- 0:57Speaker 7: It's Kevin McCullough, Monday through Friday on That Kevin Show.
- 1:08Speaker 7: And now, from the Connors & Sullivan Broadcast Studios, the
- 1:12Speaker 7: man who is not what he wants to be.
- 1:15Speaker 2: But is way grateful that he's not who he used
- 1:18Speaker 2: to be, here's.
- 1:24Speaker 3: All right, glad to have you with us. Kevin McCullough,
- 1:26Speaker 3: very glad to be with you. It is the Wednesday edition.
- 1:29Speaker 3: We will answer the question, how do we live? We
- 1:32Speaker 3: will talk about some Bibles that need to get into
- 1:34Speaker 3: the hands of some people that need them. We've got
- 1:37Speaker 3: some great, great things to talk about by way of
- 1:40Speaker 3: wellness because it is the Wednesday. But I've decided I'm
- 1:44Speaker 3: going to start a new feature on this show because
- 1:48Speaker 3: every now and then, there are people that are showing
- 1:52Speaker 3: courage in ways that need to be not just recognized,
- 1:55Speaker 3: but actually highlighted and called out and congratulated for what
- 1:59Speaker 3: they're doing. Because friends, we're going to lose the culture
- 2:02Speaker 3: if we don't start showing courage. I'm going to tell
- 2:05Speaker 3: you about a really interesting situation for a New England
- 2:12Speaker 3: Patriots running back. And I don't usually even like the
- 2:16Speaker 3: New England Patriots. So anyway, but we're going to call it,
- 2:22Speaker 3: we're going to recognize these people as doing what's called
- 2:26Speaker 3: declaring it, declaring their faith. Every heart declare it.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Every heart declare it. Every voice proclaim.
- 2:39Speaker 8: Jesus, you are.
- 2:45Speaker 3: All right. So that's the idea. We're going to we're
- 2:47Speaker 3: going to talk about someone who showed great courage in
- 2:50Speaker 3: doing this because he didn't have to. And yet he
- 2:54Speaker 3: chose to because somewhere in Massachusetts, there's a 15 year
- 2:58Speaker 3: old girl today that has not seen her parents or
- 3:01Speaker 3: her older brother in many, many months. And it's not
- 3:04Speaker 3: because they hurt her and it's not because she did
- 3:06Speaker 3: anything that they did anything to her that was negligent
- 3:10Speaker 3: or in any way, you know, malpractice towards their own child.
- 3:14Speaker 3: It's simply because they are Christians and they have a
- 3:18Speaker 3: belief very strongly about something and they spoke that faith
- 3:24Speaker 3: out loud. Joseph and Arlene Kutzko had a daughter who
- 3:30Speaker 3: was attending Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, Massachusetts. According
- 3:36Speaker 3: to the family's account, a school counselor began socially transitioning
- 3:40Speaker 3: their daughter. A new name? male pronouns, and all of
- 3:46Speaker 3: it without telling them. When the Kutzkows found out and objected,
- 3:52Speaker 3: and they objected plainly, grounded in their faith, the counselor
- 3:57Speaker 3: filed a report with the Massachusetts Department of Children and
- 4:00Speaker 3: Families Services, DCF, and they investigated an allegation of physical abuse.
- 4:06Speaker 3: So the counselor at the school tells the authorities that
- 4:09Speaker 3: the father is abusing their daughter physically. Well, that proved
- 4:15Speaker 3: to be disproven and unfounded. And then, having cleared the
- 4:21Speaker 3: father of the accusation and the allegation that opened the
- 4:24Speaker 3: case to begin with, the state decided to keep the
- 4:27Speaker 3: child anyway. Full legal guardianship and a restraining order barring
- 4:32Speaker 3: the parents and their son from any contact with their
- 4:35Speaker 3: own daughter and sister. Now, just let that sink in
- 4:40Speaker 3: for a second. You falsely accuse the parents, and then
- 4:47Speaker 3: after accusing them, you make them prove that they didn't
- 4:52Speaker 3: do what you're accusing them of doing, which is hideous
- 4:54Speaker 3: to begin with. And after they're cleared, the state still said, no,
- 5:00Speaker 3: they can't go back to you. Well, Trayvon Henderson of
- 5:06Speaker 3: the New England Patriots, a running back, heard about this.
- 5:11Speaker 3: And so... He posted on his social media Proverbs 22.6.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Train up a child in the way they should go,
- 5:21Speaker 3: and when they are old, they will not depart from it.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I had to write it a bazillion times as a kid.
- 5:28Speaker 3: And he said by posting that flatly that God had
- 5:31Speaker 3: given rights to these parents to raise their daughter in
- 5:36Speaker 3: their faith, and that that right was being stripped away
- 5:40Speaker 3: from them by the state. He called the parents trying
- 5:45Speaker 3: to honor God and lead their daughter toward the truth,
- 5:48Speaker 3: and he prayed for justice. Now, I don't know anything
- 5:51Speaker 3: about Trayvon Henderson personally, but I know courage when I
- 5:55Speaker 3: see it, and I know how rare it is for
- 5:57Speaker 3: a 23-year-old professional athlete, three preseason games and one regular
- 6:02Speaker 3: season game into his NFL season to plant a flag
- 6:05Speaker 3: on the single most radioactive cultural question of the decade,
- 6:09Speaker 3: and rather than stay quiet and protect the endorsement deal's
- 6:12Speaker 3: He didn't have to say anything. He said something anyway,
- 6:15Speaker 3: and he said it in the plainest, most biblically grounded
- 6:18Speaker 3: language available. Parents have a sacred duty to their children,
- 6:24Speaker 3: and no bureaucracy gets to override that. Here's what should
- 6:28Speaker 3: terrify every parent listening. Regardless of your politics or your theology,
- 6:34Speaker 3: the Kutzkows didn't lose their daughter because a court found
- 6:37Speaker 3: them unfit. They lost because they disagreed on record with
- 6:42Speaker 3: a school employee's unilateral decision to begin transitioning their child
- 6:47Speaker 3: in secret. The next hearing in all of this is
- 6:50Speaker 3: October 29th. And between now and then, a family that
- 6:53Speaker 3: has done nothing wrong except believe what their church has
- 6:56Speaker 3: always taught and what they've always believed as part of
- 6:58Speaker 3: their faith about the nature of the human person will
- 7:02Speaker 3: keep fighting simply to be allowed back into their own
- 7:05Speaker 3: daughter's life. Not to control her, not to punish her.
- 7:10Speaker 3: To parent her. To sit with her. Praying with her.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Walking with her through something that is very hard. But
- 7:19Speaker 3: loving parents have the capacity to do that. This is
- 7:22Speaker 3: why I was so ticked at James Tallarico the other day.
- 7:26Speaker 3: He doesn't have any kids and he says that parents
- 7:28Speaker 3: won't do all of this. Parents will. Here's the thing.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Each of us that is a parent knows this. We
- 7:36Speaker 3: need to train up our children in the way they
- 7:39Speaker 3: should go. That doesn't mean something threatening. It doesn't mean
- 7:43Speaker 3: something that is harmful for them. It's a promise made
- 7:49Speaker 3: to every parent willing to take up the sacred, exhausting,
- 7:53Speaker 3: and unglamorous work of raising a child in the fear
- 7:56Speaker 3: of the Lord. The Kutzko's are still trying to keep
- 8:01Speaker 3: that promise. And as far as I'm concerned, the state
- 8:05Speaker 3: of Massachusetts should get out of their way and let them.
- 8:09Speaker 3: But here's the thing. Today, we're going to recognize Trayvon
- 8:13Speaker 3: Henderson and the Kutzko parents as the first recipients of
- 8:18Speaker 3: the Every Heart Declare It recognition here at That Kevin Show.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Because every heart should declare it. Jesus is worthy. Regardless
- 8:31Speaker 3: of what the state thinks about it, he is worthy.
- 8:37Speaker 3: And If you believe that and you stand up for that,
- 8:40Speaker 3: especially in the well-being of your kid, you have every
- 8:44Speaker 3: right to expect the state to respect that faith and
- 8:50Speaker 3: your parental sovereignty. So good going, Trayvon. Super proud of you.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Thank you for letting your heart declare the truth today.
- 9:08Speaker 9: Every heart declares Every voice proclaim Jesus, you are worthy
- 9:21Speaker 9: Yesterday the same Let the earth keep singing Let.
- 9:30Speaker 1: The heavens ring Everything with breath alive.
- 9:45Speaker 8: Worship Christ the King.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Worship Christ the King. Here he.
- 10:11Speaker 8: Is, from New York, that Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 10:18Speaker 10: All right.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Welcome back. Glad to have you with us. It's that
- 10:21Speaker 3: Kevin show everything online at that Kevin show dot com,
- 10:25Speaker 3: including our long running series. How do we live? It's
- 10:29Speaker 3: there in podcast form every single day. And I hope
- 10:32Speaker 3: that you come back and take avail of it. If
- 10:35Speaker 3: you have not had a chance to hear it live,
- 10:38Speaker 3: these these shepherds that come and spend a week with us,
- 10:41Speaker 3: I really value that time. And I know that they
- 10:44Speaker 3: really care about encouraging you in the same process. What
- 10:48Speaker 3: are we encouraging each other about? Well, if you're not
- 10:51Speaker 3: a believer, this may not make sense, but that's okay.
- 10:54Speaker 3: I'm going to challenge you with it anyway. I believe
- 10:57Speaker 3: that we as Christians, those of us that follow Jesus,
- 11:00Speaker 3: have a calling to impact the culture. And we live
- 11:03Speaker 3: in a culture that may not like God, may not
- 11:06Speaker 3: like his word, especially.
- 11:08Speaker 10: They may.
- 11:09Speaker 3: They may even be fine with the generic version of
- 11:11Speaker 3: God in their own brain. But when you attach that
- 11:14Speaker 3: God to a Bible that has biblical, um, attributes attached
- 11:19Speaker 3: to it in terms of who he is, that becomes
- 11:21Speaker 3: a completely different matter. And certainly here in the New
- 11:25Speaker 3: York tri-state area, but I think in a lot of
- 11:27Speaker 3: Western culture, the people that believe in those things are
- 11:30Speaker 3: looked upon with suspicion or even outright hostility, which brings
- 11:34Speaker 3: us back to Psalm 27, which is what we're talking
- 11:36Speaker 3: about this week with Ryan Batesall of Emergence Church in
- 11:39Speaker 3: New Jersey, where the writer says in verse two, though
- 11:45Speaker 3: the Armies encamp around me, want to eat my flesh,
- 11:49Speaker 3: want to kill me. And not just one of them,
- 11:51Speaker 3: but an entire army of them taking me, you know,
- 11:54Speaker 3: 1700 to one and odds that I will not fear
- 12:00Speaker 3: because God is with us. And we're looking at this
- 12:01Speaker 3: entire chapter this week. And Ryan, it's been a really
- 12:04Speaker 3: illuminating discussion thus far. So thank you again for doing it.
- 12:08Speaker 5: But we have to break.
- 12:09Speaker 3: We're getting into a chapter now where the focus changes
- 12:12Speaker 3: a little bit and it's noticeable in the language. But
- 12:15Speaker 3: what are we looking at?
- 12:16Speaker 11: Yeah, I think what we're seeing now is, you know,
- 12:18Speaker 11: he gave us these great truths of we don't need
- 12:21Speaker 11: to fear because God is with us. And the heart
- 12:24Speaker 11: of that is when God's the most beautiful thing, right?
- 12:28Speaker 11: And so the most beautiful thing in our life can't
- 12:31Speaker 11: be ever taken from us.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Like we really don't have to live in fear.
- 12:37Speaker 11: And now you got it right, Kevin. You can feel
- 12:40Speaker 11: it almost. It shifts a bit to how do we...
- 12:44Speaker 11: build that heart like what are what's the weight room
- 12:48Speaker 11: you know what's what's the exercises in our life that
- 12:51Speaker 11: begin to build that heart and and that's the next
- 12:54Speaker 11: couple verses in the passage so.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Why don't you just touch on them meet them for
- 13:00Speaker 3: us and then tell us what.
- 13:00Speaker 5: They mean You know what? I actually don't have my Bible.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Let me read them for you and we'll go from there.
- 13:06Speaker 5: And it would be cool. It would be cool if
- 13:08Speaker 5: I just ripped it right out of memory. You'd be
- 13:10Speaker 5: very impressed.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Well, you do memorize a good chunk of your messages
- 13:14Speaker 3: every week. So you probably have inputted whatever's in to
- 13:17Speaker 3: this this week's sermon. But let me just pick up
- 13:21Speaker 3: on verse seven. Hear my voice when I call. Lord,
- 13:25Speaker 3: be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says
- 13:28Speaker 3: of you, seek his face, your face, Lord, I will seek.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Don't hide your face from me. Don't turn your servant
- 13:35Speaker 3: away in anger. You've been my helper. Don't reject me
- 13:38Speaker 3: or forsake me, God, my savior. That's just verses seven
- 13:42Speaker 3: through nine there.
- 13:43Speaker 5: Yeah, nice.
- 13:44Speaker 11: And this gets into some of what we began to
- 13:47Speaker 11: hit on yesterday about just the importance of building the
- 13:53Speaker 11: posture of, hey, I'm going to seek God. I'm going
- 13:56Speaker 11: to seek him in really two ways. One, corporately, which
- 13:59Speaker 11: was so helpful, what you shared yesterday about the need
- 14:02Speaker 11: to get around the people of God individually. in times
- 14:05Speaker 11: of fear in times where things are hard don't run
- 14:07Speaker 11: and don't isolate that's where people get in huge trouble
- 14:11Speaker 11: and you know I was thinking yesterday throughout the day
- 14:14Speaker 11: a little bit after we hung up I think a
- 14:17Speaker 11: lot of Christians don't realize how encouraging their presence is
- 14:22Speaker 11: on a Sunday.
- 14:24Speaker 5: People might feel.
- 14:27Speaker 11: Think people even understand me being in this room is
- 14:32Speaker 11: probably an encouragement to someone. Them seeing me here, me
- 14:37Speaker 11: saying hello, I think we really miss that sometimes.
- 14:40Speaker 5: And so the importance of corporate.
- 14:43Speaker 11: Seeking, and then I think the importance of individual seeking.
- 14:48Speaker 5: What are the the habits and disciplines and routines in
- 14:53Speaker 5: how I seek.
- 14:54Speaker 11: The Lord personally and privately, that's going to cultivate this,
- 14:58Speaker 11: this courage that comes only from the Lord in my
- 15:01Speaker 11: relationship with him.
- 15:03Speaker 3: If you will, holding to your gym analogy, these are the,
- 15:06Speaker 3: these are the reps. These are the things we, we
- 15:09Speaker 3: make practical habits of, and hopefully they become a routine that,
- 15:15Speaker 3: that helps us shape our few, our spiritual outlook.
- 15:18Speaker 11: And before we even jumped on the radio today, we
- 15:22Speaker 11: were talking a little off the phone about Kobe and Jordan.
- 15:27Speaker 5: And one of the things.
- 15:31Speaker 11: Would get a workout in before anyone else he was
- 15:34Speaker 11: famous for forehand workouts where he would go and he'd
- 15:36Speaker 11: shoot around he just felt like hey by me putting
- 15:39Speaker 11: this time in I'm putting time in that no one
- 15:43Speaker 11: else is and I'm going to make sure to get
- 15:44Speaker 11: some extra reps every day over my competition and hey
- 15:49Speaker 11: that's cool with basketball but it's far more powerful if
- 15:54Speaker 11: we find to go how do I get a little
- 15:58Speaker 11: extra time with the Lord each day even if it
- 16:00Speaker 11: means setting my alarm 15 minutes earlier.
- 16:03Speaker 5: I'm just going to get in his word. I'm going
- 16:04Speaker 5: to get some time in prayer.
- 16:06Speaker 11: I might bring a journal with me and write some
- 16:09Speaker 11: thoughts down, but I want to put in the work, um,
- 16:12Speaker 11: because in the day of trouble, uh, just like Kobe
- 16:16Speaker 11: knew in the, in the big moment, in the big game,
- 16:18Speaker 11: I put the time in, in the day of trouble, um,
- 16:21Speaker 11: By the grace of God, I'll put some time in
- 16:23Speaker 11: and and the fruit's going to come out.
- 16:26Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 16:27Speaker 5: You know, that's the seeking piece.
- 16:29Speaker 3: And he goes into verse 10 and 11 with even
- 16:35Speaker 3: kind of an ultimatum. Like, even if my father and
- 16:39Speaker 3: mother forsake me, the Lord, you'll receive me. Teach me
- 16:43Speaker 3: your way. Lead me in a straight path because of
- 16:46Speaker 3: my oppressors. Do not turn me over to the desire
- 16:50Speaker 3: of my foes for false witnesses rise up against me,
- 16:53Speaker 3: spouting malicious accusations. We've all had those moments in our lives,
- 16:58Speaker 3: I'm sure. But he's saying the seeking of God's face,
- 17:03Speaker 3: especially in the times where it gets really hard, that's
- 17:07Speaker 3: where you know God's presence the most.
- 17:10Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 17:10Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.
- 17:12Speaker 11: And this is this gets us to the second thing.
- 17:14Speaker 11: And we're not just seeking, but we want to be
- 17:17Speaker 11: taught by God.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Right.
- 17:18Speaker 11: Like like James says, we don't just want to hear
- 17:21Speaker 11: God's word. We actually want to do it, you know,
- 17:23Speaker 11: and that that's really the teaching piece.
- 17:26Speaker 5: And this.
- 17:32Speaker 11: What are my go-to verses in these moments that I've
- 17:37Speaker 11: forged into my heart? And so, you know, two I
- 17:40Speaker 11: think of. One for me is real simple. God is
- 17:44Speaker 11: my shield, right? And so, If God's my shield, that's
- 17:48Speaker 11: a good shield. And I can walk pretty courageously into
- 17:53Speaker 11: anything if God is my shield. The other thing, it
- 17:57Speaker 11: was just really freeing for me is, hey, it's appointed
- 18:00Speaker 11: for man to die once and after that to face judgment.
- 18:03Speaker 5: And the truth is... I used to think nothing bothered me.
- 18:11Speaker 5: And then I.
- 18:12Speaker 11: Had kids and I realized, I don't think I ever
- 18:15Speaker 11: really cared about anyone. I don't think I was fearless.
- 18:19Speaker 11: I just don't think I cared about anything. And then
- 18:23Speaker 11: I did care about something and I cared that they
- 18:25Speaker 11: lived and I felt a real responsibility to make sure
- 18:27Speaker 11: they lived.
- 18:29Speaker 5: And part of that was good and part.
- 18:35Speaker 11: Yes, I'm to love my children. I'm to pray for them,
- 18:38Speaker 11: share the gospel with them, try to give them truth
- 18:41Speaker 11: and good example.
- 18:43Speaker 5: I don't ultimately keep them alive. That at the end
- 18:48Speaker 5: of the day, that's God's role.
- 18:51Speaker 11: And some of my fear early in my parenting crept
- 18:54Speaker 11: in because I was trying to do something that was
- 18:56Speaker 11: God's job. And I think anytime– it's interesting to trace
- 19:00Speaker 11: our anxieties because we might find idolatry behind them or
- 19:05Speaker 11: we might find we're putting ourselves in the place of
- 19:08Speaker 11: God thinking we're responsible for something he's only responsible for.
- 19:13Speaker 5: And that was really a freeing thing for me to realize.
- 19:16Speaker 11: And that's where– not fear so what's the truth I
- 19:29Speaker 11: need to get into my heart so I don't fear
- 19:31Speaker 11: and that was a huge one for me.
- 19:33Speaker 3: I think this is important friends that we seek him
- 19:36Speaker 3: and that we ask him to teach us more about
- 19:39Speaker 3: who he is and more about how that all works
- 19:41Speaker 3: out real quickly Ryan you're teaching this weekend if people
- 19:45Speaker 3: come to emergence what will they hear and what time
- 19:48Speaker 3: should they be there and where are they located at?
- 19:50Speaker 5: Sure. I mean, we're still in our study in Psalms.
- 19:53Speaker 11: We're in Psalm 51, kind of on that. the back
- 19:58Speaker 11: end of the moments of life where we blow it
- 20:01Speaker 11: because we all do you know and uh and the
- 20:04Speaker 11: grace of god is there that's what we're going to
- 20:05Speaker 11: talk about this weekend and uh we we have a
- 20:09Speaker 11: whole bunch of service times but at our central campus
- 20:11Speaker 11: we got a thursday night at 10 15 and 11
- 20:18Speaker 11: 45 in.
- 20:19Speaker 5: Total so that's that's where we.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Are um and if you want to know more friends
- 20:23Speaker 3: it's emergence.church and i know that um if you showed
- 20:27Speaker 3: up i know that ryan would love to say hi
- 20:29Speaker 3: to you if you came by and shook his hand
- 20:31Speaker 3: after so uh please avail yourself of that ryan thank
- 20:34Speaker 3: you uh looking forward to our continued discussion these next
- 20:37Speaker 3: couple of days appreciate you being here you got it
- 20:40Speaker 3: calvin mccullough coming right back we've got a lot to
- 20:41Speaker 3: get to it's a wednesday and we'll touch on a
- 20:43Speaker 3: little bit of wellness in hour two so i hope
- 20:45Speaker 3: you stick around.
- 20:49Speaker 12: Stick around for more of That Kevin next.
- 20:53Speaker 10: Here he is from New York.
- 21:15Speaker 13: That Kevin.
- 21:17Speaker 8: Kevin McCullough.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Welcome back to Times Square. It's That Kevin Show, thatkevinshow.com.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Just relaunched, brand new, it all slick and looking nice,
- 21:26Speaker 3: so go check it out. And I'm glad to have
- 21:29Speaker 3: everything there. We never put anything behind a paywall because
- 21:31Speaker 3: we want you to have access to it, whether it's
- 21:33Speaker 3: the videos or the columns or the podcasts, etc. So
- 21:36Speaker 3: thank you for going there. You know, if you own
- 21:38Speaker 3: a business, you know this, you're familiar with this cycle.
- 21:43Speaker 3: You've got revenue that's coming in, but But it's too
- 21:48Speaker 3: many days away, and you've got some bills that need
- 21:51Speaker 3: to be paid now. And whether you're in production, whether
- 21:55Speaker 3: you're in real estate, farming, there's all kinds of industries
- 22:00Speaker 3: where you run into cycles like that. Infrequently, they may be,
- 22:05Speaker 3: but sometimes you really need help. And you need business solutions,
- 22:09Speaker 3: whether it be SBA or short-term access, whatever you need,
- 22:14Speaker 3: And you need to be able to trust people that
- 22:16Speaker 3: you work with to know that you're understanding what you're
- 22:20Speaker 3: taking out and so forth. So what do you do
- 22:22Speaker 3: when you're in that situation? You got payroll, you got vendors,
- 22:26Speaker 3: you got unexpected expenses, and they don't always cooperate with
- 22:29Speaker 3: the revenue calendar.
- 22:31Speaker 5: Okay.
- 22:32Speaker 3: It's called a timing gap. It's not a solvency gap.
- 22:35Speaker 3: It's a timing gap. How do you solve that problem? Well,
- 22:37Speaker 3: I am super excited to introduce you to our newest
- 22:40Speaker 3: sponsor here at That Kevin Show, Mock.com. Not M-O-C-K, it's M-A-C-H,
- 22:46Speaker 3: as in speed, as in super speed. Mockfunding.com and everything
- 22:51Speaker 3: that they do. Tony Bode is the president and founder
- 22:55Speaker 3: of Mock Funding, and he joins me. And Tony, the
- 22:57Speaker 3: reason that you and I even cross paths with each
- 23:00Speaker 3: other is that I operate a small business, and I,
- 23:03Speaker 3: like many small business owners, occasionally need help in making
- 23:07Speaker 3: that timing gap bridge over with the ability to do it.
- 23:12Speaker 3: So we're grateful that you're here, grateful that you're a
- 23:14Speaker 3: sponsor of the show. But help me understand how prevalent
- 23:18Speaker 3: of a need are funding gaps when we're talking about
- 23:21Speaker 3: small businesses these days?
- 23:23Speaker 5: Great.
- 23:23Speaker 13: Great to be here, Kevin. Thank you for having me
- 23:25Speaker 13: over here. So it's it's actually quite common. And actually,
- 23:29Speaker 13: it's the reason why this is a multibillion dollar industry.
- 23:33Speaker 13: Small businesses have always struggled with the need for for
- 23:37Speaker 13: cash flow just to fill in those gaps. Traditionally, they
- 23:42Speaker 13: would go to their bank to solve these issues. But
- 23:45Speaker 13: as banking regulations throughout the years have gotten worse and
- 23:48Speaker 13: worse and more difficult to navigate, that's where the private
- 23:51Speaker 13: sector stepped in. And this is kind of, it's an
- 23:55Speaker 13: industry that's taken over since about late 1999, and it's
- 23:59Speaker 13: grown since. And so what we do is we work
- 24:02Speaker 13: with businesses, business owners in particular, that.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Have ongoing revenue.
- 24:07Speaker 13: But don't have the timing right where maybe their receivables
- 24:11Speaker 13: are out 30 to 60 days. And we provide revenue-based financing,
- 24:15Speaker 13: which is just unsecured financing. They don't need to have
- 24:19Speaker 13: great personal credit to qualify. It doesn't really depend on
- 24:22Speaker 13: what you have on the personal side as much as
- 24:24Speaker 13: it depends on how strong of a business you have
- 24:27Speaker 13: and how well.
- 24:28Speaker 4: You run your business. So it's a great tool. It's
- 24:30Speaker 4: a great tool.
- 24:31Speaker 13: A lot of companies are doing it nowadays more and more.
- 24:33Speaker 13: Even major banks are getting into it. And we've been
- 24:36Speaker 13: able to help a lot of business owners since 2018.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I want people to understand how you came about this.
- 24:41Speaker 3: You were actually in banking. And you were frustrated with
- 24:45Speaker 3: the inability to help customers that were coming through saying,
- 24:49Speaker 3: I'm in a timing flow and it's a problem. And
- 24:53Speaker 3: you weren't able to solve their problems through the banking
- 24:56Speaker 3: system that you were a part of. So you actually
- 24:58Speaker 3: went out and said, I'm going to start helping people
- 25:00Speaker 3: solve this problem on our own. That's right.
- 25:03Speaker 13: I actually stumbled upon the industry in 2012.
- 25:07Speaker 4: I was in banking for six years. I was in
- 25:09Speaker 4: commercial lending.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Talk about how important integrity is in this process and
- 25:13Speaker 3: kind of how you structure what mock funding does differently.
- 25:16Speaker 4: 100%.
- 25:17Speaker 13: So I always said that when money is your product,
- 25:19Speaker 13: it just leaves room for a lot of bad behavior
- 25:21Speaker 13: out there. It's an industry that isn't as regulated as
- 25:25Speaker 13: the personal sector, personal lending sector. So we hear a
- 25:28Speaker 13: lot of clients saying, hey, I've been promised things from
- 25:30Speaker 13: another company, from a broker. And oftentimes just to get
- 25:33Speaker 13: me into a transaction that I didn't want to be in.
- 25:36Speaker 13: And so what differentiates us is that we take the
- 25:39Speaker 13: consultative approach because every client is different. every client has
- 25:44Speaker 13: the ability to qualify for a plethora of different things.
- 25:47Speaker 13: So depending on your situation, depending on your credit, the
- 25:49Speaker 13: first thing we like to do is have a conversation.
- 25:51Speaker 13: So one of the things we differentiate from our competitors
- 25:55Speaker 13: is that we're looking at long-term relationships and we're not
- 25:57Speaker 13: afraid to walk away from a deal. If we feel
- 25:59Speaker 13: like what you can achieve right now with your business,
- 26:02Speaker 13: isn't exactly what you need in order to be able
- 26:04Speaker 13: to accomplish your goal. We'll tell you that we're in
- 26:07Speaker 13: it for the long-term and that's not the short term.
- 26:09Speaker 3: So If you can't truly help them, you'll tell them that.
- 26:11Speaker 3: And if you can, you'll show them the different options
- 26:14Speaker 3: that are available.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:16Speaker 13: And look, we have connections with major SBA partners. Even
- 26:20Speaker 13: through the SBA, we can fast track most of our
- 26:22Speaker 13: applications in as little as two weeks. So that's actually
- 26:25Speaker 13: quite a ways away from what I was doing, traditional
- 26:29Speaker 13: lending at the bank. So we've kind of opened up
- 26:32Speaker 13: our possibilities where we can work with A-tier clients that
- 26:36Speaker 13: have perfect credit, have been in business for years and years.
- 26:38Speaker 13: And also the guys that are just getting started, maybe
- 26:40Speaker 13: they've been in business a year, their credit isn't as good,
- 26:43Speaker 13: but there's options and solutions we can provide them as well.
- 26:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Well, friends, I'm just excited because I'd love to pass
- 26:50Speaker 3: on recommendations about people that have integrity. And you know
- 26:54Speaker 3: that if you listen to this show and know me
- 26:56Speaker 3: for any length of time, that is one of the
- 26:57Speaker 3: most important things. Mock funding can be reached at 888-462-9442, 888-462-9442.
- 27:07Speaker 3: You can also go online, mockfunding.com, M-A-C-H, not M-O-C-K, M-A-C-H,
- 27:13Speaker 3: like the speed, mockfunding.com, mockfunding.com, and then click through on
- 27:18Speaker 3: that little Trustpilot symbol and seriously, go look and see
- 27:22Speaker 3: what people have to say about the services that they've
- 27:25Speaker 3: been provided. But I can just tell you from personal experience,
- 27:28Speaker 3: Tony and his crew, they really care about the business.
- 27:30Speaker 3: They really care about you, and I think you're going
- 27:32Speaker 3: to be really super pleased with all of it. Tony,
- 27:34Speaker 3: great to see you. We're going to be talking to
- 27:36Speaker 3: you a lot of time on Mondays. You're going to have, like,
- 27:38Speaker 3: special tips for small businesses and ways to make their
- 27:42Speaker 3: workflow even more efficient. And we're looking forward to getting
- 27:45Speaker 3: to know you on a, you know, a brainiac basis
- 27:48Speaker 3: as well. So thanks for all your help.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Looking forward to it, and I really appreciate the platform.
- 27:53Speaker 3: You got it. Kevin McCullough coming right back. It's That
- 27:55Speaker 3: Kevin Show.
- 28:12Speaker 8: Here he is from New York, that Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 28:19Speaker 8: Welcome back.
- 28:19Speaker 3: It's That Kevin Show, thatkevinshow.com. We are in the midst
- 28:22Speaker 3: of trying to supply Bibles to those who need them,
- 28:25Speaker 3: to those who cannot get them, and to those who
- 28:27Speaker 3: desperately want them. You may not be in any of
- 28:30Speaker 3: those categories, but the people that we're trying to help are.
- 28:33Speaker 3: They check all three boxes. They want a Bible, they
- 28:35Speaker 3: can't get one, and they really want to have it
- 28:39Speaker 3: for themselves, but to also share with their friends and
- 28:42Speaker 3: to bring other people to Jesus Christ. It's really an
- 28:45Speaker 3: amazing thing that the Bible League has been doing for
- 28:48Speaker 3: almost 90 years to in which every Bible that goes
- 28:51Speaker 3: out ends up impacting about 12 people for the cause
- 28:53Speaker 3: of Jesus. So it's really, really a powerful way to
- 28:56Speaker 3: invest in the kingdom of God. Michael Woolworth is back
- 28:59Speaker 3: with us. And Michael, it just strikes me that every
- 29:03Speaker 3: day during this campaign, we have people to thank because
- 29:07Speaker 3: they've given Bibles. And then there's people that are actively
- 29:09Speaker 3: praying for those Bibles to be sent.
- 29:12Speaker 5: Well, you know what?
- 29:12Speaker 14: If you can't give today, you know, feel no guilt.
- 29:15Speaker 14: I mean, I really mean that. But pray for those
- 29:17Speaker 14: who have the means to give because we've said together
- 29:20Speaker 14: as two ministries, let's get it done for just north
- 29:22Speaker 14: of 10,000 waiting believers that we know by name at
- 29:25Speaker 14: Bible League. Kevin, I'm grateful for people like Deborah of Rutgersville,
- 29:29Speaker 14: New Jersey.
- 29:29Speaker 5: She said, I'm in.
- 29:31Speaker 14: Maria of Morris Plains, New Jersey said, count me in,
- 29:34Speaker 14: Michael and Kevin. And then friends listening in Shepherdsville, Kentucky
- 29:37Speaker 14: today saying we're in at 100%. at a $ 150 gift,
- 29:41Speaker 14: enough to put Bibles into the empty waiting hands of
- 29:44Speaker 14: 30 believers today. And again, above all today, my prayer
- 29:48Speaker 14: at Bible League, I tell you my affiliates at Bible League,
- 29:51Speaker 14: my colleagues would share in this. Our prayer above all
- 29:54Speaker 14: is what? God would be glorified in these stories. Every
- 29:56Speaker 14: one of these stories of redemption, and transformation. He gets
- 30:00Speaker 14: the glory for that. We take absolutely no credit. We've
- 30:03Speaker 14: seen this happen too many times to think that, you know,
- 30:06Speaker 14: we can take the credit for it. This is scripture
- 30:09Speaker 14: rooted joy and change when a life has changed and
- 30:13Speaker 14: they're never the same, right? And there's this incredible joy
- 30:16Speaker 14: that follows when they can open up the pages of scripture,
- 30:18Speaker 14: read about the God who loves them. So again, take heart.
- 30:22Speaker 14: The gospel is going forth. And again, we get to
- 30:24Speaker 14: be a part of it today for the princely sum
- 30:26Speaker 14: of only $ 5 a Bible.
- 30:28Speaker 3: If you want to participate, the phone number is 1-800-937-9673.
- 30:30Speaker 11: 1-800-YES-WORD.
- 30:30Speaker 3: It might be easier to remember.
- 30:31Speaker 2: 1-800-YES-WORD.
- 30:31Speaker 3: But the number is 1-800-937-9673.
- 30:32Speaker 5: 1-800-937-9673.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Or go to ThatKevinShow.com.
- 30:33Speaker 8: ThatKevinShow.com.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Top of the page. Click the banner. and you're right
- 30:51Speaker 3: there on the giving page, and you can decide how
- 30:54Speaker 3: many Bibles you want to give. And if you do
- 30:56Speaker 3: it right now, whatever number you put in there, it's
- 30:58Speaker 3: going to be doubled. Not that you're going to pay
- 31:00Speaker 3: for them. Someone else is going to come alongside and
- 31:02Speaker 3: match that. But if you're going to do 20 Bibles,
- 31:05Speaker 3: that's a $ 100 gift. Someone else is going to come
- 31:07Speaker 3: along and do 20 Bibles in matching your 20 Bibles.
- 31:11Speaker 3: So that's 40 Bibles, 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-937-9673, or thatkevinshow.com. And I
- 31:21Speaker 3: made mention, Michael, that there are people actively praying for
- 31:25Speaker 3: Bibles right now. Where are they praying from?
- 31:28Speaker 14: Well, you know, as we talk about the work of
- 31:30Speaker 14: the Great Commission, you know, your part in that today
- 31:33Speaker 14: can be as simple as what? It's sending a Bible
- 31:35Speaker 14: right to waiting believers. You know, I'm thinking of the
- 31:37Speaker 14: four types of soil, right, that Jesus talks about. In
- 31:40Speaker 14: Matthew 13, the parable of the sower, Kevin, he talks about, again,
- 31:43Speaker 14: the different responses to the word of God.
- 31:47Speaker 8: You know, the seed is sown, if you will.
- 31:48Speaker 14: It falls by the wayside.
- 31:50Speaker 2: That's the.
- 31:51Speaker 14: That's those who have hardened hearts, right? They're refusing to
- 31:53Speaker 14: hear this precious gospel. There's the stony places where that
- 31:57Speaker 14: seed falls. That's the shallow faith. It lacks roots, so
- 32:01Speaker 14: it dies, right? That word falls among the thorns, right?
- 32:05Speaker 14: Too many worldly distractions. The life and the wealth choke
- 32:07Speaker 14: the word, if you will. It doesn't have a chance
- 32:10Speaker 14: in the lives of these people who have no time
- 32:11Speaker 14: for it, right? And then Jesus talks about the good ground.
- 32:15Speaker 14: The faithful disciples who hear, they understand, they obey the word.
- 32:19Speaker 14: And it produces a great harvest. Well, the harvest is here, right?
- 32:22Speaker 14: I mean, we've talked about this Bible access list. When
- 32:25Speaker 14: we began engaging in that work about two years ago, Kevin,
- 32:28Speaker 14: we could say with confidence at that time, there are
- 32:31Speaker 14: 100 million, 100 million waiting believers in the world today
- 32:35Speaker 14: that are, again, praying for God's precious word. In two
- 32:38Speaker 14: years time, that has increased by 20%. We can tell
- 32:41Speaker 14: you today with confidence, Bible League, Voice of the Markers,
- 32:44Speaker 14: Open Doors, We can tell you that it's increased to
- 32:46Speaker 14: about 120 million. God is truly at work in his
- 32:50Speaker 14: world through his word. And let me tell you three
- 32:52Speaker 14: of those praying for Bibles right now. Augustine is 30.
- 32:56Speaker 14: He's in Albania, a former atheist, now leading a Bible
- 32:59Speaker 14: study with 20 believers.
- 33:01Speaker 4: They need Bibles.
- 33:02Speaker 14: Siam is in Nepal, the country that's being ravaged by
- 33:05Speaker 14: these flash floods right now. He's a former Hindu. His
- 33:09Speaker 14: family has shunned him now that he follows Jesus. He
- 33:11Speaker 14: speaks the Nepali language. He's praying for a Bible. And
- 33:14Speaker 14: then one more, Maria is in Colombia.
- 33:16Speaker 8: She's widowed.
- 33:17Speaker 14: She has two children, one of those with cerebral palsy.
- 33:20Speaker 14: She's just now learning to read and write in Spanish.
- 33:22Speaker 14: She's a believer. Maria is praying for the precious word
- 33:26Speaker 14: of God. Kevin, I'm sharing a lot of needs today.
- 33:28Speaker 14: It's 50 Bibles here, 500 there. But I also want
- 33:31Speaker 14: you to hear from one of our partners. I call
- 33:33Speaker 14: him a hero of the faith. The man has suffered
- 33:35Speaker 14: incredibly as he ministers in South Asia. But Ramesh talks
- 33:39Speaker 14: about what your gifts are doing today in his part
- 33:42Speaker 14: of the world.
- 33:43Speaker 15: Because of your kind help, we are able to do
- 33:47Speaker 15: the great work for the Lord. Sometimes you may not
- 33:49Speaker 15: know what is happening here. You may not see with
- 33:52Speaker 15: your eyes, but God is doing great work. Through your donation,
- 33:56Speaker 15: through your prayers, God is doing great work. So we
- 33:59Speaker 15: want to just say thank you so much for your
- 34:02Speaker 15: loving kindness and what you are doing for God's work
- 34:06Speaker 15: in this land.
- 34:07Speaker 14: Well, to hear Mike Woolworth say, thanks, please know it's genuine.
- 34:10Speaker 14: But boy, there is a man that is, he's taken
- 34:13Speaker 14: those gifts that you send in Christian faith, believing that
- 34:16Speaker 14: what God says in Isaiah 55 is true. What my
- 34:19Speaker 14: word will go forth, it will accomplish my purpose. And
- 34:21Speaker 14: then in Christian love, right? We're told over and over again,
- 34:25Speaker 14: it's not enough just to say, I care, do something right.
- 34:28Speaker 14: And Ramesh is telling you it's making an incredible difference.
- 34:32Speaker 3: So right now, friend, we need you to just go
- 34:33Speaker 3: to the phone, make a call and give as many
- 34:36Speaker 3: Bibles as you can. And it's going to be matched
- 34:39Speaker 3: Bible for Bible 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-YES-WORD, 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-YES-WORD. Or maybe you're
- 34:41Speaker 3: the kind of person that prefers to just go online
- 34:43Speaker 3: and do it all yourself. You can go to thatkevinshow.com,
- 34:45Speaker 3: click the Bible League banner at the top of the page.
- 35:00Speaker 3: shouldn't take more than about two minutes to either make
- 35:02Speaker 3: the call or to go online and to complete the form.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Either way, you're going to be sending Bibles and no
- 35:08Speaker 3: matter how many you send, they're going to be matched
- 35:10Speaker 3: Bible for Bible. So if you can give a 500
- 35:15Speaker 3: or 300 Bible gift right now, that would be what? $ 1, 500.
- 35:19Speaker 3: That's going to be doubled and it's going to become
- 35:21Speaker 3: 600 Bibles just because of your generosity. So We want
- 35:27Speaker 3: you to maximize the amount of good that can be
- 35:30Speaker 3: done right now because this challenge is in front of us.
- 35:33Speaker 3: Someone was generous enough to offer to match. Let's be
- 35:37Speaker 3: brave enough. Let's be bold enough to take advantage of
- 35:39Speaker 3: that offer and to send as many Bibles as we can. 1-800-937-9673, 1-800-937-9673,
- 35:42Speaker 3: or go to thatkevinshow.com. Stick around for more of That
- 35:44Speaker 3: Kevin next week.
- 36:06Speaker 12: Serving it up with a no-drink minimum.
- 36:10Speaker 8: It's that Kevin Mac show.
- 36:11Speaker 3: All right, glad to have you with us, Kevin McCullough.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Thank you for being here. And if you have not
- 36:16Speaker 3: yet done it, you need to call DFW Direct Insurance.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Do you know why? My family was looking for a
- 36:24Speaker 3: better option for health insurance. This was just a few
- 36:28Speaker 3: months ago. We had started out on one of those
- 36:30Speaker 3: medical cost sharing plans that you hear the guy with
- 36:33Speaker 3: the real smooth voice talking about in the commercials. And
- 36:36Speaker 3: he was like, you know, we want to share your costs. Well,
- 36:40Speaker 3: it didn't really work for us. Like when we started
- 36:44Speaker 3: on it, it was a lower price. And as our
- 36:47Speaker 3: family grew and we had a family of five and
- 36:51Speaker 3: so forth, now we were paying like five times as
- 36:53Speaker 3: much and we weren't getting the services that we needed anymore. Uh, and,
- 36:57Speaker 3: and I didn't want to keep paying out of pocket
- 36:59Speaker 3: for everything all the time. So that was about the
- 37:02Speaker 3: time I heard about DFW direct insurance and Vic Pritchard.
- 37:06Speaker 3: And my friend Shane Moore told me about him and
- 37:09Speaker 3: he said, Kev, you got to check them out. And
- 37:11Speaker 3: I did. And then I spoke with Vic on the
- 37:13Speaker 3: phone and he said, Kevin, I think we can help you.
- 37:16Speaker 3: He goes, we've got a lot of people that are
- 37:18Speaker 3: on those plans and they think that they're saving money. Uh,
- 37:21Speaker 3: but you gotta, you gotta look at your costs, both
- 37:24Speaker 3: out of pocket. what you pay for your premium, and
- 37:26Speaker 3: then if you have anything major, what happens there. And
- 37:29Speaker 3: he has more than 20 plans. Vic has more than
- 37:32Speaker 3: 20 plans at his disposal that have no out-of-pocket costs.
- 37:37Speaker 3: So the price you pay in your premium is the
- 37:39Speaker 3: price that you pay. So friends, call Vic up. Seriously,
- 37:45Speaker 3: he saved us $ 400 a month. That's almost $ 5, 000 for
- 37:50Speaker 3: the coming year that we're going to have in our
- 37:51Speaker 3: pocket because of what he saved us with DFW Direct Insurance.
- 37:56Speaker 3: And I just, I can't say thank you enough to
- 37:58Speaker 3: Vic Pritchard. Call his personal cell number. I asked him,
- 38:01Speaker 3: I said, Vic, can I tell other people to call
- 38:03Speaker 3: you because of what you did for us? And he said, sure.
- 38:06Speaker 3: He said, give them my cell. So here's his actual
- 38:10Speaker 3: cell number, 817-449-5557.
- 38:10Speaker 5: 817-449-5557.
- 38:11Speaker 10: 817-449-5557.
- 38:11Speaker 3: And tell Vic that I was the one that told
- 38:23Speaker 3: you to call. Cause he may be, who is this?
- 38:26Speaker 3: I say, Kevin McCullough told me to call you. He'll
- 38:28Speaker 3: be like, Oh, okay, cool. Um, eight, one, seven, four, four, nine, five, five, five, seven,
- 38:33Speaker 3: but seriously, $ 400. And I asked him, I said, how
- 38:36Speaker 3: much do you save people on average? He goes, well,
- 38:39Speaker 3: over the years we've been doing this since what, 2009,
- 38:42Speaker 3: he goes 38% on average per, per person that they,
- 38:47Speaker 3: that they enroll. And there's no enrollment period for the
- 38:50Speaker 3: companies that, um, that Vic is working with. So you
- 38:53Speaker 3: don't have to do it at a certain time of
- 38:55Speaker 3: the year. You can do it now. Open enrollment doesn't matter.
- 38:57Speaker 3: That's only for the Affordable Care Act plans. These plans,
- 39:01Speaker 3: you can activate them tomorrow. Call Vic right now. Start
- 39:05Speaker 3: saving money on your health insurance. For us, it was
- 39:08Speaker 3: $ 400 a month, $ 5, 000 for the year.
- 39:08Speaker 5: Incredible.
- 39:09Speaker 3: 817-449-5557 is the number.
- 39:10Speaker 13: 817-449-5557.
- 39:10Speaker 4: All right.
- 39:10Speaker 3: One other thing I wanted to touch base on, I
- 39:12Speaker 3: was just reading on this. I've kind of adopted recently
- 39:24Speaker 3: a low carb keto style diet and. that is the
- 39:31Speaker 3: weight loss plan that PhD weight loss essentially helps you
- 39:36Speaker 3: institute into your life. But I was just reading that.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Some research has just come out in the journal called
- 39:42Speaker 3: Cell Metabolism, where they studied 42 adults who had obesity
- 39:46Speaker 3: pre-diabetes and excess liver fat, had a fatty liver. And
- 39:51Speaker 3: in a randomized clinical trial, the participants were assigned three
- 39:54Speaker 3: weight loss diets, the low-carb keto, a Mediterranean diet, and
- 39:58Speaker 3: a low-fat, mostly plant-based diet. Here's the thing. In all
- 40:01Speaker 3: three groups, muscle insulin sensitivity improved by around 50%, helping
- 40:06Speaker 3: the muscles take up blood sugar more efficiently.
- 40:08Speaker 5: But.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Liver fat decreased about 67% among people following the keto
- 40:15Speaker 3: diet compared to 45% under the other two. So if
- 40:19Speaker 3: you want to lose liver fat, do the keto thing.
- 40:24Speaker 3: And my friends at phdweightloss.com will help you do that
- 40:27Speaker 3: right now. They've helped me. But do the keto diet
- 40:31Speaker 3: if you want to lose 67% more fat. liver fat.
- 40:35Speaker 3: If you've got a fatty liver, that's the way to go.
- 40:37Speaker 3: It beats the other two hands down. All right, Calvin
- 40:40Speaker 3: McCullough coming right back.
- 40:41Speaker 8: Don't go away.
- 40:41Speaker 1: 10, 3, 2, 1.
- 40:53Speaker 7: Somewhere in the bowels of the city that never sleeps.
- 40:56Speaker 3: Kevin McCullough, radio host with Salem Media.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Is a man also not sleeping.
- 41:01Speaker 4: Syndicated radio talk show host Kevin McCullough.
- 41:03Speaker 2: And that guy would like a word with you.
- 41:06Speaker 3: Many of you know him, Gomez Lutz-Trudamas.
- 41:09Speaker 5: Of course that.
- 41:09Speaker 4: Kevin show is going to be great.
- 41:11Speaker 3: The only thing that could be.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Greater, of course, would be that Donald show.
- 41:13Speaker 6: But we don't have that, so we have that Kevin show.
- 41:16Speaker 7: Featuring the music of Dick Tunney and the Dream.
- 41:20Speaker 2: In Color Orchestra.
- 41:31Speaker 7: Straight ahead, everything you need to know about the top
- 41:34Speaker 7: headlines of the day and a perspective that will give
- 41:37Speaker 7: you some eternity to it, plus practical tips for family life,
- 41:43Speaker 7: spiritual life, and good old regular life.
- 41:47Speaker 2: It's Kevin McCullough, Monday through Friday, on That Kevin Show.
- 41:51Speaker 4: That Kevin Show.
- 41:58Speaker 7: And now, from the Connors & Sullivan Broadcast Studios, the
- 42:02Speaker 7: man who is not what he wants to be, but
- 42:05Speaker 7: is way grateful that he's not who he used to be,
- 42:09Speaker 7: here's The Devil!
- 42:13Speaker 3: All right, glad to have you with us. Kevin McCullough,
- 42:15Speaker 3: very glad to be with you. It is the Wednesday edition.
- 42:19Speaker 3: We will answer the question, how do we live? We
- 42:22Speaker 3: will talk about some Bibles that need to get into
- 42:24Speaker 3: the hands of some people that need them. We've got
- 42:26Speaker 3: some great, great things to talk about by way of
- 42:29Speaker 3: wellness because it is the Wednesday. But I've decided I'm
- 42:33Speaker 3: going to start a new feature on this show. Because
- 42:37Speaker 3: every now and then, there are people that are showing
- 42:41Speaker 3: courage in ways that need to be not just recognized,
- 42:45Speaker 3: but actually highlighted and called out and congratulated for what
- 42:49Speaker 3: they're doing. Because friends, we're going to lose the culture
- 42:52Speaker 3: if we don't start showing courage. I'm going to tell
- 42:55Speaker 3: you about A really interesting situation for a New England
- 43:01Speaker 3: Patriots running back. And I don't usually even like the
- 43:06Speaker 3: New England Patriots. So anyway, it's but we're going to
- 43:09Speaker 3: call it the the we're going to recognize these people
- 43:14Speaker 3: as doing what's called declaring it, declaring their faith. Every
- 43:18Speaker 3: heart declare it. All right, so that's the idea. We're
- 43:36Speaker 3: going to talk about someone who showed great courage in
- 43:40Speaker 3: doing this because he didn't have to, and yet he
- 43:43Speaker 3: chose to. Because somewhere in Massachusetts, there's a 15-year-old girl
- 43:48Speaker 3: today that has not seen her parents or her older
- 43:51Speaker 3: brother in many, many months. And it's not because they
- 43:54Speaker 3: hurt her and it's not because she did anything that
- 43:57Speaker 3: they did anything to her that was negligent or in
- 44:00Speaker 3: any way, you know, malpractice towards their own child. It's
- 44:04Speaker 3: simply because they are Christians and they have a belief
- 44:08Speaker 3: very strongly about something. And they spoke that faith out loud.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Joseph and Arlene Kutzko said, had a daughter who was
- 44:20Speaker 3: attending Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, Massachusetts. According to
- 44:26Speaker 3: the family's account, a school counselor began socially transitioning their daughter.
- 44:32Speaker 3: A new name, male pronouns, and all of it without
- 44:36Speaker 3: telling them. When the Kutzkows found out and objected, And
- 44:43Speaker 3: they objected plainly, grounded in their faith. The counselor filed
- 44:47Speaker 3: a report with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families Services, DCF.
- 44:52Speaker 3: And they investigated an allegation of physical abuse. So the
- 44:55Speaker 3: counselor at the school tells the authorities that the father
- 45:00Speaker 3: is abusing their daughter physically. Well, that proved to be
- 45:05Speaker 3: disproven and unfounded. And then again, Having cleared the father
- 45:11Speaker 3: of the accusation and the allegation that opened the case
- 45:14Speaker 3: to begin with, the state decided to keep the child anyway.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Full legal guardianship and a restraining order barring the parents
- 45:22Speaker 3: and their son from any contact with their own daughter
- 45:25Speaker 3: and sister. Now just let that sink in for a second.
- 45:32Speaker 3: You falsely accuse the parents, and then after accusing them,
- 45:39Speaker 3: you make them... Proved that they didn't do what you're
- 45:42Speaker 3: accusing them of doing, which is hideous to begin with.
- 45:46Speaker 3: And after they're cleared, the state still said, no, they
- 45:50Speaker 3: can't go back to you. Well, Trayvon Henderson of the
- 45:56Speaker 3: New England Patriots, a running back, heard about this. And
- 46:01Speaker 3: so he posted on his social media, Proverbs 22, 6.
- 46:08Speaker 3: Train up a child in the way they should go,
- 46:10Speaker 3: and when they are old, they will not depart from it.
- 46:13Speaker 3: I had to write it a bazillion times as a kid.
- 46:17Speaker 3: And he said by posting that flatly, that God had
- 46:20Speaker 3: given rights to these parents to raise their daughter in
- 46:25Speaker 3: their faith, and that that right was being stripped away
- 46:29Speaker 3: from them by the state. He called the parents... trying
- 46:35Speaker 3: to honor God and lead their daughter toward the truth,
- 46:37Speaker 3: and he prayed for justice. Now, I don't know anything
- 46:40Speaker 3: about Trayvon Henderson, personally, but I know courage when I
- 46:45Speaker 3: see it, and I know how rare it is for
- 46:47Speaker 3: a 23-year-old professional athlete, three preseason games and one regular
- 46:52Speaker 3: season game into his NFL season, to plant a flag
- 46:55Speaker 3: on the single most radioactive cultural question of the decade,
- 46:58Speaker 3: and rather than stay quiet and protect the endorsement deal's
- 47:02Speaker 3: He didn't have to say anything. He said something anyway,
- 47:05Speaker 3: and he said it in the plainest, most biblically grounded
- 47:08Speaker 3: language available. Parents have a sacred duty to their children,
- 47:13Speaker 3: and no bureaucracy gets to override that. Here's what should
- 47:17Speaker 3: terrify every parent listening. Regardless of your politics or your theology,
- 47:23Speaker 3: the Kutzkows didn't lose their daughter because a court found
- 47:26Speaker 3: them unfit. They lost because they disagreed on record with
- 47:32Speaker 3: a school employee's unilateral decision to begin transitioning their child
- 47:37Speaker 3: in secret. The next hearing in all of this is
- 47:40Speaker 3: October 29th. And between now and then, a family that
- 47:42Speaker 3: has done nothing wrong except believe what their church has
- 47:46Speaker 3: always taught and what they've always believed as part of
- 47:48Speaker 3: their faith about the nature of the human person will
- 47:52Speaker 3: keep fighting simply to be allowed back into their own
- 47:54Speaker 3: daughter's life. Not to control her, not to punish her.
- 48:00Speaker 3: To parent her. To sit with her. Praying with her.
- 48:06Speaker 3: Walking with her through something that is very hard. But
- 48:09Speaker 3: loving parents have the capacity to do that. This is
- 48:11Speaker 3: why I was so ticked at James Tallarico the other day.
- 48:15Speaker 3: He doesn't have any kids and he says that parents
- 48:17Speaker 3: won't do all of this. Parents will. Here's the thing.
- 48:22Speaker 3: Each of us that is a parent knows this. We
- 48:26Speaker 3: need to train up our children in the way they
- 48:28Speaker 3: should go. That doesn't mean something threatening. It doesn't mean
- 48:33Speaker 3: something that is harmful for them. It's a promise made
- 48:39Speaker 3: to every parent willing to take up the sacred, exhausting,
- 48:43Speaker 3: and unglamorous work of raising a child in the fear
- 48:46Speaker 3: of the Lord. The Kutzko's are still trying to keep
- 48:50Speaker 3: that promise. And as far as I'm concerned, the state
- 48:54Speaker 3: of Massachusetts should get out of their way and let them.
- 48:58Speaker 3: But here's the thing. Today, we're going to recognize Trayvon
- 49:03Speaker 3: Henderson and the Kutzko parents as the first recipients of
- 49:07Speaker 3: the Every Heart Declare It recognition here at That Kevin Show.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Because every heart should declare it. Jesus is worthy. Regardless
- 49:21Speaker 3: of what the state thinks about it, he is worthy.
- 49:26Speaker 3: And if you believe that and you stand up for that,
- 49:30Speaker 3: especially in the well-being of your kid, you have every
- 49:34Speaker 3: right to expect the state to respect that faith and
- 49:40Speaker 3: your parental sovereignty. So good going, Trayvon. Super proud of you.
- 49:46Speaker 3: Thank you for letting your heart declare the truth today.
- 49:57Speaker 9: Every heart declare it. Every voice proclaim. Jesus, you are worthy.
- 50:10Speaker 9: Yesterday the same.
- 50:13Speaker 8: Let the earth keep singing.
- 50:24Speaker 9: Worship Christ the King.
- 50:58Speaker 8: Here he is from New York, That Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 51:05Speaker 3: All right, welcome back. It's That Kevin Show, and Dr.
- 51:07Speaker 3: Monique Yohannan is back with us on this Wednesday where
- 51:10Speaker 3: we take a look at wellness. And Dr.
- 51:13Speaker 8: Yohannan, you have helped us.
- 51:15Speaker 3: She's with the Independent Women's Forum, by the way, and
- 51:17Speaker 3: she's the director of the Center for Better Health at
- 51:20Speaker 3: Independent Women. we have talked in recent weeks about everything
- 51:25Speaker 3: from government intrusion to the attempt by public schools to
- 51:30Speaker 3: recategorize children and their sex and people that ripped off
- 51:35Speaker 3: the system, doing that to kids and doing permanent damage
- 51:37Speaker 3: and all sorts of things. And in my monologue, just
- 51:40Speaker 3: in the last segment, I was highlighting this family in
- 51:42Speaker 3: Massachusetts who had their kid taken completely, you know, under
- 51:48Speaker 3: a false attack said, The father was abusive. That turned
- 51:51Speaker 3: out to be completely not true. And yet the state
- 51:53Speaker 3: still has not given the Kutzko's their daughter back, even
- 51:58Speaker 3: though all charges against him have been disproven thoroughly. And
- 52:03Speaker 3: it just makes me reminded, Dr. Yohannan, that the health
- 52:08Speaker 3: of our society is kind of on a teetering edge.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Like people that are making decisions about things have a
- 52:14Speaker 3: lot of power and sometimes they abuse that power. And
- 52:17Speaker 3: I see them doing a lot of harm with it.
- 52:20Speaker 3: You actually have some good news for us today. Welcome back,
- 52:23Speaker 3: first of all. And thanks for being here.
- 52:26Speaker 16: Thank you so much. You know, Kevin, when you're talking
- 52:29Speaker 16: about parents and I think parents' rights being cut out,
- 52:33Speaker 16: To me, that really fits very much into Maha and,
- 52:36Speaker 16: you know, what RFK Jr. sort of tapped into as
- 52:40Speaker 16: a movement. I will tell you, last week I was
- 52:44Speaker 16: at the Republican National Convention.
- 52:46Speaker 3: The first ever midterm convention?
- 52:48Speaker 16: Well, actually, the Democrats had three of them from 1974
- 52:51Speaker 16: to 1982.
- 52:52Speaker 8: Oh, interesting.
- 52:53Speaker 16: They stopped doing them then. But yes, the first time
- 52:57Speaker 16: the Republicans did it. You know, it was really, I
- 53:02Speaker 16: would say, especially the second night, joyful, if I can
- 53:05Speaker 16: use that. But I will tell you, the biggest roar
- 53:07Speaker 16: of the crowd there was for RFK Jr. And when
- 53:11Speaker 16: President Trump the first night even mentioned his name, people
- 53:14Speaker 16: leapt to their feet and the roar of the crowd.
- 53:18Speaker 3: That's interesting, because if you just watch the media and
- 53:20Speaker 3: if you just listen to the talking heads, they make
- 53:23Speaker 3: you think that Maha is dead and buried. They make
- 53:26Speaker 3: you think that RFK is damaged goods. And that there's just,
- 53:30Speaker 3: you know, nothing good that can come of that anymore.
- 53:32Speaker 3: And you're sensing that that was not, in fact, the
- 53:35Speaker 3: case in that location.
- 53:38Speaker 16: Well, and even beyond that, AOC is trying to appeal
- 53:41Speaker 16: to Maha voters now. I mean, that I think people
- 53:45Speaker 16: are understanding that there is a message, and I think
- 53:48Speaker 16: it gets to the core of how you started this,
- 53:50Speaker 16: that parents... have been disrespected. And how do we get
- 53:56Speaker 16: back to a place where we understand parents have to
- 53:59Speaker 16: be the ones who make the decisions for their children?
- 54:03Speaker 16: They make decisions about their education, about their medical care,
- 54:07Speaker 16: that that has to be about parents. That has to
- 54:10Speaker 16: be our default. We went too far away from that.
- 54:13Speaker 16: And I think that's a big part of why we
- 54:15Speaker 16: end up with Maha.
- 54:17Speaker 3: I think that you're right. I am very encouraged by
- 54:19Speaker 3: you telling me that, though. So I'm I'm going to
- 54:22Speaker 3: be hopeful. I've often said that if you just look
- 54:26Speaker 3: at the stuff on paper, you know, the fatigue. Now
- 54:30Speaker 3: we're in a war. You know, there should be there
- 54:32Speaker 3: should be a lot of reasons why Trump and the
- 54:34Speaker 3: Republicans shouldn't do very well in November. And they may not.
- 54:37Speaker 3: I mean, if we're just going by history, the types
- 54:40Speaker 3: of things that they're kind of pushing uphill on, they
- 54:42Speaker 3: may not be able to successful. But they're not going
- 54:45Speaker 3: down without a fight. And I like that. I like
- 54:47Speaker 3: the fact that they're saying, hey, we've actually done what
- 54:49Speaker 3: we promised we would do. And would you rather have
- 54:52Speaker 3: those of us that keep our promises go back and
- 54:55Speaker 3: finish the job as opposed to whatever that is over there? Like,
- 54:59Speaker 3: I can't even begin to describe how crazy the others.
- 55:02Speaker 3: You talk about AOC. She's a total Marxist, like sympathizing
- 55:10Speaker 3: Islamic radical adjacent, you know, member of the squad member.
- 55:14Speaker 3: Then she says she's not a part of the socialist,
- 55:17Speaker 3: the Democrat socialist. Then the party gets mad at her.
- 55:20Speaker 3: So she goes and rejoins the Democratic socialist to make
- 55:23Speaker 3: sure that she has good standing in their membership. And
- 55:25Speaker 3: now she's coming out and she's said one thing out
- 55:28Speaker 3: of one side of her mouth. She's saying something else
- 55:30Speaker 3: to the other side. By the way, she is one
- 55:31Speaker 3: of these people that I really take issue with because
- 55:33Speaker 3: she has all kinds of opinions about what I should
- 55:36Speaker 3: be doing with my children. And she has no children.
- 55:39Speaker 3: James Tallarico in Texas, the same thing. He wants to
- 55:42Speaker 3: run for the United States Senate and tell every parent
- 55:43Speaker 3: like me who has been up at 2 a.m., who
- 55:46Speaker 3: has done the feedings, who has gone through the long,
- 55:49Speaker 3: arduous task of sleepless nights and all the other stuff.
- 55:52Speaker 3: He wants to tell me what is good for my kids.
- 55:55Speaker 16: You know, Kevin, just preaching to the choir. I mean,
- 55:58Speaker 16: so didn't you hear Woke One was crazy?
- 56:01Speaker 3: That was the other thing. She goes, well, I shouldn't
- 56:04Speaker 3: have done that. And then she comes back.
- 56:06Speaker 6: So and God is non-binary, I guess.
- 56:09Speaker 16: And there are six genders.
- 56:12Speaker 3: But why stop at six? If you're James Tallarico, why
- 56:15Speaker 3: not have 58?
- 56:17Speaker 8: Well, sure. Exactly.
- 56:19Speaker 16: You know, ultimately, nobody's going to care about my kids
- 56:23Speaker 16: more than I do. There is no government, there is
- 56:27Speaker 16: no policy, however well-intentioned, that is ever going to put
- 56:31Speaker 16: my kid first. And frankly, I'm going to be the
- 56:34Speaker 16: one dealing with the consequences and also the joys of
- 56:38Speaker 16: being a parent. But I need to be allowed to
- 56:41Speaker 16: be a parent.
- 56:43Speaker 3: And we don't have to ask permission for that. That's
- 56:45Speaker 3: a divine right that God instilled in his creation. And
- 56:48Speaker 3: we have every right to demand that. And that's why
- 56:51Speaker 3: I'm going to fight for the Kutzko's in Massachusetts. I'm
- 56:54Speaker 3: so proud of Trayvon Henderson, because as a running back
- 56:58Speaker 3: for the Patriots, he has stepped up in the last
- 57:00Speaker 3: 24 hours, put a big Bible verse on his social
- 57:03Speaker 3: media and said it's not right that the state is
- 57:05Speaker 3: taking away this this daughter. Let's shift gears a little bit.
- 57:10Speaker 3: There's some very interesting things going on in pancreatic cancer,
- 57:15Speaker 3: and there's a new drug, and this is good news.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Tell us the good news.
- 57:19Speaker 16: It is such good news. So the drug, I'm going
- 57:22Speaker 16: to give you the brand name. I usually don't speak
- 57:24Speaker 16: in brand names. The mouthful of the generic is Derricksonrasib,
- 57:29Speaker 16: but it's Rasonk is the brand name. This drug was
- 57:33Speaker 16: approved for basically salvage therapy for pancreatic cancer at the
- 57:38Speaker 16: end of August. But there was an update on Monday
- 57:41Speaker 16: that I think is worth mentioning that This drug more
- 57:44Speaker 16: than doubled the survival of this disease, which basically people
- 57:48Speaker 16: were living four to six months now with the first
- 57:52Speaker 16: approval that they got are living more than 14 months.
- 57:56Speaker 6: And the only side effect with this is people got
- 57:59Speaker 6: a little rash.
- 58:01Speaker 16: It is incredibly well tolerated and it's a pill.
- 58:05Speaker 6: So, so amazing.
- 58:06Speaker 16: It's going to be part of part D for Medicare and,
- 58:09Speaker 16: you know, then we'll figure out the insurance for the rest.
- 58:12Speaker 16: The study that came out on Monday, not a new approval,
- 58:15Speaker 16: but basically it got a breakthrough designation as initial therapy
- 58:20Speaker 16: for pancreatic cancer. It's basically in trials for other things.
- 58:24Speaker 16: They peaked at the data and it looks extraordinary as
- 58:27Speaker 16: initial therapy. The thing I think is most exciting, though,
- 58:31Speaker 16: is about 30% of cancer deaths use the exact pathway
- 58:37Speaker 16: this drug targets. So it's right now in late stage
- 58:40Speaker 16: trials for lung cancer. It's being studied for colon cancer.
- 58:44Speaker 16: This is going to be a game changer. And again, 30%
- 58:47Speaker 16: of cancer deaths, this was a really difficult target pathway
- 58:52Speaker 16: and they figured it out. So this to me is
- 58:56Speaker 16: such a game changer. And again, it's a pill that
- 58:59Speaker 16: maybe you get a rash.
- 59:00Speaker 3: What are we learning about pathways and how to approach
- 59:03Speaker 3: them for other forms?
- 59:05Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 59:06Speaker 16: So for example, earlier this week, we also had an
- 59:09Speaker 16: immunotherapy that is for a different kind of lung cancer.
- 59:13Speaker 16: So it's a different pathway. This one follows the RAS.
- 59:17Speaker 16: So that's why it's called RAS-ONC. The RAS pathway, which
- 59:21Speaker 16: is a growth pathway that's common to a lot of
- 59:23Speaker 16: different cancers, especially lung and colon, much more common. But
- 59:29Speaker 16: What you're speaking about more generally is these kind of
- 59:32Speaker 16: different pathways that we used to not be able to
- 59:36Speaker 16: target through a lot of innovation. And this is where
- 59:39Speaker 16: I feel like the American medical system gets a bad
- 59:42Speaker 16: rap in many ways. We're the people who bring these
- 59:46Speaker 16: drugs to market, whatever the flaws. And there's lots to
- 59:50Speaker 16: critique about the system. This is the system that is
- 59:54Speaker 16: going to make this a curable disease, a disease that
- 59:57Speaker 16: many people that this was a death sentence a year ago.
- 1:00:00Speaker 16: Many people are going to live with it. Think about
- 1:00:02Speaker 16: Ben Sasse, who essentially was talking about how, you know,
- 1:00:07Speaker 16: he was saying goodbye to his family and to all
- 1:00:10Speaker 16: the people he loved. And he is doing well. with
- 1:00:13Speaker 16: this treatment, there are going to be a lot of
- 1:00:16Speaker 16: families that get more time with their loved ones. This
- 1:00:19Speaker 16: is an extraordinary breakthrough. This is where, again, I think
- 1:00:23Speaker 16: about AI, lots of challenges with AI, but that's part
- 1:00:26Speaker 16: of what I look for the hopeful thing is that
- 1:00:30Speaker 16: this really is going to get to these kinds of
- 1:00:32Speaker 16: breakthroughs faster.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: Well, and that's so encouraging, especially to someone like my
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: bride and I who lost both of our moms to
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: breast cancer. And Um, you know, there were more than
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: 10 years difference between their deaths, but the, the one
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: that died last, which was my bride's mother, um, she
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: had her life extended significant. They were born the same year,
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: same age, by the way, but my mom was just
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: diagnosed a lot earlier, far fewer treatments, far less favorable outcome, shorter,
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: you know, fight with it. Um, and my, my wife's
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: mom actually survived a good number of years, seven or
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: eight years after this on nearly the same diagnosis. Um,
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: and that's just an, a credit to that ingenuity that
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: you're talking about and what we need to be continually
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: pushing for. We just don't need people like Fauci to
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: come in and mandate things that we don't need to
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: have mandated. So that's a different story. We won't go there.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: I will do.
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: The Fauci rant any day of the week, Kevin.
- 1:01:28Speaker 10: That's right.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: Dr. Monique Yohannan, always appreciate all the work you're doing.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: Thank you for being with us.
- 1:01:33Speaker 6: Thanks so much, Kevin.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: You got it. Kevin McCullough coming right back. Don't go in.
- 1:01:37Speaker 8: Stick around for more of That Kevin.
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: Next.
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: From New York, That Kevin.
- 1:02:02Speaker 9: Kevin McCullough.
- 1:02:03Speaker 8: Welcome back to Times Square.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: It's Kevin McCullough, That Kevin Show. You know, sometimes I
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: put the headlines down and I don't talk about the
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: news for a couple of seconds because sometimes there's more
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: interesting things to talk about or people to talk to.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: My next guest fits that category. You may know her
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: as DJ... You may know her as the big sister
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: you always wanted. You may know her as someone who
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: was on Dancing with the Stars or is going to
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: be in Fox's next Special Forces outfit. But her name
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: is Candace Cameron Bure. And she has to be. the
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: happiest person in America. Most days, you can just see
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: her smile. You're just thinking, how can she do that
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: all the time? Like there's something weird about that. Candace,
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: like knock it off. Give us a frown. At least
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: every now and then.
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: You're going to be known for something. A smile is
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: a pretty good thing.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: That's not, well, there's many worse things. Let's put it
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: that way.
- 1:02:51Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: I have, I have a little bit of an ax
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: to grind. Uh, Kirk's been on my show several times.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: Your daughter wonderful has been on my show at least once. Um,
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: you've avoided me until now successfully, uh, But if they
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: were to give me a clue as to something I
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: shouldn't ask you about, what would it have been?
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: There's nothing you could ask me that would bother me.
- 1:03:12Speaker 6: I've been asked everything.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: Well, OK, there you go. Fair enough.
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: And I haven't been avoiding you. I don't know why
- 1:03:20Speaker 6: they haven't been on your show, but I'm going to
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: talk to my public.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: I know why exactly. You've been making about 153 gazillion
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: Christmas movies over the years and. I'm pretty sure that
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: the math on that doesn't even fit the calendar, so
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: I don't even know how you do that. By the way,
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: I've been dying to ask you this. Are you familiar
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: with a group called the Holderness Family?
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:03:39Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: Have you seen their spoofs of your Christmas movies?
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: I think I have.
- 1:03:45Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:03:45Speaker 6: I think I have.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: If you haven't, you have to go on their YouTube
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: channel and see it. It's classic, but I think you'll
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: appreciate it for all the right reasons. The reason you're
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: talking to us is you've got a brand new tour
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: that's about to kick off, and we're excited about it.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: Last year you sold out. And I'm wondering what happened
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: in the room that made you think, hey, we need
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: to do this again and make deeper connections and that
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: sort of thing. What what what was the secret sauce
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: last year?
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: I think it was just the gathering of a bunch
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: of really wonderful, great women that were eager to listen,
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: have fun. You know, it's an edifying night, but it's
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: a fun night. And I love connecting with people. It's
- 1:04:28Speaker 6: kind of why I'm taking a show on the road.
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: Everyone has seen me on television or they listen to
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: me on my podcast. And, and, A lot of you
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: feel like you know me, but I don't really get
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: to know you guys being behind the camera. So I
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: wanted to take a show on the road. And it's
- 1:04:47Speaker 6: a little bit like my podcast, live. And I just
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: love meeting people. And I love interacting with people. So
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: it's bringing people up on stage, talking to people, getting
- 1:04:58Speaker 6: to know, and then sharing my heart, my faith. But
- 1:05:01Speaker 6: also I have... And my guest, Dr. Tabitha, we're going
- 1:05:05Speaker 6: to be talking about women's health. And, you know, I
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: turned 50 years old this year. So I just want
- 1:05:10Speaker 6: to learn all of the things that can better my
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: life and make me healthier and the things that have
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: worked and haven't worked. And that's what the whole night
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: is really about, just sharing.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: That's cool. Well, my own bride has said she wants
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: to get to one of them if she can. So
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: we're going to see what we can do about that.
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: I hope she does.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: You promised that audiences are in for something more. I
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: don't know, personal than the Candace they know on TV
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: or social media. How do you pull that off in
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: a two-hour large room setting?
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: Well, I don't know what was written exactly. I'm a
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: pretty open book, even on social media. What you see
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: is what you get. But it's really the connection to me.
- 1:05:48Speaker 6: It's the connection with people that is making all the difference.
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: I loved doing the shows last year so much. I
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: did it as a trial. There were four cities that
- 1:05:58Speaker 6: we went to. I didn't know if I was going
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: to love bus life and how it would turn out.
- 1:06:03Speaker 6: But you know what? So many people showed up. We
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: had such a great time. So without a heartbeat, I
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: was like, let's extend the tour and hit some new cities.
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: So we're doing eight cities this year, starting September 9th
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: through September 19th and kind of taking a tour from Reading, Pennsylvania, Dayton, Ohio,
- 1:06:22Speaker 6: Pinley Park, kind of Chicago, Illinois, Minneapolis. We are in
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: Kansas City. We're in Missouri, Michigan. In Grand Prairie, Texas
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: and Austin, Texas.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: You are covering some ground in 10 days.
- 1:06:36Speaker 12: I know.
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: Are you sure you can do all that on a bus?
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Because that seems like especially the Minnesota Grand Prairie thing,
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: that seems a long way away.
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: Yeah, one of them is a pretty long drive.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: Is there something about your story that you can tell
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: differently in that setting that you can't like tell? That
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: doesn't come across through a camera or a screen?
- 1:06:54Speaker 8: I think you can.
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: For me, there's definitely a vulnerability when you're in front
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: of people face to face. And when you're hearing people,
- 1:07:05Speaker 6: whether they're nodding or they're saying yes or they're clapping
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: or they're oohing or aahing, whatever it is, it's a
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: whole different feeling for me that allows me to be
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: my most vulnerable self. that I don't get when I'm
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: just in front of a camera looking at the camera
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: on my computer, you know, on a Zoom call.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Do you sense that that vulnerability, and in essence, I'm
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: guessing that leads to maybe what we would think of
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: as authenticity, but do you think that that's missing in
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: women's lives today to the degree that they wish they
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: had more of it? Not because they're doing anything wrong,
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: but just because life has everybody going a thousand miles
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: an hour with their hair on fire.
- 1:07:45Speaker 11: Exactly.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: Community is so important. It's so important that we connect
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: with one another. And you're right, like life is very,
- 1:07:53Speaker 6: very busy and it's easy to lose that. And so
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: this is I mean, it's a it's a way to
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: have a connection and have a good night out. And,
- 1:08:06Speaker 6: you know, I think that the show in and of itself,
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: because I'm a woman of faith and it's rooted in faith.
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: that's the biggest difference in my life. Like I'm going
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: to share my heart, but you, I'm not going to
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: do put on a show without sharing the gospel. That's
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: just who I am. And, um, and I'm unashamed of everybody.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Listening and watching. That's actually how we're Christians live at
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: all the time. So I know it's crazy for you
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: to hear someone say that out loud, but it's like,
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: it's actually what we believe. So it's supposed to kind
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: of work that way.
- 1:08:59Speaker 8: From New York. that kevin kevin mccullough.
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: I'm not gonna do put on a show without sharing
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: the gospel that's just who i.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: Am candace.com backslash tour for the tour candace.com backslash tour
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: candace.com you've always been one that's been a little on
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: the ambitious side i don't even know how many christmas
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: movies you've made but i know it's a lot but
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: In one night, you try to bring together faith, family, fitness,
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: and health. You only got two hours, Candice. How do
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: you bite.
- 1:09:34Speaker 8: Off all of that?
- 1:09:34Speaker 6: Oh, we do it. We pull it off. We have
- 1:09:37Speaker 6: all the things, even add nostalgia in there, too.
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: Do you think that you can talk about any one
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: of those things without touching on the others? I mean,
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: you've already kind of said that faith runs through everything,
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: but emotional health and... I consider like rest and getting
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: enough sleep and some of those types of things in
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: that category, because if you live exhausted all the time,
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: you don't have any bandwidth for anybody else.
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: But like you can't be spiritually who God has made
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: you to be if you're not physically caring for the
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: temple on some level. And then, you know, I'm 56
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: and I'm thinking about my fitness now in ways I
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: didn't for a long, long time. It's just it's just
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: a different stage of life. Yeah, I think it's very ambitious,
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: but I congratulate you on it.
- 1:10:20Speaker 6: Well, thanks. They're all tied together. My guest who is
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: there for all the shows, Dr. Tabitha, she's a triple
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: board certified doctor and also moved into functional health coaching.
- 1:10:33Speaker 6: And she too is a Christian. So everything is synergetic
- 1:10:37Speaker 6: in that it's taking care of mind, body, and soul.
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: So that's why all those conversations really do work and
- 1:10:44Speaker 6: can't work well without one without the other.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Well, we talk about it sometimes. I do some specialty
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: niche hours in the show throughout the week. And we
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: do stuff on health weekly because I feel like a
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: Christian needs to be strong in that area in order
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: to be effective in the other areas. But we talk
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: about the triad a lot and the mind, body and soul.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: Like it's God made all those components of us. But
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: sometimes we think we're supposed to overfeed one to kind
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: of the starvation of the others. And I'm not sure
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: that that's what he ever intended.
- 1:11:17Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know either. So we've got some good experts.
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: That sounds like a lovely night. I'm sure every guy
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: listening tonight is going, oh, I wish we could be there. No,
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: this is for the ladies, guys. You just have to
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: give them that. Your new book.
- 1:11:31Speaker 6: You're welcome to come. Yeah.
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: Uh, your newest book is called wild hope, wild hope.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: You've talked about this in your latest book. The culture
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: uses the word hope kind of casually. And I don't
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: even know if they really think about what they mean
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: when they say, you know, there's hope or have hope
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: or whatever. I think Christians approach it differently. Christian hope
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: is supposed to be able to help us survive disappointment, um,
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: deal with unanswered prayer, et cetera. I'm curious because I
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: haven't read the book, but what makes hope wild in
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: your context? What are you talking about there?
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: Oh, because God is mind blowing. And in the terms
- 1:12:13Speaker 6: that he's God, it's not he provides a hope for
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: all of us that supersedes hope. Everything in life. And
- 1:12:22Speaker 6: so I feel like hope is like oxygen. You can't
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: really live without it. It's what helps you take the
- 1:12:31Speaker 6: next step when circumstances are really difficult. Like we live
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: to have hope, but the true source of hope comes
- 1:12:38Speaker 6: from Jesus. And through the Holy Spirit who's been given
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: to us, there's so many great verses on hope in
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: the Bible that are the foundation. The foundation of it
- 1:12:50Speaker 6: is that it comes from God. And so this is
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: a 30 day devotional that you can do that is
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: also interactive and spend 10 minutes a day walking through
- 1:13:02Speaker 6: where God shows us hope in our lives and the
- 1:13:05Speaker 6: scripture that supports it.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: I appreciate that for sure. All right. Quick follow up
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: your next project. You're going to go be special forces
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: up for Fox. This is at the end of the month.
- 1:13:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: Are you excited? I worked with Stephen Baldwin for about
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: nine years, about a decade and a half ago. And
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: he was just in his part of his career where
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: he was doing all the reality stuff all the time.
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: And he was showing me it's really hard work behind
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: the scenes. You got to get fit. You got to
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: do the stuff that you got to do. What's the
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: experience like for you? Because you've done dancing and now
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: you're doing this. I think you've maybe done another project.
- 1:13:38Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:13:39Speaker 8: What's it like?
- 1:13:40Speaker 6: Yeah, that's really it. I get asked to do all
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: the reality shows. I pretty much said no to all
- 1:13:45Speaker 6: of them except Dancing with the Stars. And I did
- 1:13:47Speaker 6: one of the Masked Singer because I thought that was fun, too.
- 1:13:50Speaker 6: But this is the third one I've said yes to
- 1:13:54Speaker 6: in my life. And special forces is the world's toughest challenge.
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: You are training with the Navy SEALs.
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14:03Speaker 6: And it is just a small portion of what they
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: do every single day. So I kind of had two motives.
- 1:14:09Speaker 6: One was to be able to have this experience. No,
- 1:14:14Speaker 6: I'm such a supporter of our country and our military.
- 1:14:17Speaker 6: I have such gratitude for all the people that fight
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: for us on a daily basis, past and present. So
- 1:14:24Speaker 6: to be able to have this experience. and know some
- 1:14:27Speaker 6: of the training that they go through to protect us,
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: that was like a yes for me. And the other
- 1:14:33Speaker 6: part is having turned 50 this year, I am going into.
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: You keep saying that, but I know people are watching going,
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: that can't be true. Like, she doesn't look a day
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: over 28. Like, how's that even possible?
- 1:14:44Speaker 4: Well, thanks.
- 1:14:45Speaker 6: Thanks. I... I live my life to the fullest and
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: I feel like I'm in the best shape of my
- 1:14:54Speaker 6: life at 50. I kind of kept up my fitness
- 1:14:56Speaker 6: game a year and a half ago because now is
- 1:15:01Speaker 6: the time. Like I want to set myself up in
- 1:15:03Speaker 6: the best way so that when I'm 70 or 80,
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: if I get to live to 90, you know, that
- 1:15:09Speaker 6: I can, that I can hang in there, that I
- 1:15:10Speaker 6: can open up the peanut butter jar by myself. Like,
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: You want to be able to do those things and
- 1:15:15Speaker 6: get out of the chair. So like I am or
- 1:15:17Speaker 6: I've been working really hard to set myself up for success,
- 1:15:20Speaker 6: for longevity. And so I thought this is another great
- 1:15:23Speaker 6: opportunity where I get to go out and just see
- 1:15:25Speaker 6: if I have what it takes physically and mentally. And
- 1:15:29Speaker 6: it has been one of the greatest experiences of my life.
- 1:15:33Speaker 6: Incredibly challenging, which I knew it would be, but probably
- 1:15:37Speaker 6: even harder than I thought. And I knew it was
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: going to be really hard.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: Is all the filming for that season completed? Have you
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: completed the show?
- 1:15:43Speaker 8: It is.
- 1:15:43Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: So then you've already exercised it. But I was going
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: to say, you know, a free trainer. It's a huge
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: thing these days. Big time. Candice Cameron Bure. You want

- 1:18:36Speaker 3: Last personal plug here. Tonight at midnight, my songwriting collective
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: called the T Collective, Truth Elevated Artistry, the T Collective,
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: we will be releasing... a brand new worship song. that's
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: never been sung in churches in America or anywhere else.
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: It's brand new. And if you would be so kind
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: as to go at midnight and when it goes live,
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: just so you can pre-save it now if you want to,
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: but just go to the Tea Collective on Spotify or
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: Apple Music and And pre-save the song. But we've never
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: been more excited about the launch of a song than
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: this one. And we're going about it completely differently. We're
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: not going to make a dime off this song. Anything
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: that comes in from it, we're going to turn right
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: back around and put it into other causes. We want
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: this song to be holy gods. And we want people
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: to sing it all over the world. So we are
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: working on a variety of different styles of the song
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: for churches who have different worship settings. So far we've
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: got a really hip contemporary version and we've got a
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: choral version that's nearly mastered and mixed and ready to
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: be released. And then we've got singer-songwriter and some other
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: styles that we'll be all releasing along with the lyrics
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: and the charts and everything. We'll make all of it available.
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: But if you would like to get that resource pack
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: with the the song kit and everything in there. You
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: can send me a note that Kevin show at gmail.com.
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: We're going to be sending these to music pastors, music leaders, uh,
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: church members that just want to sing the song, um, uh,
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: across the country for whoever asks, we'll send it to you.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: No charge, absolutely free that Kevin show at gmail.com that
