[SPEAKER_00]: He's already out.
0:36
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, I'm like Austin Jackson.
0:38
[SPEAKER_00]: We're not even a week in the training camp.
0:40
[SPEAKER_00]: That's already out.
0:42
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's okay.
0:43
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got things to do.
0:44
[SPEAKER_00]: We get it stuff happens in life But we're gonna have a great show without them So here's how this is gonna go tonight.
0:51
[SPEAKER_00]: We got O. J. McDuffie is always first-round pick 1993 of your Miami Dolphins Yeah, he bulls great hands.
0:58
[SPEAKER_00]: It's O. J. McDuffie first-round pick.
0:59
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know what's up Mike.
1:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go on baby Oh, this is gonna be a good show.
1:03
[SPEAKER_00]: We got Chris Perkins South Florida Sun Sentinel Perquits up.
1:07
[SPEAKER_00]: You're there Oh, man.
1:08
[SPEAKER_00]: You're out there in the sun watch these practices
1:12
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm in the shade right under a big ass man under a big ass man.
1:17
[SPEAKER_07]: I got the video boards I live a good life.
1:22
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not done front.
1:23
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I'm doing it.
1:25
[SPEAKER_06]: Hey Mike, he's got C said the 52 man That's right 50 yard line man.
1:29
[SPEAKER_06]: It was a big time right history Porter.
1:31
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got to share the news with us, you know
1:33
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, he's got to be there for a 10-inch.
1:37
[SPEAKER_00]: He got so important to take a 10-inch, who's there, who's not there, so we all know, he's got to be seen at the 50.
1:44
[SPEAKER_00]: We also got the legendary Savak as well, the Emmy adjacent producer, and yeah, that's training camp.
1:50
[SPEAKER_00]: We got a lot to talk about.
1:51
[SPEAKER_00]: There was big news this week with the dolphins.
1:53
[SPEAKER_00]: For an office wise, we got stuff happening on the field.
1:55
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's get into it.
1:56
[SPEAKER_00]: I think that before we get to the end of field stuff, let's talk about,
2:00
[SPEAKER_00]: Sillman taking over from Ross, Tom, Tom, Garfankle, CEO president, he stole the organization in a vice chairman role, just not in a CEO and president role, just, what do you think about this news?
2:14
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't see it having any type of effect, especially this year, but I guess big picture, what do you think this means if anything?
2:24
[SPEAKER_07]: I've got a couple of thoughts on this number one, one of the biggest house cleaning slash shake ups in NFL history continues.
2:33
[SPEAKER_07]: We thought in June when they named the 10 new guys and you know, this guy is here and this guy is here and the new personnel department, we thought wow.
2:43
[SPEAKER_07]: Look at that.
2:44
[SPEAKER_07]: Now we get the news that Daniel Silman, Steve Ross's son-in-law, the heir apparent to the franchise who was the CEO of Steve Ross's relevant sports company.
2:55
[SPEAKER_07]: He is free much running the football operation now.
3:00
[SPEAKER_07]: You know, Jeff Hathling, the coach, John Eric Sullivan, the GM and Brandon Shore, the salary capologist, all report to Daniel Sillman.
3:08
[SPEAKER_07]: And it just occurs to me that this shake up is so monumental.
3:13
[SPEAKER_07]: You just think, is this a review of everything that they did for the past decade or so.
3:20
[SPEAKER_07]: They've got non-traditional football people running the team.
3:23
[SPEAKER_07]: And what I mean is, Daniel Sillman,
3:26
[SPEAKER_07]: has no NFL executive experience, Troy Aceman, Hall of Fame quarterback NFL TV analyst has no executive experience.
3:36
[SPEAKER_07]: They're running the franchise now.
3:37
[SPEAKER_07]: So I applaud Steve Ross for seeing that what I was doing was not good enough, and I'm bold enough to make radical changes here.
3:46
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm bold enough to change out the personnel, the GM, the quarterback, the receivers, everything and start all over again.
3:55
[SPEAKER_07]: Let's hope that it works, but I do applaud Steve Ross for recognizing change needed to be made and making bold changes.
4:03
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, you don't.
4:05
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, thanks Mike, you know, Perk obviously Tom Garfinkles and make a lot of money for.
4:10
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
4:10
[SPEAKER_06]: Stephen Ross, you know, and you know, when he was overseeing like seemed like everything that seemed like a conflict interesting anyways, I think that you want some football people, they might not have been executives, right?
4:22
[SPEAKER_06]: No, we all know the Troy, eight months of football, and what he's meant to this team so far.
4:27
[SPEAKER_06]: In terms of, you know, selecting the GM being a part of the search for a hate coach, just, you know, being on TV with all the different obviously GMs and hate coach that he's talked to, I love the fact that he's going to get an opportunity hopefully to be a part of the organization in a bigger role moving forward.
4:55
[SPEAKER_06]: a few extra bucks in this pocket.
4:56
[SPEAKER_06]: So, you know, we shouldn't do a farer per time now being a part of football racist.
5:01
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
5:01
[SPEAKER_06]: And I'm certain you have free access.
5:02
[SPEAKER_06]: So, you know, every, it might be better to be able to go to a game and not worry about anything other just watching the game.
5:08
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
5:09
[SPEAKER_06]: You know what I would, you know, with a pocket for the Benjamin's, you know what I mean?
5:12
[SPEAKER_06]: That's so.
5:14
[SPEAKER_06]: I just think that, you know, you're right, we've seen two me think times where we've been doing the same thing for way too long.
5:20
[SPEAKER_06]: We haven't gotten any results.
5:22
[SPEAKER_06]: It's time to shake it up.
5:24
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, we knew that change was coming in terms of Mr. Ross's position or not necessarily position, but, you know, how much involved he is with the football part of it all.
5:34
[SPEAKER_06]: Mr. Ross just wants to win then.
5:35
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm promised you that everybody on Mr. Ross all the time only doesn't spend money per Mike that's a money man.
5:42
[SPEAKER_06]: This is only job because it's not working.
5:45
[SPEAKER_06]: You know as a word we put the money in the room guys, but you can't tell me that you know a save in or all these even you know all these guy Adam Gays all those guys were hot commodities when they were coming out in terms of coaches we can't you can't tell me that those guys you know weren't you know they just didn't work out.
6:01
[SPEAKER_06]: So, all he does is spend money, so people get off his back and build a beautiful stadium, beautiful practice facility, beautiful everything, everything is beautiful for anybody comes to the stadium.
6:10
[SPEAKER_06]: He's not at their current place.
6:11
[SPEAKER_06]: He's not doing the X-Sinov.
6:13
[SPEAKER_06]: So, I think that the fact that he's been spending all this money, things have been working out, it's time to shake it up, man, you know, for, you know, another final, maybe a final who we're out for him, man.
6:23
[SPEAKER_06]: So, I'm okay with it.
6:24
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, I'm a friend, I'm a friend, I'm a friend, well, kind of a quarter
6:32
[SPEAKER_06]: But getting away from football racing might be the best thing for him, and it can be the best thing for the football team as a whole.
6:37
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, go, Chris.
6:40
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm sorry.
6:40
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm real quick.
6:41
[SPEAKER_07]: Let me just say this about Tom.
6:43
[SPEAKER_07]: The dude I said earlier today, everything he touched turned to go for the dolphins, right?
6:49
[SPEAKER_07]: He had the mightest touch.
6:51
[SPEAKER_07]: The mightest touch that feels needle has with the Panthers, because you remember Tom Garfinkle put the roof, the canopy over the stadium,
6:57
[SPEAKER_07]: He helped.
6:58
[SPEAKER_07]: He was instrumental in getting the college football playoffs.
7:02
[SPEAKER_07]: You know Daniel Silman, if I'm not mistaken, got the first L classical here back in 2017.
7:08
[SPEAKER_07]: I think Real Madrid and Barcelona, right?
7:10
[SPEAKER_07]: I think Silman was instrumental in that, but Garfique also played a role in that.
7:15
[SPEAKER_07]: Garth Finkle from his auto racing.
7:17
[SPEAKER_07]: I think he was with Nessar before, but he helped get F-1 in here.
7:22
[SPEAKER_07]: He helped get innocent here.
7:24
[SPEAKER_07]: So Garth Finkle did a great, great job.
7:27
[SPEAKER_07]: He was a baller, an absolute baller as an executive.
7:31
[SPEAKER_07]: I, I look forward to seeing him around.
7:33
[SPEAKER_07]: I wish him well in his new job.
7:35
[SPEAKER_07]: But yeah, juice, you're right.
7:37
[SPEAKER_07]: Go to that game and have you a cold beverage and be a little less
7:45
[SPEAKER_06]: Don't feel sorry for Tom, right?
7:46
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be on the box at the end of the day.
7:50
[SPEAKER_00]: Not that much.
7:50
[SPEAKER_00]: Not a lot.
7:51
[SPEAKER_00]: So again, here's the thing.
7:54
[SPEAKER_00]: As a fan of the team, they haven't had success for many reasons.
7:57
[SPEAKER_00]: Like you said, they paid the wrong guys or they invested in the wrong guys.
8:00
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's say on the other, this change is welcome in that.
8:04
[SPEAKER_00]: can't be worse ten of the day and worse.
8:06
[SPEAKER_00]: It just stays the same.
8:07
[SPEAKER_00]: It can only go back.
8:08
[SPEAKER_00]: That's number one.
8:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Can't be worse.
8:11
[SPEAKER_00]: That's number one.
8:11
[SPEAKER_00]: Number two.
8:13
[SPEAKER_00]: The NFL is turned into a 365 day of your business.
8:16
[SPEAKER_00]: It wouldn't always this way in the 70s and 80s.
8:18
[SPEAKER_00]: There was an offseason.
8:19
[SPEAKER_00]: That was a real offseason.
8:20
[SPEAKER_00]: I think having someone, now you're going from someone who was 86.
8:24
[SPEAKER_00]: to someone who is 37, run in the show, can't hurt.
8:27
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a young man's game to young man's world.
8:30
[SPEAKER_00]: I think having someone a little bit younger with some new ideas, fresh ideas, can't hurt.
8:35
[SPEAKER_00]: That's number two.
8:36
[SPEAKER_00]: The two questions which we don't know the answer to now are gonna be this.
8:40
[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, Ross, I think one of the big hang-up of the Ross is he was loyal to people too long.
8:45
[SPEAKER_00]: Not just Greer, Javier Lynn, Tannenbaum, some coaches will summon half that same type of loyalty or is he going to have a little bit of a shorter leash and less patience, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
8:55
[SPEAKER_00]: Cody, see stuff going bad, the worst thing to do is let's give one more chance.
8:59
[SPEAKER_00]: No, because that just makes it worse sometimes and we've saw that we've seen it firsthand.
9:02
[SPEAKER_00]: So will he be someone with a shorter leash or a little bit of a who knows?
9:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Ross was in a lot of real estate stuff in Manhattan.
9:12
[SPEAKER_00]: He spent a lot of time in Manhattan, less time in South Florida.
9:15
[SPEAKER_00]: Is someone going to be around the building more because he can't even have an absence of you on him.
9:20
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying he's got to be there every day.
9:21
[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't need to be there making draft pictures or making it.
9:24
[SPEAKER_00]: But he can't, you've got to have him around more.
9:26
[SPEAKER_00]: than what we had with Ross.
9:27
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it matters at some level.
9:30
[SPEAKER_00]: I've spoken to Mike Flora on his podcast.
9:32
[SPEAKER_00]: He goes Stephen Ross is an absolutely owner and in a lot of ways he is.
9:36
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm not there every day checking the tenants, but we know he spends a lot of time in Manhattan with all of us.
9:40
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, still won't be that way.
9:42
[SPEAKER_00]: We're split in time.
9:43
[SPEAKER_00]: We're really he's spent more time in the building.
9:44
[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be interesting to see over the next coming year to I guess.
9:48
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, you know, I know he was at lunch the other day with the players, Mr. Ross was.
9:53
[SPEAKER_06]: So maybe that's part of what he's trying to do, you know, moving forward.
9:56
[SPEAKER_06]: But after the owner, I think some owners should be quiet, you know?
10:01
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, but they got me around the world.
10:02
[SPEAKER_06]: Dude, they have to be around the best thing got to got it to be.
10:06
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, exactly.
10:06
[SPEAKER_06]: You've got to got it.
10:07
[SPEAKER_06]: Look, he were the hell it was to be in the bad of an hour.
10:09
[SPEAKER_06]: And you know, through his private generous helicopter, if he's up in Palm Beach.
10:14
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I don't know how, how.
10:17
[SPEAKER_06]: His thing when owners are walking around, you know, it kind of, it's kind of like a scary situation for everybody's ability, right?
10:26
[SPEAKER_06]: You know what the older look in assholes tight his head, man?
10:30
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, you know, long as like I said, you write in your writing checks and you've given us a best of everything to, you know, facilities, the chefs, everything about it.
10:38
[SPEAKER_06]: Let the football people take care of football and you just, you know, come to us when there's an issue.
10:44
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't mind, and after T, I get what you're saying with Florio said would be an asking T owner, but you know, that don't mean he don't give a damn about this football team.
10:52
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't mean he doesn't do everything he can to be successful.
10:54
[SPEAKER_06]: That doesn't mean he's not at every single, every single game at practices and things like that at times.
10:59
[SPEAKER_06]: So I don't know.
11:00
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
11:00
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
11:02
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
11:04
[SPEAKER_06]: No, but there's a happy medium, but there's a happy medium between them who doesn't give me a give me an example of a happy medium, Mike, who's a guy that, you know, or, or dialed, that's an owner that is the happy medium right now.
11:16
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think what happened, and in anapolis after Jamersa died with his daughter, not being, she just wanted to know what he wanted to do with the headset on.
11:25
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't need him with a headset on.
11:26
[SPEAKER_00]: but I think just being around more.
11:28
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's just one example, because you look at some of the teams that consistently lose, maybe like the jets and what he Johnson, he, they're either, he's off doing stuff with the president.
11:39
[SPEAKER_00]: So, I think just being around more is the key.
11:42
[SPEAKER_00]: Then that's gonna be hands on, per se.
11:43
[SPEAKER_00]: But just being around more, cause this is a full, this is year round now.
11:47
[SPEAKER_00]: It's ain't like the 80s where you know I'm gonna take off the summer show up at camp I'll get in shape when we get to kick up.
11:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Those days are dead.
11:53
[SPEAKER_00]: This is year round.
11:54
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a year round business.
11:55
[SPEAKER_00]: Every month's on the bone out.
11:56
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
11:57
[SPEAKER_00]: That's just my thought.
11:57
[SPEAKER_06]: But so Mike is also not his this full-time business.
12:01
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
12:01
[SPEAKER_06]: I know.
12:02
[SPEAKER_06]: I know.
12:03
[SPEAKER_07]: I know.
12:04
[SPEAKER_07]: I hear what you're saying Mike, but I think a lot of times when the owner is around he kind of has to feel that he has to justify his existence and can you be a boss without being bossy?
12:16
[SPEAKER_07]: And I'm not sure that many of these owners can because if you're there, people expect you to be doing stuff, otherwise, why aren't you with your other businesses.
12:25
[SPEAKER_07]: So I, here's what I like about Steve Ross is that he writes threats and he lets the football people make football decisions.
12:33
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, I know there was the hardball and the Brady.
12:36
[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, Sean Payton.
12:38
[SPEAKER_07]: Right, I fully understand that.
12:40
[SPEAKER_07]: I fully understand that.
12:42
[SPEAKER_07]: For the most part, he does the two things.
12:44
[SPEAKER_07]: He wants the owner to do right facts.
12:46
[SPEAKER_07]: Let the football people make football decisions.
12:48
[SPEAKER_07]: Now, I will say this.
12:50
[SPEAKER_07]: The fans did change by opinion this year and saying the owner's main job is hiring the right people and I've come around on that because Steve Ross as you said Mike, he did not hire the right people.
13:03
[SPEAKER_07]: He left them in charge for too long.
13:05
[SPEAKER_07]: That's my main complaint with Steve Ross, but Jews I agree with you.
13:09
[SPEAKER_07]: He does want to win and I've heard from people with the dolphins that Steve Ross.
13:15
[SPEAKER_07]: If it's billionaire friends, Ratham, oh, dude, you're dolphin suck.
13:19
[SPEAKER_07]: You can't win at football, and it really bothers him.
13:22
[SPEAKER_07]: So he does want to win, and look, you don't do hardball and Brady if you don't want to win, right?
13:28
[SPEAKER_07]: That's not the right way to go about it, but you do want to win.
13:32
[SPEAKER_07]: You're willing to make airline fractures of the rules.
13:36
[SPEAKER_07]: I'll about that.
13:37
[SPEAKER_07]: I'll give him a break, not break the rules.
13:39
[SPEAKER_07]: I'll airline fractures of the rules.
13:44
[SPEAKER_07]: I do think he wants to win.
13:46
[SPEAKER_07]: I hear what you say in Mike, but I'm not sure that I think if the owner wants to have a louder voice, that's okay, but being present physically present, I don't think that that's necessary.
13:59
[SPEAKER_00]: It's, uh, I'm just now thinking of when it's like when you got multiple billionaires in their room, Razony's, each other.
14:04
[SPEAKER_00]: I would love to be a final one here in that.
14:06
[SPEAKER_00]: Look at my yard, it's bigger than the area.
14:09
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, we know, you know, like the only thing that any of them have over the other ones are the rings.
14:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, that's their biggest bragging rights.
14:19
[SPEAKER_06]: The money don't mean nothing.
14:20
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but it's all about the hardware, you know, and that's what that's what that's what you've dangled.
14:28
[SPEAKER_06]: That's what Stephen Ross needs to, you know, once they take to the table one time and he's owner meeting his man, the hardware.
14:34
[SPEAKER_06]: And it's going to mean hell.
14:37
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, I know Jonathan's talking about it.
14:38
[SPEAKER_06]: It was team's going to be triass.
14:39
[SPEAKER_06]: I saw at the shitty put up there just now.
14:42
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, we, we.
14:43
[SPEAKER_06]: We understand this team is going to be as good as we like for them to be right away, you know, so don't we don't we're not and we're not trying to share it here.
14:52
[SPEAKER_07]: No, no, look again, I'll say y'all are going to hear me say this all season long.
14:58
[SPEAKER_07]: The fourth thing you look for for this franchise to have a successful season, right, that.
15:03
[SPEAKER_07]: Ask is the right guy as coach.
15:06
[SPEAKER_07]: Sully is the right guy as GM, Malik is the right guy at quarterback and your players have the right attitude.
15:12
[SPEAKER_07]: If you have those four things, the wins will take care of themselves.
15:16
[SPEAKER_07]: You won't have to worry about being a two or three win team.
15:19
[SPEAKER_07]: If you have those four things, you don't have to say so.
15:23
[SPEAKER_07]: Hope for those four things and the wins will take care of themselves this year and beyond.
15:28
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, once a lack, once you're going to lack, which is okay, that's expected, but you're right, those four things and also a couple of gun players take leaps, take a step, Jonah, any improve off of last year, chop, can you take a leaf, Chris Johnson, can you be a true number one?
15:42
[SPEAKER_00]: If at the end of the year, we went three games, but we got yeses, like those three, and maybe one or two other players, that's a great first year where you got 180 million to dead money on the cap.
15:51
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and I'm gonna tell you this, too.
15:53
[SPEAKER_06]: Perk, you said it right, man, are those guys, the other guys, the GM, you know, Kim Bo Kamper, and Steve Goldstein, they pointed something out the other day when I was at practice for the first padded practice.
16:06
[SPEAKER_06]: Eric, John Eric Sullivan, in the end zone, by himself, watching what the hell's going on out there with the players.
16:14
[SPEAKER_06]: Not over their hob now, but in the middle of the field, like we've seen before, I'm not mentioning any names, where we all know what I'm talking about here.
16:21
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you can't know that, but I don't know that.
16:22
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, exactly, right.
16:23
[SPEAKER_06]: Exactly.
16:24
[SPEAKER_06]: But John Erick's Sullivan was sitting there and Bowen and Goli pointed this out to me and I didn't, I didn't even notice him.
16:30
[SPEAKER_06]: He's over there and he ends up by himself watching and evaluating practice.
16:34
[SPEAKER_06]: Not sitting there, you know, shaking hands and kissing babies like we've seen before, man.
16:39
[SPEAKER_06]: So we already know and we've heard every single presser.
16:42
[SPEAKER_06]: I think every single presser that half is given has got better and better.
16:47
[SPEAKER_06]: and all of them did really good so we know in that when that aspect you know so far we were in the right path with those two guys now we won't know anything about half until we kick off against the raiders you know pretty much you know we're seeing some crazy season but how much will we see that you know blah blah blah you know but hell when the first game the regular season game starts and we'll know a lot more but to see those two all about
17:14
[SPEAKER_06]: what I love about these guys already, man.
17:17
[SPEAKER_06]: And, you know, it's, it's, it's fun.
17:20
[SPEAKER_06]: It really is fun and perfect.
17:21
[SPEAKER_06]: And I love hearing you in the press, man, because I think you get two to one questions, three to one questions to everybody else.
17:29
[SPEAKER_06]: And,
17:30
[SPEAKER_06]: And I love what half since that makes sense, like, you know, he's trying to tell you.
17:33
[SPEAKER_06]: And I'm listening to it.
17:34
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
17:35
[SPEAKER_06]: And it's it's really refreshing to hear what you say, man, because the dude is about ball and he gives us so much insight into everything they're thinking about everything they're doing, the three days on the one day off.
17:48
[SPEAKER_06]: the light, meet him, heavy days, things, man, the things that, it's like, damn, man, you know, I kind of think about stuff like that, but they have them, I can explain why they're doing things the way they're doing them, man.
17:59
[SPEAKER_06]: We got the right guys in those positions, man.
18:01
[SPEAKER_06]: Like, now, like you're talking about, Mike.
18:04
[SPEAKER_06]: Hopefully, some of these other dudes take those leaps, man.
18:07
[SPEAKER_06]: They got a big support, man.
18:08
[SPEAKER_06]: They have two, man.
18:10
[SPEAKER_06]: Great.
18:10
[SPEAKER_06]: We have another one.
18:12
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, Joe Rose talks about all the time.
18:14
[SPEAKER_06]: 21 picks in the last two years.
18:15
[SPEAKER_06]: A lot.
18:16
[SPEAKER_06]: You know what I mean?
18:16
[SPEAKER_06]: That's a lot of picks.
18:17
[SPEAKER_06]: And, you know, at that rate, especially the guys that are back in last year, we got to take that leap to half of those dudes being some substantial football team to be successful.
18:29
[SPEAKER_00]: If they do, the future is going to be bright because you're going to have some salary cap space next year to play with which they didn't have this year obviously and you know who knows what they're going to pick but if those young kids not all of them because you're not going to hit on all of them but a bunch of them like you know what dang that guy's a player that guy's a foundational piece that guy's a foundation.
18:46
[SPEAKER_00]: It makes it easier in the offices where I don't have to fill 21 starting spots.
18:50
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even feel like 13 maybe or
18:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
18:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I feel 10 and make it easier for Johnny or Sullivan.
18:55
[SPEAKER_00]: And it also will just help raise the floor of the talent on the team overall, which is really what they need to do.
19:01
[SPEAKER_06]: And you know what else Mike is going to do, even if those guys are starters, he's going to have somebody behind a position competition.
19:07
[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
19:08
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm petitioning.
19:09
[SPEAKER_06]: That's it.
19:10
[SPEAKER_06]: Don't just rest behind me.
19:11
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, last year.
19:12
[SPEAKER_06]: Last game, man.
19:13
[SPEAKER_06]: We're going to have, you know, I remember all the time.
19:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, we'll be sitting there and we, we're going to two or three game winters streak, you know, when, when Jimmy, and Coach Scholar will coaches, and we'll be sitting on a two or three game winters streak feeling good about ourselves and you look out in the practice field.
19:27
[SPEAKER_06]: You see why receiver's working out.
19:29
[SPEAKER_06]: Like, damn, who jobs in trouble here?
19:34
[SPEAKER_06]: Somebody's in trouble here, man.
19:35
[SPEAKER_06]: And maybe somebody's job wasn't trouble, or maybe they're just like, yo, don't relax, mugs, you know, because there's always going to be somebody coming for your position, man.
19:43
[SPEAKER_06]: And I love that.
19:45
[SPEAKER_06]: I love the fact that it won't do something differently and three to three, because they're probably sleeping in the meeting anyway.
19:52
[SPEAKER_06]: And you really had them out there on the practice field, weren't about their positions as part of the game.
19:56
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't mind that at all.
19:58
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't, you buddy buddy, I don't need, you know, I don't need my coaching buddy buddy buddy.
20:03
[SPEAKER_06]: My specialty to have mental, never be buddy buddy with anybody, you know, and I perk, I think you might have said this perk, or maybe I heard you on Joe Rose or whatever, but somebody was talking about mics in a perfect position in, you know, LA with the charges because it can be buddy buddy with all three of you.
20:19
[SPEAKER_06]: hard to tame, you know what I mean?
20:21
[SPEAKER_06]: Whereas a head man, you can't do that shit, you know?
20:24
[SPEAKER_06]: Right, exactly, exactly.
20:25
[SPEAKER_07]: He is, and you know what I like about this season, and I know everybody is, and a lot of fans are into the win total, and how many games are we gonna win?
20:37
[SPEAKER_07]: And, you know, we're not gonna be good.
20:39
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm into the process.
20:41
[SPEAKER_07]: I like to see how this team is built and how these guys think.
20:45
[SPEAKER_07]: And to that extent, you know, look, we saw them bring in another defensive line in today.
20:50
[SPEAKER_07]: We saw them sign another tight end today.
20:53
[SPEAKER_07]: We saw them bring in Jalen Rieger, the former first round pick at wide receiver, Cleveland Ferrell, the former first round pick at D line.
21:00
[SPEAKER_07]: They said they're going to kick tire.
21:02
[SPEAKER_07]: You guys were talking about not being comfortable.
21:04
[SPEAKER_07]: I think that's kind of what they're going to do is they're going to keep turning over rocks to use a term from a former Dolphins executive or turn it over stones, whatever that term was from from Jeff.
21:16
[SPEAKER_07]: Every pebble.
21:16
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
21:17
[SPEAKER_04]: That's right.
21:17
[SPEAKER_04]: Come on.
21:19
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I hate to go back to that, but I'd like to see the process of Sully and have and how they think.
21:26
[SPEAKER_07]: Are they going to cross-training Cate and Proctor after saying that they wouldn't?
21:30
[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe the Austin Jackson situation forces them to do it or do they stick to what they were going to do in originally.
21:37
[SPEAKER_07]: How do they think?
21:38
[SPEAKER_07]: You know, what about when you're in, and can he be stable at number two, would they bring somebody in for number two if he doesn't have a good camp?
21:48
[SPEAKER_07]: How do you think about all of these things, contracting the team, being strong in the trenches?
21:53
[SPEAKER_07]: All of this stuff, I like to see how they think, and that's what we're going to see a lot of this season.
22:00
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they worked out two quarterbacks from the UFL, like in the past week.
22:03
[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't sign either.
22:04
[SPEAKER_00]: To me, that's a sign for Cam Miller and Marc, Grandownowski.
22:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Grandownowski is like, they have a couple bad practices because they're going to do.
22:13
[SPEAKER_00]: They're calling the one of those UFL's quarterbacks, get a clumber, and I figured the name of the other one, they also worked out a wide receiver from the UFL who played with the other quarterbacks, same team in Orlando.
22:23
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, they got guys, probably waiting for other phones.
22:26
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, one or two bad practices,
22:28
[SPEAKER_00]: And trust me, those players know that too.
22:30
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, perfect thing, all that.
22:33
[SPEAKER_00]: They've had six practices now.
22:34
[SPEAKER_00]: You've been there last week.
22:35
[SPEAKER_00]: I think you spoke about this a little bit now.
22:37
[SPEAKER_00]: We got six practices, compared to last year, halfway how he runs this, compared to McDamp.
22:42
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to do this side by side, because we know what's not going to be this.
22:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
22:45
[SPEAKER_00]: But what sort of stands out with you with the halfway runs besides 11 out of 11's more so than 7 out 7's, which we know about.
22:53
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, like, what sort of stand-in-off from these halfway run practices compared to what you've seen in previous years,
22:59
[SPEAKER_07]: I think one of the things is the level of teaching and involvement, and you see halfway involved, not micromanaging, but involved.
23:10
[SPEAKER_07]: He moves around from position group to position group, and we saw this there in OTAs and many camp, but he talks to the players.
23:18
[SPEAKER_07]: He talks to the coaches.
23:20
[SPEAKER_07]: He lets people know exactly how he once had done, and they say when he goes into the film room with
23:28
[SPEAKER_07]: It's the same thing.
23:29
[SPEAKER_07]: He breaks it down to them.
23:30
[SPEAKER_07]: So the teaching and the communication I think is is something that we haven't seen to this extent with this much air and with this much I guess enthusiasm.
23:43
[SPEAKER_07]: It's really obvious.
23:44
[SPEAKER_07]: when he moves around and he talks to these coaches and you see coach to coach interaction and coach to play or interaction and you know you see him doing little things like open it up his hips when he's with the DBs this is the step that I want you to take.
23:59
[SPEAKER_07]: I like that it's very hands on it's not overbearing but it's being involved that's probably one of the biggest things that I notice about the way half covers Terry's on his is camp.
24:11
[SPEAKER_07]: Well, the young team is probably smart.
24:13
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, right, right.
24:15
[SPEAKER_07]: And you just want people to know, here's what I want you to do.
24:18
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not, I'm not gonna embarrass you or humiliate you.
24:22
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm teaching.
24:22
[SPEAKER_07]: We're communicating.
24:24
[SPEAKER_07]: We're learning.
24:24
[SPEAKER_07]: Like I said, this is a lot of this is seeing how half and Sully think, how do they communicate?
24:29
[SPEAKER_07]: How do they teach?
24:30
[SPEAKER_07]: How do they get their point across, you know, flow had the TNC wall.
24:35
[SPEAKER_07]: That was one way that he communicated and taught and got things across.
24:39
[SPEAKER_07]: these guys are a little more direct and through through video and through hands on communication and conversation, I like what they're doing.
24:50
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm going to tell you guys this too, teaching and learning never stops no matter what age you're at.
24:56
[SPEAKER_06]: It's not just the young guys, it's also the veteran guys.
24:58
[SPEAKER_06]: You got a whole new staff and a whole new philosophy coming in and they're going to teach new techniques that
25:03
[SPEAKER_06]: Even guys in the bitter round for eight, nine, 10 years are going to have to learn something new.
25:09
[SPEAKER_06]: And that's what all the individual drills are about.
25:11
[SPEAKER_06]: That's what the OTAs were about.
25:12
[SPEAKER_06]: That's what the many camp was about.
25:14
[SPEAKER_06]: Because no matter what you already knew, you're going to learn some new things now because you got a new philosophy, new way of doing things in the new way they want you to play.
25:24
[SPEAKER_06]: All right.
25:24
[SPEAKER_06]: The game of football.
25:25
[SPEAKER_06]: I learned most of my wide receiver skills.
25:28
[SPEAKER_06]: when coach Ford came with Jimmy Johnson.
25:31
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, no, no, no, Mike, the Larry Cypher, who's my wife, and she recoats.
25:35
[SPEAKER_06]: No, slight to my guys I had at Penn State.
25:37
[SPEAKER_06]: But I became a much better wide receiver when Jimmy Johnson staff with Coach Robert Ford came in.
25:43
[SPEAKER_06]: And they, I, I really learned the position at that point.
25:47
[SPEAKER_06]: Other than that, I was just feeling sturdy, listening to Danny.
25:50
[SPEAKER_06]: Listen, other receivers, you know what I mean?
25:52
[SPEAKER_06]: That's all, you know.
25:53
[SPEAKER_06]: Listen to me, Jack.
25:54
[SPEAKER_06]: That's all I learned was how to play in the program, Robert Ford, you know, his big thing was, you know, theory in reality, in theory one thing, everything to work out this way.
26:05
[SPEAKER_06]: They played his covers, blah, blah, blah.
26:07
[SPEAKER_06]: In reality, it's probably not going to happen that way.
26:09
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
26:10
[SPEAKER_06]: So get your butt ready to make the, you know, the adjustments you're on to make.
26:14
[SPEAKER_06]: Assignment alignment adjustment is always the coach for talk about and that was something I never thought about and that was like what five years in the league for me before I realize if there's a you know different so with a new staff a new group of people coming in
26:29
[SPEAKER_06]: All the everybody's going to learn some completely new completely different don't try to tighten up on some of the things you do well You know, but otherwise hell everybody's got a new thing to learn because of you know, just a new staff and you got new coaches that teach differently.
26:45
[SPEAKER_06]: I love how
26:47
[SPEAKER_06]: I love how half talks how you get to everybody gets everybody learns differently and certain people need to give them the fields and people need to be watched and filmed.
26:55
[SPEAKER_06]: Some people need to be go through walkthroughs in order to get the point across, you know.
26:59
[SPEAKER_06]: And as a teacher, as an educator, they all know that as well.
27:03
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, it's so you can't teach everybody the same way.
27:05
[SPEAKER_06]: You can't discipline everybody the same with Jimmy Johnson was, you know, as much as I can't stand that dude.
27:10
[SPEAKER_06]: He was great about know how to treat certain players certain ways to get the most out of those guys.
27:15
[SPEAKER_06]: You know what I mean?
27:16
[SPEAKER_06]: And I think that we've got to staff right now that realize that everybody learns differently and they're going to teach them differently in order to the fair by to learn to be the best team that they could possibly be.
27:27
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, I'm boy.
27:28
[SPEAKER_00]: I am named dropping a ton tonight, but yes, uh, I was down with Ross Tucker on his podcast and he was looking at our staff.
27:35
[SPEAKER_00]: He goes, you know what Mike, that's staff ain't bad down there because you got tight.
27:40
[SPEAKER_00]: Tolbert is a wide receiver for his table.
27:42
[SPEAKER_00]: He had questions about slow x some questions there, but he goes, you know what he got too much blame was used to, but he liked our staff and Ross, you know, he falls asleep a lot too.
27:50
[SPEAKER_00]: But, um, yeah, I think the staff put together is pretty, I mean, it's pretty good.
27:55
[SPEAKER_00]: It's got some younger guys too, because I think the hard day lineback of your coach from Notre Dame and they hired, uh, the running match coach has been in the league long little bats.
28:04
[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, it's got some younger guys, got some experience, got kind of a healthy mix.
28:07
[SPEAKER_00]: So, I, we'll see.
28:09
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, you know, Mike, well, you know Mike, half tough on that, too.
28:13
[SPEAKER_06]: He's like, you just can't go out and get any coach you want.
28:15
[SPEAKER_06]: No, you know what I mean?
28:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, you got it.
28:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are on the contract.
28:17
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:17
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:18
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:18
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:19
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:19
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:20
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:21
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:21
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:22
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:23
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:23
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:24
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:24
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:25
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:26
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:26
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:27
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:27
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:28
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:29
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:30
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:30
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:31
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:32
[SPEAKER_06]: Some guys are here.
28:33
[SPEAKER_06]: you know, a lot of times it comes down to relationships.
28:35
[SPEAKER_06]: If I work with this guy before, that's the how he worked, you know, and that's what you have to go by.
28:40
[SPEAKER_06]: There's probably a lot of promises in the league too, like, yo, when I get a hit gig, man, you know, I got your dog, you know, you know what I mean?
28:46
[SPEAKER_06]: Who knows, man?
28:47
[SPEAKER_06]: But bottom line is, you know, some guys just aren't available.
28:50
[SPEAKER_06]: And whether or not available, what do you do then?
28:52
[SPEAKER_06]: You got to go find the best next available, or even the best bet or even the one right below that because all right guys aren't available or unwilling to make a move or make a change.
29:02
[SPEAKER_06]: So, you know, putting the staff together has got to be the hardest thing a lot of time so these guys, specialties, these new coaches with no hate coaching experience.
29:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
29:10
[SPEAKER_06]: If Shannon had called somebody, he'd be like, they're good, they're all right, well, I'm out.
29:13
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, I'm talking about this.
29:15
[SPEAKER_06]: You know what I mean?
29:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Or you guys like that, they got a better opportunity.
29:18
[SPEAKER_06]: McCarthy probably didn't have a hard time putting this staff together in Pittsburgh.
29:22
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, he probably has some guys that were still on the couch because he was out, you know?
29:26
[SPEAKER_06]: So it's like,
29:27
[SPEAKER_06]: For half being the first year had man in the league, I think that putting this to half together and I love the fact that people feel like he got some great guys that are going to educate or maybe in future stars in the coaching game.
29:38
[SPEAKER_06]: We're on the right path and we just got to hang in and we're not expecting miracles, man, but we got to start somewhere, you know what I mean?
29:45
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I think I said it on this show way back in the start of the year that that's what hurt Chris Shula is he spent one year with the Chargers and all the rest of the Rams How is he gonna put together staff when he've only been in two spots type of deal or someone like Half-leaf and Francisco Cleveland he was in Pittsburgh with Wastand then he coach College of Boston College Then he's with the Packers.
30:07
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got more phone numbers in his roll-a-dax to put together his staff Then you get Sean Payne when we tampered with him and then he wants to Denver eventually like
30:15
[SPEAKER_00]: He was called up to coaches before anything happened.
30:17
[SPEAKER_00]: He had his band put together.
30:19
[SPEAKER_00]: It's like standby guys We're gonna be like he had everyone like so for the young coaches like a Chris you look That's gonna be the thing for him.
30:27
[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be a little bit tougher when he does get a job and he will It's just that first step how he puts together because you don't have because you only been in one or two spots You don't know as many people it makes a tougher
30:37
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and I'll tell you guys something else that you know when I'm talking about this year we see how half things and how silly things you guys remember how many offends of lying coaches Chris Rear I mean a flow went through right he fired one three days in the practice right exactly exactly that I didn't put up magic
30:56
[SPEAKER_07]: Right, I kind of tell you how it also flow was, right, but then you you look at Mike McDaniel and he gets the guy he wants and big fan of you, but then that relationship goes sour and you have to shift gears after one year and fan of you goes on and wins a super bowl, but
31:14
[SPEAKER_07]: It, again, it, it tells you, you know, once you get that guy, do you get along with them?
31:19
[SPEAKER_07]: Are you willing to acquiesce to them?
31:22
[SPEAKER_07]: And all that kind of stuff, all of this stuff goes into, you know, how do you, that's the coach, you have so many things coming at you, right?
31:31
[SPEAKER_07]: You, you've got to deal with the media, you've got to deal with TV, you've got to deal with, you've got to deal with,
31:35
[SPEAKER_07]: you know, this this player who's girlfriend is is coming at them and block block block, uh, you know, and then to have coaching staff issues on top of it, you don't need to be on the handle all this right.
31:47
[SPEAKER_07]: So this it's all insight.
31:50
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you don't need coaching staff issues from your own staff that you had picked.
31:53
[SPEAKER_07]: That's just a bad, that's just a bad thought.
31:56
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, you can have a Chris first in a situation coming.
31:59
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
32:17
[SPEAKER_00]: Back to where it is.
32:18
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, we'll let you show that to that one channel.
32:20
[SPEAKER_00]: The dark side of football or something.
32:22
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a dark side of football.
32:24
[SPEAKER_00]: But it's got a happy ending, maybe.
32:26
[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, and maybe, maybe good for him, man.
32:28
[SPEAKER_07]: For him, he's right, actually.
32:31
[SPEAKER_00]: Jacob Rodriguez, you know, when he was picked, someone like me, I watch a lot of Texas Tech last year because I beat him a lot, and I loved him in college.
32:40
[SPEAKER_00]: He was a turnover machine, waiting to, I mean, he cost turnover.
32:43
[SPEAKER_00]: They were loaded on defense, they were a great team.
32:45
[SPEAKER_00]: And just his story was Mary too, and the Army, the Black Hawk Helicopter was great.
32:50
[SPEAKER_00]: Leadership came in fifths in the high has been voting as a linebacker in the Big 12.
32:54
[SPEAKER_00]: The Big 12 doesn't complain to you, friends.
32:55
[SPEAKER_00]: He was fifths in the high school, right?
32:57
[SPEAKER_00]: I ain't lying back for a big 12 school seems like in Miami again.
33:02
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if he's going to be great.
33:03
[SPEAKER_00]: But I just get the vibe.
33:04
[SPEAKER_00]: He ain't going to be a bust.
33:05
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a high floor guy.
33:07
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he's starting that start.
33:08
[SPEAKER_00]: It's year one like who cares if he starts over time.
33:11
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's or not.
33:12
[SPEAKER_00]: It'll work itself out in time.
33:13
[SPEAKER_00]: But it just seems like early on with him at least everything's so positive perking might not wrong here.
33:19
[SPEAKER_07]: No, you're correct.
33:20
[SPEAKER_07]: And he's doing all the right things.
33:22
[SPEAKER_07]: He's all over the field.
33:23
[SPEAKER_07]: We've seen them deflect a couple of passes.
33:26
[SPEAKER_07]: We don't see him out of place very often.
33:30
[SPEAKER_07]: You know, half, half made a funny time in the other day that he said, Michael Taff, the rookie safety from Texas, had an interception and practice.
33:38
[SPEAKER_07]: And he tells half, what were you even doing there?
33:41
[SPEAKER_07]: You weren't doing that.
33:42
[SPEAKER_07]: You're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right
34:04
[SPEAKER_07]: not just about Jacob Rodriguez but about Kyle Lewis and about Tray Moore because it seems like they want to play these young linebackers.
34:12
[SPEAKER_07]: It seems like they don't want to play a traditional 4 3 defense.
34:17
[SPEAKER_07]: They want to play a hybrid defense and they want to be very situation specific.
34:22
[SPEAKER_07]: Tray Moore, Kyle Lewis, Jacob Rodriguez.
34:25
[SPEAKER_07]: They're all good athletes.
34:27
[SPEAKER_07]: They can play in a lot of situations.
34:29
[SPEAKER_07]: They can play in a lot of places on the field.
34:32
[SPEAKER_07]: So if I'm the veterans, I'm a little bit worried about that.
34:35
[SPEAKER_07]: Let's specifically with Jacob Rodriguez to rail Dodson.
34:39
[SPEAKER_07]: Good luck.
34:40
[SPEAKER_07]: You better be very efficient and look.
34:42
[SPEAKER_07]: This is how good Jacob Rodriguez is.
34:44
[SPEAKER_07]: You guys know, TDOT, he led the team in Interceptions two years ago.
34:48
[SPEAKER_07]: It was just three, but he led him in Interceptions two years ago.
34:52
[SPEAKER_07]: Last year, the man did have what five sets.
34:56
[SPEAKER_07]: So, yeah, he could play.
34:57
[SPEAKER_07]: He could play.
34:58
[SPEAKER_07]: Right.
34:58
[SPEAKER_07]: He could play.
34:58
[SPEAKER_07]: Yes.
34:59
[SPEAKER_07]: He could play, but Jacob Rodriguez, he's breathing down his throat.
35:02
[SPEAKER_07]: I like what I've seen from Jacob so far.
35:04
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I'm gonna tell you this perk, and I know you've been there more than I have, man.
35:08
[SPEAKER_06]: I like when I see from the linebackers in general, you know?
35:11
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, you talk about Brooks, of course, is always going to be all over the place.
35:14
[SPEAKER_06]: T-Dye, you're talking about, you know, Willy, Willy, he's been playing very well as well, and then you got the young guys, so that linebacker position, like you talked about, there's so many different things you can do with all those guys.
35:26
[SPEAKER_06]: And you can keep all those guys.
35:28
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, if you keep all those guys, you know, and play all those guys, because you're going to need them on special teams, special packages and things like that, you're going to lose maybe one of them, but you, I mean, my back is going to be critical for this team, so I think that, you know, cause happiness going to have so many different packages that he can play, you know, with these different guys, but I feel like I honestly that.
35:48
[SPEAKER_06]: Man, I saw those guys.
35:49
[SPEAKER_06]: I saw, I mean, Willie's going to be always Willie.
35:52
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, me.
35:53
[SPEAKER_06]: If really Willie's going to make plays, he does got it.
35:56
[SPEAKER_06]: Probably got a chip on the shoulder.
35:58
[SPEAKER_06]: Brooks just got paid and we got these young guys pushing those guys.
36:01
[SPEAKER_06]: It's going to be interesting how that lineback room shapes up, but I think that or shakes out, but because I think that we've got a bunch of guys that can, that can honestly go out there and play.
36:10
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, when you talk about rookies though,
36:13
[SPEAKER_06]: Look, training camp, OTAs, many camps, you know, I can't wait to see joint practice, you know, things like that and it's other term, I definitely can't wait for the first preseason game, we're just still going to be a planning as a bunch of guys that aren't going to make the football team, but then when it gets the week one, then we'll see what these guys are truly truly made up, man.
36:32
[SPEAKER_06]: I saw a kid at Lionbacker that I'm not comparing anybody this guy, Zach Thomas has stamped his mark on his football team from day one.
36:39
[SPEAKER_06]: The first day Jimmy Johnson has to do an inside drill, Zach was cracking his and he didn't stop cracking his till he retired from football.
36:46
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, and that's the end was always in the right place at the right time.
36:50
[SPEAKER_06]: We had, on our podcast, we interviewed with John Groot in the other day, and Groot was, he couldn't say enough good things about Zach Thomas and how he just was trying to, he didn't try to beat anybody on the door for defense other than Zach Thomas because he knew that was the guy that was, was that dude, do we have a Zach Thomas, I don't know, I doubt it because it's hard to find a Zach Thomas, but we do ask him do we ask him guys that can go there and crack some heads and make an impression like they have so far.
37:17
[SPEAKER_06]: They can and we'll see if they continue doing that throughout the rest of this training camp in the preseason games and hopefully into the season.
37:25
[SPEAKER_00]: I think because the secondary isn't a strength of the team, obviously, what around re-guys and kind of Lewis can possibly add in coverage from a linebackers, but I know with Lewis, he's more of a hybrid safety linebacker anyways, I got a feeling.
37:40
[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to be on the field just because they can help you in coverage so much where the secondary might be like I said.
37:48
[SPEAKER_00]: probably a weakness on this team.
37:49
[SPEAKER_00]: I would say right now.
37:50
[SPEAKER_00]: So I think we're going to see those guys on the field and create of ways.
37:53
[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a lot of nickel, which is the NFL, as anyways, they're always a nickel.
37:57
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's going to be a lot of that.
37:59
[SPEAKER_00]: And those guys will get their playing time, who starts who doesn't, who's got the green dot, who doesn't.
38:03
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like I said, that's the fall work itself out in time.
38:06
[SPEAKER_06]: Mike, Mike, the way we help these guys out in coverage is that front four.
38:10
[SPEAKER_00]: Right, that's not an S or run the ball in offense, so they're on the sideline.
38:18
[SPEAKER_00]: Run the ball.
38:19
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, no, yeah, but you're right get pressure.
38:23
[SPEAKER_00]: The Cleveland Ferrell thinks interesting because yeah, he has underachieved.
38:28
[SPEAKER_00]: He was picked way too high, but then ain't his fault.
38:30
[SPEAKER_00]: That his fault might be acting for.
38:32
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
38:32
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
38:32
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
38:33
[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
38:34
[SPEAKER_00]: To see the NFL network, this actually matters.
38:37
[SPEAKER_00]: I think he'll be able to help some being a veteran president like I don't if he can get you any sacks But I think sent in the edge top of the run I think that's probably where he's gonna help me the most so I think having someone there with his experience Was ex-healer on one side yet grant Jordan Phillips.
38:49
[SPEAKER_00]: I think the front is not gonna be what we've seen in years past Which album Philips now those guys, but I think it can be solid that secondary scares me the most though Probably out of any position group on this team if I'm not lying
39:01
[SPEAKER_06]: Mike.
39:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
39:02
[SPEAKER_07]: You're interested in Michael.
39:03
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
39:04
[SPEAKER_07]: I think I think they're going to find cornerbacks.
39:08
[SPEAKER_07]: But among the project it starters now of Juju Brist and Chris Johnson in the slot and Jason Marshall on the edge, if you could get either stormed up or Darrell Baker back in reasonable time early in the season, then you're really okay right there.
39:25
[SPEAKER_07]: Um,
39:26
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm worried about wide receiver and edge rusher, but the three problem positions.
39:30
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, those are three receiver and rusher.
39:34
[SPEAKER_07]: You know, the whole secondary Dante trader will be okay.
39:37
[SPEAKER_07]: We'll see about staying in or send a piece of starter, but aside from him, after that is not much safety.
39:43
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, I mean, that's it.
39:46
[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, that's it.
39:47
[SPEAKER_07]: That's it.
39:47
[SPEAKER_07]: Lewis more than the other.
39:48
[SPEAKER_07]: I mean, do we need?
39:49
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, you're putting 11 on a field, damn it.
39:52
[SPEAKER_06]: You know how many guys can hurt me?
39:53
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, I mean, I want to hear all the injuries.
39:56
[SPEAKER_06]: You guys want to put 22 teams.
39:58
[SPEAKER_06]: You got two cornerbacks already out.
40:00
[SPEAKER_06]: You have a question about here.
40:01
[SPEAKER_06]: Two.
40:02
[SPEAKER_00]: You got two cornerbacks on Puffin, the head coach said, not a good sight when they're saying this at the end of July.
40:08
[SPEAKER_00]: They'll be back somewhere this season.
40:09
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just say it.
40:10
[SPEAKER_06]: Think about injury.
40:11
[SPEAKER_06]: You talking about guys that start now.
40:13
[SPEAKER_06]: I'm going to start in the rate of game talking about the guy.
40:16
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm talking about death.
40:17
[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, now I'm talking about death again.
40:19
[SPEAKER_07]: Again, I see it.
40:20
[SPEAKER_07]: You got strainer and you got zane in or some beside him after that.
40:25
[SPEAKER_07]: You don't have much.
40:26
[SPEAKER_07]: And zane is not a proven starter.
40:27
[SPEAKER_07]: He's a proven special teams guy.
40:30
[SPEAKER_07]: But haven't seen it that I think corner as a whole, the secondary might be a concern.
40:37
[SPEAKER_07]: But corner, I think you're going to find some talent.
40:41
[SPEAKER_06]: All I care about for most of those dudes is just
40:45
[SPEAKER_06]: Just don't blow assignments and make tackles when you get an opportunity to make tackles.
40:50
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, a lot of times, you know, it's about, you know, I'm listening a lot of half, you know, you know, first year, but half, I'm not talking about a safety that made a bunch of interceptions.
41:01
[SPEAKER_06]: You know me, you made a bunch of chefs and maybe opportunity presents itself, but you just said it about task making a pick, but being in the wrong place, you know, that's more important to him.
41:11
[SPEAKER_06]: If you're in the right place, you're going to make plays in most situations when it comes to football, man.
41:17
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, I mean, at on a defense.
41:19
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, you also talking about talking about playing zone defense.
41:22
[SPEAKER_06]: You're going to get more in a certain room.
41:23
[SPEAKER_06]: So when a lot of men, you know, I don't give this meeting, you can work TV years.
41:26
[SPEAKER_06]: Some of the things he's talking about,
41:28
[SPEAKER_06]: If you've got a smart team that's playing the defense, playing everything in front of them, you're going to make plays.
41:33
[SPEAKER_06]: You're going to force teams to go 80, 75, 70 yards of score.
41:38
[SPEAKER_06]: It's going to be tough on teams, man.
41:39
[SPEAKER_06]: But bottom line is it being where you're supposed to be there, these dudes will be able to make some plays and get some stops and get off the football field, man.
41:47
[SPEAKER_06]: So I just like that, we got a lot of young guys that seem very smart and very versatile.
41:53
[SPEAKER_06]: And so,
41:54
[SPEAKER_06]: When it comes to that secondary part, you know more than I do, man, you've seen those guys out there.
41:59
[SPEAKER_06]: I think that, you know, these guys are starting to get better, man.
42:02
[SPEAKER_06]: And I think the biggest problem that young guys will have is misassimance and misassimance me, leaves the big plays, bus leave the big plays, and that's how teams get to be.
42:13
[SPEAKER_06]: We've seen some note, man, how mean?
42:15
[SPEAKER_06]: That may times we go into games, man, as a dolphins, and they've got a thirst-trained corner over here, a thirst-trained defensive vendor, taco doing this or that, and we don't take advantage of the situations.
42:27
[SPEAKER_06]: Because the guys are doing their assignments or doing their supposed to do.
42:31
[SPEAKER_06]: If they do that, they'll be okay and be able to get through it.
42:34
[SPEAKER_06]: And man, he's through it.
42:36
[SPEAKER_06]: That's what we have to have.
42:38
[SPEAKER_06]: We gotta have a bunch of guys, young guys, that can begin or just learn and do things.
42:43
[SPEAKER_06]: not making a big minimum of stakes over and over, if they make them over and over, getting won't be around.
42:47
[SPEAKER_06]: But making the same mistake twice, but also just being where you're supposed to be and things are going to happen for this football team.
42:54
[SPEAKER_06]: Now again, I know people like, oh, Jay, you know, you're such a, I'm the biggest home where when it comes to this football.
43:00
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't give a damn who you drafted.
43:02
[SPEAKER_06]: You should be proud of a game.
43:04
[SPEAKER_06]: I don't get put damn about anybody I want to say that but at the same time, no, I know what it takes for these guys, you know, to be successful in the football field and they don't all have to be superstars to be there.
43:15
[SPEAKER_07]: you know what you said and let me say this real quick you remind me of something when you're talking about these these corners and dd's being in the right spot.
43:23
[SPEAKER_07]: We're half said the other day you know we talk about how half months it's a tough physical team.
43:29
[SPEAKER_07]: He said I want corners that can get off of blocks.
43:31
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm one corners who are going to make tackles because that's the sign of a physical team that they've been coached right and that you have the right guys.
43:39
[SPEAKER_07]: So, you know, when I talk about the corners and I think they'll get the right guys, that's one thing half is going to be looking for.
43:46
[SPEAKER_07]: That's one thing that I liked about Taylor Cocoa, where she was going to be with this team that he was a tackling corner.
43:52
[SPEAKER_07]: He would come up and make that hit, but it kind of is a
43:56
[SPEAKER_07]: tell you what half once the mind set the type of player that he wants and we'll see this in the Washington joint practice.
44:04
[SPEAKER_07]: Are these guys tough?
44:06
[SPEAKER_07]: Do they come out and take advantage of it again?
44:09
[SPEAKER_07]: He's just having one joint practice against each team.
44:12
[SPEAKER_07]: You can have two practices against each team but half said that second day.
44:17
[SPEAKER_07]: Don't fight usually.
44:18
[SPEAKER_07]: right the team that got their butt kicked all they want to do is come out and fight.
44:21
[SPEAKER_07]: So the dolphins you got to impress half in this one practice.
44:26
[SPEAKER_07]: No BS come out tough, make the place, take advantage of the opportunity because from that standpoint you only get one shot to impress half.
44:35
[SPEAKER_07]: So let's see how tough this team is, how much they pick up what he's trying to tell them.
44:41
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and then you know in the joint practices, bro, you get tired of, you know, working with the same colors on your football team, working with the Winston.
44:48
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, you want to go out there and get some fresh meat out there, bro.
44:51
[SPEAKER_06]: And you finally, on the same team, you know, this whole time, these guys ain't been on the same team.
44:58
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, maybe all season program running and stuff lived and maybe you're competing for jobs with this dude.
45:03
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
45:03
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
45:03
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
45:04
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
45:04
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
45:04
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
45:04
[SPEAKER_06]: And how you get in joint practices and now you finally office in defense or wearing all wearing white or all wearing aqua, whatever it might be for these joint practices, man.
45:13
[SPEAKER_06]: And then if you see a fight on the defensive field,
45:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, offense, now we're going at it right now.
45:18
[SPEAKER_06]: Let's be like, you know, me, that's when you really come together as as a team is a lot of times during these joint practices, man.
45:24
[SPEAKER_06]: And I, I just know that, you know, these, this, this young group of guys and some of the older guys, man, they're going to, they're going to be.
45:33
[SPEAKER_06]: a really good unit because I think that they're going to force these dudes to really really enjoy being around each other.
45:40
[SPEAKER_06]: I think that we've seen that already.
45:42
[SPEAKER_06]: We saw what Malik Wilson's doing when he invited the guys up to Northern Florida for workouts and you know before they got back down here things like that.
45:49
[SPEAKER_06]: I think this team really really likes each other and you got to have the right people in the locker room that do those side of the tapes, man.
45:56
[SPEAKER_06]: You've got to, we want football players, we want some bad asses out here.
46:00
[SPEAKER_06]: We want some good dudes too that love the game, you know what I mean and want to bring everybody together that don't just go do their job and go to hell home.
46:08
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, you know, when I go home, you know, you're in the Y receive a group.
46:12
[SPEAKER_06]: I say, yo, you want to, well, you know, you want to go to Hooters with a quick man, you know what I mean?
46:17
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, get some wings and talk to football, get a couple beers, that's all this, man.
46:21
[SPEAKER_06]: That's all I want to go there for.
46:22
[SPEAKER_06]: But I, you just the bonding in general, man.
46:25
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, I just think that that's important for teams because you spend so much time with each other.
46:31
[SPEAKER_06]: And if these guys find a way to like each other, they'll love each other on the football field.
46:36
[SPEAKER_07]: And Jesus, twin piece now.
46:38
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, yeah, yeah, yeah, well, I know, but I'm dating myself.
46:41
[SPEAKER_06]: I know, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
46:59
[SPEAKER_06]: We had a discount car from Hooters that on the back of it says, even though these guys make all the money in the world, we're still going to get 50% off their tab.
47:08
[SPEAKER_06]: We've got to make sure we took care of that right there.
47:12
[SPEAKER_06]: There you go.
47:13
[SPEAKER_06]: I love it.
47:14
[SPEAKER_00]: All right, before we get to the, I try to tell you all one more topic and it just feels like I don't know how much information is out there on it, but Austin Jackson's heard again.
47:22
[SPEAKER_00]: And if was anyone else, they said, you know, okay, it's very good.
47:26
[SPEAKER_00]: But with him, and it's a toe injury, I believe, which is no joke because I know that as, and that's rough.
47:31
[SPEAKER_00]: I think you know, that's, that's no joke, but
47:34
[SPEAKER_00]: just as always seems like it's something with him.
47:36
[SPEAKER_00]: And once again, if it's minor and there just be no for an Airbnb and overly careful, that's fine, that's cool.
47:43
[SPEAKER_00]: If this is more, and then it's just like the more something's changed, the more they stay the same.
47:49
[SPEAKER_00]: And I guess we got a white and sea, but Perk is there any more information other than that out there?
47:54
[SPEAKER_07]: There's not.
47:55
[SPEAKER_07]: There's not.
47:55
[SPEAKER_07]: We just know that that half said that he is more day-to-day.
48:01
[SPEAKER_07]: But here's the thing with me again.
48:03
[SPEAKER_07]: It lands inside into half and Sully and how they think.
48:09
[SPEAKER_07]: Is this a symptom of them bringing Austin back too soon from from his injury?
48:15
[SPEAKER_07]: What I thought was when HN and Austin Jackson didn't do team stuff in many camp or OTAs, but they did individual.
48:25
[SPEAKER_07]: I thought, yes, they are bringing them along at a slow pace.
48:28
[SPEAKER_07]: They're not rushing them.
48:30
[SPEAKER_07]: Both of them were able to do team stuff 11 on 11 here in training camp.
48:35
[SPEAKER_07]: And early, there were no relapses, so I thought, okay, this is a patient group.
48:40
[SPEAKER_07]: Now, we've had a relapse, maybe it's just injury prone, Austin Jackson, and it's unrelated to last year, maybe they did bring them back too soon.
48:49
[SPEAKER_07]: If you did bring them back too soon, does that affect how you handle A-chan?
48:53
[SPEAKER_07]: If you did bring them back too soon, does that mean you have to cross-training taken proctor?
48:58
[SPEAKER_07]: If you did bring them back too soon, does that mean Charlie
49:01
[SPEAKER_07]: heck is not good enough.
49:02
[SPEAKER_07]: We need to go out there and find another right tackle.
49:05
[SPEAKER_07]: All of these things, how do they think?
49:07
[SPEAKER_07]: How do they handle things?
49:09
[SPEAKER_07]: It's insight, but with Austin, look, a good guy, but you need to know that he's going to be there.
49:18
[SPEAKER_07]: Charlie Heck is not a good enough backup plan.
49:21
[SPEAKER_07]: Uh, look, and I'll say this about Charlie Heck.
49:24
[SPEAKER_07]: Larry Borm last year started out looking like ass and training camp, and then he got you play decent.
49:29
[SPEAKER_07]: Right, tackle.
49:30
[SPEAKER_07]: Right.
49:31
[SPEAKER_07]: So maybe I'm too knee jerk on Charlie Heck, but again, how does how does ass think about this?
49:38
[SPEAKER_07]: What does he do?
49:39
[SPEAKER_07]: How does he react?
49:40
[SPEAKER_07]: Does he overreact?
49:41
[SPEAKER_07]: Does it affect a channel?
49:42
[SPEAKER_07]: Does it affect proctor?
49:44
[SPEAKER_07]: It's all insight into how they think and how they handle things.
49:47
[SPEAKER_07]: So I'm watching that situation, not just for Austin Jackson, but from the Sully and
49:54
[SPEAKER_06]: You know what it perk to eight I'm gonna tell you what boy chops have the heck of a camp right now You could you say how these tackles have been struggling my man chops and have it a pretty decent camp right now To giving both sides a little bit of trouble.
50:07
[SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, it's it's interesting to see what happens.
50:10
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, you know Offensive line in on three greatest have to work well as a unit man and we'll see what happens there But I was out there like you man like what the heck is heck doing that's all I still
50:21
[SPEAKER_00]: I think, and again, I'm not a football coach and I know they got a plan and I'm okay with the plan, but if they don't cross-trained Kate and Proctor Little, I think it's a mistake.
50:30
[SPEAKER_00]: I think because he's your second best right there.
50:32
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I know he's never played right tackle, but he was so good at left tackle in college.
50:37
[SPEAKER_00]: Cross-trained him a little and just in case of emergency, because with Austin Jackson, you might be in a situation.
50:44
[SPEAKER_00]: sooner resident later or just in case of emergency.
50:46
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'd rather have him ready.
50:47
[SPEAKER_00]: I know they'll probably have to waver wire.
50:49
[SPEAKER_00]: They might look for someone if they're not happy with the hacking like a week or two or three.
50:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Well that's fine too, but I think it's silly not to cross train themselves.
50:57
[SPEAKER_00]: I do think that's where he's going to end up eventually anyway.
51:00
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's right.
51:01
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I'm going to say it is Mike, they probably are cross-training.
51:04
[SPEAKER_06]: We just don't see it and they're not going to talk about it.
51:07
[SPEAKER_00]: That's 100% true.
51:08
[SPEAKER_06]: They're going to like, you can see it, walk through or anything that you might be doing that we don't know.
51:13
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, there's going to be some cross-training or lease or lease, definitely doing a walk through through.
51:18
[SPEAKER_06]: They'll be the hate might be over there doing some right tackle work, but we won't see it.
51:23
[SPEAKER_06]: because you're saying this and that's what it is and I get it.
51:26
[SPEAKER_06]: I would never show my hand on that either, you know, but Loki, he's probably cross-training and it probably even in meetings like, you know, King, you're at left guard right now, but see, look, and when they're talking about the right tackle, when they're when they're coaching any position, they're coaching everybody in that position.
51:44
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, you know, and if you're a smart pro, like, you know, if you're listening to what they're saying for the X, Z Y, you know, whatever we're to your slot, you, if you've been listening to everything they're saying because they're coaching that one guy or coaching everybody and smart football players, they'd sit there and listen everything just in case they got an opportunity or they need you to come in those situations.
52:04
[SPEAKER_06]: So hopefully behind closed doors,
52:08
[SPEAKER_06]: physical reps at right tackle, but definitely middle reps. And like Perk said, it might be time for him to get some some physical reps 200 and later, just just to have him there.
52:19
[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, here's the thing, if you have players that you don't feel a very intelligent, then you stick them in one position, if they can't, they don't think you can handle something, but I think he's an intelligent kid.
52:30
[SPEAKER_06]: I think he can do at least a couple things and then eventually, you know, I can burn everybody, cry about I can burn,
52:37
[SPEAKER_06]: He wasn't very good in anything, but he could play all of them.
52:41
[SPEAKER_06]: You know what I mean?
52:42
[SPEAKER_06]: So, how did he get it?
52:43
[SPEAKER_00]: He could play all of them well, but he could play all of them.
52:46
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm saying, that's what I'm saying.
52:47
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm saying.
52:48
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm saying now.
52:50
[SPEAKER_06]: Hey, take his make it too.
52:51
[SPEAKER_06]: That's what he said.
52:51
[SPEAKER_00]: He's great to have for him.
52:52
[SPEAKER_00]: He can play all five positions.
52:54
[SPEAKER_00]: He plays them all poorly.
52:55
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to see him on the field.
52:56
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm talking about.
52:58
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my god, that Lea, thank God.
53:00
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's another one with a career in McDonald's.
53:02
[SPEAKER_00]: Lea, I forgot about him.
53:03
[SPEAKER_00]: He just, I think so, Jake, bring it him back off.
53:05
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yeah, I'm playing Brewer 2 for that, but it's all right.
53:08
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, I mean, he traded, he traded up and around 2 to get him.
53:13
[SPEAKER_00]: to get him.
53:13
[SPEAKER_00]: It's spot.
53:13
[SPEAKER_00]: Try to throw it around.
53:14
[SPEAKER_00]: Pick.
53:14
[SPEAKER_00]: Pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick
53:43
[SPEAKER_06]: All right, guys, we touched on this a little bit, but I tried to tell you all, and I'm telling you right now that turf toe ain't just a sore big toe.
53:52
[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not.
53:53
[SPEAKER_06]: You know how many fucking times I heard that, BS?
53:56
[SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm.
53:57
[SPEAKER_06]: It has been driven, measurable grades, and those degrees aside whether you miss a series, miss a month, or the rest of your career, depending on what you're doing or living on Sundays.
54:09
[SPEAKER_06]: We all know that I lost my career.
54:11
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, the degrees, grade one is a stretch of the planar fit plate and soft tissue, tender little swollen.
54:17
[SPEAKER_06]: You can usually tape it up, grind it out and keep going.
54:19
[SPEAKER_06]: Grade two is a partial tear.
54:22
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, you're dealing with, you know, real swelling, bruising, limited range of motion, you're looking for, you know, a couple weeks minimum.
54:29
[SPEAKER_06]: Great three.
54:30
[SPEAKER_06]: Now, great three is complete rupture.
54:32
[SPEAKER_06]: Sometimes with sesmoid issues or joint instability, that's what I had.
54:37
[SPEAKER_06]: That one will switch you down for a long time and often ends with the knife.
54:41
[SPEAKER_06]: We know what the knife is, but um, or the degree.
54:44
[SPEAKER_06]: And three surgeries later.
54:46
[SPEAKER_06]: So that's how my career.
54:48
[SPEAKER_06]: And the same injury hits different though, completely different when it comes position.
54:52
[SPEAKER_06]: A right tackle, lives in the three points dance, and that's a generate power of that big toe every single snap, dry blocks, past sets, redirected edge rushes.
55:02
[SPEAKER_06]: You need that push-off in that ability to stay balanced under 300 plus pounds of force coming at you.
55:08
[SPEAKER_06]: Loose, that foundation, and the whole office in line feels it.
55:12
[SPEAKER_06]: Austin Jackson, we've been talking about him man, has been living in that world.
55:16
[SPEAKER_06]: He got stepped going and training camp last.
55:18
[SPEAKER_06]: Your suffered a bad eye for extension that mess with the bone and the cart leads.
55:23
[SPEAKER_06]: He tried to be, you know, take the conservative route.
55:25
[SPEAKER_06]: So he didn't lose the season.
55:27
[SPEAKER_06]: Re-engine it in the opener set out a long stress on IAR came back and played through the pain down the stress.
55:33
[SPEAKER_06]: Then has surgery after the year is over.
55:36
[SPEAKER_06]: Surgery.
55:38
[SPEAKER_06]: some that that's something that is described in the third degree right of a turf injury surgery is the absolute worst right now he's working his way back and says he's feeling a little faster and stronger but you see that he's out again and you know that's a big body who needs to you know the you know needs to have that toe to generate force and hold the ears he paid the price in this game had a prove he could still be the guy he probably has a
56:07
[SPEAKER_06]: so I couldn't bend it so much, you know, it probably has a tape job to hold the toe down.
56:12
[SPEAKER_06]: He probably needs a steel toe insert, you know, so he doesn't get stepped on again.
56:17
[SPEAKER_06]: Our silver can never do that, though, of course, you know, that's too big and too bulky.
56:21
[SPEAKER_06]: So I lived on the other side as a wide receiver in the late 90s, like November 99 against the Patriots.
56:27
[SPEAKER_06]: Got into a pile, foot gets crushed, left toe collapse, you know, got lit up, simple turf toe to most.
56:35
[SPEAKER_06]: But as a receiver, your whole game is plant, cut, and celebrate, and separate.
56:41
[SPEAKER_06]: That big toe is the last thing that pushes you off.
56:44
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, I have a break, first thing that you have to that's to absorb the plant when you stop and dig, and once it was compromised, the explosion and the shark cuts weren't the same.
56:54
[SPEAKER_06]: I was never the fastest person out there, but I tried to play through it because that's what you do.
56:59
[SPEAKER_06]: Miss some games, came back, got shots, kept going, but I was never quite the same after that.
57:06
[SPEAKER_06]: The injury and how it was managed is basically closed the book on my career.
57:11
[SPEAKER_06]: Different positions, different demands, some ruthless, the same ruthless injury.
57:16
[SPEAKER_06]: That's why I keep saying that turf toe has levels and the position you play decides how hard those levels hit.
57:23
[SPEAKER_06]: An offensive line that can sometimes power through more than a skill guy who's money is made on sudden change of direction.
57:30
[SPEAKER_06]: A receiver or running back loses the suddenness that separates them, attack or lose the drive in the anchor.
57:36
[SPEAKER_06]: I tried to tell y'all years ago how nasty this injury is when it gets past grade one.
57:42
[SPEAKER_06]: Now you're watching a young tackle fighting through the same battle I did just from a different spot on the field.
57:48
[SPEAKER_06]: Respect the grades, respect the position, and respect the one still grinding to get back on the grass.
57:54
[SPEAKER_06]: I really hope all things can get back out there.
57:57
[SPEAKER_06]: I hope the team learned something from my injury and my treatment.
58:01
[SPEAKER_06]: I know a lot of people are down on AJ,
58:06
[SPEAKER_06]: But plan on one foot against the NFL caliber defense event and that's before disaster, I wish him all the best and I hope we can all give him a chance and some grace.
58:17
[SPEAKER_06]: I try to tell you.
58:18
[SPEAKER_00]: Nice.
58:19
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's one entry too.
58:21
[SPEAKER_00]: So, Joke, yeah.
58:22
[SPEAKER_07]: Jews real quick.
58:24
[SPEAKER_07]: Tell us what happens with turf toe.
58:27
[SPEAKER_07]: How many ways can you get it?
58:28
[SPEAKER_07]: Because a lot of your standard is when your big toe comes back toward your body and such as your foot
58:36
[SPEAKER_06]: That's exactly right, Perkins.
58:37
[SPEAKER_06]: It's a hyper extension, man.
58:39
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
58:39
[SPEAKER_06]: It's a hyper extension where for me, I tore the tendon, the legament, the muscles, and both my seshmoid bones were displaced when I did mine.
58:49
[SPEAKER_06]: And so everything was okay, my other toes, but my big toe came back so far.
58:54
[SPEAKER_06]: Did it stress this whole every single thing.
58:57
[SPEAKER_06]: And then there's like, there's no, you have no power on that thing.
59:05
[SPEAKER_06]: But before I got the surgeries, I had still shanked, getting shot up, they're taking my toe down completely now like this.
59:13
[SPEAKER_06]: So you can't rock like that.
59:15
[SPEAKER_06]: You know what I mean?
59:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Right.
59:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Bigger shoe.
59:17
[SPEAKER_06]: I went from size 11 and a half to a 13 on that foot because that's so much stuff inside that shoe.
59:23
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, really just running on my heels and you got guys like Thai law and those guys trying to put their hands on you.
59:28
[SPEAKER_06]: It's a rap.
59:29
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, I can only run with beat on my left foot.
59:32
[SPEAKER_06]: I can only run out cutting rocks on the left side in cutting right option.
59:36
[SPEAKER_06]: Out cutting routes on the right side in cutting routes on the left side.
59:39
[SPEAKER_06]: It was, yeah, it was, it was a, it was a problem, man.
59:42
[SPEAKER_06]: But
59:42
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, you destroy everything.
59:44
[SPEAKER_06]: If you look at those degrees, I was just talking about one I had and I think the same thing with him when I heard about the hyper extension and all the things that happened to him, you know, he's got stepped on so he could probably do something on top of his foot so he doesn't get stepped on again, but the fact is you can't bend it.
59:59
[SPEAKER_06]: If you've been that thing, that's for me.
1:00:03
[SPEAKER_00]: Sounds like the worst injury ever, actually, good lord.
1:00:05
[SPEAKER_00]: It really seems, well, mine out here.
1:00:07
[SPEAKER_06]: I would love the people to get their big toe cut off.
1:00:10
[SPEAKER_06]: And then see how they need to rest their life.
1:00:11
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I know what I mean.
1:00:13
[SPEAKER_00]: Come back like that.
1:00:13
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'm attached to mine.
1:00:14
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm good.
1:00:15
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
1:00:16
[SPEAKER_06]: They want to fuse my toe.
1:00:18
[SPEAKER_06]: So it wouldn't have fused mine.
1:00:19
[SPEAKER_06]: So it wouldn't move at all.
1:00:21
[SPEAKER_06]: And another doctor say you want to just cut the tendon.
1:00:23
[SPEAKER_06]: So I wouldn't fill the pain or the nerves.
1:00:25
[SPEAKER_06]: I wouldn't fill the pain.
1:00:26
[SPEAKER_06]: Like I said, you know what?
1:00:27
[SPEAKER_06]: I guess that means it's it for me.
1:00:29
[SPEAKER_06]: You know what I mean?
1:00:29
[SPEAKER_06]: That's all.
1:00:30
[SPEAKER_06]: That's all mine ended up here.
1:00:32
[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
1:00:33
[SPEAKER_07]: Hi, Perk, you're up next.
1:00:35
[SPEAKER_07]: All right, I tried to tell y'all, we might not see the real Malik Willis until September 13th, the regular season opener at Las Vegas.
1:00:47
[SPEAKER_07]: The reason I say that is again, he hasn't used his legs yet.
1:00:52
[SPEAKER_07]: And we probably aren't going to see him use his leg that full speed until the season opener number one.
1:00:58
[SPEAKER_07]: Jeff Hathley has told us, he wants Malik to stay in the pocket and training camp, get used to being a pocket passer.
1:01:06
[SPEAKER_07]: And number two, Malik does not have an avenue to use his leg that full speed.
1:01:13
[SPEAKER_07]: Joint practice, you don't go at the quarterback like that.
1:01:17
[SPEAKER_07]: Usually in a preseason game, you don't go at the starting quarterback like that.
1:01:21
[SPEAKER_07]: There's kind of respect.
1:01:22
[SPEAKER_07]: Now, the back up, maybe you go at him and you put a hit on him, but that starting quarterback doesn't feel that regular season in sensitivity coming at him.
1:01:32
[SPEAKER_07]: So, Malie is going to have to learn how to be a pocket pass or right now and learn how to play with one arm tie behind his back for the preseason.
1:01:41
[SPEAKER_07]: Further complicating the path for success to for Malie.
1:01:46
[SPEAKER_07]: You don't have a good pass protection package.
1:01:48
[SPEAKER_07]: You don't have good wide receivers.
1:01:50
[SPEAKER_07]: Your number one tidy and Greg dosage is sideline right now.
1:01:54
[SPEAKER_07]: So you would like to use your legs, but you can't.
1:01:59
[SPEAKER_07]: We're not going to see their true milk until September 13th when things get really in sense.
1:02:05
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to be brief on this.
1:02:06
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to cut it off right there.
1:02:08
[SPEAKER_07]: But when you seem to leak in the joint practice and if you see him in a preseason game, remember this is not the full Malik Willis about 40, maybe 50% of his game is using his legs, take that into consideration when you evaluate Malik.
1:02:26
[SPEAKER_07]: You aren't seeing the full package until probably the season opener.
1:02:31
[SPEAKER_07]: I tried to tell you.
1:02:32
[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, yes, heard.
1:02:35
[SPEAKER_06]: How crazy are the fans going to go when they see him go for a run during the regular season.
1:02:39
[SPEAKER_07]: Man, he, I mean, I, I'm just going to limit it and say, maybe we'll see some Lamar Jackson type moves.
1:02:47
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm not going to say Michael Vick.
1:02:48
[SPEAKER_07]: I hope it's Michael Vick.
1:02:50
[SPEAKER_07]: Right.
1:02:50
[SPEAKER_07]: But it's going to be exciting.
1:02:52
[SPEAKER_07]: It's that whole new dimension.
1:02:54
[SPEAKER_07]: And that's not a shot at two at all.
1:02:56
[SPEAKER_07]: It really is.
1:02:57
[SPEAKER_07]: It's just a credit to Malice.
1:02:59
[SPEAKER_07]: Right.
1:03:00
[SPEAKER_07]: And again, we aren't going to see that until probably the season opener, we'll see the full elite that new dimension of the league.
1:03:06
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm really looking forward to that.
1:03:08
[SPEAKER_06]: And also, Perk, will we still be afraid of our quarterback getting hit because we've seen how upset we been or worried we've been when our quarterback's gotten hit.
1:03:16
[SPEAKER_06]: Will we still feel the same?
1:03:19
[SPEAKER_07]: Like, I think you'll have a pretty good feeling that Malik will get up and be fine and he'll bounce up.
1:03:25
[SPEAKER_07]: That's what I'm thinking.
1:03:27
[SPEAKER_07]: I'm thinking Malik will bounce up as opposed to going back hurts or my arm hurts.
1:03:32
[SPEAKER_07]: But I think he'll bounce up and we'll feel really good about it.
1:03:35
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, not go away.
1:03:36
[SPEAKER_00]: Just don't slide three our short of the first time, Mark.
1:03:39
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's key to.
1:03:40
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't slide the board.
1:03:42
[SPEAKER_00]: What about important?
1:03:43
[SPEAKER_00]: Just know the first time Marker is it's all I'm saying.
1:03:46
[SPEAKER_00]: That's great, tell y'all to it.
1:03:47
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a bonus one.
1:03:50
[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
1:03:53
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, well look, man.
1:03:54
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, everyone's getting all scientific and shit.
1:03:56
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, juice is dropping medical terms.
1:03:58
[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
1:04:17
[SPEAKER_02]: Consider the fall.
1:04:18
[SPEAKER_02]: Hold on.
1:04:19
[SPEAKER_02]: Nice.
1:04:20
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, see how much she ain't working, man.
1:04:23
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, go.
1:04:25
[SPEAKER_02]: There it is.
1:04:25
[SPEAKER_02]: Now for years, the Miami Dolphins practiced football by well practicing football-ish.
1:04:33
[SPEAKER_02]: Seven on sevens, one on one's.
1:04:35
[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody looking great for Instagram, quarterbacks throwing passes in a clean pocket that exists only in fairy tales.
1:04:44
[SPEAKER_02]: receivers catch in touchdowns while the offensive linemen are off somewhere in another zip code wondering if they still have a job.
1:04:51
[SPEAKER_02]: But then a long came Jeff Hathley.
1:04:55
[SPEAKER_02]: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome.
1:04:57
[SPEAKER_02]: to halfly laboratories.
1:05:00
[SPEAKER_02]: See, I tried to tell you, this dude isn't coaching football.
1:05:04
[SPEAKER_02]: He's conducting experiments.
1:05:06
[SPEAKER_02]: He's got clipboards, hypotheses, variables, irreversible.
1:05:11
[SPEAKER_02]: He's over here looking at linebackers like interesting.
1:05:15
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see how this specimen reacts to 3rd and 2.
1:05:18
[SPEAKER_02]: Meanwhile, Mike McDaniel would have been like, uh, uh, let's just run another play.
1:05:24
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the difference because Hathley is teaching players, plays.
1:05:30
[SPEAKER_02]: He's teaching them football.
1:05:32
[SPEAKER_02]: Think about what Dante Trader said.
1:05:34
[SPEAKER_02]: He's teaching us the game through the game.
1:05:37
[SPEAKER_02]: Bingo.
1:05:38
[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
1:05:39
[SPEAKER_02]: That's the whole thesis.
1:05:41
[SPEAKER_02]: Bill Nye would have been proud.
1:05:43
[SPEAKER_02]: The scientific method goes, observe, hypothesize, experiment, analyze, repeat.
1:05:50
[SPEAKER_02]: Jeff Halfleys method, second and ten.
1:05:53
[SPEAKER_02]: 3rd and 2, go online, 2 minute drill, heavy personnel, nickel package, analyze, repeat, same process, different lab coat, and I love that.
1:06:06
[SPEAKER_02]: Because football isn't played in a vacuum, it isn't all right boys go run play 37.
1:06:12
[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's what's the down, what's the distance, who's on the field, who's tired, who's blitzing, what's the situation, that's football, it's contextual.
1:06:24
[SPEAKER_02]: It's problem-solving.
1:06:26
[SPEAKER_02]: It's chess with shoulder pads on.
1:06:28
[SPEAKER_02]: And then, oh, then I saw the part where halfway basically looked at seven on seven drills and said, nope, I stood and applauded because he's right.
1:06:39
[SPEAKER_02]: Seven on seven has its place.
1:06:41
[SPEAKER_02]: Technique, absolutely.
1:06:43
[SPEAKER_02]: Timing, sure, entertainment without question.
1:06:47
[SPEAKER_02]: Twitter loves it.
1:06:49
[SPEAKER_02]: YouTube shorts love it.
1:06:51
[SPEAKER_02]: Fans love watching a receiver moss a corner.
1:06:54
[SPEAKER_02]: But guess what?
1:06:55
[SPEAKER_02]: On Sundays, Max Cross B isn't politely waiting off to the side while your quarterback finishes three important fees.
1:07:02
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a past rush.
1:07:03
[SPEAKER_02]: There's chaos.
1:07:05
[SPEAKER_02]: There's timing.
1:07:06
[SPEAKER_02]: There's consequences.
1:07:08
[SPEAKER_02]: Halfly literally said seven on seven creates bad habits because quarterbacks don't feel pressure and DBs lose their internal clock.
1:07:16
[SPEAKER_02]: That.
1:07:17
[SPEAKER_02]: that's football science.
1:07:19
[SPEAKER_02]: He's looking at cause and effect.
1:07:21
[SPEAKER_02]: If we practice fake football, don't be surprised when we play fake football.
1:07:27
[SPEAKER_02]: Meanwhile, he's got the Dolphins lining up in 11 on 11 because, and this is my favorite part, that's what the actual game is.
1:07:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Aaron, who were said at vests, we're not here playing flag football.
1:07:40
[SPEAKER_02]: Can I get an amen?
1:07:43
[SPEAKER_02]: And now they're going to tackle and camp.
1:07:46
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my goodness, somewhere in an NFLPA representative just needs absolutely no reason.
1:07:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Before anybody starts in a grave and Super Bowl champs on the Lombardi replicas, let's call ourselves, none of this guarantees wins.
1:08:02
[SPEAKER_02]: Science doesn't work like that.
1:08:04
[SPEAKER_02]: Experiments still have to produce results.
1:08:07
[SPEAKER_02]: But here's what it does tell me.
1:08:09
[SPEAKER_02]: Jeff Haffley isn't building a highlight reel.
1:08:12
[SPEAKER_02]: He's building habits.
1:08:13
[SPEAKER_02]: He's building instincts.
1:08:15
[SPEAKER_02]: He's building football players who don't have to think on Sundays because they've already lived it, lived those moments on Wednesdays.
1:08:23
[SPEAKER_02]: And if you ask me, that's a whole lot more valuable than winning the Daily Twitter clip championship.
1:08:29
[SPEAKER_02]: So the next time someone asks why this training camp feels different, just tell him, it's simple.
1:08:34
[SPEAKER_02]: The dolphins finally hired a scientist instead of a magician, and I tried to tell you.
1:08:37
[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
1:08:50
[SPEAKER_00]: I got a tough act to follow.
1:08:51
[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm ready.
1:08:52
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know though.
1:08:53
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see so I brought it pretty good, but let me wrap this up because today I have a story of inspiration achievement in a very special Miami Dolphins fan.
1:09:02
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for telling me all.
1:09:03
[SPEAKER_00]: There's no such thing as a bad Miami Dolphins fan.
1:09:06
[SPEAKER_00]: You can go on Twitter or X any day the week and you'll see my immediate offense fans fight and sometimes people in the media fight and in arguing well like cats and dogs and usually it's over the dumb as shit you can imagine It's the land of the toys I always say we're lonely people just go to fight with each other with that said though there is still no such thing as a bad Miami to offense fans some fans are only are overly positive that's cool some fans are overly negative kind of understandable and you haven't won like a 25 year
1:09:35
[SPEAKER_00]: There are fans every, I'm that spectrum of overly positive, overly negative fans everywhere on the spectrum in between.
1:09:41
[SPEAKER_00]: And a few weeks back, I don't know if you're on this show, Perquino, O.J.
1:09:45
[SPEAKER_00]: wasn't so bad because I did it, I tried to tell y'all about the celebrity Miami Dolphins fans.
1:09:50
[SPEAKER_00]: And I left one name off that list because many don't view him as a celebrity, but believe me folks, he is.
1:09:58
[SPEAKER_00]: This Miami Dolphins fan is someone who wears his heart on his sleeve and isn't afraid to share his thoughts on the organization.
1:10:05
[SPEAKER_00]: And this Miami Dolphins fan just had a piece written about him in the New York Times.
1:10:11
[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
1:10:12
[SPEAKER_00]: The New York Times.
1:10:15
[SPEAKER_00]: You probably ask him, who is this Miami Dolphins fan that I'm speaking of?
1:10:20
[SPEAKER_00]: Frank, the tank from Barstool School.
1:10:22
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's it.
1:10:24
[SPEAKER_00]: The tank is the man.
1:10:26
[SPEAKER_00]: OK, you might know Frank from his spots on Barstool Sports.
1:10:31
[SPEAKER_00]: You might know from his social media's Epic Rants about the mats that are all over social media.
1:10:36
[SPEAKER_00]: You probably know Frank loves the mats, but he also loves the Miami Dolphins just as much as he loves the mats.
1:10:41
[SPEAKER_00]: I've yet Frank on this podcast many, many times over the years.
1:10:44
[SPEAKER_00]: And I know he's done other Miami Dolphins podcasts as well to events frustration and let it all
1:10:50
[SPEAKER_00]: And some people think, when they hear Frank Ratten and Raven and yelling and screaming about the dolphins, then it's all in that.
1:10:58
[SPEAKER_00]: Believe me, folks, it's no act.
1:11:01
[SPEAKER_00]: This is from like late 2024, first part, 2025.
1:11:05
[SPEAKER_00]: Folks, you tell me if this is acting mind you, you could be walking down the streets
1:11:19
[SPEAKER_04]: Chris, mother fucking career, is got to be the most incompetent, make a fool, that has ever been fucking GM of any sport in any lane, this guy is a joke, he's a fucking clown, he doesn't take anything fucking serious, he's laughing at us, saying hit it, I need to hit it.
1:11:38
[SPEAKER_04]: We want to register you guys over a fucking backs you we can you know he just told a family say fuck you Army copin I now jump for life is I know deep dark thinking funny owner I can't get fire no matter what the fuck I do he has not tried to probably he's been the organization for 20 five years Yeah, I'm gonna play all the things when he five years and it gets worse Kevin Ramsay did cabs hit coming can't travel can't take place
1:12:06
[SPEAKER_04]: It always must be as guilty as it had things as you're trying to call that is you're When I don't try to open it here, what they're going to take it be 2014 So probably going to try and fix it again Bad things you can take it a fix this thing and he's an idiot
1:12:26
[SPEAKER_00]: Each your heart out lend men well Miranda.
1:12:29
[SPEAKER_00]: You cannot men who fax her emotion like that Sometimes the rants are very emotional and angry like that, but sometimes Frank is damn funny like this So Mike we can't do anything to when you back.
1:12:43
[SPEAKER_01]: What if what if the dolphins won the Super Bowl this year?
1:12:46
[SPEAKER_01]: What if the dolphins just went every game for the rest of the season?
1:12:49
[SPEAKER_01]: Is it still, is that still a bad thing?
1:12:52
[SPEAKER_03]: I have a better chance of hooking up with Sydney Swenney.
1:12:55
[UNKNOWN]: Did you do that?
1:12:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you do that with Sydney Swenney Super Bowl.
1:12:59
[SPEAKER_04]: My mean, this team is awful.
1:13:02
[SPEAKER_04]: They are awful.
1:13:03
[SPEAKER_04]: The offensive line is awful.
1:13:05
[SPEAKER_04]: Your second dairy is awful.
1:13:07
[SPEAKER_04]: Your defense is awful.
1:13:09
[SPEAKER_04]: They've allowed 23 points to Daniel Jones and Patriots.
1:13:17
[SPEAKER_00]: Now why am I playing these clips?
1:13:19
[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you take a few minutes to read this near Times article, you will hear a story about a little boy growing up in the 80s who did not get much love from his mom and dad.
1:13:28
[SPEAKER_00]: A little boy who had a very rough childhood, his father wasn't physically abusive to him, but he was verbally and mentally abusive towards him.
1:13:37
[SPEAKER_00]: His father didn't like spending time with him, never took him to any games.
1:13:42
[SPEAKER_00]: And when the Metz lost in 1988, NLCS, his father blamed him, not a joke, because it was one of the few games he got to watch with his father on TV, so when they lost his father blamed him.
1:13:51
[SPEAKER_00]: His parents told him he was emotionally messed up and they constantly made fun of him all throughout high school.
1:13:59
[SPEAKER_00]: And I see, I'm not even doing this whole article just because it was a brutal child who had read the article for more context.
1:14:05
[SPEAKER_00]: And those are the things that stuck with
1:14:07
[SPEAKER_00]: to this day or up until recently, I guess.
1:14:09
[SPEAKER_00]: That child who'd let him to get to 530 pounds in here died.
1:14:15
[SPEAKER_00]: And a few years ago, Frank headed to something about his weight, so he began walking.
1:14:19
[SPEAKER_00]: And boy, walking is what he did.
1:14:21
[SPEAKER_00]: Today at August 5th, Frank completed his 1,043th consecutive day of walking.
1:14:28
[SPEAKER_00]: He is down from 530 pounds to 283 pounds.
1:14:30
[SPEAKER_00]: His A1c is down from 11 to 5.4.
1:14:36
[SPEAKER_00]: his story has gotten the attention of Arnold Schwarzenegger earlier this year and Frank flew out to California to meet Arnold and learn how to pump out and lift weights to add that to his walking regime or regimen.
1:14:51
[SPEAKER_00]: Arnold has even asked Frank to speak at the weight lifting summit this year
1:14:58
[SPEAKER_00]: is bigger than ever.
1:15:00
[SPEAKER_00]: He's consistently ranked on cameo's leaderboard and done over 12,000 cameo's in his lifetime.
1:15:06
[SPEAKER_00]: He has over 1 million followers on all forms of social media.
1:15:10
[SPEAKER_00]: Some current and former meds players, even though Frank is brutal to him, have embraced him and take it with a good laugh.
1:15:17
[SPEAKER_00]: Side note, earlier this year, Frank was in a meds game.
1:15:20
[SPEAKER_00]: and he entered into a raffle to win a game-used bet of struggling Metzalfielder Lewis Roberts Jr. whose average was under 200.
1:15:28
[SPEAKER_00]: Frank won the raffle.
1:15:30
[SPEAKER_00]: His response?
1:15:31
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the bet can't be that used.
1:15:36
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, thanks, relationship with his father was strange.
1:15:39
[SPEAKER_00]: This past December, Frank was flying across country for something to do with bar stool, you know, long layover in the city where his father lived.
1:15:48
[SPEAKER_00]: They decided to meet.
1:15:49
[SPEAKER_00]: When they met Frank's father, for the first time ever in his life, saw Frank in a new light.
1:15:54
[SPEAKER_00]: As they were talking and hanging out fans just came up to Frank, interrupted them as for pictures, as for autographs, where Tom how much they love for the first time, Frank's father didn't view his son as a loser.
1:16:05
[SPEAKER_00]: And for the first time Frank's father saw that his son made something of himself.
1:16:09
[SPEAKER_00]: His father died shortly thereafter.
1:16:11
[SPEAKER_00]: And on a personal note, we hear at this website, DolphinsTalk.com, have another podcast hosted by Josh Katsker, and a few years ago, Josh's son around Christmas was in a hospital for three or four days.
1:16:23
[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't know what was wrong with him.
1:16:25
[SPEAKER_00]: It was kind of scary.
1:16:26
[SPEAKER_00]: Frank, we've been on this podcast with me.
1:16:28
[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't really know Josh.
1:16:29
[SPEAKER_00]: He heard this story.
1:16:31
[SPEAKER_00]: reached out to Josh personally, told him he's thinking about him.
1:16:34
[SPEAKER_00]: He's praying for him because that's the kind of guy Frank is once you get past the bluster of the rants.
1:16:40
[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, the ranting and raving might not be for everybody, but just know that's a good man right there and it's all 100% genuine, which leads me to this man.
1:16:49
[SPEAKER_00]: each year.
1:16:50
[SPEAKER_00]: The NFL has one fan of each team that's named the NFL fan of the year.
1:16:54
[SPEAKER_00]: Frank the tank needs to be the 2026 Miami Dolphins fan of the year.
1:16:58
[SPEAKER_00]: This is an awesome story.
1:16:59
[SPEAKER_00]: He loves this Miami Dolphins football team.
1:17:01
[SPEAKER_00]: He has a frustration.
1:17:03
[SPEAKER_00]: We all have.
1:17:04
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just not afraid to let it out.
1:17:06
[SPEAKER_00]: And literally at any moment or any place like the streets of Manhattan.
1:17:09
[SPEAKER_00]: A juice session, you'll get mad after some losses on the post game show.
1:17:12
[SPEAKER_00]: We all got a little Frank the tank in us at the end of the day.
1:17:15
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's be honest and I think I know the NFL doesn't like farstool And even if he did get all the votes, they probably wouldn't pick him to win But we as fans have to do the right thing and I'm in a Frank the tank to be the 2026 Miami dolphins fan of the year
1:17:29
[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're wondering, what Frank thinks about this upcoming season, let him tell you in nine seconds.
1:17:45
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Frank ain't changing for anybody.
1:17:46
[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you're both in front of the year, Frank gonna be Frank.
1:17:49
[SPEAKER_00]: But I think this guy has story, the weight loss, the upbringing with the child.
1:17:54
[SPEAKER_00]: It's an awesome story.
1:17:56
[SPEAKER_00]: I hope people understand him more.
1:17:58
[SPEAKER_00]: And he was scarred, but this is a good man at the end of the day.
1:18:02
[SPEAKER_00]: And he's lost this weight, he's inspiring so many others to lose weight.
1:18:06
[SPEAKER_00]: And Frank to take Miami Dolphins fan fan the year.
1:18:08
[SPEAKER_00]: I tried to tell y'all,
1:18:18
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but some of my funny is how some of them are just funny because he's so mad about stuff, but that's a good dude and if you read that story that was a rough childhood that no one should have to go through and it helps you understand putting the context
1:18:39
[SPEAKER_00]: why he is this way in so many ways.
1:18:41
[SPEAKER_00]: So, Kudos to Frank, we love Frank the take.
1:18:43
[SPEAKER_00]: We're a pro-Frank the take podcast.
1:18:45
[SPEAKER_00]: You're always having always will be, um, Frank's the best.
1:18:48
[SPEAKER_06]: Great stuff, Mike.
1:18:50
[SPEAKER_06]: Great stuff.
1:18:50
[SPEAKER_06]: Great stuff, everybody.
1:18:51
[SPEAKER_06]: That was, yeah.
1:18:51
[SPEAKER_00]: We're a peanut trainer, man.
1:18:53
[SPEAKER_06]: Great, please.
1:18:54
[SPEAKER_06]: That was awesome.
1:18:54
[SPEAKER_00]: That was awesome.
1:18:55
[SPEAKER_00]: That was awesome.
1:18:56
[SPEAKER_00]: That was awesome.
1:18:57
[SPEAKER_00]: That was awesome.
1:18:58
[SPEAKER_06]: That was awesome.
1:18:59
[SPEAKER_06]: Everybody, man.
1:19:01
[SPEAKER_06]: Great stuff, man.
1:19:02
[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah.
1:19:03
[SPEAKER_06]: That was awesome, man.
1:19:04
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, you said it, Mike.
1:19:06
[SPEAKER_06]: I love, I love this segment.
1:19:08
[SPEAKER_06]: You know, and you guys, man, really brought tonight was probably one of my favorites because you guys all brought some really really good stuff as usual, man So great job I can't break down training camp because I know people get excited for it.
1:19:19
[SPEAKER_00]: So put the end of the day.
1:19:21
[SPEAKER_00]: It is August 5th You know, Caleb Douglas will catch two passes.
1:19:24
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think he's Jerry Rice.
1:19:25
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a full Everybody say people say people were trashing him.
1:19:29
[SPEAKER_00]: I night two of the drafts when we took him I can't put me took him this time.
1:19:32
[SPEAKER_00]: I was saying he's Jerry Rice.
1:19:34
[SPEAKER_00]: So I want to
1:19:36
[SPEAKER_06]: Mike, everybody's got their niche when it comes to my childhood.
1:19:38
[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, that's your whole band.
1:19:39
[SPEAKER_06]: There's got their niche when it comes.
1:19:41
[SPEAKER_06]: I try to tell you, man.
1:19:42
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not telling you, man.
1:19:43
[SPEAKER_00]: Frank is a, look, that New York, it's a New York Times article about Frank the tank.
1:19:47
[SPEAKER_00]: It's unbelievable.
1:19:48
[SPEAKER_00]: And it was, you know, very eye-opening for those who didn't know was story, which he doesn't open up about a lot, but that's a good dude right there.
1:19:54
[SPEAKER_00]: And like I said, what he did with Josh from our website was just, he didn't need to do that.
1:19:59
[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't even know him, but she follows her content stuff.
1:20:01
[SPEAKER_00]: So he kind of knew him through that really nice man.
1:20:04
[SPEAKER_00]: And we love Frank.
1:20:06
[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I'm gonna tell you this right here, you know, if he's killing cameo like that, Frank's making a few bucks.
1:20:15
[SPEAKER_06]: On top of bars, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:20:18
[SPEAKER_06]: Frank's doing our right, too, man.
1:20:20
[SPEAKER_06]: And it was, well, let's do it.
1:20:21
[SPEAKER_06]: That's a nice good way, man.
1:20:22
[SPEAKER_06]: That's good stuff.
1:20:23
[SPEAKER_00]: And if he's hanging out with Arnold, some going to make a movie about his life, I'll tell you that too.
1:20:26
