So we have a brand new episode of Bro Job this week and we are so excited to welcome Kyle. Hi Kyle. Hi. Hey Kyle. Thank you so much for having me. I am honored. I'm so stoked. This is going be so much fun. I feel like such a bro. Let's get to know you. Just like a little background. How old are you? What do you do? Where are you from? So I am 40 years old. I just turned the big four-o. I'm from Southern California, born and raised. Spent some time in New York.
• 2:57
Every person in their early 20s has to have a New York experience. It should be mandatory after college or if you don't go to college, you have to go live in New York City. I think it's a rite of passage because if you haven't lived in New York, you have not experienced like...
• 4:52
Yeah, I mean, the Bro Job episode, right? So mean, one of the best days in New York is like when the skirts come out. so what is it with men and their obsession with the summer dress? I think you haven't seen it for so long. Like it's been in the closet and you've been seeing the jeans and the longer coats. parkas. Yes. And then all of sudden there's legs and you're like... Yeah, exactly. OK, OK. So that's just like why men go absolutely feral.

olive oil and vinegar relationships before. But yeah, not like super high maintenance, but high maintenance. Give us an example, like what would she do? man, I feel like I've tried to like get these memories out of my brain. I would be getting ready and then she would ask me like, hey, can you steam this for me? Or like that was like, come on, I'm trying to get out of here, I'm hungry.
• 9:07
for sure. Yeah. Does it indicate your character? I think like what the other person is willing to tolerate makes such a big difference. The guy who can't stand to wait like 15 minutes is going to think any girl is high maintenance. Yeah. Versus like, you know, some guys have a higher tolerance. Like they know. So, Kyle. Yeah. It's time for tool time. Tool time. Do you guys remember that show? Yes. my gosh. What was that show called? Home Improvement. Improvement. Yes. With Tim Allen. Yes. Tim Allen and JTT.
• 11:27
Well, please describe this looks like a sex toy, but it's not. This is a curling iron of some sort that would probably give you really good curls wrapped around those bulbous looking things. We were convinced we would have got you with this one. Wait, shut the fuck up. Yeah, that was so good. Thank you. This is literally a bedhead.
• 13:43
it's so brutal and it's hard. Like I feel like proactive has made so much money over the years. But when it comes to like teens and their acne, so much of it is hormonal and proactive just doesn't address any of that. know. But Accutane is like really intense. Hardcore. So walk us through like when did you start? What was it like? my gosh, man. I was so excited to start it and I was about 16, I think. But I kept like
• 15:59
That's what they say. But I mean, yeah, in esthetician school, they would say like, you can't have been on Accutane for like, what was it, six months and a year for like certain treatments? Yeah. Yeah. That's what I love about this show is not only are we getting hotter, we're getting smarter. Amen. We love that. Just dropping knowledge, Yeah. Yeah. Accutane was amazing for me. Really helped me a lot. And the proactive stuff was good too, but you're right. It doesn't have anything to do with the hormones. That's so.
• 18:19
I feel like they must get like overstimulated because it's like too many colors, too many smells. It's a lot. don't know. For me, it's calming. It's like so intense. It like reverses itself and like calms me down. Yeah. I get that. It's like a shot of energy for me. Yeah. I see that. Yeah. And being on the cosmetic floor, you know, yeah, similar. So what in your own words does like skincare mean to you? Confidence. I'd start with that. Self-care. Beauty. Handsome.
• 20:46
Is that a great ploy to get men to bathe or? I think it's a great ploy to get men to buy their soap. There's probably a ton of 20 something year old guys who are like, dude, I want some of that bath water. It sold out so fast and apparently they're going on eBay for hundreds, maybe even more. Holy cow. I feel like Dr. Squatch is this generation, so what, Gen Alpha, Gen Z's Axe body spray? Yeah. For sure.
• 22:41
I learned something really upsetting about Sydney Sweeney today. And I'm looking at my phone, I'm like, I wonder what this could be. And I watched the dots, the dots dot dots. And then she sends a screenshot. You were like, I just learned that the Dr. Squash soap with Sydney Sweeney's bath water has a circle on the bar of soap. I sat there, I thought about it for 10 seconds. And then my brain went, my God.
• 24:47
I feel like I'm getting judged right now. No, no, no, no. I'm actually genuinely curious. I think their ads are engaging. We're talking about it, right? Yeah, I think they do a really good job marketing something that guys used to at least probably not think about very much, which is soap. But I think it must be a big thing because you got all the Old Spice stuff. You got these guys with the soap.
• 27:08
I tell people if you live in a city, washing with a cleanser is important because there are a lot more pollutants in our air. And those pollutants can cause your skin to actually age faster. These funny little things called tree radicals. So if you live in a place where there's not a lot of pollution, you can probably get away with not washing your face in the morning. Okay. LA has the highest smog in the United States. to Westlake, baby. It's a vibe. Okay.
• 29:19
So let's kind of walk you through like what does a serum do? Basically a serum, it's going to be a lightweight product, usually like a liquid or a lighter form cream like the one in your tube. And it's more concentrated, right? With skincare active. like that. And so vitamin C is great, but during the night...
• 31:32
What you're supposed to do is like the most viscous. like the most liquidy thing first to the thickest thing at the end. Got it. I've kind of been doing that. What does kind of mean? Sometimes I'll forget to put the serum on and then I'll just slap it on afterwards because I love the glow that I get from it. Wait, OK, hold up. up. put the serum on after the moisturizer? All the time. What it sounded like, you don't always put a moisturizer on during the day. True. OK, Kyle, wait. Take one step back. I know. I know. Let me explain.
• 33:50
is that you're using an Olay cream with retinol in it. So, I mean, where do we even begin? So, an Olay cream with retinol, it kind of hints to the idea that you're getting a retinol with your cream. It's kind of like a yes and no. You know what I mean? A retinol is best going to serve you as a serum, right? Because it needs to penetrate. What a cream does is it works to of lock things in, right? So, the serum needs to penetrate and then a cream is going to come over on top and lock it in. Makes sense. But if the cream and the serum
• 35:45
level up, you can go up to 0.5%. They go all the way up to about 1 % with the ordinary. I think they have like six or seven different serums with retinols and they'll literally tell you like, now you can start switching up to the next one. Amazing. Like now you can graduate. Yeah, that's cool. So this is a nighttime serum. Correct. Only. Yeah. Don't use it in the morning. Perfect. It'll sensitize your skin too much. Yeah. So that Olay cream is like, you know, I feel like it's...
• 38:01
Cause who doesn't like a little bit of color in their face? It makes you look good. So you gotta tell us more about your spray tan journey because I'm just so excited. I wanna know everything. Okay, so we were going to South Africa in the winter, our time where it's summer over there and my wife and I are both white, right? She's not as white as me. She's Greek. So she has like naturally beautiful olive colored skin, but she tells me I'm going to go get a spray tan.
• 40:22
So I used to be a competitive dancer, and I would compete nationally and internationally. And I remembered my dance teachers would always tell me, they're like, sus, those lights are harsh. And if you don't have tan legs, you're gonna look green under the lights. And I remember I went to my first competition and I saw some footage of me and I was like, that's not cute. And so all the girls at the dance competitions would get full on spray tans. But I just use self-tanner on my legs, because I was like, I don't know what all that is at 13.
• 42:21
Really? course, cut it since a few times. Sure, sure, sure. How long is your hair? So long. Longer than my hair? Should I take it down? Yeah, can But then I have to put it back up. That's okay. Let's see it. I'll do it. I washed it with my shampoo. I got to tell you, the reason I got the shampoo. Oh my God, cut it. It's so beautiful. I've never seen your hair down It's way longer than my hair. Oh, it's so long. I love this. Yeah, thank you. Wow. I don't wear it down ever because it gets stuck in my beard and I...
• 44:37
You do. I do a double shampoo. And are you shampooing the long part of your hair? I just take the suds from the top and then work them down towards the okay, okay. Okay, that's fine. I do two shampoos and then I would also have to do a conditioner when I was doing a shampoo and conditioner. With the two in one, I'm like in, pump, pump, ch-ch-ch-ch, rinse, pump, a little more pump, ch-ch-ch-ch, rinse and I'm done. Here's a recommendation from us. You should incorporate
• 46:54
So what I know about finasteride is that it doesn't necessarily like make your hair grow back, but it just stops hair from being lost, So you have to take it earlier rather than later. You can see some regrowth, depends on the guy. I did see some. Yeah, it's really worked for me and I've had, I can't think of any side effects. So you were telling us that you do something a little bit different with your dosage. Yeah, doctor I went to in New York,
• 49:13
So how do you feel about skincare now after our convo? Empowered. Empowered! Yes. Love that. Yeah. So good. psyched. I'm so stoked for my new products. Do you feel like a changed man? I do. I feel like I've totally leveled up. What's one thing you're going to try after this? I'm definitely going to wear sunscreen. Yay. Every day. Thank you. So proud. I've got to get some new serums. I can't wait to get my new serums. It's time. Yeah.
