- 0:42Speaker 1: We thank you for being with us in sports for
- 0:44Speaker 1: the program is brought to you by Central Texas Sports Madison.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Scott Clindennon is here with us today.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Mallory is here in the second hour as well, and
- 0:56Speaker 1: we thank you for joining us on hump down a
- 1:01Speaker 1: good news about A and M safety. Bryce Anderson. The
- 1:04Speaker 1: team finally put out a statement today saying we are
- 1:10Speaker 1: thankful to report that no catastrophic injury was found. Bryce
- 1:15Speaker 1: is in great spirits and our focus now is on
- 1:17Speaker 1: supporting him through his recovery.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Mike Elko.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Answered questions about Bryce on the SEC conference call today,
- 1:30Speaker 1: saying that he's still in the process of recovering and
- 1:34Speaker 1: so it's hard to gauge a timeline right now, but
- 1:37Speaker 1: we do expect that we'll have him back at some point.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Florida associate head coach and running backs coach Jabbar Juluke
- 1:48Speaker 1: has been suspended three games for his involvement in an
- 1:52Speaker 1: altercation before the Gators lost to LSU and bat Ruge Saturday.
- 1:57Speaker 1: The SEC and Florida jointly announced his suspension yesterday. One
- 2:03Speaker 1: of those games will be against Texas A and m
- 2:06Speaker 1: Jabar's conduct during the pregame altercation reflects behavior that is
- 2:10Speaker 1: unacceptable and not aligned with the standards of the Southeastern Conference.
- 2:14Speaker 3: At Greg Sanki, in his statement, coaches.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Are expected to be leaders and to de escalate tense situations,
- 2:21Speaker 1: and that did not happen in this circumstance. Things got
- 2:25Speaker 1: chippy between the Gators and the Tigers during pregame warmups,
- 2:30Speaker 1: with multiple scuffles taking place. Jaluke issued an apology, saying
- 2:36Speaker 1: he reacted in a manner I'm not proud of. It's
- 2:39Speaker 1: unclear what exactly happened to result in his suspension, but
- 2:43Speaker 1: his apology mentioned behavior toward a young athlete. Colorado's experiment
- 2:51Speaker 1: with quarterback Ryan Stobb is over for now. The Buffaloes
- 2:54Speaker 1: will start Caden Salter at quarterback Saturday night against Wyoming.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Salter started for Colorado against Georgia Tech and Delaware. He
- 3:06Speaker 1: transferred to Colorado the offseason after four years at Liberty.
- 3:11Speaker 1: The Buffaloes are one and two. They will play BYU
- 3:16Speaker 1: after taking on Wyoming Saturday evening. Game three of Rangers
- 3:23Speaker 1: Astros is tonight. That game is at seven to ten.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Are we carrying that game? It's Wednesday night.
- 3:32Speaker 1: We have like a coaches show or something tonight instead.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I don't know. We may be carrying that game next door.
- 3:41Speaker 1: It's here, okay, six forty Jacob de Gram, Christian Javier.
- 3:49Speaker 1: The Rangers lost for the second night in a row.
- 3:53Speaker 1: They are four games now behind Houston, and if they
- 3:59Speaker 1: lose tonight, they'll lose the tiebreaker that they would gain
- 4:03Speaker 1: over the Astros.
- 4:06Speaker 3: De Gram twelve and seven with a two eight to two.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Era hasn't been as good lately, has given up quite
- 4:13Speaker 1: a few home runs.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Last night.
- 4:17Speaker 1: The Astros scored six runs in the first four innings
- 4:22Speaker 1: and then held on to win six to five. The
- 4:26Speaker 1: tie run and the go ahead run both on base
- 4:30Speaker 1: in the eighth and the ninth innings. Cody Freeman was
- 4:36Speaker 1: won for three. Wyatt Langford had a stolen base to
- 4:39Speaker 1: become the youngest Texas ranger in franchise history, at age
- 4:43Speaker 1: twenty three, to hit twenty home runs and steal twenty
- 4:48Speaker 1: bases in a season. Shoey O'tani had a no hitter
- 4:53Speaker 1: through five innings against the Phillies last night. He struck
- 4:58Speaker 1: out five, walked one through sixty eight pitches. When Dave
- 5:04Speaker 1: Roberts came, he told reporters after the game, he asked
- 5:07Speaker 1: him how he was feeling. He said, I feel okay,
- 5:10Speaker 1: but Roberts decided to remove him. The Dodgers were up
- 5:14Speaker 1: four to nothing at the time, but they lost the
- 5:19Speaker 1: game nine to six. Roberts said, We've been very steadfast
- 5:23Speaker 1: in every situation as far as innings for his usage,
- 5:27Speaker 1: from one inning to two to three, to four to five,
- 5:30Speaker 1: we haven't deviated from that. I was trying to get
- 5:34Speaker 1: his pulse going forward, continuing go in the sixth inning.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I'm not going to have a plan for five innings,
- 5:40Speaker 1: and then he pitches well and say, hey, now you're
- 5:42Speaker 1: gonna go for six. He's too important, and yeah, the
- 5:48Speaker 1: Dodgers can probably afford to give up one game to say,
- 5:52Speaker 1: show Aotani going forward. Meanwhile, the Big Dumper is going crazy.
- 6:00Speaker 1: He hit his fifty fifth and fifty sixth home run
- 6:04Speaker 1: last night, which gives him a major League record for
- 6:09Speaker 1: most home runs in a season by switch hitter, passing
- 6:12Speaker 1: Mickey Mannel. And when he hit number fifty six, he
- 6:17Speaker 1: tied Ken Griffey Junior's franchise record. The Seattle Mariners are
- 6:26Speaker 1: on a heater right now at just the right time.
- 6:30Speaker 1: They remain ahead of the Astros in the West, and
- 6:33Speaker 1: the Astros will host the Mariners for three games coming up.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Jim Nill of the Dallas Stars confirms that they have
- 6:46Speaker 1: not yet signed high scoring forward Jason Robertson to a contract.
- 6:52Speaker 1: He wants to see what the market is, says Nil.
- 6:55Speaker 1: We want to see where the market is. Things are
- 6:58Speaker 1: kind of on hold, but we communicated all summer. They
- 7:02Speaker 1: know our stands, they know what we're looking for, and
- 7:06Speaker 1: I'm confident we're going to get something done. And severe
- 7:12Speaker 1: drought conditions in Hawaii at Kapalua have led to the
- 7:18Speaker 1: consistent closing of the plantation course where they open the
- 7:23Speaker 1: PGA Tour every year. The twenty twenty six tournament won't
- 7:30Speaker 1: be there. The PGA is considering other options, including somewhere
- 7:35Speaker 1: else in Hawaii or perhaps California or Florida. We'll see
- 7:41Speaker 1: how that works out. Players probably want to go to
- 7:43Speaker 1: Hawaii somewhere. I'm guessing the players' wives and wags want
- 7:47Speaker 1: to go to Hawaii for sure. All right, coming up,
- 7:52Speaker 1: we are going to look at last night's Astros Rangers game.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I will tell you that at tomorrow Jason and Jared
- 8:03Speaker 1: will be sitting in We will have a high school
- 8:07Speaker 1: report tomorrow. I have no idea what they have planned.
- 8:10Speaker 3: I never do.
- 8:12Speaker 1: And on Friday, Young Ryan will be here. I will
- 8:16Speaker 1: be having my weekly regular Friday visits with Kirk Boles
- 8:22Speaker 1: of the Houston Chronicle and Tony Catalina of the Austin
- 8:27Speaker 1: American Statesman. That is Friday, and on Monday we'll be
- 8:31Speaker 1: back with the writers round table. No game this weekend
- 8:37Speaker 1: kind of weird. So next week will be game week
- 8:40Speaker 1: with the Auburn Tigers coming in, and of course Auburn
- 8:43Speaker 1: is in Norman to play Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon.
- 8:48Speaker 3: All right, we're going to take a break. We will
- 8:51Speaker 3: come back.
- 8:51Speaker 1: The final lap is brought to you by a co Insurance.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Inco Insurance is now a part of Hub International, bringing
- 9:00Speaker 4: you more choices, better value, and even greater expertise. While
- 9:04Speaker 4: our name has changed, we're still the same local team
- 9:06Speaker 4: you know and trust, now with even more to offer
- 9:08Speaker 4: from business insurance to personal protection and employee benefits. We're
- 9:12Speaker 4: still committed to protecting what matters most with the personalized
- 9:15Speaker 4: service you expect now with the strength of Hub International
- 9:18Speaker 4: behind us, more resources, more solutions, still your team and
- 9:22Speaker 4: co Insurance a Hub International company, so you're ready for tomorrow.
- 9:28Speaker 5: He's got three wins in the last seven races in
- 9:30Speaker 5: the truck Series.
- 9:31Speaker 6: His name is Lane Riggs, and he picked up another
- 9:34Speaker 6: w this past weekend at the short track at Bristol.
- 9:37Speaker 7: I really feel like we've been on a roll for
- 9:39Speaker 7: a while now. We've had some misfortunes, some things that
- 9:42Speaker 7: really didn't go our way, and some missteps by us,
- 9:45Speaker 7: but not forely. We've had competitive speed and race winning
- 9:47Speaker 7: speed almost every race this year, so we are peaking
- 9:49Speaker 7: at the right time though, right when it counts, right
- 9:51Speaker 7: when it matters, inside the playoffs, And yeah, what a
- 9:53Speaker 7: better place to do it at Bristol.
- 9:54Speaker 5: I wish I could have.
- 9:54Speaker 7: Done it last week at Darlington, but this makes up
- 9:56Speaker 7: for all that for sure. I wouldn't say surprise. I
- 9:59Speaker 7: mean a little surprise. I mean with the truck race.
- 10:01Speaker 7: But I knew once we got everybody got pretty ironed out.
- 10:04Speaker 7: I was like, Okay, it's gonna hopefully run green here,
- 10:06Speaker 7: and I was praying that it would run green, but
- 10:09Speaker 7: you know, I had the confidence nobody was gonna pit anyways.
- 10:12Speaker 7: So when I was out front, I was just managing
- 10:15Speaker 7: my gap, managing my tires, just trying to make sure
- 10:17Speaker 7: if we did have another restart that I'd be okay.
- 10:19Speaker 7: And just the top lane launched so well, and I
- 10:21Speaker 7: was so fast on the top, like when I got
- 10:24Speaker 7: to like seventh up to third, and like one lap
- 10:27Speaker 7: on one of those restarts, I just knew that I
- 10:30Speaker 7: was going to be able to hold them off.
- 10:31Speaker 8: It's really it's gonna be really hard for anybody to.
- 10:32Speaker 7: Pass me with the lead, So just manage my stuff
- 10:35Speaker 7: to make sure that it just made it easier on me. Uh,
- 10:37Speaker 7: when if we did have one. Yeah, I mean I
- 10:39Speaker 7: think we showed that tonight. You know, pressures on. We're
- 10:41Speaker 7: inside the playoffs and I think his pit crew made
- 10:44Speaker 7: a mistake there and we got some clean air out front.
- 10:46Speaker 7: So we just got to, like I said, keep the
- 10:47Speaker 7: pressure applied.
- 10:48Speaker 9: I know that we can do it.
- 10:49Speaker 7: We got the speed to compete, like you said, and
- 10:51Speaker 7: it all comes down to one race, and you just
- 10:53Speaker 7: got to be perfect that one night.
- 10:54Speaker 5: This is the final LAPP.

- 11:29Speaker 11: I'm Carlos and I'm Ebony and a little thing we
- 11:32Speaker 11: love about the Chick fil A Pretzel Cheddar Club is
- 11:34Speaker 11: the tangy deson with the pretzel bun. It takes it
- 11:37Speaker 11: to a whole nother level. It goes perfectly with the
- 11:39Speaker 11: chicken and the cheddar cheese and the bacon. Man, you
- 11:42Speaker 11: know how much you love bacon, and I love the
- 11:45Speaker 11: different varieties, grilled, spicy, the original. It gets you nice
- 11:49Speaker 11: and excited for fall.

- 12:18Speaker 13: On the road again. I just can't wait to get
- 12:22Speaker 13: on the road again. Why my love is making music
- 12:28Speaker 13: with my friends. I can't wait to get a road again,
- 12:33Speaker 13: on the road again, going places that I've ever been,
- 12:41Speaker 13: seeing things that I may never see again. I can't
- 12:45Speaker 13: wait to get all the road again, on the road again.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Like the man the Dept.
- 12:52Speaker 1: We go down the Highway. We're the best of friends,
- 12:57Speaker 1: insisting in the world can't turned out and also discussed
- 13:03Speaker 1: last night by the Rangers performance. I turned the game
- 13:06Speaker 1: off and was flipping and I found an old Willie
- 13:11Speaker 1: concert called Angels and Outlaws from LA on Access and
- 13:18Speaker 1: just unbelievable how many musicians were on that show. I mean,
- 13:24Speaker 1: I can't begin to name them all, but Toby Keith
- 13:28Speaker 1: was there, and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones was there,
- 13:33Speaker 1: and Jerry Lee Lewis was there. He came out and
- 13:36Speaker 1: set the stage on Fireman as he always does, Lee
- 13:41Speaker 1: Ane Wollmock. There were just just you know, singer after
- 13:46Speaker 1: singer at at this deal that they did. It was
- 13:52Speaker 1: a benefit for something and I've seen it several times,
- 13:55Speaker 1: but men, there were a lot of musicians.
- 13:58Speaker 3: James Cohn was the that was Sunny Corleone was the
- 14:04Speaker 3: EMC man.
- 14:05Speaker 1: That was pretty cool. So yeah, so I'm watching that
- 14:10Speaker 1: instead of that horrible game, and then i flip back
- 14:14Speaker 1: just in time for the eighth inning, and I'm going,
- 14:17Speaker 1: what in the wild wild sports is going on here?
- 14:21Speaker 1: And as they have all year, and last night was
- 14:25Speaker 1: pretty much a snapshot of the entire season for the
- 14:27Speaker 1: Texas Rangers. So it's a bullpen game for the Astros.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Aj blue Ball gets a start. He's pitching, you know,
- 14:38Speaker 1: like Bob Gibson or somebody. He throws three innings, gets
- 14:42Speaker 1: seven strikeouts. The Rangers are just flailing. They look like
- 14:47Speaker 1: they've looked for frankly, the majority of the season. They
- 14:50Speaker 1: are clueless at the plate. They're swinging at balls that
- 14:53Speaker 1: are a foot outside or in the dirt or over
- 14:56Speaker 1: their head, and it's just ridonculous. Merrill Kelly had his
- 15:03Speaker 1: worst outing since he joined the Rangers. He pitched just
- 15:07Speaker 1: three innings, gave up six runs, nine hits, only had
- 15:13Speaker 1: one strikeout.
- 15:15Speaker 3: It was not pretty. It wasn't pretty at all.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I mean, he got pulled with nobody out in the
- 15:24Speaker 1: fourth inning, in which the Astros ended up scoring four times.
- 15:32Speaker 1: So they're up six to nothing. Games over. Cody Freeman
- 15:39Speaker 1: hits a home run and I didn't see it because
- 15:42Speaker 1: again I'd given up by then. So at six to
- 15:46Speaker 1: one going into the eighth, there's two outs in the eighth, okay,
- 15:49Speaker 1: two outs again, nobody on two outs. The Rangers scored
- 15:54Speaker 1: four runs, and I'm going okay, they've been doing this
- 15:58Speaker 1: throughout the winning streak. They've been getting behind most of
- 16:03Speaker 1: the year, mostly not coming back, but they have either
- 16:08Speaker 1: seven or eight come from behind wins in the seventeenth
- 16:13Speaker 1: inning or later, which is the second most in Major
- 16:17Speaker 1: League Baseball. Okay, and my thing is the reason it's
- 16:23Speaker 1: the second most in Major League Baseball is because they
- 16:26Speaker 1: have had more opportunities than anybody in baseball to come
- 16:30Speaker 1: from behind, because they're always playing from behind. Burger has
- 16:38Speaker 1: just been terrible during in this series. In two games,
- 16:44Speaker 1: he is zero for seven, okay, with like four or
- 16:47Speaker 1: five strikeouts. He's one of the worst, flailing away at pitches,
- 16:52Speaker 1: just not good, I mean just not good. A doles Garcia,
- 16:58Speaker 1: they sat him down, he was so bad, so he
- 17:01Speaker 1: didn't start. But Bochie pinch hits him for Hellman in
- 17:06Speaker 1: the eighth inning, and some of us are going, Helman's
- 17:09Speaker 1: been great, right, the former Aggie player, he's been great
- 17:15Speaker 1: for the Ragers. Why are you pinch hitting him and
- 17:20Speaker 1: bringing a dooles Garcia? And well, Adoles has owned the
- 17:24Speaker 1: Rangers historically, right, and so they bring him in first pitch,
- 17:29Speaker 1: Adoles cranks and ball RBI right off the bitch. I'm
- 17:33Speaker 1: going Okay, good move, Bruce Boci, nice move. I'll give
- 17:40Speaker 1: you a stat. In the last four seasons, Adoles has
- 17:46Speaker 1: forty six runs batted in against the Astros. That's the
- 17:50Speaker 1: most of any major league player. Okay, we know that
- 17:56Speaker 1: Adoles owns the Astros.
- 18:00Speaker 3: We know.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Jose Altuve owns the Astros. He has two hundred and
- 18:08Speaker 1: forty career hits against the Astros. That is the eighth most.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Note now seventh most hits versus the Rangers ever. Okay,
- 18:22Speaker 1: Cal Ripken Jr. Has and Garrett Anderson have two hundred
- 18:27Speaker 1: and forty eight each. He has ninety eight RBI against
- 18:32Speaker 1: the Rangers. Okay, and last night couple of ribbis. One
- 18:40Speaker 1: on a sackfly. He had a bunt that was just
- 18:44Speaker 1: a beautiful butt he laid down to get runners to
- 18:47Speaker 1: second and third, and I'm pretty sure that led to
- 18:51Speaker 1: at least a run when he did that. So it
- 18:56Speaker 1: was it was the entire season for the Ranger in
- 19:00Speaker 1: one game, you saw the worst, you saw the best.
- 19:05Speaker 3: You saw them.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Then after they made this comeback and they make it
- 19:10Speaker 1: six to five and you're thinking, here we go. They
- 19:16Speaker 1: leave the the go ahead and tying runs on in
- 19:19Speaker 1: the eighth, they leave the go ahead and tying runs
- 19:23Speaker 1: on in the ninth and Kukaracha. First, we're going to
- 19:28Speaker 1: hear from Merrill Kelly about his outing.
- 19:33Speaker 14: Marylyn is what felt off for you today?
- 19:36Speaker 15: Just locations of certain ones.
- 19:39Speaker 16: You know, not all of them weren't bad pitches, but
- 19:40Speaker 16: they just you know, in games like this that mean
- 19:43Speaker 16: a lot. And you got to be pretty precise with
- 19:45Speaker 16: the execution, especially against the team the A you just saw,
- 19:49Speaker 16: and be as good at working on bets. You know,
- 19:53Speaker 16: obviously I had some some tough luck, but also I
- 19:57Speaker 16: got to be better at executing a couple of pitches,
- 19:59Speaker 16: especially with you know, two strikes.
- 20:02Speaker 14: What adjustments did you try to make throughout the auning?
- 20:05Speaker 15: Just locate better.
- 20:09Speaker 16: This is a big series coming in and you guys
- 20:11Speaker 16: have lost the first two, you had ten to go.
- 20:15Speaker 5: What's the mindset here going forward?
- 20:17Speaker 17: You get.
- 20:20Speaker 16: I'm done, Just keep going. I mean, there's nothing really
- 20:23Speaker 16: we can do other and keep going. We obviously know
- 20:25Speaker 16: the situation, we know the gravity. You know, it's tough
- 20:28Speaker 16: obviously losing those first two games here with it being
- 20:31Speaker 16: a direct you know series for our future, but no
- 20:35Speaker 16: thing we can do is turn all.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Right, sorry they cut him off there. That that was
- 20:42Speaker 1: Merrill Kelly. He was terrible. The Rangers now sitting at
- 20:48Speaker 1: seventy nine and seventy three, having lost three games in
- 20:52Speaker 1: a row. They are four games behind Houston and they
- 20:58Speaker 1: are tied six up in the series. So whoever wins,
- 21:04Speaker 1: and if Houston wins, I think that's it for Texas.
- 21:10Speaker 1: They would be, you know, five back with nine to play.
- 21:14Speaker 1: And they've got other people now that they've brought back in,
- 21:16Speaker 1: including Cleveland, into the chase for the wild Card. Seattle
- 21:23Speaker 1: is really Kansas City was just about dead anyway, and
- 21:27Speaker 1: Seattle's taking care of them. Boston, you know, is certainly
- 21:33Speaker 1: there in the hunt. But we said that this series,
- 21:39Speaker 1: the Rangers had to take two out of three, right,
- 21:41Speaker 1: they needed two out of three. They went in two
- 21:43Speaker 1: games behind. Now they're four games behind. They take one,
- 21:47Speaker 1: they leave three games back, but at least they have
- 21:50Speaker 1: the still have that tie breaker. They do not have
- 21:53Speaker 1: the tiebreaker with Seattle. I don't think they're going to
- 21:56Speaker 1: have to worry about Seattle. I don't. I still think
- 22:00Speaker 1: Seattle is going to be that team in the Al West.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I said that six weeks ago. I stayed with that
- 22:09Speaker 1: and the way the big dumper is going, nobody.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Can get him out.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I mean, they know this guy is hitting home runs
- 22:16Speaker 1: right and left, and he's still hitting home runs. He
- 22:19Speaker 1: is on a roll. He has hit fifty six of
- 22:22Speaker 1: them and he's not finished. There's ten games left. Let's
- 22:27Speaker 1: hear from Bruce Bouchee Rangers manager Boach.
- 22:32Speaker 14: Loss is a loss, but an unbelievable amount of fight
- 22:35Speaker 14: from this team the last two innings. How would you
- 22:37Speaker 14: describe what we saw from them there late right right?
- 22:40Speaker 17: A tremendous fight, had the winning run on there to
- 22:43Speaker 17: eighth and ninth. They battled hard, and you'll get off
- 22:46Speaker 17: to a rough start there and get down five runs,
- 22:49Speaker 17: and bullpen did a great job and they were fighting
- 22:53Speaker 17: to get back in it, and they did and I'm
- 22:56Speaker 17: just missing that one more hit obviously, But you had
- 22:59Speaker 17: a love you know, they just kept going, kept going
- 23:02Speaker 17: against some tough pitching too, So you know, keep doing this.
- 23:07Speaker 17: That's what we have to do to get to where
- 23:09Speaker 17: we want to go.
- 23:10Speaker 14: Often struggled early. It seemed like they were struggling specifically
- 23:13Speaker 14: against spin.
- 23:14Speaker 1: What were you.
- 23:15Speaker 14: Seeing from them there against Sue spin? Just bring the ball?
- 23:20Speaker 17: Well, yeah, I mean they got good stuff fastball too.
- 23:25Speaker 17: Their starter. You know, he's been throwing the ball well
- 23:27Speaker 17: for him, and you know, he looked like I had
- 23:30Speaker 17: some hop to it, and you know, and then yeah,
- 23:32Speaker 17: they they threw a lot of spin. But we had
- 23:37Speaker 17: some good at bats as the game went. That's that's
- 23:39Speaker 17: what I loved in the fight. And we got down,
- 23:42Speaker 17: you know, Kelly, you know, he threw the ball right,
- 23:46Speaker 17: and you know they didn't. You know, they hit you know,
- 23:48Speaker 17: the ball's hard, but when they didn't, we just couldn't
- 23:51Speaker 17: give him a hit it at somebody and that's what,
- 23:54Speaker 17: you know, costs us some runs there.
- 23:56Speaker 14: Tomorrow is the closest this team has experienced to and
- 23:59Speaker 14: must win game at this point. But what kind of
- 24:02Speaker 14: help does it give this group knowing that they're going
- 24:04Speaker 14: into that game off of a couple of good innings
- 24:06Speaker 14: like they had tonight.
- 24:06Speaker 17: Yeah, you know, hopefully that momentum ok area into tomorrow,
- 24:10Speaker 17: get some runs early instead of trying to come from behind.
- 24:14Speaker 17: That's always big. And yeah, they're all must win now
- 24:17Speaker 17: we're down and you have some catching up to do.
- 24:20Speaker 17: So that's how we're looking at it. And they played
- 24:22Speaker 17: like it. And yeah, if you look at those last
- 24:25Speaker 17: two three innings. That's that's what I love about them.
- 24:28Speaker 3: That's Bochy de Grom I mentioned on the mound.
- 24:34Speaker 1: After tonight, the Rangers have tomorrow off, they go to
- 24:40Speaker 1: they go back home. They will play Miami, they'll play Minnesota,
- 24:49Speaker 1: and then they finish at Cleveland. Okay, they'll have nine
- 24:54Speaker 1: games left after tonight, and the the Astros will have
- 25:02Speaker 1: nine games left after tonight, including three against the Mariners. Big, huge,
- 25:10Speaker 1: large series there. It's interesting because I I guess the
- 25:17Speaker 1: Astro fans wanted to beat the traffic last night. When
- 25:21Speaker 1: I turned the game back on, there's like half the
- 25:24Speaker 1: stadium is gone.
- 25:28Speaker 3: It was kind of weird.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I'm going, you're you're winning, like for the second night
- 25:33Speaker 1: in a row, why don't you stay and enjoy it.
- 25:38Speaker 1: There were certainly some Ranger fans there, no doubt, but
- 25:45Speaker 1: I was surprised at how many empty seats there were
- 25:48Speaker 1: later later in the game, very surprised.
- 25:52Speaker 3: I would.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I don't know, having won two in a row, I
- 25:56Speaker 1: don't know. Will this be the best crowd they've had
- 25:58Speaker 1: of the three game series? Yeah? Probably at thirty five
- 26:03Speaker 1: last night. My guess is they'll get at least that tonight.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Christian Javier is on the mound for the Astros. Let
- 26:14Speaker 1: me get my astro's cheat sheet here. I just had
- 26:19Speaker 1: that so many, so many papers. You think I do
- 26:26Speaker 1: this all from memory, but I really don't. I have
- 26:32Speaker 1: helpers here. I don't know what happened to my astros.
- 26:37Speaker 1: I'm losing it and I didn't mean my mind, but
- 26:41Speaker 1: probably that too. I just had it anyway. I was
- 26:47Speaker 1: going to give you some Hobvier stats. But did I
- 26:51Speaker 1: throw that away into unintentionally? Caleb's digging through the trash
- 26:55Speaker 1: to see if I trashed my astro's information seat sheet. No,
- 27:01Speaker 1: all right, well, let's hear somewhere. I'm sure i'll find
- 27:03Speaker 1: it by five thirty or six six o'clock this evening.
- 27:07Speaker 1: And but the the Walking Astro's Historian, we'll be here
- 27:16Speaker 1: in a little bit. Scott Clin dinn't so. I'm sure
- 27:18Speaker 1: he knows all of that stuff that I was that
- 27:22Speaker 1: I was trying to search for. But JAVIERA is on
- 27:26Speaker 1: the mound, and we'll see what happens. The Astros are
- 27:32Speaker 1: one game back still of Seattle. There are a half
- 27:36Speaker 1: well Seattle played, were they a half before the game?
- 27:39Speaker 1: I guess last night and they both ended up winning.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Is that what happened?
- 27:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Seattle, thank thanks.
- 27:48Speaker 18: Seattle didn't play.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Monday, okay, and that that was the half interesting Okay,
- 27:57Speaker 1: so they're they're a half game back, is what you're
- 27:59Speaker 1: telling me?
- 28:01Speaker 14: Correct?
- 28:02Speaker 3: And does Seattle play tonight?
- 28:05Speaker 17: Yes?
- 28:05Speaker 1: Okay, they're playing at Kansas City again tonight. I'm assuming
- 28:09Speaker 1: they've been in Kansas City. Yes, okay, okay, so they're
- 28:13Speaker 1: playing all the way through the week and they do
- 28:16Speaker 1: play Kansas City and they they oh, okay, it was Tuesday.
- 28:21Speaker 1: It's a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday series. So they played. Did
- 28:24Speaker 1: they play an afternoon game tomorrow? Is that a getaway day?
- 28:28Speaker 1: Does it say? Uh? They will play Kansas City Seattle
- 28:31Speaker 1: again tomorrow before coming Okay, so it is an afternoon
- 28:36Speaker 1: game and they will play before coming in to Houston Friday,
- 28:41Speaker 1: Saturday Sunday. What time are those games this weekend? Friday
- 28:44Speaker 1: Saturday Sunday, I know, Friday night, six six ten, all right,
- 28:49Speaker 1: seven ten, six ten, and sixteen. It's kind of weird
- 28:55Speaker 1: that Houston has those Saturday night games at six at
- 28:59Speaker 1: s because a lot of teams like on Saturday night
- 29:07Speaker 1: that they'll start later than their normal start right because
- 29:10Speaker 1: it's it's Saturday.
- 29:12Speaker 3: But okay, so there you go.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's it's gonna be a fun to
- 29:20Speaker 1: the finish. And I, you know, Rusty Berson and I
- 29:24Speaker 1: text and I'm going, Look, if you would have told
- 29:27Speaker 1: me August first that the Rangers would be playing meaningful
- 29:32Speaker 1: games with ten games left in the season, I would
- 29:36Speaker 1: have said, you're crazy. There's no way. So, like I said,
- 29:42Speaker 1: I they have fought. It hadn't been pretty, it hasn't
- 29:47Speaker 1: been clean. And by the way, the Astros they're very aggressive.
- 29:53Speaker 1: You talk about, you know, wearing down pitchers, but these
- 29:56Speaker 1: guys are. They come up swinging. But the difference is
- 30:02Speaker 1: they're aggressive within the zone. Okay, they have done an
- 30:06Speaker 1: outstanding job with contact in this series against Ranger pitching.
- 30:12Speaker 1: They really have, and which you know they haven't necessarily
- 30:15Speaker 1: been doing consistently, but they have done a really good
- 30:19Speaker 1: job with that. Galeria has been part of our community

- 31:15Speaker 1: you will go get a gift certificate.
- 31:18Speaker 3: You can do it online, but.
- 31:20Speaker 1: You'll screw it up if you go to these places.
- 31:23Speaker 1: They'll put it in this really cool gift bag with

- 35:19Speaker 3: Those are the ten games we're picking this week. Make them.

- 35:39Speaker 17: Law.
- 35:39Speaker 9: I was terrible last week.
- 35:40Speaker 17: Chip.
- 35:41Speaker 9: With all those road teams I picked.
- 35:43Speaker 1: You were, Oh yeah, it was an easy week apparently.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I mean half the half the pickers went nine to
- 35:49Speaker 1: one last week.
- 35:50Speaker 9: I was terrible.
- 35:52Speaker 3: I wasn't too good. I was seven and three.
- 35:54Speaker 9: I got six, right, I mean, wait, you got you
- 35:57Speaker 9: only had seven?
- 35:58Speaker 3: I was seven and three.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so.
- 36:04Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 36:04Speaker 1: And then place Sessa had to remind me at like
- 36:09Speaker 1: three o'clock, hey, we don't have your prog picks, and
- 36:12Speaker 1: I went, yeah, I shoot, I forgot to do my
- 36:15Speaker 1: prog picks. And then I went, hey, what's the worst
- 36:18Speaker 1: that can happen if I don't do my prog picks?
- 36:21Speaker 1: Because what he'll do is usually just give you the
- 36:24Speaker 1: whatever picks the dog makes.
- 36:25Speaker 17: Right.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Yeah, well the dog hadn't been real good this year.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I am still barely ahead of the dog. But I'm thinking,
- 36:35Speaker 1: if I'm going to have to continue to do this
- 36:40Speaker 1: as I've done for years, I may have to retire
- 36:45Speaker 1: because apparently Gary Blair has got nothing else to do.
- 36:49Speaker 3: But pick football games. Why he's kicking our buddy. He's
- 36:53Speaker 3: kicking my buddy. He's kicking everybody's butt.
- 36:55Speaker 9: Yeah, those are coming game of the week this week.
- 36:58Speaker 15: Ugh, I don't know.
- 37:00Speaker 1: It's some directional school. Actually it was Ablin Christian at
- 37:05Speaker 1: Austin p. Ablin Kristen is fifteenth and Austin p is twentieth.
- 37:12Speaker 1: I believe that's not a crumming game. Well, he called
- 37:17Speaker 1: it a crummy game?
- 37:18Speaker 9: Do you have the wrong horns in Sam Houston?
- 37:20Speaker 12: No?
- 37:21Speaker 1: No, I didn't put that game.
- 37:24Speaker 9: How many points does Texas have to score for it
- 37:27Speaker 9: not to be a krumming game? And the eyes of
- 37:29Speaker 9: Longhorn fans?
- 37:31Speaker 1: Oh, I can't speak for that, but I will say
- 37:33Speaker 1: that I talked to Kirk. No, I did talk to
- 37:39Speaker 1: Kirk today, but I I.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Visited with with.
- 37:44Speaker 1: What's his name, Louis this morning on his show, and
- 37:49Speaker 1: he asked I still had arches my top Heisman candidate,
- 37:53Speaker 1: and I said yes, but but with this qualification, it's
- 38:00Speaker 1: not easy. You know, I'm pretty serious about my Heisman votes.
- 38:04Speaker 1: I said he would have to throw one touchdown pass
- 38:09Speaker 1: against Sam Houston Saturday and be at least fifty percent.
- 38:14Speaker 1: And if he doesn't throw a touchdown pass and yes,
- 38:18Speaker 1: one touchdown pass against Sam Houston and he can't be
- 38:22Speaker 1: more fifty percent or higher with his completion rate, I'm
- 38:27Speaker 1: going to have.
- 38:27Speaker 3: To seriously consider.
- 38:31Speaker 9: Taking him off my favorite and go to sellers.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Yeah, don't.
- 38:36Speaker 9: I don't know who I'm going to go to sellers. Well,
- 38:39Speaker 9: he's hurt right now. Yeah, but if they couldn't. If
- 38:42Speaker 9: you can't beat Vandy because your quarterback is hurt, and
- 38:46Speaker 9: then you win games when.
- 38:47Speaker 1: He's back, well we already knew he was important, right.
- 38:50Speaker 9: Doesn't that mean that he's the best player in college football?
- 38:53Speaker 1: My problem is I keep picking Club Nick to win games,
- 39:01Speaker 1: and I'm getting killed on that too, among all the
- 39:04Speaker 1: other games I'm getting killed on. I keep betting on Clemson,
- 39:09Speaker 1: and I keep thinking Club Nick is gonna be Clubnick.
- 39:14Speaker 9: And then, okay, I was listening driving back from Dallas
- 39:20Speaker 9: on Saturday. I mean on Sunday, a.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Good game you saw apparently, Yeah it was you were
- 39:26Speaker 1: at the Cowboys game.
- 39:27Speaker 9: Yeah, And basically they are what I thought they are.
- 39:32Speaker 9: The Cincinnati Bengals with a little bit better offensive line,
- 39:36Speaker 9: not saying it's significantly better, but enough to keep Dak
- 39:40Speaker 9: from gettingtting killed, from getting hurt. Yeah, because the barrels
- 39:44Speaker 9: is already out for the year now, right, Okay, So
- 39:48Speaker 9: they gotta score forty to win games, correct? And I
- 39:51Speaker 9: scored forty one to win this week? Okay, it's forty three?
- 39:55Speaker 3: Was it forty three to forty? I don't know you.
- 39:59Speaker 9: I thought it was four?
- 40:00Speaker 3: No, you're you're thinking a notre day man. Now, yes,
- 40:02Speaker 3: I think it was forty three to forty.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Yes, I shouldn't know that, but I do.
- 40:06Speaker 15: So that's what they are.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:10Speaker 9: Now, if you get the Jidavian Clowney from two years ago,
- 40:15Speaker 9: I'm not even talking about the Texans when he was
- 40:18Speaker 9: right as good a defensive place. But two years ago
- 40:21Speaker 9: at Baltimore he had ten and a half sacks. Okay,
- 40:24Speaker 9: if you get some reasonable facsimile of that, they may
- 40:28Speaker 9: be able to win games scoring thirty five. Okay, he
- 40:31Speaker 9: might be a five point player.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Really, yes, okay, because then.
- 40:36Speaker 9: They all they have to do is win thirty five
- 40:38Speaker 9: thirty four, So that's one two point conversion and four
- 40:43Speaker 9: six field good?
- 40:44Speaker 3: Are they No?
- 40:45Speaker 9: No, they're not.
- 40:47Speaker 3: But they're at home.
- 40:48Speaker 9: Yeah, okay, have Okay, I'm gonna ask you this, Chip.
- 40:52Speaker 9: I was thinking about it because you probably remember this
- 40:56Speaker 9: because you're around. I remember the fans at SMU and
- 41:01Speaker 9: the fans at Baylor leaving reading about them leaving when
- 41:07Speaker 9: Tony Franklin walked out at the end of games that
- 41:10Speaker 9: he walked out to kick two sixty plus yards or
- 41:13Speaker 9: maybe it was a fifty nine against SMU, and the
- 41:16Speaker 9: SMU fans and the Baylor fans are like, it's over.
- 41:19Speaker 9: He's not gonna miss this kick. Okay, Now, No, kickers
- 41:24Speaker 9: are bigger, stronger, whatever. They kick it further.
- 41:26Speaker 19: Now.
- 41:27Speaker 9: I the kicker for the Cowboys is as cold blooded
- 41:31Speaker 9: as any professional athlete.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I'm told this will be his last year kicking for Dallas. No, yeah,
- 41:37Speaker 1: I think so.
- 41:38Speaker 9: No, he's a restricted free agent a year from now.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Are you sure?
- 41:41Speaker 17: Yes?
- 41:41Speaker 3: I thought it was this next year.
- 41:43Speaker 9: They're still giving him the money, Chip, I don't think so.
- 41:45Speaker 9: Yeah they are. They just saved it.
- 41:47Speaker 1: No, No, they've given it to other people since then. Yes,
- 41:51Speaker 1: they've given ridiculous contracts to other people since they didn't
- 41:54Speaker 1: sign Michael Parsons.
- 41:55Speaker 9: And they still have a ridiculous amount of money to
- 41:57Speaker 9: sign it.
- 41:58Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 41:59Speaker 9: Jerry, Jerry would be worse off if they let him
- 42:03Speaker 9: go than Parsons.
- 42:04Speaker 3: I don't think he cares.
- 42:06Speaker 9: Chip. There were twenty five thousand empty seats.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Wow, he does care about that.
- 42:16Speaker 9: Okay, hang on, let me go to my photo because
- 42:18Speaker 9: I did not know that. Okay, So while the game
- 42:21Speaker 9: was going on, I.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Got the Giants usually bring fans.
- 42:24Speaker 9: While the game was going on, I got on the
- 42:27Speaker 9: secondary ticket to check and see how much the tickets
- 42:32Speaker 9: I got were going during the game. Okay, Okay, the
- 42:36Speaker 9: tickets I were sitting in were going for seventy dollars
- 42:41Speaker 9: less than I paid, and I paid a low price. Okay,
- 42:47Speaker 9: Now let me get to this one behind the Giants bench.
- 42:53Speaker 9: Two tickets front row behind the Giants bench at the
- 42:59Speaker 9: beginning of the second quarter, one hundred and twenty three dollars.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Jerry Zangel like that. I will say that.
- 43:08Speaker 9: Okay. They put out white towels for everybody to, you know,
- 43:11Speaker 9: have a toy away to wave. Yeah, twenty five thousand.
- 43:17Speaker 9: It made it very easy to get extra towels, to
- 43:20Speaker 9: get extra towels, and to see how many people weren't there.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Wow, I did not realize that that's substantial. Let me
- 43:33Speaker 1: see your picture. Oh my gosh, that's crazy.
- 43:37Speaker 9: That's cheesy.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's the ones they sell.
- 43:41Speaker 9: Yeah, and it was like that in the in the
- 43:43Speaker 9: in the season ticket spots too.
- 43:47Speaker 1: All right, I'm trying to find uh, since you mentioned
- 43:52Speaker 1: how much I could get a ticket to the Sam
- 43:55Speaker 1: Houston State game over in Austin on Saturday, billion.
- 44:02Speaker 3: I got to tell you.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Did I tell you I looked for Colorado Wyoming tickets
- 44:07Speaker 1: last week? No?
- 44:07Speaker 20: You did not, Okay.
- 44:08Speaker 1: So I'm going to be in that area this weekend, okay,
- 44:11Speaker 1: And I thought, let's go see Dion Right, beautiful stadium,
- 44:14Speaker 1: beautiful set at Colorado.
- 44:17Speaker 9: Okay, you know eat what eat what? Yes?
- 44:20Speaker 3: But either what?
- 44:21Speaker 17: Right?
- 44:21Speaker 9: Yes?
- 44:23Speaker 3: The cheapest ticket was like one hundred and fifty dollars
- 44:31Speaker 3: or something. I looked again last night.
- 44:33Speaker 1: How much now? Yeah, Sam, he's sixty four.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Oh okay, so you found it better one that.
- 44:38Speaker 1: See you're on Vivid seats.
- 44:39Speaker 9: I'm on.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Stub Hub, I believe.
- 44:43Speaker 9: Okay.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Is that all in with the Vivid? Is that all
- 44:45Speaker 1: the fees and prizes? Does it say there should be
- 44:48Speaker 1: a little button there you can push a button all
- 44:50Speaker 1: in because I just found ninety one dollars on stub hub,
- 44:55Speaker 1: but sixty is I thought it would be much less
- 44:58Speaker 1: than that. And I'm gonna look at are I'm going
- 45:01Speaker 1: to look at Colorado again to see if if those
- 45:05Speaker 1: have gone down Colorado. Oh, here we go?
- 45:11Speaker 9: Why I mean Colorado. Well, I wouldn't have gone because it's.
- 45:14Speaker 3: An eight to fifteen game.
- 45:15Speaker 1: I thought it was an afternoon game, right, Okay, Okay,
- 45:18Speaker 1: Now this says yes, sort by price, Yes, low to high. Yes,
- 45:25Speaker 1: two tickets, Yes, one hundred and eight dollars in the
- 45:30Speaker 1: end zone, but really near the student section which they go.
- 45:35Speaker 1: You don't want to do that at Colorado. They're a
- 45:37Speaker 1: little drunken, rowdy there. Well they throw things too.
- 45:40Speaker 9: Well, yeah, they pick up the flagpole and throw it
- 45:42Speaker 9: on Yeah. I don't like that. Okay, we need a break.
- 45:45Speaker 9: We'll come back.

- 47:01Speaker 21: at dyk In Park. The Astros jumped out to a
- 47:03Speaker 21: six nothing lead in this one, doing the majority of
- 47:05Speaker 21: the damage in the fourth as Jiner Diaz smashed an
- 47:07Speaker 21: RBI double, setting up Jesus Sanchez's two runs single, followed
- 47:10Speaker 21: by jose L two Vey's RBI single. Alex Blueblos started

- 47:18Speaker 21: The Rangers made it interesting late with four runs in
- 47:20Speaker 21: the top of the eighth, but Brian Obray who got
- 47:22Speaker 21: the final out of the eighth and pitched the ninth
- 47:24Speaker 21: for his seventh save of the season.
- 47:26Speaker 1: And an update on jor Don Alvarez.
- 47:28Speaker 21: The Astros are taking it day by day with their slugger,

- 47:33Speaker 21: spoke on a status.
- 47:34Speaker 22: We are going to take one day at a time,

- 48:33Speaker 9: Winston Churchill. I think so, I I think so that
- 48:37Speaker 9: would be awesome.
- 48:38Speaker 3: I know I've already got my tickets.
- 48:40Speaker 17: That's No.
- 48:40Speaker 3: Number six. This is a Rudder Theater. Yes, yeah, it's

- 50:32Speaker 1: talk about the Rangers and Astros series, and then we'll
- 50:35Speaker 1: never speak of it again.
- 50:37Speaker 3: Why it'll be over.
- 50:39Speaker 9: It's gonna be over. The Rangers should win the game.
- 50:42Speaker 3: Tonight, you jstro, But I don't believe that.
- 50:45Speaker 9: I mean, but Christian Haavier can go off. I'm not
- 50:48Speaker 9: saying that he can't. But the Astros have used up
- 50:50Speaker 9: everything in the bullpen because the Rangers made the late
- 50:53Speaker 9: run last night at the Astros and they had to
- 50:56Speaker 9: use leverage guys, and they don't you know, there.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Wouldn't take a Braille be available.
- 51:01Speaker 9: No, that and that's a huge spot for the Astros.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Yeah, they don't have a closer.
- 51:04Speaker 9: They don't have a closer. Uh you know, hater is.
- 51:07Speaker 1: But if you're down six to nothing, kind of like
- 51:09Speaker 1: last night, you don't really need a close. They're just
- 51:11Speaker 1: somebody that can only give up five runs.
- 51:14Speaker 9: Well that's what the Astros did last night, right, I know.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay, I'm just saying, if you get that far act, was.
- 51:21Speaker 9: The game managed more to your liking last night?
- 51:23Speaker 17: Yes?
- 51:23Speaker 9: Two nights ago? Yes, two nights ago was not managed
- 51:26Speaker 9: very well.
- 51:26Speaker 3: No, it was terrible.
- 51:27Speaker 1: I've never seen that before, and Bochi was pretty defensive
- 51:31Speaker 1: when asked about it, you know, and I really had
- 51:34Speaker 1: not seen that. But I will say this, Ranger fans
- 51:37Speaker 1: including me, were pretty upset to see Adolex s Garcia
- 51:40Speaker 1: as well as he's.
- 51:41Speaker 9: Done Eastern Maya Houston.
- 51:43Speaker 1: I understand as well as he's done against the Astros,
- 51:46Speaker 1: But David Hellman has been swinging the bat. I'm sorry,
- 51:49Speaker 1: Michael Hellman has been spent swinging the bat a lot better, right. Yeah,
- 51:52Speaker 1: they had benched a Doles and he didn't play last night,
- 51:56Speaker 1: and they bring him up in the eighth inning in
- 51:58Speaker 1: a crucial position. I'm going, what are you doing?
- 52:01Speaker 3: Making contact?
- 52:02Speaker 16: Hit?
- 52:02Speaker 19: He did.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Make look like a genius, right, but the night before
- 52:08Speaker 1: he didn't look so much like a genius when you're
- 52:10Speaker 1: pitch running a guy at first base instead of for
- 52:13Speaker 1: the catcher who your time with a calendar at second base?
- 52:17Speaker 17: Uh?
- 52:17Speaker 9: He was only out by ten feet, chip, Yeah, I mean.
- 52:20Speaker 1: It would have taken a triple to score it. Okay,
- 52:23Speaker 1: So I don't I didn't understand it, But I didn't
- 52:26Speaker 1: understand a lot of what happened, honestly. But if you
- 52:32Speaker 1: want to put that game on the manager, I'll give
- 52:35Speaker 1: you ten more that I'll I'll put on the positive side.
- 52:37Speaker 1: So I'm staying with that. But yeah, I thought he
- 52:40Speaker 1: had a bad game too. Two nights ago.
- 52:42Speaker 17: I did.
- 52:43Speaker 1: But if they lose tonight, if they lose tonight, the
- 52:46Speaker 1: season's over. So uh But as I've said again, I'll
- 52:50Speaker 1: say again, August. First, you tell me they're playing a
- 52:53Speaker 1: meaningful game, and try ten with ten games left, you tried.
- 52:56Speaker 3: I didn't believe you.
- 52:59Speaker 9: Two had the last years, Chip.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Maybe last year was terrible.
- 53:02Speaker 9: That's what I'm saying. Had the last three years.
- 53:04Speaker 1: I told you they were dead in the water. Tell
- 53:06Speaker 1: you that last No, No, they were dead in the
- 53:08Speaker 1: water two years ago too. Yeah, in my mind and
- 53:10Speaker 1: everybody's mind, you know. But but yeah, that was it
- 53:14Speaker 1: that this team has had a grid about it. They
- 53:16Speaker 1: hadn't always been good, for sure, they hadn't always been good.
- 53:19Speaker 3: They they're not.
- 53:21Speaker 1: They cannot hit consistently, and last night they made this
- 53:24Speaker 1: blue ball guy look like the second coming of the
- 53:27Speaker 1: Hall of Fame pitcher. I mean, they're just they're waving
- 53:30Speaker 1: at balls in the dirt over their head in the dugout.
- 53:33Speaker 1: It was brutal. Seven strikeouts and three innings.
- 53:36Speaker 11: Was just horrible.
- 53:38Speaker 3: But fortunately the.
- 53:40Speaker 1: The Astros bullpen you know, came in and and they
- 53:45Speaker 1: well they got a few runs.
- 53:46Speaker 9: I mean, you could have had last Peculers come in.
- 53:49Speaker 3: He's not quite ready yet.
- 53:52Speaker 9: He is pitching in the bullpen. He pitched.
- 53:54Speaker 3: Oh so you're saying he can come out of the
- 53:57Speaker 3: bullpen to pitch. Yes, he is. I hope he does.
- 54:00Speaker 1: And JP Frantz in the bullpit really okay, Now, Jason,
- 54:03Speaker 1: they've got a little help maybe, yeah, maybe, but I'd
- 54:08Speaker 1: like to see him a piller.
- 54:09Speaker 9: The Groham going tonight. Yeah, the Rangers should be the
- 54:12Speaker 9: favorite tonight.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think they'll be a slight favorite
- 54:16Speaker 1: if you're talking about betting favorites. Yeah. I just I
- 54:20Speaker 1: think the Grom has pitched too many innings. They tried
- 54:23Speaker 1: to manage him and they have to extent. He's pitched
- 54:27Speaker 1: more innings than anybody on the staff. And he was
- 54:29Speaker 1: going to even before a vaulting got hurt, right, uh
- 54:33Speaker 1: And and I think it's caught. I think it's caught
- 54:35Speaker 1: up to him because he was really good, you know,
- 54:37Speaker 1: the first half of the season, I mean really good.
- 54:41Speaker 1: And I just I think he's tired. All Right, we
- 54:43Speaker 1: need to take a break, we'll come back. We'll talk
- 54:45Speaker 1: to Maggie football after that. Uh.
- 54:48Speaker 3: I want to uh.
- 54:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I need to talk to you about David Gardner's.
- 54:56Speaker 1: You know, they're having that uh whiskey wheels and watch
- 54:59Speaker 1: his thing be fitting on ramp at a Stell on Saturday. David's,
- 55:03Speaker 1: you know, part of that. David's always part of whatever's
- 55:06Speaker 1: going on in the community. He's been doing this, you
- 55:09Speaker 1: know for over forty years. He and Julia go in
- 55:13Speaker 1: and check out David Gardner's diamond cross right now, silver
- 55:17Speaker 1: and white or yellow gold is what I'm meant to say.
- 55:23Speaker 1: And they're raffling some things off or the SOS banquet
- 55:27Speaker 1: coming up, and David's always doing that. He's got this
- 55:31Speaker 1: original kind of family heirloom necklace, the widow's mite that
- 55:37Speaker 1: is just phenomenal.
- 55:39Speaker 3: Asked to see that too. There's still some construction, but
- 55:43Speaker 3: they're doing business every day at David Gardner's. Go see David.
