Speaker 2: low around seven to seventy. Tomorrow a little bit more
1:42
Speaker 2: humidity with a chance of showers and thunderstorms to be

Speaker 2: the upper eighties, hot and unsettled. It's the way Brian
1:48
Speaker 2: describes Thursday, with a high in the upper eighties, widespread
1:51
Speaker 2: showers and storms pretty much possible through the weekend. Not
1:54
Speaker 2: a total washout, but at any given time, Brian says,
1:57

2:45
Speaker 2: to the show. Now our good friend from Capitol Market,
2:47
Speaker 2: Chuck McGill, Good morning, Sarah, Welcome to the show. Good morning,
2:51
Speaker 2: Thank you for being here talking about this big event
2:53
Speaker 2: you got going on tomorrow night. The Carver Alumni Dinner.
2:56
Speaker 4: Talk about it. Well.
2:58
Speaker 5: First of all, I've identified an issue with your show
3:00
Speaker 5: is that we always talk about food because I'm the
3:02
Speaker 5: executive director at Capital Market, but always come on, You're
3:05
Speaker 5: show hungry, and it makes me hungry here.
3:08
Speaker 2: Well and talking to you, it makes me hungry. So
3:13
Speaker 2: there's that.
3:14
Speaker 6: Yeah.
3:15
Speaker 5: No, at a really great event has come into the
3:17
Speaker 5: Capital Market tomorrow night from six to eight. We'll be outside.
3:20
Speaker 5: Weather looks great. It's the Carver Alumni Dinner, which that
3:24
Speaker 5: just means that the alumni are the ones making the food.
3:27
Speaker 5: It's open to anyone. Anyone can buy a ticket by
3:30
Speaker 5: going to Capitol Market dot net and we have some left.
3:33
Speaker 5: But it's a really great dinner that celebrates local chefs
3:37
Speaker 5: who stayed here, receive their culinary education at Carver Culinary
3:41
Speaker 5: through the Culinary Carver Culinary Arts Program, and then they
3:45
Speaker 5: spread through fanall valley to you know, share their love
3:49
Speaker 5: of food with us and need to prepare our food.
3:52
Speaker 5: So we're bringing those chefs together for a six course
3:54
Speaker 5: meal tomorrow night at Capital Market with chefs from Dancing
3:58
Speaker 5: Dog and The Pitch, Coco's Kitchen and Cafe all represented.
4:03
Speaker 5: So prepared local for your local market. It's going to
4:07
Speaker 5: be a great event.
4:08
Speaker 2: So I am presuming that by the very name. I
4:11
Speaker 2: am not a smart guy, you know, but I would
4:14
Speaker 2: say that it is people that actually went through the
4:16
Speaker 2: culinary Academy at Carver, right.
4:19
Speaker 5: That's correct. Yes, they are all products of the Carver
4:22
Speaker 5: Culinary Arts program and you know have now been dispersed
4:27
Speaker 5: through the Canall Valley. So these are the chefs preparing
4:30
Speaker 5: your food at your favorite regional restaurants. So there are
4:33
Speaker 5: people who were educated local and stayed luck local to
4:36
Speaker 5: provide food. And you know, Capital Capital Market. Capital Market
4:40
Speaker 5: being a nonprofit five over one C three that we
4:43
Speaker 5: support everything West Virginia inside and outside at the market.
4:47
Speaker 5: So obviously supporting our local chefs and local talent is
4:50
Speaker 5: something we want to do.
4:51
Speaker 2: All right, Well, you know what my next question is
4:53
Speaker 2: going to be. You said it's a six course meal.
4:54
Speaker 2: I want to know what's on the menu.
4:57
Speaker 5: Okay, So it's it's a it's with the six course meal,
5:00
Speaker 5: you're talking about an appetizer, a soup, salad. Uh, there's
5:05
Speaker 5: there's some tuninachos and I'm sure you would.
5:07
Speaker 2: Dive into and a.
5:09
Speaker 5: Chicken chicken quarter is the entree? And then the dessert.
5:12
Speaker 5: But Dave, I want to talk about the start, starting
5:15
Speaker 5: finish for me. So the start will be, ah, you know,
5:22
Speaker 5: you don't have pimento. It'll have some Appalachian infused honey,
5:29
Speaker 5: so I think you've got a lot of local flavor.
5:32
Speaker 5: We talked a few weeks ago about the taste of appalachi.
5:34
Speaker 5: This is a very Appalachian start to your meal, getting
5:39
Speaker 5: into a you know, a summer peach tomato salad, a
5:44
Speaker 5: roast red pepper suit I mentioned the tounanachos, a chicken
5:49
Speaker 5: porter which which is gonna be really good, and then
5:51
Speaker 5: a middle end on a maple layered pinoli that will
5:58
Speaker 5: have berries and candy peacockes. So I think from start
6:02
Speaker 5: to finish we've got a really interesting six course meal.
6:07
Speaker 5: And each of the six chefs will prepare it will
6:09
Speaker 5: be focused on their course, So you have six people
6:13
Speaker 5: supremely focused on each course, which I think is really neat.
6:15
Speaker 2: Man, it sounds absolutely delicious. I mean every bit of that.
6:20
Speaker 2: Of course, you know this time of mornings when I
6:22
Speaker 2: start planning my food day anyway, and most of my
6:24
Speaker 2: time spent behind a microphone, so it ends up being
6:27
Speaker 2: a sandwich or something least till I get home. It
6:29
Speaker 2: all sounds absolutely delicious. I know a lot of work
6:32
Speaker 2: has gone into this.
6:34
Speaker 5: Yeah, this is the second year. The first year went
6:37
Speaker 5: really great and what you saw was a lot of
6:39
Speaker 5: the local restaurants supporting their people, right, So you had people,
6:44
Speaker 5: you know, the the executive chefs and the team coming
6:47
Speaker 5: out to support the SFT that we're going out and
6:49
Speaker 5: do this. So I think people understand, you know, how
6:52
Speaker 5: important to West Virginians and people in the Mountain state
6:55
Speaker 5: and to the Ka Valley supporting local and as I said,
6:59
Speaker 5: our mission Capital Market is to support small business. Inside
7:02
Speaker 5: it's all West Virginia products. Outside you'll find all West
7:05
Speaker 5: Virginia grown produce, and we want to be a community
7:10
Speaker 5: gathering space for all for our people here locally. So
7:12
Speaker 5: it's just a layered local kind of event, local people
7:16
Speaker 5: supporting local sefts. That your local market is what we're
7:19
Speaker 5: all about.
7:19
Speaker 2: Talking to Chuck mcgil again from Capital Market, it's nine
7:22
Speaker 2: point fifteen. You get ready to talk about through your
7:24
Speaker 2: football and go inside the huddle with Tony Kredi this

Speaker 2: Brought to you by a United Bank in conjunction with
7:53
Speaker 2: WCCHS and the Charleston Gazette Mail. All right, where can
7:56
Speaker 2: people get tickets for this? And how are the tickets going?
7:58
Speaker 4: Are there?
7:59
Speaker 2: I mean an event like this, I know you've been
8:00
Speaker 2: advertising it for a while. First time I've had opportunity
8:03
Speaker 2: to have you on the show. I mean, how are
8:05
Speaker 2: we doing on tickets?
8:06
Speaker 5: We're doing We're doing really well in tickets, but there
8:08
Speaker 5: are limited amount of tickets left. They're dwindling. And I think,
8:12
Speaker 5: you know, with the there's a lot going on in
8:13
Speaker 5: Charleston this week, but with the with the unbelievable weather,
8:16
Speaker 5: we're gonna have outdoors tomorrow night. You know, for Taste
8:19
Speaker 5: of Appalachia, it was so pleasant under the pavilion. By
8:22
Speaker 5: the time that sun started to dropping little bit six
8:24
Speaker 5: to eight pm, it was really really comfortable. And we're
8:27
Speaker 5: gonna have the same set up tomorrow night. So yeah,
8:29
Speaker 5: Capitolmarket dot net, you can go to our events page
8:32
Speaker 5: and find it and then just hop on and buy
8:36
Speaker 5: your tickets and come come hang out with us. It
8:38
Speaker 5: will be a really good time.
8:38
Speaker 2: What are some other things over the next couple of
8:40
Speaker 2: weeks or months or so as we start to I mean,
8:42
Speaker 2: I know it's just August fourth. I don't want to
8:44
Speaker 2: rush the season, but we're gonna start. I mean, I
8:46
Speaker 2: think if you go to your local department store, I
8:48
Speaker 2: think the Valentine's Day decorations are already out at this point.
8:52
Speaker 2: So over the next month two months, So what are
8:55
Speaker 2: some things that are on their rise and for Capital Market?
8:57
Speaker 5: Yeah, so on August twentieth, we'll have our monthly Let's
9:00
Speaker 5: Get Cooking with Chef Paul event, which is eleven thirty
9:02
Speaker 5: to one on the third Thursday of every month at
9:04
Speaker 5: the Market. It's a great event where you can come.
9:06
Speaker 5: Chef Paul will create a dish that using a focal
9:11
Speaker 5: point of some ingredient that is like in season at
9:14
Speaker 5: the market at that time. Well, later in the month
9:18
Speaker 5: we'll have our Harvest Center, which will feature multiple chefs
9:22
Speaker 5: again from around the region. And then we get into
9:25
Speaker 5: September one, the market flips over. That's the fall season,
9:29
Speaker 5: so the market will start to really take shape. In fact,
9:31
Speaker 5: one of our vendors last Saturday already had pumpkin roll,
9:36
Speaker 5: so they're trying to force it.
9:37
Speaker 6: I know.
9:38
Speaker 5: The pumpkin season is upon us. We have a Sweet
9:42
Speaker 5: Charity dessert competition September first, which is gonna be a
9:46
Speaker 5: lot of fun. And then you get into our our
9:49
Speaker 5: fall fundraisers. Our market mixer will be on Wednesday, Aftober seventh.
9:53
Speaker 5: We'll have our back and Cheese cookoff and Biscuits and
9:56
Speaker 5: Gravy Bowl on consecutive Saturdays in November, November seventh and
9:59
Speaker 5: November fourteen, so the events don't stop at the market.
10:02
Speaker 2: And all right again, give us the time and everything
10:06
Speaker 2: in all the details before we let you go for
10:07
Speaker 2: tomorrow night. But you need to get those tickets soon
10:09

10:11
Speaker 2: of the day. So give us all the details again

Speaker 2: the Charlestonary Alliance of the Charleston Chamber of Commerce, the
15:48
Speaker 2: Putnam Chamber of Commerce, and the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce.
15:51
Speaker 2: Everybody comes together and it's a great panel of folks.
15:55
Speaker 2: You get the mayors and all the directors of the
15:57
Speaker 2: different organizations speak and so on and so forth. They
16:00
Speaker 2: have some great food there at Valley Park and it's
16:03
Speaker 2: a fantastic networking event. And the cool thing about it
16:06
Speaker 2: is it doesn't take up your entire day. You're there
16:08
Speaker 2: what ninety minutes or so.
16:10
Speaker 5: Yeah.
16:10
Speaker 11: Yeah, So we opened the doors at eleven for some
16:13
Speaker 11: networking opportunities for anybody that wants to come a little
16:16
Speaker 11: bit early and network, and then eleven thirty the lunch
16:20
Speaker 11: is available, and then we start the program right at noon,
16:23
Speaker 11: and then we wrap up right at one and then
16:25
Speaker 11: you're back. You're back to your office, you know, depending
16:28
Speaker 11: on within you know, fifteen twenty minutes, depending on where
16:31
Speaker 11: you got to go.
16:32
Speaker 2: So, yeah, so talk about what kind of information is
16:37
Speaker 2: disseminated at this thing. I mean about the speakers on stage,
16:40
Speaker 2: and I know know about the networking, but talk about
16:42
Speaker 2: what the who all's going to be there. I know
16:44
Speaker 2: you're still working on the list, but who's going to
16:46
Speaker 2: be there and what they're going to talk about.
16:48
Speaker 11: Yeah, Actually, we are solidified in our agenda this year,
16:51
Speaker 11: and we're going to feature some regional updates from the
16:54
Speaker 11: mayors of Charleston, Huntington, Hurricane, and South Charleston. So they'll
16:58
Speaker 11: be providing the nearly three hundred and fifty attendees with
17:04
Speaker 11: some insights to the accomplishments, priorities and opportunities that are
17:08
Speaker 11: within their within their respective communities. And then every year,
17:12
Speaker 11: one of our key focuses is always on collaboration. We
17:16
Speaker 11: know that you know, together as a region, we are
17:19
Speaker 11: stronger than we are individually, and so we like to
17:22
Speaker 11: have the panelists kind of discuss a little bit on
17:24
Speaker 11: how they are currently collaborating and how they look to
17:27
Speaker 11: collaborate as a region in the future. So, but all
17:31
Speaker 11: these mayors that are going to be with us this
17:34
Speaker 11: year are going to have some great updates. They've all
17:36
Speaker 11: got some good things going on in their respective cities,
17:39
Speaker 11: and so we're looking forward to hearing about what accomplishments
17:43
Speaker 11: they that's going on in each of those and then
17:47
Speaker 11: you know, focusing on that regional collaborative approach as well.
17:51
Speaker 2: Talking again with Ashley off for Glance for the Putnam
17:53
Speaker 2: County Chamber of Commerce to Dave Allen Show and find
17:55
Speaker 2: Indieline brought to you in part by Pinnacle Consultants. When
17:58
Speaker 2: environmental questions come up a building, Nicole provides clear answers,
18:01

18:07
Speaker 2: state of West Virginia. You can learn more at Pinnacle
18:09
Speaker 2: Corp dot net. Helping you understand your environment because what
18:12
Speaker 2: you don't know can't hurt you, and doing what you
18:15
Speaker 2: do for a living and doing what the folks at
18:16
Speaker 2: the Charleston Airy Alliance and Chamber Doo and the Huntington Regional.
18:20
Speaker 1: Uh.
18:20
Speaker 2: You know, it's so important. And those mayors that you
18:22
Speaker 2: mentioned that are all going to be there. I've interviewed
18:24
Speaker 2: every one of them countless times and just had mayor
18:26
Speaker 2: a good one of Charleston on the show yesterday as
18:28
Speaker 2: a matter of fact, and I'm glad that we are
18:31
Speaker 2: finally getting into this mindset that is you said, Ashley,
18:36
Speaker 2: what's good for one community is good for all of them.
18:38
Speaker 2: You take the regatta for example, when the regatta happened
18:42
Speaker 2: a few weeks ago, that was good for Hurricane you know,
18:46
Speaker 2: that was good for South Charleston. I know South Charleston
18:49
Speaker 2: is planning their summerfest coming up. There's always something going
18:52
Speaker 2: on that. We just had Woody Fest at the Shawnees
18:54
Speaker 2: Sports Complex. Huntington's always got some. So my point is
18:58
Speaker 2: is when these things are going on for one community
19:01
Speaker 2: here in the valley, they're good for all of the
19:03
Speaker 2: communities in the valley.
19:05
Speaker 11: Absolutely absolutely. I mean, you know, West Virginia as a
19:07
Speaker 11: whole is not you know, it's no shock to anyone
19:11
Speaker 11: that were not you know, it's not a large state.
19:14
Speaker 11: So you know, the more that we can work together
19:18
Speaker 11: to achieve the same goals is you know, success for everyone.
19:23
Speaker 2: And I'm honored to you've asked me to serve as
19:26
Speaker 2: your moderator for this event. I mean, did everybody else?
19:28
Speaker 2: Nobody else was available? I mean that's how I got
19:31
Speaker 2: this gig.
19:32
Speaker 11: No, no, no, you were our first choice.
19:34
Speaker 2: No I was, No, I wasn't.
19:36
Speaker 11: Yeah, you know you.
19:37
Speaker 2: Were top five? Was I top five?
19:40
Speaker 11: You were the first choice this year? It was a
19:42
Speaker 11: no brainer.
19:44
Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to it. I've attended the event in
19:46
Speaker 2: the past. I'm not a Hall of Famer yet. I'll
19:49
Speaker 2: be a Hall of Famer at the end of October.
19:51
Speaker 2: It's still pending right now. I may or may not
19:53
Speaker 2: be a Hall of Famer.
19:54
Speaker 4: I don't know yet.
19:54
Speaker 11: I mean I guess, depending how well you do might
19:59
Speaker 11: determine if you get to keep that or not.
20:02
Speaker 2: And the thing I like about this event is, I said,
20:04
Speaker 2: I've attended it just about every year, except for last
20:08
Speaker 2: year because I was doing the radio thing, I couldn't
20:10
Speaker 2: make it. But the great thing about the event to
20:13
Speaker 2: me is that again it is you're in Valley Park.
20:17
Speaker 2: You're going to have some fantastic food, great networking opportunities
20:20
Speaker 2: starting at around eleven o'clock or so that morning. But
20:24
Speaker 2: it's not in such a formal setting that people in
20:27
Speaker 2: the audience can't take part and that they can't ask
20:30
Speaker 2: questions and things of that nature. And just as I said,
20:33
Speaker 2: fellowship you know, back and forth and get to network.
20:36
Speaker 2: I mean, it's a set down event, but it's not
20:39
Speaker 2: like a real stuffy event. I mean it's a good
20:41
Speaker 2: opportunity just to learn from each other.
20:44
Speaker 11: Yeah, absolutely, I mean we're gonna have representation, you know,
20:48
Speaker 11: our guest list of folks that attend, or everybody from
20:52
Speaker 11: Huntington to Charleston and here in Punnham County and beyond.
20:56
Speaker 11: And I think that's the really great thing is like
20:59
Speaker 11: folks that you know, you may do business with, say
21:02
Speaker 11: you're say you're in Charleston and you do business with
21:04
Speaker 11: some folks in Huntington, but you don't actually get to
21:06
Speaker 11: see them that much, you know, in person. It's more
21:09
Speaker 11: like phone or email or zoom or teams or whatever.
21:12
Speaker 11: You know, this is an opportunity to kind of touch base,
21:14
Speaker 11: you know, face the base and actually you know, shake
21:17
Speaker 11: hands and and uh, you know, check in on people
21:20
Speaker 11: and see how see how they're doing it. And so
21:22
Speaker 11: having it here centrally located is a good opportunity because
21:25
Speaker 11: it's equal distance for our friends from Huntington, equal just
21:28
Speaker 11: from our friends from Charleston to come in and then everybody.
21:31
Speaker 11: You know, it doesn't end up taking the whole day,
21:33
Speaker 11: and it's a nice, you know, casual atmosphere, but really
21:37
Speaker 11: just kind of talking about, you know, the success of
21:40
Speaker 11: this metro region that we live in and that I
21:43
Speaker 11: sixty four corridor and how we can all continue to
21:47
Speaker 11: collaborate together.
21:48
Speaker 2: Mandy. That's going to be on August the nineteenth, but
21:50
Speaker 2: I would urge you if you haven't already gotten your
21:52
Speaker 2: tickets to get them soon because this is this event
21:56
Speaker 2: does sell out.
21:57
Speaker 11: Yeah, I anticipated sell out by the end of the week,
22:00
Speaker 11: so we do still have a few seats left. We
22:03
Speaker 11: also can still take a table sponsorship up until Friday.
22:09
Speaker 11: So if if you are not on the guest list
22:11
Speaker 11: already and you would like to just give us a
22:14
Speaker 11: shout here at the Putt and Chamber, or you could
22:17
Speaker 11: also call all our friends at the Charles Mary Alliance
22:20
Speaker 11: or at the Huntington Regional Chamber and they can get
22:23
Speaker 11: us in contact and make sure that we've got you
22:26
Speaker 11: on the guest list.
22:27
Speaker 2: And I think I saw that the folks of Meek's
22:28
Speaker 2: Rentals and Leasing are a big.
22:30
Speaker 11: Part of this right correct, Yeah, we are so fortunate.
22:32
Speaker 11: Meek's Rentals and Leasing has been our title sponsor, or,
22:35
Speaker 11: our presenting sponsor for this event from the origination, and
22:39
Speaker 11: so they really believe in in the value of that
22:41
Speaker 11: regional collaboration and working together, and so when we first
22:46
Speaker 11: brought this event to our boards of directors, the Meeks
22:51
Speaker 11: Group was quick to hop on as the title sponsor
22:53
Speaker 11: and has done so every every year since. So we're
22:56
Speaker 11: really grateful for their support of the event. We also
22:58
Speaker 11: have some other great VIP sponsors is Orang Shoals at
23:00
Speaker 11: Charleston Mary Medical Center in Bandelia Health, Family Wealth Group,
23:03
Speaker 11: Google and WBU Medicine, Thomas Hospitals. So and then in
23:08
Speaker 11: addition to that, we've got a few of table sponsors
23:11
Speaker 11: as well. So we are really grateful for the support
23:14
Speaker 11: that the region has showed us for this event and
23:16
Speaker 11: how much people have really enjoyed it and want to
23:20
Speaker 11: see it continue and to and to keep moving forward.
23:23
Speaker 11: And so we're we're really, really, really grateful for all
23:26
Speaker 11: the support that we've received from the companies within the region.
23:28
Speaker 2: And this is again is going to be a valley
23:30
Speaker 2: park in Hurricane coming up on August the nineteenth. What
23:33
Speaker 2: else is new in Putnam County these days? There's always
23:35
Speaker 2: something going on.
23:37
Speaker 11: Well, you know, let's see, we've got small businesses opening
23:41
Speaker 11: up all over the place. You know, we're really excited
23:44
Speaker 11: about that. We've had to use salonstop on. We've got
23:48
Speaker 11: some expanding some companies, and you know, we're we're doing
23:53
Speaker 11: We're doing good here, We're doing good here.
23:55
Speaker 2: And then there was announcement made last week and I
23:57
Speaker 2: talked about a little bit on the show that I
23:59
Speaker 2: think this EXAs roadhouses coming to Tay's Valley, just to
24:02
Speaker 2: add to the already impressive list of restaurants there. It's
24:05
Speaker 2: going to employ a lot of people, so we want
24:07
Speaker 2: to welcome them into town. But you add that with
24:09
Speaker 2: all of the other culinary options that you got to
24:11
Speaker 2: Putnam County. I mean, we got some we got some
24:13
Speaker 2: good food over there. I know it always comes back
24:15
Speaker 2: to food with me, but I'm telling you, we got
24:16
Speaker 2: some fantastic local restaurants there in Tays Valley and all
24:21
Speaker 2: of Putnam County.
24:22
Speaker 4: I should say, yeah, we do.
24:23
Speaker 11: We do. Here in Punnet County. We have over thirty
24:25
Speaker 11: five locally owned restaurants, so entrepreneurs tholkse that have just
24:29
Speaker 11: gone out on a lens to really showcase, you know,
24:33
Speaker 11: something that's you know, their lifelong dreams and goals, and
24:37
Speaker 11: so we've had some long steaming lines and some new
24:39
Speaker 11: ones hop on and you know, we're we're That's one
24:43
Speaker 11: thing that people don't always think about that we have
24:45
Speaker 11: that many locally owned restaurants here here in Putnam County.
24:48
Speaker 11: So of course we're always thrilled to you know, to
24:50
Speaker 11: welcome new chains and we look forward to it. You know,
24:53
Speaker 11: the people of Punham County have been very eager for
24:58
Speaker 11: a Texas roadhouse, and that announcement I think was a
25:02
Speaker 11: little uh premature, but they are in the planning process
25:07
Speaker 11: and has to minis of permits. But so I think
25:10
Speaker 11: a formal announcement is still to come. But the yues
25:14
Speaker 11: that is that is in the work.
25:16
Speaker 2: Well in the meantime, else just say this, in the meantime,
25:19
Speaker 2: while we're waiting in that formal announcement, go get some
25:21
Speaker 2: fried chicken at fireside, Go down to bubb Arenas, go
25:24
Speaker 2: to Sergio's, go to eleanor Barbecue.
25:26
Speaker 5: Uh you all know.
25:28
Speaker 2: And we got a new place coming there too. Bogie's
25:30
Speaker 2: is going to be opening up soon right there in Hurricane,
25:32
Speaker 2: right right there, like actually in the town of Hurricane,
25:34
Speaker 2: next to the hotel, next to the windomn right they.
25:37
Speaker 11: Are, yeah, right next to the window next to the
25:40
Speaker 11: you know, kind of in that little complex. There's a
25:42
Speaker 11: couple of other restaurants in there, the Pizza Hut, things
25:44
Speaker 11: like that. They're going to be right in there by
25:46
Speaker 11: the Sparkle splash our our laundry, our laundry facility. They're great.
25:52
Speaker 11: We have actually that has grown significantly. That's a great
25:55
Speaker 11: small business that has grown and provided a real need
25:59
Speaker 11: in the community. So but yeah, we're excited to welcome Bogie's.
26:02
Speaker 11: They'll be opening soon. We've got a ribbon cutting next
26:05
Speaker 11: week for the second location of Sculpted here in Liberty Square,
26:09
Speaker 11: or not nextly two weeks from now. So we've got uh,
26:13
Speaker 11: their opening in Liberty Square took one of our last
26:15
Speaker 11: thoughts over there. They are a matty saw colled Sculpted
26:21
Speaker 11: and we've got some new salons opening up and we've
26:27
Speaker 11: got a few other other things in the work, so
26:31
Speaker 11: I think, you know, we're we're still trucking on.
26:34
Speaker 2: For and we've still got people moving in too, you know,
26:37
Speaker 2: I mean New Core. Of course, there's been a lot
26:39
Speaker 2: of those folks down in Mason County. They're chosen to
26:41
Speaker 2: live in Putnam County. People from the surrounding areas are
26:44
Speaker 2: moving in, uh every day to Putnam County. It's it's
26:47
Speaker 2: the place to be, we do.
26:49
Speaker 11: Yeah, we've got some folks moving in. We've got some
26:51
Speaker 11: new residential developments coming online. We'll be breaking ground on
26:55
Speaker 11: one pretty soon and be able to offer some new
27:00
Speaker 11: housing opportunities for folks here. And then, like I said,
27:04
Speaker 11: we've always got you know, houses available in some of
27:07
Speaker 11: our premier neighborhoods as well. So we're thrilled to welcome
27:12
Speaker 11: people and for anybody that is looking to move to
27:15
Speaker 11: the area, we've got a great publication called Heart of
27:17
Speaker 11: the Valley, which really showcases, you know, all that Putnam
27:22
Speaker 11: County has to offer if you're wanting to relocate here.
27:25
Speaker 2: I don't want to put you on the spot, but
27:26
Speaker 2: we did have a text somebody wanted to know if
27:29
Speaker 2: there's any update on the Amazon Warehouse and Fraser's Bottom.
27:33
Speaker 2: You have any any updates on you.
27:34
Speaker 11: Never have an update on that. No, I do not.
27:37
Speaker 11: I do not have an update on that.
27:38
Speaker 2: And the other question was and uh and I know
27:41
Speaker 2: this is part of it. There's nothing you and I
27:42
Speaker 2: could do about it. But about roads being repaved in
27:45
Speaker 2: Putnam County, if we could get that done, we would
27:48
Speaker 2: get it done. But that's not something that you that you,
27:50
Speaker 2: as a Chamber of Commerce person, can get done.
27:51
Speaker 11: If somebody wants their roads, all the majority of the
27:55
Speaker 11: roads in Putnam County, listen, I am, I'm on the
27:58
Speaker 11: same I'm on the same that I would like to
28:00
Speaker 11: be able to to make sure all of our roads
28:02
Speaker 11: are in great shape. But what you need to do
28:04
Speaker 11: is you need to take a picture of that road,
28:07
Speaker 11: that plot hole, whatever it is, and you need to
28:09
Speaker 11: send it directly to the d o H. Send it
28:12
Speaker 11: directly to them, send it to the Governor's office. Most
28:15
Speaker 11: of our roads here in Putnam County are state owned.
28:18
Speaker 11: That's one of the things that is that is often
28:20
Speaker 11: we get we get a lot of questions like that
28:23
Speaker 11: here in the county and to the County Commission or
28:25
Speaker 11: to the cities, or to the town. And the reality
28:28
Speaker 11: of it is is they don't. None of us actually
28:31
Speaker 11: own any of these roads. The majority of them are
28:33
Speaker 11: owned by the d H. So if you have a
28:35
Speaker 11: road that needs needs fixed, take some photos, send it
28:39
Speaker 11: up to the DOH, send it to the Governor's office,
28:41
Speaker 11: send it to me. I'll be happy to also forward
28:43
Speaker 11: that on to make sure because we don't you know,
28:46
Speaker 11: we don't. Unfortunately, I don't get to travel every single
28:49
Speaker 11: road that we have here in Putnam County. But I'm
28:51
Speaker 11: I'm happy to help you. If there is an issue,
28:53
Speaker 11: send it to me and I'll be happy to forward
28:54
Speaker 11: it on and to try to get an addressed as
28:56
Speaker 11: soon as possible.
28:57
Speaker 2: All right, Ash off for a glance from the Chamber
29:00
Speaker 2: of Commerce, Putnam County, State of the Valley coming up
29:01

29:04
Speaker 2: talk again soon.

33:27
Speaker 4: Can he do on? Man?
33:29
Speaker 2: It would help if I turn your microphone.
33:31
Speaker 4: I'm sorry, Hey, thanks for turning me on. It's good
33:33
Speaker 4: to be here with you. I actually represent the fifty
33:36
Speaker 4: fourth district.
33:37
Speaker 2: I didn't say thirty seven.
33:38
Speaker 4: It used to be the thirty seven.
33:39
Speaker 2: I mean value was holding for having old futer.
33:41
Speaker 4: But I don't want people to confuse me with Delegate
33:44
Speaker 4: Marty Gearhart, who is the current representative. So much in common, Well, yeah,
33:48
Speaker 4: I'm sure. On the way, let me tell you, let's
33:51
Speaker 4: talk about the fifty fourth district, because we're in it
33:53
Speaker 4: right now.
33:53
Speaker 2: About that.
33:54
Speaker 4: I feel it is the greatest district in the entire
33:56
Speaker 4: state of West Virginia, and right now it is the
33:59
Speaker 4: musical Mecca of North America. Because I was just driving
34:03
Speaker 4: to get here and the Billy String fans are already
34:06
Speaker 4: out in full force. There are pop up tents going
34:10
Speaker 4: up at the Benny Kettam parking lot and closed over
34:13
Speaker 4: there to the coliseum at Convention Center. And what a
34:16
Speaker 4: great day for Charleston. All these people are coming from
34:19
Speaker 4: all over the place for this concert here tonight. So
34:22
Speaker 4: that's great.
34:23
Speaker 2: And for those who don't know who Billy Strings is,
34:25
Speaker 2: I mean, it's really a fascinating So a guy from Michigan,
34:28
Speaker 2: I think originally is from Michigan. The hottest bluegrass performer around.
34:32
Speaker 2: He kind of he kind of meshes you know, the
34:36
Speaker 2: older the classic bluegrass sound with some new grass in
34:40
Speaker 2: there is as well. And he talks candidly about his
34:44
Speaker 2: recovery from addictions. And he's definitely a man of the
34:49
Speaker 2: people because I mean, my friends in the musicians community said,
34:52
Speaker 2: he's been popping up all over Charleston. He was at
34:55
Speaker 2: the Empty Glass the other night, Is that right.
34:56
Speaker 4: Yeah, Sunday night. Apparently this is how this happened. It's
34:59
Speaker 4: a great story. I guess he went and checked into
35:00
Speaker 4: his hotel, and some great ambassador for the city of Charleston.
35:05
Speaker 4: I don't know who it is, but somebody who works
35:06
Speaker 4: at the hotel that he and I don't know what
35:08
Speaker 4: hotel he's staying at, suggested that he go over to
35:11
Speaker 4: the Empty Glass that they were having the post Mountain
35:14
Speaker 4: Stage jam, and of course it was being hosted by
35:17
Speaker 4: the John Ingram Band, which is one of the most
35:19
Speaker 4: versatile bands around. So anybody shows up to sit and
35:22
Speaker 4: it was the right band that was there. You know,
35:24
Speaker 4: anybody could go sit in with with the folks and
35:27
Speaker 4: the John Ingram Band because they're just such versatile musicians.
35:31
Speaker 4: But that's what he did. He just went over and
35:32
Speaker 4: just showed up. Apparently the doorman at the Empty Glass
35:36
Speaker 4: actually checked his ID and charged him a cover, had
35:39
Speaker 4: no clue who he was, which so you know, shout
35:42
Speaker 4: out to Marvin there for doing his job. But he
35:45
Speaker 4: showed up and he hung out all night. He played
35:47
Speaker 4: a couple of songs with a John Ingram band, He
35:49
Speaker 4: sat in with another Mountain Stage performer, and then went
35:52
Speaker 4: out on the back patio and picked, you know, bluegrass
35:56
Speaker 4: tunes with folks out there like Jacob Thomas, who happens
35:59
Speaker 4: to be the flat picking champion of West Virginia. Uh
36:02
Speaker 4: sat out there with him all night and and UH
36:05
Speaker 4: and played. So this guy truly loves what he does
36:08
Speaker 4: playing music, and he is just a regular guy and
36:11
Speaker 4: he's been hanging out in Charleston since Sunday. His show
36:13
Speaker 4: is tonight.
36:14
Speaker 2: By the way, why did you bring him in with you?
36:16
Speaker 4: I mean, I have no I've never met the guy.
36:18
Speaker 4: I just I think he's very talented.
36:20
Speaker 2: You probably wanted Here's here's probably wanted to meet you.
36:22
Speaker 4: Here's the here's my part in this, all right. It's
36:25
Speaker 4: great for the city of Charleston, and it's bringing people
36:28
Speaker 4: in music fans.
36:30
Speaker 2: Uh.
36:31
Speaker 4: And there's already like a little what they call a
36:34
Speaker 4: shakedown street. And I'm a deadhead, so this guy has
36:37
Speaker 4: like a grateful dead type following. And there's already you know,
36:40
Speaker 4: a shakedown set up over at Benny Ketam or people
36:43
Speaker 4: are selling T shirts and jewelry and stuff like that.
36:45
Speaker 4: So you can go over there, even if you're not
36:47
Speaker 4: going to the show. You could go over there and
36:49
Speaker 4: do some gift shopping for your loved ones. M huh,
36:52
Speaker 4: but really, I mean, I'll also I need to give
36:54
Speaker 4: a shout out to, uh uh, the our own Woody
36:58
Speaker 4: Woods here who put on a phenomenal show with the
37:02
Speaker 4: help of a lot of folks out at Shawnee Park
37:04
Speaker 4: I'm sorry, out at the Shawnee Sports Complex. This weekend,
37:08
Speaker 4: which also brought tons of people. Yeah, yeah, so I
37:11
Speaker 4: mean I said, you know, the Canal Valley right now
37:13
Speaker 4: is the musical mecca for the past few days, the
37:16
Speaker 4: musical mecca of North America. And it's great. We have
37:18
Speaker 4: people you know from you know, from going from from
37:20
Speaker 4: Woody Fest with all the people that that brought in
37:23
Speaker 4: and all the economic boosts that brought in, all these
37:27
Speaker 4: music lovers coming in from all over the place now
37:29
Speaker 4: to right to this where there's there there have been
37:31
Speaker 4: people in town for days waiting for this Billy Strings show. Yeah,
37:35
Speaker 4: and it's great for the community, great for Charleston.
37:38
Speaker 2: Doctor to Mike Pushkinvedeve Island Show on Finve Andie Live
37:40
Speaker 2: is brought to you in part by the Charleston Dirty Birds.
37:43

37:51

37:55
Speaker 2: a moment, Mike, you know, and what's interesting is there's
37:59
Speaker 2: been so many questquestions ask about the clothing vouchers. You know,
38:02
Speaker 2: why did it start late why did it end early?
38:05
Speaker 2: Where is the money? And yesterday the governor released a
38:08
Speaker 2: very lengthy statement on it, and before I mean the
38:11
Speaker 2: ink wasn't even dry on the statements that went out,
38:15
Speaker 2: members of the Republican Party, including State Treasurer Larry Pack,
38:18
Speaker 2: issued something to refute what the governor said. I said
38:21
Speaker 2: this on the show yesterday, and I mean this with
38:23
Speaker 2: all due respect. If the governor's done anything, he's united
38:27
Speaker 2: a lot of people, Republicans and Democrats asking questions about
38:30
Speaker 2: these vouchers.
38:31
Speaker 4: Well, I think it's a matter of misplaced priorities on
38:33
Speaker 4: the part of Patrick Morrissey and his administration. I mean,
38:36
Speaker 4: they need to find a way to make this happen.
38:38
Speaker 4: There are too many families that rely on this, on
38:41
Speaker 4: this clothing voucher, this time of year where he had
38:44
Speaker 4: to spend a little extra money to get your kids
38:46
Speaker 4: ready for school. And there's also retailers who rely on this. Now,
38:49
Speaker 4: you know, thanks to Delegate Minority Leader Hornbuckle and several
38:54
Speaker 4: of us in the Democratic Caucus who were able to
38:56
Speaker 4: work in an amendment for this tax free holiday that
38:59
Speaker 4: we had. Those that goes hand in hand with the
39:02
Speaker 4: clothing voucher and Unfortunately it wasn't a priority of the
39:05
Speaker 4: Morrissey administration. And I was really confused by his statement
39:09
Speaker 4: yesterday acting like this is something that we like. It's
39:11
Speaker 4: like it's like it's so it's wasteful to help children
39:14
Speaker 4: in need, Yet they find a way to fund the
39:18
Speaker 4: Hope Voucher program over three hundred million dollars this year.
39:22
Speaker 4: So to me, it's a matter of priorities. And I say,
39:23
Speaker 4: there's plenty of blame to go around. I mean, Treasurer
39:25
Speaker 4: Pack can say what he wants, but he was he's
39:27
Speaker 4: been out there championing the uh, the Hope Voucher program,
39:30
Speaker 4: which has blown a big hole in the budget. So
39:33
Speaker 4: if we can't afford things, I'd say the Treasurer Pack, Uh,
39:37
Speaker 4: you know is also to blame here.
39:39
Speaker 2: But I mean we're not talking about like two different
39:41
Speaker 2: pots here.
39:43
Speaker 4: You know, it's a matter again it's a matter of Yeah,
39:45
Speaker 4: it's two different pots, but it's still a matter of
39:47
Speaker 4: priorities if you're going to backfill it somehow. Uh, you know,
39:50
Speaker 4: you cannot have this discussion without talking about the huge
39:54
Speaker 4: hole that is being blown in the budget by completely
39:57
Speaker 4: opening up the Hope Voucher program to families that have
40:00
Speaker 4: never even set foot in a public school.
40:04
Speaker 2: Talking to State Democratic Party chair in Delegate Mike Pushkin,
40:06
Speaker 2: a quick programming note, Delegate Vernon Chris, never a fan
40:09
Speaker 2: of Governor Morris, Who's gonna be on talk line today
40:11
Speaker 2: with Wilson Meadows that should be much listened to radio.
40:14
Speaker 2: I'm going to get your opinion on something else might
40:16
Speaker 2: get the State Republican Party summer meeting Saturday in Charleston.
40:19
Speaker 2: A couple of things of note. One heavy to do
40:20
Speaker 2: with allowing independent voters to vote in the primary election.
40:24
Speaker 1: Now.
40:24
Speaker 2: The party chair Josh Holstein was on with Meadows and
40:26
Speaker 2: Wilson yesterday and talk Line we had the co chair
40:29
Speaker 2: Tony Hodge on midday yesterday, both saying that this constant
40:33
Speaker 2: debate over the subject of whether independent should be allowed
40:37
Speaker 2: to vote in the Republican primary. They both said, paraphrasing,
40:41
Speaker 2: that's been sucking all the oxygen out of the room
40:43
Speaker 2: in their recent meetings. So they're going to allow it
40:46
Speaker 2: to be discussed in twenty twenty seven, but then after
40:49
Speaker 2: that it can only be brought up every four years.
40:52
Speaker 2: So they did a bilag change there, so they'll discuss
40:54
Speaker 2: it in twenty twenty seven, but then it won't be
40:56
Speaker 2: able to be debated in a formal setting at a
40:59
Speaker 2: Republican met until twenty thirty one. Your thoughts, I know
41:03
Speaker 2: you're not part of the Republican Party.
41:04
Speaker 4: Because I mean, that's on them. It's not a debate
41:07
Speaker 4: on our side. We have chosen to include independent, unaffiliated voters.
41:13
Speaker 4: We want to welcome people to have as part of
41:15
Speaker 4: the decision making process in our primaries, and I think
41:19
Speaker 4: our primaries turned out quite well because of that, and
41:22
Speaker 4: we had a very good democratic turnout in West Virginia,
41:27
Speaker 4: partially because we've kept our primaries open so they can
41:30
Speaker 4: do what they want. If they want to limit debate
41:32
Speaker 4: and be undemocratic like that, that is on them. That's
41:35
Speaker 4: on them.
41:36
Speaker 2: And also discussed they basically disavowed Elliot Print, the now
41:42
Speaker 2: former delegate who's still on the ballot. I mean it
41:44
Speaker 2: was a unanimous vote from what I understand, to basically
41:46
Speaker 2: say we they can say you're no longer a Republican.
41:50
Speaker 2: I mean, we don't recognize you really really that it
41:54
Speaker 2: doesn't really hold. I understand it's more symbolic.
41:57
Speaker 4: Than it is. That's an easy and I'm sure it was.
42:01
Speaker 4: It was a decision to do so. But really it
42:03
Speaker 4: doesn't really hold any water. It doesn't really mean anything.
42:07
Speaker 4: He won the Republican primary. I'm not sure if he
42:11
Speaker 4: had an opponent, but after the primary he is the
42:13
Speaker 4: Republican nominee. And parties don't have the power to kick
42:17
Speaker 4: people out of the party.
42:19
Speaker 2: Well, but you know, if you had an issue with
42:21
Speaker 2: somebody in the Democratic Party, you could easily just say, hey,
42:25
Speaker 2: you're on your own, don't expect help from us.
42:27
Speaker 4: But cannot kick somebody out of the party. Is that
42:31
Speaker 4: that's a personal decision of how somebody registers to vote,
42:33
Speaker 4: how they run for office, and the party doesn't have
42:36
Speaker 4: that kind of power. State Elections Commission party rules that
42:39
Speaker 4: do not supersed state law. That's what's important.
42:42
Speaker 2: And the state Election Commission is going to meet this Friday,
42:45
Speaker 2: I understand, to try to make a decision to where
42:47
Speaker 2: to go from here, because there's so many nuances here.
42:50
Speaker 2: I mean, you know, this is not as simple as
42:54
Speaker 2: because of deadlines and so this is not as simple
42:56
Speaker 2: as you say, Okay, you're not on the ballot.
42:58
Speaker 4: I think it. I mean, it's really it is. Unfortunately,
43:01
Speaker 4: you know it is quite simple because you mentioned my
43:04
Speaker 4: counterpart on the Republican side, Chairman Holstein. He championed the
43:08
Speaker 4: bill several years ago, and many of us stood up
43:11
Speaker 4: and spoke against it, and I know all the Democrats
43:13
Speaker 4: voted against it. But the purpose of that bill is
43:16
Speaker 4: to make it very difficult to replace somebody on the
43:20
Speaker 4: ballot after the primary. So he got his way, he
43:24
Speaker 4: got the bill. He got that. You know, that's law now,
43:26
Speaker 4: and you know it's important that we follow the law.
43:29
Speaker 4: But I voted against it. I think it's a bad law,
43:32
Speaker 4: but you know what, it is the law, and they
43:33
Speaker 4: need to follow it. Just because it doesn't work for
43:35
Speaker 4: them anymore doesn't mean they can just thumb their nose
43:38
Speaker 4: at it.
43:39
Speaker 2: So back to Ellioprid here for a moment. I mean,
43:42
Speaker 2: this is interesting. I mean his political career has been
43:45
Speaker 2: very interesting because he was a Democrat and then he
43:48
Speaker 2: switched to Republican because I'm paraphrasing, he said he wanted
43:51
Speaker 2: to align himself with the party that was more along
43:55
Speaker 2: his lines. Of course, everybody if he's guilty of this,
43:57
Speaker 2: and again it's everybody's innocential proven guilty. But if he
44:00
Speaker 2: is guilty of this, and it ain't looking good right
44:03
Speaker 2: now for him. You know, I think here nobody's gonna
44:07
Speaker 2: disagree that he should be punished at the fullest extent
44:09
Speaker 2: of law, obviously, But he's been a very interesting political guy.
44:12
Speaker 4: Well, look, Elliott Pritt has switched parties. He has made
44:17
Speaker 4: ten party changes. I believe ten party changes.
44:21
Speaker 2: It's been that many.
44:22
Speaker 4: Yes, he went from Republican to Democrat to Mountain Party.
44:26
Speaker 4: He ran Mountain Party one year. He's I think one
44:29
Speaker 4: time he wrote in that he was He wrote in
44:32
Speaker 4: under Governor said he was a social He wrote that
44:34
Speaker 4: in on one of his Yeah, I have the screen
44:36
Speaker 4: capture that he wrote that in on He's. But he
44:38
Speaker 4: has gone back and forth, and I'd say what he
44:41
Speaker 4: is is and has been. And I've felt this way
44:45
Speaker 4: for a long time, even before this horrific news broke.
44:47
Speaker 4: He's an opportunist. And that's why I never had much
44:52
Speaker 4: for the guy.
44:52
Speaker 2: I tell you, all right, we got to leave it.
44:53
Speaker 2: They We're gonna take a break to hang out with me.
44:55
Speaker 2: One second's nine to fifty three back after this in
44:57
Speaker 2: the Voice of Charleston w CHS. The Dave Allen Show
45:01

48:05
Speaker 4: I got to actually got to sit in with the
48:06
Speaker 4: Davison Brothers when they played at Yakfest. A couple of
48:09
Speaker 4: weeks ago and Saint Albans is fun. We had a
48:11
Speaker 4: good time. I've known those guys since they were just
48:13
Speaker 4: we little Davison brothers, done them for a long time.
48:16
Speaker 2: And they were Davis and babies, all right. So how
48:19
Speaker 2: you mentioned the campaigns. How's the campaigns looking for the
48:21
Speaker 2: fault state Democratic Party? But you guys have got some
48:24
Speaker 2: You got some names on ballots which you haven't always
48:26
Speaker 2: had the last couple of years. You know, kudos to
48:28
Speaker 2: you and your staff are actually putting people on the
48:31
Speaker 2: ballot because I've said, I don't care whether you're a
48:32
Speaker 2: Republican or Democrat. I think people need to have a
48:34
Speaker 2: choice and and so you, you and the others have
48:38
Speaker 2: done a great job. So congratulations on that. And I'm
48:41
Speaker 2: told talking to a political insider over the weekend that
48:45
Speaker 2: Democrats are going to pick up some seats and West.
48:47
Speaker 4: We're cautiously optimistic, but we're going to put in the work. Well,
48:50
Speaker 4: we do have great candidates. I think if you if
48:52
Speaker 4: you measure our candidates along their opponents, our candidates are
48:56
Speaker 4: just heads and shoulders above what the Republicans have to
48:59
Speaker 4: offer this year. And I think across the country, though
49:02
Speaker 4: we're seeing people are just are fed up with the
49:04
Speaker 4: way things are going on. People are tired of paying
49:07
Speaker 4: high gas prices. Yeah, the President said he was going
49:10
Speaker 4: to tackle inflation on day one, and he did not
49:14
Speaker 4: do that. Prices continue to go up, and he started
49:17
Speaker 4: an unnecessary war that he's having a really hard time
49:20
Speaker 4: getting out of.
49:21
Speaker 8: Uh.
49:21
Speaker 2: We had a text from somebody that was at the
49:23
Speaker 2: meeting to a Republican meeting saying, Elliott pre absolutely got
49:27
Speaker 2: kicked out of the GOP. It's a done deal.
49:29
Speaker 4: You can't just look if if that was the case,
49:32
Speaker 4: then I got a list. Now if people we could
49:34
Speaker 4: go kick out of the party. You can't just the party.
49:36
Speaker 4: Can't just kick the Democrats that you would kick out. No,
49:39
Speaker 4: of course not.
49:39
Speaker 8: There is no joke.
49:40
Speaker 4: I was joking, Well, what about on a national on
49:43
Speaker 4: a national Yeah, that's that's the precedent that so say
49:46
Speaker 4: there's a primary today in Michigan, that is that the
49:49
Speaker 4: precedent they want to send is the Michigan Democratic Party
49:52
Speaker 4: doesn't think that this candidate that got more votes should
49:55
Speaker 4: be that is a better one for the fall, So
49:56
Speaker 4: they could just kick them out. A political party can't
50:00
Speaker 4: just kick somebody out of the party. If that's a
50:03
Speaker 4: personal decision. Somebody registered that way and they ran, and
50:05
Speaker 4: they got more votes in the primary. That is the nominee,
50:08
Speaker 4: whether they like it or not, and party rules do
50:12
Speaker 4: not supersede state law.
50:14
Speaker 2: Tex says, you know, besides Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito,
50:17
Speaker 2: I think we need to have other great representatives in
50:20
Speaker 2: West Virginia who truly are not nationally known, but we
50:23
Speaker 2: do a great job. Ben Selango, Lance Wheeler, etc. To
50:26
Speaker 2: visit Congress and the legacy media journalists to teach these
50:29
Speaker 2: people how to freaking get along, even though they are
50:31
Speaker 2: from different sides of the political spectrum, how to disagree
50:35
Speaker 2: without being just nasty, insulting, and disrespectful to each other.
50:38
Speaker 2: That's the issue. It's the sheer, mean girls type of
50:41
Speaker 2: personal hatred spewed toward each other that I'm sick.
50:43
Speaker 4: Of in DC. That was a whole lot, but one
50:46
Speaker 4: thing that it seems that Republicans and Democrats have been
50:48
Speaker 4: agreeing on, if you want to end on a positive
50:50
Speaker 4: note here, we have been agreeing on our concern about
50:54
Speaker 4: flock cameras and how you know, invasive that is, so
51:01
Speaker 4: you know, against some people's right to privacy.
51:03
Speaker 2: The Republicans and Democrats are coming together on that. Many
51:06
Speaker 2: of them have come together on on Elliott Print. Many
51:08
Speaker 2: have come together on school vouchers. We are closer to
51:11
Speaker 2: having one party in West Virginia.
51:14
Speaker 4: I don't know, but I don't know how close we
51:15
Speaker 4: are in school about we actually want to fund it
51:17
Speaker 4: and UH and the school voucher program and help. We
51:21
Speaker 4: need to prioritize helping these kids going into the school year. Now,
51:24
Speaker 4: are you all right?
51:26
Speaker 2: Pushkin?
51:26
Speaker 4: Appreciate you being here, my friend. Thanks for having me on.
