Marco's Birthday Boxes Bring Joy | Lexington News
In honor of their beloved son Marco, who lived by the superhero code of helping others, his parents Liz and Ben Shemwell launched the Marco Shemwell Foundation to spread birthday joy to kids who might otherwise go without. This year’s second annual Birthday Box event aims to pack a thousand boxes—filled with cake, frosting, gifts, and cards—turning Marco’s spirit of giving into a community-wide celebration. Volunteers gather August 23rd at Baker Intermediate School to assemble these kits, bringing smiles to children across counties and keeping Marco’s legacy alive through acts of kindness…
