- 0:01Speaker 1: Paul Wright coming to you live from Mount to Monte Springs. Lord,
- 0:04Speaker 1: this is the Ember show your host. First and foremost,
- 0:06Speaker 1: let's get into prayer, Lord, Father that arts in heaven.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I come to you in prayer to be able to
- 0:10Speaker 1: have the Holy Spirit, be able to speak through this mic.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Go do the listener's ears and reach their hearts and
- 0:15Speaker 1: minds and be able to apply these verses to their
- 0:18Speaker 1: lives in the Lord Jesus Christ name, I pray.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Amen.
- 0:21Speaker 1: So we're gonna be in Matthew chapter nine. If you
- 0:23Speaker 1: wanna go ahead and grab your bibles and read along
- 0:27Speaker 1: as you hear along. I highly suggest. And I also
- 0:31Speaker 1: want to state before I get into Matthew chapter nine,
- 0:35Speaker 1: to give you some time, I want to do the
- 0:37Speaker 1: Verse of the Day Romans Chapter twelve, Verse one states,
- 0:41Speaker 1: my Christian friends, God has been very kind to us.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Because of that.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I really want you to serve God with your whole life,
- 0:49Speaker 1: offer your bodies to Him like a sacrifice that continues
- 0:54Speaker 1: to live.
- 0:55Speaker 2: So this isn't a.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Sacrifice where you're dead.
- 0:59Speaker 2: You know you live for Christ.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Serve Him with everything that you have and that will
- 1:05Speaker 1: please him. That is the true way to worship God
- 1:09Speaker 1: and I got one point four million hearts on it
- 1:13Speaker 1: on the Bible app and as well as this is
- 1:20Speaker 1: easy English Bible twenty twenty four. If you want to
- 1:23Speaker 1: get on the Bible app and read what the language
- 1:25Speaker 1: is obviously English, but they have new Living Translation, they
- 1:30Speaker 1: have new International version.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Whatever suits you. And that's what I love about it.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Because the Holy Bible, when it was written back then,
- 1:38Speaker 1: whether it's the New Testament or the Old Testament, it's
- 1:41Speaker 1: kind of hard. And that's why Bible study is so
- 1:44Speaker 1: crucial because we can break down these Bible verses and
- 1:47Speaker 1: be able to apply them to our lives like.
- 1:49Speaker 2: It's intended to.
- 1:50Speaker 1: And we as prophets are required and have to be
- 1:55Speaker 1: an obedient participant to that. I love doing these things.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It's not something that I feel as if, oh I
- 2:01Speaker 1: have to do it. I want to do it. So
- 2:03Speaker 1: let's make that clear. And it's going to be Jesus
- 2:06Speaker 1: helps a man who cannot walk. How many of us
- 2:10Speaker 1: are in that seasonal period of our life right where
- 2:14Speaker 1: it's not just about the walk, it's just we just
- 2:18Speaker 1: we have bad thoughts, We have bad emotions that consume
- 2:22Speaker 1: us on a regular basis, and being able to have
- 2:27Speaker 1: Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Having that relationship with Jesus,
- 2:31Speaker 1: it really does help. Taking it from somebody that was
- 2:34Speaker 1: once just a believer now a follower of Christ. I'm
- 2:37Speaker 1: not perfect, but I serve a perfect King and his
- 2:42Speaker 1: Father in Heaven, and I just I can't put it
- 2:48Speaker 1: into words that can describe exactly what it really means
- 2:53Speaker 1: to have the Holy Spirit with me each and every day,
- 2:57Speaker 1: each and every second, I feel its presence. And the
- 3:02Speaker 1: best part about, you know, making this decision is going
- 3:06Speaker 1: through trials and tribulations, and I know that I'm going
- 3:09Speaker 1: off a little extended.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I'm going a.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Little deeper because this is the Ember show, your host Ember,
- 3:15Speaker 1: and I want to be able to share my faith
- 3:18Speaker 1: with you.
- 3:19Speaker 2: So let's jump into it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Matthew Chapter nine, Verse one states Then Jesus got back
- 3:24Speaker 1: into the boat. He sailed across to the other side
- 3:30Speaker 1: of the lake again. He went to Capronam, the town
- 3:35Speaker 1: where he was living.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Verse two. Some men came to see Jesus. There.
- 3:40Speaker 1: They carried with them a man who could not move
- 3:44Speaker 1: his legs. He was living on a mat, lying on
- 3:48Speaker 1: a mat either way, same thing, right. Jesus knew that
- 3:53Speaker 1: they believed in him. He said to the man who
- 3:56Speaker 1: could not walk, do not be afraid, my friend. I
- 4:01Speaker 1: forgive you for the wrong things that you have done.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Verse three.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Then some teachers of God's law said to themselves, this
- 4:07Speaker 1: man is speaking as if he is God.
- 4:10Speaker 2: This is not right.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Jesus verse four knew what the teachers were thinking, so
- 4:17Speaker 1: he said to them, you should not think these bad
- 4:21Speaker 1: things in your mind.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Verse five.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I said to this man, I forgive you for the
- 4:26Speaker 1: wrong things that you have done. Instead, I could have
- 4:29Speaker 1: said to him, stand up and walk, which one is
- 4:33Speaker 1: easier for you to say.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Verse six. But I want you to know this.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I say, the Son of Man have authority on earth.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I can forgive people for the wrong things they have done.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Then Jesus said to the man who could not walk, listen.
- 4:51Speaker 1: This is where he gets deep, because he already knew
- 4:53Speaker 1: what they were thinking. He already knew He already knew
- 4:57Speaker 1: that they would try to fin find some faults in him. Right, So,
- 5:02Speaker 1: and Jesus didn't care. Stand up, pick up your mat,
- 5:06Speaker 1: and go home. The man stood up and he went home.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Verse eight.
- 5:11Speaker 1: The crowds of people saw what had happened. They were
- 5:16Speaker 1: very surprised and afraid. See, I want to talk about
- 5:20Speaker 1: Matthew chapter nine, verse eight, real quick. When you experience
- 5:24Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit, whether it's in other people or whether
- 5:28Speaker 1: it's in you, there's gonna be some surprises.
- 5:31Speaker 2: There's gonna be some times.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Where you feel a little afraid. This isn't all about
- 5:37Speaker 1: being protected. It's all about learning how to be growing
- 5:42Speaker 1: in the spirit. Now, of course, there's going to be
- 5:47Speaker 1: times where you're still gonna be scared. In the follow
- 5:51Speaker 1: a following Christ, there's still gonna be times when you
- 5:55Speaker 1: were down and out and you don't feel the presence
- 5:58Speaker 1: of God.
- 5:59Speaker 2: You don't think about the presence of God.
- 6:02Speaker 1: You are consumed by the distractions and the enemy. But
- 6:05Speaker 1: this is where faith comes in. It only takes faith
- 6:07Speaker 1: of a mustartid. Let me go a little deeper. They
- 6:09Speaker 1: saw that God had given so much authority to a man.
- 6:13Speaker 1: So they praised God, and they said, and God is great.
- 6:18Speaker 1: You know the saying where it says God is good
- 6:20Speaker 1: all the time. I love to re reverse that.
- 6:25Speaker 2: In a sense, good is such an understatement. God is great.
- 6:30Speaker 1: As I'm out here in my wilderness season and I'm
- 6:33Speaker 1: outside as I record this right, the nature, the mother nature,
- 6:38Speaker 1: everything that has been created by God. It is so great,
- 6:43Speaker 1: including me, including you.
- 6:47Speaker 2: See, we have been able to come to the realization.
- 6:54Speaker 1: That just like how the trees have branches and they
- 6:58Speaker 1: have roots and they have so many different.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Things, exactly, that's what we are as well. These trees that.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I'm around right now are living. We are living. We
- 7:08Speaker 1: have the choice. The trees don't necessarily have a choice,
- 7:12Speaker 1: but they have a purpose. They feed us oxygen. Okay, listen,
- 7:17Speaker 1: you have a purpose in this life. You have a purpose.
- 7:21Speaker 1: God has a plan, and he can have plans, not
- 7:25Speaker 1: just one plan. The plan is to follow his son
- 7:29Speaker 1: and spread the good gospel of Jesus Christ.
- 7:32Speaker 2: But what comes with that. We have gifts, spiritual gifts
- 7:36Speaker 2: that are put into us.
- 7:37Speaker 1: And we can get into that in a whole other podcast.
- 7:40Speaker 1: But I want to go ahead and see where we're
- 7:42Speaker 1: at in time. We're doing good, so let's just keep going.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Jesus ask Matthew to be his disciple. Now we're in
- 7:51Speaker 1: Matthew chapter nine, verse nine. Jesus went away from that
- 7:55Speaker 1: place while he he saw a man called Matthew. Matthew's
- 8:02Speaker 1: job was to take taxes from people. He was sitting
- 8:06Speaker 1: in his office Jesus said to him, come with me
- 8:09Speaker 1: and be my disciple. So Matthew stood up and he
- 8:13Speaker 1: went with Jesus. Now, think about this for Matthew. From
- 8:16Speaker 1: Matthew's point of view. Okay, Matthew is a tax collector.
- 8:22Speaker 1: He's actually living pretty well as tax collectors back in
- 8:27Speaker 1: that day did, and being as.
- 8:33Speaker 2: He just knew that that was the son of.
- 8:38Speaker 1: God, whether he heard about.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Him or not before.
- 8:45Speaker 1: When Jesus is in front of you and he chooses you,
- 8:49Speaker 1: it's kind of hard to say no.
- 8:53Speaker 2: It's kind of hard to say no. You don't hear
- 8:54Speaker 2: a lot of people.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You hear a lot of stories where people did deny him,
- 8:58Speaker 1: you know, Peter and all that, but towards the end
- 9:01Speaker 1: three times before he was crucified. But we're talking about
- 9:03Speaker 1: right now, right here in this verse. I want to
- 9:06Speaker 1: be able to apply this to your life, the listener,
- 9:10Speaker 1: This could be your call to not just follow Christ,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but to start believing in Jesus Christ.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Ooh, let me go deep, Let me go deep.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Verse ten later, Jesus went to eat a meal in
- 9:24Speaker 1: Matthew's house. Many bad people and men took taxes also
- 9:29Speaker 1: came to the house. They came to eat there with
- 9:32Speaker 1: Jesus and his disciples. Verse eleven. Some pharisees saw what
- 9:37Speaker 1: was happening. They said, to Jesus, disciples, your teacher is
- 9:40Speaker 1: eating a meal.
- 9:41Speaker 2: With these bad people. That is not right.
- 9:44Speaker 1: They are people who do not obey God, and some
- 9:48Speaker 1: of them take taxes from people. Let us go deep.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Jesus is about to speak. Verse twelve. Jesus heard what
- 9:56Speaker 1: the pharisees were saying. He said to them, people who
- 9:59Speaker 1: are well do not need a doctor. It is people
- 10:04Speaker 1: who are ill that need a doctor.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Verse thirteen. Goes even deeper.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Go and study what it says in the Bible. God
- 10:10Speaker 1: says there, I want people to be kind to each other.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I do not want them only to offer sacrifices to me.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Some people think that they always obey God. I did
- 10:22Speaker 1: not come to help people like that.
- 10:31Speaker 2: HM goes even deeper and goes even deeper.
- 10:37Speaker 1: But some people know that they have done wrong things.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I am asking those people to come to me for help.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Oh, getting deeper now.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Jesus teaching his new teaching, a teaching on teaching. Let's
- 10:55Speaker 1: go then, the disciples. This is verse fourteen, verse verse fourteen.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Matthew Chapter nine still. Then the disciples of John the
- 11:03Speaker 1: Baptist came to Jesus. They said to him, we often
- 11:07Speaker 1: decide to fast for a time. The disciples of the
- 11:11Speaker 1: Pharisees also do that. Why do your disciples never do that,
- 11:17Speaker 1: Jesus answered them. When a man marries, his friends cannot
- 11:23Speaker 1: be sad. They cannot refuse to eat food while he
- 11:28Speaker 1: is with them. But there will be a time when
- 11:31Speaker 1: people will take the man away from his friends. At
- 11:37Speaker 1: that time, his friends will choose to fast. Then, Jesus said,
- 11:41Speaker 1: nobody uses a piece of new cloth to mend an
- 11:44Speaker 1: old coat. If he does, the new cloth will cause
- 11:48Speaker 1: the old cloth to tear again. It will make a
- 11:53Speaker 1: bigger hole than before. You cannot sit here and be
- 12:02Speaker 1: of this world and have the relationship with Jesus Christ.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I've tried it. Many have tried it. There's a lot
- 12:13Speaker 1: of testimonies out there. I had highly encourage you to
- 12:15Speaker 1: do your research and realize that Jesus came to a
- 12:23Speaker 1: broken world.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Jesus knew.
- 12:30Speaker 1: That the Pharisees would try to find fault in him.
- 12:37Speaker 1: He also knew the hard working people everybody was a sinner.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Everybody was falling short of his father's standards. He was
- 12:48Speaker 1: kind hearted, he was in the flesh.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Let me go deeper, God's son.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Human to show God's mercy, not only just his mercy.
- 13:07Speaker 2: But his grace, his teaching the way of living.
- 13:13Speaker 1: To not just be around people that are so called
- 13:17Speaker 1: doing righteous
