  I feel like it's just falling completely apart, but that's

  kind of what's cool, man. Like if you just let college

  football play out, it's going to mix things up.

  I am a little sad that we both had a pretty rough week and feel

  like I would still pick the same way.

  I feel like I was on the right side of all of it.

  Anyways, we're not going to talk about it, but dude, excited.

  Another week in college football.

  There's chills. There's chills in the air.

  I couldn't help but, yeah, carrying my, you know, month and

  a half old son outside and it was cold and I had to put a

  blanket around him. And I'm like, this is just

  exactly what I've always wanted. This is so good.

  So dude, it's great. Dude, there's nothing like, to

  me like when it gets cool in the mornings especially, yeah, like

  a black coffee in the morning whenever it's a little bit cool

  outside, like open up the door and just feel the cold air while

  you sip the hot coffee. I mean, that's, that's an elite

  feeling, especially, especially on a college football Saturday.

  Dude, try standing on a brand new back deck that you just

  built. A couple months ago with your

  hands. Dude.

  With your bare hands. Both of them, man.

  And a couple others. Some other people were involved,

  but this was great, man. It's great.

  I love it, Daniel. First quarter man, kind of a

  packed week 8. What's What's one thing you

  learned? Yeah, man, I for me, hearing the
• 2:59
  way Kirby Smart talked about this Georgia team after after
• 3:04
  just an impressive win against Ole Miss, a game that looked
• 3:07
  like was potentially going to slip away, Ole Miss was dialing
• 3:11
  it up on offense. Kirby Smart simply said we're
• 3:13
  hard to kill. We're hard to kill.
• 3:15
  So I think the Georgia being hard to kill is kind of
• 3:19
  something that's going to embody this season in mental toughness,
• 3:23
  resilience, whatever you want to call it, composure.
• 3:26
  They just seem like they're comfortable in any situation.
• 3:29
  And you know, it's weird for us because usually it's like the
• 3:33
  defense is ahead of the offense offer a Kirby Smart team for the
• 3:36
  most part. So right, you know, now it's
• 3:39
  like, OK, the offense is carrying the defense, something
• 3:41
  Mike Bobo is used to. Back when he was under Rick, it
• 3:44
  was I think they were scoring 40 points a game and yeah, giving
• 3:48
  up like 38. So it was like he had to, he had
• 3:51
  to outscore every opponent. It could not be easy.
• 3:54
  So yeah, just something I'm I'm keeping an eye on.
• 3:57
  But yeah. So one thing I learned, I guess
• 3:59
  is, you know, George is hard to kill.

  Like we saw it, you know, come to be proven multiple times.
• 4:06
  Even the game they lost against Alabama, they were in it.
• 4:09
  They had opportunities. They were right there.
• 4:12
  You know, even though they got they got down early.
• 4:15
  So they had their opportunity to win that game.

  I think that's going to be true going forward the rest of the
• 4:20
  season in every game that Georgia plays.

  Which we don't share notes prior to prior to recording.

  And if you're watching on YouTube, I mean verbatim, my
• 4:29
  first point was, Oh, it's blurry.

  George is hard to kill. That was my that was my thing.

  I learned I was in Sanford stadium Saturday.

  I I saw some stuff on Twitter about like, I've never seen a
• 4:39
  Georgia defense like worse under Kirby smart.

  It's funny because it you know, it feels different in the
• 4:44
  stadium as far as like what you're watching and you know,
• 4:47
  you watch Ole Miss strides on the field and I'm like that kind
• 4:49
  of felt like a long drive and you look and it's like, wow, 15
• 4:52
  plays, you know, 65 yards in 5 minutes.

  It's just like that was kind of methodical and he kept being
• 4:58
  like, man, I feel like George is that close to getting some of
• 5:01
  these plays and same thing. I mean with Georgia being hard
• 5:04
  to kill, man, I mean, Gunner Stockton, I've definitely
• 5:06
  doubted him. It sent by points this year.
• 5:08
  Enough with the national media's doubted him by points this year.

  Can Georgia get to where they want to go?
• 5:11
  I thought that's been a little foolish.
• 5:14
  If you've watched George this year of the Gunners, the reason
• 5:17
  George is not going to get to where they want to go, Like to
• 5:19
  me, if George is not going to compete for a championship this
• 5:22
  year, it's because the defense is not up to a Kirby Smart
• 5:24
  standard. Because this offense, Daniel, I
• 5:27
  know it was an almost defense, but for him to go 26 to 31289
• 5:31
  yards, 9.3 per attempt, a 97 QBR in this game, he was 12 for 12
• 5:37
  in the second-half. He ran the ball 10 times for 60
• 5:40
  yards, Dude, he's a winner. And then, you know, it's been a
• 5:44
  hilarious thing to watch. You know, if you want to, you
• 5:47
  know, if you're a betting person, it's like just take the
• 5:50
  other team in the first half against Georgia and then bet
• 5:52
  Georgia in the second-half because it's just been, dude,
• 5:55
  minus Kentucky. It's for SEC games like this,
• 5:57
  man. And, you know, in stadium,
• 5:59
  Georgia plays a little video of we own the fourth quarter 17.

  Nothing in the fourth quarter, Daniel, when they needed to get
• 6:05
  a stop, they got to stop when they needed the defensive line,
• 6:08
  which has kind of been absent it feels like all year to make
• 6:11
  stop. They're they're batting balls
• 6:13
  down. They're getting quarterback
• 6:14
  pressure in the fourth quarter. It's a long season.

  They will be favored the rest of the way.

  I know we're watching other teams.
• 6:21
  You know, Texas I still think is a big game for Georgia.

  If they survive, Daniel or if they can survive with, I mean,
• 6:28
  honestly, they can lose into the game if they can survive on this
• 6:30
  end of the game. I think being in games like this
• 6:33
  and winning is going to pay dividends come playoff time
• 6:37
  because it's like the NFL now where it's, it's a second
• 6:39
  season. We saw it with Ohio State last
• 6:41
  year. They lose their last game of the
• 6:42
  regular season against their biggest rival for the fourth
• 6:45
  year in a row and it did not matter one iota because they're
• 6:49
  going to playoff run. I think that them winning games
• 6:52
  like this is going to matter come November, December,
• 6:57
  January, because heck, you know, Ohio State, which I think is the
• 7:01
  best team in the country and other dominating people.
• 7:03
  What if Ohio State gets in a close game?
• 7:05
  They might still win and they might be fine.
• 7:07
  They might win the national championship this year, but we
• 7:08
  haven't seen it. So I think it's it's different
• 7:11
  to have a team of players who has seen it, felt it been right
• 7:15
  there and been like, it doesn't matter.

  Like we're it's a four quarter game and we have them right
• 7:19
  where you want them no matter what.

  So yeah, I was just really impressed.

  I think it's, it's hard to describe what Georgia does
• 7:26
  because I mean, Kirby, they don't do anything different.

  It's just you got to go 60 minutes for George and they're
• 7:30
  hard to kill. I think he described it really
• 7:31
  well. So that was that was fun to

  watch Saturday. Fun game too, man, this 2 great
• 7:37
  teams going at it and an offensive shootout.

  Feel like defense wasn't a great game to be a part of.

  A fun game nonetheless. Daniel, 2 questions moving

  forward. What's your first question as we
• 7:47
  move forward into Week 9? Yeah.

  My, my first question is regarding Lane Kiffin.
• 7:53
  His name came up. Obviously, George, Ole Miss was
• 7:55
  huge, but his name came up. Some coaches have been fired.

  We're going to probably talk about that here in just a
• 8:01
  moment. But would would Lane Kiffin
• 8:05
  leave Ole Miss for any of the current openings?
• 8:07
  And the reason I even asked that is a few years ago, I feel like
• 8:11
  that Lane Kiffin would leave potentially.
• 8:15
  But by all estimation, I mean, he's different.
• 8:19
  He's in, you know, he's the same coach and all that kind of
• 8:23
  stuff. But as far as like what's
• 8:25
  important to him, his family, also the college football
• 8:29
  landscape is different. But I asked that question with
• 8:32
  some weight to it. Like, you know, if he if he were
• 8:35
  to get offered jobs, like his rumor to have gotten offered the
• 8:39
  Auburn job a couple years ago, many people were like, oh, he
• 8:43
  just used it to get, you know, a better contract.
• 8:46
  You know, Jimmy Sexton at his finest, whatever, you know, for
• 8:49
  getting a better deal with with Ole Miss rather than going to
• 8:51
  Auburn. That may have been part of it.
• 8:53
  But like, Florida's open now. Florida's, you know, you and I
• 8:58
  have ranked as a top five job. You know, there's other jobs
• 9:01
  that are rumored to potentially go open.
• 9:03
  You've always got Penn State. I think Lane Kiffin's the SEC
• 9:05
  guy myself. But all that to be said, like
• 9:08
  Lane has been wildly not thought of as well.
• 9:11
  He's Florida's top target, you know, and Dan Mullen famously
• 9:14
  said after he got fired that they should have gone after Lane
• 9:16
  Kiffin and all that kind of stuff.
• 9:18
  And I mean, certainly you, you think the personality kind of
• 9:21
  fits, you know, what people like to imagine Florida being.
• 9:24
  But I mean, does he want to go all the way to Florida, start
• 9:29
  from a much lower rung on the ladder than he currently is?
• 9:33
  I think it's kind of the same question I asked a couple weeks
• 9:35
  ago about Kurt Signet, I guess last week, Kurt Signetti with
• 9:39
  Penn State. Like, does he really need to
• 9:41
  leave right now for another, you know, within the same
• 9:44
  conference? I think if you're leaving
• 9:46
  conferences, that's one thing. But if you're staying in the
• 9:48
  same conference, I think that, you know, you factor in, you
• 9:52
  know, is it a lateral move? Is it a move up, a move down?
• 9:56
  And then obviously, you know, would he leave at this point?
• 9:59
  He's, you know, his family's really important to him at this
• 10:02
  season and everybody seems to be really, you know, glued in with
• 10:07
  that Mississippi community. So I would lean no, I don't
• 10:11
  think that he would leave for anything currently open.
• 10:13
  That's that's my take on it. Which is interesting because but
• 10:17
  Elliott said that two years ago, Lynn Kiffin would have crawled
• 10:20
  over a broken glass for the Florida job.
• 10:21
  And I just don't know if that's the case anymore, given where
• 10:24
  the landscape is, where he's at. And my first question was, I
• 10:27
  mean, what is the new era coaching carousel look like?
• 10:30
  Like I'm just really curious how many of these guys that are
• 10:33
  again, at I mean, Lane Kiffin can go do exactly what he's
• 10:36
  doing right now, exactly what he's doing right now and be the
• 10:39
  greatest coach in Ole Miss history.
• 10:41
  Like because of where that football program's been versus
• 10:44
  Do you you know, I, I just wonder like, I know these guys
• 10:48
  are a different breed and they want to win.
• 10:50
  But one, I think you can say that Ole Miss could win a
• 10:54
  championship at Ole Miss when you couldn't say that even five
• 10:59
  years ago. I don't think it's likely still
• 11:02
  like I still think the haves are going to be more likely to win
• 11:04
  more championships and stuff. But and then at his point in his
• 11:07
  career, does he want to win a natty or is he happy with the
• 11:13
  chance? You know what I mean?
• 11:14
  Of like, I can get in the playoff and make a run and coach
• 11:17
  my butt off versus before it's like, you know, you got to be
• 11:20
  one of the two or four teams standing.
• 11:21
  So you get out of the talent base like literally going
• 11:23
  undefeated. And that was going to happen in
• 11:25
  Ole Miss. Now you can at least give
• 11:26
  yourself a shot at Ole Miss. I mean, I expect them to make
• 11:30
  the playoff this year at this point as that was their first
• 11:32
  loss. So and I'm curious what the new
• 11:34
  coaching carousel looks like. I mean, you've got I mean, the
• 11:37
  big ones open, I think like Florida, Penn State, Arkansas,
• 11:40
  Columbus State. I expect Auburn to open, see if
• 11:44
  LSU opens, I think the next two weeks to determine that.
• 11:46
  You mentioned SIGIT Indiana, like some of these coaches can
• 11:50
  be very comfortable and have a lot more of a chance now than
• 11:53
  they used to. I just we did a podcast a few
• 11:55
  years ago, Daniel were ranked the best jobs in college
• 11:57
  football. And I just wonder if that list
• 12:01
  is it all the same or if we need to redo it this offseason.
• 12:04
  And what does that even mean now in the modern era?
• 12:07
  I think like I'm having to do some rewiring of, OK, what are
• 12:10
  the best jobs? Like, I still think at the end
• 12:13
  of the day, location's going to matter.
• 12:14
  Probably just of like money's not going to fully change.
• 12:18
  Like I want to be able to drive and watch my son play football,
• 12:22
  you know, like that's just even if they're getting all this NIO
• 12:24
  money and they can have a private flight, it's still like
• 12:28
  I can go home and sleep in my bed after watching my son play
• 12:30
  football. I think that's going to matter
• 12:31
  still when everything else becomes more equal.
• 12:33
  So maybe that determines best jobs.
• 12:35
  And then of course, like conference, because access to
• 12:38
  resources and money, like big 10 and SEC are are going to stand
• 12:41
  out. But I'm just, I'm just really
• 12:42
  curious what this next carousel is going to look like.

  And I think it's going to get nuts.
• 12:45
  There's more top 15 jobs that it will come open.
• 12:48
  And I'm really curious what I'm just excited to watch it happen
• 12:52
  because I think there's some, I mean, college football's the
• 12:55
  best because message board culture hopefully just stays a
• 12:57
  part of it. And like, yes, crazy fans who
• 13:01
  want to see at the table who think their opinion should
• 13:04
  matter because they donate money to the school.

  Like, I mean, we were just talking pre show our friend
• 13:08
  David Cobb, you know, it's a Tennessee beat writer when

  Shiano Sunday happened. Like that's part of what makes
• 13:13
  college football great. Are these coaching searches.

  And unfortunately, the flight trackers don't matter anymore

  because they do a lot of these meetings on Zoom or in a in a
• 13:21
  major city where, you know, they fly to New York together and no
• 13:25
  one knows. Yeah, yeah.

  Miss that but love this sport and excited for the next.

  What this what this coaching care.

  So it looks like this year. Daniel, what's your second

  So I mean, along that same line, I, I just was kind of thinking

  about, you know, it's like it's weird to have this kind of

  conversation right now about best jobs or, you know, what the
• 13:47
  coaching carousel looks like, you know, 'cause we're only
• 13:50
  halfway through the season. It just shows you what Great
• 13:53
  Expectations there were for some of these teams.

  And I guess what last straw, a lot of these schools were on
• 13:58
  with their coaches, you know, mention Lane Kiffin, Like, what
• 14:02
  would he, would he leave for this?
• 14:04
  Would he leave for that? I think a lot of these coaches,
• 14:07
  because of how they're getting stretched with how difficult
• 14:10
  it's become, you know, with NIL portal and all that kind of
• 14:14
  stuff, I think that one thing they're not going to, you know,
• 14:17
  let go is maybe that balance of their family.
• 14:20
  So it's kind of why I think Lane would stay.
• 14:23
  But you know, looking at the job landscape, we talked about
• 14:28
  potentially re ranking these in the offseason.
• 14:30
  My question is which job that's already opened or is rumoured to
• 14:35
  open? Is the alpha like who is the top
• 14:39
  of the food chain? Which team, which school, which
• 14:44
  administration is able to say, we're going to go get our guy
• 14:49
  above everybody else. It doesn't matter what you do.
• 14:52
  We can money whip them. They're going to want to come to
• 14:55
  us. Because if money's the same,
• 14:56
  we're the best situation. You know, we're, you know, the,
• 15:00
  the have like you were talking about the have versus the have
• 15:02
  not. And of the potential ones, you
• 15:06
  mentioned LSU. But if LSU was to put their name
• 15:09
  in the hat, I think that all the dominoes are going to fall based
• 15:13
  on what LSU does. And for what it's worth, I think
• 15:16
  Lynn Kiffin would consider LSU more than he would consider
• 15:20
  Florida. My personal opinion.

  But yeah, I think it would be. It would be very fun.

  But you know, something to consider.

  LSU has been known to be like, we swim in the deep waters, you
• 15:32
  know, we go get who we want, you know when they.

  They went and stole the sitting head coach from Notre Dame.

  You know what I mean? Like.

  Crazy. It's crazy that they did that.

  So, you know, that's something you just got to keep that in

  mind. I mean, you know, you got to

  have for LSU specifically got to have the right fit.

  But you know, Auburn, if they were to open up, you know,
• 15:52
  there's a lot to like about Auburn.

  There's a lot of discord in Auburn, Florida, Penn State is,
• 15:58
  you know, it's a really good job.

  It's a really good job and somewhat viewed as the best job
• 16:03
  if you're like a Big 10 guy. But a lot of these guys that are
• 16:06
  already SEC guys, you would think that their dream is to be
• 16:11
  at a major SEC institution rather than, you know, at Penn
• 16:16
  State or wherever. But yeah, I, I'm curious because
• 16:19
  that's what's going to, you're going to start to see like the
• 16:22
  hierarchy kind of take shape and like, you know, that that food
• 16:27
  chain is going to quickly organize itself of all right,
• 16:30
  this guy is going to go hear an interview.

  So he was never our first choice.
• 16:33
  This the other guy was our first choice, you know, and everybody
• 16:36
  will kind of fall in line and I expect some moves here, not
• 16:40
  active sitting head coaches moving on.

  But I expect there to be some big rumblings about, you know,
• 16:46
  maybe some guys that have already been fired going ahead
• 16:49
  and getting on a staff and making sure that they can start
• 16:52
  recruiting, doing things like that because that window will
• 16:55
  open up in December. Yeah, I I mean, I think of the
• 16:59
  possible job was probably LSU, but we'll see what opens up.

  You know, I mean, like my worry is like is, is there a coach
• 17:05
  that until the new era is fixed is just going to call it quits?

  You know what I mean? This like, hey, I'm this has

  been fun. I mean, Ryan Day, Kirby Smart,

  like they kind of have young families.
• 17:15
  I'm just like I that to me would be the like bomb, you know what
• 17:20
  I mean? Like that they could go off.

  OK, Dana, my second question, let's look it's it's it's it's

  week 9. We can start to talk about

  playoff a little bit. What, zero to two loss teams are
• 17:31
  fraudulent playoff contenders. All right, I'm just going to

  list a few quickly. Just give me a crowd or

  contender. All right?

  ACC Miami. If you asked me last week, I
• 17:43
  think they're contender. Yeah, I think I think contender,
• 17:45
  right, Louisville. I haven't even considered
• 17:48
  Louisville. I know what they did to Miami.

  I mean, they're, they're contender.
• 17:53
  Virginia. I think they're a fraud.
• 17:55
  So here, here's the thing. Because this is the and Georgia
• 17:58
  Tech. I have them in my predictions,

  so I think I need to say they're a contender because otherwise
• 18:04
  I'm. Going to, you know, I'm going to
• 18:05
  say fraud for all but Miami because because 1, I don't think
• 18:10
  any of them are making it with no with no more losses the rest
• 18:13
  of the way. And I think the ACC isn't one
• 18:15
  big lead still. Like I think if Georgia Tech
• 18:19
  loses if they go 11 and O definitely lose to Georgia.
• 18:23
  Like I said, they're definitely not making it.
• 18:26
  Like Miami's to be the only team that will could make it as an at
• 18:29
  large because here's the thing, Daniel, they no longer control
• 18:32
  their destiny in the ACC Georgia Tech does, Virginia does.

  And those are the only two teams end of list.

  So Miami to me could get in at 11 and 1.

  I don't think Georgia Texan 11 to 1.

  I don't think that, especially if like if if Georgia Tech goes

  11 and 1 and loses the ACC championship, I don't think an

  11 and 2 Georgia Tech is in because of SMU because.
