- 0:10Good morning everyone. This is Michelle Hughes from Ageless and Timeless. Before I
- 0:15start my podcast today, I just want to spend a minute or so and
- 0:20dedicate today's podcast with a wonderful Debbie Barber from Vitally Skincare Line. But before
- 0:28we go there, I want everyone to know that I have a very had
- 0:33a very sad experience, as everyone did when I learned on October fifteenth that
- 0:38Suzanne Summers passed away and she lost her battle with breast cancer which she's had
- 0:44for twenty three years. But I have to say Suzanne was a real icon
- 0:50to me and I'm sure to a lot of people who are in the functional
- 0:55medicine and regenerative medicine world. So it was so inspirational and had so many
- 1:03challenges that she never really shared with people except her wonderful husband Alan and her
- 1:07family. She was always so brave and so beautiful. I mean, this
- 1:15woman, you would never believe that she was going to turn on the next
- 1:19very next day after she died October sixteenth, she was turning seventy seven.
- 1:25So I just wanted to dedicate this podcast to Suzanne Summers and say how wonderful
- 1:33a person she was, and how sad I am that we've lost her.
- 1:37Okay, so let me move on to a happier subject. Debbie Barber.
- 1:42Debbie Barber and I met through some mutual friends, and she then has introduced
- 1:49me to doctor Suzanne Turner, who is going to be on my podcast in
- 1:53twenty twenty four, and we'll hear a lot more about her, even from
- 1:59Debbie today, because she inspired Debbie on her journey. So just a little
- 2:04bit of background, and then I'm going to let Debbie take over. Debbie
- 2:07is we are of the same vintage. Debbie's in her sixties and she came
- 2:13out of retirement to start this incredible skincare line, which we're going to hear
- 2:17about that is peptide based copper GHKCU, which is a copper peptide that is
- 2:23so important for our skin. And so Debbie's going to tell us how that
- 2:29all happened, how she came on this journey, why did she come out
- 2:31of retirement, who inspired her, and where she is today, and then
- 2:37we'll get into the weeds about the action in care line. So welcome,
- 2:40Debbie, thank you, and I would love to Are you ready for me
- 2:46to talk? I go ahead, I want to add something to the Suzanne
- 2:51Summers comments because she was the person that introduced me to biodentical hormones twenty years
- 2:59ago, five years ago through one of her books. Yes, and that
- 3:06really got it started. I started realizing there were options that I had not
- 3:10considered, nor traditional medicine had really presented to me. And so I really
- 3:17I appreciate you, you know, dedicating this to her, because that was
- 3:22my first I guess start into you know, looking at aging in a different
- 3:28way or looking at help in a different way. Well, so we both
- 3:31share that because I still have her first book. She said she wrote twenty
- 3:36seven books, which is amazing, she was so prolific. But I had
- 3:39her very first books, and I even contacted her undocinologists in Santa Barbara,
- 3:46and she was my undocinologist by just virtually. I never met her. But
- 3:51then she all of a sudden wasn't treating patients anymore. She got so famous
- 3:54with Suzanne, but she was the one both of them, that through that
- 3:59book and through the personal contact that I, like you, realized that there
- 4:05was were other choices. So yeah, we're going back. I think it's
- 4:10maybe even more than twenty years, Jeffy. But whatever it is, it
- 4:13was important. It most likely is. And I think one of the things
- 4:16that just to add to what you said is that she had such a passion
- 4:21and she shared it, that she didn't keep it, you know, keep
- 4:25it to herself to be healthy and beautiful. She shared it, I know,
- 4:30great passion. So I just wanted to add that, well, thank
- 4:32you. And there's one more very important point as long as we're continuing to
- 4:36talk about Suzanne, and we could talk about her for a whole podcast,
- 4:41but absolutely, yeah, but she is an epitome and a role model for
- 4:48the importance of love in your life and how that can keep you buoied and
- 4:56you know, actually supports your health journey. So I put love with a
- 5:00capital l o ve as one of the most important ingredients for a healthy life.
- 5:06And those us have found love and have sustained love in our lives like
- 5:12I have and you have, and there are others that we both know that
- 5:15our good role models, like Susanne, but their their love for each other
- 5:20that even I watched the interview with Alan and Bruce her Son the other day
- 5:26after she passed away, and you know, Alan was truthful. He said
- 5:30look, we had our moments, and you know, he told how they
- 5:33at one point thought they were going to separate, and how the marriage was
- 5:38struggling, and she, she, to her credit, she backed off and
- 5:42said, you know what, if we're having this fight right now, why
- 5:46don't I concede to what you want and you concede to what I want.
- 5:50Let's find a compromise. And I thought that so brilliant. And he said
- 5:55that the other day that you know, this, this really is like a
- 6:00human dynamic that most couples do not know how to practice. They don't know
- 6:04how to compromise. So I would say to anyone that's viewing this podcast today,
- 6:12check out your own relationships and see if you have any bumps in the
- 6:16road that that you know can be maybe smoothed over by approaching it with that
- 6:25kind of an attitude that let me give you concessions and and let's find those
- 6:30common grounds where we can agree. And so okay, So anyway, that's
- 6:36I'll add one to think to that, because I have to credit my husband
- 6:41with this. He's taught me this this was not me, is to always
- 6:46think the best of the other person, give them the benefit of doubt instead
- 6:49of judging too quickly, and he's really taught me. Then I think that
- 6:55goes along with it is thinking the best. So yes, it is another
- 6:59one. And I would add that to Terry's comment, is that whenever you're
- 7:03having a battle, any kind of difference of opinion or even just more more
- 7:10physically, you know, active than that where you just feel like, oh,
- 7:14I just can't take this anymore, you know, and you're feeling frustrated,
- 7:17I always do. What I take is a piece of paper and I
- 7:20draw a line down the middle, and I say, these are all of
- 7:24the things that I love about X, whoever X is, and these are
- 7:28the things that I need. I feel frustrated by, but I recognize that
- 7:32I should never have the right to change another human being. But if we
- 7:38were going to work on things together, these are the things that we should
- 7:42look at in black and white. And then he he I asked him to
- 7:46do the same thing. And then we look in our lists and they're very
- 7:49very graphic because they're right there and you've had to take the time and invest
- 7:54the thought and emotion, which it can be a very emotional the good side,
- 8:01like what is it that I love about him? You know? And
- 8:03all the things that he does, and the more you focus on those good
- 8:07things, the less you feel the negativity. So I would say that's a
- 8:16great exercise for anyone that's trying to find ways to solve a resolve differences in
- 8:24a relationship. So okay, so I want everybody here to know what an
- 8:31amazing woman you are, and I'm so proud to have you on my podcast.
- 8:37I like Lisa. I you know, listening to your your podcast with
- 8:43Lisa Tomati and you know she's She and I are very close and we share
- 8:46That's how I found you, of course, and you know, we just
- 8:52have a lot of the same value. So Lisa is pushing the limits.
- 8:56For anybody that hasn't watched your podcast, I'll give her a little plug.
- 9:00And I was just on her podcast and she's coming onto mine in December.
- 9:05She's had quite the struggle with her mother, so she had to cancel our
- 9:09first pass at a date, so watch out for that one in December fifth,
- 9:15she's going to be and we'll be airing that probably a week later.
- 9:18But anyway, I was listening to you and Lisa, and just like her,
- 9:22you know, I have shied away from having cosmetics or any skincare lines
- 9:30on my podcast because I feel like there's just such a confusion and so many
- 9:35choices, and I mean, all you have to do is go on Amazon
- 9:39and they actually go to me. Every day I get some flat an article
- 9:43that is telling me about the next greatest thing, and whether it's Jennifer Aniston
- 9:48or even Suzanne Summers at her own line, which that I would have believed
- 9:52in because it was all yeah. But there are many many lines that have
- 9:58ingredients that are hidden, and we're going to talk about that today, which
- 10:01I've so applaud you because your your product line viutality is so clean and I
- 10:09know it took a lot of painstaking effort for you to get but anyway,
- 10:13so I have shied away from featuring someone that's behind a cosmetic line, our
- 10:20skincare line, I should say, because if I were going to do it,
- 10:24I always said, it's going to be somebody that has a medical approach,
- 10:30scientific approach to skincare, not just you know, superficial flather this on
- 10:35your skin. So before we get into your journey here, I just want
- 10:41to ask you a question that's been burning in my consciousness about your product line,
- 10:46because as you know, I've been using it now for I think about
- 10:50a month and a half, right, and I do I have to admit
- 10:54that I do later. I mean, I do use it with other lines,
- 10:56other skincare products that I had, So I'm not religious, maybe as
- 11:01some of your customers that do it every single day. But even with the
- 11:05way that I've been doing it, which is, you know, is maybe
- 11:09intermittent, I have seen such an amazing result in my skin, and I
- 11:16know that if I do it every single day, it's even it's going to
- 11:18get even better. So as soon as I use up some of these other
- 11:20products that I had, I will be doing that. But I did my
- 11:24burning question is with skincare, I've always been told by anyone that's very professional
- 11:31that it's one thing to put the product on your skin, it's quite another
- 11:35thing to get it to the dermal layer and really make a difference. And
- 11:39so I wanted you to explain to our viewers how does your product make a
- 11:45difference and how does it get through those epidermis and to the dermis. So
- 11:50could you just answer that question? So I got off my chest absolutely,
- 11:54and I had to work with doctor Susanne Turner's and the chemist to be to
- 12:00totally understand this because, as I shared with you the first time we spoke,
- 12:03I'm not a doctor. I'm a passionate bio you know, I love
- 12:09you know, bioregulators, and that was my start is really before I got
- 12:13into the skincare. Part of it is just, you know, the fascinating
- 12:18things that you can do for your body. So I am learning, and
- 12:22you know, it's been a four year journey and I'm learning so much.
- 12:24And basically, the amino acids, the GHKCU are small amino acids like most
- 12:31of the bioregulators, and they can actually go. Because they're small, they
- 12:37can go into the skin milieu and actually impact change. They also can go
- 12:43they actually work by down regulating up and down regulating genes to set your body
- 12:50and your skin and many many things beyond skin to a healthier state. I
- 12:56mean, it's just fascinating. And this is what they've just governed in the
- 13:00sense I think that was twenty ten. So it has the ability to penetrate
- 13:05through the epidermis into the dermist and make change. So I hope that helps.
- 13:11Yeah, that does help it. So it's basically because of the ghkcu
- 13:15ingredient. Yes, that is the main ingredient in your product life. So
- 13:18that's the answer. That that because absolutely okay. So does it mean that
- 13:24you should also be injecting ghkcu simultaneously to using your product in order to double
- 13:31where me the impact. You can. It's not mandatory or necessary, but
- 13:37you can and I do from time to time. I use the products and
- 13:41have for three years twice a day. I mean, I am very I
- 13:46like to see what the topical can do, but then from time to time
- 13:50I will enhance by injecting ghkcu. So while we can, it can't help,
- 13:56but it's not necessary. That's that's yeah, that's a good explanation because
- 14:01a lot of people are afraid of injections and so they would shy away from
- 14:05having to do so. Many are afraid and think I'm crazy for doing all
- 14:09the injections. Today's podcast is brought to you by Water and Wellness. Water
- 14:15and Wellness is one of the best companies to find purified water. They have
- 14:20a countertop system that I use and I travel with it all the time.

- 14:58But just so everybody knows, and I saw I heard Suzanne Summers say this
- 15:01to the other one of her podcasts interviews that the needles are really really small.
- 15:07They're like tiny, they're considered the diabetic needs that diabetics get used to
- 15:13using obviously for health and very urgent reasons. So to do it for proactive
- 15:20you know, it really is not a big deal. But I understand people's
- 15:24the fears that people have. Some people don't even want to go and have
- 15:28a you know, a thought at the doctor's office when someone else is doing
- 15:33it, and then they don't. They also don't like they have their blood
- 15:35drawn. So yeah, there's a lot of phobias. So we have to
- 15:39respect the individual needs there. Okay, so tell us just you know,
- 15:43in a few minutes, just give us your journey. So people understand how
- 15:48did you go from being an advertising executive to being a skincare in guru.
- 15:54So tell us your story. Absolutely, I'll be quick with this. It
- 15:58is truly my own personal experience I had. I was very fortunate to have
- 16:04doctor Susann Turner Turner as my physician, and she had been working on a
- 16:10lot of my challenges including uh, you know, I had thyroid issues that
- 16:15she was able to work you know, work with. And then you and
- 16:18I've talked about, you know, what we want to do for building muscle
- 16:22and reducing you know, especially fat in the middle. Uh. And through
- 16:27CJC and through Tessa Morland. Uh, I actually really transformed my body.
- 16:34I mean the numbers really changed. I had more muscle, less fat,
- 16:38and I was seeing so many Thomas and alpha something to boost my immune system.
- 16:45Uh. So I was having so many wonderful experiences. So one day
- 16:48I felt comfortable enough, was in her office and I said, okay,
- 16:52doctor Turner, I said, I need for you to give me a recommendation
- 16:56for creepy skin. And I had this crapy skin on my arm. It
- 17:03was and it's not there now. I'm so proud, but it was it
- 17:07was just like you know, crepe paper. And I said, is there
- 17:10anything for crepe? And she said, well, I can tell you what
- 17:14I do and I thought please, and she said g HKCU. She said,
- 17:19you can get it at the Compound pharmacy. I can write you a
- 17:22prescription and you can give it a try. So I'm like, now do
- 17:27it, let's try. So I used it for a couple of months.
- 17:33It was a foam and it you know, it wasn't beautiful to put on.
- 17:37But I if she said, if doctor Turner said do it, I
- 17:41was going to do it. And after about six weeks I could start really
- 17:45seeing a change. I could see a change, some smoothing out and more
- 17:49than I hit even you know, I saw some small lines around my eyes.
- 17:53I mean I did use it twice a day though, and I didn't
- 17:56use other things. I mean I really tried to see well work. And
- 18:00after two months I said, okay, I'm sold. And then my husband
- 18:06is the one. Because it is expensive through the compound for pharmacy, and
- 18:10I started imagining what else could be in this formula, like could we put
- 18:15brown algae that is such a wonderful natural product. Could we add rosemary?
- 18:21Oil into a body cream. You know, we just started dreaming like what
- 18:25would a perfect ingredient be? And we found a pharmacy I mean, I'm
- 18:30sorry, We found a lab that specialized in organic and natural and then we
- 18:37moved it to Canada because we found an even better lab and beautiful water,
- 18:42clean water to you know, using our products. And here three years later,
- 18:48we have this business and we love it. And what I love is
- 18:52so many customers that share and give input and have made our products even better.
- 18:57I mean, I developed the body cream after people were just saying,
- 19:00please, we have to have your moisturizer in a body cream. You know,
- 19:06what can you do for a body cream? So that's really how we
- 19:08got started is seeing a product that worked in and dream how could it then
- 19:14be better? How could we have an I cream not just a foam,
- 19:17you know, just uh uh? And then you know, we expanded to
- 19:22you know, the moisturizer, the serum, the I cream, and then
- 19:26we looked at what do we need to do to make it work better,
- 19:30and that was to excel exfoliate the dead skin cells away. So we developed
- 19:34a cleanser that would help you know, prepare the skin for the copper peptides.
- 19:41So that's that's basically the journey. It's simple, just passion. You
- 19:45know. It's interesting because I one of the questions I had for you is
- 19:48how come you don't have an exfoliator and I don't have the cleanser. I
- 19:52didn't get that in your little parent. Now to send you the cleanser I
- 19:56do. It's it'stic acid, So it is, and it's a gentle lactic
- 20:02acid. I think people over exfoliate or can People can over exfoliate and harm
- 20:07their skin and their skin barrier. So this is a five percent that's a
- 20:11daily use to prepare your skin and you know, remove the dead and damaged
- 20:18skin cells so that the copper peptides can work better. So a lot of
- 20:23people tend to think, oh, I have to use a scrub and and
- 20:27have it be granular, and sometimes that can cause the breakage of the capillaries
- 20:33and the skin. So it depends on how fragile your skin is. But
- 20:37as you get older, your skin gets thinner absolutely or fragile. Well,
- 20:41you know that creepy skin issue I think is one of the most prevalent in
- 20:47anyone over fifty, and particularly if you've been outdoors as an athlete or even
- 20:52just you know, a sun worshiper that I every single day on the internet
- 20:59there, you know, I watch my feed and probably because I'm interested in
- 21:03it, I get a lot of promotions for craperskin. I have not used
- 21:08one of them except yours your body lotion. Well, I take that back.
- 21:14I tried. I tried one on Amazon and it just didn't work.
- 21:17I think it I talked to you about it the other day. I think
- 21:18it had kojic acid or yes, yes, yes, yes, yeah,
- 21:22some of the one. But honestly, I tried it. I used up
- 21:26the whole thing and I didn't see the outcome. So the body cream that
- 21:30you have which people swear by, and I've yeah, I've read the testimonial.
- 21:38So after I spoke with you the other day, I started to put
- 21:42it on with the rosemary oil. And I have some extra rosemary oil in
- 21:47a bottle that I just put the dropper in to add a little extra bouse
- 21:52and I could swear Debbie. After a few tries. After speaking to you
- 21:59a few days ago, I put it on the bruise that I got after
- 22:02I had my biking accident, and it just won't go away. It's apparently
- 22:06something under the skin than the lower part of your lage where it's harder to
- 22:10get it to go away, according to the dermatologist. But I swear it
- 22:14got lighter, so I don't know. I don't want to know. It
- 22:18helps the circulation. One of the things about rosemary oil is it helps circulation,
- 22:23and there are studies that show it even helps with cellulite. I know
- 22:29that's one of the hardest things you know to deal with, but that is
- 22:33a natural way. So that's why we combine that with the GHK, and
- 22:37then there's shade butter and the brown algae. There's so many wonderful ingredients in
- 22:42that. So I would recommend you use it twice a day on that bruise
- 22:47because I think the circulation, you know, having a boost to your circulation
- 22:52and then having the GHK get in there and do its job. So let's
- 22:56go back to the journey. And obviously doctor Turner was one of your great
- 23:03inspirations and mentor, and obviously Terry, your husband, helped you to get
- 23:08on that path because he is an entrepreneurial ill spirit and he saw the opportunity.
- 23:15So together you formed that the team. Was there anyone else that has
- 23:21been along your path that has inspired you to be who you are today.
- 23:26Well, I can go back to my childhood and just say that my grandfather.
- 23:32I remember I was sitting outside with him and he had a knife and
- 23:36he was whittling, you know, on a piece of wood, and he
- 23:40said, Debbie, I just want you to know that I think you can
- 23:41do anything you want to do. I love that. And that was the
- 23:45moment when I thought, I, you know, I had no choice.
- 23:48I had to, you know, do something. I had to work hard,
- 23:52I had to be successful because my grandfather said that over me. So
- 23:56I think it started when I was young, and then, you know,
- 24:00I ended up had a very successful career. I loved it. I raised
- 24:03money for a lot of wonderful nonprofits. In my business, i'man millions of
- 24:07dollars, so it's very gratifying. And then to think, okay, well
- 24:12now I'm going to hang out with grandkids, which has been a joy.
- 24:17But then this opportunity came and it's sixty five. Here you know, now
- 24:22I'm sixty seven, But here I go again. You know. So that's
- 24:27what and doctor believing in it, Well, that's another excuse me. Another
- 24:33example of biological versus chronological aide. So what your birth certificate says is meaningless
- 24:41day based on the life choices that you've made, and it is all you
- 24:45are, the sum total of your choices. So let's just get that out
- 24:48on the table for everybody, because it there's nothing. Nobody's going to watch
- 24:56out for your health except you. You are the producer of your own play,
- 25:00and your health play is the probably it's the most important play you'll ever
- 25:03be in. So if you're badness, you make the you know, you
- 25:07have the lines, You make the choices, and some people make the wrong
- 25:11choices and they look older than their chronological age. But you and I both
- 25:15know that we both look a lot younger than our chronological ages. But where
- 25:22we work at it, it takes discipline, and in some days it's almost
- 25:27overwhelming because there's so many things you do to keep it that way. So
- 25:32you know, whether it's the injections of peptides, the supplements that we take,
- 25:37the exercise that we spend time doing, the mental you know, disciplines
- 25:45that we undertake, a sleep that we embrace because we know how important that
- 25:51is. The stress levels, so you know, if you add it all
- 25:53up, it's it's almost like a full time job. Oh and I forgot
- 25:59about the choices we make in our diet, which is one of the most
- 26:02important. Is that food is your medicine. So all these things, you
- 26:06know, for everyone that's watching my podcast, don't let it overwhelm you just
- 26:12take it. Like like Margaret Thatcher. I didn't had the pleasure to meet
- 26:17her one time in at the English Embassy in DC, and we asked her
- 26:21the question is how did you get ahead? How did you get to where
- 26:25you are as Prime Minister? And she said a very important statement, she
- 26:30said it was one step at a time. He said, you know,
- 26:33when you're on a ladder, if you would you rather be in the bottom
- 26:37right of the ladder, would you rather be at the top. If you're
- 26:40at the top, guess what your dairy are is exposed and you're going to
- 26:44get a lot of abuse and a lot of attack. But would you rather
- 26:48have that with choices you made to get to the top, or would you
- 26:52rather be at the bottom of the ladder where nobody even knows or cares that
- 26:56you're around. So of course everybody's shaking their head. You know that we'd
- 27:00rather have the you know, the the arrows in our back for doing that.
- 27:04So the same thing with our health is some days you might feel like,
- 27:08oh, this is an endless challenge, and you know, and then
- 27:12you go and do your blood work and something else has to get tweaked,
- 27:15and and and then you do your genetic testing and you realize that there are
- 27:19some genes that are going against you, but you can lifestyle can change.
- 27:26You know, you don't have to take what Eugene say as the absolute truth
- 27:30about who you are. You what you can do. As Kashif Khan was
- 27:34on my podcast recently last week actually, and he made a really important statement
- 27:41that I want everybody to you know, hopefully be aware of, even with
- 27:44your with your beautiful product line, is that those genetics that you're aligned you
- 27:51said, influences genetics. Well that's exactly what Kashi said. He said,
- 27:56your genetics are like a blueprint. However, you can tweet those genetics with
- 28:02your lifestyle choices. So don't accept that as your destiny. Just know that
- 28:07maybe you have a propensity to you know, to get Alzheimer's. Let's say
- 28:12that's a bad one because it's so severe, but let's just say you have
- 28:15that APO what is it, E or four gene and you have a propensity.
- 28:21But eighty percent people with that gene get Alzheimer's. So what happens to
- 28:26the twenty percent that don't, Well, guess what they choose a lifestyle that
- 28:32fights off the gene. So, without all being said long winded, what
- 28:37are the genetics that your product line influence? That you said earlier as far
- 28:44as genetics up and down regulates, Yeah, you said the genetics that the
- 28:48product line can influence it. Well, it's sense, there's so's there's over
- 28:52fifty that it goes up and down like COPD. Long, there's things for
- 28:59the law. I mean, GHKCU they discovered this in twenty ten is really
- 29:04important because it sets the genes. I mean, it does things for the
- 29:10skin, but it also helps diabetes. I mean many many things. We
- 29:15can do a whole podcast on the up and down regulating the gest and when
- 29:18doctor Turner is on your podcast, she will be able to talk about that
- 29:25for the whole I mean she she's wanted to talk to me about that,
- 29:27and I think you would enjoy hearing her share that. Right if she an
- 29:33advisor to your Skincare Life. She is our medical advisor. Okay, good,
- 29:37great, And we're very fortunate. We could not have done this without
- 29:41her support because I remember early on when you know, she came over and
- 29:47we met and we talked about what we wanted to do, and at the
- 29:49end, I said, do you think we're crazy? And she said no,
- 29:55and you know, I said, you think people will embrace this?
- 29:59That she was so supportive, And of course she has advised and helped and
- 30:04counseled the from the very beginning, and she's now part of our company and
- 30:10we're so blessed. I mean, we are very fortunate to have her.
- 30:15So let's go through the product line and understand what the ingredients are, because
- 30:18actually, I congratulate you for the simplicity of the and the fact that there
- 30:26there's no filler, there's nothing, there's nothing that isn't essential. However,
- 30:32I'm sure there were choices that you made of ingredients that could have been in
- 30:36there that are still very beneficial. So while you're talking about the ingredients,
- 30:40I also want you to, at parallel to that, talk about the ones
- 30:44you rejected but that you still think are important for people to utilize, even
- 30:48if they do it separately, like like ex absolutely, well, I'll start.
- 30:56I'll just show you this, Sarah. And the reason I'm showing this
- 31:02the color. I don't know if you can see can say that, isn't
- 31:07it beautiful? And it absorbs so well, and it's this is the three
- 31:14percent. We have two versions. We have a three percent which is the
- 31:18super strong and as strong as you'll find out in the market. Many of
- 31:23the products you see, like in Sophora, and they're all fine, I'm
- 31:26not seeing anything, but when you look, they have either a half a
- 31:30percent or one percent of the g hkcu. Ours has two percent or three
- 31:36percent in the serum. So we want you know, we invested because it
- 31:41is not a cheap product, but we invested because we wanted it to do
- 31:45something. And then one of the things that we added to this, it's
- 31:51very simple. The ingredients in this. This is a very simple product.
- 31:55We have the brown allergy, the giant sea kelp which helps text your skin.
- 32:00It has super antioxidants. And what I love to think about is one
- 32:06of the reasons that Seek Help works so well, the brown algae is it
- 32:09has been out in the environment protecting itself, you know, out in the
- 32:15ocean, and it has developed this way of doing that that we can achieve
- 32:20by adding it to our formula. So I love the brown algae. It
- 32:23has hiuronic acid for moisture, and we know how uranic acid it holds more
- 32:29than a thousand times it's weight in fluids, So that is for you know,
- 32:35adding hydration. And I have to look because we have so many omn
- 32:39alatin, which is another natural product for soothing, is in there. So
- 32:45we have really built the product with natural ingredients and shied away from things that
- 32:52could do harm. Because there's some wonderful products that I see and I pick
- 32:55up and look at and then I go, you lost me here because all
- 33:00these things that are helping my skin, now you've added something you know that
- 33:05is going to cause harm and actually disrupt hormones, et cetera. So we've
- 33:08really tried to not only help but avoid harming the skin. Well, okay,
- 33:15So two that come to mind that I always think are so important that
- 33:19I you know, I read about a zinc and obviously vitamin C we talked
- 33:22about but we'll get to that in the moment. And niocinomide. Yes,
- 33:27you have to make a choice to not include zinc niacinamide. And I know
- 33:31vitamin C you never want to put together when you're correct, So I think
- 33:37that people who want to continue to use their C would make sure they do
- 33:40it apart at least thirty minutes before or after you are signed. I think
- 33:45that's very important because there's retin all which is also when you think of the
- 33:50top ingredients, you know you think of vitamin C and retinoll definitely in there.
- 33:55How you wonic acid is one of those that one of the reasons we
- 33:59were able to use it is because it works so well and blends so well
- 34:02in our formula. So we have huronic acid in both the serum and the
- 34:07moisturizer. We have a little niosimide in the body cream so well to include
- 34:14it in the body cream through the formulation. But vitamin C, I'm still
- 34:20exploring vitamin C. There's other forms of vitamin C that are all based versus
- 34:27the water based that might work with copper peptides, but I don't in my
- 34:34studies and research, I don't think it's as right now. I don't think
- 34:37they've proven it's as effective as elosorbic acid. So I just say people use
- 34:45the one they love and just separate at thirty minutes and use the I forget
- 34:51to ask you. So let's start with the if we're going to do the
- 34:54routine, Yes, start with the cleanser first, right, so, and
- 35:00yes, absolutely, is that twice a day, you know, vera,
- 35:04thank you for asking that. That's very importal. It's a once a day
- 35:07only at night. And that is because the lactic acid, it's even though
- 35:12it's five percent, you would not want to use it twice a day.
- 35:15And I think people over wash their face. I think in the morning you
- 35:19can use missile or water and just clean your face. And that's my practice
- 35:24because I realized, as you stated earlier, our skin gets dryer as we
- 35:30age, and it just never had dry skin. In fact, it's a
- 35:35new thing. And so I realized that in my research, we overwash our
- 35:39face and oxfoliate maybe exfoliate, you know, physically twice a week, but
- 35:46not every day. But the lactic acid once a day at night, and
- 35:51then we use the serum, and then after the serum the moisturizer. And
- 35:55I don't know if you can see the moisturizer. What's so cool is it's
- 35:59in this pump so comes out the amount. And one of the things I
- 36:04like to tell people, and it's hard because we move too fast and we
- 36:07do want a simple routine. If you can let one product absorb a minute,
- 36:12like let the speerum absorb the moisturizer, and then the I cream,
- 36:16which is also people love this I cream. I think you can see how
- 36:21blue and that's also they're all blue. They're blue because they have enough ghkcu
- 36:29and this has the I cream has four peptides and one of them is diepeptide
- 36:34too, and it helps with dark circles and puffiness. And I know this
- 36:38works because recently I left my I cream, which I never do, and
- 36:44I noticed the next morning and I'd stayed up later than usual, but I
- 36:46had this puffiness and I was so disappointed. And then the person I was
- 36:52staying with said, I have your I Cream. I used it and like,
- 36:57in twenty or thirty minutes, it just likes you know that line that
- 37:00comes when it's puffy. It was smoothed out. So other than the cleanser,
- 37:07these can all be used in the morning and at night. Absolutely everyone
- 37:12can be And then the body cream you were talking. People are just like
- 37:16this body cream. I have people that buy over two or three at a
- 37:20time because they say, I never want to run out of it. It
- 37:22has the shade butter and mary and the brown algae. Just again, wonderful
- 37:29ingredients and it feels great on your skin. Yeah, and the cleanser.
- 37:34Send me another body cream, and of course, you know, tell me
- 37:37how much I owe you, because I don't want absolutely. Lisa. Actually,
- 37:42Lisa, you were talking about Lisa earlier. She had some and then
- 37:45she said, you have to send some for mom. You know her mother
- 37:47has issues as her life. Yeah, saving her mom, and so she
- 37:53loves our body cream. Another thing that I think your audience would be interested
- 38:00in, we were talking about retinol, and I'm glad you brought that up.
- 38:02Many people cannot use retinal because it's too irritating. They have roseesia or
- 38:09certain things that you know, cause it to be too irritating, whereas many
- 38:15people, you know, there's people that can use it and use it all
- 38:16their lives, and I think that's wonderful. But we wanted to we we
- 38:22did research. We said, well let's see what is natural, what is
- 38:24possible? And Bakouchel all is this wonderful alternative. And I'm happy to send
- 38:31you a sample of this as well. How do you spell that it's it's
- 38:37b A k U c h I O L. But you'll have to research
- 38:43it because it's it's growing in popularity because it's a natural retinol. I would
- 38:49not it's not as strong as retinee, but it works like the over the
- 38:53counter retinoal. And what I love about it is you can use it with
- 38:58the copper peptides. So I use this because this helps your skin cell turnover
- 39:05and also with pigmentation. So because I can't use retinol either, it's and
- 39:12this isn't spoiling all. I will definitely send you a sample. And how
- 39:17when do you layer that on? You put? You use that I use
- 39:21well, I recommend starting at night when you start any you know, new
- 39:24product that's a cell turnover and use it after the serum and you put moisturizer
- 39:31on top. Again, just let things soak in if you can, you
- 39:35know, do one and then go, you know, get ready for bed.
- 39:37Then add something else that's ideal that that gets the most out of your
- 39:42project. Before I do anything, I always pray my face with you know
- 39:46some one of those ones that are you know, have higher line in it,
- 39:51but I guess I don't need to really do that, but I like
- 39:53to have my face a little bit moist so that the absorption is bad or
- 40:00is that okay to do it? That one, that's okay. And it's
- 40:02especially wonderful too when you use the body cream. If you can use it
- 40:07after your bath or shofer and not completely dry off, it's even better if
- 40:15you can do that. Plus the pores are open, so I'm glad you
- 40:17brought that up. And then the last, the last little ingredient, and
- 40:22this is one of the most protective things you can do for your skin bearer.
- 40:28This is we call its hydration Boost, but it's made with organic squaling
- 40:32oil and that is the plant based from olive. And people are loving this
- 40:39because you can use it. I use it as a primer. I use
- 40:43it and you can put it. It's so light, it does not break
- 40:45out, it does not clog pores, and it's the best primer I've ever
- 40:50used. But I know it's also protecting my skin barrier. So that's it.
- 40:54It's simple. Those that's all the products. Don't you have feat bucksthorn
- 40:59And yes, we have that in both the moisture. Thank you for asking.
- 41:02We have that in the moisturizer and in the body cream. Us tell
- 41:07us about seabuck thoring because a lot of people don't know some of these ingredients.
- 41:10They don't know, well, brown algae, you know, is seaweed.
- 41:14But but maybe just go through and some of the ones that people may
- 41:17not be familiar with. Just give us a little bit more explanation so people
- 41:22know what they're using. Well, it's calming and it protects. Again,
- 41:25it's another antioxidant and it's calming. Sea seabuck thorn can calm your skin.
- 41:31So that's one of the reasons we tried to mix things that would do that.
- 41:37It's a it's a great ingredient. See, I have to look,
- 41:40we have let me see what's another wonderful one. Well, just so people
- 41:45know, so squaling comes from olive. Squaling comes from olive. And the
- 41:51moisturizer has nisimide. I didn't I said it was in the body cream.
- 41:54It's also in the moisturizer. It's not a high amount, but included it.
- 42:00So what about the zink the zinc that I mentioned earlier, is that
- 42:05something that you would had you had to reject and you would have liked to
- 42:08have it, but it was just adding more ingredients or it wasn't in the
- 42:14top even though I think zke is wonderful, and we had to narrow down
- 42:17because we wanted it manageable so that we could have enough so that we could
- 42:22have them working the way they needed to. Like I will see ingredients one
- 42:27hundred ingredients in one product. And well, the reason I asked about zinc
- 42:31though, is because zinc and copper go hand in hand. Would they say,
- 42:36when you take, you know, a supplement, make sure that you're
- 42:37not taking too much of one and too little of another. So that's why
- 42:42I asked if zinc was something that you had to uh examine as a possibility,
- 42:47but just was adding too many product ingredients so it wasn't It wasn't on
- 42:52the priority list. So that's what you did not get. Well, just
- 42:55everybody recognized that in your multi vitamin, you know, zinc and copper are
- 43:00usually balanced, so you're okay. I tend to take zinc extra for its
- 43:08you know, immune system support and your skin of course, so I absolutely
- 43:15as a capsule, and I often have wondered am I taking more too much
- 43:19zinc and not enough copper. But then I inject the g HKCU, so
- 43:22I'm getting the copper peptide. So I think it's okay. But here again,
- 43:28I'm sure people are sitting there scratching their head and saying, oh,
- 43:30Michelle, how can you be doing all this stuff? It's so complicated,
- 43:34But it really isn't when you get it down to a routine. So absolutely
- 43:38so, what else is on the drawing board? Well, one of the
- 43:43things that you and I talked about earlier, and I'm very something that I
- 43:46feel very strongly, but I haven't. We're not there yet. We have
- 43:51two products. One is I want and I'm not sure we can call it
- 43:54a sunscreen because of FDA. You know, it's a lot more complicated,
- 44:01but a protector and it would include the algae GHK. One of the things
- 44:06that's so beautiful about this product. It protects not only your skin, but
- 44:10it protects your DNA from the free radicals. I mean that's really important because
- 44:16that is what ages you, causes the glycation of the skin. It causes
- 44:21a lot of problems. So, and we we were talking about when we
- 44:25spoke, L asked about you know, son and how important son is for
- 44:30your vitamin D three, which I do agree. But yet too much sun
- 44:37causes the majority of the problems regarding your skin. I mean eighty to ninety
- 44:42percent of the problems originate with too much sun. So and you'd said that
- 44:47many recommend you go out in the middle of the day and get son.
- 44:52And doctor Turner what she had shared with me, because when I started realizing
- 44:59the c was about not taking the time, you know, both for my
- 45:04hands and my arms. I'd be really good about my face and then hands.
- 45:07I want to talk about hands. Yeah, she said that she uses
- 45:13this our serum. She uses the batalite serum in the morning, and she
- 45:16if she goes to the beach, if she goes out before nine, she
- 45:21will do that. Now she uses Milana tan also, So let me say,
- 45:24you knows she does so many things that help her body. But then
- 45:30and so she'll get a little bit of the D three early in the morning,
- 45:35but then after nine o'clock. Based on my understanding of her experience,
- 45:38like when she goes to Florida, then she puts on the sunscreen. But
- 45:45what is melana tan. It is a it's another peptide that actually helps with
- 45:52the pigmentation. It will give you a suntan oh I have her. Yeah,
- 45:59and you need to really study at their side effects. You know,
- 46:01it can make you very nauseated, and you know there's different side effects.
- 46:06But the other side that the reason I have not tried that I'm very fair
- 46:12is I don't want any dark spots that I have to become darker. And
- 46:15that's one of the side effects is if you have a little mole or a
- 46:19little dark spot, it will get darker along with your skin. But many
- 46:22people love it's it's a safe sun tent. Yeah. I wouldn't want to
- 46:28do that though, because I have very dark I have Mediterranean skin, but
- 46:31I also have as you and I talked the other day about the brown spots,
- 46:36and so spend a moment on brown spots because I hear you know,
- 46:39I see so many internet articles about how to remove brown spots, and that
- 46:45is another dead end with products making promises and don't deliver. So what do
- 46:52you recommend for people? I think the retine is probably one of the best,
- 46:57and then the bikouchel. I have definitely baited two places in a place
- 47:01I've been using because again it's not overnight. This is not use it for
- 47:07a week and all of a sudden it's It's truly these products work at the
- 47:10cellular level, so you have to embrace them and be patient and they will
- 47:16work. And you can read our reviews of people. In fact, one
- 47:21of the I love it. Recently, we've had several reviews from men who
- 47:25you know, they go, Okay, I'm fifty years old. I have
- 47:28never thought of, you know, getting involved with a skincare brand and certainly
- 47:34not writing a review. But I am seeing smoother skin and so it makes
- 47:37me feel so you know, excited that forty percent of our customers are men.
- 47:44Now, wow, yes, because men typically don't pay attention to their
- 47:50skin until it's too late, we're surprised but they do. Yeah, I
- 47:53agree, maybe women are having an influence on men. So what about let's
- 48:01talk about hormones for a moment, because obviously your skin is affected by your
- 48:06hormones. So you know, we're not medical doctors, but we both know
- 48:10from practice how important. I always say, your hormones are your super highway.
- 48:15So how do you tell people without you know, giving them medical advice?
- 48:20Because I always tell people we are not giving you medical advice. We're
- 48:23only giving you suggestions, but you always have to talk with your medical provider
- 48:29before you do any program. So how do you integrate your knowledge of hormone
- 48:36balancing with your results from using vatality. Well, I think that comes.
- 48:42It starts with blood work. So this really is I don't talk about it
- 48:46a lot. I know about it from my own personal experience. And when
- 48:51we have customers that would that have something that shows up that I think this
- 48:55could be hormone related, I will write doctor Turner and she will suggest you
- 49:02know, some options. Again, not in the way we The way she
- 49:06says is, well, if it were my patient, this is what I
- 49:08would say. But you have to really see the blood. You have to
- 49:13do blood work to really have and that's that has been my experience. You're
- 49:17so right. And Jake Campbell was on the other ric or so ago,
- 49:22and he and I talked about this subject and he the first thing he said,
- 49:28well he's the testosterone king, right, But yes, the first thing
- 49:31he said, get your blood work done. You have to know your baselines.
- 49:37You cannot take this is not guess work. And you have to know
- 49:40where you are. You are you know, uh, standing in terms of
- 49:46your hormone challenges, Like you mentioned your thyroid, well, your thyroid would
- 49:52have an enormous effect if it's hyperthyroid, or either way hyper or hype both
- 49:59would an enormous effect on your skin because your metabolism off and when your metal.
- 50:05Everybody should keep in mind that all health begins in themselves. This is
- 50:08one of the most amazing discoveries that modern medicine has had in the last few
- 50:15years. And so if you think of that and you think about products that
- 50:19don't ever get to the cellular the level, then you're really just wasting your
- 50:23money. But you have to know what your blood results are that truthfully,
- 50:31that is only a prick in time, like they take your blood and that's
- 50:36what you're doing at that moment. So like the example of cortisol, you
- 50:39know, in the morning, your court is all different than at night because
- 50:43you've had a day of stress. So you know, if you take your
- 50:46blood your lab in the morning, of course, if you're measuring cortisol,
- 50:51it's going to be different than it would be later in the day. Those
- 50:53are, you know, examples where blood work is maybe a little inefficient,
- 50:58but lot of tests, the salava tests though and I did that to really
- 51:01understand that you have to do every two hours or four hours, and you
- 51:06even have to in the middle of the night get up and do the salava
- 51:10so that you can see, you know, things like the cortisol level,
- 51:15and so yourine test too, the urine test, and and you're the thyroids,
- 51:20you're so right, and and those things can cause dry skin. Hormon
- 51:23I mean, hormones can affect skin. But I think you have to go
- 51:27deeper and find out what's going on doctor Turner. I thought I had my
- 51:30thyroid under control because I had been going to a specialist, and then when
- 51:35I go to her, we ended up doing blood work like four times,
- 51:39you know, within six months, and she said, oh, I'm sorry,
- 51:42but I'm just not happy with your T three and and once she balanced
- 51:47it, now for three years I have felt so much better. But she
- 51:52took time to just tweak it, and she would, you know, she
- 51:57she modified it three or four times, apologetically. And yet at the end,
- 52:00I'm like, this is wonderful. I feel good. Thank you.
- 52:05It is a trial and error, and you know, the body is variable.
- 52:07It can change depending on what's going on in your in your life,
- 52:12and your thyroid is probably one of the most underdiagnosed hormones that we have.
- 52:19They oftentimes in the blood it'll come out normal, but it really isn't.
- 52:22So I've mentioned a few times on prior podcasts that the Barn's method is the
- 52:29method where you take a thermometer and you put it under your arm before you
- 52:31move in the morning. Just put it under your arm for maybe three or
- 52:36four days in a row, and your body temperature should be whatever that is,
- 52:40ninety six point five or some I'm not sure what the ninety eight point
- 52:45six. Yeah, yeah, and that's what I meant, ninety eight point
- 52:46six. So when if you come out lower, then you know four days
- 52:52in a row, you're you're knowing that your thyroid is hyperthyroid and you need
- 52:57to do something to balance that. So that's a better form of It's kind
- 53:00of an old fashioned way to modern medicine. May shun that, but that
- 53:05is actually one tried and true way to test your own thighway before you go
- 53:09and do the or get a misdiagnosis that it's normal from uh, from some
- 53:15blood work. I just got post. I mean, I just got a
