Transcript
- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? What's your least favorite scary
- 0:16movie, the podcast, where we talked about the good, the bad,
- 0:19the ugly, and the Absurd, and all of our favorite Emily's?
- 0:22Favorite scary movie. Is because we believe every
- 0:24horror movie rightfully, has its fanbase, even if we don't always
- 0:27get it. My name is Travis.
- 0:29My name is Jessie. And today, we're talking Jack
- 0:32Frost because we had our very first patreons of Michael
- 0:37Keaton. Yeah.
- 0:38Okay. We're not talking about that
- 0:40Jack Frost. But we are talking about 1997's
- 0:43Jack Frost thanks to our patrons who voted for it.
- 0:47Yay, our first ever Patron, voted episode Round of Applause.
- 0:52Very exciting. I'm very happy to talk about
- 0:54this. I've been wanting to talk about
- 0:55this movie for a long time now. Yeah, and it's time, it's time
- 0:59to do so. But before we do that, any
- 1:02announcements, Jesse, none. Okay, no one else was.
- 1:08Okay, let's go to the polls poll results.
- 1:10Last week's movie, we had Halloween kills, We want to know
- 1:14who out of all the Legacy characters deserve more screen
- 1:17time, 25 percent voted for bracket on Instagram, 29 percent
- 1:22voted for Lindsay, 25 percent, voted for Mary, and Chambers and
- 1:2521 percent voted for Lonnie. Okay?
- 1:28Twitter 17, percent bracket 50 Lindsay, 17 Marion Chambers 16
- 1:34Lonnie. Okay, I wanted to do Lindsay.
- 1:39I didn't want to do NZ. I wanted Lindsay.
- 1:42I like creepy Bob and Linda from the 1978 creepy Bob and Linda.
- 1:48Yeah like Google inside and oh God.
- 1:51Yeah. Oh my God, they did talk about
- 1:53her, didn't they? Yeah, you're right girls.
- 1:56No, I wanted more out of Lindsay because I feel like they had a
- 1:59whole thing built up for her and nothing ever actually came from
- 2:03it. So I feel like they had an
- 2:06opportunity that they missed an. Okay.
- 2:08Well thank you. I really didn't care that much
- 2:11about the Legacy character. It if like I said last week, I
- 2:15would have been perfectly happy if it was just a wink and a nod
- 2:19to the audience, they come here to the bar on Halloween every
- 2:23year. Get a drink together.
- 2:24That would have been perfectly. Okay with me?
- 2:27Yeah, I mean, if they're going to do it at all, do something
- 2:31with it and if not, then just see that but they didn't.
- 2:35We also had a ride in from Tucker.
- 2:37He said he wanted more Lori that so I think that that's
- 2:40appropriate because She's not really in that movie and she
- 2:45gets the worst. I'll go see a movie.
- 2:47Yeah, well yeah, yeah, yeah, she does.
- 2:50Okay, she does. Yeah.
- 2:52Okay, that's it for the polls. So, let's talk about the movie.
- 2:56Okay. All right, so we're talking
- 2:58about Jack Frost here. This movie came out, November
- 3:0118th 1997 did not have a wide release.
- 3:05I'm pretty sure this is a straight to VHS movie, there's a
- 3:09lot. Well, here's the thing.
- 3:10Snow generally doesn't get a wide.
- 3:12You see, you know, only certain areas of the country gets no.
- 3:15Hmm. So this maybe you can only go
- 3:18where the snow is. That's it.
- 3:20Yeah, it's only on the shelves, unlock the movie by having your
- 3:26first snowfall of the Season. Yeah, it just magically appears
- 3:29on the shelf and the video store.
- 3:31Yeah, this thing lives on the shelves, by the way, everybody
- 3:35remembers the Box off. Not the box office.
- 3:38The box cover. I remember just coaster in the
- 3:42can Vignette store window. I remember seeing this in the
- 3:49movie rental places, it was called movies to go and they
- 3:52always had still open. No, I thought we rented from
- 3:56them, like, while we were in college, we did.
- 3:59Okay. Did it was open?
- 4:00Then it closed like sometime between now and then it's been
- 4:04closed for a while and out of college for a long fucking time.
- 4:07Yeah. Oh my God.
- 4:08It's been a bit. Oh my God.
- 4:09So, but yeah, that thing was on there.
- 4:13I remember seeing that cover, I remember, I don't know if this
- 4:17is accurate or not, but I feel like I had like a holographic
- 4:20cover where you could see one side where it's a normal
- 4:22Snowman, and then you go to the other side and it's got the
- 4:25skinny face. Maybe you were just seeing the
- 4:27Michael Keaton posters, they had annexed.
- 4:30Yeah, that's probably why. So, yeah, no wide release for
- 4:38this thing. We watched it on our vinegar
- 4:41syndrome Blu-ray. I like it.
- 4:44Oh yeah. That's that's one that I think
- 4:47is but been phased out by them. It's been like a new people or
- 4:52yeah. Cuz we bought one of their leg
- 4:54because they brought most of the remaining stock with them to the
- 4:58Jamboree over this, it's still out there.
- 5:00You can get it on Amazon for a decent price.
- 5:02Still, because I saw it on there today, but yeah, no, I it's a
- 5:08good release. I like it as of today.
- 5:12December 12, 2002 a to you can stream this on to be Pluto,
- 5:17peacock, Voodoo. There's a lot more options out
- 5:20there, Jesse put it out there on our social media, so I don't
- 5:24have every single one of them. I don't have enough room to
- 5:26write at all, but you can watch this for free, or on paid
- 5:29services. I don't care.
- 5:30You can do it. There's like a bajillion places
- 5:32to watch it. Yeah, you can rinse it on
- 5:36YouTube or Google. So this is written by Jeremy
- 5:41page and Michael Cooney directed by Michael Cooney, we have Music
- 5:45by Chris Anderson and Carl shirts and special effects
- 5:49makeup. There's quite the team on this
- 5:51thing. Oh, boy, I think you were going
- 5:53to be kind of surprised by some of this.
- 5:54So first off we have Michael Deke who is responsible for like
- 6:00the Snowman mostly. Okay.
- 6:02Next up. We have Melanie took her.
- 6:04She was like the supervisor something.
- 6:07I don't know. She had like, A lead role in the
- 6:08effects, okay? Also one person on the list here
- 6:12who I was very shocked to see screaming, mad George really?
- 6:17Yeah, he actually did some of the effects on this and I bet he
- 6:21was like, you know what, the snow made needs icicle fangs.
- 6:25I think what he did was the scene where he melts at first,
- 6:30when this stuff spills on him from the wreck, okay?
- 6:33That gets really goopy and it's really well done actually.
- 6:37Yeah, that's Probably actually the best effects of the movie
- 6:39that has screaming, man. George written all over.
- 6:41Yeah. It's like almost a precursor to
- 6:43the shunting. Well, you know after this one
- 6:45thing is like here I've got some leftover shunts, it's a it's a
- 6:48more family-friendly shunting. Yeah.
- 6:51Although I guess you could make the argument that all shunting
- 6:54is family friendly. Yeah you can you can definitely
- 6:57make that argument in a sense. Okay, so the cast we have Scott
- 7:03McDonald playing Jack Frost. Chris allport place.
- 7:07Sam that guy, by the way. So he was in the sequel and
- 7:13believe it or not, there was going to be a third Jack Frost
- 7:15movie. However, ironically, he died in
- 7:19an avalanche. So snow ended up actually
- 7:21killing him. That's really fucked up.
- 7:23It is kind of fucked up and I'm sorry to bring everybody down.
- 7:27So, let's step it on over to Steven Mendel, who plays Agent
- 7:31manners, Rob will bail plays Stone, who I think is his
- 7:36partner. No, he's just Scientists.
- 7:38He's okay. But he's fucking nerd.
- 7:40Travis? What he pretends to be like an
- 7:42FBI guy too. Well, he fooled me, even when
- 7:46I'm watching a movie. The sheriff just assumed he was
- 7:49an agent and nobody corrected them.
- 7:51I was very much the sheriff in this movie.
- 7:53I guy, we as the audience, though, saw the scene where
- 7:57manners was questioning Stone. See, this is what I'm talking
- 8:00about. I was like I saw that and it
- 8:02just went over my head like no shit.
- 8:04This is actually a part of the FBI.
- 8:07I'm like Sam Eileen Seeley plays and Zack Edgington plays Ryan.
- 8:16Wait, is this me? Is her name an?
- 8:17Yes, I wrote Anna all throughout my nose.
- 8:21Maybe this is wrong. I don't think so, but maybe they
- 8:27set a wrong in the movie the entire time and nobody corrected
- 8:29them. I think they said her name wants
- 8:31though. So they, I don't really that's
- 8:33the wife, right? Yeah, yeah.
- 8:35I don't think that they really said.
- 8:37And Shannon Elizabeth in her first movie role.
- 8:41Guess what? People she looks for a bathroom.
- 8:45Yes, she does signs of that. There was a whole thing going on
- 8:48for her here. She plays Jill.
- 8:52Alright, that's it for the cast. Okay.
- 8:54So bug, Ted, yes, buggy. Buggy buggy test.
- 9:00I don't have one but it's how, you know?
- 9:03Well, this is the thing. People love to talk about how
- 9:06cheap this movie was but they Don't want to give the number.
- 9:09I've got so much stuff here about like the budget in the
- 9:12background. Nobody wants to actually give an
- 9:15actual number but I've got clues that we can kind of guess.
- 9:20Okay, it's well under a million. Oh yeah, I would guess it's
- 9:23under 100,000. I would guess to will get quiz
- 9:27here in a second. Okay.
- 9:28Okay but first off obviously no box office this straight to VHS
- 9:34and no gross. So IMDb though we do have Okay,
- 9:39so I'm going to guess I'm going to have you guess like I said
- 9:42lower or higher or just in the mid okay because I don't have
- 9:47anything here like budget or anything I guess.
- 9:49I guess it. Whoa score.
- 9:50High score mid score. Oh you want me to guess the IMDb
- 9:54school? Yeah I want you to guess I want
- 9:56you to guess if it's of low mid or high.
- 9:58Why am I guessing? Because I just said we don't
- 10:00have any of the budget and stuff.
- 10:02I don't have information to go there.
- 10:03Never guess the budget won't know but we guess budget or bug
- 10:07Ted Already guessed that. All right fine.
- 10:10Wow it's 4.6 IMDb. Okay. 4.6 is that lower mid 4.6?
- 10:17Yeah I put that on right around the okay.
- 10:21Yeah because it's like if you round up from that that's five
- 10:23which is perfectly mid out of Tim.
- 10:29All right, three movies that came out in 1997 that I
- 10:34struggled to find a theme for. But you know what?
- 10:37But I think one of the, I looked over at one point when you're on
- 10:40your phone and I saw, I think it's probably this one because I
- 10:43saw you looking like shit. The theme is fun.
- 10:49I'm going to make some stretches here.
- 10:51But we're having fun, Jack Frost, and all three of these
- 10:54movies here. What was the movie that you saw
- 10:57Cube? Yes, that's the first movie
- 10:59here. That's fun because we like to
- 11:01play with shapes. And they just make good toys
- 11:06cubes. If you get an ice cube, it can
- 11:08be a good toy. I would say that the folks that
- 11:11were trapped in the cube would argue with you on puzzle.
- 11:14Some of those points. It's a puzzle, they're having
- 11:16fun. It's interactive.
- 11:18Are they having fun? Yeah, one guys, one guy's
- 11:23definitely having fun in it. He's just doesn't want to admit
- 11:26it. He's like, oh, man, this sucks
- 11:27guy's right, right, man. I don't want to see that that
- 11:31skit. Where, Where it's like people
- 11:33Trapped In Like A seesaw trap or cube situation or something like
- 11:37that, and there's one guy that's just like, so excited about it.
- 11:41But yes he is playing it cool cause like my men, shoot it,
- 11:45like, Ron Swanson getting really excited about scavenger hunts to
- 11:49run Swanson would be into being in a queue, like they say he
- 11:54would be giddy about that. Okay, that came out December
- 11:5810th, 1997, budgets of 360. Thousand.
- 12:03Wow, Canadian dollars. So if you take US Dollars,
- 12:08that's even worried. I was trying to figure out how
- 12:10to say, wow and Canadian. I think it's just like, it's
- 12:14pretty good mate. You kind of sound like you're
- 12:16doing like Canadian Australian. I think they say made up there
- 12:22there. My, they just talk like most
- 12:24people from North America. Steve, let us know.
- 12:27We need a Canadian correspondent.
- 12:30Nothing gross. 85,000 and it has an IMDb of 7.2.
- 12:36Okay. Why people like that movie?
- 12:38We've watched it like one time, it's good.
- 12:41Yeah, I liked it. I think it was pretty inventive
- 12:43with how it made its budget work for it.
- 12:46So yeah. Like that's you like a, you
- 12:48movie because it's not all like single location in a cube the
- 12:52entire time. Yes.
- 12:53All right, puzzles and whatnot, next movie.
- 12:57Try and tell me that this movie isn't Fun.
- 12:59Okay, Anaconda, God damn it. I hate that.
- 13:04You hate Anaconda. Yes, we've, we've talked about
- 13:07this, have we? Yes the show.
- 13:09Yes, I don't recall. I don't I don't know if it was
- 13:12on our show is definitely with Steve.
- 13:15I think it was with Steve when we were talking about, yeah,
- 13:17this is we we were talking with either we are guessing on
- 13:20somebody sure they were guessing with us and we were talking
- 13:22about anaconda and I fucking hate that movie.
- 13:25It should be a lot more fun than it is.
- 13:28Seventh circle of film. Yep.
- 13:31Because they were about to cover the Anaconda movies and they
- 13:34watched every single one of them for the podcast.
- 13:37Anyways, that came out, April 11th, 1997 with a budget, 400
- 13:44445 million. Mostly Jayla don't come cheap.
- 13:47Nor does Ice Cube that gross 236 million.
- 13:52It's weird to think about the fact that ice cube is in like
- 13:56Disney movies. Now know, because I feel like
- 14:01that's kind of like the trend of like, a rapper, like you become
- 14:05like, super aggressive, and like, you do not family shit.
- 14:09And then suddenly, you're, like in a movie where you have to
- 14:12drive a minivan full of goats and puppies.
- 14:17Okay, I don't know what, maybe you're referring to, but the one
- 14:21I'm afraid just be there. I'm going with, I've got a good
- 14:24movie out there for whoever wants to take that.
- 14:27Wants to leave that one. I don't care who you are.
- 14:30You can have it. Anyways, as a 4.8 on IMDb, okay?
- 14:34All right, and the final movie, and if anybody out there wants
- 14:37to defend anikanova wants to shit talk Jack Frost.
- 14:41Let me point out that those are almost the exact same score
- 14:44look. So I feel like anaconda on theme
- 14:46is kind of similar to Jack Frost because it's like stupid shit
- 14:51one and also like it's a thing that's killing you.
- 14:55That shouldn't be killing. You have a question.
- 14:57Yeah. Yeah.
- 14:58How big would a snake have to be to enter?
- 15:02Like Kaiju classification Kaiju. Yeah, it has to like Tower over
- 15:07something. Yeah but it's a snake so it
- 15:09doesn't really Tower. The can they can go up right?
- 15:12Okay. But that's not his primary mode
- 15:14of transportation, okay? Think of the dragon.
- 15:17From Dragon Ball, that's a Kaiju snake has to be that big, but
- 15:21those are Dragon saw a play. Then it's okay.
- 15:29To be a Kaiju. It has to be, I don't feel like
- 15:32the dragon is a kind, you like, okay, in order for it to be a
- 15:36Kaiju, it has one be upright to have wings three be a dragon,
- 15:43That's it. Cryptozoologist please weigh in
- 15:47on this to be a dragon. There's no Kaiju snakes that's
- 15:50it. But no.
- 15:52Okay, I don't think you have to be a dragon to be a Kaiju
- 15:57because we see King Kong and Clifford the Big Red, Dog.
- 16:03This we're doing this with Clifford being a Kaiju.
- 16:06Yes, I'm firmly on team kaiju for Clifford.
- 16:09No, yes, no. Yes.
- 16:12Maybe Okay, final movie. Okay, fun movie, right here.
- 16:20Oh boy, you want to know why I was so nervous about this.
- 16:23You wanna know why? It's fun?
- 16:25Because it's called funny games. Wait, is this the American or
- 16:28Austrian? This is the Austrian I believe
- 16:31because it came out in 1997. Okay, so for those who are not
- 16:35familiar, funny games is not fun.
- 16:37That is a very fucked up movie. It's not quite in the French
- 16:42extremity category because one is not Fringe to like people,
- 16:47usually chalk it up in that same batch of movies.
- 16:51Because it's just like, it's very yeah, it's unforgiving.
- 16:55It breaks, the fourth wall in a fun way, though, it does.
- 16:58And there, if you aren't a big subbing or dubbing person, then
- 17:05there is an American remake that was done by the same director,
- 17:10and it's almost shot for shot. I think it's an English
- 17:13originally. Anyways, maybe not actually, I
- 17:16could, I have no fucking clue. I've talked we watch TV.
- 17:19Yeah, yeah, we did. We did okay. 100% kind of set
- 17:26me. I'm looking this up now, because
- 17:28now I'm now, I'm concerned. Okay, well, I'll carry on so
- 17:32that came out May 14th. 1997. I don't have a budget.
- 17:36And I don't have a gross, but the IMDb scores seven point
- 17:40five. But yeah, I thought that that
- 17:42would be like a Just want to throw in because like this,
- 17:44right here, it kind of covers a whole gamut of movies that came
- 17:47out in 1987, because you have Jack Frost, the silly movie.
- 17:51You have Cube. The weird experimental movie
- 17:55that ended up being kind of unique Anaconda.
- 18:01That's a cash. Grab you get celebrities and
- 18:04stupid monster, and boom, whatever.
- 18:07It's like a blockbuster horror movie of the time.
- 18:09And then funny games, these weird fucked-up, little move,
- 18:12These that are disturbing language spoken and funny games,
- 18:161997, German French and Italian, okay?
- 18:21It's also known as this something with letters that
- 18:25aren't in our alphabet. You're right.
- 18:27Okay. So here we that.
- 18:28Yeah, I don't know what that says.
- 18:30Yep, that is beyond my knowledge which I'm very I believe it
- 18:34translates to game of funnies. No.
- 18:39Yes, we should cover that at some point.
- 18:42Yeah, definitely. I was actually thinking that way
- 18:43as well as I do. That's okay.
- 18:45Yeah. Okay.
- 18:47If we don't get real dark, when I have another weekend like when
- 18:51we covered Martyrs, I said on that episode that we're going to
- 18:55make it a fun episode. Guess why Jesse.
- 18:57We had a fun time talking about Martyrs that day okay?
- 19:01I'm just saying that was a fun one, we had fun, I got some more
- 19:05French extreme shit throughout their student too.
- 19:08So be on the lookout for that. Nobody.
- 19:10Alright tagline, just one, just one.
- 19:14Just one tag on this movie. Feels like, it's like, primed,
- 19:16to have, at least like five. Yeah.
- 19:19But no, just one. He's chilling and killing.
- 19:24I love it. Yeah, I love everything about it
- 19:27and I mean, that's if a tone of the movie and that attend, no,
- 19:29no. I guarantee you, the writer
- 19:31wrote that, I love it. When not only because, like, it
- 19:34seems like it came from somebody who knows it.
- 19:35But also like the writer and a director.
- 19:37Director kind of had to do a wide on this movie.
- 19:40He did so much even did all of the storyboards for the entire
- 19:43thing. He did the opening voiceovers
- 19:46really did. Yeah.
- 19:48Very true. Alright, so yeah, that's it for
- 19:50the taglines. Okay, fun, facts.
- 19:54So somebody in our Twitter reviews, brought up that they
- 20:03mistook this for this commercial for Campbell Soup.
- 20:08You may be familiar with the snow in.
- 20:10Yeah, 1990. Yeah, yeah.
- 20:12So the little snowman that's outside he's out there and he
- 20:15Waddles back in because he's all cold, he's shivering and he goes
- 20:18in there, he gets some, some Campbell's soups.
- 20:20So I added up to him, he eats it, not snowman.
- 20:23It's a kid. All along kid was frozen out
- 20:26there. Nobody taking care of him.
- 20:28He had to eat soup to sit next to it is negligent, but guess
- 20:31what? Super Saves the Day.
- 20:33So that's the lesson learned from there.
- 20:35I vividly remember being about 4.
- 20:37Or five years old and eating chicken noodle soup, out of my
- 20:40Tweety Bird mug. Because of that.
- 20:44Well, I do you just like drinking it like coffee.
- 20:47Yep. Then I threw it up into the
- 20:51kitchen sink. No wonder.
- 20:55He's, you're like, oh my God. I will turn.
- 20:57I won't be a snowman anymore. It's like, come on.
- 21:00We can have a whole mug of soup. I had was my Tweety Bird mug and
- 21:05I was obsessed with it. Was a mugging.
- 21:09The head was shaped was just shaped like the header Tweety
- 21:11Bird, and that's where you're like, I'm never eating chicken
- 21:15again, I think I threw it up because I wasn't using a spoon.
- 21:18I was just swallowing the noodles and chicken pissed.
- 21:20Dude, your dream like a fucking hot cocoa.
- 21:24That's not what it's meant for. Okay, well, the director Michael
- 21:30Cooney saw that. He's like hey if I could fucking
- 21:33make a movie, not see me throughout my chicken noodle
- 21:35soup. When he saw Jesse passing by
- 21:39that day is like holy shit movie about, I make a movie about
- 21:43snowman. Yeah, he saw that.
- 21:46And yeah, he was inspired by that idea.
- 21:51So funny thing is, this movie was originally supposed to be
- 21:54directed by. Renny Harlin not super familiar
- 21:59with that person stuff I did see that they have some decent
- 22:03movies under their belt. It was originally going to have
- 22:06a budget of 30 million dollars. Wow.
- 22:09Yeah. So this movie while this is a
- 22:11campy fun movie that doesn't take itself.
- 22:14Seriously, originally supposed to be played 100% straight full
- 22:18horror but their budgets fell through financing problems.
- 22:25Plagued this And they lost the director and Michael Cooney, who
- 22:31was just doing the story and writing at the time was like,
- 22:33fuck it. I got a direct because they
- 22:35couldn't afford a director. So they just had to have this
- 22:38guy that wrote this movie is like I it's got to be made.
- 22:41So I'm going to direct it. So he's directing and this is
- 22:44his first movie. I believe he had previously
- 22:48written another movie that we had watched together before
- 22:50called identity. Do you remember that?
- 22:53It's okay, John Cusack. Tell ya.
- 22:56Yeah, he wrote that. So he says that the budget for
- 23:02this movie was the same amount as the catering budget for that
- 23:07movie, which is crazy. That's how much it got cut down,
- 23:11from 30 million to like a fucking catering budget.
- 23:14Here's the thing as this, maybe if it had really good effects.
- 23:18Okay. I know, like, some people shit
- 23:20on the effects for this movie, for some reason, and I don't get
- 23:23it because I'm watching this and I'm like, honestly, this Pretty
- 23:26good. It's all practical.
- 23:30I'm pretty impressed with it. Personally, there is one point
- 23:33where the snowman looks kind of like a muppet but I think that's
- 23:36part of the charm of this movie like when he has the teeth.
- 23:39And yeah, exactly. I say about, yeah, that was a
- 23:43tough one. They didn't exactly what they
- 23:46wanted to have the icicle teeth and I can't really blame them.
- 23:50Yeah, I don't blame them either. I mean, I like the way it looks
- 23:54over all, even that scene. So yeah, this movie they had
- 24:00such a low budget that they had to shoot this on something
- 24:02called shortens. So what short ends is basically,
- 24:06whenever another movie finishes filming, they take the blank
- 24:09strips of film, re-roll it into a canister and then boom.
- 24:13You got a whole leftover rely film and they had to shoot it on
- 24:17that because they could not afford to get like the actual
- 24:22film for this. Oh my God, I know a fun fact for
- 24:25this. What?
- 24:27So they picked the location specifically because it was
- 24:30renowned for getting a lot of snow.
- 24:32And then when they showed up for filming, there was no snow.
- 24:35Yeah, so, that's why it seems like there's a town tradition of
- 24:39snowman building even though there is no snow.
- 24:43Yeah, I was actually reading about that, they like, they even
- 24:47filmed in Winter and they said that the temperatures got up to
- 24:5070 degrees and yeah, they use like a lot of foam and like, Cod
- 24:56and I think maybe yeah I snow yeah.
- 24:59I mean it looks okay. Ish.
- 25:03Okay. One other thing this kind of is
- 25:07about one of the scenes later on.
- 25:09That will be an issue. It's the scene where he attacks
- 25:14Jill's character, so I just want to throw this out there right
- 25:19now. That seems fucked up.
- 25:22Yeah, absolutely. A weird thing about that though,
- 25:26is Is it was never intended to be that originally so what they
- 25:30did when they film that they the editor noticed, one that knows
- 25:37is missing that was unintentional.
- 25:40They just didn't have it there apparently to he was supposed to
- 25:45just be like banging her up against the wall and killing her
- 25:49but the editors like hey this looks like he's actually like
- 25:54doing something else to her. And they didn't have enough film
- 26:00to re-film it and it would be, it would just be too much money
- 26:04for them to do that. So they like, well, we'll play
- 26:07it off as that and they brought that voice actor for Jack Frost.
- 26:12And, and he did wines, that kind of just made it seem like that.
- 26:15He was making not like, the one liners they does.
- 26:19I mean, they could have just left it.
- 26:22They could have. Yeah, I agree because if it
- 26:25weren't for the carrot, And the one liner is than you wouldn't
- 26:28be good. Yeah yeah and I feel like it
- 26:31would be implied if they didn't even do anything because of
- 26:34carrots missing but at the same time you could have you had two
- 26:37directions. You could have gone one you just
- 26:40lean into it even harder which is what they chose.
- 26:45That's the wrong, it's the wrong choice but to you could just
- 26:48leave it alone and people will find it upsetting but you're not
- 26:52making it worse. Yeah.
- 26:54So yeah they didn't. Choose that one, but I thought
- 26:57it was interesting that it wasn't even intended to be that
- 27:00because like, it feels like, it's all leading up to that,
- 27:02truly, don't know if that makes it better or worse, like, it was
- 27:05unintentional and they're like, hey, you know, let's roll with
- 27:09it, I don't. Yeah, yeah, no.
- 27:11I it's kind of icky. So, that's enough.
- 27:13So fun fact and our fun facts on cool.
- 27:16Thanks for that. You are.
- 27:17Welcome, everybody. We're not having a fun episode
- 27:19with this one. If you want fun, go listen to a
- 27:22Martyrs, but if you want to be bummed out, I've got Jack Frost
- 27:27for you guys. All right, Jesse, tell me what
- 27:30you think about this. Oh, I love it.
- 27:32Yeah. Hey, I fucking love this movie.
- 27:34I've always loved this movie, take it with a grain of salt,
- 27:38because I'm also an Unapologetic fan of Batman and Robin's.
- 27:43So I might just be biased words ice puns.
- 27:46Oh God. You know, I yeah, didn't even
- 27:50make the connection. I was like, why is she talking
- 27:51about Batman here? There's so many other bad horror
- 27:54movies that we will have. I would let that slide.
- 27:56Like my ultimate crossover is Jack Frost and mr.
- 28:00Freeze, I want to know, I want them battling it out and I want
- 28:03it to be shorts an acre. In his current age.
- 28:07Yeah, I want him. He's like I did bodybuilding
- 28:11added acting. I did governing.
- 28:13It's time to go back to acting. All of this is leading up to my
- 28:17role in Jack Frost three yes yeah definitely.
- 28:22Peak of his career. So I fuckin love the campiness
- 28:30of it. I love how fucking insufferable
- 28:33the kid is and I blame this. I believe this particular
- 28:38fucking kid for why I never know how old a child is supposed to
- 28:41be in a movie because he legitimately looks like he's
- 28:44supposed to be 9 or 10 years old but he acts like he's maybe for
- 28:47yeah you will. Okay, he looks old and he
- 28:51definitely act super super young.
- 28:53It is confusing I feel like we've seen worse out there
- 28:58though. For sure, this kid is just
- 29:00stupid, no matter what age you are, like this kids dumb.
- 29:05I just don't like, I think about all of our nieces and nephews
- 29:08which range in age from 1 to 8. Yeah.
- 29:13And I don't think a single one of them would try to feed us
- 29:16anti-freeze. I don't think so but I don't
- 29:20want to put it past anybody either because if they did they
- 29:23would be doing it for full of malice.
- 29:26This is what life is like. I'd say no, there's no way that
- 29:30would happen on this podcast. It'll release on Thursday
- 29:33Friday. When we're visiting family.
- 29:36I'm going to drink some antifreeze somehow.
- 29:37Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah, slip it in there.
- 29:40I'm gonna look like a fool and it's just not gonna be fun.
- 29:44Died with shame to your name. Shame to my name, baby, it's
- 29:48outgoing. But yeah, so I just, I love
- 29:51everything. I love how over the fucking top.
- 29:54It is is just It's fun. It's fun.
- 29:57I understand how movies? Like this.
- 29:59Do not appeal to people if you like, good movies.
- 30:03Yeah. This probably isn't going to be
- 30:04your jam, but I love it. It's nonsense and it's like it's
- 30:09a nonsense that mostly comes from a loving place.
- 30:12And I'm I'm on board. Okay.
- 30:14Yeah. The bad I mean some of us know
- 30:19props look really fucking bad. Some of them due to the point
- 30:22where I'm like is this meant to look like fake snow or are you
- 30:25you implying that the house is decorated with felt cutouts of
- 30:31melted snow because I've never seen those in practice anywhere.
- 30:38Yeah Elder than maybe inside of an elementary school classroom
- 30:42by like a first-year teacher that's really into the holiday
- 30:45decorations is the only time I've ever seen that kind of
- 30:48decoration so I feel like it was meant to be like oh yeah there's
- 30:51definitely snow on the roof of this building.
- 30:54Yeah. They were struggling and the
- 30:57times where you can tell that, it's like a mitten.
- 31:02Oh yeah, that's whatever. I was saying it can't be charm
- 31:05to it that I love. Yeah, it is.
- 31:08It's definitely part of its charm that ugly.
- 31:11Obviously. It's Jill's death scene.
- 31:13All right. Yeah.
- 31:14We don't need to rape characters to death and we don't need to
- 31:19play it off as a joke ever that it's just no.
- 31:23Yeah and The Absurd is just fucking all of it.
- 31:29Alright. It's just silly fucking movie.
- 31:34He goes. All right.
- 31:35He's stealing more pieces to his outfit.
- 31:37I don't know if you caught that, but like, because he starts off
- 31:41with just his face and then like he steals the pipe and then he
- 31:46steals the scars. Holy shit.
- 31:48Yeah, yeah, I never noticed that before.
- 31:52Yeah, wow. So I just it's just silly movie.
- 31:57Yeah. And I love it so much and like,
- 31:59you can really see other horror references in it.
- 32:03Like, there's definitely a lot. Of Nightmare on Elm Street stuff
- 32:05with the way he like, Ben's against physics.
- 32:08I think this the music. There's a lot of times where it
- 32:11reminds me of like when it's not even Christmas music.
- 32:15Yeah. Return of the Living Dead with
- 32:18the furnace scene and the obvious connection is Child's
- 32:23Play. Yeah, definitely.
- 32:25Yeah. So it's the same type of vibe.
- 32:28Yeah. Something that's killing people.
- 32:30That shouldn't be and nobody believes the kid.
- 32:33Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it takes all of these
- 32:35elements of great horror movies and just absolutely Goose it up
- 32:39and I love it. It's so much fun.
- 32:42So what do you rate it? 7.75 she having points.
- 32:46Yeah and I know there are probably some of you out there
- 32:51thinking Jesse, didn't you write The Shining and eight?
- 32:57Are you saying that this is almost as good as Stanley
- 32:59Kubrick's The Shining? And I am yeah, from an
- 33:02entertainment standpoint for me. Personally, these ratings are
- 33:06100% subjective. I'm going to say this, I have a
- 33:10hell of a lot more fun watching this.
- 33:12Maybe then I do watching The Shining.
- 33:14Oh yeah. So yeah.
- 33:16The my scores, the scores mean nothing on this show.
- 33:19It's really an internal measurement for us.
- 33:22From where we start the discussion to where we ended.
- 33:26We're not critics were just very emotional horror fans.
- 33:30We I cannot be expected to be held up to the OEM standards I
- 33:34set for myself. Secondly, be ridiculous.
- 33:39Okay, I agree. I really, really like this
- 33:42movie. This movie has been one that
- 33:45I've watched for a long time now and it's perfect for this time
- 33:48of year. I don't, I mean, we've watched
- 33:51it in the summer before but Like it feels kind of wrong.
- 33:54I feel like this needs to be a winter movie and I want to say
- 33:56this is part of like my favorite.
- 33:58Joe Bob, special line up that do that.
- 34:01Okay, what is it? It's the red Christmas and it's
- 34:04got this black Christmas and Silent Night deadly night too.
- 34:09It's the most stacked special. It is the most chaotic special.
- 34:14Yeah, I'm, we're going to be talking about the other one next
- 34:17week. I really wanted to talk about
- 34:20the Silent Night. Deadly night.
- 34:22Two or one at some point. If we talked about to were
- 34:26inherently going to be talking about one, okay?
- 34:28Okay, I wish that we could have done that this year.
- 34:32But maybe next year, there's so many Christmas warm because out
- 34:37there there's a lot to choose from, but okay, I love this
- 34:42movie. It's a lot of fun bad.
- 34:47The story is very Bear and things happen that don't really
- 34:53have any explanations like nobody ever mentions, the cops
- 34:57her to the cops that the family gets killed at their house.
- 35:02The guy that gets to act shutdowns throw in the woman
- 35:04gets tied to the tree like they just died and the cop goes over
- 35:09there to investigate anyways. No Paul comes over to drop off
- 35:13some salt for their sidewalk. Holy shit.
- 35:16You're right. Okay then I'm wrong.
- 35:19Okay. So these perfect then.
- 35:20Yeah. Nothing bad about it.
- 35:23Okay. The ugly I mean it's so obvious
- 35:28it's that thing. But yeah I feel like I need to
- 35:30say something different. You don't have to don't ask.
- 35:34Yeah. That's pretty mention agreeable.
- 35:36Ugly Point. Okay.
- 35:38So there's that. Yeah.
- 35:40And that's really the only ugly thing about this movie really
- 35:43and the Absurd, this fucking kids cooking.
- 35:47It's so fucking weird. I like that.
- 35:50Even the people in the movie like the characters.
- 35:52Don't even take the kids. Seriously.
- 35:54They're also concerned. Like they give him that.
- 35:57Look like what the fuck? Have you been doing?
- 36:00And it's just fun. It's so funny.
- 36:02It's stupid. I love it.
- 36:05I love this movie. I am going to give it an 8 out
- 36:08of 10. I like it.
- 36:10Oh what? I have more fun watching this
- 36:13than the shiny. Absolutely.
- 36:16The shrine is an amazing movie but it's not really.
- 36:19Fun. Like I enjoyed watching him.
- 36:22But like at the same time I don't really like this one has a
- 36:25much greater re-watch ability. Exactly, like I've watched The
- 36:28Shining I'm good for another five years.
- 36:31You know I can I can let that one rest for a while.
- 36:34Jack Frost's I'm watching again next month, probably next week,
- 36:38probably next week. Yeah.
- 36:41Okay. So we have a starting average of
- 36:4278-75. Nice as hi-yah.
- 36:46Okay, you ready is about a better Rider.
- 36:54Okay. So the movie starts off.
- 36:57We have a little kid begging for storytime, asks for a happy
- 37:02scary story. Sounds like a lot of our nieces
- 37:06and nephews definitely. Yeah, scary stories are the
- 37:09best, especially the story about Jack Frost, which we are told by
- 37:14the director and writer of this movie.
- 37:16Yes. Yeah, Michael Cooney.
- 37:19I love the opening credits to this because of just the way
- 37:24that they do the actual credits there on the ornaments.
- 37:28So cool cast and crew, Everybody gets like a nice little
- 37:31Spotlight to. Yeah, it's really nice and then
- 37:34he tells her don't worry about Jack Frost.
- 37:36He's on his way to be executed tonight.
- 37:39Yeah, which we cut to, yeah, it's a group of.
- 37:44Are they cops security, guys? They're probably like, Like
- 37:49Corrections Officers corrections officer?
- 37:52Yeah, they're escorting. Jack Frost, he's being executed,
- 37:56the man driving, the car is not John Travolta and or Dan
- 38:03Aykroyd, but he's also not not John Travolta and organic raised
- 38:08both of them. Yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 38:11It's like, he went into the little pods from the fly.
- 38:16Oh my God. Yeah, he's a brundle and so
- 38:18happy. Yeah, yes.
- 38:21They're like giving back story. Basically talking about Jack
- 38:25Frost was wanted. He was like a serial killer,
- 38:28it's really fucked up. Shit.
- 38:30Some of these crimes that they're talking about from his
- 38:32past or really fucked up. Yeah, Balian up.
- 38:36Getting stopped by a local cop. Who just swooped in at the
- 38:41final. Yeah, yeah.
- 38:42And so he's on his way to be executed and the officer in the
- 38:48back. Makes fatal mistake of giving
- 38:50him a cigarette? I don't think we do you think
- 38:53that's what happened on? He actually gave him a smoke.
- 38:56Like they were kind of talking about it because I okay.
- 38:58Yeah. Because some he's like, yeah,
- 39:00you got a smoke and then the FBI guys, like we're not the FBI,
- 39:03the the cop guy or the guard? Excuse me, just say officer, the
- 39:07officer works. The officer was like, no fucking
- 39:11way. It cuts to the guys up front
- 39:14talking about how he got busted and we get the flashback of Nah,
- 39:19that's okay. Excuse me.
- 39:23So, either way, either way they're making bad jokes and
- 39:26then they end up wrecking. Yeah, in a breaking into this
- 39:30guy driving, a research like chemicals.
- 39:35Basically is yes that will come into play in a minute.
- 39:39Do you want to just go ahead and talk about how it comes into
- 39:41play? Yeah, okay.
- 39:45I didn't I guess I feel like we got introduced to the Like the
- 39:50cop has some point during this to its after all that it is.
- 39:53Okay, yeah. So what happens is Jack Frost
- 39:56ends up getting out because of the wreck and kills.
- 40:00One of the guards or the officers either already killed
- 40:03the one in the back. Yeah.
- 40:05The wreck kills one of the ones up front, the third one gets out
- 40:08sees Frost in this and I've very cleverly wrote in my notes being
- 40:14defrosted. Yeah, she's melting in the
- 40:17chemicals. Yeah.
- 40:18And they spill on In the tank busts open.
- 40:20And then we got a frosty vision of his DNA being mutated.
- 40:24Yeah, I like that a lot. I love this scene, like this is
- 40:27where we were talking about screaming mad, George probably
- 40:30being responsible for the effects, because it looks really
- 40:32good here. So yeah, okay, now we cut to the
- 40:36cop. Yeah, the cop and his wife and
- 40:38son are in the car. It clicks past midnight and
- 40:41she's like, all right. Cool, it's over.
- 40:43No more stays of execution. And then the cops Sam has a
- 40:46flashback. He's the sheriff.
- 40:49If to pulling over a car and tiling, the man to show him his
- 40:54license, but also stay away from the vehicle and then me and Jack
- 40:58Frost were on the same page and like, how you can't have it both
- 41:01ways as like, which one do you want me to do you want me to
- 41:03stand here? Do you want me to get my license
- 41:05and Sam cranks it to fucking 13 and starts shooting?
- 41:11He just like pulls out. The gun is like no fucking way.
- 41:14He got bad vibes and he's just like I'm gonna fucking kill this
- 41:17guy. This guy.
- 41:19Just outsmarted. Me.
- 41:20God damn it, honest-to-god. Dumb luck.
- 41:25Everybody treats him like he's this great Sheriff because he
- 41:28cut serial killer Jack Frost. No he just has a panicky trigger
- 41:33finger, dude. Yeah, Jack Frost is just taking
- 41:35a piss. He wasn't even doing anything
- 41:37wrong. Yeah, the cops like, hey, I'm
- 41:39gonna fucking kill you. Basically, I mean public decency
- 41:43laws. He might have been violating
- 41:44that by. I was thinking about urination.
- 41:46Yeah. But like, I don't know, like,
- 41:49whatever. Not like, that's not gonna draw
- 41:52worthy. You know what I mean?
- 41:55Yeah. So then we cut to a scene of him
- 41:58being like escorted from the courthouse after he's been
- 42:01convicted. He's cosplaying as Max dad.
- 42:04Oh my God, you're right. And he swears revenge and then
- 42:14this is the part where the cops drive by the, like the The
- 42:18accident and Ryan being the sheriff's son has absolutely no
- 42:22respect for the dead. Yeah.
- 42:24What is he saying is some dumb rhyme about being glad, it's not
- 42:27him - not me. Yeah.
- 42:30And then the sheriff pulls over to ask what happened.
- 42:36And then the guys like no go away, then he's like, okay, he's
- 42:40just like shit, wasn't thinking anybody would say they had no
- 42:45spine. It's the fucking Sheriff.
- 42:52I just love how quick that is respect.
- 42:58I like, when we cut to their house because it's a very
- 43:02realistic house for a sheriff and yeah, it is.
- 43:05It's a very small town. I said he doesn't have a
- 43:08sprawling Foursquare layout. Yeah, I think it's a real place.
- 43:14Okay. So we have the FBI guy coming in
- 43:16its agent manners He is questioning the guy that
- 43:21survived so far fucking ahead, am I?
- 43:23Yeah, we haven't talked about Ryan, shitty oats.
- 43:28Oh, my God. Okay, that's the scene.
- 43:31Okay, wait, I thought that was later.
- 43:33No. Okay, dude, you're right.
- 43:36You're right. You could have two notes.
- 43:39I take. You can't argue with me about
- 43:41what order we're at using. Okay, so we're at the house.
- 43:45Yeah, the fucking kid is. Is over there at the stove.
- 43:50You can see he's got this big, my bag of marshmallows next to
- 43:54him. He's just stirring in this pot
- 43:57and then he gets the spoon and he Scoops it out into a bag and
- 44:01he hands it to his dad. He's like, hey Dad, I made
- 44:04special and the dad just looks at him and looks at the bag and
- 44:09then looks back at him and he's questioning what the fuck that
- 44:12is. But he reluctantly takes it
- 44:14because he loves his son. So there's a snowman-building
- 44:18contest in the Town Square. I call Shenanigans on the size
- 44:23of these snowmen and the lack of snow on the ground.
- 44:26Have you ever tried to make all the snowmen?
- 44:30No. But like, have you ever tried to
- 44:31make a snowman? You get patchy ground all around
- 44:35you. Like, there's no way.
- 44:36There's just no fucking way. Yeah, the scene really serves to
- 44:39be as kind of like an exposition of all of the side characters
- 44:43were going to meet. Yeah, pretty much and then Then
- 44:46yeah it's a it's a way to introduce them.
- 44:50Basically then we get to the Sheriff's Station.
- 44:53Marla has been very festive and took the police like caution
- 45:00tape and cut little paper snowman out of it.
- 45:03Yeah I love. That was a nice detail.
- 45:05You pointed out last night so they somebody died and the
- 45:13sheriff goes out to look at it with his two deputies.
- 45:15Is, and it looks like he froze on his chair over night.
- 45:20So he tells the deputies that they needed to go do various
- 45:23tasks and he's going to call the FBI because he needs to confirm
- 45:26that Frost is dead. Yeah, it's it's interesting that
- 45:30they jump to like foul play with this right here because it just
- 45:35looks like an old man has died. Like he just fell asleep.
- 45:38And didn't wake up. Yeah, like he just got too tired
- 45:41and he was like, all right, I guess I'm letting the elements
- 45:44take me tonight. I like these scenes with
- 45:46investigating the dead body. It's the same three cops, and
- 45:49they just look stumped. It's funny how I could.
- 45:53This is where we cut to the FBI. So the FBI are like.
- 45:57Yeah, no Frost is definitely 100% dead.
- 46:00He hangs up and he looks at the scientist.
- 46:02A scientist says, it was an accident.
- 46:04They hadn't tested it on anything.
- 46:05He's like, we hadn't tested on a single amiibo, let alone a human
- 46:08cell. And I would like to point out
- 46:10that an amoeba is a single-celled organism.
- 46:14So, Fucking outsmarted him. They call the local doc who
- 46:21examines the dead guys body. And he says that the vertebrae
- 46:25was he does all of this on site. There's no like actual official
- 46:30medical exam that now that's obscene.
- 46:32Yeah, like he walks up and he goes, yep, he's got no bruising
- 46:36on his face. So it must have been something
- 46:38soft covering it, and he's got a single broken vertebrae.
- 46:42So, clearly it was a very strong person, whoever it was Was like
- 46:46what? Yeah, this guy likes to talk
- 46:49about this killer strength away. He gets so fascinated with okay.
- 46:55So yeah, it was a old man Harper.
- 46:57He froze kid makes more special I don't even know.
- 47:03He's fucking cooking this time. His mom's over it and she's
- 47:06like, hey, go play outside in the snow.
- 47:09Finish up your snowman, you dipshit and the kids like make a
- 47:13snowman and she goes well, give him a face, whatever.
- 47:16I don't get out of my house. She's a serious.
- 47:21No, man. I know who it is.
- 47:24Give that guy some soup. He could be somebody completely
- 47:26different. Yeah, he could be a child.
- 47:28Could be a child out there. What are you thinking?
- 47:30So he goes out there. And he puts his face together in
- 47:35fucking dipshit. Ryan has to put a little snowman
- 47:38puppet on his hand. I was about to ask is this
- 47:42normal, as I've never seen this before, I kind of get it, but at
- 47:47the same time it's it is excessive because like you know
- 47:51what? A snowman.
- 47:51Looks like it's simple. You just give a little eyes.
- 47:54A little smile carrot nose. And that's all he did.
- 47:57He did a carrot nose. He did two pieces of coal for
- 48:00eyes and then he like shoved his hand.
- 48:02And in the head to make a mouth. Yeah, he gave him a big smile.
- 48:06Like that's all all he did. Did he need the puppet for that
- 48:12apparently. The only this kid is not bright.
- 48:16I do like though when he's making the mouth, the little
- 48:19things like the teeth come out. That icicles wish we'd gotten
- 48:23something with that. Like, even just like a little
- 48:24cut on the tip of his finger. Yeah, well, fuck your house,
- 48:27Franco mama, you know what I mean?
- 48:31So, Get some bully shown up. Yeah, there's a mob at the
- 48:36police station. Meanwhile demanding answers.
- 48:42Somebody else doesn't have respect for the dead.
- 48:43This time is called Avro who's like I yeah everybody here is
- 48:47concerned 20% off. Ammo.
- 48:48Come with me. This guy loves to do like good
- 48:51people work. The I guarantee.
- 48:53There's not a graveyard in this town because these people are
- 48:56all just super fucking disrespectful.
- 48:58Yeah. Okay.
- 49:00So bully show up. They kick.
- 49:02Ryan off. His own front lawn because he's
- 49:03got about as much of a backbone as his father.
- 49:06Yeah. Oh, he doesn't have a straw -
- 49:11yeah. They actually know.
- 49:13Anna has the back. We'll talk about her.
- 49:14She does. Yeah.
- 49:17So this kid comes up and he's like nice Snowman and then he
- 49:22knocks the head off of it. Like you do if you're a teenage
- 49:24bully and then the Snowman pushes Billy over is his friend
- 49:29is sledding and it cuts his head.
- 49:33Yeah okay so the second billy gets knocked to the ground and
- 49:36the slide comes towards his head.
- 49:39Ryan goes full Bart Simpson he's like I didn't do it.
- 49:42I know right? Yeah immediate like that's
- 49:44guilty fucking guilty. Yeah right then we cut to mad
- 49:48sad dad. Oh we get more.
- 49:50Mad said that you do we do and this guy has every right to be
- 49:54mad. Yeah, he's like my son died.
- 49:57On your front. Lawn it, Sheriff.
- 49:59This is like a very real and the sheriff's.
- 50:02Like I believe my son and it's like, well of course you do.
- 50:06That doesn't mean that you're correct.
- 50:08But it's like the kids sing the fucking snow made.
- 50:11Did it? Do you not hear that your kid
- 50:14made special? Yeah.
- 50:16And then samhsa's Billy is two feet taller than Ryan.
- 50:24Ryan couldn't have pushed him over and somebody in the
- 50:27background, I don't know who but I want to know.
- 50:29Is that not anymore? I don't remember that.
- 50:35Swear to God I heard it last night.
- 50:38Not anymore. Oh, that's good.
- 50:42So that night sheriff is looking through his keepsake box of
- 50:47threatening letters. Now I have a question for you.
- 50:50If you're going to sign off on the death threat, are you going
- 50:54to take the effort to cut all the letters out of a magazine?
- 50:57Yeah. If it's clearly from you right
- 51:00like it doesn't the whole point of that is so you can't have
- 51:03like a handwriting that yeah. I don't know they just ride.
- 51:07It looks cool. Like that's definitely.
- 51:09What is so a serial killer would do just you know, send messages
- 51:13like that. And also wouldn't you, if you
- 51:16speak in contractions and you're going through the effort of
- 51:18cutting of the magazine letters, when you like, give yourself a
- 51:22little bit of a break and also write and contractions.
- 51:25Instead of saying, I will find a way.
- 51:28Yeah. Yeah.
- 51:30This maybe it's a very silly little movie.
- 51:33Yeah. Very do you think that those are
- 51:35All details. Who do you think it's like?
- 51:37Fuck ups on the like the prop Department.
- 51:39I think somebody else like this is how death threats look as
- 51:43they head up clippings from a newspaper and then somebody else
- 51:46is like we need to add Jack Frost name here because surely
- 51:50people will not put two and two together.
- 51:52Yeah, yeah, you gotta assume people are dumb.
- 51:56So we wind up with this, it's perfect.
- 52:00Okay. So at the saddest house in the
- 52:03city, Oh my God. So we're cutting back to the
- 52:08family and yeah, he's parents. Billy is apparently the younger
- 52:11brother of Jill. Yes, Joe is.
- 52:15Okay, this this whole scene can be summed up as maladaptive
- 52:20coping skills. Yeah, this is okay.
- 52:22It's kind of like fucked up. So the mom is trying to like
- 52:26carry on about the day like normal.
- 52:28She's 100% thought blocking. Yeah, she's in denial.
- 52:31Yeah, yeah, and which I can understand that.
- 52:34Being annoying and the dad's like we can't do that shit.
- 52:37Our son just died today. This is fucked up and Jill is
- 52:42like trying to go out to me. Tommy Tommy, your boy, busy
- 52:46making snow woman with boobs before.
- 52:49Yeah. And the dance like we like what
- 52:55is wrong with you? People like we need to be
- 52:57together today. Yeah he's like very very harsh
- 53:02about the way you know. He's definitely an asshole but
- 53:06like we don't know that he's always an asshole.
- 53:09It seems like for all we know this is not how he normally is
- 53:13just grief acting out. Yeah yeah so he decides he's
- 53:19going to go out and smoke and chop some wood and then he ends
- 53:23up getting an axe down his throat.
- 53:26The handle of the axe. Not the yeah, he goes like a
- 53:30full Michael Myers Halloween for and instead of asking him with
- 53:33an axe, He like takes the handle and shoves it through his mouth.
- 53:36Yeah, he only asked for a smoke. Yeah, that's a little one on it.
- 53:43So he has the ability to turn into a puddle and then re
- 53:47materialized as a snowman. So what he does is he turns into
- 53:50a bottle goes inside. So we cut to the scene of the
- 53:54mom sitting by this Christmas tree.
- 53:56Nah, and this scene is sad, is a gut punch after another because
- 54:00first of all, there are so many fucking Presence by this
- 54:02Christmas tree. And when you Is that half of
- 54:05them are probably for Billy? Oh yeah.
- 54:08And then she looks up and the lights are on and she's like,
- 54:13oh, you shouldn't have that's so sweet.
- 54:15I'm like, really. Is that how low your bar is?
- 54:18That's what she was asking before?
- 54:19She's like, we should turn the lights on, right?
- 54:21And he's like, how could you fucking think something like
- 54:24that right now? And that's like, an over
- 54:25reaction, right? Let's turn this is again, total
- 54:29darkness, I can we turn the lights on you?
- 54:31Billy love these lights. So yeah the lights are on and
- 54:40then he turns into a snowman behind her and then turns back
- 54:44into a puddle because he went, he just wanted to start a larger
- 54:48just learned how to do it. Yeah he's like holy shit.
- 54:51It's like he doesn't have full control, he had kind of popping
- 54:54up and down. So he pushes her into the
- 54:56Christmas tree, takes the lights and all that stuff and wraps
- 54:59around her and smashes her face into ornaments and Yeah, she
- 55:04dies was actually a pretty cool effect here, too.
- 55:07It's very good glass shards and her face.
- 55:09Yeah. This is where Paul dobrow walks
- 55:12in and then immediately, walks right back, right?
- 55:14The fuck back out because he's all the Snowman to he saw it
- 55:18happening. It's not like he just saw a dead
- 55:20body, like he saw the snow me and killing her.
- 55:25So the cops of here and there, like, Jesus Christ.
- 55:30So he has to tell Jill. Her whole family is dead, which
- 55:33I appreciated. That those like a nice moment of
- 55:36like because I feel like a lot of times in horror movies cops
- 55:39are written as total assholes and like this was just like a
- 55:42nice moment of like, cool. We've got various murders
- 55:45happening but also there's an 18 year old who's just?
- 55:49Yeah, I lost everybody in her life.
- 55:51A true concern. However I just want to point out
- 55:54the Paul guy hasn't had a chance to make it back yet to phone the
- 55:57police. So they did show up without
- 56:00being contacted his. Remember we cut to him still
- 56:03being chased Here in the little bit, huh?
- 56:06So this is show up. So, yeah, maybe this movie isn't
- 56:09perfect, so Sam gets back to the station.
- 56:13The feds are there. They say they're taking over
- 56:16manners and stone realize that the Snowman can freeze and
- 56:19unfreeze. The doc is looking at the dad's
- 56:25death and he says, it had to have taken a lot of force to get
- 56:27this backs down, without any wiggling side to side again,
- 56:31this is all just with him, like eyeballing it.
- 56:34Yeah. Yeah he's like well this is what
- 56:35this shows like it's like when you're when you need to buy like
- 56:39furniture or picture frame or something and you're like yeah
- 56:43this is definitely the right size.
- 56:45Just going off of is fucking wrong.
- 56:47It's always wrong. It's never cracked.
- 56:49Oh yeah, so there's like a town hall.
- 56:53They have a curfew curfew all the time like all day. 24 hours.
- 57:00Yeah, it's okay. That's excessive perfe that's a
- 57:03lockdown. Yeah.
- 57:04Right? It's a bit accessories.
- 57:06Like well if you're out walking around, we won't arrest you.
- 57:09We won't do anything. It's like what's the point of a
- 57:11curfew then? Like that's exactly what it's
- 57:14therefore, they can't be doing that shit.
- 57:16Yeah, also don't admit that you're not going to have a
- 57:19backbone. As I I fucking won't do
- 57:22anything. I'm just saying this, if you
- 57:24stand up to me at all I Won't Back Down.
- 57:27I will roll over and immediately so they here.
- 57:34Commotion outside its Paul. He is knocking all the snowmen
- 57:38down, the feds run up and they're like, insulting Paul in
- 57:44the whole town and they take a swing at Paul to calm him down,
- 57:52terrible, terrible planning and you know Sam eventually gets
- 57:57them to walk away and when the W goes, you should have punched
- 58:00him. So All split up again.
- 58:05And one of the Deputy is Kris is driving.
- 58:10He sees the Snowman Jack Frost in the middle of the road
- 58:13holding stops, I'm so he gets out and then of course Frost
- 58:18melts and then gets into the car and he can drive.
- 58:22Yeah, he's got no feet but you drive, you can make Wolfie.
- 58:25And I really hope he's just got teeny tiny.
- 58:29Whoo, just about Like maybe it's just like an icicle just like
- 58:38yeah little tiny icicles. Yeah yeah so he runs Chris over.
- 58:44Yep. So they're going to have like a
- 58:49lock-in type situation like townsfolk can gather and I'm at
- 58:53the church. Yeah.
- 58:55And / Anna went home to get blankets so the other Deputy
- 59:00gets sent there to help her and she Like cuz he sneaks up behind
- 59:05her and she dresses him down and he's like yes, ma'am.
- 59:09Absolutely. Will not ever do that again.
- 59:11Very sorry. She's assertive.
- 59:15And then we take a random leak. Yeah.
- 59:18Under the sink. Yeah.
- 59:19And ends up just being like a nice burst in the pipe.
- 59:23Yeah. So yeah.
- 59:26So after they leave we see Bill and Joe Billy and Jill Tom and
- 59:31Tommy and Joe. Yes.
- 59:34Yeah, they're gonna sneak into the sheriff's house to fuck, and
- 59:38I don't really get the reasoning behind this.
- 59:41I think that they only had one. Yes.
- 59:43Going to say, they had the budget for one location.
- 59:46Yeah. So they're like, okay, it's got
- 59:48to be here again. So, they're there.
- 59:51They go inside. They immediately start stripping
- 59:54and there's so many layers and I love it.
- 59:56Yeah, so realistic. Yeah, they like take off five
- 59:59pairs of clothing, and then they still have like their Long
- 1:00:02John's on underneath. So she tells him to get some
- 1:00:07wine and a roaring fire going and she's going to go get ready.
- 1:00:12So he okay, he gets the wine and he does a thing that I thought I
- 1:00:16question I'm not a wine drinker but he takes wine and puts ice
- 1:00:20cubes in there. I've never done that people do
- 1:00:23that though. It has been done.
- 1:00:26I'm pretty sure it's only done with like very full bodied.
- 1:00:29Wines that can stand to be like a watered down.
- 1:00:32Okay, General. Lee, though, if you want chilled
- 1:00:35wine, you would just chill the bottle.
- 1:00:37Yeah, that's what I would think to.
- 1:00:39You definitely, wouldn't go into a freezer and stick a pick in it
- 1:00:43and just drop chunks of frost into.
- 1:00:46Yeah, yeah, yeah. The wine glass.
- 1:00:49And that I would have loved because it's obviously Jack
- 1:00:53frosters in the freezer. Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:55I would have loved after this got dropped into the wine when
- 1:00:57he comes out of the freezer. If you know, he had to get that
- 1:01:01little piece of him, that was in the wine glass.
- 1:01:03And then, he just like had Little pink stain on him for the
- 1:01:05rest of the movie. Oh that would have been good.
- 1:01:07Like he like wine stains and yeah that'd be hilarious but he
- 1:01:11could tell like a tongue. Yeah.
- 1:01:13Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:01:16Okay. So yeah that's not what happens.
- 1:01:19Jack Frost materializes you can just shoot icicles now.
- 1:01:24Yeah. He's like actually shooting
- 1:01:26Tommy with the icicles and it goes through his head or
- 1:01:29whatever. Yeah.
- 1:01:30Well and here is where another possibility of a screaming bad
- 1:01:33George moment because We're on the other side of the door and
- 1:01:35we just see like the bloody icicle come through and then we
- 1:01:39see the icicle get pulled back through and then we just see
- 1:01:42like a brain like kind of pulsing.
- 1:01:44Yeah, no. No.
- 1:01:45You know what you're right, I feel like that Meg.
- 1:01:47That's definitely another one he could have done.
- 1:01:50Okay, so now he goes upstairs and different part of the house.
- 1:01:56I don't know if it's upstairs or not, it doesn't matter.
- 1:01:58I don't really want to linger on the scene, very much.
- 1:01:59This is a scene where he killed Shannon Elizabeth.
- 1:02:01Yeah, okay, that's cool. Enough.
- 1:02:04It's gross. And it was on, it's unnecessary
- 1:02:07and especially now knowing the backstory, it's completely
- 1:02:09unnecessary. She finds a bathtub as Shannon.
- 1:02:13Elizabeth, always, yes she yeah. She is like wandering around and
- 1:02:18she gets Overjoyed at seeing the bathroom.
- 1:02:21She immediately gets into the bathtub.
- 1:02:23Yep, it's two times. It's happened already.
- 1:02:26Yes. So I can't see why I won't
- 1:02:27happen a third time either. Okay.
- 1:02:31So we cut to the Sheriff's Station.
- 1:02:34And the FEDS are talking about all the roadblocks are doing
- 1:02:36than the local cops, get to have a nice laugh at them because
- 1:02:39they don't know all the ins and outs of the town.
- 1:02:42Like they don't know that there was a road reopens somewhere.
- 1:02:48They don't know about how the snow creates an impossible
- 1:02:51driving situation, like they just kind of have fun.
- 1:02:53Like, have a little bit of a moment where they're like, yeah,
- 1:02:56we know this territory a little bit better than you.
- 1:02:58Yeah. Now so this is where we see
- 1:03:02Frost appearing in front of. Of the authorities.
- 1:03:06Yeah. So he appears because Chris's
- 1:03:08car is back and they go out to investigate it increases and out
- 1:03:12there. And then all of a sudden, Frosty
- 1:03:14appears as a Snowman and attacks him.
- 1:03:18Did you just come Frosty? I did, okay, Jack Frost is there
- 1:03:28and attacks them, so they all get away.
- 1:03:30They go back inside the police station, he melts and comes
- 1:03:33under the door. And so they shoot at the puddle
- 1:03:36and then the, then Stone goes, of course, you can only hurt him
- 1:03:40in solid form. What the shooting fucking water?
- 1:03:43Yeah, it's stupid. But so, okay.
- 1:03:47So they sent an aerosol trap to escape, but But Sam has left his
- 1:03:53keys in the door, which they need to get out the other side.
- 1:03:56So he goes back and he takes the longest fucking, it's painful.
- 1:04:02It takes them a whole minute to grab his keys, but not even that
- 1:04:05like he knocks them out and then he has to pick him up and take
- 1:04:08some another minute to pick them up and they fell into the puddle
- 1:04:12and what part of Jack Frost? You think it was, it's his hand,
- 1:04:17right? I mean, well, I mean, I don't
- 1:04:21know. To be whatever but his hand
- 1:04:23reaches out and grabs him out, I know that much.
- 1:04:27So they do all managed to get out just in time and then walk
- 1:04:31the other dude, to yeah, he looks Paul out of the cell.
- 1:04:34They all get out just in time. And then the police station been
- 1:04:37trained Burrs been Tremors. How are ya?
- 1:04:39Big explosion? Because the managers shot a man,
- 1:04:44he's like, yeah, fucking did it. He's like, bragging about it.
- 1:04:48Except then, Frost reappears. He's kind of a, he's A little
- 1:04:51bit Picasso dude. Yeah, for the moment.
- 1:04:56So the whole town sees and then they're trying to formulate a
- 1:05:00plan, Stone talks about science a lot.
- 1:05:05They make a plan to force Frost into the furnace of this
- 1:05:10building. We get major Return of the
- 1:05:13Living Dead Vibes because they get him down there.
- 1:05:16They get him into the furnace and blow dryers.
- 1:05:21So I Push him in there. Yeah.
- 1:05:23And because of science evaporation condensation.
- 1:05:28Precipitation etcetera, etcetera.
- 1:05:32It's very circuitous and frost just kind of reappears and he
- 1:05:36kills manners and then he forces himself inside, stun and get
- 1:05:40stone outside in front of the sheriff who is celebrating too
- 1:05:44early and then he like, pukes up and attacks the sheriff.
- 1:05:48And then the sheriff like throws As the oats on him, he have any
- 1:05:53special the special and it melts his face.
- 1:05:57And he looks at Ryan and he said, Ryan, you little shit.
- 1:06:00What did you put these things in Ryan goes?
- 1:06:02Well, I didn't want you to be cold and he was like, what the
- 1:06:04fuck does that mean? What did you do?
- 1:06:07And rangos, I put antifreeze in there.
- 1:06:10What the fuck is wrong with? This kid is so stupid.
- 1:06:15He put fucking antifreeze in there with that big Mash of
- 1:06:18marshmallows. Nobody questioned that they Like
- 1:06:22antifreeze in their kitchen. How did they know?
- 1:06:24Yeah. First of all, why was the
- 1:06:25antifreeze in the kitchen? Yeah, terrible.
- 1:06:27That goes on the trunk of your car.
- 1:06:29Don't let Ryan get anywhere near it.
- 1:06:32The kid. They not gonna do the childproof
- 1:06:35locks on all of the cat. Yes, house.
- 1:06:37This kid cannot be trusted. They, I Hope they've got outlet
- 1:06:40covers and every room. Oh my God.
- 1:06:45This is stupid. So so Sam gets Paul.
- 1:06:48He says go get all he says do you have any fries and In Paul's
- 1:06:51like yeah, just got a big shipment 20% off.
- 1:06:55So he says, go get all of it. Fill your the back of your truck
- 1:06:58with it. Paul goes a step further in
- 1:07:01lines, the back of his truck because he's smart.
- 1:07:03Yeah, so they do that and eventually it ends up with,
- 1:07:09like, frost stabbed Sam at one point, but then Sam is like
- 1:07:12getcha. He, you know, he pulls a yeah,
- 1:07:16he feels like Aaron's dread. He said everybody off and then
- 1:07:19they're like walked inside the Church.
- 1:07:22It doesn't matter. And then, yeah, he he tackles
- 1:07:25him out of the second floor into the bed of the truck into a pool
- 1:07:30of antifreeze. Yeah, Rascals.
- 1:07:33Mm, get some down to like a cookie and tears him apart and
- 1:07:38then he gets out. They take him and they bottle
- 1:07:41them up and they bury him. Yeah.
- 1:07:46I'm like bless the ground. Consecrate the ground or
- 1:07:50whatever? Yeah.
- 1:07:51There's some Something out and then pans in there and it's all
- 1:07:53bubbly. And then there's like a creepy
- 1:07:55cover of silent night that I really love.
- 1:07:57Yeah, yeah. It's kind of creepy and that's
- 1:08:00the end of the movie. Indeed, it is yes, very absurd
- 1:08:04movie. Very strange.
- 1:08:06How do you feel after talking about?
- 1:08:07Oh I still love it. It's very dumb.
- 1:08:11And oh yeah, I I don't hate anything about it other than the
- 1:08:15Jill scene. Yeah, okay.
- 1:08:18So what do you rate it? Now I'm keeping the rating this.
- 1:08:22Okay, I think I'll keep mine at the same to because yeah, I
- 1:08:27mean, I feel pretty much the same.
- 1:08:28I like this movie a while. I love it.
- 1:08:30It's a fun movie. Watch this time of year and it's
- 1:08:35just fun. Um, I think Talia is also going
- 1:08:38to give this movie a Nate, she's gonna agree with you.
- 1:08:42She was sleeping on the couch, but she's seen this before.
- 1:08:45Yeah, yeah. We did a lot of traveling this
- 1:08:47weekend. So yeah.
- 1:08:49So she was very sleepy, very tired.
- 1:08:52But you know there's snow which she loves and bathtubs which she
- 1:08:57hates. So it's all of like, you know, a
- 1:09:00horror movie should have elements that you live in
- 1:09:01elements that you hate and Zoe watched it.
- 1:09:04Oh yeah, she's very cuddly. The whole time she missed having
- 1:09:07movies taken away from her for a few days.
- 1:09:10And there was a big explosion to.
- 1:09:12So it's a good Zoe movie, I think so.
- 1:09:16All right. Got a review, okay?
- 1:09:18But I mean, who did you relate to and do we have a tagline?
- 1:09:21Oh, Yes. Okay, so I relate to the sheriff
- 1:09:28because I was lost a couple of times in this movie and this guy
- 1:09:31is consistently lost, and he's the sheriff.
- 1:09:35See, I'm the person that's supposed to be watching the
- 1:09:37movie, and I miss so many details, then all this shit's
- 1:09:40happening to him and he's not getting it either.
- 1:09:42And I feel like we're both supposed to be able to tell
- 1:09:45what's going on. We're both responsible and we
- 1:09:47both are failing at it. I relate to the deputies who are
- 1:09:53clock in the bigger picture like, you know, Jill losing her
- 1:09:56whole family or the fact that the feds desperately need to be
- 1:09:59punched in the face. Uh-huh.
- 1:10:01So I relate to them. Okay.
- 1:10:05Okay tagline. So we get to create the second
- 1:10:08tagline for this movie. It's a pretty cool story.
- 1:10:12It's a pretty cool story. That's not bad, that's not bad.
- 1:10:18Jack. Frost nipping at your A soul
- 1:10:20that's it. It's got to be Jack Frost
- 1:10:23nipping at something. Your soul your soul.
- 1:10:27Okay, no that's good, that's good, that's really good
- 1:10:29actually thank you. Yeah.
- 1:10:31All right. Yeah review.
- 1:10:32Yeah, okay I poured a negative review half of IMDb so this is
- 1:10:39somebody that rated the two out of ten.
- 1:10:44It's titled so bad. It's good or not really Jack
- 1:10:48Frost is a so bad, it's bad straight-to-video, comedy
- 1:10:52horror, flick about a killer snowman.
- 1:10:54You really don't need to know any more about it than that
- 1:10:57because this is very much a straightforward C Grade B movie
- 1:11:01with W of goofy humor and even goofier deaths, you need to be
- 1:11:06in the mood for some serious cheese and order to be able to
- 1:11:09sit through this. I won't bother going into the
- 1:11:13machine Nation machine Nations, passionate machinations.
- 1:11:18Nations of the convoluted plotting, only to stay.
- 1:11:21Only to say that the story involves the spirit of a dead
- 1:11:24serial killer that ends up inhabiting and inanimate
- 1:11:27objects, similar to the story lines of the gingerbread man or
- 1:11:31the Gingerdead Man. Hey, about or Child's Play.
- 1:11:35But Jack Frost amounts to is a bunch of Ludacris.
- 1:11:38Corey deaths committed at the hands of a Cheesy giant snowman,
- 1:11:42complete with Freddy Krueger style, wisecracks and lots of
- 1:11:45over acting on the part of the victims.
- 1:11:47You even made that connection. Yeah, I was going to say, Travis
- 1:11:50didn't know that. I was making all these
- 1:11:52comparisons to Nightmare on Elm Street and Child's Play in my
- 1:11:55notes. So, yeah, I mean, it's right
- 1:11:58here. Other people are picking up on
- 1:11:59it soon. The production values are rock
- 1:12:01bottom, but I'm used to that. It's the dumb will Brown nature
- 1:12:05of the script, which is so repellent, if they'd at least
- 1:12:08tried to make this witty, and, or engaging than it might have
- 1:12:11had coal success. I'd argue has As it stands, it's
- 1:12:17real chore to sit through, watch out for a youthful.
- 1:12:20Shannon, Elizabeth in one of her first screen appearances.
- 1:12:25Okay, so there is a lot of that, that makes sense.
- 1:12:29I was actually, I don't really disagree with a lot of what he
- 1:12:32was saying. It's just, those are things that
- 1:12:34work for me. Yeah, those are things that we
- 1:12:35like. Yeah, you have to like mean,
- 1:12:37yeah, it's a very subjective kind of thing.
- 1:12:40That's what he said to. He said, you need to be in the
- 1:12:42mood for some serious cheese in order to be able to sit through
- 1:12:45this and we love serious cheese. So it's perfect for us, it's not
- 1:12:50so much for a lot of people. Totally go.
- 1:12:54All right. I've got some listener use.
- 1:12:57Okay, so let's start off on Instagram.
- 1:13:02First off, we have horror fan 1992, so as a fun one, in my
- 1:13:07opinion, kind of a guilty pleasure, in my opinion.
- 1:13:11Okay. Don't be like, it don't ya?
- 1:13:14Yeah. This is a good one.
- 1:13:15Like what you like? This is a safe space to like
- 1:13:17what you like? That's the whole purpose of our
- 1:13:19podcast. Exactly.
- 1:13:20You're in good company here. Yeah.
- 1:13:23Michael Lee Howard. Says, well, I ain't fucking
- 1:13:26Frosty. No, it is not, but it is a hell
- 1:13:29of a lot of Camp. Jack Frost is not perfect by any
- 1:13:32means, but it is a hell of a lot of cheesy fun being my first
- 1:13:35watch. After seeing the cover for years
- 1:13:38I knew it would be an adventure a genetically modified killer
- 1:13:41snowman. Antifreeze peanut butter,
- 1:13:43concoctions incompetent cops and pun field dialogue.
- 1:13:47Make for a great sit down. Winter horror-comedy.
- 1:13:49Watch it often. All right.
- 1:13:52And that neligan yeah, he's always right there with us.
- 1:13:55Although I do have to say, Michael, we established how this
- 1:13:58movie is perfect already so it's perfectly.
- 1:14:01Good has no flaws at all. My has some flaws.
- 1:14:05Yeah. Okay Tucker Perfectly Imperfect
- 1:14:08exactly we have Tucker is as haven't been able to look at
- 1:14:11carrots the same way since you know.
- 1:14:14Yeah well he ain't wrong. Okay, next up on Twitter.
- 1:14:20Johnny Hammond says remember seeing it at the video store but
- 1:14:23I actually never watched it. You should change that.
- 1:14:26It's free on to be, you know, it's free a lot of places.
- 1:14:29Yeah, like you can watch it so easily.
- 1:14:32I recommend especially this time of year.
- 1:14:34Chad says, I like watching it on the last drive in and parts were
- 1:14:37fun but it just feels like it should be a lot more fun than it
- 1:14:41is in. The sequel is nigh unwatchable
- 1:14:44but that's just me. I know folks that absolutely
- 1:14:46love this movie and more power to them.
- 1:14:49That's a good attitude to have about and that is like a
- 1:14:53favorite episode of mine for the last Ivan.
- 1:14:55Yeah. I mean we watch that special
- 1:14:59every Christmas that's probably will put on next week when we
- 1:15:03do. Watch this one again.
- 1:15:05Yeah. Because we'll probably just
- 1:15:07like, watch the whole special. Yeah.
- 1:15:11Yeah. I aside with Darcy I fully
- 1:15:13understand why people don't like this movie.
- 1:15:15I think it's fun. But I also like I was a big fan
- 1:15:19of it before I ever saw it on the last Drive in.
- 1:15:22Yeah, me too. Exactly.
- 1:15:23So I came into it with Lots of like Nostalgia of growing up
- 1:15:27with my trashy taste in movies. Anyway.
- 1:15:30So yeah, we have Kev actually he s Chad says, I think it was more
- 1:15:37fun on the last drive into. They have that effect on some
- 1:15:40bad me. Mediocre movies.
- 1:15:42Oh yeah. There are some movies that I are
- 1:15:44made better by watching it with the drive and xunit some that
- 1:15:47are made worse and some that are just about the same.
- 1:15:50Yeah but different experience I think and if before anybody
- 1:15:53questions me It's the changeling.
- 1:15:56The changeling is made worse by the Driving Experience because
- 1:15:58yeah, already boy a V and it's stretched out even more.
- 1:16:02Yeah, that one. Yeah I couldn't do it.
- 1:16:04I had to watch the movie straight up.
- 1:16:05It made it that much more enjoyable.
- 1:16:07I just can't watch the episode. Okay, Queen being tricks.
- 1:16:13She she's the one that mentioned is this the one where he shovels
- 1:16:19the snow and comes in to eat at Campbell Soup and melts into a
- 1:16:22boy? No, but funny enough it inspired
- 1:16:28this. Yeah, it's funny.
- 1:16:31I had no idea and she liked actually replied with the
- 1:16:35trailer and I watched it before we recorded this was like holy
- 1:16:37shit, I remember this. Now it's a classic.
- 1:16:42Okay. And Joe with flyovers state of
- 1:16:46fear, he says not as fun as it should be as so bad, it's good
- 1:16:50movie. They never really worked for me
- 1:16:52but I wish it did. It also has the most iconic.
- 1:16:55HS cover with the Snowman Changing Faces, he confirmed it
- 1:16:58and changed his face. I knew it, I thought I might be
- 1:17:01crazy, but okay, thank you so much.
- 1:17:04Joe for confirming that. Yes, that is one of the best VHS
- 1:17:07covers in existence. I think that one probably got a
- 1:17:11lot of attention out there. Okay, what's your dream sequel?
- 1:17:16My dream sequel. There is a sequel to this and we
- 1:17:18haven't watched doing here. All right.
- 1:17:21My dream sequel. My dreams equal.
- 1:17:25All right, so obviously he gets out.
- 1:17:29Do we have you gotta have the sheriff back to see what I want.
- 1:17:35Yeah, I want, I want this to be a year-round franchise.
- 1:17:38So, like spring break with the Snowman.
- 1:17:41Yeah. Except instead of snow, it's and
- 1:17:44you do know that that's part of parties, who right now, it's and
- 1:17:47drop. Another thing about part it's
- 1:17:49during the summer, I know, I think, you know, I think it
- 1:17:52might be so the okay. Let's just explain this real
- 1:17:56quick that way. We know what the actual and I
- 1:17:58don't know. We've never done that in the
- 1:17:59past. Okay.
- 1:18:00I do not give a shit with the actual SQL.
- 1:18:02Is this is our dreams. Okay, so you want saying?
- 1:18:04Yeah, okay, I want sand but I want a crossover with
- 1:18:11Beetlejuice. I want the sandworms, okay,
- 1:18:14because I feel like they can like mesh well together with
- 1:18:17Jack Frost, right? Like he can become a sandworm.
- 1:18:19If he wants to, he can just kind of like become one with the sand
- 1:18:23now and he's just like The same word is aren't worms made out of
- 1:18:27sand Travis. Yeah I know but like he can try
- 1:18:32Okay. Okay.
- 1:18:32Okay. Triple cross over.
- 1:18:34Uh-huh, Sandy Jack Frost sandworms graboids.
- 1:18:41Graboids tremors. Oh yeah, that's a good one too.
- 1:18:46Okay, okay. Yeah.
- 1:18:49Alright, let's do that then. So you got three of them right
- 1:18:51there. Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 1:18:52Okay, three movies all in the one Jack, Frost's trimmers.
- 1:18:56And what was the other one Beetlejuice Beetlejuice?
- 1:19:01Yeah. Okay.
- 1:19:02Got three movie crossover, we can do that.
- 1:19:04Okay. Okay, that's it.
- 1:19:09Yeah. All right, that's it.
- 1:19:12So Next week, we have a actually full-blown Christmas movie for
- 1:19:18you guys. We have the original black
- 1:19:21Christmas, we're kind of doing a thing here where we're doing one
- 1:19:26black Christmas movie a year and there's only two left.
- 1:19:30So and if you thought that we had a lot of fun skirting around
- 1:19:34Shannon Elizabeth death in this movie just wait until all of the
- 1:19:37things we avoid talking about next week.
- 1:19:40Oh God. Yeah it and there's a lot of
- 1:19:42like good social. Terry in that movie important to
- 1:19:46note. Now, if you've never seen it,
- 1:19:49this movie is directed by the same man who directed A
- 1:19:51Christmas Story. Mmm, Bop court.
- 1:19:54So that's your fun fact to take with you.
- 1:19:57It is free to watch a million places.
- 1:20:00It's feminist is how it will be, okay?
- 1:20:03It's got feminist themes, but it's like very hard to watch.
- 1:20:06It's like very much shedding light on the situation.
- 1:20:10Yeah, I know. I say it's feminist as how I
- 1:20:15mean. Like, it's nice to see like an
- 1:20:16honest. Depiction of what it's like to
- 1:20:18get that kind of perverted phone call.
- 1:20:23Not only that too but also like how the cops treat them like all
- 1:20:29leg, all of it is it's going to be a good discussion, I'm
- 1:20:31excited for it. So it's free to watch a billion
- 1:20:34places YouTube to be Pluto peacock Redbox crackle Prime
- 1:20:39Plex free V fubo TV with a subscription file.

- 1:20:47subscription or you can rent it from Google Play or Vudu, okay?
- 1:20:51No, excuse to not have seen this.
- 1:20:52Yeah, there's so many ways to watch it.
- 1:20:55I'm not going to say this one's fun for the whole family for a
- 1:20:58mature adult content here. I want to show this to the whole
- 1:21:01family. I wanted to ask you.
- 1:21:02Yeah, you tried to show it to your nana.
- 1:21:04But you really go, it's the same guy who did A Christmas store.
- 1:21:07And I like Travis, you can't show your nana a movie that, in
- 1:21:12the first 30 seconds says the You were 10 times?
- 1:21:14Yes, can't do that. And I always forget about that.
- 1:21:18And I'm like, oh yeah, that's probably not a good thing the
- 1:21:20show if you want. Okay, this is gonna make your
- 1:21:24mom asked where Bobby is, it's Bobby, where is Bobby bring back
- 1:21:29Bob talking about boy, notnot more, Bobby Court.

- 1:23:23Oh, I could see that. Yeah, I can see that being a
- 1:23:26thing.
