- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: The liberal globalist order is on its brink and awakening a new conservative age.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Dr. Steve Turley, join me every day as we discover answers to today's toughest challenges and explore the re-bondalization of conservative civilization.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is Turley Talks.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: American flags waving through the streets crowds gathering in the city center and Donald Trump's face shines above the people.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: Where are we?
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: If you can believe it, some molly land, that's right.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: President Trump and the mega movement are being publicly celebrated in the Horn of Africa.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: But what's unfolding there raises a question far bigger than one African border.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: Stick me the very end of this video because we're going to see how what's happening in the obscure part of the world is actually central to the rise of a civilization with age where more and more populations are fighting for a future they can genuinely call their own.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Hey gang, it's me, Dr. Steve or Patre Professor enjoying it another glorious day in the Trumpian Golden Age that you made possible back in November 2024.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: So if you want a front row seat on how you continue to change the world in ways you never even imagine, make sure to smack that bell and subscribe button.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: We are living in astonishing times and to prove it, you need to look no further than hargaysha, the capital of Somali land.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: Now keep in mind not Somalia, Somali land where a giant outdoor screen displayed President Trump's portrait to cheers of crowds gathered around the city's aircraft monument.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: The celebrations broke out just after President Trump at an Ohio rally, lauded Somali land and recognized it as its own country.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Now, to be clear, it was not a formal declaration.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: Only Israel, the My Knowledge, formally recognized Somali land.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: As a sovereign nation, but Trump did indeed refer to Somali land,
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: as its own country and even differentiated from Somalia for which he has nothing good to say.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: While Trump was criticizing the massive fraud in Minnesota, he paused to distinguish Somali land from Somalia and that brief aside sparked these massive celebrations thousands of miles away.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: So in the end,
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: The excitement is about what President Trump's words might foreshadow.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: Somaliland has been actively pressing its case for American recognition in Washington.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: In September, their President arrived with a high-level delegation that included his foreign affairs, defense and aviation ministers, alongside economic and diplomatic advisors.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: The visit was organized around meetings with U.S. officials,
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: lawmakers and international partners to advance recognition, security cooperation, trade, and investment.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: The government's pitch emphasizes Somali land's democratic stability, decades of self-government,
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's strategic importance along the Red Sea corridor, which has been disrupted of late by the Houthis and Yemen.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: And so the delegation has been presenting recognition of statehood as an opportunity for partnership, not simply diplomatic charity.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Now,
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: To understand why people are celebrating even that possibility, you got to understand what Somali land actually is.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: This territory was once British Somali land, which became independent in 1960.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: But in a matter of just days, literally five days, it united with the newly independent southern territory to form the Somali Republic, which had previously been a territory of Italy.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: So the dream here was Somali Unity, bringing together community sharing language, religion, and a broader cultural inheritance.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: But a shared cultural world did not automatically produce a legitimate political order.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: Power
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: or became increasingly centralized after C.O.D.B.R.A.C.s power in 1969.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: And this dictatorship subjected northern communities, especially the E.Zock, to devastating repression.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: In 1988, government forces bombarded the cities of Hargaysha and Bro, which is Somaliland's second largest city.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: And the campaign was just frankly brutal.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: involves civilian killings, destroyed livelihoods, mass displacement, that aircraft monument in Hargazah where the people were gathered for these Trump rallies.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: It remembers the bombardment of the city.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's not simply a declaration beneath the presidential portrait.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: It helps explain why Somali lands independence movement cannot be understood merely as an argument over administrative boundaries.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: After but raise regime collapse, northern leaders gathered at parole, and declared Somalilans restored independence in May of 1991, and restored as the crucial word in their argument.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: They see themselves as reclaiming the sovereignty they briefly possessed before the 1960 Union, rather than inventing an entirely new country.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: But here's where the story gets even more remarkable.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: Declaring independence was just the beginning, not the accomplishment.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: They still had to build a government people would actually obey, and what they did is what makes this story so significant for a rising civilizationalist world.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: With the mid-terms just weeks away, the legacy media is busy shaping how Americans see this election.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: From selective coverage to politically charged headlines, what gets emphasized or ignored can change the entire narrative.

- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: My favorite feature and one I've used here on the show is the blind spot feed.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: It shows you which stories are blowing up on one side of the aisle, but barely mentioned on the other.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's the clearest way to see media bias in action.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: So for example, here's a story that's getting absolutely no coverage from the left.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's on how the justice department just announced charges.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: on 16 non-citizens for alleged election crimes tied to the 2024 presidential election spanning four different states.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: Now, of course, the right as its blind spots as well, but now you'll know, with every story, Ground News shows you the entire spectrum of whose reporting from left, right, and center how reliable each source is and who owns each outlet.

- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: Somaliland's government blends modern democracy with ancient clan traditions, so voters elect a president and a lower parliamentary chamber while in upper chamber what they call the Gerti or House of Elders represents traditional clan authority.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: Now think of clans,
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: as extended family networks whose elders have historically negotiated agreements, settled disputes, and maintained peace through customary rules passed down through generations.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: Rather than sweeping those relationships aside, Somali land incorporated them in the government.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: elders help negotiate its post-war political settlement and the Constitution gives their chamber special responsibilities concerning religion, culture and security.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: Islamic principles are also shaped the constitutional order.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: So this is not a secular system simply copying Western institutions.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's more like what we have called on this channel a constitutional theocracy.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: The result is an
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: elected politicians operate alongside authorities whose legitimacy comes from community standing and inherited traditions, not just ballots.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: Now while that system help build peace in the region.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: It did also in fairness create some problems.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: The grotesque remain unelected.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: Their legitimacy's tribal, not democratic.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: Their authority doesn't come from votes.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: It comes from cultural tradition.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: And they've used that authority to influence the political makeup of the government there.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: So powerful clans.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: tend to dominate political offices and exercise in ordinate influence on governance.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, Somali land illustrates both the stabilizing power tradition, but also the difficulty of making traditional authority democratically accountable by modern standards.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: Moreover, not everyone within its claimed borders accepts rules from Hargazah, their loyalty still remain with Somalian Mogadishu for whatever reason, but that alone should remind us that Somalian and Somalia are not entirely two separate civilizations.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: Their populations do share deep linguistic religious and cultural connections.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: And that's frankly one of the reasons President Trump appears hesitant to recognize Somali land sovereignty, the African Union, along with Somalia, are not supporters of their sovereignty and so Trump needs all the allies he can get in the Red Sea region as a hedge against the Houthis who are disrupting the free flow of oil.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: That said, Somali land represents a predominantly Islamic people who nevertheless have very close and amicable ties not just with the United States but also and most especially with the nation of Israel.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: Israel was the first nation to recognize Somali land as a sovereign nation.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: So you have here a predominantly Muslim society with close relations with Israel and the United States that hardly fits the simple third-worldest picture, a perpetual war between the West and Islam.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: So when Trump's face lights up in their capital city, those crowds are doing more than cheering in American politician.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: They're expressing the hope that a powerful country might finally accept the political distinction that they've spent a generation defending.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: Weather Washington ultimately does so remains unresolved, but the image captures something larger.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: A new Archaeophutra government demanding the world's diplomatic map answer to the community's actually living beneath it.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: The battle is not just over borders.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's over who has the sovereignty of civilization and the authority that people to claim what historically belongs to them as their own.
