- 0:00Speaker 1: Cameron Parker filling in for Greig Way on this Friday
- 0:02Speaker 1: as we get ready for Texas and Clemson tomorrow. The
- 0:05Speaker 1: College Football Playoff, the first round, the first time in
- 0:09Speaker 1: this new format where we're gonna have on site games
- 0:13Speaker 1: begins tonight Indiana in Notre Dame at Notre Dame Stadium
- 0:18Speaker 1: in South Bend, Indiana. At tomorrow eleven am Penn State
- 0:22Speaker 1: and SMU at State College, Texas Clemson at three, and
- 0:26Speaker 1: then Ohio State and Tennessee in Columbus at seven o'clock tomorrow.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I'm fired up for college game. They are already live right now.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Shane Gillis is the guest picker. It's gonna be a blast,
- 0:37Speaker 1: and our coverage begins tomorrow at noon Longhorns Game Day.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Cameron Parker, myself along with Mike Hardball, Harje and the
- 0:45Speaker 1: world's Strongest man, Mark Henry, gonna have special guests, insiders,
- 0:49Speaker 1: hargest keys to the game, Mark Henry's hype train, some
- 0:53Speaker 1: special players, some special reporters coming up, and we're gonna
- 0:57Speaker 1: course go to visit with Greg Way and Roger Wallas
- 0:58Speaker 1: from the booth at d The last time will be
- 1:01Speaker 1: at DKR, but hopefully not the last time Texas plays
- 1:04Speaker 1: a college football game this season, of course, possibly four
- 1:08Speaker 1: more games remaining if Texas can go all the way
- 1:13Speaker 1: and capture a national championship. Someone who may have played
- 1:17Speaker 1: his last college football game, Carson Beck now being confirmed. Yes,
- 1:21Speaker 1: being reported yesterday last night, but now Matt Sennett's confirming
- 1:24Speaker 1: that Georgia is expecting Carson Beck to miss the remainder
- 1:28Speaker 1: of the year and is expecting to move forward Gunner
- 1:31Speaker 1: Stockton as it's starting quarterbacks. Stockton, of course came in
- 1:35Speaker 1: for Beck against Texas and did enough, did enough to
- 1:39Speaker 1: give Georgia a victory, of course, I mean mostly just
- 1:43Speaker 1: handed the ball off to Trevor Ettien, who just gassed
- 1:45Speaker 1: Texas defensively gashed them rather en route to an SEC
- 1:50Speaker 1: championship victory in overtime over the Longhorns. Carson Beck did
- 1:55Speaker 1: come in on that last play for the handoff the
- 1:58Speaker 1: dagger that gave Georgia the number two seed in the
- 2:01Speaker 1: playoff Texas just number five. But I think looking at
- 2:04Speaker 1: Texas path, we're okay with it.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Now.
- 2:06Speaker 1: George's path is interesting. They'll play the winner of Indiana
- 2:08Speaker 1: Notre Dame with Gunnar Stockton. I think Indiana can pull
- 2:12Speaker 1: an off an upset tonight, we'll see. Then they would
- 2:15Speaker 1: face the winner at Boise State in the winner SMU
- 2:18Speaker 1: Penn State. I think most people like Penn State to
- 2:21Speaker 1: come out of that side. Not too bad of a
- 2:24Speaker 1: match up there. I think you can get by both
- 2:26Speaker 1: those teams without Carson Beck. Butther than Addie will be interesting.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Will it be Oregon, it will be Texas somebody else.
- 2:34Speaker 1: You would think Texas would be dying to face Georgia
- 2:36Speaker 1: a third time, especially with Gunnar Stockton, and you give
- 2:39Speaker 1: pk in Sark a week more to prepare for a
- 2:44Speaker 1: backup quarterback when they were preparing for Carson Beck. I
- 2:46Speaker 1: would give the advantage to Texas, but also I felt
- 2:50Speaker 1: the same way before the first game in the second game,
- 2:54Speaker 1: but hey, maybe third time to charm If it's Oregon,
- 2:56Speaker 1: I just don't see how Georgia can score enough points
- 3:00Speaker 1: to keep up with the pace of Oregon's offense. Ohio
- 3:03Speaker 1: State would be interesting. I've gone back and forth with
- 3:07Speaker 1: who I like in this game tomorrow night. I think
- 3:09Speaker 1: Tennessee's offensive line is good enough to disrupt things, but
- 3:13Speaker 1: depending on Ohio States play calling. For some reason, it's Michigan.
- 3:17Speaker 1: They wanted to try and be the big bad boys
- 3:19Speaker 1: up front. They got demolished by Michigan's d line on
- 3:22Speaker 1: offensive line. Hey, you guys have a bunch of weapons.
- 3:25Speaker 1: You have Jeremiah Smith, maybe the best receiver in college football.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Get him the football chip. Killing Ryan da It's not
- 3:30Speaker 1: that hard, it's not that difficult. You don't have to
- 3:32Speaker 1: be a power rushing attack. If we see that from
- 3:35Speaker 1: Ohio State, I think they can score enough points to Outlastnessee.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I'm not sure about Tennessee's offense. It's been troubling at times.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Get points on the board. I'll see that being a
- 3:46Speaker 1: very close game. I think it'll be Oregon Texas in
- 3:49Speaker 1: semi finals, and I think either one of those teams
- 3:51Speaker 1: can beat a Gunner Stockton led Georgia team in the
- 3:56Speaker 1: National Championship. But of course Texas has to get through
- 4:00Speaker 1: through Clemson first, and that is tomorrow at three o'clock.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Steve sarkisian the media one last time on Thursday last
- 4:09Speaker 1: night to preview this game, and I think sark is
- 4:12Speaker 1: pretty fired up just as you are for Texas and Clemson.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Exciting time for college football, you know, inaugural weekend of
- 4:19Speaker 2: the twelve team college Football Playoff, and to be part
- 4:23Speaker 2: of that, I think is exactly where the University of
- 4:26Speaker 2: Texas is supposed to be. You know, when you talked
- 4:29Speaker 2: about some of the great teams that are in this
- 4:31Speaker 2: playoff and great programs historically, but also some of the
- 4:35Speaker 2: great stories of some other teams that are involved in it,
- 4:37Speaker 2: the fact that that we're one of the teams and
- 4:40Speaker 2: we're getting talked about that way, I know it's exciting
- 4:42Speaker 2: for our players and our staff. I know it's obviously
- 4:45Speaker 2: very exciting for Longhorn Nation. Should be a great environment,
- 4:48Speaker 2: should be a great game at dk R Saturday. You know,
- 4:52Speaker 2: it's one of the values of earning a home field
- 4:54Speaker 2: is getting that home field advantage, and we're gonna need
- 4:56Speaker 2: long hornation like they've been all year, for supporting us,
- 5:00Speaker 2: creating a great amount of energy, creating an intimidating environment,
- 5:04Speaker 2: and then you know, ultimately thats going out and playing
- 5:06Speaker 2: a good football team, football game, I guess a really
- 5:09Speaker 2: good opponent. You know, as I've said earlier in the week,
- 5:11Speaker 2: ton of respect for Davo. The more I continue to
- 5:14Speaker 2: watch his team, you know, the very attack driven operation,
- 5:21Speaker 2: especially on the defensive front, they create explosive plays on
- 5:25Speaker 2: the offensive side of the ball. You know, club Lick
- 5:27Speaker 2: is deadly when he extend, extends the plays, and so
- 5:31Speaker 2: we got to work cut out for us, and it
- 5:33Speaker 2: should be a heck of a battle Saturday.
- 5:34Speaker 1: It will be a sellout tomorrow. Not surprising. It's been
- 5:37Speaker 1: a sell all season long for Texas, especially against Clemson.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Then know it about explosive plays. Mention this on Wednesday show,
- 5:45Speaker 1: and I'll mention it today, I'll mention it tomorrow. Clumps
- 5:48Speaker 1: in offense eleventh in the country in plays of twenty
- 5:52Speaker 1: yards or more, sixth in the country in plays of
- 5:55Speaker 1: thirty yards or more. Now Texas defensively in plays of
- 6:00Speaker 1: twenty or thirty yards more allowed, they're first in the country.
- 6:03Speaker 1: So something's got to give. There will be the Texas
- 6:06Speaker 1: defense lmny Clemson, or will be Clemson able to create
- 6:09Speaker 1: big plays because for Clemson to pall off an upset
- 6:11Speaker 1: here to marrow, folks, it's it's two things. One Texas
- 6:14Speaker 1: turns the ball over multiple times, into Clemson able to
- 6:17Speaker 1: create maybe one or two big plays to withstand Texas. Now,
- 6:24Speaker 1: of course, college football playoff, you're going to have the
- 6:26Speaker 1: college football playoff branding Clemton in town? Is this week
- 6:30Speaker 1: a little bit different in terms of Texas and their preparation?
- 6:34Speaker 2: From my understanding, I think from our perspective, this is
- 6:38Speaker 2: a home game for us, you know, from a timing standpoint,
- 6:43Speaker 2: the way we've gone throughout the week, the way we'll
- 6:46Speaker 2: do pregame warm ups, the way we'll take the field,
- 6:48Speaker 2: the sideline we're on, the uniforms we're wearing, you know,
- 6:51Speaker 2: to us, it's a home game. I'm sure there's probably
- 6:53Speaker 2: a couple other little things from a production standpoint that'll
- 6:57Speaker 2: feel a little more. I guess NCAA driven and maybe
- 7:02Speaker 2: not as much, you know, just ut driven. But I
- 7:04Speaker 2: don't in particulars. I don't really know, because everything that
- 7:07Speaker 2: has come across my plate has been, you know, business
- 7:10Speaker 2: as usual for us.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Of course, Texas played in the playoff this last season.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It's Washington, but obviously a lot longer layoff from the
- 7:17Speaker 1: Big Twelve to the Sugar Bowl that was Texas Washington.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I think was it about two three weeks in between
- 7:23Speaker 1: the Big twelve Toudle game versus the playoff game? Of course,
- 7:28Speaker 1: only two weeks in between Texas Georgia and Texas Clemson.
- 7:32Speaker 1: So did Sark and his staff tweak anything differently coming
- 7:36Speaker 1: back to the playoff in year two?
- 7:37Speaker 2: Well, a little different format right this year. Last year
- 7:40Speaker 2: we had a really long layoff. It'd be like having
- 7:42Speaker 2: the buy that we that we didn't get to have
- 7:46Speaker 2: this year. So we had to tweak it some, you know,
- 7:49Speaker 2: having played in the SEC championship game and then you
- 7:52Speaker 2: turn around and you play again two weeks later. It
- 7:54Speaker 2: was a pseudo bye week. I guess we took it
- 7:57Speaker 2: as but that's probably the really only thing we adjusted
- 8:01Speaker 2: was last week. As we got into this week, it's
- 8:04Speaker 2: been a normal work week for US.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Business as usual for Texas, who have only lost one
- 8:10Speaker 1: home game this year that came to Georgia, but number
- 8:13Speaker 1: twelve Clemson in the building tomorrow, We're gonna hear more
- 8:16Speaker 1: from Sark, including health updates on Isaiah Bond, Kelvin Banks,
- 8:20Speaker 1: and his thoughts on this Clemson defense, Phil MafA, Kate Klebnik,
- 8:25Speaker 1: all of that. As we continue here on the Creigway Show.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Eric Henry four o'clock Gower will stop by and join
- 8:31Speaker 1: us get his thoughts on this game. I'm gonna hear
- 8:33Speaker 1: more from Sark, gonna hear, probably from Vic Schaeffer, but
- 8:35Speaker 1: up next step away from the world of college football
- 8:39Speaker 1: and into the world of golf with Jeff Schokrafer here
- 8:42Speaker 1: on The Creigway Show.
