- 0:53Speaker 2: in the building. Man's put that thing right there.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Appreciate it.
- 0:56Speaker 2: That congratulations. Man, right on bro, I feel like this
- 0:59Speaker 2: has got to be Some people might say this is overdue,
- 1:01Speaker 2: but I feel like it's perfect timing. But how's the
- 1:05Speaker 2: reception been. It's been out about a week now, But.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Honestly, I think I got like more love on this
- 1:10Speaker 1: and fucking music I release, which is crazy.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Do you feel like because you know you have so
- 1:17Speaker 2: much because you actually have a very interesting backstory just
- 1:22Speaker 2: kind of how you came up as a kid and
- 1:23Speaker 2: you know, bouncing back and forth California to Arizona.
- 1:26Speaker 1: And.
- 1:28Speaker 2: But that is the one thing when you you are
- 1:31Speaker 2: like this enigma of like a success in music where
- 1:35Speaker 2: you are a successful rapper by any metric, but you
- 1:40Speaker 2: were able to parlay whatever success you had in the
- 1:43Speaker 2: rap game at the same time you're doing your shit
- 1:46Speaker 2: in the weed game. You end up on Forbes magazine,
- 1:50Speaker 2: and I'm sure it's just the number one thing people
- 1:52Speaker 2: come at you. It's like like I need the game,
- 1:56Speaker 2: I need I need, I need the advice. Like well,
- 1:58Speaker 2: you know, like like it was that the main motivation
- 2:01Speaker 2: for you to finally kind of put a lot of
- 2:03Speaker 2: this stuff out there.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that monks, Like there's been a lot of things
- 2:06Speaker 1: going on with cookies as well, so I wouldn't really
- 2:09Speaker 1: wanted to address it in this book too. Kind of wait,
- 2:11Speaker 1: I'm like, I can go talk about this shit on
- 2:12Speaker 1: podcasts or I can go like a talk shit on
- 2:15Speaker 1: Instagram or Twitter. I'm like, I'm gonna wait and do
- 2:17Speaker 1: this like a real man, and is kind of address
- 2:19Speaker 1: it in my book book list forever, right, Yeah, I
- 2:22Speaker 1: had to take you know, for about three years I've
- 2:24Speaker 1: been taking shit on the chin smear campaigns. People's you know,
- 2:26Speaker 1: narrative of what's going on, what's been happening. So it
- 2:28Speaker 1: was just good to talk about in the book. And
- 2:30Speaker 1: uh if that's that along with like, yeah, when people
- 2:34Speaker 1: see me, they do ask me for advice, like yo,
- 2:36Speaker 1: like I would love to get one piece of advice room,
- 2:38Speaker 1: and I always give it to him monk. I should
- 2:40Speaker 1: probably lay that in the book, you know, can you speak?
- 2:42Speaker 2: I mean, obviously, I know a lot of the lawsuit
- 2:44Speaker 2: stuff is very it. You're in the middle of a
- 2:47Speaker 2: lot of the shit, right and it's got to be
- 2:50Speaker 2: a frustrating thing to like go through all of this
- 2:54Speaker 2: legal stuff. When you'll see headlines pop up on you know,
- 2:57Speaker 2: certain sites or blogs or whatever and probably not be
- 3:00Speaker 2: in the best position to just be as open and
- 3:03Speaker 2: honest with the details as you want to be and
- 3:07Speaker 2: kind of create, you know, steer your narrative, but as
- 3:10Speaker 2: much as you can speak about some of the lost
- 3:12Speaker 2: to suit stuff and the battle for cookies, if you will,
- 3:16Speaker 2: what is essentially the gist of it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Well, first thing first, Like, it's probably the most draining
- 3:22Speaker 1: situation ever see things pop up online. You can't say
- 3:25Speaker 1: anything about it. You have to stay got suck and
- 3:28Speaker 1: people probably don't know that. They probably just think I
- 3:30Speaker 1: don't give a fuck or I'm not whatever. But I
- 3:33Speaker 1: can't say shit about shit, and it sucks. Like I'm
- 3:36Speaker 1: a rap cat dude. I'm a street dude before all
- 3:38Speaker 1: this la. I like to build a dress things when
- 3:40Speaker 1: it happens, so I have to stay quiet. That sucks.
- 3:42Speaker 1: But like I guess the best way to describe and
- 3:45Speaker 1: the best way to speak honest, Like when you build,
- 3:47Speaker 1: some very very big people are and try to take it. Yeah,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and when you look like us, people are gonna try
- 3:53Speaker 1: to take it even more right. And so I've just
- 3:54Speaker 1: been fighting for what's mine. Fighting for what I built,
- 3:57Speaker 1: is trying to keep the brains alive. Everything else is irrelevant.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I'm not really worried about the money side of things
- 4:02Speaker 1: when I just want to keep the brand that we
- 4:04Speaker 1: all kind of built relevant. That's it. Like, Cookies is
- 4:07Speaker 1: a motherfucking it's a thing. Yeah, it's touch the whole world,
- 4:10Speaker 1: not just here in California, not just the United States.
- 4:13Speaker 1: It's touch the whole world. So I just feel like
- 4:15Speaker 1: I got it, especially after the cancer thing. I gotta
- 4:18Speaker 1: see this shit through. And when I say see it through,
- 4:19Speaker 1: I have to make sure Cookies can be and will
- 4:21Speaker 1: be everything it should be. You know, do you.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Because there's obviously Cookies is such a large enterprise, and
- 4:31Speaker 2: the brand extends into so many different areas. I mean,
- 4:34Speaker 2: you know, obviously outside of the dispensary side, the flower side,
- 4:37Speaker 2: the THHCA side, the clothing brand, they're all very separate.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Like whatever is going on, Like if we go to
- 4:46Speaker 2: Zoomies and there's a clothing drop at Zoomi's or your
- 4:50Speaker 2: summer line drops on the clothing side, that's totally separate
- 4:54Speaker 2: from whatever's going on on the dispensary side on the
- 4:58Speaker 2: flower side. Are you essentially because the ip the name Cookies,
- 5:04Speaker 2: are you ever worried that you're going to lose that
- 5:07Speaker 2: or is it more about just because some of the
- 5:09Speaker 2: lawsuits stuff is like to me, it's like it's it's
- 5:11Speaker 2: it's almost like you have a defamation case too, you
- 5:14Speaker 2: could roll with on the other side.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I mean, it's crazy. If when I get through this,
- 5:18Speaker 1: I'm definitely going pursue that because the fuck I've been
- 5:20Speaker 1: dragted to mud It's been insane. But I feel like, yeah,
- 5:24Speaker 1: I mean the eyepiece, it's a Cookies as F No
- 5:27Speaker 1: one ever really knew that, you know, like the IPE
- 5:29Speaker 1: sits at a Cookies SF and I'm a majority owner
- 5:31Speaker 1: of Cookies SF, So I feel like.
- 5:33Speaker 2: You're like eighty eighty five percent something like that, right, Yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah, So you know it's I'm not really worried about
- 5:38Speaker 1: losing the IP, but that's what people are trying to
- 5:40Speaker 1: fight for.
- 5:41Speaker 2: So people are trying because at the end of the day,
- 5:43Speaker 2: it affects I mean, the clothing companies for fifty million
- 5:45Speaker 2: dollars a year or something crazy.
- 5:46Speaker 1: But I went down. Now it's not doing that much anymore,
- 5:48Speaker 1: but it was, yeah, it was, And I feel like
- 5:54Speaker 1: things just need to be consolidated under one and that's
- 5:57Speaker 1: what I'm working on right now.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, don't forget me. Ease dot com. If you're
- 6:01Speaker 2: in southern California, if you're in San Diego, you can
- 6:04Speaker 2: get some of that good smoke. Man. Go to ease
- 6:06Speaker 2: dot com. They're deliver it right to your door. If
- 6:07Speaker 2: you use the promo code Bootleg, you will get thirty
- 6:11Speaker 2: percent off. Look, it's International Women's Month too. They got
- 6:14Speaker 2: all kinds of dope specials going on. The most important
- 6:17Speaker 2: thing is if you're here in La, if you're in Diego,
- 6:19Speaker 2: if you're up north Southern Cali, listen, Ease will deliver
- 6:23Speaker 2: it right to your door and you get thirty percent
- 6:26Speaker 2: off anything you order using our promo code Bootleg. Shout
- 6:29Speaker 2: out to Ease man. Go use that promo code and
- 6:32Speaker 2: get thirty percent off right now. Would you say, because
- 6:36Speaker 2: I mean, I'm obviously coming from the perspective of being
- 6:40Speaker 2: your actual friend in real life, you know, when we
- 6:42Speaker 2: have this discussion. So it frustrates me when I see
- 6:46Speaker 2: people try to like kind of question your integrity or
- 6:49Speaker 2: or like your integrity being questioned in general. Would you say,
- 6:55Speaker 2: it's kind of the genesis of a lot of these issues.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Are just picking the wrong partners, picking the wrong people
- 7:02Speaker 2: to do business with.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Partially picking the wrong investors, but partially just like there
- 7:11Speaker 1: was just thirst when we went legal to be the
- 7:14Speaker 1: one guy that makes it right, like and when we
- 7:16Speaker 1: went legal and UH with propositions in two sixty four,
- 7:19Speaker 1: people everyone was trying to race it to be that
- 7:21Speaker 1: one brand. It's kind of like the dot com era.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Everyone wanted to be that one brand.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Like the trapper version of the dot com era, and.
- 7:29Speaker 1: And people thought there's gonna be this moment where this
- 7:31Speaker 1: one brand gets acquired. So I feel like it's like
- 7:34Speaker 1: the wrong investor, but also like just like the thirst,
- 7:37Speaker 1: are just trying to be to have control that one thing.
- 7:40Speaker 1: For me, it's like you have to think of why
- 7:41Speaker 1: cookies pop. Cookies pop because we have incredible flour, had
- 7:45Speaker 1: a great megaphone. I was the first to do it.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I was putting products in the right people's hands, and
- 7:49Speaker 1: shit was just fucking buzzing and moving. So naturally people
- 7:52Speaker 1: all around wanted to do things. I want to do
- 7:54Speaker 1: this with you. I want to do this with you.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I want to do this with you. I think that
- 7:58Speaker 1: in like in our expansion, while we're trying to build
- 8:00Speaker 1: this thing out, a combination of like picking some of
- 8:03Speaker 1: the wrong people to do certain things for us, and
- 8:06Speaker 1: having the wrong investors that wanted to kind of control
- 8:09Speaker 1: the show and bring in like people that didn't really
- 8:11Speaker 1: make sense to the company. It's kind of got weird.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I think that there was just excitement, there was just thirst.
- 8:16Speaker 1: There was just like energy around cookies. That's like, I've
- 8:20Speaker 1: never seen nothing like that.
- 8:21Speaker 2: It's also something that you've never had to deal with.
- 8:23Speaker 2: It's not like this is like your tenth thing you've
- 8:25Speaker 2: built up.
- 8:26Speaker 1: This is used to I'm used to working and creating.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I always just want to get back to being creative.
- 8:29Speaker 1: That's it.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like too, Like you know, in the book,
- 8:35Speaker 2: to me, everything was very intentional with kind of like
- 8:39Speaker 2: the scarcity exclusivity of cookies. Initially it always felt like
- 8:43Speaker 2: kind of like the supreme of the Wed game, you know.
- 8:47Speaker 2: And I feel like the branding, whether it was like
- 8:50Speaker 2: the blue you picked, how did you come up with
- 8:52Speaker 2: the cookies blue by the way.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Just popped like shout out to Shemp, shout out to
- 8:56Speaker 1: photo doctor. When you made very legend and when you
- 8:59Speaker 1: made the logo, you know, kind of just talking about
- 9:01Speaker 1: the vibe you want to see and when I seen
- 9:02Speaker 1: that blue. I'm like, that's it.
- 9:05Speaker 2: It's like distinct, It's a distinct blit.
- 9:07Speaker 1: It was the way that the blue popped on the
- 9:09Speaker 1: black hoodie with them blue strings on it. Like I
- 9:11Speaker 1: found the same exact color on the string that mister
- 9:14Speaker 1: Fat laces the fat laces, and so I'm like, that
- 9:16Speaker 1: shit just looks incredible on the black and Pops is friendly.
- 9:19Speaker 1: It looks familiar, go ahead and wrong.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I always tell people when they're looking to see if
- 9:23Speaker 2: they're Cookies hoodies fake, I always say what color the strings.
- 9:26Speaker 2: It was very hard for you to find like a
- 9:28Speaker 2: black Cookies hoodie with a black strings.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Like yeah, man, we're probably like the number one bootleg
- 9:36Speaker 1: brand in the world.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I feel like like that, dude, it's up there. Man.
- 9:39Speaker 1: There was times where like Homeland Security would hit us
- 9:42Speaker 1: up and say we got like a whole ship it
- 9:43Speaker 1: container full of fucking this and that. God damn, Like
- 9:46Speaker 1: people have just been people made and that's the thing.
- 9:49Speaker 1: The cookies made a lot of people money, whether people
- 9:51Speaker 1: got the cuts back in the days, whether people were
- 9:53Speaker 1: partner with us and doing their thing, whether people raise
- 9:56Speaker 1: money under their name, whether people are bootlegging, like we
- 9:59Speaker 1: made a lot fucking people money, going back to like
- 10:02Speaker 1: the exclusivity, Like that's all I'm doing now, Like all
- 10:05Speaker 1: I ever wanted to do is create some of the
- 10:07Speaker 1: best herb to share with people and and put it
- 10:10Speaker 1: in the right people's ants, Like I want people to
- 10:11Speaker 1: enjoy good herb. And I feel like right now, as
- 10:13Speaker 1: I rebuild my shit, so about a small batch, really
- 10:18Speaker 1: really good menu, and if you get it, you get it,
- 10:21Speaker 1: and if you enjoy it, you love it, then you're
- 10:23Speaker 1: blessed to be able to get it. When you get it.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I feel like no one really wants mass produced, at
- 10:27Speaker 1: least when it comes to flour. You know what I'm saying.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I think like I mean, you could speak to
- 10:30Speaker 2: it because you just said it yourself, like as you
- 10:32Speaker 2: rebuild this, because I don't feel like you guys ever
- 10:34Speaker 2: really win anywhere. But obviously know that, Like I kind
- 10:38Speaker 2: of know more than most people about kind of what's
- 10:40Speaker 2: been going on. But there is kind of like in
- 10:44Speaker 2: the same way there is in the rap game, Cookies
- 10:46Speaker 2: has kind of turned into like the Coca Cola weed,
- 10:49Speaker 2: if you will, Like you were the biggest brand, right
- 10:52Speaker 2: and it got to the point where if you painted
- 10:56Speaker 2: a failing dispensary the right color blue and put a
- 10:59Speaker 2: sign on there. It became an unfailing it became a
- 11:03Speaker 2: successful place.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Okay, so yeah, but not yeah. So basically like some
- 11:07Speaker 1: of the partners, and we have incredible partners around the nation,
- 11:10Speaker 1: I love them, want to show respect to them. I'm
- 11:11Speaker 1: super juice that we're able to work with so many
- 11:13Speaker 1: dope people. But there's a few bad seats. I thought
- 11:15Speaker 1: that they just painted the building blue would work, like
- 11:18Speaker 1: they didn't really think about providing the right product, the flower,
- 11:22Speaker 1: having the right experience. And so that was the battle
- 11:25Speaker 1: of mind. When you're when you're expanding so fast, when
- 11:27Speaker 1: you're trying to go in hyper growth mode, you have
- 11:29Speaker 1: to do things that sometimes doesn't make sense for your
- 11:31Speaker 1: heart but makes sense for the brand. And also in
- 11:34Speaker 1: the last few years, I didn't really have control the
- 11:36Speaker 1: way I wanted to. I could confidently say now for
- 11:39Speaker 1: right now, at least, the controls back in my hands,
- 11:41Speaker 1: and the focus is very simple, new menu, quality and less.
- 11:47Speaker 1: That's all I want to do. That's all I want
- 11:48Speaker 1: to do. Like we've already planted a flag the whole
- 11:50Speaker 1: world know what the cookies is. Right to go now
- 11:53Speaker 1: is to go back and down the shit in every
- 11:54Speaker 1: single market.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Yeah, because because for you, the hardest and most frustrating
- 11:58Speaker 2: part is a weak con source to know that like
- 12:00Speaker 2: there it's hard to do quality control when you have
- 12:03Speaker 2: so many different partners that have their own cultivations and
- 12:06Speaker 2: you're trusting the weed quality in a lot of people's
- 12:12Speaker 2: hands well throughout the country.
- 12:14Speaker 1: You know what the problem is. It's like, we have
- 12:16Speaker 1: incredible partners around the country. There's people growing incredible weed
- 12:19Speaker 1: for us, I think with the biggest problem for us
- 12:20Speaker 1: is like trying to be the first in the market
- 12:22Speaker 1: that only had limited licenses and like somewhere like can
- 12:26Speaker 1: like Baton Rouge or something like that. There's only two
- 12:29Speaker 1: growers two and they don't And if you want, if
- 12:35Speaker 1: you want to have your brand present to be first
- 12:37Speaker 1: in that market, you have to kind of just to
- 12:39Speaker 1: partner with people have to do it.
- 12:40Speaker 2: There's only two growers, you understand, there's two two options
- 12:43Speaker 2: of and and they don't.
- 12:45Speaker 1: They might think the same way we think about quality
- 12:47Speaker 1: about what flowers are like, So now I'm I'm like, okay,
- 12:50Speaker 1: we've seen what happens when that happens like that, we
- 12:53Speaker 1: need to be in every single market first, or do
- 12:55Speaker 1: we need to find the best partners or wait for
- 12:57Speaker 1: the best situation to represent our brand properly. Right when
- 13:00Speaker 1: you have investors and we have things like that, they
- 13:02Speaker 1: want to push you to, well, you certain numbers.
- 13:04Speaker 2: You have to hit.
- 13:05Speaker 1: It's like you got to come on. But now it's like, Okay,
- 13:08Speaker 1: let's just sit back. Let's just make sure the brand
- 13:09Speaker 1: is supposed to be. And that's all I really care
- 13:11Speaker 1: about right now. But when you go into a market
- 13:13Speaker 1: that doesn't have like seasoned cultivators, it's not because we
- 13:16Speaker 1: don't know how to grow weed. It's like we're licensing
- 13:18Speaker 1: our brand out, trying to be in the first in
- 13:20Speaker 1: a certain market. And when you do that, you're in
- 13:22Speaker 1: jeopardized quality.
- 13:23Speaker 2: It happens.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And I feel like, if it was up to me
- 13:26Speaker 1: at that time, I maybele to focus on manufactured problems.
- 13:28Speaker 1: This is some really good pens, some really good pre rolls,
- 13:31Speaker 1: but like, let's wait to drop the flower until's one
- 13:33Speaker 1: hundred percent out. And that's the thing I can sleep
- 13:35Speaker 1: at night now knowing is like it's back in my
- 13:37Speaker 1: hands as of right now. So focus on quality, bro.
- 13:40Speaker 2: That's it. What about because you would obviously like you
- 13:43Speaker 2: and I had a lot of discussions about trying to
- 13:46Speaker 2: get dispensaries going in certain places, Phoenix one of them.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Now you have one in Phoenix. Shout out to the Nirvana.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Nirvana had it for a little bit, but now I'm
- 13:55Speaker 1: partnering with Ethan. We have the helfare. Yeah, we have
- 13:58Speaker 1: cookies Tampede, which is.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Right by Arizona Mills.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah, now we dialing. Then we're about started doing Delhi
- 14:03Speaker 1: style so you could partly out the jar right there.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Fire we have a fire ass cultivator lockdown. We have
- 14:08Speaker 1: new menu going so about three months cookies as he's
- 14:10Speaker 1: about be turned around.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Right by easy mals Man.
- 14:13Speaker 1: We got to know the location of Phoenix coming soon too.
- 14:16Speaker 1: But that's the cool thing is like even in New Jersey,
- 14:18Speaker 1: like we're dialing in the Flower in New Jersey. Got
- 14:20Speaker 1: some incredible partners. But you would have like other options.
- 14:22Speaker 2: You'd be like, hey, we could do a lemonade or
- 14:24Speaker 2: we could do like is lemonade still a thing that
- 14:28Speaker 2: you're it's a thing, But I want to turn that
- 14:30Speaker 2: back to what it was supposed to be.
- 14:31Speaker 1: That was supposed to be like a sativa based menu
- 14:33Speaker 1: with like very very flavorful sativa. That was what it
- 14:36Speaker 1: was supposed to be, not like a whole concept of
- 14:38Speaker 1: stores and stuff.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Right right, right, right right now. That makes sense, man,
- 14:42Speaker 2: So you end up getting your your your mom passes away. Yep,
- 14:49Speaker 2: he was your mom's birthday on eleven eleven? Or was
- 14:51Speaker 2: that the day she passed?
- 14:52Speaker 1: Eleven eleven is a birthday?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Her birthday?
- 14:53Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Yeah, So your mom passes away from cancer. Obviously terrible
- 15:00Speaker 2: thing to lose a parent of cancer. I know it
- 15:02Speaker 2: affected you a lot. You get left with whatever's left
- 15:06Speaker 2: in her IRA account. I believes, like nineteen k it.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Was thirty g's. But if I cash out at the time,
- 15:12Speaker 1: it'd only be nice. You get hit with the capital
- 15:14Speaker 1: gains and early taxation early shit, Yeah, pulling out.
- 15:17Speaker 2: So you end up with nineteen thousand dollars? Right, how
- 15:20Speaker 2: do you dispense as a young guy who'd already kind
- 15:24Speaker 2: of been trapping and you know, doing your thing is
- 15:29Speaker 2: the nineteen thousand dollars invested? Like, how do you invest
- 15:32Speaker 2: that nineteen grand? Is it studio time? Is it?
- 15:34Speaker 1: Yeah? So like I'll tell you exactly how I invest it.
- 15:36Speaker 1: So basically, like people just think that maybe I just
- 15:40Speaker 1: got this nineteen g's and started cookies. Now it was
- 15:42Speaker 1: housing hard. And what was happening at my life at
- 15:45Speaker 1: that time was the FEDS were pulling me off the planes.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Would you also had like money in a back in
- 15:49Speaker 1: your backyard? Yeah, bro was usting like every other trapper.
- 15:52Speaker 1: But what happened is I took a serious series of losses.
- 15:55Speaker 1: And that's why it kind of reminds me of like
- 15:57Speaker 1: with the position I'm in right now in life.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Because I can't already have done that on a small sho.
- 16:01Speaker 1: So back then at that time, I took a series
- 16:03Speaker 1: of losses. Yeah, I got series of losses. So when
- 16:08Speaker 1: of the spots got robbed, lost some shit utransit had
- 16:13Speaker 1: dea fucking with me at the airport, had people pulled
- 16:16Speaker 1: me off the planes counting my money right there in
- 16:18Speaker 1: the airport. Shit was getting hot, right. I invested a
- 16:21Speaker 1: bunch of money in music. I took that last little
- 16:23Speaker 1: twenty bands I had buried my mom's spot and put
- 16:25Speaker 1: into the Yoko record with Chris Brown, right, big Grit,
- 16:29Speaker 1: And so I was like, okay, yeah, big Krit, Chris Brown, Whiz.
- 16:31Speaker 1: So I was like, okay, now here I am with
- 16:33Speaker 1: zero money left, right, shits I can't keep trapping no more.
- 16:36Speaker 1: That's exactly when I walked away. I'm like, I'm done,
- 16:38Speaker 1: it's over right, And I was like, what do I do? Right?
- 16:42Speaker 1: So I'm sitting there, I've got baby money, I'm playing
- 16:44Speaker 1: with you. I And this is just when I got
- 16:46Speaker 1: some crazy ass information that was really really bad. It's
- 16:49Speaker 1: like this a siding factor for me walking away, and
- 16:52Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, what do I do now? Like I
- 16:53Speaker 1: got music I put out, it's not really paying, Like
- 16:56Speaker 1: it's cool. I got all these albums done, Like what
- 16:58Speaker 1: do I do now? And my brother hear me like, look,
- 17:00Speaker 1: you know mom left this as IRA. It's about thirty bands.
- 17:03Speaker 1: You can just you know, sit on it into a
- 17:05Speaker 1: certain date and cash it, or you can cash it
- 17:07Speaker 1: early and probably take a little bit extra bread. So
- 17:10Speaker 1: I'm okay, do I cash his little bread and go
- 17:12Speaker 1: recop and start building up again. I'm like nah, because
- 17:14Speaker 1: I already know shit's hot and music. I already did
- 17:17Speaker 1: a bunch of music. So I was like, you know,
- 17:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna go put this into the bank acount and
- 17:21Speaker 1: try the clothing again. At this time, i'd done clothing.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I tried to do cookies, clothing, but I pressed up
- 17:25Speaker 1: the wrong sizes. I made terrible designs. I did a
- 17:29Speaker 1: bunch of women's clothing and didn't sell it all. So
- 17:31Speaker 1: I was like, do I try it again with the clothing.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I'm like, fuck, I think I give it a shot again.
- 17:36Speaker 1: And I just launched a Yoko with you, like literally
- 17:38Speaker 1: like a week before video too, and I was wearing
- 17:40Speaker 1: that the cookies demon right, and I want to go
- 17:43Speaker 1: sit down with this guy, what's his name. It's like Mazzi, Mazzie, Mazzie,
- 17:47Speaker 1: you know the kid. He's like a tech dude from
- 17:49Speaker 1: the Bay. He has a ponytail. He works with some rappers,
- 17:52Speaker 1: and shit, I want to go sit down with him.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I never gave him his props on this, so I'm
- 17:55Speaker 1: a given now. And I'm like, bro, what do I
- 17:58Speaker 1: do with the clothing? I was like, you know what
- 17:59Speaker 1: you need to do? Limited expensive? He said, the one
- 18:04Speaker 1: day you were just wearing in that video, do one
- 18:06Speaker 1: hundred hoodies for one hundred bucks. I'm like, really, fuck,
- 18:09Speaker 1: I can't even sell fucking five of these for fucking
- 18:12Speaker 1: thirty five bucks. He's like, ex, it's not packaged, right,
- 18:15Speaker 1: I'm like, you know what? Fuck it? So I went
- 18:17Speaker 1: to printed the blue hoodie, the black hoodie with the blueprint,
- 18:20Speaker 1: pulled the blue strings to I put on my Instagram,
- 18:22Speaker 1: I'm gon do one hundred these for one hundred bucks tomorrow,
- 18:24Speaker 1: ten am boom go on ten bands. And I started
- 18:28Speaker 1: running that program. I said, I did the red one,
- 18:29Speaker 1: I did the gray one, I did the Raiders color way.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Sold out in thirty seconds, one hundred of them. Wow.
- 18:34Speaker 1: And I ran that up until I got to one
- 18:36Speaker 1: hundred grand. And that's how it started moving. And so
- 18:38Speaker 1: it was like, it's weird because I already had money.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I was already getting money. And right around that time
- 18:43Speaker 1: when the clothing started popping, gets what started popping too?
- 18:47Speaker 1: The weed shit, the music shit, the music shit. Yeah,
- 18:49Speaker 1: God bless me, Bro, the universe blessed me. As soon
- 18:51Speaker 1: as the clothing started working, music, money start happening.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean at that point in time, like you're by,
- 18:57Speaker 2: I would assume around the time the clothing starting to
- 18:59Speaker 2: take off. The Taylor Gang relationship is more so, everything
- 19:02Speaker 2: started happening at once, right because right after that video
- 19:05Speaker 2: with crit I started.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Building with the Whiz and when he signed me, my
- 19:07Speaker 1: shit started getting nosed a little more so I felt
- 19:09Speaker 1: like shows started happening. I was getting paid to come
- 19:12Speaker 1: to Kansas City, to come to Ohio, to do shit
- 19:14Speaker 1: in Fresno. I was like, I started to making like
- 19:17Speaker 1: cool iTunes checks, you know what I'm saying. My check
- 19:19Speaker 1: started becoming like twenty grand a month. I'm my damn.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Everything kind of fell in place. But that nineteen G's
- 19:23Speaker 1: was a catalyst for me to go ahead and print
- 19:25Speaker 1: up those hoodies and to do those limited hoodie drops
- 19:28Speaker 1: and just go crazy with it. And that's that's how
- 19:30Speaker 1: exactly I flipped that shit. Wow. So the finding it like,
- 19:34Speaker 1: were you're getting printed locally in the Bay? Hell yeah, yeah,
- 19:38Speaker 1: that's fire.
- 19:38Speaker 2: So you said you had got a little bit of
- 19:40Speaker 2: information that had kind of given you some foresight not
- 19:45Speaker 2: to go back into the trapping side. Was it like
- 19:48Speaker 2: that that the boys were on you tough?
- 19:50Speaker 1: Well, I mean they were there. They're fucking me at
- 19:52Speaker 1: Laxa this day. I do not fly in LX. I
- 19:55Speaker 1: hate it when I have to. But they were pulling
- 19:56Speaker 1: me off the plane every time I go through lax
- 19:59Speaker 1: and also in the Bay, and they pulled me off
- 20:02Speaker 1: the plane, they go through my bags. They tell me
- 20:03Speaker 1: they knew certain things about certain people, and I was like,
- 20:06Speaker 1: what are you guys doing this in public for? Like,
- 20:07Speaker 1: they're not putting me in the back room. It's not
- 20:09Speaker 1: like they're arresting me. They're just fucking me hard. The
- 20:11Speaker 1: information on got kind of just confirmed that shit was
- 20:13Speaker 1: just all bad, right, that they they thought they knew something.
- 20:16Speaker 1: They were totally wrong. If you're giving them, if you
- 20:18Speaker 1: if you keep kind of giving them reasons to sniff
- 20:21Speaker 1: around like me and you know, yeah, dad, assumptions about
- 20:24Speaker 1: what I was doing, they're completely off. They're completely wrong.
- 20:26Speaker 1: And it was just a good warning sign for me, like, look,
- 20:29Speaker 1: they don't know what you're up to, but they're definitely interested,
- 20:31Speaker 1: so you might as well step the fuck away.
- 20:33Speaker 2: We got to get a shout out to our new sponsor,
- 20:35Speaker 2: Raffie Law Group. Listen, I don't partner with just anybody.
- 20:38Speaker 2: And if you're from Arizona, all my as people who
- 20:41Speaker 2: are watching y'all know, call Raffi Raffi Raffi Law Group.
- 20:45Speaker 2: They treat you like family, which is why I decided
- 20:49Speaker 2: to partner with them. Man, it only makes sense. The
- 20:52Speaker 2: best law group in as they've helped over seventy thousand
- 20:55Speaker 2: folks in Arizona and listen, it's pretty easy. Whatever happens,
- 21:00Speaker 2: car accidents, car crashes, injuries, whatever, they handle it. My
- 21:03Speaker 2: wife actually got into an accident, this was like five
- 21:06Speaker 2: or six years ago. Uh, they handled her case. She
- 21:10Speaker 2: got paid out. It was super painless, it was super seamless.
- 21:14Speaker 2: The team was incredible. And when I tell you, man,
- 21:17Speaker 2: it's like a real family atmosphere over there. This is
- 21:19Speaker 2: not like just some random billboard lawyer or some bus
- 21:21Speaker 2: stop lawyer. No, it's a real team, all right. So
- 21:24Speaker 2: make sure you go support Raffie Law Group. And don't
- 21:26Speaker 2: forget you get into an accident, any sort of personal injury,
- 21:29Speaker 2: car crash, whatever, make sure you call RAFFI right now.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Six two three three eight eight forty three thirty three.
- 21:36Speaker 2: That's six two three three eight eight four three three three,
- 21:40Speaker 2: call RAFFI. It's You were already a thing in the
- 21:42Speaker 2: Bay before this Yoko record, right for sure. You had
- 21:45Speaker 2: full albums with MESSI, Marv JACKA. Was that were you
- 21:51Speaker 2: able to cause? I mean, if you think back to
- 21:53Speaker 2: that kind of like nine twenty ten like era of
- 21:56Speaker 2: like the Bay, like people are still buying CDs. I'm
- 21:59Speaker 2: sure you have, but some sort of distribution.
- 22:02Speaker 1: No school, I was fucking with City Hall Records and Ghazia.
- 22:05Speaker 1: It took me from Ingrus to Empire. But the thing
- 22:07Speaker 1: I was like that was like my hypergrowth mode. Back then,
- 22:09Speaker 1: I was like putting the money into the music. I
- 22:12Speaker 1: was paying for good beats, paying for good covers, paying
- 22:14Speaker 1: for good features, like I was putting money into it.
- 22:16Speaker 1: So whatever love of money I made was kind of
- 22:18Speaker 1: obsolete because I always put more than I was making
- 22:20Speaker 1: into the projects. But by the time all the shit
- 22:23Speaker 1: started hitting, whether it be the clothing of the situation,
- 22:25Speaker 1: whiz or just whatever, all that money I put in
- 22:27Speaker 1: started paying off big time.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Was the White Album, like the first album where you
- 22:32Speaker 2: were like getting some decent rap money, Yeah, because that
- 22:36Speaker 2: was like twenty twelve.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, White Album, like right after weekend at Bernie's,
- 22:40Speaker 1: Like that shit kind of kicked in with the White
- 22:41Speaker 1: Album started getting paid. Yeah, forty six albums, I think
- 22:45Speaker 1: like forty six, four seven like that, and now yeah,
- 22:48Speaker 1: it's over forty five. Recently you got offered I think
- 22:52Speaker 1: ten million dollars for your catalog.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I know you haven't like get your label Chowders here,
- 22:58Speaker 2: who's on Burn one a lot of people like, would
- 23:03Speaker 2: you know I think I think, by the way, a
- 23:04Speaker 2: ten million dollar evaluation on independent catalog, it's amazing, bro,
- 23:08Speaker 2: it's incredible.
- 23:08Speaker 1: If the kid back then that was fucking taking everything
- 23:11Speaker 1: he made from tree and everything else he was doing
- 23:13Speaker 1: to put into albums just to have fun making music,
- 23:15Speaker 1: knew I can get ten million dollars from that, even
- 23:18Speaker 1: though the guy I am now, ten million dollars is
- 23:20Speaker 1: not a little check. And it was really really hard
- 23:23Speaker 1: for me not to do it. And I guess what
- 23:25Speaker 1: the deciding factor was was that, like I lose my
- 23:29Speaker 1: I lose my control over like certain things, little things
- 23:32Speaker 1: like if I saw my catalog for Tamil, the company
- 23:35Speaker 1: I was gonna buy, it would not allow me to
- 23:36Speaker 1: use music in my recap vlogs or like and things
- 23:39Speaker 1: like that anymore, which is crazy. Or like if if
- 23:42Speaker 1: I was gonna do like a content for cookies, like
- 23:43Speaker 1: a new product with these, I couldn't even use the
- 23:45Speaker 1: beat in the background anymore.
- 23:46Speaker 2: So like you're gonna be able to use your own
- 23:48Speaker 2: songs in your shit.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And we have such a good catalog as far as
- 23:51Speaker 1: like beats going, like we love to use my beats
- 23:53Speaker 1: for all the cookie shit we do. I'm like, he sure,
- 23:55Speaker 1: you don't want to let me use that. It's only
- 23:56Speaker 1: you bring more attention to Caldier than you can't use that.
- 23:59Speaker 1: You have to ask us first. So it wasn't I
- 24:00Speaker 1: couldn't use it, but I have to ask every single time.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I'm like, you know what, I want ten million dollars,
- 24:06Speaker 1: but in California, ten million dollars are really only five
- 24:08Speaker 1: million dollars.
- 24:10Speaker 2: And then you know, yeah, it's not I mean, at
- 24:12Speaker 2: a point in time, it's like you'd rather just get
- 24:14Speaker 2: that residual check every month.
- 24:16Speaker 1: And then you have to think that the ten million
- 24:17Speaker 1: dollars is based on like a ten year projection, so
- 24:20Speaker 1: I'm making like a million year off my music anyway.
- 24:22Speaker 1: So it's like, okay, I guess what really put in
- 24:24Speaker 1: perspective is like my son's only two at the time,
- 24:27Speaker 1: he's only one, So I'm like, in ten years it'll
- 24:28Speaker 1: be eleven, he'll be eleven, and that means like that
- 24:32Speaker 1: he'll never see music off my work again and see
- 24:34Speaker 1: money off my work again.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Yeah, even if that million dollars goes those down one
- 24:38Speaker 2: hundred kro whatever, whatever, it's the principle and that's what
- 24:42Speaker 2: they try to tell me, like, you know, look, we're
- 24:43Speaker 2: looking at catalogs.
- 24:44Speaker 1: You know, every year to kind of a little like
- 24:46Speaker 1: you know what, that's flying, bro.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Because you're also going to keep putting music out.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Yeah, And also like I like to think that I'll
- 24:51Speaker 1: be successful in the film space and like things like
- 24:54Speaker 1: that I could use my music to score a film.
- 24:56Speaker 1: And like, I'm like, I'm not gonna sell this shit
- 24:58Speaker 1: for ten million dollars right now? Was it hard? Do
- 25:01Speaker 1: I think about your day? Hell? Fucking yeah?
- 25:03Speaker 2: I mean I feel like too, man, Like you're I
- 25:06Speaker 2: feel like, at this point in time, you do music
- 25:10Speaker 2: because you love it. Yeah, for sure, passion theretic for you,
- 25:12Speaker 2: it's therapy for you, and you're kind of to me,
- 25:15Speaker 2: it's like kind of like your escape from all this
- 25:17Speaker 2: other funck shit you gotta do with sure a billion
- 25:19Speaker 2: dollar company, And like, I don't know, man, I feel
- 25:22Speaker 2: like I feel like a lot of artists, if they
- 25:26Speaker 2: need it, they should take it. But you don't need it.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Nah? So did I did think about this on some
- 25:31Speaker 1: business mansion? Like I could take that ten million dollars
- 25:33Speaker 1: and make it into probably thirty or forty pretty easily, right, Like,
- 25:40Speaker 1: but I'm like, I want my son to get a
- 25:43Speaker 1: rap check one day. I want him to like inherit
- 25:46Speaker 1: my empire, but like have that residual coming in from
- 25:49Speaker 1: music one day. I want my daughter Janelle, who's been
- 25:52Speaker 1: there through all this. She used to be in the
- 25:53Speaker 1: background in the Roman making the White album. She saw
- 25:56Speaker 1: me make music. If she saw me going tours when
- 25:58Speaker 1: she was a kid, I was actually away a lot
- 26:00Speaker 1: because I had to make music and move around. She
- 26:02Speaker 1: should benefit from that.
- 26:03Speaker 2: You should benefit from the sacrifice that you had to
- 26:04Speaker 2: take care. You don't do a lot of vinyl drops.
- 26:08Speaker 1: I need to do more.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Bro. I feel like if every time there's like an
- 26:11Speaker 2: anniversary for an album, you did like a limited run
- 26:14Speaker 2: of yeah, because people.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Buy them, Like I signed a lot of vinyls for sure.
- 26:17Speaker 2: If you did, like, okay, you know, I don't know
- 26:21Speaker 2: what are we approach it. It's the twenty six what
- 26:24Speaker 2: I'm you dropping twenty sixteen packs? Yeah? If you did
- 26:27Speaker 2: like a packs like cookies blue Vinyl, like sell five
- 26:32Speaker 2: hundred of them?
- 26:32Speaker 1: Dog do what that? Yeah? I feel like also, I've
- 26:35Speaker 1: been so distracted with cookies and everything's I've never had
- 26:37Speaker 1: a chance to really work my catalog.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Yeah, because the rap game, like your catalog is, there's
- 26:41Speaker 2: must be chunked on the table.
- 26:42Speaker 1: And then you know what else? You know what else
- 26:44Speaker 1: I thought about, like the Rest in Peace? Did Jacka
- 26:46Speaker 1: and Young Dolph and all the people I worked with
- 26:48Speaker 1: that are no longer around. DMX. I got a record
- 26:50Speaker 1: with DMX. It's like, I don't want to sell that shit, bro,
- 26:53Speaker 1: Just hold on to it, man, Yeah, it's it's important
- 26:56Speaker 1: to me.
- 26:58Speaker 2: What did you ever because you're you know, most people
- 27:03Speaker 2: don't get any songs with Chris Brown, let alone multiple
- 27:06Speaker 2: songs with Chris Brown. Christ what was that relationship like?
- 27:09Speaker 2: And did you ever try to bring him into the
- 27:12Speaker 2: weed game at all?
- 27:13Speaker 1: No, it was not ever's for some reason, me and
- 27:16Speaker 1: Chris were just cool. Like I paid him that one
- 27:18Speaker 1: time for that first feature.
- 27:19Speaker 2: What was the Yoko bag?
- 27:21Speaker 1: Twenty bands? It's not bad man, back then, I had
- 27:27Speaker 1: him for that in the video, So twenty bands back then?
- 27:30Speaker 2: Then he ends up on Urban Farmer too, I think.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Yeah, So like it was like we built from there.
- 27:35Speaker 1: And his cousins were hella cool. You know what I'm saying.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Shout out to Keys and Twine, like they were just
- 27:39Speaker 1: hella cool and like we were just vibing around, smoking
- 27:42Speaker 1: bud and hanging out and shit like that. And so
- 27:44Speaker 1: after we did Yoko, everything else we did was just
- 27:46Speaker 1: on the love. Like even like recently I released a
- 27:49Speaker 1: record called what I call it? It was me and
- 27:51Speaker 1: him and Whiz. It was crazy. He used to be
- 27:54Speaker 1: called Batman. I don't think that's what it was called.
- 27:55Speaker 1: I forgot what it was called. But that fool was
- 27:57Speaker 1: just as cool as fuck as it. Yeah, I got you,
- 28:00Speaker 1: Oh good release it, you know. So he's he's been
- 28:02Speaker 1: a super good dude to work with. He's a hell
- 28:04Speaker 1: of talented and uh, I'm glad he wrapped up my
- 28:07Speaker 1: shit because he snapped on that. He was incredible.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Man, He's like our Michael Jackson.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 28:11Speaker 2: And it's kind of crazy, like full just will do
- 28:13Speaker 2: records with like people he foxed.
- 28:14Speaker 1: With, Like I was, I deserve all those Chris Bawn records,
- 28:18Speaker 1: those fucking records for fire Dude.
- 28:19Speaker 2: You when you and Nipsey did wax Room, was that
- 28:22Speaker 2: a paid feature or was that natural thing? Now?
- 28:24Speaker 1: It was natural? Man, Nick Nipsey is cool as fuck.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Man recipes to Nipsey. He was one of the few
- 28:30Speaker 1: rappers that ever gave me props on my music. Everyone
- 28:32Speaker 1: else say we ship whatever. He was like, man, you
- 28:35Speaker 1: shit is dope. Like he also gave me propsing he
- 28:38Speaker 1: told me that, you know, one of the last thing
- 28:39Speaker 1: he told me. He's like, you did for the world
- 28:41Speaker 1: cookies what Dre did for the word chronic facts. He's like,
- 28:44Speaker 1: that's big. I'm like, damn, that's a gem right here.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Though it's a gem. But Nipsy's cool as fuck. Man.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I think I've told this story before. I'll tell it
- 28:51Speaker 1: to you. But he did the verse on GP. I
- 28:54Speaker 1: pulled up in a cab to his studio out there
- 28:56Speaker 1: was a bunch of homies in the room and me
- 28:59Speaker 1: right hey listened to record. He did it right there
- 29:01Speaker 1: in front of me. I was like, damn, I can't
- 29:02Speaker 1: bolow just by myself to wherever he was at. And
- 29:06Speaker 1: I was like, damn, this fuil blessed me. I'm like,
- 29:07Speaker 1: y'all want to shoot the video. He's like, it's all good.
- 29:10Speaker 1: So I came down later to shoot the video. He
- 29:12Speaker 1: didn't show up. I called him like three or four times.
- 29:14Speaker 1: He didn't answer. I'm like, you know what, I'm not
- 29:16Speaker 1: gonna blow this guy up like he did the verse
- 29:18Speaker 1: on GP. It is what it is. I just maybe
- 29:21Speaker 1: not released the video. He called me in and said,
- 29:23Speaker 1: I said, look, I was doing some real life shit.
- 29:25Speaker 1: I might even get into it. But call the camera
- 29:27Speaker 1: guy that shot your shit, have him come see me
- 29:29Speaker 1: so it's consistent, and bang my verse out for you.
- 29:32Speaker 1: He did it, and I'm like, damn, that fools a
- 29:34Speaker 1: real one.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Bro.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Like he just was very very solid, dude, We're supposed
- 29:38Speaker 1: to do a bunch more and we talked about doing
- 29:40Speaker 1: a bunch of we shit too, And I would love
- 29:42Speaker 1: to connect with Black Sam to see some of those
- 29:44Speaker 1: saying Shree we had a really really cool cookies collaboration
- 29:48Speaker 1: with his clothing line, and we had some other things
- 29:50Speaker 1: we wanted to do, so I would love to reconnect
- 29:52Speaker 1: with Sam see that.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Through you have expanded into so many different areas, whether
- 29:59Speaker 2: it's you know grinders and you know shredders or you
- 30:03Speaker 2: know Vibes papers. What has kind of been the biggest
- 30:06Speaker 2: specifically with the Vibes papers. I know you talked a
- 30:09Speaker 2: little bit about kind of the smoke with Josh on
- 30:11Speaker 2: No Jumper, but what has been the biggest uphill battle
- 30:16Speaker 2: with vibes in general, you.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Know, with vibes, I think the biggest problem has been
- 30:20Speaker 1: that it's just it's just, uh, it's a very tough
- 30:24Speaker 1: industry to be in rolling papers. You know, it's cool
- 30:26Speaker 1: if you're gonna make them just to give him way
- 30:28Speaker 1: or have him like his merch or something like that.
- 30:29Speaker 1: If you really want to be a rolling paper company,
- 30:31Speaker 1: God damn, it's difficult.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Is it?
- 30:33Speaker 1: Is it a market share thing? Is it a I
- 30:35Speaker 1: think it's a combinations. It's a combination of market shares.
- 30:38Speaker 1: You know, dominant players that have them monopoly on things
- 30:40Speaker 1: and just do well. Like I gave Josh his props
- 30:42Speaker 1: on No Jumper.
- 30:43Speaker 2: He's the biggest for sure, and he's seen thot. He's
- 30:46Speaker 2: from my hometowns.
- 30:47Speaker 1: He's the biggest, and he has that ship in a chokehold.
- 30:49Speaker 1: And so if you're gonna try to put them out,
- 30:50Speaker 1: that's gonna be with him. You gotta just be ready
- 30:53Speaker 1: for everything that comes with that. And like I feel like,
- 30:55Speaker 1: you know, I would love to keep I got vibes
- 30:58Speaker 1: out in my hand right, and we have some cool products.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I think the Cabano is amazing. Any think the Callies
- 31:02Speaker 1: are the first cylinder of stuff football product is and
- 31:04Speaker 1: saying that no one's even to put those out. Uh,
- 31:07Speaker 1: you know, we have the fatty line we did. But
- 31:09Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't really know if I want to
- 31:10Speaker 1: keep putting all my energy in there because I just
- 31:13Speaker 1: can't beat the big dogs.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Are you gonna kind of like ease off of the
- 31:16Speaker 2: vibes thing?
- 31:16Speaker 1: I don't know now. I don't want to use off it,
- 31:18Speaker 1: but I don't know if I can put as much
- 31:20Speaker 1: energy as I did before into it, because I'm.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Like, is the juice worth the squeeze exactly?
- 31:26Speaker 1: I'm not saying I want to beat the big dogs,
- 31:28Speaker 1: but even to sit next to the big dogs in
- 31:30Speaker 1: order to actually make some real bread, it's gonna take
- 31:32Speaker 1: a lot, a lot of energy. I think I'd rather
- 31:34Speaker 1: put that in the cookies. Right now. I feel like
- 31:36Speaker 1: cookies deserves all my energy. There's a lot of things
- 31:38Speaker 1: to clean up, a lot of things to fix. I'm like,
- 31:40Speaker 1: do I want to put all my shit into vibes?
- 31:43Speaker 1: But I just want to focus on cookies. I think
- 31:44Speaker 1: I need to focus on cookies. Cookies is a big, big, big,
- 31:47Speaker 1: big deal, and I'm like, I'm gonna keep vibes going
- 31:50Speaker 1: don't get me wrong. In some I smoke, I'm smoking
- 31:52Speaker 1: vibes right now. You see the logo right there, Boom
- 31:54Speaker 1: is my paper. Yeah, I'm rerittally integrated for myself at least,
- 31:57Speaker 1: But I feel like I need to see this through
- 32:00Speaker 1: and then I could go ahead and and read that.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Would you partner with like a bigger like a zigzag
- 32:05Speaker 2: or like a somebody like that where you kind of
- 32:08Speaker 2: like they kind of are able to have like a
- 32:11Speaker 2: they kind of take over the So I said it earlier.
- 32:14Speaker 1: I don't know if people caught it, but I like
- 32:16Speaker 1: to be creative. Yes, if I could partner someone and
- 32:19Speaker 1: leave full control as far as creativity for me and
- 32:22Speaker 1: product development, of course I would erhap zero. I'd parted
- 32:25Speaker 1: with Josh, Josh, I've told you this before. If I
- 32:28Speaker 1: can just develop new products and design the packaging and
- 32:33Speaker 1: introduce them to the people I fuck with, did I'd
- 32:36Speaker 1: be good, But.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Not to like expose any of the crazy stuff I
- 32:38Speaker 2: know about your guys' issues, but because there's been some
- 32:41Speaker 2: wild d of scenes that we won't even get into.
- 32:43Speaker 2: But that relationship isn't beyond repairing for.
- 32:47Speaker 1: You, bro, I almost died from cancer, right, so nothing
- 32:51Speaker 1: is that serious unless you shot at me, which no
- 32:53Speaker 1: one ever has, and thank god, right don't have a conversation.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Put everything on the table. I would I said this
- 33:00Speaker 1: on no Jumper. I will talk to Josh any day
- 33:02Speaker 1: because for me, I just want to live, be happy.
- 33:05Speaker 1: I want to do business. I think I have created
- 33:07Speaker 1: some really cool things in the roll in paper space.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I think that I have incredible support with the Vibe
- 33:11Speaker 1: Tribe and those guys are amazing. Shout out to the
- 33:13Speaker 1: Vibe Tribe. I think I have a good audience that
- 33:15Speaker 1: enjoys vibes. So whether it be Josh or someone like
- 33:19Speaker 1: zig Zag or just the right you know, the right
- 33:22Speaker 1: time in life where I have my own money to
- 33:24Speaker 1: put back behind it, it's gonna take up probably three
- 33:26Speaker 1: to five million dollars of advice where I want. Yeah,
- 33:28Speaker 1: that's why I've kind of fell back a little bit.
- 33:30Speaker 1: But bro, if someone leaves me creative control and product development,
- 33:34Speaker 1: then I'm fucking in.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Don't because I know Yola connected with the Blazy Susan
- 33:38Speaker 2: Bruhs for proper Papers, which is that as you know.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out to Yola, Shout to Blazy.
- 33:44Speaker 2: But it feels like it's a. It's I haven't had
- 33:47Speaker 2: a couple of homies who have tried the leaf thing,
- 33:50Speaker 2: you know where they go out to the dr and yeah,
- 33:53Speaker 2: you know, it sounds like a great idea to you realize,
- 33:56Speaker 2: like there are so many competitors, right, So it's like,
- 34:02Speaker 2: I think loose Leaf has done a pretty good job of.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I'm partnered with loose Leaf. Shout out to Loosely, like
- 34:06Speaker 1: we're going crazy with the cookie skews on it on
- 34:09Speaker 1: the life is going crazy and like you know in Texas,
- 34:12Speaker 1: shout to slapper Woods. But that's why I like, that's
- 34:14Speaker 1: a perfect example, like why reinvent the wheel? Like at
- 34:16Speaker 1: this point in life, I'm like, look, dude, Loosely, You've
- 34:18Speaker 1: got this ship on smash. They do great marketing, have
- 34:20Speaker 1: incredible products, Like I might as well just goe and
- 34:22Speaker 1: license my brand to him. He does justice by us.
- 34:25Speaker 1: He makes sure the products and all the right hands.
- 34:27Speaker 1: He makes sure the product is fresh as solid, and
- 34:29Speaker 1: we're killing it together right now. I love Lucie, dude,
- 34:31Speaker 1: for sure, I might even doing cookies papers to be dope.
- 34:35Speaker 2: You produced and did a whole entire movie that we
- 34:38Speaker 2: haven't seen yet.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Glass City, right, splash Splash Citylas. I just think
- 34:45Speaker 1: of the bipping and the glass hitting the street and
- 34:48Speaker 1: splash Cities, Splash City. This is a big project that
- 34:53Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, it's crazy, like when you
- 34:55Speaker 1: have so much shit going on and like there's just
- 34:58Speaker 1: like this entire completed project that like two years I've
- 35:01Speaker 1: been sent on two million dollar film up right, that's myself.
- 35:04Speaker 2: It's pretty cool. No, but but but look, like you know,
- 35:10Speaker 2: Freddie Gibbs is in a movie called night Watch. Uh
- 35:14Speaker 2: is it called night Watch late Watch? I don't funk.
- 35:16Speaker 2: I'm a terrible friend. Went and saw the movie. It
- 35:20Speaker 2: was an independent movie. He did great in it. But
- 35:23Speaker 2: the but but when they were doing the Q and
- 35:25Speaker 2: A after the movie, the dude who like was like
- 35:28Speaker 2: the behind the movie was like, this is this movie
- 35:30Speaker 2: is a seven year project in the making, and like,
- 35:33Speaker 2: I immediately had a light go off. I was sitting
- 35:35Speaker 2: next to our gay friend Spencer, who, by the way,
- 35:37Speaker 2: just came Spencer Breen. He's living in his truth.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Uh so we appreciate that he had an experience in
- 35:45Speaker 1: prison that changed him forever. Oh my god, I didn't Spencer,
- 35:48Speaker 1: but no, so I was like me and Spencer talking,
- 35:51Speaker 1: and I was like, it makes sense, you know, because, uh,
- 35:54Speaker 1: you did this movie and it's still not out.
- 35:56Speaker 2: But it's like, you have to do right by the movie.
- 35:59Speaker 2: You want to make it, like you don't just put
- 36:01Speaker 2: some shit out and turn it into like, you know,
- 36:04Speaker 2: like a bootleg DVDs.
- 36:05Speaker 1: So like so like that's that's that's right. So basically
- 36:08Speaker 1: I was green. I made a movie. I spent two
- 36:11Speaker 1: million dollars of my own bread shot in San Francisco.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I did a sag union the whole way. I did
- 36:17Speaker 1: it right. I did it the right way. I did
- 36:18Speaker 1: it the right way. I had zero investors. I didn't
- 36:21Speaker 1: know that people didn't do that. I didn't know that
- 36:23Speaker 1: people raise money for films. I didn't know that. No
- 36:25Speaker 1: one's Some of the biggest people we know have never
- 36:28Speaker 1: put a dollar into their own films in Hollywood. Right,
- 36:30Speaker 1: It's not people aren't commonly funding their own film. It's
- 36:33Speaker 1: not not a normal thing. I'm a dumb ass. I
- 36:35Speaker 1: spent two million dollars on a film, and I thought
- 36:37Speaker 1: I was gonna be able to get out Hella fast.
- 36:40Speaker 1: But you know what, though, I'm glad I took my
- 36:41Speaker 1: time because I have an incredible fucking partner. For now,
- 36:43Speaker 1: I'm actually gonna sit down with them on Friday and
- 36:45Speaker 1: get a date for this summer. But what I did
- 36:48Speaker 1: in that, and I'm glad I talked about this in
- 36:50Speaker 1: my book. You have to go along sometimes. So let's
- 36:52Speaker 1: just go ahead and let's break this down. So by
- 36:55Speaker 1: me spending two million dollars to produce a film in
- 36:57Speaker 1: my hometown, right was fucking by me doing that, and
- 37:02Speaker 1: by me waiting it out and sitting on the fucking
- 37:04Speaker 1: that money in that film for two years, which has
- 37:06Speaker 1: been tough. People all burned and do it.
- 37:08Speaker 2: He fell Well, No, I mean I got you a
- 37:10Speaker 2: little bit of money for some placement in there, you
- 37:12Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. And that for sure some of
- 37:13Speaker 2: them hit me like, hey, what this shit coming out?
- 37:15Speaker 1: But you know what, for my sponsors that did the
- 37:17Speaker 1: placements like that, Now I did that. I found the
- 37:20Speaker 1: right partner. It's gonna be a theatrical release and a
- 37:23Speaker 1: good streamer partner that that will pick it up. But
- 37:26Speaker 1: that opened the doors for me to do other things.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Now we're talking about the meeting we have on Friday.
- 37:30Speaker 1: It's not just a date for Splash Heat, but it's
- 37:32Speaker 1: like here's a budget for you to go make some
- 37:34Speaker 1: short films or I feel like, man, I mean I
- 37:37Speaker 1: think this is a big reason why you did Splash
- 37:39Speaker 1: City was to tell the Bay Area story well.
- 37:41Speaker 2: For sure, but like there isn't there isn't a I mean,
- 37:44Speaker 2: there was that movie that just came out about the
- 37:47Speaker 2: symbol was playing too short.
- 37:49Speaker 1: In Yeah, yeah with the Freaky Tails.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Freaky Tail.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Yeah that was shout out at Freaky Tails.
- 37:53Speaker 2: But but I feel like that the Bay Area street
- 37:56Speaker 2: culture in general is not something that there has been
- 37:59Speaker 2: a real representation of. You know when I think of
- 38:03Speaker 2: like how many movies or well, how about represent La Street.
- 38:07Speaker 2: How about the.
- 38:07Speaker 1: History of the Bay right, No one's even really broken
- 38:09Speaker 1: down whether it be the Asian mob or like the
- 38:11Speaker 1: you know, to all the different people from the Bay
- 38:14Speaker 1: that were doing their thing back in the days. Is
- 38:15Speaker 1: like the differen sites, whether it be Frisco, Oakland, Richmond, Valoe.
- 38:19Speaker 1: There's great stories out there. And so I'm gonna lay
- 38:21Speaker 1: out here for everyone watch right now. I spent two
- 38:23Speaker 1: million dollars sat on my movie. We'll go through Hollywood
- 38:26Speaker 1: like Get Shorty found the right partner, which is a
- 38:28Speaker 1: big one. I'll tell you when we're off camera, right,
- 38:30Speaker 1: I'm about to drop my movie in the summer. Now
- 38:32Speaker 1: I got a budget to tell a bunch of short,
- 38:34Speaker 1: short short stories. Now they're gonna give me a budget.
- 38:37Speaker 1: The studios is gonna give me a budget to go
- 38:38Speaker 1: do some short films.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Fire.
- 38:40Speaker 1: What is the short film? Is gonna be about the Bay,
- 38:42Speaker 1: of course. And so what I'm gonna do is I'm
- 38:44Speaker 1: gonna go ahead and start telling some of these incredible crime
- 38:46Speaker 1: stories from where I'm from. And I guess my plan
- 38:48Speaker 1: works because all I ever wanted to do was tell
- 38:50Speaker 1: stories about where I'm from. And by me putting that
- 38:53Speaker 1: two million dollars in, people like this guy really appreciates
- 38:55Speaker 1: his craft. He takes his seriously. He's wanting to put
- 38:58Speaker 1: his money where his mouth is. Fuck it, let's gamble
- 39:01Speaker 1: on the dude, right. So that's what I talk about
- 39:03Speaker 1: my book, is you gotta go along, Because no other
- 39:05Speaker 1: businessman would have put two million dollars into a film
- 39:07Speaker 1: with no guaranteed path, right like people raise money for
- 39:10Speaker 1: shit like that. So I feel like by me doing that,
- 39:12Speaker 1: at least I got the right partner now for that
- 39:14Speaker 1: film and for a future projects. And if I'm truly
- 39:17Speaker 1: gonna get this budget, which I think I am to
- 39:18Speaker 1: tell short stories. I'm gonna do some sick g shit.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Hey, man, don't forget odd Socks Basics, the only thing
- 39:24Speaker 2: that's on my feet, man, or the odd socks baby,
- 39:27Speaker 2: all right? And what I love about odd socks. First

- 40:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it went pretty I think it's got like six
- 40:50Speaker 1: hundred thousand views on my YouTube channel because.
- 40:52Speaker 2: I asked you what's the craziest l you took? And
- 40:54Speaker 2: we were talking about you going up to what is that?
- 40:57Speaker 2: What's the fucking Humble Humble? Yeah, Yeah, that's some ship.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I feel like the fact no one's done like a
- 41:03Speaker 2: fucking Netflix show about like that world up there.
- 41:07Speaker 1: It's like it's like the it's like our version of
- 41:09Speaker 1: Yellowstone Laws up there. It's like a very it's it's
- 41:13Speaker 1: you're already speaking my language. And that's what I'm excited
- 41:15Speaker 1: about this meeting on Friday because I'm like, look, whether
- 41:18Speaker 1: it be Frisco Oakland, Valeo, Richmond, or even all the
- 41:22Speaker 1: way up even even Stocked and Salinas. Like, there's certain
- 41:26Speaker 1: areas that have incredible stories I've heard about, but then
- 41:28Speaker 1: you go up to humbold County. Bro, that's like the
- 41:30Speaker 1: weed yellow Stone Dogs. You can go crazy with that.
- 41:33Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna tell some
- 41:35Speaker 1: really good short stories. I'm gonna make sure these short
- 41:37Speaker 1: films go crazy and that that would turn into feature films. Yeah,
- 41:40Speaker 1: or or a show or a series or Bro, you
- 41:42Speaker 1: already know exactly where I'm going with this. It's like
- 41:45Speaker 1: I gambled on myself for a reason, not just to
- 41:48Speaker 1: put a film out. Now, I was trying to get in.
- 41:49Speaker 1: I want to do what Fifty's doing.
- 41:51Speaker 2: He's killing it on for you. The weed game is
- 41:59Speaker 2: being so I don't want to say pimped out, but
- 42:03Speaker 2: it feels like it's been pimped out in terms of
- 42:06Speaker 2: just like so many people coming in and out that
- 42:09Speaker 2: aren't even necessarily we dudes, like, I mean, we know
- 42:12Speaker 2: so many I mean homies of ours who've done brands
- 42:14Speaker 2: and gone and they don't even smoke and they don't
- 42:18Speaker 2: exist anymore, or you know, a lot of people were
- 42:21Speaker 2: coming in and just grabbing quick quick bags. And you know,
- 42:24Speaker 2: you mentioned the long game what you talk about in
- 42:25Speaker 2: the book, Like a lot of people have not approached
- 42:29Speaker 2: the weed shit as a long game. But who has
- 42:32Speaker 2: that you respect, that is kind of in the hip
- 42:36Speaker 2: hop realm that has kind of given the industry its
- 42:39Speaker 2: respect and has approached it properly. In your opinion, outshot
- 42:43Speaker 2: it yourself, so hip hop and not.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Just like we hip hip hop. Wiz doing great job, Yeah,
- 42:48Speaker 1: Khalifa Cush, Yeah, he's just he's building it. He's building
- 42:51Speaker 1: nice and slow. He's not rustling in anything. He's not
- 42:53Speaker 1: doing Hella deal's kind of trying to figure out himself.
- 42:56Speaker 2: They're very selective for sure.
- 42:57Speaker 1: He doesn't even tried to lean on me for anything.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Lur gay friend will not.
- 43:05Speaker 1: But but you know, I appreciate Whiz because his whole
- 43:08Speaker 1: thing is like, I want to do this by myself,
- 43:10Speaker 1: on learning ship myself. He could have leaned on me
- 43:12Speaker 1: one hundred different ways. I would have gave him anything
- 43:14Speaker 1: he wanted to, but he didn't want to want to
- 43:17Speaker 1: do his thing himself. And he's he's killing it, you
- 43:19Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So he's doing it right hip hop.
- 43:23Speaker 1: We shot the methad Man Man math. Yeah that's a cowshit. Yeah,
- 43:28Speaker 1: I want. I want to help Meta Man metth if
- 43:30Speaker 1: you're watching this, but I respect you got my boy
- 43:32Speaker 1: Singi's back on tour and then Ussos jumped him in Seattle,
- 43:35Speaker 1: and I don't forget things like that. That's my that's
- 43:37Speaker 1: my guy. And also like I appreciate your consistency and
- 43:41Speaker 1: your original weed.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Guy.
- 43:42Speaker 1: So if you need some genetics, myth, if your cultivators
- 43:44Speaker 1: are growing your weed, need something fresh, I got a
- 43:47Speaker 1: bunch of new show love to just give you, ye.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Method man man. If people will forget like how Hi
- 43:52Speaker 2: Man him and Red Man are like.
- 43:53Speaker 1: That, I got it. I got a really nice cross
- 43:55Speaker 1: for a method man. So methad Man tap In, whoever's
- 43:58Speaker 1: growing your weed, have him hit me up on the
- 43:59Speaker 1: DM or just call me and hook me up with them,
- 44:01Speaker 1: and I'll give him something special. Go for your brand
- 44:03Speaker 1: because you're just you're doing it right, bro.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Yeah, how much because there's so many like athletes now
- 44:09Speaker 2: that have because like especially like in the NBA, in
- 44:12Speaker 2: the NFL, they don't test for marijuana anymore.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Yeah that's far. So you'll see guys like Kevin Durant
- 44:17Speaker 1: like come out like he's an obvious pothead. I smoked
- 44:20Speaker 1: big with Kevin Durant, I smoke. I gotta find that
- 44:23Speaker 1: volog now he's openly smoking. I went to just place
- 44:25Speaker 1: in New York one time. I smoked super big with he.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Probably like don't really, but now it doesn't matter. I
- 44:32Speaker 2: was gonna say, back in the day, like in like
- 44:35Speaker 2: let's say like fifteen, sixteen seventeen, were you like, I mean,
- 44:39Speaker 2: you're the guy who I'm sure a lot of athletes
- 44:41Speaker 2: would hit like, are you like lace and fools?
- 44:45Speaker 1: Like for the ones that can get a hold of me,
- 44:46Speaker 1: I'm hella busy, So I'm not really the guy like
- 44:49Speaker 1: to be the back then though, but like even then,
- 44:52Speaker 1: I was hella busy. So like if someone got hold
- 44:54Speaker 1: of me, like shout out to the Warriors or people
- 44:55Speaker 1: that were in town, certain nine players or whatever. Like
- 44:58Speaker 1: when people hit me up, if it's people, I can
- 45:00Speaker 1: respect it because I'm not really into sports like that.
- 45:02Speaker 1: For someone cool, I'll go ahead and bless them.
- 45:04Speaker 2: How it Because I see the THHC carts everywhere, right,
- 45:09Speaker 2: the THCA carts rather Yeah, it's such a massive business
- 45:13Speaker 2: because you know, yeah, I mean some of the numbers
- 45:17Speaker 2: Yola told me he does on his brand. It's fucking insane.
- 45:20Speaker 2: The THHGA thing is a big there's a big misunderstanding.
- 45:24Speaker 2: It's obviously it's got to be grown in a certain
- 45:25Speaker 2: type of lab, it has to be tested a certain way.
- 45:30Speaker 2: A lot of weeds snobs frown upon it. You're obviously
- 45:34Speaker 2: in the thhc A game. What does your kind of
- 45:37Speaker 2: take on? Just like the misconceptions of it and just
- 45:40Speaker 2: the viability of it long term.
- 45:42Speaker 1: It was a great loophole, and people that knew how
- 45:45Speaker 1: to take advantage of loophole made a lot of bread.
- 45:48Speaker 1: If you think about it. You can legally send weed
- 45:50Speaker 1: to people's doorstep all around the country. And I don't
- 45:54Speaker 1: think it's gonna last much longer. I think I saw
- 45:56Speaker 1: something this morning on Twitter. It's gonna stop. The Flower's
- 45:58Speaker 1: gonna stop on March thirty first, or something like that.
- 46:00Speaker 2: I didn't see that.
- 46:00Speaker 1: So they're at least in Texas, I think, I don't
- 46:02Speaker 1: know if it's.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Texas is where they feels like they got big problems. Yeah,
- 46:05Speaker 2: so the fuckers is out there, right, But.
- 46:07Speaker 1: You know you said it right just to give it
- 46:09Speaker 1: to people don't really understand like the way things work were,
- 46:11Speaker 1: But basically the shit don't smoking right now. If tested
- 46:14Speaker 1: a certain is, if growing in the hemp farm, if
- 46:18Speaker 1: it's testing the way a certain way, it's pretty much
- 46:22Speaker 1: weed is weed, bro And a lot of the weed
- 46:23Speaker 1: that you see as TCA's pretty much the ship we
- 46:25Speaker 1: smoke anyways. It's just growing in hemp farm. It's it's
- 46:28Speaker 1: a certain kind of license that someone took the time
- 46:30Speaker 1: to get and they're growing to wheat and they're testing
- 46:32Speaker 1: a certain way. But most we end up testing that
- 46:34Speaker 1: way anyway. So yeah, for people saying it's fake weed,
- 46:37Speaker 1: it's not fake weed, but it's not like the high
- 46:38Speaker 1: Time ship in the back of the magazine back on
- 46:40Speaker 1: the days. It's actually real weed growing in a different
- 46:42Speaker 1: kind of license that tests a certain way. But a
- 46:44Speaker 1: lot of spice. Yeah, it's.
- 46:48Speaker 2: The spice era was crazy.
- 46:49Speaker 1: That's insane.
- 46:50Speaker 2: My baby mama was tweaked out on that ship.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Oh my god. The spice shit was the fact people
- 46:54Speaker 1: were smoking spice back in the day, crazy times, fucking nuts,
- 46:58Speaker 1: fuck spice.
- 47:00Speaker 2: What about on the Because I know you also kind
- 47:02Speaker 2: of like dibbled and dabbled and you do have cookies.
- 47:07Speaker 2: There is some cookies like legal mushrooms that are like
- 47:11Speaker 2: I've seen them.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I don't think so no where it's like more like
- 47:14Speaker 1: a oh caps, the caps, Yeah, yeah, no, because they
- 47:19Speaker 1: when I think of mushrooms, I like the micro Dosa
- 47:20Speaker 1: was singing that now we had caps, which won a
- 47:23Speaker 1: fucking award in men's health.
- 47:25Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. I know you have the legals
- 47:26Speaker 2: because there are some legal mushrooms that I.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Don't even know if we're still making those. I hope
- 47:30Speaker 1: we do. But those things helped me sleep a lot,
- 47:32Speaker 1: especially during the cancer thing. Like those blends were fucking amazing.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Whoever made those blends for us, We're fucking they're amazing.
- 47:39Speaker 2: I was going to say, like it feels like the
- 47:40Speaker 2: next frontier, and I think it's kind of chilled out
- 47:43Speaker 2: a little because the last few years, like the Shrewd
- 47:45Speaker 2: game has felt like the wild wild West. But it
- 47:48Speaker 2: does feel like psilocybin is probably like the next like
- 47:51Speaker 2: in the next ten or fifteen years, it's going to
- 47:53Speaker 2: have its or less. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I heard.
- 47:56Speaker 1: I heard the current administration wants to push that.
- 47:58Speaker 2: More than want to push we throughn't doubt it because
- 48:00Speaker 2: obviously a lot of the soldiers talk about how it
- 48:02Speaker 2: benefits from a PTSD.
- 48:04Speaker 1: They approve of that.
- 48:05Speaker 2: Do you feel like psilocybin is like something that you
- 48:09Speaker 2: would try, like if it becomes legal you microdose, right,
- 48:14Speaker 2: So is it something that you could see kind of
- 48:16Speaker 2: diving diving into like with a new brand or nah?
- 48:19Speaker 1: If I could do it right, I probably just do
- 48:20Speaker 1: it in the caps. And I would like to find
- 48:22Speaker 1: some heady fool that gross on mushrooms, that has different varieties,
- 48:25Speaker 1: that has like knowledge on everything. I would love to
- 48:27Speaker 1: do like some small bashed, heady mushroom shit if when
- 48:30Speaker 1: it's legal to do so. I know there's a bunch
- 48:33Speaker 1: of people out there going different varieties and like hunting
- 48:35Speaker 1: through it. And the ones I get for myself, shout
- 48:37Speaker 1: out at the homie that gives them to me, you
- 48:39Speaker 1: know who you are. They go their own mushrooms there.
- 48:41Speaker 1: They kind of put them into gummies super good, like
- 48:43Speaker 1: super it's like evenly dose, so you're never gonna get
- 48:45Speaker 1: like an off gummy, Like it's amazing. I love.
- 48:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, when the gummies are like consistent.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Amazing that take one that's like a coffee Broyea. Take
- 48:54Speaker 1: them in the morning you feel good. If you want
- 48:55Speaker 1: to gig a little bit more, you take two or three.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Say it's nice.
- 48:58Speaker 2: You talked about some bad trips you've had, especially on acid,
- 49:01Speaker 2: Like I think when you got called home from school
- 49:03Speaker 2: in high school, what's the worst shroom trip you've ever
- 49:07Speaker 2: been on?
- 49:08Speaker 1: Yeah, so I I had some shooms back when I
- 49:13Speaker 1: was living uh in SF. I was probably like in
- 49:16Speaker 1: the avenue somewhere, and I remember eating the shrooms and
- 49:20Speaker 1: like feeling very like uncomfortable in the room. I went outside.
- 49:25Speaker 1: If you know the sunset gually that shit is like
- 49:27Speaker 1: cold fog.
- 49:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:28Speaker 1: I just fucking took my shirt off and started talking
- 49:30Speaker 1: about weed plant. And I was asking it why I
- 49:32Speaker 1: cared so much about this stupid plant, Like why do
- 49:34Speaker 1: I always revolve my day around what I'm gonna get,
- 49:37Speaker 1: what I'm gonna smoke. I'm gonna smoke it. Like I
- 49:39Speaker 1: was talking to the plant, like it was like it's
- 49:41Speaker 1: gonna talk back to me, and I just realized it's
- 49:43Speaker 1: not tired. I'm like, yeah, I'm kind of tripping out
- 49:45Speaker 1: right now. I go back inside.
- 49:46Speaker 2: You used to obviously dibble and dabble in the in
- 49:49Speaker 2: the nose candy. When did you kind of stop stop
- 49:51Speaker 2: kind of fucking around with coke heavy?
- 49:53Speaker 1: Yeah? I stopped doing powder when I was uh, must
- 49:56Speaker 1: have been nineteen years ago.
- 49:58Speaker 2: But also it's been a minute.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't drink alcoholic and do. The reason why
- 50:03Speaker 1: I did powder, I was a bartending brot nineteen years old.
- 50:06Speaker 2: You were bartending and but tending simultaneous.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so I work at the dispensary Monday through Friday,
- 50:12Speaker 1: and then Friday night. I get off working and go
- 50:14Speaker 1: to bartend Friday, Saturday Sunday night. And the way even
- 50:17Speaker 1: got introduced to powder, I was doing. I was doing
- 50:20Speaker 1: Suta night, the crazy and it was the littlet experience
- 50:24Speaker 1: you get. I'm not gonna get into it, but it
- 50:26Speaker 1: was the littlest experience ever at bitches of their dances. Listen, listen,
- 50:31Speaker 1: I was the only nineteen everyone I was nineteen. I
- 50:33Speaker 1: slick back here was popping back then. But at that time,
- 50:36Speaker 1: the cubes a like pop about run here. They put
- 50:39Speaker 1: a little key out. I'm like, come on, come on, junior,
- 50:42Speaker 1: take it. I'm like, oh shit, I'm fucking back there moving.
- 50:45Speaker 1: It was part of the bartender lifestyle. And when I
- 50:47Speaker 1: got done with that ship, and that's got my girl pregnant,
- 50:49Speaker 1: I gotta keep the chef. Stopped drinking and I stopped
- 50:51Speaker 1: doing blow. I was never like a super coca had
- 50:54Speaker 1: but man, when working at the club, that's what the
- 50:56Speaker 1: bartenders is doing, that's what the lasers doing, that's that's
- 50:58Speaker 1: what the Cuban ballers are doing, and that's what everyone
- 51:00Speaker 1: was doing. So you know, it was just a kind
- 51:02Speaker 1: of crazy time. But I'm glad I got away from
- 51:04Speaker 1: that shit early in life. Yeah.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny because it's like the coke thing. I
- 51:08Speaker 2: feel like, thank god most of my homies been off
- 51:12Speaker 2: that ship for so long because I'm like, can you
- 51:13Speaker 2: imagine like being addicted to cocaine now and not knowing
- 51:17Speaker 2: what you're giddy.
- 51:18Speaker 1: That's why yesterday when I was doing flat, he's like
- 51:20Speaker 1: so used to so cokeing. I never sold coked flat.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I had coke on me because I was doing it
- 51:25Speaker 1: and I was a consumer like I was weed back
- 51:27Speaker 1: when I was a young kid. That's it.
- 51:29Speaker 2: Yeah, nowadays it's like Jesus man, dude, just smoke or
- 51:32Speaker 2: do shrews.
- 51:33Speaker 1: It was shady, bro. I was I'd be at that
- 51:35Speaker 1: bar Man Bartend and fools just throw me at like
- 51:37Speaker 1: Rocks Bro, the Cuban dudes. Those dudes are balling, but
- 51:40Speaker 1: they come in. Yeah, Papa, throw me a fucking I'm like,
- 51:42Speaker 1: oh my god, what do I even do with this shit?
- 51:44Speaker 2: I love the Bay Man base fire, It's the best.
- 51:46Speaker 2: You feel like it. The Bay is coming back. I
- 51:47Speaker 2: feel like it's finally kind of because you know the
- 51:50Speaker 2: thing that it frustrates me and like, obviously I would
- 51:53Speaker 2: go to the Bay a lot during the pandemic because
- 51:54Speaker 2: I was working with Gazi, but and it was not
- 51:59Speaker 2: the same. Yeah, it's different now though, but it does
- 52:02Speaker 2: feel like the life is coming back.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta say it, man, like Ghazi and Empire
- 52:09Speaker 1: putting a lot of energy into the Bay bro shout
- 52:11Speaker 1: the guys, like that new building they bought downtown, the
- 52:14Speaker 1: way the way they held it down during Super Bowl, Like,
- 52:16Speaker 1: if it wasn't Fanpire, the Super Bowl would have been
- 52:18Speaker 1: kind of lame in the city, honestly, Like, and I
- 52:22Speaker 1: got to say the new mayor to Leary's doing a
- 52:24Speaker 1: good job. And I don't really speak on politics ever,
- 52:27Speaker 1: because I don't give a fuck enough to talk about politics.
- 52:30Speaker 1: But I'm outside speaking of like cancer events. I see
- 52:33Speaker 1: him there. I'm outside doing something for someone else. I
- 52:35Speaker 1: see him there.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Well, the previous mayor had that ship like Gotham City.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Though that shit was terrible. I don't give a fuck
- 52:41Speaker 1: who's on me that was that was terrible. But this
- 52:43Speaker 1: guy right here is pulling up for small businesses, he's
- 52:46Speaker 1: pulling up for restaurants, he's pulling up for the city events. Like,
- 52:50Speaker 1: I'm like, I fuck with the dude because he's actually outside.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Well I heard he's cracked down a lot on the
- 52:54Speaker 2: bipping too, because I think they got like cameras everywhere.
- 52:56Speaker 1: Now, Like I don't know about any of that was crazy,
- 53:00Speaker 1: but I just know what he's doing for the restaurants,
- 53:02Speaker 1: Like the Homie. Uh, the Homie has like a grant
- 53:04Speaker 1: from the city where it's like he was able to
- 53:06Speaker 1: get into like a really fire location. The city's paying
- 53:08Speaker 1: for most of it, so we could have like a
- 53:10Speaker 1: restaurant that's fucking amazing. And I'm like, I fuck with
- 53:12Speaker 1: that kind of shit.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Do you have what is the sketchiest tenderloin story you have?
- 53:19Speaker 1: Fuck, dude, there's a lot of tenderloin stories to his
- 53:21Speaker 1: Tenderloin is crazy.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Yeah I could. I can't share my ske my, sketchiest
- 53:26Speaker 2: Tenderloin story.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Man, I'm not gonna share mine either. I'm just gonna
- 53:30Speaker 1: tell you that the Tenderloin is shady, and I've seen
- 53:32Speaker 1: some I've seen some real life things. There was a
- 53:34Speaker 1: point where I was even shooting documentary on the Tenderloin.
- 53:37Speaker 1: I'd be hiding in a car with the camera watching
- 53:39Speaker 1: ship and that shit wasn't There's some pockets, like a
- 53:42Speaker 1: good food There's like this little.
- 53:44Speaker 2: Vietnamese bond me sandwich place that's there.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, she's the little blue sign one. Yeah, yeah,
- 53:49Speaker 1: that's amazing.
- 53:50Speaker 2: The liquor store with the Mexican food joint on the
- 53:53Speaker 2: inside is cool.
- 53:54Speaker 1: But I'm gonna tell you what. Now I'm forty two
- 53:56Speaker 1: years old. I can't eat in Tenderloin no more. I
- 53:58Speaker 1: just see you might overdose on. I'll go to the
- 54:00Speaker 1: vietnameat sandwich spot, Like, I'll go there. It's you know,
- 54:02Speaker 1: it's great, it's fucking fire. But yeah, the tls and
- 54:05Speaker 1: Manias neighborhood. I'm actually like, I'm done to hire someone
- 54:08Speaker 1: that wants to see this documentary through to go live
- 54:10Speaker 1: in one of them hotels for a few years and like.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Take it wild over there.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're down to do that, higher at me
- 54:15Speaker 1: because I want to finish that documentary.

- 55:12Speaker 2: first bet up to five is risk free. If you
- 55:14Speaker 2: lose it, they'll give you a bet back token. Let's
- 55:17Speaker 2: get back to the podcast. You obviously have so much
- 55:19Speaker 2: chemistry with so many artists, you know, obviously, you know,
- 55:22Speaker 2: you and be Real have got fucking classics together. You
- 55:25Speaker 2: and Whiz I don't even know at this point how
- 55:27Speaker 2: many songs you guys have together. And there's still this
- 55:30Speaker 2: mythical collab album that still hasn't.
- 55:32Speaker 1: It came out? Just do different albums or he's kind
- 55:34Speaker 1: of spread out.
- 55:35Speaker 2: Well, so he's kind of independent istion now, so it's
- 55:37Speaker 2: probably be a lot easier to do that officially.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Who a lockupdown a good kidnap Wiz for a week?
- 55:42Speaker 2: You and I mean you and Mazzi. That's my favorite
- 55:45Speaker 2: album of yours is the Massi collab album. Yeah, who's
- 55:49Speaker 2: your what's your favorite album that you did with somebody?
- 55:51Speaker 2: Like a full project? And who do you think? Just
- 55:54Speaker 2: in the studio? Two separate questions, and then in the studio.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Who do you think you have the best creative chemistry
- 56:01Speaker 2: with outside of Cosmo?
- 56:03Speaker 1: Obviously, I think best creative chemistry probably would be Real
- 56:06Speaker 1: because I'm said, I grew up listening to him and
- 56:08Speaker 1: I remember like trying to give him a tape back
- 56:11Speaker 1: in the days at the Rainbow Lounge in LA and
- 56:14Speaker 1: just like trying to figure out any kind of way
- 56:15Speaker 1: to put music in front him. So I had the
- 56:16Speaker 1: opportunity to make music with him. I think I brought
- 56:19Speaker 1: a lot of heat. It's actually like the only project
- 56:21Speaker 1: I actually listened to a mine. I don't really listen
- 56:24Speaker 1: to my music if I can listen to those, So if
- 56:26Speaker 1: I have the best creative energy with him, he said,
- 56:28Speaker 1: what's another What.
- 56:30Speaker 2: What's your favorite album of yours? That well, what's your
- 56:33Speaker 2: actual favorite album? And then what's your favorite collod album
- 56:35Speaker 2: you've done?
- 56:37Speaker 1: Fuck, dude, My favorite album is probably drug Store Cowboy Fire.
- 56:43Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, class album? Favorite classics? Man, you got the
- 56:47Speaker 2: Joints with Jack or you got Messy Marvis should be
- 56:49Speaker 2: real ship the Mazi shiit.
- 56:50Speaker 1: My favorite album is probably fuck if I fucking uh man,
- 57:02Speaker 1: I don't even know this too. I like, if I
- 57:04Speaker 1: say the wrong with piss people.
- 57:05Speaker 2: There's forty six of them, so yeah, uh, what about
- 57:09Speaker 2: slept On?
- 57:10Speaker 1: The most slept On is probably me and Currency's album
- 57:12Speaker 1: That Shit was hard, super hard. Yeah, Peno Grisio, Larry
- 57:16Speaker 1: June Shit, Larry Junes slept On as well, and Pacino
- 57:19Speaker 1: shit with the Traffic Ship Traffic was very good too.
- 57:21Speaker 1: There's a lot of good moments in life, dude. Yeah,
- 57:24Speaker 1: but the one I'm working on right now might be
- 57:26Speaker 1: my favorite.
- 57:26Speaker 2: Can you talk about it?
- 57:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm doing I'm doing a project with Chris.
- 57:30Speaker 2: Shouts to Chris, I mean that's your biggest song, rights
- 57:31Speaker 2: Alchivo is your biggest record?
- 57:33Speaker 1: I think it is. Yeah, And but honestly, like the
- 57:35Speaker 1: kind of beats I pulled out for this project are
- 57:37Speaker 1: fucking insane. I played one off camera that we did
- 57:39Speaker 1: last night is fucking insane.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Reminiscent of the vibes of that record of Alchievo.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I mean it's no, it's different. It's different
- 57:50Speaker 1: because we've grown a lot from them, but it's like
- 57:51Speaker 1: the same. I'm taking like shit that you normally wouldn't
- 57:56Speaker 1: sing or you know, do music over. I'm picking some
- 57:58Speaker 1: pretty wild beats right now. If you take yourself out
- 58:02Speaker 1: of the picture. Who's h Who's in the hip hop
- 58:05Speaker 1: cannabis Mount Rushmore hip Hop cannabis. Yeah, be Real, Snoop
- 58:14Speaker 1: Whiz and Snoop be Real Whiz and fucking Currency dude Spitter. Yeah,
- 58:30Speaker 1: meth Man could be in there too. There was a
- 58:33Speaker 1: text There was a text chain I have back in
- 58:35Speaker 1: the days. It was Me Whiz, Snoop, be Real, method Man,
- 58:40Speaker 1: Red Man, Devin, the de Smoke des A, uh fucking
- 58:46Speaker 1: a couple other people.
- 58:47Speaker 2: This was a group chat.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's called the Smoke Olympics. And we were
- 58:51Speaker 1: just like it was like a good weed chat. And
- 58:54Speaker 1: I feel like everyone on there is in Mount Rushmore.
- 58:55Speaker 1: We what gets talked about in this crazy shit? Yeah,
- 59:00Speaker 1: crazy shit? And I remember be Real bodied everybody because
- 59:03Speaker 1: he did he send the video in and me and
- 59:05Speaker 1: Wiz laughed so hard. I fucking almost pissed myself when
- 59:08Speaker 1: when when he called me about this. But it was like,
- 59:11Speaker 1: We're gonna do this contest and see who could I
- 59:13Speaker 1: smoke who? Right? All of us right? And be real
- 59:16Speaker 1: the student glass thing that flips, Yeah, yeah, he put
- 59:19Speaker 1: some fucking attachment with hash on it, and this fool
- 59:22Speaker 1: did fifty flips, fifty rips in a row and fucking
- 59:25Speaker 1: wiz g Yo, that.
- 59:27Speaker 2: Man's gonna kill somebody.
- 59:29Speaker 1: I'm like, fuck me so laughing sort like y'all I'm out, Dog,
- 59:32Speaker 1: I'm out. We try to keep up. I just tack.
- 59:35Speaker 2: Would you guys just send videos to each other to
- 59:37Speaker 2: show how it was?
- 59:38Speaker 1: Like it was like motivational show.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Like, yo, everybody, look at my tolerance is crazier.
- 59:42Speaker 1: He'd be like dog, that dog, like what's up y'all? Chilling?
- 59:45Speaker 1: What's up with my brothers? Like he'd be smoking blunt
- 59:47Speaker 1: and like, Devin, dude, chime in, say some ship and
- 59:49Speaker 1: like but then like it every now and they'd be like, with,
- 59:52Speaker 1: you know, be real, by yo, fellas I'm getting ready,
- 59:55Speaker 1: he'd be trolling people. Be real is the guy that
- 59:57Speaker 1: we bro, No one's gonna smoke born that dy don't
- 59:59Speaker 1: give a fuck.
- 59:59Speaker 2: Who or You're not like a big dabber, right, I think.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: That like low temp dats for taste.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: Oh the dabs are fucking evil.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Man, But Bro, that'd definitely be real too. That shit
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: seriously smoke a linguis shit? I got this ship? Yeah?
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: So was he the most active in the group chat.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: And we were all pretty active. He's just the one
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: that was standing on business.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: So it feels like this should be the genesis of
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: some sort of compilation album.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Okay, the businessman and me, I'll show you the Texas said, guys,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: we need to do a project. Have someone stream the
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Smoke Olympics, film it, air it and fucking packages bitch
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: and sell it. But everyone's so busy. Bro, No, I
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: have a dog. Oh man, I'll tell you off camera
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: what happened. I'll tell you why it didn't happen.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: That would be crazy.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll tell you what did.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: You could pull five of them, motherfucker.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Like fuck man, the ones we had were amazing, and
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: we're all going to start a business with equal ownership.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: It was amazing. It just it just didn't Smoke Olympics. Man,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: let's pull it together, guys, I'll do whatever.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Well, Like I remember, uh Drink Champs was teasing that
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: there was gonna be a podcast called Smoke Champs and
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: it was gonna be smoked Dizna and currency. But it
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: just never happened.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the Smoke Olympus could have been a
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: fire as it would have been a fire project. A
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: fire ass event and festival. It had been a fire
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: ass fucking content people. You imagine now.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: Though, right you do the smoke Olympics and Wiz has
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: a twitch, you know, Or that's.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: What I'm saying.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Everyone's streaming Guy's live stream the entire album being recorded.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: There's five rooms cranking at the same time. You bring in,
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: bring the Alchemist to do some ship, bringing fucking Cosmo
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: to do some ship. You picked the beats because you
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: got the best year for picking beats.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: I want I want to be behind that motherfucking music
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: an R.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: And that's it. It is crazy to me that, like,
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: do you have anybody reaching out to you to because
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: you have a talent for picking beats. It's very very
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: self like. I think Rick Ross has an air like that.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Would you be interested in like a and like if
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: if someone calls you tomorrow and said, hey.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: I've been I've been supposed to an R Mazie's album.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: I've been supposed to an R Whiz album. Wiz she
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: called me, asked me if would sit down with him
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: and do it. I'm down. We just never end up
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: executing it. I think besides, like an R, I have
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: a good ear for features I have a good ear
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: for like song arrangement where she liked that I'm a
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: fan of music so.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: And just like branding too. I feel like, man, you
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: give a fuck about your artwork. Some people it feels
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: like that, I don't know what.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: The fuck is crazy. They's like trying to be too
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: fucking woke or whatever. But yeah, if someone reaches out
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: to me, if someone I actually like and love, I'd
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: rather do that than rap. Honestly, I'd rather an r
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: some shit for sure.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: No, I think you could creative control everything. Craziest. Uh, well,
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: let's talk about how cookies has spread all over the world. Now.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: How crazy was Thailand when you guys open up that thing.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: I saw some of the video. It was like a
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: culture shot.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: It's my favorite place in the world, by the way.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Yet the thing like there was a long line, right,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: there was monks there to bless the store. Crazy all right.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: There was people from China, from Japan, from Sweden, from Ireland, Like,
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: I'm like, this is fucking international weed business right here.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: And the fact that the monks were there to fucking
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: do the whole a little whatever they was doing that
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: she was crazy as fucking to have the drums, like
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: when I was walking to open to cut the ribbon.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: That fucking culture in Thailand embrace cookie so hard. And
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: that's why I just want to get this shit right
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: so bad, bro, because I have some of the best
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: menu in the world. All we've been doing is breeding one,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: logging up and humble. I'll show you if you want
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: to come by studios. We have some of the best
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: we'd I've ever seen in my life, bred by us,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: hunted by us, selected by us. I want to put
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: that shit around the world for people. That's all I
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: want to do. We're uh, Thailand was crazy.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: UK's coming, right, UK's coming.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Yeah, there's another market that tripped me out that's coming
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: soon too. Uh.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: But yeah, they got to figure it out in Japan, man,
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: that's the one thing I was I've been talking to
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: some people so hard. It was like everyone's so sketched
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: about weed there, you know.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: I mean, that's a big deal. They need to legalize that.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: They probably go crazy out.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: There, they would go nuts. They got the strip club
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: in Japan called Mama Woo's.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Is it food fire out there.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: And it's the best, honestly, if you like you like
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: sushi and fish and ship. Yeah, it's the best. Yeah,
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: it's like the best. If you're in the sushi, it's
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: the best. I mean, the noodles are great, the fucking
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: wagou crazy, but the fucking sushi you can go to
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: the shitty like whatever you they would consider like whatever
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: sushi spot, and it is fucking up every.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Sing I've been interested in, Like they've made the Japanese
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: style of burgers, like not like it's like yeah that,
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: but the way the way they do it, like their
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: attention to details, even like some pizza they made in Japan,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: like their attention to details and saying I want to
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: try to know they have got Yeah, candies probably fired too.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, it's the best. It's whatever you're into.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: Their snack life, snack lives wild, the seven eleven, the
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: seven eleven in Thailand, it is fucking wild.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: The seven eleven in Japan is different. Dog, you were like,
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: fuck like our seven eleven suck.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: America sucks when it comes to snacks.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Yeah, what.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Have you?
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: Because I know that this lawsuit ship you're going through
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: is not cheap. Have you thought about what happened? Is
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: if a worst case scenario and what is the worst
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: case scenario if you lose this battle, do you like,
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: what is the worst case scenario?
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: I don't even know at this point. I thought about that.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: I think about it every day. I'm like, what is
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: the worst case scenario. There's no scenario someone comes just
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: takes the brand from me. The brand will always be
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: with you, brand will always be with me. There's no
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: even in the lawsuits, the shit they're claiming it is like,
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: there's no way. It's not like someone just gonna, oh,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: it's mine now. It's like, could there be some different
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: influence on the board and things like maybe. I don't know.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: I don't really know what the worst case scenarios for me.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: The worst case scenario is I tap out and walk away,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: right and that bro. I've thought about that a lot,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: especially like the last five months. I'm like, do I
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: want to keep fighting for this shit? I have to
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: say releasing the book, Maybe want to keep fighting for
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: this shit? Because the reaction people get to my brand
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: and what we built around the world, and I'm not
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: even thinking about it even the online Hey, I'm talking
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: about real people on a person, real interactions about what
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: we built together. It's too strong. So I guess the
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: worst case scenario would be I just tap out, and
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I don't think that's even gonna happen. I think the
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: best case scenario is I can get back to work,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: and get back to work. I can focus on weed,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: weed and weed. That's all I want to do. It's
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: been fucking five years of goddamn drama, fucking sick of it. Dude.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: So somebody hasn't read the book yet and they want
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: to get the book, what would you say is the
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: thing you want people to get out of this the most.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Man, That like, even when your back's against the wall,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: you're gonna find things inside you never found out, you
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: didn't even know you had it, right, Like, you'll find
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: ways to be creative, to keep fighting. I've been fighting
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: so hard lately, and my back is against the wall
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: more than ever has been. I've been in a fucked
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: up position the last few years, and I've been the
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: health shit, health shit, hell shit, the fucking loss to shit.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: But like I'm still going right, And so I guess
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: what I want people to get from the book is that, like,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: you have to stay the term, you have to stay focused,
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: you have to stay motivated. You can never quit, dude.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I can only imagine, like you've been through so
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: much personally and obviously with your health, and I mean
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: you have this painting at your compound that is like
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: a really good representation.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: I guess I think you told me. You told the
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: artist kind of what you've been going through and he.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: Painted it was like, yeah, my boy, Like for you,
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: how do you Because the thing is, man, is a
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: lot of people will go through some of the shit
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: you went through. You went through some personal ship in
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: your life, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Even like thinking right now while we're talking even about
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: the movie, like I spent two mili I didn't figure
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: out for two years. A lot of people that gave
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: up or put on YouTube for free or put on
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: two be like, yeah, I just keep going for you. Yeah,
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: I can say like like the intentional fortitude to like
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: go through all the ship you went through and like
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: all at the same time low key and like crazy'll
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: get up. And that's one thing I said in the
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: book too. I was fighting for my life and my
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: business at the same time. This ship is pretty wild, bro.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: Is there any any like anything in particular where you
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: would like is it your is it your daughter is
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: it your what is the what is the because I
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: feel like sometimes when we get I'll.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Tell you what it is. My mom died with fucking nothing, bro,
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: and my dad fucking is probably the best chef and
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: hardest working guy, and he doesn't really have anything either,
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So I was like, I
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: want to I want to do different for myself and
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: from my family, and I want to leave something for
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: my kids. I'm like, I've been the underdog my whole life.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I've been very humble my whole life. I've just like
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: been this guy. It's just like I'm gonna work harder
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: than everyone, but like I deserve my my day one day. Right,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: I've worked really hard for that, not just for my family,
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: but for myself too, shit for my people, for everyone
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: around me, grinding with me. So I'm like I got
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: to see the through dude. Like and when I got sick,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: you know, when I was going through chemo, when I
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: got my surgery, because you know, when I did the surgery,
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: it was eight and a half hour surgery. I just
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: signed one hundred papers and said if I don't wake up,
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: it's not their fault. Like foot and a half of
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: my car. So it's like when I was laying there,
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: I'm like, damn, I nerver gonna be see cookies, like
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: do what it's supposed to do. I'm never gonna be
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: able to make a movie. I'm never gonna be able
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: to write a book. That's what I'm doing. Now. That's it.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: How's uh? How's married life?
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Man?
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: You just got married?
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Amazing? Yeah, it's the best, bro Like, honestly, like too
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: old to be dealing with some bullshit. I've I've got
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: to give best gift in the world, which is also
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: what keeps me going. Got two brand new babies another
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: one on the way.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: That's gotta be cool too to like, because I feel
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: like going through fatherhood as like someone grinding on the
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: come up is like its own kind of experience. And
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: then also to go through it now like later on
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: in life.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: It's weird. My daughter's eighteen and fucking incredible college and
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: then my son's two, my daughter's ten months, and my
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: other babies coming in July, So it was like that
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: baby's this late in the game, is tight.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: Your daughter, she probably gotta get a kick out of
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: having like like little little brother little sister to play with.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, fucking she loves it. I'm hello glad that
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: she's juice, because it could have went the other ways.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: She could have been like, oh, I'm cool off this.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: She loves her brothers and sister. Are you I know
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: you've talked about this before. I remember she had a
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: clothing line she did for a second. Is the plan
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: to eventually have your daughter run Undie and everything? I
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: wanted to be a CEO of cookies, I said in
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: a few times in the last few months, and like,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: she's been around me this whole time.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: By the way, you just hate the fuck out of
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: me because I'm like, damn, I've been watching your daughter grows.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: She's been a baby eighteen.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: But she's funny.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: She used to be in ruins with me when I
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: was negotiating deal. She'd be in the car with me
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: when I was negotiating deal. She'd be in the studio
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: with me and I was making music. She knows me
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: very very well. She has a lot of the same
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: qualities I have as far as like a good, good
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: people's person in really good conversation. She's in score and
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: a for communications. And she always says, I don't want
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: to do that, but I want her to do that. Yeah,
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: I feel like, you know my son, and maybe one
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: day my son will take over when on because he's
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: a little burned. But I also wanted to do his
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: own thing. I feel like Janelle has that she has
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: a right personality step inside my shoes right now. But
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: I also wanted to do what she wants to do.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: So it's there for she wants to take that brain,
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, and pass it on to
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: her little brother when he's old enough, in the imposition.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: But she's getting the fuck up right.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: So books out now, It is incredible. Give it a read.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: I read about half of it. I'm gonna lie to
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: you and say I read all of it because I
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: couldn't get through a real one. Yeah, I don't lie
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: to me, but I did get through about half of it.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: And I feel like I know you, so I probably
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: probably know most of them.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: We're there's some shit you don't know in the right
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: for sure, for sure there is, and and you know,
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: I think, uh, I just think it's important, man, I think.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: I think. I think it's overdue, but perfect timing.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: It's the right time, it's the right time, it's the
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: right time. I waited for the right time, and I
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: feel like it's just uh. The next level of the
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: game is storytelling two book and to film now, movie
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: on the Way, Movie on the fucking way, New album
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: with Chris on the way. New album with Chris will
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: be here soon. New album will be real pretty much
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: done as well.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: Was that Prohibition five?
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: We don't know we're gonna name it yet, but yeah,
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: a fifth album.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: Fifth album would be real. Thought man the bartender at
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: nineteen fucking doing coke at the five albums be real?
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: Bartending days were crazy, keV. You don't even know.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: I can imagine, all right, So man, lots of lots
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: of new ship on the way man, and then obviously Man, cookies, Uh,
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: cookies is cookies.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: It's it's we're not going nowhere, dude. To leave with
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: this new menu is going crazy. I had a tasting
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: with all the big dogars in my building last month.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: People saw that people were pretty tripped that we all
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: came together. But I'm gonna do it again with the
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: blueberry caviar line. And next is the central pey line
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: than the cookie line, So we're doing breeding in house.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: I can wish said, You're not like a weirdo gatekeeper
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: like other people in other industries, who doesn't want anybody
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: else to have success. Who's the up and coming weed
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: brands that you're fucking with? Man, I'm fucking with Preferred
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Gardens a lot. They're they're growing incredible weed. I'm fucking
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: with that. I want to see this to venom ship
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: that one's talking about it.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: I want to see it. I hear about it. I
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: want to see that.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: I want to smoke guys from Uh there's the homie
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: Shane in La has maven genetics.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he got fired yet. The thing about me,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: bro I love weed, so I've never hate on anyone
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: in the weeds basic because when I go around the world,
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: my favorite thing about touring is getting different weed in
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: different markets. So shout that one that gives me jars.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: I love that. Shually, I smell it, I smoke. If
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: it's good, I enjoy it. But yeah, shot, the Prefer
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: Gardens are probably one of my favorites for gardens.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: There it is Listen Burney, shit, you're hanging out and
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: making time. Oh you know what I wanted to ask
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: you that slipped because we moved on. How cool was
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: it to go on? This tour and just have the
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: people show up for you nationwide. It was the struggle
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: of a tour because you were you were hurting, you
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: were in a wheelchair.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: I was in a wheelchair. It was fucking middle of winters,
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: probably the worst time ever going.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: It was rough. But it still has to is it
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: fuel to go out there and there's all these people
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: who are coming to see you.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: The combination of the tour in the book is like,
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: I'm not going nowhere fucked, I'm not tapping out shit
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: because people really love what we've done and they.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: Love we have these people out here with these tattoos.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Man, shit's real brother. The support. The support is still
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: there after twenty fucking years and making music. I've been
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: making music for twenty years, and not a lot of
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: people can say they can still tour up to twenty years. Yeah.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: No, I would say, like that's the one thing, man, Like,
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: no matter what, like when when you do these things
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: where you show up and whether it's opening a store,
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: it's got to be just a certain type of fuel.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Not most people won't ever feel. Yeah, people got a
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: babysitter in that.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Look, entrepreneurs out there, musicians out there, don't be
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: jaded by then. And people talk shit online all the
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: time because it's easy. But you pull up outside and
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: see that there's love all on our world. It's a
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: different kind of feeling out there. There's a guy in Tucson.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: I want to just shout out who has your face
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: and your logo on his belly.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: That's a great tattoo. You know that guy. Yeah, I
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: know that guy. I want to smoke one with that guy,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: that guy Cyrus.
