- Chris Laker: Did you notice the twenty fifth anniversary since the first nine eleven? Before that it was just September eleventh. It was just like a regular day. If your birthday was September eleventh, no no one thought anything about it. then nine eleven happened and it became nine eleven. Everybody just called it that. Didn't call it September eleventh anymore. I was in Queens, that's where I lived in Astoria. I'll tell you my nine eleven story real quick. I don't know, I probably told it on here before, but On September eleventh. Well, I woke up it was September eleventh and then it became nine eleven. So it was September eleventh and I was in Astoria and my now ex wife had to start school for the first time at Queens County Community College that day. And I was gonna go over there with her, but we didn't know if classes start, 'cause her her classes started like later in the day, like ten o'clock Called the school, they didn't know if there was classes. There was, sort of classes. But they but nothing happened in the class. We and the subway was closed, so we had to take a bus over there and the bus was packed and it was already pretty crazy. And one of the towers had collapsed at that point. The second one hadn't. But I remember I was on the city bus going on Northern Boulevard past this parking lot where you would see across the Manhattan sea and then all I saw was the smoke and it looked like the other tower had gone down at that point. And then we got to Queens Community College. People are walking across the Queensborough Bridge where cause this right next there. So saw the people walk across Queensborough Bridge and she went into class, but there wasn't really class. And then we walked home from there. And it is w like some stores were closed and some stores were open. Like Old Navy was closed. And then I went in a stopping shop and it just felt like everybody was just going about their day. There was nobody shopping. I we just bought like some hummus and tortilla chips. people working there were just working. So it was kinda weird. And then went home and watched the news for like days. also, the news was not reporting people jumping out of the building, Telemundo was. So I was in a bodega and they had a T V on and you could see people jumping out of the buildings. So that was pretty fucked up. That's how I learned that happened. then it was just news on every channel for I don't know how many days and then the first thing I saw that was n I t turned on T V on channel eleven they were showing reruns of Seinfeld and that's I think why I find Seinfeld so comforting, 'cause it was the first thing non nine eleven that I saw. I forget which episode of Seinfeld it was, but that that's it. I don't know. there's more details, I remember a lot of people lined up at payphones because the cell signal was like overloaded, you couldn't get through on your cell phone. And I think even like landlines were having problems. so people were lined up at payphones trying to call people they knew who maybe were working it was yeah, that was brutal. 'Cause I remember seeing people like w like crying, waiting to use the payphones when still trying to figure things out. It was it was a crazy day, that 9 11. It was intense for a few weeks. In New York City, it was it was pretty wild. now, 25 years later, I don't know, we've been friends with Saudi Arabia the entire time. So, you know, you get over things. I'm gonna get into the news now. You it's you still gotta do the news. I mean, that was a big news day. That was the biggest day for news, 9-11. Because news was on every channel. And now you gotta listen to this podcast to get the news. Reflecting Pool Contractor blames its own repairs, not vandals, for damage. Sounds like you gotta lock up this contractor. Sounds like the contractor is working for Antifa and must be questioned, arrested, talk to the family. Somebody has been gotten to, and they are trying to sabotage the president. And now I say no more reflecting pool. it's just a bad memory now. Let's pave it over and make it into pickleball courts. Norway's princess Astrid dies aged 94, two days after King's funeral. I completely missed the King's funeral. completely missed that there was a king of Norway. I didn't know they had a royal family. If you told me someone was the king of Norway, I'd think you were lying to me. but if the king just died two days ago and the princess was ninety-four, that sounds like a pretty old king. They're doing pretty good in that family. If the ninety-four two days after your father dies, Congratulations to the new monarch of Norway. Must be a pretty sweet gig. Not very stressful, you live a long time. Iran backed Houthis take full control of Red Sea coastline tightening grip on crucial shipping lane. that's not good news. Well for the United States that's not good news. And for people around the world buying gas, that's not good news. maybe the war wasn't such a good idea. Maybe. I don't know. I I'm not an expert. I'm no Pete Hegseth. All right? I don't know about military operations. Maybe this is all going very well and I'm too dumb. That's possible. that's probably what they would say. That's probably what Pete Hegseth you know, or like if if I that's a dumb question. What do you mean is that good? You don't know what's good. You're right. I don't. I don't know what's good. probably winning the war and it looks like this No, I'm I'm really gonna have to disagree with anybody that thinks that that is going well for the United States. That's you know, again, not an expert. US diesel price average crosses six dollars a gallon for the first time, Gas Buddy says. This is the headline you get to write every day. diesel price is the highest it's ever been. They're gonna say it again tomorrow. If I was a reporter right now, I'd want to be on the gasoline price beat because every day you get a headline in there. Hey, it's higher again. Can you believe? Went up. Record price today. So six dollars a gallon, it's not good, but it ain't gonna be that good again I'd say gas up. And here the next headline again is about Iran, Baktuthis, and Yemen. So six dollar diesel, get it while you can. two women sentenced to life without parole for murder of transgender man Sam Norquist. yeah, this was somewhere in New York State. These women tortured him for days. Fucking sadistic shit and murdered him because he's transgender. And this is you know, when people talk about I hear one more fucking thing about transgender athletes. I mean, I will hear one more thing. Not if I hear one more thing. I don't know what I'm gonna do. I'm not gonna do anything. I'm gonna get mad again if I hear one more. It's bullshit. And these fu I s ca I saw this thing, it was they were asking James Tallerico about it's like this is a big issue in Texas. It's is it a b it's not a big issue in Texas, you fucking liar. All the Texas high schools just there's just so many transgender athletes trying to get on sports teams. So you gotta other people. And make them the f the enemy of the whole Republican Party and then this shit happens. over nothing. Over what a swimmer nobody asked me this. But if somebody asked me, what do you think about transgender athletes? I said, I don't give a fuck, dude. Don't fucking care. It's a game. What about in bot what shut the fuck up? It's not happening, so shut the fuck up. So fucking annoying. So they got life s and good. Costa Rican man a hundred and nineteen seeks recognition as world's oldest person. We have a dispute. There's a hundred and seventeen year old woman in England. says that she's the oldest person. Well, she doesn't say it. They said it but other people said it. She's not going she was told. But now there's a man in Costa Rica saying he's actually hundred and nineteen wants that Guinness book. Wants he wants that certificate. I don't know if there's an actual Guinness book. But if you're 119 and you're in it, you're getting that Guinness book and you'll enjoy that for I don't know how long. You want the recognition. I think you're 119, you're 117, you should be above titles. All right. You once you make it past 110, y you should stop worrying about certificates and titles, I think. You don't, apparently. So it never ends. But congratulations to both of them. Yeah, you're both you're both doing great. You're both the oldest person. How's that?
