- 0:03Speaker 1: Hey, welcome to a very special how hard can it be?
- 0:06Speaker 2: Happy Hour with Tina?
- 0:10Speaker 1: Clink clink, Tina, my best day of over forty years
- 0:13Speaker 1: back in Ohio. My hometown is Cincinnati. Who's going to
- 0:17Speaker 1: be joining me for little happy hour increments where we
- 0:20Speaker 1: talk about certain episodes and take and give our take
- 0:23Speaker 1: on it.
- 0:24Speaker 2: So excited that you're here.
- 0:26Speaker 1: And this is a real full circle moment. I mean,
- 0:30Speaker 1: had we known back in nineteen nineteen, yes, long time
- 0:38Speaker 1: at Santatininas in the fifth grade on the west side
- 0:41Speaker 1: of Cincinnati, that we'd be sitting here by coastal two
- 0:45Speaker 1: years later, we didn't have to say the number, Tina,
- 0:48Speaker 1: can we just keep a little bit of a little
- 0:51Speaker 1: mystery before us? Please doing this podcast together? This just
- 0:57Speaker 1: excites me because I want more of the women of
- 1:01Speaker 1: this world to know my Tina.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Well. I'm happy to give.
- 1:08Speaker 1: You always are so on that cheers cheers to our
- 1:12Speaker 1: first happy hour and we'll come on and give a
- 1:14Speaker 1: little bonus's let's talk about let's talk about the episode
- 1:18Speaker 1: with Eva Longoria.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Sounds good.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I mean you enjoyed it. I enjoyed it.
- 1:23Speaker 1: There's nothing that woman isn't pretty much an open book
- 1:26Speaker 1: willing to talk about and be very fascinating.
- 1:29Speaker 4: And one of my favorite parts of that podcast was
- 1:34Speaker 4: the word pivot. Yes, because lately I've had to use
- 1:37Speaker 4: the word pivot in so many areas of my life
- 1:40Speaker 4: here and she was talking about pivoting, and I went, well,
- 1:44Speaker 4: there you.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Go, that's one of the greatest things. You're one of
- 1:47Speaker 1: the greatest examples of pivoting, Tina. Because what you guys
- 1:49Speaker 1: don't know about Tina is that Tina was a business owner.
- 1:52Speaker 1: She owned a driving school, the biggest one in the
- 1:55Speaker 1: Tristate area of Cincinnati, a driver's at school. She also
- 1:58Speaker 1: did a lot of physical theory for drivers who have
- 2:03Speaker 1: physical disabilities and driving.
- 2:05Speaker 2: She did all that for many, many, many many years.
- 2:07Speaker 1: She got to a point where she was she had
- 2:10Speaker 1: maxed out. She said she was done. Now we're not
- 2:12Speaker 1: at that age where we can just easily retire, right.
- 2:16Speaker 2: No, but no, you did.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It because your heart told you that there was a
- 2:20Speaker 1: quality of life that you were not willing to compromise anymore.
- 2:25Speaker 3: There was a lot of manifesting, There was a lot
- 2:29Speaker 3: of soul searching. There was a lot a lot of
- 2:32Speaker 3: moments of I'm way too young and I have to
- 2:37Speaker 3: have sustainability and what am I going to do? But
- 2:42Speaker 3: I was kind of circling down and.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Going down a little bit of a rabbit hole and
- 2:48Speaker 4: actually having some medical issues that I never had before.
- 2:52Speaker 4: So then when your doctor tells you you're under too
- 2:55Speaker 4: much stress and you just look at him like, well,
- 2:59Speaker 4: no shit, lock, But what am I going to know?
- 3:03Speaker 4: I'm very well well aware of the diagnosis, but you know,
- 3:07Speaker 4: and I just.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Kept great on it.
- 3:10Speaker 4: I manifested, but I kept growing the company. Yeah, And
- 3:14Speaker 4: it was by growing the company that I found my
- 3:18Speaker 4: future buyers.
- 3:20Speaker 1: The thing that always got me about Tina is that
- 3:22Speaker 1: every time she says she was going to sell the company,
- 3:25Speaker 1: she would either she would invest more to making it grow.
- 3:29Speaker 2: So I would be like, should have get off the pun?
- 3:31Speaker 2: Are you selling it? Are you gonna are? Are you
- 3:32Speaker 2: going to grow it? Which one?
- 3:34Speaker 4: And I had a very good friend in Pennsylvania that
- 3:36Speaker 4: said the same thing that you said, stop growing, stop growing?
- 3:40Speaker 4: You want to sell? And I said, well, all I'm
- 3:43Speaker 4: doing is just making it more marketable.
- 3:46Speaker 3: The more marketable I.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Make it, the better it looks, and the better opportunity
- 3:51Speaker 4: that it gives someone else.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Okay, but then you pivoted, and you ended up selling
- 3:54Speaker 1: it and you went on to do like this was
- 3:57Speaker 1: Tina's game plan. She's like, I'm going to sell this
- 3:59Speaker 1: company and then I'm going to give massages on the
- 4:01Speaker 1: beach for ten dollars.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I'm like, what in the what is that? Massages on
- 4:06Speaker 2: the beach. You sound like what? But to you it
- 4:09Speaker 2: sounded glorious because you love the beach. Now, you didn't
- 4:12Speaker 2: quite a piot.
- 4:14Speaker 1: People do love to get massages, and okay, so you
- 4:17Speaker 1: didn't necessarily do that, but you did. This is my
- 4:20Speaker 1: favorite part of Tina. She did take her empty nest
- 4:24Speaker 1: bedroom of her one son and turned it into a
- 4:27Speaker 1: spot she gives out twenty dollars facials to all her
- 4:30Speaker 1: friends and her appointment books by path.
- 4:32Speaker 2: It's stacked.
- 4:32Speaker 3: It's called piece by path.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Piece.
- 4:34Speaker 4: It's a wonderful little tranquil little nook in my house
- 4:38Speaker 4: that I created.
- 4:39Speaker 3: That is it's it's my little little place.
- 4:43Speaker 4: And you know, there's lotus on the wall, and there's
- 4:46Speaker 4: beautiful little men dollas, and there's essential oils that smell good,
- 4:51Speaker 4: and there's hot stones.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And you basically taught yourself how to do this watching
- 4:55Speaker 1: a couple of YouTube videos.
- 4:57Speaker 3: No, I had a little more experience than that.
- 4:59Speaker 4: You got to go back to my pre business earning days,
- 5:02Speaker 4: to my physical therapy days.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Well, this is true.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Then I said to myself self, why do women? Why
- 5:10Speaker 4: do women? Number one reason women.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Do not go to spots? What do you think it is.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Expensive?
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yep?
- 5:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and time there you go.
- 5:21Speaker 3: So can I make this? I make this at my home.
- 5:26Speaker 4: I only advertise it to my community, and then the
- 5:30Speaker 4: prices are down, I mean little, a little bit more
- 5:33Speaker 4: than a twenty dollars visial, but the prices are not
- 5:35Speaker 4: spot prices.
- 5:36Speaker 3: And guess what.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Everybody leaves their brain as melted their skin is, and
- 5:42Speaker 4: they're like, when can I sign up?
- 5:44Speaker 3: Can I be a regular?
- 5:47Speaker 2: More importantly, more importantly, this makes you happy?
- 5:51Speaker 3: It does?
- 5:51Speaker 2: This pivot made you? This pivot is a.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Bit amazing because it's my schedule, my time. I'm not
- 5:59Speaker 4: overdoing it. No, I do it when I want and
- 6:02Speaker 4: I'm only bringing people in that I know.
- 6:04Speaker 2: And yeah, no, you also did it responsibly. It's not
- 6:07Speaker 2: like you.
- 6:08Speaker 1: You did it with not enough funds saved for you
- 6:12Speaker 1: to live in a way that you can budget this.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Your husband, Mike is wonderful. He still works, and there's
- 6:18Speaker 1: there's a balance there that you did create, so.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It wouldn't create more strings for you.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yeah, funny, funny, Yeah, yeah, this is and this is
- 6:25Speaker 1: the thing that I love. And you also started investing
- 6:28Speaker 1: in that dream vacation home of yours down by the beach,
- 6:32Speaker 1: which is not in Ohio. So this is this is
- 6:35Speaker 1: you realizing those things that you want, that that you're
- 6:39Speaker 1: not waiting for. No.
- 6:42Speaker 4: I did also get a yoga certification because I was
- 6:48Speaker 4: at my gym and all the people that were able
- 6:52Speaker 4: to go to mourning yoga classes, there were people in
- 6:55Speaker 4: the evening classes, like at spinning or strength class that
- 6:58Speaker 4: we're saying we wish we had yoga. So then I
- 7:01Speaker 4: was like ding ding ding, Maybe I should get a
- 7:04Speaker 4: yoga certification because number One, I can teach it at
- 7:08Speaker 4: the gym that I love living fitness.
- 7:10Speaker 3: My second reason because I can do it on the beach.
- 7:13Speaker 2: When I get to be cash everything brings Tina back
- 7:18Speaker 2: to the beach. Yeah, it's all back to the beach.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I mean, this is the thing. Though you're doing it
- 7:23Speaker 1: in your way. Your pivot is called why not. Your
- 7:28Speaker 1: pivot is why not? Like I know that when you
- 7:30Speaker 1: went to look into having this property on the beach.
- 7:33Speaker 1: It wasn't because you had millions of dollars in the
- 7:36Speaker 1: bank account, you said. I remember when you said you
- 7:39Speaker 1: were driving past the bank and you're like, let me
- 7:41Speaker 1: just go in and see what it would take to
- 7:44Speaker 1: get a loan, what it would cost me, what it
- 7:46Speaker 1: would cost my life.
- 7:47Speaker 2: You walked out of there with the loan.
- 7:51Speaker 3: So it's why not?
- 7:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and a loan that served you.
- 7:54Speaker 1: And I'm not talking, I'm not getting into finances. I'm
- 7:56Speaker 1: just saying it's that, it's the why not and even
- 7:59Speaker 1: really harps into that.
- 8:00Speaker 2: What else did you like about her interview?
- 8:02Speaker 3: He did.
- 8:04Speaker 4: I love the piece about age helps us with our
- 8:09Speaker 4: self doubt.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I don't know about me. I've been more. I've been
- 8:14Speaker 1: more neurotic about my self doubt.
- 8:17Speaker 4: I well, okay, I feel like part of its self doubt,
- 8:22Speaker 4: but part of it is that time we spend with
- 8:25Speaker 4: whom we spend it with.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Yes, I think you guys touched on.
- 8:29Speaker 4: You know, when you prioritize yourself and you bail out
- 8:33Speaker 4: of an event, when you prioritize yourself and you kept
- 8:37Speaker 4: your jammis on and your browl off when you're on
- 8:39Speaker 4: the couch and you're happy, Yeah, okay, those are amazing and.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Yeah, she's like fifties about saying no, and I was
- 8:45Speaker 2: like this.
- 8:47Speaker 3: You know me, you say saying no.
- 8:50Speaker 4: And I feel that because of the age, the getting
- 8:57Speaker 4: older era, what we'll call it, I feel like my
- 9:01Speaker 4: self doubt is going away.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I feel for you. Listen, cheer, how cheers because I
- 9:09Speaker 2: love prosecco.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Well, prosecco helps everything, at least for us. I mean,
- 9:15Speaker 1: I'm more emboldened to say no if I've had a
- 9:17Speaker 1: couple of proseccos versus whatever it did to us in
- 9:21Speaker 1: our youth when we said yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 3: I'm more up to agree to a podcast as well.
- 9:25Speaker 1: That's what happened. I waited until you had like a
- 9:27Speaker 1: half a bottle of prosecco, and I'm like, so hey,
- 9:29Speaker 1: but let's say cheers to why not and saying no,
- 9:35Speaker 1: I'm saying no.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Cheers, clink, cheers. How hard can it be? With the
