- 0:08Dayna Roselli: We have ideas for road trips across Nevada.
- 0:12Sean McAllister: Then burgers and boozy shakes just about any time of day you want them.
- 0:17Sean McAllister: We reveal the new spot on the strip that will satisfy your cravings.
- 0:21Dayna Roselli: Need a Valentine's Day idea?
- 0:23Dayna Roselli: We've got a place where you can cuddle up with a unique view of the strip.
- 0:27Sean McAllister: And a new Wizard of Oz experience coming with direct ties to the classic film, plus a new day club option to consider on the strip.
- 0:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we've got a lot to talk about coming up on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:40Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 307.
- 0:43Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here, and we start with a pretty good update.
- 0:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, so you may recall, uh, I don't know, a few months ago we talked with Cliff Atkinson.
- 0:54Sean McAllister: At the time, he was the president of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, and then we kind of updated, and just after that interview aired, he parted ways with the property.
- 1:06Sean McAllister: Well, we've got a Cliff update for you, and we're excited.
- 1:09Dayna Roselli: Well, we said we'll follow up with where he ends up, right?
- 1:12Dayna Roselli: And so we are so happy to see the Fremont Street Experience announced that Cliff is the new president and CEO.
- 1:20Dayna Roselli: Um, and you know, it's great because, first of all, I love that it happened quickly.
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: People realize Cliff is a get.
- 1:26Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 1:26Dayna Roselli: You know, he we we always say we really enjoyed our interview and how open he was with us.
- 1:31Dayna Roselli: He doesn't hold back.
- 1:33Dayna Roselli: I love that we saw him on a weekend at Virgin and asked him for an interview and he said, email me.
- 1:39Dayna Roselli: Just we love the hands-on approach.
- 1:40Dayna Roselli: So we knew that he would be a fit for someone.
- 1:43Sean McAllister: Oh, uh not only a fit, but like you said, an absolute catch.
- 1:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 1:48Sean McAllister: I mean, everyone who we talk to about Cliff just has rave reviews about him.
- 1:55Sean McAllister: They love working with him, he's just a good guy all around.
- 1:59Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 1:59Sean McAllister: So I'm excited to see what Cliff does with uh the Fremont Street experience because he's kind of an out-of-the-box thinker.
- 2:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, he comes up with new ideas, he's not afraid to step outside of whatever box may have been there before.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: And you know, he has a lot of experience in different avenues, but kind of all relate, it all comes together.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: You know, he came here, he said he was a luxury hotel guy, um, and then he learned gaming.
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: Um, and then, you know, he went to Virgin and brought the gaming and the hotel aspect together.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: Like he's just got a lot of experience.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: And, you know, also in when he was at Virgin, you know, bringing different kinds of entertainment in there, he knew like we're off the strip, we've got to do something different.
- 2:45Dayna Roselli: He talked about that KISS Cruise weekend that they did, having KISS perform outside in the back, having them perform in the main theater.
- 2:53Dayna Roselli: Um, and then, you know, having like, I think like autograph sessions and stuff, like a whole weekend.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: Like he gets creative.
- 3:00Dayna Roselli: So I love that.
- 3:01Sean McAllister: Well, and they also uh he put in some programming for Formula One, for National Finals Rodeo.
- 3:10Sean McAllister: Like he was instrumental in putting some of those pieces in place over at Virgin.
- 3:15Sean McAllister: So I have to imagine he's gonna bring some of those elements to Fremont Street experience too.
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because they do a lot of free shows, um, sometimes paid, but mostly free under the canopy.
- 3:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, a lot of different music and stuff like that.
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: And um and people love to visit there.
- 3:32Dayna Roselli: And I'm assuming most people know what the Fremont Street Experience is, but it's the portion that's not open to vehicle traffic in downtown Las Vegas, basically the original strip.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's where the 120-year-old Golden Gate Hotel Casino is, the plaza, all the good ones, you know, all thinions.
- 3:50Sean McAllister: Yeah, yeah, that's all down there, it's all under that big Viva Vision canopy uh that covers uh the Fremont Street experience, and of course there's you know all the stages down there.
- 4:01Sean McAllister: But I think what's interesting is that during uh your conversation with Cliff, Dana, he was talking about how um Jonathan Jostle uh from the plaza and uh Derek Stevens from Circa, the D Golden Gate, um that these are uh uh casino property owners who he really uh looked up to and admired.
- 4:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, jives with.
- 4:27Sean McAllister: Really jives with.
- 4:28Sean McAllister: And and part of being the you know, the CEO of the Fremont Street experience is uh collaborating with Jonathan Jocelyn Derek Stevens on ways to work together for the programming that happens down there.
- 4:45Sean McAllister: So I you know, I think this is a it's gonna be a great fit for Cliff.
- 4:50Sean McAllister: And like I said, I'm excited to see what he does.
- 4:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it'll be good, it's a good move for the Fremont Street experience too, because um I just feel like there oh, you know, I feel like it's over the years been kind of discovering itself and rediscovering, adding the zip line, doing a lot of different things.
- 5:08Dayna Roselli: And I know there's always been talking about cleaning it up a little bit more, you know what I mean?
- 5:11Dayna Roselli: And more rules on the street performers and all that.
- 5:14Dayna Roselli: So I feel like it's always like a work in progress because it's a very popular and busy place.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: It is, yeah.
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: And they have they do have good security there.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: Um, we always talk about that.
- 5:23Sean McAllister: Oh, for sure.
- 5:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, because you think about it, like you know, how like we were saying how many people and how many how much foot traffic goes through there every single day, and hardly any major incidents.
- 5:36Dayna Roselli: It's wonderful that how secure it is.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's well managed.
- 5:40Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, let's talk five guys because all of a sudden, five guys is like the burger place is everywhere.
- 5:46Sean McAllister: All over them, like popping up, opening new locations.
- 5:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so they announced a new spot.
- 5:51Dayna Roselli: Well, we why don't we start with the fact because we're on downtown that they just announced they're gonna be opening at the plaza hotel and casino.
- 5:58Dayna Roselli: Um, and this one's gonna have uh a couple different things.
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: They're debuting a hot dog cart, apparently, outside of the carousel bar under the plaza's uh dome, where guests can enjoy the brand's take on an all-American classic, but also adding the five guys to the casino floor, and then they have an indoor and outdoor patio too.
- 6:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I mean the the carousel bar, if you haven't been downtown recently, it's basically what used to be the valet area at plaza.
- 6:33Sean McAllister: Um, that's turned into uh a pedestrian area with a big carousel bar under the under the lights there.
- 6:42Sean McAllister: Really cool.
- 6:43Sean McAllister: So that'll be great for walk-up uh traffic, foot traffic right there along Main Street and at the uh west end of the Fremont Street experience.
- 6:55Sean McAllister: Um that's gonna be a busy spot for that hot dog cart.
- 6:58Sean McAllister: But then once you step inside plaza, that'll be you know, you'll have five guys just steps away.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I guess they have room for 60 guests, so I guess they'll fill that up all the time.
- 7:09Dayna Roselli: Hey, I like so this is the first the the hot dog cart, you know, is unique, but I was reading about it, so it says, um, so they'll be serving the famous all beef dogs that are split lengthwise, grilled for optimal fate flavor, and then served on a toasted golden brown bun with hand-prepped toppings.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: Doesn't that sound good?
- 7:32Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: All right, well.
- 7:35Sean McAllister: So it's basically like you butterfly your your hot dog.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: I like that.
- 7:40Sean McAllister: And lay it open.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: Okay, so it's coming what this summer?
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: I think it's a good one.
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: This summer, yeah.
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: This summer.
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: Okay, but it's already opened at the Venetian.
- 7:46Sean McAllister: Yeah, there's a new five guys that just opened at the Grand Canal Shops.
- 7:51Sean McAllister: Uh, that's at the Venetian.
- 7:53Sean McAllister: Um, but what they're doing there is they have a boozy shake option.
- 8:00Sean McAllister: And I'm a sucker for a boozy shake.
- 8:02Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:02Sean McAllister: I haven't had one in a long time.
- 8:04Dayna Roselli: I've never had one.
- 8:05Sean McAllister: Oh, really?
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, no.
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: Oh, there have been too many calories.
- 8:08Sean McAllister: Well, it is a lot of calories, but if you're gonna have a shake, you may as well get some booze in there too.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: If you're especially if you're on vacation, especially when you're here in Vegas.
- 8:19Sean McAllister: So uh yeah, not only is this location at the Venetian the first five guys on the Las Vegas strip, but they do offer all day breakfast and the boozy shakes.
- 8:30Sean McAllister: And here's the thing and a full bar.
- 8:32Sean McAllister: And a full bar.
- 8:33Sean McAllister: And their hours of operation 8 a.m.
- 8:37Sean McAllister: to 4 a.m.
- 8:39Dayna Roselli: Every day.
- 8:40Sean McAllister: Every single day.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: I mean, so that basically covers most of the waking hours that the bulk of Las Vegas visitors are up and moving around.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: True.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: I mean, you can't, yeah, that's definitely an end the night kind of thing.
- 8:56Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: Right?
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: So that's smart of them.
- 8:59Sean McAllister: I mean, obviously you're gonna have you're gonna have uh a select handful of the visiting population that's gonna be awake from between 4 a.m.
- 9:10Sean McAllister: and 8 a.m.
- 9:12Dayna Roselli: But what do you mean?
- 9:14Sean McAllister: Like, oh well, because between four and eight, uh huh, that's when it's closed.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 9:21Dayna Roselli: So you're saying, oh, you'll lose some people then.
- 9:23Sean McAllister: You'll lose right.
- 9:24Sean McAllister: You'll lose some people, but most people are sleeping now.
- 9:27Dayna Roselli: Nobody's up before 8 a.m.
- 9:29Dayna Roselli: No, I think nobody's going to bed before 4 a.m.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: It's Vegas, baby.
- 9:32Sean McAllister: Yeah, so I mean, listen, these operating hours, you you can't beat that.
- 9:36Dayna Roselli: No.
- 9:37Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 9:37Dayna Roselli: So I love that these two five guys have something unique.
- 9:40Dayna Roselli: Hot dog cart at the plaza coming, and then this one, first in the country with uh featuring a full bar, all day breakfast, and boozy shakes.
- 9:47Sean McAllister: That's great.
- 9:48Dayna Roselli: We're always just so unique, right?
- 9:49Sean McAllister: We are.
- 9:50Dayna Roselli: You know, I forgot that Omnia was like redoing and building this new big day club and sky bar over at Caesar's Palace.
- 9:59Dayna Roselli: Then we got a release with like a look at it and like, hey, we're ready to open for pool season.
- 10:04Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 10:04Dayna Roselli: I was like, wow, that happened fast.
- 10:06Dayna Roselli: One of those things again that when you can't see it happening, because it's kind of up high, so you can't see overhead.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: Like it's there and there's construction stuff, but you don't actually watch it.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: And it's been great to see some new pictures of what it's gonna look like.
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: And they, you know, Omni is very popular and now they have a pool.
- 10:25Sean McAllister: Yeah, so the Omni and Nightclub is inside Caesar's Palace.
- 10:30Sean McAllister: Um, there used to be a a little parking lot that kind of sat uh adjacent.
- 10:36Sean McAllister: The limo lot is what we always called it.
- 10:38Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:39Sean McAllister: Um, because that's where a lot of the limos sat and staged and whatever.
- 10:44Sean McAllister: It's basically along Las Vegas Boulevard, along the sidewalk there, uh, in front of Caesars Palace, kind of next door to uh Hell's Kitchen.
- 10:53Sean McAllister: Uh so now they have uh replaced that limo lot with Omnia Day Club in Skybar.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: And it's it's got a bridge over to like the original Omnia part, the original patio part.
- 11:09Sean McAllister: So the patio that's like on the second level there.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: So it looks it's literally an expansion, it's not a redo of the current, you know what I mean?
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: So I mean day clubs are so popular, we have a lot of them, we are known for them, and I feel like it's very unique to us.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, there are you know, you head out to a visa and all that, but like in the United States, I would say if you're going to a day club pool party, Vegas is where you're going.
- 11:40Dayna Roselli: Right?
- 11:40Sean McAllister: Where else uh like San Diego, I know, has some like party-ish pools.
- 11:46Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 11:47Sean McAllister: Um nobody's like, hey, let's hit up San Diego.
- 11:50Sean McAllister: But it's not the same as the the day club scene that we have in Las Vegas.
- 11:55Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: So there's obviously demand.
- 11:57Dayna Roselli: A huge demand.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: And now we have a new one.
- 12:00Sean McAllister: And it's part of what people expect now when they come to Las Vegas during pool season, which actually I think kicks up in March, doesn't it?
- 12:09Dayna Roselli: I I think so.
- 12:10Dayna Roselli: They've already been hiring.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: Have you seen all the auditions for the cocktail servers and lifeguards and so um yeah, they built this uh new edition from the ground up.
- 12:23Dayna Roselli: Look forward to seeing its opening and seeing what's good.
- 12:26Dayna Roselli: They wrote to us and said more, you know, stay tuned, more to come.
- 12:28Sean McAllister: We're excited to see all the crowds filling the day club and then spilling out once evening hits.
- 12:35Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 12:36Dayna Roselli: It's always good people watching.
- 12:37Sean McAllister: It's quite a scene, that's for sure.
- 12:41Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 12:42Dayna Roselli: All right, well, let's talk completely opposite.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: How about a road trip around Nevada to see some pretty cool things?
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: We have a lot, and we were at the Nevada State Museum covering another story, and we ran into the head of Travel Nevada, and we had a great conversation with him about all the things that you can do across Nevada.
- 13:00Dayna Roselli: You can hop in your car, you can also take a quick flight because, yeah, you need to fly eight hours sometimes to get up to Reno, but there's so much in between here and Reno and Tahoe.
- 13:12Dayna Roselli: So we talked to him about all of that.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Us who live here in southern Nevada and Las Vegas tend to go east and west.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: Um, but going north, you're gonna find things that you would go to other states to see that the dark skies, the mines, the outdoor.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: You'll see beautiful uh wildlife and forests and mountain ranges.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: You know, one thing most people don't know is Nevada is the most mountainous state in the 48 states within.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: So it is very unique and it is very different.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: And you go from unique temperatures to unique sceneries, uh, and and most important to me, I think, is the unique people that live in the communities.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Uh the faces of Nevada are different.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: You know, our campaign is get a little out there.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: We did this so that people can go out and explore, but also it's a statement about us who live in the state.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: We're a little out there.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: We're a little different.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: We're uh very unique.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: So uh you go to the road trips.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: I I strongly suggest finding unique and wonderful places, but also meet the people, go to the coffee shops, go to the the downtowns and and and and and get to find the people who've made a decision to live out in the rural areas.
- 14:17Dayna Roselli: Well, there are hotels and motels in these towns that you drive through, so you could stay over.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: You could definitely stay over, and and there's unique things, and there's also campgrounds out there and and people who like to RV.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: So you can always go to travelnevada.com and we list our road trips, and we you can also order a passport that actually kind of guides you where to stop, where to visit, get these stamps, and then later when you've completed that passport, which we get five or six of these passports sent to us every month for the last five, six years.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: We send you a certificate from the governor that you completed uh this particular road trip and this particular uh passport.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: So it's very unique.
- 14:54Dayna Roselli: Are you seeing any trends?
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: You know, there's trends that continue.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: You know, during the pandemic, people wanted to go outside.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: They didn't want to be with a lot of folks.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: And we found that that's still very important.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: Um, but also people want to explore and and and go on their own time.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: So uh we that is very important for us.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: It makes it easier for people to enjoy, whether they're from Las Vegas or whether they're from California or from Germany.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Uh, you're gonna find some unique things throughout the state too.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: We have more ghost towns than we actually have city, populated cities uh in the state.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: And and those ghost towns are just not where they're abandoned.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: They tell a unique story on the growth of not only our state, but the growth of the United States.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: For example, most of them were mining towns, and most of those mines and those resources were taken to build other cities in other states.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: San Francisco, for example, was built twice with uh mines out of the Virginia City area out there.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: So they tell very cool stories.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Uh they're easy to get to, uh, they're fun to visit.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: And everyone who loves to take pictures and post them, you're gonna find some unique uh backgrounds there.
- 16:05Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, some of the spots that Raphael talked about with you there uh are on the more visual side.
- 16:12Sean McAllister: So if you want to go and check out this interview on our Vegas Revealed YouTube channel, um, you can see everything that Raphael was uh talking about and why it's so visually uh appealing to step out into everywhere that Nevada has to offer that's outside of Las Vegas.
- 16:33Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: Um, and I had it written down and I can't find it, and I don't think it's in the story, so I was gonna say it's such a good conversation and we didn't really plan it.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: But he was telling us they have a new state drink.
- 16:45Dayna Roselli: Did we talk about this yet?
- 16:46Dayna Roselli: I don't think we did.
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: We didn't um anyway.
- 16:51Dayna Roselli: Should we do maybe take we put a pin in that and talk about it next week?
- 16:54Sean McAllister: Yes, because I feel like we could go down a whole separate road with that.
- 16:58Dayna Roselli: We need to I wrote it down somewhere and and I wanted to talk about that.
- 17:02Dayna Roselli: So yeah.
- 17:03Dayna Roselli: Put a pin in that one.
- 17:04Dayna Roselli: Next time we'll talk about the new drink.
- 17:07Sean McAllister: Oh, now I alcoholic drink.
- 17:09Sean McAllister: So much stuff flooding into my head about that.
- 17:12Sean McAllister: So I'm excited to talk about that next week.
- 17:14Dayna Roselli: But yeah, we have more than 600 ghost towns.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: Um, there's a lot to see and do, as you just heard Rafael talking about.
- 17:20Dayna Roselli: So definitely, you know, hop in the car or get on a quick plane ride to the northern part of Nevada or visit with the people, as he said.
- 17:27Dayna Roselli: We've got a lot to do.
- 17:29Sean McAllister: Well, I can't believe it's actually here, but it's Valentine's Day weekend.
- 17:33Sean McAllister: And in Las Vegas, there's there are lots of options, whether uh there's restaurants offering special dinner menus, drink menus that are changing up at a lot of lounges and bars.
- 17:47Sean McAllister: Um, but we have a couple ideas starting at Fountain Blue, Las Vegas.
- 17:51Sean McAllister: Mark Anthony is kicking off his first ever Las Vegas residency here.
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I believe we talked about this in the past, but he's gonna be doing English version songs, Spanish, and gosh, you know, he's got some great little love songs, some spicy songs.
- 18:05Dayna Roselli: So um Sean and I are going.
- 18:07Dayna Roselli: We're going on the 13th, tomorrow night.
- 18:09Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 18:10Dayna Roselli: Tomorrow night.
- 18:10Dayna Roselli: Uh if you listen to the podcast on Thursday, it would be tomorrow.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: We're going on February 13th.
- 18:14Dayna Roselli: So we'll have more of a recap.
- 18:15Dayna Roselli: And we did chat with him earlier in the week, so we'll have all that next week, but just FYI.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: If you want to see Mark Anthony this run, because he's back again in the summer, it's Valentine's Day weekend, and then the following weekend as well, he's got a bunch of dates.
- 18:29Dayna Roselli: So um, welcome to the strip.
- 18:31Sean McAllister: Yeah, we're excited about Mark.
- 18:33Sean McAllister: Also, um, this is something unique over at Ellis Island.
- 18:37Sean McAllister: I think uh if you recall, we did an interview over there and uh stopped over when they opened up the deck rooftop bar and lounge.
- 18:47Sean McAllister: Which was uh they opened it up just before uh Formula One came to town.
- 18:54Sean McAllister: Um and it they activated it for Formula One.
- 18:57Sean McAllister: Well now they're activating it and turning it into Cupid's deck for Valentine's Day and really even beyond from February 11th, so it's already started through uh Sunday, March 1st.
- 19:11Sean McAllister: Cupid's deck is going to be transformed with lots of Valentine's Day themed decor.
- 19:17Sean McAllister: There's gonna be some photo moments, uh, they'll offer some Valentine's Day inspired cocktails and shareable food items.
- 19:26Sean McAllister: Um, they're also doing what they're calling the cuddle package, and this is for the month of February, and uh you get uh a blanket so you can cuddle up with your sweetie, you get two winter cocktails or a bottle of wine, and you get uh chocolate chip cookies and milk for 50 bucks.
- 19:46Dayna Roselli: I mean, that's a steal.
- 19:47Dayna Roselli: That's great.
- 19:48Sean McAllister: An absolute steal.
- 19:49Sean McAllister: So when people talk about, I know we've mentioned this before, but um people talk about wanting value for their dollar when they come to Las Vegas, and I don't think you get much more value than that.
- 20:01Dayna Roselli: No, that's great.
- 20:02Dayna Roselli: And the view and all that.
- 20:04Dayna Roselli: They always do really great things at Ellis Island, and I I mean it's smart because you need to some you need to find ways to pull people off the strip.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, when people come to Vegas, a lot of times if they haven't done their research or they haven't been here before, um, or they're returning after they've only experienced the strip, they don't realize we have amazing things off the strip too, but like just a couple blocks off the strip.
- 20:27Sean McAllister: Yeah, like easy to get to.
- 20:28Sean McAllister: And this is uh the deck is part of a multi-million dollar renovate property-wide renovation that Ellis Island is doing over there.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's great.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: And locals love it too.
- 20:39Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, this isn't just for the visitors, it's also obviously big, big for the locals.
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: So it's something to do.
- 20:44Dayna Roselli: And you can't beat that view, like you said.
- 20:46Sean McAllister: No, you can.
- 20:46Sean McAllister: It's a unique view of the strip that you don't get when you're on the strip.
- 20:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:51Sean McAllister: Hey, let's do some celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 20:57Dayna Roselli: Uh-uh, oh my gosh.
- 21:01Dayna Roselli: That song gets stuck in your head, and it also opened the Grammys the other night.
- 21:06Dayna Roselli: And, you know, it features Bruno Mars, one of our Las Vegas headliners, and he is kicking off a tour uh coming up and uh soon actually in the spring.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: And the first stop is here in Las Vegas.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: So we're excited.
- 21:21Dayna Roselli: We saw Bruno on the Grammys.
- 21:23Dayna Roselli: He opened up the show with that song, and with uh he sings that with Rose.
- 21:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and she's from Blackpink, right?
- 21:30Dayna Roselli: And then, you know, it was up for like best song and stuff or pop song, one of the categories, and a bunch of different stuff.
- 21:36Dayna Roselli: Um, but Bruno also performed his newest single, and people were on their feet for that performance.
- 21:42Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 21:44Dayna Roselli: I loved it, and I feel like it's just a little taste of what that what that tour is gonna be like.
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be good.
- 21:49Sean McAllister: I mean, listen, anytime Bruno Mars steps on stage, you know it's going to be just a good time.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: Is.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: I mean, there's a reason why his shows at Park MGM uh we've talked about it before.
- 22:06Sean McAllister: It's one of the shows where you have to have your phone locked up.
- 22:10Sean McAllister: So people are present, people are dancing.
- 22:14Sean McAllister: Whether you like know every lyric to a song that he's performing or not, he still makes you want to be involved in the performance.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there's some it's so like it's very floaty, like and flowy.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: Like I feel like he just makes it look so effortless.
- 22:31Sean McAllister: He does.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: Right?
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: There's like this effortless, I'm just here to play for you, but you're so entertained and captivated.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: Can't take your eyes off it.
- 22:41Sean McAllister: Um he sucks his audience in fully.
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: Him and you know, the whole band, really.
- 22:47Dayna Roselli: They're great.
- 22:48Dayna Roselli: And so this tour is gonna be super popular, but we get to experience it first here in Las Vegas, April 11th.
- 22:56Dayna Roselli: Um I know what people already are saying, like, I need to get tickets.
- 23:01Dayna Roselli: Uh, I can't, you know, you can't hold off too long because these tours sell out quick, these tour shows.
- 23:06Sean McAllister: Bruno definitely will.
- 23:07Sean McAllister: And I know we've already gotten messages from uh listeners and viewers who wrote us immediately when this was first announced, and they were like, Oh, got my tickets already.
- 23:18Sean McAllister: I'm gonna be there.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: I should look that up and see how much they are.
- 23:21Dayna Roselli: We need to get in.
- 23:21Dayna Roselli: I know that we put things off too because we get so busy.
- 23:24Sean McAllister: We do.
- 23:25Sean McAllister: We announce all these things, we talk about all these shows, and then by the time we actually get around to uh looking into getting tickets, it's like, oh, sorry.
- 23:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's already sold out.
- 23:37Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 23:38Dayna Roselli: So we we need to take we take our own advice a lot.
- 23:41Sean McAllister: We need to take our own advice.
- 23:43Dayna Roselli: Um wait a minute, is he April?
- 23:44Dayna Roselli: Did they add a Friday?
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: Was it always two?
- 23:47Dayna Roselli: Wait a minute.
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: Las Vegas, Las Vegas.
- 23:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think I don't know if this is is this new April 10th and 11th.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: Maybe it always was that way.
- 23:55Sean McAllister: Standby.
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: Standby.
- 23:58Dayna Roselli: Well anyway, maybe they added a day.
- 24:01Dayna Roselli: And maybe we just missed that note.
- 24:03Dayna Roselli: Or maybe he was always doing two and we're terrible.
- 24:09Dayna Roselli: Stand.
- 24:10Sean McAllister: Oh no, it was always 10th and 11th.
- 24:12Dayna Roselli: Okay, alright.
- 24:12Dayna Roselli: So he's got a ticket limit.
- 24:14Sean McAllister: You can only buy six tickets per account when you log on to buy tickets.
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: Okay, there you go.
- 24:21Dayna Roselli: So two nights.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: Two nights.
- 24:23Dayna Roselli: We had the so April 10th, 10th.
- 24:25Dayna Roselli: We kept saying the 11th.
- 24:26Dayna Roselli: The first night is the 10th.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: That's when the tour kicks off.
- 24:29Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: Great.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: 10th and 11th at Allegiance Stadium.
- 24:33Sean McAllister: So if they're limiting how many tickets you can get, obviously they're anticipating a complete sellout.
- 24:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, for sure.
- 24:41Sean McAllister: For the romantic tour with Bruno Mars.
- 24:44Sean McAllister: So all right.
- 24:45Dayna Roselli: Well, Lorna Luft.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: We've talked about her before.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: Uh, we interviewed her at the opening of the Wizard of Oz at Sphere.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: She is the daughter of Judy Garland.
- 24:56Sean McAllister: And she is doing a kind of a Wizard of Oz experience.
- 25:00Sean McAllister: This is a talk, sh kind of a not a talk show, but it's like a speaking engagement.
- 25:08Sean McAllister: Right.
- 25:09Sean McAllister: Where, you know, you share stories and take questions from the audience.
- 25:14Sean McAllister: Um, she's doing that at the Venetian, which has a you know great proximity.
- 25:18Sean McAllister: It's right next door and attached to uh the sphere, so it makes a lot of sense for her to be there.
- 25:23Sean McAllister: Lorna Luft is doing stories of the wonderful Wizard of Oz and her mother, Judy Garland.
- 25:29Sean McAllister: I love that.
- 25:29Sean McAllister: This is at the Palazzo Theater inside the Venetian on Saturday, March 14th, and Sunday the 15th.
- 25:36Sean McAllister: Each of these uh engagements is at 4 p.m.
- 25:39Sean McAllister: And she'll be doing a lot of intimate storytelling centered around uh her life with her mom, Judy Garland, her recollections of uh the Wizard of Oz and the important role that the movie played in her family, in her upbringing, and obviously in her mother's legacy.
- 25:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, when she stopped to talk to us, or was it she was not quick, she wanted to talk about this.
- 26:03Dayna Roselli: You could tell she has stories to tell, she's proud of it, and I think this is great that she's gonna be able to share that with the public.
- 26:10Dayna Roselli: And because The Wizard of Oz is a classic, everyone knows of all ages, I feel like, but now it's just like this renewed surge during this time with the sphere film and how well it's doing.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: This is this is gonna be perfect, I think.
- 26:25Sean McAllister: It really is.
- 26:26Sean McAllister: And Lorna Luft is an actress, a singer, Emmy nominated producer.
- 26:31Sean McAllister: She has done Las Vegas shows throughout the years, so she is no stranger to Las Vegas stages.
- 26:39Sean McAllister: So I think she's gonna be right at home.
- 26:41Sean McAllister: Yeah, it'll be great for audience.
- 26:43Sean McAllister: I mean, it's gonna be such a cool thing if you go and see Wizard of Oz at Sphere and then get a ticket to see Lorna Left and hear all these stories.
- 26:53Sean McAllister: I mean, what a great only in Vegas experience you'll have.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it'd be great.
- 27:00Dayna Roselli: And just to be there and and listen to her story.
- 27:03Dayna Roselli: She's she's wonderful.
- 27:04Dayna Roselli: I was very impressed when we interviewed her.
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: I really enjoyed her.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she's lovely.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: Um, listen, next week we are going to be talking, and we we keep saying it, but we got a lot to talk about.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: The dauber bingo at Circus Circus and that the new Elvis movie, our interview with Mark Anthony, but we can only fit in so much.
- 27:20Dayna Roselli: And next week, um, or actually this week that you're this is running, we had like a pretty busy week, so we had to record this a little bit ahead, but we've always got stuff down the pipeline.
- 27:29Dayna Roselli: So you can count on us.
- 27:31Sean McAllister: You can.
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: We hope you enjoyed our interview with John Knight last week from New Kids on the Block.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: They're back in town as well with shows this February, and they have shows Valentine's Day weekend.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: There's so much to do in Las Vegas, as always.
- 27:44Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 27:44Sean McAllister: And as always, thank you to the Vegas Near Me app for uh being a longtime sponsor of the Vegas Revealed podcast.
- 27:53Sean McAllister: You can find the Vegas Near Me app in the uh Google Play Store and in the Apple App Store.
- 28:01Sean McAllister: Also, uh Vegas Near Me just launched a brand new redesigned website that has everything in the app and more uh at Vegasnearme.com.
- 28:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: They they have a so much information on there, really.
- 28:17Dayna Roselli: If you are booking a trip or coming to Vegas, I mean, you need to spend some time on that site.
- 28:23Dayna Roselli: The app's great.
- 28:25Dayna Roselli: And I know people love to use their phone, but if you just like sitting down at the computer, you need to go to this website because it's great and how it puts everything together for you the whole nine.
- 28:34Sean McAllister: Yeah, especially when you're in the planning stages, uh, go and just look around and then download the app so you can bring it with you on the go when you're uh moving around town once you're here.
- 28:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we have a lunch with the folks at Vegas near me coming up.
- 28:49Dayna Roselli: Um, so once we get the skinny on all the new little perks and little features they have going on, we'll talk about that next week.
- 28:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 28:56Sean McAllister: Hey, uh we will be back next week with episode 308.
- 29:02Sean McAllister: We'll talk to you then.
