- 0:53Speaker 1: Daniel Reyes!
- 0:58Speaker 2: Wow! Way to roll that R. Good job.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I'm impressed.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I appreciate that.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I cannot roll my R's, so I'm pretty bad.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 2: How you been, man?
- 1:11Speaker 1: I'm good. I'm good. Isn't that a prerequisite for being
- 1:14Speaker 1: able to speak Spanish is rolling your R's? You would think. Yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 2: But there's some of us that cannot.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Okay. Okay.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 2: It happens.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Doing good. Yeah. Doing good.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Not a lot going on this week. Just kind of
- 1:30Speaker 1: chilling out and watching football. Nice. Watching Michigan win, watching
- 1:35Speaker 1: Ohio State lose, and the Lions start today. So, woo-hoo!
- 1:39Speaker 2: No, there you go. You're a happy boy now.
- 1:42Speaker 1: That's right. How you doing? How's your week going?
- 1:45Speaker 2: I'm good. I'm good. Just a lot of craziness, but
- 1:48Speaker 2: good crazy. Okay. Yeah, I'm excited about it. Yeah, we'll
- 1:53Speaker 2: see what happens with me in the future. But so far,
- 1:55Speaker 2: so good.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Anyways.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Stuff you're going to All right, all right.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Hopefully we'll have some stuff to talk about later.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I can't really get into it just yet, but the
- 2:03Speaker 2: film stuff is going well. I'll put it that way.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Good.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Outstanding.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Yeah. But, yeah, we got Star Trek news, like you said.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Dan also sent in a video, so we'll probably do
- 2:17Speaker 2: that during the main topic. We'll play his video because
- 2:20Speaker 2: it goes along with that. So, yeah. Should we get
- 2:25Speaker 2: into Star Trek news?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Yeah, let's do it. Let's do it. Star Trek news.
- 2:30Speaker 1: All right.
- 2:30Speaker 2: So our first news story comes to us today from
- 2:32Speaker 2: Star Trek or TrekCore.com. Let me pull this up right now.
- 2:39Speaker 2: And yeah, I don't know if you saw this, but
- 2:41Speaker 2: a whole set of the Center Seat 2 has been
- 2:46Speaker 2: released by the Nacelle Company. They're the ones who make
- 2:49Speaker 2: the Star Trek action figures right now. And yeah, so
- 2:53Speaker 2: it's pretty cool. The Nacelle Company released all of Center
- 2:56Speaker 2: Seat 2. It's five episodes of little mini Star Trek documentaries.
- 3:02Speaker 2: They're all on YouTube right now on the nacelles YouTube channel. Um,
- 3:06Speaker 2: but I'll put this link up in our show notes
- 3:09Speaker 2: and it's got every episode right there. Um, it's pretty cool. I,
- 3:13Speaker 2: you know, I haven't seen these yet. I know a
- 3:15Speaker 2: lot of people have been mentioning them and really liking them.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I was thinking maybe after, uh, strange new worlds, maybe
- 3:21Speaker 2: we can go through these. Might be fun.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Love to. Yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So, But yeah, so they're up there. They're great. You know,
- 3:29Speaker 2: hopefully people can enjoy them. Have you had a chance
- 3:32Speaker 2: to watch any of them?
- 3:33Speaker 1: No, I haven't. I haven't watched them yet.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's fine. Whatever.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But yeah.
- 3:39Speaker 4: All right.
- 3:39Speaker 2: So our next news story comes to us from News
- 3:42Speaker 2: 8 Now. I believe this is a news station in
- 3:46Speaker 2: New York. And you know what? News stations are a
- 3:50Speaker 2: little bit more forgiving, so we can just play the story.
- 3:53Speaker 2: And I think people will like that. So let's play it.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Prosper has been in our orbit for 60 years. And
- 3:59Speaker 5: to celebrate the show's anniversary, fans gathered this week at
- 4:02Speaker 5: the Science Museum in London. Nearly 1,000 people, many decked
- 4:07Speaker 5: out in costume, joined in to break a Guinness World Record.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Congratulations, everyone.
- 4:12Speaker 2: You are officially amazing.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Participants now hold the title for most people performing a
- 4:18Speaker 5: Vulcan salute simultaneously. A nod to Spock's memorable greetings.
- 4:23Speaker 1: New York Fashion Week.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so there you go. Bringing together. Oh, that's cool.
- 4:29Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and the guy that plays Scotty on Strangers in
- 4:32Speaker 2: Worlds was there for it, too.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:35Speaker 2: There you go.
- 4:35Speaker 6: Cool.
- 4:36Speaker 2: A bunch of fans broke the record.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Oh, look at that.
- 4:38Speaker 2: A-Wolf is saying, good morning, my fellow Trek casters. Hey,
- 4:41Speaker 2: good morning.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Good morning. All right.
- 4:44Speaker 2: And then our last news story. You know, I'm very
- 4:47Speaker 2: excited about this because at last the best Star Trek
- 4:50Speaker 2: show has finally returned to us. And according to TrekMovie.com,
- 4:58Speaker 2: Star Trek Scouts is back, baby.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:01Speaker 2: The second season has returned. It is on YouTube. These
- 5:04Speaker 2: wonderful three-minute episodes are out and loving every minute of it. Finally.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Kapla.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Kapla, indeed. I mean, I would say we should review these, but,
- 5:13Speaker 2: you know, you can't review greatness.
- 5:15Speaker 1: No, I mean... Yeah, we really don't do those kind
- 5:19Speaker 1: of positive reviews on this show anyways.
- 5:21Speaker 2: We are unworthy of such magnificence.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 5:25Speaker 2: So for those of you who want to watch Star
- 5:28Speaker 2: Trek Scouts and behold the wonder, go for it. It's
- 5:30Speaker 2: out there.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah. Okay.
- 5:34Speaker 2: It's the best Star Trek show.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I haven't seen any of the episodes.
- 5:38Speaker 2: They destroyed a giant booger planet in one of the episodes.
- 5:42Speaker 1: That's good.
- 5:42Speaker 2: How do you not get better than that?
- 5:45Speaker 1: That's disgusting. Yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Hey, well, where's Dan? Is he picking up his new
- 5:50Speaker 2: Space Force dress uniform?
- 5:52Speaker 1: Yes. Actually, I believe he is. Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 2: You'll see a video of him in just a few moments.
- 5:57Speaker 2: And that's been everything.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Have you seen the new Space Force dress uniforms?
- 6:01Speaker 2: I've seen so many memes of it.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Okay. All right.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I'm not going.
- 6:07Speaker 1: To use the word on the show, but they're reminiscent
- 6:10Speaker 1: of 1930s and 40s. Yeah. Yes. Yeah.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Now, Scouts is the same episode every time.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Great. That's what you mean.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It's the.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Yes.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Right. Right.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 1: All right.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Okay, well, yes, that's all the news. Should we get
- 6:31Speaker 2: to the main topic?
- 6:33Speaker 1: I have some news. I would be remiss if I
- 6:37Speaker 1: did not say I volunteer at the concession stand during
- 6:40Speaker 1: the football games. My son's in the marching band. And
- 6:44Speaker 1: our football team, well, both football teams really broke a
- 6:48Speaker 1: Michigan record for the highest scoring high school football game
- 6:52Speaker 1: in Michigan ever. Oh, wow. I believe it was 76-77.
- 6:58Speaker 2: That's a basketball score.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it was insane. The game was great. They did
- 7:04Speaker 1: a nice little tribute to 9-11 at the beginning. National
- 7:10Speaker 1: Anthem and everything. The game lasted for almost four hours.
- 7:15Speaker 1: But I just had to give a shout out to
- 7:17Speaker 1: the Matawan Wildcats.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Oh, wow. That's great.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Also, I just found out there's a do you know
- 7:24Speaker 1: about this? There's a Star Trek podcast, a Spanish language
- 7:28Speaker 1: Star Trek podcast called Pod Trek.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I did not know about this.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Pod Trek.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Pod Trek.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yes. So our, listen. Yes.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Yes.
- 7:37Speaker 1: It's a, cause I was looking up like, you know,
- 7:39Speaker 1: doing the telenovela kind of thing, you know?
- 7:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:41Speaker 1: And I was looking like, you know, some Spanish words
- 7:45Speaker 1: and things. And I came up with a, if you're
- 7:48Speaker 1: looking for a Trek cast in Spanish, there's a Spanish
- 7:50Speaker 1: language podcast, a Star Trek podcast called, uh, Pod Trek.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I'm like, huh, okay. So if we have any Spanish
- 7:58Speaker 1: language people in our audience and you want to check
- 8:02Speaker 1: out a second podcast, Pod Trek.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I will have to check that out. That's awesome.
- 8:09Speaker 1: You'll have to give us a review.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I might have to. Might, yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 1: All right.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Well, yeah, then on that note, let's get to the
- 8:19Speaker 2: main topic. Fun will now commence. Alright, so our main
- 8:27Speaker 2: topic is we have two episodes to review because we
- 8:29Speaker 2: were gone last week. We have Stranger World Season 7,
- 8:33Speaker 2: or Season 4, Episode 7, and Season 4, Episode 8.
- 8:39Speaker 2: So yeah, there's the first one, which was the soap
- 8:43Speaker 2: opera episode, because they're all gimmicks.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Yep.
- 8:47Speaker 7: Next!
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yeah. Papples says muy bien.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Yes, muy bien. Very good.
- 8:55Speaker 8: Yeah, man.
- 8:56Speaker 2: So this episode, basically, Trillane has shown up and is
- 9:02Speaker 2: creating just havoc on the Enterprise and making them live
- 9:07Speaker 2: through soap opera tropes, right? We had all the tropes.
- 9:10Speaker 2: We had the evil twin. We had amnesia. All these
- 9:19Speaker 2: soap opera tropes were played out on the Enterprise. Pike
- 9:23Speaker 2: was the only one who realized that It wasn't reality.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Something was going on.
- 9:28Speaker 1: For reasons, by the way. Because Treelane was confused by this.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Because when an omnipotent god-like being wants to alter everybody's personalities,
- 9:39Speaker 1: of course he doesn't have the power to do it
- 9:40Speaker 1: on one person.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and they never really explained why Pike didn't fall
- 9:46Speaker 2: for it. It was just, it didn't work, and that's it.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Well, it's possible because, like, you know Magneto's helmet?
- 9:52Speaker 7: Uh-huh.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Well, Pike's hair. does the same thing.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Ah, yes, yes.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, so.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I would have laughed at the did do that. If
- 10:01Speaker 2: they had said, whatever product uses in the hair blocks Trillane.
- 10:06Speaker 1: This should have been the dream episode. And the dream
- 10:12Speaker 1: episode should have been the Trillane episode. You know, I'm sorry.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Puppet episode. The puppet episode should have been the tree
- 10:19Speaker 1: lane episode. Does that make more sense? Well, the fact
- 10:21Speaker 1: that it made more sense.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah, because I got a new sound effect for this
- 10:26Speaker 2: episode because I was very frustrated that it was all
- 10:28Speaker 2: it was all a dream, you know?
- 10:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:33Speaker 2: That was frustrating to me. And the fact that we've
- 10:35Speaker 2: got two episodes this season that are dream episodes.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah, this should this should have been this should have
- 10:41Speaker 1: been the dream episode and the puppet episode should have
- 10:43Speaker 1: been the tree lane episode. Yeah, it would have made
- 10:46Speaker 1: much more sense.
- 10:48Speaker 2: It would have made much more sense because you could
- 10:51Speaker 2: even add a thing where they were like in the
- 10:55Speaker 2: in the rec area watching soap operas and somehow they all,
- 10:58Speaker 2: you know, had a delusion of soap opera.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Like, yeah.
- 11:03Speaker 2: And it would have been a.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Nice callback to like, you know, maybe somebody made like
- 11:06Speaker 1: in Voyager when B'Elanna made the television for for Tom.
- 11:10Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Watching TV. It could have been a nice little callback.
- 11:14Speaker 2: You know what you could have had is, what's her name?
- 11:18Speaker 1: Peli.
- 11:19Speaker 2: She likes soap operas. Oh, yeah. She's got all the
- 11:25Speaker 2: ancient Earth stuff anyways.
- 11:27Speaker 9: Yep.
- 11:28Speaker 1: They could have done something where there was some sort
- 11:32Speaker 1: of telekinetic thing going throughout the ship. Like they used
- 11:36Speaker 1: to do with the Betazoid episodes in Next Gen.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Oh, I got it. Okay, here's how you do it.
- 11:41Speaker 2: So she's had a long shift. She's so excited because
- 11:45Speaker 2: she's going to go home, back to her quarters. She's
- 11:48Speaker 2: going to watch her stories, right? And then her TV's
- 11:51Speaker 2: not working, and so she's tweaking it. And as she
- 11:54Speaker 2: tweaks it, somehow it sends out a signal, and it
- 11:56Speaker 2: makes everybody fall into a soap opera.
- 11:59Speaker 1: There you go. There you go.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Yeah. And then it keeps changing because she's tweaking with it,
- 12:06Speaker 2: and that's why, like, different– characters have different you know
- 12:09Speaker 2: situations and the whole time it's just her messing with her.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Tv right yeah you called it her stories i think
- 12:16Speaker 1: that's what every grandmother called so that's what i.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Mean yeah her stories yeah yeah jacob says it's an
- 12:22Speaker 2: edibles episode.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Yeah yeah definitely 100 100 yeah but he did like
- 12:32Speaker 1: that they got that actress as the um I don't
- 12:34Speaker 1: remember her name, but she's famous from a lot of
- 12:37Speaker 1: soap operas.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Yeah, The Counselor.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and then we had Ethan play Cybok,
- 12:44Speaker 2: which was interesting. I guess that's a callback to originally
- 12:49Speaker 2: Leonard Nimoy wanted to play Cybok.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Okay, okay.
- 12:51Speaker 2: And so that's what it's a callback to.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Twinsies.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:57Speaker 1: We did have a callback to Kelto from Voyager.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yes, yes we did. That was kind of fun.
- 13:02Speaker 1: A high-definition digital Kelto.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Yes, yeah.
- 13:05Speaker 1: That was kind of cool.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and then, yeah, there's that actress you were talking about.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Right.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Yeah, which, I mean, good for her to get a job,
- 13:14Speaker 2: but man, this episode was so rough for me.
- 13:17Speaker 1: What's up with her uniform?
- 13:18Speaker 2: Yeah, her uniform's kind of cool.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I like it. It's kind of like, I don't know,
- 13:23Speaker 1: it's kind of like a mix between Dr. Crusher kind
- 13:26Speaker 1: of thing going on, smock, and like a dress uniform
- 13:29Speaker 1: kind of thing, so it's like a more formal.
- 13:32Speaker 2: It's kind of a lab coat, but not quite either.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Professional.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yeah. I dig that. I like that outfit.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah. It's pretty cool.
- 13:38Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 13:39Speaker 2: And then, uh, true late. I noticed something. Uh, I
- 13:42Speaker 2: don't know if I can get.
- 13:44Speaker 1: A better photo.
- 13:45Speaker 2: No, not just that, but if you really look at
- 13:47Speaker 2: his outfit, he's basically wearing fancy sweatpants.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:52Speaker 2: And then he's got like the V neck dude is
- 13:55Speaker 2: just like ultra lounged and then just fancy jacket over
- 13:59Speaker 2: the top. And that's it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Yup.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I like it.
- 14:02Speaker 1: It's like he came into work that day. He's like,
- 14:04Speaker 1: I'm not changing. Just give me a cloak or a
- 14:06Speaker 1: jacket or something.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll just throw it over and no one will notice.
- 14:11Speaker 2: And he was right.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and some deck shoes. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:16Speaker 2: It just, oh man, this episode just really, like I
- 14:18Speaker 2: was so annoyed with it and just disappointed, you know.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't, it wasn't great. And talk about it
- 14:27Speaker 1: so much. And there was a lot of online stuff.
- 14:29Speaker 1: You're wasting episodes. On these little bottle episodes.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and I do those postings to get people's opinions
- 14:37Speaker 2: on it. And honestly, it was like an 80-20 split.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Like 80% of the people did not like it.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Right, right. And I noticed with some of these bad
- 14:45Speaker 1: episodes too, there's a lot of comments. Like 500. We
- 14:51Speaker 1: have like a decent episode, there's not a ton of comments,
- 14:53Speaker 1: but we have crap like this and there's a crap
- 14:56Speaker 1: ton of comments.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Well, everybody likes to complain.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Everybody loves to complain.
- 15:00Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 2: We need a Lego episode.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Sure.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Why not?
- 15:04Speaker 1: At this point, we need a Lego episode and a
- 15:07Speaker 1: vampire episode. Why not?
- 15:11Speaker 2: A sports one.
- 15:12Speaker 1: A sports episode. Why not?
- 15:15Speaker 2: We had the baseball one in DS9.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Why not?
- 15:16Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Well, maybe they can run into the Alamarine alien. Perfect. Yes. Perfect. Yeah.
- 15:26Speaker 1: They could do that. All right.
- 15:28Speaker 2: So, yeah. So that was that episode. It just was
- 15:30Speaker 2: not overall. The fandom did not like it. It was
- 15:34Speaker 2: a pretty rough one to watch. It just did not
- 15:36Speaker 2: make a lot of sense. Nope. But you know, it's
- 15:39Speaker 2: over now.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Filming it must've been interesting for the crew and the cat.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Jazz was a little rascals.
- 15:45Speaker 1: They already did that next gen.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Crews get turned into animals episodes.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Sure. Why not?
- 15:53Speaker 2: An animal episode. Yeah, let's do it. Yeah.
- 15:57Speaker 1: It would be interesting to see a, um, Remember the
- 16:01Speaker 1: next-gen episode, Genesis, when the crew de-evolves? Oh, yeah. That
- 16:06Speaker 1: would be interesting to see with 2026 technology.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Oh, that would be cool.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I wouldn't mind that.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Okay. All I've been going to say I've got to
- 16:15Speaker 1: do is just alter somebody's RNA sequence. That's how it works, right?
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:19Speaker 8: Okay.
- 16:20Speaker 1: See, I could be a doctor.
- 16:20Speaker 2: There we go.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Okay. All right.
- 16:23Speaker 2: And then we had also episode eight. What was the
- 16:26Speaker 2: name of that one? Orders of Magnitude.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Orders of Magnitude.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Yeah, this one was far more well-received, I will say that.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I liked it.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah, if it was an 80-20 split for the last one,
- 16:39Speaker 2: I would say it's an 80-20 split on this one
- 16:41Speaker 2: as well, but 80% of the people liked it. And actually,
- 16:47Speaker 2: maybe this is a good point to play Dan's video
- 16:50Speaker 2: before we get into the review.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do that.
- 16:54Speaker 6: Dan, just wanted to record a quick message for you all.
- 16:59Speaker 6: I can't be on the show today. We do not
- 17:03Speaker 6: live in the 24th century. We do not live in
- 17:06Speaker 6: a socialist utopia, in a post-scarcity society. We still require
- 17:14Speaker 6: people to trade their time for currency, to then trade
- 17:21Speaker 6: for goods and services such as food, housing, clothing, etc.,
- 17:25Speaker 6: Long story short, I got to work today. Still got
- 17:28Speaker 6: to pay the bills. Got to work today. Can't be
- 17:30Speaker 6: on the show. But I wanted to say hey. Acknowledge
- 17:34Speaker 6: that we got a pretty decent episode of Star Trek
- 17:39Speaker 6: this week. I mean, they did go back to the
- 17:42Speaker 6: all admirals are evil trope.
- 17:44Speaker 2: But I don't know.
- 17:45Speaker 7: It was good.
- 17:46Speaker 6: It's nice to see Miles Bennett Dyson again in a
- 17:51Speaker 6: story that doesn't involve AI. But anyway, I hope to
- 17:53Speaker 6: be back next week. Uh, no promises, but, uh, in
- 17:57Speaker 6: the meantime, live long and prosper.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Boy.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Yeah. So thanks Dan. We appreciate, we appreciate it. We'll
- 18:05Speaker 1: have you on the show again soon.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 18:07Speaker 2: And he liked the episode, so that's good.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Um, um, you know, I would be remiss if I
- 18:12Speaker 1: didn't mention this though. Okay. I, I think I understand
- 18:17Speaker 1: why he always, why Dan Lombardo always wears sunglasses on
- 18:23Speaker 1: his the podcast. What is that? I think that his big,
- 18:28Speaker 1: beautiful blue eyes would just be distracting. And we wouldn't
- 18:33Speaker 1: be able to get through an episode. He's got those intense,
- 18:38Speaker 1: you know, big blue eyes.
- 18:39Speaker 2: He does.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, yeah, keep wearing those sunglasses because if
- 18:45Speaker 1: you do an episode without those sunglasses, I don't think
- 18:47Speaker 1: I'll be able to get through it. That's right. I'll
- 18:49Speaker 1: be fixated on the blue eyes. There you go. So.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Nice.
- 18:54Speaker 1: All right, moving on.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Okay, so this episode, very much inspired by Crimson Tide,
- 19:04Speaker 2: kind of naval-type movies, submarine-type movies. The whole idea was
- 19:10Speaker 2: that there was an invisible ship that they were trying
- 19:13Speaker 2: to track, and this Admiral Miles Dyson, I forget what
- 19:17Speaker 2: they called him on the show, he basically came on
- 19:21Speaker 2: the ship and was like, hey, I'm taking over. We're
- 19:23Speaker 2: going to go after this ship and we're going to
- 19:26Speaker 2: destroy it because it killed a bunch of people and
- 19:29Speaker 2: we have to stop it. And he's doing this while
- 19:32Speaker 2: Pike and most of the bridge crew are down on
- 19:37Speaker 2: an SOS mission that had nothing to do with the
- 19:40Speaker 2: other ship. Just happenstance that they weren't there. Like I said,
- 19:46Speaker 2: a lot of people liked this episode. Scott, I assume
- 19:50Speaker 2: you liked it?
- 19:51Speaker 1: I did. Yeah, I thought it was great.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I'm in the minority. I had major problems with this episode.
- 19:58Speaker 2: And I can get into it.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Please.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Some of my big problems is in writing, in
- 20:07Speaker 2: TV writing, your, your subplot and your main plot are
- 20:13Speaker 2: supposed to connect.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 20:15Speaker 2: So the fact that the, the pike in the cave
- 20:18Speaker 2: and all that didn't match up to anything. It was
- 20:21Speaker 2: just a separate episode. It was literally two episodes matched together.
- 20:25Speaker 2: That could have been done better. You know, um, the
- 20:30Speaker 2: other thing that I, that I really had a problem
- 20:32Speaker 2: with is a lot of the logic gaps in this show,
- 20:36Speaker 2: in this episode. Um, we have seen repeatedly throughout the
- 20:41Speaker 2: episodes this season that the crew kind of just does
- 20:44Speaker 2: whatever the hell they want. And, and Pike kind of
- 20:47Speaker 2: just shrugs your shoulders and really doesn't have any discipline
- 20:51Speaker 2: on his, on his ship.
- 20:52Speaker 1: You know?
- 20:53Speaker 2: And then, so when this Admiral shows up and says, Hey,
- 20:56Speaker 2: we're going to straight up murder an entire planet to
- 21:00Speaker 2: stop this ship. And everyone goes, cool.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:05Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 2: And, and, and, yeah this guy when he's just like
- 21:08Speaker 2: yeah we're gonna murder that whole planet there's like 5
- 21:10Speaker 2: 000 people and they're all gonna die and everyone's like
- 21:12Speaker 2: all right can we shoot him now basically yeah even
- 21:18Speaker 2: even spock is on board spock who later uh will
- 21:23Speaker 2: tell kirk that you know we can't let the klingons
- 21:25Speaker 2: die and kirk is the one who's like hey we
- 21:28Speaker 2: need to stop this admiral who also in the movies
- 21:31Speaker 2: is like hey we need to kill all.
- 21:32Speaker 1: The klingons right exactly you know it's.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Kirk is the one that doesn't want genocide when in
- 21:38Speaker 2: the movies he does.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Right. Right. Yeah.
- 21:42Speaker 2: There's just, it's, it's so bad. That was my frustrations
- 21:46Speaker 2: with it.
- 21:47Speaker 9: Right.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:48Speaker 2: I couldn't get past. I think you could have handled
- 21:52Speaker 2: those things better. I think you, you could have, if
- 21:55Speaker 2: you had put that, this guy was like, like, let's
- 21:58Speaker 2: say maybe your main actors are like, Hey, you, you
- 22:01Speaker 2: can't do this Admiral. Like you can't go kill those people.
- 22:04Speaker 2: And he's just like, all right, you're, You're all on
- 22:06Speaker 2: the brig for insubordination. And he throws them, and then
- 22:09Speaker 2: we just get, like, new characters that are taking over.
- 22:13Speaker 2: So you show that, like, hey, dictators kind of just
- 22:16Speaker 2: will take yes men, and they don't really want to be,
- 22:18Speaker 2: you know.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:19Speaker 2: You do that. Yeah, I kind.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Of saw where they were going. They kind of were
- 22:24Speaker 1: going with the pilot, I guess, because you could see
- 22:31Speaker 1: that he was kind of buttering her up a little bit.
- 22:34Speaker 1: And she was soaking it in. And I think that's
- 22:37Speaker 1: where you get sort of the loyalty from her. And
- 22:40Speaker 1: I think this guy, I think Miles Dyson played a good,
- 22:45Speaker 1: he seemed like he was playing an admiral that was
- 22:47Speaker 1: a legend, but hadn't been in the captain's chair in
- 22:51Speaker 1: a while. Because that's just kind of how he played it,
- 22:55Speaker 1: it seemed like. And then I did like the subplot
- 23:00Speaker 1: of the whole Kirk- like a George Kirk senior thing,
- 23:06Speaker 1: the backstory with that. And this, this Admiral, uh, I
- 23:09Speaker 1: thought that was kind of interesting. Cause I don't know.
- 23:12Speaker 1: We all, you know, we were, I'm looking at the
- 23:14Speaker 1: show and there's so many timelines to go through. Cause
- 23:17Speaker 1: my wife was like, wait a minute, didn't George Kirk die?
- 23:20Speaker 1: And I'm like, well, that was the Kelvin timeline. Cause
- 23:22Speaker 1: we're all familiar with the Kelvin timeline, George Kirk. Right.
- 23:26Speaker 1: But there, I don't, a lot of, some people haven't
- 23:29Speaker 1: seen the original series or no, Yeah, that.
- 23:32Speaker 2: George Kirk thing actually was another thing that frustrated me, right?
- 23:36Speaker 2: Because they say in the show that this admiral was
- 23:41Speaker 2: incapacitated and George Kirk took over the ship and he's
- 23:45Speaker 2: the one who fought that battle and got all the success, right?
- 23:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:51Speaker 2: So, but somehow this admiral took all the credit and
- 23:54Speaker 2: was like, yeah, no, I'm the badass that did everything.
- 23:58Speaker 3: How?
- 23:58Speaker 1: How?
- 23:59Speaker 2: If everyone on the bridge is taking orders from George Kirk,
- 24:05Speaker 2: are they not going to just be like, well, he's
- 24:07Speaker 2: the one who gave us the orders, and this other
- 24:09Speaker 2: guy was knocked out?
- 24:11Speaker 1: Yeah, wasn't there a reason why George Kirk let it happen?
- 24:14Speaker 2: I can see on paperwork, but you're going to have
- 24:17Speaker 2: all these other people saying that's not what happened. That
- 24:19Speaker 2: doesn't make sense.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Now you're making me not like the episode. Yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Well, that's what I mean. There was huge logic gaps.
- 24:26Speaker 1: It was like, well, that doesn't fit. Right.
- 24:30Speaker 2: You know, and then is George Kirk not going to
- 24:32Speaker 2: tell his kids like, oh, yeah, no, that was really me,
- 24:35Speaker 2: you know?
- 24:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess that makes sense. I guess.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Like, because that would have made a little
- 24:42Speaker 2: bit more sense, at least, because then, you know, Kirk
- 24:45Speaker 2: and his brother could have been like, well, that's not
- 24:47Speaker 2: the way dad told it.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 24:50Speaker 2: You know, and then they could have like they looked
- 24:52Speaker 2: at the paper. Well, dad maybe lied to us, you know,
- 24:54Speaker 2: like like almost like a betrayal. And then like they're
- 24:57Speaker 2: not sure. And then they find out.
- 24:59Speaker 9: Right. Yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 1: And they could have caused more conflict between.
- 25:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 1: George and Jim. Yeah.
- 25:07Speaker 2: And then like, yeah, like George could have been like, well,
- 25:09Speaker 2: you know, hey, or the brother could have been like, well, hey,
- 25:13Speaker 2: maybe dad was just making it up. And, you know, he,
- 25:16Speaker 2: you know, he'd like to tell stories. And then Kurt
- 25:18Speaker 2: could have been like, yeah, he exaggerated, but he never lied.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Right. You know, you're always defending dad. You're always against.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Yeah. In that dynamic.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Right. Yeah.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Right. I think that's more sibling-like than what they had
- 25:31Speaker 1: going on.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Well, and it's more like actual families, you know?
- 25:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 25:36Speaker 2: So it would have made more sense. It would have
- 25:38Speaker 2: filled that plot hole, basically. So, yeah, that was my
- 25:43Speaker 2: issue with this episode, man. It was like so many
- 25:46Speaker 2: plot holes throughout it.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Well, thanks a lot. Now I don't like the episode.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Way to go, Daniel. I'm sorry, man. I know.
- 25:55Speaker 3: I know.
- 25:55Speaker 2: 80% of the people out there loved it. They were
- 25:58Speaker 2: all like, oh, this episode was so great. Would it
- 26:00Speaker 2: return to normal Star Trek? And I was like, no, guys.
- 26:03Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. I wanted to like it. I think
- 26:06Speaker 2: what it was is the acting performances were really good.
- 26:09Speaker 6: Yes.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Yep.
- 26:11Speaker 2: They were really good. These guys, like, they took this
- 26:14Speaker 2: material and elevated it for sure.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Yep.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Yep. These are all great actors.
- 26:22Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Every one of them is a great actor. They really...
- 26:25Speaker 1: they take the material, they take what they're given and
- 26:27Speaker 1: they really make the best.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Do their best with it. Even during the silly episodes.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I mean, I can only imagine during like the, the,
- 26:36Speaker 1: the puppet episodes and especially the, the melodrama that, that
- 26:40Speaker 1: was the, the other episode. Um, that's gotta be hard
- 26:44Speaker 1: to act, you know, when you're like, ah, yeah, that's
- 26:47Speaker 1: gotta be hard. Yeah. Yeah.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:50Speaker 1: But, you know, kudos, kudos to them, you know? Yeah.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Oh, Ross Mack. They gave the Admiral the credit, then
- 26:58Speaker 2: promoted him to get him out of the captain's seat,
- 27:01Speaker 2: then made George Kirk's life a living hell with constant
- 27:04Speaker 2: reassignments whenever he asked for short leave.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:10Speaker 2: But still, it doesn't make sense that people were taking
- 27:13Speaker 2: orders from George Kirk and no one's going to say
- 27:16Speaker 2: anything and just let the Admiral take credit?
- 27:19Speaker 1: Right.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Like, that's not the Starfleet way, right?
- 27:23Speaker 1: No, not at all. Not at all.
- 27:26Speaker 2: They would want the truth. And then these guys in
- 27:28Speaker 2: the cave with their tons of equipment, like, what does
- 27:34Speaker 2: that have to do with anything?
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, because you're right. Usually, like in Next Gen, the
- 27:40Speaker 1: B story is a separate story, but ties into the
- 27:43Speaker 1: A story.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:44Speaker 1: And the only way this tied into the A story
- 27:47Speaker 1: is they just weren't available. Yeah.
- 27:50Speaker 2: What you could have done, right, Because I'm imagining that
- 27:54Speaker 2: invisible ship was supposed to be a Romulan ship.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Even though they kept saying, oh, it's the Klingons, or
- 28:01Speaker 2: it's this.
- 28:02Speaker 1: No, they kept saying it cloaks like a Klingon, but... Yeah, okay,
- 28:05Speaker 1: that's where I got that from. Okay.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Yeah, so it was supposed to be the Romulans or whatever.
- 28:10Speaker 2: But you could have had these guys being like a proto-Mawki, right?
- 28:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Maybe they wanted their own independence, and so that's why
- 28:21Speaker 2: they had tech from everybody. And so maybe they were
- 28:23Speaker 2: working with the Romulans to just kind of have their
- 28:26Speaker 2: own independence.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Yeah, you could have kept Mandorians. Yeah. That would have
- 28:30Speaker 1: been fine.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and so you could have been like, oh, you know,
- 28:35Speaker 2: we don't like you, Federation. We just need these things
- 28:38Speaker 2: so we can have our independence. You know, we've got
- 28:41Speaker 2: more teeth than you think. Like, something along those lines,
- 28:44Speaker 2: so it did tie up.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Or even sprinkle in a Romulan or two into their group,
- 28:49Speaker 1: you know? Well.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Okay, so that would break the canon because nobody had
- 28:52Speaker 2: seen a Romulan until Kirk, right? Like a hundred years
- 28:57Speaker 2: or something?
- 28:57Speaker 1: Yeah, or maybe there could have been a Romulan in
- 28:59Speaker 1: the background as their leader or something. Yeah, I get
- 29:03Speaker 1: what you're saying.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Or they could have looked at the Vulcan girl that
- 29:06Speaker 2: was there and been like, wait, is she one of them?
- 29:09Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Or they could have.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Been hesitant to hurt her. When she got shot, I'm like, oh,
- 29:16Speaker 1: are they going to get rid of her now? She's
- 29:18Speaker 1: just starting to get interesting and then At the end
- 29:20Speaker 1: of the episode, they're like, oh, she's leaving the ship
- 29:23Speaker 1: and Uhura feels horrible about it. Right. Oh, speaking of Uhura,
- 29:27Speaker 1: let's talk about she got a promotion.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Yeah, she got a promotion.
- 29:30Speaker 1: That's great. Yeah. Which made me think of something else.
- 29:35Speaker 1: And it has nothing to do with this episode, but
- 29:38Speaker 1: with 2009. Star Trek. Jim Kirk is a lieutenant commander.
- 29:48Speaker 1: His career trajectory makes much more sense than J.J. Abrams
- 29:54Speaker 1: Kirk's career trajectory. Remember, he went from cadet kirk to
- 30:01Speaker 1: captain kirk in like three hours that's right he was
- 30:06Speaker 1: a cadet at the beginning of that movie yeah he
- 30:10Speaker 1: was captain kirk at the end of that yeah right
- 30:13Speaker 1: that doesn't happen.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Yeah acting captain or whatever yeah.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Right but they gave him a yeah they gave him
- 30:20Speaker 1: the commission like yeah here you go you're a smart
- 30:22Speaker 1: kid no yeah yeah mike was like you could you
- 30:26Speaker 1: could uh Be an officer in four years. You can
- 30:29Speaker 1: have your own ship at eight. In what military does
- 30:33Speaker 1: that happen?
- 30:34Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 30:34Speaker 2: I was going to say eight years was pretty fast.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Maybe you could have your own runabout.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Right. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. So, yeah, I'm assuming at the
- 30:47Speaker 1: end of this season, we're going to see a promotion
- 30:49Speaker 1: for Kirk, maybe, or at the beginning of the commander.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. Well, and Una was
- 30:55Speaker 1: a lieutenant commander. commander. I didn't realize that in a
- 30:57Speaker 1: couple episodes ago that she got promoted to full commander.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. It was funny, too, when the Admiral was like, alright,
- 31:04Speaker 2: who's the top ranking officer? Well, Kurt, because he came
- 31:08Speaker 2: for a doctor's appointment.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Yeah, what?
- 31:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:13Speaker 1: It kind of reminded me of how Worf showed up
- 31:16Speaker 1: on all the TNG movies.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:20Speaker 1: At first, they were like, well, he was on the Defiant.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I would have thought, too, when the Admiral showed
- 31:25Speaker 2: up and he's like, Where's the first officer? Where's the captain? Oh,
- 31:27Speaker 2: they're on this SOS mission. You don't think he would
- 31:30Speaker 2: have been like a little annoyed by that? Like, why
- 31:33Speaker 2: are they both gone?
- 31:34Speaker 1: Right, right. Well, that was before Starfleet apparently had the
- 31:38Speaker 1: rule of, you know, captains don't beam down on a way.
- 31:41Speaker 1: But yeah, I guess it's only been an operation for
- 31:44Speaker 1: 100 years. Yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 2: They finally figured that one out. All these captains keep
- 31:50Speaker 2: dying on different worlds, huh?
- 31:52Speaker 1: Right.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Maybe we should stop that.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Maybe we shouldn't said all of our. senior officers
- 31:57Speaker 1: on one shuttle to an unknown dangerous mission. Yeah.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Instead of letting Billy have to drive it back home.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Right.
- 32:06Speaker 2: First year Billy.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Yeah. Who was the senior Enterprise officer on board the ship?
- 32:16Speaker 2: It was Spock.
- 32:17Speaker 1: It was Spock. Okay.
- 32:19Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 32:20Speaker 1: And he's a lieutenant.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but didn't... I thought they made some illusion that Actually,
- 32:25Speaker 2: Imbanga outranks Spock, but on the bridge, Spock is the
- 32:29Speaker 2: higher level because of the structure of how the ship operates.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Well, yeah, that could be because the next gen, you know,
- 32:37Speaker 1: like the doctors and the counselor, like Dr. Crusher, I believe,
- 32:41Speaker 1: is a full commander. Data is the third officer or
- 32:44Speaker 1: second officer, even though he's a lieutenant commander. So I
- 32:46Speaker 1: think it's a positional thing, not necessarily a rank thing.
- 32:49Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't know.
- 32:51Speaker 2: It's a space starship. Like, it's whatever they want it
- 32:55Speaker 2: to be.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Right. Well, it's like in the military, like, doctors, you know,
- 32:58Speaker 1: doctors are usually high-ranking people because they have real jobs.
- 33:03Speaker 6: Right.
- 33:03Speaker 1: And the rest of the people in the military, you know,
- 33:05Speaker 1: just have kind of their made-up jobs.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Yeah, but I guess, like, in a situation, you wouldn't
- 33:10Speaker 2: turn to the doctor and say, hey, what do we
- 33:11Speaker 2: do now?
- 33:12Speaker 1: Right, right, exactly. So, yeah, it's a positional thing. Yeah. Okay.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Well, yeah, so... Like I said, I was frustrated with
- 33:20Speaker 2: this episode. I know a lot of people liked it,
- 33:22Speaker 2: and if I ruined it for you, I'm so sorry.
- 33:25Speaker 1: There were a lot of callbacks. I was looking through
- 33:29Speaker 1: some of the trivia. The watch that Lan wears is
- 33:34Speaker 1: the same watch that she got in Canada back in 2020, whatever.
- 33:41Speaker 1: They mentioned General Order 24. Apparently, that was mentioned before
- 33:45Speaker 1: in the original series. The quarter is in Canada. The
- 33:49Speaker 1: new drug that Mbenga talks to Kirk about, the one
- 33:53Speaker 1: that makes the Admiral itchy and irritable. That's the same
- 33:57Speaker 1: drug that McCoy was accidentally got OD'd on during the
- 34:03Speaker 1: City on the Edge of Forever that made him all,
- 34:06Speaker 1: you know, crazy.
- 34:07Speaker 2: You know, that was another thing, too, is like, okay,
- 34:10Speaker 2: this guy isn't doing anything that's mutiny worthy, but let's
- 34:13Speaker 2: drug him and make it happen. Like, what?
- 34:16Speaker 1: Right. There's got to be some... Oh, wait a minute. No,
- 34:20Speaker 1: there's not going to be any fallout from that.
- 34:22Speaker 2: No, there won't be. No.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Kirk's not going to get demoted. And Bang is not
- 34:27Speaker 1: going to get demoted.
- 34:28Speaker 2: The next episode is called One Lawn at a Time.
- 34:31Speaker 2: So it's going to be another gimmick. I have no
- 34:33Speaker 2: idea what.
- 34:34Speaker 1: It's another dream or another fantasy episode.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Are you saying that the next one is going to be...
- 34:38Speaker 2: It was all a dream!
- 34:40Speaker 1: Yes, I'm saying that. Very much so.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Could be.
- 34:46Speaker 1: They already filmed season five.
- 34:48Speaker 2: They did. There's already rumors that season five is full
- 34:51Speaker 2: of big swings, which, honestly, who knows?
- 34:56Speaker 1: I mean, they know. You took some big swings this season,
- 34:59Speaker 1: and you missed the ball by a mile. Indeed.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Indeed. That makes me think that right now.
- 35:06Speaker 1: But never fear. I'm sure there's tons of announcements for
- 35:08Speaker 1: new Star Trek projects, series, and movies just around the corner. Right, Daniel?
- 35:13Speaker 2: There are not. You know what we sound like right now? Oh,
- 35:18Speaker 2: a fat, sarcastic Star Trek fan. You must be a
- 35:22Speaker 2: devil with the ladies. Just saying, that's what we sound
- 35:26Speaker 2: like right now.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Very much so. I don't know. Can this be saved?
- 35:32Speaker 1: Can Strange New Worlds be saved?
- 35:35Speaker 2: You know, it depends on what they did for the
- 35:37Speaker 2: last episodes. I don't know.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Because tomorrow's... Enterprise, the week after next, looks very interesting.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it's almost over.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Next week is the penultimate episode of season four. It's
- 35:53Speaker 1: almost over.
- 35:54Speaker 2: And then we'll go over our predictions and see how
- 35:56Speaker 2: right we were or how wrong we were.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Oh, boy. I haven't even looked at it.
- 36:02Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I have a feeling. I have a feeling that
- 36:06Speaker 1: we took some big swings, too.
- 36:08Speaker 2: I think so, too. I think so, too.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Oh, well.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:11Speaker 2: It'll be fun.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:14Speaker 2: So, yeah, that's the episode. It happened. We'll see what
- 36:20Speaker 2: happens next week.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:21Speaker 2: But, man, like, I want to like this show so much,
- 36:25Speaker 2: and I have such a hard time with it. And
- 36:27Speaker 2: I think my other problem is, like, I'm watching this
- 36:30Speaker 2: in relation to, like, Lanterns, where Lanterns has a lot
- 36:34Speaker 2: of good logic, and they explain things, and they make
- 36:38Speaker 2: it make sense.
- 36:39Speaker 8: Yeah. I got that.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I got the Green Lantern ring. Yeah. It's a good show.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a good show. So it's so hard because
- 36:48Speaker 2: you watch one and then you go to the next
- 36:51Speaker 2: and it's just, ah, it's rough, baby.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I have to get a palate cleanse whenever I
- 36:56Speaker 1: watch Strange New Worlds. I have to watch, you know,
- 36:58Speaker 1: I have to watch Reacher or Ted Lasso or Green Lantern.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Something. Yeah, it's rough. And then, like, I'm in the
- 37:09Speaker 2: middle of, like, trying to do film stuff so like
- 37:11Speaker 2: i am hyper focused on like how much you have
- 37:14Speaker 2: to pay attention in story structure and yeah all these
- 37:17Speaker 2: things and it's it's like they could be doing so
- 37:20Speaker 2: much better yeah you know.
- 37:22Speaker 1: You're like the wine snob for for tv episodes.
- 37:25Speaker 2: A little bit yeah.
- 37:28Speaker 1: You know your palate is your nose has that sense
- 37:31Speaker 1: for you know you know oaky floral smells yeah and
- 37:35Speaker 1: you're not getting that from strange new world strange new
- 37:38Speaker 1: worlds does not have that oaky floral smell that you're looking.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Indeed yes jazz jazz is giving me crap they're gonna
- 37:45Speaker 2: paint a naked man this week what the hell are
- 37:46Speaker 2: you talking about i mean you're not wrong with lantern
- 37:51Speaker 2: yeah he's like that that guy walked out he's like
- 37:54Speaker 2: i got a place for you to put that ring.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Yeah are we gonna see guy gardner we we sort
- 38:01Speaker 1: of saw him in the shadows he's.
- 38:02Speaker 2: In the previews he's in the previews in one of
- 38:04Speaker 2: them okay i don't know when but yeah yeah and
- 38:07Speaker 2: then there's a rumor that uh Superman shows up in
- 38:10Speaker 2: the finale.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Really? That'd be cool. That's the rumor. I'd like to
- 38:14Speaker 1: see that. Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I kind of have a feeling it's one of those
- 38:17Speaker 2: things that people are throwing everything out there and eventually be.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Like, oh, I got the one thing right. I got
- 38:22Speaker 1: the one thing right. Yeah. Yeah.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yeah. We'll see.
- 38:26Speaker 1: All right.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Well, X up in the chat if you want to
- 38:29Speaker 2: join us and we should probably get to listener feedback.
- 38:31Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Listener feedback. All right. Yeah. So we have listener feedback.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Yeah, if you want to be part of the listener feedback,
- 38:41Speaker 1: all you got to do is join our YouTube as
- 38:45Speaker 1: we're doing the show live. And when Daniel says X
- 38:48Speaker 1: up in the chat, he literally means just get in
- 38:49Speaker 1: the chat and type the letter X. And he'll send
- 38:53Speaker 1: you a link to get on the show, and you
- 38:55Speaker 1: can be on the show live. And join us on
- 38:57Speaker 1: all of our social media stuff. We're at TrekCastTNG on
- 39:01Speaker 1: most of our social medias. We're on Facebook, YouTube, X, TikTok,
- 39:05Speaker 1: and Instagram.com. And if you want to leave us a voicemail,
- 39:09Speaker 1: you can call us at 570-661-0001. Leave us a voicemail.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Tell us what you think about the latest episode. Tell
- 39:18Speaker 1: us anything. We'll play it. We don't care.
- 39:21Speaker 2: We actually have a voicemail.
- 39:23Speaker 7: Oh, good.
- 39:23Speaker 2: So, yeah, let's do that.
- 39:25Speaker 8: Star Trek Stranger Worlds soap opera run. Didn't care for
- 39:31Speaker 8: it at first. Did a rewatch a couple days later,
- 39:34Speaker 8: and there's some parts I found amusing. I was hoping
- 39:37Speaker 8: more shenanigans, but.
- 39:39Speaker 1: It is what it is.
- 39:40Speaker 8: Any lawrence forget Pike had a kid, and the newest
- 39:46Speaker 8: one liked it. It felt like an actual Trek episode,
- 39:50Speaker 8: and hopefully the remaining episodes, we get more stuff like that,
- 39:55Speaker 8: and it looks like it sets up future episodes, balance
- 40:00Speaker 8: of terror, and it's kind of cool that Ohura got
- 40:03Speaker 8: promoted for getting rid of the Vulcan character, which made
- 40:06Speaker 8: no sense.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that he loved it. That's great. Good
- 40:10Speaker 2: for him.
- 40:11Speaker 1: The fact that he had the courage to watch it twice.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. My favorite thing I was thinking about as
- 40:20Speaker 2: the penguin was speaking to us is how he talks
- 40:26Speaker 2: slowly and fast at the same time. It's amazing.
- 40:29Speaker 1: I love it. Yeah. Thanks for the voicemail. Yeah, man.
- 40:35Speaker 1: I'm going to need a refresher because we're watching the
- 40:39Speaker 1: Pike's kid thing and him getting emotionally attached and I'm like, yeah,
- 40:43Speaker 1: there was an episode they talked, the The alternate tie?
- 40:48Speaker 1: Was it a....
- 40:50Speaker 3: I don't remember.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it was when Captain Girlfriend became a statue.
- 40:54Speaker 1: That's... Okay. Yes. Yeah. So, are they going to do
- 40:59Speaker 1: something with that for the series finale?
- 41:02Speaker 2: They did it.
- 41:02Speaker 1: That's it. Like, yeah, but, like, go back and somehow
- 41:07Speaker 1: he jumps back into that life and just starts living
- 41:11Speaker 1: it instead of wheelchair Pike? Oh, I don't know. Yeah, maybe.
- 41:14Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Maybe that's why he's in the wheelchair. He's thinking about that.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Right. Yeah, maybe. Maybe this life is the dream sequence.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Maybe Strange New Worlds is just one big, giant dream sequence. Yeah.
- 41:26Speaker 1: That would almost make more sense. Can you imagine?
- 41:30Speaker 2: I could see them.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Star Trek fans would burn down Paramount Studios.
- 41:34Speaker 2: No, I don't think they'd care.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Or they'd be like, whatever.
- 41:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. I could even see them do a thing
- 41:42Speaker 2: where we never see him get in the chair. But
- 41:46Speaker 2: they just allude to that's happening sometime in the future.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Oh, that'd be even worse.
- 41:52Speaker 2: And he's just like, OK, well, for now, I'm going
- 41:55Speaker 2: to continue my adventures and live life the best to
- 41:57Speaker 2: the fullest. You know?
- 41:59Speaker 1: Yes. You know, that huge giant story arc story point
- 42:03Speaker 1: plot of my life of Captain Pike. Yeah, we're not
- 42:06Speaker 1: going to show.
- 42:06Speaker 2: I mean, have they brought it up much now? No,
- 42:09Speaker 2: they don't really care. So I could see them just.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Papering over it.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Not really since Admiral Pike showed up. Remember how he
- 42:18Speaker 1: showed up in the movie uniform? Yeah, yeah.
- 42:22Speaker 9: All right.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Well, we got Jacob and Chazbiz both waiting. You know
- 42:25Speaker 2: what would be kind of fun? We bring them both
- 42:28Speaker 2: on at the same time.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Let's do it.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 42:30Speaker 1: We've got the screen space.
- 42:31Speaker 2: We're going to bring them both on. Let's do it.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Why not? There's Jacob and Chazbiz both joining us together.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on, guys? It's like a ready punch now. Yeah.
- 42:40Speaker 1: We're doing this one in curls. Yeah.
- 42:44Speaker 2: What did you guys think of the episode?
- 42:45Speaker 3: The last episode was eh.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Okay. The Crimson Tide one?
- 42:50Speaker 3: This episode, badass.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah.
- 42:53Speaker 2: So you liked it. You liked it.
- 42:55Speaker 3: I liked it. My dad even liked it.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Good.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Okay.
- 42:58Speaker 4: Good.
- 42:59Speaker 7: I'm kind of with Daniel on this episode. Yeah.
- 43:03Speaker 1: The plot holes got me, man. Yes. Yes.
- 43:06Speaker 7: The plot holes got me. And I was like, okay,
- 43:09Speaker 7: what's going on here? And how many times are they
- 43:12Speaker 7: going to defy orders this season?
- 43:14Speaker 2: Unless we're murdering a planet, then we've got to.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Obey those orders.
- 43:17Speaker 7: Hey, let Cisco do it.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Protocols don't matter no more.
- 43:21Speaker 1: You're right. They are unencumbered by the chain of command.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Yeah, they'll just.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Do whatever they want.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Let's just do whatever the hell we want.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Chain of command and cannon, they just love to throw
- 43:31Speaker 1: those out the airlock. The rules of space.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Don't mean nothing.
- 43:37Speaker 7: I wish the Admiral on the Corps jersey or whatever
- 43:40Speaker 7: he was on, I wish he would have gone as
- 43:43Speaker 7: crazy as Bones did on City of the Edge of Tomorrow.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Right? Maybe he was on a slightly lower dose.
- 43:49Speaker 7: Yeah, because when he goes through, he transports, then he
- 43:53Speaker 7: goes back in time. And it's all crazy. I actually
- 43:56Speaker 7: got to see that in the movie theater last week.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Oh, did you go? Yeah, for the 60th.
- 44:01Speaker 7: They had it with the Voyage home.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Yeah, in some theaters you can watch some of the...
- 44:07Speaker 2: the first four movies and then an episode to go
- 44:10Speaker 2: with one of the movies.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:12Speaker 4: Speaking of the first, speaking of the first few movies,
- 44:15Speaker 4: I've had this model since I was about 11 years
- 44:18Speaker 4: old at the Star Trek experience, uh, 3d, 4d back, back,
- 44:23Speaker 4: back in Vegas. Uh, it shut down like an Oh seven.
- 44:27Speaker 4: It shut down an Oh seven.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Unfortunately. Yeah.
- 44:29Speaker 3: I got, I've had this model, the damaged enterprise.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Oh, nice.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Oh, that's cool.
- 44:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:35Speaker 2: That's really cool.
- 44:36Speaker 4: I've had this for about 23 years as a snap-on edition.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Nice.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Oh, that is really cool.
- 44:42Speaker 3: I'm thinking I'd brighten up the day.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Nice.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Jasmine, what did you bring for show and tell?
- 44:47Speaker 1: Yeah. He's just looking around. We love it. He has
- 44:54Speaker 1: to pack light in the Celestial Temple.
- 44:56Speaker 2: That's true.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Well, I got the Enterprise D, but I didn't want
- 45:00Speaker 3: to show off the D.
- 45:02Speaker 2: You didn't want to show off your D?
- 45:05Speaker 1: I understand.
- 45:06Speaker 7: I did get the Lego Captain's Bridge.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Oh, did you?
- 45:11Speaker 1: I don't think I get.
- 45:13Speaker 7: To open it until Christmas.
- 45:14Speaker 4: It's Christmas sometime.
- 45:19Speaker 3: It's Christmas every year.
- 45:20Speaker 2: That's right. Every day is Christmas.
- 45:22Speaker 7: My wife's like, you weren't supposed to open that package.
- 45:25Speaker 7: I'm like, but I saw it. I shook it.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I know I showed you guys the Enterprise D Lego set,
- 45:32Speaker 1: but something I don't know if I mentioned is this
- 45:35Speaker 1: is the light kit that goes with it.
- 45:40Speaker 7: What's the name of it?
- 45:42Speaker 1: Brickling is what it's called. It's not affiliated with Lego.
- 45:49Speaker 1: It's its own company that does its own thing. You
- 45:52Speaker 1: can't build the ship and then put the light kit in.
- 45:54Speaker 1: You have to integrate the light kit into the as
- 45:58Speaker 1: you're building it so we're actually going to probably be
- 46:01Speaker 1: starting that um here pretty soon that's gonna be a
- 46:04Speaker 1: big project i'm looking yes i i will uh yeah
- 46:08Speaker 1: it's a complicated project but i will uh i'll post
- 46:12Speaker 1: updates on the uh facebook group and pictures and stuff
- 46:15Speaker 1: as i'm building.
- 46:16Speaker 2: I mean you built those shelves i'm sure you can
- 46:18Speaker 2: build the enterprise i did.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Build the shelves i'm sure i can build the enterprise
- 46:22Speaker 1: yeah especially with my wife's help yeah yeah You need
- 46:26Speaker 1: a life-size in a front. Yeah.
- 46:30Speaker 7: Your kid went to college, so you should have extra
- 46:34Speaker 7: room in the house, right?
- 46:36Speaker 1: Oh, he's back. He transferred to our local college. He's
- 46:40Speaker 1: a Western Michigan Bronco now. And they won their football
- 46:44Speaker 1: game yesterday, too.
- 46:45Speaker 3: Nice.
- 46:46Speaker 2: So much winning.
- 46:47Speaker 1: So much winning. Michigan won, Broncos won, Ohio State lost.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:53Speaker 1: So, yeah, that's right. That's right. Yeah. Unranked Michigan beat
- 46:58Speaker 1: the number four. Yeah.
- 47:01Speaker 7: No, number 11.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Number 11. That's right.
- 47:03Speaker 3: I don't want to say what my team is.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Oh, what's your team?
- 47:06Speaker 3: Don't kick me off here. Cowboys. Yeah.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 47:11Speaker 3: Cowboys team.
- 47:11Speaker 8: Sorry.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Okay. It's okay. I'm a Raiders fan. All right.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Both of you get out.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, wow.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Wow.
- 47:20Speaker 7: I'm a huge Dallas fan.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm used to losing. Shots fired. Yeah.
- 47:27Speaker 3: Phasers fired.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 47:30Speaker 2: So next week, we've got one Elan at a time.
- 47:33Speaker 2: And then after that, it's Tomorrow's Enterprise. So we've only
- 47:36Speaker 2: got two more episodes. And then this season is open.
- 47:38Speaker 3: I hope they're at least decent.
- 47:40Speaker 2: I hope so, too.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not looking forward to next week's episode.
- 47:44Speaker 3: I'm actually liking lanterns more than this series.
- 47:47Speaker 7: Right?
- 47:48Speaker 3: Lanterns is so good.
- 47:51Speaker 7: I've checked out.
- 47:52Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 47:52Speaker 8: You didn't like lanterns?
- 47:53Speaker 3: Got the lantern tattoo right there.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Oh, nice.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Wow. Oh, sweet. Yeah.
- 47:58Speaker 2: That's an awesome one. You don't like lanterns, huh?
- 48:01Speaker 1: It's all right, you know.
- 48:02Speaker 2: It's all right.
- 48:03Speaker 7: Seriously, you're going to paint a guy nude, and then
- 48:06Speaker 7: you're going to be like, do you have charcoal or paper?
- 48:09Speaker 7: And then they bring out charcoal and paper within two seconds.
- 48:12Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 48:13Speaker 1: That was... Yeah, that one threw me off and took
- 48:16Speaker 1: me out a little bit. I was like, what?
- 48:18Speaker 7: And then she goes in there and she's like, Dad,
- 48:20Speaker 7: put your dick up.
- 48:21Speaker 8: You know?
- 48:22Speaker 3: They should just have Ryan Reynolds pop up towards the end.
- 48:25Speaker 2: She's like, oh God, he's doing this again.
- 48:27Speaker 1: He's doing it again.
- 48:29Speaker 7: All his visitors get painted, I guess.
- 48:33Speaker 3: The body's green.
- 48:35Speaker 2: I like, too, that they finally explained why the hospital
- 48:38Speaker 2: had no people in it and why all the equipment
- 48:41Speaker 2: was all brand new, but At the same time, why
- 48:44Speaker 2: buy the equipment?
- 48:46Speaker 4: Is there a season two of Landers? Is that a
- 48:49Speaker 4: word yet?
- 48:52Speaker 1: No.
- 48:53Speaker 2: I don't know if there's going to be a season two.
- 48:55Speaker 2: It may just be a one-off. Yeah, just a one-off.
- 48:59Speaker 1: HBO's probably a lot more careful than Paramount is.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 49:05Speaker 7: What do you think about Gorilla Grodd right now?
- 49:08Speaker 2: Oh, dancing around? Singing a cappella? Yeah. Look, man, I
- 49:12Speaker 2: know that's not canon to the comics. I love it.
- 49:15Speaker 2: I think it's ridiculous. Just let it go.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Wait, what are you guys talking about?
- 49:22Speaker 2: Oh, you haven't seen the set videos? I posted them
- 49:24Speaker 2: in the Facebook group. There are set videos of the
- 49:27Speaker 2: new Gorilla Grodd show that they are currently shooting right now.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Is that real? I thought that was like an AI.
- 49:33Speaker 2: No, that's real.
- 49:34Speaker 1: That is the dude on set.
- 49:38Speaker 2: Singing acapella, singing all sorts of songs, dressed like a...
- 49:43Speaker 2: There's one where he's got a gold chain.
- 49:44Speaker 7: And he's probably sweating like crazy under that suit singing.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:48Speaker 7: I feel sorry for the actor. He's probably just.
- 49:51Speaker 2: There's one where he's wearing a shirt, and it's a real.
- 49:53Speaker 2: It's not AI. He's wearing a shirt that says, give
- 49:56Speaker 2: this grot a beer, and it's got the thumbs up
- 49:59Speaker 2: like this guy. Oh, no.
- 50:02Speaker 3: They're going to make a grot a bro.
- 50:04Speaker 7: No, if they do it like a... Peacemaker. That's the intro.
- 50:11Speaker 7: They changed up the intro.
- 50:13Speaker 1: This is on the set of what?
- 50:15Speaker 2: It's like Jimmy Olsen vs. Gorilla Grodd or something like that.
- 50:21Speaker 1: It's a new show.
- 50:22Speaker 3: I know Jimmy Olsen is getting his own show.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Live action?
- 50:25Speaker 2: Yeah. It's the same Jimmy Olsen from the movie.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Oh boy. I like the Jimmy Olsen from the movie.
- 50:35Speaker 2: You're going to love Gorilla Grodd. singing 90s songs acapella. Oh, boy.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Didn't Gorilla God show up on The Flash?
- 50:42Speaker 2: Huh?
- 50:42Speaker 3: Didn't Gorilla God show up on The Flash TV show?
- 50:45Speaker 2: Yeah, on The Flash show, yeah. Yes.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right. I just finished that show. That's right,
- 50:50Speaker 3: that's right.
- 50:51Speaker 2: On The Flash show, yeah, he tried to kill Obama.
- 50:53Speaker 3: I'm actually currently re-watching Legends of Tomorrow.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 50:56Speaker 2: That's a good show.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Time travel.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like the first season of that show.
- 51:04Speaker 1: And then the series ended on a cliffhanger with Booster Gold. Yes. Yeah.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Never to be. And then all the other shows were like, Nope,
- 51:11Speaker 1: not my job to fix it. Yeah. Like the show
- 51:15Speaker 1: writers on the flash literally said, yeah, we're not fixing that.
- 51:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Money at the time.
- 51:21Speaker 3: There you can just time travel back and fix it.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 51:27Speaker 3: All right.
- 51:28Speaker 2: Well, that's pretty much wrapping it up. Uh, so we'll
- 51:31Speaker 2: see you guys next week and, uh, hopefully it'll be better.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Dan back. Hopefully it'll be better. Hopefully we get Dan back.
- 51:44Speaker 7: On the soap opera episode, they said they wanted to
- 51:47Speaker 7: do it because it was cheap. They needed to save money.
- 51:49Speaker 7: The guy's like, well, I used to film soap operas
- 51:52Speaker 7: and other stuff, so we could make it like that.
- 51:54Speaker 7: I mean, a model episode.
- 51:57Speaker 3: Have an 80s themed episode.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Why not? That'd be totally rad.
- 52:01Speaker 1: 80s like A-Team. Well, they already did that. cave episode.
- 52:07Speaker 7: I guess it costs too much in costuming. It'd be
- 52:09Speaker 7: cheaper to come back in today's time like they did
- 52:12Speaker 7: in the Canada episode. And they even mentioned her watch
- 52:15Speaker 7: Kirk did on this episode.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Uh-huh. Because she got that watch.
- 52:20Speaker 7: Yeah. Nice watch, you know.
- 52:22Speaker 1: That's a man's watch.
- 52:23Speaker 3: At least we didn't get a full cave episode.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 52:28Speaker 3: Like Mariner says, it's always.
- 52:29Speaker 1: A cave episode. It's always a cave episode. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 52:36Speaker 7: They went to another planet, and you got to see aliens.
- 52:41Speaker 2: That is true. We finally got a strange new world.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Yes.
- 52:44Speaker 3: Strange new limits.
- 52:46Speaker 2: We got a strange new world, and they wanted to
- 52:48Speaker 2: blow it up.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Yay, Spertrick.
- 52:51Speaker 3: Basically.
- 52:52Speaker 7: You know, maybe that's what they ought to do. Instead
- 52:54Speaker 7: of a 24, it's the budget, and each episode, it
- 52:57Speaker 7: shows how much they spent on the episode, and it
- 52:59Speaker 7: just keeps going down.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:01Speaker 1: You know, it's like, okay, we're going to.
- 53:03Speaker 4: Maybe we can get, like, maybe an hour episode.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:05Speaker 2: Well, maybe the finale will be really good, hopefully.
- 53:08Speaker 1: They can do whatever they want to. Maybe an hour.
- 53:10Speaker 7: I mean, it's streaming.
- 53:11Speaker 1: They got money. Yeah.
- 53:13Speaker 7: So six season next season, right? And so they have
- 53:16Speaker 7: eight episodes left total.
- 53:18Speaker 2: I think next season is six. Yeah. So eight left total.
- 53:21Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 53:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Wow.
- 53:23Speaker 3: We got to wait a year.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Yeah. But don't worry. We got Star Trek Academy. Starfleet Academy.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Last season of that, too.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. Yeah.
- 53:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:34Speaker 1: You know, it's really about that sad state of affairs
- 53:39Speaker 1: when you're like, Hey, there's a new season of Star
- 53:41Speaker 1: Trek coming up. And I'm like, uh, Yeah.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Are you going to buy that? I'd rather watch Super Set.
- 53:51Speaker 1: No! In fact, when they do the Star Trek intro
- 53:54Speaker 1: now and they've got the Enterprise and the Reef Enterprise
- 53:58Speaker 1: and the Defiant, Athena's the only one that I could
- 54:01Speaker 1: never name. And the one from Academy.
- 54:04Speaker 3: Yeah. I want to mention the Voyager in the intro.
- 54:09Speaker 3: Why aren't the incels up? Why are they flat?
- 54:11Speaker 1: Because she's traveling at impulse, I guess. Yeah.
- 54:16Speaker 8: Oh, well.
- 54:17Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 54:18Speaker 1: I mean, that's the universe.
- 54:20Speaker 7: She found coffee.
- 54:22Speaker 2: Yeah, there's coffee in that time warp. I don't know.
- 54:25Speaker 1: That's right. Alright, guys. We'll see you guys next week.
