- 0:24Well, hello there, everyone.
- 0:27It's great to be with you on the
- 0:29Inspirations for Your Life show.
- 0:31I'm John C.
- 0:32Morley here, serial entrepreneur.
- 0:34Again, it is so great to be with
- 0:36everyone.
- 0:37I hope you're all having a wonderful day
- 0:39or a wonderful week, whichever that be.
- 0:42Again, it is great to be with you.
- 0:44So this is Thursday.
- 0:48It's the last day of the month, guys.
- 0:49It's April 30th.
- 0:51It is 2026.
- 0:53And again, it's great to be with you
- 0:55here.
- 0:56This is the Inspirations for Your Life show.
- 0:58If this is your very first time with
- 1:00me, I want to say thank you, and
- 1:01I want to say welcome.
- 1:03If you've been here one time or many
- 1:05times in the past, well, then I want
- 1:07to say thank you so much.
- 1:09And of course, I want to say welcome
- 1:10back.
- 1:12All right, everyone, if you're thirsty or hungry
- 1:13or parched or whatever, go ahead and get
- 1:15something and come on back to the show.
- 1:18And let's kick this off.
- 1:20All right, everyone.
- 1:21So the master topic for the week, which
- 1:23we have just one more day after today
- 1:25on, which is when direction changes because truth
- 1:28gets revealed.
- 1:29OK, I think a lot of people go
- 1:32home or give up early when that starts
- 1:35to happen.
- 1:35All right.
- 1:36A lot of people do go home and
- 1:37give up early because of that, but they
- 1:39shouldn't.
- 1:40All right.
- 1:40So welcome back, everyone, to Inspirations for Your
- 1:43Life.
- 1:44If you're wondering where you are, yes, this
- 1:46is the Daily Motivational Podcast show that helps
- 1:49you become a better version of yourself.
- 1:51Who am I?
- 1:51Oh, sure.
- 1:52I'm John C.
- 1:53Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer.
- 1:58That's right, guys.
- 2:00Podcast host, coach, graduate student, lifelong learner, and
- 2:04yes, now so grateful to be a published
- 2:07author.
- 2:08This week, we were talking all about something
- 2:11that changes everything.
- 2:12Direction does not change randomly, guys.
- 2:15Direction changes when the truth shows up and
- 2:18what you believe no longer works.
- 2:20So most people think they are stuck, but
- 2:22in reality, they are just resisting what is
- 2:25trying to reveal itself to them.
- 2:27All right, guys.
- 2:28So when resistance turns into revelation, things happen.
- 2:33So resistance signals growth and shows where expansioning
- 2:38is starting to happen and take place.
- 2:42And I think that's a very, very important
- 2:45thing for us to understand that whole concept.
- 2:52Number two, guys, discomfort creates awareness and forces
- 2:56you to see what you ignored.
- 3:00What you ignored.
- 3:02That's important.
- 3:03Number three, guys, conflict reveals truth.
- 3:08The comfort keeps hidden.
- 3:11Yeah, that's a really good one.
- 3:13Conflict reveals truth.
- 3:15The comfort keeps hidden.
- 3:19Number four, guys, pressure creates awareness that cannot
- 3:23be avoided.
- 3:25So I think sometimes people get stuck in
- 3:28the frame of, you know, what this is
- 3:30about.
- 3:31But I want to tell you this is
- 3:33really, really important because if you can understand
- 3:37this, then you can pretty much understand anything.
- 3:41But I know it can be challenging for
- 3:42some people.
- 3:43Believe me, I do know that.
- 3:47All right.
- 3:47So again, number five, struggle leads to insight
- 3:54through real experience.
- 3:56Now, I know you might be saying, John,
- 3:58you know, how can a struggle ever help
- 3:59me?
- 3:59Well, it can help you because it can
- 4:02help you to see a different pathway, a
- 4:05different way you should be going.
- 4:06And I think that's a real special, special,
- 4:10special thing.
- 4:11So yeah, definitely think about that in your
- 4:15moves as you go through life.
- 4:18All right.
- 4:18Struggle leads to insight through the real experience
- 4:21that lies ahead.
- 4:23Number six, guys, opposition strengthens understanding over time.
- 4:29It doesn't happen overnight.
- 4:30It happens over time.
- 4:32Number seven, breakdown leads to breakthrough.
- 4:37Patterns shift.
- 4:39The patterns have to shift.
- 4:41That is the key.
- 4:43Number eight, guys, confusion forces reflection and deeper
- 4:47thinking.
- 4:49Now, you might be saying, John, you know,
- 4:51what is this all about?
- 4:52How does this work?
- 4:53I think the best way to really help
- 4:55you to understand that is to know that
- 4:59we all get confused.
- 5:00We all are wondering, like, you know, which
- 5:02way should we go?
- 5:03And we're in this little bit of an
- 5:04enigma, of a maze.
- 5:05Like, you know, do I go left?
- 5:07Do I go right?
- 5:07Am I circling?
- 5:09And it causes us to go into this
- 5:11state of reflection and to think deeper about
- 5:15it.
- 5:16Number nine, guys, challenge exposes weakness that needs
- 5:20correction.
- 5:22So a challenge is there to help us.
- 5:25It's not there to harm us.
- 5:26It's not there to hurt us.
- 5:27It is there to help us.
- 5:31I think that's a very important thing, you
- 5:34know, definitely to realize with everything out there
- 5:37and everything going on today is that challenge
- 5:40is there to help us, okay?
- 5:43Challenge is there to help us.
- 5:45And if challenge is there to help us,
- 5:47then maybe we can understand the main thing.
- 5:51And the main thing is this, guys.
- 5:54The main thing is that life is meant
- 5:57to be learned.
- 5:58Life is not meant to cause confusion.
- 6:01But it does when we're learning, right?
- 6:04And I think sometimes people just, you know,
- 6:06they get frustrated with life.
- 6:08They don't want to do anymore because, you
- 6:10know, they've had situations that have been, well,
- 6:13bad cards, okay?
- 6:15And I think bad cards give people that
- 6:18problem.
- 6:19And by the way, I want to let
- 6:20you guys know we have just announced our
- 6:24first book signing for the book, which in
- 6:28case you guys didn't know about it.
- 6:29It's called Drained to Driven.
- 6:31And if you would like to attend the
- 6:34author talk as well as get a signed
- 6:36copy by me, we will have that available.
- 6:39Our first one will be on May 26.
- 6:41It will be at the Franklin Lakes Public
- 6:42Library in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey from 7
- 6:46p.m. to 8 p.m. There'll be
- 6:48a brief author talk, which will be roughly
- 6:50around 20 or 30 minutes.
- 6:51There'll be a Q&A.
- 6:52And then there'll be a few minutes to
- 6:54just lounge, linger, and network.
- 6:56And also to ask me any questions that
- 6:59you have afterwards.
- 7:00So definitely hope you'll check that out.
- 7:02Don't forget to check out BelieveMeAchieve.com.
- 7:04And also our newest resource up there is
- 7:06a website which is, yes, that resource is
- 7:11BelieveMeAchieve.com.
- 7:12So again, it is so great to be
- 7:15with everyone here today.
- 7:17Number 10, guys, tension drives change, okay?
- 7:22It drives change by removing the comfort.
- 7:25Now, I've said to you guys, when comfort
- 7:27is there, we don't move ahead.
- 7:30It's when there's friction that we become that
- 7:36better version.
- 7:37And, you know, the best way to explain
- 7:39this is, did you know, ladies and gentlemen,
- 7:40that we need friction to walk?
- 7:42We need friction to walk.
- 7:49And because the friction helps us accelerate when
- 7:53we start our walking, right, or we stop
- 7:55walking, or we change speeds while walking.
- 7:57And this is because you need a horizontal
- 7:59force to change your horizontal speed.
- 8:03And this force is friction.
- 8:05And it arises due to interactions between your
- 8:07feet and the ground you walk on.
- 8:09Therefore, by Newton's third law, the ground is
- 8:12pushed on by the friction in the opposite
- 8:14direction of your horizontal acceleration.
- 8:19So yes, I can be very grateful for
- 8:21that.
- 8:21But when we have friction, we get a
- 8:24little bit of control.
- 8:25But sometimes when there's too much friction, right,
- 8:27like if you've got a gear and there's
- 8:29too much friction, the gear is not going
- 8:31to move, right?
- 8:32It has to be rigid enough to go
- 8:34around, but it has to be not tight
- 8:35enough that it's not going to be able
- 8:37to move, right?
- 8:37We can't have that.
- 8:38So number 11, friction reveals direction through resistance.
- 8:43Of course, guys, more book signings and author
- 8:47talks are coming.
- 8:49This is just the very first one that
- 8:50we have had.
- 8:52So again, it is, again, the very first
- 8:54time that we are talking about this.
- 8:59And we're going to list all these events
- 9:02on jcmacademy.com.
- 9:06And so that's an important thing to understand,
- 9:12is that you can always learn about these
- 9:14through jcmacademy.com.
- 9:17And I think that's going to be really
- 9:19cool for everyone to get to meet everyone.
- 9:23I just got this brand new pen from
- 9:25a friend of mine, which I'm playing around
- 9:28with, and really loving the book.
- 9:31I am working on my next book, which
- 9:33is not a motivational book.
- 9:34It's actually a technology book.
- 9:39Really happy with the book.
- 9:41And I look forward to signing it for
- 9:44you.
- 9:44So if you get the book that night,
- 9:46you can get them.
- 9:47There'll be copies available.
- 9:48Or you can get it online by following
- 9:50the link, and they'll usually be shipped to
- 9:52you in less than, I think, three to
- 9:54four days.
- 9:56Number 12, obstacles refine thinking and sharpen decisions,
- 10:02okay?
- 10:03And I think that's important.
- 10:07Number 13, resistance reshapes identity.
- 10:13Resistance reshapes identity.
- 10:17And so that's important, guys, through the adaptation
- 10:24that we have.
- 10:26So we learn that friction helps us control,
- 10:28because if we don't have friction, we can't
- 10:30move, we can't stop.
- 10:32And too much friction would mean we can't
- 10:34move at all, right?
- 10:36Pain or discomfort creates an awareness.
- 10:40That awareness pushes us to demand attention.
- 10:48When I broke my TIB and FIB, it
- 10:51wasn't painful.
- 10:52I was so grateful that Lord and God
- 10:55had blocked out this pain.
- 10:59And it was just a discomfort, not a
- 11:03pain, but just an uneasiness in the fact
- 11:08that I couldn't walk.
- 11:09But all the pain had been blocked out
- 11:13of where I broke.
- 11:15So that was kind of like a miracle
- 11:18in itself.
- 11:18So I was very grateful for that.
- 11:20Number 15, guys, truth emerges under stress when
- 11:24pressure builds.
- 11:25So truth will emerge under stress when pressure
- 11:30builds.
- 11:31And I think that's an important piece for
- 11:34us to understand.
- 11:37And know, right?
- 11:40That's important.
- 11:45And I think understand that we can have
- 11:49a conversation of where we are and maybe
- 11:54where we're going, right?
- 11:56Maybe that's a good idea.
- 11:58Number 16, growth requires struggle to create strength.
- 12:02So when we struggle, when we are pushing
- 12:06to get better muscles or to gain greater
- 12:10skill and dexterity, we are in a part
- 12:15of discomfort, but we are building something.
- 12:18So next easier, that's what we have to
- 12:22keep the workouts slightly harder.
- 12:25All right, guys.
- 12:26Number 17, difficulty develops clarity through persistence.
- 12:33Persistence is a real key, okay?
- 12:39And so that's a very important thing.
- 12:44Most people give up on persistence.
- 12:46You know why?
- 12:48Because everyone else is giving up on their
- 12:51persistence.
- 12:51I said the people that are successful, the
- 12:55only difference between the successful people and the
- 12:56non-successful people is the successful people have
- 12:58just learned to hang on a few seconds
- 13:01longer.
- 13:02That's it, guys.
- 13:03That's the only difference.
- 13:06Number 18, resistance is information.
- 13:10It's not failure.
- 13:13All of this is data, guys.
- 13:15And the data can help us become a
- 13:18version of ourselves.
- 13:22And I think that's a wild thing because
- 13:25if we know that we can become better
- 13:29and it might take some resistance, then that
- 13:31can change our life, okay?
- 13:36That can change our life.
- 13:41And it's important to know that.
- 13:46It's important to know what it means and
- 13:49what can happen.
- 13:53I know that it's pretty interesting.
- 13:57And by being pretty interesting, I mean that
- 14:01this is something that you can actually change.
- 14:10You can actually impact in your life.
- 14:12But other people around you might cause you
- 14:14to say, oh, I can't do that.
- 14:16Don't let the other people around you discourage
- 14:18you.
- 14:19Number 19, awareness follows conflict when truth is
- 14:24revealed.
- 14:25When the truth is revealed, okay?
- 14:28Not all the time.
- 14:30It's when the truth is revealed.
- 14:32And I think that's an important thing that
- 14:34most people don't understand that.
- 14:36They don't understand what that means, okay?
- 14:43And so when people know this, they sometimes,
- 14:51well, they tend to go a little easier
- 14:54on themselves.
- 15:01And the thing is, when you start new,
- 15:04it's like you're afraid to make a mistake,
- 15:09right?
- 15:10And then once you're going and you're not
- 15:13getting where you want to be, you're like,
- 15:14I don't know if I should keep doing
- 15:15this.
- 15:16Should I change my direction?
- 15:19Oh, if you're not getting where you want
- 15:20to be and it's been a little while,
- 15:22yeah, of course.
- 15:25But change is sometimes harder than starting or
- 15:29stopping.
- 15:30Everybody can stop.
- 15:32But change is about readapting to the environment,
- 15:40acclimating.
- 15:40That's not easy to do.
- 15:43Number 20, guys, insight follows pressure through experience.
- 15:48Through experience, I said.
- 15:51That's important, guys, through experience.
- 16:03And you might be saying, John, I don't
- 16:05know why, but it's totally the truth.
- 16:08It's totally the truth.
- 16:19And I know what a lot of you
- 16:20are saying.
- 16:25Pressure is something you don't want.
- 16:27But you see, a good amount of pressure
- 16:29is good.
- 16:30Like in a pressure cooker, we just have
- 16:32to monitor our pressure.
- 16:34We can't have a pressure getting out of
- 16:35control.
- 16:36Number 21, change follows discomfort when action is
- 16:42taken.
- 16:43Change follows discomfort when an action is taken,
- 16:47right?
- 16:48If you're doing something and it's not comfortable,
- 16:52and now you make a change, right?
- 16:56Because of that action, or you take an
- 17:00action because of the change you want to
- 17:01make, things get better.
- 17:14And I think that's hard for a lot
- 17:15of people to understand.
- 17:17Number 22, clarity follows confusion through reflection.
- 17:24I think
- 17:40it's important to realize that reflection comes when
- 17:47things aren't working.
- 17:50But you need to reflect.
- 17:51Even when things are working, you want to
- 17:52look at how well things are going and
- 17:54if you should make a change.
- 17:55Because you could always do something better.
- 17:58People always reflect, or people only pray when
- 18:00they have a problem.
- 18:01But why don't they do this like normally,
- 18:03like every day?
- 18:04Just do it when they have an issue.
- 18:07Number 23, strength follows resistance through endurance.
- 18:12Yeah.
- 18:13Number 24, wisdom follows experience over time.
- 18:18Wisdom will follow experience over time.
- 18:26And I think when we can know that,
- 18:28and know that it's not happening all overnight,
- 18:30I think a lot can change for us.
- 18:35Okay?
- 18:39A lot can change for us.
- 18:41And I can tell you that's something that
- 18:45a lot of people, like, don't understand.
- 18:51All right?
- 18:52A lot of people just don't understand that
- 18:54whole concept.
- 18:55They don't know what it means.
- 19:02And that might cause you to be a
- 19:05bit confused.
- 19:10But when we reflect on things, life becomes
- 19:14easier.
- 19:14Life gets better for us.
- 19:17Okay?
- 19:19It gets better because we now understand what's
- 19:24going on.
- 19:25We now understand why things are changing in
- 19:28our lives.
- 19:29But they don't happen overnight.
- 19:33Okay?
- 19:39I think that's important.
- 19:42Number 25, growth follows pressure when embraced.
- 19:46When it's embraced, it works.
- 19:56And pressure being embraced is really another way
- 20:01of saying it is being monitored.
- 20:02That's another way of saying, you know, that
- 20:05same thing.
- 20:06Number 26, direction follows struggle with persistence.
- 20:12Direction follows the struggle with persistence.
- 20:15So when we direct out of a struggle,
- 20:21which only happens when we get persistence.
- 20:24If we don't get that, then our life
- 20:26doesn't change.
- 20:28It just sort of stays staggered or it
- 20:29goes backwards.
- 20:30Number 27, transformation follows breakdown in rebuilding.
- 20:35A lot of people don't want to rebuild
- 20:39because they need to break down.
- 20:45Because they need to break down.
- 20:48Because they need to break down.
- 20:58Does that make sense?
- 21:05And I know some of you are saying
- 21:06to me, John, I don't mind that.
- 21:09Well, if you have to start over and
- 21:11you have to unlearn what you know or
- 21:13restart, that could be a very, very big
- 21:16problem for you.
- 21:17So a lot of people fear the art
- 21:19of breaking down.
- 21:23Number 28, awareness follows tension in key moments.
- 21:28Now, it's only in the key moments.
- 21:31Why don't we have awareness outside?
- 21:33I think it's because that tension just causes
- 21:37us something to do.
- 21:47Does that make sense?
- 21:57I think that's an important thing to know.
- 21:59Number 29, understanding follows conflict through processing.
- 22:07Through processing.
- 22:25And I think when we process something, we
- 22:29can't always get the answers we want immediately.
- 22:31We have to think about that, right?
- 22:38We have to think about that.
- 22:39And I think that's important to know, right?
- 22:42Very important to know.
- 22:47Very important.
- 22:49Processing happens when we start to understand something,
- 22:55okay?
- 22:56But we don't get all the efforts of
- 23:00our thinking or our processing overnight.
- 23:02We just don't.
- 23:04Number 30, revelation follows resistance when truth is
- 23:10accepted.
- 23:12When it's accepted.
- 23:23When it's accepted.
- 23:35Does that make sense?
- 23:46And I think when we can realize that
- 23:49moment, that epiphany of life, things can change.
- 24:03Does that make sense to you?
- 24:19And I think when we can realize that
- 24:22where we stand is important.
- 24:27We may want all the answers tomorrow.
- 24:30We're just not going to get them tomorrow.
- 24:32And the sooner we know that, the sooner
- 24:34things will be a lot better, all right?
- 24:40When we take time, right?
- 24:44We save nine, which was to save mistakes.
- 24:47But we become more aware the slower we
- 24:50do things, whether it's eating, drinking, whether it's
- 24:54walking, hiking, whatever it is, we can become
- 24:58more aware.
- 25:00And I think that's something a lot of
- 25:02people have in their life, but they get
- 25:03scared of being aware.
- 25:08They get scared of being aware.
- 25:14And the reason they get scared is that
- 25:18they learn a side or they learn something
- 25:21about themselves that they didn't know.
- 25:24And then they get a little bit worried
- 25:26about what that means to them.
- 25:32What that means to them is a very,
- 25:34very big problem.
- 25:36It's not a problem.
- 25:37It's just that they don't have a certainty
- 25:41about where they're going in life.
- 25:44I think that's probably our biggest problem is
- 25:47they don't have the certainty.
- 25:48And when they don't have a certainty, then
- 25:51things sort of change, right?
- 25:55They sort of change.
- 25:57And again, they don't change overnight, guys.
- 26:01They change in the time that it takes,
- 26:06which could be a while, which could be
- 26:09a while.
- 26:13And I know what you're probably saying, right?
- 26:22You're saying, no, that's not right.
- 26:24I think most people
- 26:35understand one thing.
- 26:40They understand that they're stuck.
- 26:45But a lot of times they don't want
- 26:46to admit that they are stuck, right?
- 26:49They don't want to admit they're stuck.
- 26:56And while this is like that, people are
- 26:59like, I don't know what I should be
- 27:01doing.
- 27:02I don't understand.
- 27:05I think that can be, they just get
- 27:12lost.
- 27:19And I think it's important to know, okay?
- 27:35I think when we take time, our life
- 27:41switches into a different perspective, a different moment,
- 27:45one that we didn't think was going to
- 27:47exist.
- 27:48And so what are you resisting right now
- 27:51is my question.
- 27:52Is it something to avoid or something you're
- 27:55trying to guide toward?
- 27:56See, most people stay stuck, not because they
- 28:00lack ability, but because they ignore what resistance
- 28:02is trying to teach them.
- 28:05Direction changes when truth is accepted.
- 28:09And it's important to know that.
