Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: There is no other story in the UK right now.
- 0:02Speaker 1: It's MiGs it or as our listeners are calling it,
- 0:05Speaker 1: Mentrey because Harry and Meghan are coming home back to
- 0:10Speaker 1: the UK and we are talking security arrangements with Vincent
- 0:13Speaker 1: Mecavnnie our UK You correspondent Vincent nice tyview on the show.
- 0:16Speaker 1: What's Andy Burnham been saying about this Good Morning?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Well, Andy Burnham has been saying it is a private
- 0:23Speaker 2: matter when it comes to their security, and that he
- 0:27Speaker 2: wishes the family well in their move home. As we
- 0:30Speaker 2: understand it, the move will take place, we think in
- 0:32Speaker 2: the next two weeks in order for the kids to
- 0:34Speaker 2: be here in time to start the new school term.
- 0:37Speaker 2: They're enrolled in a school, but we're being told we
- 0:40Speaker 2: won't be told where the school is and where it
- 0:42Speaker 2: is they're going to be moving to because of security
- 0:44Speaker 2: concerns and the rights privacy of the children. Now everyone
- 0:47Speaker 2: suspects that they'll be moving probably to the Cotswolds, which
- 0:50Speaker 2: is an area sort of just outside of London between
- 0:53Speaker 2: London Knoxford. It's incredibly pretty. Lots of celebrities have homes
- 0:57Speaker 2: there and that would give them a sort of base
- 1:00Speaker 2: from which they could come in and do stuff in
- 1:02Speaker 2: London if they wanted, but also have quite a countryside
- 1:05Speaker 2: lifestyle away from the cameras. So we'll see in the
- 1:08Speaker 2: next few days whether we get any more details. But
- 1:10Speaker 2: this news has been a massive shock and we are
- 1:14Speaker 2: waiting to see whether or not the Committee RAVEC, which
- 1:17Speaker 2: controls security for VIPs Royals former prime ministers, might take
- 1:23Speaker 2: the decision that them moving back now permanently and the
- 1:26Speaker 2: security risks mean that he will get some kind of protection.
- 1:31Speaker 3: You'd think that the chances of that happening now are
- 1:34Speaker 3: probably greater than ever because if you look at their
- 1:37Speaker 3: life in Monticito and California, they're surrounded by Bob Let's
- 1:41Speaker 3: face it more famous people and everyone's kind of famous
- 1:44Speaker 3: in California. When they move back to the UK, the
- 1:47Speaker 3: tabloids are going to have a feeding frenzy, aren't they.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Well potentially, I mean they have obviously spent a lot
- 1:53Speaker 2: of time going to war with the tabloids and some
- 1:55Speaker 2: of them, particularly the Daily Mail, might have an axe
- 1:57Speaker 2: to grind. It is different now. There are actions, particularly
- 2:00Speaker 2: when it comes to children, and we've seen this with
- 2:03Speaker 2: Kate and William. You know, we don't see tabloid photos
- 2:05Speaker 2: really of them with the children. It's a very different
- 2:08Speaker 2: world to the one that Harry and William grew up in.
- 2:12Speaker 2: So we'll see how restrained that the media will be
- 2:15Speaker 2: and if they're wanting to live as you know, as
- 2:17Speaker 2: they say, private individuals when they come back, then they
- 2:19Speaker 2: do then earn a slight right to protection from intrusion.
- 2:23Speaker 2: It just depends what their activities are going to be.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Good stuff and Sam Mecavini are UK europe correspondent.

- 2:33Speaker 2: to News Talks it be from five am weekdays, or
