Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: The Season with Peter Schrager is a production of the
- 0:09Speaker 1: NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio.
- 0:28Speaker 2: All Right, we have a very important day here and
- 0:30Speaker 2: good morning football. However, it is good morning football, and
- 0:33Speaker 2: since nobody loves football more than Peter, we want to
- 0:35Speaker 2: stick to football. I want to talk about Ashton Genty.
- 0:39Speaker 3: You know this guy.
- 0:40Speaker 2: You've watched this guy, this running back out of Boise
- 0:42Speaker 2: State who is coming into the draft. And now as
- 0:45Speaker 2: Peter's laughing and trying to stick it about football, we've.
- 0:47Speaker 4: Got security lapses.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Come on, Jason, down, sit down, all right, I'm gonna
- 0:55Speaker 2: finish my Ashton Genty take before we talk to Jason.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Go ahead, Peter, you start talking.
- 0:59Speaker 5: What could have been? Jason?
- 1:01Speaker 6: Could I love this guy and your cares?
- 1:04Speaker 3: I haven't.
- 1:05Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, I did not know this happening?
- 1:06Speaker 7: Good?
- 1:07Speaker 4: Why is your chair so low?
- 1:09Speaker 5: I'm miked up.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Let go Oh my gosh, cool.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 1:14Speaker 4: I didn't get the blue blazer. No, but you look
- 1:16Speaker 4: better than us.
- 1:19Speaker 3: You wanted.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Why are you here today, Jason?
- 1:20Speaker 8: I mean, Peter Schrager is an icon in this industry,
- 1:23Speaker 8: and if you're here, look about it.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Shragger is having a day. How could you miss this?
- 1:27Speaker 4: I'm fired up to be here. You look good.
- 1:29Speaker 5: I want to give you a hug. Bro, I love you.
- 1:31Speaker 5: You're the man to man. You know my feelings towards here.
- 1:33Speaker 5: This is unbelievable. I can't give a hug because I'm
- 1:36Speaker 5: wired in. I think or too could get unwired and yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:39Speaker 5: don't you know?
- 1:40Speaker 3: You know I do?
- 1:41Speaker 4: But you love the friends, Jason.
- 1:45Speaker 2: In the time that you've left the show, you must
- 1:47Speaker 2: get asked, you know, Peter, what's Peter like with Jamie?
- 1:49Speaker 2: Like I like when when people say what is your
- 1:52Speaker 2: what is your spiel on?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Peter?
- 1:52Speaker 4: What do you have to say about working with people?
- 1:54Speaker 8: I always say, now, you want to know somebody that
- 1:56Speaker 8: can help you get to where you want to get
- 1:58Speaker 8: in life. People always say that's not what you know too.
- 2:00Speaker 8: You know, do you have to know Peter Schrager? This
- 2:04Speaker 8: is the guy that no matter where I go.
- 2:06Speaker 5: They did game.
- 2:07Speaker 8: Last year for CBS, no matter where I went, the
- 2:10Speaker 8: conversation was about Peter Shriks.
- 2:12Speaker 4: You know, you know my guy shrinks?
- 2:14Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I know.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Are we doing a trivia segment?
- 2:17Speaker 3: That is how it is.
- 2:18Speaker 4: It's always my guys.
- 2:20Speaker 2: You know, you fight and scrap and claude to get
- 2:23Speaker 2: to a place in your career where you get to
- 2:24Speaker 2: attend these events.
- 2:25Speaker 5: And I'm theirs.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Everyone says to you is, hey, how' Shreg's doing?
- 2:28Speaker 2: I never mind, Harrison, You're not here right here.
- 2:33Speaker 1: By the way they show Can you show that picture again?
- 2:35Speaker 1: Can I give a quick Jason?
- 2:36Speaker 5: Please?
- 2:36Speaker 1: Do we go to We go to London and uh
- 2:39Speaker 1: and and it's like, we have like two hours to
- 2:41Speaker 1: kill I'm like, I'm gonna go to the Winston Churchill
- 2:44Speaker 1: War Museum.
- 2:46Speaker 5: Jason's like, I'll join you.
- 2:47Speaker 1: We did a three hour guided tour and saw Churchill's merricks.
- 2:51Speaker 5: Yes, we had the best time, and I'm going through
- 2:54Speaker 5: the history of it.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I'm like, well, here's the bunker and this says the
- 2:57Speaker 1: Nazis were coming, and here's Churchill and Chamberlain was and
- 3:00Speaker 1: Jason like, I was like, this kid, this.
- 3:02Speaker 8: Guy he probably doesn't remember. When we finished over, we're
- 3:04Speaker 8: walking back to the hotel. Head coach in the NFL
- 3:07Speaker 8: calls and we're just in London just to catch up, shregs,
- 3:10Speaker 8: how you doing?
- 3:10Speaker 4: Just really? Yeah, just need anything? How's everything going? That's true.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Head coach in the NFL Wow, Dick Kingsburdy FaceTime. I
- 3:19Speaker 4: think we.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Also probably was upset that, like the car that I
- 3:22Speaker 1: expected the NFL network to send me wasn't there on time.
- 3:25Speaker 5: You know, Jason, there was.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Probably that was Germany.
- 3:28Speaker 6: That was Germany.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Well, listen, Jason is perfect because when Jason enters the
- 3:34Speaker 2: show at this really pitiful time. You might not believe this,
- 3:37Speaker 2: but sometimes people come in as guest host and Peter
- 3:39Speaker 2: has opinions about them, and some of the opinions are critical,
- 3:41Speaker 2: are constructive, And for you, it was always just like
- 3:45Speaker 2: it's so easy, so effortless, just like this, like we're
- 3:47Speaker 2: just doing a segment right now.
- 3:49Speaker 4: You have to realize you never got.
- 3:50Speaker 1: A proper sendoff like I could do four hours, five
- 3:54Speaker 1: hours on just how amazing Jason on this show was
- 3:57Speaker 1: and what a part of Jason's fabric. If this is
- 3:59Speaker 1: my farewell show, you deserve a moment to a fair moment,
- 4:02Speaker 1: because appreciate that Nate Burlison was a founding member of
- 4:05Speaker 1: the show and lefting or miss shoes, And I think
- 4:07Speaker 1: Nate would be okay with me saying you didn't only
- 4:09Speaker 1: feel in admirably, you exceeded expectation.
- 4:12Speaker 4: I get a hot take better than it?
- 4:13Speaker 5: Okay, wherever you are.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Better than.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Corey?
- 4:25Speaker 4: Wow, listen zero in the show.
- 4:32Speaker 5: What's up baby?
- 4:34Speaker 3: How you doing?
- 4:35Speaker 4: We need we need booze right now.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Let's any boo here?
- 4:39Speaker 1: Just sa like the date, it was like the fed member,
- 4:41Speaker 1: It was impossible to fill it in and this guy
- 4:43Speaker 1: did an admirable job and killed it. Look at that.
- 4:46Speaker 4: We got a show right here.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Wait, this is it.
- 4:48Speaker 2: We're Proportionate's got a lot sexier and faster. Yeah, this
- 4:57Speaker 2: is an incredible show.
- 4:58Speaker 5: Nate the seating so you could Okay, No.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Michael said, it doesn't matter, Nate.
- 5:03Speaker 3: What's up? What's up baby?
- 5:05Speaker 7: How you doing?
- 5:06Speaker 4: Why are you here?
- 5:07Speaker 7: I'm here because of my guy, Peter Schrager.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Yes, I love him dearly.
- 5:12Speaker 7: He was part of this show from the very beginning,
- 5:16Speaker 7: not just in front of the camera but behind it.
- 5:18Speaker 7: I know you have spoken about it, but I don't
- 5:20Speaker 7: think there is anybody that loved the show as much
- 5:23Speaker 7: as Peter loved the show.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Initially, we as talent.
- 5:26Speaker 7: Had to catch up to how much he cared about it.
- 5:28Speaker 7: And let's not get it twisted. We didn't reinvent the wheel,
- 5:32Speaker 7: but we did add our notes to the blueprint that
- 5:35Speaker 7: came before us, and we did something special and I
- 5:37Speaker 7: hear about it all the time.
- 5:39Speaker 3: So Peter, I love you dearly.
- 5:41Speaker 7: And as soon as they shot me a text and
- 5:43Speaker 7: said it's going to be his last day, I told
- 5:46Speaker 7: everybody at CBS.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Morning, do you mister said?
- 5:48Speaker 3: I said, I'm coming, I gotta come.
- 5:50Speaker 5: That's unbelievable. I'm blown away right now. I didn't think
- 5:52Speaker 5: I would get.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Emotional, but seeing these two faces, it's with you, yea,
- 5:56Speaker 1: these four, I mean.
- 5:58Speaker 4: I'm gonna make a cringey white reference.
- 6:00Speaker 2: This is like like David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar
- 6:02Speaker 2: like together with us.
- 6:03Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, And this is like breaking
- 6:04Speaker 4: it down for me.
- 6:06Speaker 3: It's it's terrible.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Coming through the door.
- 6:10Speaker 7: This is like the light skin and dark skin and
- 6:12Speaker 7: a viv coming back to the Fresh Prince set.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Before. It's all good.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Don't matter.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Over there, Hi, what are your emotions right now?
- 6:26Speaker 3: Seeing these guys?
- 6:28Speaker 4: Amazing?
- 6:28Speaker 5: Amazing?
- 6:29Speaker 1: This is I've been on the show for a decade,
- 6:31Speaker 1: nearly a decade.
- 6:32Speaker 5: If you go back to when we were like.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Creating this thing, and Nate I knew before I knew
- 6:36Speaker 1: you and before you Nate was a player, and he
- 6:37Speaker 1: would come on inside the NFL when I used to
- 6:39Speaker 1: work inside the NFL, and immediately we jailed, and he
- 6:42Speaker 1: was like one of the few players, the active players.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I would text, you'd always text back, and my career
- 6:46Speaker 1: is nothing without the three of you, you know, always
- 6:50Speaker 1: playing off us and like, I don't know, it's magical
- 6:52Speaker 1: seeing all of us here in the same room.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I'm sure wherever you go next we have the same
- 6:55Speaker 4: sense of warmth channel.
- 6:57Speaker 2: It'll be just like this, Peter. It's a great decision
- 6:59Speaker 2: you're making. God, you came all the way downtown here.
- 7:03Speaker 2: It's Peter's last day. Empty the bag because raything. We're
- 7:05Speaker 2: not going to get Peter at Vice because they'll stab you.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Memory an insight, Nay. I asked Jason this like when
- 7:12Speaker 2: someone asked you about shregs, Like what do you say,
- 7:14Speaker 2: what is your description of shregs?
- 7:16Speaker 4: Like, here's what it's like, Here's what Peter's like.
- 7:17Speaker 7: We all have verse one always say he's one of
- 7:20Speaker 7: the best insiders in the world. But calling him an
- 7:22Speaker 7: insider is being dismissive of everything else he brings to
- 7:24Speaker 7: the table, extremely connected. I got to be honest Shreg's.
- 7:28Speaker 7: You were one of the first people that I knew.
- 7:30Speaker 7: When they said that they knew somebody, I believe them.
- 7:34Speaker 7: There's a lot of people say, oh, I got a sore,
- 7:35Speaker 7: so I can make a call I heard from this guy,
- 7:38Speaker 7: But I would peek over at your phone and you
- 7:40Speaker 7: will legitimately be talking to owners GM's coaches, everyone down
- 7:44Speaker 7: to the bottom coaches on the roster, and then you'd
- 7:46Speaker 7: mention their name, and two weeks.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Later they get a job.
- 7:49Speaker 7: And I just thought that was unbelievable, because a lot of.
- 7:52Speaker 3: People front like they're connected, and you actually were.
- 7:54Speaker 7: And then on top of that, you cared about this
- 7:57Speaker 7: job deeply. And I know I talked about it briefly,
- 8:00Speaker 7: but the way that you showed up for work and
- 8:02Speaker 7: stayed afterwards, it really taught me how to fall in
- 8:06Speaker 7: love love with the small details, because oftentimes this talent
- 8:09Speaker 7: were separated from what happens behind the scenes. But you
- 8:12Speaker 7: always wanted to firmly plant yourself in the middle of
- 8:16Speaker 7: how this show was being created and told to the people,
- 8:19Speaker 7: and for fans who don't know. Peter loves the fans,
- 8:23Speaker 7: like we don't do this for us.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Like it's not about us. Seeming like we know everything
- 8:26Speaker 3: about football.
- 8:27Speaker 7: We were just guys on a couch talking and shout
- 8:29Speaker 7: out to k guys and gals. But for Peter, he
- 8:32Speaker 7: always thought about what the fan wanted.
- 8:35Speaker 3: And it's rare.
- 8:36Speaker 7: In this business because you got a lot of people
- 8:38Speaker 7: that show up and they pop off at the mouth
- 8:40Speaker 7: and they wanted to be about them.
- 8:42Speaker 3: We just wanted it to be about y'all. And you
- 8:44Speaker 3: let the way on that.
- 8:45Speaker 5: Mas.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I just want to say thank you for asco about
- 8:47Speaker 1: Burlason here and Jason, you'll appreciate it. We used to
- 8:49Speaker 1: be up at that World Trade Center. We had the
- 8:51Speaker 1: fiftieth floor, and you know, we didn't have dressing rooms,
- 8:54Speaker 1: so they would just give us spaces and you'd have
- 8:56Speaker 1: a you have, like just a place where you got
- 8:58Speaker 1: to change. They put me and Nate together in that
- 9:01Speaker 1: big green room and Nate and I would be in
- 9:03Speaker 1: our skivvies, our little whitey tidies. We'd be watching Everybody
- 9:06Speaker 1: Loves Raymon before the show every day, like we.
- 9:09Speaker 5: Weren't studying staff bit.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Me and Nate ripped through like seven seasons of rainbe
- 9:14Speaker 1: just it's from five am to six am every day,
- 9:17Speaker 1: and like I know, all your kids. Yeah, you know,
- 9:20Speaker 1: I know Jamie's kids, like I know your wives, I
- 9:22Speaker 1: know Jamie's husband. Like, this is more than just us
- 9:25Speaker 1: talking about the cowboys and the giants. This is family,
- 9:28Speaker 1: and this is forever. And I love you guys, and
- 9:31Speaker 1: I would love you too.
- 9:32Speaker 8: You're gonna get to invite to watch Everybody loves Ring.
- 9:34Speaker 4: I have my private dress.
- 9:36Speaker 2: But the lessener of today is why everybody loves Peter.
- 9:41Speaker 2: This is incredible to see you guys here and Peter.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks, thanks, This is really cool. I don't know
- 9:46Speaker 1: if every network does this for everyone. I don't know
- 9:48Speaker 1: if every show does this for everyone, but uh, to
- 9:50Speaker 1: actually go out in your own terms and have a
- 9:52Speaker 1: little celebration for yourself, like, that's pretty special stuff.
- 9:55Speaker 9: Nate, Nate, it's awesome to see you this morning. Mccordy,
- 9:58Speaker 9: I know you can speak to this. But the day
- 10:00Speaker 9: you and I were standing in that hallway and Peter
- 10:02Speaker 9: and Kyle were was supposed to be rehearsing the cold Open,
- 10:05Speaker 9: when really it's just us going live for the first
- 10:08Speaker 9: time ever, having practically just shaken their hands met these
- 10:11Speaker 9: guys and walking out there. Jason, I know you can
- 10:14Speaker 9: speak to this because you were there with me that
- 10:15Speaker 9: day in need too. Peter, you can make anybody good
- 10:18Speaker 9: on television, and I know those two are attestament to that.
- 10:22Speaker 9: And Kyle you're talented in and of itself, but you
- 10:24Speaker 9: make us better every day and you deserve everything more
- 10:27Speaker 9: than just this hour on GMFB. So we love you.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Peter.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Wow, guys, thank you. I'm overwhelmed.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I'm not going to say anymore that that's incredible.
- 10:33Speaker 6: This is incredible, good money football.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Introducing first the Master of the mock Draft. He that's
- 10:55Speaker 3: correctly predicted every single Super Bowl winner since nineteen eighty three.
- 11:01Speaker 5: And Hal's from Freehold, New Jersey. He is Peter. I
- 11:08Speaker 5: love football. I love to go back down memory and land.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I would like to say good morning football to jan
- 11:12Speaker 1: Norris Jenkins. You had all of New York City holding
- 11:15Speaker 1: their collective breath yesterday when you cleaned.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Odell Beckham in practice on Sunday.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Hey, buddy, save some of that for Dead Brant or
- 11:22Speaker 1: DeShawn Jackson.
- 11:23Speaker 5: Rabbit, just relax for a little bit.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Go to the work curtain, Congo, mister.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Bun gun.
- 11:32Speaker 7: Jaft fun, Jeff Fun.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Hope you have some fun.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Put your hands together or Peter not super Slinger Shrigger.
- 11:42Speaker 10: Tom Lendry, Boom Runway, Joe Lamer Raiders.
- 11:53Speaker 5: Owner, the late Great L. Davis, just Win vibe blues.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Is that a clown and clowny?
- 12:01Speaker 3: Yes, we got it.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Ye, this is called a hot pocket.
- 12:05Speaker 4: In our country.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Okay, you eat them at their soccer practice with that
- 12:09Speaker 1: high seed one.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Gotta be a drink.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Yes, there, you're cooler. Can I got to close up
- 12:13Speaker 5: on what this is. It's like a haribou gummy bear
- 12:16Speaker 5: of filth. Flip on a latita? Peter, Who does.
- 12:19Speaker 3: That remind me of that?
- 12:20Speaker 5: Again? You might make your own conclusions here pick that picture. Hey,
- 12:28Speaker 5: here we are. Can you feel the rain tray and
- 12:31Speaker 5: the j man making it rain like usual? Like we're
- 12:34Speaker 5: at the Rhino, right at the Rhino, but back, We're
- 12:37Speaker 5: back New York, but back Jared. I love that he's
- 12:40Speaker 5: not wearing that athlesia anymore. Kyle and I are on
- 12:42Speaker 5: the streets.
- 12:42Speaker 1: We are as Yeah, let's fix a no no, no no,
- 12:45Speaker 1: you just max you're yourself all right?
- 12:47Speaker 4: Ton, Hi, I'm Kyle, Peter, Peter. We over, folks, wait
- 12:52Speaker 4: over yet?
- 12:55Speaker 9: Oh and those are a few of your favorite things
- 12:58Speaker 9: here are a couple of mine about Apney shrikes. You're
- 13:00Speaker 9: yours hearing us tee him up on Peter? What's on
- 13:03Speaker 9: deck for the Giants and soft season?
- 13:05Speaker 5: Or shrikes?
- 13:05Speaker 9: Help us under stand the latest with Matthew Stafford. But personally,
- 13:09Speaker 9: all I care about is in the commercial breaks. I
- 13:11Speaker 9: need to hear about the Pistons, Wolves, Freakis. Last night
- 13:13Speaker 9: I got to hear about CBS's new NFL announcer, Pangs
- 13:16Speaker 9: and his takes on torpedo bats. These are the kind
- 13:19Speaker 9: of things that Shrake's cares about, and viewers have asked
- 13:21Speaker 9: for this today and they just heard it in that clip.
- 13:24Speaker 9: It's my shrill Peter, or when Peter says something that's
- 13:27Speaker 9: so creative, smart, witty, well delivered and sometimes shocking that you,
- 13:31Speaker 9: my friend, have now become the most well rounded TV
- 13:34Speaker 9: person that I have ever been around. And as a
- 13:36Speaker 9: parent of young kids, you know this as well as
- 13:38Speaker 9: I do. It can be used as a point of
- 13:40Speaker 9: feedback when someone says you always have something to say,
- 13:43Speaker 9: don't you. Well, I say it to you as the
- 13:46Speaker 9: ultimate compliment for us on the show and the viewers
- 13:48Speaker 9: at home. You have always had something to say, and
- 13:50Speaker 9: I always thank you for that. You are also a
- 13:53Speaker 9: family guy, Peter, and I mean that on several levels.
- 13:55Speaker 9: I adore your wife and your beautiful kids. They are awesome.
- 13:58Speaker 9: But you have been grinding on this show since twenty sixteen,
- 14:01Speaker 9: giving every ounce of your football brain to our favorite
- 14:04Speaker 9: four letters. You're a family guy. So while I don't
- 14:07Speaker 9: know exactly what you're doing next, if it doesn't involve
- 14:09Speaker 9: you getting up every single morning, five hundred days out
- 14:12Speaker 9: of the year and missing the first day of school
- 14:14Speaker 9: pictures or the basketball tryouts, or traveling half the year,
- 14:17Speaker 9: and to come to this table and be on our show,
- 14:20Speaker 9: then it must be the right thing for you. Now,
- 14:22Speaker 9: speaking of family, I don't have any brothers, but you
- 14:25Speaker 9: have emulated what I assume it's like to have a
- 14:27Speaker 9: big brother ready to dish the heat. But I would
- 14:30Speaker 9: never question if you would have my back if someone
- 14:32Speaker 9: came for me. You're loyal to a fault sometimes, and
- 14:35Speaker 9: I respect the hell out of you for it. And
- 14:37Speaker 9: in our line of work, I like to think this
- 14:39Speaker 9: is the ultimate praise. I wish we were in the
- 14:41Speaker 9: same studio together today, of all days, so I could
- 14:44Speaker 9: give you a nice, awkward side hug that you hate
- 14:46Speaker 9: so much.
- 14:47Speaker 3: But I'll get down.
- 14:47Speaker 5: I'll get you down the road.
- 14:49Speaker 9: At the next Super Bowl, I will see you.
- 14:51Speaker 5: We will catch up.
- 14:53Speaker 9: You'll have seen five things that I worked on TV
- 14:55Speaker 9: that I never would have imagined you had the time
- 14:57Speaker 9: to catch I'll ask about your family and how much
- 14:59Speaker 9: you love not traveling, and then you'll whisk away to
- 15:02Speaker 9: befriend the next youngest GM and the next wave of
- 15:04Speaker 9: a football media will be blown away about how you
- 15:06Speaker 9: might know that guy. But I will not be surprised
- 15:09Speaker 9: because of my three years that I got with you
- 15:11Speaker 9: on this show. Love you Shrigs.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Like all class, Jamie.
- 15:17Speaker 1: That was really really sweet. Thank you if you're the best.
- 15:19Speaker 1: You know how I feel about you. And uh, it's
- 15:21Speaker 1: been an absolute honor the last three years. As we
- 15:24Speaker 1: said with Jason and Nate, Kay Adams was a massive
- 15:27Speaker 1: hole leaving this show and you came in and you
- 15:29Speaker 1: made it your own.
- 15:29Speaker 5: And I could say I've had so much fun the
- 15:32Speaker 5: last three years getting to know you.
- 15:33Speaker 1: And I think you're an unbelievable television personality, but you're
- 15:37Speaker 1: also a better soul. You are an awesome, awesome colleague,
- 15:39Speaker 1: Jammy and a great mother of three beautiful daughters.
- 15:42Speaker 5: Thank you. That was really sweet, and what you said
- 15:45Speaker 5: was as well.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Peter, and I think this is really cool.
- 15:46Speaker 2: We're here in New York and we got we got
- 15:48Speaker 2: our friends Jason and Nate here and Peter. I thought
- 15:51Speaker 2: a lot about what I was going to say in
- 15:52Speaker 2: this very moment, and everything kept sounding like a really
- 15:55Speaker 2: bad mate of honor speech.
- 15:57Speaker 4: I can't sit here and.
- 15:58Speaker 5: Be like Peter, you're my partner in crime.
- 16:03Speaker 4: I can't do it.
- 16:05Speaker 2: So what I will say is that I come in
- 16:07Speaker 2: here every day and I want to impress you.
- 16:09Speaker 5: Oh.
- 16:10Speaker 4: I come in here every day and my.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Goal is that I want to make you laugh and
- 16:14Speaker 2: I want to say something that you didn't think of.
- 16:16Speaker 4: That's what I do every day, and it's very, very challenging.
- 16:19Speaker 2: So my original angle is I was going to talk
- 16:21Speaker 2: to wherever you go next and tell them this is
- 16:23Speaker 2: what Peter's about.
- 16:24Speaker 3: But I flipped it.
- 16:25Speaker 4: I want to tell you what Peter is not about.
- 16:27Speaker 4: There we go. Don't look at this man.
- 16:29Speaker 3: As an insider.
- 16:31Speaker 4: He is that that is one of fifty things he is.
- 16:33Speaker 2: This guy will not pose for a photograph holding a phone,
- 16:37Speaker 2: which is the entry point for every insider.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Don't do that to him.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Don't force this person to scream and fight for no reason.
- 16:45Speaker 3: Peter loves football.
- 16:46Speaker 5: He loves the positivity of football.
- 16:48Speaker 4: There are people who.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Love television and end up in football, and there's people
- 16:52Speaker 2: who love football and end up in television.
- 16:54Speaker 4: That is Peter Schrager.
- 16:56Speaker 5: This is not a bar.
- 16:59Speaker 2: A beefed up take hav about ball ball ball. I
- 17:02Speaker 2: have this reputation on the show that like I'm the
- 17:04Speaker 2: pop culture one.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Peter knows more about pop culture than I do. That's
- 17:07Speaker 4: the big secret.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Peter seen every episode of every show, and every podcast
- 17:10Speaker 2: and every movie.
- 17:11Speaker 5: He knows us up cold.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Lastly, this is not some talent who sits at the
- 17:15Speaker 2: desk and you hand them something.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Let this man produce. This man took a.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Morning show, oldest most tired concept ever, a football talk show,
- 17:24Speaker 2: oldest most hired concept ever, and made it into this
- 17:28Speaker 2: bring up the phone art. Does this look like a
- 17:29Speaker 2: morning football talk show to you? That's our show, Jim
- 17:35Speaker 2: Kramer's Jim Kramer, It's Me on the Streets.
- 17:37Speaker 5: That is a football show.
- 17:38Speaker 4: You wouldn't think it. It's like that because of Peter.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Lastly, in July of twenty sixteen, when we found out
- 17:44Speaker 2: that this show is going to happen.
- 17:45Speaker 4: I was going to be part of it.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I got a direct message from Peter Schrager and he said, dude,
- 17:50Speaker 2: this is so cool.
- 17:51Speaker 4: We're going to be best buds. And he was right, and.
- 17:55Speaker 5: We have been and we are.
- 17:57Speaker 4: You guys know this about me. I'm a miserable bastard.
- 18:00Speaker 4: I don't like making friends.
- 18:02Speaker 2: At home any ways. Yeah, at home, I had my
- 18:05Speaker 2: wife and my kids around the town. I got a
- 18:08Speaker 2: few friends around the country, got my.
- 18:09Speaker 4: High school friends. When I come to work, I have Peter.
- 18:12Speaker 2: And Peter you said we're going to be best buds,
- 18:15Speaker 2: and we always have been. And thank you very much
- 18:18Speaker 2: for eight and a half years for being my best bud.
- 18:21Speaker 5: Right on, right on. I love you, Kyle, love you.
- 18:23Speaker 11: I love you too.
- 18:38Speaker 5: Good Morn Football.
- 18:40Speaker 1: All right, as I fight back tears here with Jason
- 18:43Speaker 1: mccordy and Ap Elson and Kyle brand All in this New.
- 18:45Speaker 5: York City studio next to me.
- 18:48Speaker 1: It is my last show on Good Morning Football, and
- 18:50Speaker 1: this is my last ever segment on the program. I've
- 18:53Speaker 1: been with the show for nine years. And if you
- 18:56Speaker 1: go back to all the meetings I had with Michael
- 18:59Speaker 1: Davies and Tim Brown in this very building.
- 19:01Speaker 5: It has been a full decade of my life.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Living being Good Morning Football, turning a television show concept
- 19:11Speaker 1: into a brand, into a cult classic, into a lifestyle.
- 19:15Speaker 5: In that time, I have had two beautiful children. We've
- 19:19Speaker 5: won multiple.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Awards, Yes, viewers, we were once a critics Darling and
- 19:24Speaker 1: I've got to cover multiple super Bowls and combines and
- 19:27Speaker 1: drafts and summers where we debated Jadavian Clowney's next whereabous?
- 19:33Speaker 5: And that Jadavian.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Clowny thing, which all three of you guys here and
- 19:36Speaker 1: Jamie back in La can appreciate, was sort of the
- 19:38Speaker 1: beauty of our show. When everyone else went away for
- 19:41Speaker 1: the summer or dove into the NBA finals or the
- 19:44Speaker 1: Olympics of the home run derby, we were tasked with
- 19:47Speaker 1: a three hour show filling it about NFL football. We
- 19:50Speaker 1: would end up ranking the best third wide receivers in
- 19:54Speaker 1: the AFCs fact or we would just quiz each other
- 19:57Speaker 1: on nineteen eighties tight end, and we got away with it,
- 20:00Speaker 1: and we loved it, and somehow someway the viewers did too.
- 20:05Speaker 5: See we love football on this show. We don't love
- 20:08Speaker 5: seeing our names and headlines. We don't love screaming the
- 20:12Speaker 5: loudest we can.
- 20:12Speaker 1: We love football, and we always did this show for ourselves,
- 20:16Speaker 1: the other hosts on set and the producers in the back,
- 20:19Speaker 1: and when we did it, we just wanted to be
- 20:21Speaker 1: informative but also to entertain. I hope in my decade
- 20:25Speaker 1: in this chair you learned something from me. You felt
- 20:28Speaker 1: like you were on the inside, even if it was
- 20:29Speaker 1: just a bit, and.
- 20:30Speaker 5: You were entertained.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I gave it my all every single day on this show,
- 20:33Speaker 1: and I appreciate, so appreciate everyone who's ever worked on it,
- 20:38Speaker 1: either on set or behind the scenes. You know, the
- 20:41Speaker 1: crew and the producers in our ears are really responsible
- 20:44Speaker 1: for what this show is.
- 20:45Speaker 5: And the folks who work overnights, I.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Mean, that is the job that I don't envy and
- 20:50Speaker 1: yet no complaints. You know, those are the folks that
- 20:52Speaker 1: at two in the morning, when I wake up in
- 20:54Speaker 1: the middle of the night and I'm like, I need
- 20:55Speaker 1: the right Stephen Davis Redskins clipper, or I need the
- 20:59Speaker 1: correct Jeff Blake to Darnay Scott deep pass. On my
- 21:03Speaker 1: Bengals highlights from the early nineties, there's someone at two
- 21:06Speaker 1: am he was putting that together and getting no credit
- 21:08Speaker 1: at all, Kyle Brandt, we could do a full day
- 21:11Speaker 1: on NFL Network me talking about you. You are one
- 21:15Speaker 1: of one talent. You are a brilliant mind. You have
- 21:18Speaker 1: never mailed in a single segment or single episode on
- 21:22Speaker 1: this show. You are a friend for life, and I
- 21:25Speaker 1: can't imagine in all the years we'll be doing this
- 21:28Speaker 1: that we will ever have a better sparring partner or
- 21:31Speaker 1: a teammate.
- 21:32Speaker 5: You know what you mean to me. I love you,
- 21:34Speaker 5: Kyle Brandt.
- 21:34Speaker 1: You are the man and this has been an ultimate honor.
- 21:37Speaker 5: Jamie Erdall. And no, you're not with us here in
- 21:39Speaker 5: New York right now. You are in LA. And that
- 21:41Speaker 5: is a good segue to what I have to say
- 21:43Speaker 5: to you.
- 21:44Speaker 1: What you did this past year, at the hours that
- 21:47Speaker 1: you are working in a new city with a new
- 21:51Speaker 1: third child. If you didn't already have my utmost respect beforehand,
- 21:57Speaker 1: you blew me away with how you dove into this
- 22:01Speaker 1: don't show or I'm gonna cry, don't show with how
- 22:03Speaker 1: you dove.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Into this job.
- 22:05Speaker 1: And you led led this entire LA experiment.
- 22:10Speaker 4: And you could show her.
- 22:11Speaker 1: You could put it back on here, Jamie Ertall, you
- 22:14Speaker 1: are the leader of.
- 22:15Speaker 5: The show right now, and you never have a bad attitude.
- 22:18Speaker 5: This woman wakes up at two a m.
- 22:20Speaker 1: In the morning and has three children at home under
- 22:25Speaker 1: the age of five, and she has become one of
- 22:28Speaker 1: the faces of the NFL.
- 22:29Speaker 5: And I will tell you this, Jamie Art all you
- 22:31Speaker 5: deserve it.
- 22:31Speaker 3: All.
- 22:32Speaker 5: You're gonna go on to bigger and brighter and better
- 22:34Speaker 5: and as big as you want to be you can be.
- 22:36Speaker 1: But I have a feeling you're content just talking football,
- 22:39Speaker 1: which is the best part about you. Your dreams are
- 22:42Speaker 1: to make our show better and you did that every
- 22:45Speaker 1: single day.
- 22:46Speaker 5: So appreciate you.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Sherry Burris, acbar Mantai, Isaiah standback, Will Selva shout out
- 22:54Speaker 1: to Will Seldon. Yes, Sir, Ian Rappaport, Mike Garafolo, Tom Pelsero,
- 22:59Speaker 1: Jason mccordy sitting right behind, right next to me, right now.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Love you, Kay Adams, fantastic, Nate Burlason, love you.
- 23:07Speaker 5: You know what you mean to me. MJ D. D'Angelo hall,
- 23:12Speaker 5: Mike Robinson.
- 23:13Speaker 1: How about this guy, Sean freaking O'Hea, Sean o'h.
- 23:19Speaker 5: Sean. Anytime one of us needed a lift, Sean O'Hara
- 23:23Speaker 5: was there and he would come in.
- 23:25Speaker 1: You are the man Sean, and I appreciate you, and
- 23:28Speaker 1: I can go through Stacey Dale's and Jane Slater and
- 23:30Speaker 1: Judy Patista and m j Acosta Ruiz and Sarah Walsh
- 23:34Speaker 1: and all the different guests hosts who have filled in.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I say with a smile that I truly have fond
- 23:39Speaker 1: feelings for every person who ever worked on camera with
- 23:43Speaker 1: me on this show. I broke news on this show.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I told stories on this show that I don't think
- 23:49Speaker 1: you were getting anywhere else.
- 23:50Speaker 5: But that's not That's not what I'll remember.
- 23:52Speaker 1: The funny thing is what I'll remember is not where
- 23:55Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins signed.
- 23:57Speaker 5: It's all the moments on Good Morning for All.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Remember one's like last week where I was hoisting Kyle
- 24:02Speaker 1: from a yoga pose like he was Belichick's young girlfriend
- 24:04Speaker 1: on the beach.
- 24:06Speaker 4: We get do that on this show.
- 24:07Speaker 1: I remember the commissioner having a beer with us in Germany,
- 24:10Speaker 1: Or when Kyle and I pushed the envelope so far
- 24:13Speaker 1: on Wall Streeters that I thought I was getting fired
- 24:14Speaker 1: the next day. You guys have been amazing as viewers,
- 24:18Speaker 1: but I just want to shout out in the end
- 24:21Speaker 1: some special people.
- 24:22Speaker 5: Michael Davies, who is from embass Row. You know how
- 24:26Speaker 5: I feel.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Love you always, Sony Roku, our new partners. You guys
- 24:30Speaker 1: have been great producers, Bill Henschell, Mark Grillo, Gina Sabentino,
- 24:35Speaker 1: Chris McClain.
- 24:36Speaker 5: You guys are so good at what you do. You
- 24:38Speaker 5: deserve to be shouted out.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Angela ls Becky Orenstein, Charlie Yuke, Denise. You guys all
- 24:42Speaker 1: work endlessly for this show.
- 24:44Speaker 5: I won't be far away. I'll be talking about football somewhere.
- 24:47Speaker 5: Thanks for watching, Love you all, It's been an honor.
