Obviously you guys have been friends for years. he's a guest of Herbie's. new friend of mine. and why don't you tell us how you guys met and all about? Let's get some history. Herbie: Yeah, so that's I want to tell them, 'cause I I moved when I moved in town, when I you know, when I moved in town, we'll just talk about town. And like one of my first days of going into school, I ran into this guy. Steve: Yeah, we were we're walking we were walkers, so that was the Yeah, that Shamus: That was a thing back then. Steve: was that was still legal. So Herbie: Exactly. Steve: yeah, we were walkers and we lived in town. So Herbie: Yeah. Steve: it's actually a half a mile from where I from the school was where I live. Okay. And then we we were walking down a dirt road and I saw this kid, new kid. We Herbie: Yeah. Steve: were like, Hey kid Herbie: Yeah. Steve: And then he's like, Yeah. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: That was you? Herbie: yeah, dude. It was pretty much like when when 'cause my house was like right in back of the the Shamus: Still the same town, just s where you're at. Herbie: Now yeah. School's like right in the backyard. So I literally walked out of my back backyard and there's this alley in the back. So I'm walking out, and then I look to the right and I hear this, hey kid, and it's this really tall kid, and then got a little chubby kid and like the little like Toady sidekick, like like a pretty boy kid. Okay. I was like, man. He's like, come here. I was like, Jesus. I was like, I got a balls up. I'm like, all right, this is gonna be the first day you get just at first I had a plan. I was like gonna kick him in the dick. Then I was gonna push the chubby kid and then I was gonna slap the the the shorter kid and run away. So I walk up and I'm just like man I gotta be I gotta I gotta be tough about this because you know it was it was like my first day of school and this was Shamus: How great is this? Herbie: like sixth grade. Steve: Six grade. Herbie: Yeah. And I was like yeah and I walked up to him and he pulled out his hand hey how are you and I was like okay I was like the tall guy doesn't want to kill me. All right cool. So that was just like pretty much after that it was like He was like in a coup he was like two two grades higher? Yeah, pretty much you were an eighth, right? Steve: Yeah. I was in eighth grade and you were in sixth grade when we met. Herbie: Okay. So that just like triggered the whole thing 'cause like Steve was walking with his younger brother Sean. He was like the little pretty boy and the chubby kid was our our buddy TJ the one that passed away that I talked about before. So like we've you know been together for like over freaking forty years. Shamus: Yeah. Steve: Yeah, we played soccer together. Herbie: Okay. Shamus: Now he was two years ahead of you, so obviously he graduated two years ahead of you. Herbie: So like when I first got to V Town, I wasn't really hanging out with Steve too much because he was older. He was actually down by the lake. So he was lakeside guy and I was still meeting other like the other people like in on my side of town that was like Steve and Ron and all those other guys. So I was hanging out with them and stuff too. So it just like after a while I just got into more like seeing each other more. And then Shamus: I think you guys will agree with this. It's an amazing thing, How age really matters when you're like in high school or in middle school or whatever. It's like a social status kind of thing. Like if you're a senior, you don't want to be hanging out with the freshmen and the sophomores and shit. I mean you'll date the chicks, but you Herbie: yeah. Shamus: won't hang out with the dudes and stuff. But then when you get older, like two or three years doesn't mean shit. Like when you're out of school and all that. I I always thought that was pretty wild. Herbie: just like I get older the chicks all still say the safe yeah Shamus: Love them freshmen. Herbie: so it's just like launch off and of course this guy was the one that got me more into all the nerd stuff so when we started hanging out him and his other buddy that was next up my my you know my friend too like lakeside was Mike Missy Annis and them and they were the ones I think I told you about we had a big huge camper. Well they did. It Shamus: with the comic book fashion stuff, right? Herbie: was like a comic book shop Shamus: Yeah, Herbie's talked about that numerous times. Steve: Yeah, we filled it with comics and then we would sit in there and draw and read and and dream of movies that would come to pass and and say what what actor we wanted as Professor X and Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Like you sent me those clips all the time of like what the Avengers would have looked like in the eighties with like Mel Gibson as Iron Man Yeah, I think we all did that. Herbie: Yeah, 'cause we we and we we used to play like, you know, this is where I got manhunt playing with him, frickin' you know, that's when I was Steve: Manhunt to where the point to where he All right, we give up, come out, you bastard. Herbie: Yeah. Yeah. They weren't fine to me, man. I had a ninja suit and a grappling hook, man. Steve: A ninja suit in a grappling house. He Shamus: Talk about that. Steve: was either up a tree or in a in a pile of leaves somewhere. Herbie: Yeah. Steve: Yelling the art of Dotan Herbie: Well, Steve: means meaning the invisibility. Herbie: Yeah. Like under under underground indiv invisibility stuff, man. It was just like 'cause They their household was like they have Nintendo. Of course, I was, you know, Sega Genesis. So they had Ninja Gaiden the game. And they have like, you know, the power and Nintendo Power Magazine. So they had all these different styles of like ninjutsu and all that crap. And the Art of Duoton was that one. But we I was used to do it cause the old school they redid the roofs and they had these huge dumpsters. Uh-huh. So we would always find like dumb stuff to play with that would actually get us like hurt all the time. So Shamus: Absolutely. Herbie: we had like, you know, we were like in this dumpster with like fiberglass and all this other crap. Steve: It was fiberglass and it was it was probably it was probably the asbestos they were removing from the Shamus: I was just gonna say there's probably a little bit of a spestis in that boy's getting Herbie: No, not for nothing. No cancer yet, baby. So we're good to go. It's like over like we literally like breathed. But like when they ripped up the when they pulled in the the dumpster, there was all these big huge dirt clods. So I jumped in there and I was pulling up the things like shields and we're like winging, you know, it was like a bunch of C was too, winging dirt clods. So I was picking up like shields and all this crap. And then we also had like fucking like we found those nails. Steve: Mm. Herbie: Yeah, those metal these square metal things. I forget what the hell they were, but we're using them like ninja stars. So we're chucking them at each other and using like this fiberglass and everything to block it. Yeah. Steve: Using the ceiling tile as block as and y they're sticking into the ceiling tile. Shamus: Okay. Herbie: yeah, dude. yeah. Yeah, people were getting damaged up at this thing. It was were sword fights with iron poles and stuff. Yeah, yeah. Shamus: That's what we did as kids, man. Our generation were the ones like we had the imagination. yeah. You give us a dumpster full of asbestos and shit like that, and we'll make it happen. Herbie: Yeah. We we had the best time ever. We always talk about that. Even we used to do a thing, we'd go to his house and he had this thick gauge rope and he frickin' used to tie me up and I used to be like an escape artist and I just like fucking get out of it and I just disappear in his house. So basically we'd be hanging out in his room and then I'd just take off and I would just like hide somewhere in his house. Steve: You hear the art of Dotong. Where the f are you my He's in a in a coat rack one time. Herbie: Yeah. Yeah, Shamus: Thank you. Herbie: he had a co he had a he this big coat rack. in his room and what I did was I he had pants and stuff like that. So what I did is I put his coat on and I hung myself on the thing and I just laid there with the coat on and I had like s like his like think like snow pants on. And I just laid and I just hung myself on the coat rack. And they could not find me for shit. It's like hours. Hours. And so when they when they when we finally found me, he had his he was dating his girlfriend at the time and he brought her in and played a joke and put stat her on the bed and I was just like scared the shit out of And you know, this is the guy that did shoot me in the in the legs with homemade blowguns. Shamus: Yeah, you mentioned that before. I heard that story before we went on the air. That shit was pretty good. So and I'm assuming this one on all throughout high school. Herbie: Yeah, there was just like just bodily damage to each other all the time, just beating the shit out of each other. Nice to there was another yeah. Steve: wrestling match we went to Warden State Park. Okay. Shamus: Yeah, yeah. Steve: And it's Packham Pond is back in there. So we we found like a volleyball pit that well didn't have the net so we just use it as like a glad it's gladiator pit. Yeah and and we're we're putting sand on each other and then Herbie: Yes. We would take our shirts off. It would be like four or five of us, man. It was just like a free fall. You just pick up the sand and you put it on each other and just rake it and just yeah, dude. Just beat the shit out of each other. hell yeah. It was like kill the man with the ball, but we didn't have no ball and we had a s sand and and just trying to kill each other. Shamus: I gotcha. Herbie: they used to do it like that. He Steve: Camping a lot. A lot of camping. Herbie: was the one that got me into corned beef hash. Love that shit. Look I know it looks like dog food. Shamus: it's amazing. It's one of my favorite foods on the planet. If it's done right. Herbie: yeah. I used to eat like there's a picture of him, me and him, like eat I was eating a stick of butter. Damn. Steve: We were k He's chewing, he's sitting on the tailgate eating a stick of butter. Herbie: And then it was like it was around that time where there were like this is like early high school, so there was even like, you know Steve: Yeah. Herbie: Like his cousin Chris. had actually had a girlfriend and stuff too. So like he was dating his girlfriend, high school sweetheart, and we all go camping and stuff. And if you want to go Steve: That is. Herbie: No? All right. 'Cause you know, it was just fun, like, you know, having like the the guys and girls there. But you know, when when it was romantic time it was just like, you know, they were in their separate tents and you could see it was like in a movie, you see like the tents all shaking all over the place and stuff. But yeah, he and he was also the one that got me 'cause we used to go to Burlington Center all the so I thought Yeah. Yeah. The arcades and of course Shamus: the little people paint stuff you're talking about? Yeah. Herbie: It was this guy that used to got me into it. Yeah. So when we used to do that we used to set up in my basement and we would like just paint on my friend day and stuff. Steve: We paint those for hours and then then we decided we were gonna do dioramas. Herbie: Yeah. Dior Ramas is basically like the play set itself just building it. Almost like that though. Shamus: okay. The the the train stuff, yeah. So wow. Steve: Spray foam that the experiments that went bad. Shamus: No doubt. Herbie: no. Yeah a lot of same like, you it was getting like the it's almost like when you guys did the projects with Big Bob and stuff, all those caustic chemicals in the basement were like Shamus: yeah, I forget what chemical it was. We were painting something and next thing I was like Damn, everybody's high as fuck. Herbie: Everything's fuzzy. Shamus: Polyurethane or something. A room with no windows. Herbie: But yeah, that's pretty much all we did with like when we were kids, we always kept ourselves busy. Yeah, fished. We always had like the lake was Yeah. Steve: Come to find out that the the guy at it used to be Al's Market in Vincenttown. Okay. And then it then it was some other market. And then well this this small family had it for a while and he would give us the the deli hot dogs that were old Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: For bait. There you go. Steve: for bait. And so yeah, and and then he ended up liking Herbie. Herbie: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Steve: This guy liked Herbie 'cause he 'cause he was 'cause he was a kid. Herbie: Yeah. I was I was like with the one of the tiniest kids in the in the town too. But that was like you know, that that little market was just like the the corner store that we always used to go to to get like the hoagies and all that stuff. Steve: They knew us well. Herbie: yeah man. And then you know it was the there was the the best rope swing down at the at the lake too. So that was I mean a lot of memories with summertime. Yeah. Wow. Steve: The they cut the tri the branch down. Herbie: 'Cause we're we were like the good kids, but the old there was older kids out there that used to party a lot and get crazy and every once in a while we'd find like beers like in the water. Steve: Yeah, somebody put a car one year in the and right they drove it right in the lake. Right in the lake. Yeah. Me meanwhile we're just we continued to swim and they were swimming in the car. Herbie: Swim in the car closed the door. Yeah, underwater. Shamus: That's smart. Herbie: yeah. I don't know how many times we should have died like nine million times. I remember when you when you can't when you c when you went into the army, he got a Jeep and we were doing like the thing. I would surf on top of the Jeep and like we went down race street. Shamus: Not the teen wolf stuff, right? Herbie: yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's why before I was like, yeah, don't try that anymore. Cause like it it does work, but I I I I got flung off. Remember, like flip into like the bush and stuff. It was like we used to do like the what was it? when we used to go to the shore, it'd be like a bunch of us, like a caravan, and we would just like throw snapple bottles at everybody, freaking the signs, the the our fellow cars with food, just like throw it over and just like just like hit the windshield. Steve: He hit I believe Eric Barnes was driving Herbie: Yeah. Steve: and he hit him with like a McDonald's shake across the windshield. Couldn't see Herbie: Ha ha ha. Steve: nothing. Herbie: It was just like a movie, man. Shamus: I did that with a big ass like one of those quart like paper things of Nestle Quick. strawberry, Herbie: Yeah, like Shamus: yeah. Hit my buddy's windshield. We were going down seventy towards the shore, do it like eighty-five nine that dude was like Herbie: Yeah man, 'cause that was that was always the rule, 'cause it when everyone went down to the shore, man, we would just go like ninety miles an hour down that down to the freaking shore, man. On Shamus: Yeah, man. Herbie: the boardwalk. Steve: Yeah, that's gone now. Well Herbie: War box gone? Steve: the boardwalk's there, but like the everything else was gone from that's where like they used to Seaside where we went, they used to film Jersey Shore there. yeah. And it got real popular. And then later on they had that superstorm Sandy, was it? Yeah. And it wiped out the whole Shamus: Yeah. Steve: everything there and then they really didn't rebuild it after. Then there was a fire shortly after that on on one of the arcade ends. Shamus: Yep. Herbie: Well that was actually was that was that the one where like remember we we got into like that big huge tank? So like if one could drop Steve: You could drive the tank. And then the other guy had rocket Shamus: Yeah, you mentioned that too. Steve: balls. And then Herbie: Yeah. Steve: all around the edges there were people that could could shoot in. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Yeah. Yeah, you said it was like a mix between, you know, like American gladiators and then like like that Atari game tank back in the day. Herbie: Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, a lot of hobbies and stuff we had, man. Shamus: Well, Herbie mentioned that you obviously you graduated high school and then you went into the military. What did you do for in the army? How long were you in and Steve: I did twenty three years. I did thirteen active and then the the rest was all federal service. Okay. And then I was a physical therapy assistant and a combat medic. Shamus: Okay. Steve: And it was a great it was a great time. I wouldn't have given up for anything. It was toured went to Fort Polk, Louisiana first, which was not a very good tour. Shamus: Shit man, that's where my dad went to that's where he went. Exactly. Steve: where my dad did basic training too. Yeah. If our parents went to Vietnam then they normally went there. And then after there we went let's see. Where the hell did I go after that? Virginia? Port Lee. Herbie: Yes. Yeah. Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: Yeah. South Park Mall. That's when I would act like I didn't speak English. Steve: Well no, no. I went from there from Fort Polk to Germany. Herbie: Yeah, but you went to that's right, yeah, because you came back. You came back and stationed. Yeah. Plus I named Steve: So I've been married thirty two years. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: God bless you, brother. Congratulations. Steve: Yeah, and she's a good girl. And let's see. Got two boys, Alec and Daniel. They're Herbie: Yeah. Help name his first. Yep. After Alexander the Great. Yeah. Shamus: Nice. Steve: And Donna wanted my wife wanted A L E K S A N D E R and I wanted A L E C. So we put a K on one side of a quarter and a C on the other and flipped it. Seven times it landed on C. Statistically Shamus: That's somebody telling you something, brother. Steve: I think it's wrong. Herbie: Yeah. Steve: Herbie's b parents came out, we went we did a huge tour. Shamus: Nice. Herbie: Yeah. Steve: we did down Wurzburg and then we went to Rotenburg with the walled in city. Yeah and then there was a torture museum there. So we we left Herbie's dad there. Herbie: Yeah, they had that Christmas store in there too, man. That was like that. Anyone that the listeners, if you ever go to Germany, Rotenburg is definitely a like a place to see 'cause it's it's it's a walled city and the only way you can really access it was a moat and it was like there was a dry moat and a drawbridge. But of course it was like paved over, but you can actually walk up through the ramparts through the whole town and can see everything. Yeah. Shamus: Pretty wild. Steve: They had a a army come in that was gonna fight and they challenged the leader to a drinking contest. And so it ended up that they left their town freely and peacefully because they lost the the drinking. Shamus: See that's how conflict should be. And that's why I said that's why you know why God created alcohol, right? So the Irish wouldn't rule the world. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Like, dude, if everybody could just sit down and be like, all right, if I outdrink you, yeah, you know, open up the straight horse. Herbie: moves. Yeah, that Yeah, that was a great trip too, man, because we Steve: That's what we Shamus: You know how much money. Herbie: went to Oktoberfest too, man. That was beautiful. Shamus: Yeah, Germany is. I've never been. I've heard it's beautiful. A lot of my buddies were stationed there. I'm a big World War Two buff. Yeah. So I would like to go someday and see like the Eagles Nest and you know all the stuff. Like the hospital you talked about, which I think is now a hotel we talked about before the pod. yeah, I would love to go see all that. Herbie: stuff man. Steve: I was in the sixty seventh cache, it was a field hospital slash permanent hospital and it w was previously a Nazi hospital that d served the officers. And then when the Americans when it changed over to the American side and they they sandblasted off all the Schwastikas and Eagles and and then it became a regular hospital. What's there is a crankenhouse. And Herbie: Yeah. Steve: The funny thing was that a s nurse is cranking svesta. Herbie: Yeah. Tell about the train underneath of it too, 'cause like Steve: Well there was supposed to be a train that came underneath with the with the wounded and then would drop off all the the officers there and it was really creepy at night when you had to do Herbie: No. Shamus: And we're doing C Q or staff duty, man. I'm sure walking through there must have been Steve: Yeah, there was a lot of rats that you Norwegian rats that are big, they look like cats. Jesus. Shamus: Mm-hmm. Steve: My one buddy was playing, he was my assistant at during staff duty one night and he was playing soccer down the hall with this big Norwegian rat. I was just get rid of it, man. I'm like, just get rid of it. Herbie: Right down the street from there was a place called the House of A hundred and Fifty Beers. that was great. Shamus: Mm. Herbie: I was getting Schwenschwast over there like all the time, it was great. Shamus: I'm you guys made it to Amsterdam too, while you're there, right? Herbie: And Paris. Shamus: I've been there, man. Herbie: Fine right. I was pissed off too, because if you guys know us, remember w when we went there, it was like painted chocolate brown so it looked like a big piece of c like freaking candy. And it didn't look like that like it did in Superman two. I was so pissed. Steve: There was a lot of cloud cover then when we went. We we really couldn't get pictures of the Eiffel Tower. Yeah. So he's like posing next to this little tiny one. And then Herbie: Yeah, to take pictures and stuff. Steve: Yeah, we we we had the people that were with us, one of them was injured. He had a broken ankle and he didn't he hadn't gotten it looked at yet. Shamus: Wow. Steve: So we're tromping around Paris and he's limping and we're like, What's wrong with you? Herbie: Yeah. Steve: Poor Demetrius had a broken ankle. Herbie: Wow. Yeah. I mean like the day we went there, like he was he was actually went to high school with us too, so he was also when he went he also went into the army and he was stationed in Baumholder. Yeah. Yeah. Shamus: Okay. Steve: Yeah, we met up and then drove over to Paris and then we went to Amsterdam. Amsterdam was very it would have had a much different effect later in life when you're not in the military. Where you can indulge in the in the Shamus: yeah, I know what you're talking about, brother. Steve: All the culture. Herbie: yeah, there was there was a lot of culture going on over in Amsterdam, man. I was like, Jesus Christ. Steve: All their culture is legal there. And and then what we didn't know was that the train shuts down at three AM. Yeah. Shamus: yeah. If you're not on it, you're beat. Yeah. Steve: So then the zombies come out. Herbie: yeah, dude. And it was like the fog out there too. Steve: this fog that was here we are in Asherdam this fog rolls in it's creepy looking it looks like the scene from Michael Jackson's thriller yeah and these attics start coming out yeah and we're we're like we're staying in a hotel and we've we finally get down this it was like a minivan Herbie: Yeah. Steve: And we all pile in and we're like we're staying in this place called Harlem. Herbie: Yeah, the Harlem Hotel. Steve: And so we we we get that they get us back there. And yeah, we had we had seen some live shows while we were there. It was crazy. Herbie: It's a lot of stuff. Steve: Red light district is very, very, very Herbie: For all you single people out there, go check out the red light district. It's it's yeah. Shamus: Any place. Like Korea's like that. Herbie: yeah, man. Shamus: Not Steve: Okay. Shamus: right now though, apparently they're snatching people up down there for ransom and stuff. So when would you ever get a chance? Hit Baja Tijuana. Steve: Right. Herbie: Yeah, 'cause it was like when we walked up to the train station, it really did remind me like John Carpenter's The Fog, 'cause was like a bunch of people out there. We're walking towards this beautiful building and there's thousands or hundreds of bikes out there. Steve: There's thousands there's thousands, bicycles. And then he's he's joking, Where's my bike? There's all these bicycles out in front and I think it's w where you use a bike and you leave a bike. Shamus: like them city bike things. Okay. Herbie: But was just like, I mean, we were like, we're walking through these people because like the fog was dense. And it's just it literally it was just like John Carpenter's the fog. There were just like a bunch of people and we're like, they they shuffled. They were really slow. And I was like, Jesus Christ, they're gonna fucking just grab us and eat us. And we had to like walk through this like this herd of Amsterdam druggy zombies. Shamus: What was that one movie where the guy was just like just act like no no Bill Murray did it in Zombie Lane too, but like they like just act like him and they were like they were like walking with him showing that Herbie: Yeah. This is a great movie, man. Yeah. Steve: We'll go to the Winchester. Herbie: That was a great trip though. But yeah, this guy's been responsible for so much of my nerd stuff and you know, when we grew up we like, you it'd always be like sleepovers and same thing with TJ. If I wasn't there, TJ would either stay at a h my house, his house. And it was just like a tight group. So like when we when we were growing up we used to watch like a lot of the movies like Red Dawn, Stand By Me, and we could eat like our staples. Shamus: Iconic staple. Anything in the eighties and early nineties is Herbie: But like when we when we used to watch these movies, we actually be like we could our group was actually some of those characters. You know, I was like the crazy kid from Stand By Me. He was more like Chris Chambers. TJ w TJ of course was was the chunky kid. You know, he was always the chunky kid like the thing 'cause he was always like the the the sweet little lovable fuzzbull. And we used to like squeeze all the time. Shamus: It's amazing how that works, how like each movie kind of relates to every group of kids. Like I mean, if you take that mov the Sandlot was like that. Goonies. Goonies. I mean there's a ton of Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Like even like the Lost Boys. yeah. Like you had, you know the Frog Brothers and shit. Yeah. So yeah, it it's kinda amazing. And and that's just writing. You know, the people writing in movies and stuff like that. Or even like The Breakfast Club. You know, everybody well somebody's a jock, somebody's a nerd, somebody's you know, it it's crazy. Herbie: I think like those movies, it's just everyone connects to those movies. You know what I mean? Because you can see like your your friend group in that group in that scenario. Shamus: And even now, as we're adults, like when I first the first Avengers movie, and I was just kinda like, Yeah, I can see where, you know, the meat heads to Hulk and, you know Steve: Yeah. Shamus: But so you did twenty three years, you got out, you said you settled in Tennessee? Yep. Steve: We're in Clarksville, Tennessee now. And it's it's a little town. It's military town. they're good to the vets and they're good to the military there. Yeah, we have five acres and we go there and we shoot guns and Herbie: I don't know. Shamus: I I don't know why I stayed here when I retired, man. Herbie: Right, it's like I don't know man. Shamus: He probably pays like a thousand dollars a year in property taxes on five acres or something. Herbie: Don't want to rub it in, but yeah. Shamus: I paid a month, bro. Herbie: That's what I was actually just gonna start thinking about doing. I was gonna try to open up instead of OnlyFans, I was thinking about opening up a company and be the chairman and CEO of a place called Only Feet. So I could sell pictures of my feet and have other people work Steve: Right. Herbie: for me to sell pictures of their feet. No, not really, but I just something Shamus: Have you done research? Who have sexy feet? What people would consider sexy. Herbie: No, I got one weird one from the surgery and I got a regular one. So I got like the before and after one, so maybe I I could corner the market with that. And then I can have other people with pretty feet work for me and I can be the chairman and CEO and get more feet. Yeah. Steve: Yeah. Herbie: All the money. All the money. Yeah, and I could buy more Star Wars stuff, I could buy more ninja stuff, I could buy I could buy a cool house. Shamus: Now if you become f I because there are things as hand models and foot models. If you are famous because of your feet, do you have to sign autographs with your feet or do you Herbie: I would do it. Steve: No do it. Herbie: For an extra fee? Hell yeah. Shamus: I could just see that. Don't sign it with your hands, hide it with your foot. Herbie: What's going to try to do, man? I'm gonna go on Shark Tank and I'm gonna like pitch the idea to the cubes and be like, Only feet. Only feet. Copyrighted by Herbie. No one copy this stuff. It's mine. Only feet is mine. Shamus: So what is it you like to do in your free time? besides shoot guns. Steve: Yeah, or shoot guns. I turkey hunt now. I just got into turkey hunting. Herbie: There's plenty around here to help us get rid of these turkeys. Shamus: Buddy of mine and we talked about this before, a buddy of mine says they're one of the smartest things to hunt. And he's scared to death of And that's why he hunts them. Yeah. So I would so is that is that true? Does that have any kind of to it? Steve: Their their eyesight their eyesight is is genius and they can they can look across the field and go, Hunter Shamus: 'Cause his big joke was like it's like the shark movie, Jaws, he was like, have you ever looked into an eye of a wild turkey? Just Herbie: But Shamus: jack like you play linebacker in the NFL and he was just like you ever man they're creepy those things will fucking They scare Steve: Yeah. Shamus: the shit out of me. And now this guy's hunting bear, elk, like all over Steve: I've been lived in Alaska for eleven years. Shamus: Okay. So so you know what he's talking about. Steve: Yeah. Shamus: Okay, so turkeys are no Herbie: Yeah, yeah. See see listeners, they are no joke, goddammit. Shamus: Especially the ones in Mount Holly. Yeah. 'Cause they're all ganged up, you know what I mean? Herbie: Those are the ones that can actually Steve: No they can get away with it. Herbie: Plus they can look at you and know how much change you got in your pockets. Just like Jesus Christ. Steve: Yeah, but I would I was entering a couple tournaments this year. I got second place and then fourth place in the tournaments. Shamus: Okay, what do you is that that's bird shot you hit them with or turkey shot? Turkey Luke. Turkey Turkey Luke. Okay. Steve: Turkey turkey. It's like a six. Shamus: okay, I gotcha now. I understand. Steve: And Shamus: Now are they is it is like deer season up here? Like is there like a turkey season? Steve: It's in the in Tennessee, the the one that I go to is in the spring. It's in near near Easter. Shamus: Okay. That is pretty cool. Steve: You just go out in bl in a blind and sit there and wait for them to come and call and then you'll hear you go out before dark and right at dawn you'll start hearing coming down from the trees. And sleeping they they roost in the trees. They can they they Shamus: so they do sleep in trees. How the hell do they get up there? They can't fly Steve: can fly short distances. Herbie: No shit. See? No, not another reason why I don't trust turkeys, man, they're like, I can't fly it. They're all up in a frickin' tree. I didn't know that. Steve: Yeah, yeah, they they roost in the trees and then so to to check to see where there's where they are around you, they'll do like an owl hoot and they hate owls. So th all of a sudden all the toms that are still in the trees will start gobbling. Shamus: okay. Steve: So it kind of gives you the the let know where hey you're in a good zone. Yeah. Shamus: Yeah, get your bearings a little bit. Steve: And then or a crow. They hate crows too. They'll do crow calls. Herbie: Man, there's like crowd. Shamus: I can understand owls because owls eat other birds and chickens. Apparently it's but do crows eat? Crows I got you. I gotcha. Herbie: Probably the eggs and stuff too, right? Damn, Steve: Yeah, so it's Herbie: there's beef. There's goddamn crow and owl beef with turkeys. No. Shamus: I g I 'cause I know we got crows and turkeys up here. I'm w well this is who d last night I heard it now 'cause I so I wonder if they're beefing up here too. Herbie: They probably are, man. Shamus: That's Steve: Yeah, it's cool. And then I do wood burnings on the side. I have a little Facebook page. It's it's Blue Moose Artworks. Shamus: Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna push that for you, bro, after you leave for the next couple episodes. for those of you who don't know, and we'll probably I think Herbie will put it up on social media page. He showed us some of the artwork that he does with wood and all that stuff and wood burning. And it's absolutely amazing. Like the detail and it it's like I said, dude, you're very talented. I appreciate it. And like I said, we're gonna let our listeners know where they can, you know, look at it and maybe hit you up and Steve: Yeah, we can get you a commission. Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: Yeah, well we go to video I'm gonna see a couple of his word burnings. Like we he did one for me for for the pals episode 'cause that's that's that's something that's that me and Steve old dear is like when when we lost TJ, we always had like that type of idea of like, you know, just that that pals mentality. Shamus: No, absolutely. Herbie: Just you know, 'cause we've been you know, we're like br you know, brothers really. We always brothers. Yeah. Shamus: Is there an easy is there a certain kind of wood that's easy obviously oak's tougher than pine. Steve: Wood is called is what I order. And then there's another one called Empress Wood. they're both decorative that the ladies will use them for the weddings, for the centerpieces. Shamus: Okay. Steve: but they're you can get on them from Amazon and stuff like that. Shamus: Is that your favorite type of wood to use? Yeah. Okay. Is there a favorite kind of subject matter you like to do or? Steve: No, just about anything everything. I like deer. I like yeah, mostly deer. feathers are are tough. Shamus: Yeah, I was gonna say you don't go into deep but I'll tell you what you're doing pretty good from what I've seen, man. You're Steve: Thank you. Shamus: very talented. Herbie: Plus he's got like the you the geek side too, so he's doing like SpongeBob and Shamus: I saw the but the Bart Simpson one hit me right off the bat. I was like, 'Cause that was my main one. Steve: I did Bart. I've done I've done several of It's just like tattooing on wood basically. Shamus: And that's exactly what it looks like. And like the when you showed me the one you I guess the diver commissioned the deep sea diver with the like how it was just like standing and like in the middle health you could see like another diver coming up there. Herbie: Download. Shamus: Yeah, it was we're gonna post that one. Yeah, that's cool. Because that one was really impressive, dude. Yeah. but like you said, man, they look just like tattoos and it's crazy. Steve: yeah. Herbie: Especially like very artistic cause, you know, we painted the miniatures, we used to draw all the time. It was it was it was always into that and that kind of I used to like doing that too before I moved here. So like meeting him, that just like ignited like all my extra nerd stuff because I was even away from comics for a while and when they showed me like that the mech of comic books with the frickin' you know, the the the the mobile home thing. And it was just like every drawer had comic books in it. There was a huge frickin' poster with all the Marvel characters. We to play guns and just do some stupid stuff. We even used to go. I don't know if people like around South Jersey, like we used to go to place called Cyber on Chemicals where there was a waterway. And we used to Shamus: Right up the street from Bob's hole. Herbie: we used to reenact like fights in there. So we'd like mud slinging fights, and I would just like just mud myself up and look like Arnold Schwarzenegger from Predator, and I'd be in the Steve: Probably protected from all the chemicals we've been rolling in. Shamus: Yeah, I was just gonna say you guys are probably like i if anybody walked in there like one of them radiation detectors Herbie: Yeah, shoot. Geiger Clown. Yeah, Steve: Okay. Herbie: we look like the Toxic Avenger to go wow, man. Shamus: Yeah. Well how did you get enough? 'Cause like you said it it's kinda like tattooing, you gotta draw the picture on there and first so obviously you're a great artist. What drew you to wood burning instead of just doing something on a canvas or whatever? Steve: I don't I don't know. I started it when I was like ten years old with the style that you were talking about before the sh show, the the it looks like a soldering iron style that y that everyone gets and then burns themselves and says, Screw this. Shamus: Yeah, yeah, it's usually something your grandmother gets you for Christmas or something like that, the wood burning kit. Steve: Yeah. It comes with a bookmark and and you put your name on it and then you're done. And this was I don't know, I'd I've been doing it since for so long. I it's I d I oil paint though. Shamus: so you do do other stuff too? Okay. Steve: Yeah. And then a lot of the a lot of the wood burns I add watercolor to now 'cause Jack Yes here told me that backgrounds. Herbie: Do the background. Steve: He doesn't like he hates the backgrounds being empty. So I'll add it I'll I'll add Shamus: Okay. Tell him he's gotta pay for those ones. Steve: color with the backwash and Herbie: Yeah, because this way the for it almost looks like a finished piece because if it stands out more, you can be be able to sell more. So like me with the way I've known him forever, like we're just completely brutally honest with each other. It's like there's no lies or it's just looking out for each other. That's it. All the fucking matters, man, because it's you know, you're my brother, dude. Shamus: Yeah, that it's it's like I said, it's amazing stuff what he's doing. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: So I guess you just it's just something you find solace in, just takes you away from all the shit. Steve: Once I'm in once I'm dialed in I'll I'll sit in a recliner and I'll put it put an old movie on and and just start drawing and then there's a piece of carbon underneath of it and then after to get done drawing then Shamus: Transfer. Steve: just burn burn it and then so it's almost you have to draw it twice since because you have the you you're originally tra tracing it on from another picture. And then burning it. Herbie: Yeah. Yeah. Then panty and shellacking and all that crap. And then sends me pictures, then I get to critique it. Steve: Tells me. Shamus: Has he done anything for you yet? Herbie: yeah, tons of stuff. Matter of fact, got three pieces now for for the set. For the set? Yeah. And also the he's got like a lot of like did a Doc Holiday one, like I'll be I'm your Huckleberry, 'cause we all gr like all of all three of us like grew up on the same foot. Shamus: iconic character that is like we talked about before the show that is known galactically wide because of Val Kilmer's portrayal that dude everybody somehow, some way has a small part of Doc Holiday. Herbie: Yeah man. He's got a I got a wood burning of Spider Man 'cause that of course that's like my favorite Marvel character. But also Uncle Pacos from the old Tom and Jerry cartoons. the crambo Steve: I made him one of those and it says crambone on the bottom. Shamus: Nice. Herbie: 'Cause I was the first one to sh I I think with like probably right with with the porns and stuff. When we were kids, my parents used to go to Columbus Farber's Market on the weekends. So we all all of us kids be riding around in our bikes and I'm like, yo, I gotta show you guys something. And it'd be like a whole neighborhood. Shamus: Old neighborhood. Herbie: Of all these dudes, man, in my living room, and we'd pop on this porn and it was just like it was just complete silence, man. Everyone's just like, whoa. Yeah. Steve: Yeah. Herbie: So whenever they left, we'd be like, 'cause you know, like the back of the day when you were kids, like everyone had their bikes and that was where you knew where everyone was at. And we would just like send up a big rally and be like Parents are out. Let's go. Time to pop it off. Cause there really wasn't that many girls in our neighborhood. So that was just like this is and you know, we never seen porn and stuff before, so I got to open up the the experience for everybody. Steve: So then every time we're in an elevator Herbie: Yeah. Steve: he puts his leg up on the on the on on the side of the rail Shamus: On a roll. Herbie: Who doctors? Steve: and starts acting there, act acting out like he's Herbie: Like the same 'cause if we all like back then it like what, three movies that like my parents had. So it was just like it was basically like I think my uncle gave my dad the movies. My mom's not in really into that stuff, but they kept it in the closet. So it was like the same three movies we'd watch for like, I don't know, like a year. It was just d like all that other stuff, man. Like manhunt of course and and Steve: played he would play games where he would hide Herbie's the ninja and we would get so tired of looking for him it was just all right we give up you bastard come on out you cheesy bitch Herbie: Yeah. Steve: and he'd yell from underneath of a a la pile of leaves that was seven feet from us Herbie: 'Cause not only that for high school, we used to actually meet at my house to f you know, for the bus. So we that's actually where we used to watch the old Bugs Boyney cartoons and all that. So there were certain characters that we used to entertain all the time. Yeah. And freaking like, you know, the the airplane, the the the airplane gremlin and the the the buzzard and as all those characters. So there's always stuff that we always related to all the time of like from us growing up as kids. And there's sometimes there'd be days where my mom was a nurse and and she used to work night shift. So there were some times like she didn't get to see me sometimes. So she'd be like, You can stay home today from school. I'm like, yes, but everyone would come to my house to like come in because it'd be like raining and stuff. I'm like, sorry guys, I'm not going to school today. Like, Mother Not going to school. Yeah. Shamus: So we I mean you guys said you grew up collecting comic books like we all did and stuff like that. Let me ask you, who's your favorite comic book character of all time? Steve: Spider Man. Shamus: Okay. I think we're Herbie: He did get me into Wolverine though. Steve: Yeah, that and Spider Man and Wolverine were the two. for as kids we did snicked on everything. We had three lines and it said snicked on everything. Herbie: Yeah, that was almost like your like personalized autograph and stuff. Mine used to be like the yin yang. Shamus: I always put at the end of like all my book reports and stuff, like enough said. Yeah. Because of the shit in the back with like all the mailbag stuff and Stan Lee would always put enough Herbie: Yeah. Yeah. Well his brother Sean, his younger brother was more into like Punisher and Rom and T J was more like he what what was the Yeah, he had like groove? Steve: He liked funny things. Grew the grew the wanderer. Yeah. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Like I was gonna say it was like Hagar the Vikings like the com but it was a little bit more goofy. Yeah, I do remember that. Herbie: Yeah. yeah. So we just grew up now. Steve: Yeah, Garfield and he had Simps Simpsons stuff like that. Yeah. Shamus: Why real quick, I don't mean to interrupt. On plex. Remember when we talked about like they don't show like the Halloween Garfield episode anymore and blah blah blah. Herbie: you hear that, listeners? Steve: Yeah. Herbie: Halloween Garfield's on plaques. Shamus: Hell yeah. Yeah man. Yeah, that's what I'm Steve: Never seen that one. No. Shamus: saying, dude. It's such a it was like the eighties version of Garfield with and it it's like the they do the Christmas one where they go to grandmom's house and he said, That's on there. Herbie: And stuff. Shamus: Yeah. So all that stuff's on there. Herbie: Yeah, we just that's that's what we used to do too. It's like even there are our sleepovers and stuff too. Just like stay up all night playing video games. Yeah. That Steve: Or rent movies. Shamus: Yeah, that's what I mean, all kids that Herbie: and that was the the one the one time we were playing and we were playing Ninja Gaiden. I think Ninja Gaiden too. And this was like back in the day where like you couldn't pause the goddamn I mean you could pause the game, but if you you couldn't save your spots. So we got to the very end and it was the the game system was actually in his younger brother's Sean's room. So he was like, Get out of my room, get out of my room. We start like teasing him and stuff, but he bumped into the Nintendo. And it froze Dude, yeah. It reset the whole goddamn thing. We're at the very end of the boss battle and like all like me, Steve and TJ Hey he looks like he's so busy. It's just like mother. We went through all that shit, dude. And it was like that Nintendo was so freaking hot, dude. And we even like when we would pause it, we would take turns like trying to beat the final boss, like three of us. And then Sean walked in and just nudged it a little bit, dude. And you couldn't hear a pin dropper like Shamus: He's over there shaking his head with this look on his face like that motherfucker He's still mad. Steve: Yeah. Yeah that that was one of them Herbie: So like and when he used to come over, like of course, you know, for dinner and stuff and the the one the one time we just be like, you know, my favorite thing like rice and canned tuna fish. And I remember him asking my mom, he's like Yeah, how do you make this? Shamus: She Steve: It was canned tuna can tuna, white rice and diced up tomatoes. Herbie: That was it man. But yeah, mom would like cooking like seven chickens and stuff. All my friends would come over with. Steve: Chickens going on like like KFC going. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: that's what there was a couple of times this summer I'd pull up at his house and pick him up or something. And I'm always I'm I'm always and don't get me wrong, I just don't because every time you walk in, it's like, you guys I need and she comes out with like Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: a they don't understand the meaning of the word plate now. So like she'll come out with all this stuff and I'm like, man, we'll for an hour and a half eating and stuff. God love her for that though. And her food is amazing. Herbie: It was like a big old plate of rice and beans and half a chicken. Back then, like dudes were like, I don't know if I could finish it. Sure enough, dude, you finish the shit out of that. Well that's the pri Yeah. Get the out of Shamus: 'Cause I get like I can't get up. I got the itis. I gotta Steve: Ha ha ha. Shamus: climb back in my car and I'm just like, you fat Herbie: Yeah. so good though. Yeah, but yeah, man, a lot of great memories and you know, with this guy and it's just you open up open me up to like a lot of the like nerd stuff that I'm I still like hold dear to this day. Shamus: What brings you into town? I know you said you still live in Tennessee and Herbie said while you're up here we should have you on. Steve: We got a wedding tomorrow for my Shamus: Who's getting married? Steve: wife's cousin getting married. Shamus: Local? Steve: in Mount Laurel. Shamus: Okay, yeah, that's right up the road. So how long they been together? Are they young or younger than a couple? Steve: They're a young couple. They they're doing they're doing it right. Shamus: Okay. You wanna give a shout out? You want to mention by name and all that stuff and wish all that luck and Okay. Whoever Herbie: Yeah, nah, he's like I don't really know him that much. Shamus: they are. From all of us at Pork Rolling and Change, we wish you guys many years of happiness and congratulations. So are you glad to be back? Is it good to come back every once in a while? I'm sure you still have family up here. Steve: We just got our first Wawa in Clarksville, Tennessee, which is in Shamus: Now you never have to come back. Steve: that Wawas being every two miles, what they have there is Dollar Generals every two miles. Shamus: Okay. Steve: So you can run a Dollar General every two miles, it's it's you can clock it. Shamus: Nice. How long has Wawa been in your town? Steve: like three months. Shamus: Is it the same as it is up here? Steve: They took people from here, ship Shamus: and shipped them down there to Steve: them there, and to to to to launch it correctly. Shamus: Okay, because we have a lady we have a listener, a lady friend of ours who lives in Tampa and she says there's a Wawa there and she's It's nothing like the shit from Jersey. Herbie: Yeah, so maybe they gotta send some Jersey people down there to like Steve: I haven't had any of their cold cut stuff yet, but but I had their pretzels and their their iced tea. yeah. Herbie: Yeah. Steve's an ice. Yeah, the Wawa this this guy right here is the I We Yeah. Steve: I'll buy a gallon at a time. Two gall two gallons at a time. Herbie: Iced tea? What what's your favorite Wa Wa iced tea flavor? Steve: Captain Hair. Herbie: That's right, he loves that shit, man. It was like when we go to visit even back in the day when yeah, tasty cakes. Shamus: No, that's a regional a lot of people don't realize that. That's a regional thing, man. When I was in the military Yeah, they just they they're not the same after that. Steve: They're frozen and then they're like the ones that are day old and they might as well not not even have shipped them. Shamus: When I was in the military, a bunch of my buddies who I think it was like three or four, was there three? They weren't going home for Thanksgiving. And I was like, Fuck get in the car, dude. So I called my mom, she's like, Yeah, bring up. So I bought up to Philly, Jersey. I got tasty cakes, I turned them on to Scrapple. Yeah. there were what the else, what was the other thing? Well, Philly pretzels, obviously, and cheesesteaks. They wanted those. but they were like, What the fuck are these? And I was like, It's tasty cake, bro. Like, what the hell are these? And I was just like, We can't get them down. I was like, so we bought a bunch of boxes. Every time we got deployed, we went over to you know, there. Yeah. my mom would send us boxes of that shit man. And she always said that. She's like, I'm not gonna freeze them before I I said, I don't freeze them. Unless they're the the peanut butter candy cake. Those you can freeze. Herbie: the crimp it? Yeah, yeah, Steve: Yeah. Herbie: yeah. You can't freeze that man. That's sacrilege. Shamus: But yeah, there's a lot of stuff that we do here that like we I think we talked about on the one show, and I don't know if you guys have this problem down there, like bagels are different in the south compared to up here because they said something about the water or something like that. So Steve: Yeah, that they don't taste as chewy. They're they're kind of it's hard to describe. It's it's just a d not a home taste. Yeah. You know, it's but when I'm ho when I'm home I I do get a lot of hoogies. Yeah. I'm Herbie: And now he's allergic to tomatoes. Steve: allergic to tomatoes now. It was a late in life allergy. It it is Shamus: Doesn't that suck? Like out of nowhere you're just like, hey man, I like sauerkraut now. This is great, but now I'm allergic to the shit I've been eating since I was two. Herbie: He came up when he I saw him last Sunday and I bought a bunch of food, like tailgating food, to watch the game and half it was all frickin' tomatoes so I'm trying to kill like my brother. I was like, geez, I f totally forgot about it. You know, like Italian I got like a two-foot Italian hoagie, salsa, Doritos, you know. Shamus: That's a shame. Steve: Tomatoes are in tomato powder. Yeah. So they're in a lot of snacks. Herbie: Yeah, tomorritos and stuff like that, he can't find Steve: Yeah, anything barbecue. Shamus: Well yeah, I kinda figured that 'cause that's in the ketchup family. Yeah. But I didn't know. I figured Doritos would have a little Herbie: Mm-hmm. Steve: Yeah they have tomato powder. Shamus: bit. Like is it really bad? Like almost like I was gonna say. Steve: Yeah. I I've I've tapped in the the fates before and said I'm eating this anyway. Shamus: Okay. Risk life and limb and you know death. Herbie: In the suit of Wawa hoogies. Steve: But we went to we went to an Italian restaurant in Medford yesterday. Shamus: Femina? Or Tarantellos? Steve: It started with an I. Shamus: good place too. Ileanos or something like Yeah, Iliano. That's a good place. There's a lot of places around. Steve: Yeah, it was Ileana. And I got linguini with white clam sauce. So can't get that down south. Nope. So and then the weird thing here is they have sweet tea down south and Jersey they have unsweet tea and then they'll have a sweet flavored tea like a raspberry tea. It's not the same and Shamus: Yep, it's not the same. Some people do make you gotta get it at somebody's house though. They'll do the sun tea. They call it sun tea up here. It's kind of like sweet tea in Georgia, but sweet tea down south is just amazing. Herbie: Jay's mom would used to make the sun tea all the Shamus: So yeah, sweet tea is down south. There but I'll tell you what, they do breakfast differently than we do up here. They're more big portions. they have fat back and grits and all that. But up here they don't have no diners. Steve: Gravy, white sausage gravy, over biscuits. No, Herbie: They ain't got the scrapple. Steve: and they don't have pork roll. Herbie: No, yeah. Shamus: We don't have that either. Steve: Farley gets me pork roll. Herbie: We'd have to smoke we'd have to bring that with So Yeah, so every time when we go to visit him or something like that, it's either gotta be awate pork roll. Shamus: We don't have to bring the Wawa T anymore. He's got it right in town. Steve: Yeah. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: When are you heading back? Steve: Tuesday we're gonna fli we're gonna drive halfway to Virginia and then we'll be home by Wednesday. It's a fourteen hour ride. Shamus: Nice. Nice how long is it w how long I'll say. That's that's pretty wild, man. Herbie: I remember like when he actually got when he went to boot camp our friends we had a a friend of ours, Eric, Eric and he was huge into music. He even had like an Eddie Van Halen you should do you should see the way this guy plays guitar though, Shay. Steve: He's a idetic memory with with music. Shamus: okay. Steve: So the HBO theme was on one time and he just sat grew HBO theme. Shamus: I fucking hate dudes. Herbie: Yeah, and his red guitar is it looks like the Eddie Van Halen one. The Frankenstrat. Yeah. So like he actually used to do a lot of like we go to his house and like he'd play us music. And even the one time when he was getting married, Donna was mad late. So we used to bust his balls thinging, like, you she she checking out and everything. But it got to the point where the organ lady and the priest was getting ready to leave. So of course her buddy Eric was actually gonna do Yeah. Steve: He's bride. Shamus: Okay. Herbie: And he never played it before, so I know. Because there was like a yeah. Shamus: On piano or the guitar? Yeah. I was gonna say you should plug it and just make Herbie: But he would actually he started getting into like recording stuff. So when Steve went to boot camp, we made a tape and we just did like all these funny skits and stuff. Yeah. Steve: He had an eight track Shamus: okay. Steve: splitter. Shamus: Okay. Steve: They did a bunch of skits of the them me being in basic basic training and they had a belch contest. They had and Herbie's girlfriend won the belching contest. Shamus: Yeah. Should have married her. Herbie: Yeah, right. Steve: Yeah when she was and when it was her turn to belch, they did a lion roar and then she's like, oops, excuse me. Herbie: Even did like the one commercial where cause we used to go to places where I would act like I don't speak English. So I was Airvay and Rico. Yeah, you mentioned that before. Yeah, we did a we did a music commercial, you know, like back in the day when they'd be like, you listen to the majestic sounds of the pan flute with Airvay and Rico. So he'd be like, Steve: And a building. Herbie: listen to him as he does covers of Fleetwood Mac and it'd be like, tell Lies like the music, and I'd like in the back with the swoop going It was just rattle off a bunch of songs. Steve: Like journey. Shamus: you remember those commercials? Like late night with like the golden sea or the golden fifties, sixties, seventies on Steve: And he c it was just random. Herbie: I didn't know what the hell I was doing, so it was just random flute playing. I wish we found that tape, man, 'cause that Shamus: absolutely. Herbie: And at the towards the end, like you know, we're just telling them how much we miss them and stuff. We're like, good luck, and we had the Stand By Me song at the end. Yeah. Shamus: That's awesome. Steve: Yeah, they did a did a video when we were kids on the boardwalk or one of the or maybe I think it was Six Flags. We all went to Six Flags and the Great Adventure. And they did a video and we were doing to Stand By Me. and our friend Eric he had artificial legs. So he flips Herbie: Yeah, it's like for karaoke. Steve: his legs off and he's dancing them in the video and Herbie: That's awesome. Eric was fast too, man. It was just like Eric, we're still in contact with Eric and Chris and but it's just like that whole childhood was just awesome and because of this big tall bastard. Yeah, man. That shit Shamus: I'm glad to see you guys are still friends. Herbie: ain't ever gonna end between us, man. Fucking pals. Steve: Yeah. Shamus: Hmm. I guess we can start wrapping this one up then, gentlemen. Wanna say thanks to Steve for stopping by. I appreciate it. You wanna say hello to the family or anything before we get out of here? Steve: Yeah, I'd give a big hug and love from Steve and Donna and Alec and Daniel. Herbie: And Alex engaged too. yeah. but he's got a nice girlfriend. We like Steve: No, not yet. Not yet.
