- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:12Speaker 1: Blue Nation.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Welcome to Just the Cats. My name is Michael Bennett
- 0:17Speaker 2: on this Tuesday, September 29th. I hope everybody's doing well today.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Absolutely beautiful day outside, by the way. You know, a
- 0:25Speaker 2: little on the chilly side. It's clear, which makes it
- 0:29Speaker 2: even chillier. What the heck did I just say?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Chillier.
- 0:34Speaker 2: But, anyway, that's the way my dad would talk. I
- 0:37Speaker 2: am not kidding. The older I get, the more I
- 0:39Speaker 2: sound exactly like my dad. So, anyway, Justin Kalen's with me,
- 0:43Speaker 2: which I'm very– I think I'm excited.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Am I allowed to say what I want to say today, Justin,
- 0:48Speaker 2: just to make sure?
- 0:49Speaker 1: It's your show. Oh, okay. I'm just making sure now
- 0:52Speaker 1: because– I mean, when have I ever been able to
- 0:54Speaker 1: stop you in the past? Well, clearly you were the
- 0:57Speaker 1: other day. I'll tell you right now. I've been able
- 0:59Speaker 1: to stop you one time. My goodness. My goodness.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Listen, I'm in Baltimore on Thursday, and you were kind
- 1:08Speaker 2: of giving me a hard time on Wednesday.
- 1:09Speaker 1: We're not going to have our crosstalk. You'll be gone.
- 1:14Speaker 2: It's like, you know what? I'm in a great mood
- 1:18Speaker 2: Thursday morning. I thought, here's what. Justin's probably struggling because
- 1:22Speaker 2: of the fact that he's got that entire show, Sunrise
- 1:26Speaker 2: with Scoots.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Do you think I struggle? No, no, no, no. I
- 1:29Speaker 1: thought some days you do. You come in here and
- 1:31Speaker 1: tell me. I can't believe I got through that whole show.
- 1:33Speaker 1: But I never struggle. I always get through it.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Very true.
- 1:37Speaker 2: But I thought, you know what? I'm going to do
- 1:39Speaker 2: you a favor. I'm going to call in. I'm in
- 1:40Speaker 2: a great mood. I'm on my way to Laurel Park.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I'm going to go see some of the horses and
- 1:46Speaker 2: hang out with the trainer.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You know what?
- 1:48Speaker 2: I got a few minutes. I think I'll call Justin. Well,
- 1:52Speaker 2: I call you.
- 1:53Speaker 1: A million times. I didn't call you a million times.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It was at least 20. It was not 20. Okay,
- 1:59Speaker 2: let's exaggerate just a little more. We can look up
- 2:03Speaker 2: on my phone and I can tell you exactly how
- 2:05Speaker 2: many times I call you. But I believe I called
- 2:07Speaker 2: four times.
- 2:08Speaker 1: No way. Yes. There's no way it was only four. Really?
- 2:13Speaker 1: No way. I mean, my phone line was blinking for
- 2:15Speaker 1: 10 straight minutes.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Well, it wasn't me then for 10 straight minutes. I'll
- 2:20Speaker 2: tell you that right now. All right. So, yep, four times.
- 2:25Speaker 1: So there you go. That's unbelievable. Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 2: So four times I called and I texted you. I said, hey,
- 2:32Speaker 2: let's do crosstalk. I miss it. And then you find Michael.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Just say what you got to say. I got things
- 2:40Speaker 2: I need to discuss.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Exactly. It's like, oh, my. I didn't plan for crosstalk.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Well, I think I'll hang up. I hung up. I said,
- 2:48Speaker 1: no problem. Sorry. Hung up.
- 2:50Speaker 2: And I'm dying laughing. I thought that was hilarious. The
- 2:54Speaker 2: way you reacted and the way I reacted back to you,
- 2:56Speaker 2: I thought was really funny. Well, you got nervous. You
- 3:01Speaker 2: texted me after your show, and instead of me replying
- 3:07Speaker 2: back to you, because you were kind of apologizing to me,
- 3:09Speaker 2: which I really appreciate.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I felt bad. And you should have. And you ruined
- 3:16Speaker 1: my radio show, but I should be the one that
- 3:18Speaker 1: feels bad. And I'm like, Oh no, no, no. You
- 3:22Speaker 1: can't feel bad. So I called you. Cause I feel
- 3:25Speaker 1: like at that point you got to talk. You can't
- 3:28Speaker 1: be texting.
- 3:29Speaker 2: And so I, I called you and I'm like, dude,
- 3:32Speaker 2: I thought it was hilarious. I loved how you reacted me.
- 3:35Speaker 2: And I loved how I reacted back to you. I just,
- 3:38Speaker 2: I enjoyed it. And then, I think I calmed you
- 3:40Speaker 2: down a little bit because you were kind of nervous.
- 3:42Speaker 2: You didn't want to upset me. No, I never want
- 3:44Speaker 2: to upset anyone. You know how I am.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Exactly. I don't like controversy. Yeah, you definitely don't. If
- 3:49Speaker 1: somebody's mad at me, that's not a good feeling. No. No.
- 3:53Speaker 2: It's not for me either. But there are times that
- 3:57Speaker 2: people get under my skin.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Guess what?
- 3:58Speaker 2: I like to get back under their skin. I just
- 4:01Speaker 2: save it.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 4:03Speaker 2: And then I save it for that day. Oh, here's
- 4:05Speaker 2: the day I can get back. And then I savor it.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I save and savor without a doubt.
- 4:10Speaker 1: But no, no, no, no.
- 4:11Speaker 2: With you, it's completely different. There's not a time that
- 4:15Speaker 2: you have really upset me at all.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Never.
- 4:18Speaker 2: I mean, you freak out and then I feel bad
- 4:21Speaker 2: for you. It's like, oh, no, no, no, no. When
- 4:23Speaker 2: we have technical issues, when you forget, oh, my gosh,
- 4:26Speaker 2: I got to go. And we have blank air on
- 4:28Speaker 2: the radio. It's like, I'm not going to get upset
- 4:30Speaker 2: with you. And the way you reacted to the other day,
- 4:33Speaker 2: I thought.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Was really funny. It did. It did come across very well.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I went back and I listened to the end of
- 4:39Speaker 1: the episode. Yes. On Thursday night. And it was the
- 4:42Speaker 1: way it came across was really, really good. It was.
- 4:45Speaker 1: It made for great radio.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I'm glad to hear that because I enjoyed it. I'm
- 4:49Speaker 2: literally laughing for like three or four minutes. After I
- 4:53Speaker 2: hung up from you. And I thought, okay, that was
- 4:55Speaker 2: a lot of fun. And then my day went on
- 4:57Speaker 2: from there. But then when you text me, it's like, no,
- 4:59Speaker 2: I got to call you.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Well, the frustrating part is I had mentioned it on
- 5:02Speaker 1: air several times. Whoever's calling, stop calling. I can't take
- 5:08Speaker 1: calls doing this show. And you just kept calling. That's
- 5:12Speaker 1: why I was like a volcano. It just eventually all exploded. Oh,
- 5:17Speaker 1: my gosh. You blew up at me. It's okay. So, anyway.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And I will again if you ever pull a stunt
- 5:22Speaker 1: like that in the future.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Oh, come on now. But, no, I had a fun-filled
- 5:28Speaker 2: few days. And so, anytime I'm around horses, I'm really happy.
- 5:33Speaker 2: And I've got a couple. One is getting ready to race. Uh,
- 5:38Speaker 2: are you ready for this?
- 5:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 2: He's going to make his debut. So this is a,
- 5:42Speaker 2: a horse, a beautiful horse. It's a gray horse.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Okay. Okay.
- 5:48Speaker 2: And Horacio deposit really likes it. He goes, Michael, if
- 5:51Speaker 2: he does as well as I think we'll, we'll sell
- 5:53Speaker 2: them to, um, uh, the, the barstool, uh, sports guy.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Cause you know, he's got that, uh, what's his name
- 6:00Speaker 2: dave portnoy portnoy has that uh his own racing deal
- 6:06Speaker 2: where it's just uh gray horses.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Is that the guy though that we want in charge
- 6:11Speaker 1: of a horse stable why not i don't know i'm
- 6:15Speaker 1: not a portnoy.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I think it's gopher grays or something like that and
- 6:19Speaker 2: he only buys gray horses i think it's a dumb move.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I mean it does seem dumb but just think of
- 6:25Speaker 1: all the people that bet on oh absolutely so he's
- 6:29Speaker 1: He's going to get a ton of money coming in
- 6:31Speaker 1: on his horse.
- 6:31Speaker 2: It's a gimmick, and it's probably a gimmick that will
- 6:35Speaker 2: work because of that. But if you really want to
- 6:37Speaker 2: go win, yeah, you're not going to win with a
- 6:40Speaker 2: gray every single time. I wonder if he feeds them
- 6:41Speaker 2: some of the pizza he buys. Ugh.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Can you imagine?
- 6:45Speaker 2: I used to give one of my horses beer.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Okay. And they loved beer. I had a dog that
- 6:49Speaker 1: loved beer. Oh, really? Yeah.
- 6:51Speaker 2: He also, you could not say the word. This is
- 6:53Speaker 2: a horse named Scrum. My all-time favorite horse. Big, beautiful, 17'1, 17'2,
- 7:00Speaker 2: hand horse.
- 7:01Speaker 1: So he's big.
- 7:03Speaker 2: You could not say the word banana around him because
- 7:06Speaker 2: he would freak out. He loved bananas so much. I mean,
- 7:11Speaker 2: you just had to, hey, we're... Mason, where's that thing?
- 7:14Speaker 2: And that's what you would have to say. Because as
- 7:17Speaker 2: soon as you said banana, he would just go nuts
- 7:20Speaker 2: because he knew he was getting ready to have his
- 7:21Speaker 2: favorite food.
- 7:22Speaker 1: That's how my dog is with the word play. Can't
- 7:25Speaker 1: say play. Oh, you cannot say play? He will freak
- 7:28Speaker 1: out every time. Like, yeah, we're going to play. Oh,
- 7:31Speaker 1: my gosh. That's funny. He starts doing circles in the house. Yeah,
- 7:35Speaker 1: it's crazy.
- 7:35Speaker 2: All right, I got to ask, how did John Wong do?
- 7:38Speaker 3: Great.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I thought he did a tremendous job. Did he?
- 7:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Okay, good. We stayed on topic for the most part.
- 7:43Speaker 1: He on Friday was very nervous about the whole Trevor
- 7:47Speaker 1: Kelsey experience like you were. a couple months ago, but
- 7:51Speaker 1: it was great radio. I thought they did a tremendous
- 7:54Speaker 1: job together, so that was fun to listen to on
- 7:56Speaker 1: the way to Solceria's Friday. Yeah. So that was a
- 7:59Speaker 1: good time. But yeah, we had some fun.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Did he go off topic with Trevor?
- 8:03Speaker 1: I'm just curious. Oh, very much.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I didn't have a.
- 8:05Speaker 1: There is... Nobody alive on planet Earth that could have
- 8:08Speaker 1: a conversation with Trevor on the radio and it doesn't
- 8:12Speaker 1: go off the rails.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I worry on radio Trevor and I are a little
- 8:15Speaker 2: too much alike. I worry off radio that we are
- 8:19Speaker 2: way far. We're solar planets away from each other. We
- 8:24Speaker 2: both have squirrel brains.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Yeah, completely.
- 8:27Speaker 2: And I love it. So, is he coming to.
- 8:30Speaker 1: To... replace you again anytime soon oh you want him
- 8:36Speaker 1: to no that's not what i'm saying no no no
- 8:39Speaker 1: i'll get him i'll get him in for the second
- 8:40Speaker 1: hour today you would say that he's a big cory
- 8:43Speaker 1: price guy he would he would enjoy the hell out of.
- 8:45Speaker 2: It he's a big cory price guy he loves cory
- 8:47Speaker 2: no we can't do that because then we all three
- 8:50Speaker 2: of us would go way off no we can't we
- 8:52Speaker 2: can't do that but i'm glad john did well uh
- 8:55Speaker 2: i got to listen to a few minutes of it
- 8:56Speaker 2: but i i was running the entire time literally running
- 8:59Speaker 2: the entire time so driving all over the state of Maryland.
- 9:02Speaker 1: So it was a lot of fun. Were you running
- 9:04Speaker 1: or driving? I was driving. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:06Speaker 2: No, I went to three different farms, one racetrack. I
- 9:11Speaker 2: was tempted. I had a little time one day, and
- 9:15Speaker 2: I thought, let's drive to Pimlico and see what it
- 9:17Speaker 2: looks like, get a little update on what it looks
- 9:19Speaker 2: like so far. And I'm like, yeah, I'm not driving
- 9:21Speaker 2: that far.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Oh, you didn't do it? No, I didn't.
- 9:23Speaker 2: But I did drive to Annapolis to have dinner at
- 9:27Speaker 2: one of my favorite restaurants. It's a hole-in-the-wall crab shack.
- 9:32Speaker 2: And got whole crabs.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Blue crabs. Oh, yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Because if you've never, have you ever gotten whole crab
- 9:39Speaker 2: before and peeled the meat out yourself and all that stuff?
- 9:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we. It's work. I had a buddy who, his
- 9:45Speaker 1: dad lived in Crystal River, Florida. Oh, yeah, sure. I
- 9:48Speaker 1: know exactly where Crystal River is. We would, so we
- 9:50Speaker 1: went out on the ocean and we were fishing all day. Well,
- 9:53Speaker 1: we got caught up in a low tide at one point.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:57Speaker 1: And there was this little island in the middle of
- 9:58Speaker 1: the ocean and there was all these. blue crabs oh
- 10:01Speaker 1: that's awesome so we we got out and we scooped
- 10:04Speaker 1: three or four of them up cooked them for dinner
- 10:06Speaker 1: that night yeah it was you're right it was a
- 10:08Speaker 1: lot of work to get three or four that's not
- 10:11Speaker 1: enough I mean, they were pretty decent size. They were? Okay.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I mean, we couldn't find many more than that. And
- 10:18Speaker 1: it was shallow water. My buddy was scared. The shark's
- 10:21Speaker 1: going to come. I wasn't scared at all. I was
- 10:24Speaker 1: out there to get my crab. But eventually, we had
- 10:26Speaker 1: to call it because he was being a baby.
- 10:28Speaker 2: You can't look at going in water like that and
- 10:30Speaker 2: thinking they're a shark.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I agree. You just can't. I agree.
- 10:33Speaker 2: The sharkers are just as scared of you as you
- 10:36Speaker 2: are of them.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Exactly. Well, and then we got the bottom of the
- 10:39Speaker 1: boat caught up on the bottom of the ocean because
- 10:41Speaker 1: the tide was so low. So we had to get
- 10:43Speaker 1: out and literally walk the boat off of the low tide. Oh,
- 10:48Speaker 1: that's fine. And he was freaking out the whole time. Really?
- 10:50Speaker 1: The whole time. Okay. That guy's got to just get
- 10:53Speaker 1: over himself. Like, it's a shark, dude. It's fine. Exactly.
- 10:57Speaker 1: If it bites your leg, it's a cool story to tell. Exactly.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I mean, the women will be flocking towards them. So anyway,
- 11:03Speaker 2: but all right. UK beat South Alabama. We're not going
- 11:07Speaker 2: to get too much into it because I know John
- 11:09Speaker 2: and you probably got into it a little deeper yesterday.
- 11:12Speaker 2: I looked at it as a really ugly first half.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:19Speaker 2: And what the telling story to me is how did
- 11:22Speaker 2: they come out? and play the second half. And that's
- 11:24Speaker 2: all I needed to know. I understand that you just
- 11:29Speaker 2: wish it wouldn't happen. You could tell. Will Stein was
- 11:33Speaker 2: really upset. He didn't want much to do with the
- 11:36Speaker 2: stupid interview at halftime or after the game. After the game,
- 11:40Speaker 2: I thought it was even more telling. Were you happy
- 11:42Speaker 2: with how your team... No, I wasn't at all. And
- 11:46Speaker 2: it's just like... But the positive part is that they...
- 11:52Speaker 2: changed their play the second half and they did what
- 11:56Speaker 2: they need to do and be because every time I
- 11:58Speaker 2: looked at the game it was like USA who's USA
- 12:01Speaker 2: it's like oh University of South Alabama I just thought
- 12:04Speaker 2: they'd put South Bama or something South Allah or something
- 12:07Speaker 2: like that but they'd put USA up there.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I liked it you did I honestly though as a
- 12:13Speaker 1: Kentucky fan If I were one, that would have been
- 12:17Speaker 1: really tough for me because I don't want to beat
- 12:18Speaker 1: the USA. It's my country. Are you kidding? I want
- 12:21Speaker 1: to blow them out. It's my country.
- 12:23Speaker 2: No, I'm a UK fan. I want to blow USA out.
- 12:26Speaker 3: No.
- 12:27Speaker 2: They're losers. They're not going to be able to beat UK. No,
- 12:32Speaker 2: I want to beat them to a pulp. By the way,
- 12:34Speaker 2: if you had to put an over-under number on Will Stein...
- 12:38Speaker 2: F-bombs at halftime. What would you set that at? Can
- 12:43Speaker 2: I say the first number that came in my head
- 12:45Speaker 2: was 40. I feel like that's probably a really solid number.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Do you really? Yeah. I would likely take the over. Oh,
- 12:53Speaker 1: you would? Absolutely. You think it's more than 40? I mean,
- 12:56Speaker 1: just look back to his pregame speech against Texas A
- 13:00Speaker 1: & M. Yeah. I mean, it was every other word.
- 13:02Speaker 1: It really was. And now his team's beating South Alabama
- 13:05Speaker 1: by three at halftime.
- 13:06Speaker 2: You know what? You probably are right. I mean, what
- 13:09Speaker 2: are you putting the over under at?
- 13:10Speaker 1: No, I think you were right about where I was thinking. Okay.
- 13:13Speaker 1: About 40-ish.
- 13:14Speaker 2: So if you said 40 and you bet over, so
- 13:17Speaker 2: what are you going to say then as far as
- 13:19Speaker 2: what the real number is?
- 13:20Speaker 1: I would say probably like 47.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Okay, so not much more over the 40.
- 13:24Speaker 1: No.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Man, you were right. That's his– is that his favorite word?
- 13:29Speaker 1: It has to be. It has to be. I love it.
- 13:30Speaker 1: But that's what– so Dr. John and I were talking
- 13:35Speaker 1: about it, and, like, that's a good thing, though, right?
- 13:38Speaker 1: Because when you're looking at your head coach, you don't
- 13:41Speaker 1: want them to be something they're not. You want them
- 13:43Speaker 1: to be exactly who they are, and that seems like
- 13:46Speaker 1: exactly who Will Stein is, and I've got no problem
- 13:49Speaker 1: with that. Yeah. I mean– It's just one of those
- 13:53Speaker 1: words I can't stand. I know it probably is like, oh,
- 13:55Speaker 1: come on, Michael. I don't know.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I've got buddies that use that word all the time.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I mean, when I'm not on air, that's one of
- 14:05Speaker 1: my favorite words. I don't know how you do it.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 14:08Speaker 2: As you know, I'm not much of a cusser. Uh,
- 14:11Speaker 2: but you, you tend to, and I can't imagine if
- 14:15Speaker 2: I was a customer, I think I would be using
- 14:17Speaker 2: all right.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I don't know. It's weird. I can just flip a switch.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Can you really?
- 14:20Speaker 2: I remember years ago when I first started, started doing
- 14:24Speaker 2: this radio show, I think I've mentioned it before. Howard
- 14:27Speaker 2: Schnellenberger came on and every time I turned around, he
- 14:31Speaker 2: was using the poop word.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Shoot.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 2: He was saying shoot with the other way.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:38Speaker 2: And, uh, and you know, the, uh, Shannon kept saying,
- 14:41Speaker 2: did he just say, I'm like, yeah, where's the dump button?
- 14:44Speaker 2: I mean, Howard Schnell and coach Nellenberg kept saying it.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I'm like, oh my gosh, man, you didn't tell him
- 14:50Speaker 2: at any point. Hey, you can't say that.
- 14:51Speaker 1: No, I listen. This is Howard Schnellenberger. I'm not telling
- 14:54Speaker 1: him anything. That's a good point.
- 14:56Speaker 2: He is doing what there are a few people that
- 14:59Speaker 2: came on this show. over time that I would never
- 15:02Speaker 2: dictate how you can or cannot talk. Howard Schnellenberg was
- 15:06Speaker 2: number one. Denny Crum was number two. I would say
- 15:11Speaker 2: Joby Hall, not much of a cusser, but I would
- 15:14Speaker 2: never tell him how to talk on the radio.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Sure.
- 15:17Speaker 2: And of course, all the coaches after that, UK coaches.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I just never would. Now, Players, other guests, yeah, definitely would.
- 15:25Speaker 2: I would dictate, come on, dude, you can't be talking
- 15:28Speaker 2: like that. But I didn't have any issues with anybody else.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Rich Brooks, you think I would look at Rich Brooks
- 15:33Speaker 2: and say, hey, coach, you can't say that. No, I
- 15:35Speaker 2: am never saying anything like that to him. Flames would
- 15:41Speaker 2: be coming out of his eyeballs if I said something
- 15:43Speaker 2: to him, and he would burn right through me.
- 15:45Speaker 1: So, yeah, no. Fair enough. He was the most intimidating
- 15:48Speaker 1: guy I've ever had on the show. Really? Yes, and
- 15:51Speaker 1: I loved it. He really was.
- 15:54Speaker 2: You get him going on one particular topic, and that
- 15:57Speaker 2: would be former losses. He would just burn. You could
- 16:02Speaker 2: tell it's like it happened just 20 minutes ago. That's
- 16:05Speaker 2: how quickly he would get mad. I loved it. Listen,
- 16:10Speaker 2: he was the kind of coach that I would do
- 16:12Speaker 2: anything for.
- 16:13Speaker 1: He really was.
- 16:14Speaker 2: And, uh, if I, if I had a chance to
- 16:17Speaker 2: have him back on, I probably should ask. The problem is,
- 16:21Speaker 2: you know, he lives out in, um, Oregon now. And
- 16:24Speaker 2: he has, uh, for the last, I don't know, 10
- 16:27Speaker 2: or 15 years. I just, uh, the time change. So
- 16:31Speaker 2: we would have to do it. We'll record it unless
- 16:33Speaker 2: he's over here in Kentucky or something like that. Then
- 16:35Speaker 2: we'd be able to do it live. But, uh, yeah,
- 16:37Speaker 2: it's just one of those things.
- 16:38Speaker 1: All right.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Uh, UK is facing South Carolina next. I want to
- 16:42Speaker 2: talk about that when we, uh, Come back from the
- 16:45Speaker 2: break because, as we all know, there's a particular player
- 16:49Speaker 2: that's not going to be at the game. But anyway,
- 16:52Speaker 2: we'll talk about that as soon as we get back.
- 16:53Speaker 2: If you want to give us a call, 502-384-1450.
- 16:57Speaker 3: 502-414-1450.
- 16:57Speaker 2: You want to text on the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 17:01Speaker 2: you tweet me at JustCatRio. That was the other part.
- 17:03Speaker 2: When I was calling you, I kept thinking, okay, is
- 17:07Speaker 2: this the number? As much as I say the number
- 17:10Speaker 2: all the time, as soon as you had to physically
- 17:13Speaker 2: go dial it, I questioned myself.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I get it. I was like, I can't think of
- 17:17Speaker 1: the number. You do? Okay, good.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I thought, okay, this is a moment of dementia right now.
- 17:23Speaker 2: I'm going down that course.
- 17:25Speaker 1: So, anyway. We'll take a break. Stay right there.
- 17:27Speaker 2: A lot more of Just the Cats coming right up.
- 18:25Speaker 1: 502-384-1450.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I'd like to hear this song, but it's just got
- 18:31Speaker 2: one of those long intros.
- 18:32Speaker 1: That's a nice song right there. There was like four
- 18:34Speaker 1: different sounds coming out. Oh, really? Yeah, that was crazy.
- 18:38Speaker 1: That's awesome. Okay. Do you know who that is? I
- 18:42Speaker 1: don't know who that is. Who is it? The Raconteurs.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Is that even how you pronounce it? I don't know.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I've never heard of them. The Raconteurs. I just like
- 18:51Speaker 1: hearing you say that. Say it one more time. The Raconteurs.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Sounds crazy the way you're saying it. I'm sure that's
- 18:59Speaker 1: not how it's pronounced. You know what?
- 19:00Speaker 2: That's the best part. I hope it's not the way
- 19:02Speaker 2: you say it. I kind of like the way you do.
- 19:05Speaker 2: It's kind of like high pinky right there, Justin.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Like in two. Exactly. And the way you say it
- 19:11Speaker 1: is you put your pinky really high. Absolutely, yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Yeah, as you're drinking your high tea. But that just
- 19:16Speaker 2: makes me happy right there.
- 19:17Speaker 1: 502-414-1450.
- 19:18Speaker 2: You want to text on the Whiskey Thief text line.
- 19:22Speaker 2: We'll get to that real quick.
- 19:23Speaker 1: John here.
- 19:24Speaker 2: First off, glad to hear you back, Michael. Also, I
- 19:27Speaker 2: am excited we got Crosstalk back.
- 19:30Speaker 1: No kidding. So you just played me.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I'm sorry, John. I'll get back to your text a bit.
- 19:39Speaker 2: You just played me your show last Thursday. Was it
- 19:42Speaker 2: Thursday or Friday?
- 19:43Speaker 1: It was Thursday. Okay.
- 19:46Speaker 2: And the way we had interacted with each other I
- 19:50Speaker 2: loved it I mean, in real time, you felt bad.
- 19:55Speaker 2: And I love the fact that you admitted you felt
- 19:57Speaker 2: bad on air. But in real time, I'm off the
- 20:01Speaker 2: phone driving my car, dying laughing. And you think my
- 20:05Speaker 2: feelings are hurting. I'm upset. And I just, I like, no,
- 20:09Speaker 2: that's where I feel bad for you. You should never
- 20:11Speaker 2: feel that way. I don't anymore, for what it's worth.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Well, good. I'm glad you don't.
- 20:16Speaker 2: But I hope you get to a point that you
- 20:18Speaker 2: never feel bad and you know that I was just
- 20:21Speaker 2: having fun with it. It's like Caitlin Clark said last week, Michael.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I'm not a robot. I have emotions.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Oh, geez. Yeah. Yeah, except no one's watching. Well, they
- 20:31Speaker 1: probably watch. It's playoffs. People are watching now. You think so? Yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 1: You think they're watching? Mm-hmm. Yeah. Okay.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Well, congratulations. You're watching it, aren't you? I haven't yet,
- 20:43Speaker 2: but I'll probably tune in a little tonight. And that's
- 20:46Speaker 2: the best part about you. You like watching some women's basketball.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I like watching sports in general. Yeah.
- 20:53Speaker 1: No offense.
- 20:54Speaker 2: I won't watch any of it. And that's not because
- 20:57Speaker 2: it's women's. I really don't watch men's. Now I watch
- 21:01Speaker 2: a little bit of the NBA. I have become disinterested
- 21:05Speaker 2: more in NBA basketball.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Just pro basketball in general. Yeah, yeah. I get that.
- 21:11Speaker 2: And now I still very much watch NFL, and I
- 21:15Speaker 2: very much watch. I'm really excited about Major League Baseball,
- 21:18Speaker 2: the playoffs. And you know why I am, because my
- 21:21Speaker 2: team's the best in the AL.
- 21:24Speaker 1: That's not going to end up mattering. It's not. Really,
- 21:27Speaker 1: it's not going to. National League's so tough. Yeah. Whoever
- 21:31Speaker 1: comes out of that is going to be such a
- 21:32Speaker 1: tough out.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Well, the Rays are going to have to play either
- 21:35Speaker 2: the Red Sox or the Yankees, right?
- 21:37Speaker 1: Yeah, correct.
- 21:38Speaker 2: So they're going to lose to that anyway. And I'm like, okay, well,
- 21:40Speaker 2: that was fun. Here we won all AL, number one
- 21:43Speaker 2: team in all AL, and we're going to lose in
- 21:46Speaker 2: the first series.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Do you like that? Do you think? No, I don't
- 21:50Speaker 1: like it. I don't like how they use the bracket
- 21:52Speaker 1: in the MLB playoffs. No, it's terrible. So if the
- 21:56Speaker 1: Rays are the one seed. Yeah. They should get to
- 21:58Speaker 1: play whoever the lowest seed is. The easiest seed.
- 22:01Speaker 2: That's the whole point of working really hard throughout the
- 22:04Speaker 2: season to become the number one team. Now you're penalizing
- 22:07Speaker 2: them being the number one team.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Correct.
- 22:09Speaker 2: So you're encouraging teams to lose games so that they
- 22:13Speaker 2: are not the number one team. I think it's just
- 22:15Speaker 2: whoever came up with that idea is the dumbest idea
- 22:17Speaker 2: in the world.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I agree. Okay, good.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Coach Pope is happy with what we have, but is
- 22:23Speaker 2: still willing to add if the piece is a fit.
- 22:27Speaker 2: I still can't believe our football cats are still the
- 22:30Speaker 2: underdog going into South Carolina. In the words of Rodney Dangerfield,
- 22:35Speaker 2: we get no respect, I tell you. So, and John,
- 22:39Speaker 2: you're absolutely correct. You gave me a whole mouthful right there.
- 22:43Speaker 2: just with those two things let me get through the
- 22:45Speaker 2: text and then we'll talk about those things because you're
- 22:48Speaker 2: absolutely correct I the whole media day yesterday I thought
- 22:54Speaker 2: was kind of odd and I'll I'll explain to you
- 22:57Speaker 2: more why in just a bit but and then I
- 23:00Speaker 2: do not understand UK football ranking at all but we'll
- 23:06Speaker 2: talk about that more too in just a minute uh
- 23:08Speaker 2: buzz texted in um Don't feel bad, Michael. Justin ignores
- 23:13Speaker 2: my calls frequently.
- 23:14Speaker 1: He's probably not wrong. Really? You ignore Buzz's phone calls?
- 23:21Speaker 1: It's never intentional, but a lot of times when I'm
- 23:23Speaker 1: doing Spears, I'm preoccupied with other things. I'm not always
- 23:28Speaker 1: keeping my eye on the phone line. I'm sure there's
- 23:30Speaker 1: been plenty of times where Buzz has called that I
- 23:33Speaker 1: didn't answer. But I always encourage people, if you call
- 23:35Speaker 1: and you don't get an answer... Just call back. Do
- 23:38Speaker 1: like Michael did. Call a million times in a row.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I did not call a million times. Now you are
- 23:43Speaker 2: irritating me.
- 23:46Speaker 1: All right.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Let's start with South Carolina.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Let's see.
- 23:53Speaker 2: You want to start with South Carolina football. You want
- 23:55Speaker 2: to start with UK ranking.
- 23:58Speaker 1: The whole South Carolina game has me more intrigued because
- 24:01Speaker 1: I agree with John. I don't understand football. why they're
- 24:05Speaker 1: the underdog, it doesn't make any bit of sense to me.
- 24:08Speaker 1: You're talking, yeah, UK.
- 24:10Speaker 2: UK's the underdog by three and a half, which isn't
- 24:12Speaker 2: very much, but I don't get it either other than.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I'm betting on them right now. Are you really? You're
- 24:20Speaker 1: betting on UK?
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yeah, because it just doesn't make any sense. See, that
- 24:22Speaker 2: makes me nervous now. They're going to lose. All right,
- 24:25Speaker 2: just because the fact that you're fighting for UK makes
- 24:28Speaker 2: me like, oh, crap, man. Because I'll tell you right now.
- 24:33Speaker 2: UK should win this game, but I feel like they won't.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Does that make sense? I mean, I guess if you
- 24:43Speaker 1: break it down a little further why you think they won't.
- 24:46Speaker 1: All right.
- 24:50Speaker 2: They look good against Youngstown. UK look good in the
- 24:56Speaker 2: first half against Alabama. The second half of Alabama is
- 24:59Speaker 2: what bothers me the most. Yeah, but Alabama's now a
- 25:04Speaker 2: top 10 team.
- 25:05Speaker 1: You are correct. And they just smacked South Carolina. Boy,
- 25:08Speaker 1: did they ever.
- 25:09Speaker 2: But South Carolina's not very good. So is UK good?
- 25:13Speaker 2: So the other question I have, do you believe that
- 25:17Speaker 2: Texas A & M is.
- 25:19Speaker 1: A good team?
- 25:19Speaker 2: Because now they're completely out of the top 25.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I think it's becoming more and more
- 25:27Speaker 1: clear with them that maybe they were a little too
- 25:29Speaker 1: highly ranked to begin the season. Yes.
- 25:31Speaker 2: But I don't think they're a bad team. Because I've
- 25:33Speaker 2: never seen so many. Now, granted, there are always a
- 25:37Speaker 2: lot of people that criticize the rankings. Now you've got
- 25:41Speaker 2: the Miami coach saying, well, we shouldn't have any rankings
- 25:44Speaker 2: until halfway.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Through the season.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Well, the reason you want that is because that helps
- 25:52Speaker 2: you in your easy conference. The reason we don't want
- 25:57Speaker 2: it is because we play difficult games in the SEC,
- 26:00Speaker 2: and as a former coach used to say that is
- 26:04Speaker 2: now with another team just down the street, we play
- 26:07Speaker 2: big boy football. Listen, Miami coach, what's his name, by
- 26:13Speaker 2: the way? Mario Cristobal?
- 26:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Cristobal.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I said, dude, you need to settle down because you're
- 26:19Speaker 2: wrong about this. I would like to see Miami play
- 26:21Speaker 2: an SEC conference schedule. Or a Big Ten, for that fact.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I don't want to just be SEC all the way.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I want to see these ACC teams play either one
- 26:32Speaker 2: of those conferences, a full schedule, and see how they do.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Because I guarantee you, they would be maybe one game
- 26:39Speaker 2: above 500.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 26:42Speaker 2: You look at UofL, and I am going to criticize. Listen,
- 26:47Speaker 2: one of my closest friends is a coach there. And
- 26:50Speaker 2: I really, I've become friends with Jeff Brom. I like
- 26:53Speaker 2: Jeff Brom. I think he's a great coach. But you
- 26:56Speaker 2: can't lose to Wake Forest and expect to be a
- 27:00Speaker 2: playoff team. I mean, what is going on over there?
- 27:04Speaker 2: Every single year, UofL loses to a team they should
- 27:08Speaker 2: never lose to.
- 27:09Speaker 1: It's true.
- 27:12Speaker 2: I think the other problem is I was watching game
- 27:15Speaker 2: day on Saturday.
- 27:16Speaker 1: What? Yeah, I was. It was a mistake. I realized
- 27:21Speaker 1: after five minutes of watching.
- 27:22Speaker 2: But, you know, they started interviewing pregame the UofL quarterback.
- 27:28Speaker 2: And I just got an icky feeling from him. I
- 27:32Speaker 2: just felt like there was so much attitude there. He
- 27:35Speaker 2: was a little too cocky for me.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Okay.
- 27:38Speaker 2: And then to go out there and have a blow-up
- 27:40Speaker 2: game like they did and lose. That told me everything
- 27:43Speaker 2: I needed to know. I just don't think he's that
- 27:45Speaker 2: great a quarterback. I don't think he's that good of
- 27:47Speaker 2: a quarterback. And I feel the same way about Chambliss.
- 27:51Speaker 2: I've said this before. I said it after the U
- 27:53Speaker 2: of L game.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I don't think.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Shambles is a Heisman Trophy quarterback or player.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't either.
- 28:00Speaker 2: And now I think that even more. I mean, good Lord.
- 28:04Speaker 2: John Summerall has it going on the floor. I am now,
- 28:07Speaker 2: forget about South Carolina. I thought Florida would be kind
- 28:11Speaker 2: of a game that UK has a shot at. I'm
- 28:14Speaker 2: even more nervous about Florida. I don't care if it's
- 28:17Speaker 2: in Gainesville or Lexington. Of course, it's going to be
- 28:19Speaker 2: in Lexington at Commonwealth Stadium. But that's a game I'm
- 28:23Speaker 2: even more nervous. I'm going everywhere right now. There are
- 28:26Speaker 2: so many things to talk about after this weekend. I
- 28:28Speaker 2: was sorry I missed yesterday. But I just feel like, man,
- 28:33Speaker 2: John Summerall in just three games has it going on
- 28:39Speaker 2: at Florida. Now, granted, Will Stein after three games. Is
- 28:45Speaker 2: it three games or four games?
- 28:46Speaker 1: Four.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Okay, I'm sorry, four games. Has it going on in Kentucky?
- 28:49Speaker 2: Did you ever dream that UK at this point would
- 28:53Speaker 2: be 3-1, and I think it's the fastest, isn't it,
- 28:57Speaker 2: that UK has ever gotten ranked before when a new
- 28:59Speaker 2: coach came in?
- 29:00Speaker 1: I believe so, yeah. Yeah. I thought they'd be 2-2
- 29:04Speaker 1: at this point. 2-2? Yeah.
- 29:08Speaker 2: So, beating South Alabama and Youngstown State. I'm with you
- 29:10Speaker 2: right there.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:11Speaker 2: And I thought the other two games would be absolute blowouts.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Now, here's what I brought up yesterday with John in
- 29:17Speaker 1: regards to that South Carolina game. Yeah. Remember the whole
- 29:20Speaker 1: quote from John Summerall last week about there's some good
- 29:23Speaker 1: drugs out there? Yeah.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 29:24Speaker 1: When he found out his team was favored? Yes. And
- 29:26Speaker 1: on paper, it didn't make any sense because Ole Miss
- 29:29Speaker 1: had just knocked off LSU. Right. That's my concern with
- 29:33Speaker 1: the South Carolina game. Why?
- 29:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:36Speaker 1: The line is down to two and a half for
- 29:37Speaker 1: what it's worth, but why are they favored? What does
- 29:40Speaker 1: Vegas know that we don't? That game just has me
- 29:43Speaker 1: feeling a lot like I felt with the Florida Ole Miss.
- 29:47Speaker 2: This is desperation for Shane Beamer. He's got to pull
- 29:50Speaker 2: out all the stops because if he loses this game, he.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Loses his job. Yeah, but doesn't he seem like the
- 29:55Speaker 1: type of coach that when he's got pressure like that,
- 29:57Speaker 1: he's going to fold? Really? I don't think he's shown
- 30:00Speaker 1: the ability when he's faced with something like this to
- 30:03Speaker 1: rise up and get past it. I don't know.
- 30:05Speaker 2: And then you got the whole situation with their edge,
- 30:08Speaker 2: Dylan Stewart, who's now– I don't know what's going on
- 30:11Speaker 2: with him because Shane Beamer or the South Carolina football
- 30:16Speaker 2: program said he is– how did they say it? He
- 30:20Speaker 2: is suspended indefinitely.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Well, now they did come out and say yesterday that
- 30:27Speaker 1: the SEC and– South Carolina gave him a one game. Exactly.
- 30:33Speaker 2: So which is it? Is it one game or is
- 30:35Speaker 2: it indefinitely?
- 30:36Speaker 1: One game. Well, it still says that South Carolina says indefinitely. Well,
- 30:41Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure moving forward, it's going to be contentious.
- 30:45Speaker 1: You'll probably hold him out a lot of snaps moving forward.
- 30:48Speaker 1: I don't know what they end up doing, but I
- 30:50Speaker 1: do believe he's only going to not play one game.
- 30:52Speaker 2: You know he is a top 10 draft, potentially a
- 30:55Speaker 2: top 10 draft pick in the NFL. Is he ruining
- 30:58Speaker 2: his draft stock? Maybe a little bit, but I mean,
- 31:03Speaker 2: I don't know. If you play clean football the rest
- 31:05Speaker 2: of the year, just go out there and play. Don't
- 31:07Speaker 2: punch anybody, and you should be drafted where you deserve.
- 31:11Speaker 2: I do want to talk about this for a second
- 31:12Speaker 2: because there's two things that really irritate me. Number one,
- 31:17Speaker 2: why does a football player hit another football player that's
- 31:20Speaker 2: wearing a helmet?
- 31:21Speaker 1: That's really dumb. It really is.
- 31:23Speaker 2: It's like, what do you think you're going to accomplish?
- 31:26Speaker 2: You're only going to hurt yourself more than you're going
- 31:29Speaker 2: to hurt that player. The other part is everybody seems
- 31:33Speaker 2: to be only showing the clip of him hitting the
- 31:37Speaker 2: Alabama player. If you watch the entire clip of what
- 31:42Speaker 2: really transpired, you can see the Alabama players laying on him.
- 31:48Speaker 2: and then slowly getting up and taunting him the entire time.
- 31:54Speaker 2: So to me, not only should, and Dylan Stewart deserves
- 31:58Speaker 2: what he's getting, but I think you need to go
- 32:00Speaker 2: back to SEC and look at what the Alabama player
- 32:03Speaker 2: was doing too, and maybe reconsider, maybe the officials should
- 32:07Speaker 2: have called personal foul on him as well for taunting
- 32:11Speaker 2: i mean granted he didn't hit him yeah.
- 32:12Speaker 1: If all he's doing is talking like you're you're not
- 32:15Speaker 1: gonna ever know what he said.
- 32:16Speaker 2: That's unsportsmanlike though and when you're taunting that's unsportsmanlike but.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Don't you as a 2021 however old steward is shouldn't
- 32:24Speaker 1: you be mature enough at this point to handle your
- 32:26Speaker 1: emotions and not lash out with a full-on punch I mean,
- 32:30Speaker 1: come on, man. We're not 14 anymore.
- 32:33Speaker 2: I get it, but when you're getting beat and you're
- 32:35Speaker 2: all charged up about playing Alabama, then you just got
- 32:38Speaker 2: manhandled by one of their players, and you don't know
- 32:41Speaker 2: what he's saying, Justin. But he might have said some
- 32:44Speaker 2: things that he didn't like, and I can see myself,
- 32:48Speaker 2: my emotions getting the best of me.
- 32:50Speaker 1: I mean, if he's out there talking about my mom
- 32:52Speaker 1: or something, yeah, I'll maybe lash out on him, but
- 32:55Speaker 1: if it's just... football talk, oh, you suck, oh, you're
- 32:58Speaker 1: all getting beat, then, yeah, you got to control your emotions.
- 33:01Speaker 1: You're right.
- 33:02Speaker 2: You are absolutely right because now every player out there
- 33:06Speaker 2: knows that they can get to that guy.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 33:08Speaker 2: That's the mistake right there. So now it's going to
- 33:11Speaker 2: follow him not only the rest of the season in college,
- 33:14Speaker 2: it's going to follow him in the NFL too. So
- 33:16Speaker 2: as soon as he starts having a really good game
- 33:18Speaker 2: in the NFL, guess what? The other team's going to
- 33:20Speaker 2: know exactly what to do. Hey, dude, just talk to him.
- 33:24Speaker 2: You talk to him until he just blows up. And somehow, someway,
- 33:28Speaker 2: he's got to figure a way to keep those emotions inside.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Yep.
- 33:32Speaker 2: And it's really a shame. But I'm just telling you,
- 33:34Speaker 2: watch the whole clip and you see the Alabama. The
- 33:36Speaker 2: Alabama player should have been called for a penalty as well.
- 33:39Speaker 2: But anyway, let's take another break. We'll talk about more
- 33:44Speaker 2: South Carolina. Plus, we're going to talk about basketball. I
- 33:47Speaker 2: promise we're going to talk about basketball. But just let's
- 33:50Speaker 2: talk about the football for a second yet, and we'll
- 33:52Speaker 2: get to the basketball in a minute. But stay right there.
- 33:54Speaker 2: More Just the Cats.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Coming right up. What are you doing? You turned it down.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Just for one part. Oh, sorry about that. Okay. I
- 35:03Speaker 1: had a word that is not radio appropriate. How did
- 35:05Speaker 1: you know that? Because I'm watching the... I always pull
- 35:08Speaker 1: up the lyric videos. Oh, okay. So that way if
- 35:10Speaker 1: a word is coming, I can typically see it coming
- 35:14Speaker 1: and know when to pull it down. Which word was it?
- 35:16Speaker 1: I don't feel like saying. Okay. Just say one letter.
- 35:20Speaker 1: It was the F word, but it wasn't the traditional F.
- 35:23Speaker 1: It wasn't Will Stein's F word. Oh, really? Yeah. Huh. Okay.
- 35:29Speaker 2: I don't know what you're talking about then. So I
- 35:31Speaker 2: have to go back and listen to that song now.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Rhymes with nags. Bag? Just say bag. There you go.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Okay. There you go. All right. That's a canceled word.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Is that right?
- 35:43Speaker 3: It is?
- 35:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. All right then. Very canceled. Too many canceled words.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I mean, people are soft today. There's a reason for
- 35:49Speaker 1: some of them being canceled. Yeah, but people are soft today.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Like the R word. There's no need for the R word.
- 35:55Speaker 1: The R word? Yeah. I don't even know what the
- 35:57Speaker 1: R word is. I'll let you know.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm getting a whole education now. This is killing me.
- 36:03Speaker 2: I won't be able to concentrate this last segment because
- 36:05Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure what the R word is. Anyway,
- 36:07Speaker 2: somebody text me what the R word is, please, so
- 36:09Speaker 2: I can just figure it out. But anyway, so is
- 36:13Speaker 2: one game suspension for Dylan Stewart of South Carolina enough
- 36:17Speaker 2: for what he did for hitting? A lot of people
- 36:19Speaker 2: are going nuts saying it's not even one. One game
- 36:21Speaker 2: is not enough. I'm fine with it.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Are you? I mean, it's football. Emotions get the best
- 36:26Speaker 1: of guys all the time. This is not the first
- 36:28Speaker 1: incident of something like this that we've seen. So, yeah,
- 36:31Speaker 1: I've got no problems.
- 36:32Speaker 2: See, that's the other part that bothers me.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:35Speaker 2: They lost one of their best players. And what's that?
- 36:39Speaker 2: Is the entire team going to rally around and be
- 36:44Speaker 2: able to play better than they usually do and then
- 36:47Speaker 2: be able to beat Kentucky? Listen, all the stuff comes
- 36:50Speaker 2: up because I firmly believe Kentucky is a better team
- 36:55Speaker 2: than South Carolina. But just like I truly believe LSU
- 37:01Speaker 2: is better than Ole Miss. But the team rallied around
- 37:06Speaker 2: to beat their old coach. They weren't wanting to beat LSU.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Ole Miss only wanted to beat Lane Kiffin.
- 37:16Speaker 1: That's true.
- 37:17Speaker 2: And I think that's true. So, anyway, I just– we'll
- 37:21Speaker 2: see what happens. But I thought one of the wildest things,
- 37:24Speaker 2: I don't know if you saw it or not, what
- 37:27Speaker 2: was the coach? Was it Minnesota where the coach– wiped
- 37:32Speaker 2: the blood of one of his players after the game
- 37:35Speaker 2: and then wiped it on his cheeks. Did you talk
- 37:38Speaker 2: about that? I didn't, but that was, Holy cow.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Really, really gross. Okay.
- 37:44Speaker 2: It was gross, but don't you want, if you're a player,
- 37:48Speaker 2: don't you want to coach like that? That was, that
- 37:51Speaker 2: to me was awesome, but it was gross now. And
- 37:55Speaker 2: then he, all the other players come up and shake
- 37:57Speaker 2: his hand. He's got the blood on his hands. It's like, okay, dude,
- 37:59Speaker 2: I'm getting tested now. Yeah, I mean, it's not a
- 38:02Speaker 2: move that I would have made. Let me put it
- 38:04Speaker 2: that way. I thought that is my football coach. Wipes
- 38:10Speaker 2: the blood off the mouth of one of his players
- 38:14Speaker 2: and then wipes it on his cheeks was one of
- 38:17Speaker 2: the most football moments ever. And I guarantee you, that's
- 38:20Speaker 2: going to be a meme that's going to be out
- 38:22Speaker 2: there for a long time, used all the time.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Yeah, without a doubt. So I loved it. I'm sorry
- 38:28Speaker 2: you thought it was just gross.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I mean, it was. It was gross, but come on. Jeez.
- 38:35Speaker 2: One texter said, hey, Michael, a mess at UofL. There
- 38:38Speaker 2: is so much anger towards Jeff Brom and his family.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Great to be a UK fan. Awfully nice of Vince
- 38:45Speaker 2: to send a text in this morning.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 38:48Speaker 2: I can't believe you said that. Is there anger towards
- 38:51Speaker 2: his family, too?
- 38:52Speaker 1: I mean, I think... I don't know if anger towards
- 38:57Speaker 1: the family is the right way to put it, but
- 38:59Speaker 1: I think definitely... Lack of patience with the family.
- 39:04Speaker 2: What do you mean with the family? Oh, you mean
- 39:06Speaker 2: his brother?
- 39:07Speaker 1: I would assume so. Not his wife and kids. Yeah. Okay.
- 39:10Speaker 1: That's the way I took that. I would say just
- 39:12Speaker 1: the guys that are on the coaching staff. Okay. You
- 39:15Speaker 1: know what? And I can understand that.
- 39:17Speaker 2: It is frustrating because, you know, you've been sold a
- 39:20Speaker 2: bill of goods and you're excited about what's going to happen.
- 39:23Speaker 2: You've got a fairly simple schedule. You're not facing the
- 39:28Speaker 2: powers that be in the ACC. Miami unless you're in
- 39:31Speaker 2: the championship game, which it doesn't look like they're going
- 39:33Speaker 2: to be now. You lose to Ole Miss in a
- 39:35Speaker 2: close game. You feel some excitement there. And I don't
- 39:38Speaker 2: blame them to feel some excitement there. And then you
- 39:41Speaker 2: beat SMU, who potentially is one of the top teams
- 39:45Speaker 2: in the ACC, and you lose to Wake Forest. I
- 39:49Speaker 2: do think Wake is better than people are going to
- 39:52Speaker 2: give them credit for.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Really? For what it's worth. By the way, Texter, it's A-E-L. Okay?
- 39:57Speaker 2: So, M-I-C-H-A-E-L. People do that a lot. We'll spell my
- 40:03Speaker 2: name with an E-A-L. But, yeah, just spell it alphabetically.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Mikial. Mikial? Ooh. Mikial. No, that's terrible. Mikial.
- 40:11Speaker 2: No, that's enough. I'm just going to call you Just, okay?
- 40:14Speaker 1: So.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Scoots is just like the popular girl in high school
- 40:18Speaker 2: that didn't want to answer the phone right away because
- 40:20Speaker 2: he's playing hard to get.
- 40:22Speaker 1: That's right. There you go. That's exactly you in a nutshell. Basically.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Playing hard to get.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Kids today don't realize how easy they have it compared
- 40:32Speaker 2: to when we had to go through the parents and make.
- 40:39Speaker 2: I don't think he's saying this right. I just don't
- 40:41Speaker 2: think you're reading it right.
- 40:42Speaker 1: All right. Let me start over.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Kids today don't realize how easy they have it compared
- 40:47Speaker 2: to when we had to go through the parents and
- 40:51Speaker 2: make small talk before getting to talk to the girl
- 40:54Speaker 2: we had a crush on.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Hmm. He's not wrong. Did you go through the parents first? Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I mean, you didn't really have a choice, right? You
- 41:04Speaker 1: had to. call the house phone talk yeah i mean
- 41:06Speaker 1: you had to call the house phone then when you
- 41:08Speaker 1: went and picked her up yeah you oh for when
- 41:11Speaker 1: you first go out yeah mom and dad weren't just
- 41:13Speaker 1: gonna let you sit there and take her no they
- 41:15Speaker 1: had to have a little conversation oh absolutely but now
- 41:19Speaker 1: you can text anybody you want yeah i listen i
- 41:23Speaker 1: am i that was one of my best moves if
- 41:26Speaker 1: you thought i was a great recruiter or could potentially
- 41:29Speaker 1: be one that i would have been a great By
- 41:32Speaker 1: the way, because the couch talk, I was awesome at, okay?
- 41:36Speaker 1: Just to let you know. Make it so you make it.
- 41:40Speaker 2: I don't know if I was necessarily faking it. I
- 41:43Speaker 2: was trying to be as nice as I could. For
- 41:45Speaker 2: the most part, every girl that I went out with,
- 41:47Speaker 2: I liked their mom and dad.
- 41:49Speaker 1: I think the same is true for me, too. It is? Yeah.
- 41:52Speaker 2: I mean, there was probably one dad that he didn't
- 41:57Speaker 2: much care for me, and honestly, I didn't much care
- 41:59Speaker 2: for him.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Honestly, I was at a point in my life at
- 42:03Speaker 1: that age. I mean, the last girlfriend I had was
- 42:05Speaker 1: like 15 years ago, which is crazy to say out loud.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Right.
- 42:08Speaker 1: But I was I was madly in love with her
- 42:10Speaker 1: because her family was so awesome. Oh, really? Like so
- 42:14Speaker 1: I'm at the point where I'm almost looking for the
- 42:16Speaker 1: girl's family. Do I like their family before? And then
- 42:19Speaker 1: I'll figure out if I like the girl. Wow. But yeah, you.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Don't want to marry them because you love their family.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Because the family's going to go away one day, and
- 42:29Speaker 2: you're going to be stuck with her.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean, you're still going to have plenty
- 42:32Speaker 1: of times that you're going to have to be around them,
- 42:33Speaker 1: so you might as well vet them and make sure
- 42:35Speaker 1: it's somebody you like. Okay, fair enough. Texter said, hey, Mikey,
- 42:38Speaker 1: I am sorry. Give it to Mikey. He likes it. Oh,
- 42:43Speaker 1: I know.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Texter, thank you very much. But yeah, I was just
- 42:45Speaker 2: teasing with you, okay? So I hope you're teasing back.
- 42:47Speaker 1: I think you are.
- 42:48Speaker 2: But yeah, Mikey. That's probably the one nickname I don't
- 42:52Speaker 2: like the most.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Well, I don't know.
- 42:53Speaker 2: I probably don't like Mike the most. My mom always
- 42:58Speaker 2: called me Michael, and I like it when people still
- 43:01Speaker 2: call me Michael.
- 43:01Speaker 1: My dad goes by Mikey. Does he really? Yeah, Mikey man. Really? Yeah. Okay.
- 43:07Speaker 2: What did you think of the Texas player peeing on
- 43:09Speaker 2: the field?
- 43:10Speaker 1: Uncalled for. That was pretty. I know. You know what's funny?
- 43:13Speaker 2: They don't want the horns down, but they can get
- 43:16Speaker 2: out there and go urinate on the football field. I
- 43:20Speaker 2: think the funniest one, wasn't it the Ole Miss– Mississippi
- 43:24Speaker 2: State game where the guy was acting like a dog
- 43:27Speaker 2: and he goes over towards the end zone and he
- 43:31Speaker 2: pulls his leg up and goes, I thought that was
- 43:33Speaker 2: one of the funniest things ever. This one, the Texas
- 43:37Speaker 2: player did, I thought it was kind of graphic and gross.
- 43:41Speaker 2: I still laughed at it. My wife looked, that's gross, Michael.
- 43:44Speaker 1: I mean, do we, I haven't had this opinion yet,
- 43:48Speaker 1: but do we think he's really that well endowed? I mean,
- 43:52Speaker 1: he was holding his hand down pretty far. You know? Oh,
- 43:57Speaker 1: my goodness.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Let's move on from that. Thank you very much. But, no, listen,
- 44:02Speaker 2: they got the right call. A lot of people are
- 44:04Speaker 2: saying since the one player, Stewart, hit the Alabama player,
- 44:09Speaker 2: Dylan Stewart, the Texas player should be suspended as well.
- 44:13Speaker 1: No, stop.
- 44:14Speaker 2: It's like, no, we're not getting suspended. But as soon
- 44:17Speaker 2: as the SEC says players, coaches, and fans can't do
- 44:22Speaker 2: the horns down, I'm going to lose it.
- 44:25Speaker 1: I am going to lose it.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Listen, you're allowed to do any. If they're allowed to
- 44:30Speaker 2: do the horns up, you can do the horns down.
- 44:31Speaker 2: It's America for crying out loud.
- 44:33Speaker 1: It is.
- 44:33Speaker 3: It is.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I thought one of the most wholesome things of the
- 44:38Speaker 2: entire weekend. was when Justin Verlander was at the mound
- 44:44Speaker 2: for the last time. That was really cool. And his
- 44:47Speaker 2: daughter came out. It's giving me goose pimples right now.
- 44:50Speaker 2: His daughter came out to take him out for the
- 44:52Speaker 2: last time, and he got emotional.
- 44:54Speaker 1: That was awesome.
- 44:55Speaker 2: And I mean, all right, I've never disliked or liked
- 44:59Speaker 2: Justin Verlander. At that moment, I really liked him. Yeah, because,
- 45:03Speaker 2: I mean, you got to see the family man.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 45:05Speaker 2: And you thought, okay, he must be a really good guy.
- 45:09Speaker 1: And then you go over, then he walks over to
- 45:11Speaker 1: the sideline, you see Kate Upton, and you're like, man,
- 45:13Speaker 1: he's a lucky SOP. Oh, I wasn't thinking that. I was.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Well, okay, it's kind of tacky and gross, but say
- 45:20Speaker 2: whatever you want. I just thought that was a cool
- 45:22Speaker 2: moment for Justin Verlander. He'll never forget, and I guarantee you,
- 45:25Speaker 2: his kids won't forget either. All right, we got hour
- 45:27Speaker 2: two coming right up.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Stay right there. More Just the Cast.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 45:59Speaker 2: All right, now we're number two in Just the Cats.
- 46:02Speaker 1: As you know, Mr.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Personality just shows up just in time to come in
- 46:07Speaker 2: here as I go on the air. But anyway, Justin,
- 46:11Speaker 2: let me get through a couple of these before we
- 46:13Speaker 2: go any further real quick since, you know, we now
- 46:17Speaker 2: just show up when it's time to come on the air.
- 46:19Speaker 2: But anyway, Ken, well, shoot, I'm having a problem. Sometimes
- 46:25Speaker 2: with these texts, I have a problem with bringing up
- 46:26Speaker 2: the one that I need.
- 46:28Speaker 1: You need me to grab it? Hold on.
- 46:30Speaker 2: I might need you to grab that one. If someone
- 46:33Speaker 2: calls me Joshua, this is from Josh. I know I'm
- 46:36Speaker 2: in trouble. I'm either going to jail or dying. Oh,
- 46:39Speaker 2: my gosh.
- 46:40Speaker 1: That's graphic.
- 46:42Speaker 2: That really is. I mean, why would you be going
- 46:44Speaker 2: to jail if they called you Joshua?
- 46:46Speaker 1: Because that's his legal name.
- 46:48Speaker 2: So that's how they would name it. Cops would call
- 46:50Speaker 2: him John. Okay. One person said, Scoots, what are you
- 46:54Speaker 2: talking about? You don't test the water temperature in the
- 46:57Speaker 2: urinal when you have to go?
- 46:59Speaker 1: Hmm. Interesting. Wait, what? Oh, I see. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, good.
- 47:06Speaker 2: I hope you do because I'm not going to go
- 47:08Speaker 2: back there and read that again. But one person said,
- 47:12Speaker 2: can Louisville fans be mad at Brahms? Isn't he kind
- 47:16Speaker 2: of what he's always been?
- 47:19Speaker 1: Yeah, basically.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Well, I mean, did he have more success at Purdue
- 47:25Speaker 2: than he's had at UofL? Let's talk about that for
- 47:30Speaker 2: a second, because if you look at Purdue, they're in
- 47:32Speaker 2: the Big Ten. If you look at UofL, they're in
- 47:35Speaker 2: the ACC. A lot easier than the Big Ten.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Sure.
- 47:39Speaker 2: So the question I pose to you, Justin, was Jeff
- 47:43Speaker 2: Braun more successful at Purdue than he's been at UofL?
- 47:50Speaker 1: I would say no. Really? Because they didn't do anything
- 47:54Speaker 1: at Purdue. Yeah, he went to bowl games, but he's
- 47:56Speaker 1: done the same at Louisville.
- 47:58Speaker 2: Yeah, but you think he would have more success at
- 48:01Speaker 2: UofL than he would have at Purdue. And how many
- 48:05Speaker 2: times has he been to the ACC championship?
- 48:09Speaker 1: Don't know. Yeah, I don't either. For some reason, I
- 48:12Speaker 1: don't think he's been to any. I don't think he
- 48:14Speaker 1: got to a Big Ten champion, too. No, he didn't.
- 48:16Speaker 2: But, again, he was playing a much tougher schedule within
- 48:20Speaker 2: the conference, and he was succeeding and winning up there. So,
- 48:24Speaker 2: to me, I think he's had more success at Purdue
- 48:28Speaker 2: than he has had at UofL.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Gotcha. For that reason alone. Yeah, I mean, I don't
- 48:33Speaker 1: know either way. Okay. All right, then.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Well, I thought you would because, you know, you're the
- 48:38Speaker 2: epitome of Big Ten success. fandom and media epitome yes
- 48:42Speaker 2: absolutely epitome yes one person texted in do you think
- 48:47Speaker 2: jeff braum should allow brian to run the offense and
- 48:51Speaker 2: should uh just be the head coach stein turned his
- 48:56Speaker 2: offense over so he could focus on being head coach.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Yes Answer is yes. I would say so too.
- 49:08Speaker 2: If you're hiring an offensive coordinator to be the offensive coordinator,
- 49:12Speaker 2: you hand everything over to them. I've never liked those
- 49:14Speaker 2: coaches that still coach the offense or defense either way.
- 49:19Speaker 2: So it should be handed over to them. But anyway, listen,
- 49:23Speaker 2: I'm not a UofL fan, so it just doesn't make
- 49:24Speaker 2: any difference to me. But you know what it does
- 49:26Speaker 2: mean to me on Tuesday? He never answered, but okay.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Thanks, Justin. I thought that was my answer. Okay, that's
- 49:37Speaker 1: your answer right there. Okay. Corey Price is here with us. Mr.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Big Time, he just shows up as it's time to
- 49:45Speaker 2: go on air. No longer does he get in here
- 49:47Speaker 2: early to prepare himself or anything like that. It's like, yeah,
- 49:51Speaker 2: I show up with you because the talent is now here.
- 49:54Speaker 2: The talent is now ready to speak. Michael, this is
- 49:56Speaker 2: Corey P.
- 49:57Speaker 1: From TV. He can do whatever he wants. Oh, that's it.
- 49:59Speaker 1: That's right. Corey P. from TV. That should be your
- 50:03Speaker 1: new Twitter account. I love it. His mic doesn't even
- 50:07Speaker 1: work now. There you go.
- 50:09Speaker 3: Hello.
- 50:11Speaker 4: You know, I'm working. Sometimes there's traffic. I try my best.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Sounds like a bunch of excuses. Exactly. I'm with you, Justin.
- 50:21Speaker 2: It just sounds like, you know, Corey P from TV
- 50:24Speaker 2: is just showing up when the talent is going to
- 50:26Speaker 2: show up. I mean, might as well just call him
- 50:28Speaker 2: the talent.
- 50:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:30Speaker 1: It's no longer Corey P. It's just the talent. I agree.
- 50:33Speaker 1: I mean, Corey P is nice. I checked.
- 50:35Speaker 4: Jeff Braun made the conference title game his first year
- 50:39Speaker 4: at Louisville.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 50:40Speaker 1: And has it made it since? Correct. Yeah. That's. That
- 50:43Speaker 1: makes it tough.
- 50:44Speaker 2: I mean, would you rather make it as a coach
- 50:46Speaker 2: the first year or make it down the road? And
- 50:50Speaker 2: to me, it's like, I'd rather make it down the road.
- 50:52Speaker 1: I guess you could ask Tubby that question. See, I
- 50:56Speaker 1: think that's a fair question as well.
- 50:58Speaker 2: I think Tubby would have lasted longer if he would
- 51:02Speaker 2: have won his title later in his career at UK.
- 51:07Speaker 2: He was there for 10 seasons.
- 51:10Speaker 1: I know. You're right. You're right. This week is September 27th.
- 51:15Speaker 1: But wouldn't you rather finish your career as a champion
- 51:18Speaker 1: than your first year as a champion? I would.
- 51:22Speaker 2: That's how I would like to end my career.
- 51:25Speaker 4: As long as I get a title, I don't really
- 51:26Speaker 4: care if it's first year or last year, honestly.
- 51:28Speaker 1: Okay, fair enough. All right, tell me what date it is.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Title's a title. Well, today's date is September 29th. Look,
- 51:33Speaker 1: he doesn't even know it's the 29th. But this week
- 51:37Speaker 1: we're doing September 27th through October 3rd. Starting off September 27th, 1969.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Nice.
- 51:43Speaker 1: U.K.
- 51:43Speaker 4: Football defeats No. 8 Ole Miss 10-9 at Stouffield. This
- 51:47Speaker 4: is U.K. 's first win against a ranked Ole Miss
- 51:50Speaker 4: team since 1964.
- 51:52Speaker 1: What year was that?
- 51:53Speaker 3: 1969?
- 51:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Nice. Yeah, I was there. Oh, you were? I
- 52:00Speaker 1: was there. Yeah. Okay. I'll take your word for it. U.K.
- 52:05Speaker 4: 's game-winning score came on a six-yard touchdown run by
- 52:07Speaker 4: Bernie Scruggs in the third quarter. And Ole Miss' only
- 52:11Speaker 4: touchdown came on a 64-yard touchdown run by Archie Manning
- 52:14Speaker 4: in the second quarter.
- 52:15Speaker 1: How about that? Yeah.
- 52:18Speaker 4: September 27, 2002, the rom-com Sweet Home Alabama is released
- 52:23Speaker 4: in theaters. Are you not a big rom-com guy?
- 52:27Speaker 2: I'm not a fan of the person that starred in
- 52:30Speaker 2: that show.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Reese? Oh, I can't stand her. What? Oh, yeah. Loathe.
- 52:34Speaker 1: That's a hot take. Loathe. Not a fan. She's from Tennessee.
- 52:40Speaker 1: Come on. So is your family.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Oh, now you're bringing my family into it. If you
- 52:46Speaker 2: had the helmet on, I'd hit you.
- 52:48Speaker 4: Directed by Andy Tennant. It starred Candice Bergen, Patrick Dempsey,
- 52:55Speaker 4: Ethan Embry, Josh Lucas, Mary Kay Place, Jean Smart, Fred Ward,
- 53:01Speaker 4: and as you mentioned, your favorite actress, Reese Witherspoon. The
- 53:05Speaker 4: film grossed approximately $ 127.
- 53:06Speaker 1: 2 million domestically.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Making it the 19th highest-corrected film of 2002. And the
- 53:14Speaker 4: film was nominated for 14 Choice Awards.
- 53:17Speaker 1: That should tell you everything right there.
- 53:19Speaker 4: It won two, Choice Movie Comedy and Choice Movie Lip Lock.
- 53:24Speaker 3: What?
- 53:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:25Speaker 4: We call it Choice Movie Lip Lock, which is awesome.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 53:31Speaker 4: This is pretty fun, I think. September 28, 2001, the
- 53:33Speaker 4: comedy film Zoolander is released in theaters.
- 53:37Speaker 1: That's a good one. Yeah, great one. I like Zoolander.

- 53:47Speaker 4: Directed by Ben Stiller. It stars Will Ferrell, Mila Jovovich,
- 53:53Speaker 4: Ben Stiller, Jerry Stiller, Christine Taylor, John Voight, and Owen Wilson.
- 53:58Speaker 4: The film grossed approximately $ 45. 2 million domestically.
- 54:02Speaker 1: That's all?
- 54:03Speaker 3: Yep.
- 54:03Speaker 2: Wow.
- 54:03Speaker 4: Making it the 55th highest correction film of 2001. And
- 54:06Speaker 4: here's a little tribute from the film.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Okay.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Owen Wilson wore a wig for the entire movie.
- 54:11Speaker 1: Really? I had no idea.
- 54:14Speaker 4: He was filming behind enemy lines at the same time.
- 54:18Speaker 2: Oh. Had to keep his hair short for that role.
- 54:21Speaker 2: I had a friend in that movie behind enemy lines.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Really?
- 54:24Speaker 2: Yeah, David Keith. I talked to him this weekend. Do
- 54:27Speaker 2: you know who David Keith is?
- 54:29Speaker 1: Mr. and Mrs. Keith's boy. Exactly. Well done, Corey. Thank you.
- 54:34Speaker 1: September 28th, 2024. U.K.
- 54:36Speaker 4: Football defeats No. 6 Ole Miss 20-17 in Oxford. This
- 54:41Speaker 4: is the first time the U.K. defeated an AP poll
- 54:43Speaker 4: top 10 SEC opponent on the road since 1964 at No.
- 54:47Speaker 1: 1 Ole Miss. U.K.
- 54:50Speaker 4: 's game-winning score came on a two-yard fumble recovery by
- 54:54Speaker 4: Josh Kattis with 225 left in the fourth quarter. And
- 54:58Speaker 4: Dane Key led the Wildcats on offense with eight receptions
- 55:02Speaker 4: for 105 yards and one touchdown.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 55:05Speaker 4: I think Scooch will like this one. September 29th, 2000.
- 55:08Speaker 4: The sports film Remember the Titans is released.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Actually, Corey, I'm going to have a take here. You
- 55:15Speaker 1: are not going to like.
- 55:16Speaker 4: Oh.
- 55:16Speaker 1: You ready? Yep. I think that is the most overrated
- 55:19Speaker 1: sports movie of all time. Of all time. All time.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Michael does as well. Because that was....
- 55:30Speaker 4: That was a, why are we talking about this reaction
- 55:33Speaker 4: right there?
- 55:33Speaker 1: That's not true. I liked it.
- 55:37Speaker 2: I mean, I saw it once and that was enough.
- 55:39Speaker 2: It was just, it was good.
- 55:41Speaker 1: I liked Denzel Washington. Okay. That's it. I mean, that's it.
- 55:46Speaker 1: I liked Denzel Washington.
- 55:48Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know. I mean, what else do
- 55:49Speaker 2: you want me to say about that? Did you like it?
- 55:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Did you see it more than once? Maybe. Yeah. Twice.
- 55:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Directed by Boaz....
- 56:01Speaker 4: Stars Donald Faison, Ryan Gosling, Wood Harris, Ryan Hurst, Hayden Panettiere,
- 56:09Speaker 4: Will Patton, and, of course, Denzel Washington.
- 56:11Speaker 1: That was one of her first movies, wasn't it? I
- 56:14Speaker 1: think so, yeah. Rest in peace. Really sad. Yep.
- 56:18Speaker 4: The film grossed approximately $ 115. 7 million domestically, making it the
- 56:23Speaker 4: 14th highest-correction film in 2000. And Denzel Washington won the
- 56:28Speaker 4: BET Award for Best Actor.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Really? Yep.
- 56:32Speaker 4: September 29th, 2007, UK football defeats Florida Atlantic 45-17 at
- 56:37Speaker 4: Commonwealth Stadium. This was the UK's fifth consecutive game scoring
- 56:42Speaker 4: at least 40 points, which is the longest such streak
- 56:45Speaker 4: in school history. Andre Whitson's then-FBS record for most consecutive
- 56:51Speaker 4: passing attempts without an interception ended at 325. And Raphael
- 56:58Speaker 4: Little led the Wildcats on offense with 136 yards from scrimmage,
- 57:00Speaker 4: 112 rushing, and 24 receiving. I think Michael will like
- 57:06Speaker 4: this one.
- 57:07Speaker 2: Oh, I like that one. Raphael Little I loved. I mean,
- 57:10Speaker 2: he was so much fun to watch. Dual threat with
- 57:12Speaker 2: the receiving. Absolutely.
- 57:15Speaker 4: September 30, 1983, the comedy-drama film The Big Chill is
- 57:19Speaker 4: released at theaters.
- 57:20Speaker 1: You're a big chill guy? Hated it. Oh. Yeah, sorry.
- 57:23Speaker 1: I never saw that.
- 57:24Speaker 2: Yeah, terrible. I liked the cast. I just didn't like
- 57:28Speaker 2: the movie. I had a professor.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Go ahead. The soundtrack's pretty good.
- 57:31Speaker 2: The soundtrack was fantastic, but I had a professor at
- 57:34Speaker 2: UK that loved, he clearly loved this movie, and we
- 57:38Speaker 2: had to do a paper on The Big Chill.
- 57:40Speaker 1: It's like, really, man? It's a dumb movie. So that's
- 57:42Speaker 1: probably why I disliked it even more. He made The

- 57:56Speaker 1: He is not.
- 57:56Speaker 3: I know.
- 57:57Speaker 4: Directed by Lawrence Kasdan. Not even spelled the same way.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Didn't he coach in St. X now?

- 58:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 58:28Speaker 3: Anyways.
- 58:28Speaker 1: I love Jeff Goldblum. Whatever his name is. Goldblum. What
- 58:32Speaker 1: is his name? Yeah. Jeff Goldblum. Yeah. It's hard to
- 58:36Speaker 1: say that. I know. You know who I'm talking about.
- 58:39Speaker 4: The film grossed approximately $ 56. 4 million domestically.
- 58:41Speaker 1: 55 too many.
- 58:42Speaker 4: 13th highest grossing film of 1983.

- 59:12Speaker 4: UK won despite only completing nine passes for 69 yards
- 59:15Speaker 4: nice and Ray Davis led the Wildcats on offense with
- 59:21Speaker 4: 289 yards good gosh.
- 59:23Speaker 1: I forgot about that.
- 59:24Speaker 4: 280 rushing which is the third most yeah in school
- 59:27Speaker 4: history nine nine receiving And tied the school.
- 59:30Speaker 1: Record with four touchdowns. Wow. What a game. The Ray
- 59:34Speaker 1: Davis game. Yeah, completely.
- 59:37Speaker 4: October 1st, 1977, U.K. football defeats No. 4 Penn State
- 59:42Speaker 4: 24-20 in Happy Valley. This is the third time the U.K.

- 59:50Speaker 4: The first time was 1964 at No.
- 59:51Speaker 1: 1 Ole Miss.
- 59:51Speaker 4: Stop!
- 59:51Speaker 1: Stop! Nobody knows what you're talking about. Well, they do
- 59:59Speaker 1: if they're watching YouTube. That's right. But, yeah.

- 1:00:11Speaker 4: UK had a turnover margin of plus four. And UK's
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: game-winning score came on a one-yard touchdown run by Derek
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: Ramsey in the third quarter, trailing to nothing in the
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: first quarter.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: October 1st, 2010, the drama film The Social Network is

- 1:00:33Speaker 1: a sequel coming out about it.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Did it make you stop doing Social Network for a while?
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: No. It did my kids. Oh. Really? Yeah, it did completely.
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: I think it's called The Social Reckoning. I think it's
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: the sequel that's coming out.

- 1:01:02Speaker 1: Hold on. Somebody is named Armie Hammer? Armie Hammer, yes.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: That's a terrible name. It's not Armand, but it's Armand.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: I know, but that's what you're going to name the kid.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: It has to be Armand Hammer.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: But the kid's clean. Oh, my gosh, man.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: What a horrible name, by the way. Why would you
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: name your kid Armie? I mean, at that point, you've
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: got to name one Navy.

- 1:01:40Speaker 4: of the 100 best movies of the 21st century. I
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: think Scoots will like this one. October 2, 1992, the
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: sports film The Mighty Ducks is released in theaters.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good one.

- 1:04:49Speaker 4: That's pretty sad.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: So y'all were big Say by the Bell fans.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: I loved it.
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: Did you really? I probably watched every episode 10 times.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Same. Are you kidding me? That's what I would watch
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: before school every morning. I mean, it was on all
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: the time. Well, that's true.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: That part is fair right there. Who is your favorite
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: character in that show?
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: I mean, Kelly Clarkson. See, everybody else can have Kelly.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: I was at least a turtle guy. Which one is that?
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: The black one. Oh, shocking.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Okay, well, that tells you everything we need to know
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: about Justin. I don't either, but I just wanted to
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: say it.
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: I don't discriminate.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: No, none of us do. But, I mean, yeah, with women, no.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: You don't. I like them all. Yeah, you do. The
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: bigger backside, the better, too. If they're taller than you,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: you're even happier. Absolutely. I mean, it didn't take much
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: to be taller than Scoots. That's a good point. Oh,
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: my God. Hold on, Corey. Man, see? See? Listen, Corey P.,
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: I'm telling you. You ain't wrong. He's on TV. Anyway,
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: but I do.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Listen, who's the other girl with the long curly hair?
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: She was in that movie about Las Vegas.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Showgirls. Showgirls. Showgirls. You can admit it. Showgirls. You watched it. Oh,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: everybody watched it. Are you kidding? We all watched it.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Was her name Tori Spelling? No. No, it's not Tori Spelling. No, no, no.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: That's Beverly Hills. Elizabeth Berkley. That's it. Elizabeth Berkley. Apparently,
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: her career went downhill after that. Did it really? Yeah,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: because I don't guess... Hollywood, like, enjoyed that side of her. So, yeah,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: she really struggled to get gigs after that. Oh, that's
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: too bad. Now, I mean, she's picked up since. I
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: think her career has kind of resurrected ever since. But, yeah,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: after that. Interesting. She had many years where nobody would
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: work with her. Oh, wow. I had no idea.
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: I'm trying to think what her name was on the show.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: Jessie. Jessie, that's it. Oh, really? See, I would have
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: never guessed that. Spain Howard. Spain Howard? Yeah.
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: And, of course, the Hispanic guy, he's had a long career.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: Mario Lopez. Mario Lopez, yeah, because he's on what? Whatever
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: happened to Zack, did he? Anything ever happen to him?
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: He's been in a couple of shows on TV.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Has he? Yeah, not very good ones.
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: Mark Paul, Gus Allaire.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: You know these people's names? I watched the show 7,000 times.
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: 462 times okay well that's a quite the number i'm
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: sorry i'm surprised you didn't say 69 times that's true uh.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Josh texted in y'all complain about cory p from tv
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: you can't complain about a free service laugh out.
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: Loud well i mean josh thank you for that but
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: uh you know i do have a paying job and
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: i try to time it to where i can get
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: here on time but yeah sometimes you know a light
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: here light there and That's okay.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: I'm just teasing you. You know I'm teasing you, but
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: I'm not. Michael is just a giant tease. Ooh, that
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: doesn't sound like a real compliment right there. How's your
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: girlfriend in E-Town, by the way?
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: Just wanting to know. People have been asking, texting in.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: Wanting to know.
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: Literally no one's been asking, I guarantee you.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: You haven't been down I-65 South, huh? It's so sad.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: Not since yesterday.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Oh, he was down there yesterday, Justin.
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: No, not since yesterday. I'm saying it was rough because
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: of the shooting.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. That was horrible. Did they ever find the guy?
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: In Louisville. Here in Louisville. Yesterday.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Yeah. That was, if you haven't heard, that was a
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: state trooper that got killed by this gentleman yesterday. Really sad.
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: But no, no girlfriend to speak of, Michael Bennett.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: Yeah, so the E-Town trip is no longer, huh?
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: That's so sad.
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: I mean, I might go down there, but not with
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: a girlfriend.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: I mean, you're going to do this so long. You're
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: going to have him start to believe that he actually
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: had a girlfriend. Exactly. Exactly.
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: That's what he should say. Because once you say you
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: had a girlfriend, then other girls want to go out
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: with you. Once you say Corey P from TV has
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: a girlfriend, now everybody's going to flock to you and say,
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: I want.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: To be with you. There you go, Corey. Free dating advice.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: That's how it works. Take it or leave it.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: Well, that's what it's worth right there. I can tell
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: you that.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: It's free.
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: I think that probably works 0% of the time.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: All right, what's going to happen this weekend? South Carolina's
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: UK heads down to Columbia.
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: I cannot believe they are an underdog.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Blackie, right? blows my mind.
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: On paper, the best player in defense is not playing.
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: That helps. I think Shane Beamer is, I mean, he's desperate,
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: which is a little concerning because you don't know how
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: they'll play, knowing that their coach might be gone soon.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: But I think just talent-wise, I think we're just better.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: So do I. That's how I feel.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: But I'm nervous that, okay, as soon as I say that,
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: as soon as I get a little confidence, you saw
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: what happened to UofL last weekend. And I think the
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: same thing for UK. Could definitely happen.
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: I mean, this Beamer stuff makes me think of Bill
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: Curry in 96.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: We fire him, and then we win three games.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: Three in a row.
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: Three in a row. So, I mean, like I said,
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: I'm a little worried about how desperate they'll play. But
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: if our O-line plays half as good as it did
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: on Saturday, I don't see us losing.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: But you just can't let the quarterback scramble like the
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: South Alabama quarterback did. I mean, you just got to
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: figure a way to contain him.
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: He's given us fits the last two years for sure.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: No doubt.
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: But I think we've had some running QBs two or
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: three times this year. And I don't think any of
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: them is really.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: Well, Texas A & M was supposed to have a
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: dual threat. He was a no threat.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: I'm.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Pretty confident.
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: I know they've had her number the last four or
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: five years, but I'm pretty confident.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: I think now with the change and Mark Stoops no
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: longer here, now we've got Will Stein, I think we
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: go four or five years in a row.
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: Well, I mean, we did win a bunch with Stoops
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: against Sakana and Missouri.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: And here's what.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: I would do if I was Will Stein once UK
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: beat South Carolina down Columbia next week. You bring out
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: the sunglasses, okay? That's what he should do. And just
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: give it right back to Shane Beamer.
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: I hope Beamer gets fired, honestly. Wow, that's terrible. Although,
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: I don't know. I want him to stay so the
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: program suffers.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: So we can beat him. I don't know. That's a
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: tough call.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: I don't know. Corey Price, cheering for people to lose
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: their jobs. Exactly.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: I don't ever want anybody to lose their job.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: That's fair. Yeah, yeah. Well, maybe there's one person. But no, no.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: It's not anybody. No, of course not. Scoots? No.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: No, nobody that's in my present area right now.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: Come on now. I love you guys. Anyway, all right. Corey,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: always fun having you here. I'll be here next Tuesday, okay?
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: So don't worry about it. I won't worry now. I
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: was going to worry. No, you shouldn't. I don't believe
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: that you were going to worry. Oh, I was. Yeah.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: It's different when you're not here, you know? Yeah. Same
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: with Scoots. Yeah, it is. I agree with that.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: Somebody complained to me last week. Michael, you're taking off again.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: We get used to listening to you, and then you're gone.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: And truthfully, I know he was kind of complaining, but
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: I took it as a compliment. It is different when
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: one of us is gone.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: So, anyway. I agree. I like the dynamic. All right.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: We'll see you next Tuesday, Corey. I'll be here. That's
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Corey P. from TV right there. We're going to introduce
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: you that way from now on. We're going to take
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: a break right now. Stay right there. We've got more.
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: We're going to talk about Mark Pope and Media Day yesterday.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Stay right there.
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: You're stuck You're gonna get my love Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: yeah So much going on these days Forget about instinct 502-384-1450.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: You want to call 502-414-1450. You want to text in
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: on the Whiskey Thief text line or you can tweet
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: me at JustCatRadio.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Am I right?
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: John Wong told me that Trevor called him Dr.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Hung. Yes, he did.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: You've got to be kidding me.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: He did. Did he not know how to say his
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: last name? I would assume not. Dr. Hung.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: Okay, I mean, we've gone from that you asking about
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: the Texas player, size mattered, but John Wong, John Hung.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: But, okay, there you go. I didn't hear that one live.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: I wish I would have.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: Oh, I got to go back and listen to it
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: live now to hear him call him. It's just an
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: hour show on Friday.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: Is that right? Yeah. Yeah, it's like the last probably
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: 40 minutes of Friday. Okay, yeah, I got to go
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: hear him call him Dr. Hung.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: Did he correct him is the other part I.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Want to know. That's a great question.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: All right, so this is weird. I'm just going to
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: tell you right now. So yesterday was UK Basketball Media
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: Day with Mark Pope. You know, they only sent out
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: the invite last week, which before you knew weeks ahead
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: of time when they were going to have the media day.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: It was especially when Cal was here. You knew exactly
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: what was going to happen. It was big production. Everything's
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: going to be planned out. We're going to have all
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: the media members there.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: You couldn't.
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: You had to get there early enough to get a
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: good seat. I remember the day when the guy over
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: in Lexington, he was sitting right next to me. Cal,
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: this is media day, not coaches day. What was that
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: guy's name? That was the writer over in Lexington for
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: the Herald that did that. Do you remember his name?
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: John something or yeah, I don't remember what his name was,
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: but I am sitting there and he is saying that,
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: I mean, you should have seen Cal's face. He didn't
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: know how to respond at first. because this was media day,
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: not coaches day. And he's a, he's supposed to answer
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: whatever questions they want to have. And he's like, okay,
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: what question would you like to have? I mean, it was,
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: I wanted to crawl under the chair and, uh, oh
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: my gosh, that was, that was just terrible. But, uh, anyway,
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: I just, this, I don't know what's going on with
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: Mark Pope and you know, you got, uh, um, um,
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: Big Blue Madness happened this Friday. Just the excitement. It's
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: almost like he wants to hide the excitement. Am I
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: making sense at all? It doesn't make any sense to me.
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: I can tell you that.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: I mean, it does make sense to me because the
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: last two years you didn't hide the excitement. No. And
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: look how disappointed the fan base was at the end
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: of those years. Thank you.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: The texter said Jerry Tipton. That's who it was. Yeah,
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: Jerry Tipton asked that question.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're a little bit more reserved going into
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: this year and don't let fans– get all crazy excited,
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: then they won't be as let down if it doesn't
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: work out.
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: Oh, see, that's what I wonder is he not, does
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: he not want the excitement about this team? And I
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: kind of feel like Mark Pope does not want excitement.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: He's worried about injury. Cause you know, the other part,
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: he is not going to have the annual blue white game.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: He's going to have an open practice. And I just,
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: I mean, you know, you kind of did a nice
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: job with the media madness, even though, you know, yours
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: truly was left out. They said they sent me an email.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: I've gone back and searched for it. I have no email.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: And the guy's like, well, we sent it to you, Michael.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: I was like, okay. By the way, it's Mr.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Bennett.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: But no, I don't know what's going on over there.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: And I'm getting to a point where it's like, okay.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: I'm worried about this. I'm worried that he does not
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: want the excitement. I mean, the big take from yesterday
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: is he said the biggest strength that UK has will
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: be their length. The last two years, it's been about shooting.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: Now it's about defense. Mark Pope believes this team can
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: be an elite defensive team.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Is that exciting? I don't know. You tell me, Justin.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: How do you– I've described a little bit about media
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: day yesterday and the uneventful day that it was for
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: Mark Pope, third year of media day, and it just
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: seems like a real– let's put it under the carpet
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: and move on. Let's start the season and we'll see
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: how it goes. I mean, if it results in wins,
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: it'll be exciting. Yeah, because unlike football where things have
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: gotten a little stale and slow moving with the under
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Mark Stoops, now you've got the complete opposite with Will Stein.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: Yeah. fast tempo, up pace. But Mark Pope, his first
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: two years, what he was doing obviously hasn't worked. So
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: you've got to change something. If you want to have
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: more of an emphasis on the defensive side of the ball,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: I don't necessarily hate that. You're just not going to
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: get those 111 to 103 games anymore, which if it's,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: like I said, if it's resulting in a win, I
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: think that's, that's going to keep the fan base pretty happy.
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: Well, he's just, he said he's putting the blue white
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: game on hiatus. So he's not giving up on it altogether,
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: but you know, that's the game where, uh, Jalen low
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: hurt his shoulder.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: So you wonder, is that the reason why he doesn't
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: want to have injury? Well, you're going to have injury anywhere.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: Don't blame just the blue white game. You're going to
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: have injury in a practice.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, we've seen that already. Exactly.
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: So why give that up? So now they're going to
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: have an open practice, October 8th, October 9th. And I
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: just like, I don't get this. I really don't. And
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: to me, if you're coming into year three. To me,
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: you need to build even more excitement. Don't sit here
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: and just like we got this. We got media.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Next week we got to do media day. Oh, yeah.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: We got Big Blue Madness that next Friday.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: We got this. Oh, by the way, we have a
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: great defensive team. That's not building excitement. And to me,
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: he needs to build even more excitement.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but why? Because that's, like I said, that's just
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: going to let people down. If you're trying to build
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: this team up like he's done the past two years,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Trent Noah, 70% from three, blah, blah, blah, all the
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: crazy things he said in the offseason. It hasn't panned out.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: None of that stuff came to fruition. I guess because everybody...
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: To me... Well, I shouldn't say everybody. There's a number
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: of people in the fan base that are really down
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: on Mark Pope right now. Sure. And to me.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: You can't hide from it. You've got to get out
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: there and build what you've built. Hold on. You've got
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: the team now. Now let's build it up for the
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: fan base.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Go ahead. To me, that's not his responsibility. Oh, I
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: think it is wholeheartedly. The best part about being a fan,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: and everyone fans differently. I understand that. But the best
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: part about being a fan is when you get eyes
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: on your team for the first time and you can
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: make your own assessment. that's one part I hate about
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: media and their relationship with fans is the fact that
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: A lot of times, media will put something out, and
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: fans will have this preconceived notion about the team going
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: into the season, where in reality, we should, as fans,
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: sit back, get eyes on our team, and make our
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: own opinion. We shouldn't have to be told what to
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: think about this team, and then everybody latches onto that.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Make your own decision.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: The part of being a leader, a true coach, is
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: to lead how you feel about this team. And so
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: I think he should be a bit of a cheerleader
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: out there. Yeah, but again, in the past two years,
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: it hasn't worked out. Yeah, you're right. You're exactly correct.
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: But one of these years, it's got to hit. And
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: he has to continue being that way. Just because the
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: first two years didn't make out and didn't pan out
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: doesn't mean you automatically quit being that person. You got
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: to be that person every single year. Be that consistency.
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: Because it's going to come out with the fan base,
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: and it's going to come out with the... uh, the, the,
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: the players. And now that the fan base is going
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: to be like, well, I don't know what to expect.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: Maybe I don't really go to games. Maybe I don't
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: really cheer. And then guess what? The team is going
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: to feel that from the fan base and they're going
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: to just play out the way the fans feel like
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: about that team. Anyway, that's what concerns me.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: Yeah. I just don't think, I don't know. I think
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: it's okay to switch up who you are. Like if you're,
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: if you're playing roulette and there's been seven blacks and
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: you're betting on red every time, cause you know, the
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: streak's going to be broken and, Eventually, it will be broken.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: So keep betting red. And that's what Mark Pope's kind
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: of doing. I just feel like now you keep that
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: positive vibe. You be positive all the time. Yes, there
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: is going to be. And it can be cyclical. I
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: don't think he's being negative, though. He's just not being
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: over the top like he has been in past years.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: You're right.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: He's not being negative. But I mean, to me, it's
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: coming across as potentially negative.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: I didn't like it.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: The fact that he did not, or UK did not
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: announce that there was a media day until last week.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: You don't find that rather odd? I mean, it is.
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: I didn't even know what was happening yesterday. I completely
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: forgot about it. And normally it's like, oh.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: We got media day, got media day, got media day.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: And it just came and went. Yeah, but doesn't, isn't
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: some of that having to do with the football team
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: and their success? Like, allow people. Allow fans to enjoy
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: the football season before we get basketball crammed down our throat.
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: I'm telling you right now, when Mark Stoops had it
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: going on in 2018, and that team, even Cal was saying,
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: oh my gosh, are we talking football at Basketball Media Day?
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: He was making all kinds of, in fact, I asked
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: a question about that. He's like, this is crazy how
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: football is just taking over. But that day at UK
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: Basketball Media Day, there wasn't a seat in the house.
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: And yesterday, it was just like, oh, yeah, we got
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: media day. Again, I completely forgot about it. I didn't
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: even care about going. So, I don't know. Just before,
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: I would have been so excited to go to this.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: I hate to be coming down on Mark Pope, but
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: guess what? The entire program kind of feels like it's
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: coming down.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: I mean, we're also over a month away from the season. So,
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: it doesn't feel like. That basketball is even close to
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: being on the horizon. Oh, and that all, I agree.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: Despite the fact that it is.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: But it felt like that every single year before, too.
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: And now that just, I don't know. Oh, it's an
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: afterthought even to the head coach. It seems like it's
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: a bit of a problem.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: So, I don't know.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: I have tried to stay positive about Mark Pope in
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: the basketball program. This year, I might not be that way.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: I might be kind of neutral. And if people want
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: to complain about Mark Pope, if people want to be
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: positive about Mark Pope, I'm going to let them do
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: either way and let it play out how it's going
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: to play out. I just don't have a good feeling
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: about this.
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: I just don't.
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: So I don't have a good feeling how Mark Pope's
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: feeling about this team either.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: But we'll see. He may not either. Exactly.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: That's what bothers me. So we'll see how it pans out.
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: And if things turn out great, I'm going to be
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: happy for him. But if things don't turn out great,
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: I'm hoping Jay Bett can make a decision that, you know,
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: even though it's my first year, I might have to
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: make a tough decision to go after somebody else. And
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: I hope Jay Bett is that way. So I'm sorry
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: for Mark Pope if it doesn't work out because, yeah.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: He's one of our own. Well, let's cross that bridge
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: when we get there.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: I know. I just kind of set the tone.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: And that was a bit of a negative tone.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: It was. Sorry about that. All right.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: We got to take our last break. When we come back, yeah,
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: we'll talk a little bit about the thing that happened
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: yesterday with the government.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: But also, how did LeBron decide where he's going with
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: the 76ers? I thought it was kind of an interesting story.
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: We'll talk about that, too. Stay right there.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: One more segment just gets coming right up. All right,
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: before we go today, there's a couple things I definitely
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: want to talk about. First of all, your Steelers team. Yeah.
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: I'm surprised you didn't see this, and I'm surprised you
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: haven't talked about it. But their national anthem was sung
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: by somebody, not even from America, but none other than
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: Iron Maiden's lead singer, Bruce Dickinson.
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: He sung it acapella. And I thought he did an
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: absolutely phenomenal job. He's in the Iron or the Steel City,
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: so it makes sense.
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. I didn't even think about that. Yes.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: But it was hilarious to see the responses that this
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: was not the real Bruce Dickinson. You remember that was
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: the Bruce Dickinson that was on the SNL sketch where
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: they did the cowbell?
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Not familiar. Oh, come on. I did see the cowbell skit,
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: but I don't know who Bruce Dickinson. Okay, well, that
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: was the guy that played the producer there. That was
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: Bruce Dickinson played by, oh, the actor. I can't think
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: of his name, but yeah. Oh, yeah. He went by
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: Bruce Dickinson. Gotcha. Yeah. Christopher Walken.
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: Christopher Walken, that's right. So he played Bruce Dickinson. Yeah,
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: that's me, Bruce Dickinson. I mean, before y'all be wearing gold-plated,
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: what was it, gold-plated diapers or something? Oh, yeah, it
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: was just awesome.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: Whatever happened, let's bring him back every week because we
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: stuck it to the bingle. Okay, thanks. Suck it.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: Really appreciate that. And then people are going nuts because
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: last night, the Chicago Bears brought in a Mariacha band.
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: Wait, did they really? You didn't see that? I missed that. Oh,
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: you got to go back and watch that. Oh, that's fantastic. Oh,
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: they were.
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: And people are criticizing that. How can you criticize a mariachi?
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Because they said, well, they're not from this country. It's like,
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: what difference does that matter? We are filled with people
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: that are from this country.
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: Exactly. America was built on foreigners. Exactly.
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: Personally, I loved it. I thought they did a phenomenal job. So, yes,
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: you need to go back and watch it. Only thing
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: I didn't like, the quarterback that's injured for the Chicago Bears,
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: he's walking around the sidelines. It's like, dude, stand still
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: while the national anthem is being played. It was almost
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: very disrespectful.
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: Gotcha.
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I did not like that. But I loved the
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: mariachi band. So, yeah, people are going nuts because ESPN
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: put it up on their social media. It's like, they're
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: not Americans. Well, this entire country is made of non-Americans, okay?
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: So, anyway. At some point.
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: I loved it. But I thought it was great. And
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: I hope they do more of stuff like this.
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: But.
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: I don't know if you saw it or not. The
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: Senate passes this. Protect the College Sports Act.
- 1:28:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: Here's the thing.
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: The bill limits the power for or conferences that report
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: more than 700 million revenue to 20 members. Any power
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: four team wanting to move to a new league must
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: spend three years as an independent. That one line right
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: there just saved the ACC.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: It did.
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: I mean, you can say whatever you want. I think
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: three years is a bit steep. What do you think?
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, two seems good. More reasonable. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: But three years is a long time. And they should
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: put in this, too, that every team should be a
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: part of a conference.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: And enough of this whole independent crap. And that if
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: we're in the top 12, we get to be in
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: the college football playoffs.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: No, you don't.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: Play a decent schedule, and we'll see how your schedule
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: is ranked with everyone else's. And then possibly you could
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: make the college football playoffs. Athletes are allowed to transfer
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: only once. I did like that. Players are able to
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: transfer if their head coach is a change. And the
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: legislation gives the NCAA antitrust protection to enforce transfer rules
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: and prevent tampering.
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: Like that. I mean, there are a lot of good things.
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: There are. But it's not going to pass. Why not?
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: It's already passed. Well, it passed the Senate. Now it
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: goes to the House of Representatives. You don't think it'll
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: pass there? Well, they can't vote until after election season.
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: And then if it's not passed by time, a new
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: Congress takes over, it has to start all over. Yeah.
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: So you think it'll start all over is what you're
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: telling me?
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: All right, then.
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: That would be my prediction. We'll see what happens. I
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: know a lot of the people are out there. Lastly,
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: the law would prevent any FBS coach from leaving for
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: a new head coaching job in season to a new school.
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: So they're calling that the Lane Kiffin rule.
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: The only issue I have is, I guess, with the
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: transfer rules only allowing to transfer once. Look, I think
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: you should be able, if kids want to transfer four
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: or five times, by all means, you can do that.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: But only your first one's free. The other ones, you've
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: got to sit, we're going back to old rules, you've
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: got to sit out. Oh, sit out? Yeah.
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: So, in other words, you're enforcing the same rule, basically.
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: They're not going to transfer if they have to sit
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: out the entire year.
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: Well, then you can't transfer. Sorry. Well, then just keep
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: it how it is.
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: You can transfer one time. I think one time is enough.
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: Unless your coach takes another job or loses his job,
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: then you should be allowed. I agree with that. I
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: think one time transfer is enough. And enough said as
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: far as I'm concerned.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: It should be. Yeah. Well, it's just been too much.
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: By the way, I don't know if you saw this story,
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: but LeBron James said he picked the 76ers because of
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: one player that he picked the brain of.
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: Did you see this? I didn't.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: And it ended up being Tyrese Maxey. So he wanted
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: to sit down and pick the brain of Tyrese Maxey
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: before he made this decision. And that was predominantly the
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: decision he made to go to the 76ers because he
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: feels like he can build a team and win a
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: championship with Tyrese Maxey.
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: I thought that was cool. Shows the respect he has
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: for him. Exactly.
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: Now, they do share the same agent, too, which I
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: think kind of helps. So the same agent that Tyrese
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: Maxey has, the same agent LeBron James has.
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: Man, Tyrese is just living the life. He really is.
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: He must wake up every morning and pinch himself. Like,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: what's happening? He should. He's got Rondo hitting him up
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: to work out his kid. He's got LeBron picking his
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: brain on where he should go for his next destination.
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: Isn't that great? Like, what a wildlife.
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: I love that. I mean, I think that's great. But
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: one thing, how much time we got?
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: About a minute. Okay.
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: I did want to talk about the Josh Allen thing.
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: Did you see that the other day?
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: I did, with the football.
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: With the Jaguars and the football.
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: Don't touch me.
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: The little football dude's going crazy. Now they found out
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: he's a Patriots fan.
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: No, that would check out.
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: He was getting his ass. You can't touch me. Don't
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: touch me. No, no.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: I thought that was the dumbest thing. It's like, dude,
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: he wants the football because his teammate just made his
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: first interception in the NFL.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: Just on a power trip. It was.
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: It was completely a power trip. So speaking of power,
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: tomorrow we're going to talk about Power K. Can't wait
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: to talk about that. So appreciate you listening. Everybody have
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: a great day. We'll see you tomorrow on Just the Cats.
