It was also Notre Dame who ditched their hundred year

rivalry with USC to play a home in home series with BYU in this

in the next two seasons. So the story goes, USC wanted to

They didn't want to play later on in the year.

And Notre Dame didn't want to do that.

balanced schedule for themselves.
