- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, what's up, Brown Span's, welcome back to another episode of The Dog's Podcast.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: We got Josh All and I've got Kenny Mac with me today, not from Ways and Ways and Ways.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: We're all great, white and north.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, had today's from the grief, not so warm south down in Florida.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the weather's happening.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly cooperating down there for you.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's cold and clear water beach right now.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: One thing I didn't know, if you guys are in the discord you probably found out, because it sounded ton of pictures.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: I've been a wrestling fan since I've been 10 years old.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Hulk Hogan's is from here.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: His bar is just literally a two block walk from here.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: I had a blast at it.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: It was a great time.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's cool.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: All right, well, so today everybody, Kenny and I are bringing you, we typically try to do at least one of these episodes every off season to talk about the free agency preview for the Cleveland Browns.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: I did the breakdown of the roster in the state of the roster last week and with 32 expiring contracts on this team that's going to have a lot of work to do.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: in free agency.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_02]: So we were putting notes together, Kenny's got some guys he's going to present.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: I got guys I'm going to present and whenever I was going through my list of guys and people that I wanted to present on the show, I realized I really only got through offensive line and a little bit of receiver like I didn't even get to the defensive side of the ball.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: So there's probably going to be a part two hell who knows maybe a part three of free agency preview here before the new league year opens up here in a couple weeks just because the bros need so many things.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: But we've got some names to bring to you guys.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: What's that, Kenny?
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: I was gonna say, I couldn't agree with you more.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: I had a hard time and as we were talking before, we just started this.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'd have changed my guys a couple times because we needed so many players.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't make up my mind on a couple.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: And...
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit harder.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: We don't really know what we can spend yet.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: Guys haven't been restructured.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go and we've had discussions feeling that we have to move forward and restructure to Sean.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: So that will open up some stuff.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I got a little bit better player quality players.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: I was able to put there.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see what happens, but we'll get through this and have a little bit of fun.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I would say, and I don't know if you agree or disagree with this, Kenny, but I feel like, you know, I mean, I'm expecting the Browns to make maybe one or two kind of those big splash moves where they really go and pay heavy for a player that we really need probably on the offensive line, but after that, I feel like a lot of the players that we signed for ages here are going to be the who.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: players, you know, the one year, you know, $2.5 million contract guys, four million dollar content, you know, for one year could type of players, the low cost, one year deals, and then they're going to be gone after the season.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like that will be the bulk of what we do in for agency.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm kind of what I'm hearing from you to like you've got your high ceiling guys that are about 26, 27, 28 years old you've been spending anywhere from two to seven million dollars on them.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of originally where my thought process was when we were talking about the players that we have, but I do have some maybe some splash your move, so we'll see what everybody thinks.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, I'm going to turn the floor over to you to kind of present your opening statement for free agency preview and then if you want to lead into your first player that you want to talk about feel free to do so.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think I just want everybody to understand like what I'm looking for in players is basically what Todd Munkin said in his presser and then the Cleveland Browns with Nathan Zagura did another interview kind of combined everything together and what I hear him saying and I think you guys will agree if not or if I missed anything put something in the comments, but he's looking for a high effort, high motor competitors.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: mentally tough, accountable player.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: So guys who own up to their mistakes, smart players who can execute under pressure and versatile players with at least one elite trait that he can exploit.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: So, and you guys must clearly remember when he said, every player has at least one elite trait, that's whether the NFL, you just have to find it and he favors that and loves to exploit it.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: Team first players who love football,
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: fast processors not just fast runners or high physical trade guys.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I have a little bit to broken down per position, let's say, but I think the simplest way.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: to describe a pumpkin player would be not just talented and I know Barry is going to look for that talent but they got to be tough, accountable, intelligent and obsessed with improving and I'm sure that that rang true to a lot of you guys and maybe the exact archetype in one sentence would be something like high effort mentally tough, coachable players who execute consistently and compete like it's fourth and one every day and everybody loved that last sentence
- 5:10[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, absolutely, because, I mean, the Browns will find themselves as many fourth and ones is more like fourth and eighths, but, you know, I'm with you.
- 5:18[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm just a cute, like it's fourth and one, every play, maybe we will, you know, maybe change that up a little bit.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll kick it off.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to start with maybe more of a splurge, as kind of a two for one deal, but we'll get into that.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking at Rashid Shahid.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: I love what he did for Seattle and boosted their special teams.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, obviously, you always want to be in the game of field position.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's a guy, receiver, six foot, 180 pounds, 26 years old.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's definitely something that
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: Barry's always looking for.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: He came undrafted out of Weber State, and we know he primarily on offense is going to be an explosive place, played baker.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: Motions a lot, but mainly a vertical Z receiver, and obviously that two for one return specialist.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: So here's kind of what I'm looking for.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: A number one with a receiver.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: Munkins looking for route discipline, and this guy's pretty good.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: One of the correct routes consistently.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now he does a lot of go routes, right?
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of what we want to see.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: Deep post, go routes, overs, deep crossers, slot fades.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of this is going to be because it's going to be, yeah.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: precise-based system, especially with play action.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: We just want him to blow the top off the defense.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: And with that speed, he gets separation.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's got true vertical speed.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's 4.3 range.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: Acceleration off the line is good.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's a smooth striker with efficiency.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: And the biggest thing is with his separation, it comes in multiple ways, vertical, horizontal.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: He can also separate off, rout stems.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: And this is why Monk can would love this guy in his offense.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: He excels at everything, play action, deep over, slot fades, vertical clear out, and immediate crossers.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: And here's a thing, like when I was looking up a guy, like obviously, we have a run game coordinator that was with the Ravens
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: His effort in blocking, I didn't think it was gonna be that good, but I guess it's quite a slightly underrated.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: He actually based on what Philum shows, actively engages in perimeter in the run game.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: Hustle's downfield on long runs.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: He competes on every snap.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: So that's fourth and one mentality, man.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: And his hands last year super reliable.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: I know that there's been some occasional concentration drops in his entire career.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, there's no perfect player out there, either, right?
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the one that got me was mental toughness.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know how sometimes you can make that trade or like prove it.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: But here's considered this.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: He was undrafted from Weber State.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: He was basically, when you're on draft and you have no guarantees, here in the roster spot.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: So you had to give effort and where do you usually earn a roster spot if
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: you're undrafted, it's special teams and not only is he good, he's like an all-pro at that.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now what he's able to do, he was be able to coach up, with mental toughness, here in success, to get onto the actual offense.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that would definitely be an mental toughness and coachability evaluation of an A man from my standpoint.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: then as long as you're not making mistakes, this has got to show great football intelligence as well because he's not making mistakes as a UDFA and he's working his way up the ranks and being a pretty good receiver.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's really good, especially, he's effective as he's come through as a player and play action concepts, scrambled drills, and the vertical spacing is what's kept him on rosters and kept him thriving.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: So what I see from him this year, if we were able to get him, I mean, you look at 50 catches, maybe 750 to 1000 yards, a couple TDs,
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: but the main thing I want from this guy, sure up my special teams, I want to return her with a name on it, man, and I want to win the field position that'll to help Shidorah out and help develop this offense.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: Overall, the verdict on Rashid is he's a great fit.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's a high effort guy, tough competitor, very coachable, explosive weapon, and he's executes the correct roles.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the kind of the evidence that I've given you guys, but ultimately what I'm looking for is a guy that
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: While he had 59 receptions and 687 yards and a couple touchdowns and he had a big impact on special teams, I'm looking at him like a Z-flowers guy who had about 86 receptions and he had about 1,200 yards last year with 5 touchdowns.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: is about a 14.1-yard average and that's where I would like to see him go, but what I'm really looking at is for munking to develop him as that flowers, a Bateman type duo with bond.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's something that coaches do when they're familiar with something that worked, they'd move forward forward with it.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I'd Josh, I don't know if you'd want this, but I mean we pick him up for maybe
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: and him and barn have a season or seasons like Bateman and flowers did the last two years that would be pretty good for us, right?
- 10:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it'd be better than anything we've had in recent memory.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, outside of a couple big seasons from a Murray Cooper, we have not had much to speak of.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_02]: with the wide receiver unit, just that we don't invest in that unit.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: We don't prioritize it when we're drafting.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: We just, it's just like the forgotten unit.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: And it shows up every Sunday.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like, did you have anything else about Rashid Hed?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: Nope, that's where I'm at with that.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: And guys, I'm still dropping a receiver in the first round.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'll put that up there too.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: absolutely no kidding.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: Well since you did Rashid Shaheed to kick things off, I'll scroll down and I'll talk about the one receiver that I really dived deep into.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: So I want to preface this by saying first of all, what I should have said at the top of the show is go to join the dogs.com.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys want to be part of these type of discussions in the discord,
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: all the time people were in there all the time talking about for reagents.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: Have you looked into this guy?
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: This guy could be a value for the team or a good fit for this position or whatever.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_02]: So if you want to be part of this conversation, you want to hang out with the dog pack, join the dogs.com.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: So I've got a couple people on my list here today where I did things a little differently than I've done in your past.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not just bringing guys that I want the Browns to sign.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also going to bring some names that I know people out there in the fan base have commented excessively that they like this player.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: They want the Browns to go after him and maybe it's not such a good idea.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the receiver that I'm going to talk about today.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_02]: This is not a, I want the Browns to go get this guy.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: This is a,
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: Let's be careful of what we wish for if they do.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: And my receiver, I'll talk about here is Romeo Dobs from the Green Bay Packers.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: He's 25 years old, six foot two, two, four, Spotrak projects them at a four year, $48 million deal, so that's around $12 million per year.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: So a little bit less than what they're projecting for a guy like Rashid Shahid.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_02]: Romeo Dobbs, he played in 16 games last season, had 83 targets, 55 catches, 724 yards and six touchdowns.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: Now over his four-year rookie contracting green bay, he posted 222 receptions, 2424 yards and 21 total touchdowns.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: He runs about 83% of his rots on the outside, about 17% from the slot.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: So he's more of your outside receiver.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: The skin on dobs, like I like Romeo dobs as a player, but there are red flags all throughout his deeper analytical profile that worry me especially if he comes to Cleveland.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's only has a 1.73 yards per route run in 2025.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: And that was actually the highest of his entire career.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: His career yards per route run is just 1.52.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: You guys know for me that number has to be over two at minimum, so he is well below that threshold of my opinion for a guy that you're going to pay this type of money I'm not every receiver you go signing for agencies.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to have that mark in the metrics, but at this price point I want him to be a little better there.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's got just 3.2 career yac after yac per reception, so he's not much of a threat
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: after the ball gets in his hands, just a 48.2 contested catch rate, which isn't terrible, but you'd like to see it be over 50 and maybe even closer to 60 percent for somebody of his play style, and he has 17 drops over his four-year career, which is a 7.8% career drop rate.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: They have drops that have been a bugaboo in Green Bay for Romeo Dubs, and that just concerns me playing alongside the drop king.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: which is Jerry Judy.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, who's a wide receiver that I would sign in free agency?
- 14:19[SPEAKER_02]: Again, you're not signing guys like George Pickins.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: You're not going after Mike Evans or Debo Sam you at their ages and their price points.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: Plus they're not coming here anyway.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_02]: You're not spending huge infighting over a guy like Alec Pierce who now the reporting the Colts aren't going to let him hit free agency anyway, you're probably not fighting over one Dale Robinson.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_02]: So all this points why I always say you just like can you said you got to draft your top receivers in the draft or go trade for them because they aren't available in free agency and free agency.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: I would sign a guy like Jalen Naylor from the Minnesota Vikings these 26 years old six feet one 90 played for the Vikings like I said, but Yeah, 444 yards 414 in the last two seasons despite being the third or maybe even fourth in the picking order
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: caught 10 touchdowns over the last two years inside outside versatility pretty much a 50 50 guy in terms of time spent in the slot versus out wide.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_02]: He's good contested catch player 63.2% rate over his career.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_02]: Again, you're not getting like a wide receiver one or wide receiver two and free agency.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: They don't exist there and they're not coming here even if they did, but I think nailer.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_02]: is a type of guy that could be a nice piece added to the wider sea or group he might even be better than said or tillman on a play by play basis.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: At least nailer has a better chance of being on the field consistently and Spotrex says he's like a one year deal worth about 4.7 million kind of like I said at the top of the show so that would fit what we need to do on this roster and honestly at that position.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know what, I keep hearing what you're saying and like it was tough to even to do Rashid to be real with you.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: The only reason I'm doing him is I really want to nail the point home that I need to fix special teams.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: And again, like for something that we could get from him, you're definitely gonna always overpay for receiver and not get the real fair market value because we need to fill holes.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: So you overpay for that, right?
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why I think that's why I keep advocating,
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: If we're both picks, you know, both picks, but I kind of wanted to do something sexy, a great, like, some of a fun pick, and she heat is that for sure.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: Do I feel confident about it?
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's probably going to follow Clinkoobiac to be real, right?
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: We'd have to, we'd have to sell up more money than what I just said.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_02]: for sure.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: But I like the guy that you're looking at nailer, I almost did.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: I almost did okay.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: Share notes.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then I was like, okay, I'm going to go for the splash pick.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, but with the one outlying thing or underlying thing is that you both you and I feel we need receivers bad.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then you take a look at that chart.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's not a hard thing that
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: Major need for this team, and so is offensive lines.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_02]: So before we shift there, did you have any other receivers you wanted to bring up, or you ready to kick it over to the O line?
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: Just based on your last conversation last night or two nights ago, I am not on the AJ Brown train either, so.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just to me, it just doesn't make sense.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: Again, not, not that I don't like AJ Brown.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's a hell of a player.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: Great, great football player.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: Just as you not fit what we need and what we're trying to do and what we're able to do with the cap, like I just, I don't see how it fits.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's the cap thing a hundred percent, but I can move into the offensive line if you want.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay, bring me your first guy.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is partnered with Kaoshi.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_02]: Browns fans are you ready to put your money where your predictions are, with Kaoshi, America's number one regulated prediction market you can legally trade on events that actually matter to you.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: And the best part is you don't need to predict specific stat lines and compile a seven-like parlay just to win big.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: With Kaoshi the objective is either yes or no.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_02]: Will Shidorah Sanders be the Browns week one starting quarterback?
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: Will Fernando Mendoza be the first overall pick in the draft?
- 18:17[SPEAKER_02]: Will the Browns make their pick at six or will they trade out of that spot?
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: And in other sports, will the calves win the NBA Finals?
- 18:23[SPEAKER_02]: You can put your money on these predictions and more with CalShe if you want to try it out.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_02]: CalShe is giving $10 to anyone who signs up at calshe.com-slashdogs and trades $100.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: Get away from disadvantageous sportsbooks and dive into real-world outcomes with real-time odds and real payouts.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: Head over to CalShe, KAL,
- 18:44[SPEAKER_02]: S-H-I dot com slash dogs, DAWGS, or just click the link in the description to get $10 when you trade 100 with Kalshi, because why shouldn't you get paid for being right?
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: So my first guy, I mean, I stressed out about this because I've been listening to Josh in the state of the team and like, I'm just super scared about the guard position.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm signing Dylan Param.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: I like the guy.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, this guy is,
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: 27 years old, he's right in the wheelhouse where Barry wants an age for a second contract.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: I found that he was 301 pounds up to 302 pounds.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: Went with 332 because that's what the Raiders state he is.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: He's got some versatility.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: So his primary position is left guard based played right in center.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: He is along the lines of a high effort, mentally tough, coachable guy, executes consistently and competes like it's fourth and one every day.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's a super strong match and the reason he does is because he's not a tall guy.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: So his entire profile or his entire game is kind of built around reliability intelligence effort and not really flash or
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I guess rass like the big physical parameters.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: So he always wins with consistency, technique, intelligence, assignment discipline, and competitive toughness.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: And this is like hallmarks of our new offensive line coach at George Warhop.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, obviously, from what I said about Munkin, that's what he's looking at too, but trait by trait of valuation, I mean, tough.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: It shows up.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: He battles through contact consistently, battles larger defensive tackles, rarely loses any compete snap to snap with a high motor.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: This guy doesn't quit on reps.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, the only time that he kind of fails a little bit, he can get overrun a little bit.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: But he's definitely not a mall or like Wyatt Taylor, and that's kind of something I was looking for.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: But based on the pressures, that's not what Martin prioritizes.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's smart, he's obviously being a center in college when a huge way this guy identify stunts, passes off defenders well, adjusts to protections, recognizes blitzes, and he's rarely busting assignments.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: and that's super important for Monkin because he requires protection adjustments, blitz recognition, and he needs mentally flexible guys.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: The guys technically sound, he has, this is where George Warhop comes in, excellent hand placement, strong leverage, balance base, efficient footwork, and he's rarely, rarely off balance.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: Communicate
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: strong awareness of defensive fronts and also effective at passing off twists and other game changes.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: He definitely is a guy that can improve line cohesion and man Justin are Justin Josh.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: The line cohesion last year.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, like can we please fix that?
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: This guy sounds amazing.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: The guy's reliable, doesn't miss assignments, doesn't boss protections, doesn't make mental error error, he's just dependable.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: And he's a guy that can do inside outside zone, combo blocks, he climbs to the second level with linebackers very, very well.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's a guy that I'm definitely looking forward to the Browns with his versatility, while he doesn't have the athletic profile that I'm generally used to looking for, maybe more for Stephansky.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's got those strengths of the good lateral movement, efficient footwork, functional strength, he's got balance and control.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: So I think this guy can definitely fit in.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: He'll be like a match like sightler was here or the way they kind of had
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: uh, in Baltimore, who was a guy that was just a play to have to play a little bit smarter.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I think we can get them.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of average between spot track and what they were saying on PFF, two, three years, eleven million dollars, and he's a guy that I think is ideal for a month in with his toughness, smartness, his reliability, communication, and P, I think PFF puts it best.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: This guy's was a four-year starter with the Raiders.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: He might not be a probal calmer player, but he's a capable starter on the offensive line.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's only 26, and there's some upside, and I definitely say there'd be some upside when you have a coach like Warhop at Worst, he's a solid floor player.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: And this is what you and I were talking about, like, let's get some of these solid floor players on a year or two contract, maybe three, and let's get an identity on this brown team.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: And whenever I was putting together my offensive line guys, obviously, I've got a center I'm going to talk about who I've talked about a ton.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_02]: I've got a left tack when here I'm going to talk about.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: But I was like, I got to find somebody at the guard position that I'm really excited about for the Browns director for agency and Dylan Parham was the guy that I found.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: So that was that's awesome that you brought him up and you're right.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: We're getting this perennial probal player, but you got to remember guys, you can't have five probalers on your offensive line all the time.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_02]: You have to have reliable starters that you can plug in next to guys that hopefully is a send to probal status, but you got to have consistent reliable alignment on your offensive line.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think part of him can be that for us and one thing in my notes.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_02]: one of the first things I went and looked for.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: I said, okay, play for the Raiders.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_02]: I need to see how he performed against the Browns in week 12.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: Because the Browns went into Las Vegas, whooped up on that offensive line of the Raiders.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: Ten sacks.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: It was such a dominant performance.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, okay, surely, parham was one of the guys that got embarrassed in that game.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: Parham allowed just
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: one total pressure and zero of those 10 sacks.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't give up a sack in that game against the Browns defensive front on 60 pass blocking snaps in that game and guys those were some very intense pass blocking snaps.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_02]: So that was impressive to me to see that he held his own against us.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that was really good.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I think what I want everybody to understand what I'm saying is like I was really hammering home the fact that he's reliable and just based on what you said on a really bad game by the Raiders and their offense he was still reliable.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, exactly.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's exactly the type of guy we need to go after because it needs out a good, a good value as far as his market projection and what they would have to spend to get him.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: And he fits that young mode, right?
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: Because they already said, we're going younger and everything.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not looking for them to go out and be signing guys out of 31 years old and free agency unless it's just to like a one year deal and they're going to be a depth piece on the defensive back end or something like that.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: Haram at 26 fits that bill of a younger guy who's going to come in here and be a part be a staple of the offensive line for at least the next three years And who knows absolutely where it goes after that.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: So I love that pick.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's a great player the guy that I'm going to talk about real quick You guys know who my favorite offensive linemen is if you've watched this show I want the browns.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: I need the browns to go get me Tyler Lindner bomb
- 26:05[SPEAKER_02]: He's got that connection with Todd Munk and in Paul Warhop, you know, from Baltimore, 623-0525 years old former first-round pick, Ravens took him in 2022, 25th overall out of Iowa, four years now in the league, he's coming off that rookie deal looking for that big second contract, Spotrack, Market Value, got him at 4 years, 70.9 million worth about 17.7, so we could just say 18 million dollars per year.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: It this would be the big splash signing.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_02]: If the Browns are able to go out and obtain Tyler Linderbomb.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: He was the fifth highest graded center.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_02]: Last season with an 80.3 offense grade for PFF, his run blocking was the fourth best center.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_02]: At 83.7, that's huge.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: We know this team wants to build an identity on the run game.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_02]: Every move they've made, every player personnel.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_02]: guy they've signed on the coaching staff for the offense side of the ball has been geared toward running the ball.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: So this would be great.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_02]: Your center is key component to how well you're run game operates and Tyler Lindervom would be the best possible outcome for this team.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_02]: he had he was tied for 31st in pass blocking at 63.4 so his pass blocking is not exactly on the same level as his run blocking but that's okay not everybody can be you know high level at everything he allowed just 26 total pressures.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_02]: on 536 passblocking snaps only two sacks allowed all season.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: He still got work to do, like I said in that passblocking game, but it's not bad at it.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_02]: He's just not as good as the run game, but that's where I need him.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's where I need him.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that his experience, his high level of play, he is that probal caliber type of offensive linemen that we could go acquire.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that really helps
- 27:45[SPEAKER_02]: especially a young quarterback, because your center is going to come up, you're going to identify things on the defense side of the ball, pre-snap, you're going to be calling out some protections, you're going to be helping that quarterback.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's the move that I need the Browns to really focus on more than anything when free agency opens up.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you have a guy like that.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: If you get paramed that those two guys can work together and you're kind of passing off blockers.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: So while something might not be strong for one of the guards, you know,
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I'd be thrilled if we invested in that much money in the center position and then, you know, I would, there's another guy that's out there Ed Ingraham from the Houston Texans, I would probably sign him.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's a great run blocker.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's somebody that you had maybe five, six million dollars a year and the guy's got a run blocking grade of 79.9 and he finally got his pass blocking up last year, but he does struggle, but if you had those three guys.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: and you're looking at 18 and 11 plus maybe another five year, you're under what you were paying your previous three for the last three years substantially.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think that's what they have to try to do, you know, Blake said the other night, we need five new starting linemen.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_02]: Really, we do.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: If they decide they're going to roll one more year, trying to use the one, Jones at one of the tackle spots, okay, fine.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's a mistake, but that's the possibility.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: But I think they really do need five new starters.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, we've talked about, you're not going to have five rookies.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: Blake doesn't think he should have more than two rookies on the offensive line to start with, so you're going to have to get a center tackle guard, like he said, in free agency.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I think if you're able to get Tyler Lindervom, a guy like Dylan Parham, that would be a great start for the offensive line.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_02]: So do you have another offensive line, and you want to go through before I hit my tackle?
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: No, I just wanted to mention the one that I just mentioned, but like I mean, again, like with this what we're talking about and we say we get all all three the two guards the center we just spoke of I'm still going and I'm I'm getting what's his name pregnant from.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still drafting him if the second round if I can because I need him to supersede one of these guys but I need guys that can work today and get this offense going rolling this season and then the rookies can come up through the ranks when they can.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: Now I love that.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: That's a great call out for him to the the kid out of Oregon.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll just highlight real quick.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously mentioned him on the show the other night.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: I did some short videos talking about Rashid Walker the left tackle from the Packers and this is another guy that I'm going to talk about here with you guys that I don't think the Browns should prioritize and free agency and I'll go through that real quick.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm 100% with you, too, brother.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so he's six, six, three, 24, 26 years old.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: He's a former seventh round pick by the Packers 250th overall out of Penn State in 2022.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: So this is a guy who was not a highly, you know, touted prospect coming out of college and he worked his way into that starting rotation.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_02]: Now he's got himself set up for a big payday with this big second contract that he's going to get in for agency.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_02]: four years in the league coming off like I said that rookie deal, Spotrack Market value has about a four year 81.1 million dollars.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's 20.3 million per year and this is where my issues start with Rashid Walker.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: So that would put him the $20.3 million per year say that's what he does get.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_02]: That puts him just outside the top 10 highest paid left tackles in the league.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_02]: But the problem for me is he is not just outside the top 10 left tackles on the field.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_02]: While he's good, I don't think he is, you know, top 13 top 12 left tackle.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: Good.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: He had a 63 offensive grade 71st among, now this is all offensive tackle.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: So both right and left, but he was 71st there.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: a 53.7 run-blocking grade.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's 106 among all tackles.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: He's not good in the run-blocking game.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: And the 69.3 pass-blocking grade, which was 56, he allowed 40 pressures, 32 hurries, five sacks.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_02]: That's the same number of pressures, actually more hurries, and just three fewer sacks than Cam Robinson.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_02]: who we just endured for a whole season, watching him play and we're not doing that again.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: Things Rashid Walker also deals with penalties.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm fearful that if the Browns go and they make Rashid Walker one of the higher paid left tackles in the league, we're going to be right back on this show a year from now blaming Andrew Barry for putting another big contract onto the wrong player yet again.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: Instead, this is what I would like to see the Browns do.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: I would like to see them look at a guy
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: like Josh Jones from the Seattle Seahawks.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: Now he's six foot five, three hundred ten, little bit older than the other guys listed here on this show.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's 28 years old.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_02]: Still a young player though.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like he's 31 and he's got a year to left.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_02]: He could still play out this next contract very well.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_02]: He's a former third round pick by the Cardinals in 2020.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: And Spotrax has him out of one year, $3.5 million deal, so that would be a good price point if it's perfectly into this one-year contract model for Andrew Barry and some of these other role players that we need on the roster.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_02]: Now, he didn't start first Seattle except for three games from week 16 through 18 this past season.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_02]: He started at left-ackle.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: but he logged very good PFF grades across the board in those three games against the Rams, Panthers of 49ers, and he has experienced playing every single position on the line except for center.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_02]: So a guy like Josh Jones, I feel like would be a good signing for this team.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_02]: whether he's paged as a starter for this year or he's just going to be your top, you know, you're alignment six basically or six man on that unit to come in here and fill in for anybody who might get hurt or be out for a player, a game or whatever it is.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: The market, I just want to say this real quick, the market for tackles, especially left tackles.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's not there this year, guys, and free agency go look at it.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_02]: That's why Rashid Walker is going to get the bag.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: In free agency, I don't believe it should be the Browns who give it to him.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: Spotrex next highest projection for a contract at the left tackle position.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: Do you know who it is?
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's Cam Robinson.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: Now, that's how bad the left tackle position is and free agency.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_02]: It goes Rashid Walker, Cam Robinson.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that pretty much sums up my point on that one.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: Real quick, I guess I got another note here.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, I'm just rolling through my notes.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: Another cheaper option at tackle.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_02]: This is one is a 30 year old, but he's projected it again on a one year deal and it's like a $1.6 million contract.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: This Joseph note boom.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: Kenny, I think you and I highlighted note boom last off season on this show.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: In Baltimore, so there is a connection that could tie him to Cleveland with Munkin and War Hops.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_02]: So those are some options that tackle that I think the Browns could pursue in three to see that would make sense.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't think it's Rashid Walker, man, just not for me.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I forgot about in notebook and what was the thing last year to get kept calling them note blue?
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: Or was that what you put an L in there, which is the same thing, too?
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: And I forgot about that.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: I originally looked at that.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought a lot of the times when I take a look at players and I want to be very realistic of who the Browns will sign, it's who have they been coached by, right?
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: And that, he makes it a big, big,
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's a big connection because I still think then you can get Kayden Proctor late, not have the start and right away, you know, the guy that you said from Seattle was just as good as well, it's just there's the lack of connection between the guys on the offensive coaching.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, and that's a great point, and I want to talk about that real quick to, you know, there are some good tackles that I think the Browns could hone in on and grab at 24 in the draft if they don't go with a Maui Noa or Spencer Fano up top of the draft with their six pick, you know.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: Monroe Freeling out of Georgia, like you just said, yeah, I like how to who I'm not super high on Caden Proctor in terms of if you need him to come in and be your day one starter at Laugh Tackle that might be an issue.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think what you're saying here though, if we sign one of these veterans that can come in and maybe start for even half the season, let the kid get up to speed and get to work, get him in the weight room for the NFL and let him kind of.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_02]: You know, come along in the process of the NFL life could be a very good tackle.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't know if I'm comfortable thrusting him into a starting spot right away, but I think he's an interesting prospect.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm definitely not, is he would have like the attributes that you're looking for, the physical gifts that not a lot of guys can do run fast at a high weight, rate, big guy.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't always translate very well right when you're first starting in the NFL.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: Speed rushers will take advantage of that.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: He needs to get used to it.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'd feel way better about having freely start the year.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's an athletic guy, kind of the guy that Munkin knows because he probably recruited him or helped recruit.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_01]: and the athletic guys do a little bit better with those speed rushers, right?
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: So that was definitely my idea and you had some great with no boom and the other guy from Seattle, like those would be guys I'd want to start who were kind of used to the NFL grind and just gently add proctor in, you know, and I think that'd be fantastic.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, that's a great great note that you had about no boom.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and if, you know, if we're going to draft a guy to play left tackle, I would, and this maybe it's just me, maybe there's people out there that are like, it's not that big a deal to you guys.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: I want him to have played left tackle in college.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm tired of taking right tackles for the Browns and trying to move them over to left tackle.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_02]: We talk, we had Joe Thomas on the show last year and we asked him that question, you know, how is it just a an easy transition from one side to the other?
- 37:35[SPEAKER_02]: And he explained it.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_02]: He said, no, it's not.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's not just as simple as, you know, doing things the opposite way on the other side.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_02]: It is a big adjustment.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're going to take now we know a at six, let him play right tackle.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: If you want a left tackle, you're at 24, you're probably looking guys like freeling, proctor and probably Caleb blowing me out of Utah.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: Would be my guess if you're looking at left tackle with that spot.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 100% man, 100%.

- 40:55[SPEAKER_02]: I am uh... i can move us on to the next one if you'd like you're gonna have to because i think that rounds out pretty much everybody that i had prepared for today on the offensive side of the ball um... okay didn't have any defensive players for today so can you whoever you got next
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: Drop it.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, man.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: I actually do have a defensive player.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I've got John Franklin Myers and I'll tell you he's a defensive lineman.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: I looked under D tackles and look I was looking specifically for an interior tackle that could create have it can be pretty good against the run.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: I actually passed this guy over first because I just looked at his height and weight 64 288.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like no thanks and I kind of moved on to Nicole be deemed by couldn't make that work based on
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: Swesinger, so I went back to this guy.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's from Stephen F. Austin and he was a fourth round draft pick by the Rams and the Rams generally get high motor guys.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's one of the NFL's most reliable, underrated defensive lineman.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: He kind of broke out with the Jets.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: He became a full-time starter there and he earned a $55 million extension kind of help anchor that defense of front there and now is a key contributor for the Broncos and Man, this guy.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's had 300 plus pressures since 2020 as pretty impressive, and that's a guy kind of like they've had on the team versatility three technique four eye five technique
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, he's effective inside.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: He can play the edge.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: So we know Root and Berg likes to disguise things.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's much just going to change with him on the front, uh, defensive line, but to have a guy that can play all across the line is pretty effective and like great thing to have.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's a consistent interior cross rusher, typically five to sack seven sacks a season.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: The main thing is in Blake always talks about this.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: We like moody Collins for this.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: Collapses the pocket and this rupts quarterbacks and that'll help us, but here's what I didn't know Strong at the point of attack for run defense maintains gap discipline and physically reliable.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's a high effort Consistency motor guy rarely at a position and he's dependable of week-to-week and these are all the things I've been outlighting by the other three guys as well
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: Now, weakness, sometimes he wins with strength and technique more than elite explosiveness.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to apologize for that.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think this guy will be a fantastic addition for Mike Root and Burbs at defense.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think typically, if you listen to this sit down interview with Nathan Zagura,
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: Mountain was saying before they had Rutenberg, they're looking for players on defense that play fast and attacked aggressively.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's an elite trait that he has.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: We just kind of went over that.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I think across the board, Mountain's looking for versatility.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we said three technique, five technique.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: Edge on early down sometimes.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'll like long downs.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: And he's a true disruptor.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_01]: So as far as culture and effort, he's got a high effort on every snap.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_01]: uh... physical play style discipline is very coachable big thing is his he played with robber solid defense in the jets will guess who is there migrudenberg i'm hoping there's a connection and hope in mike says come and play for me you know uh... we talked about football i could and that's something that i'm really looking for
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: I can only tell you like based on tape and this is what I've read rarely misses assignments.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, teens gap discipline, any executes consistently.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I think this guy is going to be a fantastic fit for our club.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_01]: The Brown just want, if they want a true tone set or fits into root and burbs, aggressive fast identity, this guy is the clear choice.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's been a steady force behind defenses, sorry, Denver's defenses.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: success over the last two seasons and this guy's recorded 95 total pressures in that time.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: Think about that coming up the middle.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: I mean to help miles maybe grab another sack record or get a defensive MVP.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think this guy is everything what I was hoping Mike Hall Junior would be and he's not and I'm ready to sign this guy for three years about 12 to 14 million.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think that would be great.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_02]: We obviously, I went through the roster and stuff.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_02]: We need help on the defensive line.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we've got miles.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, we just extended Alex right and you've got Mason.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_02]: Graham and everything in there, but and then meet Collins, of course.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_02]: But if any of those guys get hurt or they come out at the point, you're trying to rotate them in.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_02]: We're screwed.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_02]: We saw what happened last year.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: We lost Millie Collins and he's coming off the injury now.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if he'll be, you know, full speed 100% Millie Collins right at the beginning of the season.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to need help in the middle.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm glad you mentioned Mike Hall.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I'm not impressed with Mike Hall.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't, I don't think I can rely on Mike Hall.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to have to prove me wrong and prove me that he can be what we drafted him in the second round to be because so far he has not been that.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and everything I read about this guy is everything that Mike Hall, I thought was going to be an isn't in the reason actually that I want to sign him is more for the Malik Collins effect in case things just don't go well with his injury.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: If he doesn't heal up as well, if he's lost some explosiveness, whatever that he has to do to get out of that.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure he will and I hope that Mike Hall Junior does better than what he's had, but I think this guy would just that's money on the table and you're going to get
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: the results.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I guess I kind of lied.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_02]: I do have a couple other guys and I want to talk about and I scroll down here.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_02]: I realized I did start working on the defensive line on some of these free agents and the one guy that I was doing some work on, so I'll just mention him along with your John Franklin Myers series, Tim Settle.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: at the defensive tackle position 63313's 28, played for the Houston Texans the last two seasons on that dominant defense.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_02]: They got them Spotrack a two year 7.4 million dollars at 3.7 a year kind of fits that mold as well.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's a good player, reasonable contract, again to add to that interior where we just need more reliable bodies behind the top two guys and Graham and Collins.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_02]: So I threw some in there as well.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I completely agree with you.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's a guy that I looked at.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, between him, the guard edding grum, and then I had a receiver, the guy that got cut from the dolphins.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_01]: Ultimately, that's what I was looking at for the Browns of Sign.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: Not the sexiest picks to talk about, you know, as far as like having a
- 47:38[SPEAKER_01]: content for today and that kind of thing.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_01]: But that's that's kind of what we're getting at these 25, the 27 year olds that we can get two to three years out that are five to seven million dollars and that will fill out the roster for sure.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_01]: The only guy that I still I did a little bit of work on and I just couldn't fit him in.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'll go over him just a real quick.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: I was looking at
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: in a Kobe Dean.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_01]: And this guy is a Lionbacker.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's 511, 231 pounds, a little bit undersized.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_01]: He kind of reminds me of Delvin Bush.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: And it was a guy that I was thinking we might sign in place of him.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: But he's in the Lionbacker.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I just don't know if I want to do that.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_01]: We've been talking about how we don't like
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: putting or jamming guys in positions where they'd never play that position before.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: Tarver seems to be a magic man with some of the linebackers that come through here, so maybe there's something based on his elite traits of speed and his range on the field that we could get something like a J.O.K player out of him or a
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if we don't resign bush something similar to that level, but again, he'd be not playing the position that he's good at, uh, which is Mike, and we got a great one in Swesinger, so I'm not really ready to bring any of those guys out there rolls just yet.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, totally understand that.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: And then, you know, I know we're kind of wrapping it up here.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_02]: And every did you have anybody else on defense that you want to talk about before I move on?
- 49:07[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, no, those are the two guys was kind of looking at.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so the last guy that I wanted to talk about, I've mentioned them on previous shows.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_02]: I was kind of, I kind of forgot about him whenever I was putting everything together for today's show.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_02]: But I got to talk about it because we desperately need the position.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_02]: It might not be like a super sexy pick for the,
- 49:24[SPEAKER_02]: want to say the more casual fan out there, but for me, I've just loved this guy since he came into the league.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's Kate Otten at tight end for the team for the years.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns have one tight end under contract, a tariff in the junior.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_02]: He is not an inline blocking traditional archetype.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_02]: Titan.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_02]: We need that, especially if we're going to be having one or potentially two rookie tackles, how about we put a veteran, a legitimate veteran blocking Titan next to one of those tackles on these plays where we're going to be running 12 personnel because Todd Munkin likes to use his tight ends.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_02]: Kate on to me is one of the best.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_02]: He really like as far as an extension of the blocking game.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_02]: that's where he excels and he's he's a pretty darn good past catcher too.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_02]: He can be reliable the thing with him in Tampa Bay they had Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and then a mechig boooka they had Jalen McMillan last year.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_02]: They've got a whole bunch of past catchers that can get him job done.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: He was never like a top target for them.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_02]: But when they needed him, let's see, this was in 2024.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_02]: There was a three game stretch where I don't know if it was both Evans and Godwin were out.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_02]: But either way, he had a three game stretch K dot and did where he had 31 targets, 25 catches, 258 yards and three touchdowns over three games.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_02]: And then.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_02]: his durability.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_02]: This guy has played in 63 of his 68 career games over four seasons.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't miss games.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_02]: He's the dude that you see out there.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't wear gloves.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's just bear handed blocking guys, making catches.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think that he would bring that mental toughness, the physicality, the leadership, that a young roster needs.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_02]: He's 26 years old, so he fits the Maltu as a younger veteran that they could bring in Spotrax as a three year $23.7 million contract that's about $8 million a year.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's worth it.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's worth it for what we, we don't have reliable past catchers at the receiver position.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_02]: We know Harold Fan and Junior is great.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get a guy who can play the traditional Titan role also be a reliable past catcher.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: While we get a rookie receiver or two, some of these younger guys to continue to develop, but we need somebody to be able to do those things.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_02]: And for me, it's Kate Otten.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's a lighter version statistically of like Mark Andrews.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's not as athletically gifted, but I think he'd be like Zacker.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's no definitely be somebody that, you know, you'd want on your team.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's somebody that I would want on my team.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_01]: I know a lot of people want to hear Isaiah Lakeley's name, but Isaiah Lakeley is really Harrow fan and junior, and you don't want two of those guys really on your team.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_01]: You need an inline block or slash a receiver
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: and then you just need a walking tight end and then you need a weapon because fan engineering is just really a weapon.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know what an offense would look like if you had two hero fanons and that you weren't complain about it number one, but definitely you need something if you're going to run a 21 personnel.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_01]: You got to have slightly different sets of tight ends.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for sure.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I know there's all kinds of different terminology used out there that all kind of mean the same thing.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_02]: Hero phantom juniors like a utility back is what he is because you can put him at tight end, you can put him in the slot, you can put him out wide, you can put him in the back, feel it full back.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_02]: You can line him up all over the formation and he's going to go out there and make a play.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_02]: That's not, you know, that's a specifically, you know, a specific type
- 52:55[SPEAKER_02]: But you need your inline blocking, get your hand in the dirt, go out and all the guy, go out and make catch that kind of thing.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_02]: So that for me would be Kate Otten.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: Because that was David and Joku, right?
- 53:06[SPEAKER_02]: And he was your guy you leaned on for the blocking and all that stuff.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_02]: We could go also go out and make plays.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_02]: So we got to replace that position.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely, that's actually after everybody that we've spoke about.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think that would be my highest priority to sign is K-Dot and right now.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: I know we need tackles, I know we need guards.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get those, but to make the offense work.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think we've been saying there's a couple guys that we've had in mind between the two of us at the guard position, at the tackle position.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: But if you look at,
- 53:41[SPEAKER_01]: You know, do you really want to develop a tight end early in the draft, or would you like a guy that's established like a a zacker tight guy that can get the chains moving, make some blocks.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: That guy sounds important.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: Very, very important to the offense.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think that pretty much does it for today's free agency preview.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, we'll be doing a little bit more of these as the next couple of weeks go on because we've got we we're going to need to sign a corner back or two.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to need to ask him safety help linebackers as far as a priority.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_02]: Re-sign you mentioned him, but Devon Bush should be great to get him back on this event.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see if they're able to do that.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise Carson's Washington is really the only established linebacker currently on the roster.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_02]: We need help.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_02]: at all these positions.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: So let me know what you guys think in the comments.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_02]: How did Kenny and I do on our free agency break down.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_02]: Did you guys learn some names that you like?
- 54:32[SPEAKER_02]: Did you agree with me on some of the guys that I presented that I'm not so high on?
- 54:37[SPEAKER_02]: Let us know what you guys think if there's other names out there in free agency that you want to see the browns go in on or you'd like us to break down on the show.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: Put it in the comments and we'll see if we can accommodate.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_02]: Kenny, I appreciate you jumping in here and doing this with me today.

- 55:07[SPEAKER_02]: Kenny enjoy the, I guess the weather down there's not as bad as it is in Ohio, but I know it's not that you were hoping for in Florida.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely all enjoy some sunshine, but this is not coming off today.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's, that's too bad.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's, it's always suction to try to go somewhere that's supposed to be warm and it's not.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks, Elineania.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no kidding.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_02]: All right, everybody.
