Former Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba and City Council President Aaron Banks have both pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges just before their trial, admitting to a bribery scheme involving fake developers. District Attorney Jody Owens also pleaded guilty and stepped down, having allegedly taken over $115,000 from undercover agents to help push a development project—passing along more than $80,000 in bribes to the trio.
