- 0:07Speaker 1: Welcome back to Artists on Artists on Artists on artists.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Bang bang boom, zip zip zoop. We're building a house today.
- 0:14Speaker 2: We sat down with four of the five Property Quintuplets,
- 0:20Speaker 2: a very popular HGTV show that takes five quintuplets, puts
- 0:26Speaker 2: them in a house and lets them completely renovate the
- 0:29Speaker 2: entire thing.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Homemakeover television has taken over America since the early two thousands.
- 0:35Speaker 4: So pull up that hammer, take out those nails, and
- 0:38Speaker 4: let's get to work.
- 0:39Speaker 5: Let's listen in this space is amazing.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Wow, Yeah, this is good.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Yeah, this is.
- 0:50Speaker 3: We're gonna have to explain to the listener of what
- 0:52Speaker 3: we're doing in this little covey over here.
- 0:55Speaker 1: You guys will not believe this, but we are actually
- 0:57Speaker 1: on the ground floor. We are in one of the house,
- 1:00Speaker 1: says we are remodeling.
- 1:01Speaker 5: That's true.
- 1:02Speaker 4: We are getting a behind the scenes. Look, this is
- 1:05Speaker 4: a live top of No. No, I'm already hopped up
- 1:09Speaker 4: on all this lead page.
- 1:13Speaker 1: The paint all the time, in the paint again.
- 1:16Speaker 4: By the way, Chippies in the Paint shirts available on
- 1:19Speaker 4: Property quintuplets dot com.
- 1:21Speaker 2: To Republic.
- 1:23Speaker 6: I love the guys at t Republicans are some good guys.
- 1:26Speaker 5: The guys at Society six as well. I don't want to.
- 1:31Speaker 6: Girls are there.
- 1:32Speaker 5: We love the girls at Society.
- 1:34Speaker 1: And guys at Society six.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Really really, can I shut up the non binaries at
- 1:38Speaker 2: Cafe Press.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah you can.
- 1:40Speaker 2: We left.
- 1:41Speaker 4: The days at Cafe Cafe Press and at Red Bubble
- 1:46Speaker 4: are some of my favorite ms in the world.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I'll know we got that settled.
- 1:57Speaker 7: Welcome, Welcome, everybody, Welcome, Welcome. Listen to our home, not
- 2:02Speaker 7: our home per se. We're renovating the home of Jim
- 2:05Speaker 7: and Jack Duffy. They are two brokers from Wisconsin, and
- 2:15Speaker 7: we are in their house today and we are gonna
- 2:17Speaker 7: give them a big surprise.
- 2:19Speaker 2: We're coming here live from Buckle Falls, Wisconsin. We have
- 2:23Speaker 2: been working here for a long time. The property Quintelplets.
- 2:26Speaker 2: If you watch the show, you know exactly what it is.
- 2:28Speaker 2: But the five of us come in. We got five
- 2:30Speaker 2: days to renovate a house. We spend five days turning
- 2:34Speaker 2: it inside out. We all have a specialty to it.
- 2:36Speaker 2: And then we get the couple back in and we
- 2:39Speaker 2: change their lives forever.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe we should go around tell the listeners what
- 2:43Speaker 4: our specialties are.
- 2:45Speaker 5: I'm Chippy.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I do peyt. Hey, hey guys, I'm Jeffrey and I
- 2:50Speaker 1: do relationships and confidence building for the house.
- 2:57Speaker 6: I'm Deborah, I do plumbing, and my name is Cody.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I do the front door.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Now, you guys might notice that one of our brothers,
- 3:06Speaker 1: unfortunately aren't here.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Arnie is the one who normally does the rest of
- 3:14Speaker 4: the house.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yeah, so electrician work, plumbing work.
- 3:17Speaker 5: He comes in.
- 3:20Speaker 3: And he does the rest a lot of the of
- 3:23Speaker 3: the core of the house is our other brother who.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Does the inspection too well, and that's why he's not here.
- 3:28Speaker 2: He is a full time inspector. Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 4: And then and then the network in the city decided
- 3:33Speaker 4: it was a conflict of interest.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:35Speaker 6: He's also so shy.
- 3:37Speaker 3: And that's what's so different because we, I think first
- 3:40Speaker 3: time all of us were in front of a camera,
- 3:42Speaker 3: we just immediately we we let up.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Remember the first time we were in front of our camera.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Our mom, Uh, she brought one home from her work.
- 3:49Speaker 2: She was a camera woman in a multi camp.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, okay, and home it was what was
- 3:59Speaker 4: that to cat?
- 4:00Speaker 5: Mom was on? Was it Frasier?
- 4:01Speaker 1: I think it was. I think it must have been
- 4:03Speaker 1: frasier and I think that was.
- 4:04Speaker 3: One of those big cameras that's like eighty pounds, I
- 4:06Speaker 3: think instead of driving your car.
- 4:11Speaker 5: Well, yeah, because she had those hardnesses, always.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Bolted the driveway. She said, this isn't my Corolla.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Because that's what they don't talk about. It's back then
- 4:25Speaker 3: in the eighties, those sitcom cameras. They they would op
- 4:28Speaker 3: live and they would go from like stage to state.
- 4:32Speaker 1: They're big, they are big and crazy.
- 4:34Speaker 6: Mom was so tired that day, she was in over
- 4:37Speaker 6: her head.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I remember we saw I remember Chippy immediately that's not
- 4:40Speaker 2: the car, and we all ran out. It was so set,
- 4:43Speaker 2: I remember, and we were all looking at this this
- 4:46Speaker 2: this camera, and we were just were obsessed with it.
- 4:48Speaker 2: And a straight dog came by, and we said, we
- 4:49Speaker 2: don't have time for that because.
- 4:51Speaker 5: We were normally we have time for straight dogs. Normally
- 4:56Speaker 5: we'll do some time.
- 4:57Speaker 2: You know, you would know how rare that is. I
- 4:59Speaker 2: would say, there's no and what.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Was even obsessiance straight dogs.
- 5:02Speaker 3: And what was even crazier was here she is driving
- 5:05Speaker 3: this camera home and then she and then we get
- 5:07Speaker 3: in front of it and go, Mom, that's not your car,
- 5:09Speaker 3: and she goes, holy shit, look at you guys on camera,
- 5:11Speaker 3: and that's when we popped.
- 5:12Speaker 6: Yeah, and this camera was on and rolling by the
- 5:15Speaker 6: time she just.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Do you think Mom was kind of relieved that that
- 5:18Speaker 4: we that we sort of did that because I just
- 5:21Speaker 4: feel like, you know, she gave birth to quintuplets.
- 5:23Speaker 5: She did it all on her own, all on.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Her own, single mom equipped quintuplets.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Single momquin tough.
- 5:29Speaker 1: It was tough for her for sure. You know, long
- 5:32Speaker 1: nights at the studio, us kind of taking care of
- 5:34Speaker 1: each other and taking care of ourselves in a big way.
- 5:37Speaker 5: Yeah, huge way.
- 5:38Speaker 6: I think that's why.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I mean I picked up my first plunger because Mom
- 5:41Speaker 3: was pulling a twelve hour day.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Yeah, we all kind of had different jobs that we
- 5:46Speaker 4: had to take each other. We had to take care
- 5:47Speaker 4: of each other.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I fell in love with front doors because I sat
- 5:50Speaker 2: in front of it waiting so long for her to
- 5:52Speaker 2: come back. I began to memorize the grooves, and I
- 5:55Speaker 2: remember thinking, Wow, this is really beautiful. There's something beautiful
- 5:58Speaker 2: about this front door.
- 5:59Speaker 1: The exact same way. It's kind of how I fell
- 6:01Speaker 1: into giving houses confidence. You know, it's a big thing.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah, because I think that's what our show has that
- 6:08Speaker 3: I think a lot of homemakeover shows don't have is
- 6:12Speaker 3: a huge part.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Of what you do. Thank you, no, thank you, It's
- 6:15Speaker 1: it's great. I mean, I just love this team so much,
- 6:18Speaker 1: you know, Arnie included, I feel like we're a really
- 6:20Speaker 1: good team. Yeah, and I'm so glad I can bring
- 6:22Speaker 1: something so special, you know, and something so important that
- 6:25Speaker 1: I don't see a lot of houses receiving. You know,
- 6:27Speaker 1: they'll get these lifts ups, they'll get these makeovers, they'll
- 6:30Speaker 1: get a new awning, but what they're missing fundamentally is
- 6:35Speaker 1: a belief in themselves, you know. So that's what I
- 6:37Speaker 1: really like to do, you know, like go into a
- 6:39Speaker 1: living room and just feel the energy and understand maybe
- 6:43Speaker 1: this house needs to go on a little bit of
- 6:45Speaker 1: like a date with somebody, or maybe this house needs
- 6:48Speaker 1: to remember that it's the mom's trauma.
- 6:51Speaker 2: You know, you've been really working this house that we're
- 6:54Speaker 2: in right now. Oh yeah, the confidence is just through
- 6:57Speaker 2: the base.
- 6:57Speaker 1: You guys can see it. I mean, you guys, you
- 6:59Speaker 1: guys walked in and said you know, usually I'm the
- 7:01Speaker 1: one that senses it, but I could tell all three
- 7:03Speaker 1: of you guys walked in and said, this house needs confidence.
- 7:06Speaker 2: This is a sub This house is an absolute sub
- 7:09Speaker 2: it is. It is not going to be doing anything.
- 7:11Speaker 2: It's probably going to be paying some sort of financial
- 7:14Speaker 2: dominatrix if it wants.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Yeah, wow, wow he needs to taking control of the time.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Absolutely does it does. This house is a pay piggy.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And it's like, it's so obvious.
- 7:23Speaker 6: It's such a pay piggy. And you know that when
- 7:25Speaker 6: you walk in the door.
- 7:26Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 7:26Speaker 6: But I mean, I've seen you do so.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Much to different homes and the confidence. I mean that
- 7:31Speaker 3: one time you taught that townhouse about its inherent ignorance.
- 7:34Speaker 1: That was big. That was really tough.
- 7:36Speaker 2: It was.
- 7:37Speaker 1: It was a rough episode because at the beginning the
- 7:41Speaker 1: townhouse didn't get it. It was defensive and it didn't
- 7:45Speaker 1: want to hear it, see its eyes see it. But
- 7:48Speaker 1: I had to Townhouse. You've got some ignorances, You've got
- 7:51Speaker 1: some history that you don't you're a little afraid to
- 7:54Speaker 1: look at. And once you get past these, we can
- 7:56Speaker 1: start on growth.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and let's talk about you notice that there's change,
- 8:02Speaker 2: because in a house, you know, it's not a living thing.
- 8:05Speaker 2: So how do you notice the house's overcome its ignorance.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Oh, it's easy. It's how they creak. You can always
- 8:12Speaker 1: tell a house's confidence by how they creak.
- 8:15Speaker 4: So would you say newer houses that don't creak, would
- 8:18Speaker 4: you say they're fine?
- 8:19Speaker 5: Mentally?
- 8:20Speaker 1: Sometimes not? Sometimes it's a wall you can tell. You
- 8:23Speaker 1: step in a new house and it goes instead of
- 8:25Speaker 1: our creek, you know, and you know, wow, what is
- 8:28Speaker 1: this wall we have to break down? Yeah, we put
- 8:31Speaker 1: this hard wall. Arm. You let down your armor.
- 8:34Speaker 6: You know, there's nobody like you, brother, there is nobody
- 8:36Speaker 6: like that.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Well, let's get into plumbing. Come on.
- 8:39Speaker 6: Oh thanks, guys.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I you are a whiz at plumbing.
- 8:44Speaker 6: I think it just came easy because Mom was gone.
- 8:49Speaker 3: She was on set at Frasier and our When we
- 8:53Speaker 3: grew up in a little home that was a stink pile.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Okay, let's talk about how discussing that house.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Okay, we grew up but in a disgusting home, and
- 9:01Speaker 3: the pipes were all over the place, and that's when
- 9:04Speaker 3: they first started to fall in love with pipes.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Our house was right next to the garbage. It smelly, smelly,
- 9:10Speaker 1: and most.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Houses are right next to its own respective garbage. But
- 9:13Speaker 4: we lived next to a big pile. Our neighborhood had
- 9:18Speaker 4: a special hoa where they decided that one house per
- 9:22Speaker 4: year they would draw straws and everyone had to put
- 9:25Speaker 4: their garbage in front of that one.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Our house lost every year.
- 9:28Speaker 5: We lost every year.
- 9:29Speaker 1: So that I've been thinking about it, maybe it was rigged.
- 9:31Speaker 5: It feels a little rigged. Looking back, it feels a
- 9:34Speaker 5: little rigged.
- 9:35Speaker 2: More I think about it, it feels rigged.
- 9:37Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, it must be rigged.
- 9:41Speaker 5: That's exactly what I've been thinking.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been thinking it's rigged. They didn't make it
- 9:45Speaker 1: easy for mom, No, no, nobody. They were against her
- 9:48Speaker 1: rather than trying to support her.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, you know, we were working in a working
- 9:51Speaker 2: class neighborhood and they all saw her as a big
- 9:53Speaker 2: hasha working on a TV show. And for us, we
- 9:56Speaker 2: know that the camera people are the ones that are
- 9:58Speaker 2: looked down on in TV. So she is kind of
- 10:01Speaker 2: a woman of no nation.
- 10:02Speaker 3: She's not winning either way. But but that's when I
- 10:08Speaker 3: think all of us just like like put paper to pavement,
- 10:13Speaker 3: you know what they say, and we just put the
- 10:16Speaker 3: pavement paper started, and we just started working and working. Yeah,
- 10:21Speaker 3: I think I'm someone I'm a really like I'm an
- 10:25Speaker 3: emotional person.
- 10:27Speaker 6: You can you see that in our show.
- 10:28Speaker 3: I'm very emotional, and there's something about the way pipes
- 10:32Speaker 3: connect to each other that makes me just go back
- 10:34Speaker 3: to just logic and it takes me out of the emotions, you.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Know what I mean.
- 10:38Speaker 3: And plumbing is such a just like two plus two
- 10:41Speaker 3: egos four. There's no like overthinking it. And that's why
- 10:44Speaker 3: your job is so mysterious to me, because I just
- 10:48Speaker 3: I love the simple things in life. I love figuring
- 10:51Speaker 3: out the way something flushes, the way a garbage disposal
- 10:53Speaker 3: works or it doesn't work, and figuring out the reasons
- 10:56Speaker 3: why I love that, And that's what.
- 10:58Speaker 6: Leads me a lot of joy.
- 10:59Speaker 4: And it's so it's so great to see you when
- 11:02Speaker 4: you talk about plumbing, you come alive because I would
- 11:05Speaker 4: say eighty percent of the like of the rest of
- 11:07Speaker 4: the time, you are crying.
- 11:08Speaker 6: No for sure, for sure and.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Yeah no, I mean all of you.
- 11:15Speaker 3: You have to experience it and no matter what, I
- 11:19Speaker 3: can't stop it from coming. And it will come, you
- 11:21Speaker 3: know what I mean.
- 11:21Speaker 4: But it came in handy at our pitch, I will say.
- 11:24Speaker 4: With HGTV, they absolutely loved it. They we came to them,
- 11:29Speaker 4: and we said, we're five brothers, we have an idea.
- 11:33Speaker 4: And I think they were a little put off by
- 11:36Speaker 4: how intense we were, for sure, and they were ready
- 11:38Speaker 4: to close the.
- 11:39Speaker 5: Door until you brought out the wrong water that beautiful
- 11:42Speaker 5: door that you had.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Well, well, I think our pitch we really opened in
- 11:46Speaker 3: big because we walked through the door of the pitch
- 11:49Speaker 3: and then brought in another door.
- 11:51Speaker 6: Do you want to explain your idea? You really like
- 11:56Speaker 6: we came in with a door.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:58Speaker 2: So people like to say, you know, storyboard it or
- 12:01Speaker 2: come out with a pitch deck. We don't make decks.
- 12:03Speaker 2: We make houses right and so I so sometimes we
- 12:05Speaker 2: will make it deck.
- 12:06Speaker 1: So a lot of people.
- 12:07Speaker 5: So what you don't know is we don't really believe
- 12:09Speaker 5: in decks from a design philosophy.
- 12:11Speaker 2: But we just don't believe in decks. Yeah, we don't
- 12:14Speaker 2: believe in them. You either.
- 12:15Speaker 5: It can't be safe.
- 12:16Speaker 2: I believe in a house and I believe in a yard.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Look, if you're a person that brings up a deck,
- 12:20Speaker 1: don't that's not what you're gonna get with us.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Sure, Patio, the.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Community has tried to cancel me for this. I've been
- 12:26Speaker 2: on I've been on record. I don't believe in decks.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I believe in houses and yards and God and then God.
- 12:31Speaker 2: And I believe God gave us yards, and God gave.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Us houses and they get and God gave us inside
- 12:37Speaker 3: and outside exactly. God didn't give us in between.
- 12:40Speaker 2: No, there is no in between, either your inner or out.
- 12:42Speaker 2: I'm decisive, right. But when it comes to pitching a show,
- 12:47Speaker 2: a lot of people don't know this. I mean the
- 12:49Speaker 2: mysterious process of pitching a show at HGTV, and not
- 12:52Speaker 2: a lot of people know how to do this. But
- 12:54Speaker 2: usually yeah, so you usually for another type of show,
- 12:56Speaker 2: you bring in a pitch deck there. You usually have
- 12:59Speaker 2: to bring in a real that you built or something
- 13:02Speaker 2: you all you have to bring in some sort of
- 13:03Speaker 2: craft and you have to move it in. So when
- 13:06Speaker 2: you know, there's not even a lobby at HGTV, it's
- 13:08Speaker 2: a it's a parking lot full of different trailers of
- 13:11Speaker 2: things that people have made to show that they can
- 13:13Speaker 2: get a show.
- 13:14Speaker 6: Famously started with Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 6: Yeah, and that's when they said we can't have an office.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Yeah we have to, Yeah, we have to have a lot.
- 13:22Speaker 2: It's a giant lot in Industry City and you sit
- 13:25Speaker 2: there and it's so it's just like, you know, I've
- 13:27Speaker 2: done some auditioning in my day too. I had just
- 13:29Speaker 2: for a couple of commercials. It's just like sitting in
- 13:31Speaker 2: a waiting room for a commercial audition where you're sitting
- 13:34Speaker 2: nervously next to you know, fifty five other quaint neplits
- 13:38Speaker 2: who have who have decks and they have houses that
- 13:42Speaker 2: are built just like your.
- 13:44Speaker 3: And they're carrying them with their hands, their hands, and
- 13:46Speaker 3: they're talking to themselves and they're running through their lines
- 13:48Speaker 3: while they're holding the hammer.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Exactly, and everyone's preppy exactly.
- 13:51Speaker 2: So you wait to go in and you're like, oh god,
- 13:53Speaker 2: I hope this one's different for me and for us
- 13:55Speaker 2: it was so Yeah, I built our entire uh story
- 13:59Speaker 2: and our arc and and and because we've been ARC
- 14:01Speaker 2: for our Homegrower TV show. Yeah, yeah arc that the
- 14:05Speaker 2: arc that you pitched was it's amazing and you kind
- 14:07Speaker 2: of came up with it in the room. Yeah. Yeah,
- 14:09Speaker 2: I I overcome hitting my thumb.
- 14:12Speaker 6: With a hammer and from racks to riches.
- 14:15Speaker 2: It's it's incredible. And but I pilled I put it,
- 14:17Speaker 2: I put it all on a door and I and
- 14:19Speaker 2: we brought the door in and I showed the door
- 14:22Speaker 2: and we went step by step.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Beautiful door.
- 14:25Speaker 2: It was ornately painted. I used uh hand carving techniques.
- 14:28Speaker 2: It was a cedar door and it was definitely you
- 14:33Speaker 2: know they they are actually holding on to it now
- 14:35Speaker 2: at a TV they use it for the door to
- 14:38Speaker 2: the kitchen.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Wow. I know, it is incredible.
- 14:41Speaker 3: You know that, it's so fun to think about our
- 14:44Speaker 3: show before we kind of blew up, you know, because
- 14:46Speaker 3: I'm thinking that was before Chippy you even had all
- 14:49Speaker 3: those paint sponsorships, and no, because now you work with
- 14:52Speaker 3: tons of paint companies.
- 14:54Speaker 4: In our episode, yeah, nobody from Black and Decker, nobody
- 14:58Speaker 4: from Bear, nobody was paying attention until I started.
- 15:04Speaker 5: And this is my advice to anybody knew.
- 15:06Speaker 4: You know, if you're trying to make it in paint,
- 15:08Speaker 4: if you're trying to make it in Hollywood, show up
- 15:11Speaker 4: to paint offices, show up to corporate headquarters, and say
- 15:15Speaker 4: I have something to prove. And a lot of times
- 15:18Speaker 4: their follow up question was like, okay, how and and
- 15:22Speaker 4: what do you mean by that? And you have to
- 15:24Speaker 4: have an answer, you know, you have to have something ready.
- 15:27Speaker 4: And what I said is that I'm ready to change
- 15:29Speaker 4: the world. And and they said, can you be more specific?
- 15:33Speaker 4: And I said no, And it was me putting my
- 15:37Speaker 4: foot down and saying, I want to make something bigger.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I want to make something bigger. I want, I want,
- 15:43Speaker 4: I want, I want paint to tell a story. And
- 15:47Speaker 4: eventually I was there for so long that they got
- 15:50Speaker 4: so tired and delirious and they all had to they
- 15:52Speaker 4: all had to eat so bad that they just got
- 15:55Speaker 4: broken down. And they were like, sure, Okay, here's a
- 15:58Speaker 4: shit ton of paint, here's a ship ton of money,
- 16:01Speaker 4: go forth, make history.
- 16:03Speaker 1: And that's what they've been doing. It's really been amazing
- 16:05Speaker 1: your work with paint. I mean even looking at this house,
- 16:08Speaker 1: you've painted it yellow, you've painted it green, you've painted
- 16:12Speaker 1: at black and some paces.
- 16:13Speaker 5: And I believe in more is more.
- 16:15Speaker 2: And I want to say this, Chippy. I mean, no
- 16:18Speaker 2: one's given you the credit. You invented that new type
- 16:21Speaker 2: of paint that changes every three weeks. Yeah, changes color.
- 16:24Speaker 1: It's true, it's unbelievable.
- 16:26Speaker 6: It's believable.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Well, I've been working with incredible scientists over at ge
- 16:32Speaker 4: Ge and Bear got together also with Rice Crispy Treats.
- 16:38Speaker 6: We've food, but these gen zers love this changing paint,
- 16:43Speaker 6: and I've.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Seen them like I love it. They love the changing
- 16:46Speaker 1: paint they painted all over their cereal heard it.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Changes almost as much as their politics.
- 16:51Speaker 1: What do you stand for? Jack? Do you not know exactly?
- 16:58Speaker 5: Those are just like decks.
- 17:01Speaker 2: You're not cheating in my book, you're.
- 17:03Speaker 5: Not cheating the the I will say the I.
- 17:07Speaker 4: I have run into some trouble with the with the
- 17:10Speaker 4: paint that changes color, because we recently did and this
- 17:14Speaker 4: is a secret.
- 17:15Speaker 5: This episode will never air.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Well.
- 17:18Speaker 4: You know when we made that, when we remade that
- 17:19Speaker 4: retirement home that was all of the people ended up
- 17:24Speaker 4: getting very confused.
- 17:25Speaker 5: They said, this isn't what my house looked like.
- 17:28Speaker 6: We didn't know the levels of dementia in that house.
- 17:30Speaker 1: We thought there was just we weren't aware. They didn't.
- 17:33Speaker 5: How would any of us know?
- 17:35Speaker 1: I wouldn't have thought, how should us?
- 17:38Speaker 2: And that is why we brought on Ron, our mental
- 17:40Speaker 2: health professional.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Who audits the people the sixth quintuplet. Technically yeah, technically,
- 17:46Speaker 1: but he is so much older than us.
- 17:48Speaker 2: He does an audit with all of our couples and
- 17:50Speaker 2: all the people that were renovating for to make sure
- 17:52Speaker 2: that they're going to be able to mentally withstand their
- 17:55Speaker 2: house changing.
- 17:57Speaker 3: I couldn't think of a bigger hell than having dementia
- 17:59Speaker 3: and being in an old folks home and that.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Because the change, it doesn't happen rapidly, it's not. It's
- 18:05Speaker 1: it's a slow almost thing. You can see faces, you
- 18:09Speaker 1: can find it's absolutely nightmarish.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Yeah, what our clients love is the unpredictability. It's the
- 18:18Speaker 4: it's the it's it's pain that makes you stop and wonder,
- 18:21Speaker 4: am I going insane? Or what's happening to me?
- 18:25Speaker 5: Am I in my house? Or am I in am
- 18:27Speaker 5: I in a drug trip?
- 18:28Speaker 6: What's going on?
- 18:29Speaker 1: Well, that's exactly a great way of explaining it because
- 18:31Speaker 1: it's not just one color too. It's not going, oh,
- 18:34Speaker 1: I'm changing from a green to yellow. The house starts
- 18:37Speaker 1: taking on a personality of itself. Some areas remain dark colors,
- 18:42Speaker 1: while some areas remain very light, vibrant colors.
- 18:45Speaker 4: It's really interesting and depending on the self confidence of
- 18:48Speaker 4: the house, you can really tell which parts are.
- 18:50Speaker 1: One of my favorite parts is when a house is
- 18:54Speaker 1: a dark mauve and you say the right thing and
- 18:57Speaker 1: you say something like your wood is just your wood,
- 19:01Speaker 1: and the pillars you were built on are just pillars.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Let them go boom. It starts changing into this magical
- 19:09Speaker 1: baby blue, a light violet. It's, it's, it's, it's a
- 19:12Speaker 1: beautiful thing. So thank you, Yeah, thank you guys.
- 19:17Speaker 6: Your wisdom. Brother. I just I think you are no.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Gosh.
- 19:25Speaker 6: I mean, now should we talk. We're coming up. I
- 19:28Speaker 6: think we got this interview because we're coming up on
- 19:30Speaker 6: our one hundredth episode. Yes, ye really excited. We are
- 19:34Speaker 6: headed to the Vatican.
- 19:38Speaker 1: So the Pope called the other day and he said, look,
- 19:42Speaker 1: I need help, and ag yeah, he needs big time,
- 19:45Speaker 1: big time. The church needs a facelift, and so does
- 19:50Speaker 1: the where the church takes place needs a facelift. So
- 19:53Speaker 1: he said, the last time we did it, Michael Angelo
- 19:55Speaker 1: came here and kind of ruined everything. So he let
- 19:58Speaker 1: us jump in there and help him out in the Vatican.
- 20:01Speaker 4: It was, Yeah, it was really exciting because for our
- 20:03Speaker 4: one hundredth episode, we're doing one hundred windows, one hundred doors,
- 20:06Speaker 4: one hundred planks of wood in every single room, one
- 20:09Speaker 4: hundred toilets.
- 20:11Speaker 2: And I want to clear up some rumors that this
- 20:13Speaker 2: was a prank by a teenager that called. We checked
- 20:18Speaker 2: and I said, I need to get on FaceTime with
- 20:22Speaker 2: the Cooper Francesco. I need to see him say this
- 20:26Speaker 2: because I have been prank before.
- 20:28Speaker 3: We called our mental health advisor. Are we tripping on paying?
- 20:34Speaker 1: Absolutely?
- 20:35Speaker 2: So it's and this is real. You know I got
- 20:39Speaker 2: a package. This is real, Pope Francis. I'm telling you,
- 20:42Speaker 2: Pope Francis legitimately wants us there. He has changed the game.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I mean he's talking about homosexuality, he's talking about abortion,
- 20:51Speaker 2: and now he's talking about how shitty a job Michael
- 20:53Speaker 2: Angelo did.
- 20:54Speaker 6: Yeah, he's finally now he wants to go farmhouse.
- 20:58Speaker 5: He wants to go.
- 20:59Speaker 1: He wants to get rid of the big chair and
- 21:02Speaker 1: go farmhouse.
- 21:03Speaker 3: And also let's address also the rumors he does have
- 21:05Speaker 3: a Pinterest account that he did send us.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that we are gray Wood.
- 21:11Speaker 2: It's all in Latin. But not the pictures.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Not the pictures. We can make the pictures. We can't
- 21:14Speaker 5: understand the pictures.
- 21:15Speaker 2: We can't understand the pictures.
- 21:17Speaker 3: We're not touching the ceiling. We're leaving that to its original.
- 21:20Speaker 3: But I mean, this foundation of the home and the
- 21:23Speaker 3: confidence of the home is a mess.
- 21:26Speaker 1: You would not believe the confidence issues that the Vatican has.
- 21:29Speaker 1: You would think, you would think it's very confident, but
- 21:33Speaker 1: it's struggling, and it's been struggling for you.
- 21:35Speaker 2: It's just a reminder to check on your pretty friends,
- 21:36Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 21:38Speaker 1: And this is I would like to bring it up.
- 21:40Speaker 5: Pretty people are suffering.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Into our philanthropy, check on your pretty friends.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, are nonprofit.
- 21:47Speaker 3: I think it's so easy to look at staples in
- 21:51Speaker 3: your community, people who are gorgeous, people who are hot,
- 21:54Speaker 3: and just assume that they're not sad too.
- 21:56Speaker 1: No, It's like something we realized is ugly people get
- 21:59Speaker 1: checked on all all the time.
- 22:00Speaker 4: So we.
- 22:02Speaker 1: We wanted it's simply true. It's just it's simply true.
- 22:07Speaker 1: It's simply true. So we wanted to just make something
- 22:10Speaker 1: that would give a moment for pretty people too.
- 22:13Speaker 4: And in a way, isn't that what we're doing Because
- 22:16Speaker 4: a lot of times, like uh, you know, home renovation
- 22:19Speaker 4: hosts are sent to ugly houses, but we're one of
- 22:23Speaker 4: the only people who are sent to houses that already
- 22:25Speaker 4: look good.
- 22:26Speaker 5: Yes, yes, and we just kind of kind of fun
- 22:29Speaker 5: around with them.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Yes, we went to Pharrell's home in Brentwood and we
- 22:33Speaker 3: tore that thing up and that thing was gorgeous already.
- 22:35Speaker 5: Yeah, we loose it some screws, We tightened some walls.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Yeah, we said this has to fit your personality more so.
- 22:40Speaker 2: We replaced the floor with indoor trampolines everything, And.
- 22:45Speaker 6: Believe it or not, you can heat those trampolines up
- 22:47Speaker 6: if you're cult.
- 22:48Speaker 2: They're heated blanket trampolines and the.
- 22:50Speaker 5: Stove plays happy on a loop forever.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely what it is. He hated it.
- 22:59Speaker 2: There's a lot we can't air. I also want to mention,
- 23:02Speaker 2: you know we talked about pretty people. We say this
- 23:04Speaker 2: because we're pretty people. You know, we're quintuple. This is
- 23:08Speaker 2: technically partially a podcast, so that a lot of people
- 23:11Speaker 2: might not know what we look like. If you don't
- 23:13Speaker 2: watch our show, how donut we describe what our one
- 23:15Speaker 2: look is since we all look exactly Yeah, that sounds great.
- 23:19Speaker 5: I would say huge cheekbones.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Yeah, if you're listening to this, I'm speaking to you
- 23:24Speaker 3: from a huge cheekbone or healthy tonguey tongue.
- 23:28Speaker 2: We've got thick black eyebrows.
- 23:31Speaker 3: And those brows are so symmetrical to each other, and
- 23:34Speaker 3: we don't realize that that gives us a lot of privilege.
- 23:37Speaker 1: We got short on the side, long on the top.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah, you're talking about our hair.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Yea short on side, long on the top and short
- 23:45Speaker 1: on the side, long on the.
- 23:46Speaker 5: Top shows are short of the sidelong at the top.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:51Speaker 3: And we're all, I mean, we're all relatively married to
- 23:53Speaker 3: very pretty people as well.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Exactly we're six eight and we're six eight. All of
- 23:59Speaker 1: us are six eight, which makes.
- 24:00Speaker 4: It challenging to get into basements, small spaces and.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Stuff like that. Well, that's where Arnie comes in.
- 24:05Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, Larnie is short Arnie.
- 24:11Speaker 5: Us Eddie does not look like us.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Well, let's talk about it. Let's let's you know, everybody's
- 24:16Speaker 1: asking constantly for our advice, and this might be a
- 24:18Speaker 1: great time to bring up some advice. So when you
- 24:21Speaker 1: guys walk into a home, what is something that can
- 24:24Speaker 1: help any homeowner, you know, judge up their place. What
- 24:28Speaker 1: are you guys thinking? It could be like Layman's advice,
- 24:30Speaker 1: you know.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, as soon as you're into that front door
- 24:34Speaker 2: and you close it, what's around it?
- 24:36Speaker 1: You?
- 24:36Speaker 2: Did you build one of those little cubby hole places
- 24:39Speaker 2: where people put their shoes and where people hang their coats.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Do you have a little vestibule, or you're getting right
- 24:44Speaker 2: into it. I am obviously a staunch fan of open
- 24:47Speaker 2: the door. I'm in the kitchen, open the door. I'm
- 24:49Speaker 2: in the living room. I want you to be in
- 24:51Speaker 2: the middle. O them out the middleman.
- 24:53Speaker 3: I don't want some When you start a movie, the
- 24:56Speaker 3: movie starts exactly right. You don't start a movie something else.
- 25:00Speaker 2: No, you know when I start for a stump, when
- 25:01Speaker 2: he's on that shrimp boat. Yeah, that's when the movie starts.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Started in the middle of the accial I literally.
- 25:06Speaker 2: I blindly jump forty minutes into every movie, and I
- 25:10Speaker 2: started then because there's so much exposition.
- 25:12Speaker 6: Just get inside the house, tell me what we're doing.
- 25:14Speaker 6: Get in the house. Get off the deck and get
- 25:16Speaker 6: in the house.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Get off the deck, get in the house.
- 25:19Speaker 1: For your advice is to cut out a part of
- 25:20Speaker 1: their house. I love that.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Well, just just blow it out. You know we're opening
- 25:24Speaker 2: the doors. A lot more stuff in your house is
- 25:27Speaker 2: loading load bearing than you think it is.
- 25:29Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, you say that one more time.
- 25:33Speaker 2: If anybody just missed that, A lot more stuff in
- 25:36Speaker 2: your house is load bearing than you think it is.
- 25:38Speaker 4: And you never know until you try rctly. You'll never know,
- 25:41Speaker 4: So you gotta just be bold. Start hanging things on lamps,
- 25:46Speaker 4: Start hanging things all the refrigerators, start hanging things on
- 25:49Speaker 4: your blinds. You're never gonna know unless you try. And
- 25:52Speaker 4: you can't spend your entire life wondering if you can
- 25:57Speaker 4: hang your anvils from places. Holy messy, be.
- 26:02Speaker 6: Brave, That's what I say in the plumbing. Be messy
- 26:06Speaker 6: and be brave.
- 26:10Speaker 2: I don't, to be honest, I don't like that you
- 26:12Speaker 2: say that.
- 26:13Speaker 3: It's I love being back there playing with the pipes
- 26:16Speaker 3: and being like, could we.
- 26:18Speaker 2: See Some of the feedback we've gotten is that, let's
- 26:20Speaker 2: talk about it. Let's talk about it. You are not
- 26:23Speaker 2: a fan of uh hiding pipes. You let the pipes
- 26:26Speaker 2: go everywhere. You are so proud of your plumbing. You
- 26:28Speaker 2: let people see the pipes.
- 26:29Speaker 1: And you also use clear pipes. That's a big part
- 26:32Speaker 1: of what you like to do.
- 26:33Speaker 6: Well, we did that.
- 26:34Speaker 3: We did that for a while, and it's it's like,
- 26:37Speaker 3: it's also a huge topic of conversation that each house
- 26:40Speaker 3: has a mind of its own. Some people don't want
- 26:44Speaker 3: to see inside the pipe, and some people do, and
- 26:46Speaker 3: what about those people?
- 26:47Speaker 2: Right?
- 26:48Speaker 3: So it's fun to experiment with that, it's really fun
- 26:51Speaker 3: to experiment with visibility in the plumbing parts of your house.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Why do we hide that?
- 26:57Speaker 3: Why can we not talk about how the house is
- 27:00Speaker 3: actually running. What's what's crazy to me is that I
- 27:03Speaker 3: can turn the sink off. Where did the water go?
- 27:06Speaker 1: Don't you know that you're a plumber, yes, but I think.
- 27:09Speaker 3: A layman is what we're talking about. It's good to
- 27:12Speaker 3: just know that the water went somewhere right and you're
- 27:15Speaker 3: gonna get it back. It's peace of mind, it's pace
- 27:17Speaker 3: of mind. It's be messy, be brave, and just have
- 27:20Speaker 3: that piece of mind that the house works. Let's see it.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Let's see it work.
- 27:24Speaker 1: You know what I mean. That's great. Yeah, that is
- 27:27Speaker 1: feedback we've gotten though, is people do walk into the
- 27:29Speaker 1: bathroom and they go it is messy, and I feel
- 27:32Speaker 1: like I have to be brave in here. But you
- 27:34Speaker 1: take that as a compliment and I love that about you.
- 27:36Speaker 3: When you get my brother Chippy in here painting the
- 27:39Speaker 3: orange and the messy turns into brave, when the orange
- 27:42Speaker 3: goes into polka dot purple.
- 27:44Speaker 5: Yeah, wow.
- 27:45Speaker 4: It's what I would say is really fun about the
- 27:47Speaker 4: new paint that we're developing over it ge is.
- 27:49Speaker 5: That we can write secret and pair. Of course, I
- 27:52Speaker 5: don't want to leave out.
- 27:53Speaker 4: The good people in Bear forget Rice Crispies, Rice Crispies Incorporated. Yeah,
- 27:59Speaker 4: like we are able to hide messages in the walls
- 28:02Speaker 4: for the home voters to finally, Wow, what.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Are some of the messages you guys have been You
- 28:07Speaker 1: guys are able to do that. What a wonderful feature.
- 28:11Speaker 1: The science is finally gotten crazy.
- 28:15Speaker 4: It's really awesome because it's like, you know, we're only
- 28:19Speaker 4: here for a week, and when that episode ends, we
- 28:22Speaker 4: want something lasting. So once we've left the house, we
- 28:26Speaker 4: have at time so that the paint will read goodbye,
- 28:29Speaker 4: or we miss you, or we're watching We're always with
- 28:33Speaker 4: you and.
- 28:35Speaker 5: Things like that. We have gotten some feedback that it's
- 28:38Speaker 5: driven people to question reality.
- 28:42Speaker 1: It has scared some kids.
- 28:44Speaker 2: That's not on us.
- 28:45Speaker 1: That is again on Ron because Ron should have checked that.
- 28:48Speaker 5: Ye, he should have checked. And also there's therapy available everywhere.
- 28:53Speaker 4: So I I really like, it's kind of none of
- 28:56Speaker 4: my Businessfore.
- 28:57Speaker 3: We put messages secret messages in the house. We should
- 29:00Speaker 3: know the stability of the client, and that.
- 29:02Speaker 5: Is on us, of course.
- 29:03Speaker 4: And I will say my Layman's tip to if any
- 29:08Speaker 4: of you out there are just starting to do some
- 29:09Speaker 4: DIY product, paint the carpet.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Oh I love that. I love that.
- 29:15Speaker 6: I love It's an easy tip for anybody.
- 29:17Speaker 5: That's an easy, easy to upgrade place.
- 29:22Speaker 1: The carp is. Just paint the carpet and messy.
- 29:26Speaker 6: Be brave. Try it.
- 29:27Speaker 5: You'll never know until you try.
- 29:29Speaker 2: The carpet and see how it feels.
- 29:31Speaker 6: To see how it feels.
- 29:32Speaker 3: That works for single mothers, that works for people living
- 29:34Speaker 3: in an apartment, It works for married mothers, it does, works.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Great for frat bros.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Absolutely, just try it.
- 29:42Speaker 2: One question I'm always getting is do you guys really
- 29:45Speaker 2: do all that in five days? Yes?
- 29:48Speaker 1: Yes, we do, yes, Oh we.
- 29:50Speaker 6: Have we have teams that come with us.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Sure we have. I mean I have to talk about yeh.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Let's talk about our team.
- 29:58Speaker 5: I guess we have well, or we have people who
- 30:01Speaker 5: helpen a production standpoint.
- 30:02Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we have people who drive us there.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Sure sure, yeah, Because we should address the rumors that
- 30:09Speaker 3: there's no way you all can do that by yourselves.
- 30:11Speaker 1: In five days.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and we do, but we do. We do.
- 30:16Speaker 1: We have teams, but we do, we have we have.
- 30:21Speaker 5: Wrong well, and we have a guy who holds the nails.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Look, look, it's not eating the house exactly. And look
- 30:30Speaker 1: the truth is if I need to take a house
- 30:32Speaker 1: roller skating so it can build its confidence back, yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna need a team help me.
- 30:37Speaker 5: With heavy it's a heavy home.
- 30:39Speaker 6: And I mean sometimes you have a lot of carpet
- 30:41Speaker 6: in there. Sometimes you need a couple of hands.
- 30:44Speaker 1: But we're not using eighty days. We're not using I
- 30:48Speaker 1: means we need a little bit of help.
- 30:50Speaker 2: You know what we do most of it.
- 30:51Speaker 4: If you had five days, you can do anything in
- 30:54Speaker 4: five days if you apply yourself.
- 30:56Speaker 5: I'm sorry people don't want to work down.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Front doors are my passion. I build front doors, okay
- 31:03Speaker 2: in five days. Do I have technically a team of
- 31:06Speaker 2: people who design and build the door. Yes.
- 31:10Speaker 4: I also want to say congratulations, you built the most
- 31:12Speaker 4: terrifying corn maze I've ever seen, because for that Halloween
- 31:16Speaker 4: episode we.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Did it was so fun when we tore that person's
- 31:19Speaker 1: house down and made it the corn maze, and the gordon.
- 31:22Speaker 4: Was all doors and the doors led to other doors.
- 31:25Speaker 4: And I went through that thing and I could not
- 31:27Speaker 4: find my way out for eight hours.
- 31:29Speaker 6: And you didn't have dementia.
- 31:31Speaker 2: No, we've checked.
- 31:32Speaker 1: We get daily checked checks. Well, we have a fun thing.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Ron brings a test every day for us, ten questions
- 31:39Speaker 1: and depending on how we fill out the questions, he says,
- 31:41Speaker 1: you can go out or you have to stay behind
- 31:43Speaker 1: doors today.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Right exactly, we're all hanging out and our we all
- 31:46Speaker 2: live together. We hang out in the little playroom we share,
- 31:50Speaker 2: and then Ron comes in. He says, I have a fun.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Game for us. The fun thing is if you answer
- 31:54Speaker 1: five or less, you can't go outside. But also if
- 31:57Speaker 1: you answer ten perfectly, you've gone psychotic and you can't
- 32:00Speaker 1: go outside too. And so the sweet spot is six
- 32:02Speaker 1: through nine.
- 32:03Speaker 6: Yeah, something we put on ourselves. No one's doing that
- 32:05Speaker 6: to us.
- 32:06Speaker 3: It's not like we asked for The network isn't doing
- 32:09Speaker 3: that The network is Actually.
- 32:12Speaker 5: No, we said it's in our writer. We have to
- 32:14Speaker 5: say the playpen. That's where we feel safe.
- 32:15Speaker 6: If anything, the network's a little scared of us.
- 32:17Speaker 1: So they're actually, which is fun? You Actually this is
- 32:20Speaker 1: part of the house, but we brought in our playpen.
- 32:21Speaker 1: This is actually the wall of the playpen. If you
- 32:24Speaker 1: can see here, if.
- 32:25Speaker 4: You could see, yeah, it's a white wall. It's sort
- 32:27Speaker 4: of meant to call the braid and set everything back
- 32:29Speaker 4: to zero.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Yeah, we call it our neutral mother.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, So I guess my advice would be, I
- 32:39Speaker 1: give your house a hug. Whatever you're feeling, if you're
- 32:43Speaker 1: if you're at odds through your house, if you're feeling,
- 32:46Speaker 1: you gotta embrace. You've got to start the trauma dumping somewhere.
- 32:50Speaker 5: Which part of the house is best to hug?
- 32:52Speaker 1: Would you say, oh, there's so many in Every house
- 32:55Speaker 1: is different, but a sink is a place to hug.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Which part the faucet or the the just the generalized
- 33:02Speaker 1: you want to get in that base. If you can
- 33:04Speaker 1: open the cupboards underneath and give that house a hug,
- 33:07Speaker 1: I think.
- 33:08Speaker 6: He's doing a lot of work.
- 33:10Speaker 2: I mean, if you really look at the bottom of
- 33:11Speaker 2: a sink, it does look like a cow's udder.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Yeah you know. But also the top of the sink
- 33:17Speaker 1: is the faucet where the house cries, you know, So
- 33:19Speaker 1: you if you're running your sink too much, your house
- 33:22Speaker 1: is bawling its eyes out, which is not bad. I
- 33:24Speaker 1: don't want to say crying is bad, No, it's not, because.
- 33:27Speaker 6: We all do it and sometimes it comes in waves.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Do you want to address the show that just got canceled.
- 33:34Speaker 2: You and Karama, we're going to do together.
- 33:37Speaker 6: Let's talk about collapse.
- 33:38Speaker 1: It's good. It would be a good time to bring
- 33:40Speaker 1: it up. Me and Karama from Queer Eye. We're going
- 33:42Speaker 1: to do a great show, Karamo. Think me and Karamo
- 33:48Speaker 1: were about to do it.
- 33:49Speaker 5: I'm wondering this was part of why it fell apart
- 33:52Speaker 5: who he was.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I forgot who he was. I didn't really know his name,
- 33:56Speaker 1: and we we're both I really was trying to push.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I was really trying to push a couple of times.
- 34:04Speaker 5: He really tried to make it work with you. He
- 34:06Speaker 5: really did, and I.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Try to make it work with him. But it's just
- 34:09Speaker 1: a difference of opinions of how things should work. I
- 34:11Speaker 1: wanted to make I Karama the handle the fun thing,
- 34:14Speaker 1: and also I'm trying to get my karma Karama. Turns
- 34:17Speaker 1: out that's not his name, and he did not like that.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Karama Camellia and you call him, Yeah, I said.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Karama, Karama, Karama, Karama, Karama Kamelle. Uh. We don't do
- 34:26Speaker 1: it anymore though, Okay, yeah, sure, but yeah, it kind
- 34:29Speaker 1: of fell through. We're still trying to work out the contracts.
- 34:32Speaker 1: But what we were going to do is get bad
- 34:35Speaker 1: straight men into bad straight houses and see if they
- 34:38Speaker 1: could come together and learn from each other. It was
- 34:41Speaker 1: gonna be a really fun mashup thing. It's just it's
- 34:45Speaker 1: just straight man in a shitty house.
- 34:49Speaker 6: It's exposing America.
- 34:53Speaker 1: That was the idea. That was the idea.
- 34:55Speaker 5: Was that called a good straight Man Bad House?
- 34:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it was called straight man bad house. Where we
- 35:01Speaker 1: were going to get a bad straight man and a
- 35:03Speaker 1: bad house, a bad straight house, put them together and
- 35:06Speaker 1: see if we could build them back to gas.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Sometimes it right, yeah, Sometimes you know, you multiply two
- 35:12Speaker 4: negatives and.
- 35:13Speaker 1: There's a you know, like because of this like kind
- 35:16Speaker 1: of system online and because nobody wants to get to
- 35:18Speaker 1: work anymore, men are struggling and men houses are struggling too,
- 35:22Speaker 1: so it's time to rebuild a little bit of that
- 35:24Speaker 1: masculine energy, that positive masculinity, you know. So it completely
- 35:29Speaker 1: fell through and it didn't work at all. The first
- 35:31Speaker 1: episode was a disaster.
- 35:34Speaker 5: Do you and Corrambo still talk?
- 35:35Speaker 4: No?
- 35:36Speaker 1: No, I email him all the catchphrases every once in
- 35:39Speaker 1: a while, just like go see if there's.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Anything I worry that I was too crazy at our
- 35:45Speaker 2: dinner when he came over.
- 35:48Speaker 3: While we're a little you guys were all a little wild,
- 35:52Speaker 3: I will say that was well.
- 35:54Speaker 5: We were just having so much fun. We were so
- 35:57Speaker 5: excited to meet Karate big.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Bug that day.
- 36:00Speaker 6: We found that bug was the biggest bug, and it
- 36:06Speaker 6: was on our off day and it.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Was like it was like two or three inches big.
- 36:10Speaker 4: And Caromo just wasn't interested. And I'm sorry, sometimes you
- 36:13Speaker 4: just get the zoobies. We're in the playbed all day.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Line. It was mac and cheese night, remember, And I
- 36:18Speaker 1: posted on Facebook.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Nothing like finding a big bug on your off day.
- 36:21Speaker 1: He didn't even like it, and you.
- 36:25Speaker 5: Untagged himself.
- 36:26Speaker 6: We couldn't wait to show who.
- 36:29Speaker 5: Untags themselves from a hilarious Facebook status.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Who does?
- 36:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:33Speaker 5: I don't want to speak bad about a good.
- 36:35Speaker 1: It's all good, but yeah, he it was just a
- 36:37Speaker 1: difference of personalities.
- 36:39Speaker 3: Other collapse that are really successful. I mean you and
- 36:42Speaker 3: Crocs indoors, Yeah.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Me and Crocs indoors.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Doors.
- 36:49Speaker 6: The line of doors door crocs, door door crocks.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Sorry, yeah, so these are crocks that you can wear exclusively.
- 36:55Speaker 2: When we were crossing through a door, so they.
- 37:00Speaker 5: They existed the negative space outside of the slipper.
- 37:03Speaker 1: That you know you're taking off.
- 37:06Speaker 2: They have they have hooks in them so you can
- 37:10Speaker 2: hook them on the door and we were walking through.
- 37:12Speaker 2: If you don't want to get any dirt in the doorway,
- 37:14Speaker 2: you can use these crops. That's and it's really fun.
- 37:17Speaker 2: We made so fun. They made amount of woods. A
- 37:20Speaker 2: lot of people are saying they're just clogs, and I said, no,
- 37:22Speaker 2: they're wooden crocs, And that's awesome for Crocs exactly. It's
- 37:26Speaker 2: awesome for Crocs. I think Crocs is like loves me,
- 37:30Speaker 2: like wants me at all their events.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Because when they came over night, we hit it off.
- 37:36Speaker 2: We were like, we were having so much fun. We
- 37:39Speaker 2: were playing we were playing telephone for like six hours.
- 37:43Speaker 6: Yah, it was like five pr people with cross.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Remember it drank so many hard and Ron came and
- 37:49Speaker 2: he said, guys, it's four in the morning.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Yeah. But it was so crazy because you said the
- 37:53Speaker 1: first line you said was like the bananas in the hammock,
- 37:56Speaker 1: and by the end it was the bananas in the bana.
- 38:00Speaker 1: It was crazy and that's not even a word you guys,
- 38:03Speaker 1: I still can't, but I always in your ear, the
- 38:06Speaker 1: bananas in the hammock. I was like, what is going on?
- 38:10Speaker 1: We were like, it's not a word? What do you
- 38:12Speaker 1: What was the beginning of this?
- 38:15Speaker 5: I mean that night killed me.
- 38:18Speaker 1: And Crocs is there for it. They loved it.
- 38:20Speaker 2: I'm getting I'm getting to wave from our brand rep.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Oh it's yeah HGTV. Oh yeah, eight pm on Sundays
- 38:28Speaker 2: and starting in I think it's May twenty twenty three,
- 38:33Speaker 2: they're gonna give.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Us four full hours. Wow. Yeah, every Sunday.
- 38:38Speaker 5: We're really excited about that.
- 38:39Speaker 6: A half hour.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:40Speaker 4: The fourth hour is when we take houses and we
- 38:42Speaker 4: turn them upside down and see if they still work.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Absolutely, It's so fun. It's kind of a betting game.
- 38:48Speaker 1: People bring their houses, betting that they're gonna work if
- 38:50Speaker 1: they turn them upside down, and when they don't, they lose.
- 38:53Speaker 1: If they win, they have their house upside down.
- 38:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Show the fun side of a mud slide. Right, We're
- 38:59Speaker 3: gonna show how fun it could be if a home goes.
- 39:02Speaker 5: Down, right, it'll be we're in bad with the mudslide industry.
- 39:05Speaker 4: It's sort of This show is a syop to prepare
- 39:08Speaker 4: people for when their houses flip upside down by budslide,
- 39:11Speaker 4: so that.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Is another show, so we should be clear, and we
- 39:14Speaker 2: quickly just talked about the shows we have.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Of course the property Quinn Toplets, yes, where we're.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Renovating shows and and finding new shows, any houses, finding
- 39:22Speaker 2: new houses. And then of course we have Flip Flop
- 39:26Speaker 2: Flip Flop Flip Flop, Yeah, I came up with that name.
- 39:30Speaker 2: And then we have the fun side of the mud Slide.
- 39:33Speaker 6: Fun Slide of the Mudslide is a passion project.
- 39:36Speaker 3: I think it's just it's gonna be so fun when
- 39:38Speaker 3: we get on those those inflatables and we slide on
- 39:42Speaker 3: the mudslide.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Yeah. Well that's kind of your partnership too, because it
- 39:45Speaker 1: was kind of like the plumbing idea and a mud
- 39:47Speaker 1: slide idea. It felt like ballparks. So we just thought
- 39:50Speaker 1: that's great chemistry. We'll see what happens.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think I have always it's it's crazy
- 39:56Speaker 3: to like be on TV for one thing and one
- 39:58Speaker 3: thing only, right, I known as plumbing, but I also
- 40:01Speaker 3: have a huge passion.
- 40:02Speaker 1: For mud and I and it's and it's like you're
- 40:06Speaker 1: in the mud all the time.
- 40:08Speaker 6: I love mud. And that's how you found me when
- 40:09Speaker 6: you found that big bug I was outside.
- 40:11Speaker 4: Of the mud.
- 40:12Speaker 5: I'm so glad you were there to find that big
- 40:15Speaker 5: bug because well.
- 40:16Speaker 3: That's what I love about mud is that we can
- 40:18Speaker 3: find so much stuff in there and so much I
- 40:21Speaker 3: love how playful it is.
- 40:23Speaker 6: Sometimes you almost hear mud laugh when you're playing with it.
- 40:27Speaker 6: It feels.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I love mud.
- 40:29Speaker 3: And I also think that like Americans are just so like, oh,
- 40:33Speaker 3: mud is just unsafe, and I don't think so.
- 40:36Speaker 6: I think mud is pushed to the side because it's
- 40:39Speaker 6: not as.
- 40:39Speaker 5: Pretty as water.
- 40:40Speaker 2: We got to stigmatize mud.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Yeah, because water is gorgeous. We need water, but what
- 40:44Speaker 3: it makes mud water.
- 40:46Speaker 5: We're too sanitized in this country.
- 40:48Speaker 4: We are getting down into what mother nature is offering us,
- 40:52Speaker 4: which is, you know, it's the things that are real,
- 40:56Speaker 4: it's the things you could touch.
- 40:58Speaker 1: So we have those three shows and that's like a yeah,
- 41:00Speaker 1: because you actually have a brand collab with toothpaste, right,
- 41:04Speaker 1: I do.
- 41:06Speaker 5: It's so you know, as a human you can go
- 41:09Speaker 5: to the dentist.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Right.
- 41:11Speaker 4: But yeah, but if you're preach, preach, and I'm not
- 41:18Speaker 4: afraid to say it, but if you're a wall, no
- 41:22Speaker 4: one is sending you a postcard in the mail every
- 41:24Speaker 4: six months saying that you should come get a checkout.
- 41:26Speaker 5: No one is looking out for you. So what I've
- 41:29Speaker 5: started doing is these sort.
- 41:30Speaker 4: Of televised star studded specials where we we we've developed
- 41:36Speaker 4: a toothpaste to to brush your walls teeth.
- 41:40Speaker 5: And by teeth, I mean bricks and it. We've gotten
- 41:44Speaker 5: great people.
- 41:46Speaker 4: We've gotten Carrie Underwood, we've got Clay Aiken, and we've
- 41:52Speaker 4: got Ruben all American Idol alums, and we've gotten together
- 41:57Speaker 4: this amazing song. It's super care and I don't want
- 42:01Speaker 4: to spoil it, but well there's okay, I'll drop half
- 42:07Speaker 4: of the chorus, so it kind of goes, we are
- 42:11Speaker 4: the teeth teeth of the building. We are the teeth
- 42:17Speaker 4: that are in the walls. We get brushed all day
- 42:20Speaker 4: and then that's the rest.
- 42:25Speaker 1: That's the rest of the.
- 42:28Speaker 6: Rest of the song.
- 42:33Speaker 5: Well, I didn't because I you wouldn't.
- 42:36Speaker 6: You haven't.
- 42:36Speaker 5: You still haven't heard it over and over and over again.
- 42:46Speaker 1: The song, But you haven't.
- 42:49Speaker 4: I haven't spoiled it because you have to hear carry
- 42:51Speaker 4: and Clay do it. Yeah, he does, well, he does
- 42:56Speaker 4: the first part.
- 42:57Speaker 1: He and then the rest rest the rest.
- 43:03Speaker 2: I understand why he did. Maybe you want to reveal
- 43:05Speaker 2: it because it is exactly the tune.
- 43:06Speaker 5: Of yeah, I'm just to say I'm not really hearing
- 43:11Speaker 5: that you're not.
- 43:13Speaker 4: No, I mean I guess the I mean sure, I
- 43:16Speaker 4: guess I was influenced by it.
- 43:21Speaker 1: That sounds a little different. That didn't.
- 43:24Speaker 6: No, no, no, don't why I feel like you don't
- 43:30Speaker 6: like me because I deal with pipes.
- 43:33Speaker 5: Look exposed, pipe exposed. Look look there we go the
- 43:39Speaker 5: way the hell?
- 43:41Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah we could all right, guys, well it sounds
- 43:49Speaker 1: like nap time is along.
- 43:51Speaker 2: I want to give some advice to any anybody out
- 43:53Speaker 2: there who's looking to work with a twin just before
- 43:56Speaker 2: we head out, because working with.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Q yeah yeah together.
- 43:59Speaker 6: No, of course this is really important because we're we're homemakers. Second,
- 44:03Speaker 6: but twins.
- 44:04Speaker 5: First, always, always.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Always tuplets first. I mean we're always you know, we
- 44:09Speaker 2: use twin as a blanket term because it's easier to understand.
- 44:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, it's just hard. It has a better
- 44:14Speaker 5: mouthfeel like quintuplets quit using.
- 44:17Speaker 1: And we've been fighting for a change for years now,
- 44:19Speaker 1: and it just doesn't look We've been trying to change
- 44:21Speaker 1: the legislation to legislation.
- 44:24Speaker 2: We've been trying to change the legislation to make it
- 44:27Speaker 2: so that quintuplets is less.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Hard to say. Yeah, legislation is a very specific part
- 44:31Speaker 1: of the government where you combine legislation and illustration.
- 44:35Speaker 3: You try to draw illustration of the language and the legislation.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Of the laws that come together pictures of legislation.
- 44:42Speaker 4: It's a great sector of the government where you can
- 44:43Speaker 4: kind of walk into the building and go, what's the
- 44:45Speaker 4: deal with this, and then.
- 44:46Speaker 5: They fix it.
- 44:47Speaker 2: You give them a drawing and they say we're on it.
- 44:50Speaker 1: So yeah, So as as twins, let's give some advice. Yeah,
- 44:56Speaker 1: I guess the elephant in the room. Never kiss romantic. Yeah,
- 45:00Speaker 1: never romantically. We've run into that before and it's just
- 45:05Speaker 1: something to avoid.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say, uh, don't rely on that twin pathway.
- 45:12Speaker 2: A lot of people think, oh, twins, twins know how
- 45:14Speaker 2: to complete each other sentences and stuff like that.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Don't rely on it.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Don't rely on it.
- 45:19Speaker 1: It'll get you in trouble.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Especially when it comes to television production. It's not as
- 45:22Speaker 2: strong as you think.
- 45:24Speaker 1: How many takes, how many takes.
- 45:25Speaker 3: We have to do, especially when it comes to rolling
- 45:27Speaker 3: the dice on what's load bearing and what isn't exactly.
- 45:30Speaker 6: It's cool.
- 45:31Speaker 5: We we're pretty good at rock paper scissors. We can
- 45:34Speaker 5: usually a monopoly when it.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Comes to Oh, we'll just rely on our twin to
- 45:38Speaker 2: lepathy to not do a pre pro meeting. Yeah, it's
- 45:41Speaker 2: not going to work.
- 45:41Speaker 5: We don't do call sheets, we do intuition. It just
- 45:45Speaker 5: won't doesn't work.
- 45:45Speaker 6: You'll be at different places at a different time.
- 45:47Speaker 1: You need sheets.
- 45:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:49Speaker 1: I really thought it was gonna work because we email
- 45:51Speaker 1: ron emails us intuition time and we all close our eyes.
- 45:55Speaker 1: I'm just hoping that we got got it. But I
- 45:57Speaker 1: guess it's just doesn't work sometime.
- 45:59Speaker 5: I advice to twins would be paint the sink.
- 46:06Speaker 1: That's your advice to twins.
- 46:07Speaker 5: My advice to twins embrace whimsy, paint the sink.
- 46:11Speaker 6: I love that.
- 46:12Speaker 3: I think my advice to twins is always find something
- 46:16Speaker 3: that makes you you. And that's what I love about
- 46:20Speaker 3: our show. I love about our lifestyle is nothing different.
