- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are last break of the day.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's been a good day. Thanks to our audience as
- 0:05Speaker 1: well for listening every single day for all these years.
- 0:09Speaker 1: We appreciate you.
- 0:11Speaker 2: S Yeah, hey, I was up. I was gonna share
- 0:14Speaker 2: with y'all a little while ago a great father moment
- 0:17Speaker 2: that I had my youngest son Winter. We're out of
- 0:21Speaker 2: town and we're getting ready for this gala. One of
- 0:24Speaker 2: his friends is going to the gala too, in his
- 0:27Speaker 2: former so he had a tux cedo shirt and a tie,
- 0:36Speaker 2: and I guess Winton was trying to help him tie
- 0:39Speaker 2: to tie to tide but it wasn't working. So I
- 0:43Speaker 2: get a call, he said, Dad. He said, hey, man,
- 0:47Speaker 2: I got a problem. I'm trying to help Sean get
- 0:51Speaker 2: his tie tie. He said. He got one of them
- 0:55Speaker 2: tuck Ciito shirts that that that that ain't got no
- 1:00Speaker 2: collar on it, but I'm trying to put a toie
- 1:02Speaker 2: on it and it ain't working. And so I had
- 1:05Speaker 2: to get an understanding from I said, a tuxedo shirt
- 1:08Speaker 2: without no I said, you mean a wing tip, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:11Speaker 2: a wing tip. And then the dude he was he
- 1:14Speaker 2: had me on speaker and the young dude said man,
- 1:18Speaker 2: how he know that? And then he said, so, Dad,
- 1:21Speaker 2: what I'm trying to do is I'm trying to tie
- 1:23Speaker 2: the tie, but I can't get the right. I can't
- 1:26Speaker 2: get to not right because it's all one side is
- 1:29Speaker 2: slant it. I said, son, you're trying to tie a
- 1:31Speaker 2: bow tie. He said, man, can I bring him to
- 1:34Speaker 2: your room and you do it? I said, hold on, man, yeah,
- 1:36Speaker 2: I could do it, but let me you trying to No,
- 1:38Speaker 2: it ain't a bow tie, it's a regular tie. I said,
- 1:41Speaker 2: you're trying to put a tie on with a wing
- 1:43Speaker 2: tip shirt. He said yeah, but I can't get to
- 1:46Speaker 2: knot even as slant it. I said, son, you got
- 1:49Speaker 2: to tie a double windsor not. So the dude, now,
- 1:54Speaker 2: Sean is thirty Winton's twenty eight. Sean said, I don't
- 1:59Speaker 2: even know what that is, but that sound right. So
- 2:05Speaker 2: a double windsor is when you tie the tie one time,
- 2:08Speaker 2: that's a single windsor not. When you wrap it around twice,
- 2:11Speaker 2: it becomes a double windsor and then becomes more in
- 2:14Speaker 2: the shape of a of a W. It is wider.
- 2:18Speaker 2: If you tie a single slot, it m looks more
- 2:21Speaker 2: like a V. So that's to give you how and
- 2:25Speaker 2: he tied it and it worked. He said, man, that
- 2:29Speaker 2: must be cool to have a father like that. Now
- 2:32Speaker 2: he thought he had taken me off speaker, but he didn't,
- 2:36Speaker 2: and they thought they had hung up. So I'm finished
- 2:38Speaker 2: getting dressed, and he said, man, it must be cool
- 2:41Speaker 2: to have a dad like that. I ain't never had that.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Winton said to him, hey, man, I have never ever
- 2:48Speaker 2: called my father in my life. And he told me
- 2:53Speaker 2: he ain't had no answer for me. He said, man,
- 2:56Speaker 2: whenever I can, when I get some and I can't,
- 2:58Speaker 2: I don't care what it is, man, he has never
- 3:01Speaker 2: told me. He didn't answer at ain't no go figure
- 3:04Speaker 2: it out. My dad always has an answer. And hung
- 3:08Speaker 2: the phone up.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Man.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I got emotional because I said, Wow, that's really really
- 3:13Speaker 2: cool man, that you can raise a son to feel
- 3:17Speaker 2: that way about you. You know what I'm saying. And
- 3:19Speaker 2: that was just a cool fatherhood moment because he was
- 3:22Speaker 2: telling another dude, I ain't never call this man, and
- 3:26Speaker 2: he told me he ain't had no answer. He said, man,
- 3:28Speaker 2: my dad figured anything out.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Man.
- 3:30Speaker 2: He said, that's my dude. And I hung the phone
- 3:33Speaker 2: up because I ain't know what else he was gonna say,
- 3:36Speaker 2: and I ain't feel like crying because I'm trying to
- 3:38Speaker 2: get ready to go to this show. So I just
- 3:40Speaker 2: had a real fatherhood moment, man. So I'm saying that
- 3:43Speaker 2: to say that all the men out there as being
- 3:45Speaker 2: fathers to their daughters, to they sons, and man, keep
- 3:50Speaker 2: up the good work, brothers, because you don't know it.
- 3:54Speaker 2: But I bet you, madam, I bet you, man, when
- 3:58Speaker 2: you ain't around man that remember some words that you said,
- 4:01Speaker 2: I bet you when they ain't around, man, they're remembering
- 4:04Speaker 2: some lessons that you taught them, or some advice that
- 4:08Speaker 2: you gave them. I bet you somewhere man, when they
- 4:12Speaker 2: get the chance to talk about what you mean to
- 4:15Speaker 2: them to their friends that they probably doing it. You
- 4:18Speaker 2: may never get a chance to hear it. For me
- 4:20Speaker 2: to hear it was like a real blessing, man, it
- 4:22Speaker 2: was just like it just happened the other day. So, man,
- 4:27Speaker 2: I just wanted to say to all the men out
- 4:28Speaker 2: there as being fathers, man, keep doing what you're doing.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Keep doing what you're doing. I know it seems sometimes
- 4:36Speaker 2: like they ain't listening. I know it seems like they
- 4:39Speaker 2: seem to be taking you for granted, but it's not
- 4:43Speaker 2: always the case. Now, I will say this though, I
- 4:48Speaker 2: was talking to a group of men that I went
- 4:50Speaker 2: to college with. We've been friends now since nineteen seventy four,
- 4:54Speaker 2: this group that I still run when it's fifteen of us,
- 5:00Speaker 2: all of us are frat brothers, were all pledged at
- 5:03Speaker 2: one point in time with each other, all of us,
- 5:07Speaker 2: and so we have a special bond. But after talking
- 5:12Speaker 2: with these men who are now some of them in
- 5:15Speaker 2: their seventies, some of them really close to seventy, like
- 5:18Speaker 2: I'm sixty nine. Right, here's the one thing I want
- 5:22Speaker 2: to say to people out there. Most men will leave
- 5:27Speaker 2: this world underappreciated. Most men will die and never get
- 5:36Speaker 2: the flowers. Most men will get up out of here
- 5:41Speaker 2: and not really know what they meant to the family.
- 5:46Speaker 2: If you can, I'm just talking to men. Women deserve
- 5:50Speaker 2: everything they getting in more, right, But I'm just talking
- 5:53Speaker 2: about men right now. If you got a man in
- 5:56Speaker 2: your life just being a good father, If you got
- 5:58Speaker 2: a man in your life just being a good man.
- 6:00Speaker 2: If you got a good man in your life, that's
- 6:02Speaker 2: being a good husband, tell him you appreciate it, tell
- 6:06Speaker 2: him you proud of it, Tell him thank you. Because
- 6:09Speaker 2: a lot of men are out there feeling so underappreciated
- 6:13Speaker 2: and the cold thing about being a man. I heard
- 6:16Speaker 2: this quote and it really ripped me. The quote was this,
- 6:19Speaker 2: A man spends his entire life providing for people he
- 6:25Speaker 2: can't live without, to make sure that they can live
- 6:30Speaker 2: without him. H Okay, tell you man, you appreciate it. Y'all,
- 6:36Speaker 2: have a great day today. Talk to God today. He
- 6:39Speaker 2: absolutely loved to hear from you.
