- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans welcome in to Dove All Daily presented by Genjag.com.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Deluga.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Wednesday, April 15th.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: We are eight days away from the NFL draft and nine days away from the Jaguar's current first pick at 56 overall.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Friday and night.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, James Latson will tell you that's for now, but I woke up feeling pretty bold this morning.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty far it up about the direction of the Jacksonville Jaguars and I just wanted to remind folks like what this team is they were 13 and 4 last year They were a couple decisions Missed plays away from beating the bills and potentially running all the way to the Super Bowl with that one the Super Bowl.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly don't think so
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think the C-Ox probably were a little bit too much for the Jack Worst to handle.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: But I think they could have very easily won the F-C, and they're going to be better in 2026.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: I feel very confident about that, and I'm going to tell you why here today, really appreciate you all tuning in.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe, you can also check out GenJack.com, pick up some new dooval gear like the hat I am wearing right now.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that hype button, helps out a ton, really appreciate y'all support.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: So we are just going to roll through the entire team.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: Where is the weak point?
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly don't think that there is one now.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: And as much as I talk about wanting to upgrade the past rush,
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's already going to be better than it was at the end of last year than it was down the stretch last year.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: As much as I talk about getting a little advantage is here and there.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: This is a team with 11 picks.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to address a lot of different areas of the team come next week, right?
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: So don't forget those things.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: But they haven't MVP candidate, Trevor Lawrence, going into year two of this system.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Once Trevor Lawrence got Jacobi Meyer's Britain strange back and started to figure this offense out and figure out how to marry the passing game with also being really aggressive on the ground, like himself.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, not having a consistent run game during that stretch, he was lights out for the Jag Wars.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: He was incredible.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: And the past Friday a good job, the
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think the run blocking did better than the running, but we don't need to go too far down that rabbit hole.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: The receivers stepped up, BTJ stepped up.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi was fantastic, Parker was fantastic, Britain was fantastic, like this passing game was second to none down the stretch last year, and it was still year one of a system, complex system.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's going to be more consistency there.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are returning nine offensive linemen from an offensive line that performed very, very well down the stretch.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: And again, don't hear what I'm not saying.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying the Jaguars shouldn't be looking to upgrade the offensive line, to upgrade the back end of the offensive line, to find potential future starters in this draft.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: They should.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: They have 11 picks.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: But returning nine offensive linemen from an offensive line that was very good last year is a very good thing.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars are excellent, poised to be excellent in the backfield.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Offensive backfield.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Two runners who were in the top five and rushing efficiency last year.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Two runners that complement each other.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: And a coaching staff that knows they need to get bashedal to and outside the tackles more in 2026 and they did in 2025, because he has legitimate home run speed.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: They also now have a, in between the tackles runner and Chris Rodriguez, who is, again, top five and rushing efficiency, but also you look at your odds after contact, miss tackles forced per rush.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: You look at his first down percentage.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the fact that he was in the top five running backs of heavy as boxes.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: when he was in the game, when he was running the football, and he was still efficient, and still breaking tackles, and still picking up first downs.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars have a legitimate between the tackles runner now, plus Lee Quint Allen, who I think could be in the argument for best third down back in the league pretty quickly.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he is that good in past bro, and as a receiver and just brings it.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: One of the best wide receiver groups in football, one through four.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers, what in addition?
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: What in addition for the jags?
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have like, four, three speed, anything like that, but he knows how to run routes.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to catch the ball through contact.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to create separation.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: Be where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be there.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: really reliable football player and then you have Parker Washington who is an explosive threat all over the field.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr., who is, let's not forget, this is a player who teams, fans of teams around the league are clamoring to trade first round picks for Brian Thomas Jr., right?
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then oh by the way, Travis Hunter.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a pretty darn good group and
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: what I like them to upgrade tied into.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, do I think they can do that in this draft?
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: But even if they don't, they have Britain's strange who the way he brings it as a blocker, plus how good he is as a receiver, lights out, awesome football player.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, we haven't even talked about Liam Cohen, one of the best young offensive play calling head coaches in football and leaders, I think, in football, understanding how to connect with his guys, getting the most out of them.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like the way he put down the gauntlet for different players last year, and the way he got them to respond, Anton Harrison, Devon Lloyd, right?
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: Incredible stuff, Travis E. T. N. as well.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: all had career years and they were all challenged by him.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Picucci coming over from Tampa, a long time assistant of Liam Cohen, who's now going to kind of coordinate that running game, I think that's going to help too.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: Then you look at their defense, number one run defense in football last year.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's changing at all.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he is excellent in run defense.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: I watched every single snap of Vintro Miller's in 2025.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think there's going to be a fall off in the run defense department.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Two big time ad pressures.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Heinz Allen, Travelling Walker.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: People like to gloss over the fact that Travelling Walker was playing through injury, multiple injuries for a lot of last year, and still playing effective football.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to have a hell of a year.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: think Josh Hind down is going to have a hell of a year, you have arguably the best run defending nose in the game, you have Eric Armstead who was balling before his hand injury, and they will use picks up front.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, they will use picks on that defensive line.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: Decent depth up there, right?
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: Matt Dickerson is a good football player.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: Mason Smith, not relying on him getting better, but that's not outside of the realm of possibilities, and he has the ability to be disruptive.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Danny Striggow, BJ Green, young guys on the edge.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: Again, more is coming there for sure.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: There's no question about that in my mind, but I honestly believe, and I think the Jaguar is know this.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: CB2 on the outside last year was a major problem after Travis Hunter went down, major problem.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: Look, they traded away Tyson Campbell.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: Was that the best decision for last year?
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, maybe not, but was that the best decision for this football team moving forward?
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think so, because you now have Travis Hunter as CB1, Buster Brown as CB2, Jarian Jones, and Jordan Lewis as inside guys, plus they are both good outside depth.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you had players that were executing at a higher level outside corner, and when I say players, I really mean one player, Greg Newsom, he had a rough year, man.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: He did not play well in this zone defense.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: He had moments for sure, but overall, I mean the bills just rose to Greg Newsom, rose to them.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: But I think Travis Hunter, CB1, Buster Brown, CB2, that helps the past rush.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna play some off coverage.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: When teams opposing offenses are not scared of your off coverage because they know they can beat you underneath, which I think goes back to the execution of a guy like Greg Newsom a lot.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: They're just gonna eat, they're gonna eat underneath, they're gonna eat on the quick stuff.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what some good teams did against the Jaguar last year.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you just go back to that playoff game, man.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom, when targeted, five of five Josh Allen was when targeting Greg Newsom as the closest defender for 59 yards.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: That might not sound like all that much.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: But like every single one of those completions helped them keep drives alive.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: It did.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I think they're gonna be a lot better in that department.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that's gonna help the pass rush and I think drafting a couple of players is gonna help the pass rush.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I also think you cannot forget the Jaguars Letron Milus go to bring in Matthew or Rujo.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Matthew or Rujo is somebody who has experience coaching defensive backs in this type of system and this type of coverage defense.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's going to, that's going to go really well too.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: At safety, Antonio Johnson, lights out season, led to AFC and interceptions along with Devon Lloyd was a assignment sound last year.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's a great run defender, a great tackler, he's got all the physical ability in the world.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: Can play a bunch of different roles in the defense, Eric Murray, good football player, the return of Kayla Ransaw, who didn't get to play it all as a rookie.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be a good football player if he can stay healthy, right on lane played well.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, one of the most innovative defensive coaches in football, according to like the top analysts around the league, his marriage of his like, multiple fronts.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know where guys are coming from, plus the post snap coverage rotations on the back end.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: It was a thing of beauty when it was firing on all cylinders.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it will be firing on all cylinders.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: Even more, thanks to Travis Hunter and Buster Brown being your two starting outside corners versus it being Buster Brown and Greg Newsom.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not just trying to blast Greg Newsom, but I think he's just a much better fit and a man-heavy defense and a defense where he's, and even not even to talk about man.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: And a defense where he's playing closer to the line of Scrimmage.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think playing off was not his game.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's kind of how I see it.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't care who's on the Jaguar schedule.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: As long as 16's in the backfield, Liam Cohen's calling plays on offense, it's any Campanile's calling plays on defense.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're gonna have a great 20, 26 season.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think, divisionally, you're in the same spot as last year.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Colts and Titans will still struggle.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: I know the Colts got off to a hot start last year, but I think they'll be competitive.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: But I think they'll struggle to win games.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's too many weaknesses there.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're in the same spot.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: And we cannot forget to mention a great special team's group, Logan Cook, awesome punner.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: Are you young guy, Cam Little, record-breaking kicker and Ross Matasic, one of the best long sappers in the game, if not the best.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: guys that bust their butt on coverage.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: Athletic training.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: Strength and conditioning, both at the top of the league.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: And a GM that is ready to strike when he feels like he needs to upgrade a portion of the roster.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: James Ladson, shout out.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jack Wars are operating in a very high level right now.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to do well in the draft and I think that they're going to have a great 2026 season.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you think in the comment section below.
