Transcript
- 0:10Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States, thank you,
- 0:43Speaker 1: Thank you very much. That was quite a formal entrance.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I thought we were just going to sit down and
- 0:47Speaker 2: talk a little bit. We talked about exactly one year
- 0:51Speaker 2: ago we had that big, beautiful victory exactly one year
- 0:59Speaker 2: and last night. It was not expected to be a victory.
- 1:02Speaker 2: It was very democrat areas. But I don't think it
- 1:04Speaker 2: was good for Republicans. I don't think it was good.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I'm not sure it was good for anybody. But we
- 1:09Speaker 2: had an interesting evening and we learned a lot, and
- 1:13Speaker 2: we're going to talk about that and I'll say a
- 1:15Speaker 2: few remarks, and then after that I'll ask the press
- 1:17Speaker 2: to leave. The press has been very nice to us
- 1:20Speaker 2: the last a couple of months. They were great to
- 1:23Speaker 2: us in terms of the foreign visits with China, Japan,
- 1:27Speaker 2: South Korea, Malaysia, and they were actually terrific. So I
- 1:31Speaker 2: want to thank you for that. I'm sure you'll get
- 1:33Speaker 2: back to your normal ways soon. But we did a
- 1:37Speaker 2: great job over in China, and we've done a great
- 1:40Speaker 2: job in turning off wars. We stopped eight wars, eight wars,
- 1:43Speaker 2: and we have one to go. As you probably know,
- 1:46Speaker 2: and that'll get stopped also. But we've done a great job,
- 1:49Speaker 2: so it's really it's really been an honor to do it.
- 1:53Speaker 2: And I did it with many of the people in
- 1:55Speaker 2: this room, every one of you I know, and every
- 1:57Speaker 2: one of you I like, I like our leaders, like everybody.
- 2:01Speaker 2: But I thought we'd have a discussion after the press
- 2:03Speaker 2: leaves about what last night represented and what we should
- 2:09Speaker 2: do about it, and also about the shutdown and how
- 2:12Speaker 2: that relates to last night. I think if you read
- 2:16Speaker 2: the posters or the shutdown was a big factor negative
- 2:20Speaker 2: for the Republicans, and that was a big factor. And
- 2:23Speaker 2: they say that I wasn't on the ballot was the
- 2:25Speaker 2: biggest factor, but I don't know about that, but I
- 2:29Speaker 2: was honored that they said that. And I just want
- 2:32Speaker 2: to thank everybody for being here in a very special
- 2:34Speaker 2: thanks the Vice President j D Vans, who's doing a
- 2:37Speaker 2: terrific job. JD. Thank you every man, as well as
- 2:46Speaker 2: the Senate leadership team that has been working very hard working. Really,
- 2:50Speaker 2: I will tell you nobody's working any harder representing the
- 2:54Speaker 2: American people, including Senator John Thune, John, thank you, great job.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Good Senator John Barrosso, John, thank you. Very much. Senator
- 3:10Speaker 2: Tom Cotton, wherever you may be, Tom, Thank you, Thank you, Tom.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Thank you. Senator Shelley Moore Capital, who's been very involved.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Thank you, Shelley. Senator James Langford from one of my
- 3:25Speaker 2: favorite states. Seventy seven out of seventy seven. I always said,
- 3:30Speaker 2: seventy seven out of seventy seven. Reagan was fifty six.
- 3:33Speaker 2: That was the record. We we had every one of them.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Thank you, James. And a fantastic friend of mine and
- 3:39Speaker 2: an incredible advocate during the election a year ago, Tim Scott,
- 3:43Speaker 2: Thank you, Tim. Thank It's pure so as you know,
- 3:49Speaker 2: we are in the midst of a disastrous Democrat created
- 3:52Speaker 2: government shutdown, and it is Democrat created, but I don't
- 3:55Speaker 2: think they're getting really the blame that they should. That's
- 3:58Speaker 2: now officially the long shut down in American history. The
- 4:03Speaker 2: Democrat radicals and the Senative shown zero interest in reopening
- 4:07Speaker 2: the government, and I don't think they'll act. See a
- 4:11Speaker 2: lot of people disagree. I've been saying for the last
- 4:14Speaker 2: thirty days, we've had four or five different points. Yes, sir,
- 4:17Speaker 2: they're going to get it right now. We should have
- 4:19Speaker 2: it done in a day. I've heard that about four times.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I heard it after Kings. You know, they said I
- 4:23Speaker 2: was a king, and I heard it after Kings. I
- 4:26Speaker 2: heard it after a couple of other moments in time,
- 4:29Speaker 2: and I said, no, I don't believe so. And now
- 4:31Speaker 2: I heard it's after the election. I don't believe so.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I think they will. I think they're Kamakazi pilots. I
- 4:37Speaker 2: just got back from Japan. I talked about the Kamakazi pilots.
- 4:40Speaker 2: I think these guys are kamakazi. They'll take down the
- 4:43Speaker 2: country if they have to, So I don't think so.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Millions of Americans are going to be without SNAP benefits.
- 4:49Speaker 2: And I will say about SNAP benefits, so when I
- 4:52Speaker 2: was president, we had seven billion dollars worth and now
- 4:55Speaker 2: they have many times that because these benefits were given
- 4:58Speaker 2: to anybody that asked, and they're up to here, just
- 5:03Speaker 2: many times forty seven billion. So it wasn't the purpose
- 5:08Speaker 2: of SNAP. It was for people that really had problems,
- 5:11Speaker 2: down and out, people that really had problems. But during
- 5:15Speaker 2: Biden they gave it to anybody that wanted it. I
- 5:17Speaker 2: think it's something you have to talk about because the
- 5:19Speaker 2: numbers are incredible, but countless public servants are now not
- 5:24Speaker 2: being paid, and the air traffic control system is under
- 5:27Speaker 2: increasing strain. We must get the government back open soon
- 5:31Speaker 2: and really immediately. We have to get it up. We
- 5:34Speaker 2: have the hottest economy we've ever had, and it's affecting
- 5:37Speaker 2: the stock market now a little bit. But the stock
- 5:40Speaker 2: market as a Friday has hit many record highs during
- 5:44Speaker 2: the last nine months, many and it will again. This
- 5:49Speaker 2: is just the beginning because when these plants that are
- 5:51Speaker 2: being built right now start opening up, We've never had
- 5:54Speaker 2: anything like this as a boom. There's a construction boom
- 5:57Speaker 2: right now, but that's going to be bigger than that.
- 5:59Speaker 2: That's going to be economic boon as soon as they
- 6:02Speaker 2: open up, and it's going to be something special. We
- 6:05Speaker 2: have car companies coming in. When I was in Japan, Toyota,
- 6:09Speaker 2: mister Toyota, I said, what's your name? Toyota? I said, oh,
- 6:13Speaker 2: you're rich. I said, how much of the company do
- 6:17Speaker 2: you own? Ninety two point one percent. I said, I'm
- 6:20Speaker 2: glad you said the one he wants to be. I said,
- 6:23Speaker 2: you're a rich guy. And he said, I'm investing ten
- 6:26Speaker 2: billion dollars in the US. And you know what I'm
- 6:30Speaker 2: talking about. It right you introduced me, mister senator, you
- 6:34Speaker 2: introduced me originally when you were the ambassador to Japan.
- 6:37Speaker 2: He's still good, he's still strong, but he had no
- 6:40Speaker 2: interest in investing in this country. Now he's investing ten
- 6:44Speaker 2: billion as of one week ago in building new plants.
- 6:47Speaker 2: We have auto plants coming in incredibly, but we have
- 6:49Speaker 2: AI and all of them. And we can't be extorted
- 6:54Speaker 2: to give one point five trillion dollars to people that
- 6:57Speaker 2: came into the country illegally, many from prisons, many drug dealers,
- 7:01Speaker 2: a lot of people came in from mental institutions. They
- 7:06Speaker 2: want to give a lot of money to the people
- 7:08Speaker 2: that came in illegally. We have to get them out.
- 7:09Speaker 2: We can't. No country can sustain that. That's not like
- 7:12Speaker 2: an attack on our country, and no country. These are
- 7:15Speaker 2: not going to be productive people. These are going to
- 7:16Speaker 2: be anti productive people. And we can all have big hearts,
- 7:20Speaker 2: that have a bigger heart than anybody, but we can't
- 7:22Speaker 2: let that happen. It's time for Republicans to do what
- 7:25Speaker 2: they have to do, and that's terminate the filibuster. It's
- 7:28Speaker 2: the only way you can do it. And if you
- 7:30Speaker 2: don't terminate the filibuster, you'll be in bad shape. We
- 7:33Speaker 2: won't pass any legislation. There'll be no legislation passed for
- 7:37Speaker 2: three in a quarter. We have three and a quarter years,
- 7:39Speaker 2: so it's a long time. But when they can't do
- 7:42Speaker 2: an extension, and John, I think they've done an extension
- 7:44Speaker 2: every single time they've ever been asked forever, this is
- 7:48Speaker 2: the first time they haven't done an extension. Extensions are
- 7:50Speaker 2: supposed to be easy. But if they won't do an extension,
- 7:52Speaker 2: they won't do any bill, even a simple bill. And
- 7:55Speaker 2: we should do our own bills. We should get out,
- 7:57Speaker 2: We should do our own bills. We should open up.
- 8:00Speaker 2: We should start tonight with the country's open congratulations. Then
- 8:04Speaker 2: we should pass voter ID. We should pass no mail
- 8:09Speaker 2: in voting. We should pass all the things that we
- 8:11Speaker 2: wanted to pass. Make our elections secure. And say, because
- 8:13Speaker 2: California is a disaster, many of the states are disasters.
- 8:18Speaker 2: But can you imagine when they vote almost unanimously against
- 8:21Speaker 2: voter ID. All we want is voter ID. You go
- 8:24Speaker 2: to a grocery store, you have to give ID. You
- 8:27Speaker 2: go to a gas station, you give ID. But for voting,
- 8:30Speaker 2: they want no voter ID. It's only for one reason,
- 8:32Speaker 2: because they cheat. We would pass that in fifteen minutes.
- 8:36Speaker 2: If you don't get it, you'll never pass that. You'll
- 8:38Speaker 2: never talk about mail in ballots. Mail in ballots make
- 8:42Speaker 2: it automatically corrupt. If you have mail in ballots, automatically,
- 8:45Speaker 2: it's correct. Even Jimmy Carter, they had the Carter Commission
- 8:48Speaker 2: after he got out of office, and he had a
- 8:50Speaker 2: group of very distinguished people, Democrats and Republicans, and they
- 8:53Speaker 2: passed they recommended things take place. It was a long
- 8:57Speaker 2: time ago, and they said about mail in ballots. If
- 9:00Speaker 2: there is mail in ballots, there will definitely be corruption
- 9:03Speaker 2: because you know they pass through too many hands. I mean,
- 9:06Speaker 2: you go and to vote and they want your card,
- 9:08Speaker 2: even me, I went into pump Beach. You go into vote,
- 9:11Speaker 2: they want your card. You're this, you're that. They said,
- 9:13Speaker 2: I'm sorry to do this, sir, but I have to
- 9:15Speaker 2: look at your identification. I said, all right, I love that,
- 9:19Speaker 2: and but you know, you're really not going to get
- 9:21Speaker 2: away with much. It was very very professional, very good,
- 9:24Speaker 2: and the way's supposed to be. But these people don't
- 9:27Speaker 2: want that. They have a legislation in California where it's
- 9:31Speaker 2: illegal to ask somebody for voter ID if you ask
- 9:35Speaker 2: somebody for voter ID, if you're an official and you
- 9:38Speaker 2: said I'd like to see your voter ID, they can
- 9:41Speaker 2: arrest you. Okay, they can arrest you because they want
- 9:45Speaker 2: to cheat and they get away with it, and the
- 9:48Speaker 2: Republicans let them get away with it, and we won't
- 9:50Speaker 2: do that if we have the Filippus. So I'm just
- 9:53Speaker 2: going to we're going to talk about that a little
- 9:54Speaker 2: bit and we're going to see if we can sway
- 9:57Speaker 2: because I know we have a lot of not a lot.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I'd say half feel this way, maybe a little bit
- 10:02Speaker 2: less than half, and it's time to have a really
- 10:05Speaker 2: good talk. If I thought that they weren't going to
- 10:08Speaker 2: pass the fellow Us, I wouldn't even bring it up.
- 10:10Speaker 2: They're going to pass it within the first hour if
- 10:13Speaker 2: they take power, and it's more likely that they take
- 10:16Speaker 2: power if we don't do because we're not going to
- 10:18Speaker 2: be passing any legislation, not going to approve anything. We're
- 10:21Speaker 2: going to go three and a quarter years. There won't
- 10:22Speaker 2: be one bill that we're going to pass because the
- 10:25Speaker 2: easiest thing to pass is exactly right now what they
- 10:28Speaker 2: won't pass. And they'll do that, and they'll recavoc. But
- 10:32Speaker 2: let's assume they get in. They're doing it anyway, so
- 10:34Speaker 2: it wouldn't matter. They're doing it anyway. And you know,
- 10:37Speaker 2: I have a case where I have great US attorneys
- 10:40Speaker 2: that can't be approved because of the blue slips. The
- 10:42Speaker 2: blue slips. I think you should terminate blue slips too.
- 10:45Speaker 2: It's a mental termination because it's really a custom. But
- 10:48Speaker 2: if you have a Democrat senator or two, two is bad,
- 10:53Speaker 2: but it doesn't make any difference if you have one
- 10:55Speaker 2: senator writes a negative letter on some great US attorney.
- 10:58Speaker 2: We had it in Manhattan's othern district. Jake Clayton, one
- 11:01Speaker 2: of the most respected lawyers in the whole country by far,
- 11:05Speaker 2: one of the most respected, and couldn't get approved. The
- 11:10Speaker 2: courts approved him. The courts couldn't believe it. They did
- 11:12Speaker 2: it like instantly. He went to the best schools, got
- 11:16Speaker 2: the best marks, top of his class. Everything was perfect.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I mean, he was like lit the perfect light. Went
- 11:21Speaker 2: to Sullivan and Cromwell almost immediately became the head of
- 11:24Speaker 2: Sullivan and Cromwell. You know, the most prestigious law firm,
- 11:28Speaker 2: I would say in the country. Just about whether it's
- 11:32Speaker 2: Sullivan or two or three I could name, but Sullivan
- 11:34Speaker 2: I would say really maybe number one. He was the
- 11:37Speaker 2: head of Sullivan and Cromwell for like twenty years. He
- 11:40Speaker 2: went to the SEC, was flawless. He did it for me,
- 11:43Speaker 2: he was the SEC chairman. He was flawless. Then he
- 11:47Speaker 2: went to Apollo where he was the chairman of Apollo
- 11:52Speaker 2: and was flawless. Everything went good, the stock went through
- 11:55Speaker 2: the roof and everything. I asked him to go to
- 11:57Speaker 2: the Southern District and he said, oh, do what you'd
- 11:59Speaker 2: like to do, sir. This is a very high quality person.
- 12:02Speaker 2: But he couldn't get approval from Schumer. Humor didn't approve them.
- 12:07Speaker 2: The best student, the best schools, but everything is like flawless,
- 12:11Speaker 2: and the courts actually said, you're not approving Jay Clayton, right,
- 12:16Speaker 2: Lindsay you heard this. The courts actually interceded and they
- 12:20Speaker 2: approved him. But that's an unusual guy. We have other
- 12:23Speaker 2: people that are really good, but people don't know how good.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Top students, top top colleges, and their US attorneys, and
- 12:32Speaker 2: they won't be approved. They're not going to be approved.
- 12:35Speaker 2: We have one in the Los Angeles who's phenomenal, but
- 12:38Speaker 2: no the Senators that the Democrats are you know again
- 12:41Speaker 2: the kamikazes. The Democrats are not going to approve them.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Blue slips are a disaster. So the only people I
- 12:48Speaker 2: can get approved are Democrats. I was told that by
- 12:51Speaker 2: the Democrats, will only approve Democrats. They said, really, is
- 12:54Speaker 2: that right? Not going to work that way, Not going
- 12:57Speaker 2: to work that way with me. But the blue slips
- 12:59Speaker 2: are a total disaster. Will I have ten people right
- 13:02Speaker 2: now that will not be that are doing a phenomenal job,
- 13:06Speaker 2: and they will be out of office pretty soon. They've
- 13:08Speaker 2: got another two three weeks a couple of them, and
- 13:10Speaker 2: then they're going to have to leave. And it's actually
- 13:14Speaker 2: a blight on their record because you know, nobody knows
- 13:16Speaker 2: why they live, but it looks like they served eight
- 13:19Speaker 2: weeks and then they had to leave. But they're not
- 13:21Speaker 2: going to get the approval because the Democrat radical left
- 13:25Speaker 2: lunatic senators are saying, you can't, we're not going to
- 13:29Speaker 2: approve you. And if we're not going to approve you,
- 13:32Speaker 2: I had actually one Republican who got two great letters,
- 13:35Speaker 2: but it turned out that he was a rhino, but
- 13:38Speaker 2: that was a nice term for him. Now he got
- 13:40Speaker 2: two letters of approval, and when I said, two Democrats
- 13:44Speaker 2: approved him. I had to fire him because I figured
- 13:46Speaker 2: if two Democrats approved him, they wrote the most beautiful letters.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I found out, Man, this is strange and he was
- 13:52Speaker 2: no good I fired him. He was really not much
- 13:56Speaker 2: of a Republican. The recommendation of that one wasn't such
- 13:59Speaker 2: a good record nation. Someday I'll tell you who recommended him,
- 14:02Speaker 2: But it wasn't exactly the best. But when I saw too,
- 14:05Speaker 2: you know, when I saw the two senators from Virginia
- 14:08Speaker 2: gave him blowing marks, tim, I said, let me see this.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I read the most beautiful letters I've ever seen, I said.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I called him up. I said, sorry, you're fired. Get
- 14:18Speaker 2: the hell out of here. But it's a horrible thing.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Blue slips is a horrible thing because I have the
- 14:23Speaker 2: right to pick judges, and I have the right to
- 14:25Speaker 2: pick US attorneys, and this takes away the right from me.
- 14:29Speaker 2: And I think we're going to go to court on it,
- 14:31Speaker 2: and you know, we'll see what happens in court. But
- 14:33Speaker 2: it gives the president. It takes away the right of
- 14:36Speaker 2: the president to pick people to serve on the court
- 14:39Speaker 2: and to serve as US attorneys, which is very important.
- 14:43Speaker 2: But the biggest thing is the filibuster. We have to
- 14:46Speaker 2: get the country going. We will pass legislation at levels
- 14:50Speaker 2: you've never seen before, and it'll be impossible to beat us,
- 14:53Speaker 2: by the way if they do. They're going to do
- 14:55Speaker 2: it anyway, and they are going to immediately do the filibuster.
- 14:59Speaker 2: And when they do the Philip they're going to pack
- 15:01Speaker 2: the court. They want five at least five now I
- 15:04Speaker 2: hear it's up to five. I actually heard up to
- 15:07Speaker 2: seven and up to nine. Okay, they want new judges.
- 15:10Speaker 2: They want to pack the court. And they will do
- 15:12Speaker 2: it the first day, maybe the week. Maybe they'll slow
- 15:16Speaker 2: it down because there's no reason to rush, but they'll
- 15:20Speaker 2: do it first week. They'll vote on this. And I
- 15:22Speaker 2: have friends over there that are Democrats, very I'm close
- 15:26Speaker 2: to a lot of people, and I asked them about
- 15:29Speaker 2: that because some people say, well, maybe they won't do that.
- 15:31Speaker 1: I mean, they destroyed the career of Mansion and Cinema.
- 15:35Speaker 2: And they got them out. They were the only objectors.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Nobody else is going to object. They're going to do
- 15:39Speaker 2: it the first day. They're going to pack the court.
- 15:41Speaker 2: They're going to make DC a state, and they're going
- 15:45Speaker 2: to make Puerto Rico estate. So now they pick up
- 15:47Speaker 2: two states, they pick up four senators. Okay, you think
- 15:51Speaker 2: you have problems. They're going to do all of the things,
- 15:54Speaker 2: they're going to pick up electoral votes. It's going to
- 15:56Speaker 2: be a very very bad situation. And it's done. It's
- 16:00Speaker 2: done as soon as they attain power. Now, if we
- 16:02Speaker 2: do what I'm saying, they'll never they'll most likely never
- 16:05Speaker 2: attain power because we will have passed every single thing
- 16:09Speaker 2: that you can imagine that it's good and all good
- 16:12Speaker 2: for the country, and there'll be no reason to it.
- 16:15Speaker 1: If we don't do that, people say they're not.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Doing much and they're in power. So the good news
- 16:21Speaker 2: is we did the great, big, beautiful bill and it's
- 16:24Speaker 2: the greatest thing we could have done, and the smartest thing.
- 16:27Speaker 2: With John and our Speaker of the House, who's so good, Mike,
- 16:32Speaker 2: Mike Johnson.
- 16:34Speaker 1: We did all in one bill. If we didn't John,
- 16:37Speaker 1: it would be a.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Problem because you know, we would have gotten a small
- 16:40Speaker 2: piece pass. A lot of people wanted to do that.
- 16:42Speaker 2: A lot of people in the room wanted to do that.
- 16:43Speaker 2: They went along with me and John and everybody, and
- 16:46Speaker 2: we got this thing passed. Honestly, it's four years worth
- 16:50Speaker 2: of goodies and no tax on tips, no tax on
- 16:54Speaker 2: social Security, no tax on think of it, no tax
- 16:58Speaker 2: on overtime. It's an unbelieve tax cut for the workers
- 17:01Speaker 2: and for business where business is going to create jobs,
- 17:05Speaker 2: and we are. We're creating jobs at levels that nobody's
- 17:07Speaker 2: ever seen before.
- 17:08Speaker 1: All these things are good. We have to be able
- 17:10Speaker 1: to get the word out.
- 17:10Speaker 2: If we don't get the word out, we'll make it
- 17:13Speaker 2: a very big mistake. So I have this long, beautiful
- 17:15Speaker 2: and very boring speech. I won't bother reading it, but
- 17:19Speaker 2: because we can just start talking, and I think it's
- 17:22Speaker 2: very important. We have to get the country open. And
- 17:24Speaker 2: the way we're going to do it this afternoon is
- 17:26Speaker 2: to terminate the filibuster. And its possible. You're not going
- 17:30Speaker 2: to do that, and I'm going to go by your wishes.
- 17:31Speaker 2: You're very smart people, we're good friends. But I think
- 17:34Speaker 2: it's a tremendous mistake. Really, it would be a tragic mistake. Actually,
- 17:39Speaker 2: it's time. It's time. If I thought they weren't going
- 17:42Speaker 2: to approve, i'd sort of be with you.
- 17:45Speaker 1: I'd be fine, I'd be neutral to with you.
- 17:48Speaker 2: But knowing that they're going to pass it, as soon
- 17:50Speaker 2: as they get any semblance of control, they'll pass the
- 17:53Speaker 2: first thing. Then it's like, we have to do it first,
- 17:56Speaker 2: and we have two years, and we'll end up with
- 17:59Speaker 2: two three years, and we'll have this country so perfect.
- 18:02Speaker 2: We will have passed more legislation than any Congress and
- 18:06Speaker 2: any group of senators or a group of congressmen, and
- 18:11Speaker 2: we will get it through. They'll send it to us,
- 18:12Speaker 2: we'll send it to them. It'll be a beautiful machine. Otherwise,
- 18:16Speaker 2: we're just going to sit around and argue with these
- 18:19Speaker 2: people all day long. And they're highly unrealistic, highly unrealistic.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Many of them are radical left subversives. Rightly, so I
- 18:29Speaker 2: want to thank everybody, and we're going to talk, and
- 18:32Speaker 2: I want to thank the press for treating us so
- 18:34Speaker 2: really well for that foreign trip. It was an amazing
- 18:37Speaker 2: We had just an amazing meeting. Don't forget two months
- 18:41Speaker 2: ago it looked like the whole world was in trouble
- 18:43Speaker 2: over rare Earth, and that's no longer even a subject
- 18:47Speaker 2: that people talk about. It was all worked out very quickly.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Without tariffs, I couldn't have done it. I put a
- 18:52Speaker 2: one hundred percent tariff on China as soon as I
- 18:55Speaker 2: heard it within twenty minutes. I put a one hundred
- 18:57Speaker 2: percent tariff in China. President She, who's really a friend
- 19:01Speaker 2: of mine as much as he can be a friend.
- 19:03Speaker 2: He's a tough man. He's a tough man, smart man,
- 19:06Speaker 2: actually very smart. The press doesn't like it when I
- 19:09Speaker 2: call him very smart. You know, they think I'm not
- 19:11Speaker 2: supposed to call him smart. But at least one point
- 19:14Speaker 2: four billion people without question. In fact, during the meeting
- 19:18Speaker 2: we were there, A couple of you were there, and
- 19:21Speaker 2: some of you saw it. So he's here and he's
- 19:24Speaker 2: got about six people on each side, and every one
- 19:27Speaker 2: of those people were standing like this. They were an
- 19:30Speaker 2: attention and I made a comment to one of them
- 19:33Speaker 2: and I got no response. I said, are you going
- 19:35Speaker 2: to answer me? I got no response, and President She
- 19:38Speaker 2: didn't let him have any So there's any question. I said,
- 19:42Speaker 2: I want my cabinet to behave like that. That's the
- 19:44Speaker 2: way I'm demanding that. I want them sitting up like that.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Tim just nice and straight. I never saw a pasture
- 19:50Speaker 2: like that. I've never seen men so scared in their lives.
- 19:54Speaker 2: They have the equivalent, the equivalent of a vice president.
- 19:57Speaker 2: He was. I said, are you going to answer my
- 20:00Speaker 2: question and he's like, he doesn't move. I say, what's
- 20:03Speaker 2: wrong with this card? I will answer all questions. Why
- 20:06Speaker 2: don't you behave like that? JD doesn't behave like that?
- 20:09Speaker 2: JD buds into conversations. What I want to have? I
- 20:13Speaker 2: want to have that for at least a couple of days. Okay,
- 20:16Speaker 2: j J. We'll keep you long term, but a couple
- 20:19Speaker 2: of days of that would a couple of days if
- 20:21Speaker 2: that would.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Be very very nice.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 20:23Speaker 1: I want to thank you and we'll talk a little bit.
- 20:25Speaker 2: And uh, I see they set me up with a podium.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I thought i'd just be sitting, but it's probably easier.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I want to thank you all very much. Thank you
- 20:32Speaker 2: to the press, and you can go and we'll speak
- 20:34Speaker 2: to you later. Thank you. I'm going to Miami to make
- 20:36Speaker 2: a speech today at a big group and we have
- 20:39Speaker 2: a nice big crowd and we'll see you there.
- 20:41Speaker 1: A lot of you are traveling down with me. Thank
- 20:43Speaker 1: you very much.
