- 0:00I was definitely surprised that Ohio State lost was I was I
- 0:07absolutely shocked that I think there was a zero percent chance
- 0:10of that happening. Now that I think about it, I, I
- 0:13would not have bet at all for Ohio State to lose that game
- 0:18money line, however, and I didn't bet on the game.
- 0:20So it's easy for me to say now, but I think if you know me, I'm
- 0:24a pretty honest person. I absolutely would have taken
- 0:28Michigan and the points in that game just because rivalry game.
- 0:34What did the spread end up being, by the way?
- 0:36Was it 1919, 1/2, whatever it was, and I said this going in,
- 0:40you don't have to believe me, but that was way too many points
- 0:43for a Michigan team where this was their entire season.
- 0:48An Ohio State team that has been really shaky versus Michigan the
- 0:53last three years, now four years, but more so a coaching
- 0:57staff led by Ryan Day that's very shaky against Michigan.
- 1:03And I think that's where we should start.
- 1:06Look, whatever Ryan Day's overall record is, I know it's
- 1:09something crazy. I'll I'll look it up here.
- 1:11And his win percentage is 880. Look, the games that matter,
- 1:17most of the games that matter, Ryan Day has lost.
- 1:22OK, So what's his record now versus Michigan?
- 1:241:00 and 4:00 and get your comments in.
- 1:27By the way, Keith Adams says just can't let it go, huh?
- 1:31With a couple of emojis. I just want to break it down.
- 1:34I want to break it down. I want to talk about it.
- 1:35I tweeted a lot. I did a video on Saturday.
- 1:38I did a couple shorts. So get your comments in, get
- 1:42your questions in, let me know if you can hear me well as well.
- 1:45I know you can see me in my beautiful face.
- 1:47And by the way, this live stream brought to you by Triad Bank,
- 1:50Saint Louis Lawn Care, Saint Louis Equipment Corner Butcher
- 1:54and Chophouse. I'll tell you more about all of
- 1:56my fine sponsors at the end of the broadcast here.
- 1:59But look, let's be real, couple years ago when Ohio State lost
- 2:05to Michigan in a game where I feel like they didn't let it
- 2:10hang out. And that's that's what bothers
- 2:13me the most about this game as well.
- 2:14I remember two years ago saying why, why does Ryan Day, why the
- 2:18coaching staff? Why do they coach so scared
- 2:20versus Michigan? If you're going to lose and then
- 2:24you end up losing anyway, imagine the regrets you have
- 2:28when you have to think back and go, you know, we didn't even we
- 2:32didn't even give it our best shot.
- 2:35We didn't even go down our way right with our guys doing what
- 2:41we do best. That's what I felt like a couple
- 2:44years ago. There was there was like a
- 2:45couple 4th and ones. It was very passive, very
- 2:49conservative, nothing like go for your throat.
- 2:53Whereas so I'm I'm talking about two years ago, but then just go
- 2:56to the game on Saturday. Think about the end of that game
- 3:00when Michigan runs that trick play right and they get the
- 3:03penalty and you're just like, here's Michigan literally with
- 3:07nothing to lose but putting their balls out literally on the
- 3:12table. And just they didn't even have
- 3:15an offense by the way, they had no passing game.
- 3:18They run that trick play at the end, whereas Ryan Day was scared
- 3:23to do anything on offense. And and that's what bothers me.
- 3:28And I know people will bring up that third base comment from Jim
- 3:32Harbaugh, but to me it's the Lou Holtz comment from whenever it
- 3:35was a couple years ago saying that Ohio State wasn't a tough
- 3:38team. And I know a lot of people have
- 3:40have said this on X and what not, but I think there's a lot
- 3:42of truth to that. Really affected Ryan Day
- 3:47personally. Like he can't just beat
- 3:50Michigan. He has to try to beat Michigan
- 3:52at their own game, right? Running the ball down their
- 3:55throats. And when I'm watching that game,
- 3:59I'm just thinking, what are you? What are you doing now on
- 4:04defense? The Ohio State defense played
- 4:06great. And the Ohio State defense is
- 4:09very tough, tough, Smash Mouth football.
- 4:13I mean, you hold Michigan to 13 points, you got to think you're
- 4:18going to win that game. And look, Ohio State typically
- 4:21can run the ball typically. But in this particular game,
- 4:25when you look at matchups, Ohio State banged up offensive line,
- 4:30the strength of Michigan, their defensive line, right?
- 4:34Michigan without their best corner in that game.
- 4:37How many NFL wide receivers does Ohio State have?
- 4:41Like, you also have to look at the game plan.
- 4:44And I've seen so many people on Twitter X, whatever you call it
- 4:49after the fact, flabbergasted by the game plan.
- 4:53You played right into their hands.
- 4:55I saw a tweet. I know it's from Zach Smith, the
- 4:58former Ohio State coach, but he was talking to somebody where
- 5:02was the Michigan coach was like, I can't believe, I can't believe
- 5:08Ohio State's game plan and offense.
- 5:10It's like they played right into our hands.
- 5:14And the, the example that was made on, on X here and this
- 5:19again, this was from Zach Smith, but he said something like,
- 5:21imagine if you're in the UFC, imagine if it's an MMA fight and
- 5:26you have a a ground and pound guy, a grappler who can't really
- 5:31stand up and, and trade versus a boxer.
- 5:34And that guy who, who can't trade, who's better on the
- 5:38ground, purposefully stays on his feet that whole fight and
- 5:43tries to box the guy where that's not this person's
- 5:46particular strength and that's the strength of the other guy.
- 5:49And I don't even think it's fair to say this is Monday morning
- 5:53quarterback. Today it's it's Tuesday, Tuesday
- 5:55afternoon quarterback. This is what I'm thinking.
- 5:59I think I tweeted 30 times during the game, whatever it is,
- 6:02I barely tweet that much all year long.
- 6:05And then Ohio State, Michigan game, I'll tweet like 30 times,
- 6:07be very annoying and all for the most part kind of take a break
- 6:11until the College Football Playoff.
- 6:13We'll get to that. But I'm just watching that game
- 6:15like where is the offensive creativity?
- 6:18You have Ryan Day, you have Chip Kelly, you got all these NFL
- 6:24wide receivers. And I, I will say this, Will
- 6:29Howard was clearly compromised after that hit.
- 6:32Don't you guys agree with me there, Will?
- 6:35Will Howard got his bell rung and he goes off the field.
- 6:39You're thinking he's concussed or Dang close to it.
- 6:42And maybe he was, I don't know. But the majority of passes after
- 6:47that, even the ones he completed, you could just tell
- 6:49there wasn't a real perfect flow in the passing game, right?
- 6:53Like every pass was just a tick off, even if it was caught.
- 6:57He wasn't hitting dudes in stride.
- 7:00He was overthrowing dudes. I think that hit compromised
- 7:04Will Howard. He toughed it out.
- 7:05He didn't play well. Obviously couple picks the the
- 7:08kicker Fielding didn't play well.
- 7:12Obviously he was rattled. To me, that's not just, Oh, my
- 7:15technique is messed up. That's you're rattled, right?
- 7:19In the same way, Ryan Day, I feel like every time he coaches
- 7:22Michigan now, he's rattled. You know what's a good example
- 7:24is I was thinking of this. Remember the waterboy, the
- 7:28waterboy, Henry Winkler, the coach where whenever he plays
- 7:31that one, that one other coach, right, his nemesis, he always
- 7:35shrinks. He wants to leave the stadium
- 7:38and he just he can't do anything against that guy.
- 7:41Like he can't think straight. He's rattled.
- 7:44That's how I feel like Ryan Day coaches versus Michigan and he
- 7:47and here's why I say that everybody's calling for Ryan Day
- 7:50to be fired and all that and I get it.
- 7:53I, I think do I think Ryan Day should be fired?
- 7:57What do you think is this crazy talk?
- 7:59If Ryan Day doesn't win the national championship this year,
- 8:02should he be fired? I I think that's a fair
- 8:04argument. If they don't fire him, I'm not
- 8:07going to say it's the end of the world, but I think you can make
- 8:09the argument with the way Ryan Day coaches versus Michigan and
- 8:13in big games that he should be fired if they don't win the
- 8:17national championship, which they still can, by the way.
- 8:20And that's why being fair, I want to mention, look, couple
- 8:24years ago was the first time I really said this dude's got to
- 8:29go because of the way they were playing versus Michigan.
- 8:32Not just losing to Michigan, but the way they were losing.
- 8:35Last year's game actually played pretty well if you remember.
- 8:40But go back two years. I know I keep doing this, but I
- 8:43understand, I'm being fair that in the same season I called for
- 8:48Ryan Day to be fired and this is crazy.
- 8:49Bring back Urban Meyer and all that and a lot of people were.
- 8:52That was the same year that Ohio State went and played a hell of
- 8:56a game versus Georgia. Had Georgia beat damn near the
- 9:00whole game. If Marvin Harrison Junior isn't
- 9:04knocked out of that game at the end, Ohio State beats Georgia in
- 9:09the College Football Playoff semi final.
- 9:11And that was the year, if you remember, Georgia beat TCU.
- 9:14What was it like 65 to 7? So even in that year when folks
- 9:18like myself were calling for Ryan Day to be fired, I'm
- 9:21acknowledging that. If that kick at the end, what
- 9:25was the the kick in that game? 50 yards.
- 9:27If that field goes good. Now it wasn't even close.
- 9:29But Ohio State beats the freaking juggernaut of Georgia
- 9:35and wins the national championship.
- 9:37I understand. So it sounds crazy two years
- 9:40ago, they're a kick away, their Marvin, Marvin Harrison junior
- 9:44getting knocked out at the end of that game away from winning a
- 9:47national championship. But that's also, that's the
- 9:50margin for error and elite program.
- 9:53If if Ryan Day had won that national championship or another
- 9:57national championship, right, people would not be calling for
- 10:01his job because you would have equity.
- 10:03When you win a national championship, you build equity
- 10:06with your fan base inside your program.
- 10:09And I know it sounds harsh. Whatever Ryan Day's record is,
- 10:12I'll look it up. Is it like 66 and 10, something
- 10:14like that? But you can't lose to Michigan
- 10:17every year. You certainly can't lose to
- 10:19Michigan at home when you're almost a three touchdown
- 10:23favorite, right? That's why this loss was more
- 10:25devastating than the losses the last three years.
- 10:29You're at home. Michigan is down, right?
- 10:32Michigan has this recruit coming in next year, the number one
- 10:34quarterback in the country. This was the year where you
- 10:37weren't even supposed to really sweat this game.
- 10:40And that's why it, look, I'm 42 years old, going on 43, as my
- 10:45daughter would say, I'm 42 1/2. OK?
- 10:47So Ryan Day, 66 and 1066 and 10 at Ohio State, makes $9.96
- 10:54million per year, according to Wikipedia.
- 10:57But look, Ryan Day needs a national championship for the
- 11:02heat to come off him. Don't you think that's fair?
- 11:06And it's easy to say, oh, look at his record and I don't know
- 11:09exactly. Jim Tressel's record overall, it
- 11:12was great. Urban Meyer's record overall, it
- 11:14was great. I do know this.
- 11:15Jim Tressel was nine and one, I believe, versus Michigan.
- 11:20Urban Meyer was 7 and O versus Michigan.
- 11:23Ryan Day is one and four versus Michigan.
- 11:27And it's not just about the games versus Michigan, although
- 11:30that's huge, beating Michigan year in, year out and especially
- 11:35recently, not as much this year, but in the last three years when
- 11:39Harbaugh was there and he really had Michigan rolling.
- 11:43There's a standard there that beating Michigan means.
- 11:47It usually means you beat Michigan.
- 11:49You go to the Big 10 championship game in
- 11:51Indianapolis, which they usually did.
- 11:53They usually win that, and they're in the College Football
- 11:56Playoff. And Ohio State has not met that
- 11:59standard versus Michigan the last four years.
- 12:03Now. They still look every other
- 12:05year. They still usually make it to
- 12:06the College Football Playoff. They're still in the College
- 12:08Football Playoff this year. Although let's be real, it's
- 12:11different with the 12 teams. Ohio State would not be in the
- 12:14College Football Playoff if it was last year's format with four
- 12:17teams. But you need basically you need
- 12:21a national championship. Brian Day does to keep the the
- 12:25Heat off his back. And the reason for that is
- 12:27because of the amazing rosters that he's had.
- 12:30I mean, look, the whole comment from Jim Harbaugh about some
- 12:33dudes are on third base, they think they hit a triple.
- 12:37So clearly Jim Harbaugh saying that Ryan Day was was born on
- 12:40third base and and thinks he had a triple.
- 12:42But look, Ryan Day, let's be real, he did inherit a really,
- 12:48really good program from Urban Meyer that was clicking on all
- 12:50cylinders. So Ryan Day, overall 66 and 10
- 12:54in bowls, two and four in College Football Playoff games,
- 12:57one and three versus Michigan, 1:00 and 4:00.
- 13:00And so you look at his seasons, he had the three games he
- 13:04coached in 18 when Urban Meyer was suspended, goes 3 and O that
- 13:07next year, 13 and one, seven and one COVID year they get to the
- 13:11national championship game. Remember, weird year, you beat
- 13:14Clemson, you get blown out by Alabama and they go 11:00 and
- 13:192:11 and 2:11 and 2:10 and 2:00. This year, 66 and 10 overall, 46
- 13:25and five in the Big 10. And look at those four losses, 4
- 13:31losses in Michigan and then the one this year to Oregon.
- 13:34It's still crazy that Oregon is in the Big 10.
- 13:36I know to think that Oregon's in the Big 10.
- 13:39OK, I'm going to get to your get to your questions and comments
- 13:43here. We got Daily Shorts first.
- 13:47Daily Shorts says I just can't see firing someone who has
- 13:51succeeded at the elite of a level and consistently bringing
- 13:54in high quality recruits, but he definitely lacks confidence and
- 13:57toughness. Agreed.
- 13:59Let's see daily shorts. We need to get back to being
- 14:03willing to get nasty and not worry about being cute.
- 14:06But this year's team on offense, I don't feel like versus
- 14:09Michigan should have got nasty. That's what I said at the
- 14:12beginning of the show. Here, look at this daily shorts
- 14:15showing love to a fellow Whitmer Panther.
- 14:17Nothing but respect brother. Daily shorts, when'd you go to
- 14:21Whitmer? I'm class of A 2000 by the way,
- 14:24Matt Eberflos, Whitmer High School graduate rough week just
- 14:28gets fired by the Chicago Bears. Let's see, Hummus hero.
- 14:34I also like hummus. I just bought some.
- 14:36I know the game plan was very suspect.
- 14:38Do you think coming off the emotional high of beating
- 14:40Indiana had an impact? Is that really an emotional high
- 14:43though, Beating Indiana? Come on, didn't you know going
- 14:47to this gets back to look. It's easy for me to say after
- 14:50the fact that all I was going to bet Michigan with the points.
- 14:54I don't really bet anymore to be honest with you.
- 14:55I used to love betting on sports.
- 14:56But that Indiana game, same deal.
- 14:59I knew Ohio State was going to win that game relatively easily.
- 15:02Whatever the I don't remember what the final score was, but
- 15:05I'm like Ohio State to win 1721 points, whatever it was like I
- 15:09knew that game wasn't going to be close.
- 15:10I would have 100% bet Ohio State in that game.
- 15:14In the same way I I said you don't have to believe me, but I
- 15:16would have bet Michigan with the points on Saturday.
- 15:19I I never thought Michigan was going to win the game.
- 15:21Don't get me wrong, but I thought that game was going to
- 15:23be closer and, and Ryan Day shows why a lot of people
- 15:27thought that because he is freaking shaky versus Michigan.
- 15:31So Hummus Hero says there shouldn't be a motivation factor
- 15:35in the game, but a let down is still possible.
- 15:36I just, I don't, I'm sorry, I don't care.
- 15:41I, I don't care what what Indiana's ranking was.
- 15:45I know they were top five, whatever.
- 15:47The same with Penn State. Look, Penn State is a better
- 15:49overall program obviously than Indiana, but Michigan is the
- 15:53game. I understand Penn State's better
- 15:55this year. I understand Indiana's better
- 15:57this year. But Ohio State, Michigan,
- 16:00there's just a different level to that game.
- 16:03All right, let's see, we got daily shorts coming back.
- 16:08Class of 2001, Brian Daley hung out with Kozlowski, Cran Duska.
- 16:13All right, buddy. Brian, appreciate that, man.
- 16:15We're just having a little Whitmer High School talk here.
- 16:17OK, it's all good. Let's see and we'll go back to
- 16:23Jason 12345 straight in Ann Arbor with Bryce Underwood.
- 16:27Love you guys. We'll see, we'll see.
- 16:30This was the year to get them. This was the year to get
- 16:33Michigan. Next year they got the number
- 16:35one recruit in the country coming in.
- 16:36It was a down year for Michigan. Who?
- 16:39We'll see. I will say this though, the
- 16:40rivalry at least is interesting and fun.
- 16:44Again, even though it's not fun for Ohio State fans right now.
- 16:47There is a long stretch. Look, you can make the case 1520
- 16:50years, almost at least 15 years from Trestle through Urban
- 16:53Meyer. This wasn't even a game, folks.
- 16:56And remember, I'm 42 years old. Growing up in the John Cooper
- 17:00era where Ohio State lost every year, Ohio State was like 10:00
- 17:05and 1:11 and 1:00 or 10:00 and 1:11 and O every year.
- 17:09They'd always face a Michigan team that was like 8 and three.
- 17:12They would always lose to Lloyd Carr.
- 17:15Remember Bianca Batuca game? This now feels like the John
- 17:19Cooper era. Now Michigan's winning every
- 17:22year, 4 straight years. And I should have known because
- 17:25Ohio State fans got way too lucky for all those years, 1520
- 17:31years where they just slapped around Michigan under the
- 17:34trestle and the Urban Meyer years for 15 to 20 years.
- 17:38That's not normal, right? It'll probably never happen
- 17:41again. Could happen the opposite way,
- 17:43though. Like, do you think Michigan is
- 17:45now ready to go on a crazy run and win like seven or eight in a
- 17:49row versus Ohio State? I don't think they are.
- 17:51First of all, if they even win. Look, I'll go on a limb and say
- 17:57I don't know if Ryan Day is going to be fired.
- 17:59We'll see. We'll see how they do in the
- 18:00College Football Playoff. I would think if Ryan Day loses
- 18:03to Michigan next year, he's not the coach of your Ohio State
- 18:06Buckeyes in 2026. That's what I would guess.
- 18:11Let's go down here. Hummus hero.
- 18:14This year feels like 1996 was that the Bianca Patuca year
- 18:18sought have been like 1314 years old.
- 18:20That was the most devastating one to me.
- 18:22I don't remember all of them. I mean some of those Michigan
- 18:25teams were obviously pretty damn good, like the Charles Woodson
- 18:281917. By the way, Speaking of Toledo,
- 18:32Whitmer high School area, Charles Woodson, Fremont Ross
- 18:35High School, by far the best, the best high school football
- 18:39player I've ever seen. I remember a game I think I was
- 18:42in like 7th or 8th grade watching Charles Woodson play
- 18:44versus Whitmer my high school and I think he scored like 4
- 18:48different ways, like a rushing touchdown, a receiving
- 18:50touchdown, a return, a kick return, whatever.
- 18:53It was a pick. The most unbelievable high
- 18:55school football player I've ever seen in my entire life.
- 18:58Easy. Charles Woodson.
- 19:00Not even not even close. All right, let's get to OK, 95
- 19:05was the Tim Bianca Batuka year. So what was 96?
- 19:08Let me know. I forget.
- 19:10I I don't have the greatest memory.
- 19:12It's all good. OK, let's get to the flag
- 19:16planting stuff because that's been obviously the big story of
- 19:19college football and specifically with this game.
- 19:22And I did a little video on this.
- 19:23Got a lot of people watching on the shorts.
- 19:26I just thought that was such an overreaction from specifically
- 19:29Gus Johnson on the broadcast. Just trying to act like, you
- 19:33know, that was the worst thing ever and that was this
- 19:36ridiculous embarrassment. I will say this now, I'm
- 19:39reacting at the time, live watching, watching what's going
- 19:43on. It's flag planting.
- 19:45OK, Michigan, plant the flag. They won.
- 19:48I think Michigan should be able to plant the flag after they
- 19:50beat Ohio State in a game where they're not supposed to win,
- 19:54right? But I have no problem with Ohio
- 19:56State defending their turf, their stadium and and taking the
- 20:00flag. Jack Sawyer ripping the flag and
- 20:03all that. This has been going on for a
- 20:04long time. I remember when I was working in
- 20:06Lansing, MI, the Ronzuk, Illinois team planted the flag
- 20:10at Michigan State. This was like 2000.
- 20:14Probably 2006, I'm guessing, don't quote me on that, but 2000
- 20:19and six 2007. That was a huge story.
- 20:21We had a a story with Ronzook at the the media day the next year,
- 20:24the summer in Chicago where he laughed about it like it's fun.
- 20:28I understand you don't want people to get hurt.
- 20:29And that's where look, in my opinion, first of all, these
- 20:33aren't these aren't church church boys, right?
- 20:35This is what Ohio State, Michigan is always about.
- 20:37And that's why I like as a broadcast crew and Fox, you
- 20:41can't criticize and say how much of an embarrassment this is.
- 20:44And then you're going to use this in your montage for years
- 20:47to come with Ohio State ribbon down the banner with the Charles
- 20:51Woodson David Boston fight with all of the the the mid midfield
- 20:56pregame fights that always happened, right?
- 20:59This didn't bother me one bit. And look, Ohio State, you can
- 21:02say sore losers. I totally get it.
- 21:03I saw some video of a Michigan dude throwing a water bottle.
- 21:06I'm not saying it's good, folks. That's not what I'm saying, but
- 21:09it's not that big of a deal. It just isn't.
- 21:11I will say the one thing after the fact that I think was really
- 21:15wrong. What do you guys think is do you
- 21:18really think the pepper spray was necessary, right?
- 21:21Do you really think that scuffle got to a point where pepper
- 21:25spraying players and you saw some reporters getting pepper
- 21:28sprayed, right? They're doing interviews about
- 21:31it. Like do you really think that
- 21:32that tussle got to the point where you needed the pepper
- 21:36spray? The players that were out there,
- 21:39like, I get it, They're fighting.
- 21:41Fights happen at the end of a football game.
- 21:42They're probably like Ohio State fan cops, right?
- 21:46They're like, oh, they're all mad that Ohio State lost again.
- 21:49They're just out there pepper spraying Michigan players.
- 21:52Look, I have all the respect in the world for law enforcement,
- 21:55but I think that was pretty soft.
- 21:57That was some Paul Blart mall cop action from the law
- 22:02enforcement there. I don't think there was any
- 22:04reason that pepper spray needed to be deployed in that
- 22:08situation. So what do you think?
- 22:09And by the way, there was like a bunch of other games where flag
- 22:12planting was going on. Again, I'm not saying it's the
- 22:15greatest thing ever. Like, I get it, but it's not
- 22:17that big of a deal. This is what rivalry week
- 22:20football is about, has always been about.
- 22:22This is what Ohio State, Michigan has always been about.
- 22:26That's what makes it fun. It's the passion.
- 22:28So to me, stop clutching pearls about that.
- 22:32It's just not that big of a deal.
- 22:33And so the broadcast crew, Gus specifically, was kind of
- 22:37pissing me off just talking about how much of an
- 22:39embarrassment. But I get it, it gets clicks.
- 22:41They they they hung on it on the broadcast and a lot of people
- 22:45are watching it is it's fascinating to watch a bunch of
- 22:48dudes fighting at midfield, right?
- 22:51I just didn't think it was that big of a deal, especially we're
- 22:54talking about 250 pound, £300 dudes who are ramming their
- 22:58heads into each other and giving each other CTE once a week for
- 23:02three hours on the football field.
- 23:03And then we're going to clutch pearls when they fight after the
- 23:06game. They've been literally fighting
- 23:08and beating each other's brains in for three hours straight and
- 23:11you're really, you're really that surprised and shocked when
- 23:14they fight after the game, Especially in literally the
- 23:18biggest and best rivalry, not just in college football.
- 23:22Is it fair to say it's still, is it still the best rivalry in all
- 23:25sports? I remember when Sports
- 23:26Illustrated, I think HBO did the documentary 2025 years ago,
- 23:31whenever it was Ohio State, Michigan was ranked the number
- 23:34one rivalry in all sports. I don't know if it still is.
- 23:37It is to me, but that's the type of passion you get from this
- 23:40game. That's why I'm so happy the
- 23:41passion is back. Four years ago, I remember I was
- 23:44on the radio. We had Orlando Pace on the
- 23:46radio, another guy from the Toledo area, Sandusky, OH, And I
- 23:50said this is when Ohio State had won like a million in a row.
- 23:53And I said, I hate to say this, but I feel like Michigan had to
- 23:56win that game for the rivalry, right?
- 23:58This is four years ago. He kind of agreed with me.
- 24:02But then you don't want Ohio State to go on as an Ohio State
- 24:04fan. You don't want them, of course,
- 24:06to go on and and lose four straight when you go back and
- 24:09forth, All right? But then again, I understand if
- 24:11you're a Michigan fan, you're like, dude, Ohio State smoked us
- 24:14for literally 20 years and now Michigan's getting their revenge
- 24:18the last four. OK, let's go to your comments.
- 24:21Get your comments and questions, and I'll go for about 5 more
- 24:23minutes here. Hummus hero says 96 was the year
- 24:27Sean Springs slipped. OK, here's my guy, Keith Adams.
- 24:31This is what I was talking about.
- 24:32So yeah, how about the broadcast team acting like the fight was
- 24:35the worst thing in the world when they're going to use as a
- 24:37promo for next year's game? Yeah, I said that that was my
- 24:39point the whole way. This is what the game's about,
- 24:41folks. This is what it's about.
- 24:44Again, I don't want anybody to be pepper sprayed, but I don't
- 24:46think people needed to be pepper sprayed.
- 24:48So all those mall cops need to relax there.
- 24:50OK. I think they were pissed.
- 24:51They probably bet on Ohio State in the game and those cops were
- 24:54pissed about it. All right, so Mike Duggan says
- 24:58fax, hummus, OSU great some what the years.
- 25:04So there you go. Get your questions in comments.
- 25:07And like I said, I'll go a couple more minutes here.
- 25:09I'll make sure I go 30 minutes on this.
- 25:11This is a a baseball site, usually Saint Louis Cardinals.
- 25:14But let me tell you this, by the way, as I, as I go off on a
- 25:19tangent here, I do want this to be a College Football Playoff
- 25:21channel for the next couple weeks.
- 25:23I'm very excited for the College Football Playoff and it it was a
- 25:27couple days ago because obviously you know, the format,
- 25:2912 teams and Bis and whatnot. But I'm thinking when are these
- 25:32games played? Because I hadn't looked up like,
- 25:35are they going to take a week off here and there?
- 25:37And I'm telling you, this is going to be really, really fun.
- 25:41You have championship week coming up this Saturday, right?
- 25:45Probably a game on Friday usually also.
- 25:49But Saturday, championship week, we'll have the College Football
- 25:52Playoff show. They'll announce who the teams
- 25:56are and what not. Can't wait for that.
- 25:59And everybody takes a week off. So that week of what, the 14th,
- 26:03they take off. And then so think, OK, so this
- 26:06is Friday, December 20th night game, ABC, the first first round
- 26:11game in the College Football Playoffs.
- 26:12So that Friday night, you get one game at night, pretty
- 26:14awesome. The next day, that Saturday, you
- 26:17get three games starting at 11, and then 3:00 and 7:00 you have
- 26:22the entire day, three College Football Playoff first round
- 26:27games. That's awesome.
- 26:28That's Saturday, December 21st, OK.
- 26:30Then you got Christmas. Oh, it's Christmas with your
- 26:33family. It's a great time, OK,
- 26:35Everybody's having a great time. And then the next week, OK, so
- 26:39I'm trying to find it. You got Christmas, da, da, da.
- 26:43Then you go to New Year's Eve, OK, now you have the
- 26:46quarterfinal games. Quarterfinal games.
- 26:49I'm going to take my guy Mike Duggan off the screen here.
- 26:52Although I love you, Mike. Thank you for comments.
- 26:54But New Year's Eve, another night game on that Tuesday, OK,
- 27:00of New Year's Eve, 630 quarterfinal game, Fiesta Bowl.
- 27:03Then on that Wednesday, which is New Year's Day, noon game four,
- 27:07O clock game 745 game another all day of College Football
- 27:12Playoff games, quarterfinals, it's Peach Bowl, it's Rose Bowl,
- 27:16it's Sugar Bowl. Then obviously you're down to
- 27:18the final four. OK, so we wait a little bit.
- 27:21College Football Playoff semi final on a Thursday.
- 27:25So Thursday night, January 9th, Orange Bowl 630 on a Thursday,
- 27:32then the next day. So these games are by themselves
- 27:35not on the same day. Friday, January 10th is the
- 27:38Cotton Bowl, those games both at 6:30.
- 27:41And then you wait 10 more days for the College Football Playoff
- 27:44National championship game, which is in Atlanta, right?
- 27:49In Atlanta, 630 on a Monday. So here's what I think is
- 27:52underrated about the College Football Playoff.
- 27:55The bowl season didn't mean anything the last several years
- 28:00during the College Football Playoff because dudes were
- 28:03opting out. There were only three bowl games
- 28:06that really mattered, let's be real, College Football Playoff,
- 28:09semi finals and the national championship game and all these
- 28:11players that weren't in the College Football Playoff were
- 28:14opting out. You went from three interesting
- 28:17bowl games over the course of 11 days to now having I think the
- 28:22math is 11 interesting bowl games spread over a full month
- 28:28right from December 20th, whatever it is 21st, whatever it
- 28:31is to January 20th. This is going to be super fun
- 28:34guys. I can't wait for this new
- 28:36College Football Playoff. So here we go.
- 28:39Keith Adams says sorry about Duke versus North Carolina.
- 28:43Best rivalry and hoops. I disagree.
- 28:47Ohio State, Michigan is better all time.
- 28:50OSU coming for some revenge in the playoffs.
- 28:51Scarlett and Gray till the end. We shall see.
- 28:53I saw, did I see a, a mock that had maybe Ohio State playing at
- 28:58Tennessee first round. What have you guys seen?
- 29:01I haven't looked at everything. Let's see OSU VS U of M Florida
- 29:05State versus Florida ACC got a lot of hard hitting games.
- 29:09Mclovin says Duke versus North Carolina put the crack pipe
- 29:13down. All right, on that note, I do
- 29:16have to go folks, I have to go. Thank you for watching and
- 29:19please support the sponsors of this beautiful show and live
- 29:22stream. Triad Bank, Triad banking.com.
- 29:24If you're in the Saint Louis area, best place to bank.
- 29:27Best decision I ever made for my rental property business,
- 29:30bringing my commercial loans from a big National Bank that
- 29:32doesn't care about me to a local bank, Triad Bank, the customer
- 29:36service, my guy Matthew Tobin, top notch.
- 29:39You also have Corner Butcher over there in Valley Park in the
- 29:43same building as Chophouse, now the beautiful restaurant they
- 29:45have Corner Butcher West in Ellisville.
- 29:48Check both those out for all your grilling needs.
- 29:50If you want to get a good lunch, get a good dinner, then you have
- 29:53Saint Louis Lawn care stllawncare.com, my guy.
- 29:56Tim Jenkerson, St. Louis Equipment for your mowers.
- 30:00Buy a mower, get your mower fixed.
- 30:01They have the best brands. Skag Hustler, right?
- 30:05I got some small engine machines there, a Husqvarna blower.
- 30:08That's the fuel, the gas oil mix.
- 30:10I have a battery operated Crest trimmer.
- 30:13They do it all battery fuel. You can get your mulch there,
- 30:17your rock. St.
- 30:18Louis equipment, Saint Louis lawn care.
- 30:20They do it all. All right, Hummus hero, one more
- 30:23time here. The narrative that the expanded
- 30:25playoff would make the regular season less meaningful was
- 30:27bogus. This has been the most
- 30:29interesting season in a long time.
- 30:31Well said. I'm also very happy about that.
- 30:34The Ohio State, Michigan game, you thought, oh, it didn't
- 30:36matter because Michigan wasn't going to make the playoff
- 30:38anyway. Ohio State was, folks, pretty
- 30:40obvious that game still mattered, which is great to see.
- 30:43And then Keith Adams says army versus Navy.
- 30:47OK, but actually for a game that matters, I know.
- 30:50Look, the pageantry, those guys, they're going to fight for a
- 30:54country. We love them.
- 30:55It is great. It's a great game.
- 30:57I understand that argument for a competition, competitive, actual
- 31:01game, that usually matters in the rankings in the College
- 31:04Football Playoff, Big 10 championship, national
- 31:06championship picture. It's Ohio State, Michigan.
- 31:08But I can't argue with Army Navy.
- 31:10I'm not going to argue against Army Navy.
- 31:11I get that hummus Hero says thanks man good stuff.
- 31:14Thank you to all of you as well. Comment like subscribe.
- 31:18I'll be doing some more college football stuff.
- 31:20I'll be doing Saint Louis Cardinal stuff if they ever do
- 31:22anything interesting. Thanks once again.
- 31:25Tried bank Saint Louis lawn care, Saint Louis equipment,
- 31:27corner butcher and chophouse. We will see you guys later.
- 31:31Thanks.
