- 1:40So now with that, let's get started.
- 1:42Today's conversation is with nutritionist, natural food chef, and four-time best selling author, Leanna Werner Gray, author of The Truth About Seed Oils, How the Heart Healthy Myth Made Us Sick and How to Heal with Real Fats.
- 1:59Um, your roadmap to reclaiming vibrant health one meal at a time.
- 2:04Liana, my friend, welcome so much to the 10penny files.
- 2:08I'm glad we could finally connect and thank you so much for being here.
- 2:11And congratulations on your new book, because we really need to know more about seed oils.
- 2:16Yes, we do.
- 2:18People have been misled about seed oils for a long time.
- 2:21And thank you so much for having me on the legendary Sharon uh Sherry Tenpenny show.
- 2:27And I just love you, and we go way back and just so grateful to know you and be your friend and be here on your new show.
- 2:36Well, this is things.
- 2:37We've been doing we've been on this platform for about six months now.
- 2:40We've been doing podcasting for about six years.
- 2:43And so we were really growing and having such great people on our shows like yourself.
- 2:48So why don't we start with you telling us how seed oils became so widespread into modern diets?
- 2:55And how did they get their start being added to our food when most everyone is concerned about them?
- 3:01Yeah, actually, it goes the history is is appalling.
- 3:04And once people hear this, they're never going to want to eat seed oils again.
- 3:08Seed oils were never created for human consumption.
- 3:13They were actually created for the World War One way back, World War I, World War II, to lubricant the machinery in the war, the war machinery.
- 3:23And then they also use seed oils like vegetable oil for soaps as well.
- 3:28And so after and this soybean oil, vegetable oils, and then after the war, they had all this leftover seed oils.
- 3:37And they were like, what do we do with it?
- 3:40Well, because the government was already subsidizing it.
- 3:42It was massive crops.
- 3:44They said, let's put it into the food.
- 3:45And so they hired influencers at the time to show America how they could put it into the food.
- 3:53So they did a bunch of cookbooks with it.
- 3:56And they show people you should be doing seed oils instead of doing grass-fed butter because it's heart healthy, and they built this entire thing around it saying that it was good for us, but it's not.
- 4:10And also, you know, canola oil then came later.
- 4:13And canola oil you cannot even find in nature.
- 4:16God did not create canola oil.
- 4:18Canola oil was created in a lab.
- 4:21It's all genetically engineered.
- 4:23And it so some people will see organic non-GMO canola oil.
- 4:29And some restaurants will say, well, we use the highest quality non-GMO organic canola oil.
- 4:35It's not possible that that label is completely fraudulent on canola oil because it's impossible for canola oil to be organic because it was created in a lab.
- 4:45It was never created from God in nature.
- 4:48And so God did not design our bodies to consume seed oils.
- 4:53And they create oxidative stress immediately in the brain.
- 4:56And you know, in my book, I talk about all of the dangers in it that it's linked to in terms of cancer, Alzheimer's, dimension, and it the oxidative stress is the biggest issue.
- 5:07There's even a study that we can get more into that Dr.
- 5:10Mark Hyman talks about, which is that uh with it's connected to homicide.
- 5:16The oxidative stress in people's brain causes aggression in people, and it the countries that consume more seed oils in specific areas have higher homicide rates.
- 5:28So it's really serious.
- 5:30And obviously, if people Google it, it says seed oils are fine, they're healthy.
- 5:36You know, Stanford doctors and different doctors and experts say it's healthy and it's fine because this is a 500 billion dollar industry, the seed book seed oil industry.
- 5:48How much do we think that they're paying for publicity and marketing and to pay these top doctors and things to say that it's actually safe, but it's not.
- 5:56So, you know, the history is uh is thick, but I'm glad that people are going to learn about the truth in this book.
- 6:04You know, it's um it's really shameful that they created an oil to be used in machines that when they had an excess of it, they ended up putting it in our food.
- 6:13It's like they didn't know where else to put it, so they put it in our food.
- 6:17You know, you've shared in your other books, and you've also shared on um presentations and podcasts where I've heard you you've talked about your own health collapse and then your own health recovery, and then you learned about seed oils and you took them out of your diet.
- 6:31What sort of disant differences did you notice in your own health once you decided to remove these nasty oils from your from what you were eating?
- 6:39Oh, my entire life changed.
- 6:41And I always say like the top two worst things that we consume are refined sugar and seed oils.
- 6:47You know, there is a great debate, like Dr.
- 6:49Kate Shanahan and others say seed oils are number one, worst sugar is number two.
- 6:53I say, you know, refined sugar is worse, and then seed oils, but they're both really bad.
- 6:58And those are the two things that I cut from my diet.
- 7:00That I cut from my diet.
- 7:01I was addicted to fast foods and junk foods processed food.
- 7:01I was addicted to fast foods and junk foods processed food.
- 7:04It was my drug of choice.
- 7:04It was my drug of choice.
- 7:06I was a binge eater for five years.
- 7:06I was a binge eater for five years, and I ended up with a golf ball sized tuma in my lymphatic system.
- 7:09And I ended up with a golf ball sized tumor in my lymphatic system.
- 7:143.7 centimeters.
- 7:143.7 centimeters.
- 7:15I went, did a biopsy.
- 7:15I went did a biopsy.
- 7:17It was early stages of cancer.
- 7:17It was early stages of cancer.
- 7:18They said it hadn't spread anywhere else.
- 7:18They said it hadn't spread anywhere else.
- 7:20But that was a wake-up call that I needed.
- 7:20But that was a wake-up call that I needed.
- 7:22I was also riddled with parasites.
- 7:22I was also riddled with parasites.
- 7:24And so that was a wake-up call for me to change my diet and go back to nature.
- 7:24And so that was a wake up call for me to change my diet and go back to nature and.
- 7:29And that was actually the first time that I prayed in my entire life.
- 7:32I was 21.
- 7:33I never prayed to God before that, wasn't raised knowing God or Jesus.
- 7:37And at 21, I was like, God, if you're real, like I'm open to like help me.
- 7:41Like just I'm open to you, like help me help me.
- 7:44And that's when God led me to create the earth diet.
- 7:47And within that, I for 365 days, I created a blog called the Earth Diet.
- 7:53And the challenge was to eat only foods that came from nature for 365 days.
- 7:58And so this broke my addiction to uh fried foods, fast foods, because I would eat them every day.
- 8:04I would eat McDonald's for lunch, say Pizza Hut for dinner or KFC for lunch and chicken nuggets for dinner, like every single meal was really toxic.
- 8:13And I had eaten so many seed oils.
- 8:16And then when I was doing the blog and eating only foods from nature for 365 days, I went into research mode.
- 8:23And every day I blogged what I ate and I researched a different topic.
- 8:26So I came across seed oils back then, 17 years ago, went down the rabbit hole of canola oil, vegetable oils, which back then they weren't called seed oils.
- 8:36This is a new thing called seed oils.
- 8:38And some people can get confused, like what because there are healthy seed oils, and then they're very toxic seed oils.
- 8:44So we can talk about that, can clear that up too.
- 8:47But that was one of the main things I cut out was refined sugar and seed oils because when we eat from nature, we eat avocado oil and olive oil and coconut oil, tiger nut seed oil, macadamia nut seed oil, sesame seed oil.
- 8:59So I switched all my oils, and within three months, the scope ball size tumor was completely dissolved.
- 9:05And it took a good year for my digestive system, everything, all the weight to come off for me to really have a transformed body and health.
- 9:14But after three months, I mean, I felt better the first day I was doing the earth diet.
- 9:19And then after a week, I'm like, wow, this is the best feeling ever.
- 9:23I can still eat chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, fries, but I'm going to cook them in coconut oil and avocado oil and olive oil.
- 9:31So I was having my cake and eating it too with cleaner oils, and I my brain felt better.
- 9:37I was healing.
- 9:38Also, seed oils support an environment for parasites as well.
- 9:42So I just my whole life changed when I cut out seed oils.
- 9:47And why do you think that so many people are not aware of the potential danger of seed oils?
- 9:52I mean, it's been all over the news, and particularly since uh since Bobby Kennedy's become secretary, and they've changed the uh food diet, uh, food diagram and all these different things.
- 10:01Um, you know, that they and I maybe people don't know what seed oils are.
- 10:06What is the definition of a seed oil?
- 10:09Yeah, so seed oil is a vegetable oil, so it can be vegetable oil, it can be canola oil.
- 10:14There's something called the hateful eight from Dr.
- 10:16Kate Shanahan, and it's cotton seed oil, slab flour oil, peanut oil is on that list too, uh, soybean vegetable set those.
- 10:26Um, yeah, so anything that's not olive, avocado, coconut oil, uh sesame seed oil, those are now in the category of seed oil.
- 10:38But if you see plant oil or vegetable oil, that is a seed oil.
- 10:43That's what it's been coined as these days.
- 10:46And so the reason why people don't know it's so toxic is because we had this old food pyramid for 70 years, and you know, this was a big part of the problem.
- 10:55Ansel Keys back in the day, he had made this discovery, which on his deathbed admitted that actually he was wrong, was that all these middle-aged men were dropping dead of heart attacks.
- 11:06And this was also the time that people were smoking cigarettes, but they never thought, oh, it was from the cigarettes.
- 11:12It we're gonna say it's from the bad fats or the bad fats that they were coining, which was having butter and lard.
- 11:20So they said, now do the seed oils because it's better, uh, no saturated fat, it's better for your heart.
- 11:26And so they created this whole system based on this false findings from Ansel Keys, created the food pyramid, and just told everyone back then that seed oils, vegetable oils were safe, that they're heart healthy, that they will help lower your cholesterol.
- 11:41And people believed this for so long.
- 11:44Now Bobby Kennedy's come along and completely shattered that myth and has now created the new food pyramid.
- 11:51So people are starting to find out, but it's still in the mainstream news, and it's just been taught to people through their generation through their grandparents that you know, canola oil safe, seed oils are safe when actually it's the opposite.
- 12:04They are very highly toxic and they're linked to dimentia, Alzheimer's, cancer, psoriasis, skin issues, acne, uh, even um depression, anxiety.
- 12:14We talked about homicide as well and weight gain.
- 12:17Obviously, they breed help breed parasites.
- 12:19So yeah, and if you Google it, you know, it's just a big machine that we're in, they protect their industry.
- 12:25But I'm here to expose the seed oil corruption and actually tell the people the real truth about seed oils.
- 12:33Well, you know, when I walk through a grocery store and I go down, you know, I've told all my patients for years that you need to shop around the edges, which is where all the fruits and vegetables and meat and dairy and things are, and the only rule row that they're allowed to go down is the one that has toilet paper and laundry.
- 12:50You know, that's just because those are essentials, and you have to get them from the rose somewhere.
- 12:54And when you just and just know sometimes I just walk down the other rows, just see what's there, and I'll pick up a package and I'll read the label and I'll put the package back on the shelf because I just feel like everything in the bright shining packages, the marketing that they've designed for their packaging is really just poison ready to pounce.
- 13:12When when you eat a seed oil, when you eat um like chips or you eat um different, particularly chips, or which are kind of the go-to for everybody, and it's made with uh safflower oil or it's made with um vegetable oil.
- 13:27What does that oil actually do inside of your body?
- 13:31Well, it creates instant inflammation, instant.
- 13:34So people will feel bloated, people will feel sluggish.
- 13:37It creates oxidative stress in the brain, which is the biggest problem, and that can create brain fog.
- 13:43And then if it's, you know, if someone eats a seed oil once every now and then, it's not going to kill them, it's probably not going to harm them.
- 13:50But if someone's eating a seed oil every single day or every other day or on a weekly basis, that's when it builds up in the body and accumulates.
- 13:59So people can experience sluggishness, you know, and I don't recommend trying this at home.
- 14:00People can experience sluggishness, you know, and I don't recommend trying this at home.
- 14:04But if people really want to know for themselves, do a week of eating only clean oils, right?
- 14:04But if people really want to know for themselves, do a week of eating only clean oils, right?
- 14:11Like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, cut out all seed oils, then the following week for seven days, eat only seed oils every single day.
- 14:11Like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, cut out all seed oils, then the following week for seven days, eat only seed oils every single day.
- 14:19And as I'm I'm not recommending this, but after that experiment, you will 100% know that seed oils are so toxic.
- 14:19And as I'm I'm not recommending this, but after that experiment, you will 100% know that seed oils are so toxic.
- 14:26You will feel tired, sluggish.
- 14:26You will feel tired, sluggish.
- 14:28The brain was not designed.
- 14:28The brain was not designed to digest and process seed oils.
- 14:33We need to get back to God's design and how God wanted us to eat and how the body is designed to eat.
- 14:39So yeah, it's a lot worse than people realize.
- 14:44Well, when you do do a seed oil binge, let's say, or you go on a weekend with somebody and you're, you know, you're out with a bunch of your friends or you're with family, and you have uh a picnic and you have pizza and you have uh chips and you have hot dogs and lots of ketchup on your hamburger and all these other things, and you just load up your body just with seed oils because you just do, and that's where you are.
- 15:09Um, how long does it take for your body to process that and get it out of your body and get you back to maybe where you were before you went on that weekend binge?
- 15:20Yeah, well, it's different for each person.
- 15:21It depends how much they how much inflammation they have, and it depends on the metabolism, their digestion.
- 15:27Someone who's very healthy who rarely has it, you know, it could be out of their system within 24 to 48 hours, especially.
- 15:34And if someone does do that, then to help bring the body back, you definitely want to have green juice, celery juice with cucumber, lemon, ginger, that's going to get those seed oils out of the body, get those that omega-3 um omega-6 ratio back in balance and drink chlorophyll water as well.
- 15:53That will help balance it, ginger tea, those things.
- 15:56So if anyone does go out and do that, then that's I always tell my clients that's how you come back.
- 16:01The quickest way to come back is with a big green juice or just chlorophyll in water.
- 16:07And yeah, I mean, for someone who's doing that all the time, then it can take a while for it to get out of their body.
- 16:14So um, you know, and now we live it in the easiest time to be healthy.
- 16:18We have all these upgrades, and I talk about the upgrade system in my first book, The Earth Diet.
- 16:23Um, it's if you want to have chips or whatever you want to have, I always tell my clients this you can have everything now in a natural way that's not toxic.
- 16:32So we have chips that are cooked in avocado oil or even beef teller, they are delicious, and no one will ever know that they're healthy.
- 16:40So that's really cool is when we can have our cake and eat it too, essentially.
- 16:45And like seed oils are in everything these days.
- 16:48Cakes, cookies, processed food, all processed foods have seed oils.
- 16:52And also now it's disguised as soy lethosin.
- 16:55So when you see soy lethosin on a label, it could be soy lethosin, or it could be it, it most likely is a seed oil mixed with the soy lethosin, as in a soybean oil.
- 17:07So they're finding really sneaky ways to put it in.
- 17:10But the gist of it all is go back to nature, eat real foods, whole foods that come from nature, but people have this chemical addiction or this cellular memory to process foods like I had.
- 17:22And so we want to eat things that are enjoyable, like gummy bears or cookies, cakes, burgers, fries.
- 17:28And so the earth diet is a way to be able to eat them in a natural way.
- 17:32So you're still you don't feel deprived, you know, you're enjoying yourself as a human being while you're here on earth, and you're not feeling deprived, but you're still having things like fries and things like that.
- 17:42But for example, like if I go to a restaurant and it's seed oils, I don't have the fries, you know.
- 17:48I have discipline in that way.
- 17:49And I say, okay, well, I'm craving fries now.
- 17:52So tomorrow I'm gonna make some at home, or I'm gonna wait till I go to the fern, for example, in Palm Beach that cook their potatoes in beef tallow.
- 18:00So be very selective, you know, it's just not worth it.
- 18:04Um, but if you do it once in a while, yeah, then just bring yourself back with a green juice.
- 18:09That's really really helpful.
- 18:10You know, I've had other people on the show and they've talked about um ingredients, you know, reading ingredient labels.
- 18:16And if anything has more than three ingredients, usually like you know, potato, salt, and pepper, which is just kind of like enough, you know?
- 18:24Yeah, more than that, and it goes on and there's a bunch of things on there that you can't pronounce and you don't know what they are.
- 18:31Um, why would you eat that and put that in the body?
- 18:34The other side of that is why do they use those things in a um a packaged product and then call it food when they may have 12 different um ingredients in it.
- 18:46Why are all those things in that packaged um thing that they call food?
- 18:51Yeah, well, it's it's just making money at the end of the day.
- 18:56And it shouldn't be cold food.
- 18:57You know, a lot of the food that we see in the supermarkets is not actually food.
- 19:01So, you know, it's it's fake food, it's dead food, it's Franken food, we call it.
- 19:06So it's just a way for companies to make money.
- 19:09And I learned this with making a supplement.
- 19:11I have a supplement for anxiety, and when I was making it, the formulators were like, well, you know, we could add this to it.
- 19:17We could add, we can add a filler to it.
- 19:20And I was like, why would we do that?
- 19:22You know, I could add rice to it, and they're like, well, you're gonna make a lot more money per bottle.
- 19:26And I was like, you know what?
- 19:27I don't care about that actually.
- 19:29Obviously, it's a business have to make money, but at the end of the day, you know, I want my product to be fully just what people are paying for.
- 19:37A hundred percent they're getting all of the ingredients from the supplement with nothing else.
- 19:41So it all just comes down to people just trying to make money, you know, and we need to not support them.
- 19:48And we vote with our dollar.
- 19:50So yeah.
- 19:51So a lot of the ingredients also are like to prolong shelf life, correct?
- 19:56Yes, that's true.
- 19:58Exactly.
- 19:58Yeah.
- 19:59Whenever we eat processed foods that, you know, the shelf life is two years, we're like, it's not a not ideal.
- 20:06Yeah.
- 20:07You know, I was at um, I was at Mike Adams' um studio.
- 20:11This would have been about a year ago in June.
- 20:14I was out there, I was had done some traveling and was was in his studio, and he had a um a jar sitting on his shelf, and it was a hamburger from McDonald's, and it had a couple of little holes in the top, and it'd been sitting there for for four years and it had not degraded.
- 20:32And so that it was just uh a very great root visual visual of the things that they call food that aren't food.
- 20:40I, you know, will tell people that you know the American Academy of Lifestyle Medicine.
- 20:44Um, I really like their diet because anybody can do it.
- 20:48The first thing is eat real food.
- 20:50And so, you know, things that come in a can or a jar, they hand you out a window is not real food, you know, and eat mostly fruits and vegetables, eat organic, eat uh real quality meat, and don't eat so much, eat smaller portions.
- 21:00Uh, real quality meat and don't eat so much.
- 21:03Eat smaller portions.
- 21:04And so that just makes it really straightforward because there are literally hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of different diets on the on the market.
- 21:04And so that just makes it really straightforward because there are literally hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of different diets on the on the market.
- 21:12I had a gal that used to work for me.
- 21:12I had a gal that used to work for me, this was quite a few years ago, that I wanted to know how many different diets were out there.
- 21:14This was quite a few years ago that I wanted to know how many different diets were out there.
- 21:19So she spent like two weeks going to like Amazon and Barnes and Nobles, and she she stopped at 1200 diet.
- 21:19So she spent like two weeks going to like Amazon and Barnes and Nobles, and she she stopped at 1200 diets, and it was wow.
- 21:28And it was wow.
- 21:30We don't need that.
- 21:31We just need, like Bobby Kennedy says, eat real food.
- 21:35Oh, in your food, you know, in your plan in your book, um, the about the truth about seed oils.
- 21:41You have recipes and you have different suggestions for snacks.
- 21:45Uh, before we go to the break, tell people about some recipes, simple recipes that they could do or simple snacks that they can switch out from their seed oil, junky snacks to something that's more healthy.
- 21:58Yeah.
- 21:58So I just opened to the recipe section here.
- 22:00So there's something for every type of eater.
- 22:03There's vegan and also meat eater, and there's a lot of snacks and desserts too.
- 22:07So my chocolate superfood bowls, those are the original first recipe I ever made when I was healing.
- 22:14And those are made with almond flour, cacao powder.
- 22:18You could add some almond butter or even peanut butter, uh, and then a bit of MCT oil, some hemp seeds, make them superfood, all so delicious, a bit of sea salt.
- 22:27So those are a great go to if people just need a quick little dose of magnesium, antioxidants to relieve stress.
- 22:35And then I've also got a recipe in here from my chicken bone broth soup, which is a process that's a three-hour process, but so worth it, making a big batch.
- 22:45If anyone's getting any sinus issues or sniffles, you make that and drink that chicken bone broth, you're gonna be healed instantly.
- 22:52It's so, you know, it's very, very powerful.
- 22:55This recipe.
- 22:56Uh, it's also we've got mini cashew cheesecakes in here, baked pasta.
- 23:01Uh, we have recipes with olive oil.
- 23:03We have homemade salad dressing recipes too.
- 23:06You know, save your money.
- 23:07Don't buy salad dressing recipe uh salad dressings.
- 23:10They're full of seed oils and also refined sugar and preservatives and crazy things like that.
- 23:16So you can make your own salad dressing.
- 23:18Um, there's over 50 recipes in here.
- 23:21There's pancakes, there's salmon, there's creamy tomato soup, there's a quinoa salad, beet brownies, a macadamia nut salad, uh buttery popcorn, bulletproof coffee.
- 23:34Yeah, some really, really delicious uh recipes in here.
- 23:37We've got Dr.
- 23:38Jess's golden anti-inflammatory rice bowl with Herbie lemon chicken.
- 23:43Hopefully, everyone's getting hungry by now.
- 23:46I think that's true.
- 23:47You know, the show it's it's right before dinner.
- 23:50So it's at it airs at 3 p.m.
- 23:52Eastern.
- 23:52So, you know, I hope this makes uh people get makes their salivary glands start kicking in and start going.
- 23:58So it's really, really good.
- 23:59You know, you mentioned salad dressings, and I think that that is the number one culprit for seed oils that people don't realize how bad it is.
- 24:08You know, when I first started getting learning about seed oils, a lot of it was from you and I've and from other people that I was reading about.
- 24:15Uh, that was one of the first things I did as I came home and I threw all the seed, all of my salad dressings out that I like.
- 24:21And I was gonna donate them to the food bank, and I thought, why should I give poison to poor people to eat when it's not good for me to eat?
- 24:29No, I'm just going to dump it out and get and uh go get something else, or better, just make my own with you know vinegar and olive oil.
- 24:37I had um Dr.
- 24:38Patrick Porter from The Brain Tap tell me that if people just ate uh just a tablespoon of olive oil a day, not mixing it with anything else, but just uh a tablespoon of olive oil, or you could put it on your salad or on your vegetables, but really just a tablespoon of olive oil without heating it up, that it would decrease your risk of Alzheimer's by like 30%.
- 24:59It was huge just from that, just with that putting that healthy oil in your body.
- 25:04What do you think about that?
- 25:05Yeah, I've seen studies on that, and I think that that's very true.
- 25:08And Dr.
- 25:09Gundry talks about that as well.
- 25:10And you know, I love taking shots of olive oil.
- 25:13Sometimes I feel like I just crave it.
- 25:14I feel like my brain is just needing fats, and I'll just go and take a swig of olive oil.
- 25:19So I think that's a great hack.
- 25:21Do you make a difference between um with ultra fine or fine olive oil?
- 25:26Or how would you uh uh advise people to pick an olive oil to buy?
- 25:32Yes, you know, I just interviewed Evie from CoPA Foods last week and from my channel for Instagram, and she was talking about how when we go to the supermarket, especially cost going by olive oil, that they don't actually have to list it.
- 25:48That if you're buying cheap olive oil, it most likely is cut with vegetable oil and seed oils.
- 25:55There's no regulation that they have to say that on the label.
- 25:59So it's very important where we source good olive oil.
- 26:02So I love sourcing it from Co-Pow foods because she is she vets everything, Evie, and the olive oil she sources from California and from Italy, and she knows it's 100% olive oil.
- 26:16And you can do a test.
- 26:17You can put your olive oil in the fridge.
- 26:19If it sets hard, it is real olive oil.
- 26:22If it doesn't, if it stays liquid, it is seed oil or mixed with seed oil.
- 26:27You want to stay away from buying cheap olive oil.
- 26:30So very important what you're sourcing.
- 26:32And you know, don't don't buy it from Spain as well.
- 26:36Um, just gonna call Spain out because they sold out a few years ago to Monsanto, and so 80% of the GMO foods in Europe come from Spain.
- 26:46People don't realize that.
- 26:47People think, oh, Spain's so healthy Mediterranean.
- 26:50No, it's not.
- 26:50It's contaminated, and now all of their crops are contaminated.
- 26:54So stay away from any olive oil that says Spain.
- 26:57And uh actually some Italian brands will source it from Spain, but say it's Italian olive oil.
- 27:04So you really you really want to know the brands.
- 27:06But this is why on my website, you know, I vet brands.
- 27:08I personally know them, certain brands.
- 27:11I've been doing this 17 years.
- 27:12I I like to meet the farmers, the owners, and so yeah, everything's heavily vetted.
- 27:18Wow, and that's a really good test that everybody can do just really easily.
- 27:21Put your put your olive oil in the fruit in the freezer and see what happens.
- 27:25Another thing that I was advised was to buy only buy olive oil in glass bottles, not in plastic bottles.
- 27:32Always a better thing to do too.
- 27:35So I think this is a good place.
- 27:36Just hold that thought, Liana.
- 27:38Hold that thought we're gonna take a quick break to hear from our sponsors for America Outloud.news.

- 34:41I exercised, ate a healthy diet, and had no symptoms when a routine mammogram resulted in a cancer diagnosis.
- 34:48It revealed a hard truth.
- 34:50Even healthy people can get cancer.
- 34:52And much of modern medicine is reactive, not preventative.
- 34:56So I began asking a different question.
- 34:58What can we do daily to support the body before something goes wrong?
- 35:00The body before something goes wrong.

- 37:29Born and raised in the Australian Outback.
- 37:31Liana has been a dual citizen in America and my friend for a long time, since about 2010.
- 37:38Liana, welcome so much to the show today, and thank you so much for being here.
- 37:42Thank you, Sherry.
- 37:43Thank you for having me.
- 37:44And I remember the first time we met, I was blown away.
- 37:48I was at an event.
- 37:49We were speaking at an event with Dr.
- 37:50Batar.
- 37:51Dr.
- 37:51Batal was there.
- 37:52And I remember listening to you, and it was the first time I'd really learned about vaccines, and I was always wondering about it.
- 37:58And being just naturally inclined, I figured, you know, they weren't good, but you just confirmed everything for me and just blew me away.
- 38:05And I went up to you and I gave you the biggest hug after.
- 38:08I don't know if you remember, but I was like, I love you.
- 38:10I'm so grateful for you.
- 38:11And then we've been friends ever since that day.
- 38:14It was so special.
- 38:16That's great.
- 38:16Well, thank you for that little endorsement.
- 38:18You know, you said in your book, the truth about seed oils that food is more than just physical nourishment.
- 38:25And I know you personally well enough and how important spirituality is to your life and your message and your healing.
- 38:32How does removing processed oils affect both emotional and spiritual healing?
- 38:39Yeah, well, you know, sick people, we've all heard this.
- 38:43Sick people have just one goal, right?
- 38:46To get better.
- 38:47And seed oils just make us feel terrible.
- 38:50And they are linked to depression, anxiety, uh, Alzheimer's dementia.
- 38:55So we know that they affect the brain.
- 38:56We know that they affect our emotions.
- 38:58And so uh removing them, we just feel so much better, so much stronger.
- 39:03And also when we are sick and just bog down and wait down, it does affect our relationship with God because I mean, well, unless people press into God and like really dependent on him for help, but um, we don't, we're not able to live our purpose and be able to serve as well if we're emotionally not well, physically not well, spiritually not well.
- 39:24So, you know, for me, when I was sick, I was just consumed with getting well.
- 39:29And also when I was binge eating on junk food, I was consumed with the addiction because these foods are highly addictive.
- 39:35Fast foods, those fats are highly addictive.
- 39:38And so it just it changed, it's everything really.
- 39:42And you know, I was craving fried foods, fast foods every single day, and I would eat them every single day.
- 39:47And so we need healthy fats.
- 39:49If we deprive ourselves of healthy fats, we will crave the bad fats.
- 39:54So, and I started nourishing my body with all the good healthy fats, the good healthy oils, eating things like avocado, walnuts, grass-fed beef, wild salmon.
- 40:04I stopped craving fast foods, and I was like, wow, I I'm not craving them at all.
- 40:10You know, for that year, that every single day that I did the earth diet that I ate from nature, I didn't even think about fast foods.
- 40:16I was so nourished with the good healthy fats.
- 40:20Interesting.
- 40:21That's really interesting.
- 40:22How does it, how does um your spirituality play into good food and healthy fats?
- 40:29Well, you know, I've submitted my will to the Lord to the best that I can, and always every day doing that.
- 40:35And in that I've learned that God designed our bodies to eat certain foods.
- 40:40And you know, I I list love diving into the Bible.
- 40:43I have my the word of God right here.
- 40:46And it's just all laid out for us, how to eat, what to eat, what not to eat, and we know that the you know, what Jesus would have eaten.
- 40:55We know that when we study the scriptures, and it was all healthy fats and olive and olive oil was a big part of their diet, one of the top 10 biblical foods.
- 41:05So we know that they were eating healthy fats all the way back then and things like fish and lamb as well.
- 41:11We know that.
- 41:12So it just goes back thousands of years, and it's what worked.
- 41:17And so, you know, when we submit our will to God and we say, okay, God, my body's a temple for the Holy Spirit.
- 41:24What do you want me to eat today?
- 41:26God wants us to eat healthy fats every single day, and not those foods that are created by man, um, but also the enemy, the devil is, you know, he is running rampant right now on earth and contaminating everything the water, the food, the air, and forcing, you know, vaccines on people and all of that um to contaminate people's bodies.
- 41:47And so when we eat foods that God created for us, we are in alignment with that, and we can our bodies can host the holy spirit, and we need to stop eating foods that come from the enemy because that's what the enemy wants.
- 41:59The enemy wants you to eat seed oils and all of that toxic stuff every single day because it cuts people's lives short.
- 42:00Wants you to eat seed oils and all of that toxic stuff every single day because it cuts people's lives short.
- 42:08You know, people are cutting their life short.
- 42:08You know, people are cutting their life short.
- 42:10The Bible says that we can live for 120 years.
- 42:10The Bible says that we can live for 120 years.
- 42:14The people living for 60 years, 80 years, 90 years, you know, and they're cutting their life short.
- 42:14The people living for 60 years, 80 years, 90 years, you know, and they're cutting their life short.
- 42:21They're not able to live out their full purpose that God has destined for them because they are consumed with health problems.
- 42:21They're not able to live out their full purpose that God has destined for them because they are consumed with health problems.
- 42:28You know, so this is a problem.
- 42:28You know, so this is a problem, and I
- 42:29And I lived with chronic health issues for five years, which for some people seems very short because they've lived for with chronic health issues for a lot longer.
- 42:37But that five years was living hell for me.
- 42:40And I remember it.
- 42:42I remember how it felt.
- 42:43And so, you know, now lining up with eating God's foods, life is completely different.
- 42:49So that's just my hope for everyone is that they would do the same thing and experience that.
- 42:54But there is a detox that needs to happen with most people when they're coming from processed foods or eating fruits from the enemy, coming back to in alignment with eating God's foods.
- 43:04There usually is a detox, and it usually it's really tough, usually the first year, but after that, it's smooth sailing.
- 43:11But most people give up and they don't stick to it for a year.
- 43:14That's true.
- 43:15That's true.
- 43:16Well, what are some surprising foods that people may think are health foods that they may not realize that seed oils are hiding in those foods?
- 43:25Yeah, uh, well, we talked about salad dressings, right?
- 43:29People go to a restaurant thinking they're eating healthy, they're having some salad dressing when it's actually really toxic with the seed oil and refined sugar.
- 43:37Um, protein bars, like Quest protein bars, people think that those are healthy.
- 43:42Those are a toxic balm.
- 43:45Quest protein bars you want to stay away from.
- 43:47Like the original protein bar is grass-fed beef or you know, organic turkey, organic chicken, just pure protein, like nick sticks, for example, that is just pure meat, no nitrates, no nitrites, and redmans salt with some seasoning.
- 44:03That's it with oregano garlic, delicious, pure protein, no seed oils, really healthy fats, so things like that.
- 44:11Um, crackers, a lot of crackers have seed oils as well.
- 44:15People think that they're healthy, but crackers usually have wheat and seed oils.
- 44:19So you want to stick to healthier crackers like top seeds.
- 44:22If anyone loves crackers, topseeds are out of this world.
- 44:26The texture consistency is incredible, and they I had they use olive oil.
- 44:31So those are great.
- 44:32Uh, and then yeah, I have a whole list in here too of healthy fats versus unhealthy fats, unhealthy oils.
- 44:39I also have a list of all the areas where people will find seed oils, and um, yeah.
- 44:47So obviously, restaurants, 99.9% of restaurants use seed oils.
- 44:51There is an app called Seed Oil Scout, which you can type in your area and it will show you the restaurants that use seed oils versus the ones who don't.
- 45:00And if some are seed oil free, which is really helpful.
- 45:04Yeah.
- 45:05That's really great.
- 45:06I mean, and say the name of that app again for the audience.
- 45:09Seed oil scout.
- 45:11Seed oil scout.
- 45:12Well, that's easy to remember.
- 45:13We should be able to remember that.
- 45:15You know, there are good seed good oils like flaxseed oil and black human seed oil and um hemp seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, sesame seed oil that you have listed in your in your book about the truth about uh seed oils.
- 45:31Why are they considered good as opposed to the other ones considered bad?
- 45:35Yeah, well, because they go through a different process and also they're created by God.
- 45:40So the one like canola oil, for example, is completely man-made, as we talked about.
- 45:47And the way that they process it, they pump chemicals into it and it's highly heated.
- 45:53So take sunflower seeds, for example.
- 45:55Sunflower seeds are a true gift from God.
- 45:58They have a good ratio of omega-3s versus omega-6s, a lot of magnesium, iron, they are excellent.
- 46:05And also they grow like a weed too, they're very low maintenance.
- 46:08But when we can eat sunflower seed, we're getting the whole seed.
- 46:12It's the whole food experience, and it's really good for our brain digestive system, you know, science backs that up.
- 46:18But then when we take a sunflower seed and they heat process it into an oil, even if it's organic and they're not using all the chemical extraction process, it still has gone through a crazy process.
- 46:33Now the omega-6 to omega-3 ratio is different, and that's why sunflower seed oil is actually bad for us.
- 46:39And but sunflower seeds are really good for us.
- 46:42Sunflower seed butter, if you just take the sunflower seed and crush it, it's still good because it has all the fiber and the process is different to the sunflower seed oil.
- 46:52So it's always in the process.
- 46:54So I always tell people, you always want to think when you have a food about to go into your mouth, think what did this food go through?
- 47:01What kind of process did it go through from God and nature to get to my hand and about to enter my body?
- 47:07What process was that?
- 47:08And we know in the process if it's healthy and wholesome or if it's not.
- 47:14Wow, that's a really good rule to go by too, you know.
- 47:17What how did it get here?
- 47:20How do they get here?
- 47:21Yeah.
- 47:21And something like flaxseed oil or black human seed oil, cheese seed oil, you know, those oils are those are seed oils, but the process, there's a they're cold pressed.
- 47:34So nutrients are intact, there's no chemical extraction.
- 47:38And so those oils are actually really beneficial for us and really good.
- 47:41They went through a good process.
- 47:44So, other than throwing out all of your toxic um salad dressings, which I encourage everyone to do.
- 47:51And I'll tell you, you know, it's really hard when you walk down that if you walk down that aisle and you see all those um uh packaged um salad dressings sitting on the shelf, it's really hard to not buy them because they just sound good and it sounds like something that you would want to have, but you can take that same recipe and make it for yourself at home with the same sort of ingredients in it without having all the seed oils.
- 48:15So, other than just throwing away all of your toxic um salad dressings, what other steps can people take?
- 48:23Some immediate steps that they can take to start eliminating seed oils out of their cupboard and replacing them with something more healthy in their diet.
- 48:31Yeah, so the staples for sure, olive oil and avocado oil and coconut oil.
- 48:37So those are great to replace with.
- 48:39If you're looking for salad dressings, primal kitchen are amazing.
- 48:42They have organic avocado oil and olive oil-based salad dressings with seasonings, just straight up Greek, Italian, so delicious.
- 48:50They have all kinds of sauces and marinades too.
- 48:53So that's a good staple.
- 48:54I recommend to all of my clients to have because you know, if you can you can really spruce up a salad with those salad dressings, or you could do make some chicken wings, buffalo chicken wings and all of that.
- 49:00Spruce up a salad with those salad dressings, or you could do make some chicken wings, buffalo chicken wings and all of that.
- 49:06So that's a really good one to replace with.
- 49:06So that's a really good one to replace with.
- 49:09And yeah, you can get creative, but there are so many great brands as well that are out there.
- 49:09And yeah, you can get creative, but there are so many great brands as well that are out there.
- 49:13And you know, I talk a lot about that on my channel too.
- 49:13And you know, I talk a lot about that on my channel too.
- 49:15I vet the brands I do a lot of recipe development too.
- 49:15I vet the brands I do a lot of recipe development too.
- 49:18So you can either make your own, and then there is a brand to replace everything.
- 49:18So you can either make your own, and then there is a brand to replace everything.
- 49:22So you don't have to worry about that.
- 49:22So you don't have to worry about that.
- 49:24There is something to replace everything that you think that you will miss that's really healthy and wholesale.
- 49:24There is something to replace everything that you think that you will miss that's really healthy and wholesome, but so delicious as well.
- 49:32When you were doing the research for this book to write it, because you've written other books before, when you're doing this research, was there anything that you discovered along the way that was just kind of really surprising to you, something that you didn't know about that you put into this book.
- 49:48Yeah, well, the most disturbing study was the homicide study, which I was completely mind blown about.
- 49:54And it's something I think that we need to bring into the conversation more and talk about more is you know, five Western countries they studied, including Australia, the UK, and America was what where people were consuming seed oils, they have higher homicide rates.
- 50:08So that to me is shocking.
- 50:10That in itself, and that should speak to a lot of mothers too, to tell, you know, especially their sons and daughters that are at college, like you've got to stay away from seed oils because it can cause anger and can cause aggression.
- 50:23Uh, so I was really shocked about that.
- 50:25Also, I was just shocked about the Ansel Keys discovery, you know, the discovery that they built this whole system on this whole nutritional system.
- 50:33They built the food pyramid based on these false findings, and people bought into it, and it just goes to show that people need to question everything and bring it to God and test it with the spirit, because for 70 years, people believed this food pyramid and believed that seed oils were good for them.
- 50:52That just is so shocking to me.
- 50:54People need to think more critically, obviously.
- 50:57So, yeah, and also, you know, I just I was just blown away with I went down the rabbit hole of like what is seed oils linked to?
- 51:06And I was just blown away, it's linked to every single health issue that people are facing, every single health issue, you know, from um sluggishness, weight gain, obesity, cancer, dimension, Alzheimer's, was just shocked.
- 51:21And I was shocked how much science there was.
- 51:23And like all my books, you know, the publisher came back and was like, we need to cut this book in half because there's all it's just too much science.
- 51:31There's so much science, which is fine because now I have all this bonus material.
- 51:35And I just like to extract all of it.
- 51:37And also we're coming up against a 500 billion dollar industry.
- 51:41So I wanted to pull all the science, but I was shocked how much science there actually is, you know, on PubMed and things like that that show that seed oils are causing so many things, including uh anxiety, and a lot of people have anxiety these days, and omega 3 deficiency is a massive driver to why people have anxiety.
- 52:02It's why I had anxiety all those years ago.
- 52:04A blood test revealed I was deficient in omega-3 fatty acids.
- 52:08So when people eat the right healthy fats and they cut out the seed oils and cutting out those omega-6s, majority of them, their brain is improving, and people are noticing their anxiety is being healed just from switching the oils.
- 52:23Uh, I was also really just shocked to see the real cost of seed oils and just how it's not worth it.
- 52:29We talked about it's linked to oxidative stress in the brain immediately, inflammation immediately.
- 52:34It's the worst for the skin.
- 52:36You know, ladies, hair, skin, and nails, it's the worst for that.
- 52:40It's contributes to hair loss as well.
- 52:42Um, it also disrupts neurotransmitters.
- 52:45And you know, we're living in some tough times right now.
- 52:48We need all the neurotransmitted function we can get.
- 52:52It's also it damages our DNA.
- 52:55Uh, and also it disrupts dopamine signaling.
- 52:59We also need all the dopamine function that we can get during this day and age too.
- 53:03So we just I was just shocked to see how many people are just putting it into their body every single day and believing the lie that it's actually safe for us.
- 53:13And also it does um disrupt our endocannabinoid system.
- 53:18And when that's disrupted, you know, the endocannabinoid system, when it's in harmony, it goes and it can heal anything that needs to be healed in the body, whether it's the hormones, the ovaries, the gut, the brain, when that's disrupted, it can't do its job and and bring the body back to regulation and to heal the body.
- 53:35So it's very disruptive.
- 53:37I have a whole list here of saying the real cost of seed oils in here.
- 53:40Once everyone reads this book, they're never gonna want to eat seed oils ever again.
- 53:45Really great.
- 53:46Well, this has been a great conversation about you know the launch of your new book, The Truth About Seed Oils.
- 53:52And we've had, I think that we've given it a good overview here.
- 53:56But why should people buy this book read it and have it in their personal library?
- 54:01Well, not only will it show them the history of seed oils and how corrupt it is, and how you know they have been lying to us, this 500 billion dollar industry.
- 54:12It will show them the history and also it just has amazing recipes.
- 54:17And people can follow these recipes, and you know, I would recommend do it for seven days, see how you feel, do a shot of olive oil, eat all these incredible recipes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, get all the healthy fats in, and you'll see your energy sore, your brain function, your cognitive function, your gut health, your digestion improve.
- 54:36So, you know, put it to practice, and it's also a very easy book.
- 54:41Like, look how thin it is.
- 54:42We made it short so people can read it in two days.
- 54:46And if people love science, you're gonna also love this book too.
- 54:50Well, that's perfect because it's like one stop shopping.
- 54:53You need you learn about seed oils, you learn about the good oils, and you get recipes, and it's short.
- 54:59So it doesn't get any better than that.
- 55:00That's awesome.
- 55:01Yeah.
- 55:02Well, Deanna, thank you so much for being here with us today.
