- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's going on?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Everybody?
- 0:15Speaker 1: It's Jeff Moser and Adam Kaplan And finally, mercifully, our
- 0:20Speaker 1: lives can now carry on because the Eagles have released
- 0:23Speaker 1: their schedule and so have the other NFL teams. We
- 0:26Speaker 1: know who the Eagles. We were already knew who the
- 0:28Speaker 1: Eagles were playing, Adam, we just didn't know when. Now
- 0:31Speaker 1: we know, and yeah, we can move on with our lives.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Look the NFL and talking to them about scheduling.
- 0:40Speaker 2: The NFL kind of tells you what they think of
- 0:42Speaker 2: your team. When you get five or more primetime games,
- 0:46Speaker 2: they think you're going to be good. Now, they're not
- 0:49Speaker 2: always right, you know. They put out their crystal ball,
- 0:52Speaker 2: they see what they say. So really, if you look
- 0:56Speaker 2: at their primetime schedule, by the way, they have five,
- 0:59Speaker 2: which is what I thought would get in twenty one
- 1:01Speaker 2: because of Syrianni first year twenty twenties extra Doug Peterson
- 1:05Speaker 2: that he got fired, they only had two. They made
- 1:07Speaker 2: the playoffs year one. What are they getting twenty two?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Super Bowl? Year five? The next year because they got
- 1:13Speaker 2: the super Bowl, they were great. They're they're back to
- 1:15Speaker 2: being a national team. That's what NFL calls those teams.
- 1:18Speaker 2: The teams are consistently good, like digos are called a
- 1:21Speaker 2: national team. In twenty three, they got six and they sucked.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Well that you know what happened? You know that was
- 1:28Speaker 2: at that was that was a meltdown year both sides
- 1:30Speaker 2: of the football. Twenty four they had four, not five.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I know it's out there that they have five. They
- 1:36Speaker 2: did not have five, they had four. I went over
- 1:37Speaker 2: that schedule a lot. I'm doing some research for various
- 1:43Speaker 2: market Tipeeerian during the week on radio, and the Chiefs
- 1:46Speaker 2: have led the NFL in primetime games going back oh
- 1:51Speaker 2: so many years. I mean so many years. It's they
- 1:54Speaker 2: don't win it every year, but overall, if you go
- 1:55Speaker 2: back several years, at least ten years, it's if they
- 2:00Speaker 2: lead them. But you know what's incredible, The Eagles since
- 2:02Speaker 2: two thousand have had the most Monday night games. How
- 2:06Speaker 2: about that?
- 2:07Speaker 1: Yeah, how about that is interesting?
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yeah? Forty four right, yeah, and so so twenty five
- 2:14Speaker 2: last year they had five and this year they have
- 2:16Speaker 2: five prime times. So the NFL is telling what they think.
- 2:18Speaker 2: They think they're gonna be very good team.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So let me let me ask you this, and I
- 2:21Speaker 1: agree with that do you see? All right? So they
- 2:25Speaker 1: have two games on Thursday, two on Monday, and two
- 2:28Speaker 1: Sunday night games. Are you saying that you don't see
- 2:30Speaker 1: the Thursday game as a primetime game?
- 2:33Speaker 2: Is that that?
- 2:34Speaker 1: What the Christmas Eve game?
- 2:35Speaker 2: I think? Are we talking about twenty four?
- 2:37Speaker 1: No?
- 2:37Speaker 2: No?
- 2:37Speaker 1: This year?
- 2:38Speaker 2: This year? Five? This year? No? No? What I was? No?
- 2:40Speaker 1: No, No, let's say listen, I'm saying this year they
- 2:42Speaker 1: have two Thursday, two Monday, and two Sundays, so that
- 2:46Speaker 1: would be six. But if you don't count, isn't one
- 2:49Speaker 1: of the games on Thursday like a day game because
- 2:52Speaker 1: it's a Christmas Eve or something? Maybe that that might
- 2:55Speaker 1: be where we have the discrepancy.
- 2:57Speaker 2: It has primetime to me has to be East seven
- 3:00Speaker 2: o'clock because there was a because if remember when they
- 3:04Speaker 2: did the annoying Monday doubleheader, Monday night double header, ones
- 3:07Speaker 2: at seven o'clock, one at ten. Yeah, that's debatable. Some
- 3:11Speaker 2: people say, oh, it's not primetime.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Okay, okay, so you're right right, So for our discussion,
- 3:17Speaker 1: maybe it's the week fifteen game that's five o'clock.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yes, it's not primetime, it's a Saturday gametime Okay, yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 2: you know Saturday at five o'clock.
- 3:27Speaker 1: It's not it's.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Not man's that's you know, that's just that's kind of
- 3:31Speaker 2: a specialty day.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So yeah, so so I'll tell you what just off
- 3:36Speaker 2: the bat here, right, get so you obviously we want
- 3:41Speaker 2: to hear what games you like the Week three game
- 3:43Speaker 2: at Chicago, and believe me, you want this game to
- 3:47Speaker 2: be early at Chicago. You don't want it to be
- 3:49Speaker 2: late with the winter. I know coaches have told me
- 3:52Speaker 2: over the years by the way their buys and what
- 3:54Speaker 2: week ten mm hmm, yeah, you'd rather you want Coaches
- 3:59Speaker 2: will tell you as if told me, they'd like to
- 4:01Speaker 2: have it in the middle of the season. If it's
- 4:03Speaker 2: either going to be earlier late, they'd rather have it late.
- 4:06Speaker 2: They don't want it early. They really don't like it early.
- 4:09Speaker 2: They've been told to me several times, we want it
- 4:11Speaker 2: late if if it's going to be either or like that,
- 4:13Speaker 2: but late. Of course, they don't have a choice. Now
- 4:16Speaker 2: you're allowed to submit to the NFL what you like
- 4:23Speaker 2: to have. In terms of travel, they can only accommodate
- 4:26Speaker 2: so much. It's done by computer. They do the best
- 4:29Speaker 2: that they can, and obviously they have The NFL has
- 4:31Speaker 2: to know about events that are around when the Eagles
- 4:36Speaker 2: would normally play on a Sunday afternoon or Sunday night.
- 4:39Speaker 2: The NFL wants to know that so that they schedule
- 4:41Speaker 2: it accordingly. So that's part of it. But oh yeah,
- 4:44Speaker 2: So the games that I'm interested in would be the
- 4:47Speaker 2: Monday night game September twenty eighth at the Bears, very much,
- 4:51Speaker 2: so that's a fun one. Then that the following Sunday
- 4:53Speaker 2: on a short week at home against the Rams at
- 4:56Speaker 2: one o'clock game. By the way, one o'clock game. How
- 5:00Speaker 2: about that in week numeroal four? And then you know
- 5:06Speaker 2: the Jaguars were really good last season. Yeah, ninety, of
- 5:12Speaker 2: course I love that one. That nine to thirty Eastern.
- 5:16Speaker 2: It's in Tottenham. That's international. Third time the Eagles will
- 5:19Speaker 2: play internationally. We're actually is it third time in let
- 5:24Speaker 2: me see what the notes say here.
- 5:25Speaker 1: It's the third time internationally, second time in London.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Okay, gotcha right.
- 5:30Speaker 1: By the way, I want a really fascinating stat Adam,
- 5:35Speaker 1: because this is the second time in a row that
- 5:37Speaker 1: their road game at Jacksonville is in London. They actually
- 5:41Speaker 1: have not played in Jacksonville, Florida since twenty ten. Sixteen
- 5:46Speaker 1: years will have gone by after this upcoming season that
- 5:50Speaker 1: they have not.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Played twenty ten.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Huh, twenty ten is the last time they actually played
- 5:55Speaker 1: a football game in Jacksonville against the Jaguars, or just
- 5:59Speaker 1: in general.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yea, they okay that game, Okay, Beg's first year twenty ten.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah, think about how long ago that was.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I yeah, boy, there's real quick. Just because I didn't
- 6:12Speaker 2: know you're gonna bring it up. But this is great.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Name the trio because the Eagles around a forty three
- 6:18Speaker 2: named the trio of Eagles linebackers. Wow, oh god.
- 6:22Speaker 1: In twenty ten yeah, oh man.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Oh, the starting tight end with sella call, he smokes,
- 6:31Speaker 2: open up a twelve personnel.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go, Moses Folk up close.
- 6:37Speaker 2: No, Keem Jordan, Yes, I know you're gonna get that,
- 6:41Speaker 2: mar Cheney. No. The other one was my question to
- 6:44Speaker 2: Sean McDermott. I said about his quickness side to.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Side, and Ernie sid Water, Ernie Simms.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Ernie Simms, course, Ernie and a guy who was the
- 6:52Speaker 2: would be champ unfortunately towards Acol at the fright night
- 6:56Speaker 2: or flight nights. Oh yeah, yeah yeah. And then just
- 7:00Speaker 2: a couple other names for that Winston Justice at right
- 7:02Speaker 2: tackle for anyone, don't look it up. Give me in
- 7:06Speaker 2: twelve personnel, give me the tight end. If you get this, dude,
- 7:09Speaker 2: I'm taking you out the lunch next time. I see.
- 7:10Speaker 2: If you get this, you'll never get it.
- 7:12Speaker 1: So this is twenty ten. Yep, Brent Selleck is one
- 7:16Speaker 1: of the tight ends. All right, we're past L. J.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Smith era. I don't even think it's Matt Shoble.
- 7:22Speaker 2: No. Oh oh, I'm going to give you the number.
- 7:25Speaker 2: There's no way you'll get it. I'll get it.
- 7:30Speaker 1: If I think of what happened to them in twenty ten.
- 7:32Speaker 1: That guy was last year, right, Donovan's last year. They
- 7:37Speaker 1: ended the year with two bad losses to the Cowboy.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Twenty ten was not Donovan was gone.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Oh this is the first year. You're right, this is
- 7:45Speaker 1: the first year with that quarterback. Yeah, I'm sorry. So
- 7:51Speaker 1: let's see. This is Jacksonville. I remember Michael Vick started
- 7:53Speaker 1: that game.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yep. Corract the other tight end?
- 7:57Speaker 1: Is it Mercedes?
- 7:58Speaker 2: No?
- 7:58Speaker 1: No, no, he was.
- 7:59Speaker 2: No, God, it was the same number. He was never
- 8:01Speaker 2: an Eagle.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I think he was with the Jags at the time, right, But.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I'm saying Eagles twelve. They oput twelve personnel. It was
- 8:07Speaker 2: eighty This guy was eighty nine. I don't know. This
- 8:10Speaker 2: guy's name has never been brought up on our show.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I totally forgot he played for the Eagles. Okay, he
- 8:14Speaker 2: was an undersized tight end. Garrett Mills, Oh my god,
- 8:19Speaker 2: you could have given me five hundred. I told you
- 8:21Speaker 2: you're not going to get it. I totally forgot that
- 8:24Speaker 2: he played for the Eagles. Uh sat, Samuel Ellis, Hobbs
- 8:30Speaker 2: Q or got Q and and Nate Allen were the safety.
- 8:33Speaker 2: So yeah, I just thought these folks would find it interesting. Yeah,
- 8:37Speaker 2: smoked him by the way they smoked him there at
- 8:39Speaker 2: twenty three.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Wow, that's even more obscure than like Luther Broton.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I remember.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I actually ran into him. He's you know, he went
- 8:49Speaker 1: to Furman College. So Furman played Yukon here in Philadelphia
- 8:53Speaker 1: during the NCAA basketball tournament, and he was there well
- 8:57Speaker 1: with the Furman folks. So uh oh oh, he actually
- 9:02Speaker 1: recognized me. We know each other here outside the Eagles,
- 9:05Speaker 1: So that's so great. Yea, it was cool to see
- 9:08Speaker 1: you man. He was, you know, because Furman gave you
- 9:10Speaker 1: kind of a really good game and he was really
- 9:11Speaker 1: fired up there. Yeah, all right, but anyway, well beyond that, So, Adam,
- 9:15Speaker 1: you're bringing up a good point here about this early schedule.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I think this is an interesting part of the schedule
- 9:21Speaker 1: because honestly, the first two weeks they should you know,
- 9:23Speaker 1: you're home against Commanders to open the season. I think
- 9:25Speaker 1: the Commanders will be improved, but the Eagles are a
- 9:27Speaker 1: better team, uh, and their home and then you go
- 9:30Speaker 1: to Tennessee. They got to adjust their new coaching staff.
- 9:33Speaker 1: They're from a talent standpoint, they shouldn't be the Eagles,
- 9:36Speaker 1: So I could see the Eagles being two and oh.
- 9:37Speaker 1: But you kind of get into what I think is
- 9:39Speaker 1: sort of a non divisional murderers row there against four
- 9:43Speaker 1: teams that were all in the playoffs last year. The Bears,
- 9:46Speaker 1: the Rams, the Jaguars, and the Panthers. Yes, they were
- 9:49Speaker 1: in the playoffs. They won their division.
- 9:50Speaker 2: They may not losing.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Pretty good, yeah, with a losing record, but the point
- 9:53Speaker 1: is they've got they signed Jalen Phillips, they expect to
- 9:56Speaker 1: be better. That's four fairly good teams to home, two road,
- 10:00Speaker 1: and then right after that you get right into a
- 10:03Speaker 1: stretch of NFC East games, Cowboys, Commanders, Giants going into
- 10:07Speaker 1: the Bays. So you don't have four I don't see
- 10:10Speaker 1: a real soft saut spot, meaning two weeks in a
- 10:13Speaker 1: row where you're not where you're facing like easily winnable
- 10:17Speaker 1: teams in that seven game stretch.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Well, if you look at their scuts, remember last year
- 10:21Speaker 2: they didn't have back to back home games, which is absurd. Yeah,
- 10:25Speaker 2: so they have a pocket in weeks fourteenth or sixteen
- 10:29Speaker 2: at home Colts Seahawks on that Saturday you mentioned, and
- 10:33Speaker 2: the Texans on a Thursday night. Now what you'd rather have?
- 10:38Speaker 2: You really don't want to be traveling to the West
- 10:41Speaker 2: Coast late in the season. Unfortunately, in weeks seventeen they're
- 10:45Speaker 2: at the Niners on a Sunday night, and then, as
- 10:50Speaker 2: they do with every single game in Week eighteen, it's
- 10:52Speaker 2: to be determined that games at the Giants, which is fine,
- 10:55Speaker 2: that's the East Coast game, same same time zone. So
- 11:00Speaker 2: in terms of changing time zones, let me see, let's
- 11:04Speaker 2: see a Central time Cowboys, Pacific time, Cardinals, Civic time, Niners.
- 11:13Speaker 2: You know it's that's those games are in the second
- 11:16Speaker 2: half of the season.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So yeah, well that's kind of tough right Week twelve,
- 11:20Speaker 1: Thanksgiving in Dallas. Now you get the rescue, you play
- 11:23Speaker 1: on Thanksgiving, but then week thirteen you're at Arizona, who,
- 11:27Speaker 1: by the way, Jillen Hurts is one and three against
- 11:29Speaker 1: the Cardinals in his career. That's sort of mind boggling.
- 11:32Speaker 2: But that's well out again. I remember the awful game
- 11:35Speaker 2: of twenty three when they came in here and at
- 11:38Speaker 2: they put up over thirty. That was this terrible game. Yeah,
- 11:41Speaker 2: terrible game. Yeah yeah. So I would say to start
- 11:45Speaker 2: the games that to me are fascinating at the Bears
- 11:48Speaker 2: week three, Monday night hosting the Rams at one o'clock.
- 11:52Speaker 2: In week four, we know what happened last year that
- 11:54Speaker 2: was crazy. The block kick, yep, the Jackson, the game
- 11:58Speaker 2: in England Tottenham Stadium, and then the Pittsburgh game after
- 12:03Speaker 2: the bye Pittsburgh. It should be really good. When I
- 12:06Speaker 2: do want strength to schedule, it's strictly based on the
- 12:08Speaker 2: way these teams look this year. I mean, they're not
- 12:11Speaker 2: playing last year's teams, but you look at what they
- 12:13Speaker 2: did last year. But it's all what they look like
- 12:16Speaker 2: right now and coaching changes. Do you believe in it?
- 12:19Speaker 2: Sure there's gonna be someur prize surprises like Jaguars didn't
- 12:22Speaker 2: see that, you know, ye did see this being as
- 12:25Speaker 2: good as say were, there always gonna be surprises. Yeah,
- 12:28Speaker 2: you know, now the Colts game of that that home
- 12:32Speaker 2: stretch of three games at home, Colts look to be mediocre.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Daniel Jones coming up with another major injury. Yeah, Seahawks, Okay,
- 12:41Speaker 2: Seahawks should be good. Remember now they've got a first
- 12:47Speaker 2: time Yeah. Well, they got a first time play caller
- 12:50Speaker 2: on offense, Brian Florey. So you know that that's that's
- 12:55Speaker 2: a problem in the Texans. Oh, I'm sure they'll be
- 12:58Speaker 2: elite defensively. Their offensive line still worries me. They haven't
- 13:02Speaker 2: really addressed it well enough. Then. Of course, Week seventeen
- 13:06Speaker 2: is the game at the Niners. Man that that game
- 13:08Speaker 2: could have so much meaning. Now the league told me
- 13:10Speaker 2: when I asked him over the years about this. In fact,
- 13:13Speaker 2: Mike North, who's by the way, I think he's from Philly,
- 13:17Speaker 2: Philly area, who's the schedulings are taken over for Howard
- 13:20Speaker 2: Katz retired. Mike said, like, see, they don't they're not
- 13:26Speaker 2: remember that for years they used to have like the
- 13:28Speaker 2: final quarter of the December would have be all divisional games.
- 13:32Speaker 2: They don't do that anymore, the league, the league's partners
- 13:36Speaker 2: have told them CBS, NBC, ESPN, Fox, Now, Amazon Now, Netflix,
- 13:46Speaker 2: They've made it clear they just want great matchups. They
- 13:48Speaker 2: don't care which week it is. I thought that was interesting.
- 13:50Speaker 2: I get that, but I was like, man, really like
- 13:55Speaker 2: I at the Giants in Week eighteen. That's fine, okay,
- 14:00Speaker 2: but you know, I'd like to see a lot of
- 14:01Speaker 2: the divisional games late. But so yeah, the fact I
- 14:05Speaker 2: remember was it, didn't you say that you hated Dallas
- 14:07Speaker 2: in Week one? Didn't you hate that?
- 14:09Speaker 1: I hate it. I so much more preferred this year,
- 14:12Speaker 1: the way this schedule is, where it's middle of the year.
- 14:16Speaker 1: They first play each other on Week seven, and then
- 14:19Speaker 1: they'll play again week twelve. I hate it when it's
- 14:22Speaker 1: the first game. I hate it when it's the last
- 14:24Speaker 1: game two unless both teams are playing for something, which
- 14:27Speaker 1: sometimes doesn't always happen, you know. So that's why I
- 14:30Speaker 1: think seven and twelve are pretty perfect, especially with Week
- 14:33Speaker 1: twelve being Thanksgiving. I think it's really cool that de
- 14:35Speaker 1: Egals are playing on Thanksgiving. The reporter in me hates
- 14:39Speaker 1: the fact that they're playing on Christmas Eve because you know,
- 14:41Speaker 1: nobody wants to be working on Christmas Eve. Who celebrates?
- 14:45Speaker 1: But you know that that's life and it should be
- 14:47Speaker 1: a good game.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Now, just understand that with the scheduling, the NFL has
- 14:51Speaker 2: made it pretty clear like they're not going to always
- 14:53Speaker 2: get it right when they put like I think twenty
- 14:55Speaker 2: twenty two, I think they put the Broncos on prime
- 14:57Speaker 2: because it's Russell Wilson's the first year after the trade.
- 15:00Speaker 2: But they're going to be great. They sucked, so they'll
- 15:03Speaker 2: flex them out and then they'll flex teams in that.
- 15:06Speaker 2: You know, they they just didn't know the team would
- 15:09Speaker 2: be good enough, like Washington would be a great story
- 15:10Speaker 2: two years ago.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Did anyone have them on their bingo card? They'd be
- 15:14Speaker 2: as good as they were come out of nowhere. No,
- 15:16Speaker 2: in Jane Jalend's first year, so and and and they'll
- 15:20Speaker 2: they'll do that. They'll they'll start moving teams out and
- 15:22Speaker 2: I'd have to look it up. But remember when ESPN
- 15:25Speaker 2: and other networks bet on Tim Tebow being a big thing.
- 15:28Speaker 2: It was horrendous. Obviously, yes, the Jets, but ESPN w
- 15:33Speaker 2: was was setting folks to practice. They were doing NFL
- 15:37Speaker 2: live there. That's how embarrassing it was. They they learned
- 15:39Speaker 2: from that. That was a mistake. But the league they
- 15:42Speaker 2: do their best to learn about the clubs in the
- 15:44Speaker 2: off season, and they're not going to get always right.
- 15:46Speaker 2: But that's why they flex schedule.
- 15:48Speaker 1: With thank goodness, I want to point out an oddity
- 15:51Speaker 1: in the schedule at them that might favor the Eagles
- 15:53Speaker 1: in the long term. Right, So, because they were a
- 15:56Speaker 1: first place team last year, they have to play the
- 16:00Speaker 1: first place teams in the NFC North, NFC South, and
- 16:02Speaker 1: the AFC North, right. And last year was one of
- 16:06Speaker 1: those strange years where the Bears won the NFC North,
- 16:09Speaker 1: the Panthers, with a losing record, won the NFC South,
- 16:12Speaker 1: and the Steelers, who are always good but obviously they
- 16:15Speaker 1: haven't been great in a while, they beat out the
- 16:18Speaker 1: Ravens right in the AFC North. So because of that,
- 16:20Speaker 1: the Eagles will play the Bears, Panthers, and Steelers this year.
- 16:24Speaker 1: But if you look at the Cowboys, who finished second
- 16:27Speaker 1: last year in the NFC East, they have to play
- 16:29Speaker 1: the second place teams in those divisions, So they have
- 16:31Speaker 1: to play the Packers, the Bucks, and the Ravens, which
- 16:35Speaker 1: sort of sounds like the teams you would expect to
- 16:37Speaker 1: play if you were a first place finisher. So it's
- 16:40Speaker 1: a weird because I, you know, I just think that
- 16:43Speaker 1: the Steelers, yeah, they were a first place team. They're not.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I don't see them as a great team. They're always
- 16:47Speaker 1: tough to beat, for sure, but they're not. I'd rather
- 16:50Speaker 1: play the Steelers in the Ravens. That's just me. And
- 16:54Speaker 1: then yeah, I'd rather play the Bears and the Packers.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Even though the Bears did great things last year. I
- 17:00Speaker 1: just think Packers are annually good. The Bears sort of exploded.
- 17:04Speaker 1: They won all those fourth quarter games last year. It's
- 17:06Speaker 1: gonna be hard to sustain. I like Ben Jonson, I'm
- 17:09Speaker 1: sure he's gonna do great things there. I'm just saying, like,
- 17:12Speaker 1: if you give me a choice, play the Bears to
- 17:13Speaker 1: play the Packers, I'd probably take the Bears because they
- 17:16Speaker 1: might be a team that takes a little bit of
- 17:17Speaker 1: a step back too. That was a funny.
- 17:20Speaker 2: That's the Bears are one of the teams I think
- 17:23Speaker 2: that will take a step back based on sometimes I
- 17:27Speaker 2: had to come out of nowhere, man. I remember talking
- 17:29Speaker 2: to the Giants about it in twenty two, Like they
- 17:31Speaker 2: knew they weren't as good as their record would indicate,
- 17:33Speaker 2: and they did win a playoff game at Minnesota on
- 17:37Speaker 2: the road, suppressive, but they were disaster after that. So
- 17:41Speaker 2: it happens every year. There's a team that comes out
- 17:43Speaker 2: of nowhere. No one's expecting it, and you know, it's
- 17:47Speaker 2: tough because the fans get all riled up. They oh,
- 17:49Speaker 2: this is unbelievable, this is great, and the next year
- 17:51Speaker 2: they suck. Washington got you know, they went for it.
- 17:54Speaker 2: They sung a lot of older players. It didn't work,
- 17:58Speaker 2: and they played the Eagles week one. That that's fascinating.
- 18:02Speaker 2: That could that game is interesting. Oh, by the way,
- 18:04Speaker 2: the preseason games at Baltimore at New England there Eagles
- 18:08Speaker 2: are gonna have joined practices a practice, are practices practices
- 18:12Speaker 2: practices up there? They might have two, we don't know yet.
- 18:16Speaker 2: They had won the last time, I think. And then
- 18:17Speaker 2: they host the Bengals on a Friday night. So at
- 18:21Speaker 2: Baltimore at New England hosts Cincy for their three preseason
- 18:26Speaker 2: games and open up against Washington. I think Washington's gonna
- 18:31Speaker 2: bounce back. Now. The oddsmakers still have the Eagles as
- 18:34Speaker 2: a sleigh favorite by the way to win the NFC East.
- 18:36Speaker 1: All right, everybody, just a quick break to remind you
- 18:39Speaker 1: if you haven't noticed, sun's coming out, it's getting warmer,
- 18:43Speaker 1: especially where we are in the Northeast. That reminds you
- 18:46Speaker 1: that summer's right around the corner. And with late spring
- 18:49Speaker 1: and summer come a ton of activities. I know for me,
- 18:52Speaker 1: and I'm sure just like everybody else. You know, my
- 18:54Speaker 1: kids play softball, I'm at tournaments every weekend, and then
- 18:58Speaker 1: there's gonna be barbecues. And I actually turn fifty the
- 19:02Speaker 1: Big five OZO this year, along with many of my friends.
- 19:04Speaker 1: So I know there's going to be a lot of
- 19:06Speaker 1: fiftieth birthday parties. And look, I know that at these parties,
- 19:10Speaker 1: I'm going to have a few drinks. I'm going to
- 19:12Speaker 1: want to have fun with my friends. And now that
- 19:15Speaker 1: I'm fifty or going to be fifty, I know that
- 19:18Speaker 1: I just don't feel as great the next day, even
- 19:21Speaker 1: if I just have a few drinks the night before.
- 19:24Speaker 1: So I tried this new product called Cheers Restore. Okay,
- 19:30Speaker 1: it restores how you feel the next morning. You take
- 19:34Speaker 1: it after your last drink before bed. It works while
- 19:38Speaker 1: you sleep, and their claim to fame is that you
- 19:40Speaker 1: feel fifty percent better the next morning or your money back.
- 19:45Speaker 1: So basically, if you have seven or eight beers throughout
- 19:49Speaker 1: a barbecue, then the next day you may feel like
- 19:53Speaker 1: you only had three or four. So basically, Cheers Restore
- 19:56Speaker 1: helps you metabolize alcohol more efficiently and that supports overall
- 20:01Speaker 1: liver health. Most people think that when you drink, you
- 20:04Speaker 1: get dehydrated and that's why you don't feel great the
- 20:07Speaker 1: next day. The real issue is actually what happens in
- 20:10Speaker 1: your brain and liver while you're sleeping. So when the
- 20:13Speaker 1: alcohol leaves your system, your brain goes into this rebound
- 20:16Speaker 1: mode and that's what makes you feel bad. The DHM
- 20:19Speaker 1: and Cheers works while you sleep to smooth out that rebound,
- 20:22Speaker 1: and at the same time, the alcohol converts into a
- 20:25Speaker 1: toxic byproduct that your liver has to clear out the
- 20:29Speaker 1: seis steine, and Cheers helps speed that up. It's backed
- 20:32Speaker 1: by doctors PhDs and over one thousand verified clinicians. They've
- 20:37Speaker 1: sold over fifty million doses, and Cheers is also available
- 20:40Speaker 1: in thirty thousand retail locations that includes Target, cvs and Walgreens.
- 20:45Speaker 1: So take Cheers Restore after your last drink or before
- 20:48Speaker 1: going to bed and wake up feeling at least fifty
- 20:50Speaker 1: percent better, or your money back. For a limited time,
- 20:54Speaker 1: our listeners are getting twenty percent off their entire order
- 20:57Speaker 1: by using the code Birds brds at Cheershealth dot com.

- 21:13Speaker 1: them to you. Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 21:18Speaker 1: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 21:21Speaker 1: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is

- 21:59Speaker 1: even show loved the community with specials for fans, students,
- 22:03Speaker 1: service members, and healthcare pros can then Apothecary top quality cannabis,
- 22:09Speaker 1: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 22:12Speaker 1: one and up. Yeah, I think Washington is better. I
- 22:16Speaker 1: just don't know that they're like more than eight to
- 22:17Speaker 1: nine wins better. But still that's an improvement on last
- 22:21Speaker 1: year when they were they won five games. So one
- 22:25Speaker 1: other really interesting thing to me, Adam, is that the
- 22:27Speaker 1: Eagles are gonna play four teams coming off a bye week.
- 22:31Speaker 2: That's a lot o wow.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Yeah, four teams coming off of bye, and that includes
- 22:37Speaker 1: in week eight they play the Commanders team coming off
- 22:40Speaker 1: of bye, and the week before the Eagles are playing
- 22:44Speaker 1: Monday Night against the Cowboys, so they at the short
- 22:48Speaker 1: rest and they get another divisional team that's coming off
- 22:51Speaker 1: of bye. That's you know, obviously everybody's gonna have to
- 22:54Speaker 1: deal with that. I don't know how many. I don't
- 22:56Speaker 1: know who leads the NFL. It might be the Eagles
- 22:59Speaker 1: in playing teams coming bye, but four seems a lot.
- 23:02Speaker 2: That is a lot. And look, look there's a. There's
- 23:05Speaker 2: an advantage to that, you know, for those those clubs,
- 23:07Speaker 2: you know, coming off of buy the role rested teams
- 23:10Speaker 2: off of buy more off than not do what do well.
- 23:14Speaker 2: By the way, it's the eighth time the Eagles will
- 23:16Speaker 2: play on Thanksgiving, uh in franchise history. Nice and the
- 23:21Speaker 2: overall the Eagles are six and one on Thanksgiving. That's
- 23:25Speaker 2: pretty darn good. Yeah, pretty pretty good. And you know Syriana,
- 23:29Speaker 2: by the way, is very good in primetime. It's another thing,
- 23:32Speaker 2: it's it's look for there's some fans that simply hate Sirianni.
- 23:36Speaker 2: They can't stand him. His opening press conference is so
- 23:40Speaker 2: bad and they could they've held it again. The guy
- 23:42Speaker 2: could win five Super Bowls. They still think he's an idiot, right, Yes,
- 23:45Speaker 2: but at some point you got to say, it is
- 23:48Speaker 2: pretty incredible this guy's record. Yeah, I mean he's I
- 23:52Speaker 2: don't know what people want, man, you know these of
- 23:55Speaker 2: course they have the same people wanted Holley out and
- 23:57Speaker 2: then when how it became great? Now they turn their attention,
- 24:00Speaker 2: but it is what it is.
- 24:01Speaker 1: What do you think of ending the year Week seventeen?
- 24:04Speaker 1: Week eighteen, both games on the road at San Francisco
- 24:08Speaker 1: and then.
- 24:09Speaker 2: By the way, after they have three home games, yeah
- 24:11Speaker 2: in a row.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Yeah that would you'd love to have one home game
- 24:17Speaker 1: or else. Those games not mean anything.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Right, although here's the one little note we should make
- 24:23Speaker 2: m So they play Christmas Eve at home it gainst
- 24:27Speaker 2: the Sexans, Okay, which is a Thursday. If you're going
- 24:30Speaker 2: to travel. The good thing is you they've got plenty
- 24:33Speaker 2: of time to rest because they don't play to the
- 24:36Speaker 2: following Sunday, January third at the Niners and that's a
- 24:41Speaker 2: Sunday Day primetime game on nbc SO and then the
- 24:46Speaker 2: week eighteen game. All you know, it's at the Giants.
- 24:50Speaker 2: You don't know what day it is, you don't know
- 24:52Speaker 2: what time it is, and the league will will obviously
- 24:55Speaker 2: let you know, but I don't. In terms of how
- 25:01Speaker 2: we see these teams this year, the tough the games
- 25:04Speaker 2: that you know are going to should be tough would
- 25:06Speaker 2: be at Chicago, the Rams at home. Obviously with Stafford,
- 25:11Speaker 2: they should be good. They're really well coached. The Pittsburgh
- 25:14Speaker 2: game after he goes by, I know that's in Philly
- 25:17Speaker 2: against the Steelers. I just feel like the Steels should
- 25:19Speaker 2: be really good. The back is always an issue, of course,
- 25:23Speaker 2: of course.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I just feel like their ceiling is always like
- 25:26Speaker 1: ten wins like that.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I know, I hear, I know, I know, I know,
- 25:30Speaker 2: I know. The Seahawks game, that's that Saturday game at
- 25:35Speaker 2: five eastern. Yeah, in week four, in week fifteen and
- 25:41Speaker 2: the Texan game.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Yeah, back to back like that Seahawks Texan you're talking
- 25:45Speaker 1: about to me, the five defenses in the league.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Yeah, now they'll how they'll be at home for it,
- 25:50Speaker 2: but it'll be a short week on that Thursday, the
- 25:54Speaker 2: Christmas Eve game, So it's I don't think it's that dawning.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I mean, there's a little bit of a we as
- 26:00Speaker 2: we called it. In twenty three, it was like the Gauntlet.
- 26:02Speaker 2: It was maybe the hardest, like six or seven games
- 26:06Speaker 2: in a row I've ever seen, whereas I don't I
- 26:08Speaker 2: don't see anything like that here. I mean, there's a
- 26:11Speaker 2: couple of challenging patches. But it last year was so bizarre,
- 26:15Speaker 2: not getting back to back home games. I don't think
- 26:17Speaker 2: I've ever seen that before. That was strange.
- 26:19Speaker 1: And then also the bizarre thing that seems to have disappeared,
- 26:22Speaker 1: thankfully from the schedule, was that stupid for two years
- 26:25Speaker 1: in a row, right, they had you played a division
- 26:28Speaker 1: rival twice in three weeks last year? Well, they did
- 26:31Speaker 1: it twice last year, right, it was like Giants, Vikings, Giants,
- 26:34Speaker 1: and then at the end of the year it was
- 26:35Speaker 1: Commandos somebody Commandos. Right, that was annoying. I think that's
- 26:40Speaker 1: dumb playing the same division team twice in a three weeks.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Oh it was okay, Yeah, this was dumb. Week six
- 26:48Speaker 2: at the Giants, so they got smoked right at the
- 26:51Speaker 2: Vikings they won. Then the Giants came into Philly, the
- 26:55Speaker 2: Eagles laid up thirty eight on them. Right. Then they
- 26:58Speaker 2: had it's at and then right at the end of
- 27:01Speaker 2: the year they went man right, And I remember when
- 27:03Speaker 2: it came out. I was excited about it because I
- 27:06Speaker 2: was like, wow, Washington's gone off in this unbelievable year.
- 27:08Speaker 2: It'd be great. And then Washington sucked.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't good. It was Commander's Bill's Commanders, if
- 27:13Speaker 1: I if I remember.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Correctly, and it was it was commanded yeah. Yeah. And
- 27:16Speaker 2: you know the Week eight team eighteen games when everyone
- 27:20Speaker 2: was rested, McKee started a quarterback, right, and that awful
- 27:23Speaker 2: game in the bad weather in Buffalo, the Eagles somehow
- 27:26Speaker 2: won a high score baseball game thirteen to twelve.
- 27:28Speaker 1: But anyway, yeah, yeah, well you don't have to worry
- 27:31Speaker 1: about any about that kind of craziness this this year.
- 27:33Speaker 1: So that's good too.
- 27:35Speaker 2: All right.
- 27:35Speaker 1: That is a look at the twenty twenty six Eagles schedule,
- 27:40Speaker 1: and in the second half of this podcast, which we'll
- 27:42Speaker 1: start now, we're gonna go win lost, win loss for
- 27:44Speaker 1: not just kidding. I just wanted to see Adam's are going.
- 27:49Speaker 2: I've ever I don't think I've ever done it. I
- 27:53Speaker 2: don't think i've I mean, I deal with friends, you know,
- 27:57Speaker 2: we go, okay, what do you think? Yeah, but it there,
- 28:02Speaker 2: safety will be. Safety will be resolved by the start
- 28:05Speaker 2: of the season. If not training camp. They know how
- 28:08Speaker 2: He's made it very clear. They know they have to
- 28:09Speaker 2: do something. Yeah, I mean, that's that's a that's a
- 28:13Speaker 2: position that's gotta it's got a resolve it. It doesn't
- 28:16Speaker 2: look very good. I mean, it's that's that's right now.
- 28:18Speaker 2: It's the most problematic position by four in the football team.
- 28:21Speaker 1: It really is. How we must have something up his
- 28:24Speaker 1: sleeve because it looks pretty bleak at the moment. So
- 28:27Speaker 1: we'll have to see what they do. He pulls trades
- 28:31Speaker 1: out of somewhere.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you'd rather signs to a veteran who can
- 28:36Speaker 2: play coming and starting, because you'd rather not give up
- 28:39Speaker 2: a draft pick for the guy might be only here
- 28:42Speaker 2: for one, you know, one season. Yeah, by the way,
- 28:44Speaker 2: we passed the compensatory, but we've passed it where it
- 28:47Speaker 2: counts towards it, so.
- 28:49Speaker 1: We have yep, all right, good stuff. That's gonna do
- 28:52Speaker 1: it for this episode of Inside the Birds, the leading
- 28:55Speaker 1: podcast and Eagles Intel, and as always, we thank you
