- 0:33I'm still a little bump in my to do it quicker.
- 0:39We're the bloom. I'm just the way the blood
- 0:44tonight. Oh, welcome back to do with a
- 0:49fun band knife. That sucks.
- 0:50A commentary podcast with Joe Ford over there.
- 0:56Say hello Joe. I like more cruel.
- 0:58Porn star over there. Hello, Uncle free podcast.
- 1:05We did it. Do an episode 5 of our threesome
- 1:07Journey. Very talented.
- 1:09And of wearing chaiienge and I won't, they've just stolen the
- 1:13time cop. It's your face just on the time
- 1:18cabinet there. After the cab it's really
- 1:21heating up now, but don't just ask you guys.
- 1:24If you're enjoying this, freeze them so far, it's one of the
- 1:27best of us. It's nice to have some input,
- 1:29you know, all the way through. It's very it's a very sexually
- 1:32bent threesome but are essentially been honestly, I'm
- 1:36happy. Not really much of the You're
- 1:39interested in that sort of way for me really in this.
- 1:42I don't think what men were you got ya?
- 1:46Well yeah, there's a lot of men in it.
- 1:48There's only there's only very handsome prostitute.
- 1:52They're fabulous to go visual Feast for you.
- 2:03What's the story is over, just push that.
- 2:05What's this? The classic duct tape story with
- 2:07the most sexiest men. What kinds of fabrics all those
- 2:11soldiers? Good.
- 2:12Yeah. Good answer.
- 2:14Beautiful. Honestly, sigh all about that.
- 2:17I was just sexual Awakening. What are you?
- 2:20About what? Yes.
- 2:37Okay, five, four, three, two, one.
- 2:43What happened? If you just prepared something?
- 2:45No, I was just looking up. I know we've mentioned big
- 2:48finish before. I just know no more knowledge.
- 2:51Just around this story because it's so much around the store.
- 2:53There is like I'll just looking at what river song was doing
- 2:57around in her story. So she visits.
- 3:00Victorian London on the trail of an Akron.
- 3:03Istic technology or nist anachronistic technology when
- 3:07young women are stolen from the street.
- 3:09She takes the stand Rivers investigation leads to the
- 3:12theater to Henry Gordon Jago and his latest Star act license
- 3:18Shang and the unnerving. Mr. Sin.
- 3:20Basically River song has Talons Wang qiang before the talons are
- 3:23going Chang, I think, like I said, like Lee said, you got
- 3:27frozen after you left, right and Center.
- 3:42So it looks like You know, the birth of a vulture vulture
- 3:55Chief, you know I finish a like a vulture picking over the
- 3:58corpse of Talons away in July. After that story here River
- 4:01sister Jago warns him to be on his guard against Chang just as
- 4:05the sound of the TARDIS. Landing is heard in the
- 4:07distance. He's not really acting in this.
- 4:11Like he's just met River Song and has been warned already
- 4:13about. Hey, we should if we're gonna
- 4:16finish big finish chat now, we should have mentioned And that
- 4:20the fourth doctor Adventures when it starts starts
- 4:24immediately after this story. Yes, when Tom Baker, first came
- 4:30about Cups of Tea and they repeat the last line of talents
- 4:35as the first line in destination nervous.
- 4:38All the coming also mentioned that dragon-like for the meat
- 4:41Ramana one, and two, in two separate.
- 4:44Fourth Doctor Adventures as well, they get, they get
- 4:47absolutely, yeah. World yellow this.
- 4:51Yeah, they get everywhere. It was always a bit of a shame
- 4:54to me that Tom Baker, never turned up in yoga and like foot.
- 4:58Yeah, because they had look at it was coming back for a lot and
- 5:01then, isn't there something in series 10?
- 5:03I was reading the one with the master in it says, yeah, and
- 5:08Colin bait and the sixth doctor, but they don't recognize him or
- 5:11something, or there's something about that and apparently were
- 5:13supposed to be Sylvester McCoy. But you can do it something like
- 5:15that with Maritime and yeah, that's yeah.
- 5:18But that's in the forced octave and They go online for series
- 5:21obviously and he's a good one. But like actually in this series
- 5:25it just feels like they kept using cold because he was
- 5:28available cheap, I'll probably bid, he's got by those Crocs
- 5:33somehow I love colored, don't get me wrong, always got the The
- 5:48Peking homunculus even mad. What a great.
- 5:51Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:55Yeah. She's got lovely sort of leafy
- 6:00scarf on. Everyone quiet.
- 6:06Well, it's about yeah. Just got quiet delivery series
- 6:14that we should have waited till now really when they are about
- 6:17to gets their army boy. Oh boy!
- 6:19This is where the comedy really begin.
- 6:21Ha ha ha. Yeah.
- 6:24Oh my God. That's the sin doesn't.
- 6:29He just announced the track this Dragon.
- 6:34Let's go see This is unbelievable, isn't it?
- 6:37This whole says great. Well, that's just out there
- 6:40having that like made up. I think it's polystyrene.
- 6:43It's well done. Looks like it's got old.
- 6:46Yeah, it really does. And this is a set in episode 4 +
- 6:52I5. Sorry.
- 6:53So and that's late in my daughter's.
- 6:54I think Maloney was saying that it's just red curtains around
- 6:58the site they'd had run out of money, so they didn't, they had
- 7:00to have curtains as the walls are all looks like state.
- 7:06So if we if we didn't have this set, would we have had sets in
- 7:10Underworld? Is that?
- 7:15But I would say that like, this kind of That with that very
- 7:20elaborate drag about that one. Be happy place like a Bond movie
- 7:23or something like that. You know.
- 7:24No standing in front of that sort of thing with the Chinese
- 7:27head. So it wouldn't be any less
- 7:29racist but I'm saying is the production value on the screen.
- 7:33Yeah. Particularly for everyone's also
- 7:36strong, isn't it? They didn't have to have
- 7:38something like that. They could have gone.
- 7:41They didn't you know, it's just all adds to it.
- 7:43They really want to make this as best as it can be.
- 7:48And this horrible liar is yeah, look at the power.
- 7:51He's got yes, your punishment for disobeying me deaf, but
- 7:57you've got to do it yourself. Yeah, it's literally making take
- 7:59the pill himself. Oh, that's horrible.
- 8:01The way axis as well. That's a very small part.
- 8:04But Yeah, it's he's it really doesn't look nice.
- 8:09Does it the sting of the Scorpion or whatever area them
- 8:12take? It looks horrible.
- 8:14And it's especially contrast. Because then since starts
- 8:17laughing his head off, I touched on it a few times when every
- 8:22time it ended about how good the Cliffhangers are.
- 8:24But that is one of my favorite things about the Hinchcliffe
- 8:27here because I know that he focused on It Meek and that
- 8:31Cliffhanger really good, that makes Doctor Who sing I think
- 8:36when you get the Cliffhangers so good particular favorites, one
- 8:41of the whole Hinchcliffe here. Yeah, well definitely that
- 8:44freeze frame from Genesis of the Daleks that we mentioned before
- 8:47the freeze frame. In Deadly Assassin when he's
- 8:48under the water. Don't wrap those train tracks
- 8:52that. Yes.
- 8:53Yeah. You know like that one day?
- 8:56No. The one in shooting the
- 8:58president is unbelievable. What about the hand in hand?
- 9:01Our fear coming along so at least in the Android invasion is
- 9:05my face. Yeah.
- 9:05Yes, that is right, going? No l just wanted so shocking
- 9:11because you just don't see it coming.
- 9:13And the zygon want just for the noise when the nurse turns out
- 9:18it's a horrible noise. This another like unusual ones
- 9:23as well, like the boats crashing into the rocks of the horror of
- 9:27fang, Rob Williams. Oh yeah.
- 9:36Sorry. Well, I always think in my head
- 9:37because horror of fang Rock has that atmosphere?
- 9:39That Hinchcliffe story. Yeah, in my mind it's there and
- 9:42then the lights come on for invisible enemy and it goes
- 9:44cheap, but Brian Williams officially the first always
- 9:47think horrifying Rockies. Yeah, I forgot how much I do not
- 9:52in that. Who am I
- 10:08I think the point we're trying to make here is there are many
- 10:11if you think of like some of the best Cliffhangers and talk to
- 10:14you, probably bank that over 70%.
- 10:16There would be from this era. Yeah, I'll say the other folks
- 10:20that are probably from Hot Wheels time.
- 10:21He knew I'd stick your finger as well.
- 10:25Anything anything? Throw it squeezed out in the
- 10:37pipes and here's that noise and you guys blew this is before
- 10:43they went to the closer the doctors face and the a that's
- 10:47the that's the one sad thing about the culinary isn't it just
- 10:51everything fungus. Hang on a second Vengeance.
- 10:54On borrows has a brilliant Cliffhanger in the middle.
- 10:57Yeah, it's about. You have a close-up of his face.
- 10:59Just before that, it's the laughs that makes that one.
- 11:05Is that polystyrene bus that comes at the camera revelation?
- 11:31But you know what? This is a long-standing thing,
- 11:34especially in comedy of having like, that class thing that's
- 11:38going on the last, if somebody was Optimus, somebody who's
- 11:41working class coming together and is very funny and very
- 11:44touching. Yeah.
- 11:47It is marvelous and I love the bit where Jay goes really scared
- 11:52and says, I'm going to let the side down and then life said,
- 11:54no, I know you won't, that's great.
- 11:59It's great. Again.
- 12:00It's the sort of thing you don't have time for these days know
- 12:04who's moving at such a lick. You just, I'm not saying you
- 12:06can't have decent characterization because you can
- 12:09use you in the two-part as a bit of time.
- 12:11Yeah. But you don't spend this amount
- 12:13of time with people and it's great as we as the audience of
- 12:16seen, both these characters with the dog to doing different
- 12:19things in various parts, the story.
- 12:20And now we're seeing them come together.
- 12:21So it doesn't matter that there's quite a bit of time
- 12:24without the doctor and Leela. We know these characters well by
- 12:28now I think it's that that allows The be separate
- 12:30characters as well, isn't it allows them to stand on their
- 12:32own as to like Jagger unlike foot.
- 12:36It's not like that. It's not like the other Robert
- 12:37Holmes, double actor, you are. That's a deluxe because they've
- 12:40already been established on the road.
- 12:42She's in a bit there which I goes complimenting him and life.
- 12:46It just goes. Yes.
- 12:47Yeah. Sorry.
- 12:48That's just like you. That is also you for a
- 12:50compliment is weighs exactly the same.
- 12:54So, queer a lot of paraphernalia.
- 12:56It must have been some, our bedroom.
- 13:01Actually do this in the morning but you've done really well
- 13:06going too far with the sexual jokes.
- 13:09I'll be very careful today and I honestly
- 13:20just one file figure the cliff. I could say there's nothing
- 13:23worse than just like a pathetic Cliffhanger and the one I always
- 13:27think of is the hungrier When they just see the sirloin City
- 13:33and it. And that was it at that?
- 13:36No. No.
- 13:36I hate. Is it just leaves your so flat?
- 13:38When I do false, Jeopardy, like snake does.
- 13:41Whereshegoes, like you've got a child's kill her.
- 13:44Then this is like, yeah, we're going to kill the doctor and
- 13:48you're like, yeah, they're crap. All just like someone puts a
- 13:50sword to his neck and go. Right.
- 13:52We're gonna kill you but I'll forgive it more in classic
- 13:54because you get them every week and there's a bad Cliff.
- 13:57I'm going you dr. It really wise meal.
- 13:59So, I like a new doctors when they do something a bit more
- 14:02interesting. I like the human nature on very
- 14:03much where it's like your choice.
- 14:06Yeah. It's great.
- 14:08You know, but it's more like a make a decision as to how this
- 14:11is going to go. Rather than you're in immediate
- 14:14Jeopardy, this great. Yeah.
- 14:15Russell is very good at that. He constantly wants to do a new
- 14:19Cliff anger, doesn't he with his two partners?
- 14:22I think it's bad. Wolf is the doctor telling The
- 14:24Darlings. I'm coming for you.
- 14:26Yeah, there's a behind-the-scenes.
- 14:29Feature of Robert Schumann describing that I don't know if
- 14:32you've seen it. Yeah.
- 14:33But she even says it's his favorite Cliff.
- 14:35I get he describes its so well of why it works so well, it's
- 14:38quality rific. Although I think, oh my God, I
- 14:41can't believe I'm about to do this, especially where you press
- 14:43on, Steven Moffat can put together us.
- 14:47I mean, the Cliffhanger at the end of time of angels, where is
- 14:50like, you don't put any in a trap and yeah, bubble.
- 14:53All right. Billy Graham Norton.
- 14:55Did blunt that a little bit because it's this, fantastic.
- 14:59Event. But I've got a surprise you.
- 15:01But I think think profits at Great, it Cliffhangers, if I'm
- 15:04being honest, he's going on here and like I much prefer the
- 15:08Russell today. This one's a because a lot of
- 15:11Steven Moffat seem to be character is revealed to be
- 15:15someone. See, I've like Missy or you have
- 15:17to war doctor or thing and I noticed that it's bedtime.
- 15:22Darker opens is the pandorica opens?
- 15:25Yeah, that is everything. You get all the Beaming.
- 15:29And then it cuts back till the stars going out.
- 15:32And it's just quiet. I think that might be my
- 15:35favorite ever do. We actually see Chang's
- 15:38disfigured leg now. No, but we are seeing them doing
- 15:41taking some heavy drugs. So, this story is gonna do when
- 15:46it prostitutes drugs. Yeah.
- 15:50And that's what I mean about it. Like it goes on the Fine Line
- 15:53because that's not what you think of.
- 15:55When you think of talents are going to be a long.
- 15:57Wait, if you've got that in the Doctor, Who story.
- 15:59So easy to think oh that's the one with the drugs or The
- 16:02Prostitute. He's don't think that both drugs
- 16:04and prostitutes. And every doctor they stop big
- 16:08finish being adult though. The only story that comes close
- 16:15to this, these sort of elements is revelation of the Daleks,
- 16:19which talks a bit about like necrophilia or something
- 16:23nose-picking, and that's not bad.
- 16:26Do you know what I mean? Yeah, it's got, its got a few
- 16:28moments where you're like, it's He's cannibalism.
- 16:30And all right. Is this obviously, like all the
- 16:34highest-rated Sox, who stories are the serious ones?
- 16:38So is there actually something in the fact that maybe Doctor
- 16:43Who shouldn't be as silly as it can be because when you think my
- 16:47top now I've just added the chase some time and the Rani.
- 16:51So I wouldn't agree with. I'm just asking just generally
- 16:54like the ones that come to the top here, you've got your
- 16:55Genesis, you've got your caves, you've got this, they're all
- 16:58say, Is, yes, then the ones I've stories online, and they're the
- 17:02ones that people that they just don't believe that hasn't seen
- 17:06Doctor. Who you wouldn't choose
- 17:07something like necessarily type of the Ronnie or something like
- 17:10to show you a new that you would want to choose something.
- 17:13I don't know what I but that's, yeah, you do.
- 17:15Go to those ones, don't you? Yeah, I think Genesis would be
- 17:19really good world to show someone new, but then it's six
- 17:22parts. That's the only thing I think I
- 17:24might pull me off. Okay, I'm alright dragon out as
- 17:26male. I maybe it's changed a little
- 17:29bit now. Now in terms of of an opinion
- 17:31generally like time there aren't any but that was what you said
- 17:34job. So I'm still with you.
- 17:35There's a reason I've not watched Islands, allowing time
- 17:37for like two years because it's I couldn't sit through this all
- 17:42the time. It's great when I put it on but
- 17:46there is like they do for my comfort ones.
- 17:48Yeah that's it. No genuinely though is that it
- 17:55whenever I'm thinking of just I'll put something awesome
- 17:58Series 7 just That one. Is she comfortable?
- 18:00Isn't it from Sonora? Arthur on.
- 18:02Oh, that's a good one. Classical tilt Smith emerges and
- 18:06starts trying to snog Jenny. It gets a bit weird.
- 18:10It's just funny. It's just, how will she loves
- 18:15it, canceled? Okay, so now he's seen, Jay
- 18:25Gordon Lightfoot. Wait, it's over-the-top.
- 18:28Look at here, how are you? Gestures with his hands.
- 18:30Yeah. It's, you know what I might take
- 18:32back that comment from a couple of episodes ago, when I said
- 18:35that he doesn't, or is the weakest part.
- 18:37I've actually been with the little bits of seeing quite
- 18:40impressive, Magnus Grill. I think I'm just about to say
- 18:42he's not that big villain for me, like he doesn't make that
- 18:45impact. What not big as in our Glacier
- 18:48is very shallow, he's just not Paul of I like there's so many
- 18:54other elements in the story that he does get a little bit size.
- 18:57Not the most interesting element.
- 18:58Nice meant to be the big bad but I think I did a disservice by
- 19:01saying that he's not that good. Well, does that say something
- 19:04about the rest of this story? Then when a very possible
- 19:07villain is the weakest part of it.
- 19:09Yeah. Says that this story is just
- 19:12fucking Grazie marvelous. Yeah.
- 19:16Oh, dear. Look at these men know quarks
- 19:18are that is the vastness and he says back.
- 19:20I stood a wall that a few times of the glowing statue.
- 19:29I think you've ever noticed that before.
- 19:31It's just gorgeous and look at the depth in the shot as well.
- 19:34I love that shot. That's the moving towards sin
- 19:37and Grill them from the Dragon. I think David Maloney knew how
- 19:43to keep the show. Visually interesting all the
- 19:45time. If you look at his stories, the
- 19:46war games Genesis of the Daleks mind, robber my neck, and keep
- 19:51it looking good, and not that cheap thing.
- 19:54That's so easy. If it's up to who to listen to
- 19:57it, never fails. I think it's the budget rather
- 19:59than his ability to definitely Oh see ya there's no sign of the
- 20:07doctor illegally here. They are literally holding this
- 20:09story which is confident isn't it from Robert house
- 20:13perspective? It's just wrote this on the page
- 20:15but he knows how good the characters are they look at
- 20:19jegos been strangled while we at the theater, so he doesn't know.
- 20:24Sorry. And Grill is like consistently
- 20:37violent for out this as well. He's violent was Lila towards
- 20:40Jay. Go towards his henchmen Leela's
- 20:42violent towards him. The fallen leaves everyone
- 20:47really gives us good. She's yeah, she does.
- 20:49Yeah, when she comes in with a knife shouted, he do.
- 20:52I bed for? Yeah, I mean now we're being
- 20:56anti disabled list as well. Not as bad as time lash, but
- 21:01what you do, it's funny. He's mentioned before about the
- 21:04bomb filled because like, it has very similar wrong values.
- 21:10Does that it's exactly how a Bond film treat lid, the Chinese
- 21:15and it's exactly as they would be the henchmen as well.
- 21:19The Bond films, other disabled villain, most of the time got
- 21:22some sort of this for. Even the most recent one, it's
- 21:26still a thing that has not changed and Layla would be the
- 21:29bottom girl. Yeah we paying.
- 21:30This is ye oldie James Bond. It's nice.
- 21:34Probably too much of a stretch to say.
- 21:36This is not food, was James Bond, but by Forever, Yours me.
- 21:42But also like the way the boss is Builder.
- 21:45You see and bonjour for, you know, your little boss and then
- 21:47you get the big bad. Like we've had Chang, he's gone
- 21:50now. We've got a grill, I missed the
- 21:53sins like that. Comedy scary henchmen, that
- 21:56you're odd jobs that there was this parallels.
- 21:58There is, I don't know what, he's a very fine line between
- 22:01being Embarrassingly funny, and very Sinister and sin crosses
- 22:07that line beautifully. Yeah.
- 22:09You could be like, well, that's just absurd, dull.
- 22:11Then you put a, you put a knife in his hand and make him laugh
- 22:15and you kill shh. Well, that's scary.
- 22:20What's occurring? Now, the don't just got the
- 22:23lattice thing. The key.
- 22:26That's right. So they've got the lattice.
- 22:27He's got the cabinet. Yeah.
- 22:28See. Now this is spinning.
- 22:30Its plates a bit now, in terms of law.
- 22:32Yeah, it's you sort of waiting to get to the, The Showdown at
- 22:36the end now there. But, you know, you've got little
- 22:39it going, we'll get our weapons in fixed positions, to guard the
- 22:42approaches. Really good.
- 22:56I've had a cold but you only see that little space where you
- 23:01don't, then he puts it back on and it's not like he's walking
- 23:04around like but we know, I'm not sure.
- 23:05But you know, that that's under yeah.
- 23:07And that's definitely the right thing to do.
- 23:09I look at this, these two girls that are being kept in a
- 23:12dungeon, but when he needs to suck them, dry Horrible, you
- 23:20know what you do? I mean suck up their life.
- 23:24Essence dry ever since that are said well done, you've just got
- 23:28to sleep backs against the wall. He does say Disney.
- 23:38What I'm speakable horror is to perform these two girls.
- 23:43We know because we're privy to, what's happening?
- 23:46Yeah, they've been sucked. We're going to get sucked
- 23:48anyway. Oh my God, Is It episodes when I
- 23:51go in the dumbwaiter done way? Yeah, it's the best Yeager like
- 23:56that scene. Don't worry.
- 24:02I say Jagger. Look at this.
- 24:04It's a dumbwaiter I'm not very peckish right now.
- 24:09I'm surprised you are too. During cold.
- 24:32I never realized how little Sergeant quick is in this.
- 24:36I think it's just, it's just in that tiny bit at the beginning,
- 24:40isn't it? Well, the girls only in one
- 24:42state gets the smell history, isn't it?
- 24:48Is there anyone for the story that hasn't anyone at all?
- 24:52Okay, see, okay, see. Okay, see, I think it might be
- 24:56the only, it was a missing Adventure as well with Shadows
- 25:02Wen qiang qiang. Yeah.
- 25:04What happens in that? They feed a Mackenzie.
- 25:06Yeah, I've got it. I've never read it.
- 25:08It's very sad. Yeah, I'm like, I might look it
- 25:11up and see when it's there. Well, huh.
- 25:13Cries when she was in that one which I her life and she doesn't
- 25:16go. Well, this all seems a bit
- 25:17familiar. It's there.
- 25:19It's there a story. I feel like it could be on audio
- 25:21where this just mr. Sin.
- 25:26I remember that. Did he bring mr.
- 25:29Simba. It put might be and possibly in
- 25:32Jagger and like foot. But then I think they realized,
- 25:35oh shit, you can't speak so that you you're listening to it and
- 25:38it's just clothes weeping. Angels, I don't usually stop
- 25:41them. Oh well, it says, here, the
- 25:42shadowing chaiienge, the only returning character from talents
- 25:45is mr. Sin or maybe it's that so I'm
- 25:53not sure. No.
- 25:53What is that Alistair Pearson? Doing those covers?
- 25:56Great, those missing Adventure covers.
- 25:58So. Yeah, I like them covers like
- 26:00like photo-realistic covers. So we weren't in the eigth
- 26:04doctor books. A couple, a couple of podcasts
- 26:06ago. I, when I was like 18.
- 26:12What Black Sheep? You talk about the covers.
- 26:14No, no. I just when I was 12 13, I just
- 26:16got the ones that some of the most interesting.
- 26:18So I had like the infinity doctors and the ancestor cell,
- 26:22and I are used to read them. Not have a bloody clue what was
- 26:25going on because I was, because I was a kid, I didn't have any
- 26:28clue about the build-up to it or anything.
- 26:31Ah, grills, got Lila all in there in the Burgh.
- 26:35Only a shadow when Chang you got K9 and canines?
- 26:38Laser sets, mr. Sins wooden parts of Aya.
- 26:42It's a really horrible face. What was that?
- 26:45K9 sets. Mr. Simms wooden Parts on fire
- 26:48apparently in the book. Wow.
- 26:55Fight directed. What is he doing with the golf
- 26:59club the before? She get this.
- 27:01She just fannying around when I hope she's watching.
- 27:03You said, she don't know. Yeah.
- 27:09Yeah. No, no.
- 27:10It's just how do we write that cliffhanger?
- 27:14It is good but I prefer some of the others in this story.
- 27:17I think the time cabinet one is the best one.
- 27:20It's great. Towards the end of a story where
- 27:22sometimes in a six-part it can get a bit repetitive.
- 27:25It's great. You've got that new element or
- 27:27that. Yeah and it's an extra shock
- 27:29just to get you in to Part 6, their makeup is brilliant.
- 27:34I've got some questions fellas, you ready?
- 27:36Yeah. Lit.
- 27:37Roundels. A tell roundels arse did Doctor
- 27:41Who Peak here is? Tom Baker ever truly again as
- 27:45focused and as powerful as he is here, and would this been a good
- 27:51place for Lila to leave? Okay, well, recycling first to
- 27:56good. Yeah, we start from the start,
- 27:57what was the first one? Again, it did Doctor Who peek
- 27:59here. Pretty much probably like any
- 28:03think about it? Obviously you get over high
- 28:05points throughout doctor day. But when we're talking every
- 28:08talking consistency and the Golden Age and the audience,
- 28:13probably, yeah, in terms of like quality maybe until season 26.
- 28:21Yeah. It should value Pete.
- 28:23Dialogue. Pick Direction and Peak
- 28:25offensiveness. Yes, I'm Peak audience, though.
- 28:28I know city of death but that was obviously like this.
- 28:30Strike and everything was getting sort of 11 inches 12
- 28:33million, wasn't it? Yeah.
- 28:35Okay, it's Tom Baker ever truly again as focus and as powerful
- 28:38as is here. So I think he's powerful and to
- 28:43be fair focused in different episodes but I think it's more
- 28:46by accident than than it is in the first three seasons.
- 28:52I think he works really hard and being focused on his character,
- 28:57the first three, and then he's earned the right to Do what you
- 29:02want with the role after that. And to be honest, like, let's
- 29:04see if he was around for Seven Seasons.
- 29:06You wouldn't want him to keep playing it like this.
- 29:08By the time, see season, 18 came along.
- 29:11I love that he's in his era. Is he kind of there's different
- 29:14shades each time? Yeah, I that's what I like about
- 29:16Capaldi's here as well. But no, he said, he's definitely
- 29:21as powerful. I mean, that bit in the pirate
- 29:23Planet, but what's it for? Yes, I love but then it has
- 29:28something to do with Tom Baker. Here are After this, Philip
- 29:31Hinchcliffe is gone. So, is that everybody since that
- 29:34he's known since he started like Elizabeth sladen, is gone,
- 29:39Philip Hinchcliffe. It's a whole it's just sort of
- 29:42Tom Baker now and a whole new lot of some of the products.
- 29:45You see what I'm saying? Maybe that might be the feeling
- 30:02after this then I think I think. Yeah.
- 30:04Yeah. When everybody that saw him into
- 30:06the show's go little. Yeah.
- 30:08It's just him. Yeah.
- 30:10And his ego would this have been a good place for Lila to leave?
- 30:16I don't think so. She's only just started.
- 30:19Well only if they were going to do the series then she could be
- 30:22in it with Jago life her. And now it's a really hard on
- 30:25actually because yeah, she also just started but she doesn't go
- 30:29anywhere for me. And I love but like I said
- 30:33before like Lila makes every story better in Christ.
- 30:39I don't want season 15 to just be Tom Baker, one of the cabbage
- 30:43on his shoulder, didn't they? So yeah I mean just think if we
- 30:46didn't if she left here we never would have had destination
- 30:49overall return to tell us and that would have been a shocking
- 30:53loss grief. And I think that it would have
- 30:56been great for the character. So to end here, just Of these
- 31:00three stories. Really strong.
- 31:02You go. Oh my God I wish we had more.
- 31:05Yeah that's it anymore. That it's forward.
- 31:07But she left. Well no, I mean no, it's my
- 31:13answer. I like Lila.
- 31:14I thought more did there was thoughts of a bringing bringing
- 31:17her back at the end of season 80 as a love Dart.
- 31:21I'm yeah. And any big finish that she's in
- 31:23has made better the War. Doctor sets a pretty dreary and
- 31:26then she turns up towards the end and makes it a million times
- 31:29better. She's making the Gallifrey
- 31:32series Continuing Story in that. I'm too scared to go together.
- 31:39It's great is good. It's like The West Wing on
- 31:42Gallifrey is amazing here. I think it will draw.
- 31:45My, it's pushing the Bellingham as the Mad Inquisitor dark or
- 31:50yeah, the brilliant. Jesus.
- 31:52We're gonna start a big finish by my Mr. Michael says, examine,
- 31:56the significance of the relationship between Jago and
- 31:59Lightfoot. In this story.
- 32:02Well I think we've done that many gonna go over the facts 13
- 32:07but almost all I'll say is this. Yeah.
- 32:10Is is that our and I would do this reading on anybody at all
- 32:14but I don't think they're at it. That's how Charming me.
- 32:18This is played and written is I will not even say that if I
- 32:22think men in close quarters in danger together or not at it, I
- 32:27think the best thing is that the Feel like very close friends
- 32:31from the instantly me to the yes.
- 32:35And I think I've said this a million times before, and I'm
- 32:38going to say it again because we were making is the best carrots
- 32:41and Doctor Who are the ones that you believe had a life before,
- 32:44the story began and would go on to have a life after the story
- 32:47and some characters feel like they're just tailor-made for the
- 32:50Doctor Who Story and there's nothing to them beyond that
- 32:53these to feel fleshed out before after.
- 32:56And during yeah, these two you could write spin-off books like,
- 33:00Lightfoot's Memoirs of his time before.
- 33:03You know I don't do that and say you say he could write their
- 33:06life stories as like a national money to be finished, it will be
- 33:14really interesting is whole free.
- 33:17You know lives for them. Have you seen this a this sort
- 33:21of it but there's a story set from the perspective of their
- 33:26see. Yes and it's red but one of my
- 33:30favorite actually Stephanie kolp, it's meant to be really
- 33:32good. Yeah, not heard it when she was
- 33:35in big finish. Oh no, that was the abandoned as
- 33:38written by Louise Jameson. I've not got to that one yet
- 33:41always really terrible organizations.
- 33:43I've just finished the evil one which was very disappointing.
- 33:47Oh yeah. The master brainwashes Lila
- 33:50using memories of her dad to kill the doctor has got to be
- 33:54Briggs had say many elements that should have been Great and
- 34:01it just didn't even do any sort of new take on.
- 34:04Who am I? I was waiting for.
- 34:05Who am I the whole time? No.
- 34:08But I have to say boys that there will be a pig without a
- 34:10pong if we don't get a shift on. Sorry, lets out this episode
- 34:17with her by now.
