- 0:04Hello everybody. Welcome back to the show.
- 0:06I have meal with me again. Hi everyone.
- 0:09We're going to be doing some of the latest space news.
- 0:11We can do a recap of last week, but happened and what's going
- 0:15forward for next week? A little bit.
- 0:17So Neil, take it away. All right, well, we got some
- 0:22news on might as well finish up with SN 10 as far as we do.
- 0:27So we got a little extra news from Elan regarding the thrust
- 0:32of the engines. The one engine that was Landing
- 0:35Starship 1010. As he says, thrust was low,
- 0:38despite being commanded high for reasons, unknown at present
- 0:42hard, hence, her touchdown. We've never seen this before
- 0:46next time, they're going to go minimum two engines.
- 0:49All the way to the ground and restart engine 3.
- 0:51If one of those two have issues. So they're kind of hedging their
- 0:57bets a little bit, trying to make sure that they can manage
- 0:59the next version of Starship. Interesting that the He thrust
- 1:06was low. Anything could have caused that?
- 1:09I am, we're not the engineers at SpaceX.
- 1:11So smart for us to say, certainly if there was a methane
- 1:14leak in one of the hoses that was certainly reduce pressure
- 1:18and that could have an effect on thrust, my limited knowledge of
- 1:23these things would indicate that And that could be it could be as
- 1:27simple as I could be. Something much more complicated
- 1:29as well but yeah, that's a lot of Plumbing in there.
- 1:31So there's certainly is. Yeah.
- 1:34Yeah. And there there was a fire going
- 1:35on before they landed. So it wasn't the landing that
- 1:39caused the fire. It was already going.
- 1:41So who knows, who knows what happened?
- 1:44The leg legs weren't perfect either when they landed like
- 1:47they did a holdup. So that's why I kind of crumpled
- 1:50and you know, eventually blew up.
- 1:52Oh yeah, joined it. Joined the family.
- 1:54I haven't. You know, I think Ilan said that
- 1:57it wasn't. It wasn't the landing legs.
- 1:59That were the issue here. Yeah, it was, it was a hard
- 2:02Landing. It was very hard.
- 2:04Like it was cool that it landed but it was also very very hard
- 2:09for sure. Didn't expect it to be that hard
- 2:11but glad it landed, but it's ya fella.
- 2:16But you know what? We can't dwell on the past.
- 2:19Will we have to move forward. So we're going to talk about SN
- 2:2211 for a second. Here we We have a road closure
- 2:27for tomorrow. March 8th from 9 till 11:30 a.m.
- 2:33and that is the perfect amount of time to roll SN 11 down the
- 2:36road. Yeah, put it on launch Mount.
- 2:39See, I believe as we're going to put this.
- 2:42So the same with ice and 9 launched off of So that's good
- 2:46news. If you could see a Starship back
- 2:48out there again. Yeah, couple weeks from now,
- 2:50we'll hopefully or probably, you know, probably three to four
- 2:53weeks, maybe a month, you know, men month and a half, who knows?
- 2:56But S11 will be launching next gen ever.
- 2:59That is. Yeah, for sure, I think we're
- 3:01going to have to, we're gonna have to do some more repairs
- 3:03until there's a lot to The Landing Pad again.
- 3:06So that'll be a week of work, for sure.
- 3:08At least. What's that?
- 3:10Hopefully they, you know, and and going Elon, he'll want to
- 3:14ramp up the Iterations of getting this stuff done.
- 3:18So my guess is that he'll be pushing to have a sen Levin
- 3:21launch as soon as possible? Yeah.
- 3:24I don't think it's going to be another month.
- 3:26Yeah I don't think it'll be another month.
- 3:27I think it'll be two to three weeks is my guess.
- 3:31Yeah, we'll see how that goes. Yeah it will say we always guess
- 3:35about two to three weeks and then it's like well something
- 3:38happened said if I didn't go well yeah there's yeah well and
- 3:41then we have to wait like you know it's six weeks at that
- 3:43point whatever. It's interesting that the I
- 3:46found it interesting with the Raptors that are coming from
- 3:49California. Now, our have little memes
- 3:52attached to them now. Oh, yeah, doggie coins and gems
- 3:56or something along those lines. It indicates to me, that they're
- 4:00getting a little cocky that over there in California.
- 4:03Do they think they know this Raptor?
- 4:05And they think they know that is going to work so.
- 4:09Well, it's got to go there like at least the confidence, you
- 4:12know, at least they have the confidence to push forward into
- 4:15need That confidence in your own abilities, for sure.
- 4:18Man, we're going to land this thing.
- 4:20We're going to launch this thing and it's going to be amazing.
- 4:22You just wait till the end of the year when we get to orbit.
- 4:24You know that? Let's go seems a bit that early
- 4:29for me but well, let's hope that we get there by 2100.
- 4:33We would like to do not mind being corrected, same here.
- 4:37Yes. And you found something the
- 4:40other day you wanted to. So, look at what do we got here?
- 4:43Yeah, this is a lot. Okay, so weird Going to do a
- 4:45whole different show on this. I just want to touch on this a
- 4:49little bit today because it's very important for SpaceX to
- 4:54move forward with their Boca Chica facility.
- 4:57Right? So they have a decent amount of
- 5:00room right now. The three using for you know
- 5:02High Bay McBay all the facilities to build the thing
- 5:07about the Starships launched landed, but they need more room.
- 5:12So these things that you're looking at right now Now, our
- 5:15documents from the Army, the US Army, and this is kind of a,
- 5:20it's the overall view of where Starship is now, like where the
- 5:24Starship Kelly is now in Boca Chica.
- 5:26Right there in the project location on the right side, then
- 5:28if you scroll down a little bit meal, well it's interesting
- 5:30before we scroll away, I just want to point out where this the
- 5:34show is brought to you by backblaze.
- 5:36I use backblaze to back up my podcast.
- 5:38My video files, all of my writing stuff and all my photos
- 5:42and you get unlimited computer backup for Macs and PCs.
- 5:45Just seven dollars a month, you can backup your own documents
- 5:48photos videos. Drawings projects, all of your
- 5:51data and access your backed up data from anywhere in the world
- 5:55using the web app and you can access the files on your mobile
- 5:58to iOS Android apps all covered. And this is the cool part.
- 6:01This is my favorite part. You can restore it by mail, a
- 6:03hard drive will come to your house with all your data shipped
- 6:07to your door. I could come to your business to
- 6:09and you can restore return refund program.
- 6:12So you can buy a hard drive restore, send the hard drive
- 6:14back. Within 30 days and get a full
- 6:17refund. So basically they ship you this
- 6:19hard drive and then you ship it back and you don't ever pay for
- 6:22it. Which is the perfect program for
- 6:24somebody who has huge files. You don't want to waste days and
- 6:27days, downloading terabytes and teraflops of data.
- 6:30And if you're worried about accidentally, deleting your
- 6:32files to bucks extra month, you can increase your retention
- 6:35history to one year, and I use it for all of my video.
- 6:39Files comes in super handy. So seven dollars plus two
- 6:42dollars nine dollars a month and you get everything.
- 6:45Backed up. He's a mind for up to a year.
- 6:47And if you use the URL back, place.com slash Ilan, you get a
- 6:53fully featured 15-day. No credit card required, free
- 6:57trial, check it out, play with it.
- 6:59Start protecting yourself from potential, bad times, back your
- 7:02stuff up. It's recommended by the New York
- 7:05Times ink macworld PC World. Life wire wired, Tom's guide and
- 7:09I defied mac and more and it's recently been listed on the
- 7:12NASDAQ stock exchange under blz Ee so you know they're legit
- 7:16back plays is committed more than ever to bring an easy and
- 7:19affordable data storage that you can trust don't be that person
- 7:23that forgot to back up their important files.
- 7:25We've got your back sign up for a free 15 day trial no credit
- 7:29card required go there sign up I you with it it's really
- 7:33powerful. It is really easy to use so go
- 7:35to back. Plays.com / heel on back
- 7:38plays.com Ilan backblaze.com, Ilan.
- 7:45Grand Valley, National Wildlife Refuge has.
- 7:49So, it's just south of where the project location is.
- 7:52We had, it doesn't, it doesn't like.
- 7:53I thought it might before I saw this, I never really looked into
- 7:57it, be honest with you, but I thought that it might come up
- 7:59right to their doorstep, but it looks like there's a little bit
- 8:02of distancing. It's pretty close still.
- 8:04I mean, if with anything that could happen, you know, like
- 8:07it's a big rocket with a lot of fuel, a lot of things to blow up
- 8:09and metal, it's still dangerous, be in like, you know, An area
- 8:15where there's a lot of wildlife. For sure it looks like there's
- 8:19outer dotted line. Here is the SpaceX land that
- 8:23they owned. Yep.
- 8:24And then this purple spot. Yeah.
- 8:27And this little blue area here is a parking lot and then this
- 8:31purple area is what they currently built it yet.
- 8:34So far. So they've got a little bit of
- 8:36space here to work with a space. Yeah, well, yeah.
- 8:41You can see the composition we're looking at fine sand and
- 8:45More fine, sand and some fine sand over here.
- 8:48And then there's some sand over here as well.
- 8:51Exactly. And if anybody's from the book
- 8:53to get area, please prove us wrong and tells us.
- 8:55There's not a lot of sin there. Yeah.
- 8:57But it looks, looks like this. There's a lot of food and we're
- 9:00from the like I'm from the Northeast us.
- 9:02So we don't have a lot of sand. It would I cease?
- 9:04And I'm like, wow, that's a lot. That's a lot of sand.
- 9:08Yeah, I know that building on sand is not the best thing.
- 9:11So I'm sure that they have to put their foundations, quite
- 9:13deep into the hands of the ground.
- 9:15Yeah. And the water, the water table
- 9:16be quite High here to the right by the gulf.
- 9:19So yeah, it's got to be really fast the curlers.
- 9:23Yep. Yeah for sure but there's
- 9:25different different types of land.
- 9:28They got going on Estuary. There's this whole areas
- 9:31Estuary, it fills up, sometimes it disappears sometimes.
- 9:35So that is something they have to contend with as well as a
- 9:37really high that were the high water table.
- 9:39And what do they do with all this water that wants to seep
- 9:42into their land? Yeah, and they're going to be, I
- 9:45mean if you there's a little female and to floods down 1%
- 9:49annual chance, flood Hazard, you know, instead of looks like it's
- 9:53yeah it's everywhere, you know, this whole place could get
- 9:55flooded in any it's like anytime they have a hazardous rainstorm
- 10:01or something, you know. So if they're very, very close
- 10:03to the ocean yellow. Yeah.
- 10:07And that's good though. I'm, they shouldn't have to
- 10:10launch for my mouth, you know. Yeah, it's not the right thing
- 10:12to do, so, Because neither across three, there's a parking
- 10:16lots of this proposed, but there's a lot of land like a
- 10:20little bit South little bit, you know, on this High Marsh areas.
- 10:24I'm not sure what kind of wildlife is down there.
- 10:26But there's been talk in different forums and on Twitter
- 10:30and stuff about like, saving the wildlife there and I'm not sure
- 10:34SpaceX, I mean, I'm sure they care about it but it's not their
- 10:36number one goal. Their number one goal is to send
- 10:38people to Mars. Yeah, I mean, how do they do
- 10:41that? Certainly, it's really have to
- 10:42do everything you can to To protect the wildlife is there
- 10:45certainly any endangered Wildlife is there.
- 10:47Yeah but in the end they purchase this land for a purpose
- 10:52and they really have approval for that.
- 10:54So and I'm sure that they need to get approval based on these
- 10:59plants were looking at right now.
- 11:00But yeah, and then that's why I pointed out the Refuge area, it
- 11:05doesn't look like they're in the weft Refuge area or comes right
- 11:07up to their doorstep. So it looks like this, this is
- 11:11essentially unprotected land is yeah, I hope so.
- 11:16I mean don't forget all the figure it out or at least move
- 11:19some members and people move some Wildlife around with this
- 11:24one will go here. This is an To that document.
- 11:27I just made put it here so we can see it.
- 11:28Oh yeah. So this is the proposed area or
- 11:31the proposed build that they're going to put on the site and
- 11:34that's pretty interesting. Yeah, that's very that's very
- 11:37interesting. Alright.
- 11:39Take, oh, a little bit of a tour around this area.
- 11:43Sure. So parking lot across the street
- 11:47or parking in general right now. They Park all along the side
- 11:50here and a little bit. There's a little bit of a
- 11:52parking lot down there, so, Yeah.
- 11:56So right now, this is what they currently have.
- 11:58So we've got Monch mount a and launch, my be.
- 12:01That's where it's an 11, is going to go to.
- 12:02That's where I sent and launched from this right here.
- 12:06This area is the farm. So that's where all the tanks
- 12:09are for the, for the blocks and nitrogen and methane that they
- 12:13use. They've got some buildings one.
- 12:17Not that's the landing pad that they just destroyed once again
- 12:25and this general area. I don't think it's exactly there
- 12:27but this general area is going to be where I 77.2 is currently
- 12:31sitting Test and yeah yeah, I'm not sure if it's the right
- 12:37there. It might be over here a little
- 12:39bit but it's interesting that facility.
- 12:43But one thing to notice, they do have some stormwater ponds
- 12:46associated with sort of controlling that flood water
- 12:49that might come up. So that's interesting.
- 12:52I'm sure everything sort of draining draining into this
- 12:55piece areas around the building around the place.
- 13:00So if we come over the current existing site Right here is the
- 13:04current orbital. Launch pad that they've got half
- 13:07built right now. And they've got something beside
- 13:10it. What is this going to be?
- 13:11Well, right here, that is the future Tower to move the ol,
- 13:15Starship around through the whole deal around.
- 13:17So that's in the future and do have a 3D model of the other be
- 13:21found on Twitter Bowl. Show you that a little bit nice.
- 13:24It's pretty cool. Look that's going to look wild
- 13:27when it's all done. Yeah for sure.
- 13:30And this area here the currently building that out as sort of a
- 13:35is interesting to me because they're building this out of the
- 13:37tank farm right now. Very much.
- 13:39So there's a lot of concrete being poured up in this area
- 13:43right now. But if we come down a little
- 13:45bit, you'll see another storm Pond.
- 13:47Here's another launch Mount or orbital.
- 13:51So that's interesting to see two of them other landing pad over
- 13:54here and then we've got another tank farm over here detail,
- 13:59which it isn't the middle. They have to go up.
- 14:03They could they launch here they land here, right?
- 14:05They have to go over the the tank farm, why not?
- 14:08I don't Know why they didn't put the tank farm off to the side.
- 14:11Like, well, what's the point of having in the middle of this?
- 14:13There wasn't enough room for it on the right side.
- 14:16Sure it could be the fact that you have to move, the gas has
- 14:20the liquid gas, gas remove the the cryogenic fluids and the
- 14:25less. You have to move them.
- 14:27The better. Perhaps.
- 14:27Yeah. So that could have something to
- 14:30do with it. Yeah and if I mean they have to
- 14:32clear those Towers to though so they'll be they'll have at least
- 14:35enough. I'm assuming enough heightened
- 14:37thrust if If they get over those two hours to get past those tank
- 14:41Farms. But also if something happens as
- 14:45they're going over that tower that whole tank farm could just
- 14:48go away in a glorious that would be that would be horrendous.
- 14:53It really what? It was set them back a long
- 14:55time. Yeah.
- 14:55Very although if they have this secondary Farm over here that
- 15:00they can use our third particular, well yeah that they
- 15:03can use that would help as well. The problem with this tank farm
- 15:07the one they're currently using is it's not Not it won't be able
- 15:10to fill up the fully-loaded Starship and booster.
- 15:13It's just there's not even close to enough there.
- 15:16So they need much larger tanks. Something that is very
- 15:21interesting and the reason that it might be here versus over
- 15:23here over here. Is that this area right here,
- 15:27this is the air separation unit and they are planning on making
- 15:31their own fuel, of course, being Ilan.
- 15:35So are separation. You can take the Air were
- 15:39breathing, which is 78 percent, nitrogen and oxygen, and argon
- 15:42and whatnot, and separate all that out, just by cooling it
- 15:47down. Essentially, do cryogenic
- 15:48levels. So they're going to have one of
- 15:51those there, as well. To make the fuel that would fill
- 15:54up these beasts. You tank Farms, so that's
- 15:57interesting as well. Yeah, very cool.
- 16:00It's all stuffed self-sustaining, you know.
- 16:02You got to be able to build everything in house.
- 16:04Yep. Roland's to found they don't
- 16:07want to, they don't want to live.
- 16:08But themselves to the speed of somebody else.
- 16:11You know for sure that's what big one of the to do.
- 16:13Yeah. One of the problems are going to
- 16:14have. Yeah.
- 16:15Absolutely. One of the problems are going to
- 16:16have with the booster is that it feels.
- 16:18It's going to take a lot of fuel, an awful lot of fuel and
- 16:21to have trucks coming in here all the time to fill these up to
- 16:25the point where they can fill a booster.
- 16:27That's an awful lot of trucks. So if you can constantly hundred
- 16:30percent of the time 24/7, be making your own liquid oxygen
- 16:35and nitrogen to fill the tanks and even met.
- 16:38Nothing at some point. Then that's great.
- 16:43And then the other thing on here, as well as we've got a new
- 16:46entrance here. So currently they are coming in
- 16:49over here. Okay.
- 16:51And they're gonna have another entrance here that will come
- 16:54down and support all of this stuff back here.
- 16:57Pretty easy. So that's good.
- 16:58Much easier access. They don't have to guess where
- 17:00of in and out of pads. Yeah, it'll be a couple of,
- 17:02it'll be a flat. It'll be a flat Road.
- 17:05It can be a purpose-built to move things on it, that are huge
- 17:08and heavy. So that'll be good.
- 17:11Yeah. That's always such time that
- 17:12they fail and Starship. They take off and they landed on
- 17:15the laundromat. Yeah, that's gonna be another
- 17:19way. Thing is that they want to
- 17:21launch the Starships from this, these pads to their oil rigs.
- 17:26Yeah. And then land there and then
- 17:27stack and then launch into orbit and Mars for sure.
- 17:30And why not right if you're going to move, if you're going
- 17:32to, if you need an airplane in a different Airfield, you move the
- 17:36airplane by flying it, you don't put it on the back of the truck
- 17:41so makes sense. And then of course, the Twitter
- 17:45Community has jumped on this little map.
- 17:49We've got here and there. Creating their own.
- 17:51This is Casper Stanley's version of a sort of a work in progress
- 17:55as he says, but some sort of a work in progress of what that
- 17:59area might look like based on plants that we just saw the
- 18:02think Farm here the to launch mounts for orbital here that you
- 18:06watch mounts. First uh, portable orbital here
- 18:08and that existing tank farm. And of course, I'll be happy.
- 18:12He's never going to go away. Yeah, I hope he stays there
- 18:15forever. Yeah.
- 18:17And I hope somebody doesn't run into them and sometimes Yeah.
- 18:22Some some Essence, something, you know.
- 18:25Yeah, for sure. So the other thing I wanted to
- 18:28show was this. Now this is RGV aerial
- 18:30photography. He does fly over flyovers of the
- 18:35of SpaceX facilities launch area as well as build area every
- 18:39week. And he's done this overlay.
- 18:42So you can see, the real picture is what's existing and then the
- 18:47the new stuff is this in white. You focus on, and if I open this
- 18:53in a new tab here, sorry, this is going to be huge here.
- 18:58But if we focus on this area here, you can see these three
- 19:00circles here that is the new tank farm for for this Patti.
- 19:08This orbital launch Mount here and I believe that SpaceX is
- 19:14planning on building their own tanks for this.
- 19:18We've seen The build site we've seen labels on tanks called GSE
- 19:25one. So ground support equipment one.
- 19:28And there's, there's no other reason to make a tank and it's
- 19:30the same size as Starship. Those reason to make that tank
- 19:34except they use it as their pressure tank to hold these
- 19:37foods. And which is interesting to me
- 19:39because I don't know how they keep that cold, they're going to
- 19:45have to insulate these I would think to it otherwise Going to
- 19:50be constantly covered in Frost. And that's interesting from the
- 19:54new are separator units, right? Is that going to be moving over
- 19:57to those tanks and store it there or is?
- 20:01Dude, think it's according to these plans according to these
- 20:03plans, it looks like this is the temporary temporary to me
- 20:07anyway. They put a lot of work that all
- 20:10these great stuff here. That's all pipes.
- 20:13Right. Yeah.
- 20:14So there's something going to be built over here as well, but
- 20:17this, they put an awful lot of work into this for it to be
- 20:22temporary. They're just about ready to pour
- 20:24the concrete of these of these towers here.
- 20:27So there's going to be like a concrete based on So it's
- 20:32interesting. It's very interesting to see.
- 20:35Yeah, there's a lot going on in Bogota area all the time.
- 20:37Yeah. And that that all that is that's
- 20:40excitement, right? That's just going to be exciting
- 20:42to watch the whole thing come through.
- 20:45Yeah, it would accompany you. And thank you for thank you to
- 20:47RGV aerial photography, buried. Marry him Boca Chica gal.
- 20:52All these guys for four. Sharing what they see every day.
- 20:57It's amazing to follow along and then think once they're there,
- 21:00so we can watch. Yep.
- 21:03Thank you to them. Yeah, let me take a quick break.
- 21:06Yeah. And say thanks to our patreon
- 21:08patrons. Thanks that's this year's
- 21:10talking about, thanks to our patreon patrons, patreon.com
- 21:14slash be snooze, pod. Thanks everybody who subscribed
- 21:17to the show, make sure to hit the sub button and thumbs up to
- 21:20help out the algorithm and thanks to our members on YouTube
- 21:23and twitch as well. I just want to get that out
- 21:26there as thanks to everybody out there.
- 21:28Absolutely, thank you. Okay, shifting gears a little
- 21:31bit. We'll talk about Some Landing
- 21:35Lakes. So, with dear Moon let me just
- 21:39come back to this here. All right, with your moon, we
- 21:42got some new renders from from SpaceX.
- 21:46Now we never know whether these are accurate or whether they're
- 21:48just some artists interpretation but you can see there's a little
- 21:53bump out for a leg here and there's another one under here
- 21:58and you can sort of see it as a black box around that because
- 22:02that's of course. This one has the has the
- 22:07protective tiles on it and this one doesn't down here.
- 22:10So. So Eric's kind of Taken Eric X
- 22:13has kind of taken this as as sort of a hint as to what the
- 22:19legs might look like. And these guys love to have to
- 22:23speculate, so they're going to figure it out, he's put together
- 22:26a couple of different ideas. So here's one here, where the
- 22:29like simply drop down and lay flat this area.
- 22:34Yeah, up here will become shock absorber kind of area.
- 22:37I would think these give another option here.
- 22:41Please wants kind of pop out, give a little bit more of a base
- 22:47to land on rather than just flat straight down.
- 22:52And then he's got some that pop out and, and land very much like
- 22:55a falcon. I might.
- 22:56So that's very interesting to see.
- 22:58I love these guys and the renders that they're doing
- 23:02amazing to watch sort of those Minds at work.
- 23:04Kind of like the second. Okay, so here we've got a dome
- 23:09that's about to be sleeved and this is where I got the
- 23:12information for the ground support equipment 1.
- 23:15So, this is this is called Ground support GSE one ground,
- 23:18support equipment one and that's likely going to be Used as a
- 23:21pressure tank for the farm. So that's very interesting to
- 23:24see little tie in little call back there.
- 23:26Yeah, yes. There should have that around
- 23:28but okay, it's all right. So, yeah, that's that's sort of
- 23:32what's going on SpaceX this week and the other things going on in
- 23:36this world is of course, perseverance.
- 23:40Yeah. And I'm not that worried until
- 23:42shot. Then another world.
- 23:43Yeah. That's a beautiful shot.
- 23:47You can see that's, what's wealth.
- 23:48What's all this here? Will.
- 23:49I wonder I wonder if perseverance has moved a little
- 23:53bit. It does look like, it doesn't.
- 23:55What is it? 15 or 16 feet, Percy's moved.
- 23:57Yeah, something like that. Yeah, they move them forward a
- 24:00little bit and left hand turn, and then like that so much, they
- 24:05moved again. So everything seems to be going
- 24:07really well for perseverance so far.
- 24:10It's great to see more tracks on Mars.
- 24:13Oh yeah, you can even see up here that day, Rock up sort of
- 24:16pushed out of the way as they were turning or something.
- 24:19So that's cool too crazy that that's on Mars.
- 24:23Yeah, that's pretty special blows my mind.
- 24:25The pictures are so beautiful, right?
- 24:27The picture. So clear eautiful great cameras.
- 24:31This is just a picture of Martha's.
- 24:32I thought it was awesome. Just the rocks that you're
- 24:34looking at. It doesn't look real.
- 24:36It looks like you're here. Just trying to your coloring a
- 24:39picture from from Earth. Yeah.
- 24:41It just beautiful. Yeah.
- 24:43It looks like somebody built something to look like something
- 24:45that's on Mars in the foreground.
- 24:47Yeah because it look like maybe some bills.
- 24:50Let's just we'll just blur it a bit and it look like over there.
- 24:54Don't get the conspiracy theorists.
- 24:55Oh going, I don't feel hats. Yeah.
- 25:04So I thought that was really cool.
- 25:07Yeah, very cool. And for on the same track as
- 25:12perseverance. This is this little white dot is
- 25:14where perseverance landed, and this is kind of the proposed
- 25:20track that they want to follow our path.
- 25:22They want to follow on Mars to, to do all the experience that
- 25:24they're looking for. So you can see there's a big
- 25:27Delta here, this, huge Delta, and they want to get in there
- 25:30and explore that and and look for signs of life and look for
- 25:34other other geological. Mixed do some sampling and that
- 25:38sort of thing all the way up into the nerd.
- 26:06R. It seems like that jaggedy like
- 26:09see where it's where they're doing those couple switchbacks
- 26:12that right here going on. Yeah switchbacks there for sure.
- 26:15They're going to be going up there and then you've got these
- 26:18weird little things like this. What's going on here?
- 26:20Yeah that's either. They need to our, why did they
- 26:24need to do that? What's going on?
- 26:25Yeah. Looks it looks like yeah.
- 26:29That's going to be a long drive. How long do you think they see
- 26:32how long it's going to take them to do this drive anywhere?
- 26:35I didn't see it. Well, there's a scale down.
- 26:36Two kilometers is the length of this.
- 26:38So it looks like a long way but it's not terribly long.
- 26:43But this will be a few months, for sure.
- 26:45At least, if not more. This might be the next couple of
- 26:48years. Yeah, could be, is that course,
- 26:50they're stopping right there stopping the entire time and
- 26:52doing science, as they go in the Rover will be dropping samples
- 26:57as well as they go along. So, for sure.
- 26:59It'll be sciencing the whole way.
- 27:01Yep. And it sounds like they're
- 27:03they're closer to selecting Northrop Grumman Grumman as as
- 27:06the building the the vehicle to bring those samples back.
- 27:11It's crazy. It's like that's cool.
- 27:13That's nuts. But I don't how, what, what?
- 27:18There's gonna be. There's a, there's a Rover
- 27:20that's packing up stuff from Mars, along the way, it drops,
- 27:23these tubes of the stuff and then there's another Rover.
- 27:26That'll just fly there from Earth land perfectly and then
- 27:31the Rover will drive along the same route.
- 27:33Is Percy, does pick those things up, its specific points.
- 27:36It's and then fly back to Earth with those things.
- 27:41Yeah, it's crazy. That's science fiction.
- 27:44That's yeah, so in the next couple weeks, hopefully, we get
- 27:46to see a helicopter on Mars. Yeah, that's I'm gonna freak
- 27:50out, so, that's cool. And then, when that, that Next
- 27:55Rover are thing from my from Northrop Grumman foot lands will
- 28:00see the first launched from Mars, so that'll be pretty cool
- 28:03too. That's that's nuts, man.
- 28:07I don't get it. I don't understand it, but I'm
- 28:10going to freak out when it happens.
- 28:11Mmm, and be honest, absolutely not.
- 28:14Hopefully everybody joins us for the live stream on that happens
- 28:17because that's going to be fun. It's gonna be a good one.
- 28:21Cannot wait. I cannot wait everything every
- 28:23single day. I can't wait to see what they're
- 28:25going to do next. Yeah, there's so much stuff.
- 28:28Yeah, and I've got a couple things that I just thought were
- 28:31really cool and I thought that people might want to see.
- 28:33And one is this picture of Enceladus which is a moon of
- 28:37Saturn, but it's nice. It's a nice moon, but small.
- 28:42But as I just thought it was a really cool picture.
- 28:45It's beautiful, just incredible. That is a few.
- 28:48Yeah, that exists. That's an arsehole.
- 28:50We can go there soon. Yeah, we probably.
- 28:54But yeah, you can see these old, you know, meteorite impact sites
- 29:01if contrasted with the obviously flowing water, and ice moving
- 29:06down here quite just quite beautiful.
- 29:09Yeah, that's something. That's so kind of office.
- 29:12This gets any bigger. Oh, yeah.
- 29:14Oh yeah. Oh yeah, that's the stuff.
- 29:16Wow. Yeah.
- 29:18Just just a gorgeous gorgeous. Wow.
- 29:20Moon. And I can't wait till we go
- 29:23there. Look at that detail to and
- 29:25that's yeah, that's not here like that that's far.
- 29:29Far away in space. Yeah.
- 29:32Yeah. The stuff blows my mind, man.
- 29:34It's just the color itself is just beautiful to.
- 29:36Yeah. So subtle just hanging out and
- 29:40yeah, we're just waiting for us to show up and yeah.
- 29:45Drill into it, drill into it, find some life under there.
- 29:49And then the other thing I've got is crew, one busy away.
- 29:54This is Commander, Mike and Mike Hopkins, and he says he's grown
- 29:58plants. Look at them.
- 29:59Look at those plants. It looks like kale to me, but
- 30:03look at the size of them. That's awesome.
- 30:06Yeah, presently large. It was the time you see like,
- 30:09you know, like those little tiny plants or like this big like
- 30:11little clovers and stuff. Yeah, yeah this is like a I plan
- 30:15these are the kind of things that they're going to need to be
- 30:17able to do on their trips to Mars eventually, one day, that's
- 30:20for sure. So important, because we learned
- 30:22things from the ISS to take to other missions.
- 30:25So hip and, and the lights are sort of reddish magenta color
- 30:31because the plants respond for the walls of that color.
- 30:33So in the light spectrum. So that's why they, that's why
- 30:38they use that color. Oh well, I didn't know that.
- 30:40Yeah, yeah. So yeah, they don't, they don't
- 30:42use all the white light, they mostly use this.
- 30:45Bluish and red color. Select the green doesn't get
- 30:49used a lot. So yeah, it's a but you can see
- 30:52as I found it, interesting as well as head has gotten much
- 30:54larger. That's he's been you know, your
- 30:58body is used to pumping a lot of blood to your head, your brain,
- 31:03of course, and it's hard to do that going uphill, but so when
- 31:07you're getting when you're in space, there's no gravity to
- 31:09pull that blood back down. So your head gets a little bit
- 31:11larger because of all the blood that's more in into it.
- 31:16Yeah, it happens within the first couple days to get people,
- 31:18get kind of like a vertigo. Kind of like they kind of get a
- 31:21little bit sick because laughs because the blood doesn't really
- 31:24know where don't get pumped to. So yeah, it's it's his head is
- 31:28pretty big. Hey, Mike, you got a big head,
- 31:32don't let it go to your head looking good though.
- 31:35But uh, yeah, I really enjoy this aspect of what's happening
- 31:41at the ISS, so I think it's fascinating.
- 31:44I think it's necessary for our future and it's really cool.
- 31:50Yeah, I agree. Yeah, that's all I had for the
- 31:53day. Perfect, that's all we need.
- 31:57Yeah, thanks everybody for hanging out.
- 31:59We're going to be doing more of these things and if you like it,
- 32:02make sure to give it a thumbs up, make sure to leave a comment
- 32:04to, because we want to know if you like this format and why
- 32:09you'd like it to that's important too.
- 32:12So we will be doing more of these in the future where Neal
- 32:16and I sit down and hang out and talk and we'll have other people
- 32:19on and talking about other subjects from, you know,
- 32:22possibly different companies and Etc.
- 32:25We have some other special guests lined up and we'll tell
- 32:28you about those in the future. If it all works out, I have to
- 32:32put that disclaimer in there. If everything works out, I'll
- 32:34have some subjective change subject to change.
- 32:38Yes, he's some pies. Anyway, yeah, thanks for
- 32:43watching, appreciate it. Yes, thanks everyone right here
- 32:46for now. Bye bye.
- 32:47Bye bye.
