- 0:00This is the place where we talk about the fifth epical
- 0:02revelation. Welcome to the Rancho Radio
- 0:05podcast. Very interesting person in
- 0:09spiritual history, someone who is known throughout scripture
- 0:12also is very well and highly regarded in in Catholicism,
- 0:19particularly in Africa, among Catholics in Africa and also
- 0:25part of the Islamic faith and very entrenched in the earlier
- 0:29teachings that eventually survived through Moses.
- 0:34His name is Melchizedek and we're going to be talking about
- 0:37him in just a moment. I think you'd be fascinated by
- 0:40this story and it reveals a lot about the way truth is
- 0:43disseminated to humanity. This segment of the program now
- 0:48has a sponsor, one that I personally vouch for.
- 0:51Low cost airlines. If during the summer season or
- 0:54during the winter season, the holiday season, you are
- 0:57traveling about and you need a good price, reliable way to get
- 1:01a ticket, whether you're flying or a hotel or a car, Low Cost
- 1:06Air. Here is the phone number.
- 1:07It's 800-654-0759. Write that down, put it in your
- 1:12wallet or your purse and next time you need a flight, Low Cost

- 1:26The light of God shines from you, Moses.
- 1:30Do not kneel to me, Joshua. These.
- 1:34Tablets of stone. The writing of God, His 10
- 1:40commandments. There is a noise of war in the
- 1:43camp. It is not the noise of war, it
- 1:48is the noise of song and revelry.
- 1:50Moses, you are not worthy to receive these 10 commandments.
- 1:57We will not live by your commandments.
- 1:58We're free. There is no freedom without the
- 2:02Law. And today we're going to take a
- 2:22look at Macho Venta Melchizedek. And I want to particularly talk
- 2:27to my friends of the Christian faith in your Bible.
- 2:31It will tell you that there was sort of a spectacular event that
- 2:36happened during the times of Sodom and Gomorrah.
- 2:42And the names Melchizedek will probably be some somewhat
- 2:46familiar to you. You'll learn about Abraham if
- 2:53you know your stories about Abraham and Isaac his son.
- 2:57And it was really the beginnings of the Hebrew nation really,
- 2:59that was the whole point of Macheventa, choosing Abraham to
- 3:04be his protege, if you will. So this Melchizedek fellow who
- 3:10was mentioned in the Bible as the sage of Salem arrives on the
- 3:15scene in the biblical account and he has a series of
- 3:18conversations and convinces Abraham that he is going to be a
- 3:23great king and that his seed will be the seed of a nation.
- 3:28Now how did this sage of Salem know this?
- 3:30Well, he was a a son of a divine order, as it's mentioned in the
- 3:36Bible that he is without pedigree, without mother and
- 3:40father. So he's pretty mysterious
- 3:42fellow. The Urantia Book dedicates
- 3:46several papers to this individual and in specific
- 3:50tones. We also learn a lot about these
- 3:54orders of Melchizedek sons. Macheventa is one of these 12
- 3:59orders of Melchizedeks who are, they're like custodians.
- 4:05They show up, they represent Michael, the Creator's son.
- 4:10They are the eldest. I kind of consider them the
- 4:13elder sons of heaven. They they serve at the pleasure
- 4:19of their father. Who is the Creator's son and who
- 4:23was the Creator's son? Well, the Creator's son is
- 4:25Michael. And who was Michael?
- 4:28Michael was Jesus Incarnate as a bestowal son during his sojourn
- 4:33here on our planet. So now we get to the story where
- 4:37this emergency son makes an appeal to the Most high rulers
- 4:44of Edensia and says we've got a real problem on planet Earth and
- 4:50this is what they say about this.
- 4:52This comes from Paper 93, Section 1.
- 4:57Revealed truth was threatened with extinction during the
- 4:59millenniums which followed the miscarriage of the Adamic
- 5:03mission on Urantia. So now we're looking at Adam and
- 5:08Eve came approximately 40,000 years ago, and this is 17 or
- 5:13this would be 23,000 years after that event when the Adamic
- 5:19mission had faulted or defaulted.
- 5:23So they write that though making progress intellectually, the
- 5:27human races were slowly losing ground spiritually.
- 5:30About 3000 BC, the concept of God had grown very hazy in the
- 5:35minds of men. So in paraphrasing, the Adamic
- 5:42mission had failed to take root when it came to spiritual
- 5:46truths, and they started to sort of fizzle out over time.
- 5:51And mankind had a very hazy concept of deity, of anything
- 5:56having to do with the spiritual nature.
- 5:58Intellectually they were making great progress, but spiritually
- 6:02they were not. So they write that the 12
- 6:05Melchizedek receivers knew of Michael's impending the stole on
- 6:09our planet, but they did not know how soon it would occur.
- 6:14Therefore, they convened in solemn counsel and petitioned
- 6:17the Most Highs of Edentia that some provision be made for
- 6:20maintaining the light of truth on our world.
- 6:24This plea was dismissed with the mandate that the quote conduct
- 6:28of affairs of Urantia is fully in the hands of the Melchizedek
- 6:32custodians. The receivers then appeal to the
- 6:35Father Melchizedek, the first born, for help, but only
- 6:39received word that they should continue to uphold truth in the
- 6:44manner of their own election until the arrival of the
- 6:48bestowal Sun. So this puts the Melchizedek
- 6:51order, the custodians of our world, into sort of a what do we
- 6:56do? Because we know Michael is going
- 6:58to show up at some point. We know that he has selected
- 7:01this world as his 7th bestowal, but if the people aren't ready
- 7:06to receive him, then it is. It's not going to be in a very
- 7:10effective mission. And so this is.
- 7:15The decision was ultimately made and Macheventa, one of the 12
- 7:20Melchizedek sons, volunteered to bestow himself in a manner as
- 7:27follows. It was 19173 years before the
- 7:31birth of Jesus that Macheventa was bestowed upon the human
- 7:35races of Urantia. His coming was unspectacular,
- 7:40his materialization was not witnessed by human eyes, and he
- 7:44was first observed by mortal man on that eventful day when he
- 7:48entered a tent of Amdon, A Chaldean herder of Sumerian
- 7:54extraction, and the proclamation of his mission was embodied in
- 7:59the simple statement which he made to the shepherd.
- 8:02Quote I am Melchizedek, priest of Elian, the Most High, the one
- 8:08and only God. When the herder had recovered
- 8:12from his astonishment and after he had plied the stranger with
- 8:16many questions, he asked Melchizedek to Sup with him.
- 8:20And this was the first time in his long universe career that
- 8:24Machevente had partaken of material food.
- 8:29The nourishment was to sustain him throughout his 94 years of
- 8:33life as a material being. And that night, as they talked
- 8:38out under the stars, Melchizedek began his mission of revelation
- 8:42of the truth of the reality of God, When with a sweep of his
- 8:46arm, he turned to Amdon, saying, quote, Elian, the Most High is
- 8:52the divine creator of the stars, of the firmament, and even of
- 8:56this very earth on which we live, and he is also the supreme
- 9:00God of heaven. Within a few years, Melchizedek
- 9:06had gathered around him a group of pupils, disciples and
- 9:09believers who form the nucleus of the later community of Salem.
- 9:15He was soon known throughout Palestine as the priest of
- 9:19Aliyan, the Most High, and the Sage of Salem.
- 9:22Among some of the surrounding tribes, he was often referred to
- 9:26as the Sheikh or king of Salem. Salem was the site which, after
- 9:31the disappearance of Melchizedek, became the city of
- 9:34Jebus, subsequently being called Jerusalem.
- 9:44He spoke Chaldean and a half dozen other languages.
- 9:48He dressed much as did the Canaanite priest, except that on
- 9:52his breast he wore an emblem of the three concentric circles.
- 9:56In the course of his ministry, this Insignia of three
- 9:59concentric circles became regarded so sacred by his
- 10:03followers that they never dared to use it, and it was soon
- 10:07forgotten with the passing of a few generations.
- 10:11So I want to stop there and I want to go to the next section
- 10:16where it talks about his teachings.
- 10:17Because this is really where it's becomes important to
- 10:20understand how it is that the Urantia book, which I mentioned
- 10:24in the previous episode, how it validates the Bible.
- 10:29And there's a reason why the biblical teachings are so much
- 10:33correlated in the Urantia book for the reason that the Bible
- 10:37came about as a result of the revelation of Christ.
- 10:43Before that, the revelation of Adam and Eve, the early
- 10:47revelation of Calagastia, which ironically survives through the
- 10:54teachings of the subsequent revelations, Adam and Eve.
- 10:57OK, so the Bible is in itself a reservoir of the, I have to say,
- 11:04the spiritual crumbs that take us into the past.
- 11:10So what did he teach? Well, to the rank and file of
- 11:18his followers, He made no effort to present teachings beyond the
- 11:22fact of the rulership of the Most High.
- 11:26He spoke of the Most High and, and that's where the biblical
- 11:29references come from. They are derived from the
- 11:32teachings of Melchizedek. But Melchizedek had taught
- 11:35advanced truth, embracing the conduct and organization of the
- 11:39local universe, which is what the Urantia book does as well.
- 11:44And he had a brilliant disciple, Nordan of Kenite of the Kenite
- 11:50tribe, Nordan, Nordan, the Kenite and his band of earnest
- 11:55students to them he taught the truths of even the Super
- 11:58universe and even Havona. Now this is an important lesson
- 12:03to us as Urantia book readers, because if you understand that
- 12:06Melchizedek and his method, he did teach advanced truth to
- 12:11certain people who are willing or capable of understanding the
- 12:15truth. But to the rank and file, he
- 12:18didn't teach advanced truth. He he just basically taught
- 12:21monotheism, one God over many. Now the members of the family of
- 12:27Catro, with whom Melchizedek lived with for more than 30
- 12:30years, knew many of these higher truths and long perpetuated them
- 12:34and their family even to the days of their illustrious
- 12:39descendant Moses, who thus had a compelling tradition of the days
- 12:45of Melchizedek handed down to to him on this his father's side.
- 12:51His father was named Catro. Catro was a descendant of Nordan
- 12:56who actually lived with Melchizedek for 30 years now.
- 13:00Can you? Yeah, 30 years.
- 13:02Can you imagine what Catro must have learned?
- 13:05He might be the most lucky individual, aside from the
- 13:09apostles, to have lived and gotten to know.
- 13:12You get to know someone over 30 years, they must have become
- 13:16great friends. And it's the link between Moses
- 13:21and and Abraham is that Catro, while he wasn't the one that
- 13:25found the the Hebrew faith as Abraham had done, he still was
- 13:32instrumental in carrying the the truths that he had down his
- 13:36lineage. So he may have been the great,
- 13:39great grandfather of Moses. And Moses then took those great
- 13:43truths and became the founder of the first five books of the
- 13:48Torah and the Hebrew faith. And that Hebrew faith survived
- 13:59and continues to survive on the pages of the New Testament
- 14:04because all of the apostles were raised on the Old Testament, the
- 14:08old truths, the old laws of Moses.
- 14:11So in this way, the Urantia Book validates the biblical teachings
- 14:17by showing the connection between Melchizedek and what he
- 14:21taught his followers on down the line through the Kenites, who
- 14:26then passed through their Catro, Moses's father.
- 14:30And then from then they became absorbed into the Christian
- 14:33teachings which we now have at our disposal in the New
- 14:36Testament. But the lessons learned here,
- 14:39and I'll just end with this and from Paper 93, Section 3,
- 14:43Melchizedek taught the followers of his day all they had the
- 14:47capacity to receive and assimilate.
- 14:50That's a lesson for us in the Urantia community.
- 14:53Don't get too far advanced, at least initially when you're
- 14:57talking to people about the Urantia book because these are
- 15:00advanced truths and not everybody is ready for advanced
- 15:04truths. Sometimes when we over teach, we
- 15:07drive people away. It's too much.
- 15:11I know I'm guilty of that. So from paper 93.3 it says even
- 15:15many modern religious ideas about heaven and earth of man,
- 15:19God and angels are not far removed from those teachings.
- 15:22These were considered advanced teachings from Melchizedek.
- 15:26But this great, great Teacher subordinated everything to this
- 15:31doctrine of one God, a universe Deity, A heavenly Creator, a
- 15:36divine Father. Emphasis was placed upon this
- 15:40teaching for the purpose of appealing to man's adoration and
- 15:45at preparing the way for the subsequent appearance of Michael
- 15:48as the son of this same universal Father.
- 15:53Melchizedek taught that at some future time another Son of God
- 15:57would come in the flesh, but that he would be born of a
- 16:01woman. And This is why numerous later
- 16:03teachers held that Jesus was a priest or minister.
- 16:08Quote forever after the order of Melchizedek, which is a quote
- 16:12from the Bible. And thus did Melchizedek prepare
- 16:16the way and set the monotheistic stage of world tendency for the
- 16:22bestowal of the actual Paradise Son of the one God whom he so
- 16:27vividly portrayed as the Father of all, and whom he represented
- 16:33to Abraham as a God who would accept man on the simple terms
- 16:37of personal faith. And Michael, when he appeared on
- 16:41Earth, confirmed all that Melchizedek had taught
- 16:44concerning the Paradise Father. So there are so many different
- 16:50takeaways from this story #1 the confirmation of Melchizedek as a
- 16:54divine revealer of truth #2 how the truth survived down through
- 17:00several factions, but primarily through the descendants of the
- 17:03Kenites and Nordan who actually knew Melchizedek.
- 17:08And then of course, through the other method which we're more
- 17:10familiar with, which is the Abramic teachings which survive
- 17:14even to this day, not only in Christianity and in the Jewish
- 17:18faith, but also in the Islamic faith, which as its predecessor,
- 17:24Zoraster, was able to learn from some of the teachers who came
- 17:28from the Melchizedek schools. And all of this brought into a
- 17:33cohesive manner and understandable through the
- 17:36revelation of the Urantia book. So this is a good example, one
- 17:41of thousands of examples, by the way, 'cause we haven't even
- 17:44gotten to the the apostles. The revelation of the apostles
- 17:48and their interaction with Christ more than validates the
- 17:53words that we read in the New Testament as we explore the
- 18:00Urantia book and talking about the validity that it provides to
- 18:04both the Old and the New Testament as documents of
- 18:07spiritual truth. Indeed.
