- 0:10Dayna Roselli: Shots, shots, shots.
- 0:11Dayna Roselli: All right, pack your appetite on your next Vegas trip.
- 0:14Dayna Roselli: Buffets are back.
- 0:15Dayna Roselli: Here are our first hand experience inside Caesar's newly remodeled food joint.
- 0:20Sean McAllister: And digital tickets seem to be the new norm as demand is huge for some just announced headliners.
- 0:26Dayna Roselli: All right, let's spin the wheel and get rolling.
- 0:40Dayna Roselli: It is episode 69 of Vegas Revealed.
- 0:44Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone.
- 0:44Dayna Roselli: I'm Dana Roselli.
- 0:46Sean McAllister: And I'm Sean McAllister.
- 0:47Sean McAllister: And Dana, this is our first time being back together in a couple weeks after your trip back to hometown of Rochester, New York.
- 0:54Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 0:55Dayna Roselli: Went in to check on my parents.
- 0:57Dayna Roselli: Uh hung out for 10 days with them and friends from home.
- 1:00Dayna Roselli: It was a really nice break and uh did a lot around the house, opened the above-ground pool.
- 1:06Sean McAllister: And uh speaking of that, you were wearing your Fitbit while you were doing that, and the little chart that it gives you, it looks like a two-year-old scribbled on some paper.
- 1:15Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 1:16Dayna Roselli: Oh, I was gonna tweet it.
- 1:17Dayna Roselli: It's so funny.
- 1:18Dayna Roselli: I was like, wow, look at me running around.
- 1:20Dayna Roselli: It recorded it as a run.
- 1:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, uh running around opening the pool.
- 1:23Dayna Roselli: It was insane.
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: But I had so much fun with uh my parents.
- 1:26Dayna Roselli: I hadn't seen him in a long, long time.
- 1:28Dayna Roselli: So uh, you know, my dad's back at the senior center playing cards.
- 1:31Dayna Roselli: They had quiz show game day, and he got too right.
- 1:36Dayna Roselli: And it's so fun to watch dad go and come home and talk about if he won or lost or, you know, all that.
- 1:42Dayna Roselli: And then bocce season's starting up soon.
- 1:44Sean McAllister: Oh, that's a big deal.
- 1:45Dayna Roselli: It's a big deal, yeah.
- 1:46Dayna Roselli: But they're doing really well, and I had a great time at home in New York.
- 1:50Dayna Roselli: The weather was chilly, but it was a nice change because I come back and it's like hot, hot, hot here.
- 1:54Sean McAllister: No kidding.
- 1:54Sean McAllister: And there was a lot that happened while you were gone, too.
- 1:57Dayna Roselli: And so much.
- 1:58Sean McAllister: From the second you landed, there has just been a ton of updates for us to talk about this week.
- 2:05Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 2:05Dayna Roselli: And one of the big ones is the mask.
- 2:07Dayna Roselli: We talked a little bit about it last week, but you know, the CDC recommended that people that have been fully vaccinated don't need to wear masks.
- 2:14Dayna Roselli: And the number one question I get, I feel like on social media, and I'm sure you do too, is do we have to wear masks in hotel casinos?
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: Where can I take my mask off?
- 2:24Dayna Roselli: And um, that's been something that a lot of our folks that listen and are aren't in Las Vegas keep asking, like, okay, I'll come back if we don't have to wear masks.
- 2:33Sean McAllister: Right.
- 2:34Sean McAllister: And as you mentioned, that mask guidance from the CDC was happening just as we recorded last week's podcast.
- 2:41Sean McAllister: And since then, uh pretty much every resort, uh hotel and casino has come out and said, if you are vaccinated, if you are fully vaccinated, you do not have to wear a mask on property.
- 2:55Sean McAllister: And that goes for not only the hotel casino guests, but for employees who work there too.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, anyone who's unclear on that, I mean, just you know, literally, as far as we know, most have adopted this.
- 3:10Dayna Roselli: And, you know, just you know, call and check if there's somewhere you want to stay and you're just not sure, just to double check.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: But wearing the mask um is a thing that has kept a lot of people away.
- 3:22Dayna Roselli: Let's put it that way.
- 3:23Dayna Roselli: I mean, people didn't mind the the social distancing so much and some of the safety procedures, but the mask is something that I hear often of like, well, I don't want to come and wear a mask.
- 3:34Sean McAllister: Right.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: So I think it's gonna be a big game changer for folks visiting Las Vegas.
- 3:38Sean McAllister: And if you do anything off of the strip, especially if you go to a restaurant or anything, there are still, you know, individual restaurants are making their own rules in regard to masks at this point.
- 3:51Sean McAllister: So you may still encounter some establishments that do ask you to wear a mask inside.
- 3:58Sean McAllister: However, uh on the strip, it's a different story.
- 4:02Sean McAllister: And coming up in a little bit, we're gonna be talking about uh strip buffets.
- 4:07Sean McAllister: And we are going to Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's Palace, and I checked to make sure that what their situation was, and they said, no, if you are fully vaccinated, you do not have to wear a mask.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and then the follow-up question to that I keep getting is well, how are they gonna know if you're vaccinated?
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: And it's like, listen, here's the deal it's an honor system, and if you're fully vaccinated, you don't need to wear wear a mask.
- 4:34Dayna Roselli: If you're not, you should be wearing a mask.
- 4:36Dayna Roselli: If you don't, that's on you, I guess.
- 4:39Sean McAllister: And the honor system, people's uh, you know, people are questioning the honor system, and that just goes to shows how much confidence we have in our fellow citizens, doesn't it?
- 4:49Dayna Roselli: Really?
- 4:50Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 4:51Dayna Roselli: Okay, well, speaking of Caesars, uh, something we wanted to touch on today is a big change when it comes to their shows.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: We were just chatting about this last week when it came down, Sean and I and decided not to go with it on the podcast, but uh something that's developed in the last week is Caesar's making changes to its showrooms.
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: And what I mean by that is they've decided to close a lot of the small showrooms at their properties.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: Off the top of my head, um, the Rio showroom where the Chippendales performed.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: The Cleopatra's Barge, which was iconic and obviously through the years has had many different performers.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: Um there was just a little dance club for a while, then Matt Goss performed there, then Wayne Newton and uh my my uh my neighbor, Dion Warwick.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: Oh, that's what friends are for.
- 5:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's what friends are for.
- 5:44Dayna Roselli: She lived in my building.
- 5:45Dayna Roselli: Um, but lots of people have performed there through the years, and then what other ones closed?
- 5:49Dayna Roselli: The I think it's the Crazy Girls Theater.
- 5:51Sean McAllister: The Crazy Girls Theater at uh Planet Hollywood has closed, and that was aside from Legends and Concert, one of the longest-running shows on the strip, they're now having to look for a new home because the smaller showroom there at Planet Hollywood is closing down.
- 6:06Sean McAllister: Essentially, Caesars has come out and said that they are focusing their attention on big name acts in the larger showrooms.
- 6:17Sean McAllister: And uh the smaller performance venues are closing down for the foreseeable future, and what that means is that most of the local entertainers who depend on those venues to be open for a livelihood are once again finding themselves out of gigs.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I I was watching um social media the other day and I was noticing a lot of people post um Vin A from the Bronx Wanderers said that you know they're no longer gonna have their show.
- 6:49Dayna Roselli: I believe they were at Hara's, and they'll still be performing a little bit at the Carnival Court.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: But uh Anthony Cools, who's been a long time resident performer at the Paris in the small showroom there, he was moving out the other day saying, you know, it just seemed he's trying to be positive, but he said, you know, I'm not gonna lie, I'm really sad.
- 7:11Dayna Roselli: I've been there a long time, and so that little room will close.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: So it's sad to see a lot of our local longtime performers, you know, be out of work once again.
- 7:20Sean McAllister: Yeah, I know, and it's such a such a blow to them because after this whole past year, when there have been no venues on the strip for them to perform, that's been a a huge blow.
- 7:34Sean McAllister: And now, as venues are able to reopen, the casino deciding, at least as far as Caesars Entertainment is concerned, not to reopen some of those smaller venues.
- 7:46Sean McAllister: So that is definitely an unfortunate development that we're seeing.
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: And I'm a little surprised because I thought those kinds of shows would be more popular than the big, you know, I think a variety.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: People will love to see, you know, the big shows.
- 7:58Dayna Roselli: Uh, but I want to say more popular, but you know, give people uh more to do while they're here in Vegas since everything's been shut down for so long.
- 8:05Dayna Roselli: To me, it's like you might want to pop to a really big show and you buy your tickets ahead of time and whatever, you're going to Celine at Resorts World, and then and then you're gonna go see, you know, an Anthony Cools or a Bronx Wanderers, Another Night, or you know, to have variety.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: So I'm a little surprised by that.
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: And it could also be maybe the small proximity.
- 8:23Dayna Roselli: Do we want to be spread out more?
- 8:25Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: Um, but they have a plan, they have Usher performing at the Coliseum, I know, at Caesars Palace, and they're they're putting a lot of weight on that show that's apparently sold really, really well.
- 8:35Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:35Sean McAllister: So that apparently is uh the the trend that that Caesars is following, just focusing on those big headlining artists, and you know, not putting the attention on the on the local performers who've really sustained those uh properties in those smaller venues for decades.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: Everyone wants to know where is Wayne Newton going?
- 8:58Dayna Roselli: We need to know.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: Wayne is our is our Vegas face.
- 9:01Sean McAllister: We need to shoot him a text.
- 9:02Sean McAllister: We do need to text Wayne and say, Wayne, where are you gonna end up, buddy?
- 9:05Dayna Roselli: Don't cache.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: Well, we are going to see uh magician Matt Franco on Monday.
- 9:12Dayna Roselli: So this podcast comes on out a Saturday.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: We're we're going on Monday, and he is still performing at the link.
- 9:18Dayna Roselli: The link, yep, which is a Caesars property.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: So um he's back on stage.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: Uh, we're excited to go check Matt out.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: And then we loved the way that we got our tickets.
- 9:27Dayna Roselli: We got a link text to us, and I was chatting with you about this.
- 9:30Dayna Roselli: I'm like, this is amazing.
- 9:32Dayna Roselli: Click the link, click the link.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: I was so excited to click the link.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: Uh, because what it is is it takes you to basically a digital ticket that you can also add to your Apple wallet.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: And I thought this is so convenient.
- 9:44Sean McAllister: I love that.
- 9:44Dayna Roselli: It's so easy.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: You just show your phone and then boom, you're in.
- 9:47Dayna Roselli: You don't have to go and try and retrieve it and all that.
- 9:50Dayna Roselli: But I did ask um Matt's publicist about this to get some more information, and she was telling me that ticketing is going to be as digital as possible moving forward.
- 10:00Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 10:01Dayna Roselli: Um, and that they're trying to push as much digital, you know, via text um with the live nation mobile app and all sorts of different things like this.
- 10:08Dayna Roselli: I think this was from Ticketmaster.
- 10:10Dayna Roselli: So um good to know because I hope that that's the way it will be, because that was simple.
- 10:15Dayna Roselli: I don't have to go to the box office and show my ID and get there early and wait in line and pick up a ticket.
- 10:21Sean McAllister: Well, and last week, you know, we talked about the Allegiance Stadium tour, and those tickets uh came digitally as well, and I got to add those to my Apple wallet.
- 10:31Sean McAllister: Um, and going through the checkout process, there was if you wanted the tickets delivered digitally, it was no fee, but if you wanted physical tickets, there was a fee attached to that.
- 10:45Sean McAllister: Oh like obviously you would have a free version.
- 10:48Sean McAllister: Well, yeah, unless you're like putting a scrapbook together of Vegas Adventure.
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: I have a whole bag of my tickets.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: Well, back in the day that's all we got was tickets, and we didn't have a choice.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: And uh yeah, shows how old I am a whole lot of things.
- 11:00Sean McAllister: I've got a drawer upstairs full of full of tickets and lanyards and all sorts of stuff.
- 11:06Dayna Roselli: Everything.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: All right, well, let's talk about more shows being added for Celine, Dion, and Carrie Underwood.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: Their tickets just literally went on sale, right?
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: Was it just the pre-sale?
- 11:16Sean McAllister: Well, yeah, I was gonna say this isn't even the the on sale to the public.
- 11:21Sean McAllister: This is only pre-sale tickets, and they just went on sale uh this past week, and within a day of the pre-sale being available, Celine Dion and Carrie Underwood have already added additional shows over at the new theater at Resorts World.
- 11:41Dayna Roselli: That is really incredible.
- 11:43Dayna Roselli: That means things are going really well.
- 11:45Dayna Roselli: I think people test the waters, like, well, let's see if these sell.
- 11:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: And then and then we'll add more.
- 11:49Dayna Roselli: And what a great sign that people are are buying tickets and wanting to see these shows.
- 11:54Dayna Roselli: And Resorts World's not even open yet.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: It doesn't even open until June 24th.
- 11:57Sean McAllister: So the tickets are actually pretty reasonably priced too when you compare them to the prices of you know big name headliners.
- 12:06Sean McAllister: I think the Carrie Underwood tickets started under$100 easily.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: They went up, obviously, as you know, as you get closer to the to the stage.
- 12:18Sean McAllister: But I thought one of the interesting things is Carrie Underwood is not doing a meet and greet before the show.
- 12:25Sean McAllister: So I was thinking, I was like, so what are these VIP packages going to entail?
- 12:30Sean McAllister: And the the package that's being offered uh for specifically for Carrie's show.
- 12:35Sean McAllister: I didn't look at Celine's show.
- 12:37Sean McAllister: Um but there's a$750 add-on for a VIP experience.
- 12:43Sean McAllister: Uh and that gets you into a pre-show wine tasting with the Resorts World Sommelier.
- 12:50Sean McAllister: You do this whole wine tasting, Carrie comes in and does a wine toast with a select few people who decide to, you know, do that$750 add-on per person.
- 13:03Sean McAllister: And then there's uh an assortment of really uh elevated hors d'oeuvres from the resort chef and really nice stock desserts, and that's before you go in.
- 13:15Sean McAllister: And I think the VIP section has uh complementary beer, uh, wine, and soft drinks.
- 13:23Sean McAllister: And then you can get some cocktail tickets.
- 13:25Sean McAllister: You get a couple tickets for cocktails if you decide to go that route.
- 13:29Sean McAllister: But I thought it was interesting to see how uh the show producers and the properties are evolving the VIP experience now that a meet and greet is kind of off the table, at least for the time being.
- 13:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean that makes sense.
- 13:42Dayna Roselli: It's safety first.
- 13:43Dayna Roselli: I mean, that's an interesting, you know, uh package for I guess you do.
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: I mean, with the amount of drinks you're getting with it, that can really add up.
- 13:50Dayna Roselli: I mean, you can drink all night, it sounds like when you leave, you'll be like, Jesus, take the wheel.
- 13:57Sean McAllister: Please, because I haven't getting behind it.
- 14:00Sean McAllister: Come on, Jesus, drive me home.
- 14:02Dayna Roselli: Like that I needed like that reference because you're a Carrie Underwood fan.
- 14:06Dayna Roselli: I've been stewing it all in my head the whole time you were talking.
- 14:09Sean McAllister: I saw a smirk on your face and I was wondering what was up.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: Well, my friends did just tour resorts world um and they went inside and the little hard hat tour, and I said, Well, what was it like inside?
- 14:20Dayna Roselli: And they gave me a little recap.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: They said that uh the red and brown exterior is not what the property looks like inside.
- 14:30Dayna Roselli: So don't think like, oh, that's gonna be the theme inside.
- 14:32Dayna Roselli: You're saying it's more of like this desert chic interior with marble, light woods, cream walls, bright and gold accents, and this is all throughout the casino and common areas.
- 14:45Dayna Roselli: And then they were saying that there's the three different hotels under the one roof, but each with their own address and hotel lobby check-in too.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: Oh, interesting.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so that's kind of cool too.
- 14:54Dayna Roselli: Um, I noticed the Hilton and I don't think the Hilton's on sale now.
- 15:00Sean McAllister: And the Conrad.
- 15:02Dayna Roselli: And then what's the other one?
- 15:03Dayna Roselli: Crockford's?
- 15:04Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 15:05Dayna Roselli: One of those other ones is on sale too.
- 15:06Dayna Roselli: But there was one of them that wasn't yet, so I'm not sure.
- 15:09Dayna Roselli: But for for check-in for June 25th.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: So anyway, they loved it.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: They thought it was a great setup, and they said it's really unique and very different from a lot of the resort properties already on the strip.
- 15:19Sean McAllister: Very cool.
- 15:19Sean McAllister: And again, Resorts World uh having its grand opening on June 24th.
- 15:24Sean McAllister: And just another little tidbit about another new property, Virgin Hotels, which has been open uh for a couple months now.
- 15:32Sean McAllister: Uh, I've heard through some sources that uh Sir Richard Branson, of course, the the head of the Virgin brand, uh, will be coming into town in June for four days for kind of a delayed opening.
- 15:47Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 15:48Sean McAllister: A big, you know, a big weekend.
- 15:50Sean McAllister: Big long weekend of celebrations, and he'll be in for that.
- 15:53Dayna Roselli: And they're gonna be opening the day club area that weekend.
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: They have an incredible day club pool that they're opening there called Elia.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: I interviewed two of the operators for a magazine article in deluxe version.
- 16:06Dayna Roselli: So check deluxe version for all the details.
- 16:09Dayna Roselli: But let me tell you, this is a really cool day club because it's a whole different kind of vibe than we have in other places on the strip.
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: This is more of like a mykonose, like a Tulum kind of vibe.
- 16:22Dayna Roselli: Ooh.
- 16:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it's got like all the raw materials and the, you know, the curtains hanging, the food is a little bit different, and beers from around the world.
- 16:30Dayna Roselli: And so read the article.
- 16:32Dayna Roselli: I don't want to give too much away.
- 16:33Dayna Roselli: I want you to be able to go to Deluxe Version and read all the details, but uh, they're gonna be opening on June 10th.
- 16:38Sean McAllister: So that'll be a good option for those of us who don't have the luxury of traveling around the world and taking part in all of these uh international party experiences.
- 16:49Sean McAllister: We'll get that vibe right here at Virgin Hotels when Elia opens.
- 16:53Sean McAllister: So that's exciting.
- 16:54Sean McAllister: Uh, one of the other things, a couple weeks ago in one of our polls, Dana, we asked about what kind of entertainment people wanted to see.
- 17:03Sean McAllister: And surprisingly, a lot of people said touring concerts were at the top of their list for Vegas Entertainment, and we have just gotten word that the Jonas brothers are kicking off their tour right here in Vegas.
- 17:19Dayna Roselli: I know, and this is great news because right before the pandemic, they were gonna open a residency show.
- 17:24Sean McAllister: Right, at Park Theater.
- 17:26Dayna Roselli: At Park Theater, and then they had to cancel and they thought, okay, let's just put this on hold.
- 17:30Dayna Roselli: But at least they'll be coming here to Park MGM on Friday, August 20th, and Saturday, August 21st.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: Tickets go on sale May 27th at 10 a.m.
- 17:39Dayna Roselli: But it's part of their remember this tour.
- 17:42Dayna Roselli: So uh we're happy that the Jonas brothers will be here for two nights in Las Vegas and and why not kick off the tour here.
- 17:48Sean McAllister: And also we want to mention that George Strait is coming back to T-Mobile Arena.
- 17:54Sean McAllister: He was one of the very first, he was actually the first entertainer to have a residency at T Mobile Arena.
- 18:02Sean McAllister: Uh his shows are going to be back on stage August 13th and 14th.
- 18:09Sean McAllister: Uh, special guest Caitlin Smith is going to be joining him.
- 18:13Sean McAllister: These are rescheduled shows that were supposed to happen in 2020.
- 18:17Sean McAllister: So George Strait coming back to honor those dates.
- 18:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I think in the details it said, okay, if you had tickets to this show, you're going to the like the 13th show.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: If you had tickets to this show, you're going to the 14th show.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: Uh call, work it all out, and then I guess whatever's left over, if there are any, people will be able to buy tickets to go.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: So, but he sells quick.
- 18:35Dayna Roselli: He sells.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: Incredible, George Strait.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, should we get to our poll?
- 18:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, I'm hungry.
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: Our poll is about buffets.
- 18:45Sean McAllister: We asked, and you have responded to our exclusive Vegas Revealed Weekly poll.
- 18:57Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 18:58Sean McAllister: So much buildup for our weekly exclusive poll.
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: Who doesn't love a poll about buffets, right?
- 19:03Dayna Roselli: Well, we've been talking a lot about buffets because several have announced openings.
- 19:07Dayna Roselli: Like we mentioned, Caesars is opening their buffet, and huge, the Bacchanal buffet.
- 19:12Dayna Roselli: And then Wicked Spoon is open at the Cosmopolitan, and MGM Grand just announced their buffet is opening as well.
- 19:19Dayna Roselli: And we seem to get a lot of response when we talk buffets on Twitter.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: So I thought, okay, let's do a poll and see who loves buffets, and maybe you don't.
- 19:29Sean McAllister: Well, it seems that just over half of people do like buffets.
- 19:34Sean McAllister: 53% said, Yeah, I do like to go to buffets.
- 19:38Sean McAllister: Uh 47% said, no, it's not really their vibe.
- 19:41Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 19:42Sean McAllister: Uh, but we did get uh several comments about this, Dana.
- 19:46Dayna Roselli: We did, and and I must say, this was over 200 votes this week.
- 19:50Dayna Roselli: So big time.
- 19:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: But yeah, Nixter says the buffet at MGM Grand was my favorite.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: They had the best fish.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: I hope it returns.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: Well, guess what, Nixter?
- 20:00Dayna Roselli: They just announced they're opening the buffet, so that's exciting.
- 20:03Sean McAllister: May 26th at 7 a.m.
- 20:05Dayna Roselli: There you go.
- 20:06Sean McAllister: Be the first in the door.
- 20:07Dayna Roselli: She's all set.
- 20:09Sean McAllister: Uh Brett says I personally enjoy the Rio buffet mainly because that's where I tend to stay.
- 20:16Sean McAllister: But I will say I was highly impressed with the buffet at Red Rock Casino during my last visit.
- 20:24Sean McAllister: Uh let's put a pin in Rio.
- 20:26Sean McAllister: Station casinos, they have redone their buffets as well.
- 20:30Sean McAllister: So I say good choice on Red Rock.
- 20:33Sean McAllister: Going back to Rio, that was at one point the world's largest buffet.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: The world's yes.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: I remember going at my friends' parents were in town and they're like, we want to go to the Rio buffet.
- 20:42Dayna Roselli: And I went.
- 20:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: And I couldn't, like, there was stuff in every corner, and they were all about the crab legs and all that kind of thing.
- 20:48Sean McAllister: And then we have a couple votes here from Ryan and Beyond Creative, a regular listener, saying the win, hands down, is so good.
- 20:58Sean McAllister: I agree.
- 20:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:59Dayna Roselli: And then uh Bari Vegas Lover voted for Aria.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: Okay, she likes that buffet.
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: And then Melly says, not at the strip, but local casinos.
- 21:07Dayna Roselli: Yes, I like those buffets.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: She said she likes the Orleans, Sam's Town, and the weekend champagne brunches at Main Street and Aliante.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: So some great tips from her.
- 21:17Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 21:17Sean McAllister: And Joseph tells us we usually do one in old Vegas to get that nostalgic feel, which is a great idea because you do go down to the casinos on Fremont Street, and they do have a totally different vibe than what you get on the strip.
- 21:33Sean McAllister: So good choice, Joseph.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he says hopefully looking tan.
- 21:36Dayna Roselli: He likes to go tan, you know.
- 21:38Dayna Roselli: I said, listen, we love a good tan too.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: I get it.
- 21:41Dayna Roselli: Um, the Mirage, someone voted for, and then somebody else, Randy, said, I'm not a buffet kind of guy.
- 21:47Dayna Roselli: I prefer meals individually prepared and served via weight staff.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: So that makes sense.
- 21:52Dayna Roselli: Some people do prefer that.
- 21:53Dayna Roselli: And then another vote for Aliante, and they said that that Aliante buffet is really clean, so it's definitely their favorite.
- 21:59Dayna Roselli: So Buffet favorites for certain reasons.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: So we love everyone chiming in, and thanks for chiming in on the weekly poll about the buffets.
- 22:09Sean McAllister: And we are uh moving right in to our uh tips of the week, and our tips come straight from the buffet at Caesar's palace, to Bacchanal Buffet, which has just reopened.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: Yes, and if you look at their website, they are the largest buffet in Las Vegas.
- 22:30Dayna Roselli: 90 minutes to dine, nine kitchens with infinite flavors.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: So Sean and I we went to Tabacanal Buffet as soon as it opened, and we were on location, and here are our tips.
- 22:45Sean McAllister: So right now we're here at Tabacanal Buffet at Caesar's Palace.
- 22:48Sean McAllister: It is just reopened.
- 22:50Sean McAllister: We're here for the grand opening service.
- 22:52Dayna Roselli: Oh, you can tell everyone is so excited it's open, right?
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: And you know what else is back?
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: The lines, right?
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: We saw we both, I was gonna say we pulled up, we walked up, and we were like, well, the lines are back.
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: People are ready to hit the buffet.
- 23:06Sean McAllister: There is definitely demand, and uh, judging from the comments and questions that we've uh received on social media, people really want to know what the buffet experience is like right now.
- 23:18Sean McAllister: And guess what?
- 23:19Sean McAllister: We can tell you.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: We can tell you, because we're here, we're sitting at our table, we just finished our meal, and we'll get into some of that in a bit, but we wanted to answer the questions that we got on Twitter because we let people know we were coming here, and a lot of them had to do with kind of the safety plan.
- 23:33Dayna Roselli: Like what how does it work?
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: And and people wanted to know if they were going to do it as in like you would sit down at your table, you know, and be served and ordered, because apparently the win, and is it uh the cosmopolitan, are doing you sit down, you order, they bring it to you.
- 23:49Dayna Roselli: Well, no, at the Bacchanau buffet, they are allowing you to go up and it's self-serve.
- 23:55Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's self-serve.
- 23:56Sean McAllister: They're uh they have taken good precautions though.
- 24:00Sean McAllister: I feel like the um I don't know, what do you call it?
- 24:04Sean McAllister: The sneeze guard, like the glass that covers things.
- 24:08Sean McAllister: I feel like that's definitely been lowered and like it's at face level and it's down pretty low at hand level too.
- 24:16Sean McAllister: So when you use the tongs to get your food, like all that you're doing is sticking your hand under there.
- 24:22Sean McAllister: So I feel like that's good.
- 24:23Sean McAllister: And there's hand sanitizer everywhere.
- 24:25Dayna Roselli: There is hand sanitizer.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: They also brought us little uh hand wipes for our table as well.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: And something else that they're doing is every time you go up, you have to get a new plate.
- 24:35Dayna Roselli: Uh they are taking away your plate, they're taking away your silverware, they're bringing you out a new drink, and so you know, the plateware and also glassware is changing at all times.
- 24:45Sean McAllister: And uh we did have one question here on uh Twitter from Puzzle Piece, Slot Machine, Joker Card, Pizza, Ice Cream Cone, Pretzel, Hot Dog, Donut Moon.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: He's gonna that's his his name is emojis.
- 25:02Dayna Roselli: His Twitter handle is all emojis.
- 25:04Sean McAllister: And he wants to know if there's a lobster.
- 25:06Sean McAllister: Yes, there are lobster claws.
- 25:08Sean McAllister: I had them and they are yummy.
- 25:10Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 25:11Sean McAllister: Oh, it's good humor life.
- 25:13Dayna Roselli: Good humor life is his name, yeah.
- 25:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, um, and then I had the the shrimp, I saw the crab legs up there, there's oysters, I mean, everything you can imagine on the seafood side, that's for sure.
- 25:23Dayna Roselli: Um, what are the hours they're open and closed?
- 25:25Dayna Roselli: They're open 4 p.m.
- 25:26Dayna Roselli: to 10 p.m.
- 25:27Dayna Roselli: and they are closed two days a week.
- 25:30Sean McAllister: Also, somebody asked if there's a two-hour limit at your table.
- 25:34Sean McAllister: It's actually a 90-minute uh limit that you are invited to dine here.
- 25:40Sean McAllister: So just keep that in mind and plan accordingly.
- 25:43Sean McAllister: If you need to, you know, scarf down your first couple plates to take full advantage of that 90 minutes, then make sure your belly's ready.
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, there's a lot of people who want to get in here, so they want to make sure that they're they keep it moving.
- 25:55Dayna Roselli: And there's so many choices.
- 25:56Dayna Roselli: So they've got the Asian cuisine, there was an Italian section, uh, they had salads, which you know I think most people just skip over.
- 26:05Dayna Roselli: They weren't like hardcore salads, but you know, salad-y type things.
- 26:08Sean McAllister: And they had my favorite, like the prime rib carving station, which was amazing.
- 26:13Sean McAllister: They had a a wagyu that was delicious.
- 26:17Sean McAllister: And the brisket was also really good.
- 26:19Sean McAllister: But I started my meal with sushi because I thought it was a little lighter.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: You whipped out the chopsticks, and I thought, really?
- 26:26Dayna Roselli: We're going sushi right now?
- 26:27Sean McAllister: We're going sushi.
- 26:28Sean McAllister: We I had to start light, and then I moved into the the wagyu and the brisket, and ended up with the seafood, and then hit the desserts.
- 26:37Dayna Roselli: The desserts were amazing.
- 26:38Sean McAllister: The desserts are delicious.
- 26:40Sean McAllister: The gelato, I recommend the espresso chip gelato.
- 26:44Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 26:45Sean McAllister: And so that brings us, Dana, to our tips if you're hitting the buffet.
- 26:49Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 26:49Dayna Roselli: So, my tip: ask people that work here what you should get.
- 26:54Dayna Roselli: And what I mean by that is there are a lot of people behind the glass working certain stations.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: And what I did was like, you tell me out of the four meats which I should have.
- 27:03Dayna Roselli: And he's like, Well, you could have a little of each, or this is one that people keep coming back for, this is a favorite right here, you gotta have it.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: I was like, Great, give me those two.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, ask for advice because you want to make sure you get the best stuff.
- 27:15Sean McAllister: And and that's who knows it best are the people preparing it.
- 27:18Sean McAllister: My advice is to wait for the table side service.
- 27:22Sean McAllister: And what I mean by that is there's little carts that come around during dinner service.
- 27:27Sean McAllister: We had lobster bisque from one cart, which was adorable.
- 27:31Sean McAllister: There was a little lobster-shaped cutout of squash that was in the little cup, and then it was topped with the bisque.
- 27:40Sean McAllister: And also they brought over these little uh Japanese Wagyu hot dogs that were delicious.
- 27:48Dayna Roselli: I know, and you were the only one at the table to get the hot dog because we all passed, but you were like, I'm gonna try this out.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: We there's a video floating around somewhere, you might see it at some point.
- 27:57Sean McAllister: And it was really good.
- 27:58Sean McAllister: I recommend the Japanese Wagyu hot dog.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 28:02Sean McAllister: But you have to get it from the cart.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: You have to get it from the cart.
- 28:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, very nice people here, and you can tell they're working hard to obviously clean things up as fast as they can.
- 28:11Dayna Roselli: Um, quick thing, we mentioned masks at the top of the show, and that seems to be a question.
- 28:16Dayna Roselli: If you are fully vaccinated, you do not need to wear a mask.
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: There are plenty of people without masks on in this uh buffet, and there are plenty with masks on.
- 28:24Dayna Roselli: So it's just depends if you're vaccinated, if you're comfortable, but you know, a little bit of both.
- 28:30Sean McAllister: Let's toss it back to us in the studio.
- 28:33Dayna Roselli: Let's do it.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was fun.
- 28:35Dayna Roselli: Great trip to the buffet at Caesars Palace.
- 28:38Sean McAllister: Uh, Dana, I just had to loosen my belt.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: Man.
- 28:42Sean McAllister: Stuff.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: Woo! I hope you guys enjoyed that as much as we did, because we really, really did.
- 28:47Dayna Roselli: And check out some of our pictures and videos on our social media sites because we know you love the visuals too, and we want to make sure that you're able to see some of the dishes that we have.
- 28:56Sean McAllister: And there really are infinite flavors in all of that.
- 29:01Dayna Roselli: Alright, well, now that we've gained four pounds, let's say goodbye and hit the treadmill.
