- Greg: Hey, what's up guys. Welcome to the latest episode of beliefs, ballots and bets. It's Tuesday, April 7th. We've got four plays on the docket for today. You know the deal. If you're following along and you like what we do, give us a like, share this on any platform you can subscribe, comment, follow, turn on auto alerts, all the things help me spread the word. If you like what we're doing here and, ⁓ let's see if we can, ⁓ we can make this show into something. Let's get started and talk about what we got for today. You know, then if we, if we take a moment and we, we lean into this theme from, from an angle that, this, this really hits home and this is where things get real uncomfortable. Personal accountability. It's, it's so easy to point outward and blame everything that happens in our life on circumstances that are beyond our control. It's a lot harder to look inward, but the truth of the matter is most people at the core. You know, if we take a look at this from a political standpoint, from a big picture view, you know, there's no need to dance around this. A lot of what we're seeing in this country isn't random. This is years and even decades of weak leaders, weak decisions, a lack of accountability, and a lot of times just people refusing to point out the honest truth and calling things what they are. ⁓ You know, for all the issues we have with our current leader and The theme today is one that I've been given a lot of thought to and it seems to just be piling up more and more all around us and it's that the small things are destroying us and for the most part we're all sticking our head in the sands and pretending like they're not. I mean let's be honest if you look at the problems we're dealing with right now these things aren't accidents they're not bad luck we can't just chalk this up to well this is just how things are. We're all probably familiar with the phrase, you know, politics is downstream from culture. These days, I'm not entirely sure how true that is. But, you know, you see the same issues that we were just discussing in the political room. You see them every day in our culture and in our social media. We've created this culture where everything is accepted and tolerated and absolutely nothing is challenged and As we get into the sports betting part of the show, and this is ⁓ an angle that we can obviously apply the same theme. Betting is another thing where discipline and the small habits really are the impetus for any sort of long-term success. Some of the most knowledgeable sports fans I know can't win at gambling because they just don't have the appropriate strategy to apply. They can't stay disciplined. They get caught up in the emotions and stuff like that. That's the plays for today. So in closing, here's, here's the real question for us all to ask ourselves. What are you allowing in your life that you already know isn't right? It's not the big things that are going to get you. It's the small things that you refuse to deal with. Song of Solomon chapter two, verse 15, catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards. Go catch your little foxes. If you like make any sort of an attempt to tell somebody they're wrong or possibly try to correct somebody, you're going to get blown up. People can't take it. It's like you are criticizing the core fiber of their being by just saying, hey, maybe you made a bad choice here. Maybe this isn't the right path. People are not looking for the truth. They just want comfort. You know, we celebrate things that we used to all know. Most people know what they should be doing and they just don't have the discipline or the dedication or the desire to do it. It's not confusion for most people. It's not a lack of information. It's just avoidance of doing what we're supposed to do. We don't need more information. We don't need more more stuff. We just need more discipline. I have I've been given a lot of thought to this lately. You know, what if what if we all just took the time to slow ourselves down? No, we have to be honest. have to take accountability. These things, everything that's happening in our world, it's a result of small decisions and things that people just pretending like they don't matter. The Bible verse today is, when it, had to go back. It's not, it's not when I was overly familiar with. It's not one I feel like it's used very often. It's from the book of the song of Solomon chapter two, verse 15. Catch the little foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyard. Again, you guys all know ⁓ I'm a Trump voter. I'm a Trump supporter. The man does things every day that I don't like. I don't condone and I wouldn't support and I wish he would behave in a more presidential and elegant manner. But at the end of the day, I'm paying attention to the choices he's makes and the functional way that he's trying to run this country. And at least for once, it seems like we're getting a little bit more transparency, a little bit more visibility of what's going on, a little bit more accountability for things and ⁓ People don't lose because they're unlucky. They simply lose because they can't stick to his plan. They make more plays than they should. They chase, they get emotional, they get hot, they get cold. ⁓ Most people don't need better picks. They just need better gambling habits. And that's one of the things that we've tried to focus on in this show is not getting carried away with things, not firing 14 plays a day or not going on a 5,000 unit play because we lost one yesterday. Get in your Bible, say your prayers, spend time with the Lord and spend time with the family you love. It'll make you healthier and whole. God bless. were wrong and we empower things and we encourage people to partake in behaviors that 15, 20 years ago, we knew weren't normal and weren't right. None of this changed at once. Like this is a culmination of years and decades of just continuing to let things slide. And at some point we've got to put a stop to it and we've got to start drawing a line in the sand and standing up for what's right, no matter how small it seems. It's not complicated. It's not always the big things that we notice that are destroying the things around us and destroying the people we love. It's the small things that we just keep tolerating, keep allowing. And at the end of the day, if we continue to do that, we're never going to get the success we want. We're never going to turn things around. We're never going to make the future that we deserve and that God calls us to live. Nobody wakes up one day and ruins their life. and just focus on doing what we know we're supposed to do. It would be virtually impossible for any of us to do what's right in every moment that we're called. But what if we tried, what if we just tried in every situation to remove all the factors around us of how somebody's made us feel, how we're, you know, maybe we don't feel well today, maybe we've had a headache, maybe we didn't sleep well, but take all the factors and just isolate the decision you're making, the action, the behavior, whatever it is in that moment. We're just running the numbers every day and we're simply trying to find spots where we feel like we have an advantage and, and in those spots we're firing. ⁓ we've got a couple of spots today. We got a nice full MLB slate. ⁓ we've been on a pretty darn good run. think we're 11 and three in our last 14 plays, ⁓ been on a pretty good stretch there took Easter off. Cause obviously Easter is far more important than anything we're doing here. ⁓ but we do have four plays on the docket for today. We've got some, ⁓ we've got some major league baseball totals. ⁓ I'd be lying if I said that spitting out four. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction and we can parlay this into a few more years of good Christian conservative leadership and get this country back on track. It's a culmination of choices. They built that life that they don't like. You don't fall apart suddenly. You fall apart slowly. And when you actually look around at what's going on world today, you see this pattern just about everywhere. and just say, what does the Bible call me to do? How should I handle this? What is the right way to do it? Now, how do I feel like handling it? Not what I want to say or anything like that. What should I say? What should I do? That's the approach that takes a lot of discipline and it takes being able to slow down in the moment and not let your emotions get control of you. And part of getting to that level is becoming more more aware of just how important the little things that we allow day to day are. over totals isn't exactly something I'm comfortable with, but the numbers are the numbers and we're going to play what the system tells us to play. Number one, we've got the Arizona Diamondbacks in the New York Mets. We're going over the total of seven and a half there. Actually seven there. ⁓ we've got the Baltimore Orioles and the Chicago White Sox. We're going over seven there as well. We've got the Milwaukee Brewers and the Boston Red Sox over seven as well. Are we picking up on a theme? And then we're going with the St. Louis Cardinals and the Washington Nationals over seven and a half, four plays, four overs, Mets and Diamondbacks over seven, Orioles, White Sox over seven, Brewers, Red Sox over seven, Cardinals, Nationals over seven and a half, ⁓ 11 and three run. It'd be nice to add a four and O day to that. But I'd take three and one and be pretty darn happy. So let's, ⁓ let's cross our fingers, say our prayers and hope that these plays hit. And that if we can make a commitment to changing some of these little things, ultimately those will lead to changing some big things.
