- 2:22Speaker 6: texts are welcome to I want to bring it to
- 2:24Speaker 6: the show now. State Senator Mike Stewart's Good morning, Sarah,
- 2:27Speaker 6: Welcome to the show.
- 2:28Speaker 7: Good morning, It's a great morning to be an American
- 2:31Speaker 7: and bo West Virginia.
- 2:33Speaker 6: I have to give credit where credit is due, sir,
- 2:35Speaker 6: you were one hundred percent correct. Hold on, hold on,
- 2:40Speaker 6: and there is zero doubt who the new President of
- 2:42Speaker 6: the United States will be. Meet the new boss same
- 2:45Speaker 6: as the old boss, with another boss in between. Talking
- 2:49Speaker 6: about Donald Trump. O course, a convincing victory over Vice
- 2:52Speaker 6: President Kamala Harris last week.
- 2:54Speaker 7: I think I was on your show calling for a landslide.
- 2:56Speaker 7: So we were weeks back and this is when the
- 2:59Speaker 7: polls were so near, so tight. Those polls were wrong,
- 3:02Speaker 7: and at some point we need to go back and
- 3:04Speaker 7: take a look at these polling organizations. They've become something
- 3:08Speaker 7: other than polling organizations. They've become organizations meant to make
- 3:12Speaker 7: the public believe something that's not true. I could see
- 3:16Speaker 7: it in the polling. I could see it when you
- 3:18Speaker 7: walk on the street. I could see it when I'm
- 3:19Speaker 7: at the grocery store. I could see it when I'm
- 3:22Speaker 7: getting gas in my vehicle. People wanted change. There's one
- 3:25Speaker 7: thing strength.
- 3:26Speaker 6: Well, let me jump in here though. What you see.
- 3:28Speaker 6: And I know you do travel because you got your
- 3:30Speaker 6: daughters or a travel a lot, but primarily your time
- 3:34Speaker 6: is spent in West Virginia because you're a state senator
- 3:36Speaker 6: and that's what you do. However, this message got out
- 3:40Speaker 6: well beyond I mean, it was a foregone conclusion that
- 3:43Speaker 6: West Virginia was going to be a landslide senator. We
- 3:45Speaker 6: all know that. However, it went to the swing states too,
- 3:48Speaker 6: and it went to the inner cities, It went to
- 3:50Speaker 6: people of color, it went to all of these different
- 3:53Speaker 6: factors that you that you're absolutely right about that. None
- 3:57Speaker 6: of the pollsters had that sort of thing happening.
- 4:00Speaker 7: Why, I think it was intentional on their part. And
- 4:02Speaker 7: I've said this and I hate even using the term
- 4:04Speaker 7: fake media.
- 4:05Speaker 6: Please not bye bye.
- 4:07Speaker 7: But it's different the national versus the local level in
- 4:10Speaker 7: terms of media. You guys do a great job here
- 4:12Speaker 7: West Virginia Metro News the best you'll find in the country.
- 4:15Speaker 7: There's no question, fair and balance for the most part.
- 4:19Speaker 7: But what we see on the national level, it's not so.
- 4:22Speaker 7: And they were trying to sell us a story. They listen,
- 4:25Speaker 7: Trump derangement syndrome is real amongst some of these people.
- 4:28Speaker 6: It is.
- 4:29Speaker 7: We saw the hidden Trump voter in twenty sixteen, we
- 4:32Speaker 7: saw it in twenty twenty and guess what, all of
- 4:34Speaker 7: a sudden this year they said, there's not gonna be
- 4:36Speaker 7: a hidden Trump voter. What are they talking about? I
- 4:39Speaker 7: said this on your show. You folks aren't gonna wear
- 4:42Speaker 7: a hat, a red hat. They're not gonna put a
- 4:44Speaker 7: sign in their yard. They're gonna quietly go to the polls.
- 4:47Speaker 7: They're gonna vote for Donald Trump because they want safety, security,
- 4:51Speaker 7: lower prices, and somebody who's in charge. That's exactly what happened.
- 4:57Speaker 6: Was this more in your opinion A Kamala Harris loss
- 5:03Speaker 6: or a Donald Trump win, because both could be correct,
- 5:07Speaker 6: or it could be one of the other. Which of
- 5:10Speaker 6: those ionic come on a game show? Which of those
- 5:11Speaker 6: is more correct?
- 5:12Speaker 7: Senator, Yeah, there's only one that's correct there, and that
- 5:15Speaker 7: is Donald Trump won this election. It was a landslide.
- 5:18Speaker 7: I want to point this out for everybody who has
- 5:20Speaker 7: trumped arrangement syndrome out there. He won the popular vote
- 5:24Speaker 7: by millions, millions of votes all across this country. He
- 5:28Speaker 7: brought in new seats in the United States Senate. We
- 5:31Speaker 7: have now control of the House of Representatives. Everybody told
- 5:35Speaker 7: us before the election we were going to lose the House.
- 5:37Speaker 7: This was a Trump victory. And let's be honest. Kamala Harris,
- 5:40Speaker 7: Kamala Harris perhaps one of the dumbest nominees in the
- 5:44Speaker 7: history of our country. People knew that they weren't going
- 5:47Speaker 7: to elevate somebody of her inability to complete just cogent
- 5:54Speaker 7: sentences as the next president of the United States. This
- 5:57Speaker 7: was a victory for Donald Trump across the board. And
- 6:01Speaker 7: I listen, for those folks who don't like him, give
- 6:03Speaker 7: him a shot, give him a chance. I think you're
- 6:06Speaker 7: going to see incredible policies. We saw great policies out
- 6:10Speaker 7: of the first administration. This time he knows more about
- 6:13Speaker 7: the process. He's naming great nominees to all of these offices,
- 6:17Speaker 7: these appointments that he has, Secretary of State, UN Ambassador,
- 6:21Speaker 7: the EPA Administrator. These are great individuals consistent with his
- 6:27Speaker 7: viewpoint of the world. And I think we're already seeing
- 6:29Speaker 7: big changes on the world front in terms of his impact.
- 6:33Speaker 7: I think we're going to see peace and stabilization in
- 6:36Speaker 7: the Middle East. I think we're going to see a
- 6:38Speaker 7: ramp down of the Ukrainian conflict sooner rather than later.
- 6:42Speaker 7: And I think we're going to see finally drilling, fracking, mining.
- 6:47Speaker 7: We're going to see it be a priority again and
- 6:49Speaker 7: it's going to directly affect utility prices and the price
- 6:53Speaker 7: you pay at the Pump's backing to.
- 6:55Speaker 6: Saint Senator Mike Stewart, tex says, Stuart wants to look
- 6:58Speaker 6: into what's meant to make the public believe something that's
- 7:01Speaker 6: not true. So Fox News and conservative talk talk.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Radio now listen. I think it's fun. You know what
- 7:07Speaker 7: I love watching right now. I love watching msd NC,
- 7:10Speaker 7: I love watching CNN. I love it I love it
- 7:13Speaker 7: why they're trying to do all this recapitulation, try to
- 7:17Speaker 7: figure out exactly what in the world did we do wrong.
- 7:20Speaker 7: You know what this is like when West Virginia beats
- 7:22Speaker 7: a great football team and it's always about the other
- 7:25Speaker 7: team messed up. Sometimes just sometimes our team does a
- 7:29Speaker 7: great job and wins. It's not a matter of the
- 7:32Speaker 7: other team losing. We won this race. President Trump did
- 7:36Speaker 7: an incredible job. People remembered his record from the first term,
- 7:41Speaker 7: and they're tired of weakness. They want a southern border
- 7:43Speaker 7: that's secure. They want safety and security. Crime is through
- 7:46Speaker 7: the through the roof, it's not. The FBI revised those
- 7:52Speaker 7: figures after that incredible ABC debate where they fact check
- 7:57Speaker 7: President Trump. The FBI released new showing that it was
- 8:01Speaker 7: skyrocketing across the country. And people aren't stupid. They don't
- 8:04Speaker 7: need to see numbers from the FBI to know that
- 8:07Speaker 7: crime is skyrocketing. They know these things. That's what we
- 8:11Speaker 7: saw happen that night was common sense took control.
- 8:15Speaker 6: Talking again to State Senator Mike Stewart, all right, so
- 8:18Speaker 6: if you were running Kamala Harris's campaign, I know that
- 8:21Speaker 6: you're saying that this was a Trump victory more than
- 8:24Speaker 6: a Kamala Harris lost. But let me just play, let
- 8:26Speaker 6: me just throw this out there. You were running Kamala
- 8:28Speaker 6: Harris's campaign. What would your after action be if you
- 8:31Speaker 6: set down and she comes into a room with Mike
- 8:34Speaker 6: Stewart and says, what went wrong? What would you say?
- 8:37Speaker 6: Not about Trump? Well, what would you say about Kamala Harris?
- 8:40Speaker 6: What went wrong? I know you said that she was stupid,
- 8:42Speaker 6: but other than that, what else would you? I mean?
- 8:45Speaker 7: Because it's not so sincerely like I listen, I was
- 8:48Speaker 7: born a Democrat. My extended family are Democrats, like a
- 8:51Speaker 7: lot of West Virginians. The party left us, It left us,
- 8:55Speaker 7: It forgot about working families. When their priorities are preaching
- 8:59Speaker 7: at a US about our view that boys shouldn't be
- 9:02Speaker 7: playing girls sports, boys shouldn't be in girls' restrooms. When
- 9:06Speaker 7: they're preaching to us that we ought to be satisfied
- 9:08Speaker 7: and happy about the prices we're paying at the grocery store.
- 9:11Speaker 7: When they're preaching to us about the way business operates
- 9:15Speaker 7: and that it ought to be all focused on the
- 9:17Speaker 7: Green New Deal, they've forgotten what they're supposed to be about.
- 9:21Speaker 7: I said this on your show, Joe Biden would have
- 9:23Speaker 7: been the best nominee. They should have stuck with them.
- 9:26Speaker 7: That would have been a much closer race. But what
- 9:29Speaker 7: happened to the Democrat Party, It's the same thing that's
- 9:32Speaker 7: happened here in West Virginia with respect to the Democrat Party.
- 9:35Speaker 7: They forget who they're fighting for. They no longer represent
- 9:39Speaker 7: working families and people who go to work every day
- 9:41Speaker 7: trying to put food on the table, a roof over
- 9:44Speaker 7: the house, and try to provide for their kids' education.
- 9:47Speaker 7: It's all become about these ultra left, crazy liberal ideas
- 9:53Speaker 7: that aren't consistent with the average American or average West Virginia.
- 9:57Speaker 7: And if I were them, I'd refocus on what's important
- 10:00Speaker 7: for working.
- 10:01Speaker 6: Family and Senator, there were a lot of people that
- 10:03Speaker 6: are Democrats that are saying the same thing that you are.
- 10:06Speaker 6: I'm a big fan of Bill Maher, and Bill Maher
- 10:08Speaker 6: has gotten booed by his own audience because he said
- 10:11Speaker 6: exactly and Bill is far I mean, well, by today's standards.
- 10:15Speaker 6: He's not that far left, but he's more of a
- 10:17Speaker 6: common sense guy. Bill Maher on his show last week
- 10:20Speaker 6: said the exact same thing that you were saying. I
- 10:21Speaker 6: gotta tell you, he said, look in the mirror. He said,
- 10:24Speaker 6: this loss is on you, Democrat Party, because of what
- 10:28Speaker 6: you've become.
- 10:29Speaker 7: Listen, the Republican Party has become the party of Sam's Club,
- 10:33Speaker 7: not the country club. The Democrat Party, I don't know
- 10:36Speaker 7: who they represent anymore. I challenge anybody to tell me
- 10:39Speaker 7: exactly what group, what majority of Americans do they represent.
- 10:43Speaker 7: It's all fringe, crazy, lunatic politics. They need to start
- 10:48Speaker 7: focusing on putting food on our table and putting people
- 10:51Speaker 7: back to work. This idea of the Green New Deal,
- 10:54Speaker 7: that's great, you can have all those lofty ideals you want. Frankly,
- 10:57Speaker 7: a lot of people on the left making a lot
- 10:59Speaker 7: of money from that malarkey. And I'll use that term malarkey.
- 11:02Speaker 7: It's a Joe Biden term. But listen, it's craziness. They
- 11:06Speaker 7: need to get back to common sense, common sense and
- 11:09Speaker 7: the Democrat parties. People in the Democrat Party have been
- 11:12Speaker 7: abandoned by a Democrat Party organization that doesn't really care
- 11:17Speaker 7: about them. That's what you saw in this campaign. I
- 11:19Speaker 7: don't care if you're black, if you're Asian, Africa, whatever
- 11:24Speaker 7: demographic you happen to be. In fact, women in suburbs
- 11:28Speaker 7: went for the Trump campaign. Why because they care about
- 11:31Speaker 7: issues like reproductive rights. But they also care about the
- 11:36Speaker 7: price of food on the on the grocery from the
- 11:38Speaker 7: grocery store. They care about gasoline in the car. They
- 11:41Speaker 7: care about safety for their kids. Mary, a mom in
- 11:45Speaker 7: the suburbs, doesn't want little Susie have to to play
- 11:48Speaker 7: soccer on the kids' soccer field against a boy who's transitioned.
- 11:54Speaker 7: This is just anti common sense. And so you're gonna
- 11:58Speaker 7: see I think you're gonna see a graded minis. I
- 12:00Speaker 7: think you're going to see a very popular President Trump.
- 12:04Speaker 7: And I'll point this out for folks who want to
- 12:06Speaker 7: deny it. He won a majority over fifty percent, well
- 12:10Speaker 7: over fifty percent of the American people who voted voted
- 12:13Speaker 7: for President Trump. That's a mandate, that's a landslide. That
- 12:16Speaker 7: means his agenda is going to be given a deference
- 12:20Speaker 7: when it comes to Congress, and it ought to be.
- 12:22Speaker 7: We want a secure border and all those other issues
- 12:25Speaker 7: he talked about are important.
- 12:26Speaker 6: So what does all this mean to Mike Stewart. I mean,
- 12:28Speaker 6: you're a former US attorney. You headed up to Trump
- 12:32Speaker 6: the Trump campaign in West Virginia at one time. Any
- 12:35Speaker 6: role for you in the new Trump administration, Mike, go break,
- 12:37Speaker 6: You're gonna break some news here.
- 12:38Speaker 7: I think it's too early to talk about those things.
- 12:41Speaker 7: But certainly I love President Trump, I love the agenda,
- 12:44Speaker 7: I love the vision for America, like American strength, and
- 12:48Speaker 7: so certainly I think there'll be an appropriate time to
- 12:50Speaker 7: talk about those things, just not today.
- 12:52Speaker 6: When you and I, you were wearing me out on
- 12:55Speaker 6: election night, texting me and say it. I told you,
- 12:57Speaker 6: I told you, I told you.
- 12:59Speaker 7: You think a lot to I saw it coming. You
- 13:02Speaker 7: haven't just thrown it out there. You could see it coming.
- 13:04Speaker 7: You do want every battleground state, and let's talk about
- 13:08Speaker 7: this in places like Chicago, New York City, New Jersey.
- 13:12Speaker 7: My goodness, he only lost New Jersey by a few
- 13:14Speaker 7: percentage points. He pulled New York within ten points. It
- 13:18Speaker 7: hadn't happened since nineteen eighty four. This was a national
- 13:22Speaker 7: statement of we're tired of a two tier justice system.
- 13:26Speaker 7: We won a secure southern border, and we're tired of
- 13:29Speaker 7: sleep walking and weakness in the White House. This is America.
- 13:33Speaker 7: We ought to be walking with a swagger. We love
- 13:36Speaker 7: cowboys and great Westerns and great heroes in our movies,
- 13:40Speaker 7: and we want to get it back. And there's no
- 13:43Speaker 7: reason why America's greatest days aren't ahead.
- 13:46Speaker 5: All right, we'll leave it there they Senator Mike Stewart
- 13:48Speaker 5: appreciate you being here.
- 13:49Speaker 7: Man, Thank you very much.

- 17:10Speaker 6: and to make America normal again. Tex says, Last time
- 17:14Speaker 6: I checked the Clinton politics made Sam's club. Tex says,
- 17:21Speaker 6: Mike Stewart gobbles the guy Donald Trump who rapes children
- 17:24Speaker 6: with his rich buddies such as Jeffrey Epstein GTFO. Mike
- 17:29Speaker 6: Texa's one thing Stewart and Trump have in common is
- 17:31Speaker 6: every word that comes out of their mouth is lies.
- 17:34Speaker 6: Tex says, Always remember Mike Stewart's a champion for adults
- 17:37Speaker 6: marrying children and only considered his views to let miners
- 17:40Speaker 6: marry each other. U Tex says. Dave just watched the
- 17:44Speaker 6: video of seeing In contributor Scott Jennings on election night
- 17:46Speaker 6: speaking to the panel of pouting progressive like David Axelrod Andrews,
- 17:50Speaker 6: the Cooper, Van Jones, etcetera, explaining to them exactly why
- 17:53Speaker 6: they lost. People are tired of being called racist, sexist, homophobes, Nazis, etc.
- 17:57Speaker 6: Yet they still refuse to acknowledge it admit that they
- 18:00Speaker 6: were the problem. Texts says, unbelievable. So I can commit
- 18:04Speaker 6: the same crimes as Trump and get off because we
- 18:07Speaker 6: don't have a two tiered system. A text her coming
- 18:11Speaker 6: up tomorrow's show, Della get Kaylee Young will be here.
- 18:13Speaker 6: She won re election to her house. We will talk
- 18:15Speaker 6: to her about that. Apply how about some biscuits and gravy?
- 18:17Speaker 6: I'm I'm making this up.
- 18:18Speaker 5: This Saturday Capital Market there is a biscuit and gravy competition,
- 18:21Speaker 5: and yours truly has been asked to serve as.
- 18:23Speaker 6: A judge for the competition. God bless American, God blessed
- 18:26Speaker 6: West Virginia. We'll get into that tomorrow as well. Rob
- 18:29Speaker 6: Candella get jb Acres is here. How are you man?
- 18:31Speaker 6: I'm good man.
- 18:32Speaker 13: Based upon those texts, I'm glad to see the country
- 18:34Speaker 13: is coming back together again after the election. But you
- 18:36Speaker 13: know one thing I think we should all agree on,
- 18:38Speaker 13: Dave is biscuits are delicious.
- 18:40Speaker 9: I had a.
- 18:40Speaker 13: Susie's biscuit yesterday down Cell Charleston and loved it. So
- 18:44Speaker 13: maybe that's one thing we can all say, we'll act.
- 18:46Speaker 6: Let me say this and go ahead and turn in
- 18:48Speaker 6: my West Virginia card. I've been a native of the
- 18:50Speaker 6: canav Valley now for ten years. Not a native, but
- 18:52Speaker 6: i've lived here for ten years. I've never had a
- 18:54Speaker 6: Susie's biscuit.
- 18:55Speaker 9: Listen.
- 18:55Speaker 13: I'm a Tutors fan too. I like them both, but
- 18:57Speaker 13: every once in a while, you gotta go Susie's. It's
- 18:59Speaker 13: a different type biscuit, and they are also they're great, man.
- 19:02Speaker 13: You gotta try one time.
- 19:03Speaker 6: I will. I think you should buy me one some time.
- 19:05Speaker 6: I will do that. I think sometime when you come
- 19:06Speaker 6: in on the show, you should bring me a biscuit.
- 19:08Speaker 6: Although I don't think we're allowed to eat in the
- 19:09Speaker 6: new fancy control room.
- 19:10Speaker 13: I'd say it's it's funny I've got some. When I did, well, yeah,
- 19:13Speaker 13: we can't eat here. But when I went up, I
- 19:14Speaker 13: was helping with flood relief up and like the Elk River.
- 19:18Speaker 9: Area several years ago.
- 19:19Speaker 13: I had that bad flood up there, and there was
- 19:21Speaker 13: a Tutor's Biscuit world up there that got destroyed and
- 19:23Speaker 13: a bunch of their stuff wun up in a garbage pile.
- 19:25Speaker 13: Including their menu boards out back. So I'm gonna go
- 19:27Speaker 13: ahead and admit this. I said it in Facebook once.
- 19:29Speaker 13: I have those Tutors biscuit boards at my house. I
- 19:31Speaker 13: kept them as memorabilia. So I mean they were in
- 19:33Speaker 13: the trash. Someone was going to take those to a dump,
- 19:36Speaker 13: but I kept those for myself and I cleaned them up,
- 19:37Speaker 13: and I'm like, this is a piece of West Virginia
- 19:39Speaker 13: history right here.
- 19:40Speaker 2: It is.
- 19:40Speaker 6: It is indeed, all right, So congratulations, thanks you one.
- 19:43Speaker 13: Yeah, I appreciate it, but I'm very grateful.
- 19:45Speaker 6: Let's talk about the campaign. I was unaware that it
- 19:50Speaker 6: had gotten a little bit nasty because I had you
- 19:53Speaker 6: on the show as a as a as a campaigner,
- 19:57Speaker 6: so to speak, talk about your campaign, and I was
- 20:00Speaker 6: unaware of some of the things that were being thrown
- 20:03Speaker 6: out there until you brought them up on the show.
- 20:05Speaker 6: Because quite frankly, the things you talked about I did
- 20:07Speaker 6: not see and old when you came in here did
- 20:10Speaker 6: I see more than I wanted to see. You brought
- 20:12Speaker 6: me some materials that you were accused of defending. But
- 20:16Speaker 6: it's over. It's over now. Any final words on the
- 20:18Speaker 6: campaign before we let it go.
- 20:19Speaker 13: Well, I want to again stress this. I've always focused
- 20:23Speaker 13: on being positive and talking about the future and being
- 20:25Speaker 13: optimistic and focusing on jobs and economies being my main
- 20:28Speaker 13: priority is just to make people's lives better and to
- 20:31Speaker 13: make sure that our kids and our grandkids can stand
- 20:33Speaker 13: this place and work and live here.
- 20:34Speaker 6: That's always been my focus.
- 20:36Speaker 13: And you know, I did not run a negative campaign.
- 20:40Speaker 13: I did do one negative ad at the very end,
- 20:42Speaker 13: the very last week, and it's the first time I've
- 20:44Speaker 13: ever done negative ad ever. But at some point you
- 20:46Speaker 13: have to respond. My opponent in the race. I think
- 20:48Speaker 13: at that point he done at least eight negative pieces
- 20:51Speaker 13: against me, and I just kept ignoring it, kept ignoring it,
- 20:53Speaker 13: and finally people are like, look, man, eventually this does
- 20:55Speaker 13: drag you down. You've eventually got to respond to this,
- 20:58Speaker 13: and it's unfortunate, but I think that they're right.
- 20:59Speaker 9: So I did do.
- 21:01Speaker 13: What I said in the thing about my opponent was factual,
- 21:04Speaker 13: but of course you know it's you don't say in
- 21:05Speaker 13: a flattering way. But I didn't want to be negative
- 21:09Speaker 13: at all. I never mentioned my opponent until the very
- 21:11Speaker 13: last week. And you know, or in response to some
- 21:14Speaker 13: questions you had for me, you asked me some questions
- 21:16Speaker 13: about things that she accused me of. But you know,
- 21:19Speaker 13: I try to be just positive as best I can,
- 21:21Speaker 13: and I'm positive about this place, and I'm positive about
- 21:24Speaker 13: the things I want to do here.
- 21:26Speaker 6: And you know, I grew up.
- 21:27Speaker 13: I grew up in West Virginia, and I've always been
- 21:30Speaker 13: long on West Virginia, and I think that we really
- 21:32Speaker 13: can have a bright future if you focus on the
- 21:34Speaker 13: right thing. So and for me, that's the economy and
- 21:37Speaker 13: jobs and just making sure we keep that and interest.
- 21:40Speaker 6: Right in front of us. So what was it about
- 21:42Speaker 6: your message and you kind of touched on it there, Delegate,
- 21:45Speaker 6: What was it about your message that you think resonated
- 21:47Speaker 6: with your voters more so than your opponents.
- 21:51Speaker 13: Well, I mean, I think our race was sort of
- 21:54Speaker 13: a microcosm of the national race. And I don't get
- 21:56Speaker 13: too caught up when I come here other places. Some
- 21:58Speaker 13: on national politics, I will, I've got strong opinions about
- 22:00Speaker 13: those issues, but I try to focus on what my job,
- 22:02Speaker 13: which is a local delegate. You know, I'm not running
- 22:05Speaker 13: for president. And my opponent really spent most of her
- 22:08Speaker 13: time telling people what a bad person I was, versus
- 22:11Speaker 13: talking about her own agenda or policies. I focus mostly
- 22:16Speaker 13: on again, jobs in the economy, and I just kept
- 22:19Speaker 13: saying that over and over again. And when you look
- 22:20Speaker 13: at the national picture, Dave, I think that's what happened
- 22:23Speaker 13: there too. I think people were mostly focused on jobs, economy,
- 22:25Speaker 13: and inflation, just their everyday economic issues. And that's what
- 22:30Speaker 13: I focus on as well, because I think that's what
- 22:32Speaker 13: people really want to hear about. They don't, you know,
- 22:35Speaker 13: I think again, especially locally. I mean, my wife and
- 22:38Speaker 13: I are deeply investing in this community. Our kids play
- 22:41Speaker 13: sports here, or have our kids are in school here.
- 22:44Speaker 13: We know a lot of people, and I think as
- 22:46Speaker 13: best we can, especially locally, we just need to try
- 22:48Speaker 13: to maintain a positive image of ourselves and our community
- 22:53Speaker 13: and focus on what people really want us talk about,
- 22:55Speaker 13: which again in the economic issues. And you know, I
- 22:58Speaker 13: like to believe and I hope this is true that
- 23:02Speaker 13: and I won my race by considerable margin. I don't
- 23:03Speaker 13: still have to pat myself in the back, but you
- 23:05Speaker 13: do look at those numbers, like, you know, what do
- 23:07Speaker 13: people think about me? What they think about my message?
- 23:09Speaker 13: You got to self reflect and say did I get
- 23:10Speaker 13: things right or wrong? And I won by about twenty
- 23:14Speaker 13: percent or a little over that in the district's neext
- 23:17Speaker 13: to mine both when Democrat. So I don't take that
- 23:19Speaker 13: for granted. I mean people in Canal kind of will
- 23:20Speaker 13: still vote Democrats, they'll cross over. And I think you
- 23:23Speaker 13: have a guest tomorrow who got crossover votes and a
- 23:26Speaker 13: county commissioner when who got crossover votes. The fact that
- 23:30Speaker 13: I won my race by the margin I did, I
- 23:33Speaker 13: think is at least some affirmation that I was talking
- 23:35Speaker 13: about what people wanted to hear and they agree with
- 23:37Speaker 13: that message. And I think also the positivity. I think
- 23:40Speaker 13: people would prefer that. I think they'd rather us just saying, hey,
- 23:43Speaker 13: this other person might have ideas I disagree with. That
- 23:46Speaker 13: doesn't mean they're a bad human being. This is just
- 23:48Speaker 13: why I think this is the way we should go,
- 23:50Speaker 13: and we can reasonably debate this. And that's what I
- 23:52Speaker 13: always try to do. I don't go out there and
- 23:54Speaker 13: say one side's terrible and one side's good. I mean
- 23:57Speaker 13: we you know, Democrats and Republicans both have good ideas,
- 24:00Speaker 13: you know, on issues, and we just have to reach
- 24:02Speaker 13: a compromise. And I've always said too, and I think
- 24:04Speaker 13: I said this last time I was here to the
- 24:06Speaker 13: extent that I disagree strongly with things on the Democrat side.
- 24:11Speaker 13: I'm a Republican. It's really more democratic leadership. It's not
- 24:14Speaker 13: the average Democrat voter. I think there are a lot
- 24:17Speaker 13: of Democrat voters in this They're Democratic voters who feel
- 24:19Speaker 13: like they've been left behind and they probably feel like
- 24:21Speaker 13: they don't have good representation right now. And I think
- 24:25Speaker 13: a lot of those are working class people. And you know,
- 24:28Speaker 13: regardless of what your party is, we all should be
- 24:30Speaker 13: trying to help those folks or rather independent, whatever your
- 24:33Speaker 13: affiliation may be, everybody deserves help.
- 24:36Speaker 6: Talking with the delicate jbacres to Dave Island showing five
- 24:39Speaker 6: Itty Live brought to you imparted by a Bridge Valley.
- 24:40Speaker 6: If you're interested to prove in your company's IT workforce,
- 24:43Speaker 6: know that they offer custom tailored IT training to Bridge
- 24:46Speaker 6: of skills gaps. You can train for a little or
- 24:47Speaker 6: no cost fifty to fifty salary match. They also supply
- 24:49Speaker 6: a skilled graduates and apprenticeships for your company. There's a
- 24:52Speaker 6: Bridge Valley dot eedu slash apprenticeships today. All right, So
- 24:55Speaker 6: where does WHEREJBA coers go from here? I mean, what
- 24:58Speaker 6: are you working? I know we got interims that have
- 25:00Speaker 6: been going on in the last couple of days. So
- 25:02Speaker 6: what's on what's on your radar?
- 25:04Speaker 13: Well, I mean, of course we're we have intern meetings
- 25:06Speaker 13: right now, so I'm focusing on those. But I've also
- 25:08Speaker 13: got a full time job. Is my law practice.
- 25:10Speaker 9: There is that.
- 25:11Speaker 13: Yeah, I've got to pay a little attention to that.
- 25:12Speaker 13: I've got a family here. I've got a wife, Mary Claire.
- 25:14Speaker 6: She's great.
- 25:15Speaker 13: She's a judge Drinkanaal County. So I've got to be
- 25:17Speaker 13: supportive of her. And we have kids, one in college,
- 25:19Speaker 13: a couple of high school. I always, you know, prioritize
- 25:22Speaker 13: that first, which I think everybody should do, regardless of
- 25:24Speaker 13: your job. And in terms of legislative stuff, Dave, you can't.
- 25:29Speaker 13: You can't focus on every single issue. There's too many
- 25:32Speaker 13: out there. I mean, I think you know, foster care
- 25:34Speaker 13: is a thing that's extremely important. But you've got a
- 25:36Speaker 13: delegate up in the north central part of the state,
- 25:37Speaker 13: Adam Burghamer, for example, who he's a great guy. That's
- 25:41Speaker 13: a that's a really important issue to him. He is
- 25:42Speaker 13: a foster parent. Uh, he's an expert on that. I
- 25:45Speaker 13: don't claim to be, although I obviously care about that issue.
- 25:49Speaker 13: So there's there's a lot of stuff out there we
- 25:51Speaker 13: need to fix and things we need to improve. But
- 25:54Speaker 13: I'm always, always, always going to put economic issues first
- 25:58Speaker 13: and foremost because I think that's what help to solve
- 26:00Speaker 13: so many of other challenges. Not that other things aren't iportant.
- 26:04Speaker 13: There's so many things that are important, But for me,
- 26:06Speaker 13: I'm always going to focus on this district in terms
- 26:08Speaker 13: of the job creation. So if you're asking where I'm
- 26:10Speaker 13: going from here, I'm hyper focused on creating jobs.
- 26:13Speaker 6: Before We'll let you go a couple of things, and
- 26:16Speaker 6: we touched on this a little bit at the beginning
- 26:18Speaker 6: of the discussion. Delegate West Virginia is obviously a strongly
- 26:22Speaker 6: read state. Now that may be the understatement of the year.
- 26:24Speaker 6: I mean, Republicans picked up seats of a legislature, all
- 26:26Speaker 6: the board of Public Works are Republicans. Republicans are congressional
- 26:30Speaker 6: representatives are Republicans. Are two US Senators are Republicans? That,
- 26:34Speaker 6: of course President Trump returns to the White House. It's
- 26:38Speaker 6: a pretty good time to be a Republican right now.
- 26:41Speaker 13: It is, But we also have to make sure we
- 26:43Speaker 13: do what people want. They trusted us with their vote
- 26:45Speaker 13: and you know, the first couple of days after the election,
- 26:47Speaker 13: on the people saw me or not, but I was
- 26:49Speaker 13: out waiving a big thank you sign, and I meant
- 26:51Speaker 13: that I'm grateful for votes, and I want to say, hey,
- 26:53Speaker 13: I'm not just here before the election asking for your vote.
- 26:56Speaker 6: I appreciate it.
- 26:56Speaker 13: After the election, I've got thank you as we run
- 26:58Speaker 13: on your station right now, where I'm thanking people for
- 27:00Speaker 13: trusting me with their vote. So, yeah, we did well
- 27:02Speaker 13: this election, Dave, overall. But we also have to make
- 27:05Speaker 13: sure we focus on what the voters want and not
- 27:07Speaker 13: what we as individual representatives may want. And that's that
- 27:10Speaker 13: term is important. We are representative of the people who
- 27:12Speaker 13: vote for us. We have to represent their interest and
- 27:15Speaker 13: that requires, as much as anything else, us making sure
- 27:18Speaker 13: we go out in the community and talk to people
- 27:20Speaker 13: face to face and say, Hey, what's important to you?
- 27:22Speaker 13: What can I do to make your life better? Not
- 27:25Speaker 13: Hey I'm in the House or the Senate and I've
- 27:28Speaker 13: got all the answers.
- 27:29Speaker 6: That's just not the way it works. So I want
- 27:32Speaker 6: to give you the opportunity. I know you're running ads,
- 27:34Speaker 6: as you said, with us, and you've been waving signs,
- 27:36Speaker 6: but I want to give you the opportunity to thank
- 27:38Speaker 6: whomever you would like to thank at this time.
- 27:41Speaker 13: Well, buddy, I mean first and foremost, I always, and
- 27:43Speaker 13: this is not cliche. I mean I'm very thankful to
- 27:46Speaker 13: God just the opportunity he gave. He's given me my life.
- 27:48Speaker 13: I have just got such a great life with the
- 27:51Speaker 13: family I have. My wife, Mary Claire is an amazing person.
- 27:54Speaker 13: My family's amazing too. But I sincerely mean this to
- 27:57Speaker 13: people listening. If you voted for me, thank you for
- 28:00Speaker 13: trusting me. If you if you didn't vote for me,
- 28:03Speaker 13: I'm still going to do whatever I can to help you,
- 28:05Speaker 13: and I mean that sincerely. So I just want to
- 28:08Speaker 13: thank the people of the district for their trust to me.
- 28:11Speaker 13: And you know, if you see me again, regardless of
- 28:13Speaker 13: whether you voted for me or not, I hope people
- 28:15Speaker 13: will walk up to me and just say, hey, jb
- 28:17Speaker 13: these are issues that are important to me. And I
- 28:18Speaker 13: always feel like you can talk to.
- 28:19Speaker 6: Me and approach me.
- 28:20Speaker 13: I'm an approachable guy and I'm always going to listen
- 28:22Speaker 13: to you, and I'm thankful for that opportunity.
- 28:25Speaker 5: Deli jb Acres, Congratulations. I appreciate you being here, man.

- 32:08Speaker 6: that I never had to deal with the tragedies that
- 32:11Speaker 6: they always saw around the Haines Branch area. I lived
- 32:13Speaker 6: just past Southridge and April, the rushing floodwaters took out
- 32:16Speaker 6: the supports under our driveway bridge. We had no idea

- 33:11Speaker 6: Justice and Trump do tax fraud, contract break and not
- 33:13Speaker 6: paying my employees. Let's do this, Texas Day. We were
- 33:17Speaker 6: surprised at the eleventh hour news release of the two
- 33:19Speaker 6: hundred and fifty million dollars school safety funds needed. That
- 33:22Speaker 6: wasn't announcement after the election results. The new governor and
- 33:25Speaker 6: legislature now definitely going to have to go in and
- 33:27Speaker 6: do some financial belt tightening right out of the gate,
- 33:30Speaker 6: says a Texter. John Robertson is here from the Colosseum,
- 33:34Speaker 6: Convinced Center and the arch and Crafts.
- 33:36Speaker 9: Right, I'm retired.
- 33:37Speaker 6: You're retired. You're retired. How's retirement tree any, buddy?
- 33:40Speaker 9: Oh it's okay, just okay. Can't find enough to do
- 33:44Speaker 9: every day?
- 33:45Speaker 6: Okay, all right, well, but you got something to do
- 33:47Speaker 6: with this with this arch and Crafts event, right, Sure,
- 33:50Speaker 6: it did the Capital City arch and Craft Show.
- 33:52Speaker 9: This is our fifty fifth year, so it's been around
- 33:55Speaker 9: a long time, and you've not been here for all
- 33:57Speaker 9: of them. Almost all. I've been remember the club for
- 34:01Speaker 9: nearly line of the year, Lins Lions Club for almost
- 34:03Speaker 9: fifty years.
- 34:05Speaker 6: So it's all. It's this weekend. It is Friday two
- 34:07Speaker 6: until seven, Saturday ten to six, and Sunday from noon
- 34:11Speaker 6: till five. I understand, and I understand you brought us
- 34:14Speaker 6: in some tickets. I didn't arrange with the folks upstairs
- 34:16Speaker 6: to do the ticket giveaway now, but we will give
- 34:18Speaker 6: them give away later on in the week, So plenty
- 34:21Speaker 6: of opportunities for people to come out. What are they
- 34:22Speaker 6: going to see when they come out, John.
- 34:23Speaker 9: They're gonna see They're gonna see lots and lots of things.
- 34:27Speaker 9: This year about twenty five percent of the exhibitors are new,
- 34:30Speaker 9: so every year when you come, you aren't going to
- 34:33Speaker 9: see the same old stuff. We have pottery, we have metalwork,
- 34:38Speaker 9: fine art, painting, photography would work. It's lots of West
- 34:45Speaker 9: Virginia food items. So it's just a great place to
- 34:48Speaker 9: come and walk around and be entertained, even if you
- 34:50Speaker 9: don't buy anything, and.
- 34:51Speaker 6: There's something, as they say to use the advertising Schaye John,
- 34:54Speaker 6: there's something for everyone.
- 34:55Speaker 9: And it's a great place to come and do holiday
- 34:57Speaker 9: shopping because it's not like going into the big box
- 35:00Speaker 9: store and there's twenty five sweaters that all look the
- 35:02Speaker 9: same shelf. You know, if you have that certain person
- 35:05Speaker 9: and you get to the age where you want something
- 35:08Speaker 9: that's different and unique, and it's a great place to
- 35:10Speaker 9: come and find those items.
- 35:11Speaker 6: But some of the more unique things You've been a
- 35:14Speaker 6: part of this for a long time, but what are
- 35:15Speaker 6: some of the more unique things you've seen there? Over
- 35:17Speaker 6: the years that come something that caught John's eye.
- 35:20Speaker 9: Well, he's not with us this year, but one of
- 35:22Speaker 9: the most unique things I've seen in a long time
- 35:25Speaker 9: he was with us the last two years was a
- 35:27Speaker 9: fell out of Grafton who did wood turning on wooden
- 35:33Speaker 9: with a wooden casing and he turned them on a
- 35:35Speaker 9: lathe and he went to every county in West Virginia
- 35:39Speaker 9: into facilities that had been shut down or were noteworthy,
- 35:45Speaker 9: and he collected wood and he had those things labeled
- 35:48Speaker 9: and they were engraved with the location that they came from,
- 35:53Speaker 9: and that was very unique. I bought several of those myself.
- 35:56Speaker 6: And it is that time of year, as you kind
- 35:57Speaker 6: of reference, people are starting to think about the high
- 36:00Speaker 6: season and and different gifts for people, and this is,
- 36:03Speaker 6: as you said, this is an opportunity for people to
- 36:05Speaker 6: come out and get something that's different.
- 36:07Speaker 9: And we're a week earlier this year. That okay, okay,
- 36:10Speaker 9: we have in the past, we have always been on
- 36:12Speaker 9: the weekend before Thanksgiving. However, this year the Colosseum was
- 36:19Speaker 9: booking Wringling Brothers on a two week run there and
- 36:23Speaker 9: we just felt that the parking would be a nightmare
- 36:27Speaker 9: for our patrons. So we worked it out with the
- 36:31Speaker 9: coliseum and convention Center and we moved one week earlier
- 36:35Speaker 9: this year. I think it's going to work out better
- 36:37Speaker 9: for it.
- 36:37Speaker 6: I was going to say, I think it's probably a
- 36:39Speaker 6: good idea that you did, because if you've been listening
- 36:41Speaker 6: and been following the news with everything going on with
- 36:43Speaker 6: playoffs and so on, and is this involves indoor sports
- 36:45Speaker 6: as well, not just football. Right, So great that you
- 36:49Speaker 6: got your name on the on on the calendar there, John.
- 36:52Speaker 9: Well, we of course nobody knew that at the time,
- 36:55Speaker 9: right well. But also with this show, one hundred percent
- 36:58Speaker 9: of the net profits day from a Lions Club project
- 37:02Speaker 9: goes to charity. There's no administrative cost on anything that
- 37:06Speaker 9: Alliance Club is doing in terms of raising money to
- 37:09Speaker 9: help charities, and over the years we have donated more
- 37:13Speaker 9: than one point six million dollars representing proceeds from this
- 37:17Speaker 9: show to various charities, primarily in the community.
- 37:20Speaker 6: Let's talk a little bit about the Lions Club and
- 37:22Speaker 6: talk about this organization. I mean, lots of communities have
- 37:24Speaker 6: Lions clubs, but I would have to say the Charleston
- 37:26Speaker 6: group is probably one of the top ones in the state.
- 37:28Speaker 6: I mean, based on the numbers and the things that
- 37:30Speaker 6: you've been able to do for charitable causes, as you said, John,
- 37:32Speaker 6: over the years.
- 37:33Speaker 9: Well, you know, our club started in nineteen fifty four
- 37:38Speaker 9: in Kanawa City, and while while it's primarily residents of
- 37:43Speaker 9: Kanaw City, that belongs not strictly that, and anybody can
- 37:46Speaker 9: join the Lions Club anywhere. Our primary philanthropic activities internationally
- 37:54Speaker 9: is hearing and site conservation. And so we also have
- 37:59Speaker 9: a Lion Foundation in West Virginia which addresses significant vision
- 38:07Speaker 9: problems for people that are beyond their own capability of
- 38:11Speaker 9: a single club to take care of. And we have
- 38:13Speaker 9: a foundation helps step in and address those issues for
- 38:17Speaker 9: folks that are in need.
- 38:18Speaker 6: It is a wonderful organization. I mean, whether it's here
- 38:21Speaker 6: in this area or across the country. I mean, Lance
- 38:23Speaker 6: cub is a fantastic organization and you do so many
- 38:26Speaker 6: things I think sometimes that people don't even realize. All right,
- 38:30Speaker 6: let's kind of recap it again. Capital City Arch and
- 38:32Speaker 6: Craft Show. It is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday two
- 38:35Speaker 6: till seven on Friday, ten am till six pm on Saturday,
- 38:38Speaker 6: Noodle five on Sunday. So something for just about every schedule.
- 38:41Speaker 6: You can go in after school and work on Friday,
- 38:43Speaker 6: spend the day on Saturday, after church on Sunday, whatever
- 38:46Speaker 6: you want to do.
- 38:46Speaker 9: And I would like to mention too that we are
- 38:49Speaker 9: having a collection of nonperishable food products for Mountain Missions
- 38:54Speaker 9: Food Bank, and so if you come in and ring
- 38:57Speaker 9: a donation of food products, you'll be given a discn admission.
- 39:02Speaker 6: Okay, very good, John Robertson, I appreciate you being here,
- 39:05Speaker 6: and this is a fantastic thing for the for the
- 39:08Speaker 6: for the Capital City area and the surrounding areas. Because
- 39:11Speaker 6: I know people that travel from hours away just to
- 39:13Speaker 6: come to this big event. You got plenty of opportunities
- 39:15Speaker 6: again Tootle seven on Friday, Saturday tendal six and Sunday
- 39:19Speaker 6: noon to five. And I love the fact that all
- 39:21Speaker 6: the proceeds from this go right back into helping those
- 39:24Speaker 6: in need, not just doing this holiday season, but year round. John,
- 39:27Speaker 6: I appreciate you being here man.
- 39:28Speaker 9: And i'd like to yeah, salute you because I listen
- 39:30Speaker 9: to your program most every day since I'm retired. But
- 39:35Speaker 9: you do so much and this station does so much
- 39:38Speaker 9: to help nonprofit advertise their activities and so forth. And
- 39:42Speaker 9: that really is very helpful.
- 39:44Speaker 6: It's what we do. It's what we do. I mean,
- 39:45Speaker 6: we take that whole thing, that motto that says we're
- 39:48Speaker 6: proud to live here too, on all of our stations.
- 39:50Speaker 6: And it's not just this station. We do it every
- 39:51Speaker 6: going to build. A matter of fact, they'll give me
- 39:53Speaker 6: a good operation. That's a good segue. John. You wait,
- 39:55Speaker 6: maybe when I go on vacation, you can host the show.
- 39:57Speaker 6: How's that? I do? Want to mention this and you
- 40:00Speaker 6: can hang out here why I do this? Next Thursday,
- 40:03Speaker 6: we are going to be doing our annual turkey drop here.
- 40:06Speaker 6: We're from seven am till six pm. We're going to
- 40:08Speaker 6: set up out of the parking lot. Not just Cochs,
- 40:11Speaker 6: but all of the stations in the building will set
- 40:12Speaker 6: up out on the parking lot seven am to six pm.
- 40:15Speaker 6: We are collecting frozen turkeys for those that we're working
- 40:19Speaker 6: with Mountain Mission on this, and so people can drive through,
- 40:22Speaker 6: they can go to their local, their favorite grocery store,
- 40:25Speaker 6: pick up a couple of turkeys, pick up one turkey.
- 40:27Speaker 6: If they just want to come in and say well
- 40:28Speaker 6: I can't afford it, here's five dollars to put toward
- 40:31Speaker 6: the cost, we'll take that as well. So it's another
- 40:33Speaker 6: and I was going to talk about that, but you
- 40:35Speaker 6: set it up perfectly for me to talk about that.
- 40:37Speaker 6: And I'll be talking about a whole lot more all
- 40:39Speaker 6: the stations over the next couple days. But our turkey
- 40:40Speaker 6: drop is next Thursday from seven am to our parking
- 40:44Speaker 6: lot at eleven eleven. John, I appreciate you being here,

- 44:20Speaker 6: new Elvis documentary premiering tomorrow night on Netflix's Return of
- 44:23Speaker 6: the King. The Fall and Rise of Elvis features rarely
- 44:26Speaker 6: vulnerable side of the legendary singer and explorers the story
- 44:29Speaker 6: behind his now iconic sixty eight comeback special, which aired
- 44:32Speaker 6: on NBC widely credited, would breathe a new life into

- 44:37Speaker 6: It's directed by Jason Here, who previously filmed the acclaimed

- 45:26Speaker 2: Uh?
- 45:26Speaker 6: Huh oh yeah that was me, wasn't it. Yeah? So
- 45:30Speaker 6: uhs a matter of fact, A says congratulations, A tech
- 45:33Speaker 6: a listener just duped you to reading an ad for Elvis. Anyway, Now,
- 45:37Speaker 6: I had scheduled I talked to Speedy Bevans, my former boss,

- 45:42Speaker 6: radio network during high school basketball tournament time, and Speedy
- 45:45Speaker 6: had brought up he called me this morning to give
- 45:47Speaker 6: hit to waiting on this scheduled to have him on
- 45:49Speaker 6: the show. But he's busy running the conglomerate that is
- 45:51Speaker 6: Bevan's insurance and Hurricane right now. So Speedy was not
- 45:54Speaker 6: able to call in, but I did get his thoughts,
- 45:56Speaker 6: all right. So what has changed in the last twenty
- 45:58Speaker 6: four hours, Sir Frederick? A lot?
- 46:01Speaker 5: Yet nothing, you know, I mean, they've had some more
- 46:03Speaker 5: injunctions filed they're talking play in games or whatever that's about.
- 46:11Speaker 6: Uh, that's not gonna happen.
- 46:13Speaker 5: It's not okay, not gonna happen. There's the way I
- 46:19Speaker 5: have been told, and I have spoken to the folks
- 46:23Speaker 5: at the SSAC this morning, that they don't have the
- 46:29Speaker 5: judges that say are saying you into a playoff game.
- 46:32Speaker 5: They don't have control over the scheduling of games from
- 46:35Speaker 5: the SSAC. They can't decidle this and oh you're gonna
- 46:38Speaker 5: have a playoff game. They don't have that authority. So
- 46:41Speaker 5: there's not gonna be any playoff games. Okay, there's not.
- 46:44Speaker 5: That's what I was told this morning. And again this week.
- 46:48Speaker 5: You're talking yeah for Friday and night, well whatever, They're
- 46:50Speaker 5: not gonna any playoff games this week, next week, Sunday afternoon.
- 46:55Speaker 6: There's not.
- 46:56Speaker 5: That's what I was told.
- 46:57Speaker 6: At all, Play in games. Play in game. Well you
- 47:00Speaker 6: said playoff, Well I'm at playing games. Come on, why
- 47:02Speaker 6: you read it? That's why you read your stuff?
- 47:04Speaker 5: Ahead right, exactly, play in game. They're not going to
- 47:08Speaker 5: be all right, go ahead, They're not going to happen.
- 47:10Speaker 5: Here's the deal. And when I was talking with the
- 47:14Speaker 5: SSAC this morning, I was told that when all of
- 47:18Speaker 5: the injunctions are said and done, when they've been ruled on,
- 47:22Speaker 5: the writ that will go to the state Supreme Court
- 47:25Speaker 5: and will be dealt on by the Supreme Court. Ruled
- 47:29Speaker 5: on by the Supreme Court, then they will know they
- 47:31Speaker 5: being the SSAC, will know which set of ratings to
- 47:35Speaker 5: go with. Is it the ones that they've been playing
- 47:38Speaker 5: under all year, which I think that's what will happen,
- 47:41Speaker 5: or is the ones that were put into effect late
- 47:44Speaker 5: Saturday afternoon that were in effect before the reclassification back
- 47:49Speaker 5: in August. August twenty sixth, I think was the statement
- 47:53Speaker 5: it all came down. So that's the only deal I think.
- 47:56Speaker 5: Now here's the problem. The Supreme Court. They can get
- 48:00Speaker 5: an emergency session, which they will, but they wait next week.
- 48:04Speaker 5: Well they're hoping, they're hoping. They told me this morning
- 48:07Speaker 5: that they can get it within forty eight hours. But
- 48:10Speaker 5: even if they get it within forty eight hours, that's
- 48:12Speaker 5: really pushing it to play this weekend only because if
- 48:16Speaker 5: you use the ratings that were in effect all year long,
- 48:22Speaker 5: that changes a lot of things that came down Sunday.
- 48:26Speaker 5: Change is seedings, It changes teams that are in that
- 48:29Speaker 5: are not in now that would be in West Side,
- 48:32Speaker 5: for example, would be in Point Pleasant, would be in
- 48:35Speaker 5: those kind of things. The team four teams that were
- 48:38Speaker 5: left out or were kicked out was Point Pleasant, Hampshire
- 48:41Speaker 5: and Tulsa and West Sun. So those teams will be
- 48:46Speaker 5: back in. So you've got to reset all of that.
- 48:49Speaker 5: You've got to give those teams time to get the
- 48:52Speaker 5: travel arrangements. And Wane, for example, in the new set
- 48:56Speaker 5: of ratings that came out Sunday or late Saturday night
- 49:00Speaker 5: in the playoffs as a number eight seed. In the
- 49:04Speaker 5: other set of ratings, they're a ten seed. So instead
- 49:06Speaker 5: of hosting, they go on the road. Well, you can't
- 49:09Speaker 5: tell them twenty minutes in front of you gotta go
- 49:11Speaker 5: on the road tonight.
- 49:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:12Speaker 5: So, I honestly, my own personal opinion, I don't think
- 49:16Speaker 5: they play it all this week. I really don't. I
- 49:18Speaker 5: was hoping against hope they would. I just don't think
- 49:20Speaker 5: there's enough time. I just think the injunctions came down
- 49:23Speaker 5: too late.
- 49:24Speaker 6: Here's the point that Speedy brought to me this morning.
- 49:27Speaker 6: He said, in his opinion he's been doing this a
- 49:29Speaker 6: long time, is that once you start getting the courts
- 49:33Speaker 6: involved in sports decisions, that. Where does it stop. A
- 49:40Speaker 6: team is eliminated from the playoffs on the last play
- 49:44Speaker 6: of the game. They got to win a game to
- 49:45Speaker 6: get in questionable call pass interference call. You know, in
- 49:50Speaker 6: the NFL they'd say up on further review, or in
- 49:52Speaker 6: the college they would review it or whatever. But where
- 49:54Speaker 6: does a coach from Persing or high school suddenly come
- 49:58Speaker 6: in and say, well, that should have been called. I
- 50:01Speaker 6: am going to file an injunction against the result of
- 50:04Speaker 6: that game. Once you maybe that's a stretch, but once
- 50:08Speaker 6: you start getting the courts involved in things like this,
- 50:13Speaker 6: I mean, it's not out of the realm of possibility. Fred,
- 50:15Speaker 6: where does it stop?
- 50:17Speaker 5: State Supreme Court? Okay, that's where it stops. That's where
- 50:20Speaker 5: this will stop. This will stop at State Supreme Court.
- 50:24Speaker 5: It's happened five other times before, five other times before
- 50:29Speaker 5: the State Supreme Court is told intermediate court judges stand down.
- 50:33Speaker 5: You don't have control over a private entity, which the
- 50:37Speaker 5: SSAC is. You do not have to as a member
- 50:41Speaker 5: school of the SSAC. That's a volunteer. Are you telling
- 50:44Speaker 5: you and not talked about that yesterday? Yeah, it's voluntary.
- 50:46Speaker 5: You don't have to belong Parkersburg High school doesn't even
- 50:48Speaker 5: have to be a member of the SSE and they
- 50:50Speaker 5: still play if they choose not to, they can still
- 50:52Speaker 5: play a complete schedule. They can't compete for the championships
- 50:56Speaker 5: in the plascoes. That's that belongs to the SSAC. You can't.
- 51:00Speaker 5: So that's the difference here, and it will go to
- 51:02Speaker 5: the Supreme Court, and Supreme Court will say SSAC, you decide,
- 51:07Speaker 5: it's your tournament. How's it going to go? And the
- 51:11Speaker 5: intermediate court rulings we have to stand down.
- 51:13Speaker 6: But Dave violence showing five any live bright to you apart.

- 51:30Speaker 6: No one can file or nor can one file a
- 51:33Speaker 6: lawsuit anytime. It is. The message that sends to our
- 51:35Speaker 6: student athletes is disappointing and dangerous. That's so true, that
- 51:39Speaker 6: is so true, and I feel for the athletes. As
- 51:43Speaker 6: I told you yesterday, I think athletes just want to play. Yeah,
- 51:45Speaker 6: they don't care when, they don't care who, they don't
- 51:47Speaker 6: care where they want to play. And we're saying you
- 51:50Speaker 6: can't play yet because we adults know better. Well, Fred,
- 51:52Speaker 6: go ahead and pencil it in that you're gonna be
- 51:54Speaker 6: on the show tomorrow talk about something else. I'm also
