- 1:04Speaker 3: Happy NFL kickoff day, by the way.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I'll just start off the bat. I hate how they
- 1:09Speaker 2: do this. Two games instead of one to start off
- 1:12Speaker 2: the season. I hate it.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Just do a normal Thursday off the slate like that
- 1:17Speaker 3: and then go to Sunday NFL.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I hate it.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Wednesday, Thursday, I don't like that. But anyway, tonight is
- 1:24Speaker 3: Sam Darnold and the Seahawks, which everyone knows the story
- 1:28Speaker 3: behind him. I don't even need to explain that. Anyway,
- 1:30Speaker 3: Sam Darnold and the Seahawks versus Drake being the Patriots.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I don't know about you guys, but I don't need
- 1:36Speaker 3: to rewatch that Super Bowl. That game sucked. I'm not
- 1:39Speaker 3: really that jacked up for this game. Tomorrow's game, I'd
- 1:42Speaker 3: rather that be the kickoff of the season. That should
- 1:46Speaker 3: be a great game. By the way, that Rams defensive line,
- 1:50Speaker 3: I hate to say it. I think, you know what,
- 1:54Speaker 3: I'll say right here, my Super Bowl pick, if I'm
- 1:57Speaker 3: being unbiased, Is the Rams. Because I don't think anyone's
- 2:00Speaker 3: going to be able to stop that defensive line. Especially
- 2:03Speaker 3: with Aaron Darlan coming back. That guy could freaking block
- 2:06Speaker 3: a semi-truck.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Alright.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Let's dive into the main stories of the week here.
- 2:11Speaker 2: First off. Michigan. Michigan. Western Michigan.
- 2:16Speaker 3: What a bunch of bull crap that game was.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So yesterday. Western Michigan came out. And they.
- 2:23Speaker 3: They decided they were going to appeal the game. Well
- 2:25Speaker 3: then of course. The NCAA comes. Because the NCAA is
- 2:27Speaker 3: not a real thing. They. They just don't. They're not
- 2:31Speaker 3: around anymore. They come out and say, well, we can't
- 2:35Speaker 3: overturn this game. Bull crap, you can't overturn it.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Have a backbone.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Go overturn this game. That was the most obvious screw
- 2:46Speaker 3: job in all of history of college football. The Texas-Nebraska game,
- 2:52Speaker 3: no matter what Husker fans say, you can at least
- 2:55Speaker 3: see that there was a second left in that clock.
- 2:58Speaker 3: This one, the refs say that there was some secret
- 3:03Speaker 3: clock that they have that showed there was one second left.
- 3:07Speaker 2: What a bunch of bullcrap this.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Anyway, it's going to just end up with Michigan going
- 3:12Speaker 3: out and just getting throttled by Oklahoma. I don't think
- 3:14Speaker 3: Bryce Edmonds is going to be the quarterback anymore after
- 3:16Speaker 3: that game. That guy, they paid him $ 10 million to
- 3:21Speaker 3: do absolutely nothing. Like he hasn't, I don't even know
- 3:25Speaker 3: how many games they won last year, seven, eight, but he's,
- 3:27Speaker 3: he's had maybe two or three good games out of
- 3:29Speaker 3: who knows how many he's had as a starter.
- 3:33Speaker 2: So Michigan screw you. You know what?
- 3:36Speaker 3: They've been covered in controversy the last couple of years.
- 3:39Speaker 3: What a good football team that is right there. The
- 3:41Speaker 3: coach last year, everyone knows that story. He went off
- 3:43Speaker 3: the deep end. He's, he's just a whack job. Then
- 3:45Speaker 3: before that, the other coach decided he was going to cheat,
- 3:50Speaker 3: which yeah, we, we won't dive into that.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Quarterback was anyway.
- 3:56Speaker 3: This is a huge week of games right here. We've got, okay,
- 4:04Speaker 3: I'm going to say it. The game of the week
- 4:05Speaker 3: is Ohio State-Texas, which I don't want to admit it,
- 4:09Speaker 3: but that is. I hope Ohio State just throttles Texas.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Then we got OU-Michigan. That might not even be, it
- 4:18Speaker 3: was supposed to be second best game of the week.
- 4:20Speaker 3: That might not even be close. I'm excited for Texas
- 4:23Speaker 3: A & M, Arizona State. I'm still not big on
- 4:25Speaker 3: A & M. I don't believe in Marcel Reed at all.
- 4:29Speaker 3: A lot of people think that he's really good. We'll
- 4:31Speaker 3: see where that goes. Iowa State, Iowa. We all hope
- 4:36Speaker 3: Iowa State just kicks the crap out of them. I
- 4:39Speaker 3: don't think that's going to happen. Iowa State has a
- 4:41Speaker 3: whole new team. God, there was no... BYU, Arizona is
- 4:47Speaker 3: another good one. Minnesota, Mississippi State. is the underrated game.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Everyone should go watch that. That is going to be
- 4:54Speaker 3: one heck of a game right there. Oh, there's another
- 5:02Speaker 3: game I was going to talk about.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Alabama, Kentucky. That actually could be a great game.
- 5:07Speaker 3: I don't know if you guys saw this, but Minchie,
- 5:09Speaker 3: the quarterback that was supposed to be at Nebraska, last
- 5:12Speaker 3: week threw for 400. I think it was 400 or
- 5:15Speaker 3: something like that. Four touchdowns, no picks. I know they're
- 5:17Speaker 3: playing nobody. But maybe that guy... I didn't think that
- 5:20Speaker 3: guy was that good. Maybe this guy's the real deal.
- 5:22Speaker 3: We'll find out this week. Alabama at Kentucky.
- 5:26Speaker 2: You know what? I'm going to run the record. Kentucky
- 5:27Speaker 2: wins that game.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Minchie throws for three touchdowns, one pick, 350 yards.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I'm not sold on Alabama at all. Apparently their quarterback
- 5:37Speaker 2: looked good. Let's see it. I didn't watch a second
- 5:39Speaker 2: of Alabama or Kentucky. So there you go. Week two.
- 5:44Speaker 2: So I.
- 5:47Speaker 3: I've always said week one is like preseason game. Week
- 5:49Speaker 3: two is when I think you really find out how
- 5:51Speaker 3: good teams are. Like, like last year, Texas played Ohio
- 5:56Speaker 3: state week one, horrible idea. Archman came out. Everyone want
- 6:01Speaker 3: to watch that game? Like that spotlight of the week.
- 6:03Speaker 3: He looked horrific, which I still think he sucks. But anyway, you,
- 6:08Speaker 3: you want to play you. I feel like you don't
- 6:10Speaker 3: play your big games week two. Cause you have that
- 6:12Speaker 3: first week to figure out what your team is and,
- 6:17Speaker 3: and all this and where your parts go now week
- 6:18Speaker 3: two is where you actually start to set up how
- 6:21Speaker 3: you want your team to look for the season like
- 6:23Speaker 3: like nebraska finds out jamal rule is going to be
- 6:27Speaker 3: this stud it's supposed to be well we'll see where
- 6:30Speaker 3: this goes but if you start to figure out what
- 6:35Speaker 3: where you want your team to go here is week
- 6:38Speaker 3: two and then And then the nice thing I think
- 6:42Speaker 3: now about college football is if you do drop these
- 6:44Speaker 3: big games, because there's a lot of teams scheduling these
- 6:47Speaker 3: big games now, if you drop these big games, you
- 6:49Speaker 3: can lose these and you can rebound from there. I
- 6:55Speaker 3: think this is where this week is we're going to
- 6:57Speaker 3: figure out who the real good teams are. If Ohio
- 7:00Speaker 3: State or Texas come out and just throw the other,
- 7:03Speaker 3: I'm going to come out and say it, that team
- 7:05Speaker 3: can win the title. If it's a 21-point, one of
- 7:07Speaker 3: those teams, two teams wins, They're going to win the title,
- 7:11Speaker 3: and I hope it's not Texas.
- 7:15Speaker 2: So, there's another thing I want to talk about here.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Sunday, the basketball decided, actually, I don't know if it
- 7:21Speaker 3: was the basketball, well, they had to agree to it,
- 7:23Speaker 3: decided they were going to play a game at Wrigley
- 7:25Speaker 3: Field at night, which I didn't even.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Think about this going into it.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I was like, oh, this is going to be a
- 7:30Speaker 3: great game to watch. Well, I don't know if you'd
- 7:33Speaker 3: call it a game to watch because it was just
- 7:34Speaker 3: a slip and slide. You might as well play that game,
- 7:37Speaker 3: just throw some fucking, whoops, freaking, sorry. A bucket of
- 7:41Speaker 3: water on a freaking tarp and just let these players play.
- 7:44Speaker 3: They're slipping and sliding all over the place. Whoever decided
- 7:49Speaker 3: this is a great idea, it's on a lake. Or
- 7:52Speaker 3: it's basically right next to a lake.
- 7:55Speaker 2: It's middle of summer. It's going to be humid. Why
- 7:58Speaker 2: would you not?
- 8:00Speaker 3: Who thought this was going to be a good idea
- 8:01Speaker 3: at night? The first game, people weren't sliding all over
- 8:03Speaker 3: the place yet. But once that sun went down, it
- 8:05Speaker 3: got just slicker than crap. And they start sliding over
- 8:08Speaker 3: the place. Terrible idea by everybody there, Big Ten, whoever
- 8:11Speaker 3: decided to do this. I mean, it was cool to
- 8:13Speaker 3: watch atmosphere-wise. I guess if you want to watch a
- 8:17Speaker 3: dance battle, there you go. But go on TikTok if
- 8:19Speaker 3: you want to watch dances. But anyway, yeah, that horrible
- 8:25Speaker 3: idea by everybody involved. Now, Danny Bussman came out and
- 8:30Speaker 3: said that we should never play outside again. I like
- 8:34Speaker 3: the game. Pick a better spot than that. and just
- 8:36Speaker 3: play outside because it looks cool, I thought, besides the
- 8:40Speaker 3: slip and slide.
- 8:41Speaker 2: That's just a bunch of bull crap right there.
- 8:43Speaker 1: All right.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Speaking of that, I think they open up their first
- 8:50Speaker 3: home game sometime this.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Week, maybe.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 8:53Speaker 3: I'm not a huge volleyball fan. I will tune in
- 8:55Speaker 3: if there's like, oh, we're playing at Wrigley Field tonight. Okay,
- 8:57Speaker 3: let's watch that. But other than that, I don't really
- 9:00Speaker 3: pay attention to much volleyball because especially– Especially on NFL Sundays,
- 9:06Speaker 3: I'm not going to watch an American football game over
- 9:09Speaker 3: a Vikings game or any NFL game. I've got kicked
- 9:12Speaker 3: off TV a couple times because Husker fans have been like, oh,
- 9:15Speaker 3: we got to watch a volleyball game instead of an
- 9:17Speaker 3: NFL game. No, screw that. I'm going to watch NFL.
- 9:23Speaker 3: So let's do my three best bets of the week here.
- 9:28Speaker 3: First one, Oklahoma minus five and a half, which it
- 9:32Speaker 3: might have went up by now.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Nope, still five and a half. I think that is
- 9:36Speaker 2: the bet of the year right there. I'm not kidding.
- 9:37Speaker 3: They're going to throttle Michigan. I don't think that was
- 9:40Speaker 3: a fluke at all. I think Michigan absolutely sucks. Bryce Underwood,
- 9:44Speaker 3: see ya.
- 9:45Speaker 2: You're gone.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Whoever their backup is, have your helmet ready. You're going
- 9:48Speaker 3: to be playing my second half.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Next one.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I'm just rolling these off the rip here. I'm just
- 9:57Speaker 2: sliding down because I kind of forgot. I did this
- 10:00Speaker 2: for the week. Okay. Minnesota minus one and a half.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Mississippi State. They both looked good week one. Mississippi State
- 10:08Speaker 3: has this quarterback that I actually think is the real deal.
- 10:11Speaker 3: I believe Minnesota's Drake Lindsey is a great quarterback, too.
- 10:16Speaker 3: It's at Minnesota. That's the only reason why I'm taking them.
- 10:18Speaker 3: I think they're both about equal teams here.
- 10:20Speaker 2: But Take that.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Do not lock that in as your lock of the
- 10:23Speaker 3: week at all. But take Minnesota minus 1.5. By the way,
- 10:27Speaker 3: I think I might have went 3-0 last week. Not
- 10:31Speaker 3: for sure about that. I had Ball State plus 50.
- 10:34Speaker 3: You know what?
- 10:36Speaker 2: Let's look. Anyway. Oh. Ohio State plus 1.5. Yes. Texas.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Ever since.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Let's just dive in this game. Ever since Steve Sharkeesian
- 10:48Speaker 3: got there. This guy sucks in big games. No one
- 10:51Speaker 3: notices this. He has won one playoff game against Arizona State.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Should have lost that game, by the way. What a
- 10:58Speaker 3: bunch of bull crap.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Got so lucky.
- 11:00Speaker 3: No one talks about that. He does not win these
- 11:02Speaker 3: big games at all. They are going to lose it.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Archman is going to crap his pants.
- 11:05Speaker 2: He sucks. He's going to throw. Let's just say it.
- 11:08Speaker 3: He's going to throw three. If there's a bet, I'm
- 11:11Speaker 3: sure it's one and a half, one or a half pick.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Take that over. Take his picks over. He's going to
- 11:16Speaker 2: throw it.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Two-plus picks this game, and Ohio State's going to win
- 11:20Speaker 3: by 10-plus.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I think Ohio State's a way better team.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I think Spotlight gets too big for Texas, and I
- 11:28Speaker 3: think Steve Sarkeesian gets on the.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Hot seat after this game. People are going to be like, dude,
- 11:32Speaker 2: get out of here.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Hot take, Steve Sarkeesian is not going to be the
- 11:36Speaker 3: coach of Texas by the end of the year, or
- 11:39Speaker 3: after the season. He'll make it the whole season. He's gone,
- 11:42Speaker 3: and everyone's going to be like, Arch Manning, This guy sucks.
- 11:46Speaker 3: But some dumb NFL team, probably the Vikings, will take him.
- 11:49Speaker 3: And then he's not going to get in the pros. So, everyone,
- 11:54Speaker 3: happy NFL kickoff. This is like the first day of
- 11:58Speaker 3: school right here.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Football is back. Completely.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Again, like I said, not a great game tonight. I
- 12:06Speaker 3: don't need to rewatch the Super Bowl.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I'm going to. But, yeah. Okay. Hopefully.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I like Sam Darman. Hopefully you suck this season. I
- 12:16Speaker 3: don't need to rewatch you winning a Super Bowl again.
- 12:18Speaker 3: But anyway, happy NFL Sunday, or Wednesday. And everyone have
- 12:25Speaker 3: a good wacky-dacky Wednesday.
- 12:27Speaker 2: See ya.
- 12:31Speaker 1: The headlines change, but the mission stays. From Memorial Stadium
- 12:35Speaker 1: to PBA days. Football Saturdays, basketball nights.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Every story chasing.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Red and white.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Recruiting buzz, big time commits. Camp battles, coaching hits. Transfer
- 12:47Speaker 1: moves and rising stars. The road to glory's never far.
- 12:53Speaker 1: This is Return to Glory, where every headline tells a story.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Big red pride every season. Husker Nation's got it.
- 13:01Speaker 2: See you next episode.
