- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on sevent WR.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Well, everybody probably a home today. It's a remote day
- 0:11Speaker 2: for most people that work. If you're a student in
- 0:13Speaker 2: New York City, it's remote. They use that what do
- 0:16Speaker 2: they call that Google classroom. The mayor says it should work.
- 0:21Speaker 2: It's not a good thing. It just closed the schools
- 0:23Speaker 2: for the day. But as he explained, they can't close
- 0:27Speaker 2: for the day. Is this that we're going to exhaust
- 0:29Speaker 2: every option to protect? No, No, that's not it. Where
- 0:32Speaker 2: there's a some kind of state law.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I remember it as a New York City public school,
- 0:35Speaker 1: students sitting there watching TV. Open to see my school's name.
- 0:41Speaker 1: The sad truth is governed by state law which requires
- 0:44Speaker 1: one hundred and eighty days instruction. And there's no room
- 0:48Speaker 1: anymore in these calendars with all of your holidays have
- 0:50Speaker 1: been had in the.
- 0:51Speaker 3: First snow day.
- 0:52Speaker 1: So Monday is either going to be remote.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's the reason there's a state law. You
- 0:56Speaker 2: can thank the legislature requiring one hundred and eighty days,
- 0:59Speaker 2: so they can't close. They have to have a remote day.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Which it's interesting at private schools, I don't think are
- 1:07Speaker 2: subject that many of them are just closed no remote
- 1:09Speaker 2: day today, so we slowly start to dig out. Actually,
- 1:13Speaker 2: you got to give mom Donnie credit. It was pretty
- 1:15Speaker 2: good the response. But again he's got left over from
- 1:20Speaker 2: the Adams administration. The emergency management people, the people that
- 1:24Speaker 2: do all this response are left over. The emergency response director,
- 1:29Speaker 2: emergency management head is leaving in a week, but his
- 1:33Speaker 2: deputy will take over, and he says, don't worry. His
- 1:36Speaker 2: deputy is perfectly qualified and be very good at this.
- 1:39Speaker 2: So we'll see. This'll probably be the last big snowstorm.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I don't want to jinx it, but we usually get
- 1:43Speaker 2: one of these a year, and you know, this one's
- 1:45Speaker 2: actually not as bad as five years ago. We had
- 1:47Speaker 2: a big one. It was like in this was ten inches.
- 1:51Speaker 2: And see we had a big one was like seventeen
- 1:53Speaker 2: inches in the city. But it was during the towards
- 1:57Speaker 2: the end of the pandemic. Most people were still remote anyway.
- 2:01Speaker 2: So Washington got hit hard with the snowstorm. But they
- 2:06Speaker 2: went ahead with the premiere of the Milania film. There's
- 2:10Speaker 2: a big, big documentary on Milania Amazon. It'll be in
- 2:15Speaker 2: theaters and then it'll stream on Amazon. They had the
- 2:18Speaker 2: big movie premiere. Normally in that kind of snowstorm. The
- 2:21Speaker 2: President would get the hell out of there and be
- 2:23Speaker 2: at mar A Lago for the weekend, but he stayed
- 2:25Speaker 2: because of the premiere and it was Saturday night, big
- 2:28Speaker 2: dinner at the White House at Kennedy Center, the whole thing,
- 2:30Speaker 2: and a lot of people came. Everybody loved it. It's
- 2:34Speaker 2: a great film. But it starts in theaters now. Most
- 2:39Speaker 2: people will wait, probably go see when it's streaming, so
- 2:42Speaker 2: that's opening very soon. Wall Street Journal really brutal on
- 2:47Speaker 2: Donald Trump. The Wall Street Journal has not been on
- 2:51Speaker 2: Trump friendly paper for a while. The Wall Street Journal
- 2:55Speaker 2: not good to the president, but really bad, hitting him
- 2:58Speaker 2: very hard over the weekend for the shooting in Minnesota,
- 3:03Speaker 2: and a lot of people say, you can argue that
- 3:08Speaker 2: the shooting was justified. It's the case of Rene Good.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Definitely justified. Again, if he talked to the best law
- 3:15Speaker 2: enforcement people in the world, they'll say, you know, probably
- 3:18Speaker 2: shouldn't have shot. He's legally justified, and he can, but
- 3:21Speaker 2: he probably should have let that go. If you want,
- 3:24Speaker 2: you catch her stopper car a block away or something.
- 3:27Speaker 2: But this one yesterday's a real borderline, and we can't
- 3:30Speaker 2: see exactly why they fired he did have something in
- 3:35Speaker 2: his hand. It turns out it was the cell phone.
- 3:36Speaker 2: But he was armed. And if you're going to confront police,
- 3:41Speaker 2: I don't know why you'd bring a weapon with you.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And I don't know why you'd bring extra magazines. You know,
- 3:46Speaker 2: I know people would carry guns, but extra magazines. I mean,
- 3:50Speaker 2: cops have to do that because god knows what they'll
- 3:52Speaker 2: end up in a gunfight or something. But a citizen
- 3:57Speaker 2: also at that point, he's harassing the Ice agents, and
- 4:00Speaker 2: then as they're trying to detain him, he's resisting. So
- 4:02Speaker 2: he's resisting arrest. He's committing a crime. And even though
- 4:05Speaker 2: you're legally licensed to carry a gun, you can't carry
- 4:09Speaker 2: a gun when you're committing a crime. That's a whole
- 4:10Speaker 2: different set of charges. So this will be investigated. Now,
- 4:15Speaker 2: the Wall Street Journal going after him, James Comer coming
- 4:18Speaker 2: out and going after this. So some people saying he
- 4:22Speaker 2: is losing the narrative on this. You can argue the
- 4:24Speaker 2: facts of the case and that it's not wrong, but
- 4:28Speaker 2: he's losing the narrative and that's the problem. So President
- 4:31Speaker 2: Trump responding by sending Tom Holman to Minnesota. He's on
- 4:35Speaker 2: his way there, he'll be there this afternoon talk to officials.
- 4:39Speaker 2: He's also probably going to sideline Christy Nomes. She's already
- 4:42Speaker 2: been taken out of the loop on this, he announced
- 4:45Speaker 2: last night. Here's his actual words. Holman will report directly
- 4:49Speaker 2: to me now and help lead the immigration Customs enforcement
- 4:53Speaker 2: operations in Minneapolis, taking Christy Nome out of the picture.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I'm sending Tom Holman to minnesot tonight. He's not been
- 5:02Speaker 2: involved in that area, but he knows and likes many
- 5:04Speaker 2: of the people there. Tom is tough, but fair and
- 5:08Speaker 2: will report directly to me. The President also saying separately,
- 5:13Speaker 2: a major investigation is going on with respect to the
- 5:17Speaker 2: massive twenty billion dollar plus welfare fraud that took place
- 5:21Speaker 2: in Minnesota. And he believed a lot of people believe
- 5:26Speaker 2: that's one reason they're gitting up these protests and this
- 5:29Speaker 2: violence to distract from that huge twenty billion dollar fraud.
- 5:34Speaker 2: But the presidents saying the investigation is ongoing, and actually
- 5:38Speaker 2: your Democrats there, it's also distracting from the investigation, which
- 5:43Speaker 2: means I'll be able to get more done under the radar. Additionally,
- 5:47Speaker 2: the President says the Department of Justice and Congress are
- 5:50Speaker 2: looking at Congresswoman elon Omar who was broke when she
- 5:55Speaker 2: took office and is now worth more than forty four
- 5:57Speaker 2: million dollars. And they'll figure out how that happened. So
- 6:02Speaker 2: it's a it's a bad situation in Minnesota. They've got
- 6:05Speaker 2: to clean this up. It's it's it's uh uh try
- 6:09Speaker 2: it's the Democrats are going to use this. This will
- 6:11Speaker 2: be the number one issue forget affordability, and they're throwing
- 6:14Speaker 2: that out there will just be this in the mid terms.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Now they're talking about defunding ICE, and they're talking about
- 6:22Speaker 2: doing that as fast as possible. Now, the problem is
- 6:25Speaker 2: ICE is part of the Department of Homeland Security. I
- 6:28Speaker 2: don't know how you could just defund ICE. You'd have
- 6:30Speaker 2: to defund the Department of Homeland Security. But that's a
- 6:34Speaker 2: problem because that also includes a TSA, that also includes
- 6:38Speaker 2: all kinds of things. You can't just defund that. So
- 6:41Speaker 2: Democrats will have a problem. But they'll yell and scream
- 6:44Speaker 2: about that. They'll they'll threaten a shutdown over this and
- 6:48Speaker 2: try to defund it. Then you got all these crazy
- 6:52Speaker 2: Minnesota Democrats trying to rile things up. You got the mayor.
- 6:57Speaker 2: If anybody's to blame for this. It's the mayor and
- 6:59Speaker 2: the governor for literally telling these people, these organized protesters,
- 7:04Speaker 2: telling them to go physically confront ice, get in their face.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Here's the mayor of Minneapolis.
- 7:10Speaker 4: More than six masked agents pummeling one of our constituents
- 7:18Speaker 4: and shooting him to death. How many more residents? How
- 7:23Speaker 4: many more Americans need to die or get badly hurt
- 7:27Speaker 4: for this operation to end?
- 7:29Speaker 2: Well, it's a good question. But it's like January sixth,
- 7:32Speaker 2: where they kept yelling at the president. Same thing to
- 7:34Speaker 2: you go on TV, tell them to stop, tell them
- 7:38Speaker 2: to go home, tell them to protest peacefully, tell them
- 7:41Speaker 2: to stay across the street, don't go physically confront ice.
- 7:44Speaker 2: But Fry is been trying to fuel this like crazy.
- 7:48Speaker 4: How many more lives need to be lost before this
- 7:52Speaker 4: administration realizes that?
- 7:54Speaker 2: Well, it's a good question. So why don't you tell
- 7:57Speaker 2: the protests stop physically confronting and getting in the face
- 8:00Speaker 2: of law enforcement jumping. It's one thing to protest, but
- 8:03Speaker 2: to actually jump in there and physically try to interfere
- 8:05Speaker 2: with them. Not to say this as Waltz, this federal
- 8:08Speaker 2: occupation of Minnesota long ago, stop being a matter of
- 8:11Speaker 2: Immigration Enforcement. It's a campaign of organized brutality against the
- 8:15Speaker 2: people of our state. But again he's just trying to
- 8:18Speaker 2: rile people up. You know a couple of things, one
- 8:22Speaker 2: the language, telling people to go confront them, telling people
- 8:26Speaker 2: to physically go after ICE, but also totally withdrawing police,
- 8:30Speaker 2: National Guard, all of that. If you had sent the
- 8:33Speaker 2: police in to control the protesters like they do anywhere else,
- 8:37Speaker 2: you keep them behind barricade, you keep them separate from
- 8:39Speaker 2: the ICE office, physically separate. They may yell and scream,
- 8:42Speaker 2: but it's that separation that saves their lives. They've refused
- 8:46Speaker 2: to do that. Now, you got two thousand ICE agents
- 8:48Speaker 2: in Minneapolis, and believe it or not, Minneapolis only has
- 8:52Speaker 2: six hundred cops. So but again, the governor could send
- 8:55Speaker 2: him the National Guard, all of that stuff just to
- 8:58Speaker 2: control the protests, keep them physically separate from EIST, and
- 9:02Speaker 2: you would not have had any of these problems at all. So,
- 9:07Speaker 2: by the way, articles of impeachment have been filed against
- 9:10Speaker 2: Tim Waltz, governor of Minnesota from a Republican state representative.
- 9:15Speaker 2: But he's got a good case. It looks like a
- 9:17Speaker 2: twenty billion got stolen for that daycare fraud scheme with
- 9:23Speaker 2: the Attorney general in Minnesota either looking the other way
- 9:26Speaker 2: or being so incompetent he didn't see it. And it's
- 9:28Speaker 2: the same thing with the governor. Either he looked the
- 9:31Speaker 2: other way deliberately, or he was part of this twenty
- 9:34Speaker 2: billion dollar fraud, or he's just totally incompetent and didn't
- 9:38Speaker 2: know what was going on. They're going to start looking
- 9:41Speaker 2: at all of this, examining it, and it looks like
- 9:44Speaker 2: there was no control of the money being given out
- 9:47Speaker 2: to these fake daycare centers. It looks like there was
- 9:50Speaker 2: no accounting in any way. It looks like they did nothing,
- 9:55Speaker 2: nothing to check to see if anything any of these
- 9:57Speaker 2: organizations were real. They just handed out the money. Many
- 10:00Speaker 2: people suspect a lot of Democrats benefited, maybe a public officials,
- 10:06Speaker 2: maybe people. Or they also think a lot of the
- 10:09Speaker 2: money got a good percentage got kicked back into donations
- 10:13Speaker 2: into campaigns. So that investigation going on, and the impeachment
- 10:19Speaker 2: has been filed against Waltz. We'll see if that goes anywhere.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I remembers telling you about Davos. The Davos is a
- 10:26Speaker 2: you know that conference where you see like literally two
- 10:29Speaker 2: hundred and fifty private jets on the runways. It's not
- 10:32Speaker 2: a fancy place, Davos, and it's kind of a dump.
- 10:34Speaker 2: The hotels are jumpy, but they got a lot of
- 10:36Speaker 2: beautiful chalets around there, and these zillionaires rent all those
- 10:41Speaker 2: chalets and that's where they stayed. But apparently, and I
- 10:44Speaker 2: also told you, remember this is like the biggest thing
- 10:47Speaker 2: of the year for prostitutes in Europe. Sex workers. It's
- 10:50Speaker 2: like they're Super Bowl Davos. Well here, now that it's over,
- 10:54Speaker 2: we're getting actual statistics. Apparently the demand for prostitutes in Davos,
- 10:59Speaker 2: scott I rocketed this year. It was unbelievable. The requests
- 11:03Speaker 2: were up four thousand percent in Davos this year. Particularly
- 11:07Speaker 2: high number of users were from the US, Russia, Ukraine. Yeah,
- 11:12Speaker 2: these Ukrainians, they made a lot of money off this war,
- 11:15Speaker 2: spending it like crazy. They don't want to go into details.
- 11:19Speaker 2: There's you know, these sex worker services. But they said
- 11:24Speaker 2: not only was it up four thousand percent, but there
- 11:26Speaker 2: was one client who allegedly spent one hundred and twenty
- 11:30Speaker 2: thousand dollars. He wanted five women at once for four days.
- 11:35Speaker 2: The bill was one hundred and twenty thousand, but he's
- 11:38Speaker 2: a billionaire, so it's absolutely nothing for him. You know
- 11:44Speaker 2: your electric rates are going crazy in New York City, Well,
- 11:49Speaker 2: believe it or not, On Thursday, the Public Service Commission
- 11:51Speaker 2: approved Kanid's request for a rate hike. That'll be about
- 11:58Speaker 2: six hundred and fifteen dollars per year more, maybe sixty
- 12:01Speaker 2: dollars a month more for gas and electricity a rate hike.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Bureaucrats are insisting that law, not politics, is driving the
- 12:10Speaker 2: cost increases. You can blame a lot of people. You
- 12:12Speaker 2: can blame Andrew Cuomo for your out of control electric bills.
- 12:16Speaker 2: He shut down our nuclear power plant Indian Point, which
- 12:19Speaker 2: was a big mistake. It was twenty five percent of
- 12:22Speaker 2: our electricity. Nuclear power is the safest, cheapest, easiest, and
- 12:28Speaker 2: Cuomo shut it down. Everybody at the time told him
- 12:32Speaker 2: it's going to drive electric bills way up, and it did.
- 12:36Speaker 2: It absolutely did. You can remember Democrats are not really
- 12:39Speaker 2: the party of affordability because they'll do things like this,
- 12:43Speaker 2: shut down the nuclear plant, not drill for natural gas,
- 12:47Speaker 2: not allow fracking. This drives your electric bill through the roof. Now.
- 12:52Speaker 2: The other thing is, believe it or not, this green
- 12:55Speaker 2: stuff like wind windmills, wind power. It's very expensive per
- 13:00Speaker 2: kilowot hour to pay for that electricity. It's like four
- 13:03Speaker 2: times as much as fossil fuel. So all this stuff
- 13:07Speaker 2: has caused a huge increase in your electric bills in
- 13:11Speaker 2: Public Service Commission just approved another increase. So you got
- 13:15Speaker 2: to clean house in November. You got to get rid
- 13:17Speaker 2: of Kathy Hockel, you got to get rid of a
- 13:20Speaker 2: lot of the legislature. That's the only hope I would
- 13:24Speaker 2: tell you to vote for Bruce Blakeman in November. He's
- 13:27Speaker 2: a common sense He's a governor. He's the county executive
- 13:31Speaker 2: of West of Nassau County, county executive in Nasau County,
- 13:36Speaker 2: and that's basically what a county executive is. A governor.
- 13:38Speaker 2: He's turned Nassau County into the most efficient, safest county
- 13:42Speaker 2: in America. So he'll be running and you got got
- 13:44Speaker 2: to get rid of a lot of this legislature. They're
- 13:47Speaker 2: just crazy there, you know, mom, Donnie comes from the legislature.
- 13:51Speaker 2: You got people like that in the legislature, crazy left
- 13:54Speaker 2: wing people. They'll drive your cost crazy. Whenever you get
- 13:58Speaker 2: any of these very left wing socialis, this costs go
- 14:01Speaker 2: way up. It happens all the time. So hey, Bill
- 14:06Speaker 2: Maher has been pretty good here Bill Maher this week
- 14:09Speaker 2: talking about mom Donnie, about the people he's hired, the
- 14:12Speaker 2: things they've tweeted.
- 14:13Speaker 3: It matters that the mayor stands by, and so I
- 14:17Speaker 3: assume stands with someone who says things like, if you
- 14:21Speaker 3: don't believe in the government's sacred right to seize private property,
- 14:25Speaker 3: it's over seize private property. Home ownership is racist. Elect
- 14:31Speaker 3: more communists. Private property, especially home ownership is a weapon
- 14:37Speaker 3: of white supremacy. Really, even among the twenty million Black
- 14:41Speaker 3: Americans who own their own home.
- 14:46Speaker 2: He has appoint at some crazy people.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Democrats seem to be having this debate whether or not
- 14:51Speaker 3: Mayor Mom Donnie is a socialist or a democratic socialist.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Let me settle it. He's a straight up communist. Do
- 15:00Speaker 3: I know this well, I'm reading between the lines when
- 15:06Speaker 3: one of his major advisors says, elect more communists, which
- 15:11Speaker 3: is fine, it's fine, it's a belief system. He's allowed
- 15:15Speaker 3: to believe it and people are allowed to vote for it.
- 15:18Speaker 2: But if liberals.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Deny it, like he's just going through a goth phase,
- 15:24Speaker 3: they're going to lose more elections. This is not a
- 15:26Speaker 3: communist country.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's definitely not.
- 15:29Speaker 5: Now.
- 15:29Speaker 2: The only good news is a lot of people think, mom,
- 15:32Speaker 2: donn he's not the most courageous guy in the world
- 15:35Speaker 2: that you know. It takes a lot of guts to
- 15:37Speaker 2: go in there and bust up something and try to,
- 15:40Speaker 2: you know, transform me. It takes a lot of courage.
- 15:42Speaker 2: A lot of people don't think he has it so
- 15:44Speaker 2: and this week has put him to the test managerial wise, snowstorm,
- 15:48Speaker 2: all of that, and he put on that emergency response
- 15:51Speaker 2: jacket and he's out in the field. He was helping
- 15:53Speaker 2: the shovel snow. So, who knows, Maybe he'll calm down
- 15:56Speaker 2: a little, Maybe he'll start to realize what government should
- 16:01Speaker 2: do and shouldn't do. And well, we'll see. Hey, Bruce
- 16:05Speaker 2: Blakeman will be with this a little while. We'll take
- 16:06Speaker 2: some calls. Next eight hundred three two one zero seven
- 16:10Speaker 2: ten is the number eight hundred three two one zero seven.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Ten where usure comes for common sense, Mark simone on
- 16:18Speaker 4: seven ten, w R.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Maria
- 16:25Speaker 2: in Terrytown, Maria. How you doing him?
- 16:28Speaker 6: Mark Fine? To find out is there ever going to
- 16:31Speaker 6: be an investigation of who is paying all these protests.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yes, it is underway now and they're finding all kinds
- 16:38Speaker 2: of networks in encrypted.
- 16:40Speaker 5: Does what's going right?
- 16:42Speaker 2: Well, it takes a while, but they'll track it down.
- 16:44Speaker 2: They'll track down where the money's coming from. Hey, what's
- 16:48Speaker 2: the snow look like up there in Terrytown? Can you see?
- 16:51Speaker 6: I got we almost got a foot of snow?
- 16:54Speaker 2: But can you look out the window of the roads clear?
- 16:56Speaker 2: Is there traffic out there? Well?
- 16:59Speaker 6: Yeah, so it's a little town and yeah, there do
- 17:02Speaker 6: you see some cars moving around?
- 17:05Speaker 2: All right? That's good. Well, thanks for Colin. Let's go
- 17:07Speaker 2: to John and Florida. John, how you doing good money?
- 17:11Speaker 5: Mark?
- 17:12Speaker 2: Colin?
- 17:12Speaker 7: And k about conn Edison. Coln Edison doesn't raise the
- 17:15Speaker 7: rates by the New York State power upity Connors just
- 17:18Speaker 7: wires and pipe company as well as transmitting gears. Don't
- 17:22Speaker 7: you get a portion of the electrical rate that the
- 17:25Speaker 7: customers played in New York? We don't generate electricity no more.
- 17:29Speaker 7: We just transmitted. We have a couple of spots substations
- 17:33Speaker 7: in Hudson over an Astoria up in Ravenswood, but good
- 17:37Speaker 7: bye good basically stand by in case something goes wrong
- 17:39Speaker 7: out out state or in Pennsylvania.
- 17:42Speaker 2: No, all right, well thanks for the information. Yeah, but
- 17:44Speaker 2: again Andrew Cmo shutting down our nuclear plant that cost
- 17:49Speaker 2: us twenty five percent of our electricity, driving the cost
- 17:52Speaker 2: up like crazy. You got Hochel and all the rest,
- 17:54Speaker 2: and refuse to do fracking. If you just allowed fracking,
- 17:57Speaker 2: your electric bill would really drop. But Democrats are not
- 18:01Speaker 2: big unaffordability. Let's go to Jim in Michigan. Jim, how
- 18:04Speaker 2: you doing?
- 18:06Speaker 5: Hey, Mark? With the people in Greenland, see the sheriff
- 18:09Speaker 5: in Philadelphia, I could see them getting a little bit nervous.
- 18:13Speaker 5: And I don't know why. You people up in the northeast.
- 18:15Speaker 5: A little snow and you people start, you know, you
- 18:17Speaker 5: people act like you never saw a snow before.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Yeah, well it's fun. You know the problem is we
- 18:24Speaker 2: haven't had We've had a couple winters of very little snow.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing.
- 18:30Speaker 8: Good morning? Mark, Yes, Mike, I'd like to have the
- 18:34Speaker 8: Fiagra concession in Davos. I can tell you that.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Well, what did Greg Gutfield call it? The uh, the
- 18:42Speaker 2: colachella of the sealis version of cola Cello, that's a
- 18:47Speaker 2: good one too.
- 18:49Speaker 8: You know, I wanted to point out this, This thing
- 18:51Speaker 8: that's going on in Minnesota is a classic example of
- 18:54Speaker 8: how the Democrats and Republicans approach the same story, and
- 18:58Speaker 8: one wins and one loses. You know, Republicans institute this policy,
- 19:03Speaker 8: the Democrats go crazy. They accused the Republicans of creating
- 19:06Speaker 8: havoc and chaos. Then no Democrat equivocates. No Democrat will
- 19:11Speaker 8: come out and say, well, we should rethink it. But
- 19:13Speaker 8: every Republican, no matter where they are, will start to
- 19:17Speaker 8: clutch their pearls. Oh maybe this, Maybe we should do this,
- 19:21Speaker 8: Maybe we should back down, Maybe we should say this way,
- 19:23Speaker 8: maybe we should message it that way. It doesn't work.
- 19:26Speaker 8: Every time they do it. The Democrats take it as
- 19:29Speaker 8: a gain and a victory. It doesn't matter if it's
- 19:31Speaker 8: an inch or a mile's victory.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That's true. Well, listen, the real problem is you got
- 19:36Speaker 2: the public officials in Minnesota jinting this up, telling the
- 19:40Speaker 2: crowd to literally go physically confront ice interfere with their operations.
- 19:45Speaker 2: That's just a recipe for total disaster. As we've seen,
- 19:49Speaker 2: any responsible official would be on television telling them back off.
- 19:53Speaker 2: If you want to protest, stay across the street, and
- 19:56Speaker 2: any responsible public officials will have police there to make
- 19:59Speaker 2: sure the protesters are separate from ice and not physically
- 20:04Speaker 2: contacting them or being that aggressive. Let's go to Ann
- 20:07Speaker 2: in Connecticut and how you doing?
- 20:10Speaker 6: Ah good?
- 20:11Speaker 5: How are you good?
- 20:12Speaker 2: Where are you in Connecticut?
- 20:14Speaker 5: I'm an East Campton, East Hampton.
- 20:16Speaker 6: Not twenty miles north. Yeah, it about twenty miles north
- 20:19Speaker 6: of World Fabrook.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Oh and you got fifteen inches?
- 20:23Speaker 6: Yeah about that pilot twelve somewhere around there. I like
- 20:28Speaker 6: comment to make about what the mayor I'm saying and
- 20:32Speaker 6: then saying how many more lives is it going to take?
- 20:35Speaker 6: And I'm thinking, well, if you help us catch the
- 20:37Speaker 6: people that are killing Americans, the illegal immigrants, how many
- 20:41Speaker 6: lives have Americans lost?
- 20:43Speaker 2: Yeah? Well that's that's the other point. If renee Good
- 20:46Speaker 2: had been killed by any illegal alien, you think you'd
- 20:49Speaker 2: have ever heard about it? You think it would ever
- 20:50Speaker 2: be in the news. I don't think. So Let's go
- 20:53Speaker 2: to rich and Myrtle Beach. Rich how you doing?
- 20:56Speaker 5: Hey? Thanks, Mark. We're getting screwed down here with all electricity.
- 20:59Speaker 5: They instituted a peak hours. Now where in the winter
- 21:03Speaker 5: time at six to nine am, and in the summertime
- 21:05Speaker 5: it's three to six pm. So they bang it for
- 21:08Speaker 5: eight bucks just to having your refrigerator on during that time,
- 21:11Speaker 5: even if you don't raise the heat or anything. Then
- 21:12Speaker 5: I find out that our power company, Ory County Power,
- 21:16Speaker 5: is owned by the state and doesn't have to answer
- 21:18Speaker 5: to a utility board or a complaints department, So they
- 21:22Speaker 5: runt of the total monopoly down here. My winter bill
- 21:25Speaker 5: for January or February the last couple of years would
- 21:27Speaker 5: have been ninety nine two hundred dollars. Now it's one
- 21:30Speaker 5: hundred and forty eight to one hundred and sixty three dollars.
- 21:32Speaker 5: And I can't get any politician down here to do anything.
- 21:35Speaker 5: And they raise the rates based on this board that's
- 21:38Speaker 5: overrunning this power company, which is appointed by the governor.
- 21:41Speaker 5: And this is a Republican state. We're getting screwed big
- 21:43Speaker 5: time now.
- 21:44Speaker 2: So this myth about moving to South Carolina, North Carolina,
- 21:47Speaker 2: you'll save a fortune, not one hundred percent, Troy.
- 21:49Speaker 5: Right. Well, here's another one. Because we were getting gas
- 21:53Speaker 5: at the pump at two twenty two last week also
- 21:55Speaker 5: now jumped to two sixty nine and two sixty three.
- 21:58Speaker 5: And sometimes I'll see two states right next to each
- 22:00Speaker 5: other one one one is two twenty nine, the other
- 22:02Speaker 5: one's two fifty nine. I don't know what the hell's
- 22:05Speaker 5: going on here in this country, because all of a sudden,
- 22:07Speaker 5: you went from two dolls twenty five cents gas to
- 22:10Speaker 5: two dollars and sixty three overnight. And has it come
- 22:13Speaker 5: down yet?
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, it's a lot of local you know, gases
- 22:16Speaker 2: two fifty all of America. Here in New York three
- 22:18Speaker 2: fifty four bucks. That's all state local mounsense, taxes, fees,
- 22:22Speaker 2: all kinds of Hey, when we come back to the
- 22:24Speaker 2: best county executive in America and the man who should
- 22:27Speaker 2: be and I think we'll be the next governor of
- 22:28Speaker 2: New York, Bruce Blakeman. Will talk to him next on
- 22:31Speaker 2: seven to ten WR.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Set up bre said on the iHeartRadio app to wo
- 22:36Speaker 4: R to hear Mark live.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Set another for Mark's podcast to hear him any time.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Now back to Mark Simone on wo R, Well, Bruce
- 22:47Speaker 2: Blakeman the best county executive in America. That's basically it's
- 22:52Speaker 2: being a governor of a county. That's what it is.
- 22:54Speaker 2: And it's a phenomenal governor. He should be the governor
- 22:57Speaker 2: in November. He should vote for him in he'd be
- 23:00Speaker 2: excellent as our governor in New York State. But he's
- 23:04Speaker 2: on the line now, Bruce Blakeman, how you doing doing good?
- 23:08Speaker 5: Mark? It's an honor to be on the radio again
- 23:10Speaker 5: with you. You're a good friend and I really appreciate it.
- 23:14Speaker 5: You took the time out to come to my inauguration.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Yeah, that was quite an inauguration. A lot of a
- 23:19Speaker 2: lot of people there, and you got a standing ovation.
- 23:21Speaker 2: That was a powerful speech. And tell us about Nasau County.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Give us an update. How does it look right now?
- 23:29Speaker 5: Yeah, so basically we had all our trucks out twenty
- 23:35Speaker 5: four hours pretty much. Because of the frigid weather before
- 23:41Speaker 5: this storm and continuing on this week, it has made
- 23:43Speaker 5: it a little more problematic. We cleared all the roads
- 23:47Speaker 5: yesterday and we went through them again today. They're all clear.
- 23:53Speaker 5: But I do want to stress that because of the
- 23:55Speaker 5: frigid weather, the salt doesn't work as well as it
- 23:58Speaker 5: would if it was a off twenty degrees. Right now,
- 24:02Speaker 5: we're in the teens. We've been in single digits. So
- 24:06Speaker 5: for the rest of the week, it's going to be
- 24:07Speaker 5: very frigid, and the salt won't work as well as
- 24:11Speaker 5: it would if it got a little warmer, So it's
- 24:14Speaker 5: going to take a while. Everybody's got to go a
- 24:16Speaker 5: little slower. Plan ahead, take your time and realize that
- 24:20Speaker 5: there could be black ice on the roadways and on
- 24:23Speaker 5: the sidewalks. Just take it easy. And by the way,
- 24:26Speaker 5: we've had three fatalities from shoveling this weekend. And look,
- 24:31Speaker 5: if you're not fit, if you're not young, don't do it.
- 24:36Speaker 5: Either have a neighbor help you or pay somebody to
- 24:39Speaker 5: do it. But if you're not in shape to shovel,
- 24:42Speaker 5: don't do it. Because this is very heavy snow because
- 24:45Speaker 5: we also got on top of the snow fleet and
- 24:48Speaker 5: frozen rains, so it's probably three to four times as
- 24:52Speaker 5: heavy as it would be if it was just snow.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Wow. Hey, so I didn't realize the salt doesn't work
- 24:57Speaker 2: at that's kind of a low temperature. So what do
- 24:59Speaker 2: you do? You sand insteady?
- 25:01Speaker 5: No, No, it works, but not as well. The colder
- 25:04Speaker 5: it gets, the less it works. So a typical storm
- 25:08Speaker 5: mark is followed by warmer weather. That's just what meteorologists
- 25:13Speaker 5: have told us This was a very unique storm because
- 25:17Speaker 5: of the storm came in through Canada and it didn't
- 25:22Speaker 5: go south first, it was on a different a different
- 25:26Speaker 5: windscreen cell. Basically, we got just frigid, cold air from
- 25:31Speaker 5: Canada that came in and it wasn't followed by warmer weather. Actually,
- 25:36Speaker 5: it's going to get colder. It's going to get the
- 25:37Speaker 5: single digits. So the salt works best when it's over
- 25:43Speaker 5: twenty degrees. It has diminishing returns as it gets colder,
- 25:48Speaker 5: So when it's in the teens, it's less effective. When
- 25:50Speaker 5: it's single digits, it's less effective, so resulting, but again
- 25:56Speaker 5: it's not going to have the same effect it would
- 25:58Speaker 5: usually have, which makes the pavement dry and makes it
- 26:01Speaker 5: much safer.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Well, we'll talk with Bruce Blakeman, best county executive in America. Now,
- 26:06Speaker 2: what else in Nasau County? Schools are open or will open?
- 26:10Speaker 5: No schools are closed, but we anticipate that they'll be
- 26:13Speaker 5: open tomorrow. But that's up to each school district to
- 26:16Speaker 5: make a determination as to whether or not it's safe
- 26:19Speaker 5: to open their schools. Our buses are back on schedule, However,
- 26:24Speaker 5: they're running a little late, about fifteen minutes behind because
- 26:28Speaker 5: of the snow and the ice, and the Long Island
- 26:33Speaker 5: Railroad is on a weekend schedule, so rather than have
- 26:37Speaker 5: a train like every fifteen or twenty minutes or thirty minutes,
- 26:40Speaker 5: depending on where your station is at, it'll probably be
- 26:44Speaker 5: every train a train every hour, So it'll be a
- 26:47Speaker 5: weekend schedule. Plan ahead. And our warming centers are still
- 26:53Speaker 5: in use. We've got about forty people in them right now.
- 26:55Speaker 5: We're feeding them hot meals, We're giving them a safe
- 26:58Speaker 5: and clean environment and warm environments. So if anybody has
- 27:02Speaker 5: any questions, go to Nassau County and why dot gov.
- 27:06Speaker 5: We have all the information up there should you need
- 27:08Speaker 5: any additional services, our power outages or down mark. But
- 27:13Speaker 5: we do think that there's going to be an increase
- 27:15Speaker 5: because as the branches form more and more ice, they
- 27:19Speaker 5: get heavier, they break, they fall on the power lines,
- 27:23Speaker 5: so we're anticipating that. And finally, pay attention to the
- 27:28Speaker 5: pipes in your house and your business. It's going to
- 27:31Speaker 5: get very very cold. Make sure they're insulated and that
- 27:34Speaker 5: the heat is on in your basement and areas where
- 27:38Speaker 5: it could get very cold, because we don't want pipes
- 27:40Speaker 5: to burst. That creates real problems for our businesses and homeowners.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, and Bruce Blakeman is running for governor and
- 27:48Speaker 2: you should support him. And if you want to help,
- 27:49Speaker 2: donate or work on the campaign, go to Blakemanfronewyork dot com.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Blakemanfronewyork dot com. Kathy hook have been yelling and screaming
- 27:59Speaker 2: about ICE as account executive. You must have had a
- 28:02Speaker 2: deal with ICE, right, I have the.
- 28:04Speaker 5: Most comprehensive agreement with ICE in the United States. As
- 28:07Speaker 5: a matter of fact, both my Sheriff's department my police
- 28:11Speaker 5: department are working extensively with ICE. You know, Mark, Just
- 28:15Speaker 5: last month we removed forty six illegal migrants with criminal records.
- 28:21Speaker 5: Twenty seven of them were engaged in gang activity. So
- 28:25Speaker 5: I don't know what Kathy Hochel's doing. She's spending billions
- 28:28Speaker 5: and billions of dollars on illegal migrants who've been here
- 28:31Speaker 5: for fifteen minutes. They haven't earned this thing. They're getting
- 28:34Speaker 5: free housing, free transportation, free food, free cell phone, and
- 28:38Speaker 5: now they're going to get free childcare. I mean, it's
- 28:41Speaker 5: just wrongheaded. It's a burden to the taxpayers. If you
- 28:46Speaker 5: want to make New York more affordable, you got to
- 28:49Speaker 5: cut the taxes because our taxes are the highest in
- 28:53Speaker 5: the nation. Now she's spending them on illegal migrants. We're
- 28:57Speaker 5: working together with ICE. She's fighting against ICE. I want
- 29:00Speaker 5: to make our communities safer. She's pro criminal cash list bail,
- 29:04Speaker 5: fighting with ICE, raise the age. She's never met a
- 29:07Speaker 5: criminal she didn't like.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, Florida has a bigger population than we do.
- 29:12Speaker 2: It's a bigger state than New York. Believe in, and
- 29:14Speaker 2: our budget is double that of Florida. In New York State.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Why is that?
- 29:19Speaker 5: Because it's out of control. We've had one party rule
- 29:22Speaker 5: with the State Assembly, of the state Senate, and the
- 29:25Speaker 5: Governor's office all held by Democrats, all far left leaning.
- 29:31Speaker 5: They enact policies that don't work for the hard working
- 29:35Speaker 5: families of New York State. They make it more expensive
- 29:38Speaker 5: to live here. They chase businesses out of the state
- 29:42Speaker 5: by over taxation, over regulation. I want to create job prosperity.
- 29:46Speaker 5: I want people to get good jobs with high wages
- 29:50Speaker 5: and high benefits. That's how you make it more affordable,
- 29:53Speaker 5: put more money in people's pockets. Basically, Kathy Hokee, all
- 29:57Speaker 5: she's doing is taking money out of everybody else. Pockets,
- 30:00Speaker 5: and you know how I knew it was so cold
- 30:02Speaker 5: out Mark, Kathy Hochel had her hand in her own pockets.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Story. So she's got a lot of money. I think
- 30:11Speaker 2: she's raised about thirty two million. But she seems quite
- 30:13Speaker 2: worried about you. She's all over the place trying to
- 30:16Speaker 2: be a very left wing kooka right wing koot. So
- 30:20Speaker 2: don't think she has much chance in a debate against you,
- 30:22Speaker 2: am I right?
- 30:24Speaker 5: Well, I'm looking forward to it. I would debate her
- 30:26Speaker 5: every week if she would do it. She runs away
- 30:29Speaker 5: from her record. I'm going to run on my record.
- 30:32Speaker 5: I've got the safest county America. I haven't raised taxes
- 30:35Speaker 5: one penny in four years. People are genuinely happy here.
- 30:40Speaker 5: We have the lowest poverty rate in the state. The
- 30:43Speaker 5: poverty rate in New York State is fifteen percent. It's
- 30:46Speaker 5: three times what ours is in Nassau County. You know
- 30:49Speaker 5: that's not right. I want to give these people who
- 30:51Speaker 5: are living under the poverty level the ability to make
- 30:54Speaker 5: more money and to be able to have a better
- 30:57Speaker 5: life for their families. And people aren't happy here in
- 31:00Speaker 5: New York. They're miserable. Under Kathy Hogel, I want to
- 31:03Speaker 5: make them happy again by putting New Yorkers first and
- 31:06Speaker 5: having a governor that actually cares about their families.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, let's get back to ICE for a second.
- 31:11Speaker 2: You've had ICE all over Nasau County operating and very smoothly,
- 31:15Speaker 2: no problem. And again, how do you do that just
- 31:17Speaker 2: by cooperating?
- 31:19Speaker 5: Yeah, we have the most comprehensive agreement with ICE. We
- 31:22Speaker 5: dedicated fifty jail cells to ICE with our sheriff's department.
- 31:27Speaker 5: We have ten detectives in our police department that are
- 31:30Speaker 5: cross designated with ICE to assist ICE. It's worked incredibly. Well,
- 31:35Speaker 5: you got a minute, Can I tell you christ story?
- 31:37Speaker 2: Yeah, this all sounds pretty logical.
- 31:40Speaker 5: Okay, So let me tell you a story. Last month,
- 31:43Speaker 5: we had a larceny here in Nassau County. Through good
- 31:47Speaker 5: police work, we put out bulletins not only the federal,
- 31:50Speaker 5: state and local law enforcement partners, but into national of
- 31:54Speaker 5: a guy who he robbed a jewelry store took a
- 31:58Speaker 5: twelve thousand dollars diamond bracelet. And basically what we did
- 32:04Speaker 5: was we put out this alert. The UK Scotland yard
- 32:08Speaker 5: recognized this guy. They had an international warrant out for
- 32:12Speaker 5: his arrest, as did other countries. The guy was Romanian,
- 32:16Speaker 5: he had an Irish passport. He was in the country illegally.
- 32:20Speaker 5: He came through Mexico, up through Arizona and made his
- 32:23Speaker 5: way to New York. Would good police work, our Nassau
- 32:27Speaker 5: County Police Department arrested him, and under Kathy Hopeless Kathy
- 32:33Speaker 5: Hochel's castless bail, we would have had to release him
- 32:36Speaker 5: back into the public. Wouldn't spend one day in jail.
- 32:41Speaker 5: But we had ice pick them up, pick him up
- 32:43Speaker 5: and get him out of our out of our state,
- 32:46Speaker 5: get him out of the country and make us safe.
- 32:48Speaker 5: But here's the crazy thing. He had a New York
- 32:52Speaker 5: State valid driver's license. What how the heck did that happen.
- 32:57Speaker 5: If they had done a background check or finger printed this,
- 33:00Speaker 5: they would have found out that he had warrants out
- 33:02Speaker 5: in countries all over the world. He was part of
- 33:04Speaker 5: an international criminal theft ring. And that's how crazy we are.
- 33:10Speaker 5: We're giving out driver's license to legal migrants who we're here,
- 33:15Speaker 5: they're here illegally and they have a criminal record, and
- 33:17Speaker 5: we're giving them a driver's license. Just insane.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Well, now, this is horrifying. A lot of people and say, well,
- 33:24Speaker 2: what can we do about this? Well, I would say
- 33:25Speaker 2: vote for Bruce Blakeman for governor in November and bring
- 33:28Speaker 2: this kind of common sense good government to what's the
- 33:32Speaker 2: website Blakemanfromnewyork dot com.
- 33:34Speaker 5: Right, yes, blakemanfronew York dot com. Please visit my website.
- 33:39Speaker 5: We'd love to have your support. We want to make
- 33:42Speaker 5: New Yorkers happy again by instituting common sense principles, the
- 33:47Speaker 5: same values that we grew up with that our parents,
- 33:50Speaker 5: grandparents and great grandparents taught us.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Well, Bruce Blakeman, I hope you'll win this from on November.
- 33:54Speaker 2: You'd be a great governor and everybody go to Blakemanfromnewyork
- 33:58Speaker 2: dot com. Donate to volunteer whatever you can do to
- 34:01Speaker 2: help well, keep up the good work in Nasau County.
- 34:04Speaker 2: We'll talk again soon.
- 34:05Speaker 5: It's always a pleasure. Mark God bless you, Stay warm,
- 34:08Speaker 5: stay safe.
- 34:09Speaker 2: All right, thanks for being with us. Take care. That's
- 34:12Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman, County Executive. You're basically the governor. You're the
- 34:16Speaker 2: governor of the county and that's the good thing. He's
- 34:21Speaker 2: got experience as a governor and in Nasau County safest
- 34:24Speaker 2: county in America right now. And that stuff about ice
- 34:27Speaker 2: makes so much sense. It's so easy to do. And
- 34:29Speaker 2: you've never heard about a problem with ice in Nassau County.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Just cooperate, work with them, help them. It gets done easily, calmly, safely. Hey,
- 34:38Speaker 2: coming up at noon today, Bucks Exton and Clay Travis
- 34:42Speaker 2: and then the most listened to radio show in America
- 34:45Speaker 2: Sean Hannity at three. You got Jesse Kelly at six o'clock,
- 34:50Speaker 2: and we now have Jimmy Fayla every night nine to midnight.
- 34:53Speaker 2: It's a great show. I mean, it's an interesting informative
- 34:56Speaker 2: it's also very funny. President Trump has become a big
- 35:00Speaker 2: Jimmy Fayla fan. He's been listening and watching and tweeting
- 35:03Speaker 2: out about the show. But listen to it tonight at
- 35:06Speaker 2: nine on seven to ten wor this is.
- 35:10Speaker 8: Seven to ten WRS.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Marmon Show.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Well, Hey, is this story that came out over the
- 35:20Speaker 2: weekend about Ted Cruz bad mouthing Donald Trump, attacking Donald Trump.
- 35:25Speaker 2: And the story is that it was at a there's
- 35:28Speaker 2: a recording of it. It was when he was at
- 35:30Speaker 2: a meeting, private meeting with donors, speaking to donors, and
- 35:36Speaker 2: it sounded pretty bad. But the more we look into this,
- 35:38Speaker 2: the more doubt about this story even being real. It's
- 35:42Speaker 2: a Trump hating reporter who's reporting this, and nobody's heard
- 35:46Speaker 2: the audio. It's her claiming she heard the audio and
- 35:50Speaker 2: that's what she's heard, but there is no audio anywhere
- 35:54Speaker 2: of this. And if this were really the case, you
- 35:57Speaker 2: think that would turn up, but it hasn't, so put
- 35:59Speaker 2: a big question mark on that story. So they vice
- 36:05Speaker 2: President Vance this weekend talking about Minneapolis saying it's engineered chaos. Well,
- 36:12Speaker 2: that's a good way to put it, engineered chaos because
- 36:16Speaker 2: you know Democrats loved to use rioting. They love to
- 36:19Speaker 2: weaponize rioters protesters. You remember the summer of twenty twenty
- 36:23Speaker 2: when they had riots all over the street. Minnesota was
- 36:26Speaker 2: the worst. That's where they had that autonomous zone where
- 36:29Speaker 2: they took over a section of the city. Riots all
- 36:31Speaker 2: over twenty twenty. And when it comes to January sixth,
- 36:36Speaker 2: where a massive amount of protesters were coming to the
- 36:38Speaker 2: capital and they were offered twenty thousand National Guard or
- 36:43Speaker 2: at some reports ten thousand national guards if they turned
- 36:45Speaker 2: it down. Pelosi, who later admitted on a video she
- 36:49Speaker 2: turned it down and the DC mayor, if you got
- 36:53Speaker 2: ten thousand protesters, actually they had four hundred thousand protesters coming.
- 36:57Speaker 2: And you try to defend the building just with the
- 36:59Speaker 2: building security guards to Capitol Hill police, it's not gonna work.
- 37:03Speaker 2: So they do engineer chaos sometimes Democrats and the same
- 37:08Speaker 2: thing in Minnesota. You just heard Bruce Blakeman County Executive
- 37:12Speaker 2: NASA County said with Ice, they just cooperate. They give
- 37:15Speaker 2: Ice whatever they need. They you know, orderly, safe, let
- 37:19Speaker 2: them do their job. But in Minnesota got a mayor
- 37:22Speaker 2: and a governor telling the rioters, the protesters get in
- 37:26Speaker 2: their face, interfere, try to stop them. This is only
- 37:30Speaker 2: going to lead to trouble. And I think we just
- 37:31Speaker 2: saw that this weekend. Hey, we're out of time, don't
- 37:34Speaker 2: go away. Stay tuned for Buck and Clay. That's an
- 37:36Speaker 2: excellent show every day right after the news at noon.
