- 0:09Speaker 1: than politics that just drives you crazy, Like, uh, there's
- 0:16Speaker 1: a member of my extended family who's overly complimentary. No,
- 0:24Speaker 1: I mean it's just it's just I would think you
- 0:27Speaker 1: would love them. No, No, No, lays it on way too.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Thick, like it's insincere.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I guess it's insincere. It's just too much.
- 0:38Speaker 3: It's embarrassing it stop, do go on.
- 0:42Speaker 1: No, I just know it's you know, thank you? Yes, yes,
- 0:46Speaker 1: I know, I know that I have I have a
- 0:48Speaker 1: successful career. Yes, I yeah, I'm I'm you know what
- 0:52Speaker 1: I'm talking about, Carrie. It's just it just it just
- 0:56Speaker 1: gets to be too much and it's embarrassing, makes me
- 1:00Speaker 1: feel creepy. You must have several examples, Gina.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Oh well, I was just reading this one that came
- 1:05Speaker 2: in via text. Why can my wife and kid not
- 1:08Speaker 2: put dishes in the dishwasher? They stack them high in
- 1:10Speaker 2: the sink, which is literally inches from the dishwasher. Is
- 1:14Speaker 2: it really that hard?
- 1:18Speaker 4: I don't have any because I don't speak to my
- 1:20Speaker 4: family because of politics.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Let's go, Tim, the tree guy is.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Here, Tim, something your family does that drives you crazy.
- 1:30Speaker 5: Makes me the referee between them squabbling.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, well, Jed, she said this.
- 1:37Speaker 5: And yeah yeah yeah. It's always and I mean they're
- 1:41Speaker 5: all grown and gone and it still happens.
- 1:45Speaker 3: They call you on the phone. Yeah, oh yeah, so
- 1:48Speaker 3: one of you, one of them.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Will call you an unload, and then a few minutes
- 1:51Speaker 1: later another one will call you about the same thing
- 1:54Speaker 1: an unload right.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Right, or sometimes they call me in a group chat.
- 1:59Speaker 5: I mean it gets old.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Oh jeez, well, Tim, Tim, we just have to chalk
- 2:05Speaker 1: it up to the fact that everyone in your family
- 2:07Speaker 1: understands that you are the wisest person.
- 2:10Speaker 2: There you go, that's what it is.
- 2:11Speaker 5: Oh man, they are so deceived.
- 2:18Speaker 2: This sex pole makes me crazy watching the men and
- 2:22Speaker 2: team boys on my husband's side of the family sit
- 2:24Speaker 2: on their asses watching sports while the women cook and
- 2:27Speaker 2: clean at family functions. These are huge gatherings, sometimes fifty people.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I am not popular with the male teenagers. I make
- 2:34Speaker 2: them take an active part in cleaning up.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Come on, come on, Nate, it's a matter. They know
- 2:40Speaker 1: their place. That's the way it's supposed to be.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Isn't it. You women folk, you go into the kitchen
- 2:47Speaker 3: and take care of things. That's what Nick says. All right,
- 2:52Speaker 3: let's go to Richard.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Here's Richard.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Hi, Richard, what what is it? What's the story?
- 3:00Speaker 6: Okay, whenever you have a family dinner or something with
- 3:02Speaker 6: my dad, he always asked me, are you going to church?
- 3:05Speaker 6: Which I haven't gone for forty years, so.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Already he keeps hoping, hope spring's eternal.
- 3:12Speaker 1: No he's not. He's not hoping. He's trying to just
- 3:16Speaker 1: make you feel bad. Yeah, absolutely, which is really when
- 3:22Speaker 1: you think about it, it's kind of a crappy thing
- 3:25Speaker 1: for a father to do to his son.
- 3:27Speaker 2: But thank you, all right.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Richard, Thank you guys. My family uses our group chat
- 3:34Speaker 4: to talk to each other, but I don't need to
- 3:37Speaker 4: know you're cleaning out your garage, Julia.
- 3:45Speaker 2: In laws who feel the need to tattle one adult
- 3:48Speaker 2: baiting the other adult or ratting out the other adult
- 3:52Speaker 2: to the parent.
- 3:55Speaker 4: My family tells me I'm bossy, but then they all
- 3:59Speaker 4: want me to all their problems.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Let's at timd the tree guy situation.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah, my in laws will bite their forks when they eat.
- 4:05Speaker 2: It's awful, eh.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Like I can here, they meddle, right, My family celebrates
- 4:14Speaker 4: every single holiday and birthday together, and it gets irritated
- 4:18Speaker 4: and they get irritated if you don't make it. There's
- 4:20Speaker 4: like twenty seven of us now, yeah, oh yeah, just just.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Have events and say we're having this thing. If you
- 4:27Speaker 2: can come, great, If not, that's okay.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Mike, Hey, Mike, Why that's Mike.
- 4:35Speaker 7: I'm listening and off and enjoying the show.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 4:40Speaker 7: Uh. Something our teenagers do is complain about there's no
- 4:45Speaker 7: food in the house. You know, we just went shopping.
- 4:49Speaker 3: What they mean is there's nothing there that they like.
- 4:54Speaker 7: Right the pan, the pantry, and the freezers. First he
- 4:57Speaker 7: wants food, but there's no We have cheral boxes all
- 5:01Speaker 7: over and but there's no Hawk prepared food for me
- 5:05Speaker 7: right then and there.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a it's at that point you say, if
- 5:09Speaker 1: you want to eat, you have to learn to make
- 5:11Speaker 1: it yourself.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Yep, all right, thanks mikey, Mike. Let's go to Amy.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Hello, Amy, good morning morning.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Hi, go ahead, Hi.
- 5:27Speaker 6: So my family is late. Yeah where they go?
- 5:33Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, yes.
- 5:34Speaker 6: And my dad was late to everything so much so
- 5:39Speaker 6: that his doctors would schedule him for a They would
- 5:45Speaker 6: tell him a one o'clock appointment. Yeah, but it was
- 5:48Speaker 6: really a one thirty appointment.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Yeah, we had to do We had to do this
- 5:52Speaker 4: with my sister in law while we were traveling in
- 5:55Speaker 4: Korea and Japan, because we would tell her we're leaving
- 5:59Speaker 4: it seven and she would be ready at seven thirty.
- 6:02Speaker 4: So we started saying six thirty and then she was
- 6:06Speaker 4: at seven fifteen.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Excuse for that. I mean, everybody's late once in a while,
- 6:10Speaker 2: but chronically late that everybody knows you're always late.
- 6:14Speaker 3: That's that's not a pretty strange, right.
- 6:18Speaker 6: My dad also was the organist at church, and he
- 6:20Speaker 6: had to be there before everyone else, and he was
- 6:24Speaker 6: showing up five minutes after.
- 6:26Speaker 4: It started.
- 6:29Speaker 6: Frustrating.

- 6:42Speaker 4: something that your family members or family member does that
- 6:46Speaker 4: drives you crazy? Not political?
- 6:48Speaker 2: We have my brother in law will tell you something
- 6:51Speaker 2: followed by you know what I mean? In a five
- 6:53Speaker 2: minute conversation. You will hear that fifteen times. You know
- 6:56Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 6:56Speaker 3: You know what I mean? You know what I mean?
- 7:00Speaker 1: Eight seven seven six oh two nine six nine six anticipate.
- 7:04Speaker 4: I found the best way to counter that, and they
- 7:06Speaker 4: start to figure it out is yes, I do know what,
- 7:09Speaker 4: but you have to do it every every time I
- 7:11Speaker 4: say it, And then eventually they go, oh, oh, I guess.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Yeah. My father in law lives with us, and he
- 7:17Speaker 2: will get a candy or treat out of the treat drawer,
- 7:19Speaker 2: unwrap it and put the wrapper in the garbage and
- 7:22Speaker 2: then go in pockets on the counts and cushions. Drives
- 7:25Speaker 2: me nets. Oh, he won't put the wrapper in the garbage,
- 7:27Speaker 2: He'll put all the wraps in the cushions.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Yeah, oh okay, all right, Josephine.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Hello, good morning, good morning. What do you got for us?
- 7:38Speaker 8: So I can't stand it when my family sends out
- 7:41Speaker 8: a big group text message.
- 7:42Speaker 6: And everyone reacts with an emoji. You end up with
- 7:46Speaker 6: like twenty text messages.
- 7:50Speaker 2: We just assume that the thumbs up from everybody. How
- 7:53Speaker 2: about that you don't need fifteen thumbs ups from everyone?
- 7:58Speaker 6: That's exactly it.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, thank you, Josephine.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Eight seven seven six oh two nine six nine six.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I had a family member again, this is a long
- 8:10Speaker 1: time ago, but so so we sit down to a
- 8:13Speaker 1: big family dinner in their big communal plates of food
- 8:16Speaker 1: or dishes castural dishes, and and this person would always
- 8:20Speaker 1: take so much that there wasn't.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Enough left for all. That's rude. Yeah, just always load
- 8:27Speaker 3: up his plate. And then.
- 8:31Speaker 2: My wife wanting to have deep intense conversations while we're
- 8:34Speaker 2: watching a movie. So she has no clue what's going on.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, let's see. Uh, my family can and
- 8:44Speaker 4: does turn everything religious. Oh my little family is not
- 8:48Speaker 4: religious at all. So when my whole family meet for
- 8:51Speaker 4: gatherings or events, said events begin with and end with
- 8:56Speaker 4: a prayer. Let's see, dates of either are even scheduled
- 9:01Speaker 4: around religious holidays to keep and remember what is the
- 9:05Speaker 4: most important. It gets old. Yeah, and the treatment is
- 9:08Speaker 4: not reciprocated.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Ye, because I love my mom, but spending time with her,
- 9:13Speaker 2: she's notorious about trying to make future plans together. As
- 9:16Speaker 2: I'm leaving, just text me or call me later. Your
- 9:19Speaker 2: mom just wants to see you again.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Let's see line two. Let's go to line two. It
- 9:25Speaker 3: is Sarah, Hello, Sarah, Hi, Sarah, where are you calling from?
- 9:30Speaker 5: Sandy?
- 9:30Speaker 3: Okay, what's your family do that drives you crazy?
- 9:35Speaker 6: My husband's family. I love them, they're so sweet, but
- 9:37Speaker 6: they struggle with their They're they're too too too where
- 9:40Speaker 6: where like all of them like, please figure it out.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Come on, I get it.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Yeah, drive you crazy.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I can't stand that either. Thank you, thank you.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 9:53Speaker 4: My parents love to refer to their neighbors as if
- 9:56Speaker 4: I know who they are. You are I moved out
- 9:59Speaker 4: when I was sixteen, and no, I don't know mister Simmons,
- 10:02Speaker 4: and I don't care what his daughter is up to.
- 10:06Speaker 4: That's fine.
- 10:07Speaker 2: As the only child not married or living at home,
- 10:10Speaker 2: no one tells me anything big event coming up. I
- 10:12Speaker 2: find out a few days before changeing plans. Well I'm
- 10:15Speaker 2: last to know. Someone dies, get engaged, pregnant, I'm.
- 10:18Speaker 3: The last taken. Then ye Jay is here? Hi Jay, Hi?
- 10:24Speaker 3: What's what's your story here?
- 10:28Speaker 8: So my husband, when we're watching the movie, he will
- 10:31Speaker 8: narrate the whole movie.
- 10:33Speaker 7: Yah.
- 10:35Speaker 9: Yeah, knocking on the door and then the man he
- 10:42Speaker 9: just went through the door and wait, wait, j are
- 10:46Speaker 9: you blind?
- 10:47Speaker 3: Yeah? He justes he tell you what is he trying
- 10:50Speaker 3: to help?
- 10:50Speaker 8: That's what I tell him. We're not watching Old Town
- 10:55Speaker 8: or our town.
- 10:56Speaker 3: I just need to watch the show. Why why does
- 11:00Speaker 3: he do this.
- 11:02Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Why I don't know, and why after all this time?
- 11:06Speaker 3: How long is the love of God? Doesn't he's how
- 11:09Speaker 3: long has it been?
- 11:12Speaker 8: Well, we've been together three years and.
- 11:15Speaker 4: He's still doing it.
- 11:18Speaker 2: He's still try this.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Say all right, we're gonna watch a movie. Let's sit
- 11:21Speaker 4: down and watch this movie. Oh wait, before we do,
- 11:24Speaker 4: then pull out some duct tape or a sock and
- 11:27Speaker 4: put it on his mouth and go, okay, I'm ready
- 11:29Speaker 4: to watch the movie.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Now here's a sock. I want you to put this
- 11:32Speaker 3: starm out.
- 11:34Speaker 8: That's that's it. When but when he tells a story,
- 11:42Speaker 8: then he'll say in other words, at the end of
- 11:45Speaker 8: the story and then explain it to me differently.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Maybe you didn't get it that way, so let me
- 11:52Speaker 2: try it another way.
- 11:54Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 11:54Speaker 8: So yeah, so truck is our president and I was
- 11:59Speaker 8: just trying to is an example anyway. But yeah, he'll
- 12:02Speaker 8: tell a story and then he'll say and in other words.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Jay, I I don't I don't really have much hope
- 12:09Speaker 3: for this. Mary, I would suggest to you.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Utah divorcenow dot com ask for Wade.
- 12:18Speaker 8: Oh thanks you guys, I love you. I'm calling from Sparks, Nevada. Ohude,
- 12:24Speaker 8: I miss you guys so much.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Still listen, So you're you're stuck in Sparks, Nevada, or
- 12:32Speaker 1: in other words, you've gone to spark all right.
- 12:36Speaker 4: See La, let's see leave the bathroom door open while
- 12:41Speaker 4: they do their business.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Oh, don't do that.
- 12:44Speaker 4: It's your business and should be private, and I don't
- 12:46Speaker 4: want my nose in your business.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Literally, somebody says, when my mom doesn't have anything else
- 12:51Speaker 2: to talk about, she says, that's my story and I'm
- 12:54Speaker 2: sticking to it.
- 12:57Speaker 4: My eighty five year old father drives like he's in
- 13:00Speaker 4: gas car, one hand on the wheel, one hovering between
- 13:03Speaker 4: the brights and the horn. You've heard of defensive driving.
- 13:07Speaker 4: My pop is an offensive driver. Is driving offends my spouse's.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Entire family talks with their mouths full at the dinner table.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Where are your.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Let's see, let's see my Mormon sister who was only
- 13:24Speaker 4: able to converse in rosy platitudes and has no idea
- 13:27Speaker 4: how she herself actually thinks or feels about the subject.
- 13:31Speaker 4: My mother always says, did you pray about it?
- 13:36Speaker 3: This one says.
- 13:36Speaker 2: My mother only calls me to get info on my brother,
- 13:39Speaker 2: who went no contact with her over a year ago.
- 13:42Speaker 2: She never gets any, but she keeps trying.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Let's see, we have two bins, one for trash and
- 13:49Speaker 4: one for recycling. When the recycle bin is full, they
- 13:52Speaker 4: just start stacking junk on top of the bin, folding boxes.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Oh that's funny.
- 13:58Speaker 1: You know, I'm sitting here thinking of all the things
- 14:01Speaker 1: that I do that must drive my wife crazy.
- 14:04Speaker 3: That I know drive my wife crazy. Having that made
- 14:07Speaker 3: me divorce. Now having to know so.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I had to I have to very often say is
- 14:14Speaker 1: this recyclable? Because I really there are some genuine there
- 14:20Speaker 1: are some things that I'm kind of iffy on.
- 14:22Speaker 2: That's not that's not bad.
- 14:24Speaker 4: I mean, we have to get one of our trash
- 14:26Speaker 4: men who listened to weigh in on it. But as
- 14:28Speaker 4: I recall, it's only number one or number there are.
- 14:31Speaker 2: It's fewer things than you think that they are.
- 14:33Speaker 1: And there there are certain certain kinds of cardboard that
- 14:37Speaker 1: are not recyclable.
- 14:38Speaker 3: You know, they've got a coating.
- 14:40Speaker 1: On them versus shiny the shiny cart. But there are
- 14:43Speaker 1: certain things I'm just iffy about.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Well I am guilty of.
- 14:48Speaker 4: You know, people have tupperware, we have glass instead.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Of the plastic.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I I apparently do not stack them properly, the.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Big one on the bottom and then the smaller ones.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, apparently, I'm just you can learn. I
- 15:04Speaker 4: suppose why didn't you? Then I'd have to pull them
- 15:07Speaker 4: all out and start over, you know.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Yeah. Anyway, all right, well there's the expole.
- 15:13Speaker 2: We'll move that to social media. I'm sure there are
- 15:16Speaker 2: many more contributions.
- 15:17Speaker 4: There's a ton of texts coming in, but we're out
- 15:20Speaker 4: of time.
- 15:20Speaker 3: In other words, we don't have any more time for
- 15:24Speaker 3: the ex pole.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Know me, That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
