- 0:30all right? I am your GM who currently is not
- 0:32on a team right now, but don't you worry about
- 0:34it, all right? Don't you worry about it because
- 0:36I'm your chief bag road dominance, all right?
- 0:39Chief, head of the table, anything and everything
- 0:41related to the bag, rumors to the bag and more,
- 0:43but guess what? I'm all... these things and more
- 0:46but most importantly the most important thing
- 0:48that you must remember is i am your host kale
- 0:51i know it's been a while but i still got the
- 0:53juice and i can still go toe -to -toe with any
- 0:55and every other podcaster that you can name i
- 0:58can do it because i'm that guy so guess what
- 1:01on three one two three let's lock in All right,
- 1:30folks, let's get into the meat and potatoes of
- 1:32everything that is going on in the league right
- 1:34now. So I know it's been a while. You guys are
- 1:37probably wondering what's going on. Nothing is
- 1:39going on. The last time I tried to put out an
- 1:41episode, it just wasn't that good. I was really
- 1:44tired. And I was like, you know what? Instead
- 1:48of me trying to push through this episode, and
- 1:50I know it's not going to be the best to my standards,
- 1:53I'll just take a break, recharge. And then when
- 1:56I come back, we're back in the race. And while
- 2:00I was going, I do have a few ideas that I think
- 2:02I'm probably going to start rolling out fairly
- 2:04soon. Just have to figure out how I want to do
- 2:07it while incorporating the daily episodes that
- 2:10I give you guys as well. So with that being said,
- 2:13let's get into football because I have a lot
- 2:15to say because a lot of time has passed. Let's
- 2:19get into it, all right? So let's start with the
- 2:20Eagles and Giants game. So Jackson Dart, 25 attempts
- 2:23for 17 completions, 195 passing yards, one touchdown,
- 2:277 .8 yards per attempt, and a 68 completion percentage.
- 2:31Cam Scadavo, 19 attempts for 98 rushing yards,
- 2:345 .2 rushing yards per carry, three touchdowns,
- 2:36and four rushes of 10 plus yards or more. Wondell
- 2:39Robinson, seven targets for six receptions, 84
- 2:42receiving yards, one touchdown, and 14 receiving
- 2:45yards per reception. Jalen Hurts. 33 attempts
- 2:48for 24 completions, 283 passing yards, one touchdown,
- 2:52one pick, 8 .6 yards per attempt, and a 72 .7
- 2:56completion percentage. Saquon Barkley, 12 attempts
- 2:59for 58 rushing yards, 4 .8 rushing yards per
- 3:01carry, and 3 rushes of 10 plus yards or more.
- 3:05Dallas Goddard, 11 targets for 9 receptions,
- 3:07110 receiving yards, 1 touchdown, and 12 .2 receiving
- 3:11yards per reception. So a couple takeaways from
- 3:13this game. For starters, Jackson Dart is going
- 3:15to be the reason why the Giants have a chance
- 3:17to have a better season than what they did last
- 3:19year. I understand that he's a rookie. I understand
- 3:23that he's going to make mistakes. I understand
- 3:25there's going to be highs and lows throughout
- 3:27this entire season. But if Jackson Dark can do
- 3:30at least 50 % of what he did against the Eagles
- 3:33for the rest of the season, they have a chance
- 3:35because the defense is formidable. All they need
- 3:39is just the offense to just be a little bit better.
- 3:42I'm not saying the offense has to be elite, but
- 3:44if they're average to slightly above average,
- 3:47I think that's enough. Let's be real here, folks.
- 3:50The Giants are in a good situation. I think with
- 3:53what Jackson Dart showed, I think that's something
- 3:56that you can hang your hat on. And mind you,
- 3:59he did this without Malik Nabors. He did this
- 4:02with Wanda Robinson, Jalen Hyatt, Theo Johnson,
- 4:05and Cam Scadabo. Think about that for a second.
- 4:08Now, I know all the Eagles fans are saying, well,
- 4:10we didn't have Jalen Carter on the field, and
- 4:13Quinion Mitchell was out, and this person was
- 4:16hurt, and that person was hurt. There's no excuses
- 4:19because you know why? Everybody is dealing with
- 4:22some type of injury at this point in the season.
- 4:24It's either you put up or you shut up, plain
- 4:27and simple. And the fact of the matter is Jackson
- 4:30Dart put up and shut up the Eagles. Now, am I
- 4:34saying that Jackson Dart is going to, you know,
- 4:37beat the Eagles the next time they face each
- 4:39other? No, but I will say this. He ain't just
- 4:43no average quarterback. He got a little fight
- 4:47in him. He got a little dog in him. And I like
- 4:49to see that. Now, I'll be honest with you. Leading
- 4:52up to this past draft, I wasn't high on Jackson
- 4:55Dart. I thought Jackson Dart was very average
- 4:58quarterback. There wasn't anything in his repertoire
- 5:02that I felt like, okay, this is a franchise quarterback.
- 5:05But what he showed on Thursday, I can rock with
- 5:08that. Now, let's talk about the Giants defense,
- 5:10okay? So for starters, that defensive line is
- 5:13formidable. I would make a strong case that that's
- 5:15probably a top five defensive line in the league.
- 5:18Not in their division, but in their league. They
- 5:21have to find a way to keep that core. And for
- 5:24all the people that were saying, well, the Giants
- 5:26had traded away Dexter Lawrence or Kayvon Thibodeau,
- 5:29now they draft Abdul Carter. No. You have to
- 5:33find a way to keep that core. Because that core
- 5:36is successful, and there are stats that actually
- 5:38back it up. So according to NextGenStats, When
- 5:41Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeau, and Abdul Carter
- 5:44are all on the field, the Giants pressure the
- 5:47quarterback 45 .7 % of their dropbacks. When
- 5:51two of the three pass rushers are on the field,
- 5:54the pressure rate drops to 32 .1 % and the dropback
- 5:58success rate increases to 46 .8%. And I don't
- 6:03want to hear from any Eagles fan that says, well,
- 6:05they went up against a beat -up offensive line.
- 6:08Let's see if they try to do that when everybody
- 6:10is healthy. Stop it, okay? This is not Madden.
- 6:13This isn't something where you can take out one
- 6:16person and you put somebody in and now they're
- 6:18gonna play healthy the entire game. No, people
- 6:21get hurt. This is real life, okay? So relax.
- 6:24Now let's talk about the Eagles. So for starters,
- 6:26the offense lacks creativity, explosiveness,
- 6:28and consistency. Granted, I understand they have
- 6:31a new offensive coordinator and things take time,
- 6:33but what is going on? Because all I keep on hearing
- 6:36is cookie cutter bull from a lot of these offensive
- 6:39leaders. When somebody needs to be saying, hey,
- 6:43this offense ain't right. We need to get something
- 6:46going here. Because again, you are about to approach
- 6:49the middle point of the season. And if your offense
- 6:52isn't comfortable at this point, what are we
- 6:55doing? I understand that you guys don't have
- 6:59a lot of your starting offensive linemen. I understand
- 7:01that you're going up against a really good defensive
- 7:04line. But there is no excuse for this offense
- 7:07to not be where it's supposed to be. And I put
- 7:10a lot of this on Jalen Hurts. You had two people
- 7:14that you could have easily thrown to that you
- 7:16could have won the game with. But you didn't
- 7:19want to do it. Why? I don't know. A .J. Brown
- 7:22had the leverage. So all you had to do was just
- 7:25give him the ball. It was a guaranteed catch
- 7:26and touchdown. Same thing with Dallas Goddard.
- 7:30He was guaranteed to get a first down. So why
- 7:33in the world would you not look at them first
- 7:35before giving it to Devontae Smith, which led
- 7:39to a pick six? This is something that I said
- 7:42with my friends as well as Corey from the Get
- 7:44It Done With Four podcast. Shout out to him.
- 7:47If you're a Commanders fan, Eagles fan, Cowboys
- 7:50fan, Giants fan, you should listen to his podcast
- 7:52because he gives a really in -depth analysis
- 7:55on your division. The offensive coordinator problem
- 7:58will be the reason why A .J. Brown and Devontae
- 8:01Smith want to leave. As an offensive coordinator,
- 8:04anytime you're on a loaded offense like the Eagles,
- 8:07your job is to find creative ways to utilize
- 8:10your weapons. And if you can't utilize them in
- 8:14a special way, you just don't need to be an offensive
- 8:16coordinator. And I understand that this is Nick
- 8:19Sirianni's friend, he's known him a long time,
- 8:22but clearly he doesn't know what he's doing.
- 8:24And I understand some people are saying, well,
- 8:26you got to give it time. You got to be patient.
- 8:28You know, sometimes you got to go through trial
- 8:31by fire. No, because right now the Buccaneers
- 8:35are going to be a problem. The Lions are still
- 8:38going to be a problem. There's a few other NFC
- 8:40teams that you're going to have to worry about.
- 8:42So you can't continue to lose these type of games
- 8:45when you know you have the weapons to beat the
- 8:49other team. That doesn't make any sense. You
- 8:51cannot give the type of money that you just gave
- 8:54to Saquon and think, oh, we're really not going
- 8:57to use him like how we should use him. No. 12
- 8:59attempts for 58 rushing yards? That's not good
- 9:02enough. 4 .8 rushing yards per carry? And you
- 9:06only have three rushes of 10 plus yards or more?
- 9:08No. I understand that the defensive line is loaded,
- 9:12but you as the offensive coordinator need to
- 9:15find a creative way on how to utilize Saquon
- 9:18Barkley. And you didn't do it. Better yet. Since
- 9:21we're talking about the offense, let's talk about
- 9:23what Lane Johnson had to say after the game.
- 9:26Because it's very important to know what he said.
- 9:30Because he's one of the tenured veterans on this
- 9:33team. Not just on the offense, on the entire
- 9:35team. This is what he said, and I quote, I felt
- 9:39like a lot of what we did last year was run play
- 9:41action, and it kind of fed off of each other.
- 9:44And defenses had a real hard time of guessing
- 9:46what it was going to be. And I think the last
- 9:48two weeks, you kind of know what it is. You know
- 9:51when the pass is coming. You know when the run
- 9:52is coming. Moving forward, we've got to do a
- 9:55better job of that. There's flashes, but flashes
- 9:58don't score points. It's about consistency. We
- 10:01have spurts, but nothing consistent enough. We
- 10:05have things we talk about, but the execution
- 10:07isn't there. We get behind the chains. We get
- 10:10very predictable sometimes. It's frustrating,
- 10:12but we have a lot of season ahead of us. confident
- 10:15with the guys in the room to get it fixed, and
- 10:17not make games so hard on ourselves, make it
- 10:20more fluid. I feel like we've been very stagnant
- 10:23offensively. We have to be able to keep the defenses
- 10:26guessing, not being predictable. We have spurts,
- 10:30but nothing consistent with what we're doing.
- 10:32I feel like last year we had big shots, big explosives
- 10:36that we were able to feed off of on our drives.
- 10:39We have some, but we're not able to capitalize
- 10:42on them. We may have a huge play, but we're not
- 10:45able to keep going and score. We were winning
- 10:48in the first month, but we weren't dominating.
- 10:50It's frustrating. You see the guys that we have
- 10:53on the offensive side of the ball. We should
- 10:55be doing a lot more to help our defense out.
- 10:58It's frustrating, but nothing we can't turn around,
- 11:00end quote. Everything that I just said, Lane
- 11:03Johnson just backed it up. You can tell that
- 11:06this offense is not the same. You can tell that...
- 11:10It went from being a more creative, multidimensional
- 11:14type of offense to a borderline, one -dimensional
- 11:17type of offense. That's not going to win you
- 11:19games. That's not going to put points on the
- 11:22board. And you can't continue to rely on the
- 11:25defense to bail you out of games. At some point,
- 11:28the offense is going to have to do its thing.
- 11:30Jeffrey Lurie isn't going to continue to write
- 11:33checks for big offensive weapons and the offensive
- 11:37weapons aren't being utilized. It's already bad
- 11:40enough that A .J. Brown doesn't want to be there.
- 11:42It's already bad enough that you have a little
- 11:45bit of friction on other parts of this offense.
- 11:48But the fact that you guys can't put points on
- 11:51the board against a team like the Giants? Come
- 11:55on. What are we doing here? Now, when we talk
- 11:57about the defense for the Eagles, there's a lot
- 12:00of things that could be said. But I think the
- 12:02number one thing that needs to be addressed is
- 12:05corner. I understand they have Quinion Mitchell.
- 12:08I understand they have Cooper DeGene and the
- 12:10Dory Jackson, Kelly Ringo. Howie, get on the
- 12:13phone. Call the Seahawks. Trade for Tyreek Wood.
- 12:16Because the Dory Jackson is not going to solve
- 12:18it. Kelly Ringo ain't going to solve it. Wondell
- 12:21Robinson had a career night. Jalen Hyatt, a name
- 12:26that we haven't talked about in years, looked
- 12:29really good. Theo Johnson looked really good.
- 12:33Cam Scadabo looked really good. And I understand,
- 12:36oh, we didn't have Jalen Carter and we don't
- 12:38have this person, that person. No excuses. Because
- 12:42you have to be able to find a way to win games
- 12:44even without Jalen Carter. You still have Jordan
- 12:47Davis. You still have Mario Jomo. You just drafted
- 12:51Ty Robinson. You had Zedarius before he unexpectedly
- 12:54retired. So what exactly isn't clicking? And
- 12:58speaking of pass rusher, the Eagles are going
- 13:00to need that as well. Because right now, we don't
- 13:04know when Noah Smith is coming back. I don't
- 13:06know if Zach Bond is hurt or not. So you're going
- 13:09to need other pass rushers to step up. And you
- 13:12trade away Bryce Huff. You let Josh Sweat go
- 13:15in free agency, which, I mean, you wouldn't be
- 13:17able to afford him anyway. But you're going to
- 13:19have to make some significant trades to bolster
- 13:22up this defense. So Matthew Stafford, 26 attempts
- 13:25for 17 completions. 181 passing yards, 1 touchdown,
- 13:297 yards per attempt, and a 65 .4 completion percentage.
- 13:33Kyron Williams, 13 attempts for 50 rushing yards,
- 13:363 .8 rushing yards per carry, 1 touchdown, and
- 13:391 rush of 10 plus yards or more. Tyler Higby,
- 13:424 targets for 4 receptions, 40 receiving yards,
- 13:451 touchdown, and 10 receiving yards per reception.
- 13:48Cooper Rush, 19 attempts for 11 completions,
- 13:5172 passing yards, one pick, 3 .8 yards per attempt,
- 13:55and a 57 .9 completion percentage. Tyler Huntley,
- 13:5815 attempts for 10 completions, 68 passing yards,
- 14:024 .5 yards per attempt, and a 66 .7 completion
- 14:06percentage. Derrick Henry, 24 attempts for 122
- 14:10rushing yards, 5 .1 rushing yards per carry,
- 14:13and four rushes of 10 plus yards or more. Zay
- 14:15Flowers. 10 targets for six receptions, 46 receiving
- 14:19yards, 7 .7 receiving yards per reception. So
- 14:23a couple of things with this game, all right?
- 14:24For starters, I feel like the Ravens should have
- 14:27relied more on the run game than the pass game.
- 14:30I just feel like personally, if you're gonna
- 14:32go with Cooper Rush, keep a very strict plan.
- 14:36Short intermediate passes, play action, and most
- 14:40importantly, run the damn ball. If you do those
- 14:44three things, You're guaranteed to win. Because
- 14:48you have Keaton Mitchell and Derrick Henry. You
- 14:50have Lightning and Thunder. And you also have
- 14:53Justice Hill as well. So anytime Cooper Rush
- 14:57has the ball in his hand, yo, we are not doing
- 15:00anything past 15 yards. So all that deep ball
- 15:03action, it's out the window. All you're trying
- 15:06to do is just get to the bye. Because let's be
- 15:09real here. The Rams didn't play a good game as
- 15:11well. They were very sloppy on defense. offense,
- 15:15and in special teams. So this was a very winnable
- 15:18game for the Ravens. But once again, what did
- 15:21they do? They flop. But let's talk about the
- 15:23defense. So for starters, I feel like they left
- 15:26a lot of meat on the bone. And the reason why
- 15:28I say that is because there were a lot of times
- 15:31where they could have made some big plays and
- 15:33they didn't. So I feel like, yes, the defense
- 15:36is starting to maybe fix their problems, but
- 15:40I don't feel confident in the Ravens. I don't
- 15:45feel confident on their trajectory right now
- 15:48because right now I truly believe this is not
- 15:50going to be their year. And if they don't go
- 15:53anywhere this year, John Harbaugh has to go.
- 15:56Because right now you are wasting the prime years
- 15:59of Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Roquan Smith,
- 16:03Kyle Hamilton, Nate Wiggins, and everybody else
- 16:06you can possibly think of. I'm sorry. This team
- 16:10has invested too much money, time, resources,
- 16:14you name it. They've invested way too much just
- 16:17for this team not to make it to the Super Bowl
- 16:20and win. At some point, either you can do the
- 16:24job or you can't. Because guess what? Most likely
- 16:28who you're going to have to face in the playoffs,
- 16:30the Chiefs or the Bills or other. Now, right
- 16:35now, I'll be completely honest with you. Even
- 16:39though I should save this for the Bills game,
- 16:41the Bills don't look strong. The Bills look very
- 16:45beatable this year. And right now, you've already
- 16:48lost to three AFC teams. So when the seeding
- 16:51comes around, that's going to negatively affect
- 16:54you. So right now, you're fighting an uphill
- 16:57battle trying to at least bring some confidence
- 17:01back in. So what exactly are you going to do
- 17:04to turn this thing around? Because you still
- 17:08have a lot of games left, so anything can happen.
- 17:11But at the same time, if you're not willing to
- 17:14make changes, then that's a problem. Daniel Folele
- 17:18and Andrew Voorhees is a problem. You have Kevin
- 17:22Zeidler that's available. You have the Browns
- 17:24guards that are available. There are viable options
- 17:27that you could trade for right now that would
- 17:30instantly upgrade this offense and this team
- 17:33as a whole. So I don't understand what Eric DaCosta
- 17:36is doing, but right now it just looks like you're
- 17:39just sitting on your hands and just waiting.
- 17:41So at some point, someone's going to have to
- 17:44ask the tough questions. John, can you do the
- 17:47job? Can you turn this team around? Because I've
- 17:51seen Mike Tomlin do this multiple times in the
- 17:53last three years. I've seen him do this without
- 17:56TJ Watt. I've seen him do this with different
- 17:58quarterbacks from Justin Fields to Russell Wilson,
- 18:02now Aaron Rodgers. So why can't you do it, John,
- 18:05when you have a better, more complete roster
- 18:08than what Mike Tomlin does? I'm going to say
- 18:11that when we talk about gut check time, okay?
- 18:14Just giving you guys a heads up, after the trade
- 18:17deadline, we'll have gut check time. Until then,
- 18:20I'm not saying anything else. I'm going to give
- 18:23you the most basic of the basic for every single
- 18:26team moving forward. Once the trade deadline
- 18:29ends, best believe that episode is going to have
- 18:32a gut check time for all the teams. So it may
- 18:36be a long episode, but don't worry, it's on the
- 18:38way. Now let's talk about the Rams. The Rams
- 18:41played sloppy. There were a lot of times where
- 18:44they were off sides. There were a lot of times
- 18:46where they were just making unnecessary penalties
- 18:48and it was hurting them. And they just weren't
- 18:52playing like how the Rams are supposed to play.
- 18:55So I don't know if they're just going through
- 18:58their bumps and bruises. I don't know if they're
- 19:01trying to get themselves comfortable. I don't
- 19:03know what's going on with the Rams. But you need
- 19:05to get your act together, okay? Because this
- 19:08could possibly be the last year for Matthew Stafford.
- 19:11Now, defensively, I do believe they need to go
- 19:14after some corners. Because right now, Emmanuel
- 19:16Forbes and Akella Weatherspoon just isn't enough.
- 19:19I feel like they need to go after a veteran corner.
- 19:22I don't know who's out there that you could really
- 19:25make a trade for. I mean, anybody that would
- 19:28be available will probably be in the NFC. And
- 19:30I don't know if they're going to be willing to
- 19:32do that. But you're going to have to do something.
- 19:34And another thing that we have to talk about
- 19:36with this game. the Ravens' defensive line was
- 19:39not creating any pressure on Matthew Stafford.
- 19:42According to NextGenStats, Matthew Stafford was
- 19:46pressured on four of his 29 dropbacks at 13 .8%.
- 19:50That's the second lowest pressure rate he's faced
- 19:54in a game since 2018. Now, I really want you
- 19:57to think about this for a second here, folks.
- 19:59The Ravens traded away Adafi away not too long
- 20:02ago, and he gets a sack in his first game with
- 20:06the Chargers. Since that trade, the Ravens haven't
- 20:09done anything significant with pass rushers.
- 20:13Granted, you have Mike Green, you have Kyle Van
- 20:15Nooy, you have Travis Jones, Tavius Robinson.
- 20:18It's not enough. I don't know what Zach Lawrence
- 20:21is teaching them, but they're not getting after
- 20:23the quarterback. And that's a problem. Mike Green
- 20:26has all the potential in the world. I keep on
- 20:29saying this and I will continue to say this from
- 20:31the mountaintops. Mike Green could be the Ravens
- 20:34version of TJ Watt for all we know. But we would
- 20:38never know because why? The Ravens don't know
- 20:41how to use their pass rushers. The Ravens pass
- 20:43rushers can never get home. And this is a repeated
- 20:47trend that we have seen for the last few years.
- 20:50Every pass rusher that they have had do so much
- 20:54better when they leave the Ravens. Matthew Judon,
- 20:57Z'Darrius Smith, potentially Adafio Wake. I can
- 21:00continue to go down the list. The last great
- 21:03pass rusher that the Ravens actually developed
- 21:05was Terrell Suggs. Since then, what have they
- 21:09done? But I'm going to save that for gut check
- 21:12time. I'm not going to go any further because
- 21:14if I do, I'm just going to continue to go down
- 21:16this wormhole of why the Ravens will never win
- 21:19a Super Bowl with John Harbaugh and this coaching
- 21:23staff. I don't really want to do that right now.
- 21:24I want to save that for gut check time, all right?
- 21:26Because a lot can happen from now until then,
- 21:29all right? So let's talk about the Steelers.
- 21:30So Dylan Gabriel, 52 attempts for 29 completions,
- 21:33221 passing yards, 4 .3 yards per attempt, and
- 21:37a 55 .8 completion percentage. Quenshawn Junkins,
- 21:4012 attempts for 36 rushing yards, 3 rushing yards
- 21:43per carry. Harold Fannin Jr., 10 targets for
- 21:477 receptions, 81 receiving yards, and 11 .6 receiving
- 21:50yards per receptions. Aaron Rodgers, 30 attempts
- 21:53for 21 completions, 235 passing yards, 2 touchdowns,
- 21:577 .8 yards per attempt, and a 70 % completion
- 22:00percentage. Jalen Warren. 11 attempts for 52
- 22:03rushing yards, 4 .7 rushing yards per carry,
- 22:06and three rushes of 10 plus yards or more. DK
- 22:09Metcalf, nine targets for four receptions, 95
- 22:12receiving yards, one touchdown, and 23 .8 receiving
- 22:15yards per reception. So before we get into this
- 22:17game, I just need to have a public service announcement
- 22:20for all the Steelers fans, beat writers, and
- 22:22journalists, okay? Roderick Jones didn't lock
- 22:25up Myles Garrett, okay? So for all you beat writers,
- 22:30for all you journalists, for all you so -called
- 22:32people that cover the team that have been making
- 22:35articles and tweets and posts on social media
- 22:38saying, well, Roger Jones locked up Miles Garrett.
- 22:41No, he didn't. Instead, Arthur Smith schemed
- 22:45up a good game plan to counteract Miles Garrett's
- 22:48effectiveness. All they did was just not go in
- 22:53Miles Garrett direction. They were utilizing
- 22:56Darnell Washington a lot. They were running up
- 22:58the middle. They were doing different things
- 23:00to negate Myles Garrett. It's the same thing
- 23:03that teams do against TJ Watt and every other
- 23:05great pass rusher. So can we please stop? Especially
- 23:10media people who cover the Steelers. You guys,
- 23:15and I will continue to say this, and I said this
- 23:18on somebody's YouTube video. It's one thing if
- 23:23a fan... Can fanboy over Broderick Jones and
- 23:27the Miles Garrett and that whole Steelers and
- 23:29Ravens rivalry. Okay, fine. I have no problem
- 23:31with that because you know why? You guys are
- 23:33fans. Fans is short for fanatics. But if you
- 23:37are a person who covers the team, if you are
- 23:41a journalist slash beat writer that covers the
- 23:44team, you should not be pushing out your personal
- 23:47agendas. Talking about, well, Project Jones is
- 23:50looking pretty good. Project Jones, Project Jones.
- 23:53Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers. Oh, my God, the
- 23:56stairs are going through. They're going to do
- 23:58something this year. I remember clear as day
- 24:01those first three weeks of the season when Aaron
- 24:04Rodgers was actually doing his thing. I saw journalists
- 24:07who covered the team talk about, well, it was
- 24:10worth the wait. It was worth the wait. It was
- 24:15worth getting Aaron Rodgers. So far, it looks
- 24:18like it's a great idea. It's the first three
- 24:20weeks of the season. What are we talking about?
- 24:22You get a little chubby for just three weeks
- 24:25of football? Are you serious? Really? Three weeks,
- 24:31and you're already talking about, well, it was
- 24:33worth the wait. Stop it. Stop it. You are a journalist.
- 24:38There is a standard that you must abide by. So
- 24:43all that fanboying and whatnot. Leave that for
- 24:45the burner accounts and the restaurant talk and
- 24:48the barbershop talk. Don't do that when that's
- 24:51your job. You're J -O -B. Now that I've got that
- 24:56off my chest, let's talk about some football.
- 24:58So offensively, what is there to say that hasn't
- 25:01already been said? This Browns offense isn't
- 25:04cutting it. If you really expect Dylan Gabriel
- 25:06to turn mud into gold, I don't know what to tell
- 25:10you. Because all he has is what? Isaiah Bond,
- 25:13Jerry Judy. Quinn Sean -Junkins, Damon Njoku,
- 25:17Harold Fannin Jr. That's it. You don't have a
- 25:20good offensive line, and you're going up against
- 25:23a team who's coming off a bye, whose head coach
- 25:26has a winning record against rookies, and you're
- 25:30playing in a place that you haven't won since
- 25:33the early 2000s. So leading up to this game,
- 25:37you had little to no momentum in your favor.
- 25:42And as the game continued on, all the momentum
- 25:45that you did have just went down and down and
- 25:50down. I didn't expect Quinshawn Junkins to do
- 25:54a whole lot. I didn't expect the receivers to
- 25:56do a whole lot. The Steelers were playing their
- 25:59type of ball. Physical, punch you in the face,
- 26:03run the rock hard, and just put points on the
- 26:05board. And that's exactly what they did. Now,
- 26:08defensively, the Browns tried to stay in the
- 26:11game. But it just wasn't enough, especially when
- 26:14you have Arthur Smith, who purposely schemed
- 26:17up a game plan to negate Myles Garrett. So I'll
- 26:21be honest, I wasn't expecting the Browns to win.
- 26:24I wasn't expecting this game to be even close.
- 26:27Honestly speaking, they probably should have
- 26:30just kept Joe Flacco. If they had Joe Flacco
- 26:34on the field, then I think we could have a different
- 26:37conversation. But because you traded him to the
- 26:40Bengals, Not so much. But before we talk about
- 26:43the Steelers, I have to give credit where credit
- 26:45is due. Mike Tomlin looks like a genius right
- 26:49now. You traded for Jalen Ramsey, a person that
- 26:52a lot of people were saying, oh, he's a head
- 26:55case. He's going to be a problem in the locker
- 26:57room. And so far, there haven't been no problems.
- 27:00You waited for Aaron Rodgers, even though. I
- 27:03said it during that entire process. You can look
- 27:06at my previous episodes. I was 100 % against
- 27:09waiting for Aaron Rodgers. But so far, it looks
- 27:14like it's working. The Aaron Rodgers that we
- 27:16saw with the Jets and the Packers, you don't
- 27:19see that here. You see somebody that's focused,
- 27:22that's locked in, that's been a ray of sunshine
- 27:26for this offense. And I think that's great. And
- 27:29I think that just shows that, hey, being in a
- 27:33different situation sometimes can bring the best
- 27:36out of you. People can change. Sometimes you're
- 27:39in a really crappy, toxic situation for a season
- 27:44or two, and then you go to another team, and
- 27:46you have your best year. And so right now, Aaron
- 27:50Rodgers is looking really good. Now, am I saying
- 27:53that the Steelers are going to go to the Super
- 27:54Bowl this year? No. I'm not going to say anything.
- 27:58Mind you, I really haven't said anything like
- 28:00how I did last year. Last year, I'll be honest.
- 28:04Mook, you know what I'm getting ready to say.
- 28:06I was drinking from the cup. I was taking big
- 28:09gulps of the cup last year. But this year, no.
- 28:14I'm going to let things play out. I'm going to
- 28:16wait until we face the Colts, the Bills, and
- 28:20the Packers. If we can beat two of those three
- 28:23teams, then I may start talking my stuff. But
- 28:27until we reach that point, I'm not saying anything.
- 28:29But back to football. This was a really good
- 28:33game plan for the Steelers. Sure, I want the
- 28:36run game to be a little bit better. Sure, I want
- 28:38them to convert on their third down. Sure, I
- 28:40want them to attack the middle of the field more.
- 28:42Sure, I want them to start passing it to Pat
- 28:44Frymuth and start using different players in
- 28:47a different way. Sure, but the fact of the matter
- 28:50is the Steelers offense is finding ways to win.
- 28:54put points on the board while at the same time
- 28:57using people that quite frankly were not being
- 29:01utilized in the last two or three years. That's
- 29:04significant. And that needs to be talked about
- 29:06a whole lot. Arthur Smith's offense is very boring
- 29:09by a lot of people's standards. But guess what?
- 29:12It gets the job done. If I'm not mistaken, and
- 29:15I will have to fact check this, I think the Steelers
- 29:18are like top five or top 10 when it comes to
- 29:21the red zone. I mean, they're using Darnell Washington
- 29:24like he's Gronk, which, I mean, that's probably
- 29:26a bad analogy, but that's the only person I could
- 29:28think of because, you know, size and whatnot.
- 29:30But we're not talking about that, okay? We're
- 29:32talking about football. I think if they continue
- 29:34to grow as the season progresses, I think this
- 29:38offense could be a little bit of a problem for
- 29:41other defenses because I truly believe that right
- 29:44now, with the formula that they have, I think
- 29:47they could beat the Bills. I think they could
- 29:50give a lot of other AFC teams problems. Because
- 29:53let's be real here. The AFC this year is weak.
- 29:57And the teams that we thought were going to be
- 29:59the Super Bowl candidates really aren't. If you
- 30:02would have told me that the Colts would be playing
- 30:04the way that they're playing with Daniel Jones,
- 30:06I would have called you a liar. But they are.
- 30:08The Bills really aren't a problem. The Chiefs
- 30:11right now, they're starting to get their act
- 30:13together. But I still have to wait and see what
- 30:15they're going to do with the trade deadline coming
- 30:17up. And honestly, I mean, the Ravens, they're
- 30:21just going down the toilet. Broncos, they're
- 30:25going to get their act together. Everybody else,
- 30:27it's whatever. But huge shout out to Aaron Rodgers
- 30:32and Arthur Smith and Mike Tomlin for scheming
- 30:35up a good game plan against the Browns. Now,
- 30:38defensively, they were going after Dylan Gabriel.
- 30:41They were crushing Dylan Gabriel. Nick Herbig
- 30:45had a really good game. Jalen Ramsey. got a sack.
- 30:49Think about that. If you would have told me that
- 30:52Jalen Ramsey would get a sack before Myles Garrett
- 30:54gets a sack in this game, I would have called
- 30:56you a liar. I know somebody made a crazy bet
- 30:59with that and probably won some money off of
- 31:01it. Hey, things are clicking. Things are starting
- 31:05to look good for the Steelers. Now, it's only
- 31:07up from here. Granted, they still have some positions
- 31:10that they do need to address, corner, maybe interior
- 31:13defensive line. maybe safety, but outside of
- 31:16those positions, I think they're a really good
- 31:18team. Now again, we've seen this same recipe
- 31:22before. The first half of the season, they're
- 31:25playing really well, they're dominating, playing
- 31:27really good ball, and then that second half of
- 31:29the season, They're like flower hitting water.
- 31:32They just disintegrate. So hopefully that doesn't
- 31:34happen. Hopefully they actually do something
- 31:37this year because I truly believe that there
- 31:40is a good chance that this year they could possibly
- 31:43win a playoff game, maybe even more. If that
- 31:46offense really starts clicking and that defense
- 31:49stays consistent, we may have to have a different
- 31:52conversation. I'm just saying. I'm not going
- 31:56to go there yet, but it's starting to get there.
- 32:00Now let's talk about the 49ers and Buccaneers
- 32:03games. So Mack Jones, 39 attempts for 27 completions,
- 32:06347 passing yards, two picks, 8 .9 yards per
- 32:11attempt, and a 69 .2 completion percentage. Christian
- 32:14McCaffrey, 17 attempts for 54 rushing yards,
- 32:173 .2 rushing yards per carry, one touchdown,
- 32:20and one rush of 10 plus yards more. Kendrick
- 32:23Bourne, nine targets for five receptions, 142
- 32:26receiving yards, 28 .4 receiving yards per reception.
- 32:30Baker Mayfield, 23 attempts for 17 completions,
- 32:33256 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, 11 .1 yards
- 32:37per attempt, and a 73 .9 completion percentage.
- 32:40Ricard White, 17 attempts for 65 rushing yards,
- 32:443 .8 rushing yards per carry, 1 touchdown, and
- 32:472 rushes of 10 plus yards or more. Cameron Johnson,
- 32:50four targets for four receptions, 64 receiving
- 32:52yards, one touchdown, and 16 receiving yards
- 32:55per reception. So, man, oh man, what is there
- 32:59to say about this game? Oh, I know. Baker Mayfield
- 33:03is my MVP this year. I don't care what anyone
- 33:08says. You can name me this quarterback. You can
- 33:10name me this player. Baker Mayfield is the MVP
- 33:14this year. If this game don't say it, I don't
- 33:18know what else to tell you. Because the fact
- 33:20that he won this game without Mike Evans, Chris
- 33:23Godwin, you lost Emeka Ibuka during the game.
- 33:27You didn't have Bucky Irvin. And you still found
- 33:31a way to win? Come on, guys. Come on, guys. We
- 33:36got to have an honest conversation. If we don't
- 33:38want to have an honest conversation, then I don't
- 33:40know what to tell you. But that game right there
- 33:42proved that the Buccaneers are a legitimate problem
- 33:46this year. I will continue to say it. Do not
- 33:50sleep on the Buccaneers. If they get healthy
- 33:54and if they make one or two moves during the
- 33:58trade deadline, I guarantee you they will be
- 34:01able to go toe -to -toe with the Eagles and any
- 34:04other NFC candidate you could possibly name me
- 34:06right now. That's how good they are. That's how
- 34:10well they played on Sunday. But defensively,
- 34:14they did a really good job. Even though they
- 34:17didn't have Benjamin Morrison and a few other
- 34:19people, they did a really good job. According
- 34:23to NextGenStats, in Week 6, the Buccaneers were
- 34:267th in run defense and they allowed 1 rushing
- 34:30touchdown, 67 rushing yards per game, 3 rushing
- 34:33yards per play, and 1 rush of 10 plus yards or
- 34:37more. So the fact that they limit Christian McCaffrey
- 34:40to 17 attempts for 54 rushing yards, 3 .2 rushing
- 34:44yards per carry, one touchdown, and one rush
- 34:47of 10 plus yards or more, I would say job well
- 34:49done. I would say you completed the mission.
- 34:52Now I know 49ers fans are saying, well, we didn't
- 34:55have Rob Purdy, and we lost Fred Warner, and
- 34:58we didn't have this person, that person. Don't
- 35:01worry. I got some stuff I gotta say about you
- 35:04guys, but we're gonna talk about the Buccaneers
- 35:05though. As of right now, what is stopping the
- 35:08Buccaneers? Like really think about this for
- 35:11a second. What is really stopping the Buccaneers?
- 35:14Because right now, they're easily going to win
- 35:17their division, okay? Once they win their division,
- 35:20you're either going to have to face the Eagles,
- 35:24Lions, or whoever. Now, depending on how high
- 35:28of a seed they get, if they get home field advantage
- 35:32and you have to face the Eagles, the Lions, or
- 35:35other, I think they can beat them. And honestly
- 35:40speaking, I think another thing that's not being
- 35:42talked about is the fact that Baker Mayfield
- 35:45continues to play despite having another offensive
- 35:50coordinator. He had David Canales, then he had
- 35:54Liam Cohen, and now he has the offensive coordinator
- 35:57that he has now. Under all three of those offensive
- 36:01coordinators, he's played well. And honestly
- 36:03speaking, every single year, he's gotten better.
- 36:07So right now, I think if Mike Evans and Chris
- 36:11Godwin can get healthy, I think this is the team
- 36:15that you're going to have to worry about when
- 36:17it gets to the seeding. Because they're going
- 36:19to win their division. Who's going to beat them?
- 36:23Falcons? Panthers? Saints? Nah. It's the Buccaneers
- 36:30division. But let's talk about the 49ers offense.
- 36:33So for starters, Matt Jones is playing really
- 36:35well. Am I saying he's going to take somebody's
- 36:38job? No. Am I saying he's going to be able to
- 36:41compete for a starting job next year? No. I think
- 36:44right now he's playing like an above average
- 36:47backup quarterback. And a lot of teams need that.
- 36:49Now, Kendrick Bourne had a really good game.
- 36:52Christian McCaffrey probably could have done
- 36:53a little bit more. But again, you're facing the
- 36:55Buccaneers who are one of the better run defenses
- 36:59in the entire league. So I'm not really surprised.
- 37:02But let's talk about the defense. So with them
- 37:05losing Fred Warner, I know a lot of people are
- 37:07freaking out and they're trying to figure out,
- 37:09oh, what are they going to do? All hope is lost.
- 37:12The season is over with. No, it's not. They can
- 37:14still do something. It's just going to be a lot
- 37:16difficult because they don't have Fred Warner
- 37:19nor Nick Bosa on the field. And let's be real
- 37:22here. There isn't a Fred Warner that's just available
- 37:25right now for a trade, okay? So either you're
- 37:28going to have to rely on your younger players.
- 37:31Or you're just going to have to scheme up something
- 37:33different to supplement Fred Warner not being
- 37:35on the field. Now, honestly speaking here, if
- 37:39you had Dre Greenlaw, guess what? You wouldn't
- 37:41be in this situation. But, well, you know what?
- 37:45Let's leave that alone because that might be
- 37:47sensitive for 49ers fans. Let's just leave that
- 37:50alone. But on a serious note, I do believe the
- 37:5449ers can still make some noise. But it all depends
- 37:56on what they do with the trade deadline coming
- 37:58up. I do believe they should go after a pass
- 38:01rusher than trying to go after a middle linebacker,
- 38:04and here's why. Outside of Nick Bosa, who else
- 38:08do you really have to worry about on this defensive
- 38:10line? Who else on this defensive line can create
- 38:13consistent pressure on the quarterback? Nobody?
- 38:16Oh, okay. According to NextGenStats, the 49ers
- 38:21defense has blitzed on 20 .7 % of opponents'
- 38:24dropbacks. That is the fifth lowest rate in the
- 38:27National Football League. Now, with that being
- 38:29said, if you're the 49ers, what are you willing
- 38:32to give up to get an elite pass rusher? Because
- 38:35we all know you're going to have to give up a
- 38:37first round pick. The question is, are you willing
- 38:40to do it knowing that most likely you're going
- 38:43to have to address the offensive line in next
- 38:45year's draft? Because you could get Max Crosby.
- 38:48You could get Jeffrey Simmons. You could get
- 38:51Trey Hendrickson. But just know you're not going
- 38:54to have a first round pick. So the question is.
- 38:58Do you get a tier two or tier three pass rusher?
- 39:00Maybe somebody that's familiar with Robert Sala?
- 39:03Or do you try to get somebody that maybe, you
- 39:06know, they get released or something? What exactly
- 39:08do you do to address this problem? Because you
- 39:12need to create pressure. Because if you're not
- 39:15creating pressure, a quarterback is going to
- 39:17pick you apart. If you're the 49ers, you have
- 39:21a lot of thinking that you have to do within
- 39:23the next few weeks. And you have to come up with
- 39:25a decision fairly quickly because why? The trade
- 39:28deadline is only a few weeks away. And teams
- 39:32are going to start calling. I wouldn't be surprised
- 39:34if the Eagles, Ravens, and a few other teams
- 39:37that need pass rushers are doing the same thing.
- 39:40Now we all know the Eagles would be willing to
- 39:43give up a first round pick and more just to get
- 39:46an elite pass rusher because they're that desperate.
- 39:49The question is, will you meet their desperation?
- 39:52But let's talk about the Jets and Broncos game.
- 39:54So Bo Nix, 30 attempts for 19 completions, 174
- 39:58passing yards, one touchdown, 5 .8 yards per
- 40:00attempt, and a 63 .3 completion percentage. J
- 40:04.K. Dobbins, 14 attempts for 40 rushing yards,
- 40:062 .9 rushing yards per carry. Evan Ingram. Six
- 40:10targets for five receptions, 42 receiving yards,
- 40:128 .4 receiving yards per reception. Justin Fields,
- 40:1617 attempts for nine completions, 45 passing
- 40:19yards, 2 .6 yards per attempt, and a 52 .9 completion
- 40:22percentage. Brees Hall, 22 attempts for 59 rushing
- 40:26yards, 2 .7 rushing yards per carry. Josh Reynolds,
- 40:29three targets for three receptions, 25 receiving
- 40:32yards, and 8 .3 receiving yards per reception.
- 40:35I'll be honest here, this was a really good defensive
- 40:38game if you love those type of games, but offensively,
- 40:41it was atrocious. Nobody was really able to do
- 40:45anything. So let's start with the Broncos offense.
- 40:48They lacked explosive plays, and honestly speaking,
- 40:51they weren't in rhythm. And every time that they
- 40:54tried to get into a rhythm, it was always disrupted.
- 40:57And if it wasn't for the defense, I couldn't
- 40:59tell you how this game would have ended. Now,
- 41:02according to NextGenStats, The Broncos defense
- 41:05held the Jets to zero explosive plays. The first
- 41:09time an offense has gone without an explosive
- 41:11play in the game since week 22 of the 2021 season,
- 41:15which was the Texans versus the Titans. The Broncos
- 41:20generated 16 pressures on 29 dropbacks against
- 41:24the Jets. That's the fifth highest pressure rate
- 41:26by any team this season. I don't know what's
- 41:29going on with the Jets, but they need to figure
- 41:31it out. Because since week one, they have regressed
- 41:34every single week. And that's not good. You're
- 41:38supposed to be progressing every single week.
- 41:42This has to be Justin Fields' worst game of his
- 41:45entire career. And honestly speaking, now looking
- 41:49back at it, Pittsburgh made the right decision.
- 41:52They decided to go and weigh things out with
- 41:55Aaron Rodgers. And so far, it's working. Meanwhile,
- 41:59Justin Fields decided to chase the money. And
- 42:02now look, you look horrible. And most likely,
- 42:05this will probably be the last chance that you
- 42:07get of being a starting quarterback in the league.
- 42:10Because I promise you, the Jets most likely will
- 42:13take a quarterback next year. You cannot run
- 42:16it back with Justin Fields. I'm sorry. Now, if
- 42:19you're Justin Fields, this just goes to show,
- 42:21chasing the money isn't always the best option.
- 42:24Sometimes the opportunity is better than the
- 42:27money. And I know people are probably scratching
- 42:30their heads and they're probably figuring out,
- 42:31what do you mean? Sometimes if you're in a better
- 42:34opportunity, you really won't be focused on the
- 42:38money as much because the opportunity is great.
- 42:41Case in point, the Patriots. all those years
- 42:45all those players that want to go to the Patriots
- 42:47they knew hey listen I'm dealing with Bill Belichick
- 42:51who's going to be hard -nosed who's going to
- 42:53be on my ass on the smallest of the small details
- 42:56but guess what I'm always going to be competing
- 42:59for a championship and people brought into that
- 43:02for 20 plus years and honestly speaking I would
- 43:06have stayed with Pittsburgh because why even
- 43:08if you're the backup with Aaron Rodgers the fact
- 43:11that Arthur Smith loved you, and he was probably
- 43:15going to scheme up something specifically for
- 43:18you? Come on, man. Because now look at you. Outside
- 43:23of week one, what have you really shown? Nothing.
- 43:27All you've shown is that you're very athletic
- 43:29and that you can run with your legs. That's it.
- 43:32If you take away his running ability, what does
- 43:35Justin Fields have? It's not like he has this
- 43:38rocket arm or this quick release or he's able
- 43:42to decipher plays fairly quickly. It's none of
- 43:45those things. So if you're the Jets, how long
- 43:49of a leash are you going to give Justin Fields
- 43:51before you say, you know what, we have to go
- 43:53in a different direction? We literally saw the
- 43:55Jets just look around like they're in La La Land
- 43:58while the clock is going down and everyone's
- 44:01trying to figure out, okay, are we going to run
- 44:03a play? Are we going to take a knee? Are we going
- 44:05to do a timeout? What are we going to do? And
- 44:08they didn't do anything. And guess what? Next
- 44:10thing you know, it hits triple zeros and now
- 44:13they're going into halftime. And Garrett Wilson
- 44:15is letting Aaron Glenn have it and he deserves
- 44:18every right to do so because it's like, bro,
- 44:21what the hell are we doing? If this is any veteran
- 44:24quarterback, oh, it's going to be a timeout.
- 44:27They're taking a knee. They're doing something.
- 44:29But Justin Fields is a deer in headlights. Why?
- 44:36If it wasn't for their defense, this would have
- 44:40been probably the worst game of all time. And
- 44:43even then, let's talk about their defense. Sauce
- 44:46does not look good. I've been holding in for
- 44:50a very long time, but I said it. They should
- 44:53have never gave Sauce that type of contract because
- 44:56outside of his rookie year, what has he shown?
- 44:59Nothing. Even with Garrett Wilson, you're having
- 45:05these hissy fits and going off on people in the
- 45:08sidelines. Brother, you didn't have to sign that
- 45:10contract. You decided that you wanted to be here.
- 45:14You made that decision. You didn't even give
- 45:17yourself the ability to test free agency just
- 45:20to see, hey, which teams would be interested
- 45:22in me? What's my market? You just said, you know
- 45:25what? F it. I'm just going to sign here. Forget
- 45:28about it. Now look at you. You're back in the
- 45:32same cycle of losing and bad and inconsistent
- 45:34quarterback play that you thought you were going
- 45:37to get out of. I keep telling people the money
- 45:41isn't always worth it. If I'm a player, I would
- 45:45rather take less just so I can be in a better
- 45:48opportunity than to just say, hey, I'm making
- 45:5130 plus million, but I'm on a team that's probably
- 45:54not going to win 10 games this season. Or I'm
- 45:56on a team right now that most likely I'm going
- 45:59to have a new head coach come next year. Come
- 46:02on, man. What are we doing? But the Jets will
- 46:05be the Jets. So let's talk about the Falcons
- 46:07and Bills game. So Josh Allen, 26 attempts for
- 46:1015 completions, 180 passing yards, two touchdowns,
- 46:14two picks, 6 .9 yards per attempt, and a 57 .7
- 46:17completion percentage. James Cook, 17 attempts
- 46:20for 87 rushing yards, 5 .1 rushing yards per
- 46:23carry, and two rushes of 10 plus yards or more.
- 46:26Josh Palmer, two targets for two receptions,
- 46:2960 receiving yards, and 30 receiving yards per
- 46:32reception. Michael Penix, 32 attempts for 20
- 46:35completions, 250 passing yards, 1 touchdown,
- 46:397 .8 yards per attempt, and a 62 .5 completion
- 46:42percentage. Bijan Robinson, 19 attempts for 170
- 46:46rushing yards, 8 .9 rushing yards per carry,
- 46:481 touchdown, and 3 rushes of 10 plus yards or
- 46:51more. Drake London, 16 targets for 10 receptions,
- 46:54158 receiving yards, 1 touchdown, and 15 .8 receiving
- 46:59yards per reception. Let's be honest here. The
- 47:02Bills are not Super Bowl contenders. You guys
- 47:05know that meme of the Bugatti in that really
- 47:08crappy house? That's exactly what Josh Allen
- 47:11is with the Bills. Great talent, but in a really
- 47:15messed up situation. And they believe that Josh
- 47:18Allen will be the sole reason why they go to
- 47:21the Super Bowl and win. And that's not the case.
- 47:24The man doesn't have really good weapons. And
- 47:27honestly speaking, their defense is atrocious.
- 47:30I know usually I talk about the offense and the
- 47:33defense, but I have to group them in together
- 47:34because there's so much to talk about with this
- 47:36Bills team. And I knew that something wasn't
- 47:40right with this Bills team when they faced the
- 47:42Saints. Anytime the Saints, a team that doesn't
- 47:46have a lot of weapons, a team that is trying
- 47:48to compete for a top five or top ten pick, is
- 47:52going toe -to -toe with you for the majority
- 47:54of the game, that is a problem. And it clearly
- 47:57showed because B. John Robinson had a great game.
- 48:01The Bills cannot stop the run, and that's a problem.
- 48:05Mind you, they invested a lot of resources into
- 48:09the defensive line this past offseason. From
- 48:11drafting Deion Walker and T .J. Sanders to bringing
- 48:15in Joey Bosa, they've done a lot, and clearly
- 48:17it hasn't shown. So what in the world is going
- 48:20on? Not to mention, your corners are not good.
- 48:24Your linebackers are not good. Your safeties
- 48:26are not good. There is nothing on this defense
- 48:28that screams problem. Good problem, by the way.
- 48:32Not bad problem. Good problem. So what in the
- 48:35world are they going to do? Because guess what?
- 48:39If they face the Chiefs again, oh, that's a slaughter.
- 48:41If they face the Ravens, if they get their act
- 48:44together, that could possibly be a problem. So
- 48:48you can't just say, oh, Josh Allen will save
- 48:51us. He's done it before. He'll do it again. No,
- 48:54you have to give him time. You have to give him
- 48:58adequate weapons. You can't just throw him Keon
- 49:03Coleman and Khalil Shakir and Gabe Davis was
- 49:06still trying to recover from his past injury
- 49:09and just say, you know what? Turn water into
- 49:11wine. It doesn't work like that. You have to
- 49:15give him a chance. Honestly speaking. I'll be
- 49:19the first person to say it because nobody else
- 49:21wants to say it. And I don't have no ties to
- 49:24any team or any journalists or anything. I truly
- 49:27believe that the Bill's Super Bowl window has
- 49:29closed. And you can only blame that on poor drafting,
- 49:35free agency moves, and poor roster building.
- 49:39And I know I'm about to go on a tangent, but
- 49:41just follow me, okay? When we look at the NFC
- 49:44and AFC. The reason why I will always choose
- 49:48an NFC GM over an AFC GM, because you know why?
- 49:53NFC GMs build the entire team. They don't just
- 49:57build one side of the ball. They try to make
- 50:00the team as balanced as possibly can. Whereas
- 50:03the AFC, as long as they have the quarterback,
- 50:05they can just wing it. And most of the times,
- 50:08their windows close a lot faster than NFC teams.
- 50:12The AFC have all the elite quarterbacks, but
- 50:14guess what? they have some of the worst rosters
- 50:17in the entire league. Whereas the NFC, on the
- 50:19other hand, they have some of the best rosters
- 50:21and they may not have some of the best quarterbacks
- 50:24in the league. So me personally, I would rather
- 50:27have the roster over the quarterback because
- 50:30you can sort of do what the Eagles are doing.
- 50:32You can have a good quarterback in Jalen Hurts,
- 50:35but you can have this loaded roster that can
- 50:38hide his flaws while at the same time be very
- 50:41productive and put points on the board. Why in
- 50:44the world do we continue to say, oh, this is
- 50:48going to be the year for the Bills. The Bills
- 50:50are going to do it this year. They're not. They're
- 50:52not going to win a Super Bowl. Their last legitimate
- 50:56chance of going to the Super Bowl was the year
- 50:59they lost to the Chiefs in overtime. Because
- 51:01their defense was productive. The offense was
- 51:04productive. They were moving on all cylinders.
- 51:08But what happened? They kept on choking to Patrick
- 51:11Mahomes. Every single time. So at some point,
- 51:15you have to start asking the question, is Sean
- 51:19McDermott the guy that's going to take us to
- 51:21the promised land? Because I'm starting to believe
- 51:23that he can't. I'm sorry. If you lose to the
- 51:26Falcons, we have to talk. And this is no discredit
- 51:30to the Falcons, but I mean, this is the same
- 51:31team that got blown out by the Panthers. 30 -0.
- 51:3630 -0. That's a Madden score. That's not a real
- 51:40score. That is a Madden score. And they just
- 51:42finished beating a potential quote -unquote Super
- 51:45Bowl team? Are you serious? And I understand
- 51:48everyone's going to say, well, you know, crazy
- 51:51things can happen in the National Football League.
- 51:53That's why the NFL is so special. Okay, I understand
- 51:56where you're coming from, but come on. Here is
- 51:59a stat that backs up everything that I just said.
- 52:01According to NextGenStats. The Falcons blitzed
- 52:05Josh Allen on 55 .9 % of his dropbacks, the highest
- 52:09blitz rate Josh Allen has faced since week eight
- 52:12of the 2021 season. When blitzed, Josh Allen
- 52:16completed eight of his 14 for 120 yards, one
- 52:19touchdown, but was pressured nine of 19 blitz
- 52:23dropbacks and was sacked three times. Don't believe
- 52:27me? Okay, I got another stat. Across 34 routes.
- 52:31Drake London hauled in 10 of his 16 targets for
- 52:35a touchdown. His receptions came from either
- 52:37short or intermediate areas. I'm sorry folks,
- 52:42but something's wrong. Clearly this defense is
- 52:45incompetent. Clearly this defense lacks talent.
- 52:48Your corners are bad. You didn't do anything
- 52:51about it. And you could have done something about
- 52:52it. I'm not really going to put a lot of blame
- 52:55on Maxwell Harrison because he's a rookie. He
- 52:57doesn't really know anything. But for everybody
- 52:58else that's been here, what are we doing? And
- 53:02you guys think that you guys can beat the Chiefs?
- 53:05Hell no! But let's talk about the Falcons, though.
- 53:08They did a great job with their execution, both
- 53:11offensively and defensively. The offense knew
- 53:15that the Bills' run defense isn't that strong,
- 53:17and they attacked it. And they continued to do
- 53:20that the entire game, and it worked. Now, defensively,
- 53:24they did a great job as well because they were
- 53:27able to create consistent pressure on Josh Allen.
- 53:30And everybody knows that if you continue to do
- 53:32it on Josh Allen enough, he's going to get startled.
- 53:35And that's exactly what happened. Outside of
- 53:38those first few explosive plays that the Bills
- 53:40did, the Falcons had him on lock. So great job
- 53:45to the Falcons. And you just gave a playbook
- 53:47for everybody to see on how to beat the Bills.
- 53:51But let's talk about Tua, though. But before
- 53:53we do that, we've got to pay some bills. Pardon
- 53:55the interruption, but this is your GM, your bad
- 53:57road dominance, here to talk about rss .com,
- 54:00all right? So if you guys already don't know,
- 54:02I am a rss .com affiliate. And so I just want
- 54:05to tell you for just a quick moment about why
- 54:08you should choose rss .com. So me personally,
- 54:12on my journey of podcasting, I was looking at
- 54:14different platforms just to find the right place.
- 54:18And I looked here, I looked there, I looked everywhere,
- 54:21but I checked out rss .com and it was the best
- 54:24decision I ever made. From low prices to interactive
- 54:27analytics to as well as helping you with your
- 54:30distribution, rss .com does it all. Not to mention,
- 54:35they just started a Slack channel where you can
- 54:38network and interact with other podcasters and

- 55:02want to get paid for doing something that they're
- 55:05passionate about doing? So head on over to rss
- 55:08.com. I will be attaching my RSS affiliate link
- 55:12within the description. When you click on that

- 55:22of that money will go towards upgrading the microphones,

- 55:32all of that and more. Thank you for your support
- 55:34and thank you RSS .com for making me an affiliate.
- 55:37Now back to the good stuff. And we're back, folks.
- 55:40Let's talk about Tua and these ridiculous comments
- 55:43that he has made that has put everybody against
- 55:46him. I'm talking about former players. I'm talking
- 55:49about current players, media personalities, you
- 55:53name it. Everybody is against Tua right now,
- 55:55okay? So this is what he said in response to
- 55:58a question being asked by Omar Kelly, the Miami
- 56:00hero, okay? So this is what Tua said in that
- 56:03quote. I think it starts with the leadership
- 56:05and helping to articulate that for the guys.
- 56:09And that what we're expecting out of the guys,
- 56:11we're expecting this. Are we getting that? Are
- 56:13we not getting that? We have guys showing up
- 56:16to player only meetings late. Guys not showing
- 56:19up to the player only meetings. There's a lot
- 56:21that goes into that. Do we have to make this
- 56:23mandatory? So it's a lot of things of that nature
- 56:26that we got to get cleaned up. And it starts
- 56:28with the little things like that, end quote.
- 56:31Now, this is what Jason McCourty had to say about
- 56:34this. And I quote, I hated every bit of that.
- 56:37I played in New England with Bill Belichick and
- 56:39Tom Brady and Coach Belichick used to talk about
- 56:42it. When you have true leadership, it doesn't
- 56:44need to be talked about. So if there is a problem,
- 56:47Tua, you're the captain of this team. You're
- 56:49the quarterback. Go handle it. Don't sit here
- 56:51in front of the camera and talk to media members
- 56:53about guys messing up. Get in the locker room,
- 56:57call those guys out by name, and if confrontation
- 56:59happens... then it happens sometimes. But I think
- 57:02to come and air out your dirty laundry and let
- 57:04everybody know that there's a problem, we know
- 57:06there's a problem. You're not winning football
- 57:08games. Go fix it in -house. Handle it that way.
- 57:11I think that's true leadership, end quote. Now,
- 57:14this is what Mitchell Swartz had to say about
- 57:16this. And I quote, isn't he just telling on himself?
- 57:20He is the leader of the team and guys aren't
- 57:23showing up to players -only meetings. This has
- 57:25nothing to do with coaches, front office, et
- 57:28cetera. Very weird to talk about and admit, end
- 57:31quote. Now this is what former Tennessee GM Rand
- 57:34Carthorn had to say about this, end quote. Everything
- 57:38that you said post -game had to do with players,
- 57:40right? And the last time I checked, you wear
- 57:42that C on your chest, which means you're one
- 57:45of the leaders on this team. So if players aren't
- 57:48showing up to player -led meetings, that starts
- 57:50with you. That has nothing to do with Mike McDaniel.
- 57:54That has nothing to do with Chris Greer. That
- 57:56has nothing to do with anybody that is not in
- 57:59that locker room. That's you. That's your teammates
- 58:02that all wear that C on their chest. That's you
- 58:05guys not holding each other accountable. That
- 58:07has nothing to do with the head coach. And what
- 58:10I see out of Tua Tagovailoa, I've never seen
- 58:13him come to the front and say, I have to play
- 58:15better. When he's questioned about the volume
- 58:18of turnovers, it's him being defensive. What
- 58:21do you mean? I don't turn the ball over as in
- 58:23bunches. But you turn the ball over. You don't
- 58:26hold yourself accountable. And in order for this
- 58:28organization to play well and to win football
- 58:30games, you have to lead. And no matter what's
- 58:33going on around you, that's out of the player's
- 58:35hands, right? And it comes down to you fighting
- 58:38for the man next to you, your brother that's
- 58:40in the huddle, your brother that's across the
- 58:42locker room for you. So don't worry about any
- 58:45of that. It starts with you. You need to look
- 58:47yourself in the mirror and figure out what you
- 58:49need to do as the starting quarterback for this
- 58:51Miami Dolphins franchise to help them win football
- 58:54games, end quote. Now, this is what Mike McDaniel
- 58:56had to say Monday after these two comments were
- 58:59already out, and I quote, After a loss as the
- 59:01franchise quarterback, that's not the form to
- 59:03displace that. I think he knows that now. I do
- 59:06believe there was no ill will intention, but
- 59:09you're talking about a misguided representation
- 59:10of a player orchestrated film sessions. You're
- 59:13trying to look for reasons that you can attribute
- 59:15to losses, and heavy is the crown of being a
- 59:18franchise quarterback. What I do know is that
- 59:21he's directly communicating with a lot of guys,
- 59:23starting with last night. That's what teammates
- 59:25do. You live and you learn. And ultimately, I
- 59:28look at it like everything else. There's no ifs,
- 59:31ands, or buts about it. Accountability and our
- 59:33team's performance lie squarely on my shoulders,
- 59:36end quote. Now, here's the stat line for Tua
- 59:40for that game, okay? 32 attempts for 21 completions,
- 59:44205 passing yards, one touchdown, three picks,
- 59:476 .4 yards per attempt, and a 65 .6 completion
- 59:51percentage. Now here's the injury report for
- 59:54the Chargers. They didn't have Quentin Johnson,
- 59:57Darius Davis, Scott Matlock, Nico Reed, Jamari
- 1:00:02Slayer, Joe Ault, or Trey Pickens III. So you
- 1:00:06mean to tell me that you're going to air out
- 1:00:08the team's dirty laundry the way that you did?
- 1:00:11on public forum. Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew
- 1:00:15Brees, none of those great quarterbacks would
- 1:00:18never do anything like that. So what gives you
- 1:00:21the right to say the things that you say? I understand
- 1:00:24you're not winning. I understand there's a lot
- 1:00:27of turmoil around you. I understand that from
- 1:00:30the outside looking in, everybody is saying the
- 1:00:32same thing. Blow everything up. You're not a
- 1:00:34good quarterback. I understand that. But what
- 1:00:37you cannot do is air out the team's dirty laundry.
- 1:00:41Because guess what's going to happen? The media
- 1:00:44is going to run with this. You cannot be making
- 1:00:46the type of money that you are making and just
- 1:00:49do something like this. It'll be different if
- 1:00:52this was a receiver, if this was an offensive
- 1:00:54lineman, if this was a corner or a pass rusher.
- 1:00:57Okay, fine, whatever. You'll still get some flack
- 1:01:00back, but it won't be as big as what it is right
- 1:01:02now. But you're the quarterback. You're the face
- 1:01:05of the franchise. When people talk about the
- 1:01:08team, you are the first person that pops up.
- 1:01:11And the fact that you didn't think about that
- 1:01:14in that moment and you were so brutally honest
- 1:01:17that now that you have essentially destroyed
- 1:01:20any and all relationships in that locker room,
- 1:01:24who in the world really wants to fight for a
- 1:01:26quarterback who just finished saying, oh yeah,
- 1:01:28people don't really show up to the player -only
- 1:01:31meetings like that. People are just, you know,
- 1:01:33late sometimes or they may just not come at all.
- 1:01:36What? Who in the world does something like this?
- 1:01:40No one cares. You know what people care about
- 1:01:43is you winning. And then on top of that, why
- 1:01:45in the world are you talking when you threw three
- 1:01:47picks in this game? Three picks. It'll be different
- 1:01:51if you was balling out and you was doing your
- 1:01:54thing and you may get a little bit frustrated.
- 1:01:56Okay, fine. That's a normal thing as a person.
- 1:02:00But for you to do what you have done to him.
- 1:02:04by some people's standards, is unforgivable.
- 1:02:07I'm sorry, you cannot do that because guess what's
- 1:02:11going to happen? Everyone is going to look at
- 1:02:13you with a side eye because guess what? When
- 1:02:15Tyreek Hill said what he said this offseason,
- 1:02:18oh, let's protect Tua. Let's make sure Tua's
- 1:02:21okay. Let's coddle Tua. Oh, where's that now?
- 1:02:25Where's that now? Because all I see is somebody
- 1:02:28who really can't handle the pressure. This is
- 1:02:32what happens when you are a quarterback in the
- 1:02:34National Football League. You have to deal with
- 1:02:37the pressure. And if you can't handle the pressure,
- 1:02:39let somebody else do it. But this is exactly
- 1:02:42why I said what I said about why they shouldn't
- 1:02:45have never gave him the contract that they gave
- 1:02:47him. Because ever since they gave him his contract,
- 1:02:49he's been feeling himself. He's been smelling
- 1:02:53his own shit every single week. And you can't
- 1:02:57just air yourself out like that. Because guess
- 1:02:59what? If you don't have a good game on Sunday,
- 1:03:02guess what? Everybody's going to refer to exactly
- 1:03:04what you just said this past Sunday. And if you're
- 1:03:07a team who possibly want to make a trade for
- 1:03:10you, because most likely the Dolphins are going
- 1:03:12to get rid of you, who would want that in their
- 1:03:15locker room? I wouldn't want that in my locker
- 1:03:18room. Too much is given, much is required. You
- 1:03:22cannot be making the type of money that you are
- 1:03:24making and say the things that you are saying.
- 1:03:29And not once did I hear, you know what, I just
- 1:03:31have to play better. Or you could have just said,
- 1:03:33you know what, I don't really have the answer
- 1:03:35for that, but you know what, come back to me
- 1:03:37maybe about a few days and I'll give you an answer.
- 1:03:40There's so many different ways that you could
- 1:03:42have went about answering that question. But
- 1:03:44you decided that, you know what, I'm going to
- 1:03:47be super honest. And in doing so, you have now
- 1:03:50essentially burned every relationship that you
- 1:03:53have in your locker room. Not to mention, by
- 1:03:55some people's standards, one could assume that,
- 1:03:58hey, are you throwing your head coach under the
- 1:04:00bus as well? And this is the same head coach
- 1:04:03that said, you know what, I'm going to help you
- 1:04:05out. I'm going to build the best version of Tua
- 1:04:08that the NFL has ever seen. And so far, all I
- 1:04:12see is somebody that is smelling himself, that
- 1:04:16feels like he's the big man on the block, when
- 1:04:18in actuality, you're not. I just saw Baker Mayfield
- 1:04:22without Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, who lost a
- 1:04:26mecha buka during the game, who didn't have Bucky
- 1:04:29Irvin, find a way to win. So what is your excuse?
- 1:04:33There is no excuse. Either you got it or you
- 1:04:37don't. That's just what it is. So why in the
- 1:04:41world would you say something like this? And
- 1:04:45I remember that entire summer, everyone was making
- 1:04:48it seem like Tyreek Hill was just this villainous
- 1:04:50person for the things that he said. There may
- 1:04:53be some truth with this. We only saw one side
- 1:04:57of Tyreek Hill with that entire situation of
- 1:05:00him saying, you know, I would rather have these
- 1:05:02other quarterbacks than Tua. We don't know the
- 1:05:06day -to -day relationship that he has with Tua.
- 1:05:08We don't know how Tua is on a day -to -day basis.
- 1:05:11It's the same thing with Russell Wilson. No disrespect
- 1:05:14to Russell Wilson, but there are a lot of people
- 1:05:16that said, hey, Russ really isn't a cool person.
- 1:05:19As a Steelers fan, when the leaks were coming
- 1:05:22out about how him and Arthur Smith were at odds
- 1:05:26and they had disagreements on how they wanted
- 1:05:29to execute the offense and whatnot, oh, then
- 1:05:32let me know. That already let me know what type
- 1:05:34of person we're dealing with. So at some point,
- 1:05:37you're going to take accountability or not to
- 1:05:40it. Because you have to take accountability for
- 1:05:42this. Granted, there are some things that are
- 1:05:44out of your control. But the things that you
- 1:05:47can control, you don't control. And you point
- 1:05:50the finger at everybody else. And so how are
- 1:05:53you going to be able to talk to your guys and
- 1:05:57say, you know what, guys? That's on me. I apologize
- 1:06:00for that. You can't do it anymore because it's
- 1:06:02already done. And guess what? Everybody's going
- 1:06:05to be asking the same question for the rest of
- 1:06:08the year to all of these players. But you want
- 1:06:11to know what makes things worse? And this is
- 1:06:12the last thing I'm going to say about this. I
- 1:06:14want to talk about trade projections and then
- 1:06:16we're going to end the episode. Justin Herbert
- 1:06:18didn't have neither one of his starting tackles
- 1:06:20and found a way to win. But when you face a little
- 1:06:24bit of adversity, you crumble like flower hitting
- 1:06:27water. I'm done. Let's talk about trade projections.
- 1:06:30so with the trade deadline coming around i feel
- 1:06:34like we need to talk about the cap space with
- 1:06:36every single team right now before we get into
- 1:06:38you know possible trades and whatnot so of course
- 1:06:41we all know The Patriots right now have the most
- 1:06:44cap space in the entire league. They have 54
- 1:06:45.3 million. The Cowboys have 31 .7 million. The
- 1:06:50Commanders have 27 .8 million. The San Francisco
- 1:06:5249ers have 26 .3. The Lions have 25 .2. The Browns
- 1:06:59have 23 .6. The Seahawks have 22 .8. The Steelers
- 1:07:03have 21 .2. The Panthers have 20 .4. The Titans
- 1:07:07have 19 .2. The Buccaneers have 17 million. The
- 1:07:12Vikings have, what, 16 .9 million. The Cardinals
- 1:07:15have 16 .7. The Ravens have 14 .1. The Broncos
- 1:07:19have 13 .5. The Texans have 12 .8. The Packers
- 1:07:23have 12 .1. The Jets have 11 .7 million. The
- 1:07:27Rams have 11 .6 million. The Saints have 11 .6
- 1:07:31million as well. The Eagles have 11 .3. The Bengals
- 1:07:35have 9 .7. The Bears have 8 .2. The Raiders have
- 1:07:398 million. The Colts have 6 .9 million. The Falcons
- 1:07:43have 5 .8 million. The Chiefs have 3 .4 million.
- 1:07:47The Charters have 2 .6 million. The Bills have
- 1:07:502 .2 million. The Dolphins have 1 .2 million.
- 1:07:53The Giants have negative 488 ,454 cap space.
- 1:07:59And the Jaguars have negative 9. $798 ,791. Woo!
- 1:08:07So if you're the Dolphins, Giants, or Jaguars,
- 1:08:10you essentially don't have anything. So you're
- 1:08:13probably not gonna be a player. Or if you are,
- 1:08:15you're most likely gonna be a seller. So with
- 1:08:17that being said, if you're any of the teams that
- 1:08:20I just listed, from the Patriots probably to,
- 1:08:25I would say maybe the Colts, you can make some
- 1:08:29moves. Everybody else, not so much. But let's
- 1:08:33talk about it, though. So the first person that
- 1:08:35comes to mind is Jeffrey Simmons. I truly believe
- 1:08:38that he's going to get traded. I think right
- 1:08:41now, if you're the Titans, you can use that extra
- 1:08:44pick because most likely you can ask for a first
- 1:08:47round pick and somebody will be willing to give
- 1:08:49it to you. So you have two first round picks
- 1:08:51next year, which you're really going to need
- 1:08:52because you're going to need to bring in more
- 1:08:53weapons for Cam Ward while at the same time address
- 1:08:57other needs on this team. Now, the teams that
- 1:09:00could be interesting for Jeffrey Simmons includes
- 1:09:02Ravens, 49ers, Eagles, and Bills. What do they
- 1:09:06all have in common? Bad defensive lines right
- 1:09:09now that need an elite pass rusher. And Jeffrey
- 1:09:13Simmons can play on the inside and outside. And
- 1:09:16even when you look at his contract, his contract
- 1:09:18is actually really good. His base salary this
- 1:09:21year, according to Spotrack, is only $17 .5 million,
- 1:09:24and his cap hit is only $22 .7 million. And then
- 1:09:28the next two years, $20 .1 million for his base
- 1:09:31salary. His cap hit $25 .4 million. And then
- 1:09:34his last year before he's an unrestricted free
- 1:09:37agent, $23 million with a cap hit of $28 .3 million.
- 1:09:41That's not bad at all. And he's only 28 years
- 1:09:45old. I would give up a first round pick in a
- 1:09:47heartbeat. Now, Kirk Cousins, I don't believe
- 1:09:50he's going to get traded. For one, he has a bad
- 1:09:53contract. And two, why would I want to give up?
- 1:09:57a potential second or third round pick for a
- 1:10:00quarterback that when he was on the field really
- 1:10:03didn't show a lot. Not to mention, when you look
- 1:10:05at his contract, I mean, the cap hits are egregious.
- 1:10:09This year, $40 million. Next year, $57 .5 million.
- 1:10:14And then the year after that, $57 .5 million
- 1:10:16as well. That's not good. And then your base
- 1:10:19salaries, I mean, come on, $27 .5 million this
- 1:10:22year and then $35 million for the next two years.
- 1:10:25Who wants to deal with that? Nobody. Mark Andrews,
- 1:10:28I would say he stays in Baltimore this year,
- 1:10:31but I do believe they're going to move off of
- 1:10:33him next year. I think with Isaiah Likely coming
- 1:10:36up for a contract, it's just better that you
- 1:10:39go with Isaiah Likely at this point. And even
- 1:10:42if a team was to trade for Mark Andrews, he's
- 1:10:45at the end of his contract. So his base salary
- 1:10:48is only $7 million with a cap hit of only $16
- 1:10:50.9 million. That's not bad at all. But let's
- 1:10:53keep this thing going. DJ Moore. I think he may
- 1:10:56get traded, but don't hold me to it. Now, if
- 1:11:00he was traded, I believe the Steelers, 49ers,
- 1:11:04Chiefs, Commanders, and Browns will be interested
- 1:11:06in DJ Moore. Now, with him, you could probably
- 1:11:10give up maybe, what, a third, maybe a fourth
- 1:11:14round pick to get DJ Moore. Now, with his contract,
- 1:11:17however, I mean, it's still fairly new, so even
- 1:11:22when you look at the financials, it's somewhat
- 1:11:24easy to take on, right? So his cap hit this year,
- 1:11:2724 .9 million. Next year is 28 .5 million. The
- 1:11:31year after that, 28 .5. The year after that,
- 1:11:3328 .5. And then his last year, 24 .5. That's
- 1:11:36not bad. Even with his base salaries, 20 .6 this
- 1:11:41year, 23 .4 for the next three years, or actually
- 1:11:45no, for the remainder of his contract. So either
- 1:11:47way, it's a good contract to take on. And he's
- 1:11:51only 28 years old. So with the Bears drafting
- 1:11:54Luther Burden and them having Roma Dunzey and
- 1:11:57the other receiver, you might as well want to
- 1:11:59get off of DJ Moore. Just saying. Tyreek Woolen,
- 1:12:02I think he's going to get traded. And the reason
- 1:12:07why I say that is because there's a lot of teams
- 1:12:09that need a good outside corner. I think the
- 1:12:12Eagles, possibly the Ravens, 49ers, Commanders,
- 1:12:16Bears, Colts, Bucks will definitely want someone
- 1:12:18like a Tyreek Woolen. Now, if I'm the Bucks...
- 1:12:23I would make this trade immediately. And the
- 1:12:26reason why I say that is because if you make
- 1:12:29a move for someone like a Tyreek Woolen, it's
- 1:12:32going to show up your secondary a whole lot more.
- 1:12:34Not to mention the cap hit that you're going
- 1:12:37to take this year, $5 .4 million. Now, yes, you're
- 1:12:40going to have to figure out what you're going
- 1:12:41to do after this season, but we'll cross that
- 1:12:44bridge when we cross that bridge. And even then...
- 1:12:48I don't think he's due top five or top three
- 1:12:51quarterback money. I think if you give him maybe
- 1:12:53around 22, maybe 23 million a year, I think no
- 1:12:57one's complaining about it, honestly. Bradley
- 1:13:00Chubb, I think he's definitely going to get traded.
- 1:13:02And I think you can give Bradley Chubb for a
- 1:13:04steal. I think you can get him for maybe a fourth,
- 1:13:08maybe fifth round pick, I would say. I don't
- 1:13:11think no one is giving up a third round pick
- 1:13:13for Bradley Chubb. Not with this crazy contract,
- 1:13:15no. Now, I think the 49ers, Ravens, Bills, Chargers,
- 1:13:19Cowboys, and Eagles should all be interested
- 1:13:21in this. Now, his cap hit this year is $12 .3
- 1:13:25million. Mind you, they did do a restructure,
- 1:13:28I think, either this year or last year. But his
- 1:13:32base salary in 26 is $19 .4, and then his base
- 1:13:36salary in 27 is $18 .4 million. So it's not that
- 1:13:40bad of a contract. It's just my thing is... Why
- 1:13:43would I give up high compensation for somebody
- 1:13:45that really hasn't been productive since being
- 1:13:48with the Dolphins? Just saying. Now, when we
- 1:13:51talk about Trevon Diggs, I'm a little bit undecided.
- 1:13:53And the reason why I say that is because any
- 1:13:56team that would be interested in him will most
- 1:13:58likely be teams within their division. And I
- 1:14:01don't think Jerry Jones is going to give Howie
- 1:14:03Trevon Diggs. That's like the Steelers giving
- 1:14:07TJ Watt to the Browns. If he was to make Trevon
- 1:14:11Diggs available, I think the Ravens, 49ers, Commanders,
- 1:14:15Bears, Colts, and Bucks may be interested in
- 1:14:18him. Now, you could automatically disqualify
- 1:14:20the Commanders because, again, division rivals,
- 1:14:23and I don't think that would happen anyway, but
- 1:14:24crazier things have happened. But if you're any
- 1:14:28of those other teams, I feel like you should
- 1:14:31probably call in for the Cowboys and see what's
- 1:14:33the asking price for Trevon Diggs. Now, you already
- 1:14:35know Jerry Jones is going to drive up the price.
- 1:14:38He's probably going to say a second round pick,
- 1:14:40even though most likely Trevon Diggs is worth
- 1:14:42maybe a third or fourth round pick. And let's
- 1:14:44keep this thing going. Chris Alave, I do believe
- 1:14:47he's going to get traded. It's between him or
- 1:14:49Rashid Shaeed. But with Chris Alave, he's on
- 1:14:52his rookie deal, of course. They did pick up
- 1:14:55his fifth year option. So most likely you are
- 1:14:57going to have to pay him. Now his market value,
- 1:15:00I don't know on my head. My guess is... It's
- 1:15:03between 20 and maybe 28 million a year. I'm not
- 1:15:06going over 28 for Chris Alave. I'm sorry. You
- 1:15:09have concussion problems and you really can't
- 1:15:11stay healthy. Just being completely honest here.
- 1:15:14But if he was to get traded, I do believe the
- 1:15:17Steelers, Commanders, 49ers, Chiefs, Browns,
- 1:15:20and Titans would all be interested in him. But
- 1:15:22I do believe the Steelers, Commanders, and 49ers,
- 1:15:25and Chiefs will probably be more interested in
- 1:15:28him. And the only reason why I say that is because...
- 1:15:30All of them need another receiver, especially
- 1:15:33the Steelers. Now, the question is, what would
- 1:15:36be the asking price for someone like a Chris
- 1:15:38Alave? My guess is, is maybe a second round pick,
- 1:15:43maybe a third. If they're asking for a first
- 1:15:46round pick for Chris Alave, you're out of your
- 1:15:48mind because I'm not doing that. But a second,
- 1:15:51I may not like it, but. If it means that I have
- 1:15:56a wide receiver too and somebody that's going
- 1:15:59to be with the team for the long run, well, then
- 1:16:01I have to do what I have to do. If DK Metcalf
- 1:16:03can get traded for a second round pick, Chris
- 1:16:05Olave can get traded for a second or third round
- 1:16:07pick. Just saying. Russell Wilson, trade it.
- 1:16:10The only team that I could think of is the Raiders.
- 1:16:13And the only reason why I say that is because
- 1:16:15he can reunite with Pete Carroll. Now, the question
- 1:16:18is this. How long is Russell Wilson going to
- 1:16:21sit behind Jackson Dart? Because we all know
- 1:16:24at some point Russell Wilson is going to get
- 1:16:26a little bit antsy and then he's going to go
- 1:16:28to the media and everyone's going to be talking
- 1:16:30about, well, Russell Wilson is not happy with
- 1:16:33his role on the Giants and whatnot. So we all
- 1:16:36know that's going to happen within the next few
- 1:16:38weeks. Just stay tuned for that. You already
- 1:16:40know, right? Now let's talk about Jalen Phillips.
- 1:16:42Trading. I think right now if you're a team that
- 1:16:46wants a young pass rusher that, quite frankly,
- 1:16:49you can give him an extension that's not going
- 1:16:50to break the bank. I would say make a trade for
- 1:16:53Jalen Phillips. Now, if you're the 49ers, Ravens,
- 1:16:56or Eagles, I feel like you guys should be on
- 1:16:58the phone with them right now. I think you can
- 1:17:01get Jalen Phillips for a fifth round pick. Because,
- 1:17:05I mean, this year he really has been playing
- 1:17:07well. None of the pass rushers on the Dolphins
- 1:17:10have been playing well. So I think that should
- 1:17:13be more of a reason for any of those teams to
- 1:17:15make a trade for him. Now, with Rasheed Shaheed,
- 1:17:19one of two things are going to happen. Either
- 1:17:21he's going to stay or he's going to be traded.
- 1:17:23Now, I will say this. If you're trading for Rashid
- 1:17:26Shaheed, just know he's just a season rental.
- 1:17:29Because after this season, he's an unrestricted
- 1:17:32free agent. Now, if he was to be traded, I think
- 1:17:35the Steelers, 49ers, Browns, Commanders, Titans,
- 1:17:38and Chiefs shall all inquire about him. Because
- 1:17:41he is having a good year this year. The question
- 1:17:44is, would you be willing to give up whatever
- 1:17:48the Saints are asking for? Because either Chris
- 1:17:51Alave or Rasheed Shaheed is getting traded. One
- 1:17:54of the two, not the both of them. Now, if I'm
- 1:17:57the Saints, I think I would probably trade away
- 1:18:01Chris Alave because I can get more with Chris
- 1:18:03Alave than I could with Rasheed Shaheed. But
- 1:18:06that's just my personal opinion. And I think
- 1:18:09you can give Rasheed Shaheed. maybe a two or
- 1:18:12three year extension that it's not really going
- 1:18:14to break the bank, but at the same time, it's
- 1:18:17a reliable weapon that's going to stay here for
- 1:18:19when the next quarterback gets drafted. Just
- 1:18:21saying. Al -Azhar traded. And the only reason
- 1:18:25why I say that is because his role on this offense
- 1:18:28has dwindled as the season progresses. So that
- 1:18:31lets me know that he's falling out of the good
- 1:18:33graces of this team. Now, if I'm the Steelers,
- 1:18:36reunite him with Aaron Rodgers. If I'm the 49ers,
- 1:18:39Chiefs, Titans, Commanders, It's a bigger body
- 1:18:42receiver, red zone threat, don't have to give
- 1:18:44up a whole lot to get him. I would do it. I mean,
- 1:18:47his cap hit this year is only $4 .1 million with
- 1:18:50a base salary of only $1 .7 million. That's not
- 1:18:52bad. Now, when you make this move, just know
- 1:18:56he's only a seasoned rental. So after this season,
- 1:19:00you're going to have to figure out what you're
- 1:19:02going to do with him. Are you going to give him
- 1:19:03an extension or are you going to let him know?
- 1:19:06Now, there was a few other people that was thinking
- 1:19:08about putting him on this list, but I was like,
- 1:19:10you know what? No, it's not worth it. It really
- 1:19:13isn't because a lot of those players are probably
- 1:19:15going to stay with the team anyway. If there's
- 1:19:18anybody I'm thinking of, maybe I'll talk about
- 1:19:20it in the next episode. I don't know, but I want
- 1:19:22to end this episode here. If you guys like what
