- 0:02S1: A listener production.
- 0:04S2: That cleaning spills and split and bills. It's Matt and
- 0:07S2: Alex all day breakfast.
- 0:10S3: All right. Do you think there was a horror quake
- 0:11S3: in California? Did you see that? Well, I assumed when
- 0:16S3: they said that horror quake in Hollywood that it was
- 0:18S3: a new movie alongside Sharknado. And like the Meg.
- 0:24S4: You know, you know, Shaq would be in that movie
- 0:27S4: Horror Quake like a basketball that accidentally sets off some
- 0:31S4: epic storm after he dunks so hard on someone.
- 0:34S3: It would be something like that.
- 0:35S4: But no, apparently it was an earthquake. First they were
- 0:39S4: hit with a hurricane. Okay. Because there's a tropical storm.
- 0:42S4: Hillary has been sweeping through California and then they got
- 0:46S4: the earthquake.
- 0:48S3: Who was it? The bureau. Surely they know what they're
- 0:50S3: doing because as they get named, as I go through,
- 0:53S3: I think it's each letter of the alphabet, isn't it? Yeah.
- 0:55S3: And it got up to H. Why did they choose?
- 0:58S3: I'm sure it's someone who's going for Donald Trump's three.
- 1:01S4: Yeah. You're on that election campaign.
- 1:04S3: They go, What are we going to call this one?
- 1:05S3: It's a hatch coming up. We got Helen.
- 1:07S4: Yeah, yeah. If anything's good. A bloody ruin in America.
- 1:10S5: All right.
- 1:11S3: All right. I just say, look into the bureau. I
- 1:14S3: don't know who was on that shift, but just see
- 1:16S3: whether they've got a little red baseball cap on. That's
- 1:20S3: all I'm saying to you.
- 1:21S4: Well, look, hoping everyone is okay in America. They've been
- 1:24S4: here and they spelt.
- 1:25S3: It with one L instead of two or vice versa.
- 1:27S3: But I reckon they knew what they were doing.
- 1:29S4: Well, I mean, you know, there's only one l left
- 1:32S4: after she took the other l i in the last election.
- 1:37S3: Oh, it's interesting. Like this week, Donald Trump having to
- 1:39S3: go and get, I guess, quote unquote arrested in Georgia
- 1:42S3: because he got indicted on another charge.
- 1:45S4: I heard that he's planning on doing it tomorrow to
- 1:48S4: take away from the because the Republican debate is happening today. Yeah.
- 1:53S4: And so as soon as like all the conversation around
- 1:55S4: that is just going to get sucked out of the
- 1:58S4: room by getting arrested. I mean, the guy is just
- 2:04S4: out there. Yeah.
- 2:05S3: Look, anyway, we've got other things to talk, more important things,
- 2:07S3: but things closer to home and nothing's closer to home.
- 2:10S3: Do you know.
- 2:10S4: What? Why was I doing all this press for mother
- 2:13S4: and son when I could have just gotten impeached? I
- 2:18S4: don't know what I was thinking.
- 2:19S3: Yeah. There seems to be no such thing as bad publicity.
- 2:22S3: He leads the next closest Republican frontrunner, Ron DeSantis, by
- 2:27S3: about 40 points.
- 2:28S4: Even though he's been arrested, as in running the country
- 2:31S4: from jail, people would still be like, Hey, go.
- 2:34S3: I read a Guardian article saying it's his best chance
- 2:36S3: to avoid jail is become president.
- 2:40S4: All right.
- 2:42S3: So anyway, we're talking about things closer to home, but
- 2:43S3: nothing's closer to home. In fact, about 1.2m away from
- 2:46S3: me right now sits Meadow Kine. He is here. I
- 2:50S3: got to catch up last night. We're going to talk
- 2:51S3: all about it and why in a moment. This is
- 2:53S3: Matt and Alex all day. Breakfast.
- 2:55S6: This is just the start. Everyone ready?
- 2:57S7: Let's get this show on the road.
- 2:58S8: Let's go. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go.
- 3:00S8: Matt and Alex all day. Breakfast.
- 3:05S3: Well, it was an absolute pleasure last night to wander
- 3:08S3: along to Federation Square and check out the first two
- 3:12S3: episodes of the brand new ABC series Mother and Son,
- 3:15S3: starring and co-written by Mr. Matt O'Connor, who sits in
- 3:19S3: the same room as me right now, mate.
- 3:21S4: Can you believe we're all in the same? We could
- 3:22S4: all touch, reach out to each other and touch hands.
- 3:25S4: Let's do it. Come on, Bron. Reach out. Reach out.
- 3:28S4: Can't reach anyways. Now, look, it's really great that it's
- 3:32S4: finally out there, you know, tonight, because it's been nerve
- 3:35S4: wracking and there's been elements to it, obviously, that have
- 3:38S4: been quite, you know, complicated when you're looking at putting
- 3:43S4: together a show. It's quite a complex kind of beast
- 3:46S4: to be making, especially with the amount of criticism that's been,
- 3:49S4: you know, thrown around regarding even the idea of remaking it.
- 3:54S4: And then, of course, the situation with Denise Scott, who
- 3:59S4: has just shown to be an absolute hero.
- 4:01S3: But that's what I wanted to chat to you about,
- 4:02S3: because the show is great. You should definitely go and
- 4:05S3: watch it tonight on ABC. But the fact that Australia
- 4:08S3: was one of the best and most well-loved comedians, Denise
- 4:11S3: Scott managed to film the whole series whilst doing chemotherapy.
- 4:17S9: Yeah.
- 4:18S3: For cancer. How are you able to explain just what
- 4:23S3: had to happen in order for this miraculous achievement to
- 4:28S3: take place?
- 4:29S4: It was so amazing. I will say, like genuinely amazing.
- 4:33S4: I think everyone on set was in awe of her
- 4:37S4: because chemo is I mean, it's poison. Like they're literally
- 4:42S4: poisoning you. So imagine you're getting poisoned and then you've
- 4:45S4: got to do a 12 hour day where you're just
- 4:48S4: doing the dumbest shit. Like, it's so silly. Yeah. Like
- 4:53S4: every there's.
- 4:53S3: A lot of there's a lot of waiting around on
- 4:55S3: film sets.
- 4:56S4: Yeah, well, not in this set because she's in every
- 4:59S4: single scene so she's in it's mother and son. She
- 5:02S4: is the number one actor. She is in literally every
- 5:07S4: single scene. So like that she was 12 hours a day.
- 5:11S4: And it's not little scenes. Like there'd be times where
- 5:14S4: she's going like, Matt, could you just written a scene
- 5:17S4: where I was sitting in a chair, for God's sake,
- 5:20S4: why am I dancing through the living room, jumping on
- 5:23S4: the couch, running around with an urn, smoking? You had
- 5:27S4: to do this smoking scene? No. Matt, Why would you
- 5:31S4: do that to our national treasure? Denise? And what are
- 5:34S4: you doing that were in the script?
- 5:37S3: Are they. Are they like fake cigarettes?
- 5:39S4: And you're using fake cigarettes? And even some of them
- 5:41S4: we had to like. I mean, I don't want to
- 5:43S4: give too much of the movie magic away, but you
- 5:45S4: actually have to like add smoke like VFX, some smoke.
- 5:49S3: CGI smoke.
- 5:50S4: Is so good, which I tell you what, when you're like, Oh,
- 5:55S4: when you've been making a show for five months and
- 5:57S4: you're like sitting there going like, okay, currently the smoke
- 6:01S4: looks a little bit like she's a dragon. Can we just, um,
- 6:05S4: can we just make the jets of cigarette smoke just
- 6:09S4: plume a little less long? Lengthy emails describing the way
- 6:13S4: smoke should come out of people's mouths. It's like, what
- 6:15S4: am I doing.
- 6:16S3: To make it less look like Denise Scott is destroying
- 6:18S3: King's Landing from Game of.
- 6:21S4: Thrones? But yeah, look, I can't say I can't talk
- 6:24S4: too much about Denise's experience because I'm not Denise. But
- 6:27S4: what I can say from my perspective is that she
- 6:29S4: was just someone who who lifted the spirit of the, um,
- 6:34S4: the whole show so much and just, you know, I
- 6:37S4: think everyone in that set put in a little bit
- 6:39S4: of extra because they were like, Well, if she can
- 6:41S4: do it, we can do it. And it really made
- 6:44S4: everyone kind of feel like, Hey, we're doing this for
- 6:47S4: a good reason.
- 6:48S3: Absolutely. And the amazing thing is you had to sort
- 6:50S3: of start filming a little bit of it like Austin Powers, where,
- 6:55S3: you know, Mike Myers plays both Austin Powers and Dr. Evil.
- 6:59S3: And so when Austin Powers is talking to Dr. Evil,
- 7:02S3: it's some other person in a ball.
- 7:04S4: Tracy.
- 7:06S3: Tracy So and so when Denise was off getting chemotherapy
- 7:10S3: to try and help deal with her cancer was Tracy
- 7:15S3: you said was standing in for Denise.
- 7:17S4: Had never acted in her life by the end was
- 7:20S4: basically directing the show just like it just just got
- 7:24S4: a full blown crash course She had honestly never directed.
- 7:27S4: She just she her son and daughter are actors. And
- 7:31S4: so she would often look at their like agents, castings
- 7:34S4: and stuff. And one day they were like, Hey, we
- 7:37S4: need someone who looks exactly like this. Who is this height?
- 7:40S4: Who has this color hair that's this long? And Tracy
- 7:43S4: was like, That's me, I think. And then suddenly is
- 7:48S4: on set every single day of the week of the
- 7:51S4: whole shoot. Two months standing there every single day ready,
- 7:55S4: pretending to dig holes, pretending to lie on chicken coops
- 7:58S4: and run through the streets, you know, like it was. Yeah,
- 8:01S4: there was. There was so much that we had to,
- 8:03S4: you know, that she had to do and learn in
- 8:05S4: the moment.
- 8:06S3: And how's that for you? Just sort of pivoting a
- 8:07S3: little bit like personally as an actor acting. I mean,
- 8:11S3: you've obviously acting alongside Denise. You get to know her.
- 8:15S3: But when Tracy is standing in and you've got to
- 8:17S3: do the same sort of roles but to a different face,
- 8:19S3: how does that sort of play into your acting experience?
- 8:22S4: I mean, it's fine. It's absolutely fine. It's a little
- 8:26S4: bit weird when you're trying to, like be super dramatic
- 8:28S4: and the person opposite you is holding like a script
- 8:31S4: in their hands and like reading everything.
- 8:34S3: It's knocked out a shot.
- 8:35S4: Yeah, but. But no, it's fine. The main thing was
- 8:37S4: worrying about. Denise, because, I mean, you know, my mum
- 8:42S4: died when I was 12 of cancer, of breast cancer
- 8:45S4: as well. So when we found out what was going on,
- 8:50S4: there was never a moment where I didn't think it
- 8:55S4: could turn bad really quickly. And in those situations, you know,
- 8:59S4: it's there's so much more. Like there's so much more
- 9:04S4: at stake than a show. And I never really like
- 9:08S4: I was always worried about that capacity because Geordie is
- 9:11S4: her son in real life, Geordie and Bonnie is a daughter,
- 9:15S4: and Geordie actually worked on the show. He made music,
- 9:17S4: he made, he did the soundtrack. Geordie Laine I think,
- 9:20S4: you know, you would have.
- 9:21S3: Already Line Yeah, incredible music.
- 9:23S4: So the whole time I kept just going like, I mean,
- 9:27S4: a show is a show. But a mom is is,
- 9:31S4: you know, irreplaceable. So it was like it just didn't.
- 9:36S4: None of it really mattered. I'm really glad. I'm really
- 9:39S4: glad that what we've got we've got and I'm really
- 9:41S4: proud of the show. But ultimately it's like more important
- 9:43S4: that that Denise Scott is still around and healthy. Well, it.
- 9:48S3: Just adds an extra element to the incredible achievement of
- 9:52S3: bringing this show to life. Mother and Son, It is
- 9:54S3: premiering tonight, so you get to see the real thing.
- 9:56S3: If you tune in to ABC at 830 or as
- 10:00S3: they always do, there's the eye view. So just watch
- 10:01S3: it whenever you like. It'll be great.
- 10:09S10: That was my throat.
- 10:12S4: You don't have to.
- 10:12S3: I think.
- 10:13S4: Fine yourself.
- 10:14S3: I think I recorded that. I think if we go
- 10:16S3: back to the tape, we can. Yep. No, there it is.
- 10:20S3: There it is.
- 10:20S4: All right, well, look, we're starting off today's episode with that.
- 10:25S4: Growl or whatever it is. It was just.
- 10:27S3: A background gurgle, I call it.
- 10:30S4: And we're looking at chess. Have you seen this news
- 10:34S4: coming out of the International Chess Federation? Feed a Fidesz feed.
- 10:40S3: Instead of FIFA feed day?
- 10:41S4: Oh, okay. I was thinking more of p-day. You know,
- 10:43S4: Pieds petits.
- 10:44S3: Bidets are delicious. Yeah. Yeah. I almost bought a p-day
- 10:48S3: the other day, but they're very excited on the stuffed cabbage. Oh.
- 10:53S4: That's. Yeah. Bronze faces. Wrong. All right.
- 10:56S3: I think I've been eating too many carbs, and I'm like,
- 10:58S3: This might get me away from. I need to munch
- 11:00S3: bread as well.
- 11:00S4: It's pretty like I was as I was eating my
- 11:02S4: fish and chips yesterday, I thought too much.
- 11:05S3: Well, I think the world needs to decarbonize and we
- 11:10S3: need to decarbonize in the same manner.
- 11:11S4: I'd be shivering in my boots if I was Carbonaro
- 11:14S4: Because that in itself, the name gives it away. Like
- 11:18S4: you can't hide under a bush when you called it.
- 11:20S3: Yeah.
- 11:21S4: So International Chess Federation says it's temporarily banning transgender women
- 11:28S4: from competing in its women's event.
- 11:30S3: So wait. Previously they were allowed to compete in the
- 11:33S3: women's event.
- 11:35S4: Previously there was no women's event, I believe, as in
- 11:38S4: like a while ago, there was no women's event at all.
- 11:42S4: Then they were like, Oh, let's give.
- 11:44S3: What the International Chess Federation didn't have a women's event.
- 11:47S4: I don't think so. You know.
- 11:47S3: Shooting. Why would you why isn't everyone just in the
- 11:50S3: same event from the. It's been going for thousands of years.
- 11:54S4: What, shooting trap? Shooting? I think it is. In the 70s,
- 11:58S4: there was just it was just shooting. There was no
- 12:00S4: like men's and women's. Then there was like quite a
- 12:03S4: successful women's shooter who won a silver medal. And the
- 12:06S4: lads are like. Let's give him their own. Let's. Let's
- 12:11S4: give them their own. It's good to promote women in
- 12:13S4: the sport. So bloody weapons. Stop stealing our.
- 12:17S3: Medals. So prior to that, there was no segregation? No.
- 12:21S3: And they brought it in because a silver went to
- 12:24S3: a female competitor.
- 12:25S4: Now, here's the thing. The argument is that women having
- 12:28S4: their own events in chess promote women in chess. Okay. Right.
- 12:33S4: So you're trying to you are what you see. And
- 12:38S4: so to have women own the events, then it makes
- 12:41S4: girls go, oh, maybe I can be like that chess star.
- 12:47S3: Sir. But why can't they be like that chess star
- 12:51S3: who plays in open tournaments?
- 12:55S4: You're acting like I'm the person who made the decision.
- 12:58S4: I've never follow.
- 12:59S3: This person on TikTok. I'm watching chess. This girl, amazing
- 13:02S3: at chess, goes and plays people in the park. It's
- 13:05S3: very entertaining. Right?
- 13:07S4: Here's what they're up against. Women in chess, by the way,
- 13:10S4: as recently as 2015. This is by the guardian.com. It's
- 13:14S4: an opinion piece. But this is a fact as written
- 13:17S4: as recently recently as 2015. Nigel Short, the then vice
- 13:22S4: president of the World Chess Federation. Fader claimed that men
- 13:26S4: are hardwired to be better chess players than women, adding,
- 13:30S4: You have to gracefully you have to gracefully accept that.
- 13:34S4: Now this is what this writer has then written. The
- 13:37S4: English grandmaster went on to explain It was clear men
- 13:40S4: and women's brains are different because he helps his wife
- 13:43S4: get the car out of the garage and she has
- 13:45S4: more emotional intelligence than him. Could you? I mean, that
- 13:51S4: wasn't in like 15, 15. That was in 2015.
- 13:57S3: So seven, eight years ago. Yeah. Also.
- 14:01S4: According to this writer, Nigel Short, that guy got beaten
- 14:04S4: by a woman. Judit Polgar has a winning record against.
- 14:09S3: Him, so they probably went wrong with his hard wiring
- 14:11S3: there in chess. The queen.
- 14:17S4: The best piece. Yeah. The king is useless. Exactly right. Absolutely. Yeah.
- 14:23S4: What's going.
- 14:23S3: On here?
- 14:25S4: Oh, I don't know. Um. I mean, and the idea. Okay,
- 14:29S4: so here's the thing. The most of the arguments about
- 14:32S4: transgender women in sport would revolve around the physicality.
- 14:37S3: Yes.
- 14:38S4: Um, I'm not a scientist, so I don't know, but
- 14:41S4: I'm just going to say words like testosterone and estrogen
- 14:44S4: and stuff.
- 14:45S3: Well, don't be a Nigel and start saying things that
- 14:49S3: you're not qualified to say.
- 14:51S4: I certainly won't. All right.
- 14:54S3: I read that both figuratively and literally in the case
- 14:57S3: of this, the.
- 14:57S4: Thing that I want to bring up. Okay. Because the
- 15:00S4: argument would be for some reason that Nigel thinks that,
- 15:03S4: you know, women aren't hardwired to play chess. Right? A
- 15:06S4: game of the mind, a battle of the mind. Right.
- 15:09S4: Because he backs his partner's car. So it's not like
- 15:13S4: it's not like, Why do.
- 15:14S3: You say that? Because I.
- 15:15S4: So it's not my wife's car.
- 15:16S3: It's not like.
- 15:17S4: Women can't play chess because they put the piece in
- 15:19S4: the wrong square. Like, that's the argument that he's using
- 15:22S4: because their spatial awareness is slightly different. They might be
- 15:26S4: making mistakes on on what? Where they put the piece.
- 15:31S4: But the other thing is this conversation came up on
- 15:34S4: the weekend because we were at dinner with some friends
- 15:36S4: and my partner was asking about guys wrestling, you know,
- 15:39S4: like not like this sport wrestling, but like. Do you
- 15:43S4: like it? Do you have friends that wrestle?
- 15:46S3: Oh. Growing up in bloody high school, you'd have a
- 15:49S3: some person who tried, like, put you in a headlock
- 15:53S3: for no reason. Right, Right. Why are we doing this?
- 15:57S4: I was, like, saying, like, I don't know. There might
- 15:59S4: be some. I mean, I'm sure that there's plenty of
- 16:01S4: women out there who do understand, but there might be
- 16:03S4: some who don't quite understand that, like sleepovers for guys
- 16:06S4: in high school, there would always be like someone who wrestled,
- 16:12S4: like you'd be wrestling and like, you'd be, like, falling
- 16:15S4: off the bed, like wrestling, like, ah.
- 16:18S3: Let me go, like, too serious too.
- 16:20S4: Quickly. And that's what you did. And I was talking
- 16:23S4: about it with my partner and our other friend, and
- 16:26S4: I was like, So what was the what was the
- 16:28S4: wrestling equivalent for girls in high school? And they both
- 16:32S4: unanimously agreed. And Brian, maybe you can just help. Help
- 16:36S4: me out of here. If it was just girls being
- 16:40S4: super mean to each other, it seemed like.
- 16:45S11: What do you mean?
- 16:45S4: Like being, like pretending to whisper about one another and then, like, giggling.
- 16:50S4: You're like, Oh.
- 16:53S11: It's like if I was over at a friend's.
- 16:55S4: Place and two guys started whispering to each other and
- 16:59S4: then laughing and pointing at me, I'd be like, Guys, what?
- 17:02S4: What are you doing? Like, why are you being mean
- 17:05S4: to me?
- 17:06S3: Would you take the wrestling or the fake whispering?
- 17:08S4: I'd be like, Come on, just find me guys. There's
- 17:11S4: no need for this psychological warfare.
- 17:14S11: Well, I don't remember that, to be honest.
- 17:16S3: Where does farting on the other person's pillow come into this?
- 17:20S3: Because that's.
- 17:21S4: I mean, that's just childish, okay? And that's. There's no
- 17:26S4: that wouldn't.
- 17:27S3: Happen to girls sleepovers.
- 17:28S11: Bron You know what?
- 17:29S10: I really remember being a things like trying to do
- 17:31S10: an all nighter was like a big deal.
- 17:33S11: Yeah, but what about against each other?
- 17:34S4: How did you flex your muscles against each other? Because
- 17:37S4: this seems to be like a psychological warfare, that the
- 17:40S4: girls were able to go against each other. And in
- 17:43S4: this case, when it comes to game of chess, there
- 17:46S4: is nothing more like headstrong and psychologically intimidating than gossiping
- 17:52S4: and pretending to, like whisper about people and telling them
- 17:55S4: they smell and stuff. Just outright bullying. Like, that's.
- 17:59S11: Brutal.
- 17:59S10: I don't have memories.
- 18:02S4: All right. Well, maybe it was maybe it was just the.
- 18:05S4: The circles that I hang out with. Yeah. So, look,
- 18:09S4: as far as I'm concerned. Women are just as hard
- 18:12S4: wired to be playing a game of a battle of
- 18:17S4: the mind. That's for damn sure. But look, who knows
- 18:21S4: what's going to happen with this. Trans women in chess
- 18:23S4: stuff it's going to take apparently could take a couple
- 18:26S4: of years for them to wait for the, um, what
- 18:30S4: is it for them to figure out whether it will
- 18:33S4: affect the game or not? And this a weird thing.
- 18:38S4: Fadi wrote in an email responding to criticism. Of course,
- 18:40S4: men and women are equally intellectually capable, however, in chess
- 18:43S4: as a sport. Other factors like physical endurance may play
- 18:47S4: a role. What?
- 18:51S10: That was a recent quote.
- 18:53S4: What am I. Am I. Are we talking about the
- 18:57S4: same game? So doubting that it's tiring.
- 19:00S3: But hang on. A trans women are going to be weird.
- 19:04S3: Which category do they compete? Are they banned from everything?
- 19:07S4: I honestly don't.
- 19:08S3: Know. There was the Miss Italy competition recently. No. In solidarity.
- 19:13S3: A whole bunch of biologically, you know, biologically born women
- 19:17S3: who have transitioned to to male all entered the the
- 19:20S3: Miss Italy.
- 19:22S4: Know so I believe that.
- 19:24S3: To show how silly that particular ban was.
- 19:27S4: No I believe that they're still allowed to play in
- 19:29S4: the open categories. It's just they're not allowed to play
- 19:32S4: against just the women anyways.
- 19:35S3: Oh, man.
- 19:36S4: The porn is in your court Friday.
- 19:40S3: Porn is on your board.
- 19:41S4: I don't know. I told you I don't watch it much,
- 19:45S4: and it's just given me another reason not to watch it.
- 20:09S3: Matt, yesterday you told a story here on all day
- 20:12S3: breakfast of rocking up to an extremely fancy lunch. Was
- 20:16S3: it a bottle of moonshine? What did you come with again? It.
- 20:18S3: Was that what you rocked up with?
- 20:23S4: Yeah. Look, Hayden Quinn, Master chef, Star, you know, very
- 20:28S4: famous television chef cook. Um, great guy. Genuinely such a
- 20:32S4: nice guy. Brought a very nice bottle of wine to
- 20:36S4: everyone that he'd kept under his bed for 18 years.
- 20:38S4: It was a present from his 18th for his from
- 20:40S4: his dad.
- 20:41S3: Matt said to the drive through bottle. Oh, no, let's
- 20:45S3: just have something slightly fancier. Came in with a $35
- 20:49S3: bottle of plonk. And I tell you what. Oh man,
- 20:52S3: that's what I did. It absolutely plonked the mood at
- 20:55S3: this particular dinner party. But that is all yesterday. So
- 20:59S3: go back and listen if you like. But it did
- 21:00S3: remind me of like because I was picturing you in
- 21:02S3: this situation, knowing that in your backpack you had this
- 21:07S3: this underdressed wine ready to bring out. I was thinking like,
- 21:11S3: would you go and hide it? What do you do?
- 21:12S3: It reminded me of something that happened while ago now,
- 21:15S3: when my friend was getting married. Okay. I went out
- 21:17S3: to get a. A present to give them for their wedding. Okay.
- 21:24S3: Because I wasn't going to be able to make it.
- 21:25S3: I was there a week beforehand and I went round
- 21:28S3: to their house and what I do, I was in
- 21:30S3: a local art shop and there was this nice looking print.
- 21:33S3: This was like this hand-drawn owl picture local artist. I thought, Awesome,
- 21:38S3: this will be great. That'll look amazing on the wall.
- 21:41S3: Wrap it up, get the gift, Go out there. It's
- 21:43S3: sitting in the car. We're having a bit of a
- 21:45S3: chat and I think before I go, I'll go out
- 21:46S3: and grab it and bring it in and wish them
- 21:48S3: a very happy nuptials. Sitting in the house and my
- 21:53S3: girlfriend at the time, like literally it's like that elbow
- 21:56S3: nudge from a movie, like look up, look up on
- 22:00S3: the wall. I look up on the wall, there is
- 22:02S3: the exact same al hand-drawn prints on the wall. And
- 22:10S3: I think I brought in the present maybe and put
- 22:12S3: it behind the couch. And so I had to go
- 22:14S3: and sort of like pick it up and take it
- 22:17S3: back out of the house to the car because I.
- 22:22S11: Couldn't give him my.
- 22:23S4: God, Could you imagine if you'd gotten busted walking out
- 22:25S4: with the present like.
- 22:27S11: He's.
- 22:27S4: Stealing my present, You're taking my present back.
- 22:30S3: But I couldn't believe it. The same gift.
- 22:34S4: The positive is that, you know, they taste like that.
- 22:37S4: That got.
- 22:37S3: Immaculate taste. And I went back and there was a
- 22:39S3: few other prints of different animals. I ended up back
- 22:41S3: and going getting a rabbit print. And so they had
- 22:43S3: like now matching matching prints.
- 22:45S4: So you ducked out. You actually left the party and
- 22:48S4: went and got a new one.
- 22:49S3: Smoke bombs went back. I didn't do it that day.
- 22:52S3: Like I took about returned it the next day and
- 22:54S3: like drove back out and gave it to them and
- 22:56S3: explained the situation because it was quite hilarious. But yeah,
- 22:59S3: it just reminded me of like when you, you sense
- 23:02S3: in the moment I've got to quickly swap something out here.
- 23:07S3: So we asked you, when have you done the old switcheroo?
- 23:10S3: Lincoln said, I used to carefully peel off the plastic
- 23:12S3: seal on my brother's box of favorites, chocolates and swap
- 23:16S3: over all my crappy bounty and morrow for his good ones.
- 23:20S3: And then just put them back. Very. So you've got two.
- 23:24S3: You eat half of what you want, that you take
- 23:26S3: the good half from the other one. You take them out,
- 23:28S3: load it with the rubbish.
- 23:29S4: What. No, I don't agree with you with bounty being
- 23:32S4: declared a crappy bar.
- 23:33S3: But bounty.
- 23:34S4: Stinks. Nah, but morrow. I mean, come.
- 23:36S3: On, give me morrow every day of the.
- 23:38S11: Week. Are you kidding me? It's the New.
- 23:39S3: Zealand Mars bar.
- 23:40S4: No, it's. It is. It does not shine a candle
- 23:44S4: to the Mars.
- 23:46S11: All right? It might not.
- 23:47S3: Be a mars level, but it is leaps and bounds
- 23:50S3: ahead of the.
- 23:50S4: Bounty. Also, the bounty is isn't the bounty mars. Bounty
- 23:57S4: is Mars. I'm pretty.
- 23:57S3: Sure I've seen the.
- 23:58S4: Favorite. So something else? Something else.
- 24:01S3: Who knows what's going on? We've also got Jake calling
- 24:03S3: us right now today. Jake.
- 24:05S12: Hey, there you go.
- 24:05S4: Good. Thanks, Jake. Now, you had a little switcheroo with
- 24:09S4: your housemate.
- 24:10S12: Yeah. Yeah. So I used to do the old sneaky
- 24:13S12: and just start switches on these out. He's old hole
- 24:16S12: filled bloody undies and just take my ones because we
- 24:19S12: bought the same brand.
- 24:21S4: And so why. So he just went through his a
- 24:24S4: bit quicker did he.
- 24:26S12: Yeah I suppose so. I don't know what he was
- 24:28S12: up to. Yeah.
- 24:30S3: Wait, so he's he used to swap yours in and.
- 24:34S12: Yeah. I used to take my good ones. Give me
- 24:36S12: the whole one.
- 24:37S4: Oh there's nothing, there's nothing more annoying than that because
- 24:40S4: I'm sure you'll like me, Jake. You got a couple
- 24:42S4: of nice ones that when it's date night you're working
- 24:45S4: on the you're working on the good ones, and suddenly
- 24:47S4: you find everything's hanging out.
- 24:50S12: Yeah. I didn't think I was going to notice.
- 24:52S11: Well.
- 24:54S3: Sort of holes. Just see seem to appear on Andy's.
- 24:57S3: How do you know that? You weren't just making the
- 24:59S3: holes yourself.
- 25:01S12: Well, look, I don't know what universe he lived in, man.
- 25:04S4: This guy's walking around wearing a block. A Swiss cheese,
- 25:06S4: it sounds like. All right, well, look, we hope you're
- 25:10S4: Andy's a hole free now. Jake, thanks very much for
- 25:12S4: getting in touch.
- 25:14S12: Have a good one. You, too.
- 25:16S3: And as always, if you've got a last minute switcheroo,
- 25:18S3: don't worry, send them through.
- 25:20S4: And thank you for listening to another Matt and Alex
- 25:23S4: all day. Breakfast. We sincerely hope we get to see
- 25:26S4: you same time, same place tomorrow.
- 25:28S3: That's the way we will catch you next time. Until then,
- 25:31S3: bye bye.
- 25:32S2: That's it. The all day breakfast kitchen is closed. Got
