- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, listen. In closing today, I want to remind you
- 0:04Speaker 1: all of something. I was talking with a buddy of
- 0:08Speaker 1: mine and he asked me, he said, he Harve, let
- 0:13Speaker 1: me ask you something, man, how many als you thank
- 0:16Speaker 1: you thene took in your life. When we talk als,
- 0:19Speaker 1: we mean losses. And I said, well, I really can't
- 0:24Speaker 1: count them. I done took so many l's. He said,
- 0:29Speaker 1: was it worth it, because you know we're talking about success.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I said, yeah, man, it was worth it. He said,
- 0:36Speaker 1: you mean to tell me you would do it all again,
- 0:39Speaker 1: just the way you did it. I said, well, it
- 0:42Speaker 1: would be painful, I said, but I realized that I
- 0:46Speaker 1: needed everything that happened to me to happen to me
- 0:48Speaker 1: just the way it was. I said, because what really
- 0:52Speaker 1: helped me, man, was those als. He said, what do
- 0:56Speaker 1: you mean? I said, because failure is a wonderful teacher.
- 1:03Speaker 1: You you won't learn anything better than when you fail.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Failure is a wonderful teacher. And if you start understanding that,
- 1:15Speaker 1: you can get better and better at it. Because them als,
- 1:18Speaker 1: I took all those losses. People looked at losses. I
- 1:22Speaker 1: looked at them as lessons. See, a loss is really
- 1:25Speaker 1: a lesson and if you start understanding that, it will
- 1:30Speaker 1: help you cope with the losses better. Now. I didn't
- 1:33Speaker 1: always know this. I didn't always know that my als
- 1:38Speaker 1: was lessons. But somewhere around my late thirties, I started
- 1:46Speaker 1: understanding them als a lot better, and I started realizing
- 1:50Speaker 1: that the als was a part of part of the process,
- 1:54Speaker 1: that them losses was a part of the stepping stones
- 1:58Speaker 1: you needed to get to work where you were going.
- 2:02Speaker 1: My father used to say something to me, and I
- 2:04Speaker 1: just didn't get it. He say, the best lesson is
- 2:07Speaker 1: a bout lesson. He say that to me all the time. Boy,
- 2:13Speaker 1: the best lesson is a bout lesson. So one day
- 2:16Speaker 1: he was riding from working. I said, Dad, when you
- 2:18Speaker 1: say that, what do you mean? He said, the best
- 2:21Speaker 1: lesson you'll ever get in life is the one you
- 2:23Speaker 1: have to buy, the one you pay for. That's a
- 2:26Speaker 1: bout lesson. And boy, boy, boy boy, was my daddy.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Right Lord, her Mercy, Lord her mercy. Have I not
- 2:36Speaker 1: learned that lesson? Well, so, y'all, if you would remember
- 2:40Speaker 1: that all these als you taking, quit looking at him
- 2:45Speaker 1: as losses, some of them. You know, it's it's some
- 2:48Speaker 1: losses out here, you know, When you lose a loved one.
- 2:54Speaker 1: That's a hard al man, that's a hard l to take,
- 3:00Speaker 1: But there's some lessons in that. How many times have
- 3:06Speaker 1: I heard the words of wisdom that my mother and
- 3:08Speaker 1: father have said to me over the years? Have I
- 3:12Speaker 1: heard in their absence? How many times has I heard
- 3:17Speaker 1: my mother's voice as I was coming into a meeting
- 3:21Speaker 1: or coming out of a meeting? How many times has
- 3:24Speaker 1: I heard my mother's voice man when I was in
- 3:28Speaker 1: the car, man really really concerned about a meeting I
- 3:33Speaker 1: was going into, or a meeting I was coming out of.
- 3:36Speaker 1: How many times have I heard her say, if you're
- 3:40Speaker 1: gonna pray about it, don't worry about it now. If
- 3:43Speaker 1: you're gonna worry about it, then don't pray about it.
- 3:47Speaker 1: How many times have I heard her say that? How
- 3:51Speaker 1: many times have I heard my mother say? God didn't
- 3:54Speaker 1: bring you this far to leave you. Do you know
- 3:57Speaker 1: how many times that has helped me walking in and
- 4:00Speaker 1: out of meetings? Do you know that I have stuck
- 4:04Speaker 1: my shoulders back and picked my chin up and got
- 4:08Speaker 1: my head up hell high walking in meeting because I
- 4:11Speaker 1: knew God didn't bring me this far to leave me.
- 4:14Speaker 1: That I knew that if God was for me, that
- 4:18Speaker 1: God was in that meeting before I got there. And
- 4:22Speaker 1: you know what I've really learned to do of late.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I just learned this over the last year. I stopped
- 4:26Speaker 1: worrying about who was in the meetings. I stopped you
- 4:29Speaker 1: know what I used to do. I used to have
- 4:31Speaker 1: my assistant pull up bios on everybody that was in
- 4:35Speaker 1: the meeting. You know that's just smart to do anyway, right,
- 4:38Speaker 1: But I used to go over to bios so I
- 4:40Speaker 1: could learn stuff about the people in the meetings and
- 4:43Speaker 1: then get in there and never use the information or
- 4:46Speaker 1: never bring it up. Didn't talk at half the people
- 4:48Speaker 1: that I learned all this information on. And then I
- 4:50Speaker 1: finally figured out something. If God is for me and
- 4:56Speaker 1: truly God, my relationship with God is to prosper. When
- 5:00Speaker 1: I go in these meetings, I don't no longer care
- 5:03Speaker 1: who in the meeting, because if God goes in there
- 5:08Speaker 1: before me, has spoken my name in rooms I know
- 5:11Speaker 1: nothing about. When I get in the meeting, you know
- 5:13Speaker 1: what I do now, I don't care who in there.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I look for God because if God is before me,
- 5:19Speaker 1: then I just go in to meet now and I
- 5:21Speaker 1: look for God and whoever God is operating through that day,
- 5:25Speaker 1: they will reveal theyself to me. Because I'm looking for
- 5:28Speaker 1: the God in the room. So the haters that's in there,
- 5:31Speaker 1: then they sayers. The pencil pushes the people that's in
- 5:36Speaker 1: there to design to tell the people why they shouldn't
- 5:39Speaker 1: do the deal. They have nothing to do with me.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I'm in there looking for the God in the room. Man.
- 5:45Speaker 1: It took me a long time to get there, but
- 5:47Speaker 1: it took me less time to learn that all the
- 5:50Speaker 1: als I was taking wasn't really losses. They was lessons.
- 5:54Speaker 1: As soon as you get that in your head, man,
- 5:57Speaker 1: the better off you will be. Every l in your
- 6:00Speaker 1: life ain't a loss, It could be a lesson. Look
- 6:04Speaker 1: for it, because that's the blessing. Y'all have a great
- 6:08Speaker 1: day today. Hey, look, do yourself a favor. Talk to
- 6:13Speaker 1: God today. He would absolutely love to hear from you.
- 6:18Speaker 1: And it don't matter if you ain't talked to him
- 6:20Speaker 1: in a while. Trust me, talk to God. You're gonna
- 6:23Speaker 1: feel better about it. Y'all have a goodies.
