Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: The force will be with you always. Welcome to the
- 0:04Speaker 1: NED party.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hi, this is Nick and Ostasu, story editor on Star Wars,
- 0:10Speaker 2: the Clone Wars and Star Wars bad Batch, and you
- 0:14Speaker 2: are listening to Aggressive Negotiations.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Well, hello, and welcome to a very special episode of
- 0:26Speaker 1: aggressive negotiations coming at you, of course, from the swamps
- 0:31Speaker 1: of Naboo. I'm so excited that we are here to
- 0:35Speaker 1: celebrate the one and only holiday other than life day
- 0:40Speaker 1: for aggressive negotiations, and that is Thanks Gungan. Yes, it
- 0:44Speaker 1: is that time again, my friends, and with me of course,
- 0:48Speaker 1: he had to be here eating some colo clawfish none
- 0:52Speaker 1: other than Jedi Master John Mills.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Yes, and I can't wait to have some helping of
- 1:01Speaker 3: Kadu pie and all of the other traditional dishes we
- 1:05Speaker 3: associate with Thanksgungen. And I got to tell you, Matt,
- 1:09Speaker 3: I'm excited to do this because the annual Star Wars
- 1:12Speaker 3: celebration of thankfulness that we have here called Thanksgungen, is
- 1:16Speaker 3: a tradition. It signifies my favorite time of the year
- 1:20Speaker 3: when we are given the opportunity to slow down and
- 1:24Speaker 3: reflect and encouraged to look at all of the things
- 1:28Speaker 3: we should be thankful for, which is something the Internet
- 1:31Speaker 3: hates to do almost as much as they hate to
- 1:34Speaker 3: leave star ratings and reviews for podcasts.
- 1:37Speaker 1: True, it's true. I think people do hate it because
- 1:39Speaker 1: it's been so long since we've had one. And I
- 1:42Speaker 1: don't want to think that that reflects on us, because
- 1:45Speaker 1: how could it. But we would really appreciate a star
- 1:49Speaker 1: rating in review talk about a way to be thankful.
- 1:52Speaker 1: That would warm our hearts so much. In fact, I
- 1:57Speaker 1: just you don't even understand what that would mean to us.
- 1:59Speaker 1: And you know that actually could possibly be a thing
- 2:04Speaker 1: that we might be thankful for next year if we
- 2:08Speaker 1: start getting more reviews. I mean, you never know. You
- 2:11Speaker 1: you could make Thanks Gungan's episode next year.
- 2:16Speaker 3: That's right, you absolutely could, But that doesn't mean hold
- 2:18Speaker 3: on to it. And we are thankful for everybody that
- 2:21Speaker 3: already has given a star rating and review means the world.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Thank you, We appreciate you, and the idea that anybody's
- 2:29Speaker 3: even left one for us is truly a great thing,
- 2:32Speaker 3: and just encouraging everybody to go ahead and give us
- 2:36Speaker 3: all some love. If you'd like, you can record yourself
- 2:40Speaker 3: singing a short haikup and send it over to the
- 2:44Speaker 3: Jedi Masters over on ex Twitter, we would listen to it,
- 2:47Speaker 3: we would retweet you. I'm sorry, Rex, you X tweet
- 2:51Speaker 3: now rexweet? What are we even calling it now as
- 2:55Speaker 3: a repost?
- 2:57Speaker 1: What We're just going to call it a retweet? We're
- 2:59Speaker 1: just all right?
- 3:00Speaker 3: You know what that works? It gets catchy, it's catchy. Yeah,
- 3:03Speaker 3: I agree, whatever, But yeah, I I am thankful for
- 3:08Speaker 3: everybody that listens, for everybody that's tuning in right now,
- 3:11Speaker 3: and especially for the regular listeners who will reach out
- 3:15Speaker 3: to us from time to time behind the scenes, DMS
- 3:17Speaker 3: whatever I actually have post thanks Gungin. There are a
- 3:22Speaker 3: couple of topics that listeners have reached out about, and
- 3:25Speaker 3: we'll be getting to those before the end of the year.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't wait. So I okay, John, I'm going
- 3:32Speaker 1: to see the floor to you and allow you to
- 3:35Speaker 1: begin our things, Gungin and the things that you you know,
- 3:40Speaker 1: what was it, What's the thing that stood out the
- 3:42Speaker 1: most for you to be most excited about, most thankful
- 3:45Speaker 1: for in Star Wars in twenty twenty five.
- 3:50Speaker 3: It's gonna sound silly because the thing I was most
- 3:52Speaker 3: thankful for was not the newest thing. The celebration of
- 3:59Speaker 3: Revenge of the Sith has been the highlight of twenty
- 4:03Speaker 3: twenty five for me the re release in movie theaters.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I actually got my Sorry Carcass out to the movie
- 4:09Speaker 3: theaters twice in one week. This is quite the accomplishment,
- 4:14Speaker 3: rarely matched anymore. I have been loving all of the
- 4:19Speaker 3: material that has come out. I love the not just
- 4:24Speaker 3: the re release, but the new version of the novel
- 4:27Speaker 3: with the annotations from Matthew Stover, the album which a
- 4:32Speaker 3: very thoughtful friend of mine, possibly on the other microphone,
- 4:35Speaker 3: got for me, which is an exclusive LP pressing of
- 4:40Speaker 3: the best score that Star Wars has had up to
- 4:43Speaker 3: this point. And the gorgeous poster by I always forget
- 4:48Speaker 3: his last name, but Cake's comics out there. Yeah, Matt Ferguson.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Just a stunning, beautiful poster. I went out and I
- 4:55Speaker 3: actually I bought a custom frame for it. I loved
- 4:58Speaker 3: it so much. So basically, twenty twenty five has been
- 5:03Speaker 3: marked for me as a Star Wars fan, as a
- 5:07Speaker 3: reminder to be thankful that I was alive for what
- 5:10Speaker 3: I consider one of the greatest works of film created
- 5:16Speaker 3: up to this point, and what remains to this day
- 5:20Speaker 3: my favorite Star Wars work and probably will for the
- 5:25Speaker 3: rest of my life. However, many years, the Lord sees
- 5:27Speaker 3: fit to leave me here on the planet. But I
- 5:30Speaker 3: promise you I will continue loving Revenge of the Sith
- 5:33Speaker 3: into the afterlife and beyond.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I mean, I'm right there with you. This was definitely
- 5:40Speaker 1: on my list. Both things were on my list, you know,
- 5:43Speaker 1: the novelization coming out, the fact that it's such an
- 5:47Speaker 1: incredibly beautiful version of the book. Like you said, it's
- 5:51Speaker 1: got annotations. We're actually going to be covering it here
- 5:54Speaker 1: probably early next year for the show, just because we're
- 5:58Speaker 1: excited to go back through it.
- 6:00Speaker 3: You know.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I would say it's one of those things where it
- 6:02Speaker 1: just makes the perfect gift for somebody for the holidays
- 6:05Speaker 1: coming up that loves Star Wars and you know great
- 6:08Speaker 1: Star Wars books, because this is the best Star Wars
- 6:10Speaker 1: book ever written. And the fun thing about this for
- 6:16Speaker 1: me was when it came out, I was actually in
- 6:20Speaker 1: Arizona and got to go see this with good friend
- 6:25Speaker 1: of the show, Nancy Evans, together with my wife, which
- 6:29Speaker 1: was a blast. We got to go with him and
- 6:31Speaker 1: his grandson, which just an absolute joy to be able
- 6:34Speaker 1: to do that, to be able to you know, and
- 6:37Speaker 1: this is the thing, and you know, we celebrate this
- 6:39Speaker 1: every year on things gungan together. But you know, Star
- 6:43Speaker 1: Wars has brought both of us some really good friends
- 6:47Speaker 1: that we both share, right and we talk to these
- 6:50Speaker 1: people like every day, you know, and Nancy is one
- 6:54Speaker 1: of those people that I've known for so long and
- 6:59Speaker 1: that is because of Star Wars. And so to be
- 7:04Speaker 1: able to see one of the absolute best things that
- 7:08Speaker 1: Star Wars has ever done with a friend who I
- 7:13Speaker 1: made because of Star Wars was just a really cool thing.
- 7:19Speaker 1: You know. You're reminded that this is a franchise that
- 7:25Speaker 1: at its best brings people together. And that's what I
- 7:31Speaker 1: loved about us being able to celebrate the twentieth anniversary
- 7:35Speaker 1: of Revenge of the Sith and like yourself, you know,
- 7:39Speaker 1: I mean, I remember what it was like, you know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: being in line for ten hours to see that film,
- 7:47Speaker 1: and you know, coming one ticket away from winning a
- 7:51Speaker 1: Darth Vader lightsaber because of the like a force effects lightsaber,
- 7:55Speaker 1: of the drawing, and I remember the vibe of being
- 7:59Speaker 1: in that room still. I can still picture the lightsaber
- 8:02Speaker 1: battles happening before the movie started, and like all the
- 8:06Speaker 1: ooze and awe, I mean, just every single thing about
- 8:11Speaker 1: that movie is indelibly linked in my mind. I'm not
- 8:14Speaker 1: one like you know, you guys talk about on house
- 8:17Speaker 1: lights all the time, Oh you know, what was it
- 8:20Speaker 1: like to be in the theater? And I honestly am
- 8:22Speaker 1: not one of those people who really remembers a ton
- 8:25Speaker 1: of my experiences in the theater for when I first
- 8:28Speaker 1: saw movies. But man, this is absolutely one of those
- 8:34Speaker 1: movies that I one hundred percent remember and so yes,
- 8:40Speaker 1: I'm with you. Man, what a great pick and what
- 8:43Speaker 1: a fantastic way to be able to start off things,
- 8:45Speaker 1: Gungin by celebrating like you said, I mean, there are
- 8:51Speaker 1: very few things in Star Wars that you could possibly
- 8:54Speaker 1: argue are better than Revenge of the Sith the film
- 8:59Speaker 1: and that novelization. And the fact that we got a
- 9:03Speaker 1: celebration of both of those things this year was just
- 9:09Speaker 1: absolute joy for a Star Wars fan.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Indeed, indeed so, But I mean that brings us to you, like,
- 9:15Speaker 3: what's top aside from that, what's top of your list?
- 9:18Speaker 1: Man? You know, I don't think anybody who's listened to
- 9:21Speaker 1: us or the six oh two club where we talk
- 9:24Speaker 1: about Star Wars reviews too, is going to be surprised
- 9:27Speaker 1: at this. But I mean and or season two just
- 9:31Speaker 1: so you like that. Yeah, one of the absolute best
- 9:35Speaker 1: things that Star Wars has done, especially in this new
- 9:38Speaker 1: era of being owned by Disney and the series together.
- 9:43Speaker 1: First season and second season to me are just peak
- 9:47Speaker 1: Star Wars, as the kids would say, pure cinema. Man,
- 9:51Speaker 1: it was on every level. I was blown away and
- 9:57Speaker 1: loved it. And it's one of those things where it's like,
- 9:59Speaker 1: I can't wait to get the Steel Book four a
- 10:02Speaker 1: K edition and be able to watch it uncompressed on
- 10:06Speaker 1: you know, my o Led four K. You know it's
- 10:09Speaker 1: gonna be great. And but not just that, it was.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I just enjoy being able to watch Star Wars that
- 10:19Speaker 1: I can just be immersed in and fall into. And
- 10:23Speaker 1: you know, I and I when something then is really
- 10:28Speaker 1: good in Star Wars because of you know, twenty twenty four,
- 10:33Speaker 1: we had some things that we watched that we didn't
- 10:36Speaker 1: feel like that at all, And so yeah, it was.
- 10:40Speaker 1: It was just a glorious experience for me. And I'm
- 10:43Speaker 1: so thankful for that show. I'm thankful for all the
- 10:46Speaker 1: hard work that they put into it. I mean, I
- 10:49Speaker 1: think both of us agreed that regardless of whether you
- 10:53Speaker 1: liked it, the production value on the show is bar none.
- 10:56Speaker 1: For just about anything Star Wars has done recently, it
- 11:00Speaker 1: looks terrific.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yeah, So you know, I mean that alone is just
- 11:05Speaker 1: something to celebrate, you know.
- 11:08Speaker 3: And that's the thing is, like, your mileage may vary
- 11:11Speaker 3: with any production. Like I'm sure there are people listening
- 11:15Speaker 3: to us gushing about Revenge of the Sith that are like, oh,
- 11:18Speaker 3: I can't stand that movie. I have friends who hated
- 11:20Speaker 3: that movie who think it's terrible. Okay, sure, your milage
- 11:24Speaker 3: may very kidding, you know whatever, it's fine, it's fine,
- 11:29Speaker 3: and it's you know, but I think you're right to
- 11:31Speaker 3: acknowledge that and or at the very least, regardless of
- 11:34Speaker 3: whether you love season two or not, you could see
- 11:37Speaker 3: that there was a lot of care put into the
- 11:39Speaker 3: production value of it, that there was a lot of
- 11:42Speaker 3: thoughtfulness about the choices that they made. Whether you agreed
- 11:46Speaker 3: with it all was inconsequential to the fact that you
- 11:50Speaker 3: could recognize that there were specific decisions made to reflect
- 11:54Speaker 3: a certain aesthetic and that aesthetic was achieved, and that
- 11:57Speaker 3: deserves recognition. Absolutely, he deserves recognition. And I think that
- 12:04Speaker 3: you know, it's right to call it out. And you know,
- 12:06Speaker 3: another thing, that's that's right to call it as regardless
- 12:08Speaker 3: of anything else. You know, the casting in it was great,
- 12:14Speaker 3: and yeah, you know the actors that showed up were
- 12:16Speaker 3: legitimately on set. They wanted to do the best that
- 12:19Speaker 3: they you know, they possibly could, and like nobody just
- 12:23Speaker 3: showed up for a It didn't feel like anybody just
- 12:25Speaker 3: showed up for a paycheck on that one. And they did.
- 12:28Speaker 3: They showed up all day every day. And it's interesting
- 12:32Speaker 3: because you know, we're talking about these on screen products
- 12:36Speaker 3: and you're you're right, like we we didn't get a
- 12:39Speaker 3: whole lot of stuff. But I'm going to take this
- 12:43Speaker 3: back to Revenge of the Sith. First, the intro with
- 12:46Speaker 3: Hayden Christensen. My youngest was watching Clone Wars with me
- 12:50Speaker 3: at the time and she saw it and when he
- 12:54Speaker 3: walked down he started talking. She leans over and she says,
- 12:57Speaker 3: I can tell that's Anakin because it sounds like him,
- 13:00Speaker 3: which made me chuckle inside because I was like, Matt Lantern, boy,
- 13:03Speaker 3: did you do a great job Because my child, so
- 13:06Speaker 3: far as she is concerned, you're the same guy as that.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Then that makes me think of the animation and how
- 13:13Speaker 3: great that is. And in twenty twenty, five, we did
- 13:15Speaker 3: get Tales of the Underworld, which, again it's a mile
- 13:18Speaker 3: may very sort of thing, but I loved it. I
- 13:21Speaker 3: thought it was great. I thought the animation team once
- 13:24Speaker 3: again showed up and tried to do something novel with
- 13:27Speaker 3: characters that don't necessarily get a lot of attention. They
- 13:31Speaker 3: were They're both animated, serious characters that are beloved, and
- 13:37Speaker 3: they told different tales about them and once again examined
- 13:43Speaker 3: important themes with them. So I'm very thankful that animation
- 13:48Speaker 3: continues to get a seat at the table to bring
- 13:52Speaker 3: really great content to us, and in a sparse year
- 13:56Speaker 3: for film content from Star Wars, we at least got
- 14:00Speaker 3: a fresh animated series that we could watch.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean this is this is on my list
- 14:09Speaker 1: as well. And it's interesting because you know, this is
- 14:11Speaker 1: one of those places where, you know, we had a
- 14:15Speaker 1: little bit of aggressive negotiations and our conversations about this
- 14:24Speaker 1: this series because you really loved the Cat Baane part
- 14:29Speaker 1: of the series, and it was not my favorite part
- 14:32Speaker 1: of the series, even though I didn't dislike it, It
- 14:34Speaker 1: just I didn't like it as much as you did.
- 14:37Speaker 1: But all in all, I mean, it was one of
- 14:40Speaker 1: those things where consistently. The animation just is always firing
- 14:48Speaker 1: on all cylinders, you know, it is continuing to give
- 14:53Speaker 1: us some of the best, most quality Star Wars that's
- 14:56Speaker 1: being done these days, regardless of if I did like
- 15:01Speaker 1: it as my favorite, you know, and that that was
- 15:03Speaker 1: not the case here, But man, I loved the Assis
- 15:07Speaker 1: Ventris arc. I still thought the Kat Baine arc was
- 15:10Speaker 1: was good. And I love being able to watch the
- 15:13Speaker 1: animated stuff, like the animated Star Wars still is some
- 15:19Speaker 1: of my most favorite Star Wars of all time. And
- 15:23Speaker 1: that is saying something after all of these years, that
- 15:28Speaker 1: can continue to put out content that makes me think,
- 15:35Speaker 1: that blows my mind, that makes me want to rewatch it,
- 15:39Speaker 1: you know. I mean, I'm still waiting for them to
- 15:42Speaker 1: put out the four K edition of at least the
- 15:47Speaker 1: final four episodes the Clone Wars, so that we can
- 15:50Speaker 1: watch that all together, as you know, one kind of
- 15:57Speaker 1: like continuous film almost. I would love of that, you know,
- 16:00Speaker 1: I mean, just like this is the stuff that deserves
- 16:03Speaker 1: to be seen and to be continuously made. And uh,
- 16:10Speaker 1: it's it's you know, one of those places where when
- 16:12Speaker 1: we think about having this this year and we know
- 16:15Speaker 1: that next year we've got malls shadow Lord coming out,
- 16:19Speaker 1: and you're like, well, heck, yeah, sign me up.
- 16:22Speaker 3: I'm I'm thankful for that. I'm thankful that we know
- 16:25Speaker 3: that mal shadow Lord is coming, you know, and if yeah,
- 16:31Speaker 3: that's going to be there's some high expectation there. But
- 16:34Speaker 3: I know that the the trailer has already gotten some
- 16:38Speaker 3: some positive some positive play. But in terms of positive play,
- 16:43Speaker 3: what else you got on your list?
- 16:45Speaker 1: Well, uh, you know, I want to stick with the
- 16:48Speaker 1: things that that I liked that came out. So do
- 16:52Speaker 1: you remember my reaction to the Rogue one trailer? My
- 16:57Speaker 1: very first reaction.
- 16:58Speaker 3: You you were more luke than I was, Like, I
- 17:01Speaker 3: loved the trailer and you were more like, I don't know, guys, right, Yeah,
- 17:05Speaker 3: So my.
- 17:06Speaker 1: First reaction was what is this and why is Catnus
- 17:12Speaker 1: Everdeen basically in a Star Wars film? Why does this
- 17:16Speaker 1: just feel like the Hunger Games Star Wars style? And
- 17:21Speaker 1: of course I ate my words because I ended up
- 17:24Speaker 1: loving that film, and the same thing happened with Skeleton
- 17:27Speaker 1: Crew for me. The trailer for that came out and
- 17:32Speaker 1: I was like, oh, this just looks like Goonies and
- 17:37Speaker 1: Star Wars had a baby in the worst way. Why
- 17:40Speaker 1: are they doing this? Come on, guys, you know, get original.
- 17:45Speaker 1: And that ended up being a show that was just
- 17:49Speaker 1: so much fun, had so much joy to it that I,
- 17:55Speaker 1: you know, my wife and I we sat down, we
- 17:57Speaker 1: were watching it opening night every night, and we loved it.
- 18:03Speaker 1: It was great, Like it was just such a fun,
- 18:09Speaker 1: fun show and I feel like, you know, it was
- 18:14Speaker 1: it was so well done, and it's one of those
- 18:19Speaker 1: things that and I think the downside of it was
- 18:23Speaker 1: just that people thought, well, what does it really matter,
- 18:28Speaker 1: you know, like it doesn't really add anything, and yet
- 18:31Speaker 1: it I just really enjoyed it, and it was one
- 18:36Speaker 1: of those things where I'll be interested to go back
- 18:39Speaker 1: and rewatch it and be able to hopefully just kind
- 18:42Speaker 1: of pick out all the little elements and things that
- 18:45Speaker 1: I might have missed the first time. You know, I'm
- 18:47Speaker 1: looking forward to that. And so, yeah, Skeleton Crew was
- 18:51Speaker 1: one of those just delightful little things that came out
- 18:54Speaker 1: in Star Wars that just warmed my heart the whole time.
- 18:57Speaker 1: And not only that, but but having Carrie Condon show
- 19:02Speaker 1: up as one of the main characters in the season
- 19:05Speaker 1: and then Kelly McDonald. I loved it. I mean it
- 19:10Speaker 1: just both of those actresses I'm huge fan of and
- 19:14Speaker 1: I would love to see more of them in Star Wars. So, yeah, John,
- 19:20Speaker 1: did you feel the same way about Skeleton Crew?
- 19:23Speaker 3: Did?
- 19:23Speaker 1: Is it one of those things that as we were
- 19:25Speaker 1: getting to the end, you're like, man, that's got to
- 19:28Speaker 1: be on the list.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I see. The thing is Skeleton Crew. I love
- 19:33Speaker 3: that you've chosen it because it bridged twenty twenty four
- 19:36Speaker 3: and twenty twenty five, like it was our goodbye twenty
- 19:40Speaker 3: twenty four into twenty twenty five. It was a great
- 19:42Speaker 3: reset button for Star Wars. I actually think that Skeleton
- 19:46Speaker 3: Crew was unjustly overlooked for a variety of reasons. Let's
- 19:52Speaker 3: not bother getting into them, because then we're not talking
- 19:53Speaker 3: about what we're thankful for, we're talking about other stuff.
- 19:57Speaker 3: But it was a great reset button because I think
- 20:00Speaker 3: it actually really captured the soul of what all of
- 20:03Speaker 3: the kids in the eighties felt about Star Wars.
- 20:08Speaker 1: It really hit.
- 20:10Speaker 3: That note of this is what it felt like to
- 20:12Speaker 3: play Star Wars on the playground. Yeah, there was a
- 20:16Speaker 3: lot of imagination behind it. There was no real need
- 20:21Speaker 3: to obey canon. If anything, it almost feels cannon adjacent
- 20:28Speaker 3: as opposed to quote unquote Cannon, right, there's nothing about
- 20:32Speaker 3: You're right, there's nothing about it where it's like, oh,
- 20:34Speaker 3: this is the missing chapter and what happened to Luke's whatever. No,
- 20:38Speaker 3: this is a story that happens there and it only
- 20:44Speaker 3: works within this universe. And I think that one of
- 20:49Speaker 3: the absolute greatest things for no other reason, for no
- 20:53Speaker 3: other reason than Nick Frost as SM thirty three. That
- 20:58Speaker 3: is that, to me is peak Star Wars. Is when
- 21:02Speaker 3: you have a droid like that on there. That's the
- 21:06Speaker 3: moment where I'm like, oh, like that is the childlike
- 21:10Speaker 3: wonder and love that I fell in love with Star
- 21:14Speaker 3: Wars with and I think Skeleton Crew matched that perfectly.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I agree, And again it is one of
- 21:23Speaker 1: those things where I can absolutely kind of see where,
- 21:31Speaker 1: you know, somebody, it might not be their favorite thing
- 21:34Speaker 1: or any of that, and yet for me, it just
- 21:37Speaker 1: is one of those wonderful little surprises that happened. And
- 21:43Speaker 1: like you said, it bridged last year and this year,
- 21:47Speaker 1: and so for it to be something that you know,
- 21:51Speaker 1: stuck with me because we basically started to year with
- 21:56Speaker 1: this and I'm still thinking about it now. He uh.
- 22:01Speaker 1: As we're recording right before Thanksgiving Yeah, it's it's fantastic.
- 22:06Speaker 1: So I love that. What what else stok out for
- 22:12Speaker 1: you this this year? John, Because like we said, you know,
- 22:15Speaker 1: not tons of things came out in the Star Wars
- 22:21Speaker 1: universe on screen? Uh yeah, So was there anything else
- 22:26Speaker 1: that from Star Wars here that you were like, Oh
- 22:28Speaker 1: my gosh, this this really hit it for me.
- 22:31Speaker 3: You know, It's tough because I have not been as
- 22:34Speaker 3: good a boy about following all of the published stuff
- 22:39Speaker 3: as I should have been. It's it's been a it's
- 22:42Speaker 3: been an onerous year in some regards, and some of
- 22:46Speaker 3: my reading has suffered as a result. I haven't stayed
- 22:50Speaker 3: up to date on everything. But I can say that
- 22:53Speaker 3: what I discovered was the audio books that they have released,
- 23:00Speaker 3: some of them new editions of the old EU stuff.
- 23:05Speaker 3: I don't know if it really counts as twenty twenty five,
- 23:07Speaker 3: but it's when I really got into it and discovered it.
- 23:10Speaker 3: And I was really grateful to be able to go
- 23:12Speaker 3: back and listen to a fantastic audio edition of John
- 23:15Speaker 3: Jackson Miller's Kenobi, which completely rehabilitated my original review of it.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Like I was kind of a stick in the mud
- 23:26Speaker 3: about it back in the past, and then I come
- 23:29Speaker 3: back to it and I listened to it, and I
- 23:32Speaker 3: was like, oh, this is actually quite good. I actually
- 23:36Speaker 3: really like this. So I would say I'm thankful for
- 23:39Speaker 3: the fact that there's an audiobook effort to get some
- 23:44Speaker 3: of that older material out so that old and new
- 23:51Speaker 3: and current fans can enjoy sort of the wide library
- 23:58Speaker 3: of Star Wars stuff that's out, and so going to
- 24:02Speaker 3: the effort of making new audiobook editions knowing that we're
- 24:06Speaker 3: now in sort of a post reading world. I know
- 24:10Speaker 3: how that sounds. I'm not meaning it as a pejorative,
- 24:13Speaker 3: but like, you know, we're in a podcast world. Now,
- 24:16Speaker 3: we're listening to things on the way to work world.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Now we're gonna listen to it on our long walk world.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Now we're not in a holding a tome and you know,
- 24:24Speaker 3: smoking a pipe while we sit in our favorite chair
- 24:28Speaker 3: in the den sort of mode. We're in the on
- 24:30Speaker 3: the go. I'm gonna be going somewhere doing something while
- 24:34Speaker 3: I'm consuming the content. I think Star Wars audiobooks in
- 24:37Speaker 3: twenty twenty five I learned to discover and enjoy them,
- 24:42Speaker 3: probably in a way that I never have.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's that's really cool. I remember you
- 24:48Speaker 1: and Nancy actually talking about the fact that the Shadows
- 24:54Speaker 1: of the Empire book the audiobook can come out, and
- 24:57Speaker 1: you both were raving about it. And I still have
- 25:00Speaker 1: just not gotte a chance to listen to it yet,
- 25:02Speaker 1: but I can't act. I can't wait to. I've got it,
- 25:04Speaker 1: and I just I need to do it, and so
- 25:07Speaker 1: I'm really looking forward to that opportunity to go back
- 25:11Speaker 1: and listen to that. And for me, you know, one
- 25:14Speaker 1: of the things that came out in the book sphere
- 25:19Speaker 1: was Rain of the Empire The Mask of Fear, which
- 25:22Speaker 1: is a three part series that's going to happen. This
- 25:26Speaker 1: was the first book. It was by Alexander fried and
- 25:30Speaker 1: it takes place very quickly after Revenge of the Sith
- 25:34Speaker 1: and it's, as you know, these characters like Bail work
- 25:38Speaker 1: On and man Mothma are trying to figure out this
- 25:42Speaker 1: equilibrium and what to do about it and where to
- 25:45Speaker 1: go with this. And I really enjoyed the book. I
- 25:49Speaker 1: thought it was really well done. It made me excited
- 25:52Speaker 1: to kind of dive more into that era, especially maybe
- 25:57Speaker 1: earlier before you know, the and or time when there
- 26:01Speaker 1: really is so much that's happening with these characters and
- 26:04Speaker 1: that they would need to be a part of and
- 26:08Speaker 1: trying to figure out and stuff. And so that was
- 26:11Speaker 1: one that I thought was really well done and I
- 26:15Speaker 1: was really excited to finally get a chance to read it.
- 26:19Speaker 1: And it left me which was great. It left me
- 26:23Speaker 1: wanting the rest of that series. Now, you know, to
- 26:27Speaker 1: read the other two books that are going to happen
- 26:29Speaker 1: in it.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Cool. Yeah, I look forward to getting to it at
- 26:34Speaker 3: some point in the future. I have a little bit
- 26:38Speaker 3: of a book moratorium. I'm not allowing myself to purchase
- 26:44Speaker 3: any more tons until I work a little bit more
- 26:46Speaker 3: through my to read lists. So I still haven't gone
- 26:51Speaker 3: and gone with the Reign of Empire, the first Reign
- 26:55Speaker 3: of Empire book that came out before Mask of Evil.
- 26:58Speaker 3: I still have it sitting on my shelf. I've got
- 27:00Speaker 3: to get to it. I swear I'm gonna get to it.
- 27:03Speaker 3: But again, that gets back to that. But that gets
- 27:05Speaker 3: back to the audiobooks thing. I can listen to a
- 27:07Speaker 3: book while I'm driving, and I can read a book
- 27:09Speaker 3: at home, like I'm twice as efficient with book reading,
- 27:12Speaker 3: and you know, hey, there you go. That counts for something, right,
- 27:15Speaker 3: And at the very least it's it's less time spent
- 27:18Speaker 3: on TikTok. But I don't know, is there a Star
- 27:21Speaker 3: Wars TikTok? Can we get people on board with that?
- 27:23Speaker 1: I don't even want to know?
- 27:24Speaker 3: Man Wars talk tickstar How would that has talk? That?
- 27:30Speaker 3: It has to end with talk? Right? So wars talk
- 27:33Speaker 3: like in Star Wars would be like Vader talk. That
- 27:35Speaker 3: would be like a Vader fan club or something like that.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Vader talk. Yeah, that would be okay, hold on only fans.
- 27:44Speaker 3: But it's Emperor Palpatine striking you with lightning every time
- 27:49Speaker 3: you're on your phone. There you go, Bang, there's your idea,
- 27:52Speaker 3: billion dollar idea. The man you know? Why not?
- 27:57Speaker 1: I was just going to say, like, you know, his
- 27:59Speaker 1: his is burned toes or something like that would be
- 28:04Speaker 1: a thing. Anyway, anyway, let's yes, back it up back.
- 28:08Speaker 3: In steering, steering the ship, steering the ship out of
- 28:11Speaker 3: that hyperspace lane. You know. It is tough, though, because
- 28:18Speaker 3: twenty twenty five has sort of been a reset year
- 28:21Speaker 3: I think for Star Wars in terms of its larger content,
- 28:27Speaker 3: goals and strategies. It really am so in a sense though,
- 28:34Speaker 3: I'm thankful for that because I think that part of
- 28:36Speaker 3: the reason, and you know, I think you and I
- 28:38Speaker 3: agree on this. Part of the trouble that modern audiences
- 28:42Speaker 3: have had finding an in for Star Wars is simply
- 28:47Speaker 3: the fact that they were hitting people with so much content.
- 28:51Speaker 3: They were just absolutely it was this deluge of content.
- 28:55Speaker 3: When everything first transitioned over to Disney, people didn't know
- 28:59Speaker 3: what was going going on. It was just everybody got
- 29:02Speaker 3: overloaded in just a couple of years, and that sort
- 29:05Speaker 3: of led to this fracturing. There was too much sort
- 29:07Speaker 3: of mental weight put on everybody, and I think that
- 29:11Speaker 3: continued for a time, and I think that twenty five
- 29:15Speaker 3: there felt like there was a lot more intent behind
- 29:19Speaker 3: what was being chosen to be done with Star Wars.
- 29:22Speaker 3: There's all of the stuff around Episode three, there's Skeleton Crew,
- 29:25Speaker 3: there's definitely intent around and or there's intent around the books.
- 29:30Speaker 3: It feels like now the books feel much more in
- 29:34Speaker 3: tune with things. There's less to buy, there are fewer toys,
- 29:39Speaker 3: but there seems to be more intent behind the toys
- 29:42Speaker 3: they're releasing. So I'd say I'm thankful for the fact
- 29:45Speaker 3: that it seems like Star Wars the content ship seems
- 29:50Speaker 3: to be steering in a more controlled direction of late
- 29:55Speaker 3: and I think twenty twenty five we'll probably look back
- 29:58Speaker 3: on as the pivot year when that new course was decided.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with you in that I think that
- 30:07Speaker 1: there was definitely something that they knew that they had
- 30:12Speaker 1: to do right, and that was that they needed to
- 30:17Speaker 1: find a way to figure out what content was going
- 30:21Speaker 1: to come out, what was going to be important, and
- 30:23Speaker 1: were they going to step on the toes of, you know,
- 30:28Speaker 1: of what they were putting out, which I think is
- 30:31Speaker 1: something that we saw quite frequently in the early years
- 30:40Speaker 1: of Disney and Star Wars, and so I'm glad that
- 30:46Speaker 1: they've kind of stopped doing that and just allowing things
- 30:50Speaker 1: to be able to stand on their own and for
- 30:52Speaker 1: us as fans, you know, just be able to enjoy
- 30:55Speaker 1: stuff and not feel like there's so much coming out
- 31:00Speaker 1: that I don't know how to keep up with it, right.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I think that was something that you know, with all
- 31:07Speaker 1: the comics and all the books, and you remember when
- 31:11Speaker 1: we were trying to cover all of that stuff for
- 31:13Speaker 1: the six oh two Club, right, uh, when is we're
- 31:17Speaker 1: getting ready for the Force Awakens coming out? And the
- 31:20Speaker 1: days of material was just insane, right, We and and
- 31:25Speaker 1: we covered it, man, but it was tough. We were
- 31:29Speaker 1: putting out an episode I felt like every week because
- 31:32Speaker 1: there was just so much there. And I think, you know,
- 31:39Speaker 1: Star Wars is one of those things where it is
- 31:42Speaker 1: better when you get the feeling of desire creeping back
- 31:49Speaker 1: in in your mind, like oh, I can't I Oh,
- 31:53Speaker 1: it's been a while since I got that Star Wars itch.
- 31:55Speaker 1: You know, it's like, can I get a little bit more?
- 31:58Speaker 1: And you need that itch to get get stronger for
- 32:01Speaker 1: people to really be excited about the things that are
- 32:03Speaker 1: coming out. And I think that maybe that's something that
- 32:07Speaker 1: they have been able to do with this kind of
- 32:10Speaker 1: reset that you mentioned, and so I'm glad that's the case.
- 32:14Speaker 1: I think it's smart on their part. I will say too.
- 32:17Speaker 1: You know, we had another fun book that came out
- 32:20Speaker 1: this year which I was really thankful for, and that
- 32:22Speaker 1: was the book Sanctuary for the bad Batch, which was
- 32:26Speaker 1: fun because we actually got a Bad Batch novel, which
- 32:30Speaker 1: was great to be able to get those characters in
- 32:34Speaker 1: a novel form. It's been you know, now that the
- 32:37Speaker 1: show's over, there's little places they could fill in, and
- 32:41Speaker 1: it was just really fun to be back with those characters.
- 32:44Speaker 1: And it's one of those things where I'm like, man,
- 32:47Speaker 1: I love for them to continue this process of you know,
- 32:54Speaker 1: giving us more of these characters in those places where
- 32:58Speaker 1: I think you could maybe you know, rightly add something
- 33:03Speaker 1: to the series in a really well done way if
- 33:06Speaker 1: you get good writers. And so, yeah, that was that
- 33:08Speaker 1: was great to have.
- 33:09Speaker 3: I you know, that spurs on. I think that it
- 33:12Speaker 3: would be great going into the next year to find
- 33:15Speaker 3: out about more animated projects. You know, bad Batch gets
- 33:19Speaker 3: its own book, we have mal shadow Hunter coming up,
- 33:24Speaker 3: We've had the Tales of series. I think that it
- 33:27Speaker 3: would be wonderful if going forward we had more and
- 33:33Speaker 3: more Thanks Gungans, where we got more and more animated
- 33:36Speaker 3: series projects. I know that that would you know, that's
- 33:40Speaker 3: not as easy as it sounds, but I would love
- 33:44Speaker 3: to hear more of them announced because I think that
- 33:47Speaker 3: the thing that has kept the love alive in the
- 33:50Speaker 3: hearts of diehard fans has been animation, and so bad
- 33:54Speaker 3: Batch getting a book means that they're acknowledging that they're
- 33:58Speaker 3: leaning into and saying, oh, oh okay, the fans do
- 34:01Speaker 3: love this content. We'll start taking it into other media
- 34:06Speaker 3: so that they can get more of it. And that
- 34:10Speaker 3: is a longer term play and a more I think
- 34:12Speaker 3: it's a wiser content strategy. And it's also an acknowledgement
- 34:16Speaker 3: that some of the best ideas are coming out of animation.
- 34:19Speaker 3: So you're right that, you know, the Bad Batch book
- 34:21Speaker 3: even getting released is a great, great thing because you know,
- 34:27Speaker 3: it's an acknowledgement of the fact that, like you know,
- 34:29Speaker 3: the same thing happened with Clone Wars. Everybody loved Clone Wars.
- 34:32Speaker 3: So guess what we got stuff in other media about
- 34:34Speaker 3: the Clone Wars Ye, using the characters and situations from that.
- 34:38Speaker 3: So hey man, that that'll be that That is a
- 34:43Speaker 3: great thing. It's an awesome thing to call out.
- 34:46Speaker 1: One more thing that I thought of, John, And I
- 34:49Speaker 1: was just thinking about this today as I knew we
- 34:51Speaker 1: were going to be recording. Do you want to know
- 34:54Speaker 1: something super exciting?
- 34:57Speaker 3: Yes, I do.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Actual Star Wars move movies were filmed this last year,
- 35:02Speaker 1: like they literally were in production. It wasn't we're gonna
- 35:06Speaker 1: maybe do it, We're gonna possibly do it. There might
- 35:09Speaker 1: be a director attached. No, John, actual Star Wars films
- 35:15Speaker 1: are either in production are finishing their post production as
- 35:19Speaker 1: we speak.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Yes, that is a fantastic thing to be thankful for.
- 35:25Speaker 3: I'm thankful that they finally dropped the trailer for the
- 35:28Speaker 3: Mandalorian and Grogu. Now let's not sleep on this, y'all,
- 35:32Speaker 3: and let's actually start getting the hype going again, please,
- 35:36Speaker 3: because I've actually got the youngest watching The Mandalorian with me.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Now we're revisiting season one, which is just an absolute treat,
- 35:45Speaker 3: and that's teeing it up so that we know that
- 35:47Speaker 3: the Mandalorian and Grogu is coming out, and the first
- 35:50Speaker 3: shots from the Starfighter movie are warmly embraced, and you know,
- 35:57Speaker 3: it's one of those things where it's always dangerous. It's
- 36:00Speaker 3: always dangerous to react to oh, first on set picks,
- 36:03Speaker 3: Oh shot of them on set. It's really dangerous because
- 36:07Speaker 3: you look at it and you're like, oh, that looks
- 36:09Speaker 3: pretty cool. And it stinks because we've been conditioned, not
- 36:16Speaker 3: just as Star Wars fans, but as media consumers to
- 36:19Speaker 3: understand that we're being manipulated whenever something like that gets
- 36:24Speaker 3: out there. So it's hard to be as excited as
- 36:28Speaker 3: I want to be about a new Star Wars movie
- 36:30Speaker 3: coming out. But you're right, I'm starting to feel that itch.
- 36:34Speaker 3: I want more behind the scenes shots of the Mandalorian
- 36:37Speaker 3: Croku coming out. I want more. I want more of
- 36:41Speaker 3: that stuff. And I really hope that this leads to
- 36:44Speaker 3: a more consistent production schedule. Not overload us. Don't overload us.
- 36:49Speaker 3: We don't need everything. And another thing I'm thankful for,
- 36:54Speaker 3: this is the last one I'll throw out there on
- 36:55Speaker 3: the fire for you, is that we know that there's
- 37:00Speaker 3: going to be an anniversary re release of the original
- 37:02Speaker 3: Star Wars, and we know that there's gonna be a
- 37:06Speaker 3: celebration in these United States of America where we are
- 37:09Speaker 3: recording this, and we know that you and I are
- 37:13Speaker 3: going to be traveling to California to go to this thing.
- 37:16Speaker 3: Even if I don't attend celebration, I'm gonna be there.
- 37:21Speaker 3: And I'm gonna go to the Lucas Museum. I'm gonna
- 37:23Speaker 3: I'm gonna be there at least for the vibe. You know,
- 37:26Speaker 3: even if they sell out celebration, I don't care. I'm
- 37:29Speaker 3: still gonna go that weekend. Oh you're gonna find You're.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Gonna go to celebration. This is this is you know,
- 37:35Speaker 1: this is not But.
- 37:36Speaker 3: The thing is, you're no. But the thing is, it
- 37:37Speaker 3: doesn't even matter to me. If I do or not,
- 37:40Speaker 3: like it's that that's actually secondary, Like celebration itself is
- 37:43Speaker 3: secondary to me. I want to be there, I want
- 37:46Speaker 3: to I want to have it be I hope that
- 37:51Speaker 3: it winds up the way. The nineteen ninety nine celebration
- 37:55Speaker 3: was that very first one, that Woodstock Festival atmosphere of
- 38:00Speaker 3: we're all coming together with just pure love and joy
- 38:05Speaker 3: in our hearts, and we're just there to have a
- 38:07Speaker 3: great time and celebrate and be thankful the way you
- 38:11Speaker 3: and I have been thankful here on our How many
- 38:14Speaker 3: thanks gungans? Is this now? It's a few thanks gungans?
- 38:18Speaker 1: I mean, how many haven't we been doing this the
- 38:21Speaker 1: entire Yeah, we've done this every the season, I mean
- 38:27Speaker 1: of the entire time, every time.
- 38:30Speaker 3: What is this our eleventh?
- 38:31Speaker 1: I think so, which is crazy to think this. I
- 38:35Speaker 1: just remember behind the scenes story for everybody. I just
- 38:39Speaker 1: remember of this being an idea that I was like, John,
- 38:47Speaker 1: and this is one of my surprises to you, which
- 38:49Speaker 1: was fun because you know, you you you You're You're
- 38:53Speaker 1: so good about coming up with the surprise topic, you know,
- 38:57Speaker 1: and I I'm I'm just not as good at it.
- 39:01Speaker 1: But I was like, what if we did a thing
- 39:03Speaker 1: for every year, we did a Thanksgiving episode, but we
- 39:07Speaker 1: called it thanks Gungen, which honestly might be one of
- 39:11Speaker 1: my best ideas ever, which it.
- 39:13Speaker 3: Goes, It goes to show, it goes to show that
- 39:17Speaker 3: your ideas are good, and I'm grateful for them. Yeah,
- 39:23Speaker 3: good luck. I'm the one that controls the audio files anyway. No,
- 39:27Speaker 3: the thing that I love is that thanks Gungen is
- 39:32Speaker 3: a phrase that I wish would be picked up by
- 39:37Speaker 3: the official Star Wars channel. I don't even care about
- 39:39Speaker 3: getting a little copyright or anything like that. I mean,
- 39:42Speaker 3: you know, I'll soothe them in court. But like, it's
- 39:44Speaker 3: one of those things where I would love it if
- 39:47Speaker 3: it became a thing because I think it's a wonderful
- 39:49Speaker 3: idea and I think it's I think it's hashtag material.
- 39:52Speaker 3: I think it's one of those things where it's like
- 39:54Speaker 3: I can't believe that we're the only ones with an
- 39:58Speaker 3: episode every year called thanksgung I'm like, that's so cool,
- 40:02Speaker 3: and I think that speaks to what makes the show,
- 40:05Speaker 3: this show so much of a joy, this many years later,
- 40:08Speaker 3: and the reason we keep doing it is like, you know, yeah,
- 40:11Speaker 3: we get older, life gets a little busier. Sometimes there's
- 40:14Speaker 3: a week or two where we got to take off
- 40:15Speaker 3: now and stuff like that, but we're still having fun,
- 40:20Speaker 3: and I'm thankful that we're still able to have this
- 40:22Speaker 3: much fun with it this much later. We just want
- 40:25Speaker 3: more content from Disney slash lucasfilm because you know, we
- 40:31Speaker 3: got a couple of unique ones coming up at you.
- 40:33Speaker 3: But you know, I need to know, I need to
- 40:35Speaker 3: you know, I need to have more stuff to ponder,
- 40:37Speaker 3: you know, like a Navarro there are city center services
- 40:41Speaker 3: and you know who who ran the plumbing in a
- 40:43Speaker 3: galaxy far far away? Those sorts of things.
- 40:45Speaker 1: You know, I want to say this too because and
- 40:50Speaker 1: I'm sure that we've mentioned this on a previous Things
- 40:53Speaker 1: gun Get episode, but you know what of Star Wars
- 40:57Speaker 1: has become known as a fan that is just full
- 41:02Speaker 1: of cattiness and complaining. And one of the things that
- 41:06Speaker 1: and it's scientifically proven that being thankful for things changes
- 41:12Speaker 1: your state of mind and your well being, just mental
- 41:16Speaker 1: health wise. And so to be able to spend just
- 41:22Speaker 1: an entire episode for us of things that we're thankful
- 41:26Speaker 1: for in Star Wars, and look, obviously there are things
- 41:29Speaker 1: that we get frustrated about sometimes with Star Wars, and
- 41:33Speaker 1: like you said, it's like, oh man, I would love
- 41:34Speaker 1: to be able to have there be a little bit
- 41:37Speaker 1: more cohesion behind the scenes. So we're getting some content
- 41:41Speaker 1: each year that allowed us to be able to have
- 41:43Speaker 1: more fun things to talk about, because you know, that's
- 41:45Speaker 1: why we've been doing this for so long. We just
- 41:47Speaker 1: love talking about Star Wars and having a great time together.
- 41:50Speaker 1: And you know, you don't get that if you don't
- 41:56Speaker 1: get good content. And so I mean, that's the thing.
- 42:00Speaker 1: I mean, that's what we're asking for. We're not asking
- 42:02Speaker 1: for the world. We just want some fun content to
- 42:04Speaker 1: talk about. And and yet by practicing thanks Gungen every year,
- 42:11Speaker 1: we force ourselves to be reminded that there still is
- 42:15Speaker 1: much to be thankful for in this fandom, uh and
- 42:19Speaker 1: in this franchise. And I love that that is our focus,
- 42:26Speaker 1: you know, at this time of year. But I also
- 42:29Speaker 1: love that you know something that I think you know
- 42:32Speaker 1: not to to our own horn, but you know, we
- 42:34Speaker 1: don't spend a lot of time ranting and raving about
- 42:37Speaker 1: the things we don't like about in this franchise, this,
- 42:41Speaker 1: not this podcast. Every we will do that, honestly, if
- 42:44Speaker 1: we're reviewing something new or whatever. But on a whole,
- 42:49Speaker 1: we're not going to spend episodes upon episodes talking about
- 42:52Speaker 1: how we hated what they did with Ben Solo, or
- 42:55Speaker 1: that the sequels sucked, or then why was that in
- 42:57Speaker 1: the Alcolyte, or you know, any of the thing is
- 43:00Speaker 1: the myriad of things that fans complained about these days,
- 43:02Speaker 1: that's just not us because you get enough of that.
- 43:05Speaker 1: So hopefully everybody else out there is enjoying the Thanksgungin
- 43:11Speaker 1: treats with their family and friends. But John, if people
- 43:16Speaker 1: wanted to catch up with the Jedi Master, who I
- 43:20Speaker 1: am thankful to do this show with every single week,
- 43:23Speaker 1: where could people find.
- 43:24Speaker 3: You, Well, you can find me online as Kessel Junkie,
- 43:29Speaker 3: and you can find me here on the network hosting
- 43:31Speaker 3: another show that you referenced earlier called house Lights, where
- 43:34Speaker 3: we look at the work of different directors. Go on
- 43:37Speaker 3: over and give it a listen. Matt, it's been a
- 43:39Speaker 3: long standing friendship between the two of us. I think
- 43:42Speaker 3: that Thanks Gungen is one of those treats. It's one
- 43:44Speaker 3: of those special conversations where you and I would be
- 43:48Speaker 3: having this, I think every Thanksgiving even if we didn't
- 43:51Speaker 3: have a show. It's true like that's just the nature
- 43:54Speaker 3: of it sort of thing. And of course thankful for
- 43:58Speaker 3: you as my dear friend, as one of my best
- 44:02Speaker 3: friends ever who is always just a beacon of positivity
- 44:08Speaker 3: and support and care. Can't put a value on that.
- 44:13Speaker 3: It means the galaxy to an old cynical pirate like myself.
- 44:19Speaker 3: And I can say as well that the origin of
- 44:23Speaker 3: this I'm going to say, I'm going to give a
- 44:25Speaker 3: special note of thanks as I kick it over to
- 44:27Speaker 3: you for where people can find you. The origin of
- 44:30Speaker 3: this show will always have been the two of us
- 44:35Speaker 3: having our first Star Wars conversation on one of the
- 44:37Speaker 3: places where they can find you, the six h two Club,
- 44:40Speaker 3: which is the godfather of aggressive negotiations.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Man, gosh, the fact that all those years ago
- 44:51Speaker 1: we did an episode together about Star Wars and it
- 44:56Speaker 1: really just kicked off our friendship. It kicked off this
- 45:00Speaker 1: whole thing. It kicked off, you know, friendships like we
- 45:03Speaker 1: mentioned with somebody like Yancy or Nick or these people
- 45:07Speaker 1: that have come into our lives and become very dear
- 45:09Speaker 1: to us, you know, as as Yoda would say, it
- 45:12Speaker 1: just brings warm feelings to my heart. Uh, And that
- 45:16Speaker 1: is one hundred percent sincere. I hope people will check
- 45:20Speaker 1: out the six ozho two Club. You can also find
- 45:22Speaker 1: me all over social media under the name Matt Rushing
- 45:24Speaker 1: zero two. Of course, here on the network, I've got
- 45:26Speaker 1: a completed show called Owlpost talking about all the chapters
- 45:30Speaker 1: of the Harry Potter series, one chapter at a time.
- 45:32Speaker 1: And then over on the TFM network. Outside the six
- 45:35Speaker 1: oh two Club, there's a lot of great star trek
- 45:37Speaker 1: talk that I do with my good friend Chris Jones,
- 45:40Speaker 1: and so we hope you will check that out. But
- 45:44Speaker 1: from us here at Aggressive Negotiations, John, I think it's
- 45:48Speaker 1: time to close these negressive negotiations because the bells are
- 45:53Speaker 1: rigging for thanks Gungan there in feed and I think
- 45:58Speaker 1: it's time that we run over there and you know,
- 46:01Speaker 1: we get that nice Gungan leg.
- 46:04Speaker 3: I am going to be first in line for Boss
- 46:07Speaker 3: NASA's special swamp salad. I don't know what's in it,
- 46:11Speaker 3: but I insist that it's delicious. So Master Rushing, I agree,
- 46:15Speaker 3: negotiations are closed.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Join the Revolution, Join the Nerd Party.
