- 0:00Thirty five, chapter twenty one. And verily I say unto you, I
- 0:05give unto you a sign that ye may know the time when these things shall
- 0:09be about to take place, that I shall gather in from their long dispersion
- 0:13my people the House of Israel, and shall establish again among them my Zion.
- 0:19And behold, this is the thing which I will give unto you for
- 0:22a sign. For verily I say unto you that when these things which I
- 0:27declare unto you, and which I shall declare unto you hereafter of myself and
- 0:32by the power of the Holy Ghost, which shall be given unto you of
- 0:34the Father, shall be made known unto the gentiles, that they may know
- 0:38concerning this people, who are a remnant of the House of Jacob, and
- 0:42concerning this my people, who shall be scattered by them. Verily, verily
- 0:47I say unto you, when these things shall be made known unto them of
- 0:50the Father, and shall come forth of the Father from them unto you,
- 0:54for it is wisdom in the Father that they should be established in this land
- 0:58and be set up as a free people, the power of the Father,
- 1:00that these things might come forth from them unto a remnant of your seed,
- 1:04that the covenant of the Father may be fulfilled, which he hath covenanted with
- 1:10his people, O House of Israel. Therefore, when these works and the
- 1:14works which shall be wrought among you hereafter, shall come forth from the gentiles
- 1:18unto your seed, which shall dwindle an unbelief because of iniquity. For thus
- 1:22it behooveth the Father that it should come forth from the Gentiles, that he
- 1:26may show forth his power unto the gentiles. For this cause, that the
- 1:30gentiles, if they will not harden their hearts, that they may repent and
- 1:34come unto me and be baptized in my name, and know of the true
- 1:37points of my doctrine, that they may be numbered among my people, O
- 1:40House of Israel. And when these things come to pass, that thy seed
- 1:44shall begin to know these things, it shall be a sign unto them that
- 1:48they may know that the work of the Father hath already commenced unto the fulfilling
- 1:53of the covenant which he hath made unto the people who are of the House
- 1:57of Israel. And when that day shall come, it shall come to pass
- 2:00that kings shall shut their mouths, for that which had not been told them,
- 2:06shall they see and that which they had not heard, shall they consider.
- 2:09For in that day for my sake shall the Father work a work which
- 2:13shall be a great and a marvelous work among them. And there shall be
- 2:16among them those who will not believe it, although a man shall declare it
- 2:21unto them. But behold, the life of my servant shall be in my
- 2:23hand. Therefore they shall not hurt him, although he shall be marred because
- 2:28of them, Yet I will heal him, for I will show unto them
- 2:32that my wisdom is greater than the cunning of the devil. Therefore it shall
- 2:38come to pass that whosoever will not believe in my words, who am Jesus
- 2:43Christ, which the Father shall cause him to bring forth unto the Gentiles,
- 2:46and shall give unto him power that he shall bring them forth unto the Gentiles.
- 2:53It shall be done even as Moses said, they shall be cut off
- 2:55from among my people who are of the covenant, and my people who are
- 3:00a remnant of Jacob shall be among the gentiles, yea in the midst of
- 3:04them, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young
- 3:07lion among the flocks of the sheep, who if he go through both treadeth
- 3:10down and tereth in pieces, and none can deliver. Their hands shall be
- 3:15lifted up upon their adversaries, and all their enemies shall be cut off.
- 3:19Yea woe be unto the gentiles, except they repent, for it shall come
- 3:23to pass in that day, saith the Father, that I will cut off
- 3:28thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots.
- 3:31And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down
- 3:35all thy strongholds. And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thy land,
- 3:39and thou shalt have no more soothsayers thy graven images. I will also cut
- 3:45off and thy standing images out of the midst of thee, and thou shalt
- 3:49no more worship the works of thy hands. And I will pluck up thy
- 3:53groves out of the midst of thee. So will I destroy thy cities.
- 4:00They shall come to pass that all lyings and deceivings, and envyings, and
- 4:02strifes, and priests, grass and hortoms shall be done away. For it
- 4:06shall come to pass, saith the Father that at that day, whosoever will
- 4:11not repent and come unto my beloved son them, will I cut off from
- 4:15among my people, O House of Israel, and I will execute vengeance and
- 4:19fury upon them, even as upon the heathen, such as they have not
- 4:24heard. But if they will repent and hearken unto my words and harden not
- 4:29their hearts, I will establish my church among them. And they shall come
- 4:33in unto the Covenant, and be numbered among this the remnant of Jacob,
- 4:38unto whom I have given this land for their inheritance. And they shall assist
- 4:44my people, the remnant of Jacob, and also as many of the House
- 4:47of Israel, that they may build a city which shall be called the New
- 4:51Jerusalem. And then shall they assist my people, that they may be gathered
- 4:56in, who are scattered upon all the face of the land, in unto
- 4:59the Jerusalem. And then shall the power of Heaven come down among them,
- 5:03and I will also be in the midst. And then shall the work of
- 5:06the Father commence it that day, even when this gospel shall be preached among
- 5:12the remnant of this people. Verily, I say unto you, at that
- 5:15day shall the work of the Father commence among all the dispersed of my people.
- 5:20Yea, even the tribes which have been lost, which the Father hath
- 5:26led away out of Jerusalem. Yea, the work shall commence among all the
- 5:30dispersed of my people with the Father, to prepare the way whereby they may
- 5:33come unto me, that they may call on the Father in my name.
- 5:38Yea. And then shall the work commence with the Father among all nations,
- 5:42in preparing the way whereby his people may be gathered home to the land of
- 5:46their inheritance. And they shall go out from all nations. And they shall
- 5:50not go out in haste, nor go by flight. For I will go
- 5:55before them, Saith the Father, and I will be their rear ward.
- 6:00Third Nephi, chapter twenty two. And then shall that which is written come
- 6:05to pass, seeing O baron thou that didst not bear, break forth into
- 6:11singing, and cry aloud thou that didst not travail with child. For more
- 6:16are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife. Saith
- 6:20the Lord, enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth
- 6:25the curtains of thy habitations. Spare not lengthen thy cords and strengthen thy stakes.
- 6:31For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left,
- 6:35and thy seed shall inherit the gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be
- 6:40inhabited. Fear not, for thou shalt not be ashamed, neither be thou
- 6:46confounded. For thou shalt not be put to shame. For thou shalt forget
- 6:49the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy youth,
- 6:55and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. For thy
- 6:59Maker, thy husband, the Lord of Hosts, is his name, and
- 7:03thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of the whole earth.
- 7:09Shall he be called. For the Lord hath called Thee as a woman
- 7:14forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast
- 7:18refused, Saith Thy God. For a small moment have I forsaken thee.
- 7:24But with great mercies will I gather THEE. In a little wrath, I
- 7:29hid my face from THEE for a moment. But with everlasting kindness will I
- 7:34have mercy on thee. Saith the Lord, thy Redeemer. For this the
- 7:40waters of Noah unto me. For as I have sworn that the waters of
- 7:43Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I
- 7:47would not be wroth with THEE. For the mountains shall depart and the heels
- 7:53be removed. But my kindness shall not depart from THEE. Neither shall the
- 8:00covenant of my peace be removed. Saith the Lord that hath mercy on THEE.
- 8:05O, thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted. Behold,
- 8:11I will lay thy stones with fair colors, and lay thy foundations with
- 8:16sapphires. And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of
- 8:22carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones. And all thy children shall
- 8:28be taught of the Lord. And great shall be the peace of thy children.
- 8:33In righteousness. Shalt thou be established. Thou shalt be far from oppression,
- 8:39for thou shalt not fear and from terror, for it shall not come
- 8:43near THEE. Behold, they shall surely gather together against THEE. Not by
- 8:48me. Whosoever shall gather together against THEE shall fall for thy sake. Behold,
- 8:54I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and
- 8:58that bringeth an instrument for his work. And I have created the waste to
- 9:03destroy. No weapon that is formed against ye shall prosper. And every tongue
- 9:09that shall revile against thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the
- 9:15heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me,
- 9:20Saith the Lord. Third Nephi, chapter twenty three. And now behold,
- 9:26I say unto you that ye ought to search these things. Yea a commandment
- 9:31I given to you, that ye search these things diligently. For great are
- 9:35the words of Isaiah. For surely he spake as touching all things concerning my
- 9:39people, which are of the House of Israel. Therefore it must needs be
- 9:45that he must speak also to the gentiles. And all things that he spake
- 9:50have been and shall be even according to the words which he spake. Therefore,
- 9:54give heed to my words. Write the things which I have told you,
- 10:00And according to the time and the will of the Father, they shall
- 10:03go forth unto the gentiles. And whosoever will hearken unto my words and repenteth
- 10:07and is baptized, the same shall be saved. Search the prophets, for
- 10:13many there be that testify of these things. And now it came to pass
- 10:18that when Jesus had said these words, he said unto them again. After
- 10:22he had expounded all the scriptures unto them which they had received, he said,
- 10:26unto them, behold other scriptures. I would that ye should write that
- 10:31ye have not. And it came to pass that he said, unto Nephi,
- 10:35bring forth the record which ye have kept. And when Nephi had brought
- 10:39forth the records and laid them before him, he cast his eyes upon them
- 10:43and said, verily, I say unto you. I commanded my servant Samuel
- 10:48to Lamanite, that he should testify unto this people, that at the day
- 10:52that the Father should glorify his name in me, that there were many saints
- 10:56who should arise from the dead, and should appear unto many, and should
- 11:01minister unto them. And he said, unto them, was it not so?
- 11:05And his disciples answered him and said, yea Lord, Samuel did prophesy
- 11:11according to thy words. And they were all fulfilled. And Jesus said,
- 11:16unto them, howbeit that ye have not written this thing, that many saints
- 11:22did arise and appear unto many, and did minister unto them. And it
- 11:26came to pass that Nephi remembered that this thing had not been written. And
- 11:31it came to pass that Jesus commanded that it should be written. Therefore it
- 11:35was written according as he commanded. And now it came to pass that when
- 11:39Jesus had expounded all the scriptures in one which they had written, he commanded
- 11:45them that they should teach the things which he had expounded unto them, Chapter
- 11:50twenty four. And it came to pass that he commanded them that they should
- 11:54write the words which the Father had given unto Malachi, which he should tell
- 12:00unto them. And it came to pass that after they were written, he
- 12:03expounded them. And these are the words which he did tell unto them,
- 12:07saying, thus said the Father and Malachi. Behold, I will send my
- 12:13messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me, And the Lord whom
- 12:16ye seek shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the Covenant,
- 12:22whom ye delight in. Behold, he shall come, Saith, the
- 12:24Lord of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming, and
- 12:31who shall stand when he appeareth. For he is like a refiner's fire and
- 12:35like fuller's soap. And he shall sit as a refiner in purifier of silver,
- 12:41and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold
- 12:46and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.
- 12:52Then shall the offering of Judah and a Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord,
- 12:56as in the days of old, and as inform years. And I will
- 13:01come near to you to judgment. And I will be a swift witness against
- 13:05the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against
- 13:09those who oppressed the hireling in his wages, the widow and the fatherless,
- 13:13And that turn aside the stranger, and fear not me, saith the Lord
- 13:18of Hosts. For I am the Lord. I change not. Therefore,
- 13:22ye, sons of Jacob, are not consumed even from the days of your
- 13:26fathers. Ye are gone away from mine ordinances and have not kept them.
- 13:33Return unto me, And I will return unto you, saith the Lord of
- 13:35Hosts. But ye say, wherein shall we return? Will a man rob
- 13:43God? Yet ye have robbed me? But ye say wherein have we robbed
- 13:48thee In tithes and offerings? Ye are cursed with a curse, for ye
- 13:54have robbed me even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the
- 13:58story house. That there may be meet in my house and prove me now
- 14:03herewith Saith the Lord of Hosts. If I will not open you the windows
- 14:07of heaven and pour you out of blessing, that there shall not be room
- 14:11enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes.
- 14:16And he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground. Neither shall your vine
- 14:20cast her fruit before the time in the field, Saith the Lord of Hosts,
- 14:24and all nations shall call you blessed, for ye shall be a delightsome
- 14:28land, Saith, the Lord of Hosts. Your words have been stout against
- 14:33me, Saith the Lord. Yet ye say, what have we spoken against
- 14:37thee? Ye have said it is vain to serve God? And what doth
- 14:43it prophet? That we have kept His ordinances, and that we have walked
- 14:46mournfully before the Lord of Hosts. And now we call the proud happy.
- 14:52YEA, they that work wickedness are set up. YEA, they that temph
- 14:56God are even delivered. Then that feared the Lord spake often one to another,
- 15:03and the Lord hearkened and heard, and a book of remembrance was written
- 15:07before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name,
- 15:11and they shall be mine, saith the Lord of Hosts. In that
- 15:16day, when I make up my jewels, and I will spare them,
- 15:18as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return
- 15:24and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and
- 15:28him that serveth him not thirty five, Chapter twenty five. For behold the
- 15:37day cometh that shall burn as an oven, and all the proud Yea,
- 15:39and all that do wickedly shall be stubble. And the day that cometh shall
- 15:45burn them up, saith the Lord of Hosts, that it shall leave them
- 15:48neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name, shall the
- 15:52Son of Righteousness arise with healing in his wings. And ye shall go forth
- 15:58and grow up as calves in the stall, and ye shall tread down the
- 16:02wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet. And
- 16:04the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of Hosts, Remember
- 16:08ye the law of Moses, my servant, which I commanded unto him in
- 16:12Horreb. For all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold, I
- 16:17will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day
- 16:21of the Lord. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the
- 16:25children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come
- 16:29and smite the earth with a curse. Thirdy Fi, Chapter twenty six.
- 16:36And now it came to pass that when Jesus had told these things, he
- 16:40expounded them unto the multitude. And he did expound all things unto them,
- 16:44both great and small. And he saith these scriptures which ye have not with
- 16:48you. The Father commanded that I should give unto you, for it was
- 16:52wisdom in him that they should be given unto future generations. And he did
- 16:57expound all things, even from the beginning until the time that he should come
- 17:02in his glory. Yea, even all things which should come upon the face
- 17:06of the earth, even till the elements should melt with fervent heat, and
- 17:11the earth should be wrapped together as a scroll, and the heavens and the
- 17:15earth should pass away, and even unto the great and last day, when
- 17:18all people, and all kindreds, and all nations and tongues shall stand before
- 17:22God to be judged of their works, whether they be good or whether they
- 17:26be evil, for if they be good, to the resurrection of everlasting life,
- 17:32and if they be evil, to the resurrection of damnation, being on
- 17:36a parallel, the one on the one hand and the other on the other
- 17:38hand, according to the mercy and the justice and the holiness which is in
- 17:42Christ, who was before the world began. And now there cannot be written
- 17:48in this book even a hundredth part of the things which Jesus did truly teach
- 17:51under the people. But behold, the plates of Nephi do contain the more
- 17:55part of the things which he taught the people. And these things have I
- 18:00which are a lesser part of the things which He taught the people. And
- 18:03I have written them to the intent that they may be brought again unto this
- 18:07people from the gentiles, according to the words which Jesus hath spoken. And
- 18:12when they shall have received this, which is expedient, that they should have
- 18:17first to try their faith. And if it shall so be that they shall
- 18:21believe these things, then shall the greater things be made manifest unto them.
- 18:26And if it so be that they will not believe these things, then shall
- 18:29the greater things be withheld from them unto their condemnation. Behold, I was
- 18:34about to write them all which were engraven upon the plates of Nephi, but
- 18:38the Lord forbade it, saying, I will try the faith of my people.
- 18:45Therefore, I, Mormon, do right the things which have been commanded
- 18:48me of the Lord. And now I, Mormon, make an end of
- 18:52my sayings, and proceed to write the things which have been commanded me.
- 18:56Therefore I would that ye should behold that the Lord truly did teach the people
- 19:00for the space of three days, and after that he did show himself unto
- 19:04them oft, and did break bread oft and bless it and give it unto
- 19:08them. And it came to pass that he did teach and minister unto the
- 19:11children of the multitude of whom hath been spoken, and he did loose their
- 19:15tongues, and they did speak unto their Father's great and marvelous things, even
- 19:21greater than he had revealed unto the people. And he loosed their tongues that
- 19:26they could utter. And it came to pass that, after he had ascended
- 19:29into heaven the second time, that he showed himself unto them, and had
- 19:33gone unto the Father, after having healed all their sick and their lame,
- 19:37and opened the eyes of their blind and unstopped the ears of the death,
- 19:41and even had done all manner of cures among them, and raised a man
- 19:45from the dead, and had shown forth his power unto them, and had
- 19:48ascended unto the Father. Behold, it came to pass on the morrow that
- 19:52the multitude gathered themselves together, and they both saw and heard these children.
- 19:57Yea, even babes did open their mouths and utter marvelous things. And the
- 20:03things which they did utter were forbidden, that there should not any man write
- 20:07to them. And it came to pass that the disciples whom Jesus had chosen
- 20:11began from that time force to baptize and to teach as many as that come
- 20:17unto them, And as many as were baptized in the name of Jesus were
- 20:21filled with the Holy Ghost. And many of them saw and heard unspeakable things
- 20:26which are not lawful to be written. And they taught and did minister one
- 20:30to another. And they had all things common among them, every man dealing
- 20:34justly one with another. And it came to pass that they did do all
- 20:38things even as Jesus had commanded them. And they who were baptized in the
- 20:44name of Jesus were called the Church of Christ. End of thirt Neyphive,
- 20:52Chapters twenty one through twenty six
