- 0:00Speaker 1: No marks the Long Show nine till noon weekday for
- 0:04Speaker 1: Mark sevent tenor.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 0:12Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Dennis
- 0:15Speaker 2: Massa peak with Dennis. How you doing?
- 0:18Speaker 3: Okay? I was gonna say when the price is I'm
- 0:22Speaker 3: really old. It's a price of steak. Was I got
- 0:24Speaker 3: a steak dinner for fifteen dollars a while back and
- 0:28Speaker 3: it was a ten percent.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Dollars wasn't Calvin Coolidge years fifteen dollars.
- 0:32Speaker 3: No Veggie's on eighty sixth Street. It was really nice
- 0:35Speaker 3: voice steakhouse. Okay, so that was a long time ago.
- 0:39Speaker 3: I'm very old.
- 0:41Speaker 2: But how old are you are?
- 0:44Speaker 3: Maybe six?
- 0:45Speaker 2: That's not that old, Okay, you're getting.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. If the price of the steak went up
- 0:54Speaker 3: now fifty dollars, steak is eighty dollars. Did when you
- 0:58Speaker 3: give a twenty percent tip, it's goes up?
- 1:03Speaker 2: You're absolutely right. Now. I just say, in defense of
- 1:07Speaker 2: all these steak places, the price of beef has gone crazy.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:12Speaker 2: That has nothing to do with inflation, nothing to do
- 1:15Speaker 2: with Trump. There was all kinds of problems in the
- 1:17Speaker 2: cattle world. They lost a lot of cows and a
- 1:20Speaker 2: lot of cat so there was a shortage. That's that's
- 1:23Speaker 2: the reason price cote. But when you go to a
- 1:26Speaker 2: steakhouse and it's like ninety five dollars for a steak,
- 1:28Speaker 2: believe it or not, the restaurant is paying like ninety
- 1:31Speaker 2: four dollars for the steak, and they're losing money on
- 1:35Speaker 2: the steak because the other dollar doesn't cover the rent.
- 1:39Speaker 2: The staff all that they're actually losing money on the steak.
- 1:43Speaker 2: So they make all the money now on the side dishes.
- 1:47Speaker 2: If you order broccoli, it's fifteen bucks and it costs
- 1:50Speaker 2: them like fifteen cents for the broccoli, if you order
- 1:53Speaker 2: French fries, any side dishes where they're making all the money,
- 1:56Speaker 2: not the steak. So if two people go to eat
- 1:58Speaker 2: and one order is the most expense of steak on
- 2:00Speaker 2: the menu, they don't like that guy. But if the
- 2:03Speaker 2: other one just orders nothing but side dishes, they're making
- 2:05Speaker 2: enough fortune off that guy. Let's go to David in Connecticut. David,
- 2:09Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 2:11Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:11Speaker 1: Hey, Mark good?
- 2:12Speaker 4: Hey. I got a rule regarding tipping. If I stand
- 2:15Speaker 4: in order, I don't tip. Now. Granted, if it's college
- 2:18Speaker 4: kids at a vacation place down at LBI or something
- 2:20Speaker 4: like that. I'll tip them something. But if I'm sitting
- 2:23Speaker 4: then I definitely tip.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Well, that's a very good rule. If you're standing up
- 2:26Speaker 2: and you never sit down once. If you're standing in
- 2:28Speaker 2: a counter or you don't tip. I like that. It's
- 2:30Speaker 2: a good rule. Where are you in Connecticut?
- 2:33Speaker 4: Uh? New London.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Oh that's way out there, way out there. Yeah, that's
- 2:38Speaker 2: practically Fox way up way. It's way up by the
- 2:41Speaker 2: naval base there, way up the coast. Anyway, thanks for calling.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Let's go to Sam in Greenwich, Connecticut. Sam, how you doing.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Great?
- 2:49Speaker 5: I donated to blake when I believe in him and
- 2:52Speaker 5: I hope he wins.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman will be a great governor. You're in Connecticut.
- 2:56Speaker 2: You need Ryan Fozzio to win in November. He's the
- 3:00Speaker 2: Republican Canada. Donate to him too.
- 3:03Speaker 5: And as far as the steak, as far as the
- 3:05Speaker 5: stakes go, the best steak is at jay House.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Absolutely, Tony Capasso the restaurant at Jay House that's in Greenwich, Connecticut.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Tony's does have the best steak.
- 3:15Speaker 5: Uh.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Check out my Instagram. You gotta scroll back a while,
- 3:18Speaker 2: but you'll see some steak pictures there. He also has
- 3:20Speaker 2: the best sushi. He also has an incredible pasta Tony's
- 3:24Speaker 2: at Jay House, Greenwich, Connecticut. Let's go to h Richard
- 3:28Speaker 2: and Bay Shore, Richard. How you doing.
- 3:31Speaker 6: I'm doing well market morning. You know, I have all
- 3:33Speaker 6: the apps on my phone for most of the fast foods,
- 3:36Speaker 6: and they're all like Papa John's or Subway. They're all
- 3:39Speaker 6: looking for ten fifteen. They got the buttons there for tips.
- 3:43Speaker 2: All right. First of all, wait, you gotta get you
- 3:46Speaker 2: gotta get better apps. Subway, you can do better than that.
- 3:50Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Well.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Hey, you know that Mike Mike's jersey whatever jersey, mike'sub
- 3:59Speaker 2: that's actually better than Subway. It's pretty good.
- 4:01Speaker 6: I agree. I agree with you there. But even even
- 4:04Speaker 6: the OFFAICS was like McDonald's looking for our donations to
- 4:07Speaker 6: Ronald McDonald's house, and you know they were looking for
- 4:12Speaker 6: you to hit that button and nothing in.
- 4:14Speaker 1: The end of the day.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Yeah, no, you're right. Good point. Now. The other thing is, besides,
- 4:20Speaker 2: I don't want to if I'm in a supermarket or
- 4:22Speaker 2: in McDonald's, I don't want to give to your charity.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I mean, I love to give it to charity. But
- 4:25Speaker 2: let me do it myself. I don't trust you to
- 4:27Speaker 2: give it to you know, the supermarket before you check out.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Would you like to donate three percent of veterans? Yeah,
- 4:34Speaker 2: but not through you. I don't know where you're giving
- 4:37Speaker 2: it to. Let's go to Terry in Uh got to
- 4:41Speaker 2: move to town that I know how to pronounce.
- 4:42Speaker 1: What is it?
- 4:43Speaker 2: Mana hawk in New Jersey?
- 4:45Speaker 5: Terry Correct, they gotta bring they got to bring back
- 4:48Speaker 5: Cats steakhouse. That's stick man fight, all of steaks, a
- 4:51Speaker 5: big potato and the flames in the front of the
- 4:54Speaker 5: place with the steaks. That looks like Fred Lunstone Barbecue.
- 4:57Speaker 7: But the thing is, I'm really just just really pissed
- 5:01Speaker 7: off of hout what's going on today because so many
- 5:03Speaker 7: people support legal immigration. That's a million Third world is
- 5:06Speaker 7: coming in every year. He tolk me about who's going
- 5:08Speaker 7: to win the elections. That's how they win with all
- 5:11Speaker 7: the immigrants.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Who do you do do you think was working there
- 5:14Speaker 2: at Tad's Steakhouse? It was all illegals back there working
- 5:17Speaker 2: at Tad Steakhouse.
- 5:19Speaker 7: Because the Americans are afraid to work and they hit
- 5:22Speaker 7: on the women.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Come on, you know what going I know, but there
- 5:24Speaker 2: you were going to Tad's like living like a sultan,
- 5:27Speaker 2: like a like an oligarch with a three dollars steak
- 5:30Speaker 2: from Tad's. But it was always illegals and the kid.
- 5:33Speaker 2: That was a great place, Tad's Steakhouse. No longer there.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Let's go to gym in New Jersey. Jim, how you
- 5:38Speaker 2: doing well? I hope this isn't a wait of a
- 5:42Speaker 2: phone call. But I sadly saw on Facebook that an
- 5:45Speaker 2: actress guy. She would have been one hundred and one
- 5:47Speaker 2: next month, and she was a regular on Dragnet with

- 5:54Speaker 2: hear of a Peggy Weber Mark, Yeah, she was in
- 5:56Speaker 2: a million. Everybody would know her face if they saw.

- 6:05Speaker 1: sixty and anyhow she died, she was it would have
- 6:07Speaker 1: been one hundred and one in September.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Well, that's pretty good. I'll sign up for one hundred
- 6:11Speaker 2: and one. That's not bad.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I didn't know.
- 6:13Speaker 1: And Blake died too, Mark, she died in June and Blake,
- 6:16Speaker 1: they're all gone now I'm.

- 6:30Speaker 2: never know their name, You never knew their name, but
- 6:32Speaker 2: you know their face instantly because you saw them and
- 6:35Speaker 2: every They were character actors. They were in every sitcom.
- 6:38Speaker 2: They were in Dragnet, they were in the Monsters, they
- 6:42Speaker 2: were in Petticoat Junction, they were on the Brady Butt.
- 6:45Speaker 2: They all just always, uh, you need a guy to
- 6:47Speaker 2: play the banker, You need a guy to play the
- 6:49Speaker 2: delivery guy, you need a guy to play the attorney.
- 6:53Speaker 2: It was. There were just certain people, and they made
- 6:56Speaker 2: a nice living doing that. They would do fifty shows
