- 0:27SPEAKER_01: No no.
- 0:28SPEAKER_02: Oh, so multiple people.
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: Because an artist recognised that we were on a break.
- 0:33SPEAKER_02: True.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: She did.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: It was a guy.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: Who are you talking about?
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: Belle Styles.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: Oh no, I'm talking about Ethan Callaway.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Oh true.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Ethan Callaway did say that.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Um no, Annabelle was like, have you been on a break?
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Um when are you recording your next episode?
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: And I was like, tonight, actually.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: I'm like, thanks for playing in front of everybody.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: If your Benji hasn't noticed, then what else?
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: What chance to it?
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Tell you what.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: Because everyone else.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: My mama ja, hashtag has not noticed.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: True.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: My dad hasn't really meant.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: Actually, I he knows we're on a break, I told him.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: Okay, good.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, anyway, guys, we're back.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: We are so excited because we've got some new fun guests coming on the show.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Um, really exciting, a little bit like left field, what we usually do, but we think that you're all gonna absolutely love our guests because we've kind of hand-picked them and I think they're gonna be perfect.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: For you guys, should we tease what the series is?
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: No, we should just but like what it's about.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: Well, what is it about?
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: Well, that it's not country artists.
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: Whoa.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: No, it won't yeah, okay, all right.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Just to get people excited, I feel like.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so we've got some people who are not country artists are gonna be coming on the show, which is so exciting.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Maybe we should get a country music hater on the show and try and turn them.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Try and convert them.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: Well, at the moment we're getting lovers, country music lovers, but maybe we'll get a hater as well.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I kind of like it.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, all right, we can do that.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Okay, a little also shout out because we have we may not have noticed because they're camo, but we have our brand new camo caps on, and we just restocked them.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: They're not brand new, they're loved.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they are actually and requested.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: They actually are, but they are limited as well.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but they're back.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: We've got them back.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: We brought them back just before festival season kicks off, so we're very excited about yeah, we want everyone wearing them.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Yep, and this will be like I mean, you I personally wear mine every single day.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: I was thinking the other day, I probably haven't seen your scalp in like so long.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because you're either wearing a cowboy hat or a cap.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: No, no, I don't I don't do that vibe.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: I'm a hat only girl.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: And then we're also gonna be bringing out something else which is cool, but I'm not gonna tell you what it is yet until we get it finalized because but some cool little fashion pieces that we want everyone to wear at the festivals because we know that that's like half the fun of going to a country festival is the fits.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Is the fits.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: So like some cool merch.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Some ladies love country merch is on the way, and we are so excited about it.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: There's a hint.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: It's not the jumpers.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Which is lucky because otherwise the whole episode so far has been we're gonna have some guests on, but we can't tell you.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: We've got some other stuff we're bringing up, but we can't tell you that either.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: We'll go into what we can talk about.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: Okay, please go ahead.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: No, it's actually so exciting.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: We have so many festivals and concerts coming up.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: I feel like there was a bit of a down period.
- 3:51SPEAKER_02: Yep, but we did go to Adelaide in the down period.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: Right Adelaide, actually.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: Can we just say the country scene in Adelaide?
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: Unreal going off.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it literally is.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: There are so many.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: I think of all the shows that we've played, that's probably been the most like authentic country audience.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: Harry's now bringing his sister along too.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: He just messaged me.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: We have an entourage for Nashville joke.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: We booked a wait, when are you going to Nashville?
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: November.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: The CMA Awards.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: That's cool.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Would you like to come?
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: No, that's fine.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: The offer is always there, Doc.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: It'd be fun if I was there, I'd reckon.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: Pardon?
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: It'd be it'd probably be fun if I was there.
- 4:42unknown: Yeah.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: Of course it would be.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: No, no, but you didn't want me, so I'd like to carry on.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: No, can I just say one of the best parts about Adelaide was we went out with these two girls.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: One was Grace's age, young, the other one was my age.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: Obviously older than Grace.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: Also young.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Anyway, it was good because Grace and her friend, who was her age, was like, oh, we're really tired.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: No, it's 2 a.m.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: And we've been we've been moving, we've been fucking horse riding, I've been cantering around the place.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: Then we've been getting at shops, filming content, you know, I had a little bit DJ, and it was 20.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Okay, and I was like, you know what?
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: I've had a great day.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go break at her.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: And I could tell she was like, I just wanna go home.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: And I was like, I need to leave, like now.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: I think it was even 2.30, it wasn't even 20, it was past that.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: And then Hollywood's like, you know, do we have to?
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: And I was like, I'm just gonna go, you stay.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, and then the girl my age was like, yeah, I'll stay too.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: And I was like, fuck yeah.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: So the you know, our me and my age group friend went home and then we were in bed, we're gonna have peaches and had a licorice tea, we were vibing, and then you guys came in and then we were up till four.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: See, this is my problem with you in that you stay, I'm so tired, let's go home.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: And like, yeah, totally understand.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: We will still end up being up for another hour and a half.
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: If we stayed out, it would have been it would have been 6 30 in the morning.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: Because I'm more of a I could go to bed straight away.
- 6:19SPEAKER_02: So then I'm like, I may as well stay up and then go straight to sleep.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: I'm buzzed.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: I think every single time when we stayed out until like the end of the race is still up, is that what we're doing?
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: And then you guys wake me up, okay?
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: That's what I mean.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: She always ends up still being awake.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: Like, you better get out.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: By the time Granny does her bloody end-of-day routine, has all of her medication.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Dudes, I'm fucking the content machine, okay?
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: I'm not just like sitting there like scrolling.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm the content machine.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: You're the geriatric machine.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: I'm fucking working all day.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: I'm grinding that fucking iPhone.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: I don't understand.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Grinding to number one.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: You still have glass left on that bad boy.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: I'm scrolling all day long, okay?
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: I'm surprised you know your way around it, boomer.
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: Anyway, that's why I'm glad you're not coming to the CMC drop.
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: I need a new partner in crime.
- 7:22SPEAKER_03: Whoa.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: Who's gonna stay out at the CMC tailgate with me?
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, you have to find someone your own age, huh?
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: Anyways, um moving on, not my homebody.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Moving on, moving on, moving on.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: I'm just a I'm just a homebody, you know.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Did you say homebody or old body?
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: I almost but my I'm a homebody.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: I just want to be at home, you know.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: In your rocking chair.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: Just like you're an introvert.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: She sent me this thing the other day, and it was like this girl, this influencer that before she like um goes and socializes, that she has to be in the taxi and like really quiet and stuff like that, and she sent it to me.
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: And because the caption was like something about being introverted, and I was like, Yes, but Grace, you're not introverted.
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: This is very different.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but like remember that time that before we had Zach and George, and I had to sit there medicine.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: That's you nervous, not yeah, yeah, yeah, but like the same deal.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: It's not introverted and nervousness is not the same thing.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: You should have seen her.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: It's the quietest she's ever been in her life.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and the same thing before Tucker Wetmore was sparked.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Who's the most nervous you've been in front of an artist?
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: Which artist were you most nervous for?
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, Vince Mason.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: Like you better beep out that name.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, true.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: Um, also because um when I said about Friday night lights, he was like, How do you know that?
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: I'm totally gonna clip that up.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: How do you think I know that?
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: Um, I think we should have a little moment for his girlfriend.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: True.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: Let's take a moment to talk about Vincent Mason and the cones, glancing and free.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: Oh my goodness, the glow up?
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Is that what you're talking about?
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Well, yes, okay.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: We, I don't think this has surfaced much, but it's not talked enough.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: It's it's 100% not in the news, and it fucking should be because there are people who go through relationships and they do the opposite of a glow up.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: Vincent Mason has gone above and beyond what a normal he has gotten so hot.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: I also want to say people always talk about Ella Langley's glow-up, like, which, fair enough, insane.
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: Like amazing.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: Like, if you do the before and after, insane.
- 9:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:54SPEAKER_02: Let's just do a before and after of Vincent Mason.
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: We can do that.
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm ping ping, okay?
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: He it's insane.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: The recent shots that we got shown when we were in Nashville, insane.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: And also can confirm in person just as attractive.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: Also super nice guy.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: Same with Hudson.
- 10:13SPEAKER_02: I also think the styles upped it a whole nother level.
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: When he wears the white um with the jeans and the fano.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: The baggy?
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: It's not talked about enough.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: It really isn't.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: But now we're talking about Vincent Mason.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: We talk about the power couple.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: Anyway, I've been told I look like him.
- 10:35SPEAKER_02: I think we could clip up every I think we could clip up every time you've said that when whenever we talk about the fact that there's someone's hot.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Hey, don't argue with the people.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: But hey Jock, would you like to come to Nashville?
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'll just check my calendar, but that sounds really fun.
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: But the tour manager manager's bots already filled.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: They can leak my gooch, honestly.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: Actually, no.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: They can have it.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna go there and have fun.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: Come out with me, youngin! Wait, wait, if you don't go with us, you wanna have fun?
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, no.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: You can be staying fine by me and they're happy to go home, Ellie.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: I need to get my beauty sleep.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: Okay?
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: Guys, if we're gonna be on the red carpet.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Do we need to get somewhere with like easy access, flats, no stairs?
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: I have no comeback to that.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: Anyways, um, so back where we were before, Stella Lefty has been getting a lot of flack.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: I feel so bad for her.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Okay, we posted a video of her doing the duet with Cameron Whitcomb at Stagecoach.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: It was a Tyler Childer song and it was all yours.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: She also covers that song heaps on her own socials as well.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, he he basically she's done a lot of songs that are quite similar.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: This is not why, like, we don't hate on this.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: Like, if you look at art and songwriting as a as like an art form, right?
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: It happens in like visual art, it happens in all like all art and culture.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: It's no one comes up with original ideas.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: The same thing in architecture, no one has an original idea anymore.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: Because all of it is appropriation.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: Fine, there are a lot of similarities, but like she has been so successful in such a short period of time in her own right.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: So, like, just let the girl go.
- 12:40SPEAKER_02: I think it's funny because we actually posted a video that was incorrect.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: I realised about this direction.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: About that, because we said that Noah Kahn helped write the song because he credited songs, and I didn't realise it was because finally his team um yeah, because I know, so I'm saying we're ahead of the curve.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we did actually flag this to everyone about three or four months ago when we did the video.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: Because I didn't realise, but apparently Noah Khan's team reached out to her and said this sounds a bit the same, and she was like, totally understand, I'll put you in the credits.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: And so it's like Really?
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: So I don't know.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: I think it's fine.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: There's like literally that jelly roll song that's Take Me Home Country Road.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: Do you know what one I'm talking about?
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: Literally, it's the whole song is um wait, it's with um Machine Gun Kelly as well.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: Lonely Road.
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: They literally What?
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: Like, of course, mean Machine Gun Kelly and Jelly Roll do no wrong, but Stella Lefty, no, you're not allowed to copy that.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, everyone just loves to hate.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: I don't know what it is about the internet, but they just absolutely love to hate.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: But I personally think that she's gonna be I mean on the other hand, like if you look at it, like, okay, yeah, like everyone's hating her on the internet, but she literally sold out her entire show, running.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: I think it's it's just the haters are hating.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: Because at the end of the day, it's a good song.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: Who cares?
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: Everyone has haters.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Everyone loves the song.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: Everyone has haters.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: Uh even us.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: And like Riley Green had haters for a bit, but everyone still loves him.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: We love you, Stella, and we're so excited for Strummingbird.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: And I think I actually think Australians won't care.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: I think it's actually the Americans that are getting all the people.
- 14:22SPEAKER_02: No, because people know what Strumming Bird is.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: That's why they were commenting on our post.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: But do you think they do like they know or they just want to have an opinion about Stella?
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's hard to tell.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: It's really hard to tell who's actually commenting.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: We can probably find out.
- 14:38unknown: Yeah.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: Because I don't think Australians like Australians are so excited to see Stella.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: And Noah Khan.
- 14:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: Okay, so when's Noel Khan coming?
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: October long weekend.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: Very exciting.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: Same as the NRL Grand Final, big weekend.
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be massive.
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: I actually saw him at the Hordon Pavilion, like in 2020.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: I have no idea.
- 15:01SPEAKER_02: But he wore a pink fluffy cowboy hat.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: No, he didn't.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: Iconic.
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: Someone threw it up on stage.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, and then he wore.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: I love when artists wear the things that people throw up on stage.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: They should do that.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: But he was I actually when I was at the concert, remember thinking this is one of the loudest concerts I've ever been to of people in the crowd singing along.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: Because it was like an unusual demographic.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: It was like yeah, more young people than I thought it would be.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: But this was when he was small at the Horden, so I have no idea what it's gonna be like at so he's playing the Horden again.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: No, he's paying playing after pay.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: Oh, is he?
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: He's massive.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: Is he?
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's sold out every to every concert in Australia.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: That's why we can only get two tickets.
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: Oh, cheeky rascal.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's like, and he's added more shows as well.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: It's insane.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: And Michael McCagi is the support actor.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Oh, we love Michael McCagi.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: So make sure you come go early to Noah Khan so that you can see him as well.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Because he's unreal.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: We saw him at Stagecoach.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, we did.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, I have another thing to um tell you guys about.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: Me or the world?
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: Well, actually the world, whoever's listening to the podcast.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: So, you know what I'm talking about, because we were talking about it in the car on the way here.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: Australia, we just found your new favorite country music artist.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: And like we're not even joking when we say this, he has not that many listeners.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: I don't know how many he has, but like not that many.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Not enough for how good he is.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: So he just released his second album.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: It is so it's his debut album.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Is it?
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: Oh no, Codunk.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: It's his second album.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, if you love Zach Top and if you love Zach Bryan, he is like the perfect combination of those two.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: I literally messaged Grace the minute I listened to it, and I was like, Grace, you have to listen to this album.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: He is it is insane.
- 16:55SPEAKER_02: And it got 9.3 on Country Central or whatever it is, which that's like crazy.
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: Like Sella got like five.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: I think even Matt Geiger didn't even get that high.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's but it's well deserved.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: It is like I listened to it running today, and I was like, oh my god, this is so telling.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: In case we didn't say who the name is, it's Trey Penley.
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: Trey Penley is unreal.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: If you haven't listened to our episode with him, go and listen to it because we actually talk about him writing a song for Luke Combs and how like that all went about, which I still think is such a crazy story.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: He's such a good storyteller as well.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: You can tell why he's good at writing like writing.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: Really, really talented songwriter, really talented, like voice, like super like country.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: And his wife sings on all the songs.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: Does she?
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: She's the one harmonising with him.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Stop.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so cute.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, it's it's really, really, really good.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: Like, really good.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: I really, I I really want him to tour Australia.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: I feel like the Australian audience will absolutely love him.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: We need to, we're pushing him.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: This is our push.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: This is our push.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: This is our this is our AR.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: We kind of haven't found it, but whatever.
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: Well, we could have said no to interviewing him.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's true.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: But I still remember when we got the email from Avery being like, do you want to interview this guy?
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: And I listened to him for the first time, and I was like, yes.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: And even though he was like so small, because she interviewed us, she asked us to interview him when we went for stagecoach.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: So this was in April or like March, she interviewed, which like he had didn't have, he wasn't as even less well known than he is now.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: I think he had like 25,000 listens or something.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: Crazy.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: Go listen to him.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: Trey Pendley.
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: Oh, we should also talk about the other tour that's just been announced.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: Megan Moroni.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, I was like.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: Guys, Megan Moroni is coming to Australia, and this is the most exciting news that we've had all year.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: I can't believe it.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: I can't believe it.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: She's coming.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: Everyone's so excited.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: I'm so excited.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: We are so excited.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: Okay, we have to say more than be excited.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: No, I'm actually.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: I think it'll be so cool that she's playing it after pay.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: That's massive.
- 19:10SPEAKER_02: It is massive.
- 19:10SPEAKER_02: It is massive.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: For a female country artist, like that's a big deal.
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: Okay, if you don't know who Megan Moroni is, you do everyone would know who she is because of the Riley Green drama.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: True.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: She's like, I think one of the mainstream pop culture moments in country is Ella Langley, Megan Maroney, and Riley Green.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: We love triangle of all.
- 19:30SPEAKER_02: Like shameless talked about it.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: That's so true.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: So people know who she is.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: And I do think, again, it's the brand.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: Everyone knows her brand.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: She's the blonde with the curly hat.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: Why did she change it?
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: Well, it was it was pink, now it's blue.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: Oh no, but she changes that every album.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: She's going yellow next album.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: Does she change it every album?
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:52SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 19:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's so cool.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: So her first album was green, her second album was blue, her third album was pink, and her next album's about to be.
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: Oh, and maybe one.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and then the next one's yellow.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: I thought it was just pink, and I thought like she did a couple albums on the pink and then she changed the blue and was off her.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: Well, it's like her that's why she's so clever is her whole brand, her every outfit, everything she does, every post is centered around that one colour for the album, and then she moves on to the next album.
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: She's actually very clever.
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, someone told us that it was all her.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: And I think even at her shows, she does like the Taylor Swift um picker, uh like the random song, and she has all of her dresses on this hanger, and she goes through the dresses, and each of them are a different colour, and then she like grabs out the colour of the dress that she's gonna play the song from the album, and like the crowd goes wild because it's like what dress is she gonna pick to then like play that song from the card.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, she's a superstar.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: She's actually so clever with all of her marketing.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: Props to you, Megan Ray.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: Oh Megan! Woo!
- 20:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think people and Lacey K.
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: Booth.
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: I actually am really excited to see her.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Yes, okay.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: We have to take a moment for Lacey K.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Booth because she is so hot.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, her voice is insane as well.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: What is her national is she?
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: She has an lot good aura about her.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: She does have good aura.
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: Oh, what?
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: She came fourth on American Idol.
- 21:16SPEAKER_02: All American artists come from Australian Idol.
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: I mean American Idol.
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: Or the voice.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: Like Dragonil again.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: But I feel like we never watched the American version, so we never know.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: Max McNown?
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: Cameron Whitcomb.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: Oh, true! James Johnston.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: Twice! He did both shows, yeah.
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: So so what?
- 21:37SPEAKER_02: I guess it's a good way to get Tory Dark.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: He on the voice.
- 21:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: Wow, she was too.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: Not that I watched it, but yeah.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: Guys, let's talk about a quick update on the country calendar for October.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: Because considering we're already in September, like let's just move on to October.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: So we've got Strumming Bird Touring Festival, which is really exciting because it was headlined by Post Malone.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: Sad face.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: He isn't gonna play it anymore.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: I'm actually Yeah, I'm fine with it.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: I'm okay with it.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: I'm totally fine with it.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: I'm actually really upset that um Sam Barber isn't coming to Newcastle or Sunny Coast, but we do have Tyler Childers.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: I know there are some huge Tyler Childers fans in Australia.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: All I wanted was to listen to I Had Some Help.
- 22:22unknown: Yeah.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: And put Post Malone.
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: You may as well go do a Morgan Mallone show.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: No, I actually love Post Malone and I know a lot of his songs, but it's okay.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I'll see him again.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: Um and then on the lineup, let's pull it up actually.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness, this is not going on air, but Jock, do you want to hear the most exciting news ever?
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: Obviously.
- 22:43SPEAKER_02: Guess what's getting announced next month?
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: They're changing the date of Christmas.
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: Coming to Australia.
- 22:53unknown: When?
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: I don't know, but it's getting announced next month.
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness, I'm going to every show.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: Oh come.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: Let's fly around Australia.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: And the we'll just leave the boomer at home.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, done.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: Because you know it's it's tough to travel with old people.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: So the headliners are Tyler Childers and Sam Barber.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: Then we have Bailey Zimmerman.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: If you have not seen Bailey Zimmerman, you have to see Bailey Zimmerman.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: Be at the front, don't miss it.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: He's so much hotter in person.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: Agreed.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: And also, I was thinking he'll be tanned.
- 23:29SPEAKER_02: Because he'll hopefully have some time in the sun in Australia, or maybe he'll be a tomato.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: Oh dear.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: Um, Cooper Allen.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: At the end of summer, I've been told I look like him.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: Give me strength.
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: Cooper Allen, do you want to know some funny, some quite shocking news about him?
- 23:47SPEAKER_02: Please.
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: He's about to sell out his second venue upgrade in Perth.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: What?
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: So he they were gonna play a venue, it sold out, so he's upgraded his venue.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: He's about to sell out that upgraded venue, which is 4,000 people.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: It will be his biggest headline show ever.
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: And it's Perth.
- 24:07SPEAKER_02: What?
- 24:08SPEAKER_02: God the Perth.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: I know, it kind of just proves that like Strumming Bird's no longer in Perth, but there is a marketable.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: There's definitely still a market for it.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, next up we've got Stella Lefty.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: You guys know who she is.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: Dexter and the Moonrocks love them.
- 24:22SPEAKER_02: I actually they I like their song with Treaty Oak Revival.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: I think if you like Treaty Oak Revival, you'd like Dexter and the Moonrocks.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: Very exciting that Wade's doing a song.
- 24:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, I'm so excited.
- 24:32SPEAKER_02: And I love that it got announced on his birthday.
- 24:35SPEAKER_02: Like, he would be so excited about it.
- 24:37SPEAKER_02: Um, Brad Cox, always love a classic.
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure who Cam is.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: Oh, I she has a song everywhere.
- 24:45SPEAKER_02: Um she's played CMC.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: I saw her my first ever CMC.
- 24:49SPEAKER_02: The girlies love her.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 24:51SPEAKER_02: Um, she has a really good song called Burning House, and it's really good.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, vibes.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: Um, Cigarettes at Sunset.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: I don't really know them.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: I think they're Australian, yeah.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Don't know.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: Kitlin Butts.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: I'm excited to see her again.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: Noah Rinkart.
- 25:08SPEAKER_02: We're not missing him.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: I am so excited.
- 25:11SPEAKER_02: Fred Van Dana.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: That was like my number one song in 2020 something.
- 25:15SPEAKER_02: I think when we went on our South Australia road trip, I feel like every time we'd get in the car, I'd play it.
- 25:22SPEAKER_02: Because I was January 2025.
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:25SPEAKER_02: It was like, yeah, that was also rinsed.
- 25:27SPEAKER_02: Um, harmonica song that gets played all over TikTok is the Noah Rinka song.
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: So if you like a harmonica, just go to Strumming Bird.
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: Okay, Brianna Dinsdale, Matt Geiger, Max Jackson.
- 25:40SPEAKER_02: She has kissed.
- 25:40SPEAKER_02: It's so Matt Geiger, like realistically, she should be way higher up on that lineup.
- 25:46SPEAKER_01: She's Max Jackson.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, true.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: Um, Sarah Burkey, cannot wait to see her because she's got some new tunes coming out, and they'll be out by the time I think that she actually gets around to it.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: Willie Peg, go off.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: Late night riot.
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: What's that?
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: And then we might have something in store for you guys, but we might not.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: We're working on it.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: I'll love to wait and see.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: Okay, then we've also got a really cool one in Ballarat, Lewis Love.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: He's so so good.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: So, like, do not miss him.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: 100% do not miss him.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Newcastle, Lauren Ryan.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: I actually don't know that.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: And Sammy White.
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, cute.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: That's Brad Cochner's wife.
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: So cute.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: So, guys, it's gonna be an absolute vibe, and we're so excited.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: Following that, there is Groundwater Country Music Festival, which is we love we love that.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: It's like the same setup as CMA Fest in Nashville.
- 26:39SPEAKER_02: Really good Aussie artists on the lineup.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: If you're on the GC or the Sunny Coast, like that's the perfect one to go.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: And it's free.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: Jackie Cowboy boots on, let's go.
- 26:48SPEAKER_02: Um, the line dancing by the beach, like where where could you line dance?
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's better than that.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's true.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: And it's usually and it's with Chris Watson, so that'll be such a vibe.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: I think Gramwater was one of our favourites last year.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: It totally was.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: Um, and then also I think we're gonna be playing a show in Sydney on the 24th of October, which is the weekend after we're just waiting on the final confirmation.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: But block that date out if you're in Sydney and you want to come to a country music show because there'll be line dancing and it will be such a vibe.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: People have been asking for more.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: They have been asking for more.
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: And we're giving it to you.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: And the most exciting thing of the month, in my opinion.
- 27:29SPEAKER_02: What?
- 27:30SPEAKER_02: It's pretty much the date we've all been waiting for.
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: The NRL Grand Final.
- 27:34SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's October.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:37SPEAKER_02: This month.
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: September.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:39SPEAKER_02: The CMC lineup drops.
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: Woo! I am so excited, and I'm so excited to see everyone's reactions as well.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: And like, yeah.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: Should we do I I've actually booked in our calendar to do a first reaction video because we don't know like the full lineup.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: It'll be so cool.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: So cool.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: Especially cool this year, because it's the 20-year anniversary.
- 28:03SPEAKER_02: I'm so excited.
- 28:05SPEAKER_02: It's the best weekend.
- 28:06SPEAKER_02: The uh, if you don't know what CMC is, doesn't matter, book your tickets.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: If you don't know, now you know.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and make sure you can't.
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, 100%.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: But we'll do a whole thing on that.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: We'll do a whole thing.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: Thanks for listening, guys.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: Make sure you subscribe so we can keep putting out episodes.
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: And um, if you love us, leave a comment or follow us on every platform we have because What if they don't?
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: Well, we're gonna take that up with me then.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm gonna come find you.
