- 0:11SPEAKER_00: You are now listening to the Not Gonna Hold Back podcast with Andrew and Peggy Schustek.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Welcome back, loyal ones, to another edition of Not Gonna Hold Back.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: This is brought to you by Andrew and Peggy Schustick every week.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: It drops Thursdays.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: If you're a loyal fan, you will be tuned in every week on Not Gonna Hold Back.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Please introduce this new segment that we're gonna have in the show soon.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: Well, today I thought we would just kind of not, you know, we we've sort of been telling you about fun stories and happenings to us along the way, but today I was super excited.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: I went and checked the mail, and you actually got your diploma from college, which was super cool because I was beginning to question whether or not he really graduated because it didn't come and it said six weeks, you know, and that's another thing too.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: Why you want to tell me something's gonna take four to six weeks?
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: And it's been three months almost maybe June, July, August.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, almost three months.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: Anyway, it came, it's beautiful, it's in the binder, it's clearly official now.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: I think it was official when he walked, but it is official, official.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: So we got that, so that's kind of cool.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: It is hanging up in our makeshift podcast studio until we get some construction going on in here.
- 1:43SPEAKER_02: Then we'll get it done.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: We're working on this room, so we're gonna make this uh place.
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: But also, I found this really cool thing.
- 1:51SPEAKER_02: It's a book.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: If any of you out there who like murder mysteries or like to read, this thing is called The Killer Isn't Alice.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: This is a book.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: It's by Iris Starling, and it's got this book of like or 46,000 suspects.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: And I'm excited to get started on this because it looks really cool.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: But it gives you, as I open it here, tells you about solving it, solving the murder mystery, and then it gives you clues.
- 2:22SPEAKER_02: And there's only like one, two, three, it's like 18 clues, maybe 20.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: And you have to go through and eliminate the names to solve the mystery.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: And I can't wait to do it.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: I know it sounds very time consuming, but I'm gonna do it in between.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: I am about to finish my master's degree at Liberty University.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: I have three more classes that start late this month, and by October I should be done.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna find out if Alice isn't the killer, who is the killer?
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: And she will tell you guys what's going on in this book once a couple times on this podcast.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: But the reason is Andrew and I are big murder mystery.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: We like like FBI shows.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: And what are some of the favorite shows out there that people are watching now?
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: I remember I think one of our favorite.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: With James Spader.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Oh, incredible, right?
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: And Megan Boone.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, Megan Boone, yes, she was good.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: I was sad she left, but that was really and uh raw moosh to buy and Dembe, if you guys want to watch it, it's on Netflix.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: I watched that for two or three seasons and then Andrew started to jump in and we watched it again from the beginning.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: It's got some very adult content, so I don't recommend recommend it for for children, but really, really good.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: Great, great actor, great cast.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: I don't know that they make any more shows like that.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: I don't watch too much TV.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: I don't watch too much TV.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: However, we are currently and we're not sure.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: VB28 is fell down this rabbit hole, and now we're watching Big Brother 28.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: We watched I think Andrew should apply to be a contestant on Big Brother 28.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Which way?
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: Which which or not 28, but in the future.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: I think I should, but I also know this podcast needs us too.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: So it's oh that's true.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: That would be 12 weeks.
- 4:31SPEAKER_02: Twelve weeks, I think it is.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: Anyway, for those of you who are not watching Big Brother, you don't like it or you've never heard of it, but it's a reality show where contestants go into a house and they're they are strangers and they compete for I I think the prize used to be like a million dollars, but I don't think it's that high anymore.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: I think they lowered it.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: But anyway, it's like a summer-long thing, and each week the house gets together and they evict a person, and then it kind of dwindles down.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: And I think there's two or three left at the end, and they compete for the prize money.
- 5:07SPEAKER_02: However, the the the turn is is that at a certain week the people who get so I think like the first five or six weeks of people who get voted out, they have to go, they go back home.
- 5:20SPEAKER_02: But then after that week, they start going to a jury house, and then there's like a jury panel of seven of the contestants, and at the grand finale, they vote on who they think played the best game and who the winner should be.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: So it's pretty interesting.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: And the most interesting thing is is like seeing the people from all different walks of lives and then trying to like this season, there's a girl on there who's a real rocket science scientist, and she's trying to like play dumb and like she doesn't know anything, but she's super smart.
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: But they won't know that until they get out of the house.
- 5:57SPEAKER_02: But we know that now because we're watching it and we have access to social media, so that's a good one.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: But what else are I don't seriously?
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: What we did start up in Reno that we need to still finish is on a really good show.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: We love Selena Gomez.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Only Murders in the Building.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: It's on Hulu, Steve Martin and Martin Short.
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's great.
- 6:21SPEAKER_02: We kind of stopped it season four, five.
- 6:26SPEAKER_02: And yeah, we do have to get caught up, but we we sit when we like have downth actually, you know what we do?
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: We wait till one of us gets sick, and then we just kind of hang out and chill, and that's when we binge watch.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: I guess and I mean we got too much going on.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: And I got a lot of I got a lot of stress and um homesick, and I was down for the count a lot up in Reno, more than I am when I'm in Vegas.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: But now, I mean, we we travel a lot, like we're taking a trip to Indiana.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: We travel, we just got home from traveling for the summer.
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: We were gone from May until the first of July, that area.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: And then Andrew is kind of dabbling and seeing because his degree's in theater design and technology, and he's kind of looking for maybe something a little bit to keep him busy outside of the podcast here.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: So he's applied for a few jobs and he's starting grad school up in Washington in September.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Online, online, yeah, on September.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: So certainly none of that will affect the podcast here, but it's a lot going on.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: Plus, we have three dogs with the walk.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: We're trying to, you know, get ourselves in shape for the holiday season.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: But we also really love Halloween, and we can't wait to do our live show outside during Halloween.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: We are doing an incredible haunted house this season.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we gotta make up.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: So I love Halloween, my all-time favorite holiday.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: It kicks off the holiday season for me.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: Like I love Halloween, I love Christmas, and then your birthday follows.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: I do it up every year.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: Well, last year, meaning last year in 25 of Halloween, I was out of town and I didn't decorate.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: And it was really funny because I tell my husband all the time, like, our neighbors love my decorations, and he's like, whatever.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: But they do.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: And I know they do because the mailman, when we got back in November, stopped your dad and asked him if I was all right.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: And my husband goes, Yeah, she's fine.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: Well, what's going on?
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: And the mailman said, Well, I noticed she didn't decorate this year for Halloween.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Huh, just confirmed that people love, you know, and part of the reason why they love it is if you're out there and you want to come by, shoot us a message.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: I make hors d'oeuvres and drinks for the children so that they're not eating candy.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: And then I set up an hors d'oeuvre and wine bar for the adults.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: So we go through lots of walking and wine.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: And I know some people are so funny.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: I don't care how many times you come to get a refill.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: There are some people who like come up and I see them like three or four times.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: I'm like, come on up and get that wine.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: And sometimes they're like, we were already here.
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: I was like, I don't care, come back, right?
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: But this year it's gonna be even more crazy because we're gonna be doing a haunted house.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: We also have been in the works about saying we might do a live podcast while we're out there too.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: And so, well, we gotta start on that.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: That's actually something we need to work on too.
- 9:35SPEAKER_02: We're gonna maybe do like a up one of the driveways, put like a tent or some kind of dome, something, and create a little haunted house for the kids to walk through.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, you guys, I'm getting so excited.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: I love Halloween.
- 9:48SPEAKER_02: It's only two months away.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: One month now.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: August September.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: Well, three with with October, but October 1st is like full decoration mode in this home.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: But we're trying to figure out how we're gonna do it because we were originally gonna hire some actors to scare the kids, but now we think we're gonna do like some wiring of like, because I'm a technician, so I was thinking we might do some of you know those things that you hook up to the hose that you hook up to your smoke machine, and they have little holes in them, and so it looks like it's a grave.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: We're looking at hooking one of those um above whatever we cover the driveway with, so it's shooting down on them as they walk through, but we haven't fully figured it out yet.
- 10:37SPEAKER_02: You got I listen, I wish you could feel the joy I get from Halloween.
- 10:43SPEAKER_02: Sometimes I make my house so scary that little kids won't even come up.
- 10:49unknown: I love it.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: Love it.
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: And my costume always involves blood.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: There's gotta be something with blood going on.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: She was bloody Maybell last year before, 2024.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: I was not able to be here, but I was at Halloween parties.
- 11:04SPEAKER_02: But now you're home, so that's great.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: And then we'll be able to like scare it up even worse.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: And then can you guys believe another year's almost gone?
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: I mean, half the year, more than half the year is already gone.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: I don't like it.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: For you kids out there, you young ones, Andrew, all of you listening, listen, man, you gotta enjoy life because the older you get like me, the quicker it goes.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: And oh, time's the only thing we can't get back.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: Think about that.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: And we also are gonna also talk about how now that I'm actually graduated and have a little bit more time, this podcast and a lot of other things are important to us because we are a partnership now and we are looking at trying to navigate life and figure out what's more to come.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: Hopefully, this podcast is the niche that hopefully you guys enjoy it.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: Just kind of listen to some of the stories and and move along with us and and keep up with us and send us some emails and reach out and let us know what you're doing.

- 12:28SPEAKER_01: And also please give us a lot of grace.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: This is only our fourth episode that we've recorded, so we'll get better podcasting over time.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: We are not professionals, we are not professionals.
