- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: NFL daily's own Greg Rosenthal coming on to SPP talking Saints and it is the perfect week to have we didn't plan this that the one potentially if not the biggest NFL trade of all time happened to coincide the same week we didn't plan it it was just happen stance but before we get into talking Saints before we get into talking mouths Garrett and all that we got to start
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: Um, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: How does that sit with you?
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: Is there a question?
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: Or are you just going to start with the outrage that was this vote?
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, I was only 19 people.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get more people involved in this sport.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: We need to be sidin' up for the Patriot.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: We need to be.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's also the offseason, but yes, it's the offseason.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: I know it's only me.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: Tumble, we used to, I don't know, you know.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: I got admit, I went through all the emotions.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: That first, that was angry.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Eventually, I got to look in myself in the mirror.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: Am I doing enough as a Saints Black Party guest?
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: to really be making sure that these are my streets.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm coming back over to take over the streets and like, that I Carmen is a great guy, a great guest, but I think it was a recent sea bias, but I gotta look myself in the mirror.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting up there, I got more gray hairs now.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, you know, I gotta start bringing the heat a little better and let them know that I'm the number one guest.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: met at home and become it with that eat now he break it down price rates and stuff well you know what he's got going for me he's got his own proprietary grading system and he's just going to gas up uh... the saints and just say everyone's great your fixed Jordan Tyson's great and and so they're going to like that
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: Also, you're saying that because you are like a realist you keep it you keep it real that keep it when it be getting the little bit because of that.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was I came on this show that I remember Wolf didn't like it back in the day.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, yeah, I don't know if Derek car's going to be that great for y'all guys.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like you guys were so good for reading the parade.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: Hold it.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_03]: Hold it.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I remember specifically you were like, you could have just kept Andy don't for that.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_03]: And I was like, what are you crazy?
- 3:03[SPEAKER_03]: Fuck, fuck, fuck is Greg talking about.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know where I was in right though, and maybe this is affecting the vote too.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: I was skeptical about Tyler Chuck coming into his rookie season.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: If him as a draft pick, and I'm sure you got a lot planned here, but I am always happy to recognize when, an evaluation going into the draft was wrong once or in the NFL, cause I believe three games in the NFL is worth more than your entire college career.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I care more about what you showed me when you played in the NFL, and I've gone through Chuck's tape this off season.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to watch them live too.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: and I'm on board.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he guys got a real one that I'm excited about and I'm almost surprised he's not getting more love nationally, but man, he was impressive and now I got that one totally wrong.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm here to make a men's on that one.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_02]: It was extremely impressive.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: I do feel like if we start here, like people might just turn the podcast off, because as a realist, and I'm gonna kind of let Ryan take the lead, but you said something on NFL Daily about a certain tweet in a picture of quarterbacks, recently, you know.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: my home's breeze that kind of got some traction and I I'm going to Ryan as like the the Drew breeze expert just just just you know it would just say it said the outrage came from some parts some person saying like only one person this fit drives MVP which is really like a different
- 4:39[SPEAKER_03]: I actually put that tweet on the timeline, just because I wanted to get the same fans at what was my boy, if it was not filming analysis, I forgot his name, but I watched his YouTube all the time.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, I had to get the same fans on the back, because and I know Greg Greg was like, oh well, I mean, obviously, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 5:01[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, Breeze wasn't better than Brady and Aaron Rogers and Peyton Manning.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_03]: Like, no, it ain't obvious.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_03]: It ain't, it ain't, it ain't, it's not obvious.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_03]: That's not obvious.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_03]: There's a debate to be aired there.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_03]: There's a glitch in it to be.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's more time MVP in Rogers.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: There's a five time MVP in Manning.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: There's maybe the greatest player I've ever seen entered the league for his first seven, eight years in my home.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: So let's get in a little weird.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's Brady.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: So that's an unfair group to put him against.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to say him versus Rogers, I think that's the conversation beyond that.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_03]: I think I think that's the most majority of the conversation that people say and look, I get it.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_03]: Cause Rogers.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_03]: I got no people don't like him now because like his personality and yeah, you know, the way he's been a legend, but like he's personal.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's prime, he was a, he was a, that's a bad by the fuck up, or like, it was a bad, it was by the fucker with the football bad, but still, I think he, he's crazy.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: He almost reminds me of the, if to use a tennis analogy, not that anyone falls tennis, but.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's a little fatter like in that he was around when the other greats were around and I think if you took Rodgers is very best It was better than Brady and and Breeze in manning and maybe even the homes like it might like him in his 2011 or 2015 that whatever those MVPCs were Chris Wesley And you say it all the time you're like that's the best I've ever seen any quarterback play and
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: I can see it like him at his very best, but he wasn't nearly as consistent as Breeze was not in close.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's Breeze's super power though.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_03]: I think the consistency, like Koseo talked about it when he was on here is just like,
- 6:52[SPEAKER_03]: Like, just from like a football, like a quarterbacky, nerd standpoint, you just, I just love watching Breeze.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_03]: I know I'm biased, but like, it just, it just looked like a quarterback supposed to look like just like, they didn't snap in a snap out.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_03]: Like every game, it was just like, this is a play perfection, man.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_03]: I just think I feel like he's under-preciated, which is stupid to say, because he's like, put it all the frame, like he's a, put it all the frame, like literally in the first belly.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_03]: So he's not under-readed, you know,
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: And unlike Peyton Manning, he didn't start like squeezing the ball a little harder when the game's got bigger, you know, I think that's a fair knock against Peyton Manning, which which stands out a little bit to me and Breeze was not that guy.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_02]: I, anyway, I just set that up just to get Greg to have lower votes if this, if the polls don't get, they, they turned it off, it's telling me I got more and more energy.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's early June.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking, we're talking, saying, I thought you were going to bring up you just having to have me on the day that Alvin Cameras showed up to work by surprise.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let's, let's get it to a few, let, um,
- 8:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think everyone fans and Saints included were completely surprised by him showing up to OTAs today.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: And the sense that I've gotten and kind of been told is that AK and his team is agent, like they wanna know how the Saints were gonna move for, are you, are you, are you, am I gonna be on the team?
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: Or am I not?
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like I just need some clarity.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_02]: And something right now I have talked about just in regards to like, you can make the argument like it makes complete football sense
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: release him, you know, is an aging running back, whatever, but there's just weird how the things have been this, like, they still don't know what they want to do.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, like, what's the hold-up?
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's a weird kind of situation that they're kind of putting AK in as well.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: Because Kevin doesn't know, like his answers at the podium are just all over the place.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_02]: So what were your thoughts when you when you saw that?
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was a great move.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: It was such an album come here.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: Move and he even said, oh, I just, I just was in bed and decided to last night.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just gonna show up and see what Mickey does now.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: And the most interesting part of it was he was saying, he was waiting to see how much of a haircut using that as kind of a term for a haircut, I guess, that they wanted him,
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: to take and you guys could speak a little more on the particulars of the con the new contract that they gave.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: But that's it's all very confusing.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the way they had set up the contract now was was he going to be cool like what how do you think this goes from here?
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to give them another pay cut on top of what this restructure was.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: That that part I don't really understand but it makes total sense that he just wants clarity and that this was a move to
- 9:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know, it's weird, like, even the restructuring was weird.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_03]: It was like a 50% rule.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_03]: I still don't really understand it.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_03]: But essentially, yeah, essentially, it gave the saints, it was like doing a restructuring without having them having to pay like that, you know, that restructuring cash up front, you know what I'm saying?
- 10:03[SPEAKER_03]: Like, the bonus, the signing on, so whatever.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_03]: So it was just a weird little move they did.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_03]: I was wondering, like, oh, like, are they trying to bullf him?
- 10:11[SPEAKER_03]: Like, in a trade?
- 10:14[SPEAKER_03]: But I don't know, but he's trained from command right now.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know what, but maybe they wanted to see.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's guaranteed a $3 million salary this year is based salary is $1.3 million.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're not going to give him any more pay cut.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: No, there's nothing to cut either, either he's on the team or you cut him like there's no like in between.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_03]: But I guess if you please, fully you will make by what 11, but 11 million dollars if you please the whole season.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I guess they want it to happen.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_03]: When he's already, I know, but that's the thing.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_03]: When he's on the desk for her, but they haven't even discussed at all.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_03]: Like they've never even approached them by the pick against.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_03]: So I just, I don't get it.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_03]: It is.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: And they let him switch to the media and they're sending out tweets of the chat and the tweets at Gen. And so I'm beginning
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's on the team.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we're sees the guy you've heard stories about these guys that got get fired and then they just show up to work the next day still.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: He'd be like, oh no.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like him, him sending in those pictures out.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like, oh, I guess he's on the team.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's too late.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they sent the tweet out.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_02]: Right, it just it does feel a little bit like the the two pace the is out of like the two like to do that and then like maybe a couple of weeks later like yeah, where he's he's gone like it's it looks like it's a bad look Like it'd no be very unsaints like I would not bury very much good.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so 8k for pulling that because just want football practical standpoint.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: Ryan, I've talked about this at length in terms of you can make the argument him being cut from aging when he backs standpoint makes sense, but you are trying to win the NFC South next this upcoming season.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: So if something happens to H and and he gets hurt, then like your back up is like debinial
- 12:03[SPEAKER_02]: Kindred Miller's not even practicing, because his ACL tier last season.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: So just from a depth perspective, it just makes more logical sense to just write out this one last season with them and let him write out to the sunset rather than just getting rid of him.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: Because then you're hurting your team debt that they're running back position.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: And you want debt if you're trying to compete in an NFC South title.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and when he's making that little money, like if it's not working out, you can, you can see how he looks in camp.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: You could, you could something could happen in the season, but I love the idea of avon comera as just your back up third down back.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he, he's, he's built to be a third down back that that you don't put many, you know, miles on during the season or anything and he just comes into the spell at Jan sometimes.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, I just don't get it, you know, and look there's killing, they've asked Kelly more like every possible way, you can ask him, like, yes, under your ass, the point like, like, do you have a visitor for him on a team?
- 13:06[SPEAKER_03]: And he was like, like, you said, yeah, like, oh, yeah, definitely, I have a visitor for him, but it was still kind of hit, like a hedge answer, hi, it's just weird, man.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_03]: I just would like to know, like, what are you all going to do?
- 13:16[SPEAKER_03]: Like, what?
- 13:17[SPEAKER_03]: What is happening here?
- 13:18[SPEAKER_03]: Like, is it your own team?
- 13:19[SPEAKER_03]: Is it not, you're gonna cut them, like, just move on, put out the thank you tweet, you know, thank you for your service and just move on.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_03]: And like, just do it.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: There's a thief in these times.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_03]: Just what are there?
- 13:31[SPEAKER_03]: Somebody who's been quietly locking up all series.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_03]: You've got a hunch and who it is.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_03]: Under those got a million dollars for whoever calls it right.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_03]: Pick your player every game, include their still stats, series ends, still leader gets crowned, pot gets split among everyone who called it.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_03]: It's simple as that.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_03]: This week on Underdog, I'm looking at the finals and selecting Wimbee for higher than 27 and a half points, and Jalen Brutson for lower than 2 and a half three points.

- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, just what other team has a coach at the podium talking about,
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the biggest legend left on the team in terms of just being with the team long time and be like, well, he showed up today and that was unexpected.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: I love killing them, not being able to lie is fantastic.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: He can't lie to me.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: But let's just holistically big picture.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_02]: He said, you watch a lot of, you know, all the taller Chuck and breaking them down, this, you know, dog days of summer.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: What is just your impression of the Saints as a whole going into 2020's six?
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: For agencies past, drought has passed.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like there may be some tweaks that happens in terms of, you know, after preseason and cuts and veterans pick whatever, but like this essentially is going to be the team that we expect to have in field 53 players just.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: as all the dust is sort of like, what are you at in terms of the 2000-26 versions of the new world in science?
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, big picture, a little concerned about the defense.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think the ceiling is relatively low.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the offense and in this kind of space to the team in general is one of the biggest brewer bus teams in the NFL.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like one of the teams where the ceiling and the floor are the furthest apart.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: It is mostly just because of injuries.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not telling it.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: You guys anything you don't know.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: But the way that Chuck plays, like he takes a lot of hits, so I still do worry about him.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he proved durable, but man, he takes a pounding, at least the way he played last year.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: And then the offensive line, like if it clicks and everyone's healthy, Tyson and Alave stay healthy.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: That could be a really good fun offense with a legit high ceiling if the offensive line is a top five offensive line, which I don't think is that crazy top five to 10, but man, there's also you take three or four pieces out of it, which considering the injury history with a lot of the guys of the whole offense, I'm talking about and then it just all falls apart.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I actually think they might be the most
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know, certainly the most dangerous other than Tampa, but yeah, the team in the NFC south along with Tampa that had, obviously as the highest ceiling, but it's also, I think it's a boomer bus type of team.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_03]: Now you, you spot on and, you know, you can go deeper than that because you got a lobby.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_03]: with the concussion issues.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_03]: You know, luckily he was all clear last year, then you got Tyson, well known hamstring issues.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_03]: They took an approach to kind of ramp him up this all season, which I actually do like.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_03]: But even like Devon Valle, he constantly dealt with injuries through a just from the way he plays, his real physical player.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_03]: He just gets knicked up.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_03]: Just everybody, man.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_03]: Like even though I got it for Wagga, that's too really important now.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: those are the two big ones because they're such a vital piece in terms of if this if the obvious of life can be truly good like top 10 good that means Eric McCoy's playing 10 plus games that means for waga not only is he playing 10 plus games but he looks more like his rookie version of how he looked at right tackle than his second year.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I know people, like, I think just think that like, oh, like David, David, Edward is like, he's a decent offensive lineman, like cool, I don't like people truly don't understand how bad that left guard position for the same slash.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: It was a trotist with with pinning with redunds and just the revolving door.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_02]: So even him just being there will help him prove the off of the line so much, but like you hit it on the head.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's just the the.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_02]: injuries and can they stay healthy is such a huge thing.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: The thing that Ryan and I thought about you, you hit on the defense is like,
- 18:33[SPEAKER_02]: It just, it just feels like it's a defense that's prone to regress of how they end in last season.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: Now, you can bring up the fact that they weren't playing like super great teams, but like, Brenna's daily very much was in his bag and had the defense humming, especially towards it in the season.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: She hasn't got to get season, but it just feels like there's going to be a stout back.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: But I would just ask you, is there a, what is the path for this defense to at least?
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: either maintain or even go up a level in terms of what they can do defensively kind of with the current talent that they currently have.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's that the stale songs you know starts really getting going.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: It was it was happened in late last year.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's year two of the system and that the guys in the system.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of smart players in this system like Justin Reed and you have veterans that that
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: together.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Because you look at just the overall pass rush.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: I know Chase Young is a good player, but between the defensive tackles and then the rest of the edge position.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's pretty low.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty low.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: So you're counting on steam and continuity and kind of being greater than the sum of their parts.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: And you're guy Kristen Miller coming out and being one of the better rookie defensive lineman, which I think is possible.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's possible.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_03]: they needed me like they need they need somebody part of the pop off.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_03]: I was fascinated you guys it you and I led selected on chase young honestly like 22nd like I did the 32 pairs rushes as whatever.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_03]: Which was like you know it was kind of spot on like despite I thought it was a good spot for but it was crazy just seeing him kind of come alive last year because
- 20:13[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I think both me and Adam were kind of skeptical when they reside them.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_03]: They gave them the one-year deal, brought them back.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_03]: And it was like, cool, it's a good solid player, but it's like, he always left a little something on the phone.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you know, you just want to look more from then, he started the season, missing five games.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, here we go, here we go again.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_03]: But after that man he came on like damn like this dude here.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_03]: He was playing Brian will really got me as like fourth order like third down, fourth down, third long.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_03]: Like that's when he was making plays.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, so I don't know if you will ever be like D like like that number one pass rusher, 18, 19, sex stuff like that, but I think if you got him up, if we got him a partner.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_03]: somebody on the other side that could really, you know, light it up.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_03]: I think that help.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_03]: And obviously some interior past rush, which they just have none.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_03]: They have no interior past rush whatsoever.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_03]: None.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he was the guy in that exercise because it takes a lot of work putting that list together that I realized I realized and I'm the one that took them so I don't know when Ali would take them but I realized like the statistical case for him was a lead last year and yes he was getting into the portion and Ali pointed this out he's like okay you know some of the guys getting taken
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: you know, before them, they've been more complete players.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: They almost used him as a real situational russia.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't like snap-wise even per game.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't always on the field there.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: But when you went for the quick pressures and the pressures per snap and hitting the quarterback per snap,
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like the only guy other than Miles Garrett that was like beat in him was Nick Herbick who's another like situational guy and just went nuts and just got a hundred million dollars from the Steelers to go to statistically if you just looked at the next gen numbers he put up like top five like just true edge like this is what we are hoping chase young would always be and and maybe it was just a little bit of maturity getting healthier and everything but but he was great last year they just you're right they just need someone else with him.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I do find it very interesting that two people, this we got paid, Drake London paid.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: Nick Herbert got paid yesterday yesterday.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, time is anymore.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, guys.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: And then today at OTAs, and maybe maybe there's no correlation, but Jason and Chris
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: Already I think it would be a heart I don't I don't know a bad anything to the contract But he I think is his average is like 18 million or like the what they what they brought him back for last season was very undermarket But that at that point he like he hadn't really shown like it made sense So I think he's gonna like 18 mil per year and then you see that someone You know the edge rusher and they got a four-year hundred-million dollar extension.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: You're like oh
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, interesting.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: Now I do say like, if I'm the things I was like, I need to see it one more season.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: Like I need to see fully healthy of season and cool.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about that.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: But,
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like I'd be remiss if we didn't talk about the Mao's Garrett thing.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: And I have my view on out of the as a Saints fan of like what it meant to me.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: But have a listen to the episode that you and Jordan did.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: Also I just wanted to give a shout out sending, you know, rest in power to Tucker.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: I know Jordan's going through it.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: Love Jordan.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: Now I know she's going through it.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: So we're just giving love and giving rest in power to Tucker.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: Because we love you guys on both of you guys on this on the podcast.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: You're first just a initial reaction when you get the news and it just it just hits you.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we were mid-taping.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: We literally weren't me and Nick Schick were in the middle of talking about whether Miles Garrick had get traded or not.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like, no way.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: And our producers like, oh, no, you can just pivot and I was like, no, we're throwing all that out.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: Let's start.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go live.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: What's the point of of that?
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: Because the buzz started popping up to the point where it started
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: Bye.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: I just went back to that the Rams do things their own way and I love that for them for their fans because it is a risky trade.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: There was even a question at the press conference.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the question was unfair, but it was funny where the guy asking was, well, now you're in a situation where you go from a team that was a work in progress for a long time to a team that if you don't win the Super Bowl, it's going to be a major disappointment.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, when Sean McVay was like, whoa, he literally was at the party was like, that way you really think of it.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: But it's true.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_03]: It's true.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, the Rams now is different, but they remind me of those like 2018, 2019 scenes where as a fan, it's a whole interesting conversation.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, would you rather be
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: the team where you're not expecting to have because season these have like this just so much exciting seeding or would you rather be the team where you're like you're a perennial like you should be in the spike the lions I would say the lions are kind of that kind of the similar team right now where if you don't go to the superbowl and win it is completely a disappointment and as a fan like as a fan like that's a kind of a crappy place to be as a fan.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but you get you get Miles Garrett and yes, it does give him a better chance for this year.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think Jared verse a really good player who has some limitations, but Jared verse plus three picks is crazy.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: That the evaluation that to me is the most excited.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: I can't wait to watch it with him having Kobe Turner there and then by reading youngs on the other side and putting a foreign fist like they got dudes around him.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: is play with the lead, Jordan said it, I think they evaluated him like as good as everyone knows like oh yeah, Miles Garrett, like he just won defensive player there.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: As good as he is, I think the real football sickos are like no, he's like it was insulting to him that for so many years, it'd be like is it Garrett or TJ Y and got all these dealers fans being like well, if you look at this or
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: and Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: They're in a tier to themselves.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think in the last 15 years, peak white Donald and Garrett and what you could still do with this dude with the rest of the town, they have it.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: It could be special.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_03]: It's crazy.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_03]: I was crunching some stats yesterday, and I think it was like 40 like Miles Garrett played, like
- 26:53[SPEAKER_03]: 40% of his snaps with the Browns trailing.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_03]: Like mine.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_03]: And like Jared Burst just in his two years with the Rams, it was like 24% trailing or something like that.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_03]: So I just from a pair's worth of standpoint, like Garrett is just gonna be able to feast bro.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_03]: Like it's gonna be.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_03]: ridiculous.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_03]: What are just a ridiculous trade, but like a fun, like a fun trade.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_03]: And in fact, that it started out with like some green bay, piecaster who was tweeted out.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, and I looked like, I didn't even respond to it.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_03]: I thought I was like, oh, that's bullshit.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_03]: Who is this guy?
- 27:29[SPEAKER_03]: You may have a check mark, you know?
- 27:31[SPEAKER_03]: Like,
- 27:33[SPEAKER_03]: He was on.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_03]: He was close.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_03]: Like he said it was like a wicked Williams deal with something, but yeah, you know, he was close.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_03]: He was close.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: That was when when we were talking about on the podcast that never aired.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: I called him out by name.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's didn't.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's didn't something.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's not.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: Charger's legend, he's his picker.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying he got a gun and someone else said something I was like, and I was screaming at you.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_03]: I was listening all the time because I was screaming at the end because you're always talking about well I guess we didn't get the Get the AJ Brown trade yet.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_03]: I'm screaming like just wait in a couple of minutes.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's coming Three hours, but by then yeah We got to spread out the contents.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: I was fine, you know, we could age it very good
- 28:21[SPEAKER_02]: Just going to that, right, you tweeted about it.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: But last year, Michael Parsons has traded.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, oh, we're like a generational password for the next off season.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: You have an even more or better password for the traded.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: What is just your overall just that?
- 28:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I know you tweeted, but just your view and the league of like how these things
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: are able to happen.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_02]: Because simply like we would never see a top three pastoral should get traded in the prime of their careers.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: And now it's almost seems like it's now like borderline like commonplace.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_03]: And like what up, Wolf?
- 29:01[SPEAKER_03]: What are you looking at?
- 29:02[SPEAKER_03]: Man, I'm checking out this website.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_03]: This site is cheeseburg.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_03]: In the 21st century, how do you have a crappy website?
- 29:08[SPEAKER_03]: Couldn't be me.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_03]: They need to hit a biograph visa with precious works.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_03]: Precious works offers to not only build your website, that's tailored to you and your customer's needs, but also to continue to manage and maintain it.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_03]: So you can focus on your business.

- 29:41[SPEAKER_03]: B. John sets up, set up Saints Blockpointed Podcasts website for us a few years ago, and hit it out the park.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_03]: He also keeps it up to date, and helps us anytime we want to add something new like a farm or the prospect matching tool that we did for the NFL draft.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_03]: It's like having your own personal developer, just a text I'll call it away.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_03]: Pressure's work says work with everyone from small businesses to large firms.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_03]: So no job is too big or too small.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_03]: If you're in a need of a website, or you currently have one, but you want to upgrade it, give B's on a highly precious works.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_03]: You can get with him at B's on at Precious Works, the IJLN at Precious.Works are good at Precious.Works for his website.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_03]: Make sure to tell him things about the party sent you.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: Right, and like deals like the jail and water deal and all the other like the Trent McDuffie deal like we don't even think about that five or six different First round picks got traded for for veterans this off season.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: Hello, I love it.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: I've all it's what I've always wanted.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the Eagles and the Patreys to a lesser degree last decade were a little ahead of things on this, but then the number one thing is everyone's so damn smart even the Saints don't have cap problems anymore.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: There's no void years, but for real there is just so much cap space.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: There's there's too much and there's got to be there's need to TV deals.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's going up at the opposite of the NBA where no one's under the
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: The, these trades and give up the future picks and like it just spins it all up that this cap space is out there.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's so much harder to get good players than it is to create caps are so hard.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_03]: So I was looking at like the same free agents next year 2027.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's nobody, like, nobody, like, you're soon crystal-living.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_03]: It's taken off that list this year, but after that, it's nobody.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a bunch of just, like, deaf players.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_03]: They don't bite in the pace.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_03]: So they're going to have cafes with nobody to pay.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like, they're going to have to figure out, oh, Lord, so loomus.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_03]: See, you mean this with trades?
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: And the crazy thing about these trades to like for these ones in particular like AJ Brown and Miles Garrett if you just look at the money coming their way because the teams are that they're coming from already paid them all the upfront money, so that's right, your cheap Garrett's only do a hundred only a hundred million dollars and cash like the next three years, which 33 a year for Garrett you're like that's not bad.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then AJ Brown's even less like his cap numbers the next couple years like add up as like seven and then 10 and then 17 he'll be asking for more money after this year if he does well, but either way it's like it's easy to take the mind you just got to be willing to give up some picks with just takes a little it takes some guts, but it does it can work.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: But that's what I actually look forward to with having cap space at some point because for the past 10 years or whatever, the same's wouldn't be able to do stuff like that.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_03]: Or if they would, they have to like, at the same time do some kind of cap gymnastics with somebody else if you want to make a trade app.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_03]: And like I remember one year, when they were, Sean Pee was trying to get, who was the corner back in Carolina?
- 33:04[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Josh, Josh Norman.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_03]: Josh Norman, they were trying to get caught.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_03]: Josh Norman, Sean Peyton had him on the phone.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_03]: He had Joe Breeze on the phone.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_03]: Joe Breeze was holding out at the time for a cut trip.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_03]: So he's trying to figure out how to fit Joe Breeze new contract in and like trade Josh Norman at the same time.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_03]: He was just like,
- 33:23[SPEAKER_03]: But when you have Cap space, you're able to just make a move.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if you had to, when he was trying to sell him on the Saints on the phone to sell Johnny Norman while he was in the contract, is that what's got to do?
- 33:33[SPEAKER_03]: He was trying to, he was trying to explain to Drew Reeves like, look, whenever you sign, we need to structure your deal in a way, so we could fit Josh Minorman in, because of what Drew Reeves was going to sign, but it just was, it was the all season.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_03]: So it was just, like, I just, that kind of time to stuff is the stuff that, even
- 33:52[SPEAKER_03]: You know, stuff is kind of overrated as far as like, oh, you know, we don't have an accelerant space.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_03]: It immediately is a hindering sometimes, especially when like, yeah, if a guy becomes available immediately, you know, you can need to take on $10, $20,000 in a cap hit.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_03]: If you haven't, you just like stuck out.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_03]: It's especially stuck in.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_03]: Can't restructure anybody, you know, real quickly or whatever.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_03]: And the same's we're in that position for a long time, like they always had to do some kind of cap gymnastics to make that happen.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: And I think like I'm a little little scared going to off season next year, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: So the thing that hit me as a Saints fan when the Garrett news broke is there's a part of me that hopes and maybe it has it.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: But like hope like maybe this is like maybe comm some Saints fans down just in terms of like optimism and I'm not trying to like tone it down too much.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: If you listen, if you've been in our YouTube comments and what have you post draft, post free agency, thanks fan things for the things we're winning in the Lebanon.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wait, after this Herman stuff, they're dead to me.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_02]: think they're going to be like a two seed in like the NFC and like will easily win the NFC South.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_02]: But like, it's like that Garrett trade happened and I, my first thought was like, man, I hope band just realized like how much of a different tier the, like maybe two tiers that the same sort of have still yet to get to where they're, they're not there yet.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_02]: Like they're now actually functioning as like a stable
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: decent franchise and with with common sense.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: But we're not there yet.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's going to take some time and a lot of things to go right continue to go right for them to get there.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: But that was my first kind of reaction to like I hope that kind of who knows people will listen to this like no, like we can be the right.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_02]: I can guarantee these are going to be doing the YouTube comments and like oh, the things can be the rams and be like dead ass series when they say it.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_02]: But that was like as a thing span when that trade happened.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I hope that kind of like.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_02]: what people love that we are not there get close.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: And they could on any given Sunday, but over 17 game season and we are seeing for the most part, the best teams coming through in the playoffs, yeah, there's levels to it.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought Michael Parsons was interested and they asked him about it on Wednesday what he would say to Garrett because they're friends and everything.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: And he was like,
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: The AFC, they got some good teams and everything, but the NFC, and he's speaking from an NFC North player, but the NFC, there's no easy games in the NFC and it's true.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: The bottom is better in the NFC and the top, there's just more monsters.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: The saints are not at the level of teams like
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: is a problem.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: They're at all four of those teams are essentially a step ahead like the lines and Packers for sure and even the Bears and Vikings you know you can get to that level but it's just there's just such great depth.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many quarterbacks now too in the NFC.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just top level at the at the AOC and so yeah he's right you can get him on a Sunday but it's more the teams even like a team like the box so I'm pretty high on has to look at
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: We got a lot of good players, but we're just, we're not at that level either, and then we have bigger mayfield.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_03]: And I think big mistakes that takes on, I just, it seems like his career has always been kind of like always up and down, and I feel like, after later, she, I feel like he's going to have like a good year, like he's going to bounce back here and, and I just, you know, they, they do build it the right way, I can't lie, so I think there will be, but look at the
- 37:50[SPEAKER_03]: saying it's got busy with the bugs last year in Tampa, you know, and that was with that was with Lake.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_03]: can't even tell you who was on the stage.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it had William Sherman on the offensive line.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_03]: And just to say it was just, in Tatters, and you know, so I do think the Saints do have a chance to win the UFC South, I don't, I just, I just can't buy the Falcons.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_03]: And that's not even my bias.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I just, I have, like, what are you doing?
- 38:16[SPEAKER_03]: Like, what are the Falcons doing?
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't get it.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: They stink, uh, I think they think I don't get it.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: In the NFL.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: I really do.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad you brought up that buck's game though.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to bang on the falcons because I did go back and watch Chuck and it was that buck's game and then the panther's game to follow in week that really sold me on him and I went I went back to watch those games.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's got that something
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: where late in games, his courage and his ability to make plays and everyone remembers the scrambles, but he had a number of third-down plays, whether running.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: They were backed up in difficult situations in those games, and he was money.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_01]: And like my overall picture of him really improved watching it, but especially those late and close situations.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's a part of his
- 39:10[SPEAKER_03]: Like, from his college, I just didn't see that in college, man.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_03]: I just didn't see that in just the way he played and with who you play with, like he would throw in a brownie brownie.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_03]: a submerged Tory and this week, you know, Kevin Austin, Jr. was catching money down the third down, you know, Valetia, Valetia looking like we were finally there.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: Valetia look good in those game.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't realize how many difficult grabs.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the thing, you do worry a little bit.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I think the big question for shock is like number one.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_01]: Kenny avoid taking some of those hits because he I told you this out of me.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: He he looked like he the two quarterbacks.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: I always think of the most that just stand in there and got killed they were so gutsy and they were so strong was Ryan Tana Hill and came new where they and they didn't really get hit but they get they got brutalized because it was a combination of guts and not having a ton of feel of like getting out of the way and they would just get killed and so can Chuck survive that and then also because he's an older player.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: Do we get the second year leap that you'd love to see or is it just going to kind of be the same stuff?
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: Because if you do get that second year leap, then you're really, you're really cooking with gas.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: So you kind of took my next question.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_02]: One of the last ones I have for you is like, and we ask, we ask this people who've been on the podcast this all season is like, what does that second year leap for sure look like?
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like, how do you quantify and contextualize what that leap is?
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think it's getting hit less.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's taking less sacks.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's finding that balance.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's the offensive lines certainly helping them out, but his pressure just like they weren't bad last year.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think for me, they really weren't that bad.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, yeah, it's taking way less negative plays and honestly just,
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: the consistency in terms of the decision making, but I liked it.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's just him him backing it up and then the surroundings are going to help him out.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: That to me would be his second year leap.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: He showed me a lot more in his first year than I really expect because if that if he plays at the level he was playing at the end of last year and the online and with a lobby and Tyson the weapons are just better and it's year two with more.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's all you need.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to ask for more than that.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to ask for more than that.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to ask for more.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and you should get more though.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_03]: I'll be looking.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_03]: He's gone.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_03]: It's his team now.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
- 41:35[SPEAKER_03]: He's been here all off season.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_03]: He's taking on the leadership role.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_03]: He's getting all the snaps all the ones.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_03]: So it's his now, you know what I'm saying is so I really I really fascinated to see if he really does take that leap like you saw it yourself with Drake may from his first season way played what you know maybe 12 games, you know if you had to watch the games and actually see like oh there's something there with this Drake may you just need to better team around them and then that happened and actually it went to the damn Super Bowl now I wouldn't expect that from the Saints at all but I do want to see that
- 42:13[SPEAKER_03]: like way that undeniable where you don't even have to kind of like squint because like right now you look at if you pull up next gen status or whatever you look at shows that you've got to kind of squint see like oh you know some good stats there but like it's still not like great.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_03]: Drake may like his second year like he was elite in every metric like every metric is like
- 42:31[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like trick me was cooking and the guy just watched the game and like yeah, he's freaking Paul and so I hope to see like it doesn't have to be a jump like from that to like trick me level But I hope to see where the eye test statistics the wins all this stuff just kind of match and how you don't have to squint to look at it
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the feel of one to use is athleticism.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_01]: But I think the May comparisons are good one.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: He obviously doesn't have the skills that the May has.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: At least I think that's obvious.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like I thought May was one of the best prospects I'd seen.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_01]: But I think it's a good comp in that I did feel.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't think May was going to have the season he had last year.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I did feel like he showed me enough in his rookie season.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: I fell.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: I felt so good about him.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like I knew I actually do feel that about Chuck.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: As long as he's healthy, I actually do feel like I saw enough.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: Not to be at the male level, but to be a plus starter level.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like I feel like I saw enough.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I'm talking about the surroundings and just in just getting the rep.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I'd love to see him have that field of when to use his athleticism too, because when he when he felt like he needed to, he made it happen.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's a way to kind of avoid avoid getting hit instead of just standing back there.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he would get, he gets through his reads really fast, which that really impressed me.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: But he'd almost trusted too, but he, he'd be getting like one to two, three to four, and then it's like, at four, and it's like,
- 43:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think that also, my last one I have for you, Kellon, his Russian as a second-year head coach.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_02]: In theory, you have your guy at quarterback.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: You have weapons, offensive line.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_02]: What does that look like for him in terms of his growth in the second year at head coach in terms of like,
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: you know, obviously he calls the plays, but he's also the CEO of the team.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_02]: What are the things that you would want to see from like, okay, all right, Kelly, like, okay, I think you're doing like to make you like maybe your opinion of him as a head coach.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's not a play caller to maybe lift and be eliminated.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he's ever going to change with the media.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's not answering your question, but
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, just do the play calling because that was where I thought he got better late last season.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: And then I saw the vision.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, dude.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: The last seven eight games.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I'm not I'm not a saint's hate.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_01]: I've been negative on this podcast when I've come on plenty lately because I think there's been stuff to be negative now.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's thrilled to watch this.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, damn killing more to the great job with what he had and with shook and helping shook out.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: He was a huge part of why Chuck.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: was so good late last season.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think he got into a real flow, newest talent, newest quarterback.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: And he's a real quarterback guy.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: So I have to care, just be the Dorky guy you are.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe you're not going to have the best like Mike Tomlin like feel the whole locker room, like
- 45:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's okay, you just call the, call the play is great.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: If you keep that going, that's all we need.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_03]: I will say this about killing our appreciate that he kind of is who he is.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's not faking it at all.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_03]: He is just a like fall dork.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_03]: That's just who he is.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_03]: And he talks very like matter of fact, leader people.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_03]: And I think I think players it took them a while to kind of get you to that.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_03]: But I think you start to see players just kind of like, okay, like I understand who killing players like.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_03]: Chuck talks about how they text at like 10 or 11 o'clock at night about random stuff, you know.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_03]: So he's a young, like he's a young coach.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_03]: You know, young coach is 36 years old.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_03]: So he can kind of, you know, communicate.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_03]: I just hope he doesn't fall into that like that Mike McDaniel's thing where he just kind of becomes a more of a peer instead of a, you know, like a head coach.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he might got a little swag told you know, he's trying to he's trying to be friends and I think players always respect if you just are who you are you just and I'm telling is like that he can be that dark, but players will always prefer that over someone who's just kind of fake or not being real with them like your last coach.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: Hello.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have anything more for Greg.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: Would you like anything else?
- 46:56[SPEAKER_03]: No, no.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate you coming over.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_01]: I hope I did enough.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: I hope I didn't have to pass Arman to win a moment.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_01]: Don't boo, boo.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: We got we got Adam at out at the polls, you know, he's working for four straight days.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm like checking the results today.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, Oh, cool.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: Cool.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_01]: We got to have the late votes are my change it up a little bit.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, Greg, thank you for coming on, but Johnson is going to do that poll again in the middle of the off season next year.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be interesting to see what those poll results are, but always a pleasure to have you on long time.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_02]: Friend and just goes so much beyond football, so thanks for coming on and just chopping it up with those really appreciate it man.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you too, you guys are the best, but forget about next year.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do it next week.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_01]: Come on.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 47:54[SPEAKER_02]: But number is up anyhow.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_02]: We will put our going to get out of here.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe this week to maybe recap OTAs will we'll see how the we'll see how we go.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_02]: But with that we are out Pigs
